Mo and Mo Fun & Bliss: Welcome to the Fun and Bliss Show. Where fun is our practice. And bliss is our lifestyle. I'm Monique. And I'm Monique Gapp. This is a show to help you laugh louder. Dance more often. Savor the silly and sacred alike. And turn fun into a blissful plan. So we can live lives of more ease, love, prosperity, and joy. Let's go! Welcome, Gerald. So happy to have you. So excited to be here with Monique and Monika. And I'm so excited to meet you. Our pre-recording conversation was awesome. So Gerald, what does living a blissful life look like for you in real everyday terms? Geez, I think about life in terms of what I call soul force energy. You know, like we have like this, this energy that drives you know, how we live and operate our life. And when we are in alignment with things that are a true match for our soul, those things are energy rich and our souls light up and we feel excited. We feel energized. We feel passionate. We feel, we feel like life has meaning and purpose. And when we're out of alignment with those things that aren't a match for our soul and our life is filled with those things, it's, it's like, it's the energy drains. I like pull us away from that. So for me, just like pursuing those energy rich things that just make life feel more exciting, more bright, more energized, more vibrant. I love that. What do you do for fun these days? So what do you do to that? That is energy enriching for you. I feel super blessed. It feels like the majority of my life is, you know, pursuing these little balls of energy. I think about it like a video game, and you're charging along and you see these little glowing orbs and you hit them and you're, you're bo-bo-bo, you level up or you're power. That's kind how I perceive these moments of fun or interaction. Being on a podcast like this is super energy rich, hanging out with communities super energy rich. My wife and I, just went and played pickleball and it's challenging and we're not very good, but it's energy rich and it's super exciting. And then in the work that we do, And we facilitate these extraordinary soul adventures. do these amazing retreats all over the world and bringing people together to drop into ceremony and to do like really intentional masterminding and to create these moments of just pure unexpected ecstatic joy. You know, that's what I love is just seeing how much my life can fill with these unexpected moments of spontaneity and creativity and wonder and wow. my gosh. I love that. I love that. So you've been leading these retreats Gerald since 2008, right? Yeah. Well, it's been a massive evolution since the first one and every year it just keeps like shifting and evolving as my soul evolves. yeah, leading live events and seminars has been like a really deep passion. What was it that originally pulled you towards this path of exploring the power of the mind and the human potential? think oftentimes our soul purpose is informed by our soul's greatest challenges, you know? Like I was a young real estate investor trying to figure out how to get rich and finding all of this like self-sabotage in between every that I was doing and I couldn't understand it. Like in my mind, I'm like, have all the potential in the world, but in reality, I would get nervous in speaking to people. would notice myself, you know, doing a ton of things that just like made it so challenging. I was like, so curious why. And that's when I discovered the world of these transformational events and seminars. And when I did, there was something about going to like a really well-designed transformational event that just lit my soul up. And it was like, It was there I could find big Gerald, know, this Gerald that was courageous and powerful and spontaneous and in flow. And that's like, these events gave me access to a different version of me than I knew outside of these events. so I think that's kind of why I became addicted to seminars and events and addicted to personal development is because I could feel the different identity of me emerge through this journey. I know I've definitely gotten to experience your magic for a long time. went to Peru, one of your Peru retreats in Machu Picchu. And I've been part of your community for quite a few years now. In your knowing you for so long, I actually don't know what it was. I hadn't heard the story of what actually got you into this. What was that moment or experience in your life where you realized the power of the mind and that this was. a path that you wanted to be on? think there's a couple of stages. Number one is the path of wanting to put on my own events that happened in 2008 when I had a mentor that just, he was leading this event and leading the seminar and I was helping him with some things and he just turned to me and asked this super simple question, right? He had no idea like what that question would unlock for me, but he just said, hey, Gerald, when are you going to teach your own event? And like me, I was like, who am I? Like, who am I to teach anything? I'm not. I'm not an expert. I'm not a guru. You know, I have all these areas of my life where I'm just still feeling stuck, but that simple question unlocked like a new possibility for me. And then a few weeks later, I woke up with one of those four o'clock in the morning ideas. Ever have one of those? Like, you wake up in the morning and it's like, I'm going to put on an event. I have this whole vision. you know, I was talking to a friend today who's built this, like he's in, in that like really intense period of building a big business, stewarding a big property and, and holding this big vision. And it's so intense. And I was like, thinking back to when I decided to do my first event, it's like, I am so glad that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. You know, I think there's such a gift. for entrepreneurs or creators, even parents, like it's so good we don't know what would actually be required to bring that vision to life. And there's this gift of being naive. There's a gift of being stupid, but hopeful, you know? There's a gift of just being like, ⁓ my gosh, why not? You know? And so I just jumped in head first and made. the most unbelievable mistakes you can possibly make and lost so much money and did all these things. But I found my purpose and I was like, ⁓ I guess this is, this is the path that I meant to be on. And then along that way, I decided I wanted to start gaining tools, you know, of how to serve people better and how to create breakthroughs and how to be a better leader. And, and so one of the tools I studied was hypnosis. And I had this goal, you know, one the New Year's goals, I think that the mark of a good new year's resolution is it's got to like, excite me and scare me at the same time. You know? And so I had this vision of doing a stage hypnosis show, you know, and, and doing this at my events and it terrified me. I had no idea how to do it, but I decided I'd do it. so I borrowed a three ring binder from a friend who had bought this hypnosis course. And I just borrowed his binder. This is back in the day. where, you know, you'd pay like 2000 dollars for the home study courses. So was literally a three ring binder with photocopied sheets with three old bunch. just like, it was like the manual of how to do. I remember this so well. And that's how I learned how to do a hypnosis show. And I would just practice in the woods behind my house in Oviedo, Florida. And, and then sure enough, three, three months later, I'm like, okay, I guess I'm going to do this. Actually, the first event I was supposed to do it, I was so terrified about doing it, I actually self-sabotage and I lost my voice the day that I was supposed to do it. Like my body was like so paranoid about doing this show. like, I created that experience where I completely lost my voice so couldn't do it. The next event that I did, I'm like, okay, this is no matter what. But I had to trick my brain. I think you guys appreciate it. It's like I had to trick my brain because I didn't know if it would work. You know, I've never. done this before and it might possibly be the most humiliating thing that I ever do. Can you imagine getting on stage and telling everyone you're doing a hypnosis show and then no one plays along and no one does trance and like, nevermind. So I had to, I had to convince myself is like, okay, worst case scenario, best case scenario, this works and it'll be so hilarious and so funny that I actually pulled this off. Worst case scenario, it bombs like hell and it's the worst experience ever and it'll be hilarious and I'll still win. So I had to trick my mind that either way it was going to be funny. Even if that funny meant me being totally humiliated. I was like, all right, I'm in, right? And so that was the gateway. now, you know, 15 years later, I've done that hypnosis show probably, you know, 200 times and it's endlessly hilarious. it's, and it's this really powerful access point to teach people how how the mind is more powerful than we can imagine. And it's just going along with a message of fun and bliss. Being able to teach that powerful principle through something as hilarious as a stage hypnosis show, it's so fun. So you ended up studying hypnosis and NLP and energy work and all of these modalities for your retreats and people. What did you, what surprised you most about what was possible for people through all of this? mean, it's just wildly bizarre. You know, the mind is right. How someone can be deathly afraid of snakes or they can be totally addicted to cigarettes. And literally within 10 minutes that phobia can be gone or that addiction to cigarettes can be completely erased. And it's just like. It's wild how much the mind has capacity to evolve and change when programmed and hacked. And just to know that there's these like secret tools to get beyond all of like the defense mechanisms of our ego. And it's always amazing to me what can be unlocked. So I'm just endlessly fascinated with our minds, but also with our potential. So good. For someone who's listening, who's new to this kind of work, why is understanding the mind and its potential so important for living a joyful, blissful life? mean, your subconscious is what drives your entire results in life, you know, your entire program. It's like what program you have on your computer, you know, that program is going to completely determine your output. And most people are totally ignorant. They don't even understand why. They think the way they do. They don't understand why they value the things they do. They don't understand why they're afraid of the things they're afraid of. They don't understand why they might have patterns or habits that keep sabotaging their relationships or keep sabotaging their money or keep them, you know, being unfit or unhealthy and at war with their body. They don't even understand like what the programs are inside of their brain that are keeping them hostage in a life that they don't want, you know? And so. For anyone that wants to pursue this life of a blissful existence, anyone that wants to pursue a life of fun and joy and ease and grace, it's important to know that there's programs that you can install in your brain that allow that to happen. I'm sure with both of you, like you probably both had times in your life where you experienced struggle and grind and stress and fear and And it required you to learn a new way of thinking, a new way of being to embody, you know, at a somatic level, this frequency of blessing in your life. so I think it's just important people know that change is possible, but then there's also, you know, essentially an honors manual to your brain to make it so it doesn't have to be honored. And what's so cool about that and what you said, Gerald, is that it empowers us. It gives us so much power because now We're not out of control of our lives. We're not at the mercy of our lives, but we have the power to make change through our own mind, which is what I think is the most fascinating thing of all, right? But sometimes people feel stuck and disconnected from the potential. And when that happens, what do you usually see happening in their inner world? There's a quote that I heard once. It's from this book called Psycho-Cybernetics by Max Wimelt. like when back in like the 19 f****s or something. But in that book, he shares his concept and he says, can never outperform your self-image. You can never outperform your self-image. know, someone can say, I want to make a million dollars. But if they're subconscious, if their self-identity is set at poverty or just getting by, then there's no way for them to reach that goal. And if they do somehow inherit or win a million dollars, then their whole nervous system is hardwired to sabotage and get rid of it as fast as possible. This is why most people that win lotteries, you know, within a very short time, almost all of them, not all, but almost all of them have completely wasted or gotten rid of or lost the money. Why? Because that's what their brain is hardwired to do. And so I think it's just like really important to understand that our brains have like a set The set point, it's like a thermostat. There's a certain level of comfort that we have in terms of how loved we are or how healthy we are or how much money we have in the bank. And until people upgrade their thermostat, they'll always be willing to keep repeating the same mistakes that kept them at that stage. What is one misunderstood truth about personal transformation or mindset work that you wish more people knew? When I first got into this work, I think I was seduced by the message that kind of just has been infused in so much of the personal development industry, which is this idea that there's something broken. You need to fix it and you need to do the work to become whole. Right? This is somehow this underlying message that most personal development books and seminars were built on. You know, it's like, Hey, you're broken. Do the work, get yourself fixed. And I think that was even for the first long time in my work, that was kind of the message that I would put out in my marketing is like, Hey, you're struggling with your money. Hey, if you're struggling to start a business, Hey, if you're feeling insecure and unconfident, Hey, if you're doing all these things and come here and you know, give you some tools to fix you. So that was kind of a paradigm that I was taught and like I accepted it pretty. wholeheartedly. Then I started doing plant medicine work, you know, and dropping in and doing experiences with ayahuasca and psilocybin and these other sacred medicines. And all of a I saw this entirely different paradigm open up. This realization that there is nothing broken nor that could ever be broken. You you and me at a soul level are perfectly whole and complete. It's actually would be impossible for us to be broken, but There's these overlaying programs on top of us that have us forgetting the truth of who we are. And in that forgetting, we buy into this idea of scarcity. We buy into this idea that we're not beautiful enough, or we're not talented enough, or we're not smart enough, or whatever that might be. That's not actually us being broken. It's us just forgetting the truth. And so the paradigm that I really have learned to embrace is this idea that healing is nothing more than remembrance. Now, healing is nothing more than coming back home to the truth that we were always divine and somewhere along the way we just lost that truth and we bought into this ridiculous illusion that we're human. It really is ridiculous. It's so comical. Utterly hilarious. If we're human, like it just... It just actually doesn't make any sense. We were like so bought into this illusion that in that human-ness we're like, ⁓ my gosh, I can't have the relationship I want. I'm not lovable. It's like, can you imagine God saying that? That's what we do as these divine gods and goddesses. We walk around the planet pretending like we have problems and it's hilarious. I just love that perspective. I can talk to you for... about that one, Jarell, but we're not gonna do that. You talk about the conscious, subconscious, and super conscious mind. These are terms that Monique and I are really familiar with, right? But most people listening might have some questions around that. So could you explain those in simple, relatable terms? Like what do those mean and how are they, you know, how do they affect us? I think this is really important just to understand that we have different parts of our mind that are responsible for different things. When we know this and it gives us, you know, a little bit of tools of knowing how to change it. The conscious mind is obviously what we're aware of in the exact moment. It's like what's showing up for her? What's present of it? When we're driving our car, it requires conscious mind to be able to do that. When we're reading a book, when we're talking to a friend, our conscious mind is absorbed in whatever's in front of us in that exact moment. But the conscious mind only represents probably less than 1 % of what's going on in our mind at any given moment. It's what feels most important because it's what's right in front of us, but it's only like the very, very thin layer of the top of the surface, like whatever's on the top of the ocean or like, love the analogy of the computer. It's like what's showing up on your screen in terms of the images, the pictures, the pixels, the colors, like that's your conscious mind. But the conscious mind only exists there because of what's going on underneath the surface, which is the subconscious. happening underneath the surface of the ocean or underneath the computer. It's, it's the hard drive, you know, where all of these memories are stored. It's the operating system, which is, know, your core blueprint or how you were taught to see the world. It's the, the programs that you've learned and the skills that you've developed. It's like the, the access to all of those different things that is what allows those pictures to show up on the screen the way that they do. And what's important to know about that is like the subconscious is driving all of our habits. It's driving all of our unconscious thoughts and preferences. It's driving our perspectives of how we see the world. But what's important about this is you don't actually see the world clearly. You have, you don't see anything clearly. We have all of these completely distorted perspectives of what's happening based on these preset programs that exist, right? And what's important to know about that is a lot of these programs aren't even ours. We took them on from the way that we saw our parents talk about money, or the way we saw our parents interact with each other. we? had a friend in school that said something and installed a certain belief about this. And this is why we like this brand of clothing. And this is why we think this brand is stupid. this is like we, whatever it might be, like it's all like this distortion based on these programs that most of us weren't, we weren't involved in the decision-making process when those programs were installed, right? Most of them happened before we were eight years old, before we had this conscious filter that says, That doesn't make any sense. know, parents talking about money is hard. It's like, that doesn't make any sense. Like we don't, I was like, that sounds like a lousy program. I don't want that program. I want the program where money's easy and money's fun and I can do it while living my poorest. I don't want the program that says I have to work hard nine to five with only two weeks of vacation until I'm 65 and then I can have some time off. Who, who said that was a good idea? We ask that same question all the time. Yeah, and so we call this BS, you know, which is means belief systems. Like we're taught all these belief systems that then generate all this friction in our world, but it all happens at an unconscious level. And so if we ever want to change what's showing up in the screen, what's showing up in our conscious reality, we have to change the subconscious blueprint, you know, and the purple ones are running. But then the third part of the mind is the super conscious. And this is the thing that probably fascinates me the most. You know, while the The conscious mind is what's showing up on the screen. The subconscious is, you know, the hard drive operating systems, programs, and all the memory that's happening to like generate that. The super conscious is the wifi network. It's access to all of this infinite wisdom all around us that goes way beyond what our conscious or subconscious minds understand. This is access to intuition. This is access to these supernatural gifts. This is why a twin living in New York can, you know, have an accident and his twin in Tokyo can like feel the pain of it or whatever it might be. Like there's endless examples of these supernatural things that happen. And then there's also these channels. You've heard of people that are like who channel wisdom or channel, you know, like Esther Hicks is a great example where she's channeling for this entity called Abraham. She's just tapping into the super conscious field so that this message that can come. through her and not from her. And what's important about that is when we really understand the metaphysical reality of life, then we recognize that we're all interconnected. There's this like web of energy all around us. There's this mycelial network that connects all human beings and all things and connects us to this divine source beyond what our conscious mind can possibly understand. And when we can actually tap into that, Unified field, which is what it's called, that FD reality or that oneness. It allows us to tap into like these, these miracles that go beyond understanding. This is why, you know, Dr. Joe Dispenza, have you followed or much of his work? So he's such a great example of like scientifically exploring how do you, how do you measure and, and, you know, validate this super conscious reality. But all of his work is to take people in a 3D state through meditation to access this. You know, this nervous system place where they relax and go through brainwave patterns. And when they enter this gamma brainwave, they tap into the super conscious field, which is the 5D. And this is why someone who can have stage four cancer can go into meditation, download a new code in that super conscious state, bring it into the reality. And when they wake up, they're completely cancer-free. Or they no longer have an autoimmune immune disease, or they, you know, they've had some miraculous healing of some other stories, just because that field of miracle exists when we can escape the, the bind that our ego has on our conscious reality based on these subconscious blueprints. It's just like downloading a different code. And then all of that becomes the reality. So good. So I mean, it's shift gears a little bit. I know you've. You've had experience guiding thousands of entrepreneurs and purpose-driven people over the years. What's one shift that tends to unlock the biggest breakthroughs? Well, all shifts are the same shift, and it's a shift in identity. Robbins talks about this, where he says, most powerful force in the world is our need to stay consistent with our identity. This is like the quote I just mentioned, you can never outperform your self-image. Our identity drives all of our behavior. It's the blueprint of our souls that then dictates how we act, how we respond, how we try, like how we show up. And if someone can actually do the work to shift the identity, and it can be the tiniest shift that makes the biggest impact. If someone can just simply go from, my gosh, life is hard to, wow, I'm great at having fun. Then all of sudden their whole life gets. shifted and changed because their identity got altered in that moment of finding a new belief they could land on and integrate. All shifts and change happened by shifting the way that we perceive ourselves, shifting the way that we talk to ourselves, shifting that. And surprisingly, it's remarkably easy, but it just takes understanding the mind and understanding how do we hack the subconscious so that we can start seeing ourselves. in a different way than we've seen ourselves in the past. James Clear in Atomic Habits talks about that in his very first chapter too, right? Is that you can't change your habits, you can't change the way you're living your life unless you change your identity. So it seems like it's a real fundamental shift that has to happen. Yeah, and it really begins by becoming more aware of how we speak to ourselves. you know, hypnosis was a big big part of my work for so long. And a lot of people would ask, know, can anyone be hypnotized? I'm like, everyone already is. Every single person is hypnotized or hypnotized to think you belong in certain places, you don't belong in others. Like you deserve certain things, you don't deserve others. If you like certain things, you like, don't like others. It's all hypnosis. And every time you turn on the TV, anytime you listen to someone in a uniform or a lab coat, anytime you listen to someone in authority, anytime you talk to your parents, they're hypnotizing you. The most powerful hypnotist in the world is you. The most powerful hypnotist are the words that you speak to yourself. And when someone realizes that our words are literally seeds that are creating our reality of our future, the frequency of our words, their energy, that we're depositing towards whatever we're speaking into, then the moment someone realizes that, then all of they become aware and conscious, what am I speaking life into? Am I saying, ⁓ my gosh, I'm so bad at money, why is this so difficult? The economy's shit. Are they speaking problems and challenges because they promise you do that, your garden's gonna be full of weeds, it's suffocating, whatever results can be though. But the moment we become intentional, remember that our words become. prophecy or words like spelling or a spell that we're casting. The moment we recognize that, then all of a we take greater intentionality and sovereignty to speak only those things which we desire. And the moment we do that, then all of a we speak to ourselves with greater loving kindness. And we speak into situations and challenges and rather than saying, ⁓ gosh, this is a problem. don't know, this is going to happen. And start saying, ⁓ wow, this is what an incredible growth opportunity we have. I wonder how this works out, we become curious and we start, start speaking us as like powerful problem solvers and creators who are sovereign and being able to shift and morph reality. And so I think that's the biggest thing is identity level shift of taking more ownership of the words that we're hypnotizing ourselves. Gerald, you've created like 190 or more seminars and retreats. What is it about the retreat environment specifically that creates? those magic moments of transformation. I really believe in the power of community and there's something you can't access by reading a book or listening to a course or watching something online. There's something that happens when you can come and be immersed into the field that's created by a really intentional community. And by field, I mean, there's this energetic resonance that we each have and kind of like see mentorship. different than I used to. And the way that I kind of view it is like each of us have certain codes, certain gifts, right? Like Monique might be really great at listed investing or really great at teaching people to have fun. And the moment you enter Monique's field, you have more fun, you laugh more, you smile more, and you think about investing in things in a different way because being in her field, like there's this like resonance and you're dumb. This is why quote you here so often, which is, You tend to be like the five people you hang around most. Why? Because their codes are energetically being shared by being in their presence. It's almost like codes are shared through this Bluetooth network, you know, and just being in frequency. And so when someone comes into our field and has emerged into an experience for three days, and during these three days, we take them on a journey and we help them unlock more of their potential and we help guide them through processes. And then we. drop into ceremony, when someone's in that field with us, instantly they feel more attuned to magic moments and becoming a magic moment millionaire. Instantly, they open up their heart and they feel the safety of belonging. Instantly, they can start attuning to a code that my beloved and I share, which is sacred union. And they can feel the frequency from us. And then all of a sudden the people around us start to have these deep aligned relationships. And all of sudden the people around us start to know, walk around the world just like, you know, being these magic moment millionaires which are like really, you know, seeking for these wow moments in life. And I think there's something that comes through a really well curated event or retreat that it's irreplaceable, you know. Three days in there is like equivalent to a hundred books you could read, you know. That's so true. And I've definitely experienced those magic moments in your retreats and just being in your presence. When I started to do my fun, and you've been witness to my daily fun, and I was sharing how doing this fun every day made me fall more deeply in love with my life. You said something that I love so much. said, your measure of success is how deeply in love with your life you are. And right now in this season of your life, how deeply in love with your life do you feel and what helps you? falling more deeply in love with it. love that. And I'm grateful for that reminder too, because I think it's really beautiful. It's funny how sometimes we're projected with all these ideas of what we think success should look like, you know? And so often that's measured by the house we live in or the car we drive or the amount of money in the bank account or, you know, how sexy or whatever. Like there's so many external measurements that we're projected this is how we should define success. But I... don't know about you, but I met a lot of wealthy people that are really miserable. You know, I've met a lot of like really sexy, beautiful models that are incredibly insecure and unhappy, you know? And so I just, for me, realized, ⁓ those are all bullshit measurements. You know, like that's not actually what I want. I want a life of fulfillment. want a life of... I want a life of wonder and wow and I want a life that I like I like wake up and I was like ⁓ my god, it feels so good to be me. I remember and it hasn't always been that way, you know, I used to be really critical on and really You know unhappy and all of these different things. I remember this very specific moment I was actually doing a psilocybin journey just all on my own I was kind of like going through some things and I remember having this moment where I kind of like looked inside my soul. I was like, I love it in here. I love, I love being me. This is awesome. Right? And it was like, I could feel like that internal playground of my soul from having arrived at this place where there was nowhere else I needed to go or nothing else I needed to become or nothing else I needed to be in. I think that's where this measurement of joy comes from is just like how in love with this moment can you be? And your question is interesting because I can feel, even as you say that there's some experiences in my life that are a little bit crunchy right now, right? There's some stress around work. There's some feelings like, ⁓ my gosh, I should be further ahead financially than I am. There's these things that I'm noticing as you ask that question. like, ⁓ I'm not at a level 10 right now. Shit. Okay, this is a great reminder for me to dial it back in. Loving this moment and trusting the future will evolve as it needs to be. So right now I'd probably say I'm a 9.28. And your question gives me a lot of opportunity to like be present with where am I actually choosing stress over bliss? And ask me tomorrow being a level 10. That's so good. He's like, I'm at a 9. What did you say? 8. My husband and I, do our measure of if we're over 70, then we're at least at the place that we are good with. So you're always striving for more, but 70 is like our bottom, you know? So like a 7.0 is our bottom. But so I love your 9.28 and I need to read it. I need to take a look at that. I need to look at it. Most of my life is just like, I'm just like really immersed and it's like, holy shit, like this is the, like I can genuinely say there's no one on the planet I would want to change places with, you know? And for me, that's like, that's how I measure success. It's like, I don't have a relationship that I see anywhere else in the world that I feel like is better than me and my beloved, right? And like that's... That's beautiful. And, and you know, I'm love with my body. I'm 51, but I'm fit and sexy and healthy and I'm feeling so good. Right. And so that's awesome. And just like this one money piece where I've just been like really looking at these really dumb decisions earlier Gerald made. I'm like, huh. And so I'm activating a little field of forgiveness for previous Gerald and a little bit more intentionality for present Gerald. So future Gerald can look back and say, all right, good job, man. You learned your lesson. I love that. Thanks for figuring that out. So, ⁓ current Gerald, you've been building your whole life and your mission with your beloved. Her name is Maya. Is that correct? Maya Rowe. Yeah. So that's actually such an impressive thing to stay in love and continue to call her your beloved as you've been building this together as real accomplishment as a couple. But what have you and what have you discovered about relationships and partnership and growth by going through this journey with her. Right. This is five additional podcasts right there. ⁓ two previous marriages of these really incredible and wonderful women, but I just didn't know. I didn't know how to show up for them. I didn't know how to love them. didn't, you know, I didn't understand myself well enough when I entered those relationships to make sure that they were the right match and in those relationships, I didn't know how to show up in my divine masculine and like really hold them in the way that they needed. And so it was rough to the point where at the end of my second marriage, I'm like, shit, I'm not made for this. I should never date a woman again. You know, like I was so wounded and so hurt and so like, you know, traumatized from the experience of relationships in marriage. I'm like, I don't. I don't know if this is meant for me. I don't know if I'm made for this, you know? And so to fast forward and to have this beautiful relationship right now where we get married every year. So we've been married six times. We go on honeymoons. We just got back from our 30th honeymoon. You know, we have this incredible love affair where it's just like rich and vibrant. Next week, we're leading a retreat in Hawaii specifically for couples called their sacred union retreat. You know, I think there's so much I could say about this, but I think the most important thing that is different for me in this relationship, outside of just making sure I have the right partner, is because that's important. Having the right partner, turns out, is actually really important. When you're the person, there's no amount of work, no amount of work that you can do to fix a relationship with the wrong person. Trust me, I've tried. But beyond being with the right person, what I've really discovered is the power of just constantly celebrating the relationship. And this is why we get married every year. This is why I propose to her every year. This is why we have a every year ceremony of love because when we do that, we're always courting engaged, know, fiancees or we're newlyweds the whole time. Like we're always in one of those stages and every one of those stages, the relationship's juicy and amazing and rich and beautiful versus My previous marriage where I just got used to her and we like just went through the motions, but we stopped really knowing each other because we weren't like actively invested in that cultivating and celebrating the newness of love. Loved watching you get married again and again and and honeymoon again and again. I love my friends are like that love at other friends are like, ⁓ my gosh, are you guys done yet? And I'm like, no, we're just getting started. Yeah, I love it. They're bailing out. Hey, we're getting married. We want you to come to our 50th wedding, you know. 50th wedding, you know. I feel like it's been more than once a year. Has it just been once a year? Once a year for the weddings, honeymoon though. The honeymoons are more frequent. We don't limit honeymoons to once a year. We have had 30 honeymoons over the last seven years. Oh, I love it. So I know we've talked about this concept of the blisciplines. What those habits that daily habits or ways of being that help you stay connected to joy clarity bliss. What are your bliss of ones? love, I love a couple of things. Number one, one of my bliss of plinths that I kind of use as my hack to like stay healthy. If it was just working out, I would be like so bored with that. If it was just running, I would be like, I'm not interested, but if I can find like a really fun fiction story to get lost in. I've done, I've done this thing for last almost two years where once a week I run six miles. do a six mile run, which takes about an hour, but I'm proud of myself for like being consistent with that. But my reason why I'm consistent because I have a story that I'm like, ⁓ my gosh, I only listened to it while I'm running. And so I'm so excited to like immerse myself in the story and the adventure and like the romance and whatever the story takes me on. So that's been a really fun, useful hack is. to stack a really addictive story with exercise and fitness. So that's been helpful. My beloved and I, have a couple, a relationship discipline where once a month, we'll block off an entire afternoon or an entire day for what we call an us day. And this is an opportunity for us to shut off our phone, shut off our TV, and we just like stay in bed all day long, all day long. Yeah, typically, you know, there may or may not be some psychedelics involved to enhance the experience, but it's just our day to like make love to each other and to like really celebrate and to tune in, tune into our purpose and what's alive for us and what's going on for each of our kids and the people in our world. And it's our time without any distractions to be immersed in the field and frequency of what we want. My wife loves sex magic, so it's her time to like, you know, explore all these like sex magic practices. So that's, that's beautiful. And then, ⁓ and honestly, just time that I get to spend with friends and like deep inspired conversation and just tuning in and just like that, that time to activate my soul by being with people that inspire me. are all amazing. So people that are listening today, if you can give them one discipline or one thing that they could try or practice to feel more alive and more connected with themselves and their own bliss. What would you invite them to try? So besides psilocybin, just kidding. We have a podcast called psychedelic sex on the super conscious. I'm a massive advocate of intentional use of medicine. So what I would encourage people to try is, yeah, just like really taking time in nature. to listen, you know, like there's, there's this gift of when we can get outside of our conscious and like all of the busyness of our mind and actually slow down and, like, just see what would happen if you slow down and go for a walk, find a tree that calls you and just put your hand on a tree and just slow down. it's like, what's your message for me? Just like pause long enough to listen and to just see like what messages like flow through you. When you don't have an agenda of what you think the message should be. So Gerald, we're coming to the end of the show. And so we've got sort of our speed round. ⁓ so we're going to ask you some questions alternatively, Monique and I, and just give us like a one sentence. What comes to you in the first moment after we asked the question. Okay. Okay. So the first one is what is your go-to joy spark when you need an instant joy boost? I'll go with my arrows. Love that. What's something that always makes you laugh? I love my friend Theo sends me the most ridiculous videos on Instagram. Like I have the whole thread of the most absurd and silly reels that she just like, she just knows what hits me every time. so I just like those Instagram reels from a friend that like really knows me. Love it. Yeah. And Cheryl, finish this sentence. Bliss to me looks like Monique and Monika. But for real, Monique, every time I think of her, she introduced me to this word, Blissaplan. And so the whole word, Blissa, has been branded to her for probably five years since I've known her. And so she's the embodiment of that. But it's also a beautiful reminder, the power of people in our lives that just smile a lot. yeah, Blissa looks like Monique, and now Monique, now that I know you. Thank you. So Gerald, what's the best way for people to connect with you to learn more about your work? I wish I had like an easier way. Like I kind of stepped away from social media, have no website. So I'm not a super accessible person. But I will say if there's anyone that feels called to step deeper into our world with Legendary or come to one of our retreats or to join us at Burning Man and if you really feel resonant like with this, like we are calling in Tribe. And so my calendar link to my private calendar is www.meetwithgerald.com. It's my private calendar and it's yeah, for Tribe that feels inspiring. And you're like, Hey, this, this feels like a Tribe I want to be part of this. These are the type of experiences I want to be around. I want to be around other soul driven entrepreneurs that are creating a difference in the world and you know, value fulfillment over, over money. No, that's so generous. Thank you for offering. That's amazing. you have a link? Which are up on you can remember it. Yeah. That sounds awesome. Gerald, this actually, do you have a free gift or resource you'd like to offer the listeners or was that amazing gift? thing I like if you go to our YouTube channel, if you've looked search for Gerald Rogers or legendary, you have So much deep soul wisdom that we've transferred there. There is very deep wisdom. from Gerald and Maya Rhodes. Definitely check that out. Gerald, thank you. That was incredible, as always. I love you, brother. Thanks for being here, hearts.
