speaker-0: Hi there, I'm Pastor Toot Whitley and this is Conversion Therapy, a podcast where I help lost lambs back to the heterosexual pasture. As you may know, I myself am a reformed homosexual. In fact, I once ran a dating service in Portland called He Done Already Done Had Transgenders, wherein I would match trans mask pillow princes with trans mask touch me knots. Now the only stone I'm concerned with is the one rolled away from the tomb where Jesus rose from the dead. This is usually the point of the episode where I introduce a gay comedian who I convert to straight with 100% success rate, I might add. But today we're doing something special. I've invited some religious figures from another house of worship to share resources and swap stories in the hopes of making both of our conversion practices stronger. So please welcome our guests today if you wouldn't mind introducing yourselves. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. I'm Brent Waffelhauser. ⁓ I run the Joyous Connection congregation over in West Hollywood. JCC. Exactly, the JCC. praise be. And this is my son, boy. speaker-2: ⁓ hi, I'm Kendall Buffelhauser. ⁓ my gosh, yes. I'm totally a part of the church. I love it so much. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. And you are also part of the church, of course. You know, that's really interesting. We don't normally have guests bring on their children, but it's clear that ⁓ the light of God is really shining through you and this is as important to you as it is to your father. speaker-2: Yes, I completely like look up to him and follow in his footsteps. speaker-1: I mean we teach about legacy over at the JCC. So I try to model that legacy every way I can by bringing my boy with me. I mean my boy's on my back twenty-four-seven, whether I like it or not. speaker-2: Hey. speaker-0: Yeah. That's a really beautiful connection you two have. You know this ⁓ as we know, as was ⁓ sort of ⁓ shown to us by God and Jesus, ain't ain't no relationship stronger than than a father and his son. So I wanna know a little bit more about the church of joyous connections. ⁓ I and I I wan I wonder if you could both speak to, you know, what your roles look like at church speaker-1: Exactly. Exactly. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-1: That was At the church. Well, to you know, ⁓ to be completely transparent, I was a little nervous coming on here today because, you know, we got old school, new school. Absolutely. A lot of, you know, men of the cloth take some issue with my approach. But you know, what we find at the JCC is is we wanna do social media driven God connection. Okay. Because the front lines of the holy war, it ain't just in the church anymore. You know, I grew up, you know, blood of the lamb, hellfire and brimstone, southern Baptist. They don't like me over there anymore. speaker-0: Wow. You know, I understand I can feel myself, you know, sort of ⁓ getting up on my haunches, thinking about all the things that need to be sacrificed in order to, you know, access an audience of young people. But I gotta say I'm happy to have you here to to discuss and learn from you 'cause part of the reason why we do this podcast is to follow in your footsteps in a sort of a way. You know, we gotta find a way to connect to our youth. There are Catholic youth youth all over this nation that don't have access to, you know, a sort of programming that decides that one thing is really good, another thing is really bad. the thing we specifically are saying is good, you're gonna go to hell. speaker-1: You gotta meet youth where where they're at. Yeah. If they they want they need to look up to you. You know, I've I've had other men of the cloth judging me for my drip, you know, is what we refer to as a desirable, fashionable clothing. I'm not sure. Yeah. speaker-0: So that's sort of your dress code at the church has always gotta have some sort of ⁓ as you call it, drip. Drip dripping. Everything's dripping. You seem very concerned with that, Kendall, the things continue to drip. ⁓ speaker-2: Yeah, it's drip right. speaker-1: It's dripping. Everything's dripping. speaker-2: Well yeah, I mean I I think that dripping is one of those things that it it doesn't come naturally to everyone and so ⁓ you really have to welcome people in ⁓ because not everyone might feel comfortable like expressing themselves like through clothing and and dripping clothes and and so so you wanna make sure that they have that speaker-0: Yeah, you're making it you're making drip accessible. Yeah. Which is I think a very beautiful thing to be speaker-1: Yeah. Well in a lot of our congregants they're very high profile people. Celebrities, you know, I won't name names, but the Biebers have come in. But it's people of that. The jenners have come in. You've got a lot of, you know, folks from the comedy space. They're very private, so I won't name them. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: I'm glad you didn't name any names. You know, and I will say, I've been seeing some posts on your social media account of this drip. You know, I f I think it's very powerful that, you know, you're teaching about Jonah and the whale while you're wearing like sort of like a shirt with a cause sculpture on it and wrap around oak leaves. Yeah. And you got sneakers that you pump up with your hands. Yeah, you know. And I've seen you in the back of those pictures too wearing sort of a snakeskin pant, you know, and a mesh shirt. Yeah. And and that is crazy how, you know, I I I c can imagine holes in a shirt's just speaker-1: More ⁓ speaker-0: A more porous membrane for Jesus to flow through you. speaker-1: Jesus can penetrate quite easily. speaker-2: I feel very, very connected to Jesus, to my fellow congregants. I feel like when I embrace people, when I'm saying, ⁓ like hi, like nice to see you and we're touching skin to skin, it feels better that way. speaker-0: That's beautiful 'cause y we are in in ⁓ if I may speak from the old old school perspective, we are ⁓ consuming the body of Christ. So why not feel the body of your fellow man while you're in church? I think that's normal. speaker-1: I mean if God is in everybody, which to can I say I have faced so much mockery, mm, derision, hatred from the old school. Wow. So the fact that you brought me in here and extended this olive branch, it means the world to me. speaker-0: To Lily, please. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: That's you know, I think that's really powerful. 'Cause one of the things that we don't really get as men of the cloth is to connect with each other in sort of intimate and central ways in the eyes of the Lord. Yeah. And I think just having y'all in here, you know, just two dripped out ⁓ men, both young men I might say. You're over eighteen, that must be. Well, okay. Well, you know, then I think that's something really special we're gonna be doing in the church. So I'm actually qu kinda curious, what's a typical day of worship look like over there for you guys? Not necessarily, you know, from the morning wake up, morning go to sleep, but speaker-2: Just barely. Okay. speaker-0: I think your routines, your personal routines, do influence, you know, how you practice a sermon, how you bring people in. So I'm just curious. speaker-2: Yeah. Well, I mean, I usually start my day. ⁓ I lead the chapter of young w we call it the the blood flowing group. ⁓ it says young blood flowing flowers. Yeah, the flowers. and ⁓ water imagery. Yeah, yeah. And and it that's a space where we really get our heart rates up, we get our blood flowing. And ⁓ usually ⁓ I I teach two different sections of that. One of them is ⁓ it's on like stationary bikes. So some people call it like a spin class. ⁓ but I I ⁓ usually teach that with a lot of choreography, a lot of dancing. ⁓ that's all men. And I'm leading that class. Yeah. speaker-0: And you're leading that class. Yeah, I actually think I've seen a picture of that. You got ⁓ spendex shorts on. speaker-2: Yeah, all the better you know, because afterwards we really ⁓ we embrace, we stretch together, we ⁓ we feel each other's hearts race. Yeah Okay, yeah. I mean I did master a double flip on the bike, so I speaker-1: This boy can move. This boy can move. speaker-0: That is incredibly take a jog around the church three, four times, mostly looking for, you know, detritus left behind from the most recent picnic, sort of a old Dixie cup or maybe a plastic fork jammed into the garden. But ⁓ I I could get my exercise on a bike, that's for sure. speaker-1: You gotta come. Yeah. Gotta come. That's for sure. speaker-2: think it's a lower impact, you know, I mean we're not y young as like even Yeah. So ⁓ the the nice thing about the bikes is it's really all age range. Like, you know, we have sixteen year olds up to sixty year olds and it's a really, really beautiful space and we play all kinds of upbeat music. ⁓ speaker-0: ⁓ forty to fifty years. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Yeah, and you know, I I've actually heard that you you've sort of ⁓ started ⁓ weaving your way into the fabric of ⁓ of Christian pop. I've heard that that's something that's ⁓ sort of an interest to you. And I'm just wondering, do you ever play any your songs in class? speaker-2: ⁓ you know, it's so funny. Everyone keeps asking me to. ⁓ I'm a little bit shy about it. ⁓ just because, you know, it's so vulnerable to share your insides with someone. Like it is very I I worry like will the beat drop hard enough for people to really be able to lise to it? You know, will the lyrics matter to someone who's maybe never felt the rush of a convertible on the 405? You know what I mean? I I don't know. Like I want it to be universal. speaker-0: Pop music doesn't normally touch those things when they're driving fast or or or you know, feelings. And I think specifically through the eyes of somebody who follows ⁓ the word of Christ, that can be very powerful, perhaps even, you know, emotionally overwhelming. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-2: Yeah, and I wanted to overtake people but I don't want them to be s scared of me if that makes sense. speaker-0: No. I mean I do if you if you would just sort of ⁓ treat us to maybe like a little clip of part of one of your songs just kinda provide for us just a little bit. speaker-2: Okay. ⁓ all right, let's see. Hold on. Ooh. Rough when I like it and then when I don't Rough in the mornings when I see you above. ⁓ speaker-1: Me above me. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-1: Mm. speaker-0: Wow, that was really beautiful. Thank you. It I ⁓ speaker-2: It's just a snippet. Like there's a chorus and then but I'm pre-chorus. speaker-0: Before you Yeah. speaker-2: cars driving down the highway, I guess. Right. speaker-0: But that was really beautiful. I I found the music to be incredibly touching and moving. And I will say, you know, old school to new school, we've been singing those hymns for a long time. Uh-huh. So the idea of being able to fold in, you know, new messages that sort of reach our yeah our younger congregants, that's that's important stuff. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-2: I think young people these days they wanna be like grabbed and shaken and tossed around, you know. And I don't think that Yeah, like I you know, I wanna be thrown across the streets. And I don't feel like you necessarily get that in some of these old fashioned No offense. speaker-0: Man handling. No, no, you know, I can understand that. Listen, listen, I'm there every day. I'm doing this all the time. It's it would be ⁓ it would be sinful for me to act as if I haven't recognized that, you know, we've been day in, day out doing the same things. And it's not saying that we wouldn't keep on doing those songs, those sermons, but we should be updating them, you know, because I was doing a service the other day, we were talking about temptation. And you know, I was going back to Garden of Eden, which you know that's the number one original sin and really, really ⁓ easy way into sin. But ⁓ you know, I've Heard that you've been doing sermons on temptation. We're talking about all sorts of things. Now you're talking about temptation sort of as a celiac to eglutin. Yep. Or temptation as ⁓ you know, somebody who ⁓ has a Tesla but was like really wants a Bugatti. You know, you've been talking about all sorts of things. Yeah, you know, I'm I'm curious what what was the center of your most recent service, if I might ask? You know, the sermon you were giving to the people just the other day. speaker-1: All sorts of things. Mm-hmm. ⁓ it was greed. It was greed, you know. As I'm sure you know, I'm subject to a constant barrage of attacks, you know, people accusing me of of horrible things, ego, greed, specifically, and what I want my congregants to come away from sort of my lessons and not my lessons, his lessons on greed. speaker-0: Amen. Praise be. speaker-1: Is greed is about when you have a lot but you don't share it. I have a lot, but having a lot allows me to give. You see? So I I I think, you know, a lot of the the old schools got it all wrong about it's not about how much you have, it's about whether or not you share it. speaker-0: Absolutely. speaker-1: Every day I'm toiling the soil of God's love. Okay. I'm running my men's groups. I'm I'm pushing out the content. I have a group right now in my backhouse of seven Christ centered influencer content creators. And you know what they're doing all day? They're making dance trends. Wow. That spread God's love. They're remi we were talking about music. I've got Diplo in there toiling away in the studio. You know what he's remixing? ⁓ come all ye faithful. You know that one? I think you know that one. Uh-uh Drop the base now Come all ye faithful faithful faithful faith faith faithful I mean speaker-0: That's really gonna reach a lot of the years. speaker-2: ⁓ Yeah. And that's a cross. speaker-0: And then you sort of added a cross in there. Yeah. Wow. You know, I love that you formed sort of a a ⁓ a Christian TikTok house ⁓ out of the back of your own Wow That's really beautiful. I I it again, like, you know, we're reaching thirty to sixty five people who are coming in for mass every day. You're reaching thousands and thousands, you know. Thousands of social media. speaker-2: Yeah. ⁓ speaker-1: Two millions. speaker-2: Yeah. We had ⁓ the last ⁓ the last dance trend ⁓ we have pinned on our profile if you wanna check it out. ⁓ we reached four point five million viewers. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Four point five. Wow. Thirty two K uses of the sound. speaker-0: And you know what? I think that that's beautiful because we are constantly worried about saving the souls of our young people. You know, they are at risk of going to hell. That's part of r the reason why we do the work we do specifically in conversion therapy. We want those young people to get into the gates of heaven. That's an important thing for us. So the idea that you potentially saved like millions of souls with these videos. ⁓ speaker-1: You can't get me. speaker-0: that ⁓ you know I know there was an article put out recently that kind of ⁓ examined the spending of the Joyce Congregation Church, you know. and and that was, you know, a a barefaced attack. You're very s becoming sort of very shy as I'm talking about speaker-2: I I know. speaker-1: It came for Kendall specifically. Right. It came for and I'll tell you what, the devil works harder but Brett works harder. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. I don't doubt that, you know. 'Cause I think, you know, the way that they broke down the spending there, they were talking about how, you know, about ⁓ you you ask for every congregant to ⁓ donate a a money amount of money between five hundred thousand to four to five million dollars. Yeah. And that you say that this is going to go into, you know, creating more men's groups as you call them. Yeah. ⁓ the sweat and stuff men's group where you all, you know, hold hands and pray in a sauna. Yeah. ⁓ or the ⁓ big oily lubed up men's group where it's about sort of getting each other's speaker-1: I mean, well yeah, it's about lessons of the flesh. It's a lesson of the flesh because the th the thing of sins of the flesh is no matter how hard you grip onto them, they'll slip out. In and out. Slip out. Like a bar soap in the hand. So yeah. speaker-0: You know, and you've got a lot of critiques. Yeah, you're saying that th there that is where the funding's going, but you know, I think this expose really focused on the fact that like, you know, a couple sermons ago, ⁓ you were wearing ⁓ wearing a watch that could be valued at about seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. And the thought is if you're spending all your time in the church, you know, where might that funding be coming from? And those attacks must be very hard to face, and especially as a family. Like, do you find that it affects your ability to interact with congregates when stories like this are coming out? speaker-2: I mean, I think we're very lucky in the the congregants that are more impactful or ⁓ the ones that are more on I don't want to say on our side but are more aligned with you know, ⁓ I think that they like are really supportive and so, you know, they were still coming to my classes, they were still, you know, like embracing me at at ⁓ services and things like that. But I think that yeah, I mean it's really hard when people sort of decide that you're the enemy just because you are, you know, because you wanna like get a yacht for your your birthday don't cry what don't cry a normal thing like to want to party with my friends and I and express myself and and buy the boots, you know like buy the boots that I like like so speaker-0: And that's so hard. I'm sorry, I don't mean ⁓ to make you get emotional. It's really tough to be talking about every young young boy should have access to, you know, going on a yacht with his friends and having a big pair of boots that are, you know, sort of like a mo a new moon boot. ⁓ speaker-2: Yeah, for them and they've got laces that go. speaker-1: But these amazing ⁓ you press a button springs come out, shoot you up closer to God, I might add. speaker-2: Mm-hmm. And I was so excited to debut them at at services, but speaker-1: And you will boy. No, it what what what really frustrates me is well number one, they're acting like, you know, it's some big secret I'm wearing Balenciaga, baby. The logo's right there every Sunday. The logo's right there every Sunday. I'm not hiding Jack, may I say? Shiz. Wow. I'm not hiding Jack Shiz. Number two speaker-0: It's true. Absolutely. speaker-2: He's not he doesn't hide anything. speaker-0: Sh is hidden. speaker-1: Money is a blessing. Thou who is anointed by God is the most blessed. Yes. That's in the Bible. Mm-hmm. So all these, you know, vulture.com. I mean, that's a great name, because that's what they are. Vultures. ⁓ Vultures. Expose. Tell my congregants something they don't know. Tell my 2.7 million followers across platforms that you know, they see the logo. They know it. They know it, Pastor Brexit. I'm sorry, the young people, you know, with all due respect to, they're not gonna be listening to some schmuck with a white square on his neck. You know? They're not gonna be speaker-0: I mean some some might, some might, some do but I do under speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-2: mean I have one of like I have one of those collars, it just doesn't have a shirt attached. Right. It's just colour. It's just a collar. Yeah, and like people definitely listen to me when I wear speaker-0: It's sort of like a halter situation. speaker-1: Just a call. Well, there's this place he's always going, he's always preaching. ⁓ I didn't tell you mom and I were looking at your phone. You're always going to the Abbey. And ⁓ speaker-0: Like a okay, like the Abbey, like you know, where nuns might go. speaker-1: Yes, yes, yes, yes. And he's always wearing that exact kind of thing when he's going to the Abbey. And I just think like it it's it's old school versus new school. New school. You know, we all got old school versus new new school. New school speaker-0: Nude school. So that's what you've been nude school. Old school and well, 'cause a lot of your sermons, at least in your men's groups, really do revolve around nudity. Yeah. So I would say old school versus nude school, that's for sure. speaker-2: So I'm not speaker-1: If you can't be naked in front of God, who can you be naked in front of speaker-0: Absolutely. I mean he's seen you naked. Yeah. He's seen he's seen your naked soul on Frank. speaker-2: He prefers you naked. speaker-1: He prefers you naked. speaker-0: ⁓ okay, so we're gonna do maybe I thought it might be fun to do a little little ⁓ game together, build some new ways to worship together. So I prepared a game called Word at a time prayer. So we'll just go down the line and say one word at a time. I I'll start us off. I have some words that might inspire, and ⁓ we'll build some new prayers here together, you know? Okay. Love speaker-1: I'm ready to receive. speaker-2: Is speaker-0: Our speaker-2: Stomachs. speaker-1: Until Jesus. Me. Okay. speaker-0: Jesus. speaker-2: Touches. speaker-0: Well I do think that that I think that I think that was very beautiful. okay we went we did go nude school with that quite a bit at the end. Alright, but that's okay. I think that's gorgeous what we just built together. I'd love to do another one. I think listen, we can only go up from here. Yeah we started somewhere gorgeous and I think we're gonna go go go somewhere. Okay. Satan. speaker-1: This one let's make it good. speaker-2: Stick straight up. Doesn't if a nice speaker-1: Care You are a stupid ball who dances his takes speaker-0: Boy Alone Room Off Hat When He Well I mean it there's only one thing to say here. Aroused. Yep. Same doesn't care if you're a nice boy who takes off your hat when you get aroused. You know, that's a really important lesson to learn. speaker-2: In and his speaker-1: He gets Just getting On or off the arousal's the problem. speaker-2: The overhouse is the problem, and you can't hide it with your hat. speaker-0: No no. Okay, I got a couple more here. All right. speaker-1: Start. speaker-2: Loves. speaker-1: Me. speaker-0: When I my and speaker-1: Take off rub it. speaker-2: Skin. speaker-0: Clean. Truth loves me when I take my skin off and rub it. speaker-1: You know, I've been thinking a lot about taking your skin off the rock. ⁓ no, but I've been thinking about going down to that sort of mythical river and washing yourself clean, taking your flesh, hanging it out to dry. You know what happens when you take your flesh out and hang it out to dry? It becomes tighter. speaker-0: That's true and it's really important to be tight. Really s just sort of tight. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Glove like fitting skin. That's what I'm going for. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: Yeah. I feel like the the tighter you are, ⁓ the more ⁓ turgidly you're holding God's message in. speaker-2: And and how ⁓ it's so much harder for bad energy to get in. ⁓ speaker-0: Yeah. It's true. It it acts as a sort of barrier the tightness. Yes. I say this to all the men who come through ⁓ my conversion therapy program as I'm saying, We're gonna get you tight, first of all. We're gonna make sure you're tight when you leave here. speaker-2: Easy. speaker-1: I imagine a lot of the men you work with come in pretty loose. And speaker-0: Yeah. You know, as reformed homosexual myself, it was a whole an entire journey to sort of make sure that my anatomy was being ⁓ reassessed yeah and and updated in order to serve God in my most powerful way. And loose to tight. That was part of it. That's ⁓ well before, you know, I was doing all sorts of things. Like I've been known to run around town with sort of daddy's twinks, otters, bears, polar bears, you know. speaker-1: Yeah. You or which what are those? speaker-0: So these are all elements of homosexuality, sort of nicknames that could be given to different groups. So Bear's kind of like a a bigger, hairier guy. No, no, you know, I this is part of it though, is I've had to I used to be like really hairy, I had big strong pegs, sort of rippling abs, or big rock hard ass tight little all. And you s you're interested in that? You're s sort of hearing that ⁓ with interest? You're drooling a little bit. speaker-2: No I sorry. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: ⁓ and I would be and and I would be sort of drenched head to foot in hair. ⁓ and I will say I was popular out there, you know. Toot had a nickname to him about him. It was like ⁓ two time two because you could never get enough the first time. Well, you know, ⁓ I was in homosexual relationships that were based off of ⁓ open sexuality, so I was there was no cheating to be had, but that's part of speaker-1: You were cheating. Like polygamy. speaker-0: Exactly. Which, you know, is I think a part of a l ⁓ a quite a few religions, but it's not a part of mine. I I think, you know, you know, when you're when you're homosexual all all sorts of doors are open to let sin in and ⁓ so now I'm in a I I ⁓ because I'm a man of the cloth, ⁓ I don't have anyone special in my life, but I rid myself of the body hair, you know, I've worked my hardest to get rid of ⁓ my rippling muscles and ⁓ I've I've kept my whole type though, you know, because very really important. Yeah. Lack of the different categories of well, you probably fall into a twink territory, you know, just sort of sm small, slight, young speaker-1: That's why people have been commenting on those videos. Twink. I'm like, what is this? A snack I I never heard of? ⁓ speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah, so you'd probably be a twink and I'm sure, you know, ⁓ you'd have all sorts of interests of men who were looking sort of pass you around six ways to Sunday. But ⁓ you know, as we know, you're not you're not doing that. You're sort I mean you're spending your weekends over at an abbey with some nuns. Yeah. You're a ladies' man. You're ladies. speaker-1: Yeah, I got My son is a ladies. I mean, he's gotta deal with temptations of the flesh all the time 'cause the ladies are all over him. speaker-0: Yeah, have you you know, and there listen, you're not a man in the cloth yourself. Is there any been anyone special? Any special young ladies who've sort of caught your eye? You've been spending speaker-1: Whose panties did I find in your drawer the other day? speaker-2: ⁓ no no win special yet. ⁓ just I yeah, that was just Mary, my friend Mary. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: Mary, that's a very holy name, Mother of Jesus. speaker-2: Suzanne. speaker-0: Mary Class. speaker-1: Now that is a name. That is a name Suzanne. speaker-0: Mary Suzanne w how do what do you do when you're together, you know, you and Mary Suzanne? What kind of conversations do you have? speaker-2: ⁓ we w ⁓ well, we watch movies. ⁓ and speaker-1: Mm. speaker-0: I know that movie when you're yawning. Put your arm round her shoulder. You marry Suzanne killing up nice and close, but you're picking some horror movies. speaker-1: Mary Suzanne. speaker-2: Yeah, I mean really she's putting her arm around my shoulder 'cause a bit taller than me. speaker-0: That's good. speaker-1: Mm. Okay. speaker-0: Okay, well that's fine. It's kinda nice to have a lady who there hey, there ain't nothing wrong with being short. Just means you have to stretch harder to reach the lore. And I know you're doing that. speaker-2: I stretch really, really well. speaker-0: That's gorgeous. All right, you know, I am curious, old school new school style. Over on my end, you know, we have things like altar boys who are tending to, you know, the body of Christ, the blood of Christ. We have things like communion, like the Eucharist. And I'm sort of curious, what are you doing new school style over there? Like do you have something that swaps in and out for for what what what are you working? Yeah. speaker-1: We have interns. We have interns. ⁓ Well, it's rigorous too. I I'm sensing a tone. It's rigorous. And ⁓ toot, I'll get ya. Just kidding. We got interns. ⁓ a lot of them, they come from various sort of ⁓ seminaries. ⁓ that they're filtering in their their best and their brightest, and they're most cutting edge students to me. And you know, I I'm just all about hands-on experience. So they're, you know, they're setting up the the Ice bath for the ice plunge. Right. Which happens every sermon. They're you know, cleaning off the sauna, they're finding the leaves that we use to whack people's backs with and the sort of men's sweat. They're erecting the yurts. They're laying out the flower arrangements on the ground for our women's picnics. You know, they are picking up my dry cleaning. Wow. They are preparing our meals, you know, they're watching my nieces and nephews. They're they're doing all kinds of stuff. speaker-0: Making sure this church is running, you know. It's exactly that's ⁓ really ⁓ important. speaker-1: Swinging a chain with smoke coming out of it. speaker-0: Yeah. I mean ⁓ we use speaker-1: choking everybody making their eyes run. Do you I'm just playing with you two speaker-0: That's okay. You know, I could take it. I could take it. I got the Lord at my back and Jesus at the front and sometimes Barry on one side, Holy Ghost on the other side. Yeah, exactly. Two sandwiches. You know, that el that also used to be something I did before. Different meaning, of course. ⁓ speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: But you know, I have noticed, you know, obviously I use sort of a smoking incense ball to kinda cleanse the church, you know, offer the spirit of the Lord back into ⁓ the vestibule of our of our, you know, gorgeous Saint Paul's Cathedral, which our gor gorgeous church. Yeah, you know, I'm a man of cloth, but I also did, you know, four year college program as well. But that was back in my homosexual days. ⁓ it was actually at ⁓ at Yale. I actually did go to Yale. speaker-1: Make words. speaker-0: Yeah, unfortunately, absolutely. Yeah, more like, you know, you are licking and you know ⁓ speaker-1: Well and they're they've got that that East Coast intellectualism. They really can get inside your head and you don't know which way's up or down. All you know is you're bent sideways. speaker-0: That's for sure. I will say, you know, w in the church as you mentioned we do sort of have a a metal ball with some ⁓ incense in there. I saw that you guys use a different scent, so you kind of you're spritzing centau thirty three around the church. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, we're sp we're splitting Santel 30. I mean we've got a lot of different I mean this is also something that I think, you know, new school versus old school is we have partnered with so many amazing brands. Los Angeles based brands, many of them women owned, I might add. Wow. Domingo Estate does all of our hand soaps. Yep. You know ⁓ Shay Mitchell off of Pretty Little Liars. She has this new upholstery business, all of our pews. speaker-2: Lingo S D was speaker-0: Wow, hand soap, really. ⁓ yeah. Wow, your pew's upholstered. That is a luxurious experience, you know. I have to admit, the hard pew, you know, though it does remind me of the asceticism I need to practice to access my love for the Lord, to sit on something kind of hard, uncomfortable, wax to the point where I'm essentially slipping off every time I try to sit down. I do think at some in some way I could benefit from a little bit of this, you know, cashiness or this sort of ⁓ softer touch as an access, you know, 'cause once you're relaxed, that's when, you know, you can loosen up to kind of allow yourself to be fully Exact. speaker-2: And makes it feel like you're in your living room. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. And I mean our congregants, they're giving us twenty-five to ninety-nine percent of their income. So they expect a certain caliber of bench, you know? Them hard them hard pews won't cut it. speaker-0: Mm. I think that's very fair. You know, I was curious outside of mass, I know you've talked about, you know, your men's groups sort of work out groups, cold plunges, you know. What kind of ⁓ events are you doing by way of like we sort of do like a church picnic or we've done a spaghetti dinner around Christmas? You know, we have everybody down here to the basement of the church. Here we are in the basement of Saint Paul's and we set up some tables and you know, we have some ⁓ mothers in the community make tomato sauce. ⁓ what kind of events are you doing over there to kind of speaker-1: Good question. Well, so we've our rectory, it's up in the Hollywood house, and we got a big old pool, big old jacuzzi, big old sauna, sauna, big old outdoor kitchen, you know, full full staff of interns, everything. So we just like to get together because we may our congregation may be 3,000 strong, but we're a little church. We're a little speaker-2: The sauna we just got the sauna, yeah. speaker-0: A little church at heart. speaker-1: Little church at heart. Yeah. And you know, I mean that's part of why we had our big our big telethon because we just we wanted to our the first rectory that was in Beverly Hills, flats. It it was beautiful, nice, yeah, four bedroom home. But it ⁓ we wanted to be able to host, you know, 'cause like I said, we got the back house. Yeah. That's where we've got our content creators. speaker-2: Twenty four seven. speaker-0: About twenty four hours a day you just have a bunch of speaker-1: Yeah. ⁓ speaker-0: You part of the expose I was talking about earlier didn't just talk about ⁓ the money you were spending, but they were saying that some of the footage from that twenty four hour camera leaked and that those interns were sometimes wearing sort of a shock collar, you know. And if it seemed like maybe they were sleeping past their allotted fifteen to twenty five minutes they'd get a little zap so they'd ha you know, come speaker-1: Too as a Catholic man, I don't know why you would be ⁓ coming at my neck for this kind of thing. Because we were inspired by the type of things that y'all do. It's yeah. Well and all It's so interesting, you know, Vulture ran this article trying to expose me and my brethren but they couldn't get one. speaker-0: True, you know, Jesus did have a crown of thorns. speaker-2: They're honored to wear the collar. speaker-1: of my content creators to come and speak out against me. Wow. Hm. Mm-hmm. Some interesting. It's just interesting. speaker-0: Yeah, you know, some might argue that they might have felt a pressure not to speak out given that, you know, physical violence has been enacted, but it could also be that their connection to you is just so powerful. speaker-1: Well, they're running through about fifty pounds of oats a month, so speaker-0: Yeah, you know, the feeding bags were an interesting part of that expose. ⁓ but I do think what you're doing over there, it's clearly working, you know. That content is reaching people, so one must say, you know, which is the lesser of two evils, you know? A handful of fifteen to twenty one year olds, you know, just sort of dancing till like there's not a not a the b ⁓ the blood was stayed. speaker-2: The blood was staged. It's not real. speaker-1: Yeah, I mean listen, I'll just say it. The crux of the article was our 5K broken glass crawl to Jesus. And you know what? The five K The 5K broken glass crawl of Jesus is something, you know, I have even got That's ⁓ okay. speaker-0: Sponsored by Tough Mutter, I heard. speaker-1: But when six to eight beautiful blonde boys with a combined social media falling of twenty-five million wanna crawl through five kilometers of broken glass in the Malibu Mountains, all to show their love and raise awareness for starving children at our sister congregation? speaker-0: I love that it was raising awareness. speaker-2: People don't know. speaker-1: Raising awareness for the starving children at our sister congregation in Johannesburg? Mm-hmm. Then it's a problem. Okay. Sure. No. Okay. And we live in the upside down world. But that's the thing. Is when everyone around you is crazy, the one sane person, they're the zealot. Okay. speaker-2: I don't know why that's a problem. speaker-0: Yeah, that's true. You know, it's pretty crazy to think that people would be speaking out about young boys dragging their bodies across glass for five speaker-2: Yeah, you know it is. speaker-1: But they sure are aware of the starving children at our sister congregation in Johannesburg. speaker-0: They sure are, wow. So you you're gonna sort of be diverting any funds over there? speaker-2: Definitely no. speaker-1: Well the funds are paying for the surgeries, but you know after f after five K of crawling, it turns out the glass gets embedded a lot deeper than we thought. speaker-0: Right. speaker-2: The shards were tied. speaker-0: Exactly, and opening a wound. speaker-1: Well and that's why sometimes you can't have interns do everything because we had those the seminary interns smashing the glass and I said not too small And we'll you'll work on speaking up better next time. speaker-2: I was watching them and they were just like going crazy with They weren't listening. speaker-0: Okay, well, you know, it does sound like your programming is very far reaching. You know, it's been covered in a lot of major ⁓ tabloid magazines, but also you've had TV specials about your congregation. The people who, as you said, attend your congregation, they have no small following. They're speaking to their followers too on social media. It does feel like you're helping us you're in a new wave of Christianity, of Catholicism, especially here in Los Angeles, which regardless of the means, you know, by which you get there, I have to say I admire. speaker-1: ⁓ huh. speaker-0: Quite frankly, it is really impressive the work that you're doing. And part of the reason why I was hoping to have you on is to discuss old school, new school, what your conversion th ⁓ therapy program is like. Because you know, over on our end we're working with ⁓ masculinity ⁓ expert Skid Beef, who of course has his own following. Skid Yeah, yeah I I've heard you and Skid go way back. speaker-1: We go way back. He's come through. He's come through. Yeah. speaker-0: That's gorgeous. You know, and I'm glad to hear that. And then we also have on the other side our femininity coach, Vanessa Thigap, you know, of course of the ⁓ of the Thighgap Women's Group who also also does sort of ⁓ they sell ⁓ vitamins and makeup as well. Sort of like ⁓ the scheme's sort of like a sort of like a rhombus. Uh-huh. ⁓ but in any case, ⁓ those are the people who we're mostly working with and then it's me who's face to face with all these people who are coming in for therapy. So I'm quite curious, what does your programming look like? speaker-1: Well, first of all, we don't consider it conversion therapy because, you know, of course that term is so stigmatized. People hear that their eyes roll back. They're not listening anymore. Conversion implies going from one thing to another. But the promise of homosexuality, the the satisfaction of the flesh was a mirage to begin with. You can't convert from something fake to something real. You know, it's it's more of a a de programming from the homosexual cult, from the gender cult. And you know, this is something, you know Reporters think they ⁓ they gotcha. They got me because they ⁓ we're new school. We're supposed to somehow be pro-homosexual. But we look the scripture it says God loves everyone, but he ain't letting just anyone into heaven. speaker-0: You know, that is very true. I haven't thought about it that way where it is true that there's not a person who doesn't walk in Christ's light, really does, you know, praise his name, love everybody. But many a story discusses who is, you know, sorted into the yes you're going to heaven or no you're not pile. speaker-2: Yeah, yeah, and they are piles, you know, they're they're piles of writhing, breathing people touching each other. speaker-1: I mean it's awful. You read about it and it's it's it's everybody's screaming, everybody's like wet. Chaotic and not like they just did a sweat lodge. speaker-2: No, no. speaker-0: Mm, which, you know, you seem particularly disgusted by the idea of wet screaming people. speaker-2: Each other. Yeah, I mean I I think that when it's disorganized, like when you don't all have like a collective ⁓ mission which is like, you know, maybe to burn calories or to, you know, sculpt your body. You know, or y if you're not dancing then maybe you shouldn't get be on the dance floor. speaker-0: Yeah, absolutely. If you know, and God does as we you know said earlier in the prayer we said together, you know, when you're alone and you take your hat off, that's when God's with you the most. I'm pretty sure it's what we said. Which is very beautiful. Okay, well actually I was thinking we could play another game. Yeah. ⁓ I thought we'd have a little fun. We could play a game called I Like My Prayer Like I Like My Blank. So I'm gonna list some categories and we'll try to cleverly link them back to our prayer practices. So, like as an example, our first category will be beverages. Okay. I like my prayer like I like. I like my coffee first thing in the morning. Mm-hmm. Just something something a little slight, like in beverages. Any beverage you could do. speaker-2: Real sweet. ⁓ I like my prayer like I like my ⁓ Diet Pepsi bubbly and filling my mouth. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, okay. That's beautiful. Yeah, sort of the the light of the Lord, the the effervescence of the Lord in your mouth. speaker-1: I like my prayer, like I like my whiskey. New school. Burns on its way down, but feels so good coming back out. speaker-0: That's very powerful. That's very powerful. ⁓ I might even say, okay, ⁓ I like my prayer like I like my hot chocolate. L little too hot at first. But if you let it cool down, it'll warm you right up. Yep. That's beautiful. Really beautiful. We can do another category if you'd like. Sure. Here, okay. How about ⁓ weather weather. So I like my prayer like I like my weather. So I like my prayer like I like my ⁓ rainstorm. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: low trickle at first, but then I'm drenched to the core. speaker-1: ⁓ that's beautiful. speaker-2: ⁓ I like my prayer, like I like my hurricane all around me and making me feel like I can't see the way out. speaker-1: Mm. Mm. Mm. Okay. I like my prayer like I like my tsunami. Walloping and drags the sinners right down. Wow. speaker-0: Wow, and you know, I do think s they've done some scientific studies about ⁓ h who a tsunami targets and it usually is centers, you know, statistically. speaker-1: Well they say you gotta be standing on a mountaintop, get to high ground to avoid the scenario. Moses, Jesus, and you know who else is always elevated. ⁓ Mm-hmm. The anointed speaker-0: And you know who was on a mountaintop? Moses. Wow. It's true. They're always reaching new heights. All right, we'll do one more of these, maybe. Okay. Okay, how about ⁓ how about well you could do a little knotty one, you know. I wanna get a little new school with you. All right, new school. You know, I can hang, I can play. Right. I like my prayer like I like my undergarment. So I like my prayer like I like my ⁓ bras. Extra support, ⁓ and lifting me up. speaker-1: Two news. speaker-2: I mean too. speaker-1: And you can try Uh-huh. Uh-huh. ⁓ speaker-2: That's good. That's funny too. speaker-1: Clip that that'll that'll go viral. speaker-0: Okay, I will. speaker-2: Yeah. That's viral. ⁓ do you want to go? speaker-1: ⁓ I like my prayer. Mm-hmm. Like I like my boxer briefs. Mm-hmm. Calvin Klein and Skin Tight. Wow. speaker-0: You know, tight. Can't let can't let ⁓ let any of the sin in, can't let any of the Lord out, that's for sure. What about you, Kendall? Take it away. speaker-1: Okay. speaker-2: I I like my prayer like like I like my lace d soft and with me. speaker-0: Okay, that's all right. ⁓ that's all right. That's really speaker-1: No see Kendall's confused because he had a twin baby girl in the womb that he absorbed. So he sometimes struggles with with these issues. But you know the fact that he stands here before us today, a successful EDM Christian recording artist, world-renowned spin instructor. Kendall, what is it boy? Don't tell me nothing. speaker-2: Yeah. You said ⁓ when I I just wear my li for ja the ja the aerobics classes. That's what I meant. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, you know, I hear lace is pretty rum of the bill for aerobics class too, you know. speaker-1: Kendall, I'm not happy. I still love you, Kendall. speaker-2: Okay. speaker-0: Okay, ⁓ you know what? I am curious. When do you feel your personal faith is tested the most, you know? Like I think it's really important that we as men of the cloth, you know, understand and say to our followers, we always have issues ourselves too, you know. We're not just living in a world where God and prayer and ⁓ discipline comes easy to us. And so I am curious, you know. When do you feel your personal faith was tested most and how did you overcome that? speaker-2: I f I feel like my personal faith has been tested ⁓ just in ⁓ people underestimating me and how much I can take. because I can take a lot like I can take a lot, like I'm I'm I'm strong and resilient. and and I'm ready for more. speaker-0: Mm. Right. Like you ⁓ just one isn't enough for you. You need three, four, you know, sort of ⁓ conflicts at a time. Coming at you straight. speaker-2: Like at the same time, like one isn't gonna knock me out in the way that I wanted it to. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: Okay, that's really powerful, you know, that people should see your resilience. And I hope they will after this podcast, Kendall. Thank you. speaker-1: Well, as you know, our congregation's in West Hollywood and there's constant homosexual activity around us. Bombardment. ⁓ there's this one ice cream store. It's called Very Gay Ice Cream. Mm-hmm. And they have these little ice cream sandwiches. It's the traditional chocolate chocolate cookie cake on the top and the bottom. Mhm. In the middle, the ice cream. speaker-0: ⁓ bombardment. speaker-1: It's these delightful rainbow stripes. Every time I go back by there I think, what if I got one of those delightful gay ice creams? And then I said, Brett, no. No. speaker-0: That's really powerful. Yeah. I feel like the idea that, you know, you are gathering people of all stars and stripes in a certain text bracket to experience letting go of their sin and their struggles with you. And that your plight is mostly about whether or not you should eat an ice cream sandwich, you know. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Well, it's about more than just the ice cream sandwich and you know that too. Mm-hmm. It's about engaging with the cultural ⁓ legitimacy, use one of them big words you like, of homosexuality. So they can come to my house and I will open them I again, homosexuals, this is biggest misconception. Mm-hmm. Home ho practicing homosexuals, they can step into the house of the Lord. However speaker-0: Mm. Tell me more about what the temptation is there for you. speaker-1: They're not gonna burn up. And I love them, but if you loved someone, would you let them continue to go down a path that will lead them to hell? No speaker-0: That's true. And I think in all s all ways, big and small, we have to reject that, you know, big in the way that you're helping with this your deprogramming therapy. And also, you know, small with denying ⁓ want for a Rimbo ⁓ ice cream sandwich. And that really is ⁓ I think it's important that people understand, you know, takes a s takes small steps to make a big one, you know? And ⁓ in your experience of your own congregation like ⁓ takes ⁓ only a few speaker-1: Exactly. And you know what? I'll go in there and like I'll I'll invite them to church. And a lot of we've gotten a lot of the guys from the big gay ice creams, from ⁓ it's called cock and balls. ⁓ I feel bad even saying that. No, that's okay, you can't but it's the name it's some sort of a bar in West Hollywood, you know, it's the sex dungeons. A lot of basically at this point my men's groups are almost exclusively converts from the speaker-0: You're also really Kendall that you specifically are very boots on the ground and collecting these people. You're doing a lot of the work of going into those spaces. ⁓ speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-2: Yeah. I mean you know, I I just talk to them like they're people. ⁓ 'cause they are and ⁓ you know, they might compliment my outfit or you know, comment on my body or something and then that's you know, what are you doing on Sunday? speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Yeah. And then you're bringing him in and you're saying, Well, I do I have a lace outfit for you 'cause we're gonna get ready and it's aerobics. speaker-2: Okay. speaker-1: Well yeah. I mean the the best the best question you should ask someone, you look them in their eyes, just like you said, can and you say, What are you doing on Sunday? speaker-2: And right. speaker-0: I think that's exactly right. Keep it straight to the point. Yeah. And you don't even yeah, I've actually found this too when you're bringing in new congregants, you know, you don't want to scare people away because exactly as you say with conversion therapy, you know, they have all sorts of ideas w ⁓ of what those words mean. And so if you say, Wanna come to mass, wanna come to a sermon, you know, that might throw ⁓ right off. You What are you doing on Sunday? Yeah. speaker-1: Not Sunday. What are you doing on Sunday? I know of a nice club of wealthy, successful people. Yeah. And they've got a secret that they want to share. You look like you've got a secret you want to share, boy. speaker-2: No and no secret. No secret. No secrets. No. No secrets. Yeah. speaker-0: Okay. Yeah. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah. Kendall, you've been acting weird this whole interview. I just feel speaker-0: feel that yeah, I you know, I I listen, you know, the dynamic, you you know your son best. There's been it there's been some moments. I mean, is there something you wanna tell us, you know, something that might make you feel better? Have you received a powerful message from God, maybe, that you're scared to share? speaker-1: Hmm. speaker-2: ⁓ yeah, maybe that is what it is. I mean I feel like my hands are like sopping wet ⁓ from I what must be ⁓ messages from God. You know, and I think that they're like overpowering for me and fill me up and so I I think I'm just sorting through all of the ⁓ messages I'm getting. speaker-1: Dry ⁓ on your beans, boy. Keep putting speaker-0: Absolutely, sort of like a human answering machine. speaker-2: I f like a human answering machine, like a like a yeah, like tet speaker-0: Yeah. Okay. I can accept that. I mean, I feel like it wouldn't surprise me that you've been contacted by the Lord because I believe you actually the first ⁓ major event of your of your ⁓ big ⁓ creation of the joyous ⁓ congregational church i was when you received a message from the Lord. Mm-hmm. Yeah. That was very powerful. You know, you you were that ⁓ situation was covered on the local news even and became a worldwide story. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean, listen, I'm not like you. I never had struggles with homosexuality. I definitely had struggles with male femininity. ⁓ I had gone to, you know, I had this this upbringing and the every teenager dad's evil. Dad's evil. Glad Kendall never thought that. so I went to a little college in Ohio called Oberlin College. Mm hmm. Lots of homosexuals there. I was more into kind of the ultimate frisbee sort of you know And I'm wearing the the Eastern spiritual garb you know, the robes, the earrings, the beads, the jewelries, the crystals, the ropes, the chain. ⁓ speaker-0: Yeah, you bar leather You're walking b you can barely s take a step without jingling or jangling. speaker-1: I got so many belts wrapped around my arms. Okay. You know? Might as well have an apple in my mouth. And they had this ⁓ sort of savage medicine called what's i ayahuasca. Ire ayahuasca. Ayurveck. And I open my eyes, I see God. All of a sudden I'm screaming. I'm ripping off the belt. I'm I'm pulling off the rope. I'm ripping the rope. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-0: And I hear this took forty to fifty minutes, sort accessories speaker-1: Minutes Whole thing is live streamed on a little website at the time called Twitch. Wow. Ever heard of it? And all the gospel, it's coming into me. I was like, it's gospel. I'm I'm shouting it out. I'm drawing a crowd. Because once again, all around me, these are sinners who have been seduced by savage imagery imagery. speaker-0: Pagan imagery especially a pag through and through. speaker-2: It's really scary. speaker-1: Anyways, so to make a long story short, I don't know I spoon the gospel. That video's on Twitch. Small website then, but is sort of events like that that made it big. Absolutely. People are saying I the the spirit is coursing so far through this man's veins, it's exploding out of the top of his head. ⁓ How do I get in on this? And that was when Bang Energy came in. Wow. And they said we've really been looking for a partner. For a partner, a spiritual partner. Yeah. And that was how I became the in-house spiritual guide for Bang Energy. Wow. From there, yeah, because they were running a lot of influence. That's when I was able to find the ones who were Christian. That's how we start. speaker-0: Part. Absolutely. speaker-1: our content creation group which provided the seed funding for the temple. Oops, I'm sorry. Mm-hmm. For the rectory. ⁓ speaker-0: This business plan sounds incredible because, you know, it sounds like, you know, you met with one company that was working with a lot of young people, work, you know, long hours together and they found a way to sort of ⁓ what's the word? I know it starts with a T. ⁓ to transit transition them, you know, over Yeah, you know, to as these sort of ⁓ workers in this house. And I think that that's really powerful. You know, Brett, that I've had my hesitations about brand parts. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-1: ⁓ Yeah, yeah. speaker-0: partnerships with the Lord, knowing that, you know, I didn't want to fall into golden calf territory. Right. You know what I'm talking about? However, it's clear to me that this is the way to reach more people and you know ultimately offer them more. You know. Offer them a ten percent off code at checkout. You know offer them, you know, the opportunity to get sort of like a little car like a little branded carabiner or like a water bottle with like a logo on it. And that's a beautiful thing. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-2: I mean it's why I was born. Yeah. Because there was a need for more you know, work ⁓ workers and there was I mean, that's what I was always speaker-1: And 'cause she was doing like sort of these like beige baby clothes and like she was doing these sort of wooden rattles. speaker-0: Yeah, everything's sort of like ⁓ sort of a return to old school, if you will. You know very inspired. And actually, you I think I saw some of those ads ⁓ you know, ⁓ in my yester year. Sometimes actually they would put you mentioned cock and ball earlier, they put one of those ads up and it was when you ⁓ were it was just it's you on a rocking horse. Yeah and it says riding hard, riding fast, you know, which we kind of there was double entente, which was funny. I don't think it's funny now. No. I don't think it's funny. speaker-2: Love it. speaker-1: Well and everyone also said that his butt was too red in the ads. And I said he's a baby. speaker-0: Yeah, he was being spiked. Yeah. Which you know, I think that's normal for a child that it had they should be tossed around a little bit first. Exactly. Wow. Yeah, you know, this has been a very powerful experience for me. I am kinda curious as we ⁓ head out. I thought maybe we could play another game. Ooh. So this is a game I like to play called Five Things. So I'll give you a category and you give the first five things in that category that come to mind. I'll help you keep track of ⁓ So ⁓ we could do like one each, maybe and you can help each other out too. So, ⁓ maybe speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: We'll we'll start with you, Kendall. Look, five things you think about during prayer. Five things you think about during prayer. speaker-2: ⁓ what my body? speaker-0: Course, the conduit of Christ one. Yes. speaker-2: my hair. speaker-0: Yeah, of course I mean, yeah. Okay. Two. speaker-1: Part of your body, boy. Mm-hmm. speaker-2: delicious foods. speaker-0: Three. ⁓ your mouth's water and just thinking about it. speaker-2: ⁓ my ⁓ friends speaker-1: He loves to eat. Mm-hmm. speaker-0: Four, very important to think of your friends keeping in mind when you're praying. It's not just for you, it's for everybody around you. speaker-2: Uh-huh. And my ⁓ connections. speaker-0: Yeah, you know, connections are important, especially in the new school. I'm surprised you didn't throw Mary in there, if I'm honest, you know? You're not praying for Mary. speaker-1: Mary Suzanne? speaker-2: Yeah, Mary Suzanne is like ⁓ what's yeah. She's a friend, so speaker-0: Yeah. Okay, just a friend. Just a tall, tall friend. Right, all right. Okay. I have a question for you there, Brett. ⁓ speaker-1: Just a tall, tall frat. speaker-2: Horror. speaker-1: Ooh, I'm listening. Mmm Take it back. Mmm. Apologize. Mm-hmm. Speak too quiet. Mm. Waffle. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. Yeah, you gotta be firm on that. speaker-1: And get too close to the mic 'cause it makes a real spitty breathy noise and you you might feel like you're cooking I'm but all they're hearing is is slapping wet. Sounds like you're, you know, whipping up some eggs or kneading a sourdough. So don't get speaker-0: You kinda shuddered there when you heard slappin' wet. I didn't speaker-2: I just I understand what he's talking about. Yeah. speaker-0: Okay. All right. ⁓ maybe I'll do one here. ⁓ five lesser known parables of Jesus. At least maybe we get a little silly. ⁓ the tooth and the hammer. That's a really important one to our congregation, tooth and hammer. Uhhuh. ⁓ of course we also have disc speaker-1: Excellent. speaker-0: ⁓ disc, which is, you know, the story in which ⁓ Jesus, you know, stops with some local friends to ⁓ put together a a team of people who throw a disc from side to side, which, you know, people say is the modern creation of ultimate frisbee. Yeah, it's in the Bible, but you know, of course it was all Lord Fear and Men who were playing it, which made it easier. ⁓ of course we have another parable which is red flowers, you know, which that one's a really sad one. That one's really sad. And that was the one where you know, Mary looks in the mirror and realizes like, ⁓ how how am I going to tell Joseph? How am I gonna tell Joseph that I'm made pregnant by the by by God? Yeah. Right. You know, and her and Joseph Joseph were really trying for a baby. ⁓ chips, you know, which is actually a really fun one. And the kids love that when I'm talking about the parable of chips. It's yeah the knowledge that even when we're snacking, you know, we can be paying attention to the Lord. speaker-2: Yeah. speaker-1: You like that one? speaker-0: And of course, you know, one of the most ⁓ powerful lesser known ⁓ parables of Jesus for me is ⁓ horse and rod. ⁓ Which, you know, that's an all timer, right, Brett? speaker-1: That isn't all I mean, I start with horse and rod. Yeah. speaker-0: ⁓ wow. You know, we have more common than I thought we did. Yeah, horse and rod is great because it's about sort of like a really a stallion, yeah, really sort of luxurious silken haired stallion ⁓ who's sort of a f ⁓ charging through villages looking for the best place, you know, to lay his holy seed. And it is only when ⁓ he meets a a fellow traveler, you know, this horse meets a traveller and they realize they are perfect match. Yeah, human traveler. ⁓ you know, and i the the human traveler rod, you know, Corinthians twelve, eleven, ⁓ that he's able to, you know, release the seed of this horse. And that's supposed to show us that there are ways to spew our sermon all around. ⁓ speaker-2: Where does he release it? speaker-0: ⁓ sort of just like on the local ⁓ there's ⁓ there's actually ⁓ a congregation which later became who we know as the twelve disciples. Twelve these twelve men are just sort of sprayed head to tail with the seed. Okay. Yeah, this is a story you might I think specifically be interested in, Kendall. ⁓ you know, I'm curious as we reach the end here, it's been so fun to connect and swap stories about God. Yeah, it's been really great to, you know, connect speaker-2: I love swap. speaker-1: I mean this industry can be so cutthroat. Absolutely. It's like hard for, you know, pastors, priests, everybody get together, just meet each other as men. We're all but feels sometimes it feels like it's all turf wars, brand deals, and influencer beef. speaker-0: Yeah, I I I know that, you know. The the truth is is we're all, you know, working under the same boss. We'll we're all serving the same Lord. No, that's for sure. He can forgive, but he doesn't forgive. speaker-1: And he is not forgiving. He's capable of forgiving but incapable of forgiving. speaker-2: He's hard on us. speaker-0: And I was actually curious, ⁓ if there's any social media handles we should be avoiding. You know, I know there are ⁓ you, your social presence for your church is very strong, but I'm sure you still have sinful messages that get through from time to time. Are there any particular, you know, followers ⁓ or any particular individual accounts that we absolutely should not be visiting? speaker-1: There's this ⁓ non-binary person. ⁓ I think they they go they're rue on the web. Wow. Sending me terrible messages, disgusting images. Yeah. He's got a a little gay boyfriend. Mm. EJ he's having f I don't know, what is it? EJ he's having He is not having fun. Or he shouldn't be having fun. speaker-0: Mm. Yeah. Okay. We'll make sure we'll put that on our block list. speaker-2: EJ having fun. ⁓ speaker-0: We won't be go you won't be having fun when he's in hell, that's speaker-1: No, he won't be on the phone when he's speaker-2: Take a look at the amount of shirtless photos he posts. speaker-1: It's disgusting. speaker-0: Yeah, it's horrible. And I know audiences, you know, it's kind of ⁓ upsetting because, you know, you look through and those f those photos of shirtless they draw you in and they have several thousand likes and comments people encouraging the behavior. Same on on Rue's page if I'm honest. You know, those are two people whose videos speaker-2: Are you in? speaker-1: Because EJ over there's the one hand, he's small. He looks like the kind boom catch me back down. But then Rue, she he is you're scared. speaker-0: And the the pair of them just some much. speaker-1: Yeah. And you're like throwing ⁓ up. Spin him I'm like ⁓ I don't speaker-2: I don't wanna picture that. I don't wanna picture that! speaker-0: Okay. You know what? We'll tell we'll we're gonna we're gonna come to the end here. Thank you so much for coming on. ⁓ God bless you both. Nothing but love and lie to the that's a ⁓ that's a very tender hand you're there touching on me. and I I hope for nothing but joy for your church. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. And I just do I just want to make sure that when you put this on Instagram that you invite me as a collaborator and not just a tag. Okay. Because I get way more engagement on the collab. It'll be good for you too, because I got so many more followers. speaker-0: Absolutely. I mean we've but we only have ⁓ listen, ⁓ we only have twelve dis twelve twelve ⁓ followers now. I call my twelve disciples. So we'll get up there. We'll get up there. Thank you so much. speaker-1: Those numbers up to you. speaker-2: Thank you.
