And that's because we are at the ECS orientation night. by the time you guys are seeing this, it's probably pretty well past probably the school year. It's probably probably the school year has started. It's possible. Might be a little bit before that, but we're both students who have gone here. And we both have siblings who still go here, so we thought, hey, why don't we come check this out and take you guys with us on our tour? So Sammy got anything to say before we get started? Rock on. Rock on, all right. Well, we'll head over. there should be some kind of announcement thing happening sometime soon. We do have a got a little mic set up here for those people we're gonna interview. Hopefully the audio is good today. We're only gonna know after, so if this is absolutely a fail, then we will just post like an update and just maybe not really I don't know. We'll just ta we'll just post pictures off this video of things we're doing here. So you know, I gotta I got a good idea. Let's go interview Let's go interview the media guy first. Let's check out what's going on here. And he's got his camera out. Totally speaker-1: Is he rolling it live? speaker-0: going live. Alright, what are we doing here? speaker-1: we are at the it's not information night, but it's like that's crazy. speaker-0: Are you a student here? Yeah. Yeah, it's all right. It's ECS orientation. speaker-1: Orientation. Yeah, there you go. We just had our choir day here, so that's pretty great, yeah. Great. speaker-0: That's cool. How'd how did that go? speaker-1: it was long, but it was fun. Yeah. It was great. Getting a good introduction to the year. So it's great. speaker-0: Good. You you feel ready for this for this queer? speaker-1: yeah, bring it on, let's go. And soccer cross country. Shout out. yeah. speaker-0: Yeah, sports starting out. That's good. We'll probably we'll probably hit the sports table. Alright, speaker-1: Yeah. That's great. speaker-0: well thanks aner. Yeah. Boss. speaker-1: Yes sir. What's your name? my name is Boaz. Also I love the mic. speaker-0: Dude, that's crazy. You love Mike? Fantastic. Yeah, it's pretty cool. we have had him on for a show before. That's true. I actually accidentally made it on the show. Maybe we should have you on legit. speaker-1: Yeah, dude, honestly. speaker-0: Yeah. In fact I've grown. In fact, in fact, peep peep next Saturday, maybe maybe we have Boaz on when School Year starts. speaker-1: Well. speaker-0: yeah. That might be crazy. We can do though. so Boaz, how's orientation been so far for you? speaker-1: It's been great. It's been a long day. but that's how it is with most choir events. Yeah. but it's been good. It's been energizing. I'm actually really excited for the new school here too. Just a great start, get the community together and stuff. It's great. speaker-0: That's awesome. Yeah. All right, well I'm I'm sure we'll see you around. speaker-1: Yeah, alright. Yeah. Good to see you. speaker-0: I don't know why keep using this microphone, because I have one right on me. So we're gonna keep moving around here. We'll double record on your voice. Yeah, we'll find somebody else. Ooh. Here's a person we were gonna have on the podcast. You guys saw her in the last episode. She and Jane fought for best item at the rummage sale. Keila, how you got here late for choir today. Why was that? speaker-1: Well Lucy and I did drive a Z Axe. speaker-0: Driver's Ed. Wow, cool. So are you gonna be driving yourself to school this year? That's speaker-1: yeah, that's the plan. speaker-0: the plan, that's pretty cool. What's what car? speaker-1: with Hallie Subaru. speaker-0: I see. What's how he's driving? speaker-1: Nothing. She's she's gonna be sick twenty four seven, so speaker-0: That's unfortunate. Well all right, that's my sister for ya. Yep. Don't drive bad. I've seen it before. Yeah, speaker-1: Four. speaker-0: driver's ed is gonna be interesting. All right, well let's see if we can find somebody else. Calvin Higgins: Alright, we're gonna go we're gonna go interview Ian. He's our Ian Lugg is our media guy. And he he might have some interesting things for us to say. Ooh, and we're coming over to the ice cream sandwiches. So that'll interesting. yeah, this this is gonna be great content. So what are we what are we doing here, Ian? Who what are what are who doing? I'm filming. What are you filming? we're here for orientation. Let's go. That's fantastic. And you're the school's media guy, right? Something like that. Something like that. Or I pose this one. Pose one. Because you're actually a full-time teacher. That's right. Yeah, what classes are you teaching this year? PE omnibus three algebra algebra two. Something like that. It's a pretty solid list. Well I guess we'll leave you to it. enjoy that. Yeah, let's go. This is gonna be the best year ever. That's fantastic. That's great energy. That's good. Good way to start the year actually. Yeah, let's keep Mosey and on our way over here. We'll try not to run over any small children because that would be unfortunate. Come over here, see if we got ooh, we've got we got a board member here. Board member is busy chatting it up right now. Leave it me for a minute. So let's see. Ooh. Hi mom. How are you doing? I'm amazing. Are you our curriculum director? I am, I think. I just want everybody to see that this says Love is cooking together. I said Sean and I don't love each other. That's my mom for you? it's pretty cool. I don't know why I keep using this mic. It it is on a spatula. Shout out Weird Owl. This is this is a great video. This is great. I'm leaving all that in. No shot, that's coming out. Also, some of it will probably be hard to hear because she was not mic's for half of it. That's true. She might have yelled into my mic, so we'll see how that goes. We've got a school admin here. She's she's busy being an admin. So Sam, what do you remember most about Orientation Night? mostly picking up books. Actually, that was probably the biggest. Books and ice cream? Because like half the time my mom would ask me on the way back home, like, did you visit any of your classes? Like were you gonna be in in class? And I was like, No. You're like, absolutely not, mom. Maybe like one year did I actually do that. Yeah, I think last year was the year I visited the most because my wife was teaching last year. But that's not that's not happened this year, so I've been here though for some of the setups, so I've seen some things, so I'll walk you guys through some stuff, show you some things. but yeah, I mean overall it should be it should be a fun rest of the episode, and we'll see you at the next interview. Alright, so actually in the min in the interim, I'm gonna head out to my Hey wait, don't leave. I'm gonna we're gonna head out to see my wife here. She brought me a shirt, so you probably can't see it. Maybe you can right there, that little spot. That is my child's poop on my shirt. And so she's here to deliver me another in the most beautiful truck ever. Thank thanks, father in law. Well and thanks wife. Ooh. I couldn't remember what color your shorts were, but good thing they're neither of these colors. Yeah, I think we're gonna rock with this one. Yeah. yeah. How's how's your obviously you've only been here for about two seconds. How's orientation? it looks fun. It looks like I wanna be over there. You know what we were realizing that we couldn't remember. Do we set up tables for orientation night? I'm not sure. Does anyone remember? We set tables up for information night. What do you mean tables like for people to come see stuff? We do see the curriculum. Yep, curriculum's. But then it's like they're already sold on that, so why are we doing that? I don't know. That's right. But we did it in a it's another sell. It's for the people who are already bought in but then who are like, I don't know if this is a good idea. Yeah. It's to make sure that's a good idea. All right, well Thanks man. Yeah. And we'll see you guys with a new shirt on. And we're back with a new shirt. And right around this corner here, this is where this is where the fellas and the ladies, but there's only fellas back here do PE. Here's a guy who likes PE. Joshua, what's your name? I don't know. You know that's perfect. Very confusing. what grade are you going into this year? twelve. Twelve grade, so you're gonna be senior. What what are some of your goals this year? I wanna win state individually and as a team for cross country and then at least make it past districts in soccer. Nice, I like that's fitting very much so for being in there. Whoa, we got call outs over here. I like this though. We've got sports stuff in the back and you're talking about sports stuff, so that works. any other goals on a more academic level? academic, I mean straight A's, but more realistically, like keep everything above an eighty five. Yeah, that's that's definitely more realistic with sports, I like that. That's good. I bet you keep it above ninety though. Except for maybe well you are you math are you a math person? I am a math person sometimes when you're not. When I don't want to be. When it's hard. So you just gotta keep your attitude in check. I mean, no, what classes are you not great at? Like what what what one class are you gonna really have to work hard for? Pre calc? Yeah. yeah. Well that is math though, right? It is math. Alright, well he's a math person, but he's not sure about pre calc, so we'll give you an update. But you also would have seen Josh one a couple episodes ago. actually as the time of recording you haven't seen it at all, but when it comes out you will have. So that's great. Thanks, Joshua. Thank you. You're welcome. No, this is great. So we got the boys out here cranking up some pull ups. This is pretty much just an average day for them at school. Putting in the work. I go call our bone. Go call our bone. It feels better. Anyways, hi. I'm not gonna give anybody the amount of pull ups that I can do. I'm not gonna tell you. What I can tell you is that number is really low. Terrifying. Terrifyingly low. Well hey, thanks for being a good wingman, but yeah, it's not very high, so Thank you though. Absolutely. That's great. All right. We'll see you guys at the next interview. You have a job? Well, what's your job, Hallie? Taking you out the trash. I'm Santa. boy. What grade are you going into this year? Twelfth. Twelve. Do you have any goals, aspirations this year? Pray more, actually. Okay. That's o that's fantastic. Joshua's was more sports related. Do you have anything academic? get a higher GPA than him. snap. boy. I love that we just cut randomly to this. Actually maybe we'll just put this right after Joshua's interview. Well thanks, Hallie. Uh-huh. You're welcome. We might see you later. Mm-hmm. Okay. Alright guys, we're back and we're gonna check it out over here, but I think we've got one of our other full-time teachers. And you have time for a quick interview? Sure. So tell us who you are and what are you teaching this year? I am Dr. Weiberg. I'm teaching pre-calc, physics, and omni 4, which is ancient and Latin 1. That's fantastic. And have you ever taught Latin before? No. I've never taken Latin before. so that that'll be fun. So what kind of work are you doing in preparation for that? I am reading a lot of Latin. And what level of confidence would you say you're at? you could say that my confidence outpaces my confidence. We're going for it. Well, you know, you gotta start somewhere. We were just out back talking to one of your future pre-calc students, and they were saying that's the class they are the most worried about. Not because of you, but just for themselves. So should be interesting. I I'm not sure which student it was, but we are gonna start with a lot of algebra two review. I think they'll probably appreciate that. Yeah, it's gonna be needed. Yeah, and you're also now the president of Comfort College. Yeah. You have anything to say about that? We are trying to build something here and it's a lot of work, but it's gonna be good. Yeah, and they can find you on Instagram, right? Yes. Like me or the college. Well, I mean, you talk about both on both. Yes. CG Weinberg on Instagram or Comfort College on Instagram for the college. That's great. We'll put both of those either on screen or in the description for you guys to check out. Thank you. Yeah. All right, yeah, we he's been a teacher for ours of ours for quite some time. Guys, the lighting out here is gorgeous, but it's horrible for the camera. Sorry about that. We really giving you guys some bad shadows and my beard is glistening. But we'll see you in bit. Alright, and we're gonna head on over here to see if we can get one Layla Bowers. We've had her on the podcast too. Tell us what's going on. Excuse us ladies, Layla, would you be up for an interview real quick for Choice Man? For the Choice Man podcast. yeah. Like right at this exact moment when I'm supposed to be going in to help with the people. Yeah, you well, even on the way in. Here's your mic. You can just hold that. It's beautiful. Thank you. It's on a spatula. So tell us what you do here. I teach rhetoric and omnibus and I'm the registrar and I also teach skills class and I coordinate all the trips. Wow. So you just coordinated the last East Coast trip. That is true. How would you rate that? And will we be doing that again? Ten out of ten, hopefully we'll be doing it for seventh and eighth graders in the future. That's awesome. And then they get to go on the Regan romp when they're eleventh and twelfth graders through the UK. France, Scotland, etc. How many of those have we done? Do you know? Because East Coast just one time. Just one time. We've done the UK twice, and then hopefully the third one will be in 2028. Wow. That'll be pretty cool. Well, thank you very much for your time. I know you got a place to be. So thanks for letting us know what you Thanks, Al. Yeah. Very quick. Yeah. So we both went on the Europe trip when we were in what grid? Keila just got her birthday present. dang. I don't know if this is staying in the video or not, it might. Yeah. So we both went on the UK trip. Do you remember tenth grade? twelfth grade. that was four years ago. Something like that? Yeah, we're not the same size anymore. I will say our best experience is when we were in Scotland. We stayed with Jonathan Saarr, our headmaster. he slept out, which was great. He wanted to. He slept out on like the pull-out bed, and then we both got a huge bedroom. and we watched Forged in Fire in Scotland, and that was like the most American thing ever. Eat the Will Keel. that actually is a fun show. You should check that out. I think they have a YouTube. Maybe I could link that. Check him out. we're gonna head inside and we'll see you there. Tell me all about what you were just telling me, Helly. I was saying that Calvin is dumb because he's not fixing the staplers and the fact that his watch, most people get a watch, so then right when they tap it, they can see it immediately. He is a analog. He has an analog setting on his watch right now, so he has to think about it every time. He was just telling me that he goes into his athletic thing just so that he could see a digital version. Yeah, sometimes. But let me guess. Let me take a wild guess here. Is it so then you feel like you look cooler? No. It's because I like the what the rest of the face has to offer. Maybe I'll post a screenshot. I could take screenshots on my Apple Watch. Maybe I'll link that in this podcast, but you never know. Alright, thanks. All right everybody, we are gonna head out. What's up? obviously what you guys just saw we said we were going inside. You guys saw a little bit. we had to cut, not because we couldn't film, but it would have been kind of a weird thing to film because we couldn't really talk. and also if we had been able to record, I would have like if I had thought a little farther ahead, I might have put a mic up by the other mic. And we could have clipped some stuff, but not really worth it. So It was more just like some announcements and some introductions of teachers. I mean, not really any new teachers, but just for parents to kind of know, hey, here people so at orientation, what happens is all the families are invited to come. It's not required, but it's encouraged I would say. And sort of what you you know, you come, we have a little ice cream social, which we missed, and then well Actually, we didn't miss it. That's what all those other interviews were of. But you come and then we come inside for a little bit and we talk in the sanctuary, or Jonathan talks, introduces the teachers, talks about a couple things and then kind of how the night's gonna go. This year is different, and this year is actually being run by Jolie Hall, who's the kindergarten teacher, and she put together a kind of a different program for everybody. so everybody has from right now about an hour to Go walk around, see some other classrooms, talk to the teachers of their kids, get an idea for you know what kind of homework and yeah, just everything to expect, really. Yeah. And so that's great. And then we're gonna convene back in the sanctuary to sing Blessed Man the Fear of Jehovah, and then everybody will be on their merry way. Normally we don't really have a clean cutoff time, and so we're here for a long time. And Julie wanted to end that. right now we're headed out to see. the brand new signage for the church and school. And so we'll see you guys there. Alright guys, we're down here. We just saw them. You guys are about to see them for the first time. Pretty nice. Now, I wish I had pictures. Maybe I can find some, probably not, of what our signage used to be. It was absolute trash. We just basically got these in. They actually need to be cleaned. I can see the fingerprints on them. And there's supposed to be backlighting that's going in there, but we're not there yet. But count of three, three, two, one. Chabam! And we'll get you guys closer too, but we got the got the church, got the school, and should be really cool during the nighttime, again when they're backlit, but you can see solid metal with just like CNC'd cut out. Yeah, here let's get the As you can see that's solid metal. The frames maybe need a little Little touch up, but they haven't fallen down yet. Look at that, it's beautiful, it's awesome. All right, we'll see you guys back down at the r other building. Alright, guys, on our way back down here, we've got we've got a parent. I know I've known him for a while. He told me I gotta go get it. My vision prophetic, he said it, I did it. This is this is who's this? What what up? Who's this? Judah Rye, he's my guy. Praise God, little king, drinking water by the spring. Come on, Rayburn, do your thing. What up? Yeah, this is this is this is Ryan Rayburn. Welcome to the Choice Men Podcast. Which is more vlog style right now than really a podcast. Choice. What's our topic for today? Our topic is just a little bit of well I guess it's not orientation. I can't believe I just forgot what it is. Yeah, it sounds right, orientation. Yeah. Yeah, it's not orientation night though, is it? Yeah. It is. Information night's the other one. Hey, see I was right, that's right. But yeah. He was right. I've known this guy for a while. Yeah. Run a little b ball with him. man, I'll take one time not only ran a little b ball, this guy was feeling so spicy. He pulled up from half court, not one. Not two, three jumpers. Yeah, but I don't think I made all three. That's part of the problem. Made one though. Yeah. I mean I remember I was feeling it. He was feeling how I mean but the launches were so confident. Yeah, okay. And even the the misses were like near misses, you know. Yeah, but then I got told to stop shooting, so that was kind of fine. I'm Draymond Green, I have trouble shooting. He does, but he's an energizer bunny. Ooh. Get them steals. That's right. This man ran thirteen miles before one of the mornings. That was crazy. That's right. I did, I did. Yeah, I didn't like that because it was 5 30 in the morning. That's absurd. Too early. Too early. Yeah. Yeah, because like three. Now I'm on that Chuck Weinberg, you know, that bulk phase. I'm trying to get those weights, more plates, more weights, more. Yeah, Daryl needs to put some weights in the gym. For us. Yeah. That's right. We get there early for that. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well thanks, ma'am. See you later. Happy orientation information. That's right. It's all it's all good info. It's all good info. That's right. Let's go. All right. See you back down at the building. Who is this? Alright, guys, we're heading back down to the other building. And we were just talking about this, but I can't believe it. We should be filming the whole time, but my arm hurts, so we're not. but I'm actually working right now on school software for tracking grades and some other things, but most more specifically a grade tracker. So at Evangel Classical School, we use a thing called sycamore. And sycamore is sucky, it stinks, but it's better than what we used before, and Because Layla was demoing it right now. And or she already finished. Layla, did you demo? Is it good? Did it work? It was great. Perfect. Nobody really needed it. and so I'm working on a replacement for Sycamore, and we were just talking about this. That I could be demoing Sycamore, but a different Sycamore next year. That would be sending your bright. That would be pretty cool. So who knows? Maybe Sam will be filming me next year while I'm demoing the very newest. Of school software. New tech. I mean, literally, it would be cutting edge at that point. Let's see if we can catch him. Do you have time for a quick interview? Man, I always have a time to talk to you, Calvin Higgins. That's fantastic. Yeah. So you're on Choice Man right now. And I'm on what? You're on Choice Men. This is our podcast we moved. I thought you said point seven. I'm like, you're gonna slow down my voice. Okay, good. Yeah. No, yeah. Choice Man, and we were going around interviewing people here at Orientation. So what do you do? And How's how's orientation going so far? Well, orientation's going great, I think. I'm I'm the headmaster of the school. and all we've done so far is eat ice cream and then have a few announcements and I think we've prayed in between those two things. So it's kinda hard to go wrong with any of that. Yeah, I mean I can't think of anything I'd rather do than eat ice cream and listen to announcements, so And I heard that the Sycamore demo went well, so that's good. man, Layla survived? Yeah. There was no casualties. Apparently. She said not very many people needed it, so that's good. Okay, that is good. That's a time blessing. Considering Sycamore is not the easiest for some people. So Yeah. That's great. T tough tough onboarding with Sycamore. Do you have any goals for this squeer? We asked her son and he had some athletic ones, and then I asked Hallie and she said to have a higher GPA than Joshua. Okay. Shouldn't be that hard, actually. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, what are your goals this year? For the school year at least. Well, I mean it is fun having a senior. So I'm I'm excited that that Joshua is going to be a senior. Julie I'll be a first grader, so I'll have two kids in the school. really, in terms of my goals, it is to not be a bottleneck and and be the the weak leak in the chain or or the the hindrance to cultural or curricular growth. I'm personally trying really hard to be clearer not only about where we're going but how we're gonna get there, offering more help to my people, whether the students or the teachers, getting them what they need, whether it is resources or just direction or if they needed accountability, so that we are all Drawing one way. We're all pulling the same direction together. No, we're doing them way. That's fantastic. Well, thank you for your time. We'll let you get back to talking to other people. I was gonna go play with Fax Tuition Management. I mean that's even better. I'm on the way. Thanks. Thank you. So she has to ask the questions and she's and he has been the headmaster here since the school's e been in existence. So I was trying to think about this. I have obviously been to Mr. Sarr's office I think two or three times. Have you Ever been? just actually I think the only time was our senior lunch. that doesn't count. What? No. See, this kid's too good, man. He didn't live on the edge of us. Okay, here's the thing though, is apparently the first teacher meeting ever was about me. So apparently I was doing something. I don't know. Doing something great, Sam. You were in first grade, you were an absolute boss. I don't know. maybe. I don't know. I was getting spanked in first grade. You were also probably getting spanked but at different times. At home. That's great. We support that, just B T W, so unsubscribe if you don't. All right, everybody, we are back and we're gonna see if we can do you have time for a quick interview? What? You have time for a quick interview? For choice men? Yeah, all right, Sam's gonna interview you. I'm not a man. And here's that that's okay. Woman. Okay, that's good. So what is the the biggest thing you're looking forward to this school year for starters? Man. Having a grandkid? But that's unrelated to school actually. And so that is a real feature. Daphne, you seem really unimpressed right now. Daphne lives for life unimpressed. yeah. Sam, that's a good question. I think I'm excited mostly for all the places that school is working up and to the right. I think that we continue to get better and more dialed in with things and I think that's fun to watch and so I'm glad for another year of China. Yeah. And what do you do for for school? Well, I am in administration as well as teaching a class. And so I think I think this year though I'm going part time and so that actually will be that will be a new feature of my school life is being part time and not full time. Yeah. Awesome. Looking forward that. Yeah, good. I'm excited about that part too. Well thank you for your time. I'm sure you have more people that you're gonna want to talk to. My unimpressed daughter. Yeah in fact you're gonna get interviewed now even if you don't want to. so what's your name? Daphne. And what grade are you going into? Twelve. Okay, so we've we've talked to a couple other seniors so far and we've asked them what their goals are for the year. What are your goals? To graduate. Okay. See that you started relatively academically. Everybody else like Joshua started with athlet athletics. huh. Ali said I'm gonna have a better GPA than Joshua. huh. Not barely. what about you? Other than just graduating. That seems like a pretty low bar. have a good time? Be a good person. This is the worst interview ever brought to you by Daphne McKinnis. All right. Check the Thank you. Joshua, what was that? Surprise, surprise. Surprise, surprise. Yeah. Well your interview wasn't very good either. are you math are you a math person? I am a math person sometimes when you're not. When I don't want to be. When it's hard. All right, let's let's head to the next spot. Yeah, he's not saying much. All right guys, we're here with who? Mr. Walton, Josh, depending on who's talking to me. Unless it's a student or a parent, you know, that's there's differences. Yeah. let's see, what are your goals for this year? have a lot of fun, learn a lot of things, because if you're teaching you need to be learning more than the than the kids. So so yeah, learning how to be better at what I'm doing. Trying to memorize all the poems too. I I have a lot of that I've just had there stuck in my head for, you know, thirty Some odd years. Okay. but I need to memorize all of them. So I'm working on that doing that too. That's awesome. And in terms of bees. Yeah. Is bees getting bigger this year? Is it relatively old? They're they are doing better this year. So we're coming into this season. Sound like I'm, you know, talking about you know, the the basketball. Yes, we're seeing Yeah. So our plan is to do better this year and be better and make more honey and yeah. Yeah, so that's it. We've got five hives. they It's been a long time since I've had, you know, brand new hives. And so I'm still trying to figure out is this how they normally are? we had one of die off. so we're we're trying to see how this year's gonna be, but it's it's better off than last year was. So awesome. Yeah. Growing and flowing. Yeah, and that that's like a thing that kids and parents and pretty much anybody it's welcome to do. Yeah, anybody can come and do that. Like it's it is it is a ton of fun. We usually meet every other Friday. you can get on the the apiary club email and I'll send out you know a warning ahead of time and we'll get out there and and get our hands in some honey and check out on the bees, see the queens, hopefully find there's no mites on you know, we usually spend about sixty minutes out there and Yeah, we might even do a a harvest this year. So I'm pretty excited about that. Well, and if you don't mind then I think I can put your personal like school email in there and then people can reach out if they want to know about bees. And then also you're part of a podcast for somebody else. Who is that? What is that podcast? The the infamous Mr. Lugg, Ian Lug. he you know, I I it's been a while since I've referred to him as this, but he is Ian the producer. Ooh You know, like comes from you know having lots of children and also being the producer of our show. So That's fantastic. So yeah, we've got some interesting guests lined up. We're just trying to make the schedules work, but some names that will be familiar beyond just our little community. So yeah, we've got got kind of f some some fun guests on the docket. So looking forward to that. Fantastic. And usually with the school year it means they're gonna be podcasting more frequently. Yeah, 'cause you guys are here more. That's right. That's great. yeah, one thing is I actually noticed there is a jar of spent casing from Bullets. So what is that used for? Most classes have a a marble party and so if they do certain things they get marbles and when the jar is full they get to have a party of some sort. I I lost my marbles. But I have brass. And so Of course you do. Yeah. So we have a brass party and so there's certain rewards they get where you know the brass goes in the jar and then we get to go and have a party after that. So I want to be in fifth grade. Let me tell you, I want to be a fifth grade. I want to be in fifth grade. It's great. I I enjoy it. That's fantastic. All right. Well we'll link that email and we'll link what's what's the name podcast? the Defiance and Obedience podcast. Yeah. Yeah. That's great. All right. Well thanks for your time. yeah, thank you. Yeah. What do we have to do with this? No, you gotta hold it like closer to your mouth. my word. Yeah, like that. That's perfect. Woo! Okay, who are we here with? I'm me, Mrs. Hall. Yeah. Are you saying? Well, they no, they know who we are. okay. We've been doing this for a while tonight. Yeah. I haven't seen this. Okay, hi. Yeah, hi. So you're the kindergarten teacher, correct? Yes, sir. Yeah, how many students you have in this year? Five. How much of a drop-off is that from last year? A lot. A lot. Eleven. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. What are you doing with this content? this is going on on a podcast. Okay. Yeah, we're we're trying to show people, our listeners, maybe if they're not familiar with the school, what orientation night is. Okay. And so you were you like took over orientation night. Like you're running it. I was the boss. Yeah, and so I know some of the changes, but what are some of the main changes this year? Main changes. to have a schedule. So we're coming in, we're getting a feel for the place, seeing everybody, everybody sing together. Pray over the year, go home. That's fantastic. Team Hall, Mr. Hall, Addy Hall, me, Joely Hall. We're gonna be the ones to clean up. Everyone can leave and go home and we're gonna do all the things. And feeding everybody dinner, but that was not new this year. It was tried last year. Go Aaron. And we did it again. And so just trying a way to love the people and take something and they can just show up and bless people. That's fantastic. Yeah. And Sam, you can ask what we've asked everybody. But you can do it. Big goals of this year. To learn first grade curriculum. Me, so I get 13 first graders. I love to purpose to learn something new that I don't know, so I have to be the learner. But God gave me that this year. So I will have 13 first graders after lunch every day. And I get to learn the first grade Bible curriculum and science and all great things. So God has dished up a learn this in order to teach it. So I get that from the Lord. Well, that's fantastic. Yeah. Thank you very much for the interview. Thank you. Woo! Go team all. That's right. Alright, guys, we're here with our probably f at least last or second to last interview. This is my father, but also board member, teacher. What's your name? Dad? Board member? Teacher. I think there's another name in there. like my actual name of your wedding. Yeah, what does the IRS call you? Yeah. Sean Higgins. That's good. Yeah. And what are you teaching this year? I've got one class, it's called Cornerstone. Ooh. Explain that a bit. Yeah. I mean, what what level of explanation do you want? I mean, whatever. I'm holding a spatula. Like what kind of level of explanation are we expecting with a spatula? Probably spatula level explanation. Sure. Yeah, Cornerstone is obviously Jesus, but cornerstone is the Bible. So it's a freshman class that talks about how the Bible is unlike any other book that we read. As much as as we love reading at ECS, the Bible is the only one that has no errors in it and claims to be from God. and then we actually study how to study or read the Bible so that we have confidence in that. so observation, interpretation, application. And then we f we finish up the year with some theological terms so that people know what's that word about when they read it in an omnibus book? they have their own little dictionary that they can look at. That's fantastic. What is Sam even doing back there? Sam, Sam's He's listening to see if if I know what I'm talking about. Yeah, Sam's to ask you the question we've asked everybody so far that we've interviewed. Maybe like what are the the big goals of of this year for school or for your class? The big goals for my class in particular. Sure. And then maybe we'll ask you as a board member. Mm. Okay. Well, big goal in my class is probably back to the word confidence. So It was a couple years when I finally realized that the the last part of confidence is fide. So faith. And the con part is with. So with faith. So a person who has confidence is a person who is living by or living with faith. And I want the students to be able to have confidence in God's word, that it is God's word. I want them to be able to have confidence that they can read it and understand it. And then I want them from reading and understanding it to be able to have confidence in their own life as a Christian. So yeah. Confidence is a is a big deal for our class. Perfect. Another board member? So cornerstone, you know. So they are building their life on God's word. Yep. Awesome. Board member, big goals for the board, maybe for the school? Yeah, I I don't know if this is If I can like speak on behalf of the entire board, but I would speak for myself as one of the board members. Sure. That we are really aiming to try to be as clear as we can this year, especially in terms of making sure that everybody knows what they're supposed to be doing. And then other things that they are not supposed to be doing. And then who is supposed to be doing the things that they're not supposed to be doing. So that's actually a big deal that we're working on administratively. And the board is included in that. Yeah. Awesome. Well, thank you for your time and if you got more people to talk to, you can get back to that. Boom. IMG 8235: Yeah you you To you we take... IMG 8237: to God above. IMG 8238: Alright, everybody, we're back. We are with Chairman Chuck. He is a board member. Well, I mean, obviously chairman of the board. And what were what were we doing tonight? How would you say it went? so we did orientation. I if I had to guess, I would say that maybe twenty-five or thirty percent of the students slash parents are here. Yeah. So it's just a get together especially for the newer people, so they know we're Like who their teachers are, what their classes are gonna be, where their classes are gonna be, those kinds of things. Just kinda give a little lay of the land. and we had a little ice cream beforehand. Yeah. So it's kind of the what what tonight was about. That's great. Yeah. Yeah. Sam, what what have we asked everybody pretty much tonight so far? Yeah. Big goals for the year or big goal for the year. what for more as a board member. As a board member, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. well, I mean Everything kind of revolves around starts at enrollment and so you know we're we're an inexpensive place to educate your kids in this way. But that means that we need more of them and so I think that right now we're at a hundred and fifty five K to twelve roughly. And if we had a hundred and seventy that would fix a bunch of things. Yeah. so yeah, and we're also we're not an evangelistic school like some other schools in our area where we're a discipleship school, which means that we're partnering with parents. And so our like our ideal family is is a very small focused window. Right. And we're happy with that, but that also means that we don't have as big of a pool as say some of the other Christian schools in our area. Which is which is fine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're working to get some more get some more people into that. So trying to cross cross pollinate on our on our podcast here. So thanks for being on and thanks for your time. Sure. It's great. Thank you. IMG 8239: Got a lot to watch here. All right guys, the last person you just saw there was Chuck Weinberg. He is a he is the chairman of the Evangel Classical School Board. and again tonight was orientation night at Evangel Classical School. We will link the the school down in the description. You also probably just saw a pop up. go ahead look look up. K to twelve, Christian Classical School. We both went there from first through twelfth. we would have gone in kindergarten, but we were there. You know, got started at a different age for us. So that's great. again, we're located in Marysville, Washington. So come check us out. And the reason that we're doing it on this podcast is because we like to cross pollinate community things. we also are trying some new video styles. So let you let us know what you guys thought about it in the comments. And we'll catch you guys next time. Choice man signing off. Peace.
