Quantum Dispatch: Before we go properly live, now Xbox are bringing out a 25. Luminous transparent green. I've seen it. You don't need it. No, you don't need it. You don't need it. I don't use it. The only reason you'll ever use a console is to play Squadron 42. On that note, hello everyone and welcome back to the Quantum Dispatch podcast. It's episode 11 and today we're talking about all the big drama that's been going on for the last couple of weeks in Star Citizen. But before we get into that, obviously we had a week off last week. And now we are back together. We are missing swanky, but the three boys, CJ, myself, GFA and Wondark, we're back together and we're going to bring some beautiful content to your face today. And there'll be a concierge challenge, which we haven't done in a while. And it's like our staple thing here. But before we get into the meat, boys, how are you doing? I'll start with you, CJ. Cause whenever I leave it ambiguous, everyone goes silent. So CJ, how are you doing? You said before we enter the meat and then said me, like surely. Now we're getting into the meat. god. ⁓ Hello. I'm good. Had a few drinks. I've been out playing airsoft today so I've been in the sun quite a bit. I'm knackered. I'm tired. And for some reason I've got more energy than I probably should have. I should be in bed right now crying. ⁓ But yeah, I mean, I'm good. I've really got nothing to say. That's good for a podcast. That's so good for a podcast. And join us next week. No, but I mean, the verse has been getting some patches, right? It's been apparently it's been quite playable. I think I saw something from Chunk Rider to say that the ironclad is now working-ish with the workaround, I think. You know, when players have to find bugs to make bugs work is a terrible like... design thing in your game, still, whilst you're on that, before you go any further, just because we're on the ironclad for this one second, we're not going to talk about too much. What do you think about them going rough? do you think about them ⁓ going for adding pilot controls into the ship? Because who's going to use a command module? Terrible. No, no terrible idea. Good. Okay. Absolutely terrible idea, because it was a design feature that was thought about and planned. And now they've gone back on it because the community had gone ⁓ this is a idea. We're going to on in the bridge. It's not a bridge. It's just a control room. Sorry for swearing, George. You have to bleep that out. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, But yeah, no, it shouldn't have a bridge within the ship. It defeats the purpose of having a command module. What's point of connecting your command module if you can just fly it with the ship? Can I weigh in on this? No. Yeah, go on. So I'm a bit... concerned about this because to me it sounds like a let's just patch it up and fix it and then we'll look at it properly down the line, which is obviously not a situation we would want to be in. But it did make me think I was on I was on the beach in Spain reading about this and I was like this is a holiday. don't think you said it just sounded like reading between the lines. It was like we can't fix this. It's not in our pipeline. We haven't got the resources to go in and really sort of refactor what done, like, and spend more development time on it. Let's just put something we have already. Let's just make a captain seat in the bridge and just go, yeah, okay, cool. Then we don't have to worry about that. We just be like, don't go in there. It doesn't work as properly, but people still get used. So it's like they give, but it's not quite, it's not the promise is it? So hopefully they, I'm wrong and they've got something they can go in constructing and say, right, fix it. ⁓ maybe have this easy fix for now, but we are fixing it. I would love to see that as opposed to, because there is a lot of people that you sold a broken ship, it needs to be fixed. And especially as a lot of people we know have upgraded to it. I've upgraded my concierge fleet to have, why they're called concierge fleet? It's just doing the concierge challenge there, isn't it? I upgraded my fleet to incorporate a uncled assault in there as well. So I want it to work. I learned other people want it to work as well. So, Wanda, do want to talk about like your intro? Because we kind of like did George's intro, mine intro, and then we kind of got off. It's fine. It's not that it wasn't lost to me. just was like, no, no, never mind. Two weeks off and it's like come back and no one cares. No, no, it's only because CJ mentioned the Ironclad and I wanted to touch on it quickly and then move on. So please, please, what have you been up to? Oh, do we really want to go into this? Okay, I was on phone day for a week and a ⁓ And then I was the guest of ACES ROG out in Taipei for almost a week and just had the most amazing experience. But for that, you're going to have to go into my personal channels. So I'm actually like, tell them where it is. Twitch, no Twitch, Twitter, X, Instagram. That's it really. One of this. Yeah, I don't like. If you want good content, then go to C.J. Radley, Twitch.tv, forward slash C.J. Radley. Bro don't even post. But yeah, just give me more followers than the one doc so I can show my account to him. yeah, I mean, should we go back to the iCloud a quick sec then whilst we're whilst we're somewhat there and we've done our intros? I think it's really dangerous that they're now deciding to put a bridge inside whatever the control center was for the remote weapon systems. Because it shows now there is creep. There's now feature creep in ships. There's now whoever shouts in the community the loudest gets what they want. And if the community are now shouting things, it this has been directly influenced by the community to change a feature on a ship. I don't think that's healthy. When's the last time the community have ever kicked off about something and they've changed something? Like, ship-wise? planes? Well, that's more feature. That's part of the flight model and stuff. features in a ship. We all know there was a content creator that kicked off and got a an extra jump seat in the Terrapin medic, but we won't go into that. then claimed it was his great idea. And it was like, you can all thank me for this. No one gives a f***, shut up. Anyway. What was funny is I was recording a video at the time and in my video I go, ⁓ they should put this here. And I sent it to Pete. was like, Pete, we were talking about it. And then that got posted and we were like, why has he reinvented the wheel? We literally spoke about this 10 hours ago. It's just an obvious thing, wasn't it? Yeah. It's just like just using it for clout at that point. This is what I told Dev and they got it in the game. Yeah, cool. Great. Yeah. Thumbs up. God's star. Do you want to play Peter Badger? But I think it's really dangerous that they've now gone back on a design that's been released, not even a concept. They've not changed a concept and released it. They've now gone back on what they released, gone, yeah, this is sick. it is beautiful. The ironclad is amazing. It's awesome. We walked around it. I walked around it for ages because obviously we couldn't fly it because it didn't work. And then now they're going back on not going back, they're changing features after the ship's release. I don't think that's I don't think that's good. Because now where do they stop? Right. Now people are just going to ask for other things. Did I say no? Did I do it? I feel like this is asking for the pothole in the road to be fixed. Like they need to do something about it. But they like go via this diversion for now. I don't think that... What you think they're doing this to get around the issues with the command module opposed to... I think they want to give people a ship that functions, which is fine for now. It's like the diversion irreversible though, isn't it? You can't give people a... control position on the ship, like a new seat or something, unless they add it to like one of the weapons seats, but you can't go, here's a command seat that you can fly it completely without that module attached and then take it back when you get it working again. It's one or the other. It's either you have a command module and it flies the ship or you have a position on the ship that you can also fly from, which makes a command module basically an escape pod because no one's ever going to use it for anything other than that. It's not an escape pod. ⁓ CJ no Drake do not do escape pods. You know, mean though, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Right, okay. Go down with the ship. Okay, so people will use it as an escape. Sorry, another swear word at 11 minutes past nine. You've had like several so far, but... All right. I use AI to get rid of them also. If it gets missed, it's not even my fault really. I saw someone on social media turn around and said, sound, you've done your test of command modules. Can we now just not permanently attach them to the ship? Can we now just code out the feature where I know it's not as easy as said and done. You can't just like go, ⁓ yes, sick, remove that feature, like comment out that line of code and that's it. It's no longer an issue. I would rather the command module just not be detachable, be permanently affixed to the ship, then it randomly popping off and also getting a seat within the ship. really would make it the Fattapillar. Yeah, but the caterpillar doesn't have these problems. So why does the So I know obviously the caterpillar got the command module, but I haven't tested that at all. So they've got no issues at all with the caterpillar. Not that I'm aware of. Chet maybe had to point out. But I've used the caterpillar. I must do. And it works fine. I've not had any issues. The only issues I have had is my landing gear being half a foot stuck into the pad. and not been able to fly off of anything, which I believe is fixed now, I'm the verse a bit of a wide berth until I can actually fly a ship properly without exploding or something. I assumed that the command module issue was... Because the one bug that I saw a lot was it was just detached during quantum. So you'd be jumping somewhere and it would just detach, right? And then the one part would keep going. So in my head... It was a coding issue where they had basically coded it as two separate ships when you're using quantum rather than one entity. So two ships are trying to quantum together and then it was breaking, which we know doesn't work in the game. It used to, but you can't quantum as a group anymore. It's been bugged for like two years, but it used to work. Used to have to jump together in a big group. So I think maybe that's a fundamental flaw in the decoding design language, well, design language, wrong terminology, but the The coding design when they were building that to treat it as two separate ships is probably the issue if that's what they've done because then it's desyncing and unattaching and the whole thing is it should have been as one entity when it joined but that must be quite difficult to do because I'm sure they would have thought of that when they did it. I think it I just don't think they should be making it a separate thing. The command module was designed to be a command module. It was part of the ironclad. It's part of the caterpillar. It's kind of the uniqueness and coolness of those ships and it has to work and I completely get that people are to say well if it doesn't work then why is it in the game at the end of day it's a video game we just want it to work I get that but there's a compromise of do you want them to fix the command module and get it working as intended where then it's great and then we move on with our lives with a working product whether it's another couple of months down the line or draw them a compromise and just say now you can have this and it makes a command module completely pointless pretty much. But you have a working ship, there you go, for now. But they're never going go back on that because they can't. So I don't know. I just think I'd get the command module working personally. It's definitely a desync problem because when you take the jump gates, the ship spins around and it just gets dropped out of the jump tunnel. So it's definitely like, it's, and I'm not, I'm going to use the word poor servers. It's not poor servers. It's poor server performance. ⁓ which is the reason why, and desync, I think the reason why they've opted for the command seat in the iCloud is because they don't want to fix it. Because if, if it's server related, they don't care anymore. They, they don't care about the state of the servers or the service getting better. because we, we, they're building dynamic server machine. Theoretically, this shouldn't be a thing when dynamic server machine is in. So it's probably one of those where they don't want to invent new features for something that's just going to become obsolete. So I can kind of understand if this is the reason why, and they've just opted for the command module because they've just said to the dev teams, look, we ain't fixing this shit. We ain't fixing this stuff for another. For another. Because that helped. Yeah, I went back and see I said it again. So yeah, we ain't fixing this stuff for another year. We just need to do this because otherwise the vehicle is going to be unusable for that period of time. Pull the ship. I don't know. Do something, but don't change the design, the functionality of a ship after it's been released. I can get tweaking it if it needs it's like, you know, like Mark 2 or like, well, like, you know, when you like gold standard it and you tweak certain things on the ship. I can understand that, but purely just to avoid a bug, which is realistically what it is, right? They've done this to purely avoid a bug. changed effectively the concept of the vehicle, I don't think is great. Agreed. Just hopefully it's not with these like temporary, like tier zero things that we still have. Temporary. Temporary permanent fix. Temporary. Like, like Iron Recovery. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no, look, if they're doing it to get around a bug and they're going to add a functionality in or change the core functionality of a ship to work around a bug, that's poor form. They need to just focus on fixing what's there, like they have with most of the stuff in the game. They shouldn't be compromising. People have got to just suck it up. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. It's annoying. We all love the ironclads. Suck it up. There's two, three, four, five, six hundred other ships to use in the game. Especially cargo ships. We're no lack of cargo ships. Just suck it up and wait. It will be working when it's working is how I see it, because I don't want them to start compromising and changing stuff because they've I mean, they, you know, the community is not wrong. They shouldn't have released it clearly. It doesn't work, but they obviously didn't know that without releasing it and getting the data. So what's the PTU for if not testing things? I don't know. But you know, at the end of the day, it should have been thoroughly tested and then fixed and then released. Didn't happen. That's the thing. the ironclad was in the PTU and didn't work. ⁓ yeah, but so was half of 4.8 was in PTU and didn't work and they still went, there it goes. And then there was, let's hold the free fly everyone because we're responsible adults and it's not working. So it'd be poor form to do the free fly. Two days later, here's a free fly. As soon as the free fly ends, server maintenance down for like 12 hours. I mean, it's been an absolute show for the past three or four weeks. And that was me swearing there. Thanks GFA. Future GFA is going to hate current GFA. But current GFAs had two frozen margaritas. So yeah, I don't know. It's a ⁓ mess out there right now. it's one of those where like, so it was bugged, right? ⁓ In the PTU. ⁓ granted, different bugs. But surely they should have fixed those bugs. And then they would have tested the new client on the PTU, but they didn't. They just they just went straight to live straight to live with well, actually, they said we're not going to do a free flight until the bugs are fixed. And then like not even 24 hours later launched a free flight whilst they fixed nothing. They fixed nothing. ⁓ So I so someone someone in CIG went, yeah, we're not going to do this, the free fly and then marketing went issue. And then they were like, OK, well, looks like we've done a free fly. I'm so perplexed on the dev line on how this works, how marketing... They could have delayed defense con. They could have. Of course they could have. No one's asking for it. No one actually cares. People just want to play the game. con was good. Like no one cares for like, ⁓ any, any event though. Like defense cons great, but no one cares, bro. No one cares if it's now or in six months, they just want to play the game. No one's sitting there going other than for ship sales and stuff and CCU chains. Right. Those people care. But everyone else is just like, I just want to play the game. No one is sitting there going, ⁓ I need this thing. Where's IAE? Where's Defencecon? ⁓ we need this event. Otherwise, I'm not playing the game anymore. No one gives a s***. They're setting themselves up for failure every time. And then they're like, ⁓ well, we had to do it. No, you didn't. Literally didn't. So you know what the fun thing is? And this is going to be something that you guys are going to go, ⁓ no. this is not the case or this is not the thing and try and like turn it away. But inside you'll think CJ's been right all along. They have still not released a patch. They've still not released 3.4.0, but they've still not released a major patch that has worked. since for as long as since 4.0, 4.0 has probably been the only patch they've dropped that's worked. But that's because they removed all of the content, like everything that 4.0 should have been. But every patch since then has not worked. Every major feature of that patch has broken, been broken. I can name them, give me a patch and I'll tell you what was wrong. And even on this one, they dropped DefenseCon, they dropped the, what, five vehicles, was it? The laser shark, ironclads, Starlight, five vehicles. And the Starlight fuel system is terrible. You refuel one ship and you have to go refuel the Starlight. What's the point of refueling that can only refuel one ship? Yeah, they need to have a look at that because that's the volume. It's just crazy how it's so different. Yeah, and it's carnage. Ironclads don't work. Laser shark, I think is probably the only thing that actually works. And the pitbull actually, give the pitbull. ⁓ And then MAE, think has been mid. It's worked, but I think it's been mid as a... What? All right, guys, I'm sending CJ backstage. Yeah, sorry. I'll take some time off. ⁓ But I don't know, every major feature has been like the content has been busted. Can I play Devil's Advocate? Yeah, go on. It's usually my job. It is an alpha. The whole point of it is to test stuff at the end of the day. The game has never worked. Name me a major patch that has been flawless. 4.0. But you just said 4.0 hasn't released. Yeah, because they removed everything 4.0 should have been. What was in 4.0? No, wasn't. Pyro. No, I'm gonna caveat this with maybe 4.1 was pretty good, but 4.0 was not good. were the work, we just kept clipping out of stations. It was a bit of a mess, but we got Pyro and people were like happy for it. was playable, you can go a whole night with... Yeah, but if you just stayed in Checkmate Station and you didn't fly anywhere then you're okay. were on consistently all the time. But you can play now, like, well actually no, now's a bit of a I love the very quick regression. I did play for five hours yesterday, no problems. But all I did was just like PvP combat and some PvP stuff. I say that I ran an ASD facility, fell through the floor and lost my two hours of work that I needed to put this thing. So actually, I'm talking sh**. Ignore me. It doesn't work. No, but that's the thing, right? They're releasing all this so much content in the game. There's like ASD, there's Project Hyperion, there's Rock Cracker and QV stations, whatever. I don't even know, I've not done it yet. There's all the contested zones, the entire contested zones loop that takes weeks to like get through and like collect everything. There's an entire wickler system for getting all of these ships and stuff like that. How do you feel about the ⁓ keys for contested zones now expiring? I did not know. They're expiring. Why? How? It's It was brought in a while ago, but basically any old keys you've got don't work anymore. Oh, for anyone that duplicated, right? to get around No, it's in like Well, they've wiped it anyway. No, the keys, they actually physically expire. You get like a week to do it after you've done. So you have to everything in that week. It's crazy for me with work all the You know how mad that is for, right, I'm going take us, well, not GFA, but us as parents with full-time jobs, who I can maybe get on for like two hours a night. We don't like sleep, so we're okay. We're okay. Absolutely. that like to sleep, you're done. The regular like person, the normal people won't be able to complete this within a meaningful timeframe unless they have orgs that will run it and collect keys for particular people. Yeah, if they like sullans, just go along with an evening, once everyone else has done all the hard work. That's why I always felt it was good what we were doing, where we'd go beforehand and say, right, I want this, that's my ship. You want that, that's your ship. And it was like luck of the draw then, wasn't it? People still came away with Suluans. But we got to take brand newbies on these trips. And they're ⁓ cool, I met these guys, I got a Suluan. They think it's the best ship. It's like really weird to like fly, harder to land without like key binding rear view camera. ⁓ But people had the time of lives. And then they were like... Let's go and do more. We're like, OK, let's go do more. Yeah. There was method to our madness. We were weak. It's so difficult just to get those keys to run that style of event. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how I feel about that. I've not actually heard anything on it, not seen it. ⁓ So, I mean, I can't really. I still have the keys. Yeah, I still have. They are all dead. Hmm. Right. How do you still have the keys, The keys exist. But the screens on them are gone. They're like, as in like this. Is it in your inventory? It's in the inventory, but it didn't get wiped. So how have you still got No, it's not wiped. Yes, sorry, now they've gone. Right. Post-wipe, but before the wipe they've, yeah. Right, I'm with you. I was so confused what you said. No, Dan, the MAT is not the best ship. I love the MAT. No, the best ship actually is the Ironclad, even though it doesn't work. But no, Harold, Beship. I mean, I'm going through the patch notes and I don't even know actually how to say your name. Bloog, Bloogheed, Bloog. Go on, Wanda, help me. so can't. Blowheed? Blowheed? Oh, Bloogheed? Yeah, yeah, Bloogheed. That's the one. And he said 4.3 actually worked. Yeah, I think it did. That was ASD. I'll tell you everything is in 4.3 because I literally have spent the time pulling this up. NPC dropships that works. The Umandi, bit buggy, but worked. Bit laggy, but does work to be fair to it. ⁓ Then it's just a bunch of armor stuff and hairstyles. They were fine. Ladder improvements. We can let him get away with that. Although we never actually got the true ladder improvements we were supposed to get that got rolled back, but we got a form of it if I remember correctly. Yeah that was meant to be like a temporary sort of solution wasn't it? Well there was going to be a proper solution then it got rolled back to a temporary one because they couldn't get it working and we're still on the temporary one similar to tier zero. ⁓ But yeah fair enough like it is what it is it's not a big deal at least it's better than it was. Dynamic snow that works as far as I know. Ship flight tuning changes sure. Light fighter stuff. Medical gameplay improvements. Are they implemented med gel? Arm and Ballistic Damage Updates, Missile Damage... I mean, all of this stuff is stuff that's more back-end. I was more talking about features, guess. Onyx Facilities. Onyx Facilities work, but as I said, I fell through them yesterday and lost a key. So I fell through the planet. So that was a big old waste of time. ⁓ Other than that, everything else they've released in 4.3 has worked. We don't talk about the Apollo ships, but they work. Yeah? Yeah. I looked at that and yeah, 4.3, I will regress on my statement partially. I'd say 4.3 was a working patch. But everything else would be terrible. ⁓ But to be fair, I've not even done the ASD facilities, so I wouldn't even know. I'd say it's only been the last three patches that have been really horrific. Like six, seven and eight have been pretty, pretty rough. Before that, it was kind of flowing okay. But then there's a lot of big things added in those patches. Yeah. With the inventory rework and then with the command module stuff with all things like refactors and I don't know, like it's a tough one because we want more stuff to be added to the game. And the only way to get the data is just to do it on mass. I still think the PTU should just be open to everyone always, and they should just roll stuff out and let everyone test it at once just to... I guess the good thing about having wave one is they can control the flow of traffic, right? They have a, they open it to a thousand people, then 10,000 and a hundred thousand, as if there's that many players currently playing. But you know what I mean? That's the upside of having the waves. But I think we should get to the highest wave as soon as possible and it should sit in that highest wave for more than a week or even two. It should be there for like a month. Really? Like they should be extensive. heavy load testing before it goes live because then you get what happened this time around where you push something live and you have to take it down for 12 14 however many hours to do maintenance because everything's a bit I've done all this maintenance and what has it achieved I'm sure it's fixed stuff that we don't see as players but it hasn't improved much by terms of gameplay from my experience personally but I'm sure it has done some good stuff in the backend to the database and stuff. But yeah, as a player, haven't seen it. Yeah, I think that's the, that's, think that's a partially like big issue as well, is they're trying to do this stuff. And at of the day, the game isn't for us, the game's for CR, but we're the players and we should be the ones playing it. So surely, I don't know. We should be the ones that are benefiting from these changes and they've done all of these changes for a while and we still have inventory issues. Command modules still don't. Cargo missions are still temperamental. You can still lose cargo through like hanger pads and just things just randomly disappear still. People can... I've seen people get murdered in Grim Hex now. I don't know what has happened there, whether that's a bug, whether that's a change, but people are just running around freely in Grim Hex, getting into people's hangers and stuff like that. Like, I we went away from that. That was a feature that, to be fair, I actually still don't agree on. I still think we should still be able to choose hangers and sneak into people's hangers. course you do. Of course, yeah. But now they've created this whole thing where, you're protected in your hanger, yet you can still get murdered. So the feature that they've implemented to get around people crying now doesn't work anymore. I don't know. And I'm not going to moan about the game for the entire hour of a podcast. I've done 33 minutes already. was going to say, you're already huffing through. Why not continue as you're meant to go on? One thing is always key to remember as GFA's remind us, this is a game in alpha, it is a game in development and we have always unreleased... 14 years. Yes, yes, you can continue but I just want to say 14 years. Did you watch Summer Game Fest? There were games in dev for like 22 years that looked like dog doodoo. Yeah. I almost swore. Oh ho. Oh ho. And double three margaritas. Three margaritas and you would have swore. The thing is, we've got these unrealistic expectations for the game. Oh yeah, this should work. Take it down, do a bit of maintenance, put it up and it works. It's like, cool, but this game is a building site. Imagine you're building a hotel and on day three of a 14 year build, people turn up and they want to use the rooms and they go, why is the window not working? Why are my taps not working? Because it's not plugged in yet. It's not working yet. But they keep building these floors and people want to go and live on the new floor. it's like, but it's not ready yet. I get it. when floor one still doesn't work 14 years later into a five year project or a 10 year project. Yeah, floor one is like transportation, which obviously does have bugs. It still doesn't work. just, it's just had to be I'm not to be so negative. be fair. But the hotel wouldn't be, yeah, exactly. The hotel wouldn't be open. To be fair. wouldn't be open. It's like that door's not working today, so you have to go around the back and use the back door. Like it's, know, bugs like that you can live with. When it doesn't work completely, that's where it's like, you need to put like... If you want the players to have this experience, then they need to put the work in to make sure that that's being achieved. But it does feel like there's a cadence dictated by marketing that is leading the charge. again, they were like, we're going to delay free flight. And people are like, good, positive choice. You could tell that Defencecom was delayed a little bit as well, but then it all happened, boom, and then... couple days later it was like, yeah, we're delaying. Boom, Free Fly was active. It's like, this is not ready. This is not the experience you want to show. There was no difference really between when Jared said, we don't want to bring new players into the game for them to see that there's problems and then Free Fly doing it live. And how much is really a positive impact does that have out for new players? I don't see it having such a great positive effect. They've got the data or we don't, but I just don't want to be a complete negative sort of space. But equally, if you want to have that experience, need to make sure they nurture and maintain that experience for new players and players returning to the game as opposed to just it being a mess. I will say from like a dev and coding standpoint and CJ would know this from Quantum Commander and from my nine to five as well with dev stuff. Not obviously not at such a high level, but it's high level. But when you When you fix a bug, sometimes you create others or when you implement something new, you create other issues. It's just the nature of development. So yeah, we talk about the hotel. You might have built floor one and two. And then when you build floor three, you spring a leak on floor two. Then you fix that leak and then you build four and five. And then suddenly floor one's flooded and crumbling. You've got to go back down to floor one and fix it. But then floor three has a bug because of floor one. The analogy kind of fell apart there, but you get what I mean. Sometimes by implementing new stuff and fixing other things, you break other things and that's the nature of coding. So it's, and you've got to bear in mind, it's all done by different departments. It's all splintered across this huge business where everyone's working at the same time. So it's really difficult. And I do, I sympathise with them because they're just human beings doing their job and I get it and it's tough, but the communication is not very good. And I do think there is some occasional. condescending content that comes out from wherever we see it on spectrum or we see it on like an ISC or something where it's kind of treated like kids or idiots and like at the end of day, it's a video game, right? We're just trying to enjoy our time outside of our nine to fives. So I get it, but just talk to us like big boys and big girls and just say, hey, this is exactly what the problem is. This is the bug, blah, blah. It's just the openness and the The don't sugarcoat stuff when it's not working. Don't push free flies when everything's anyway. Don't push a whole event based around freight elevators when your freight elevators do not work. And then say we had a task force, we fixed freight elevators and do they work today? Absolutely not. They don't. I thought they were fine now. They're not fine now. They're not even remotely were not fine for the resource drive. And that was one of the most frustrating things is like getting there. Is it going to work? No, it's not. It's like Why would you make an event that does this? At that point, let's take the whole patch down and do the work. That's your task team, right? Get everyone in, let's get everyone fixing it. And then put it back out and say, right, okay, we're re-extending this event, but it's working. Whereas all they did was sort of like a temporary sort of like, yeah, a temporary push and then, kept the patch up and it still frustrating for a long time. think there's a lot of grace and a lot of faith that we put into CIG and we like the people that work there and we respect them. Although sometimes we might not come across, obviously a lot of the time we're being facetious of what we say here, but we do have these disappointing moments where we do want to just voice our frustrations. I think there's a lot of grace that goes with the player base in the community to CIG because of squadron and because that's taken a lot of resource and time and an effort. And I think if there's not a significant increase in output and fixes. and content and drive to get to 1.0 once Squadron comes out, whether that's the end of this year, which I don't think it will be, or early next year, whenever it may be. If there's not a significant change where we see Star Citizen get a true front seat away from the marketing stuff, away from the cool ships and the cool stuff that we see and actual gameplay be added that works and that's tangible and means something. I think this game will die on itself. Squadron is not going to keep it afloat. Squadron is going to be great. But it's going to be a flash in the pan. If Star Citizen doesn't get the love and time that it needs and improvements are not seen, you'll see a lot of people just slowly start to give up, I think, because we've seen it already. Yeah, you've already seen ⁓ Cry Avenger 1 left because of the game. And then a couple of content creators have turned around. You just follow ⁓ social media and they've just out and out said on social media, right, I'm going to play this other game until the game's fixed. And they've gone. yeah. Do you remember that one guy, I was talking about this the other day, do you remember that one guy who was like, CIG, delete my account, I don't want a refund, just delete it. Crazy. He's laughing now though, isn't he? Is he? Well yeah, he doesn't have to f*** off this s*** anymore. I guarantee he's gone and bought a $45 package. Man, Foxy Locksy in his latest video killed me. He was like... He was ranting about about star citizen and about how it was right. And then the bro just turns around and goes, I can't say I'm not going to spend any money ever again. But what I am going to say is I'm not going to spend as much money. was like, you're so broken. You're speaking everyone's language right now. That's the problem. We, and chat. We are the problem. Yeah. Because we should just go. Like, I'm not, we've got an epidemic in the United Kingdom where everyone's just canceling the TV license because they've had enough. We just need to do this with Star Citizen. Just stop buying ships. But you lot keep buying ships. But that's the thing. Like everyone keeps buying the ships, complaining about it, buying more ships. And it's one of those where marketing see the numbers of money coming in and they go, this is what we need to keep doing. when it's not what they need to keep doing, they need to fix the game. Like we had an entire year about playability and the game got worse throughout the year in my opinion. Like we had an entire year, the year of, what was it called? The year of stability? The year of playability? The year of playability. And in the last year, I have lost my will to play the game. So I don't know. It was not a successful year last year. Financially it was. That's the problem. You lot. I bought Legionnaire just now by the way. I've got three. It's okay. So you bought one like grey market? No, no. During defence con. ⁓ That's the problem. We are the worst people in this. the we are we hate ourselves. Yeah, yeah. This is why so many Tarkov players end up playing Star Citizen because we already hate ourselves. Yeah, that's what we play Tarkov and we came for the pain of what Star Citizen development is. We just hate ourselves. Yeah. And we keep buying into this delusion. You said something earlier that really like triggered a trigger to thought in my head, which isn't many. But you said that we have a bit of patience with this game. We have so much patience with this game. Any other game community, this game would have flopped already. This game would have flopped 10 years ago. If it was another... If this was... I mean, you saw Call of Duty, and the last Call of Duty was crap, and everyone boycotted it, and no one played it, and now I'm pretty sure it's dead. I don't know, I don't follow... Well, you say that the new one has gone back to basics. that's the thing. everyone's going to go back and play it because it's basics. Because they listen to the community. ⁓ And it's just, yeah, I mean, it's one of those where... I don't know. We are our own worst enemies in this argument. There is nothing. You can't even deny it as well. Yeah, it's pretty horrific. And look at that orange bar. is horrible. Look at May. Look at May. It is four months in total. That bar is June, July, August and September and maybe August combined from last year. horrendous. That's the eye-anklad. Well done, Dan. And it doesn't work. It literally doesn't work. No one cares. It's the Odin. No, Dan. Those cells are the Odin. Oh yeah, fair. I think both, honestly. yeah, Odin. It's the vehicle team. It's the vehicle team driving the money. Like can see this, DefenseCon, IAE, Alien Week to an extent. It is all... that look at the patch isn't working. So it's definitely not the content. It's not the gameplay. It's the ships people need to is FOMO. This is FOMO. But it's the ship team and ship team is making all the money. Would you know what it is? We bought into the concept from day one from 2012 to 2018 before there was a decent playable product to like actually get your teeth stuck into the whole purchasing was based on a dream. We spent six years buying ships based on a dream, based on a game that might be one day. I bought a Carrick based on a JPEG based on a thing that might be in the game one day. That is what Star Citizen was at the beginning and it hasn't changed. So even though the content isn't working, people are still like, well, one day this might be the best game ever. And I want that ship. Yeah. Just for me, it's there's a bit of a turning point and it's Will we ever get that game? Like I was going through the stretch goals with a friend earlier and they were bringing out, so do know we got the battle cruiser? We're supposed to get a cruiser as well as part of the stretch goals. And it was like, do we reckon we'll get the cruiser? Cause the cruiser or the cruiser and the escorts and, bike if he's still in chat. ⁓ Race if he's still in chat. Correct me, because I'm assuming you're with handy now. The... Oh, I can't remember what they're called now, but the certain ships in the lore of the game, Pegasus, for example, is falls into one of those classifications of the vehicles in the stretch goal. And they were like, oh, do you reckon we'll ever get it? then literally... ship in lore, isn't it? No, that's the redemption. But the Pegasus, I think, fall into the same stretch goal as Stasis Star Citizen will release with 60 systems. he's like, do you reckon we'll ever get it? And I'm like, just read one line up and that will tell you your answer. Probably not. Legally do they? That stretch goal with the 60 was based upon you flying between systems. And that was it. Like there's no landing, there's no ground missions, there's no bunkers, there's no defense car and anything like that. It was just you have your ship, you have your hangar. I'm not sure what the system is going to be there because I'm a much newer player. But the idea was that you would fly between systems and everything was just ship combat. there's it's not that there's no context in that. The stretch goal is spend I think it's like 7.5 million. I think it was that one and you'll get a cruiser and you'll get 60 star systems at launch. There's no context of level of what it is. So I understand you can't just It doesn't say you will get this at launch. mil. Four mil. Yeah. So it didn't say at launch or whenever. It just said you'll get the class of cruiser. And there's one for escort as well. Which if it ain't a Mark 1 escort I'm not interested. But the one where it says releases with 60 star systems. They've already gone back and they've regressed on that. Not necessarily. 1.0 is not release you got a better mind here it is that's not the final game though he did say it's not gonna come out with yeah come up with eight that is a release one point one point one is full release yeah one point now is full release though They will get added over time. We're not even in beta yet. Is 1.04 release? feel like that's... I think they're skipping. We've been in alpha for 14 years. beta together. Yeah, we've been in alpha for 14 years. think we can skip beta. Alphas are horrible. Like, I know sometimes we have bad situations with this, but alphas are horrible. Yeah. And you're like, what am I doing? Like, I was part of the Sea of Thieves alpha. was like, this is... Face your thieves. You never said. Hey, I haven't mentioned it a long time, but I was part of that test and only when it really went to like proper beta and they started getting NPCs involved because before that was like, this is a cool game, but there's nothing to do. Yeah, it's. We were just it was an interesting chat because we were saying, ⁓ like legally, do they have to oblige to stretch goals because people funded for it? So have to, but but they can't. Star system, star system will raise for 60 star systems. that I don't. Legally, they should oblige to it because they got four million dollars in funding for that specific purpose. I think they'll find a loophole. still don't think they're casting 1.0 as release. I think it's going to be like early access. 1.0 will be early access. If they're going to hold it to that, then you'll have Nix's Nix's like now, but times 60. Because it would just be like, okay, there's a star, there's a couple of things. No, we're not saying that they become issued, but we're saying that legally. Yeah, I'm saying if they were being pushed down the legal route, those go, okay, fine. We just put 60 systems in. Yeah. And it's like, but then you only have like three or four that are fleshed out the rest will be like, TBC, we're going to build them up. Yeah, but then you've also got to consider they said you're going to have cruisers and escorts within those stretch goals. What they can do give you like a low poly ship like you get on no man's sky like they stay still you have it. It's a great things. So you're what? There's no low poly wide dance in charge. Let me tell you. No, there isn't. Yeah, there's our man still in chat. Because I was busy working. I will say we were going to talk about the Hold it holding up. It's going on the phone. Yeah, his entire vehicle. I love that boy so much. Yeah, man. But yeah, go on. I was gonna say we were going to talk about the drama with the player that got banned. I thought we'd spend literally two minutes on this and then should we do a concierge challenge? Do we still have time? So 10 minutes away from technically finishing. Yeah, we have time. If you remember, we saying that because we weren't going last week that there would be longer this week. Fine. Okay. Everyone happy with that? Who said that? No, I say that. No, I need to go to bed. No one said So well, don't we talk about the we'll talk about the drama real quick and then we'll do a really we'll do a small concert challenge because you said there was a couple that are small. I'm just going to pick one. Fine. If you do that, we'll touch very briefly on the drama because that was what this episode was titled. So for anyone who doesn't know, there was a player that got banned, someone that had spent five thousand dollars on the game. They got banned for exploiting. They then made a Reddit post and said, Hey, I raised a bug report for an exploit. And then you banned me for exploiting, even though it was me raising the report about the exploit. And then they went into posting and they got a response saying it's being upheld. You're banned basically. I'm paraphrased. You can see it all on Reddit. We used to be out to the person's deleted it now, but you'll be able to find it online. There's plenty of videos about it on YouTube. So essentially the long story short. What happened was this player actually had been cheating and doing some cheesy stuff with exploits, etc. And Zylo responded and basically explained, hey, you weren't just banned for no reason. You we have evidence of exploitation on the account multiple times. Yada, yada, yada. ⁓ That's why you were banned, essentially. However, they have now unbanned him and said But we believe in second chances. Technically in my book, this would be like seventh chance and, and your is just a warner final warning. Anyway, this person is now selling their account. So question being, what do you think about all that? What, what's your, do you think they should have had the unban? Can, can I just lead with a bit more context? We all know Zylo. We know how serious that man takes his job. how passionate he is. He absolutely hand on heart, solid evidence must have to be coming out to say any of that stuff. ⁓ They showed the evidence, didn't they? He is so chill in letting things just sort of like come over like a wave and just going, I know they're saying that we're not going to rise to it. But this particular like event for him to come out at the level he has and say, absolutely not. They absolutely have a lot of data on this guy. And yeah, I mean, is selling your account part of a season sees? I think not. So he's probably getting the ban. I, so I think he one, he shouldn't have been unbanned. to CRG could have avoid this if they were transparent or what data they collect. Because obviously they collect a ton of data. So now cheaters are going to look at that. Reddit post if they saw it and go, ⁓ we can't get away with this because they're tracking all of these stats. So I think it's good in hindsight in like the grand scheme of things because now cheaters are going to have a second second or like Jupers or whatever are going to go or actually a cloud tracking this information. But how easy is it for people to now to get caught out for cheating? But I think they should have flexed that card sooner. rather than waiting to ban somebody. I think they should have said, if you dupe, we can see, we can tell. And I know they're gonna be like, there's parameters, right? So people can dupe like once or twice and get away with it. But if they're duping 10 times, then obviously it flags in the economy sort of like system and says that they're duping. ⁓ But I think they should have flexed their cards early, would have avoided this person getting banned. but then also at the same time would have just effectively stopped people juping and cheating to start with. Yeah, you're still going to get people that do it small. But I mean, people do fraud in the real world and they do fraud by little numbers and still get away with it for decades and decades and decades. Obviously, it's not good, not condoning fraud. But the people that get caught, the people that are stupid about it, right? So if you tell people... we are tracking this information and people still go and get banned for it, then they should get banned and they should not get their ban revoked. That's it. Two part question then. I hate people that exploit, I hate cheaters, I hate all that stuff and I want them banned immediately in any game, in any game. I hate people that cheat the game or they exploit or anything like... I hate myself, f*** those guys, right? But we're in an alpha where literally nothing matters that you earn. or dupe or get. Do you think that a permanent ban when someone has spent any money, whether it's 40 quid or 50 grand on an account in an alpha where nothing matters, is it, should it be a permanent ban of bull offence? We all signed the EULA. Yeah, I'm not, this is not me. That's not my opinion. I'm posing the question from the other side of the argument. No, that's, that's my answer. Cheating doesn't matter. what game it is, what state of development it is. You go to another game studio and you cheat and you don't do some sort of exploit. I got banned off of that. What's that pixel game? Roblox. No, the pixel one. The website one. Yeah, I got banned off that. I opened two game clients at the same time and I managed to dupe my picks on slots because I didn't. I got banned off it. And that was a pixel game that literally had like none of it. And I had spent money on that game as well. And I got banned off. Yeah, exactly. But that's the thing. We all signed the EULA. I don't think... I think ban should be permanent in any video game. Doesn't matter if it's juping and it's minor. Like even if it's like juping rep or something like that, I don't care. bound or equipment bound? Equipment bound. I'm hardware bound. I'm... I'm content for hardware bands on cheat and you're like your brothers, your sisters, your mom, your dog, all bad. Yeah, exactly. But like it happens on Counter-Strike and like Steam, you can get VAC banned on certain games and that's it. And they don't go back on that unless you've got evidence to provide it. evidence themselves. I get what Spike said in chat, cheating back in the day on single player games was great. I still think cheating on single player games is okay. It's fine because it's a single player game, you're ruining it for yourself. But in a multiplayer game where you're ruining it for somebody else, I think doesn't. You shouldn't be able to cheat. But I am happy for people to cheat and dupe. What? Because how are you going to fix the dupes and the cheats if people don't do it? I think, right, Eva Carty. do it in Evacai or PTU only. But then what about the bugs that make it out of Evacai and PTU and people do it in live? Because people aren't testing for dupes and bugs in PTU and in Evacai. I was going to say get reported and fixed. I mean, how long did we see the door glitch going on for? ages. Did we utilize it? Maybe. did. I know hands up and bow me for it. I was just fed up. Right. So at the point where I it was a bug that fixed the bug. This is no. Well, there was that like as well. And to explain to everyone listening, there was times where we would go out of our way, go and get the red key card, come to the areas and put the key card in and it would despawn the door when the open. was so many things that would happen. At which point we're like, okay, we'll just get through a door. But we'd done the actions that led up, which would have given us access anyway. So to us, it was justified. At least that was at the beginning. But this is the result of what happened afterwards is the inaction of not banning people who would deliberately doing this stuff. And you'd find every single door a box. ⁓ So someone has been here before. And it messed up stuff, especially when it comes to, what's the station where the door is timed? to get through. Ruin. Yeah, ruin station. And you would be like, OK, we would go in as like a three or four, set up shop, right? OK, we're extracting the stuff. We have a timer running. We would know we need to go back and protect the front door at that time if we want to carry on. But you'd get started and someone would just come through the door and be like, OK, great. And then you got a whole group coming up against you then. So we were like, right, other people are using it. Right, we're using it as well. And it just exacerbated the issue. And it's like, well, yeah. You do need to stop banning people to do it, it needs to be done immediately from the beginning, but also the patch has to be working. it's intricate. It's difficult to sort of delineate how you would do it. It's a tough job. yeah, I mean, if you cheat, you get banned. Simple as that. And it should be permanent. It should be hardware because if you've done it once, you'll be likely to do it again. So goodbye. Go play something else. And exploiters, think maybe maybe shouldn't be as severe as like a hardware ban. If you decide to chuck a box down and get through a door, it's not like that. I think it should be a wrap on the knuckles and it should absolutely be a that you are being temporarily banned for a week for exploiting in a game. If you do it again, Perlman ban. But if you cheat where you download and hack your wall hacking, you're flying through stuff like, yeah, immediately like get rid of those people exploiters. I think. I think I would I would probably say like 60 % of players tried the box glitch at some point in contested zone because they were frustrated with a bug with a fuse not working or something. So should they all get banned for doing that exploit when it was just everyone was doing it? I don't know. I think a wrap on the knuckles for sure. But about permanent ban for that is a bit harsh. But yeah, I'm glad it was a good topic and it links back into that drama that we're seeing at the moment. But that was really funny because that guy came came out with smoke at CIG and then got a nice spank on the inside. But that's the thing. So in that regard, if that guy had said you banned me for exploiting and all I did was submit a bug to the issue council, if he had done that and that was all he did, then yes, I get it. Like that ban should be overruled. because he has benefited the But you go through the rest of his cheats and exploits that he utilized in the post that Zylo came back with, he should be banned. There's no like, no ifs, no buts about it. Like, there's all good and well raising something to the issue council, maybe reproducing it once, maybe twice, but after you've submitted it to the issue council. then I can kind of understand. when you do it a number of times and all that sort of stuff, I don't think it's fair. I think also it should tag on his account. Say this user has previously been banned for whatever. what account, On your RSI account. yeah. This user has been banned for whatever reason. Like a VAC ban? Yeah, because then obviously they've got ⁓ Gadget saying he's... obviously, and you said he's tried to sell his account effectively, if they put that, yeah, that people aren't gonna buy his account. Yeah. So that is further punishment to do an orgs could have a filter like if you have this, this level of thing like a VAC ban, you're not joining the org. Yeah, exactly. That'd be pretty cool. Yeah, that needs to be an actual repercussion for Jupeng to find an exploit to raise the issue council. There is evidence it's easy to understand whether someone's done that. Yeah. You can track it back to an issue council post. But yeah, exactly. We... That's it. Yeah. I think that's it. we've bled that one. If you submit materials to Wickalow and he deletes them, CIG should be banned. Agree? Agree. Because Wickalow... No one likes Wickalow. Yeah, hi guys. We couldn't update our game this week because we've been banned. Yeah. And because of CJ, it's a permanent ban. There's so much wiccolo hating I really like it. think I think there'd be they should release wiccolo on the run should be an event. Wiccolo has escaped his Emporium and he's on the run from all the angry players. First person to kill him gets a Polaris. You know what I what I love? ⁓ Two years ago everyone hated on people that like sided with Xenothreat. Everyone was like yeah we're gonna smash the Xenothreat scum and now I've seen on social media everyone's like can I join? Can I be part of Xenothreat now? The people that were taking it like that, they were so serious when they was like, bro, it's a video game, chill out. I know what's going on in real life, especially what was happening in America at the time. It's chill out. It's just a game. It's just a bit of fun. Could I? I'm on the Xenothreat side. How would you feel? How would you feel if, and I hope someone from CIG is watching to put this in place, how would you feel about some seasonal events that were a little bit less serious? So how would you feel about if they were to add Santa in the game on the run? It can be in a sleigh or it can be in whatever ship, right? If it's a bit of fun. And if a player kills him, they just get something attributed to their hangar. Like he's hidden on a planet and you can just randomly hear sleigh bells or something, go past. And you just have to kill that NPC and you just get some rewards to your hangar if you kill him. like a sleigh added to their hangar. Slay decoration. I just think little, little quirky things like that. We just had a bit of fun to the game. Yeah, but they won't let you get something rewarded to your account because marketing would go, ⁓ no, want to sell a sleigh. ⁓ So, yeah, it might have to just be like one random reindeer or something. A bit like the platinum ticket event, maybe. Yeah. But then, but only. This is with the glasses of milk. It's an in-joke. Okay. I still find it funny. Yeah. Oh yeah. That would be quite cool. like they could do that seasonal as well. You've got that'll obviously be Luginalia and then you've got, I can't remember what the Halloween one's called. And then, do know, during the, what's the Chinese New Year festival? Red envelope one? Yeah, the red envelope. festival. Red festival. And then like foundation festival, you get some in a tribute to your hangar if you bully a new person on the tutorial. Alien Week. Alien Week, yeah, if you can kill Wickalow, Wickalow goes on the run. Yeah, there's so many like little events they could just do for a bit of fun that can just take a bit of the seriousness out of the fact that it's in alpha right now. Like we all get that it's a serious game and there's a universe, but at the same time, you're testing. It just add a little bit of fun here and there, take the edge off a little event. Like it's no big deal. But then it is, people would argue it's wasted dev time, which I get. So I dunno. I think it'd be really fun. I mean, it's, would it be a waste of dev time? Like how hard would it be? Well, they kind of, so they did it with the pirate, with the pirate event where you had to go around and find codes. Me and car or car and I should say proper English. We flew around and we followed. didn't look online. We didn't cheat and like look at other people that had done it. We read the things, we figured it out. We went down to a place. We found a code on the wall. We typed it in. We got the next thing. Like we actually did the Easter egg hunt that they gave her that pirate week thing. That was great. Like little things like that are really fun. I would love to just see more of that. Just take the edge off a little bit of what's going on with all the server maintenance and everything else being break. I don't know. That's just me. Yeah, no. Sure. I mean, we can say this to CIG and say, oh yeah, this is a really good idea, but they'll implement it and it'll be broken. So yeah. Shall we do a concierge challenge? Shall we? Have you got it, Wondart? I have. I'm so glad Saz's message got captured by a water mod. Which one's it on? It's on the Riverside chat. it playing through? Exploits that get out of hand get fixed faster than complaints on Spectrum. I don't know. There's been exploits that have been in the game since before Formino and they're still in the game and there's Spectrum posts that go back to them ⁓ all that time ago. So yeah, I don't know about that one. Cool. Yeah, happy? We're welcome. Start this off. Yeah, I'm going to try and this song, but they've changed all of the layout. So let me know if you can hear this. It's the... Katsuya Challenge! So that works. But before we get into the concierge challenge, we've had a couple of questions recently. What is the concierge challenge? So to those people, welcome. The concierge challenge is a chance for you to have a thousand virtual dollars to spend on a fleet of your choosing. You are graded by us and the wider community that are currently in chat on how good that fleet is. How much money do you have left over? choices of ship, availability of what you want to do in the game, such as... ⁓ Let's just try and explain that a bit better. So how many of the ⁓ game loops can you cover with your fleet, et cetera, et cetera? Obviously the least, the less means you're going to accrue more negative points. We don't really have like a marking matrix. It's very much like a licking finger to the wind, but based upon our own experience as well. It's run off of our website. So www.quantumdispatch.co.uk. You need to sign in here at the top right with your Discord. I think mine is not currently logged in. We're going to see is it working. It's going to take me to Discord. Why is this choosing now to not work? There we go, we saw the fleet. done. You come back to the website, concierge challenge. It'll give you the rules, basically what we just explained. So you can only get ships that are available within the calendar year, no special things, so you can't have like a saber even whatnot. The ship's price is taken upon the point of entry as on the website. You will get given your thousand dollars and as you start selecting ships like an Inferno, it will take 250 off and present 750. So it would give you a complete rundown. You hit submit and it sends it to us in an email. ⁓ Still Wicked Beast currently top with 7.98. I think that's cool. Yeah, I do feel like I missed one uploading it to the leaderboard. But I will go through and I'll check. Could you click on the build fleet thing, Pete, so we can show any new users how it looks very briefly before we crack on? You need to log into his Discord. ⁓ okay. It's not working for me right now. ⁓ your Discord. I'll try doing it mine. Yeah, if you can do that and then... We'll show it at end. shall I bring up this fleet? Yes. OK, so tonight we have Knight of Fire's fleet. Six ships. Let's go. Golem Ox, Ares Inferno, Cartwell, Clipper, the Vulture and the Prospector. Is there a description? Let me just go up on the whole another screen. I'm trying to find... Do your best swanky impression. A bit of voice acting. Okay. This is going to be fantastic. The fleet description. A mix of combat in... A of combat, industrial and exploration mixed into a fleet. That's terrible. So very short description, a mix of combat, industrial and exploration mixed into a small fleet. Is that it? That's it. So straight away we're negative points for not really conveying what they wanted to achieve. No, that's fine. Because it's like, it's cool. It's big, but it's a small fleet. Okay. So we've got, we've got to work with what we've got to work with. That's fine. Well, I'm going to just go out on a whim here and say, where did the cartoial come from? Like, this is the first time we've seen a Katoa on the concierge challenge. I mean, surely there was better choices. ⁓ I've asked him for him to be in chat. So please sound off whichever one you're in, whether it's YouTube or if you're into it. That's the thing with the Katoa. So it's $175. feel like the cartoal is only there because it was like a way to use up the rest of the funds. Yeah, but... You got way up at that point. It's like, are you going to accrue more negative points by not using up funds or are you going to accrue even more negative points by putting the cartoal in there? is a notably weak line for it. going to give him negative points because of the cartoal and I'm going to give him negative points. Because he's used the cartoony to use up the remainder of the balance. So it's got double negative anyway. ⁓ Because it's and is it The carto is very cool and it also sounds amazing Yeah, but for the same price you've got Hornet smock twos. Yeah, I'm not saying it's a smart choice. I'm just saying it sounds good. Yeah Okay, so if you're gonna rule a call then I suppose it there is a place for it. Yeah I'm just gonna go out there and say it's got three Drake ships. So I knew you'd like that. I'm just going to move these over here. So for a small fleet of six, having three Drake ships on there is pretty cool. ⁓ Gollumox is good. What's it take? 64 SU? to our Clipper, he's got the craft in, no science, medical, oh no Clipper's got med bed. I mean, Swanky's not wrong. It does cover most game loops that are, ⁓ that work. Why the Inferno and the Cartowal though? One's for, well, the Cartowal has only got two size fours, whereas the Inferno has a size seven or whatever. So it's, that's the capital ship. Big, big boy ship. think what CJ is saying is you're covering combat twice. ⁓ I see what mean. Different types of combat though, arguably. The Clipper is a boss ship for ticking off a number of- things with exploration, crafting, medical. Yeah, I think you are nerfing yourself if you don't have a clipper in your fleet. I've been discovered at mine. These margaritas are really affecting you. Yeah. I think you need to go to bed. Don't mix your drugs. Christmas. Prospector. Okay. Fair. It's either going to be the prospector or the golem. I suppose prospector is better. It is. As much as I'd like to say the golem is better. Cartouille, I think. It's a weird one for me. ⁓ Again, we now do have to consider refueling gameplay within this fleet. You could have just gone for one combat based ⁓ ship, obviously the Golem, and then got in like the Starlight now. I know this was a pre fleet. ⁓ Yeah, I don't know. I'm really stuck with this one because I think this is going to be our lowest score so far. is a fleet from the 15th of December. Yeah. Oh God. I've got to be that far behind. We are far behind on these. That's so many. Okay. We need to start doing lots. Yeah. Maybe some videos as well. Yeah. Yeah. It's a weird choice. So they're left with $5, right? At the end of all of this, they're left with $5. So that's already like point five of a point off for me because they didn't hit the thousand point the thousand dollars exactly which is something that we like to see aesthetically like use every ounce of value you have every dollar that's the hardest part isn't it it's difficult but that's that's the you have your fleet but you're that's the game submit this now or do I wait for a ship to go up by five dollars ⁓ that's what makes it interesting right that is the game So we have to take points off and not hitting the thousand dollars because otherwise it's we're not gaming the game. So from off the bat off the rip, that's a downside to me. I completely agree with the car to our I love that ship is so cool. It is so useless to size fours are doing absolutely granny Adams to anything these days unless they're dead bolts and even then probably not doing too much. ⁓ Weak ship, weak ship looks cool, but rule of call has no place in an efficient fleet. so the car to our again is, is that's, that's another whole point off the rest of it. I don't mind. It's got mining. It's got salvage. It's got Clipper, which can do a bit of everything. I love the inferno, especially in 4.8 Gollum Oxy's elite. Okay. Decent fleet. can do a lot of stuff for the money and do them well. They're not, they're not entry ships. They're decent ships. The car to our lets them down a lot. And my question would be. What do you do from a multi crew perspective? They're all single seers. If you want, if you, if you did need to transport friends or take friend or you're doing something with buddies, I don't think there's a single ship there that has a turret on it or any, any form of multi crew. And I think that's something to consider. So it was not necessarily considered on other fleets though. True. This is coming from an individual standpoint. True, true, true. And it's the gameplay loops. The car to ours just thrown me. Yeah, it's a really weird one. As as I saw it and I was like, what's this guy on? He's on something. And if not, if you're you are in chat, totally mean it. Why is there a card? Well, I get rule of call. But I don't know. It's outclassed by a lot of ships cheaper than it. Well, for reference. If you got rid of the car to our you had you it would have had $180 to play with and for that could have got multiple ships I Don't think there's a hundred eighty dollar ship in the game actually, so I don't think there's a one-off one purchase does all Sabres close to know about 170. I think they're all 170 175 I don't think there's a 180 anywhere which is the exact point of the $1,000 challenge because I we always like to try and offer what we would have done different and a Sabres 175 Yeah. Could have got a Harley, could have got a decent cargo runner. There's no decent cargo runner in that fleet at all. Could have got a Harley for 90 quid. It's not big SU though. It's fine. For me, we need to work this bit out. Is he putting the cartwheel and then there isn't funner thinking there's light combat and it's heavy like capital base combat. Because to us, traditionally, it's just been combat. So I would be melting both of those and going for something like Gladius and then using... what is that? Yeah, because where do you stop? You've got light mining, heavy mining, light refuelling, heavy refuelling. We need to be fair, just one across that thing is fine. yeah, Inferno is what, 250, Cartwell 180ish. So three, that four, 30. And then you're spending 110. that was yeah if you took out the car to around the inferno you'd have 430 to play with yeah so you could get a gladius you said you wanted to get that's 90 dollars so gladius 90 dollars you have 340 dollars to play with with that budget starfarer gemini why the gemini because it's the military version so combat nift And it does do and it's exactly 340. Yeah. It's bang on the money. Of course it was. My autism is only useful for one thing. There's no shit prices. ⁓ Yeah, so for me, this is the worst ⁓ priced, the worst scored ship so far. One that's got a point. Yeah, you could melt the Cartuado Ox and the Inferno and go for something like a Constellation Andromeda. And that way you're cargo, you're covering combat, you're covering multi-crew. And you're still going to have money to play with. Which you can get like a starlight. Obviously, Starlark was now in this. Yeah, but yeah, that's fine. The point is money can record. just the wrong one. Yeah, for sure. It could be can be spent better. Golem. So I'm going from a single person standpoint. Golem Ox is probably the best cargo ship for its price. maybe stretch into a Halle, but I'd say a Gollum Ox. If you had a hull B from before the price increase, obviously it was a concept so it didn't really count, but if you had a ship like the Raft at 110 before it got price increased, then obviously because of that point in time we would count that as what it was. But the Gollum Ox or the Halle are push for cargo, Prospector or a Gollum, Prospector's good. Vulture, staple of anyone's fleet. There is nothing else. ⁓ I don't even think salvation is a consideration. ⁓ It is for a tick in the box. If you want us to give you a decent score because we like it, Vulture. It's got to a Vulture. And it's Drake. Plus one rep. Clipper. I think at this point in time is a staple for anyone's fleet because it's med, crafting, ⁓ exploration. And it is a good little run around like it is a commuting ship like you could use it to to dip down to the station ⁓ Reliance and if you want the science covered some form of racing ship ⁓ Yeah, I don't know car to owl and the arrows in front I really not fitting into this fleet for me. Hmm Could put the Drake pitbull in there for combat Obviously this is pre Pitbull, but pre Mr. Worldwide. And then we could have had the Fury. Never brought it out before because it doesn't have a quantum drive. it's no. Yeah. But then yeah, because then if it doesn't have a quantum drive, then you also need to consider ships to carry it in. Because what's point of having a ground vehicle or a ship without a quantum drive if you can't move that vehicle around within your concert challenge fleet. I don't like it. I like it. Considering I own most of the ships on this fleet as well, I think it's a terrible composition for the one game. ⁓ Okay, and on that note then What are you thinking? 10 high This is this will be your scores. Obviously we could carry on chatting about this while you put your stuff into 10 high zero low ⁓ Go at it. Yeah in the in the chat out of 10 and you can have points it can be 2.5 It can be 7.3. Whatever you think out of 10 What would you rate this based on the parameters that we've gave you? Well, I leaned closer to the 2.5 than I do the 7.5. Yeah, I think I mean, I've got my But I won't sway chat. I'll let chat throw some numbers in there first. There's some positives for this. You don't have to scroll at the ASAP. Three tricks. You don't have to scroll. Yeah, it must take you about three business days to get to the bottom, I've melted a lot in my fleet. And it still takes you through a business. I have reduced my fleet by about, I'd say about 55%. Wow. And you bought a second house. So can buy the Odin. I got in on the second wave, you know. It was in my basket on the first, I got in on the second. There's some drama there, you know. Are you aware that the Odin is very much like the glaive and you can only have it the once? And the Odin is different in the way that you can't get your friend to send you a glaive thing. So a CCU. So yeah. You know the the whole sorry the whole two glasses of milk thing. Yeah. Does it just send me I don't know if I can get it up. That's what she said. Too bright. It's Chris Roberts with two glasses of milk. Yeah it's CR with two glasses of It might be if we knew the inside joke. That hasn't made it any clearer. Yeah there is no making it clearer. Literally two glasses of milk. Okay, chats giving high numbers than expected, including swanky. 7.5. Are ⁓ they in voice chat together? they're not. Okay. I was just wondering why the scoring is as high as it is. Either people are trolling or they genuinely like it. I mean, that's the point of this. We're a democracy here. Yeah. And you're all wrong. put me down for a 4.5. Wow. Wow. There was no description. Didn't hit the 1k cap. Yes, it had a Drake ship. Right, back to these stretch goals. There was a description here. Like it wasn't much of one, but there was one. So you can't say it was none. No, but it wasn't very good what there was. If in the description it said Cartouille because rule of call. I can understand why there's a Cartouille, but I don't know why there's a Cartouille on the fleet. He's misclicked. He has misclicked a Cartouille. He tried to choose a Sabre Comet and press the wrong button. I'm going to go and sit in a voice chat him and he's going to swear in at me. But no, 4.5, double tap's combat. Yeah, he's only real saving grace. The reason it was in a four or lower, I think, was because of the three Drake ships. ⁓ Very good, basically best in slot ships for this fleet composition as well. But Mrs. Racing, Mrs. Science, Refueling. I refueling wasn't a factor now, but it is now. I can't really count refueling. What is the reclaim timer? Mm, bye bye. I actually do not know. Are there any more ratings in the chat out of 10? How many have you got so far? A fair few. I'll let you know in a second. I have 1, 2, 3... ⁓ god. four, five, six, seven, eight currently. Sure, really agree with what Gridder must have said. It's 6.5, covers lots of loops, but I feel there's some wasted moolah on that fleet with overlap. Plotwell is nice to see though. It is different. is good to see something different. So Chat has it at a rating of 7.1, by the way. Currently. 7.1? An average. I mean, there was a 10 out of 10 there that made the average average go skewed. This is where we go back to the previous point. You guys are the problem. Christ alive. Seven point one. No, it's probably like in the chat. ⁓ God. I'm just never going to speak to me again. There were a of six point fives. The ten definitely skewed it upwards, but there was the other ratings weren't low enough to drop the average from the ten. The lowest I saw was Eason with a three, which was harsh. But there we go. My man. There was seven. There's six point fives. There was a four point five as well. But if there's anyone else that wants to vote before we ⁓ three is pretty harsh like yeah there's overlap, yeah there's wasted moolah you might not like the car swell, that's fine but it does cover a lot of loops it just it does feel like you could have condensed all three into one constellation and have money left over. There's no ROC, no rock miner CJ's happy because there's vultures I'm not happy because there's no like real taxi on there there's no like adventure titan something which is like super rapid not what though still things freeze a little bit harsh 3.5 then think red bass bastard is missing the point he says make a 10k challenge instead so i could just paste my feet brother no this is not an intervention this is a game It's 1k because it makes it purposely difficult for you to choose and to really choose what you want because we could all go, ⁓ I want five grand and I can cover every single loop and have the rule of call and everything. But you can't have full circle in this game, brother. Getting a 10, you might be able to attain the 10 from one of us, but it's never going to be a 10, 10, 10 across the board. Feasibly, it's like not attainable. theoretically could be attainable, but that's the fun in it, right? So you're held to your thousand dollars. If you leave anything left over, points against you. So it has to fall perfectly. And we haven't had that yet. We've had some pretty high scores before, but... Well, mine's a 10 and we still need to do our fleets and review them. Well, we've already submitted them, but we've not reviewed them. Yeah. We were going to do it as standalone video content, but maybe we can pull one out. I almost pulled yours out. So I'm going to give this a 5.5. The deductions are coming from the price not being hit, the car to our just being a wonky choice, the inferno not really making much sense. And the fact that if you got rid of both of those in the Golem, you could have a much better loadout for combat ⁓ cargo and potentially even lean into another whole, another entire gameplay loop. possibly even two extra gameplay loops with that budget you'd have left, it's quite a drastic drop for me. There's no ground vehicles, there's no rock, there's no science, there's no quantum interdiction, there's no scanning, there's no, you know, and so on and so on. So for me personally, I would say it's a 5.5. Fair. Whilst I'm still deliberating on my score, just a reminder, it's quantumdispatch.co.uk, the website to visit. You'll have to sign in with your Discord top right. Sometimes it takes two times to go through. Then it's on to the concierge challenge, which is the big highlighted button on the dashboard. And then, yeah, the rules are there. The submission form should be there for you. It's pretty simple to follow along once you get to that point. So have fun building your fleet. I'm going with a six. Well, okay. Okay, I'm about it. I'm positive about it. But yeah, there was overlap. There's lost points there. I wouldn't have chosen the cards well. Missing out on something simple like bounty hunting. Yeah. Fair enough. So what's the down for a 5.5 and you for a six? Did you say? Yeah. And then chat. We've now had another score, which is re drop the average a bit lower. We're now a 6.5. Still quite high. Still quite high. Higher than I thought it was gonna be. And then 6.5 for Chad. Right, any more for any more with Chad. We'll give him 30 seconds, boy, and then we'll clock up those. And then we'll get the final score. So right now, just off of ours, is that? about five points. I think everyone said said in chat. No, I don't think they did. I'm going to prepare the final score as well. Sazy 1.9. Sazy voted already? Yep. Is that the school you're taking I've taken 1.9. No That's what dropped the average from 7 to 6.5. Say's he hadn't voted before that Say's if if that is your real vote is that's no YouTube is quite delayed compared to which isn't No, it should be fine. I'm in 1080p should be fine. Okay I mean, it is a slightly more delayed, but. What about Uncle Malchus? He's put his vote in yet. How recent was the vote? What about Apples? I'm not seeing any score from him. Apples, you're going to need to drop it. He's giving it a six. Let me go through and collect all these again. Right, any last chances chat for votes out of 10 and then we're going to get through the average and then we'll work out the final score. So we have scores on the doors. We've got Eason with a three. We've got Ambassador Kobe with a seven out of ten. We've got Swanky with six point five. Obviously fellow co-host couldn't be here this evening, but. And he went for a six point five. Went for a six point five. We've got Gridamus also with a six point five. We have Fledger with a six. We have the Porkish Priest with a 10. I'm pretty sure Poker's praises is not. Can we get confirmation that we're not accepting the 10? We're accepting the 10. It has to be night for it to be a 10. Could be night best friend. OK, so the concierge challenge is a thousand dollars of virtual money where you have to create the best Star Citizen fleet with that money. You want to try and hit variety in how many game loops you're going to cover. and also you want to try and spend as much of that thousand as you can. If there's even so much as five dollars as there is in Knight's case here, people are going to mark you down and there's a lot of debate. So for instance, we're looking at the Cartwell and the Ares Inferno here. There's overlap with it being combat. You don't need two of the same thing. Neither offer anything different. So why are they both there? Negative points. The Golem Ox, it could have been melted with that in my opinion to become something like a constellation and Geomeda. which ticks more boxes than just those three in just one ship. And then you've also got the additional budget for you to go on and buy other stuff. Clipper is really good because it covers a load of game loops whilst being relatively cheap. And so then this is all submitted through the Quantum Dispatch website. Sign up your Discord, then hit the Concierge Challenge list, make your list, hit submit. It sends it over to us along with your description of what you want to achieve into our email. We then bring it up on the stream as you're seeing here. And ⁓ yeah, then we get to vote on it and you get to vote on it as well, brother. So if you need to take a minute, view over, but we are clating scores. So be quick with your vote. Exactly. Throw a five dollar pain there to make it better. No ⁓ ships that are not allowed are concept unreleased. Yeah, concept unreleased and rare. like Sabre Raven ships, you can only use ships that you can expect. purchase within the year, ⁓ like routinely. So come September, Auroras are gone. Obviously Mark 1 Hornets aren't there because you can no longer purchase them and stuff like that. yeah. Does that mean if you get in quickly with the Aurora Special Edition one? Yes. Technically, yes, even though you cannot purchase it right now, but you could routinely purchase it. for Sunset Period. you could be like Clipper and SC and be like... To be fair you could because SC does everything like it does the cargo, the fight and albeit not well. All right, I think that is all the scores. Let's give Malachi his first time here. Let's give him just a minute to look over the seaweeds. How long have you been playing Star Citizen for a second? As well. Let's gauge some interest and some experience from good that it's got the vulture and not the... Yeah, if the fortune was in there, this would be good zero straight up. It would be like, why are we even doing this? If there was a fortune instead of a vulture, you don't even want to know what the score would be because you lost the Drake ship and you've then changed from a best in slot ship as well. I don't know. I don't know. But I'm biased. The vulture is one of the... It's probably the best, the best in slot in regards to what that ship offers. ⁓ I don't, I love the reclaimer, but you can't afford one in this challenge really. So the vulture is just, it's just perfect. I mean, you could, it'd be like where you use the rest of that. Like it's going to have so many holes in your game loops. It's yeah, you might as well get a Polaris and a pulse at that point. Malachi, if you save the website stuff afterwards, right now we just need your score on what you would rate Night of Fire's fleet on screen out of 10. 10 being high. Bearing in mind the goal is the most rounded fleet that covers as many gameplay loops as possible and has good ships to do it with. Hence why we're talking about the Fortune would score lower than the Vulture, even though they both cover... ⁓ Well, Fortune's got more cargo space. And you don't have to get the chair, but we hate it because it's only got one arm and it's slower. It's slow. It's like the time that you could fill your salvage. cargo space up, you would have done it twice in a vulture. Yeah, the vulture is just better. And I love misc. Misc is my, my, misc is my manufacturer. They're, the ones I go for, for like everything. I love them. But yeah, I can't, I can't look over how bad the fortune is in comparison to the vulture. So I'm just conscious. Obviously anyone that doesn't know by the way, we have all of our episodes on Spotify. So if you're just tuning in now or you're hearing this indeed on YouTube or et cetera, everything goes out within a couple of days on Spotify. So you can listen to these podcasts on your drive to work, on your commute, on the train, when you're trying to fall asleep at night, whatever you want. That is what Spotify is for. So please go and support us on there. Leave us a review because it really helps. Us we want to try and build the Spotify audience is also there's also video episodes on there as well So you can watch what you're seeing now over on Spotify also goes on the YouTube channel and on the twitch channel, of course, Just thank you very much for being here. We've got some really fun stuff planned this week this week this year. We've got some Yeah, some really cool stuff planned for the QD. So make sure you subscribe and you're following us in all platforms and stay tuned on Twitter or X To make sure you're in the loop, but have we got a score? the chat we have an 8.1 okay is starlight in the mix on the website cj not yet okay but that will yeah yeah i can do it live i'm literally adding ships now i'm going through the backlog i can work through the backlog faster than cj can so all right thank you for eight months of ⁓ support i'm sure that swanky is somewhere out there doing the dance for you working to his webcam. There go look, Jen you spent the evening dancing so I'll put some extra practice in for you. There we go. Not over it is it? My guy, my guy. Alright here we go I'm getting the score so we have a three, a seven. Six five. Six. Six. Six point five. There's a lot of sixes and six points fives. Five point five. Seven point five. For anyone that doesn't know, GFA is our statistician. Is that a word? Yes it is. I love it. Okay. And that was 12 votes. We have an average score because I had to take out the 10. So I didn't realize that was night. An average score from chat of 5.75, which I love because it really does meet sort of where we're at. So I think that means that we've, we've got a good take. We've got a good take. So what is your score? Pete, you got six. I'm six. So four point five from CJ five point five for me six from one doc and five point seven five from chat gives us an average score of five point four four. I think we're just doing it to point ones aren't we we're not doing the extra the extra stuff. Let's do that again put the chat to five point eight because I think we decided to just do one decimal place. Sorry. Yeah, I think we did decide that last time. It's only fair. So would that be a 5.5? 5.5. Because it goes up to 5.45, yeah. Perfect. That's not bad. That's bad. A round of applause. Thank you very much, for taking place and for sending your fleet in. For anyone that wants to learn from the mistakes of Knight, make sure you hit the 1k and make sure you write a full description of why you've picked each ship. They're the main two things. Off the rip lost points on... But 5.5 is CJ. Do you know if that's the lowest score we've had? I'm so sorry. I don't mean to bring that up to rub it in. Yes. Oh, no. Even in season one, well, the pilot season, actually, if you go up on that. And then there's a tag for the pilot. Show more. 5.9 was the previous lowest. Yeah. ⁓ well, I voted you six, brother, so. Yeah, remember, remember the highest score of the night. Yeah. Just remember. I was going to say, just remember who voted you what? And then I'm looking at the screen now and I'm like, maybe don't remember who voted. You wake up a horse head in your bed tomorrow. Yeah. Okay, cool. Let me take the offscreen. The website will be up to date by end of tonight. So if you want to get your Concierge challenge in, then you can pick all the new ships since Fleet Week or Defence Con. And then yeah. And I shall edit this out and put it onto YouTube tomorrow. All right, Chaps, I think that brings us to it. I'm really glad we didn't have a concierge challenge, by the way. We finally got one done. We've got so many to work through. So I think we will do some offline at some point for videos for YouTube only. So YouTube exclusives. So if you have sent them in, there may be a chance we do that. Unfortunately, we do lose the chat participation or we do like a full podcast hour of concierge challenges and set ourselves a 10 minute limit per one and get through like six. Well, I mean, we've basically almost giving up. We gave ourselves like 30 minutes. Well, yeah. Yeah, that was a long concierge challenge. car two hour man, you really did us in. No one expected it. Put us onto the back foot straight away. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's definitely something we need to look at doing but we do like the chat participation so it may just be that we get a load of people in and we just pump them through. I think the next episode of all four of us on, if there's nothing crazy happening in Star Citizen News, we do a concierge challenge special and we just rinse through as many as we can in like an hour and a half or something. Yeah, works for me. And then we can just cut them all out into individual episodes. But anyway, that's for a chat off of the old. off of the air. ⁓ Well, thank you, everyone.
