QD Ep 23 Mid October: Hello everyone and welcome back to the Quantum Dispatch Podcast. We are back and it is a good time to be back but with a new direction. But before we get into that, before we tell you about what the plans are for the Quantum Dispatch going forward, we haven't got CJ with us. He is not here right now, but he will, he's still here. The new direction is not we haven't booted out CJ. CJ is still here. The new direction is we have screwed him up. CJ is gone. CJ will be back. But before we get started, One Dark Enigma, Swanky Fisherman, my gentle hens, how are we? How have you been? Come on, One Dark, you go first. I've been good. I've been good. I've been getting some much needed rest, recuperation. The kids have been driving me wild. I'm now doing football. football, football, football, five times a week with them is crazy. I've been trying to fit in some gaming. War Dogs has had me a little bit here and there. But then I've been going back and revisiting some old classics, which are three remastered came out. That was incredible. I forget how hard that game can be at times, especially if you try and go a bit too far ahead. And now I'm like stuck. I'll give it five minutes and then I'll go back to it. But Also, Star Wars Galactic Racer, that has come out. That has had me as well. So it's been good. It's been good. And there's some other stuff that's been coming and going, but it's been good. And yeah, I'll pass it to Swanky. Nice. I was about to say with Star Wars Galactic Racer, just... It's been the, for many people, the highlight of the entire game is that one character. But yeah, for me, I have been doing very, well. I have also been lost to the Witcher 3. If some of you have seen me on my streams, I've been playing it recently. Loved that game so much. And like one duck was saying, I'm very much the other way around and I try to avoid the main quest as much as possible for as long as possible. So I try and clear all the side quests in the area. It's been fantastic. I've been away. We went to Pembroke show with my wife and little four year old daughter, four year old, four month old daughter. Goodness me, she doesn't progress that fast. how long has this break been? I was in Pembrokeshire for three years. So much happened. Yeah, four month old daughter who is progressing so fast is babbling and chatting away, but I've also been doing the RSI event for RSI months and checking out the Mark 5, which I have quite enjoyed. But yes, I'm good. And also I've been singing, dancing and all the other stuff I do with my extracurricular activities. GFA, how about you? I have been very, very good. I have been playing a lot of war dogs. Same. Maybe too much war dogs, I would say. And I did have a two month break from Star Citizen, but I'm back into Star Citizen and loving it. And there's a good reason. I'm back into Star Citizen and loving it. And it's something we will cover in today's episode. that is I went to Manchester. I was invited to play Squadron 42 at the the event that they hosted last weekend. I will talk about that and answer any questions that you guys have. And yeah, it was incredible. But we will get into that in in just a bit. Other than that, I'm all good. I'm all good chaps. Good man. Glad to hear it. Mental health check done. Yes. Yeah, that is our mentally vulnerable minute of catching up with how we are basically. And just so you all know, we're okay. Everything's okay. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. So shall we get into the direction that we are taking the podcast going forward? Absolutely. Question Yeah, I believe so. just two. Okay, so as you know, this has been a Star Citizen based podcast and channel and everything around the content dispatch has been focused all around Star Citizen for the past two years. We have decided... that the time has come that maybe we should broaden our horizons, maybe we should cover gaming in a more broad stroke of of of contents. So the plan is that going forward, this will become more of a gaming podcast. We will do gaming news. We will do gaming clips that people want to start sending in any game, the clips of what they've had funny moments, interesting things like that. We will set up a way that people can send those clips in. We're looking at upcoming games. We're looking at games that we've been playing this week. It may be something weird or fun or indie, or it could be a really big new release game and it could be our review of said thing. So there will be it will be a lot more structured as we go. There will be segments and you will find out or you will definitely find some cool interesting games that you might not have heard of or seen before that are coming out within the month and That is what the podcast will become. We will still cover Star Citizen when interesting things happen and when big things happen. For example, this probably will be quite a Star Citizen heavy podcast today because of the Squadron event last weekend. So today's episode might be a nice, smooth transition. We are going to cover some other games today, but a smooth transition where it's half Star Citizen and half not. But over time, it will become less and less Star Citizen and more just general gaming. And I think it will be fun. We'll still keep our finger on the pulse. And of course, my content is still South Citizen. So we'll still be playing it. We will all be playing it together. It's just the content dispatch won't be so focused on just one game going forward. And that is the general idea. And Chaps weigh in. How are we feeling about this? What do we think? I think this is the opportune time to make this jump because of the wealth we're about to have thrust upon us as a gaming community. Witcher 3 has landed, remastered. That is going to take up so much people's time. GTA 6. We are nearly there. Please don't die before it happens. We're almost there, We are almost there. We have a lot of products that we could have died before they came out that we all seem to be invested in. So it's good that some of them release before we die. And then I feel like all three of us will be lost to the land of Fable once that lands in February. I'm a massive fable nerd, man. love that game. I love that series. The franchise. and One Dark did have the incredible opportunity at Gamescom to be able to sit down and see it be played and speak to the devs and developers as they spoke through this gameplay reveal. And it was, you were excited before, trust me, you're excited now. It looks incredible. Absolutely incredible. I'm so, so excited. But yeah, there's so many other things coming out and different types of games as well. I'm a big RTS man. And in the course of the next, hopefully six to 12 months, you're looking at Dawn of War 4, which is coming out in December, which will be so excited. So excited. I might be to get in on the beta. So I'm excited about that. Secondly is also then Warhammer Total War 40,000, which I am so excited for and also got a chance, me and Wondark got a chance to play it at Gamescom as well, which was so much fun. And if anyone is interested, And our YouTube channel, is clips and videos of us playing the game and our thoughts on it. Yeah, I'm really excited about this flip because, you know, as much as we all love Star Citizen and have done for a long time and always will do, there's so much exciting stuff out there. So much exciting stuff out there. And I think it's a disservice to ourselves to not explore that and to be able to discuss it and then share what we love with the rest of you. Well, straight off the bat, Gridamus has a question for us and he wants to know about our take of Alien Isolation 2 from Gamescom, which we both got to try out. We were hot off the press of Total War, Warhammer, and then we managed to get 20, 25 minutes, wasn't it? 25 minutes in Alien Isolation 2. And it was a set sort of like experience where you go into the world where you're hunting around and there's the crashed ship and you enter the crashed ship and you're of meandering around and then bang, there's an alien. It's like... my. And then sort of like, it's designed to be like a little jump scare. Unfortunately, we wasn't allowed to like film anything of the game, but we do have footage of Jack sat there like... Just for full clarification, I am not a horror game guy. Not at all, right? I still, my friends still take the mick out of me because we went to watch War of the Worlds and a plane came over and I wasn't expecting it and I jumped out of my chair. I was like, had, I was like... I had to leave. was like, they just laughed at me, took the piss out of me. I was like, right, I'm going, I'm going, I'm But I think my take on it, so good to say your take mainly, and if you think it looks like it'll hold up against the original. dude, it was, I don't think you are playing as Amanda Ripley, if I remember rightly. No, I don't think so. In isolation one or two? In isolation two, I don't think. I'm not sure if you are. It wasn't anything, there was nothing. Well, if there was, I missed it. I don't know. If I'm being fully honest, I don't know. Yeah. Was it really made clear? it? Yeah. So what I really enjoyed about it was the fact that I was coming in completely new, didn't play in isolation one. Again, not big with jump scares. So I thought, right, let's go for it. But the one thing, know, us, us, us, us, us, us, my, Gridamus, I'm so sorry. I love you. I will. I will. I'll come back traumatized for the next podcast, having played it and ruined my nervous system. He wants us to play the original for anyone listening. Yeah, damn it. We should do that. We should do that. That would be hilarious. And then stream that. Cause you'd get so many clips of me screaming like a small girl. Ideally, all get in one room and do it. that would be ace. Yeah. I love that. Get a headphone splitter. All sit together in one room. One where we take turns playing it at one death each or something. Proper old school couch gaming style. the thing that they managed to do was just even before an alien appeared, you were already so immersed and the atmosphere they created, it was like the rain was lashing down, the thunder was coming. You couldn't see there was like things dashing behind you were out in the open world, like trudging through the mud, climbing over trees. And you just sat there and your heart was beating and at any moment something was going to happen. and just created such an incredible visually and audibly immersive and atmospheric world. And I was blown away by it so much so that it made when the alien did come out so much worse for me because I was so, I was so immersed and so excited that I let out a little, I, as the woman next to me chuckled, looked at me, shook her head and carried on playing as I lived up my skin. But yeah, it was just, yeah. That's my take on it was it was just incredible and the real sense of fear and because there'd be some of these games where you think, sure, I'll do the right things. I'm not that scared of the alien, but they were talking about the way that they did it was that the alien, it's not just a set of moves, it's clever. It works out the way that you play. It analyzes the way that you move and what you like to do to try and counter it. And it works around that. And it's like, Just knowing that going into it scared me more so because I'm like this thing's going to figure me out straight away because I die in every horror movie. yeah, what was your take on this? was your take They were saying, weren't they? So if you have like your sort of tactics in how you deal with the alien, so you throw a can or you use a flame thrower, eventually you throw the can, it realises that there's nothing there and it starts to look from where it could have been thrown from. Then obviously it locks onto you and it's coming for you. The more you use the flame thrower, the less likely it is to be like afraid of it and it will still come for you. And so you are continually trialing new things and new ways to overcome the alien to escape. yeah, so I found that was really interesting. Really interesting. But yeah, it was, it was just such a cool experience. And then getting to chat to the developers as well, even briefly, was really cool. I need to follow up on them, but I actually did an interview, with Sega. about it and talking about it and they were saying how they were really hoping that those parts that I've just spoke about were actually what they wanted to get across. So it was really satisfying for them. And one of the guys there was like, wait, you enjoyed that bit? thank goodness. That was my bit. And he was like, yes, okay, yes, this is so cool. Which, know, as Star Citizen players, we know that meeting the devs and experiencing their passion really bolsters your love for what it is they're doing. Cause you realize these people really care about creating something that's good. So yeah, that was sick. It was so cool. It was so cool. Even for me, a big scaredy wussy scaredy cat. Really nice to accommodate and really friendly people from Sega. Yeah. Looking forward to working more of them in the future. Yeah. A hundred percent. I didn't go. I've got nothing on the second game yet. I was not there, but I am excited to, to, to play it. Definitely. That would be, I tell you what though, that would be a really cool, get us all together. Just to watch it would be sick. know, Gridimus does go on to our next point. Something you were there for that we weren't there for. Tell us about it, George. Tell us about Yeah. Tell us about the weather, George. So, I've done a lot of talking about this. So I guess my question would be... What is it you boys would like to know specifically? And I will answer the questions as we go or do you me just to like to rinse off the entire weekend? I feel like you can go one of two ways. So it's up to you boys. If you want to keep it concise, ask me questions chat included. Okay. So obviously I popped up to come and see you come see international friends who were visiting to play the game. And one thing that really struck me really well was how everyone was like, my God. I need to like time to digest it. I'm sat in the bar with these guys and I was like looking around like, I don't really know how to put it to words, but the way you surmised it in the end very briefly was in very much the same way that Star Citizen has ruined gaming for almost everyone that touches it, everyone that pays any sort of attention to it. It is destroyed gaming as it was for those players. And you said that Squadron 42 had done that to you. in regards to Star Citizen. So now, any game is poultry in comparison to Squadron 42. Do you still stand by that after you've relaxed a little bit? Yeah, well, yeah, because Star Citizen blows other games out of the water because of the open world and how much you can do, right? But the thing that lets it down right now is that half the stuff in the game doesn't work because it's still an alpha, incomplete gameplay loops, loads of loads of loads of problems with Star Citizen. As we all know, that's not a secret. So, you know, when 1.0 drops and it's working eventually, then I... would fear to be any other game studio at that time because I feel like Star Citizen will take over and it will probably become less of a niche. But yes, when you then play Squadron, you experience all the things in Star Citizen that are bad right now working how they should work. And then you're like, I wish it worked like this in Star Citizen, because then that would be unstoppable. The difference is, and the caveat is Squadron's a single player game and it's a linear single player game. So I'll probably play through it once. then one more time on New Game Plus, if that exists, which I'm pretty sure it does. I think I've read something about that existing. And then I probably would never play it again, unless there was a reason, because there are collectibles in the game. They could do something like find all of X collectible and unlock a special paint for this ship in Star Citizen. So if they start doing stuff like that, I can see myself playing it through a few times because I want to get the stuff for Star Citizen. But if there's nothing like that, once you've done the story, it's like reading a book. or watching a movie. It's incredible and amazing. But once you know the full story, you're not always going to go back and reread the same book again or rewatch the same movie over and over. You'll get a little bit sick of it and come back to it maybe in a year. going back to your original question, yes, Star Citizen Squadron is incredible. And it does everything that you want Star Citizen to do well. But in such a confined setting, couldn't sit there and be like Squadron is going to be the best game ever because There's so many other games that I would love playing. So it's a hard question to answer. But yes, mean, Squadron was impeccable. was so good, So good. I think thank you for that. First of all, appreciate you giving us that feedback. Thank you, GFA. Thank you. My question... Thanks, man. My question would be, what was... outside of playing the game, the experience of the three days, what was that like for you? how did they pull out all the stops, making sure you guys were looked after and just what, what did they do and how did they go about ensuring that you had such a memorable three days? I've been around content creation for a long time, right? Like I'm not a big creator, but I've been around for such a long time. And I've been in a lot of circles that have got me into places. where I've spent time with game studios or at events and hands down, CIG take care of people better than any other studio that I've ever dealt with. Yeah. They were, were so accommodating. They're so lovely. You, you, it does remind you that the devs are just normal human beings doing their job and they are just as excited seeing some of these things come together as we are. getting to stand and talk to the devs, having a pint on all three days, different devs at different points, people I've never met before, people that have designed certain ships or they've designed parts of Squadron or certain gameplay mechanics and you're just sitting there and you're talking about them and everyone's just as jazz as as as each other. And it's a really nice environment. So as a whole, it was that was really nice. As for the three day specifically, as in what CIG put on. It was incredible, right? We walked into the the gaming area for Squadron. You've probably seen the video, the behind the scenes and the pictures that have come out and there's more to come. But there was loads of PCs. was a big Hornet from CitizenCon two years ago was there and surrounding it was all like big screens, like a 180 circumference of screens. And they had projected like the hangar of an Idris all the way around. And it was all moving because like there was a forklift going, other ships coming and landing. So it felt like you were It felt like you were inside an Idris hangar with the real size Hornet and then all the computers there to then play Squadron. Then obviously Chris came out, Rich Tyler came out, Tyler Wickham was there and Benoit and they all took turns just sort of talking about their involvement obviously like Rich Tyler being the game director and Benoit with the technical side of things and then Tyler came up and just told us like I think it's Rich Huller actually said, look, there's a lot of the controls are different in Squadron than they are in Star Citizen. And because you're all Star Citizen players, you're going to think you know what to do or what to press. But it's probably not going to be that thing and you'll get stuck. So read the tutorials properly is what he was saying, which was really funny. So, yeah, that was that was nice of them to drive that home. And then, yeah, played the game. And then the very here we go. So Pete's bringing up pictures. So yeah, you can see the Hornet. You can see the Idris Hanger behind the Hornet, the computers. There's Benoit, the man. down there on the bottom of that. You can see this. That's a good. You can see the projected Idris Hanger. And then we all stood around that. That looks incredible. Yeah, it was really cool. It was really cool. yeah. Obviously Mark Hamill turned up at one point. I hear that he turned up and he was doing his little spiel, but everyone was coercing themselves back into wanting to play more. Yeah. I mean, it was such a surreal moment because no one wanted to stop playing. We got tapped on the shoulder and they said, in a few minutes, we're going to say stop and come back to the Hornet, but don't worry, you'll get to come back. So you had to stop where you were. We all then was talking on our way to the Hornet, like, what part are you on? have you figured this out yet? Have you figured that out? How did you get that? And then we sort of got to the Hornet. And then we all stood in the line for the picture, the pictures that you've now seen, the big group photo. And then Mark Hamill just, they were like, we've got a special guest. And everyone's like, is it going to be Henry Cavill or Gary Oldman? Because they're both British, so chances are they'll be in the country. No one expected Mark Hamill to come round the corner. Hamill. And yeah, just really cool. We got to take a picture. No one really got to spend any time with him, understandably. Like we all wanted to get back to the game if it was a big like... Hey, have a catch up with Mark Hamill. No one's going back to their computer. So we took the picture, had a few words, and then he went off to do some, some things. They were doing some like re-recording a few lines that they thought would could be clearer or some more pickups, things like that. So they went off to do that. And then everyone was just running back to the computer like, go, go. Cause we only have an hour, but they extended it by like another 25 minutes for us, which was nice. So we got extra time. So I think it was like all you know, it was like five and a half, six hours we were in there for. And then the next group came in. I see in it for those listening and not watching ExoWolf07 says what part of Squadron 42 would you love to see port over to Star Citizen? that's... I'll have a few. I imagine you would. Yeah. Obviously the flight model and the quantum stuff, right? Like that's a no-brainer. We know that's already come in and they've shown that before, but that was really cool to actually have hands-on experience with. felt really good. the quantum boosting, fucking good man. I love the armor cracking. You can see it in the trailer, but with Maelstrom, if you destroy someone's armor entirely, which I'm assuming means we get an armor, what's it called? Durability? Arm-Aware? yeah, durability. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When you're shooting like an enemy, you can hear the crack and their armor will just like completely shatter. So it's like cracking an enemy on Apex or something similar kind of feel. like Tarkov when you like zero someone's chest plate or something like that. So you're shooting a helmet and you'll hear like and you'll see the helmet break off and it's like, that's so fricking satisfying. The sound effect is like getting the Gears of War headshot. It's just so satisfying. And feeling that for the first time, I was like, OK. And then I had this LMG going around the ship and it was really nice. It was unbelievably responsive, Gridimus. It was instant there was not a millisecond of like delay like you were shooting. It was a single-player game, right? There's no server to deal with so if you were shooting them and it'd be like crack and then yeah, the enemy would just go down like a sack of spuds They didn't just play an animation like yeah. Okay. It was was instant just crumple on the spot or fall backwards. There was no like death animation that was Looking ridiculous So it felt so visceral. You were really there in the combat. It was difficult because the enemies pushed, but also they would revive each other. So if you down someone into a down state, which like Star Citizen, like when they're not dead, they can be revived. The AI would go and do that. And that was nuts because they would you would see an AI that you could clear a room. And if you haven't double tapped him, if you left one person alive on the AI, they would go and revive them all. And you turn around to like a Sea of enemies that have come back to life because they've all been revived Do the did the AI do any stupid stuff not in my playthrough that's not to say they couldn't obviously but from my experience the AI felt very switched on and Deadly the FPS was very challenging. I played a wingman, which is like the medium level Yeah, the AI was hard like the FPS was hard. I didn't die I think I went down one time very late on in the missions by a sniper just sort of headshot me. Luckily I had a self revive pen so I got back up. But yeah, the AI were good, very, very strong. The ship combat felt too easy though. I'll say that for the wingman level. It felt like FPS was very difficult and ship combat was a little too easy. I feel like they need to make ship combat a little harder to sort of match the FPS difficulty at wingman. I was going to say, I've read somewhere, I don't know if you experienced this, but apparently you can edit the difficulty individually of FPS combat and space flight combat. can customize it. Cool. I just thought I'd add that bit in to what you're saying that on that difficulty one was more difficult than the other. Yeah. So there were four difficulties and then a custom one. there was rookie wingman, ace, which was the hardest. Then Legatus, I think, was the fourth one, which is like, I think that might be a new game plus. I'm not sure. Cause what's harder, cause Ace is supposed to be really hard. And then does it Atlas Foundation Festival? What? Go and look at that. Okay. And then, yeah, then the custom. So I would like to the ship combat be harder to match the difficulty of the FPS combat. Only a handful of people played Ace because they said it was very, very challenging. And considering we only had five hours to play, I wanted to actually enjoy playing it through. didn't want to go on a super hard difficulty and die loads and then not make it I've only experienced half an hour of the game and then you're like... But equally, I didn't want to play rookie and just walk through with no difficulty at all and not experience what the AI could be like. So I thought Wingman, it even says the way it's meant to be played, right? So I played on that difficulty, but you can customize it entirely, which is good. So my... I'm just having a look there. So Riddick said boo hard or go home. I'm not sure if he meant to go hard or go home, but... think he said boo hard or go home is in. You should have played on hard, but we only had five hours, my man. do want to... okay. get you. Yeah, yeah, I think my question would be as well, am I right in thinking that... I remember we all watched, was it Rich Tyra play through the intro, basically, that like hour long thing that he went through? And there was the EVA section with no... Was that as difficult? I've read some people saying they died a few times on that because it's genuinely you had to get it right or you were dead. The EVA segment, I think they're going to have to work on. wasn't difficult. It was confusing as hell. Right. Okay. The hard bit was to know where to go next. And it was because you're a first person. You can go third person, but your first person... You're in space on debris that's floating and rotating and you're you're latched on with your your gravity. Fingers. And you're going around with the debris, right? Whilst you're trying to look around and see where the next bit to jump. It was very discombobulating. Ships flying around, explosions going off. So there was they didn't hold your hand, which is good. But for that specific bit, it's very dark. It's in space. There's no it wasn't. It was not an easy part to be that early on in the game. Right, okay. Because it's jump, it's push, pull and jump. There's no EVA suit. Yeah, there's no no boosters. No, you're in your under suit. You're not in a suit suit. So you're under where? Yeah, literally. So you're just jumping from debris to debris. And it's so unclear. So many people died. I died one time, which apparently turned out to be very good. Because a lot of people died about 15 times to the point that devs had to come and tap on their shoulders go over there. board game and managed to get himself soft locked by jumping into a hanger that he wasn't supposed to be in. And then he couldn't go anywhere, but he couldn't kill himself. So they had to reload the checkpoint. So they, I think they will probably do, I know they will do some work on that EVA segment because there was a lot of feedback and they even brought it up in the town hall. not to the level that the Wolverine game went to, but I reckon it will be something like they'll put a on a couple of bits of the debris, there'll be a flashing light or something like a bit of a panel that's sparking. So it just catches your attention. Something like that. That would help because it was very difficult to see, but everyone was dying. And for us Star Citizen players, we're used to difficult things. We're to things being fiddly. We figured it out. It's fine, right? Yeah. What you got to worry about is the non-Star Citizen players that they don't fight their way through bugs every day to the first half an hour. And it's two hour steam refund window. You don't want people going, what the hell is this? And then just refunding the game because they can't get past a very tricky EVA part. It was fine if that's three hours in once you've learned the controls, but that was the main- Could be a stumbling block. Yeah. Something else I think, what was your experience of Maelstrom? I mean, obviously you spoke about it from like the armor perspective, which I'm excited for, but a lot of people have commented. Welcome to the Quantum Dispatch, where we comment on games. What was your experience of Maelstrom? Maelstrom was incredible. Shooting a ship and seeing the... My camera's bugging out by the way. Shooting a ship and seeing the individual parts like Shred-Off was so satisfying. It was completely different from Star Citizen. Enemies had health bars. Okay. And I don't think we'll get that in Star Citizen, or I hope we don't, it's a bit weird. You could see like a, you could see their health bar had like armor and health, so you kind of knew how far you were damaging them. I don't think we'll get that, I don't think we should have that in Star Citizen. don't even want that in Star Citizen Squadron. I don't think you need it, really. Did you reckon there would be a setting to turn that off? Probably. probably in the ace difficulty that would be off. And I don't know why they left it in a wingman. Maybe they wanted feedback on it. So they left it in so that we would see it. If you're watching health bars. Yeah. It was nice to have from an arcade standpoint, put it in rookie, but wingman and above have it off, I'd say. You can clearly see when a ship's being destroyed because you can see when the shields stop shielding. You see parts of the ship go b-b-b-b- But then that's us who are Star Citizen players. But if you have just the average Joe, we've all seen when gamers do stupid things like YouTube videos and stuff, right? So there will be an average Joe out there somewhere where like, I don't know when ships explored in because I had to count the health bar on it. I don't know where he's from, but that was just a voice that came to mind. But, you know, so sure, have it there, but there should be an option where you can remove it. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, you're right. And it will be in the custom settings. And I think that will be something I change if they leave it on the wingman. I will change that definitely. It was nice to see, but didn't need it. BSC and all the parts of the ship was unbelievable. Unbelievable. So looking at aspects of the game that are in Squadron 42 that haven't yet come to Star Citizen, FPS scanning. Did you manage to check that out? Yeah, yeah. A lot. It was very good for a single player game. And they had the AI had and I'm assuming we will have signal jammers. So if you set this thing up, you can't scan. It just won't show you what's around. So if you took over a base, you could put a signal jammer down and then and then I'll do the rest like this for 12 bottles of bleach, please. You've got a beard fuzzle and yeah, they'll they'll they'll the signal jammers will stop the scanners from working. Do I think it's a good thing to have in Star Citizen? No, I don't really see the point of it. But on the flip side, does it mean that when you have rats like CJ hiding in contested zones or at the PYAM hangers, that it makes them a bit unstuck? Yeah, sure. If you've gone through the effort to bring a special helmet that can scan and CJ hasn't gone through the effort to put down a signal jammer before he hides in a corner for someone to come round with their five keys to unlock the PYAM hangers. That's on him, not you and vice versa if you didn't bring a scanner helmet. So I don't mind it being in the game, so to speak. Because there was a counter to it. there's a counter to it. Yeah. It's not as and you'll it will be a specific helmet that I'm sure will be light armor that you like in squadron. It's just part of your suit. I'm sure in Star Citizen, it will be like certain helmet types like they've done with the crosshairs and it'll probably be light armor. You get one tapped in the head if you so it's going to be a specific recon class. I imagine is what they would do for Star Citizen. I think they'll balance it well. I don't think it's going to be an issue, but do we need it at all? I would argue not really. I don't see what it adds to Star Citizen as a whole. feels more like a PvE tool. Yeah. it's in single player. It worked nicely. Again, I don't think you need it in single player. I don't know why they added it really, but it's not a problem. it's because future because it's good. It's good when you're scanning for objects or parts of the quest. When you scan it, you can look at any box on the floor and it will say like random box, not openable or like not a quest item. Or like if you find a collectible, will say collectible. So you can scan around. That's where it was good. You can look at the status of objects. Like I scanned. Reveilleo. Reveilleo. Reveilleo. Reveilleo. Reveilleo. Reveilleo. I scanned, I looked at a panel, it said like no power. And then I saw like a power cable leading somewhere, went to this thing, opened these vents to clear all the smoke out of a room. The room then the room cleared of all the smoke. I closed the vents. I vented that into space and then I turned some power on and it allowed me to open doors and stuff. So scanning was really good for that because it allowed you to, it was like a puzzle solving assistant. It feels like, if I branch off from that a little bit, what sounds good is because for example, we do have scanning in game, don't we? We have to scan for mineables. We have to scan for all sorts of different things, et cetera, et cetera. So it does make sense that the scanning is a part of the game in many different facets. And I think, like you said, if, for example, there can be more of that puzzle solving stuff within the PU, imagine finding again, I use this as an example, would be called like an old tomb, you know, because one thing I think that they haven't explored is like ancient civilizations, or like what's from far ago, do any of these planets have anything on that's old, that's old, old, are you going to find like abandoned structures or abandoned tombs and mine shafts that are from the old time? you know, and then will you have to then do problem solving and then the scanning may then be useful for finding an entrance, finding an exit. This goes here, that goes there. That could be something potentially which I'd be excited to see if there's more of that problem solving stuff and puzzle solving stuff. Because I love that. I think almost certainly you will see that. So we got to experience a little bit of puzzle solving in our playthrough. We got to on the second day, we got to see a very special mission that I'm not some people have spoiled. I'm not going to do that. you have, wouldn't know. I wouldn't want you to spoil it. If you haven't had it spoke for you. Good. don't go looking for it. Some idiot that went to the event posted it online somewhere and then a content creator basically spoke about it on a thing. And again, I'm not going to mention who it is, but I think it was I think that was bad for like, don't go and spoil something. So if you want to if you want to know, you can you can Google it. Right. But I don't I'm not going to do it. Experience it yourself. Trust me. You don't want to have it spoke because it was incredible but there was a mission anyway, what I will say is there was a mission with some really cool puzzle solving elements and We got to witness that and it looked Difficult it looked like it's gonna take some learning curves like it will be hard But it also looked like they could very easily put it in the PU no problem at all They could have that in star citizen and I think they will I think there will be, but it will be specific missions. You won't have it on your ship or my ship. But there will be areas in Star Citizen that I'm sure will involve doing those puzzles to unlock a door to then get through here. It was very, it was very Half-Life. was very like Half-Life. I'd love, I'd love imagine like, you know, like the ASD facilities and you've got a section that you need to get to, but the only way you can get to it is if like two of you... raise and hold platforms with your tractor beam so someone can go across and then they have to grab it the other side and you can run across it. You know, those kinds of things. It makes me also think of like destiny. Did they? but we've old man. so you so there's a camel. But imagine imagine a game which had AI that could do that. Like you had to. he moved you across, then you had to move him across. How cool is that? That happened. Like, it's really good. Escort AI through a tunnel system, know, something like this. Like, it always makes me think of, for those of you who play Destiny, like Destiny 1, like doing Vault of Glass, the first raid that ever came out is still like one of my core gaming memories is doing that. And there was jump puzzles and things you had to shoot in an order or solve this, that and the other, et cetera, et cetera. Like Skyrim, when you have to go to some of the dungeons, you've got to figure out what symbol goes what way. Like, just... Just stuff like that, man, I think would be super cool because then all of a sudden it's like, we as an org are going to go and do a dungeon or a raid. But that there's going to be a problem to solve as part of it. And some of you are like the mathematicians and et cetera, et cetera. Like, dude, yeah, it's going to be so cool. So cool. I guess one other aspect of what you've played. So you mentioned whilst I was with you that you get to see what hacking looks like. Now, obviously, we've spoke about hacking many times before on the on the podcast and how we would want to see it. And I even went down the whole route of I wanted to have its own bespoke sort of like language system in the game. So that you have to have some that is a specialist that has devoted that time in and out of game, refining that art and learning the systems to go on and hack. Am I getting what I want? Or is it like a much watered down version of that? Have you watched the Squadron 42 trailer? Yes, I have. Yes, it's in there. It's the like, it's the it's the mini game. I'll bring it up. Hang on. That's not hacking. That's just I got the reroute. But that is that is the hacking gameplay that we experience and that is game hacking. Yeah, that is the game hacking. It's the same as hacking in Bioshock with the pipes with the water puzzle. Yeah, very similar. That is hacking. That's that's what we experienced. I really like to fall out because it's like You could either go the really short and potentially easy version, or you could go the harder version, but get more out of it. But then you could also end up completely deterring people from trying it. If you make it too hard. It's to you. You don't have to do everything. You go, okay, I want to do hacking. Okay, go and learn hacking. Yeah, but I want to just do it. No, no, you're not just going to do it. Okay, they've already given us several med pens. You can have a medical expert who is like, okay, cool, you've got an injury. Yep, you need this pen. Okay, yeah, too much of this in your system. Detox pen. yeah, we know that now because we've played the game for a long time, but still there's people who don't realize what those other pens are for. Like, if you're going to go and hack someone's ship in the PU and potentially ruin someone's gameplay, you need to have put effort into learning that system. This is just, yeah. But it wasn't easy. it took... I didn't find it massively difficult as a, like, huge Bioshock player from back in the day. And even Fallout, right? Like, I've done a lot of different hacking games in my gaming tenure. This was felt like Bioshock. I didn't struggle with this. I did it in about two minutes, which I think is a decent time. Some people were complaining saying it was too difficult and they couldn't get through it. And some people found it as easy as I did. So... I think there was a nice mix of people that found it really hard and people that found it pretty straightforward. Yeah. I get what you're saying, Pete. Like I wanted something that meant that people could be proficient at doing something specific like hacking. There's no reason they can't make proficiencies in this because the way that it's been built, they can have it where your ping is more powerful, your decrypting ability is more powerful. So you can still like level up your hacking to be able to hack harder things, for example. But yeah, I mean, from a skill side of things, if this is the hacking gameplay, we will get things like the Legionnaire or whatever we're sporting, right? But you have to hack open their ramp, presume, because you're not going to just blow a hole inside of their ship like the vandal things. Cleaver. Yeah, I'm assuming you'll lock it up with the Legionnaire. You'll probably lock on to like their airlock and then have to hack it to open it. If this is what it is, yeah, is what it is. I don't mind it. It's difficult enough that maybe there's counter hacking where another triangle you can see here comes on the board and starts pushing you back and stuff. I don't know. I was just about to say the same thing. Like if you can have it that actually you can implement countermeasures that makes it harder to hack. Yeah. You know, then that could be the level of actually are you fighting against each other? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And if that happens, it could be really difficult. But yeah, think that's a yeah, it's it's a shame. And I know what you mean. But let him cook. was it was good for a single player game. I didn't mind it. They make it too over complicated, in my opinion. Nice. I'm excited. I think also anyone in chat who has any questions for the wonderful GFA players who was there at the event, please fire away. But for me, also a particular part of the game that I am massively fond of is What was the the audio like and the soundscape and... The audio was the best, the best game audio I've heard. They were talking about how they've designed it and how I don't think any games done it before. I could be wrong. The music was just incredible. The music's incredible. But the way they've done the audio system in a lot of movies, they would talk about a movie audio mix. When you look at when the camera focuses on something that's happening, usually they make that thing louder, whether it's a coffee machine or kettle or car or whatever they were, they want your eyes to focus, they make that loud, that sound louder as part of the movie magic in editing. So your brain naturally focuses more on that object within the scene of the camera. Even if it's really hectic, whatever is making the loudest sound and it's familiar, like could be a jackhammer. It could be whatever. Your eyes should naturally be drawn to that sound. So in the game with how the focus works, they had to have a dynamic volume system based on where they think you are focusing on at the time or where your character is looking and that will make that sound louder. So if you're in a train and you're looking out of a window and old man's on the other side of the drain talking to you, it might be slightly lower in volume. But as you turn and look at him, it will come up in volume because you're Focusing on him talking you're engaging it, but if you're not really listening you look away It gets a bit quieter again. That was really immersive. It was really really cool But yeah the the the sound of like the ships taking off from the Idris with the With the afterburners and the sort of the mag locks that you saw in the trailer. See if I can find it Yeah, I'm unreal unreal. So yeah to answer your question. The sound was Very, very, because that's one of the things that in every read up, every write up that I've that I've read, they've all gone absolutely mental for the sound. That's crazy, mate. Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. Like, I think it's here. gonna do this. Yeah, it's just yeah, pick up my squats This sound is so good and the opening credits Yeah, there was some someone pico yeah, I pico. Yeah, she cried in the opening credits because the music and the way they've done it Yeah, dude, for me, music is magic, man. If I ever need to experience something, feel an emotion, work my way through something, I listen to music. So I've got feeling this is going to get me when I play it. Yeah, think so. There were moments that got me and I'm not massively an emotional person when it comes to a lot of stuff like this. But yeah, there were moments that I was a bit choked up. was like, we're finally here. Well, yeah, let's just face it. We've waited a long time. And to answer Screamer's question is Q2. 27 realistic. Yeah. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. I have no doubt in my mind this comes out next year and I don't have any doubts in Q2. There's a way that you will know. Okay. When you see them ramp their marketing up, they are exactly 42 days away. Yeah, I read about that. There's going to be an intense 42 day marketing program. And then the game will release, is everyone's going to be crazy at the moment because they've made a new Instagram and a new social media channels for, for squadron. And then they've got billboards of squadron 42 and stuff. people in NYC, isn't it? something like that. In a really big billboard, everyone's like, hang on, this is a very big marketing thing. Are we 42 days away all of a sudden? Is there going to be a surprise drop at Christmas? did see, did you see Mrs. Roberts, reposted it because the advertisement they had in NYC, it stopped. And then as it went, As it went off, the next advertisement for half a second said, dates when or when is it? she went, ha ha ha dates. Am I right? Or something like this? Like, yeah, man. It was really cool. Is there anyone in chat who hasn't seen high size? Who hasn't seen the trailer yet? I think everyone here must've seen the trailer. Surely. Surely they've seen it. Okay. The volume down a little bit. Screamer says no. avoiding it. Scream look away. Scream and look away. No, no, no. It's good. It's good. Look away. People can choose to watch this if they want to. We've also Yes, they can. Yeah. It's only the trailer. But the trailer is... It doesn't say anything away. No, it doesn't. It shows Maelstrom. It shows some really cool... it shows the armor cracking that I spoke about. Like, a lot of what I've discussed is in that trailer. It is very good. boy. I think as well, also... I know you guys are Evo, aren't you? Have you had an opportunity to jump in and have a look at 4.11? Yes. yes. have? I've been talking for ages, but you... I love it. think it's going to be the biggest... I'm so jealous. I'm so jealous. You have no idea. I've been sat here just like flying around microtech being like, this looks shit. Bro. It still needs some work. It still needs some polish. Of course. The terrain as you're entering atmosphere right now does not look realistic. So you can see there's biomes, but there are jagged lines, like straight lines. There's no real blend or blur between the different biomes. It's very much boom, that's that. But then once you come in and you're like, wow, this is like a straight line. Then the trees and the foliage and everything starts to pop up and it obviously looks natural. So they've got the issue with popping. frame rate not great 3090 is achieving was achieving nine frames a second over one of the locations, which obviously is just not thankfully I wasn't flying. I was a passenger going wow. Like what's going on here? Your eyes just glaze over looking at the window like then we're okay, cool. There's the landing zone. It's in the middle of forest and we land there. We get out and there's NPCs walking around just like not just like sitting there just chilling. So actually walking to and fro and doing things. Then we noticed the terminals. You can now get work at these ground locations. You can get like bounty work. We noticed there was like, there's four kiosks arranged two by two facing each other. And one was science, like science and research. Another one was, I think was like an engineering style thing. And then there was like bounty hunting and then there was moving of cargo and stuff. Stuff like that and we were just like, my god, but it's like 10 to 1 in the morning and we both have stuff to do One mission Someone tried to bring in a carrot tried to land it and just blew themselves up, which is Quite funny to see very stuff. Yeah. He had some cool stuff in his backpack as well. So If you're in yeah, thank you for your sacrifice, it's a bow isn't it? Yeah, look forward to like future tests of that because It is starting to come. They're bringing more stuff in, aren't they? They're obviously because it's Evo, they're just adding bits in and seeing how it responds. And yeah, well, the true rumour is that like the devs are able to play start to finish, base building. So I feel like this is the step we need to be before we head into base building. Yeah. So my question would be for you as well. If I'm right in thinking, I've heard people talking about the buildings are different. Like these, aren't the same. outposts we used to seeing copypasta across all the worlds. What's that like? Yeah, I mean, we didn't get to see that many of them. We just literally went to one location, but yeah, it's different to the stuff we used to see. And yeah. But if you take a drive from London through the Midlands, through Yorkshire up to Scotland, you will see different types of what would be traditional buildings. And then we're now moving into sort of like this modern style, but you go to France, you go to Germany. different buildings again. And this is how I believe they're looking to like fill the universe out is like different artistic styles, obviously different assets, they will lend and borrow from assets. But you know, because there's a cost on the game is inherent costs for everything they do. Okay, we make a new asset, more cost more, more CPU clock speed. And it's like, they need to strike a balance. Yeah, yeah. But with the tech, they are definitely striking a balance system good sort of historical areas, think, is it Pokemon was one of them? Like they, they physically couldn't make the game for the Game Boy in the way that they did because they just didn't have enough memory. So they, they did magic with it, basically that put part of it on hold whilst it generated the second part of what they needed. They're going to have to do stuff. They're going to have to work some serious magic out with today's hardware, which. tricks of the trader there and we really see it with the rivets and ships and stuff. They're like one asset that looks 3D but is actually 2D. Stuff like that is class. it's only here for the QD jingle. GFA, what's your take on it? Blauid. Yeah, I like the way they've done the different buildings. I love the contracts that I... So in my test... or I really like about it is you could go down to the planet. You could take a contract that's local. It might be a couple of kilometers away. It might be, I don't know, it might be really close to like 60 kilometers away. So you could drive to them and then you could do the contract, blah, blah, blah. And then you could bed log in the area, come back on the next day. You could earn money and rep and never have to fly your ship because you could just drive and do it. And that felt really cool. mean, obviously the terrain, you're still going to want to fly a ship. if you, if you didn't want to, or even if your ship got blown up, but you had a ground vehicle, you could do it. So I'm hoping they add ground vehicles at these places, whether it's a rental or you could purchase them at these places, or you can find them. there are, you can find mules in Pyro at certain areas, just randomly parked. More stuff like that would be really cool because then- And like ATLSs and stuff like that just chilling on the side of a pad. Yeah. Yeah. So you can then if your if your chip gets destroyed for a reason, you can basically live on a planet and never have to leave and earn money, which is really cool. Yeah, agree. Yeah, the terrain needs work. Definitely. There's definitely bugs and the assets are all going to be like biome based. So if it's a desert place, you'll probably get more desert types of like buildings and same with swamps and stuff. So they all they as Pete said, they come from like a library of assets that and they just procedurally generate based on game rules in that area. Yeah. Yeah. But they're clusters and there's they get bigger and bigger. Think of them countries, each clusters, a different country thing is really cool. And obviously the planet is so big. very, very interesting. Nice. Thank you very much, gentlemen. I am very excited and immensely jealous. Right. Well, we have been going for in 40 seconds, it will have been in exactly an hour. there's anything else we wanted to discuss this evening gentlemen before we before we away not long enough rid of you trauma we do have we do have our our news we prepared some game news that was non star citizen related yeah I thought we should definitely cover that just because we haven't yet and so maybe we should finish on some new non star citizen and squadron information because That's the idea, That's the new direction. That's the new chapter. We've just, but to be fair, there's been a lot to talk about in Star Citizen Squadron. has. Yeah. Which we will still cover it because obviously it is still one of our main loves. So we will come back to it when important things are there, but yes, different gaming news. Is there anything before we move on from Star Citizen Squadron? Any other questions? that you guys had about Squatch in 42 or the event last weekend. Screamer has one. Did you get a double dog? There was no double dogs at the event. did provide food, there was no double dogs. Unbelievable. It's not hard to give the stars an extra dog into a dog and it becomes a double dog. I just remember our conversation with the guys at the space center is like, yeah, we got two Frankfurs in one bun. And they just couldn't seem to get in their heads. I was like, just trust me on this. two frankfurts, one bun, put a price on it, whatever, people pay it because they'll get a double dog. Please just do it. Okay, we'll just do it. Cool. Got any left? We sold out. Wow. It's like I should be on your marketing team. Come on. Gridimus says, has it rekindled the hype for Star Citizen for you? For me, I think it has and I wasn't even there. Yeah, massively. I had a two month break and I had no real plans in coming back. I was enjoying war dogs and gears e-day and frickin witcher. There's so many other games have been playing Hunt showdown. Look, I had no I had no desire to get back into star citizen But after the squadron event and then obviously subsequently we've had a couple of decent patches like the RSI event right now is good fun and the new Connie's good fun the fact you can Go and rent that for free and stuff. So you could well, you know, can still for the event for five days and then you have to buy it but it's Yeah, definitely. Definitely. And the Evo test for the Knicks stuff. 100 % I'm back into the star system. I need to quit my job, man. It's like, too much to play right now. Far too much. So the next legitimate question, which I think definitely needs answering is how many hot dogs can you fit in your mouth at one? Now I feel like you need to quantify for us. Do you mean the entirety of the bun and the dog? or just the dog itself. think he's referring to the grapes thing is that how many grapes can I fit in my mouth? Well, he did say I know one doc is a solid four but swanky and G GFA if it's just the dog. I don't know. Are we talking normal Frankfurt size? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe six or seven. I think I've got a big mouth. What about your platters? That's what we're talking, isn't it? If we're talking party sausages, 24, right? Family pack of 24. Get the whole lot in. Need more room for dogs. Just the dog. If it's just the dog. Yo, Riddick. Breadless dog. Hold on. Meat to meat, we're talking. I'm going eight. I'm going eight. Eight. You know what? Yeah. I could probably see seven or eight. And I think at some point we need to test this and this will be some quantum dispatch content. The dog challenge. Wanda, you seem to have a problem with this. was that? Going back to the meet to meet comment. Right. We've got Ash in chat. He's replying to the question about like, how hard did it bring you back? He's brought me back so hard. He's flying the Connie Muck 5 in VR right now. How is that looking? I've got my VR but I need to get back into it. VR is good. There was a VR sim pit, like moving sim pit they had in the studio for a couple of the missions. And the mission they let people... I didn't actually get a chance to do it because everyone wanted to do it we didn't have enough time and it was just two rigs but I got to watch it on the screen while some people were doing it and the mission they were doing... man, you're gonna love it. You're gonna love Squadron. I'm just saying it, man. You're gonna fucking love Squadron. so excited. I need to get a VR headset before it comes out. Yeah. If you can get a VR headset. mean, I want one of those Pyrmaxes. be fair, I've got a nice bonus coming from work just before the beginning of Q2. So I'm like, I might be like, hey, you know this bonus I'm getting? already assigned some of that to something. I can lend you the meta quest while on my way. yeah, I'm not hearing great things about the Pimax Crystal stuff, but I am hearing that the big screen VR is good. Big screen VR? Yeah. Who does that? Who makes that? Big screen. All right. I thought you were talking about there's a really big screen with this VR headset though I'm talking about. It's a very minimalistic VR headset. it looks ridiculous but yeah that look okay big screen VR OLED displays okay you're selling me you're selling me. Yeah OLED lenses so blacks of space look great yeah. It's very small. Okay. That looks like they haven't finished it. Yeah, coming soon to him. Yeah. It's it's a back on it. If you pay an extra 50 quid. It's very sort of like small and the shoe, but it's supposed to be really good. That's it. So next to the that's the apple. Is that eye tracking? How much? How much? Bunch? Yeah. How much is it? think it's about 1200 pounds. You're not far off. It's probably shifting. What? No, it's 1200. With the eye tracking. Yeah, next year 150 is 1200. get the special edition with pink. Yeah, sure. Okay. So if anyone here wants to sponsor us, hey, you guys, Big Screen, we'd love we'd hear you guys. Hey, Big Screen, we'd love to work with you and advertise your product. If you send us four of your product, we will review it. My plan is to keep making Star Citizen content until I can email them and be like, sponsor your boy, send me a big screen beyond. And I will do the review of a lifetime within Star Citizen and Squadron 42. I'm going to I'm going to get AI to ping an email a day. We'll be like, we've got our fifth member of the Quantum Dispatch, which is Screamer, who's emotional and moral support. And good cuddles. Are we allowed to talk about Wednesday and then carry on whilst he's typing? Well, actually, while he answers, yes, he says yes. Cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, but before that, I think the section that we were talking about doing, which is games that are coming up and we had a look. yeah, go on then. Yeah. This is for you, Bobby. Stay tuned, game on! Stay tuned, game on. That's going to be in my head all night. I'm going to wake up at 2 a.m. in the morning. Stay tuned. Whoa, where am I? Where am I? shit. But yes, so what is coming out soon? So I was having a quick look at this as well, just to have a look and see what kind of games and stuff were coming out. And I noticed one which is very Marmite. And I only said that because it is Call of Duty for Modern Warfare. Now, I would love to talk about this game. But what I'm really excited about is something that eclipses this game in every way, shape and form. Something that I believe the entire world is going to enjoy even more than this. And it is Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the much anticipated sequel to Nintendo Switch Sports is coming. And I am very, excited considering I don't know about you guys, but every single Christmas with my family, we all get together and we have Nintendo Switch. and we all bring ours over and we have a chance to have a giant family competition. So much fun with Nintendo Switch Sports that they have and then Resort when it comes out. And I believe Pete, I, yes, I got very excited about it, mentioned it to you too, to you and you said, I already have it. No, I don't have pre-order. have it on pre-order, that's what I was about to say. Have it on pre-order. What a better way to be able to legally beat up your family. Me and my sisters take great pride in knocking each other's socks off in the boxing side of it. But yes, this is something that I am incredibly looking forward to, and especially as a dad of a little four-month-old little baby girl. Once she gets old enough, I can't wait to start doing stuff like this with her, which is going to be so, so exciting. Me and my wife are going to practice so we can get really good to make sure she doesn't beat us. My kids aren't going to know what's hit us when this lands. I was all over like Wii Sports, Kinect Sports. That was class with the dog getting in the way. Chris was like, just literally launched this dog across the room. was like, no. And you're like, this is so realistic. That looks like a real dog. wait a minute. no, dude. Just playing football. no, the dog. What's the release date for this? October 22nd, I believe. Yeah. I'm in. I'm in. man. We should do together because that would be hilarious. QD plays Switch Sports Tennis. Nintendo club. Nintendo. Yeah. Nintendo. Go back to chat. I so wish they did a new Pilotwings and I completely agree with you. Pilotwings was the one, especially on the Super Nintendo with the jetpack and You got to go through the course and then land on that square with the bullseye. Yeah, man. That was class. I'm showing my age now. Also, size A did say Zelda. What Zelda? don't know. New, new Zelda game coming up. Never heard of it, Never heard of it, but that will be another week. crawl on out of your hole, loo. November 5th, 2026. Yes, we won't cover what we'll do is each episode will cover a variety of games that we've looked at that week that's coming in the current month. So we won't cover everything in the current month in one episode. It will be split across as we have a look at them. I want to bring up a game that I think will appeal to people in chat, maybe that don't know. don't think anyone in the chat may have even known about it. I mean, you might know about it, but it's unlikely. I feel like it comes out. It comes out. on October the 29th, so end of the month. And it is called, Sonar Submarine Operators Not Actually Ready. And it looks fun as heck, as I will show you. Please do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right, I got it up already. It's right here. I already had the ready with the trailer. No, no, no, get rid of that. Let's get rid of that. What did do? You got the trailer here, man. Here we go. Yes, please. please. Yes, please. So, it's a multi crew submarine where everyone's going to have roles to do. There's fire, you've got to repair leaks. You've got to shoot and kill other carriers and submarines and stuff. You can slap each other. no, there's going to be a whole section of us to slap in each other. You've got to try and navigate around, load the torpedoes manually. Mate, it just looks so, so funny. I am really excited for this. is Sea of Thieves in the submarine. Yeah. I'm, I am so sold on this. I really can't wait. It's on, it's Rich Liston's theme. Screamer just said, I can understand why the universe is trying to sink that submarine. If us four are on it, it's definitely going down. A hundred percent. I think it looks absolutely brilliant. There's a demo out right now that you can play with your friends. Maybe we should jump into that at some point, but it comes out at end of the month. This is a game I've been looking at for a couple of days. And yeah, it's made by Abbey Light Barcelona. I think I said that right, Abbey Light. And they've only made a handful of games. I have seen this before, one military camp. I have not played it, but I believe it's actually in my wishlist. That looks quite interesting as well. That does look fun. And they've also made Citadelum. Whatever that is, it's a city builder in ancient Rome. So both have very positive reviews. So I'm sure all of their games so far have got positive, very positive reviews. So I'm sure they will not just one at the park as well. I'm very excited for this. Similar to Gary's modern peak is what it says here, which is also very good things. There are some YouTube videos on it already. If you want to wish list it, I will put a link. This is not an ad. Just let people know. I will put a link if you want to wish list it. Have a look at the game. Sponsored by Sonar. Submarine upgrade is not actually ready. That looks very, very fun. Take your friends on a trip in a submarine, multi-crew gameplay. And that's why said it might appeal to Star Citizen. yeah, there's a link. Nice. we lost Pete. because he went into a submarine. That's yeah. Okay, I get it. He's gone down. His internet has died. We will never know what game Pete was bringing to the podcast. Can I just slap Swanky? Yes. Yes, you can. Yes. The thing is though, what he means in real life in about 10 minutes, you're to watch someone come through this door here and just, I'm to be gone. But no, yeah, those are the games that we're looking forward to at the moment. There's a lot of other ones that I really want to talk about, but closer to the time, there's a lot of good games coming up with many, different genres. Well, we've done our Squadron 42 episode. and our Evo we spoke about today. So this has been Star Citizen Heavy. Next week will be the first episode where we'll probably be very Star Citizen light and it will be more focused on other games. And that is where we'll really lean into more segments like this, but a bit more refined where we'll have a game that we'll talk about in more detail and hopefully we would have played as well. just depends. I really want to talk about The Witcher, the Witcher remake. yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. So we'll do a lot of covering in that next week. So Thank you everyone for watching. I'm assuming Pete won't be coming back because his internet is gone. He's gonna run outside and find it. wait, wait, wait. He said let him in. he's gone. I was gonna let him in. It came up for a second. here we go. He's back. He's back. He's just naked. Pete put it away. no. It's fine. Did you have a game that you wanted to talk about Pete? Yeah, thought actually. When you said the 29th, I was like, is it your 40th birthday, by the way, there's a balloon just floating in the background. It was my 40th birthday two weeks ago and that balloon is still alive. Why won't you let me die? So I could put this game on and we just watch the trailer. Okay. And I want to know what the what the community thinks of this. Did you share it with sound? When you share your screen. Have you turned the audio up on X? I think it's all the way down. can't hear it. No, can't. Go back and reshare of audio. There's a little toggle. Did you click the toggle on? I can't hear what you're saying. Did you? Did you toggle the audio one when you shared your screen? Right. Let me redo this. Reshare your screen. God, he's 40. 80. Fucking hell. Lo-Fi Chill Vibes. in yeah i'm already son of a bitch i'm in you son of a bitch i'm in come offy daya yeah that's cracking This looks so good dude. What? no, I could lose myself to a game like this for a very long time. 29th of October, early access. We love early access games. Yeah, Screamers hit the nail on the head of the avatar. No Man's Sky X avatar, like the floating place. Yeah, dude, that was really cool. What was that called? At this far, and I will put a Steam page in the chat if you're interested in what you just saw. There you go. I'm going to, I've wishlisted it. I'm doing exactly the same thing. I have more steam on my phone as we speak. That looks really, really fun. Right. And then on to the next bit, I guess. So are you coming on Wednesday now? think? It depends on work. I am planning to, unless work completely screws me and I can't get out on Well, at the moment, Swanky and I on Wednesday are going down to London to check this out. Man, I didn't find out what song this is. it looks so good, I need to find out what song this is. Yeah, really excited to find out more. I'm hoping I can get there after work. As soon as I finish, I'll drive to the station. Yeah. Hell yeah, dude. So I was lucky enough to see this already, briefly, very briefly, at Computex out in Thailand, Taiwan. Why can't I get my words out today? Out in Taiwan for Computex. And they were showcasing, I was like... forwards are on it, which at the time was quite a difficult game for handheld consoles to grasp both bad for true life and performance. This nailed it out of the box. So really, really looking forward to what we're going to see and how it's going to perform because portability, especially my line of work, is something I take very seriously because as much as you travel in your space is limited and you don't want to limit what you can play. I've usually found myself carting laptops around the world. controllers and everything and to take something in your hands like this that can perform to that eye level. Really looking forward to it Screamer. Thank you so much for the invite my man. Very excited. Yeah, very excited to be there and to see it and to get my hands on it, especially because I've never had anything or done anything like that either. It'll be very interesting for me. I've always been desktop dude or console and moved away from that a while ago. a wonderful opportunity to, yeah, to literally get my hands on it. And that's just screamer, let alone the handheld console. I'm also excited to get my hands on the console. Yeah. Yeah. I really can't wait. I love portable consoles. I have a Switch 2, which I love, but it obviously doesn't run heavy hitting games. It's very fun to use. has great for Nintendo games, but it's smaller, lower graphics games, right? So having something that's as powerful as this in your hands. Yeah. I personally really excited to take a look and I don't know how many reach rounds I have to give Screamer for one for free, but I'm willing to give at least two. For our audio viewers, yes, he did just say reach around. Just wanted to clarify that. For the visual ones, here's a representation of how he's going to... No, no, no, no, no, no. I think there was another handheld that came out a few years ago and I don't want to... I don't specify which one, but it was one that you had to everything was cloud based gaming that you had. was just you just streamed it to the console. That ain't it, bro. What good is that on a plane or a train or anything? It's literally only a good at home. So that's not the important thing you're talking about. No, it was a I am oblivious, Riddick. It was a one. Wasn't G Cloud screaming to say as well, there will be a competition to win one. What do need to learn, my man? Reach arounds. It's the Reach Around World Cup final. Round, reach around. We reach around, we reach around. There's a new jingle coming out. my God. I have completed the wine. OK, all right. I'm looking forward to Wednesday even more now. Reach around. Do you see us all looking a little flush in the face next Sunday and we're all just chilling like hey. They were only giving them out if you gave a reach around. So anyway, here's an Atlas 8. I'd never do that. It was disgusting. I hate that company. Anyway, my Atlas 8 is really good at doing... I remember that social media fad, probably this guy says, dirty old bloke down there. says... Yo, if I nosh him off, it could be a 10-0. Are we buying with a 10-0 like that? Gridimus says on that note, I'll see you next week, lads. I have completed the wine. Yes. Gridimus, catch you next week. Thank you so much for joining us, my friend. Lovely to see you as always. That is our time as well, I was going to say this is probably a good... We will end on a reach around. thank you. Yes, so for me, firstly, thank you very much. for coming and joining us and for chatting away with us and for joining us as we venture forth out into the world in a slightly different direction. But yes, I of course do stream and do other bits and bobs throughout the week, so you'll catch my socials there. And hopefully you will also get some stuff from socials from where we go on Wednesday. And also have a look out on our YouTube as there will be some videos and stuff coming out on some of the games that we have enjoyed playing as well. YouTube, lovely gentleman. Do like to say your goodbyes? Yeah, good stuff. OK, so don't forget that you can also get 5 % off verbal controls for the code quantum5 at checkout. Nothing like the quality of verbal flight controls. Make sure to visit www.quantumdispatch.co.uk which will be going under going some changes soon. and conditions apply. We are moving away from that linear kind of direction. But yes, thank you very much for all the love and support. It's good to be back. We will be back again next week and it will be more generic gaming news as we have discussed and less Star Citizen focused. And to all the YouTube viewers, thank you very much for being there.
