Quantum Dispatch: Back to the Quantum Dispatch Podcast, where we mainly talk about Star Citizen, a game, believe it or not. I am joined by GFA Plays, One Dark Enigma, CJ Radley, and of course I'm joined by myself because I have multiple alter egos. ⁓ this week we will be talking about CJ Morrison, we'll be talking about Foundation Festival, we are talking about ⁓ Ship Showdown, where you pick your favorite ship, vote for it, and it probably doesn't get picked other than the majority and the things that people like, but you can still vote anyway. So, gentlemen. How are we this week? We are doing very, very well on this beautiful Sunday. And it was a lovely day at Bar Citizen. You were sorely missed, Swanky. Yes, I'm afraid I could not make it, but I ⁓ I was I had been hired to dress up as a pirate for my friend's little girl's fifth birthday party. So I spent three and a half hours being chased by kids with foam swords and thoroughly beaten to death. It was ⁓ it was a wonderful time. It was a wonderful time. But I I was sorry not to Did anything fun come from ⁓ w what did happen at the Bar Citizen? Talk us through it. Wha how was the event? Any juicy bits of insight or gossip that you found out from it? Anything that we can say. We got on a boat. We did get on a boat. I'm on a boat. ⁓ Fun a boat. So Cambridge Bar Citizen is ran by Garrickan who is undergoing the PhD at Cambridge University and or her master's Something to do with brain science, she's super intelligent. But she's also part of the boating club. And so each of her bar citizens, she will take groups out on the boat. ⁓ it was the most beautiful weather for it yesterday. Everyone was out. There was a a PIMS that the little boat's called Punts. So there was a Pims punt that was out on the on the river. And he the guy was rapid with his like pole, he's like making ways down up and down the rivers, like pims, pims, pims, selling the pimps. Tom's living dancing on that pole. Yeah, he's class, man. ⁓ we also saw someone fall in. It was brilliant. That was great. I was like, okay, boys, watch this. Cause he had both feet planted in the boat and he put both hands on the side and he was the only one in the boat. No one was helping him. I was like, he's gone. He's gone already. And we turned everyone turned in time just to see the boat move away from the shore and bush. And he goes, Brilliant. There's a few people that got wet. Yeah. One Dark weed himself. That's not true. That's not true. The hesitation the hesitation on the first two words tells me otherwise. So I passed the oar to someone. There was a paddle in my crotch. I passed the oar to someone who says, I will paddle. And they paddled around the side and this wave of water just came in and lapped over the side and into my lap. We we basically Pete was saying that everyone else is bad at oaring. So we Peter You mean you mean rowing? They didn't have one. I thought when one had one that was like this long, I don't know what good that was ever gonna do. We coined Pete as was Peter Or Peter Aura was Pete's name on the boat. Like that. Yeah, it was very good. I was expecting that to get a bigger laugh out of you, Swank, I won't lie. ⁓ but yeah. There was a lot of splashing. What do we call him? What do we call him? Peter Aura. ⁓ we still didn't get it. Come on. Come on to He said it twice. ⁓ it's good fun, you know. It was actually quite good fun. Jokes are always funnier when you actually take time to explain them afterwards. Okay? It's very important. Someone lost their pole, so we rescued ⁓ because they were just on a on a on a boat floating and we just we just had to get their pole for ⁓ There's a lot of puns in today's episode already. There was a lot of ramen as well. Ramin, ramin, poles. Pete got wet. Like Yeah. You know what? Maybe ⁓ maybe I should have come along after all. I feel like I've missed out on quite a lot here. You did. There was a space that we had to fill that space with ⁓ with car. ⁓ we took car on the boat as well. So it was it was QD You took a car on the boat. My wife and car. It's insane. Yeah, so it was good fun. ⁓ and other than that, I think they underestimated how many people were gonna turn up ⁓ because there was not a lot of space at the ⁓ the pub. ⁓ quite a lot of people turn up, but it was good fun. Great people did enjoy it. Yeah, yeah. I enjoyed it. And ⁓ did the boats not have an engine? Or was it no engines. Okay. Garrickin was like Garrikan. Yeah, Garrick was the engine. Nice, nice. Just opened Twitch, just seen chat bullying me already. Easy target. Well that's the the problem is is when there's engines involved, ⁓ it becomes a lot easier. Awesome. Sounds it was sounds like it was sounds like it was a good time. And sounds like everyone had a lot of fun. ⁓ which I'm glad about. And then brings us on to what's coming up over the next two weeks. Foundation Festival is coming up soon. ⁓ which is ordinarily a chance for learned veterans of the game like ourselves, ⁓ to be able to guide those new to the verse around the bugs, around the verse. And ensure that they have a good time, learn how to play the game, etcetera, et cetera. And there are goodies to be had for the new people and for the older people. There was a little bit of talk at first of should they do Foundation Festival? Is Foundation Festival gonna happen? Because of the fact that the game's in an interesting state at the moment. ⁓ I will come to you, ⁓ GFA, because you look like you have your hmm ponderous sinking chin on. ⁓ and what what are your thoughts on Foundation Festival and the fact that it's coming up? Are you happy that it's coming up? Do you think it's a good thing that it's happening? What are your thoughts? I think with any event right now is a bad idea, to be honest. I the game is not in a in a very nice state at the moment for for for various reasons. But I mean it's playable and you can you can have a really good session in it right now, but e the servers are still being the servers and the rubber banding and stuff is still happening yeah constantly. So I feel like pushing marketing events when it's like this is like kind of pointless. Same with free flies, like I hate when they push a free fly when the game's like this because you what are you doing? You're making people are coming in and going, What is this game? I'm never playing this again. And then they forget about it. You're not enticing them. So I just ⁓ we don't need events. Like people are gonna buy ships when they buy ships. It's it's a marketing thing to put ships on sale. That that's what it is. at this point, just put all the ships on sale and then just let the game and then fix the game, forget these events because they're so pointless. ⁓ that's how I feel about it anyway. Well, one duck, moving on to you. What are your thoughts on Foundation Festival? Love it. All for it. Get everyone in. Yeah, all the free flies. Let's do it. ⁓ I think it's a really good way of getting back to basics, bit of training for people. ⁓ it it's a chance for newer players to put their hand up and go, Well, actually, I've never done mining. I've never really thought about it, but actually this has made me bring it up in conversation for people to go, let's take a mole out. Let's go out and prospectors, let's go and rent something, let's go and play the game, let's check like test the mechanics. So I'm I'm all for it. When it works. When it works. Yeah, I think to devil's advocate GFA and add a little to what One Dark says, I think maybe this is the reason why they are still doing it is because it gives them a chance to have a look at see what happens with the new player experience. ⁓ and to try and find and work out where the bugs are there and where the issues are there. ⁓ again I haven't done it in quite a while. So how the new player experience is right now, I have no idea. Because every time I load in Surve, I'm like, skip. Skip. One day I will do the tutorial. One day I will do the tutorial. ⁓ and I really enjoy the fact that someone in chat just said new player quotation mark experience. ⁓ so yeah. ⁓ it would be interesting to do it and see what happens because I've heard the people said that it's changed and that it's different or that it's better than it was, but What's better? Better than what? You know, I haven't experienced it since I started playing the game. And even then I skipped it 'cause my friend was doing it for me and he said, Don't do that. I'll show you around. ⁓ so yeah, and maybe it could be a good thing. Who knows? CJ, what are your thoughts on it? I mean if you're talking about the new player experience, ⁓ it's exactly the same as the returning player experience. ⁓ load of shit doesn't work. ⁓ but I do think that ⁓ yeah, time stamp that. ⁓ so you can cut that curse word out. But ⁓ I do think the player experience should actually focus like quite a lot of time on not actually leaving the city. So maybe letter picking in a station. and ⁓ and or having areas where you can do box missions and stuff like that. so you can do a lot of stuff without physically leaving. ⁓ the city and then leaving should be the very last thing, right? Yeah. So it should just be literally you go down to the depths, you do a box mission, and during the box mission you might run into enemy and you pick up a weapon on the way, kind of like how Destiny was when you do your first mission on Destiny, yeah, Destiny 2, you spawn, you've got nothing, and as you're going through the room. you're picking up a tractor beam to move a box, to jump on the box, so then like climb into the next vent area. And then you find a weapon, a rusty weapon laying on the floor, and then you just get jumped by some like raiders or something like that. ⁓ I do think they need to focus a lot more on the inside the city stuff without flying because that stuff actually works sometimes. I think that's a really interesting point because they've spoken a lot about wanting a story, haven't they? Like a story mode. ⁓ And with a story mode, you need to actually end up having a connection to your character, to the world, to and how you can't build that if they're fighting the game right from the off. ⁓ and also you need to have a reward. You know, when I first played the game, you get in a ship, you take off, amazing experience. You walk in the ship, amazing experience, you you leave for the first time, you fly through the atmosphere, incredible experience. But it does wear off after a while. I think that would hit even harder if Say for example you spawn on Hurston, you have to then go in a little ground vehicle out to an outpost where you do a little thing and then you come back from the outpost having earned the right to get something else. And the first couple of hours of gameplay are you building up towards leaving for the first time in a ship. Even if it's not actually you flying the ship, you're a passenger in somebody else's. ⁓ you know, 'cause I know one of my Yeah. When when CJ steals all the new players and ⁓ has them all in in in cells, I can remember one of my best friends. I had a cutty black, and the first time he experienced the get this was he sat on the back of my cutty black, I opened the ramp and I did the whole taking off and flying to the atmosphere and then quantuming and he was there like mind blown. You know, but that was i if that had been after a while, it would have like, ⁓ my god, this is so cool. Yeah, I watched Some some like content creators that are humm Star Citizen. ⁓ and they posted up a lot of ⁓ socials and it's like, I I play this game so you don't have to, kind of like shorts. Yeah. And they were like, I played this game so you don't have to. After X amount of hours trying to actually get into the game after facing like countless bugs, countless errors. ⁓ I eventually managed to get in my ship and fly around. And they were just like, Holy crap, this game is so beautiful. ⁓ and it is, it's a very beautiful game. But having a beautiful game only gets you so far when the game and everything else doesn't work. ⁓ so at least the bugs are pretty. ⁓ but yeah, I mean, as for the new player experience, obviously if if they're coming away and they're giving it good ratings, then it can't be that bad. But it's whether they're doing the new player experience or they're just getting shown around. Because I think that's what ninety percent of the game is, and bringing us back onto Foundation Festival, that's what it's about. It's about other people showing you how to play the game. ⁓ and like we've seen it years and years before. ⁓ the foundation festivals you you you partner up with with guides, ⁓ and guides will take you through all the aspects of the game from mining to salvage to to combat and medical gameplay and all that sort of stuff. I think people learn the most doing that. Because even as like a veteran player or a returning player, there's probably something you haven't done. I just presume you don't know. Like how many of us actually know the ins and out of mining? It changes so many times. It changes so And that's why I go with GFA to to mine. I like mining. I think mine is the best gameplay loop in the game. It's the only one that actually has a gameplay loop. Yeah. Nothing else actually has a loop. So yeah. Well, not definitely not a fleshed out loop. I know that they've they've put a lot of love into mining recently. ⁓ that's come a long way. Yeah. Salvage is good. They but they made salvage a little bit more friction based with the whole you've got to now refine the salvage, right? If you wanna get the most money. But that's just the same as mining. So yeah. Salvage is great. The only thing I don't like the different the only difference between mining and salvage is that mini game of actually getting the material outside of like searching for it and stuff and scanning, which is a lot better now. Your mi your materials actually come up from a distance, so you can see there's iron over there or there's magnesium over whatever, right? It's pretty good rather than it's huge. Yeah. Love that. It's such a time saver. So like takes away so much friction. The only and then when you crack a rock you can re-scan it and see what's in each one. It's brilliant. The only downside to like salvage is that the the gameplay is a little bit boring when you when you do it. If for me, it's like power wash simulator. Most people end up just cracking the ship and then you're not really doing the full salvage loop. No. ⁓ and you're not getting the most money then, are you? As well. Like the money is from the scraping. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's good. Like they're both good. think they should build on their current Nike, ⁓ crafting. So crafting is basically what's gave mining is sort of full loop. ⁓ because you can go from a raw material to a refined to then a a crafted item. ⁓ but I feel like salvage needs to needs to fit into that loop as well. So if you want to make like a P4AR, yes you have to go and find certain metals, but maybe there's a way that they basically force you to have to do salvage and get some salvage materials to build that P4AR because then it ties two loops together. If maybe the base material has to be scrap, like metal that's come from scrapping a ship, you can either buy it at a higher price or you can go out and salvage it to get to a certain point, which then might incentivize people to go out and do salvaging instead of just buying it from base. Because it would do a lot of player to player trades because people are going to do one or the other. People already are buying ⁓ mined materials so they can do crafting and stuff like that. And and in game there's always saying like want to sell or want to buy like nine what is it like nine forty, I think is like the higher bracket ⁓ material and people are asking for that. So they did that for salvage as well. There's a lot of people that won't do salvage and mining. So it would it would create a bit of player trade. Yeah. Yeah yeah it's already created some like Again, talking about these things, it's been great since crafting has come in because now you have subsections and like there's a ⁓ a Discord with a load of people that I've played with for a long time in and they like Star Citizen. And one of them's a crafter, that's his main thing. He's got lots of good blue blueprints. The other one's a miner, she loves to mine. The other guy he's a cr he loves to go out and and do FPS. But between them, they'll be chatting all the time and going, Hey, I've just gone and collected this amount of material. There's another blueprint that this would benefit from. Yeah, cool. Okay, let's get together, let's organise this. ⁓ so I know a while ago we spoke on this podcast about feeling like it doesn't go anywhere and nothing means anything. Things are starting to mean something now. ⁓ and I really like that. It'd good if like ⁓ the metals you get, and go back to the salvage one real quick, just throwing a random idea out there. ⁓ you can craft like an entire like one SEU of like pure iron ore, like nine nine nine quality. ⁓ but you can't use the iron ore directly. Imagine if it's got to be like an iron alloy. And now you have to mix in construction ⁓ like RMC into that alloy to then create like a an iron composite, which is what you utilize in in weapons and stuff. ⁓ I think that'd be really good. It'll add like a a reason to want to do salvage. Because at the moment there isn't really a reason other than it just makes money, right? ⁓ but yeah, it'd be good if we can join a few things together and then create that full cargo loop. But Foundation Festival then, are you guys gonna be guiding? You gonna be doing it? ⁓ what's the plan? Well, I I feel if it's a plan, but we were speaking Bar Susan weren't we about potentially looking at taking out some of the starterships and just purely focusing on the gameplay around those? Yeah, we do Gollum if you want. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I think I agree. ⁓ one dark you said to me about like going out as a new player and being like, right, let's enter the game as if we were new with the starting amount of credits and go, what does this look like? What are the starter missions like? How easy is it to do them with a starter ship? Like, I've got a couple of starterships. I think we all have a couple of starterships ⁓ that we can then go out and experience it. ⁓ which I think would be great. And then there's also something that we can then report back on actually, this is the new player experience, especially if four point one ⁓ comes out. Maybe all four of us, when we go into the game for the first time, can say, You know what? Yeah, I'll do the tutorial. ⁓ Recently. My wife has done a yes. And my wife has done a tutorial. ⁓ And it bugged out twice on her. And the third time she crashed into ⁓ the LEO. So she was like, I'm not playing this game ever again. This was like two hours that this was like two hours later, right? Skill def. After doing tutorial, yeah, it was a skill def. ⁓ the station moved, granted. It kind of like flew at her ⁓ and then she blew up. So that was that was the excuse. ⁓ stations. That's what I'm saying. It needs to have more ground based stuff. You need to be able to control your character and move move boxes and stuff, because that's what half the game is. Moving boxes. They're supposed to be bringing those instance things in Area 18 they spoke out, wasn't there? Like the the ⁓ the lower levels that you could go and do stuff at whatever it was. Yeah. Maintenance maintenance sewers or some I'd like to see those. I'd like to see those. Yeah. ⁓ but yeah. ⁓ I don't really have anything else of foundation festival. ATL ⁓ skin. Mm-hmm. Which is quite good. ⁓ if you get involved with it. And there's drops. ⁓ is that the ATLS skin and at the drops is the ATLS skin. Which is pretty crap, really. If it's drops and it's just a drop, I think they should do more than that. Well, there's a little bit of controversy here, isn't there? Because one of the drops items is apparently I haven't I'm gonna look into this now, but I'm hearing that you have to be subscribed to the person you're watching in order to unlock the Banu Lock you ⁓ thing. You have to give us a subscription. So I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'd I'd want people to come and watch us, talk with us and get everything. I didn't have to sub, but like I'm not sure why they would be doing this. Is it their way of saying, well, hey, we're gonna support people that want to support our game? By trying to get you subscriptions or like what? I'm just concerned that they're gonna do very specific content creators that they allow that on. Which then I think that is not not great. ⁓ if they allow it, so basically anyone that's streaming in the category can get them. then that'll be that'll be fine. Because then it like for w when I'm watching content creators, I don't go to the top of the front page. Like I always scroll a little bit. ⁓ and just go to someone that's got like a smaller ⁓ a viewer. Yeah, yeah. ⁓ and there's so many people like who I've actually played with ⁓ quite a lot. ⁓ and that's better. And if that is if that is the case and you have to subscribe to someone to get this this gift, that's exactly what I'm gonna be doing. I'm just gonna be scrolling down the directory, find someone that's got like one to five sort of viewers and just Just sub there. ⁓ then it's going somewhere that A will be appreciated. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And ⁓ B doesn't get swallowed up and they just look at chat and then come back to being like, yo, what's up, guys? We're back again with another six stream. Yeah. You know, just like GFA. Just like GFA does, yeah. It I'm s it's surprising though that they've not actually just sold the item on the store. Cause I would have thought market would have been all over that. It doesn't feel right, which is why I'm not so sure that this is gonna be actually true. Well it's what they said. Yeah. They have said that. So it is true. ⁓ But it does sort of in a sen incentivize ⁓ like a promotion on Twitch. ⁓ to then go back to the game just being an absolute sham right now. And and ⁓ how it has been for like the last year or two years, whatever. ⁓ I just don't I don't know. I think the game sh doesn't need advertisement. Like people don't want people don't need to play it 'cause they're gonna play it, they're gonna get bored. Like my wife, she she did the tutorial mission three times and she probably will never play the game again. Just because of two times with bugs and third time with skill def. But it just does mean that she won't come back to the game. And if she's she's a small person in in the the the back here, the back of like branch, how many people has it happened to? How many people they loaded up and they fell through the map and then go nah for this game. We could concern about new new e these events though, getting new people in. Like do you want your first impression to be this game sucks? No, is the answer by the way. You don't want people to come in the game and go this sucks. So I just don't know why they push events when things are not working. It's because they do the referral bonuses and it's just a ⁓ A reason to sell ships, but also a reason for people to buy alt accounts to get their referral bonuses. They probably do get quite lot of money from it. Well they do. I've whilst we've been talking, I have gone and made a little I say I've made AI's made a little jingle for us to say, is it good or is it whack? Well, I'll tell you my answer. Good or whack! You tell me that! Go whack! Good or whack, Star Citizen check, good or whack, new event on deck. Good or whack. Okay. Whack. I think we all agree. Whack, yeah. Yeah, it's whack. I like I found that super catchy and I'm like, yeah, that's that's that's a new jingle now for good or whack. We play that whenever we're gonna say is something we're doing. It's quack. Good or whack. It's quack. Whack. Quack. I'm gonna discreet with all of you. I've not had any really significant problems with four point nine. Frame rate's been good. Everything has generally worked. People have been having issues with desktop three times when we played it. Your PC turns itself off. That was my PC. Since then it's been taken apart. It's had new ⁓ new thermal paste. Everything's been reseated. I've actually re inserted my thirty ninety, which was clipping out me before. ⁓ yeah. And that seems to be working. So I'm quids in. I'm now like wondering, do I actually need to upgrade? Like, but ⁓ I I already committed, I already got RAM. I'm hiding my address because yeah. ⁓ yeah, I'm ready to go for the upgrade more or less. It's got a couple of things I need to buy. And I think now I'm in search of higher frames and I wanna unlock more of the potential that can be done through the system side of things. But going back to someone's point before, which was for new players, we experience the same issues as regular players in that something doesn't work will fall through the map, like you ⁓ yeah, it's sick, we're gonna go to a distribution facility. And when those first came out, people upon entering were straight away falling through the map, vehicles falling through the map, and you got that's it, game over, I'm done. It's so punishing when you come across a bug that isn't anything to do with your gameplay or someone else's. When it was purely an environmental thing that happens with the game, I just like I'm done. I'm done. So it's the whole tier zero looting. came around because you didn't want to grind for this piece of armour and then a bug gets it swallowed, right? And you lose it. That was like ninety percent of the argument for Tier Zero looting. Just fix your f game and you won't lose armour. Like surely that shouldn't be a baseline, right? We're gonna come out of a feature so you don't lose stuff because we've got bugs that we can't fix. Yeah, I mean but you got still you gotta take yourself back. What they are still building this game. You've got two Multi multiple teams. Fourteen years, yes. Yes, fourteen years of building the game. But the they with each new feature that creeps into the game, they've promised more, maybe over promised because this is stuff that's never been covered before. You've got to remember one side of the studio is building the multi story hotel and another team is trying to sell the penthouse. And it's it's like, ⁓ they're trying to sell the dream. Let's come and do this, bring your friends in, you know, let come into it and it's it's a building site and it's like, well, why would I want this experience when I can go and play Call of Duty, but I can go and play In Shrouded. All the other games that are full and completed just it's just a waiting game and they need the people to come in and test it. They need the people to come against the bugs. And instead of quitting the game and going, That's it, I'm done, log it on the issue council. Let's try and push to get the game sort of like to a good state by testing these bugs. But then they go, We're gonna bring a new thing in. And I This is where my knowledge falls apart with the game is like they'll they'll have everything sorted and then they'll bring in a mission that knocks everything out of whack again and you see bugs that you had three or four years ago resurge into the game. So what how has that happened? So even we are like to and fro from it, but I think it's really important to remember this is a game that is still being built. It has never been done before. They are uncovering the track and the path ahead of them. And like, you know, I put I take my hat off to them. It's you know, it's not an easy task and things that are worth it never rarely are easy. One billion in Crown Funding kind of shows. I don't think anyone's arguing that though. I don't think anyone is saying that Well CJ said fix your game. I well I'm gonna caveat and get you to put your cat back on after you've tipped it with how you've done CZs, right? I love CZs. Yeah, how how much loot have you got out of the end rooms? I was doing them other night. Yeah, how much loot too in the end rooms. Yeah, quite a bit. Yeah, do. Because I've I've heard that the loot doesn't respawn in the exec hangers as well. But see, you've heard and I'm telling you that I was there the other night and it worked. Yeah, but I will trust social media. Eventually I got bumped off. I've got it in my inventory. How are you trusting someone you don't know across me who's sitting in front of you going, Bro, I was there orbituary three or four nights ago and I pulled on social media, it's true. I will put it on social media in a minute then. I I will go and get a screenshot of all my engine components and everything. I got power supplies, I got all sorts of stuff. And swanky is now dancing for those on ⁓ is someone subscribed? What's going on? I I said I said you you and me, let's go, right? So I've got NDB thirties, I've got Neutron Cannons, I've got Firal cascades, all from the orbituary end room. What I don't have, however, I put my hat back on. What I don't have is key card number four, because I put it on the elevator and sent it down, and I fully expected to see it in my inventory. It didn't appear, and I thought, okay, next time I log in it'll be there, and it's still not there, so I need to repeat this the C Z. But the components were the components of. The components did respawn. Okay, so pick on the components. I'm oversharing maybe here, but yeah, so that was experience I had. Yeah. ⁓ so obviously contested zones still got a bug in it. Key cards don't go down the el freight elevator. The contested zones came out of four point ⁓ we are almost on four point ten. So you admit the four point ⁓ release now? No. You just clip it, clip it, clip clip it, three point two four. It's the two seconds where he said since four point ⁓ released, it's now four point Yeah. I missed I missed the ⁓ the ⁓ what is it called? The the patch beforehand. ⁓ the it's three point two, four point, four point zero. ⁓ sounds like an IP address now. But ⁓ It's just one of those where like you say that the content the content creep and stuff like that, the the feature creep and stuff is is constantly pushing. And and I understand there's different dev teams and there's different people, like the people that make ships can't fix the transit system. Although, Dan, you need to learn coding because if you can fix the game code, then you would be the entire vehicle art team and the the entire game engine team. But at what point do you maybe s chill on features. Well I think our time is about now. I think we have it should have been last year. At the the year of what is it year of playability. And it got worse throughout the year. It should have been last year. I I felt it got better throughout the year for the year of playability, to be honest. Like as in the Yeah, it genuinely did. I I my my personal experience, again being like I don't have a hat. All I've got is this my eBay parcel, but luckily my address is blurred out on the top. ⁓ lucky. Yeah. The blur's here, this is fine. ⁓ for me, yeah, for me it got better last year and it was better. But then I think they got like complacent and then said, Well, I'm not complacent, I guess. You you you get lulled in by not a false sense of security, a sense of security, don't you? And they go, Yeah, exactly. Like ⁓ so someone in chat for those listening has just said when they stop doing what they are doing now, which is adding new things. Yes. I mean, the problem is they did eventually have to add things back in. ⁓ but it's at what cadence do they do it, at what speed do they do it to ensure that it doesn't then come at the detriment of others, you know, at the detriment of the people who are currently playing the game. ⁓ I think it did get better. And I mean, going to it like we did the what is it, the the the Kessel run. We did the joint task force groups. Tactical strike groups the other night. That was that went really well. I really enjoyed that. It was good fun. We had engineering experience. We had multiple bits of gameplay. People got to do the got to do the run. It was great fun. ⁓ you know, and we had a great ⁓ I felt like we had a great night of gaming. A couple of people had issues, but me personally, I didn't have any issues for the evening. Not with the game, not with any part of and same GFA. Like and and you know, sometimes I'm looking online and I'm seeing people be like and and even in the chat now, people are like, Well, I haven't had any issues. It can be very individual to people. There have been times where I haven't been able to enter the game, there's times where I've played it a lot. But I think they need to find that balance somewhere. Yeah, sure, things need to come in because they need to get to one point ⁓ and there's lots of stuff that needs to come in for that. But at the same time, they need to make sure that the the people they got who like the game stay and can still play in the meantime. And I I I mean, again, like Wanduck said, hats off to them because that's gotta be a really difficult line to to to tow, really. Yeah. I'm gonna take us back a few minutes. I think the proof is in the pudding when you say like the game got better last year. Twenty twenty two to twenty twenty four. If you're trying to use money to say a game got better, it means nothing. People got ships. Okay. That's basic. That's that's what it is. That's this year. That's we're not talking about this year just yet because the year's not complete right. But you had to keep people incentivized in the game. And I personally feel that because the game did get better again, maybe this is just my belief, but because the game saw a marked improvement, people felt more willing to spend their money on ships. Yeah. I think that's a fair assessment. No, last year was a really good year. Like I actually think it did get better and the game the game had so many events and most for the most part they did work. Not all of them, the freight elevator one with the safe standard was diabolical. The rest of them are pretty good though. They yeah, they all had their minor bugs, but most of them you could actually do from day one. And I know that because I did them for videos and for live streams and stuff. I actually did the event in day one and it worked. So other than the freight elevator one. I think the game was really playable last year and it did get better and it was more enjoyable. And I think the the player retention 100% it went up, and that's clear in the funding and in the actual ⁓ I think Jared did the stats at the end of the year and said it's the the player counts and the average play session is up so much because we had statics ⁓ meshing and all sorts and 30ks for the most part are gone. I haven't had a proper one in a while. That being said, this year has gone the other way. I would say this year has gone backwards and it has become less playable and more buggy and more frustrating than it did last year. And last year I was willing to play the game every day. This year I'm struggling to boot it up because it is so shockingly bad at the moment. ⁓ and it has been for months. I would say that I am baffled about the funding this year. I know the Odin is that big yellow bar. The rest of the year has been so bad, I don't know how they've continued to make that money, essentially, is is is I I guess is my what I'm baffled about. Yeah. ⁓ I well what what other than the Odin, what ships were released this year? Yeah. Matei Ironclads. Ironclads. Ironclads, very popular, waited for for a long time. Starlight. ⁓ Grays, ⁓ Asher. Yeah. Yeah. Raylan. ⁓ somebody in chat brings up a good. So these are Bright Pitbull. ⁓ these are these are sorry, CJ. ⁓ but but ⁓ Wolf was Wolf your shit. Wolf twenty the twenty alpha wolf? Clipper this year. Clipper this year. So these are a lot of ships that actually either have been waited for and anticipated for a long time. The Clipper which just flew in and stole all of our hearts despite looking like a smacked rear end. You know. So that has maybe look, I didn't say there was anything wrong with a smacked rear end. It just looks like ugly. I hate it. This is why you no friends. It's not nice to say about CJ, Jesus Christ. No. ⁓ yeah, I think Yeah, I I I just I can see where they're going with it. I'm willing ⁓ you know, ⁓ I will read out what Hyperion is just. I think, and I'm not being an ad, but I think people are willing to continue to support based on the instability being b ⁓ being as it is because of the new things being put in. I think more people are willing to give them grace in that regard. ⁓ like when they bring base building in, if it's buggy or not, I'm I'm gonna Have a keep going at it because baseballing is what I've looked at for a very long time and wanted for a very long time in this game. ⁓ I'm excited for when finally drops. Yeah, me too. And the galaxy's coming out in a few months and I'm just with no modules though, apparently are here. No modules? With no modules is what the word on the street is. The galaxies coming out of modules is what I've heard. I don't know if that's I heard that literally last night at Bar Citizen. So I don't know how true that is. I'm regurgitating information I heard at Bar Citizen last night. Does it have to c you heard it here? GFA plays, clip it's canon. what wrong button, wrong button shit. Well I'm gonna s I'm gonna say this now though, considering we're on the the the topic of like funding and stuff. Jim, if they if they release the galaxy with no modules, it's I in my mind that's gone straight for they're rushing it to get it out and they can't find it. And they're not a dev, so before anyone starts reading too much into that. Yeah, it's just another backer. It's Chris Robert. Yeah, not a dev so I heard the eight night is getting submersible gameplay, so this is so far down. Dan's gonna appear in the chat right now. Yeah. Fine. ⁓ I'm gonna take it. It's it's one of those things where like the real heroes of the s of star set as an NCIG aren't the people working on the game, it's it's the backers. they have generally so much patience. So much patience. There is not another game where the community has enough patience like surrounding the development process at all. I think that's a project. I think this goes back to what Ethan just said. It's because it's such a ⁓ ambitious project that people are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. If it was if it was like Call of Duty taking fifteen years to build it, people would have clocked out years ago. It's because it's such a big project. And it could be the best game ever made if they actually pull it off. It's a pr it's a Project Hail Mary. Star Citizen is a Project Hail Mary. It really is. I think as long as when they release Squadron and they focus on Star Citizen for a bit. We know they ain't going to do that. We know they're going to start working on the next game. And they probably already are. They almost definitely already are working on another game already. but if they actually focus on the the verse and have the h entire dev team just focus on something for a little while and you know, stop being predatory with the market I know businesses revolve on money, but if they stop being predatory with the the marketing, they actually listen to the community, do what's needed. Have a boring year of development. And I know it's not good. It's like Chris. It's like business suicide. But if they have a boring year where they can just, you know, focus on the things that actually matter, ⁓ then basic gameplay features, like not falling through the ground. I'd like I'd like to hope that with when Squadron comes out, because they'll already have like the base, if you know what I mean, you when you look at other things like when they did the Perseus, they based the stuff off that off of the Polaris, et cetera, et cetera. 'Cause they'll already have what they have done to create Squadron forty two. Hopefully, with the next iteration of it, they go, Cool, well, all the base stuff is already here. We're just then advancing it to the next chapter. Hopefully, then it means it's not as resource heavy as needed to advance that. And instead they can go, Yeah, we can dedicate a portion to come back to the PU because we have the base there already. Like, I mean, God knows why it's taken them so long for GTA six. I mean, they had GTA five already. Idiots. ⁓ but they also had a full studio of people, an engine to work from, thousands of employees, billions of pounds. A concept to work from, a genre, ⁓ they had ev all the blueprints they needed to make GTA six and they've been in the works for the same amount of time. Yeah. I don't think Star Citizen gets enough flowers for that, by the way. I agree. Fourteen years is not that long when you look at how many other games have started off with a full studio of a thousand people and everything at their fingertips to make the exact same game they made. last year and they do 14 years development which is GTA six. I just I just yeah, I think Star Citizen had to build a studio. They had to they had the Lumberjack problem. They had to had they had a lawsuit with Cry Engine and they had to make their own star engine of based off of Lumberjack. All of those issues, they had to build a whole studio. Like there's a lot that's gone into I mean the actual development of the game has only started really in like the last seven years. Really. Because of all the other issues they had to figure out and fix and before that. So it's not really that long. But but feels it. It feels it when you're in it, don't it? It feels it when you're in it. And it's just it's the predatory marketing to get people to pay money. They're still selling dreams and JPEGs. I mean not JPEGs anymore, concepts are done, right? But they're still selling the dreams, like the videos of like this ship can do this and it's a really epic video, and everyone's like, Yeah, I wanna do that in Star Citizen. And you log in and your head goes through your eyes and you die, and you're like, ⁓ maybe I'll come back to this when it's working. I think that's the that's my issue with it is the honesty around it is is troubling. There are there are bits, aren't there? There are bits that the way that they go about doing certain things. I mean, there was the whole flight blades thing. Goodness me, that was a debacle, which they've kind of touched on and and skirted around again a few other times. ⁓ and just a few bits in boss where we looked and we've gone, mm. Really? Was there anyone who has an idea or of being a backer or being someone who plays who looked at this and went, This is a good idea because it's not and the whole community's come back at it. They sold some though, so it kind of nullifies the point. Build a bridge, they will come. Like people came, they spent money and then they complained. And it's like, ⁓ this is print tree, but I still bought it. Like why? Why did you buy it? Vote with your wallet. Vote with your wallet. Didn't like one of the people that worked for like EA s get get signed and start working for CRG and then like not long after that it was all the microtransactions and all that. Show me the proof become a thing. There's so many devs that like show me the proof. There is obviously I remember the video coming out saying about this as well, the person that was working on sort of like loot crates and stuff. It's like we don't have that. We do not have loot crates. Cosmetics are fine. Give me loot crates. Cosmetics are fine, yeah. Sell every cosmetic you want. I don't care if you're selling skins. Just don't sell gameplay or any progression to skip gameplay to get an item. If it's Which I argue the ⁓ the patch bundles are progression to skip gameplay. Yeah, if there was they're gonna sell the heavy armour, aren't they? With the big mini. Yeah, they will, yeah. They definitely will. But they've sold the main feature every single patch. ⁓ no. Palantino armor that you got from a certain thing, they sold a variant of it. And everything armour going backwards. Everything you're saying is fine. There was one example I can pull out that wasn't in regards to like the patch bundle, and that was where you had the the radiation armor which you had to earn through the the mission to be gain access to the next phase of it. Yeah. And with that patch bundle you could literally go straight into phase two. And I was like that's the radiation. I I was like, well, why? Like I had that bundle. I was like, I'm not using that though. I'm gonna go and I'm gonna do it properly. I've fucking bought it. I loved the skin that came with. If I remember right, it was the the C one. I still have not purchased a plat a patch bundle, and I will never purchase a patch bundle. I've only done a couple I refuse. That three. I refuse. Well last year I bought every single one when they came out. And then at the end of the year, they were like, ⁓ yeah, in case you didn't buy them, you can buy them all again. And I was like, ⁓ so what's the point? Like that cheapens. That cheapens a lot of Yeah, so now I've not bothered buying them. I've bought What one there was one I haven't bought the buy them as well. This last now the rule of call still applies. Like if you look at it and I go, I like the look of it, I'll still buy it. But when the super heavy armor comes out, I'm I'm gonna buy it. Because I now don't need to do the main gameplay loop that they're releasing for that entire patch because I have the armor. And they will sell it. Just do a bunker run, mate. There's gonna they're they're at the bunker go down to a bunker, take you five minutes and actually get to play the game. Yeah, but you'll fall through the elevator or you'll get one tapped by like AI that's n hold his hands up but doesn't even have a gun on him or something like that. Or you'll get your armour and it'll just like f clip off into nowhere or something. ⁓ I would much rather just buy it one. Has there been a patch bundle yet where you've loved the armour and the ship? Yeah, the Elysium one. With the cutlass. The cutlass, yeah the pirate that's probably the only one I can think that is probably the one. Let me have a look. Yeah. I I really quite like the latest one, if I'm being honest. Yeah. Yeah. Really quite like the latest one. To go back to what CJ was saying, was like he's bought them throughout the year and then he's seen them all on sale. Have you bought any since? Yes. Okay. That's nullify my next point because I was thinking it's cheapened the experience. If like it has they're no rare. They're not rare anymore because you can get them at the end of the year and they're all available for sale. If they repeat what they did last year Yeah. If anything, if they skip it this year, people will be ⁓ no, I didn't buy this patch bundle because I thought it's gonna be available during IAE. And ⁓ no, and then they go back to buying them. But otherwise it's like, well, what's point? I can just buy it later. I I want exclusivity. I want things that when other people start during one point ⁓ I go and hey. Yeah, you want the fle you what you want the the reward, you want the fruits of the labor that we have all put in supporting this project for so long. You know, I saw ⁓ ⁓ somebody in chat put in before they should redo like the subflare and things like this to make it and the rewards for for example many of us in this call have spent money on this game and reached certain levels of doing so and other than CJ who is shaking his head. Yeah. Yeah why ⁓ why should they? No, what what they've already built a system. ⁓ I'm at the end of that. I've completed that, but why should they make another one? There's benefit for ⁓ if they do, because it might re it may re incentivize people like myself to go, do you know what, actually, I might buy that ship because I might ⁓ I'm so close to that next tier that I'll do it again. But where is they did it with the f ⁓ the referral codes and that was less of a blow. If you do it with people now who spent twenty five grand and they're going, spend five more and you're getting another suit of armour, people would be like, No, no, I'm done with this. So I can understand why they have left that one to the back burner. I do. I don't think add extra tiers. I think refresh the tiers below. Because I think sure because then they're giving away stuff. They are they are giving away stuff, but then they're also a bad business decision. But it also will incentivize other people who aren't at that point yet to get to that point. That's that would be my my point. But it also then it then curries favor with the people that they already know are willing to spend money on the game. They said they're going to. I I would not expect to see any changes to Just just because. Just because a new ladder. Yeah, just I just because I reckon they won't do they won't change anything with the old one. They'll just do a new one like they did with the referrals and it'd force people to spend another twenty grand on the game. But I think it just I think it just you know, you get to having spent five grand on anything. On anything, right? It it like for example, ⁓ you put five grand into a a Kickstarter for something, you could expect quite a bit in return. For that level of investment. And I get sure five grand in this and with the amount that they've had is a drop in the ocean, but five grand is five grand. And to get something which, if you look at the cost of a patch bundle, is probably no more expensive than ten or fifteen quid in return of like, sure, here's your thing. Twenty five grand though is a really good second act car. Well there you go. And new cars for that as well. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Or deposit on a house. I mean Yeah, wise decisions not gonna lie, even five grand, even five grand is a deposit on a house, right? You can do the the lower percent mortgages and stuff like that. Sure, that's my daytime job. But like that is huge money that can have huge implications on your life. And if you decide to do it for this, then it feels a little bit like a thanks for that. Here's your star for participation. And you go, Yes, dar, gimme something more. I want it gold plated. Give me a house. Yeah. Yeah. Start buying me a house in Manchester right next to the Nox. But yeah, so to direct us away a little bit from this, but back to patch bundles. Chat has spoken. Wait, wait, wait before before you announce before you announce what has chat said. Good old ⁓ Okay, the question is, CJ, why did you buy all the patch bundles? Someone who despises the game so much. Who are you by all the patch bundles? Where are you by all the patch bundles? Just in case someone is listening, I don't despise the game so much. Before before that, like I do hate the game, but I enjoy the project. I like the game engine. I like the the the the development process. ⁓ the game is us, a hundred percent. ⁓ but I bought the patch bundles and I had a look. ⁓ there's the the last one I bought was the ⁓ red red line, the red line one. ⁓ which was the wolf skin. I didn't buy it for the wolf skin, don't care. Chips up. ⁓ but I bought it 'cause it's got the Mondas set in it. To get the Monday set you have to play certain gameplay loop to get it. So I'm basically just bypassing that gameplay loop because I don't need to do it. And then the one before that was the Gideon one. Gideon one was ruler cool. So yeah, that's it. And then ⁓ yeah, I only buy ⁓ if they are cool, which last year I bought them because they were only being sold for that period. And I didn't want them to I d I didn't want to miss out. The FOMO was what caught me last year. And now there is no FOMO anymore because they're just gonna announce that they're all gonna be released again. I'll just buy the ones I like. And at the end of the year, if there's any that I missed, I can just buy them again. ⁓ and I'm probably not gonna now because I've just I've kind of like wised up to the marketing department now and I haven't spent any money on the game in in quite a long time. ⁓ considering if you like if there was a scale on how much I spent over a period of time. I I spent like a bit on the game and that n that n that has now plummeted ⁓ to almost zero now. ⁓ throughout from this year. I haven't bought anything. ⁓ U T V. When's the U T V released? It was this year. This year. So that's I think that's the last vehicle I've I've purchased. As an LTI token. And it was literally as an LTI token because I was like, I'm gonna do it, support support my boy out. and yeah, it's just there. ⁓ I don't even think it is a I don't even think it is a U T V anymore. ⁓ but that's the last thing I purchased, other than one patch bundle. Do I intend on buying anything else? No. I've got Galaxy. Probably not gonna probably wait for that to be released. Apparently with no modules, according to some random backer. You're just running around in a big open, like 'cause even with no modules, there's no storage space other than in the butt end where the hanger is. So you just got a big you just got a ⁓ like an aircraft carrier hanger that you just be like, ⁓ I love me hanger. I can't put nothing in it, but I like running around it. Under maybe it is an undercover dev like undercover boss and he was just gauging the room to how we would would react if they did release it with no modules. I have incurred that at Corby Bar Citizen is no longer a a secret dev, actually a bit of a friend now. But yeah, at the time I didn't know who he was, didn't know he was a dev, like he was just there, just chilling. And then we saw him at the next Bar Citizen and we You must ⁓ But you're not C O G goes, yeah, I am. I was like, damn ⁓ it, man. Well, this is brilliant, man. Well, this is it. Like, going back to what's CJ's point, I haven't spent the only new money I've spent on the game have been the patch bundles. Because they're cheap enough that I'm like, I I'm not gonna miss that if I just put that to one side and purchase that right now. But for some of us that have spent enough on the game, by selling, like ⁓ melting my fleet, I can mess around with enough that if a new ship comes out, they're really like. Okay, sure, I can play around my fleet a little bit, but you know, the incentive to spend big new money on the game? Well, with baby upstairs that's not gonna happen unless it's something that's seriously impressive that I like the look of. Like I did with the pioneer. Yeah, yeah. I'm I'm on the approach where it's like I could probably allow myself to buy one or two games a month at this point of like disposable income that I'm happy to separate from. If I haven't bought another game that month and Star Citizen has something cool, like for example, I didn't buy anything this month and I got the the I I b I did a £10 Centaurian sub just to get the Echo Bot thing, whatever it's called, the little I w I I I want a bubble head. I really want to get some bubble heads. So I've I've I've done subscriber just for that. But I still haven't put a patch bundle and I w I never will unless it was like a really unique paint for a ship that I love. But I would be buying it for the paint at that point. ⁓ Do you remember that that one that had the cutlass as well? It was I think it was cutlass and it had that weird barcode, like really weird artwork on it. No. Now that you remember this. Try and find it. It was atrocious. ⁓ looked like a a bloody zebra or something, was it? Yeah. Yeah, I remember. Awful. Didn't go anywhere near that. Gladius. Spike says the Gladius. Yeah. The testud yeah, it was the Gladius. The Testudo one. I don't like the Testudo armor anyway. Don't like the armor. Didn't like that paint job. Didn't like that. Mm mm. Paint paint you can't earn in the game right now. If you could, I wouldn't be buying the paints. Yeah. But the armor. You can. I know you may not be able to get that specific skin of the armor, but there's always going to be another cool bit of armor. So, like another skin that works on the same armor. So I just I like to go and earn it. I'm like, what do I need to do to craft this armor or earn it through get blueprints or earn it in a mission or find it on someone? I'm gonna do that. I just it's just I want I want a reason to play the game, is essentially my point, which is why that's the whole reason I don't buy patch bundles. There's always a bit of armor that I find sick, the heavy armor of the minigun. I want it. Am I gonna buy it? Absolutely not. I'll earn it in game because otherwise what's the point? In that satisfaction of that will be Yeah. It's why I'm so glad like the ASD specific versions of the armor you can only get by doing the ASD missions. Yeah. I love that. I love that armor. I that's why AS I I will say ASD is probably one of my favorite things they've added. The ASD facilities. Like the mission things were there, everything to do with that. Like a mate of mine's gonna Get back into the game at some point this year. And I'm gonna wait for a good point. ⁓ but just wait for a right moment. But when I do, I'm so excited to show him the ASD facilities. Like he was he was playing up until 3.24. He played up until the the distribution centers came out. ⁓ and it was shortly after that that he just went, nah. Because he had that whole thing, he crashed out so many times, ⁓ everything wasn't working, etc. etc. ⁓ and he's been out of the game since then, using me to vicariously live through the game and waiting for a moment where he thinks now's the time I'm gonna get back into it. ⁓ so yeah, I'm I'm excited for that moment and the ASD facilities, ⁓ that and maybe the ⁓ Hathall mining lasers and ⁓ facilities. ⁓ definitely some of those things ⁓ be what I'll be showing him. Yeah. Keep him interested. I mean Last couple of minutes then. What what are we looking forward to? Because we're now into the pivotal sort of timeline now, pushing towards ⁓ Invictus This year. Yeah. Well, no, just just yeah, this year or in general. or if you've got the top of your head. Yeah. I I'm looking forward to phase two of these Star Citizen Squadron forty two invites going out. ⁓ I've seen the people online turning it down. I'm like, when's phase two? I wanna go. I'm free. I'm available, CIG. Let me go, please. The people that are saying they're turning it down is just purely for cloud. Is that why you've been saying nice things all night? I have not said all nice things. I ⁓ I'm very have a little bit of a the ⁓ a not a hot take, but an interesting one. My usual things I've spattered about on here a lot of the time. Base building, Genesis, etc. etc. Those things will be incredible and will make a big difference to the verse if they don't explode the entire thing and everything blows into a million bloody pieces. But ⁓ what I'm looking forward to as well is them developing the core of what the game will be. For example, the storyline that they're talking about. You know, you join the game, how do I become a star citizen? You follow this story that goes alongside and and which is why I think they're bringing in the instance. I spoke about that a couple of weeks ago. They bring those in, you can do this story, which takes you through how to play the game, how to do the different loops. And at the end of it, you become a star citizen, you get something. ⁓ and as long as that works and that is polished and gives you the experience of everything first, I think to get that right, they have to fix everything else. So if they can get that right and have that implemented, that will make a big difference. That's my take on it. I'd say you were saying that did shift my focus a little bit is you know, I've been watching a lot of YouTube recently. ⁓ when I've been traveling and stuff. And Detox makes some of the best content I've seen in game. Like inspiring you to want to go off piste and like get all your augmates together and create these sandbox activities and really do stuff in the game. But shout out to Active in the Verse man. Like that guy has made me excited about things that I'd forgotten about. And he was talking about NYX one and how it's going to utilize Genesis and then I would always say I'm really looking forward to baseball and I'm looking forward to having a tangible like place and an actual activity in the game and something to work towards. He made me excited to want to do that, but on next one. So I'm really looking forward to base build now. Because of active. Yeah, nice. I'll give you mine in a very quick blue pro ⁓ bullet point list of the five or six things that I'm looking forward to. ⁓ squad of forty two, obviously. Roads, when they get road in. Base building, amazing. ⁓ trading, when we get proper player to play a trading such economy. Bounty hunting two point ⁓ and biome slash genesis. I need the swamp. I need the forests, that kind of stuff. When those things are in the game. That's where I wanna be, baby. I wanna go shrug Shrek swamp snake hunting. As soon as that stuff's in the game, then this is an environmental game to me. I don't know, isn't it? We were sat there at Citizen Corn in Manchester, we're going, ⁓ this is so sick. the swamp The detail with this guy trudging through it and it's like and there's gotta be swamp valakat. Nope, nope, not doing that. No. He just disappears. You're like, nope, no. Don't go into long glass. And he's dead. ⁓ anyway. CJ, background to you, what's yours? The thing I'm looking forward to the most genuinely is four point some four. ⁓ but some sort of regression on the tier zero like looting. Like not regression, ⁓ regression or progression either way. ⁓ but I want to be able to take stuff off of people ⁓ and utilize it. Whether that's it gets bricked and you can't use it, and then you need to go to like a fence to then be able to like unlock it or something. But you shouldn't be able to lock armor weapons. I can maybe understand, but ⁓ I want to be able to ⁓ Take someone out in the contested zones and go, ⁓ he's got some sick armor on, he's got an ASD for thing. I'm gonna have that, stick it all in my bag, and then go and unlock it for myself. ⁓ that's genuinely like I did say that. I have not played the game properly since Luton one point ⁓ Like since since that stuff, I've genuinely not had an interest in playing the game. The only time I've been playing it is if I've been doing something with us, to be honest. ⁓ yeah, or or jumping on a random event or doing something nefarious. ⁓ and I will continue to probably play in spatters or do something nefarious nefarious stuff until they bring back some form of looting ⁓ and reason to play the game for me because that it that was it. I don't care about shit based combat. I like running around with guns and shooting people. It's really hard to hear you say all of these things and and say, Yeah, he's got a really valid opinion. When you were playing PowerWorld before you st before we just podcast. Powerworld's a great game. I wasn't playing PowerWorld. Were you not? Okay. No, I wasn't playing PowerWorld. ⁓ I know you ⁓ Chat Chat's gonna descend on me now. Power World is ace is Gridamas. Power World is good, they've just updated it. ⁓ load of updates. ⁓ I am looking forward to Valheim one point nine. Yeah. When I get it Uncle Malkey. Yeah. ⁓ Uncle Malkie, first of all, thank you. ⁓ for resubscribing at Tier One. Twenty. ⁓ It it broke. Swanky is going Swanky's gonna send you a special video after this. ⁓ but you can't bleep out these. No, it was ⁓ it says strangely I'd be happy with full lead full lootables than I am with the it's not an exploit bro method of stealing your gun now. Yes. I think I've said this before. When ⁓ Port Olissar? Was there back when the rings were a death sentence for anyone who'd never played the game before? My favorite thing, I'd spawn in just spawn suit, right? Sperm suit, sit there with my starter ship. I'd sit in it and I'd watch someone who's obviously started the game, bought the best thing they can, bought all the funky armors off the store, they take off, they through the ring, they explode. I go Let's get to work and just harvest it all. I had so many funky l bits of loot and gear and items and weapons. I literally got by sitting there with some music on or a video in the background and just harvesting the idiots who died in in Port Alzheimer's Rings. Right? Bring back looting. ⁓ it it gives you hours and hours of gameplay without playing the game. Like it's just free like entertainment. ⁓ and yeah, it's it's one of those where I would run around contested zones to find a random body that I didn't even killed. Didn't even killed, didn't even kill. And I've gone, ⁓ I like he's he's wearing like a butcher helmet. That's getting in my bag. ⁓ straight. Whereas now there's no point. I don't even look at anything like I just run through if it moves, shoot it. And that's that's it. There's no there's no gameplay anymore, really, in my eyes. But yeah, I mean just being pessimistic for pessimistic sake, I suppose. But I'm gonna go play games that I can actually loot someone on and and kill and that is part of the gameplay features. And I ain't gonna fall through the map. Hunt Showdown is the is the one. Showdown. Elite game. I'd say upgraders, but you can fall through the map on that. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ and to I'm gonna look into other alien ⁓ I'm gonna look into other space games. In the final minutes, when we're about to leave, I am probably gonna re download Elite Dangerous and I might have a look at like Eve. I've been tempted to jump back in Elite Dangerous and Eve actually, funny enough, you're saying that. I've done it actually Do Eve. Yeah, I've never tried either of them. So if we do want to, why don't we do a Quantum Dispatch portrays their origins and goes to a traitor episode, even. It's not portrays, it plays plays a working game, ⁓ whilst the fourteen years of development keeps on going. It's important to ⁓ the devs also play these games as well, and a lot of the inspiration is lent from games like this. So it's ⁓ it's healthy. It's healthy to play other games. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. You should play Lightyear Frontier. That's a good fun game. You just have to make a farm in a mech suit. It's pretty good fun. I'm gonna play Armor of Forger. That is also a great game. That's just Armor of Forgers. We need to play. Look at that dev process. You should all go and sign up to the the closed beta that's coming out soon for Warhammer forty thousand total war forty K and War Dogs. And And Dawn of War 4 is gonna be coming out soon. I don't think what Star Citizens is gonna get played. and if they can add too into the game, you can kiss goodbye to me for a long time. Is that I'm trying to think what the other game is now. What are you doing at? Let's play 20 questions and close out this episode. Yeah. 20 questions. Are you in speaking? Yes. Yes. I thought C Jones won answering these questions. Sorry. What? Are you in space? No. Would you like to be in space? No. When will you be in space? Never. Will you be in space? You're the worst in 207. Can you be in space? ⁓ Alright. Winner for Best Enjoy this year. Literally run the run It's gonna be Perseus, isn't it? Perseus, yeah, come on. It will be Perseus. Love that ship. Best ship of the game. Yep, Percy's first. Come on, Chief second. Ironclad third. Yeah. ⁓ Ironclad second. Ironclad second, M80 third. I wanna know what you think will be the winner and also what you want to be the winner. Perseus Persian. And what we know CIG will pick as the winner. When will you wear wigs? That's why that's what I that's what I was trying to do with CJ. I was I was getting around to it. Cool. And on that note I have to go to my wife a baby before she comes downstairs and castrates me. So Thank you ever so much for tuning into the Quantum Dispatch.
