Aly: Welcome to Passing Down Pride. We're so happy to have you. I'm Allie. I'm joined today by my brother Mike and my dad Mike. Thanks for coming, everyone. Mike: Woo Love passing down pride after a win over the Packers. Aly: Let's talk about first win in the division. How does that feel? Michael: It just feels right. Mike: I think it's still. Michael: It it feels right to me. Mike: Yep. It's how it should be. Michael: I love beating Matt LaFleur. Aly: Me too. Michael: I think I like beating all the other teams, I like beating all the other division teams, and I think we'll probably get into this later in this podcast, but Matt LaFleur is a punk and beating Aly: Yes. Michael: him makes me happy. Aly: I would agree with that. Mike: Same. Yep. Aly: I think beating Matt LaFleur might be one of my favorite things that we do Michael: Uh-huh. Aly: in the NFL. Beating the Packers and getting our first back to back win since I think week five of last season. Mike: Yeah, seventeen weeks in a row we've did win two Aly: Felt. Mike: two games in a row. Aly: This is a good. We need another one. We need to string together more wins, but this felt good. Mike: Totally agree. I think couple of things are true. We won the game and I felt good about where our offense was throughout the whole game. It felt like the offense of twenty twenty four, like all we have to do is get the ball back and I felt comfortable we were gonna score again. So I Michael: Mm-hmm. Mike: I r I respect Mike, you you gave me the insight as to why he went for it on our own twenty four yard line with five minutes left. And then what you said, Amon Ra said, and some other announcers said, the goal was, hey, we're gonna get the ball back. We're gonna finish the game with the offense on the field. And I respect that. I get that. And I felt good about where we were with that. The second thing is I did not feel good about aspects of our offense. I think we let the Packers stay in the game. They all NFL teams are flawed. Coach always talks about that. but we had an opportunity to dominate and we we missed it. Going into the half should have scored. We were right there. Coming out of the half we should have scored. I b I really believe those are two moments that the Lions are really good at historically. And we didn't follow through on those two moments. Michael: Yeah, there's a there's an article on Pride of Detroit that Jeremy Ricman wrote and in his podcast he he said he he did write it and he was being a little bit tongue in cheek. I'm looking down to reference it, but essentially the headline of the article was the Packers Were Lucky because there's a lot of national media attention that the Lions were lucky because of all the bad calls. And what he said was was the Packers were lucky to even be in the game because Mike: Yes. Michael: when you look at when you look at success percentage, which is a little bit of a it's kind of a it's a subjective stat, but a lot of of these advanced stat organizations they have success rate, which is basically is this did the play get you closer to scoring? Was it successful? And some There's different definitions of successful, but it often a lot of a lot of them are basically did you gain forty percent of the yards needed on first down, did you gain sixty percent of the yards needed on second down, and did you get a first down on third or fourth down? And you so you're looking at your success percentage. And the Lions success percentage was the the the difference between the Lions and the Packers' success percentage. was the second most in this entire week. And so what he was saying was like the Packers honestly were kind of lucky to hang around. The Lions fumbled that ball before the ha before halftime and fumbled immediately after halftime. and and so the Lions turned it over multiple times and the the Packers weren't frankly lucky because we were just kind of dominating. Mike: Yeah. Agreed. Aly: I would agree with that. I also think that the last two minutes of the entire game was a masterclass in coaching. Being able to watch them just hold on to the ball, especially coming out of watching the London game with the Eagles and the Jags, and seeing Michael: Yeah. Aly: the Eagles lose because they had not really planned what to do, and seeing Dan Campbell. control the game exactly the way he wants to control it. I really, really enjoyed. Michael: Dan talked Mike: I need Michael: about yesterday or the day before, about that fourth down decision he said I I watched six weeks of Jordan Love throwing the ball up and fifty percent of the time, getting a completion or a defensive pass interference. I didn't want to give Jordan Love the opportunity to go win the game. I wanted to give our offense the opportunity to win the game. And he said, So going for it, I thought that we were gonna get it. but we didn't, but I knew that we would have time to time to respond and have a rebuttal and still win the game regardless. So I thought that was it was genius. It was beautiful, I loved it. Aly: s Mike: Makes lot of sense. Yeah. Aly: yeah. Statistically we did better as a defense defending in the red zone. Mike: Yep. The defense really did Aly: So I take it. Mike: well last game. If I look at my overall the overall PFF grade for our defense, we were the number one ranked PFF defense last week. We were the number Aly: Really? Mike: three against the run, number seven tackling, and number three against in a pass rush, and pass defense was number two. So our defense has really been on the upswing in the last two games. And you can say well the one was Arizona, but they've have been you know, middle in. Michael: They just beat the Rams. Mike: Middle ish, right? Yeah. And Packers have been really scoring a lot as of late. So I was I I have been and then now PFS also has a a new beta program thing called overall team grade where they take in the factors offense, defense, special teams, tackling, all of that and the Lions are number one. Aly: I mean, I'm happy if we can just the fact that we got as many stops as we did against the Packers, and when I think about some of our games in the early weeks, going from that to real stops against real, really good Michael: Mm-hmm. Mike: Agreed. I was a little scared when Gibbs went down at the end of the game and kinda twisted his ankle, but everything's fine. We're good. he had a really good Aly: Yeah. Mike: game. I thought our offense got a little too cute at times. We we were pass defending really past blocking really well for Goff and I thought him going through his progressions, they couldn't stop it. So when we played those when we ran those cutesy screens and that type of thing, I thought those were a little bit needless. Just let Goff do his thing when he's not getting the pressure that they Th this could be different next game, I think. But I thought we got a little too cutesy in that. What did you think, Mike? Michael: Yeah, I definitely thought the same. I thought that our our secret weapon, not secret, but our best weapon during the game against the Packers was definitely let letting Jared Goff just go to work. And Mike: Mm-hmm. Michael: it really felt like they were firing on Gibbs and they forced a lot of negative plays. Even though Gibbs had a good game, there's a lot of times he was getting hit in the backfield. Mike: Yeah, I don't like that. Well I understand that. Michael: Or he wasn't getting hit in the backfield because he made their linebacker fall on his face without touching him, which is cool, Mike: Right. Michael: but we don't want that all the time. so I thought, you know, Jared Goff played a great game. In the second half, he got away with a couple throws that could have been interceptions for sure. he got a little bit lucky, but I was really happy just to see the way that the team stuck together to win that game, right? That that's a good team, it's a division game. It was not a must win, but it was it was, hey, we these are the games that we need to win if we want to start setting ourselves up for a division title. And so really happy about that game. I will say too, I do want to make a note about something. I don't I I think that this only matters on the margins. I don't think that this was the reason anything happened, but I think on the margins it matters. One is Dan Campbell's strategy when it comes to the refs and calls, he is very much generally you just gotta play through it, you gotta play well enough that those calls don't matter, calls happen all the time, and you just gotta rise above. That's basically what he tells the s the media. And that's what all the the team says too. A couple things about that that I really love, and and one was a conspiracy theory, which I love and I'm I'm just gonna go with was from the beginning of the week before we played the Packers, his first press conference, he gave the 50% stat about they're either completing it or getting a defensive penalty 50% of the time. And I read somewhere, I don't know if you saw this, Allie, but I saw somebody post that he did that on purpose to put the league on notice. that he didn't want this game to be all about pass pass interference. because Aly: Yeah. Michael: it was a nationally televised game, America's game of the week, 425. If you remember a couple years ago when the when the Lions opened against the Chiefs, and remember they kept calling that right tackle for he was jumping up jumping off sides because he's way back and he wasn't he was moving too quickly. Mike: Yeah, he was p he was p set up too. Michael: And then it be it became like a thing for the entire Mike: Yeah. Michael: season where the refs were watching that because tackles were leaving early to get a jump ahead of their the pass rushers. And I I read that people think that Dan Cable said that so the refs were watching that it wasn't just YOLO balls and they were just calling pass interference. I don't know if this is true. It probably just matters on the margins or matters none, but I'm gonna believe that it's true. It's really fun. Mike: I felt like there's a couple of plays that, when when it was all said and done I could see how that could've that that call could have gone either way. And we didn't get but they did not call a pass interference on us. Michael: But I will say too, th they also did not call pass interference on the Packers. There's a play against Tesla where Mike: True. Yeah. Michael: they did a back shoulder fade to Tesla and they clearly grabbed him. Was it egregious? No. Was it probably pretty consistent with the way they were calling the game? Yeah, which is great. I've I I would rather play a little bit more physical and not just have fifty yard penalties. and then Th this is the last part and this part I believe to be true. I don't think that this is a conspiracy. you have this team and th this is the way the Packers have been. Remember when the linebackers shoved a Lions like athletic training staff? Mike: Yeah. Michael: Matt Will Fleur freaks out on the sideline and then his team freaks out. And they are shoving and playing after the whistle, and to some degree I think that's like a you know tough nose football thing that can be viewed as something positive. But the Packers have had unnecessary roughness penalties a lot, and I think it's a reflection of their coach who loses his cool. Mike: Did you see the meme after the Lions drew the Packers offsides? Michael: Yeah. Mike: Where they played the music from the Charlie Brown. Michael: Yeah. Is yeah, is good. I liked it. Aly: I did, yeah. I saw that when they were all dancing. Mike: Yeah. It was totally like they were doing the it's like it literally looked like they had set up to do that. Michael: Yeah. Mike: But all right, so how Aly: Yeah, it Mike: do we feel about Minnesota, Allie? Aly: Okay, I'm gonna be honest. Michael: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. We did not talk about prank prank. Mike: yes. Good call. Sorry, my bad. Aly: BB was back. Mike: Mm-hmm. Aly: He got one interception. They played nickel, which was fun to see. Mike: Yeah. Aly: Upped the amount of man coverage successfully-ish. Mike: Mm-hmm. Aly: I mean, think we did a pretty good job against the wide receivers. Mike: Yes. Michael: Yeah. Aly: especially against a team that's so heavy on the pass. so I was pleased. I was excited to have him on the field, and I was excited that he got an interception. Now, I'm gonna be totally honest. I have spent the last two days really thinking about one thing and wondering why more people aren't talking about it, despite the fact that they may or may not even be Lions fans, which is Kirby Mike: Mm-hmm. What's that? Aly: Joseph practiced. Mike: It looked good. Michael: Hold on. We're not done about Brian Branch. Because there's one thing I have to say. Did you Aly: That's all I wanna talk about. Okay, let's talk about Brian Branchmore. Yeah. Michael: see the the clip the Lions posted where one of the players said that after Brian Branch made the interception, that's the loudest he's heard forward field? Aly: Yes. Michael: I I think what's fun about that is one, Ford Field gets loud. It is a relatively small enclosed space with a good team, and so it's been a loud place, a loud stadium. I think for for a Lions player who has played there to say that that was the loudest he has heard it is pretty great, is awesome. Aly: Yeah. It was just beautiful to watch. Michael: Yeah. Aly: I wish we could have made something of that because I think we ended up just giving the ball back after it. Mike: Yeah. Aly: but we love to see an interception. Mike: Yes. Aly: Okay, can we talk about the fact that Kirby Joseph practiced? Michael: He has practiced multiple times. Mike: You look good. Aly: They started the clock, he officially can come back at any time between now and twenty nineteen days from now. Mike: When Yeah. No nineteen. Yeah. What do we think? they typically let them run the whole Dan Campbell is typically pretty cautious. but he you know, he's been working hard for a year. He probably could come Aly: Yeah. Mike: back any time. Aly: We weren't sure Mike and I talked about this at the very beginning that we weren't even sure Kirby Joseph would ever come back. Mike: I know. Yeah, people doubted him. He did not like that. Aly: And I think that was I think that was common. Mike: Yeah, I agree. A lot of people were saying he would never play another NFL Snap. Aly: Yeah. Mike: Yep. Aly: Kirby Joseph coming back. If Kirby Joseph is able to come back and play at the level in which he played in 2024, 2025 he went out early. And even then you could argue he was injured for the last few games he ended up playing. He played six games in 2025 and got three interceptions. Mike: Whoa. Yep. Aly: I want him back. Mike: It's like it's like we made a trade. Once he gets back, we're Aly: That's how it feels. Mike: getting better. Do we want to talk about Aly: Yeah. Mike: the big trade or do we want to move on to the Minnesota bike? Michael: I think first we gotta talk about the trade. Trade slash rumors and then Vikings. Mike: Okay. Aly: Sure. Mike: I'm interested to see what you guys think about mortgaging the future that the Bears just did to add to the defensive line. A thirty year old all pro, probably you know, in the conversation for a Hall of Fame type of career. but two first rounds and a third. I mean, that's Matthew Stafford type numbers. Michael: Mm. Mike: What do you think? Or is it two first rounds and a fourth, was it? I forget. Michael: Two first rounds and a fourth, and then they are getting Jeffrey Simmons and a fifth. Y I think and this is gonna be a cop out answer, you you just don't know, right? Because there are teams who have made moves like this, you know, and I think about the Rams who have gone all in multiple times and they got a Super Bowl. you know, think about the Eagles who's made a couple really big moves and they've been really successful, really, except for this year. and then you could also look at the Colts. Who essentially gave two first rounders for Sauce Gardner a couple of years ago, and he's been bad since they got him. I think it's less about mortgaging your future for a player. It's mortgaging for your the future for a player who you're not sure is gonna fit exactly the way that you want. and so I see it. I it's great. If the Lions did it, I would be anxious, I would be nervous. I think if you there are good players available for third, fourth rounders. they're not Hall of Famers, right? They're not all pros necessarily. But this is a real risk. I think there's a real risk for the Bears. I think they're going all in on Caleb Williams being on a rookie contract, because once he's off his w rookie contract, but I mean there's a reason there's just as good of a shot that the Bears get really injured and kinda limp to the finish line for this year compared to make a Super Bowl run. There's a chance that they do and I think they're talented enough to do it, but there's just as good as good a chance it falls apart versus that it comes all together. Mike: That's fair. Allie, what do you think? Aly: Yeah, I agree with that. I do think Caleb Williams is the kind of quarterback that feels like a franchise quarterback for the Bears. I mean I as annoyed as I am with the Bears and the fact that they have Ben Johnson, I don't have the same amount of strong negative feelings like I do about the Packers for whatever reason. well, because they don't have Matliflor. So I I think that there is an argument to be made on why not us this year. Why not this year? they made a couple of trades over the summer. They really stacked their team in a way that I think Ben Johnson wants it set up. I think they've been playing really competitively. And I think if you look at the NFC North, if I'm Ben Johnson, I'm looking at the NFC North going, The Packers are inconsistent, the Lions have been inconsistent, and the Vikings seem to be on this hot streak that I think is going to end at some point. So why not this year? And so Mike: Yeah, I think I agree. I think that's a great analysis. I think the the NFC North is open to any team in the NFC North at this point. and I think the team that is leading it right now will end up in last place. Aly: I would not be surprised. I I find, although I'd really like Kevin O'Connell as a head coach, I love Mike: How do you? Aly: Brian Flores as their defensive coordinator. I think that they've got a great culture over there, but it's a lot of pressure to put on an offense that's like pretty mediocre. Mike: Yeah, unless they're well, let me rephrase that statement. Unless their offense changes, and typically by week six you kinda know who you are, but unless they change, and they have some really good they have some a lot of talent on the offensive side, but they just can't put enough Aly: Yeah. They need a better quarterback. Michael: Mm-hmm. Mike: points on the on the board to win consistently, I think. And th up until this point, I believe that they have not beaten anybody of consequence. They beat the Bears in a monsoon when Caleb Williams got hurt. they beat the Packers who were kind of struggling early. and then since then they've beaten who? Aly: Holts. Mike: The Titans, the Dolphins, right? So they're going through time will tell. I could be proven wrong over the next four weeks because they have a juggernaut of a scheduled schedule. They gotta play us. They also have to play the forty niners. They have to also have to play Seattle and they also have to play the Bills, right? Do I get that right? That's Aly: It's gonna be hard. Yeah. Mike: a juggernaut of a schedule. But now let's move on to next week. What are we thinking about the Minnesota Vikings at home? Michael: I'm really excited. And let me tell you why. First is Aly: Tell us everything. Michael: I'm really excited for a nice sweet sweet one PM game. Aly: Is it at one PM? I didn't realize that. Nice. Michael: Sweet, sweet 1 p.m. game, which I love. I think there's a couple things I'm looking for, and this is just based off my analysis, which take it or leave it. I do wonder, I think there's going to be a couple curve balls formation-wise from the Lions to essentially be, you know, combat the intense pressure that the Vikings play with. Right now they are, if you watch. Dan Campbell's press conference, they're blitzing 85% of the time. 85%, which is just insane. I think that this is going to be a big game for Sioni Vaughy. I think they brought him in and they want him to play in in specifically this game, because last year they were able to take Jameer Gibbs out of the game by blitzing over and over and over again and making him go into pass protection. instead of going out to make plays with the ball and he got ran over multiple times. Siony Valky is a big back that we want to do pass protection and I think it's going to be a really big g big game because if he can stop their double A gap blitz that they love to do, where they mug the mug up front and they you know create all these mismatches. If we can show that we can we can match that that will make it harder for them to continue the blitz. And so the beginning of the game's going to be really important to see what is our counter to their pressure. And if we can show that counter, I think that we'll have a really good shot to kind of take over this game because of their ineffective offense. Aly: Who has historically done well against the Viking splits? Michael: Jared Goff. Aly: Great. Mike: Well not last year. Michael: With the Aly: Not last year. Michael: with the exception of last year, Jared Goff has been one of the better quarterbacks against a blind Brian Flores defense. Mike: And last year we had a thirty first ranked pass protecting offensive line. Did you know that? It was bad. Michael: Yeah. Mike: It was bad. And go and Goff was still a top five quarterback ranking. Michael: Yeah. Mike: I rewatched the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Minnesota Vikings last year. I wanted to see how the Steelers, who don't have a dynamic offense, were able to beat them. And they were able to beat them by running the ball. They got their running back at ninety nine yards, right? Michael: Mm. Mike: And they also and they also wanted to choose a quarterback who was yeah, I went and watched the Chargers first, but their quarterback was running all over which we're not gonna do, so that's not a really st a strategy we can implement. Aaron Rodgers is not running all all over anybody. but there are the times when Minnesota got cute and dropped everybody and only rushed four. Aaron Rodgers picked them apart. So we've got it, though that twenty to thirty percent of the time they don't blitz, we have got to make hay as well. That's the time where we can hit the big one the big ones. We should we should not be settling for less than an explosive if they're not blitzing. Aly: And if they are blitzing and they're creating all of these mis mismatches, theoretically, if our pass protection is good or fine and can give Jared Goff at least two seconds, then he can get the ball out to somebody. Somebody's open. They don't have enough people on the field. Michael: Yeah, and I'd be interested, I think I might go back and watch a couple Viking games from this year, but the the magic that they have, which is really unique and really i it's hard to replicate, is when they blitz, they bet that they know where you're gonna try to go and they go cover Aly: Yeah. Michael: it. because they know you only got a couple seconds. Aly: Yeah. Michael: if that And so they go where they think your check down's gonna be and they create chaos. Aly: I do wonder if because I don't I don't know a ton about other teams. I know some, but it feels like on the Lions offense, we have a pretty deep bench when it comes to receivers between our tight ends and our wide receivers. And then we also have Gibbs. But we've got Jamison Williams, St. Brown, Tesla. Laporta, we really could go anywhere. And I do wonder if that makes it harder. Versus everyone knows Mike: Right. And all of are really good. absolutely. Aly: that step one's gonna be Justin Jefferson when the Vikings have the ball. Everyone else is second. Mike: Agreed. Yeah, I think that's gonna be big. I think Gibbs we still have to have Gibbs run the ball. We have to be Aly: yeah. Mike: and we our offensive line cannot give negatives on the run. We have got to be able to for some reason we're really good and and consistent in in when our when Gibbs gets out in space, he can create not the he hasn't gotten really explosives, but the eight to ten yard run. And then we got we're like leading the league in negative runs. I don't understand how those two things can be true, but they are. Michael: Yeah. That's gonna be really big against the Minnesota Vikings 'cause if we get off schedule, that's when kind of the the sharks smell blood. But I'm really looking forward to this game. I think if we go through this stretch and go two and I think we're we are vaulted to the top of the NFC, we're vaulted to the top of the North for sure, and we become a real Super Bowl contender. Obviously Aly: Yeah. Michael: being a Super Bowl contender is not the same thing as being somebody who's actually in the Super Bowl. but I think we have a real shot against Minnesota, and if we win this game, it really sets us up nicely. going into the second half of the season versus losing this game would be one of those games we look back going, man, if we could have won that game, we would Mike: Yes. Michael: have been we would have been in first place instead of second. We'd be in this seed instead of that that seed. so I think Sunday's a really big game. It's at one o'clock. It's the first day of November. I'm gonna be living my best life. Aly: We're gonna have soup. Michael: We're gonna have soup. It's gonna be great. Aly: It's gonna be great. It's gonna be a great game. I'm gonna wear my B B jersey. Michael: Obviously. Aly: Obviously. Mike: beep. Yeah, I think over the next five weeks as I look at this, actually seven weeks, if we can go five and two, I think we'll be great. I think we've got the Dolphins after the Lup the Vikings, the Patriots, the Buccaneers, Bears and Falcons and Titans. We and we could go better than that, but five and two would be a worst case scenario. Aly: Yeah. I'm looking forward to it. I think it's gonna be it's gonna be a fun game to watch. Yeah. Mike: Yep. I think one thing that we haven't talked about, spoken about, is the addition of Carter as our return man. He had a couple of fall he he stumbled when it looked like he was gonna break a big punt return and a break a big kickoff return. And he even mentioned he left some yards on the field. So I'm really excited about that aspect of the game as well. Because Minnesota gave up a couple of big runs in the games that I was watching from a f a special team's perspective. Aly: Yeah, having a good special teams I think matters a lot. Who ended up being the person that got the two hands on the blocked field goal from the Packers? Michael: DJ Wannem. Aly: That's right. Michael: Did you guys see speaking of special teams, did you guys watch the Jake Bates on the Saint Brown podcast yet? I he was great. It Aly: Absolutely I did. Mike: I did not. Cause he Michael: it was a it was a it was a fun interview. I thought it was really fun. It really felt Mike: god. Michael: like and I mean this is kind of Jake Bates' aura from the beginning, that he was like he was you know, mid tier soccer player in college and he just kinda kept going, kept going until somehow he's the kicker on the NFL team, which is just crazy. I really liked how he's when he transferred to Arkansas. He thought he was going somewhere else to be a place kicker and then he ended up going to Arkansas 'cause they called him. And he went to Arkansas when they had a freshman all American. Who's Cam Little, the kicker right now for the Jaguars, the guy that made the 70 yarder a couple weeks ago. And I loved how he was like, it changed my life because he made me a better kicker. Mike: Yeah. Michael: And he's the one that taught me how to be a place kicker, and now I'm doing this. And so for him to be like, I went for a place kicker opportunity at a smaller school, but then I decided to go to Arkansas where I always wanted to go, but I never actually was a place kicker, but I just spent time with a guy who's one of my best friends and he taught me how to be a place kicker. Really cool. Yeah. Mike: that's smart. Yeah, that's outstanding. Michael: Yeah. So it was a cool interview and he's just a goober. And I liked when he talked about his Aly: He is a goober. Michael: his his when he was rolling out his hip. It was Aly: His meme. Michael: me. It was it was it was good. I really liked it. And I really liked the him talking about his relationship with Jack Fox and Hogan Hatton. How they're just like buds and they play FIFA together while everybody else is in meetings. Mike: Ha ha ha. Michael: And I like I'll say that, a couple of years ago when I was in Detroit and, my friend and I went to a bar to watch the afternoon games. Jack Fox and Jake Bates and Hogan Hatton were came into the bar together when they were hanging out. And I got to meet Hogan, which I thought was really cool. Mike: That's cool. Very cool. Any predictions on the game? Michael: So for the Mike: Or Michael: Yeah, let's give a score prediction. This is fun. Aly: What do I think is gonna happen? I I almost want to give two answers. But I'm gonna go with my gut, even if I'm super wrong. Michael: Yeah. Okay. Aly: And my gut says it's going to be that the game against the Packers was an anomaly. And we're gonna go back to our 30 plus point offense. That Michael: Well, okay. Aly: my my gut is if we can figure out a way to exploit the blitz, we will do it all game. That those are really the only two options. We either can't figure it out or we exploit it all game. No middle. Yeah. Michael: Okay. So Yeah, no middle is what you're saying. Tell me what your score prediction is. Aly: So my score prediction then would be I think thirty two fourteen. Yeah. Michael: Okay. Mike: I got us twenty-seven twenty or twenty-seven eighteen, something like that. I think the Minnesota Vikings kick a lot of field goals. I think that it's gonna be middling for the offensive. We're gonna have a couple of really good drives and they're gonna have their wins. But we're also gonna have a couple of explosives. They're gonna Gibbs is gonna have a couple of explosives. but they're gonna they're gonna do what they do and They're gonna have their moments where they get to us, but we're gonna have our moments where we get to them, and our moments are gonna outweigh their moments as far as impactful. One sack versus Gibbs going sixty yards for a touchdown this year. Michael: Yeah. My s Aly: Yeah. What do you think, Mike? Michael: my score prediction is a lines W and I think Mike: Mm-hmm. Michael: it's gonna be twenty four to twenty. Aly: okay. So close game. Michael: Mm-hmm. I think it's gonna be a close game. yeah. I think it's gonna be a close game, but I do think the Lions are gonna win. Aly: Yeah, I hope do you remember the Vikings game, the wildcard game from twenty twenty four when we were both seventeen and one or something insane? Mike: Yeah, it was the last game season, Michael: Well they Mike: both fifteen and one. Michael: It wasn't the wild card game, it was the game for the division. Aly: It was the game for the division and the loser was going to Mike: Yeah. We were both fourteen and two everywhere, yeah. Michael: Yeah. Aly: Yeah, the loser was going to be a wild card Mike: Yes. Michael: Yeah. Aly: spot, which was insanity, right? But that's how it worked. Mike: Yes. Yeah. Aly: and we blew them out of the water. Mike: Yes. That would be fantastic. Aly: We made it look easy. That's the game I'm hoping we have next week or this Sunday. Michael: Okay. Mike: I love that. The fans are gonna be rabid, Aly: That's the game I'm hoping we're for. Mike: let's face it. And they swept us Michael: Yeah, I'm excited about that. Mike: last year. Aly: They did. Everyone did, except for the Mike: Yeah. Aly: bears. Mike: Except for the bears. We flip the bears. Aly: So that's what I'm hoping for. And now last prediction. When do you think Kirby's coming back? Okay. When do you guys think Kirby's coming back? Michael: I think he'll have he'll take the full three weeks, in my opinion. Aly: You think? So what's his first game then? Michael: we have the Mike: Dolphins next. And then the Patriots in Germany. Michael: I think he'll come back after that. Mike: The Buccaneers at Aly: So you think Mike: home. Aly: he'd play November Michael: I think I'll come back. Buccaneers at home. Aly: twenty second, Buccaneers at home? Michael: That's my prediction. Aly: It will bring him back in time for the Thanksgiving game. Michael: Yeah, I think Buccaneers at home. And no need to fly to Germany. Aly: Yeah. That feels right. Michael: That's what I think. Mike: I think I agree. If he comes back, I think Dan Campbell wants to see him play football. And you know, he didn't go through any of the don't forget, this isn't just him coming back. He didn't go through training camp or or anything. And he hasn't Michael: Yeah. Mike: and he hasn't for a year. So these twenty-one days are gonna be important for him. I think he waits until the very last day and then so I think he'll be back for the Buccaneers at home, I agree with. Michael: Yeah. What what Aly: Who's who's the spot that gets moved down to the practice squad if he gets moved up? Michael: I I don't know, it's Mike: Could be anybody. Michael: yeah, bottom Aly: Yeah. Michael: of the bottom of the roster type guys. What's your other prediction? Mike: That question actually leaves it Yeah. My li my yeah, what's your prediction, Allie? You didn't say. Aly: I I wonder if he comes back. I wonder if he comes back earlier and plays less snaps. That the negotiation he has with Dan is I wanna play, but I'll play less snaps as my way in. Kinda what BB did this week. Mike: put them on a snap gap. Yeah. It's interesting. So on that, we're coming up on a trade deadline. Do we make a move? Prediction. Michael: No. Aly: No, I don't think so. Michael: Nope. I don't think we will. I think at max we'll trade a fifth rounder for a guy, but I don't think we'll do much more than that. I think I I think there's two schools of thought. One is we have a window, let's trade and get a guy. And I think the other school of thought is we have a lot of really expensive players. We need really good player the more really good players we can have on rookie deals the better. And I think that that's where we're gonna be. Aly: I also am not surprised, I know this is conspiracy ish, but I'm not super surprised that they announced that Kirby's clock starts around the time people are going, Okay, are you gonna trade for someone? We have someone. Michael: Yeah. Yeah, we got somebody. Aly: We've just brought him off our own injury Michael: Yeah. Aly: reserve list. Mike: I think if you look at past performance, I think he makes a deal. he has made a deal for a cornerback just about every year, it seems like. Where we've gotten what's his name from Tampa that one year, a rental? Michael: Carlton Davis. Mike: Carlton Davis. I think I think we need at le if nothing else, we need a depth piece. so I I I think he's gonna make a move. And I think he might actually go and get the former Lion who's now playing for Washington. Aly: Robertson? Mike: Yeah, me Michael: Yeah. Ameek Robertson. Aly: Amique Robertson. Mike: You don't think he would think we would do that? Michael: No, I don't think W Washington would trade him. Th I think they just signed him. They want him to be a part of the team. Yeah. Aly: I don't think so either. He's performing really well. Mike: Yeah, he's not high high what what about the the the the Colter on a fire sale? Michael: Yeah, it's all about teams that are selling. So the Colts, the Bucks, Aly: Chargers. Mike: Cardinals Michael: Eagles. Mike: the Chargers. Aly: Chargers. Michael: Yeah. Mike: Do you Buddha Baker? Michael: fine, but I wouldn't give up more than a fourth for him. He's a great player, he's just not a player that we need. Aly: I who's Jack Campbell's partner? who plays opposite Jack Campbell most games? Michael: Right now the linebacker who's getting the mo most snaps is Derek Barnes outside of Jack Campbell. Aly: Okay. Derek Barnes is excellent. Michael: Derek Barnes sucks in pass pass coverage. Aly: Okay, Derek Barnes sucks in pass coverage. Mike: Mm-hmm. Michael: Yeah, he's not he he's a downhill guy but struggles in coverage. Mike: Despite his interception in the playoff Michael: Yeah, despite that. Mike: game. Okay. Thank you for joining Passing Down Pride. like and smash that subscribe button. It helps in the algorithm.
