Mike Schneider: ⁓ The pause. I'm thinking which one the pause. This pause, that's gonna be one of our first shirts. First merch just told the pause. The pause. It's just gonna be it. There's gonna be no other word, words on a shirt other than the pause. fucking really want to drink it but it's gonna burn a shit well that's why I'm worried like we're gonna go into this and be like ⁓ my god my dog All right, here we go. Welcome to the next episode of the Two Dads, One Mike podcast. My name is Taylor. This is Mike. we are back for some more mediocre content. We are also live on TikTok right now with all of our four friends. first things first, we always kick it off with a drink of the show. Mike, what do we have? are boiling lava hot. We are bringing out our inner Chinese baddie. Yes, correct. Cheers. Cheers to that. And what this is, and what the kind of theme of the show is, is... Viral health trends or or health trends some of them are are funny and weird We got lots of questions other ones. It's like well this kind of makes sense and I have a hard time arguing with Someone who who grows up in the Chinese culture because they generally look younger, older. Yeah, makes sense. So I'm not, can't knock drinking hot water with lemon. Right. Saying that, yeah, it does nothing. Cause whatever they do on a daily basis is better than what I do. Cause I look 85. Well, I'll tell you this has made me shit my brains out. Well, that's new. Well, mean, this seems different this time around. Um. Seems different. How so my digestion has been pretty decent lately. Let's talk about your shit No, not yet, so our drink of the show is literally hot water We got a little he got a electric kettle thing to bring out his inner Chinese Betty Boiling my apples and also lemons as well ⁓ there you go. So we've been really trying to go get you in, but we already started recording. No, it's fine. It's all good. Lemons are good. ⁓ So yeah, we, it's just hot water and lemon. That's exactly what it is. Nothing more. Nothing won't be shit faced by tomorrow morning. So cheers to that. If I can drink this without burning my tongue. I don't think so. No, there's no chance. So we're not getting close to completion on that one. That's what she said. You're welcome. Oh, anyways, so obviously you kind of covered long. you been sitting on that one? Oh, at least for a minute. At least for a minute. At least for a minute. So anyways, we are going to go into health trends and the do's and the don'ts and what makes things so popular and whatnot and kind of go into the whole viral Chinese baddie trend. Which is being which you are embracing. ⁓ I'm fully embracing it when the minute I came across my FYP I'm like this is it Yes, absolutely. ⁓ first off in case you haven't noticed We are not Health professionals. We are not professional really in any way. No We're just talking about these we're not saying these are gonna solve anything. They're not gonna do anything This is not medical advice. This is us talking about weird shit. Yes, agreed. Is what it is. So take that for how you will. But how did you, so how did you come across this? Good question. This ⁓ hot water. Yeah. Which sounds really, like it sounds really stupid, but you started thinking about it and you're like, ⁓ I mean, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So Sherry, who is the TikToker that. got me hooked on the situation, she kind of started the whole, well now you're Chinese trend, all right? And what that means essentially is, like, you are... Pisser pot I don't even think we can drink this yet. I don't think so. No, there's just no way. No, I tried, I got real close and it hovered right over. There's no way. ⁓ So anyway, so she kind of got everyone on this trend where, you know, like you learn about Chinese things to do. So one of the basic things, Chinese 101, was hot water and you could throw in lemon, apple, whatever. And then actually she would go into like, okay, well these are the benefits of doing hot water. So I mean, the analogy that was given was like, you your body is like an engine. You need to feed it like oil and all the stuff that the engine needs in order to, you know, get the car to move. Well, a similar thought concept here was, you know, hey, hot water, you drink it in the morning before you eat any food. It's supposed to get, you know, kickstart your stomach. and the rest is history from there. Well and just like washing your hands, washing your hands with warm water. Right, or doing the dishes with warm water. Or maybe it's just my perception that it feels like I'm getting stuff cleaner when it's warm water washing my hands. Better than cold. I don't know if that's true or not, but... No, there's actually a study about that where it's, you know, like if you wash your hands, just wash your hands compared to washing your hands with warm water, totally different. Like you eliminate 99.9 % of the germs. So then why wouldn't it be the same inside our body? Oh, right, exactly. Right. So what the warm water's supposed to do is it's supposed to break down all of the fat or the junk that can't make its way out. And it's supposed to break it down. And then you do your business. It hasn't worked on me yet. Well, you know what? But I just started today. This morning was my first... Eight hours ago or 12 hours ago. That's when you started it. Yeah. But yeah. So anyway, so then we kind of go into like what to add into your hot water, right? So you talk about lemons, you talk about apples. There's these goji berries or whatever that's supposed to be like a popular thing for like great antioxidants and whatnot. Has there been any in your extensive research? Yes. Has there been any talk of like turmeric And I have a friend at work who You might as not even try it. talks. is number two. We got to cheers. Yes, cheers. And we have a couple built up. It doesn't matter because it's just water. Yeah. But he has red and consumes turmeric and is supposed to help with inflammation of the joints and stuff like that. So they're big into natural remedies. essentially like... Food is medicine and all that stuff. So for us, for me, I'm learning about this, this is last couple of days. It's one of those scenarios where we're learning on the fly and we're just doing the basics right now. There go. I don't wanna over ⁓ here. You don't wanna bring out too much your- I don't wanna be Your Chinese baddie Right, yeah. Quite yet. There seems to be a lot of steps. Like if you were looking at like a rubric, like we're like the first section of the rubric. Lesson one. Yes, correct. Problem one. Right. But like I said, I mean, you know, I'm also learning about like how to clear your sinuses, how to, what you should take when you have a cold, you know, or do when you have a cold, know, stuff like that. So, I mean, I'm looking at this and you know, there's more benefits than just having hot water because there's a different perspective on actual medicine. And so, I'm just kind of taking it day by day. I like it. I'm here for it. I'm not here for every one of the topics we're going to discuss today. But I'm here for this one. I drink a lot of lemon water anyways. I've been drinking lemon water, but it's been cold or ice cold. I don't... I don't, I never thought about drinking it warm. Yeah. But it's good. tastes like if a tea were gonna taste good. Yeah. This is what it would taste like. Sure. Makes sense. But tea is trash. Well, I do like the occasional like lemon tea, know, honey tea, know, stuff like that where, you know, it's not overbearing. Green tea does not my thing. You know, iced tea, I'm not a big fan of. Yeah, I could do like Lipton green tea, or half green tea, half lemonade or whatever they do. Yeah. Like it's, I could do that. I can't do regular tea. Oh, that's still gonna be too hot for me. I'd like it. Oh no, that's... Is that better? It's scarier than what it feels like on the lips. Give us... Oh, my throat! I see what you It's right at that cusp. Like, ooh, it's gonna burn. The next pisser pot it should be better. It doesn't get... Yeah. That makes sense. So all right. So now that we kind of go on through the the Chinese viral trends here Let's get into some of the weird Stuff. Well, hold on what words were there any other trends? have you started looking at what next steps are like? What are you know? Yes. Yeah. No, I haven't gone into that yet Yeah, we're like I said, we're at where section one of the rubric ran out. Gotcha So we're just learning like so you don't know what's coming. I don't know what's coming next. I mean there's been There's been like tutorials on how to cook like certain foods. I guess, you know, I take that back. So there has been a few things. like warm breakfasts are supposed to be a thing because everything's supposed to be warm, right? Because your body again needs the fuel. I could explain a couple things because I eat a lot of cold shit. Well, right. Yeah. So they actually say like eating or drinking cold can actually really screw up your digestive system. Interesting. Yeah, and that's where all the junk and crap just literally sits and you can't get it out. ⁓ That's my constipation. ⁓ Sorry, I'm five year old child. Anyways. We're talking about poo. Yes, exactly. So but other than that, that's really like the most of it I've gotten into it so far. OK, so. ⁓ But I guess I want to cover, you know, more of these trends, because I think like health trends are a very dangerous road to go down. especially if you don't know what you're doing with it, right? So like, for example, let's just talk about enemas for a second, because we were on the topic. And we're jumping right in. We're jumping. Hiss or what? Butthole in. So. Butthole. First, like a cannonball, but skinny dipping, cannonball style. That's what we're doing. Yep. Yep. So anyway, so. Coffee enemas, all right? Let's just dive into it. We're not even, yep. So. All right, we're doing this. So like, to my understanding, based off of our conversation yesterday, it seems as if coffee makes it more come out, is this correct? Is this what I gathered? You asking me like I know. Look at what? I personally know. Off our conversation though. Yes, but then you're asking me like I've done it before. Never done this before. No, I'm sure you probably haven't stuck something up your rectum so far. I that stuff would come out like turbo poops. Well, that's what your wife was saying. Because just consuming coffee through the mouth can cause that. Could you imagine if we were hammered right now? That would not be good situation. Maybe we wouldn't be able to air that conversation. But I feel like injecting, because it's injecting, right? Let's just call it what it is. I feel like squirting that shit up there. feel like... feel like hiccups are back I feel like cannot be good for you. Do you know what I mean? Like even... I completely agree. A glorified enema, right? When I was younger, I had to get an enema. Yes, same here. Because, you know, I just was holding that shit in. It was just like whatever. And so like... I don't remember it, because I was so young, but I know my mom always loves to remind me of the situation. so, but anyways, I'm like, I'm thinking to myself, coffee, but then you talk about like a butt chug, right? you used to like, like wrecker on No, I don't. I don't talk about butt chugs. Oh, of course you don't. But I'm saying, if you talk about a butt chug, you're talking about people putting alcohol up there. So I guess like for me, when you talk about a health trend and the dangerous road you're going down, can't imagine that's good for you. No, it can't be good for you in any way shape or form. What I've heard... Through experience? No. I've only heard this. So you was Pissed or Bought? Pissed or Bought. Is that... That's bomb. Suppose I've heard about it with alcohol. Yes. That if you do that then like your body absorbs it so much quicker and like a lot stronger. So you would get the quote unquote benefit of alcohol and it's, you know, faster and like more intense. ⁓ There's no word that's gonna come up in mouth. More intense sensation. Sensation was one of the words I was thinking about, but I can't. So I don't know. don't like, normally we'd be like, hey, let us know. Like, we say to the people listening, like, hit us up at 2 Dads, 1 Mike. Send us your personal experiences. don't want to do that. Mike would specifically like photos if you know, I know that is not that never not once Not ever. All right, so we so we're in this shit. I'm everything about you so We we obviously understand we're on the same page when it comes to you. that particular trend. All right I don't get it. I don't either I really don't so now I mean I guess for the next one like have you heard of the carnivore diet? Yeah, so I've heard about that. So I feel like the caloric intake due to the amount of red meat, is that how that works? Well, so it's essentially cutting carbs. Right. Which from what I know, and again, I'm not an expert. I don't know exactly how this all works. You're a podcaster, though, so you're pretty close. Yeah, so I'm the next best thing. Yes. Because I have a camera in front of me. Medical. I have a microphone on. Piss or pot again. ⁓ And I'm talking so that makes me just as much of an expert as just yeah, exactly But no the carnivore diet as far as I know it it's a like you only eat meat Like no vegetables nothing like is just meat like you are carnivore and Like there's people are saying ⁓ yeah, you can have like a pound of bacon you can do all this you can eat anything meat yeah and it doesn't matter ⁓ where a lot of other diets or or like meal programs weight loss programs will tell you to eat less of that stuff you know red meat with high blood pressure and stuff like that and high cholesterol well isn't a good mix for that. But apparently carnivore says YOLO and we don't care about anything. I think what it comes down to is literally it doesn't matter which diet you follow. I think it's more once your body gets in that rhythm and what I've noticed with myself is like when you get in rhythm eating a certain way. Yeah. Right. So like there was a couple of years ago I ended up losing it was like 25 or 30 pounds and it was just one of those like I had this one thing for breakfast, like a breakfast sandwich for breakfast, but I didn't do it before work. waited till my break and you know, I kind of got in that routine for lunch. had like tuna, some crackers and some veggies. Like it, it was more of the, the routine. Yeah. My body got used to digesting those things, I think. And it handled it well. It liked that. Like my gut was better. Everything seemed to be nicer to me because I was following that routine. So I would say that it's something like that is more like, yeah, you could follow just about any diet and eventually your body will just be like, all right, cool. This is what we're doing. Outside of like the McDonald's only diet. Like that's not a thing. No, that's just diarrhea. This is just diarrhea. Speaking of which, so I've been fasting, intermittent fasting. And so essentially what I'm doing is, and I don't even know if I want to call it fasting, but I'm delaying the way that I start my breakfast in the morning. normally when I got into work, I get in work about 730, I would normally be like, okay, well, I'm gonna eat, my coffee, do my thing. And now I'll still have my coffee, but I don't normally eat until 10 30. Do you have that coffee through your mouth? Some days. Yeah. All right. I just I'm just checking. So I mean, for me, it's like I feel like I've been on a better routine that way. So then I try to keep it within an eight hour window. So I'll go from like 10 30 to 6 30. Yeah. And then just be like, that's it. Or try to minimize the crap that I mean after. You know, 630. Because I don't want to eat another meal. Because I got real bad for a while. Yeah. Like just recently. Yes. Whereas like, oh my God, I'm going to make two fucking PB &Js. It's like, well, yeah, no thank you. Just wolf one down. Well, yeah. A thousand percent. I got in the same type of habit. And that all that 25, 30 pounds that I lost before. Yeah. Just came screaming right back because I... ended up having like, if I would have counted my calories, I would have been having three dinners a night. Just from eating and snacking while I'm making the dinner, eating my meal with my family, and then like as I'm cleaning up plates, just shoving stuff in my mouth, like, ⁓ that kid didn't finish yet, so I'm eat it. I'm gonna eat that, I'm gonna eat that. Rather than either saving it for leftover or composting it or getting rid of it, like, at that point, I know if it's my, the way it was brought up and the little bit of, ⁓ like. we can't waste money type of approach. Still that way. Yeah, but they like, I don't know if I feel it's like when we go out to dinner, I feel like I'm wasting money if we say no, I'm not. But no reality, I've already spent the money. Can I tell you that I, so Katie took me out to sushi last week for my birthday. Well, we're going out again, Sunday, but we had. a kid-free weekend last weekend and it was one of those scenarios where we got to the sushi place screaming Tuna hit us up and We'll come to you literally Yeah, we could do on site. Yeah, sorry I don't have alcohol. Oh, they have alcohol. They do so but anyway, so we we ordered probably 24 rolls Sushi okay, so amongst two people do what do you order for sushi? I don't know what so normally I don't get sushi often so normally I order Spicy crab meat okay, or I'll have like a sesame chicken Okay, I don't get crazy. I don't do chicken and sushi. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's a good chicken and sushi ⁓ Oh, no, you're... sushi. Well, so there's, I think there's a... Is that common mis- Sushimi. That's... Sashimi, yes, correct. So the chicken is sushiimi? No, no, sashimi is separate, so that is raw, raw. Like that is like not cooked stuff. I thought that was sushi. No, it's sashimi. Sushimi. Yeah, sushi would be... It's all sushi. Okay, let's put it that way. There's a bubble. There's Shichimi and there's like cooked sushi essentially. Okay. And we normally go into the side of things. We don't ever do the raw stuff. That's not my game. So. ⁓ I didn't know that was a thing. Right. Well, so anyway, so I didn't eat all day when we went to this place. did you take a couple of shots of sake and then get fucked up? No. What we did was is we ordered the 24 rolls. I had 18 of the rolls. Holy shit. Au contraire, mon frère. I had six more rolls at the end. And so to your point, to your point of, well, I don't want to waste food. Well, I ordered food and I was like, well, I That's not enough. No. My shrimp record, did I ever tell you about my shrimp record? 98 shrimps. It got to the point at Red Lobster where I, people started like, coming around our table to watch me eat food. And then I was like, maybe I should stop. No. But then, but then. Why did you let that That was at like 92, but hold on. You don't let anyone rain on your parade. And then six trips later, I was like, okay, maybe this is too much. Okay, maybe that's too much. So anyways, back to the health trends though. So I mean, you you see these viral trends on social media and I feel like there's a lot of people that like. they try these trends and it's just not a healthy situation. There's no talking about like, you know, the carnivore diets or talking about like, like caloric intake, right? And there's a lot of times where people will be like, well, don't eat anything for hours or like days and like the fricking, what is that? The lemon, cayenne pepper and whatever, like the detox. Well, it's like, okay, you shouldn't just stop eating food for three days. I feel like that's not a healthy thing. You know what I mean? Yeah, I've also known a lot of people that once they adopt that, really like it. So it can't be harming, but also I don't feel like you need to go to that extreme. No, I agree. your body burns 2,000 and... 687 calories right today. Yeah, cuz that's that If you want to lose weight consume less calories in that. Yeah, exactly. That's it Well, that's why that's why I'm trying if you want to eat more food fucking work out more right to keep the the numbers Yeah, I need to be yeah, I agree cuz like I back in high school now my in wrestling my My metabolism was going was through the roof. I was young That helped a lot I also like working out in the most intense way at least five days a week. Yeah. Right. A couple hours after school every day or a wrestling meet or in in between there or whatever. And I was I was in the heavyweight. I wrestled at 215 or heavyweight when I first started sophomore year. Yeah. So I was like 210 sophomore year. I literally would eat until I was about to puke after practice because I would lose and burn that much energy throughout practice. Then I'd come home and just shove my face with whatever calories I could like fried chicken, whatever. didn't matter. But my body was burning so much fuel that I could do whatever I wanted. Like I could eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. And that's for like for me too, where, you know, when we would do two a days, right? And there'd be a group of us that would go to old country buffet after, and then we would just ham. Like go absolute ham, like eight plates deep. And you're out of even fault. And that's just how much, so to your point, like that's how much energy you burn just doing that stuff. And I wish more schools would like teach you like these sports. I wish they would teach you how to like eat better or how to eat with the appropriate situation you know what mean? I feel like schools and sports programs are so much more different now than they were when we were in high school to the point where I'm sure they're talking about that stuff more like even down to the weight of how they lift and how they train their muscles and all that stuff is completely different than when we were so I would imagine diet And I don't say diet in terms of like, don't eat this, don't eat that, but like diet in terms of here, you worked hard today, you need to replenish with carbs, you need to replenish with protein, you need to get, you know, vegetables, you need to have that balance that I think is what it comes down to. And it's legit. If you want to lose weight, sweat more and eat less. That was my motto after high school. If I wanted to lose weight, cool. I'll go work out. If I knew I was going to go out that night or something, back when I had time to like... stuff for myself. Yeah. Right? Like, I'm gonna go out on out with the buddies tonight. I'm gonna go work out so that I can earn a little extra couple extra wings or whatever it was and then I just abolish everything and... know which wings are the tits? I love wings. ⁓ yeah. Yeah, wings are good. Breaking news, wings are good. are delicious. Yes, correct. No one else had that thought ever. No, not at all. So, ⁓ But yeah, there's so many trends. There's all these pills that are miracle fat burners and all this. It's like, it's just wild that so many people will buy that and go after that stuff when it's like, no, just don't eat as much. some people- But you would be surprised how the brain is wired, right? Whereas like when you're, when you have an eating disorder, like you eat too much. I am often- surprised at how your brain is wired. Yeah, I agree. Me too. But I mean, so it's like the brain, you almost have to retrain the brain to do this, right? Where it's like you're talking about like, don't eat as much for that caloric intake. Yeah. And, for people like the impulse control is just non-existent because they've been wired to do this time and time and time again. So it's one of those situations where it's like, if people would have more abilities to go and get the help they need or figure out, whether it's a personal trainer or a nutritionist or whatever, I think you would see a lot of people not have those problems. Yeah, it's not easy and that's coming from someone who is very impulsive with eating and stuff like that. I love eating. It's so great. is just- Newsflash, eating's great. Newsflash. Eating is my comfort. Right. ⁓ But no, like I, when I get to a point, like I can tell when I'm trying and like when I'm succeeding at controlling those cravings and stuff like that, like I'll get to the point where I will almost hide, like I'll bring food or like ⁓ no one's in the kitchen quick. I'm going to slam this quick. I'm going to grab this. I'm going to, but then if someone walks around the corner, I'm quickly like, wow, shove it in my mouth, hide it behind my back or something like that. And I'm like, if I'm doing that, that that was, that's like a, but that was like a trigger in my head. Like, is like, ⁓ I could, I could insert, you know, if I were doing that with, you know, alcohol or something like that, like it'd be a big problem. Yeah. Right. But my brain hasn't until recently, like it's something I'm working on like every minute right now is like not just consuming food constantly. Yeah, I agree. Which is all I really need to do. If I can control what I put in my mouth. ⁓ so she said I will control. Actually, that's what he said comes out. God, it's been so that was. Perfect. Luckily that was perfect. There was one person. Luckily for you, you got to my part. Twist. Ethan Twist. So yeah. Ethan's twisting his ass right out of here. Ethan, see ya. So yeah, health trends are crazy. Do whatever makes you happy. Don't do wild, crazy shit. Correct. That's my advice. Agreed. It's pretty basic and simple if you just control it. Yeah, absolutely. Good. I was just going to say that we need to move to the next Wisconsin. Okay, perfect. We're on the same page. Holy shit. For the last episode, we have now introduced a new segment into our podcast and that is called Wisconsin or No. All right. We're going to come up with some sort of ditty. It's going to be playing right now. Maybe not. There might not be any song or little little snippet before that. It might just be me dancing. It might just be a Wisconsin jig. We'll just see. But anyway, so the purpose of this segment is to, because we're from Wisconsin, is to give the other person a story or historical fact or something along those. A law. Right. Anything. Right. And then the other person is supposed to guess, is it Wisconsin or no? OK, so I have a story and I found this today. All the prep I did to go to this. I love story. Actually, I do want to pour me quick. and I'll talk. there was an individual who was trying to break into a gas station in the town of Waterloo. right. See that you just ruined it. We'll see. ⁓ And so this individual ⁓ went through the roof into the ceiling. Interesting. And obviously was caught due to the fact that there was a burglar alarm that went off. Police showed up and they could not find the individual until they heard thumping from the dropped ceiling above. So the guy came out and he got put under arrest. And when the cop asked, what the hell are you doing? The guy said he was looking for rocks. So do you think that this is Wisconsin or no? I feel like... I feel like I'm leaning towards Erno because you wouldn't slip the city in there. I feel like you're trying to trick me with the city part. Waterloo is a city or town or village or whatever the fuck it is in Wisconsin. But that's not to say there's a different Waterloo in another state. I'm gonna say, because I think you're trying to trick me, and there was no beer involved. or no? You would be correct. This individual got arrested in the town of Waterloo, Iowa. Iowa? Correct, correct. So there you go. That's our segment for the day. I'll take it. A win? We are 100%. Yeah. Oh yeah, that's right. are You got it right yet, the last episode. So that would be my turn next week to guess a story for you. all right. Sweet. Other than that, do you have anything else for the show? I don't think that's a nice solid pizzeria pot to round it out. ⁓ If if you guys have any Weird trends that you've seen I don't know any pictures I will not open or play anything if it comes with a picture or video I just know that But yeah, let us know what kind of trends you've tried ⁓ Diets or whatever right, you know, I agree. I It's interesting to me So other than that, thank you for joining us on the Two Dads, One Mic podcast. My name's Taylor, this is Mike. Peace. Peace. ⁓
