Speaker 1: Welcome to Inside the Race at My Whoosh Racing. Speaker 2: racing podcast. Speaker 3: made by the community, for the community. And I'm Hayley Simmons. Speaker 1: Matt Payne. Speaker 2: I'm Emma Martin. Speaker 1: And we hope you'll join us for all things My Whoosh Racing. Commentate and watch. Speaker 2: Ride and race, live and breathe. And occasionally dream about my wish racing? Well, I do anyway. Speaker 3: Really glad you said that because I do as well. Speaker 1: Anyway, we will be bringing to Inside the Race, a My Roose Racing Podcast, decades of knowledge and expertise of racing, organising and commentating. Speaker 2: from grassroots to world championships, across multiple disciplines and mix that with a love of racing and experiences of esports and my woosh. Speaker 3: Commentators, we all talk a lot, so let's give you some more details about what's in store and head to the commentary box. Speaker 2: Well, we've just finished in the studio and we are here to talk about the racing. The podcast Inside the Race, well, obviously all about the racing. Matt, we're going to wrap up the racing every single week. Speaker 1: We certainly are. In the show we're gonna be looking at h the moves, who made them, where they were made, what was the effect of that, the strategies that were employed by our riders, by our our teens, what the surprises were, what were we expecting and what was unexpected, what maybe has sprung a surprise on us as much as it did on the riders. Speaker 2: Yeah, how the race was won, an absolutely crucial part of what we are going to do. We're also going to talk to those winners. We're going to throw in a number of interviews. Some of them will be more in depth. Some of them might just be those few winning questions you get on the podium. Speaker 1: And Emma, I don't want to ask riders ever what how do you feel when they've won? Because guess what? They're usually pretty happy. But I think we can manage one or two a few more in-depth questions. We've got a few last Speaker 2: up? yes, I have questions lined up till they're coming out of my ears. Well also the things I want to ask and the things I want to find out. I want to talk to the teams, I want to find out the tactics, I want to DS on the programme, I want to discuss strategy but I also want to talk about and discuss and understand more about the teams in the Peloton. Speaker 1: Yes, because the teams, it's not just about the team that wins. There's some amazing teams out there that really are supportive of riders. There are teams out there that put riders into every race category. We find other teams focused on a core group of riders. And I think the different ways that these teams interact with each other and what they're looking to get out of their racing as a team is really important to me as well as supporting those teams and giving some some publicity because let's face it, they're there. They're out there each and every week representing that team. Speaker 2: Yes, they are. Let's just think about that. The Sunday Race Club teams, team racing, team strategies, team tactics. The cycling e-sports league, also a team competition as well as an individual competition. There are some really competitive teams out there racing on a Tuesday. Let's not forget, even when we get to a world championship level, the teams might be nationalities, but they're still a team. They're still tactics and racing strategy in play. Speaker 1: And who can forget them of the world championship tactics that played by the American team when we saw that? I mean, that caught a lot of people by surprise. We were watching live in Abu Dhabi and we saw that and it's a great example, I think, of team tactics playing out on that stage one sprint where the Americans work together. How many times do we see that coming into play? And then I'm looking forward also to the My Wish Championships. We don't know what those teams are going to be, but if the championships that we saw in twenty twenty-three and twenty four Five, anything to go by. Teams and the tactics are gonna be really at the core of the racing. Speaker 2: They are indeed. well, we can wrap all that up every week. But what we can also do every week is look forward to what's coming up, what's coming next, whether that is a course preview of the Sunday Race Cup final each month, whether there's speculation about who's on form, who isn't, what team is going to be in the mix. Of course, from my perspective, I'm always going to be looking for the stats to support that as well. Speaker 1: No. Definitely not. That's definitely not happening. I'm gonna be looking at it from a racist heart point of view. I'd love to see the action there. It's a bit like basically you're gonna get an insight on what it's like with Emma and myself and Haley when we talk about what's coming up in races because I'm full of it'd be great if somebody attacks here. Wouldn't this be a great attack point? This is where the teams are gonna be really working. I'm not gonna have any stats to support that. Emma does that, and she does it amazing, and Haley, of course, looking at it as well. Well, in and I I can't wait to see whether Haley's speculation translates into what she does in the race as well. So that I think is gonna be very interesting to see how our races riders perform versus what we speculate, and of course, to get your speculation out there as well. We'd love you to be interacting, send us messages, jump on board, and of course make sure you get in touch with the show. Tell us what you're expecting when we come and we're putting that show out there to you. It's not about us talking to you. We are part of that community just as much as you are. We we we absolutely love to see people's opinions on there. whether that is stats based or whether it is from the head or maybe from the heart. Speaker 2: Well, whether it's your head or your heart, the racing action will be central to Inside the Race podcast. But there are other things that are also central. Let's head over to the pain cave and find out. And we're also going to be looking at our community, our racing community in a bit more depth as well, Hayley. Speaker 3: We are. We're gonna go behind the bars and interview some of the riders that are regular riders, racers, and lovers of my wish. Speaker 2: Yes, pulling apart those characters, the avatars that we see week in week out on MyWoosh, the people behind those avatars, who they are, what makes them tick. It's really exciting. Speaker 3: It is. The other really integral part of my Wosh are the teams. Yes. The teams of riders, the teams of racers, and that's something else that we're going to explore in this podcast. Speaker 2: And let's not forget the social side to those teams as well. I want to know who has visited whom around the world and how those friendships have formed outside of that race and community. Speaker 3: I know, I mean I know for a fact that some of the riders are sending each other's packages from country to country. So I think that's a really interesting thing that comes from being a member of one of these teams on MyWoosh. And that's something that we wanna im unpick a little bit. Speaker 2: It is indeed other things I want on pick. Specifically for me, I'm really interested in the stats behind the racing community and really interested in, well, everybody knows I love my wish info, but what does that mean? What does it tell us about how many sprinters we've got, who those fabulous sprinters are and who we might be having on the show to interview? Speaker 3: For the data nerds like us, there's so many interesting facts and figures that you can go into, and that's something that I'm really looking forward to exploring a little bit more. Speaker 2: Yes, and let's not forget nutrition, really important. Speaker 3: Nutrition's a key thing both in training and racing, and it's something that people often get wrong actually. And I think there are lots of questions that that we can hopefully help answer, or or you know, maybe some advice that we can give, or maybe even a recipe or two for some enjoyable training and racing. Speaker 2: Who wouldn't want to have the world champion's secret recipe for recovery cake? So would I. But on top of that, you know, there are other things. Talking about training, you know, what type of training do our riders and racers do? Speaker 3: I I'd be making it. Exactly. And some of our riders are actually also coaches. Yeah. But I think it'll be really interesting. I think different I think the favourite training sessions for the riders are gonna massively differ depending on what kind of rider you're asking, whether you're asking a diesel like me or a sprinter like Matt, you know, he's gonna think of he's gonna like some training sessions a lot more than I am. But actually some of the sessions that I dislike are the ones that benefit me most on the platform. And it'll be really interesting to talk to the riders who also coach and see what kind of sessions they're maybe setting their athletes. Speaker 2: want to understand how they feel as those riders progress and perhaps move into the categories that the coaches are in as well. You know what happens when there's a possibility your coached athlete may start being your main competition? Speaker 3: I think we're gonna have to ask some of them and see what they say. Yeah. Speaker 2: I we are. Other things I think we should ask about and see what they say. I know Matt might not be quite so interested, but pets of the peloton and the mascots that we see out. Speaker 3: A lot of the riders have have their little mascots next to them when we see them on camera. And actually, talking about that kind of thing, I love to get a view into the pain caves of some of the riders. So I'd really like to talk to them on some of their pain cave setups. Yeah. So not just the mascots or or the pets that might lie next to them while they're racing, but just get a little bit more information on their pain cave. Speaker 2: Yes, and the tech that they're using and why they chose to use that tech. Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. I think that's something that's really interesting. Speaker 2: I think so too. And of course we do then have the opportunity for specials and spin-offs, maybe to bring a little bit more depth to some of the subjects that our listeners might want to hear about. Speaker 3: Yeah, we're planning to do things that are are maybe a bit more informational, useful hopefully. And we've also got a couple of fun ideas up our sleeves, haven't Speaker 2: We do, definitely. Keep your eyes peeled for those. Now, if you have a topic for a special that you would like us to give you little bit more information on or unpick a little bit further, please do get in touch because we'd love to hear from you. Speaker 1: Hope that's giving you some insight into our plans for inside the race at My Wish Racing Podcast. Speaker 2: each other, we took turns in the hot seat. Speaker 3: And you can find out the results of that in episodes two, three and four. Speaker 1: The preview shows for the MyWoos Championship, the one million dollar I do love to say stage race. that the coverage of that, we're gonna start that episode five. Speaker 2: then join us as we bring you our daily updates live after each and every stage. Speaker 3: the My Whoosh Championships, we're gonna wrap up all of the action from the whole race during our review show. Speaker 1: And then we start our regular weekly podcast. We're gonna cover as much my whoosh racing as we can. Speaker 2: Yes, well, we are always looking for ways to give even more insight into the world of eSports racing. And as part of that, we're helped by some amazing people. Speaker 3: We really are, and we want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of them.
