M2: Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Sisters Sisters. We are going to Paris ⁓ tomorrow if you're listening to this on the day that this drops. And I'm joined today by Mouslet A.

Mouselet A: Hello everyone.

M2: ⁓ as we mentioned last week, the housekeeping, right? Mouse of one is currently in London on a totally separate trip. So she will not be on the podcast this week. Next week, while we are in Paris, she will be ⁓ she will be doing the podcast on on an unknown topic. But I want to talk about our trip. I want to talk about Disneyland Paris today because Disneyland Paris is one of my favorite parks in the entire world. It ranks above most of the USA parks, which I think is a very hot take. ⁓ but we have so much fun planned and I want people to kind of understand the background of it 'cause there's so much like lore here. And then obviously our itinerary. So do you want to talk about our like kind of brief itinerary?

Mouselet A: Sure, so we are going for about a week. So we're spending, we're flying into Paris or Charles de Girl Airport. We are spending ⁓ essentially three days there, our landing day, and then two full days. And then we are going to be going to Disneyland, Paris right after that for two full days, and then we're ending our trip with us with almost three full days in London, and we're flying home from London.

M2: We we do have a red eye, so we're flying overnight into Paris. Kind of the worst thing, honestly. ⁓ I almost wish we had just flown out earlier on Friday, to be honest. Like kind of having regrets, but not too bad. And it'll it'll make the flight faster because we'll be asleep, hopefully. So we are doing the two days in Disneyland, Paris. I'll get into like all of that, or we will about how many days you should spend there. Two days is a great number in my opinion. Mouse Leday wanted to only do one day. Care to defend yourself?

Mouselet A: Yeah, I was getting worried. I kept going back and forth if we had enough time in the city of Paris. Slash I just couldn't in my head think about what we would do for two full days in Disneyland Paris because I know we're getting Premiere Pass. So we will be able to shorten our wait times waiting in lines. And I just like couldn't I was getting nervous that we would run out of things to do, honestly, slash feel like we need more time in the city of Paris. ⁓ You have convinced me that we're going to use the two days no problem, but I still am a little skeptical.

M2: Yeah, because earlier today we had the same discussion. But ⁓ just to briefly talk about your kind of DLP experience, so you've been twice. and the first time you went was a long time ago. We talked about all of our like lore and a bunch of fun stories on sitting on the ground talking on our Patreon segment. But the first time you went, you always say you quote blacked out and you remember nothing. And the second time you went, you were very, very ill, whether like It was clearly like a food poisoning type thing 'cause it passed so fast. Would you like to discuss about how you slept on a bench outside of Smallworld?

Mouselet A: Yeah, that was really tough. ⁓ so the day before our Disneyland day, we were in London and in the middle of the night felt sick. I was like, ⁓ I'm sick. Was sick the whole day in London. That evening we had a Eurostar to Paris. And I was so n worried because I was so sick. I felt awful. And I yeah, I think it was food prisoning or something. I just felt so awful. And then ⁓ luckily it was okay, got the Eurostar, we got over there. I'm like, okay, I think you're feeling better. Woke up the next morning, felt kind of okay. We get to the park. We went on, I remember we went on one ride, we went on the roller coaster Indiana Jones, and then I just felt yeah, that's what we started with. That's what we started with Indiana Jones roller coaster. No, not a lot was open. We tried to road drop, not a lot was open. And then we did like magic carpets or dumbo or something. Dumbo. And then

M2: That's what we started with? ⁓ god, that's funny, I didn't remember that. Probably 'cause you wanted to, I guess, 'cause how funny. ⁓ okay. Number.

Mouselet A: felt sick again, but sick to the point where I just felt like, ⁓ if I didn't lay down, I was going to pa like pass out. Whatever. I felt very, very tired. And I said, I can't make it any longer unless I take a nap. And they convinced me not to go back to the hotel. They said s lay on this bench and we'll go ride some rides. And I started on a bench and I was sleeping on a bench. And then I relocated to a spot in the sun at a little table and I put my head down and I was out. And as soon as I was done, With that nap, which was like probably a good hour, I felt amazing after that. So, yeah, that was a little bummer, but luckily it didn't ultimately impact the trip too much.

M2: I feel like we didn't want to go back to the hotel because you wouldn't have like I just think you wouldn't have come back. And so ⁓ we had a great morning though. We went and did like all of the dark rides, which you don't love as much and stuff. So it ended up working pretty well and then we had a good time after that, but that was unfortunate. Also, again, just to defend ourselves, we were staying in this like weird like business Airbnb thing. So like even if we had wanted to extend a night 'cause she was feeling sick and like stay in London next to her night, like that wasn't even on the table because we had to check out. Melissa C had to get to a bachelor party.

M2: It was a n it w we had we had to get to Didn't Paris. ⁓ okay. We have so much more to talk about, but first let's get into a little bit of news.

Mouselet A: Yeah, it was not an option. It was not an option.

M2: Kind of a a good sampling of news. A lot of it's kind of the same stuff you heard before. ⁓ but Mandalorian and Grogu, that the movie premiered. Have not seen it. I actually haven't finished season three of The Mandalorian. Still making my way through that. So I'll be watching it ⁓ on Disney Plus. You haven't even seen The Mandalorian, so. But exciting, like exciting that anytime Star Wars is releasing anything new. Also, all the things we've talked about, right? The new Smuggler's Run version, ⁓ Cool Kids Summer, Soarin' Across America, and Rock'n'Roller Coaster.

Mouselet A: I have not yet.

M2: All happening May 26th. So by the time you're listening to this podcast, those will all be open, ⁓ which is great. Love like new offerings. ⁓ Cool Kidsummer is a lot of cool stuff, so definitely check that stuff out too. It's not just for kids. Me and Mouse at one love it. A couple of other things. The Bluey show, the Bluey show at the conservation station at the ⁓ Ruffy Keys Planet Watch. That is opening up. I wouldn't say it's a show, I guess. It's a dance party. There's a virtual cue for it because Bluey and Bingo are very, very popular with the kids. Did you watch any videos of it? Have you seen any about anything about it?

Mouselet A: I saw a very brief video where it just looked like a lot of people just standing in a circle looking at Bluey, so I'm kinda curious what's what it's gonna be like.

M2: So kind of bouncing and dancing. Yeah. I'm very curious because it's kind of out of the way to get there. You take the train, the virtual queue. I'm very, very, very curious. I think we'll me and Melcel One are headed back to to world in like a month. I think we'll probably pop over there just to just to experience it. ⁓ and then two more things. So Animation Courtyard, while it's not fully open yet, they have all of the characters that will be inside of the area. ⁓ roaming right now. The whole outside is open. It looks incredible. I'm so excited about it. And they also have a new baby care center, which is great. I'm gonna actually probably let Mouse of One kind of talk about this next week, but the Hollywood Cuddy's baby care center apparently was abysmal and now it looks incredible. So that's a little bit of a a news rundown, but now it's time to get into the main segment. Which is all about Disneyland Paris. ⁓ this episode will talk about some really cool lore, like Disney history, ⁓ kind of some fun Disney facts, and then also we'll tell you about what we're planning for for our trip. So I guess I'll kick it off. Disneyland, Paris. Despite what you may think, it's not actually located in Paris. It's about twenty miles east in a town called Marne la Valle. If you're French and I butchered that. I've heard it said that way before, so I've been saying it long wrong for a very long time. But Disney originally looked at a lot of different places. They had already opened up Tokyo Disney, and this was kind of their second like international expansion that they wanted to build some sort of Disney park in Europe. Fully support them for this decision. No matter how wrong it initially went, I think this, yes, they needed to have it in Europe. So they looked at the UK, London-ish area, more so. Frankfurt, Milan, and Spain. ⁓ Spain was the front runner. But there were all sorts of environmental issues with the site, specifically that they would have had to destroy some like very ⁓ important like marshlands or something, which would have been unfortunate. So ⁓ in the end, they ended up going with France. They actually had a different site they wanted in France, and then that also had environmental issues of like some like rock or something. So they ended up going with this area, which was located right outside of Paris. There was a huge amount of coordination with the Paris or the France, I mean government. ⁓ to actually make this happen. First off, like the train line, it didn't extend out there. So that was a part of the conversation. Extending the RER, we'll get into this in a minute, but extending that all the way out there. They also got so 5,200 acres of land. They had this huge master agreement with the French government that had all of these kind of things that they were tied to that we'll get into in a minute. ⁓ and then in in general, now about half ish of the land has been developed. So

Mouselet A: ⁓ it is Europe's most visited theme park. It's the largest employer. ⁓ well, I guess.

M2: Which surprises me that it's Europe's most visited, honestly.

Mouselet A: What would be what would be a runner up?

M2: I don't know, there's like other there's like a very famous one. I don't know, I'm just sort of surprised but

Mouselet A: Yeah, yeah, it's true. ⁓ it is the largest employer of France. It has seventeen thousand employees. It opened in nineteen ninety-two with the one Castle Park. It was named Euro Disney Resort, and then it was renamed to Euro Disneyland Paris in nineteen ninety-four. And then it was renamed again to Disneyland Resort Paris in two thousand two. And just the park itself just came with a lot of criticism. And then in two thousand two, Walt Disney Studios opened up, which was a smaller park across from the Disneyland Paris Park.

M2: ⁓ Walt Disney Studios was built very, very inexpensively. And honestly, Euro Disney, as Mausada just touched on, was not doing well at all. It was very highly critiqued. There was like a lot lower turnout than they expected. The French kind of culture wasn't integrating that perfectly with this. The use of the word Euro, like people didn't like that in general, it just was not doing well. It's actually responsible for. The like slashing of huge projects that were supposed to happen in the USA parks because of how much it was impacting the Disney company financially. But Disney had an agreement, as I mentioned, with the French government that they had to open a second park by a certain period. And ⁓ eventually they did have to open that second park. And so they popped up the cheapest, rinky, ranky-dankiest park ever, Walt Disney Studios. It was basically like the soundstage vibe. you could compare it like Hollywood Studios or California Adventure, I suppose, but it's even worse. They just dumped a bunch of close to prefabbed rides in there. ⁓ I mean, they had Rock and Roller Coaster, which was like good. They have the Tower of Terror that they brought over from California Adventure. Like they I mean they took the same idea. They had ⁓ the Aladdin's magic carpets randomly still there. The worst. They they had like a couple of good things, but in general it was just a bunch of random stuff and the theming was so So weak. ⁓ now actually it's been renamed. So it's been renamed to Adventure World. It's going through a transformation right now. Instead of just having those little tiny areas, they now have like a full Pixar world or world of Pixar, which was already kind of there to be honest. But they also have a new frozen world and a new Tangled Ride. Like they're re they're adding a Lion King area, as they call it. They're really, really working to build that park up. We'll talk about that. more in a minute. But anything else to kinda say is like an overview, your thoughts on that before I get into the the resorts?

Mouselet A: They have an amazing cars ride.

M2: You pe people can't tell you're being sarcastic.

Mouselet A: I'm teasing, it's like a tram ride and you can you explain it please.

M2: It was so th it was a backlot tour. Actually, I've bit I th have you been on it when it was the backlot tour or no? I did it a couple times when it was a backlot tour. It was a great backlot tour. I think it was actually a better backlot tour than ⁓ the one at Hollywood Studios, dare I say. It was really good. It had Catastrophe Canyon, all that stuff. They then, in this big transformation, they changed it into a cars tour. You still go through Catastrophe Canyon, which that part's cool, and they re themed it like Dynaco and Cars.

Mouselet A: ⁓ I think so. I think so actually.

M2: But everything else is just like, I don't know, random props on the ground. It's it was an interesting experience. I'll also say the show Lights Motor Action that they had at at MGM ⁓ with the cars that was set in France, that actually originated in Walt Disney Studios, which I think is really cool. It was something different that they were doing, and it makes sense of why that was all themed in France. They closed that show and they turned it into an Alice in Wonderland BMX show. The show just like the park was just like it had no identity. It was It was kind of just a a mess of randomness. It is improved now. There's still some areas that are kind of odd. They have Avengers campus there now. Like it they're really improving it. ⁓ thank God. Honestly, thank God. Cause it was it was absolutely brutal. So two parks. ⁓ Disneyland Park, which is the Castle Park. We'll talk about that kind of with our trip plans and stuff. And then Walt Disney Studios, which is now Adventure World. They also had seven different hotels. This is really interesting. So Michael Eisner, who me Mal Slade both love, ⁓ go Eisner. He was the CEO of Disney at the time. He loved America, loved the way that Disney did things like in a very like quintessential American way. And so he decided that all seven hotels that they built were going to be themed around a different region of the United States. Which I just told Mal Slade this fact earlier today, and you didn't know that, right?

Mouselet A: Go Eisner. I did not know that.

M2: So I'll kind of run through what the hotels are. and so the first I guess is is Disneyland Hotel. This is an iconic hotel. It is outside of the castle park, like literally outside. Like there are balcony, there are rooms that have a view of the castle. It's pink, it's beautiful. I guess I would compare it most to like the Grand Floridian. Is that what you I mean, it's

Mouselet A: Yeah, it's grand, it's beautiful, it's it's proximity to park is like right there. Yeah, I guess the grand would be the best way to compare it, yeah.

M2: It it's like beyond the Grand though. It's like the Grand Plus Disney. It's it's beautiful. That one, I I'm not sure exactly what like part of the United States that one's themed around, if I'm being honest. I'm gonna kind of talk about the other ones instead. ⁓ so Sequoia Lodge. Sequoia Lodge is one of the the rooms or the resorts that is like more kind of value level. It kind of gives I don't know where Sequoia's are, but it gives like the West. It gives like California, like Redwoods. It's a forest lodge. It kind of sort of gives Grand Californian inspired by the national parks. I'm kind of looking at some pictures of it as we talk. ⁓ yeah, but it's not, it's not the Grand Californian. It's more simple than that. So it's a little bit more like value level. This is gonna be kind of a trend. ⁓ next up we have Newport Bay. This is named after obviously like Newport, so like Rhode Island, Massachusetts, like New England type area.

Mouselet A: California.

M2: It's kind of yacht club-ish. It's one of the nicer hotels there. It still sort of gives value a little bit. It's c like it's nice, but it doesn't feel like the same level as like the Disneyland hotels say. ⁓ next up, Hotel Santa Fe. It is themed after ⁓ Santa Fe, obviously. So that one is like a very value-level ⁓ resort. It doesn't even have a pool, I'm pretty sure. Like it's very kind of basic at One point it didn't have AC. I don't know if it does now. I'll I sh I'll I'll check that kind of while we chit chat, but it did not actually Melissa Day mind checking that. ⁓ pretty sure it didn't have AC when we w looked to stay there. There's also Hotel Cheyenne. This one's super cute. It's like frontier themed. It's like a little frontier town. I want to visit Hotel Cheyenne. I'm hoping that we can kind of pop over there and go see it. It does not have AC. Santa Fe. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Hotel Cheyenne does not have Santa ⁓ does not have AC either. So I'm pretty sure those two.

Mouselet A: Mm-hmm. Does not Tough.

M2: Don't have AC, don't have a pool, and potentially like, yeah, there's no gym. Like they're value. They're like they're almost like a little lower than our value level. They're still good, but they're just different. There's also the Davy Crockett Ranch, which is kind of like Fort Wilderness Campground. ⁓ it's like cabins. It's I you can't even walk ⁓ to the parks from this one. You have to drive. And then there is Hotel New York. Which was re-themed to Marvel, so now it's like a Marvel and a New York theme. I saved that one for last because I stayed in that one last year. I really like this one in general. I think they did a pretty good job with the Marvel theme. I think the New York theme is cool. The rooms are pretty nice. The one thing I'll say about it is that I feel like at Disney World, the resorts like I understand them like holistically. I feel like you might say the same thing about Newport Bay. Like I understood what's in them, what's going on, what are the offerings. A hotel New York, I was like, what's going on? Like, okay, I went out to the gym and I went to this outdoor gym area that was like literally basically like well it wasn't like abandoned, but it like unused and I had to walk through like a construction site and like one of the pools was closed and like the breakfast it's just it's feels a little bit it felt a little bit different. I don't know. Do you think Newport kind of felt like that?

Mouselet A: I don't know if it felt like I don't know if it felt like that. If it just kinda felt like you were in the lobby and everything was great, but then then the second you like started to head to your room, it was like, ⁓ what's okay, this isn't as nice as I thought was more so the vibe I got with Newport Bay. So I don't know if I exactly got the feeling maybe they were still going through the transition though when you were there, were they?

M2: I guess not I guess not. No, I think that they were already through it, but the hero training zone was that outdoor area. I guess I was mostly thrown off by the fact that the outdoor pool was drained and closed. Maybe that was really throwing me for a loop. ⁓ we'll kind of talk about if you should stay in sight and stuff later, but I do think those resorts are really cool. And something I want to do on this trip if we have time is just to kind of walk through most of them because I really want to see them and just like understand their offerings a little bit more. Anyway.

Mouselet A: Hm.

M2: Long winded little rundown, but now we're actually gonna get into our plans, our tips, questions people asked us, our advice. So do you wanna run through kind of like our our first couple things?

Mouselet A: Yeah, so our plan is we're going to both parks. We're going to spend two days in ⁓ in Disneyland and we have a park hopper. So these parks are most similar to California where they are facing each other essentially. So it's gonna be really easy to park hop. And I kind of envision going ⁓ to b both parks both days. And I kind of think what we should do is we are going to get Premiere Pass. And part of the reason of doing that is is because so an Premier Pass is essentially having like a lightning lane for or for every ride, once. And we don't have t Okay. And I'm pretty sure we don't have to schedule a time. You can just use it. So it's gonna be really flexible for us. And we actually did this in twenty twenty three and I think we rode like

M2: Do you wanna explain what Premier Pass is? Every light that has the lightning lane cue. Yeah.

Mouselet A: twenty rides in I don't know if that was one day or I think that was one day. We did like everything you could do. So

M2: We did a ton. But just to briefly talk a little more about Premier Pass. ⁓ so there's only two ways to really do lightning lanes at Disneyland Paris. It's a little bit different. One way is to purchase Premier Pass, which again, as MA said, it gets you one time access to every single ride with a lightning lane that you don't have to schedule. So I want to ride Phantomana right now. I will walk right over and I scan in. Like it's very nice. I mean, Disney World actually now has something similar. I just think most of us probably haven't used it, ⁓ like me included. The other thing you can do is more of an a la carte option. Say it's like a single pass option that you can purchase like a couple of rides as individual lightning lanes. If there's a couple of like must-dos. ⁓ why would you do that approach? Because Premier Pass is incredibly expensive. Premier Pass is a lot of money and the tickets are cheaper. So like in my mind, if you're going to Disneyland Paris, Premier Pass is worth it. But like for people who are more locals, they definitely aren't getting it every time. So

Mouselet A: I was gonna ask, how does it compare to I'm pretty sure Premier Pass still at World is more expensive than a Premier Pass in l in Paris, right?

M2: Yes, I mean I know that Premier Pass for one day on Best Steel Day when we went, which was the most expensive back in twenty twenty three was a hundred and seventy nine Euros, which is for Magic Kingdom for our Premier Pass in Disney World is four hundred fifty dollars or something. So it was even like the conversion, it's definitely cheaper. So and you're getting both parks with it.

Mouselet A: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, which is crazy. So Yeah, I'm pretty sure. We'll double check, but I'm pretty sure. Yeah. So another really ⁓ fun thing about our trip is we are actually staying in the Disneyland Hotel.

M2: I think, pretty sure. Yeah. Yeah, w I used it last time, like unl yes, I'm I'm positive actually. So

Mouselet A: And I am so excited for this. Back in 2017, that's one of the one of the things that I remembered is I thought never in a million years would we be able to stay at this hotel because it's just beautiful and and it's ⁓ so close to the Disneyland Park. So I am just so excited ⁓ to experience staying here. And ⁓ yeah, it's just gonna make the trip a lot of fun. Slamming the boo button.

M2: I can hear Mouselette one slamming on the boo button if she was here or saving you all from that.

Mouselet A: Slamming it, slamming it, slamming it. ⁓ but yeah, no, I'm very excited.

M2: We were me and Mouselit one always did say that we would stay there. Well, one, we were like, We'll never stay there, but then now ⁓ like I don't know. Yes, it is something special. I would not have stayed here. I would have just stayed in the Marvel Hotel again, ⁓ had Mouselit A not literally basically forced me and said, We are staying there. You basically gave me no option. And I I push I tried to push back and I tried to push back and you didn't allow it. So we are staying there. I'm incredibly excited.

Mouselet A: You know why?

M2: I do feel bad 'cause ⁓ I know Mouse at one really wants to say that. I mean we'll say that again, but

Mouselet A: Yeah. There is no time like the present. You know what? I'm like this is my third time here. If we're not staying if we're not going all out for two two days and staying at this hotel, what are we doing? Since there's no there's no time like the present. Let's just do it.

M2: Like the present. It's my six Okay, okay. Mm okay. Mm. All right. Well, we are I am really, really excited. It's gonna be incredible. It's an amazing resort. We'll we'll show you all of it. ⁓ it's so expensive. Another reason I didn't really want to stay there, I'm just like that's the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life. ⁓ I don't think I'll ever stay anywhere more expensive than that.

Mouselet A: Yeah. Yeah. No, it's obviously it's very much a splurge, but I just it's a special thing. So we just said, Let's do it, it's special, let's make it work and we are. So I'm really excited for that. ⁓

M2: It is a special thing for this special trip, yes. All right, so talking a little bit about rides and like what they have at Disneyland Paris, I feel like everyone always wonders is it the same as world, the same as land? Some of them are. There are some rides that are in every park, and some of them are completely different and completely unique. I just want to quickly run through the layout of the Disneyland Paris, like the Castle Park. ⁓ so that park has a main street, USA. When you walk in, just like you know, every almost every other park. There is an adventureland, a frontier land, a fantasyland, and a discovery land. That's it. So there's only four lands. They don't have a Tomorrowland. ⁓ Discoveryland is like their version of Tomorrowland. I love Discoveryland. It is Jules Verne, like the 1920s view of the future. It's like gold and steampunk and like blimps. It's my probably my favorite land. It's like one of my it's the top three favorite lands across all lands ever. They don't have like a fifth land. They don't have ⁓ like a Liberty Square or a New Orleans Square or anything or like a storybook circus or Toontown. It's just those four lands. There's a lot to do in them, but that's get like an interesting, ⁓ an interesting thing. And then Walt Disney Studios kind of touched on, but now they have like a Pixar land, which has a little Toy Story area, a ratatouille area, Crush Coaster, they have Avengers Campus, they have Like an entrance plaza, I will say, with like Tower of Terror and Aladdin's magic carpets and a couple of other things. And then they have the new frozen and adventure world area. So anyway, we have some must do attractions. ⁓ do you wanna start?

Mouselet A: Sure. ⁓ so a couple of my must do's. I love the Crush Coaster, ⁓ over in Walt Disney's well, I'm sorry, Adventure World. ⁓ it's funny Nemo themed and it just unique to the park. Yeah. Yeah. A while ago, but yes. I haven't seen I have not

M2: Have you seen Finding Nemo? It's really fun. You're sitting in like a crush and it's like back to back, two people, two people, and you kinda like swivel and it turns into a little dark, right? It's real it's like it's small but it's fun. I had a good time last time I was on there. It's fun. Yeah.

Mouselet A: Spin. It's fun, yeah, it's fun. So I'm looking forward to that. I'm looking forward to I don't I don't remember what it's called, but it's the r the re-theme of Rock and Roller Coaster to Iron Man. ⁓ I'm that was really good. So again, it's Rock and Roller Coaster, but it's its theming's different, so it was a lot of fun. ⁓ the last time we did that. And I I also do love d the Tower of Terror over there because of just

M2: I l I loved that. It was good.

Mouselet A: Again, the French the Frenchness, if you will, is a is a lot of fun. But it is Tower of Terror. And

M2: Okay, wait, but their Tower of Terror, I I forgot to put this on my list, but you're so right. And I just typed it and I added it to my list. Because it's like the well, if you ever went on the DCA one, but it's it's even different. It's like plused. It's more high tech. It do you remember it? It's it's kind of scary. It's like spooky. There's like a girl who's there and is like talking to you. It's really cool. That that probably makes my list too.

Mouselet A: Yeah, yeah. It's good. It's good. Yeah. ⁓ I'm gonna do th a c just a couple more. Thunder Mountain. I loved Thunder Mountain at Paris the ⁓ the most of all three parks that we've been on Thunder Mountain. So I hope I'm not overhyping it in my head, but I'm really looking forward to doing Thunder Mountain there. Yes. I remember giving it a nine out of ten. Like I just remember doing that. So I'm looking forward to that.

M2: Did we do that in twenty twenty three? I have no memory of it, so

Mouselet A: Hyperspace Mountain, unfortunately, we found out today, which I had ⁓ a very hard time accepting. In cr I had an incredible hard time accepting this, is going to be closed when we're there for like the th the two days we're there. It's closed the two it's closed for like four days. Really unfortunate. ⁓ I've accepted it kind of now a little bit. So Hyperspace Mountain is Space Mountain, but with different a little bit of different theming, different track.

M2: Shit, it's a tantrum. ⁓ June first through June fourth, it's closed. Have you? I was gonna say have you?

Mouselet A: ⁓ goes up goes upside down. so it's unfortunate mainly because we're going on this trip, which I don't think we've mentioned at all up until this point on the main pod. We're going with my sister Mouse L. Sorry, Mouse Dell. So we are going on this trip with Mouse Dell. She's actually the person that got us to go on this trip. So thank you her. She literally like planned this trip and we're tagging along. So we just said we're gonna slide Disneyland Paris into this trip, but this is her European trip that we're going on with her.

M2: It goes upside down. ⁓ We didn't. I'm sick. Yes. She she p kinda planned this trip and then I and I tagged I tagged two days in Paris on Disneyland, I mean.

Mouselet A: and she has not been in Disneyland Paris before. So I wanted her to experience it. ⁓ so I'm bummed for her sake, but it's okay. I'm actually more excited for her to do Crush Coaster and ⁓ just because it's such a unique ride, it's nowhere else. But super disappointed because actually when I went in 2017, Hyperspace Mountain was also close. So I've only been on it once. ⁓

M2: I have to say I'm pretty sure it was closed when I went in twenty nineteen and then actually no, I think it was open, but then when we were there in was it twenty or tw when I was there last year, it was closed and it reopened like the last day. So it's not closed that often. It's just like we've kind of hit it when it is closed. The ride is really cool because it this isn't Discoveryland. It I it's it's like a soft Star Wars layover, but actually it has ⁓ it has this incredible backstory. I like probably can't even get into it now, but it's just the theming. Ellie's shaking her head now, don't get into it.

Mouselet A: It was yeah.

M2: The theming is so cool. ⁓ okay, were those your five? Okay. My five attractions. My first one is Alice's Labyrinth. This is my favorite thing at almost any Disney park. ⁓ it is so quintessentially Disney. It's so perfect. It is a hedge maze. An Alice in Wonderland hedge maze that ends with the ⁓ my god, I almost said the fat lady from Harry Potter. The Queen of Hearts. That was really confusing. The Queen of Hearts' castle.

Mouselet A: Those were. Yep.

M2: I love this. It's closed while we're there. It's actually closed for like two months or something. Luckily, luckily, luckily, I was just at Disneyland Paris last year. So it feels very fresh. Me and Mouse at once spent a very long time in that multiple times. So I can deal with that. ⁓ I'm sad. I'm sad. Because it's super cute. It's like it's a bummer. It's a big, big, big, big, big bum ski. I'm actually furious about it. You've made me enraged again. ⁓ okay, next up I will say Autopia.

Mouselet A: Again, bummed her mouse at L.

M2: ⁓ I added this to my list as we were speaking because I remembered how much you said you didn't want to ride it. I love Autopia here because I love Discoveryland. It is my favorite land. ⁓ also honorable mention to the Nautilus walkthrough, which isn't my top, but it's but I love it. Well, I will 100% do it. No. Next up, I'm gonna say Phantom Manor. That's their version of Haunted Mansion, but it's Frontierland themed. And Frontierland is my favorite land just in general at like the castle parks. It's really fun.

Mouselet A: Claustrophobic.

M2: It's a little bit scary. So if you have young kids, like I know I'll just kind of shout her out this this mom, Ariel May, who has two young daughters, and they went to Disneyland Paris a while ago, but like they do a bunch of Disney content. She didn't bring her daughters on it because she said they thought she thought they'd be too scared. I don't have kids. I'm also one used to not be able to do Haunted Mansion as a kid in general. So like if you're a mom, maybe watch the video or a dad. Watch the video, maybe get a little POV of it and see if you think your kids would like it. I love it though as as an adult. ⁓ I also had Crush Coaster. I also had Hyperspace Mountain. I'll Tower of Terror. But I think my last one that I have to say is this show called Mickey and the Magician. It is a show in Adventure World, and I'm suddenly starting to realize that I'm worried that they took this show away and I want to make sure it is still here. So I'm double checking it. It is still here. No. thank God. ⁓ my God. It's on a scheduled break from June 15th to July 31st. Woo! Wow, that would have been a disaster.

Mouselet A: ⁓ when did you s Woo, that was a close one.

M2: ⁓ I love this show. I wanted to see this show so badly. I think in twenty twenty-three, and you really didn't want to. And so I went and did something else with you and mouse at one saw and loved it. And then I got to see it last year and I said, ⁓ this was amazing. It's probably like sixty six percent, two thirds in French, maybe one third in English. You can totally understand it. It is worth seeing. We'll kinda talk about the like how the language works. I'm curious to see because I sp I speak French, like With a grain of salt, everybody listening. Like I speak some French. So like I think I can understand I can understand French pretty well. I don't s I'm kind of a choppy speaker. I I honestly I'm just really bad at like conjugating verbs. ⁓ or like tenses mostly. But I can understand most of the show. I think probably because I speak French also, but I think you'll still I think you'll like it. I think your sister I think your sister will like it more than you. I think she likes stuff like this more than you do. So you disagree? You think she's gonna hate it? ⁓ god.

Mouselet A: I think you're fluid in French. Hmm, we'll see. I don't know. I don't know.

M2: There's a lot of really fun rides there. They have really cute little dark rides. ⁓ it's a really, really fun park. I love it. I love both. Well, we didn't even mention anything in Adventure World. So the, I mean anything in the New Frozen James. Okay, in the new Adventure Plaza area, there's a Alien Swirling Saucers layover with Rapunzel. So it's like a Rapunzel tangled.

Mouselet A: Well ⁓ well oops ⁓

M2: boat thing. We'll do it. It looks cute. I want to do it at nighttime. It looks fun. I mostly'll be doing it for the content. I'm just gonna be honest. Like I just want to record it and get get the vibe of it. I don't I'm not dying to ride like alien swirling saucers. The other thing, I'm gonna admit it. A bit of a bummer that their frozen land doesn't have the roller coaster that they built in one of the I can't remember what Asian park they have frozen in Hong Kong. Kind of a bummer. Like So they just have the boat ride, which they did moest like the maelstrom layover. I mean, we just rode the boat ride recently and didn't Yeah, it didn't wow me. I loved Maelstrom. So I'm excited to try those out, but we'll see. I'm excited to try them. I'm excited to see the new frozen land. I'll say that.

Mouselet A: And I gave it a five out of ten. I definitely am excited to see the land. Also, Melissa L has not been on the frozen ride in world, so the whole thing will be new for her. So that's good. ⁓ I'm super excited for the land. I am just a little disappointed that they chose the frozen ride that they chose because that was a re-theme to begin with. So I wish they could have come up with something completely new because there's criticism about the ride in world to begin with. So

M2: ⁓ I forgot about that.

Mouselet A: I'm just like kinda surprised that's the route they took with that ride.

M2: I gonna say like they would never though. They would never. They have no reason to 'cause they already have it. It's just like it's like why would they spend the money on it when they don't need to? ⁓ yeah, that

Mouselet A: Be original. Yeah. Just because yeah. Add a couple new theme ⁓ scenes or something. Like I would have thought that they and yeah, I don't know. I'm just a little a little bummed.

M2: Well, one more thing to say I'm kind of annoyed about with Adventure Adventure World. So Adventure Way is the like land that has Rapunzel on it. They're adding an up ride. Fun, an up ride. No, it swings. It swings with an upthemed something. Like Adventure World, Walt Disney Studios, has some ⁓ I kind of told said it, like the prefab rides. That's just like they like bought it. It's like carnival rides that they themed. And I thought they were kind of getting away from that. So I don't know. I'm gonna give it a I'm gonna give it a full, like a fair chance. I'm excited to try it. We'll report back with our rating afterwards. ⁓ okay, dining. So I'm a vegetarian. Mouselit L is vegetarian-ish. Mouselit A is not. ⁓ but Disneyland Paris, it does have a vegetarian option at every single restaurant. And that is a huge, huge, huge improvement from what it was when I first went. ⁓ I basically sent every single vegetarian. option to Mouse Lit L and I said which ones sound good, which ones do not sound good. And she kind of picked a couple that she liked. And so a place that I had kind of wanted to eat again was the Ratatouille restaurant, Remy's Bistro. It's so, so cute in there. It's so fun for Ratatouille fans. Me and M1 just ate in there last year. Mouse Lit L didn't love the food option. I went back and watched the videos. I guess I wasn't super crazy, but I thought it was okay. They also aren't really big Ratatouille fans. So we're skipping that one. It's super cute. But because they're not big Ratatouille fans anyway, we're not doing that one. What we are doing is ⁓ Agraba, the Agrabah restaurant, which is a buffet. It's like Mediterranean, Middle Eastern type food. Mouselet One was like okay about it. ⁓ it's probably my favorite restaurant I've ever I don't want to hype it up too much, but I'm going to. It's one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to for Disney. It's just, I loved every single offering that they had. I was in heaven. It's my favorite type of cuisine. Are you excited for that one? I'm nervous for you, but you're newly into that type of food.

Mouselet A: Yeah, I'm like really into that type of food right now, so I'm actually like really excited for it. How does it compare to the Universal Studios restaurant we went to? I'm blanking on what it's called. Meet those, how does it compare?

M2: ⁓ good question. Me Mythos. We went to Universal. We have an episode on Universal a while back if anyone wants to listen from earlier this year. ⁓ I guess the difference is that it's again, it's not like buff well, it's sort of buffet style. It's just like smaller, like kind of plates and things. ⁓ so there's like more options. I th I mean, I think it's ⁓ on that same level. I I love to add hummus, it's pita, it had it's a smaller couscous, but like

Mouselet A: Then I'm I'm pumped. To have Tziki.

M2: It had Tziki. It had it was so So I'm really excited for them to try it. ⁓ the other thing that we're doing the other restaurant is kind of up in the air. I think we'll maybe try to do like a walk up. I really wanted to do Waltz. Like I really wanted to do Waltz, ⁓ which is on the second floor of Main Street. Mouse that A's eaten there in 2017. You probably don't remember it. Yep. Yes, you have. ⁓ no question. 100%. All right, I'll see if I can find any.

M2: Mousela L wasn't super into the vegetarian option for that one either. Honestly, like it she's not she's I wait, let me defend her. She's not picky. She's not picky. I sent her every single offering, and there were many that I also was like, I wouldn't want this, but if they really wanted to eat at this place, I would. The

Mouselet A: Time out, time out, time out, time out. I wish you had said something because I wanted to eat at Waltz based on what I saw. And I don't think when we had this one talk, I don't think Mousla L was thinking this was like a hard yes or no. I wish we were eating at Waltz.

M2: The vegetable Well, that's what saying. Because I booked something else that I think we'll all like more. But I was gonna say about Waltz is I think what makes it you wanna like the food. So if it everyone was a non vegetarian, but like to be clear, I'll eat anything but this because I've been a bunch. I want it to be a place that she can enjoy. Vegetarians sometimes get the shaft because there's only one option, and I want it to be something she can enjoy. I'll just eat something and and she would too. She would just eat it if she needed to. But if there's something that you guys liked more, it's not like Waltz is

Mouselet A: Yes, they do.

M2: that special inside for necessarily like so it's kind of like a dressed up version of Carnation Cafe at Disneyland 'cause it's inside. It's like kinda like the plaza, I guess.

Mouselet A: ⁓ I thought it kind of was. Okay.

M2: I wanted to want to eat a waltz. Waltz isn't available, so no worries there. ⁓ let's see, what did they have? I think it was ⁓ you know what it was? They had like a it was some sort of like mac and cheese with something in it, and they had some like weird vegetarian thing you had to order off the menu. That's like I think what that one was. I might not have even sent that one. Anyway, Mausla L is not picky, to be clear. I just wanted to make sure because a lot of the vegetarian meals there are like kind of Basic. I wanted to find stuff that she would like. So the other thing I booked us is the, I guess like the Pirates of the Caribbean, ⁓ the Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant, whatever that one is called. I don't know if we'll keep that reservation. I don't know that much about it. So that kind of second one is up in the air. Quick service to kind of run through those. I remember in 2017, you don't remember this.

Mouselet A: Subpar. I remember this. I remember this. Are you not talking about the stew or like the soup or the stew? Yes, I remember this. I remember this.

M2: Yes it had yes, it had bean lima beans in it. I just mentioned ⁓ okay, okay. You can tell it then.

Mouselet A: Well well well, I actually don't know what story you wanted to say, but I just remember we couldn't figure out what to eat for the life of us. And I remember Mael Slit three was like, ⁓ and we all I think a couple of us got soup, this like stew in a bread bowl. But like I don't think s one of you liked it. I just you could tell the rest of the story, but I remember that so vividly. Okay, it was me. It was definitely me.

M2: You hated. You hated it. You hated. It was you. ⁓ back in the day and Disneyland Paris still has this what's the word like this a reputation of having bad food. And it has, guys, it has improved so much. Because in 2014 and in twenty seventeen the food wasn't that good. And I remember, yes, you guys got a lima bean bread bowl and you hated it. You hated it. I had there was almost nothing I could eat as a vegetarian. Like

Mouselet A: Classic.

M2: Basically close to nothing. Not even like salad. Like I was eating like leaves of lettuce and like I was starving. Like I was ravenous. That's totally changed. Every restaurant has a vegetarian option. Like vegan, I don't I don't know quite as much. Like there's cheese and stuff, but I think you could make it make it work. ⁓ The food is a lot better now. Me and Mouslet one found a quick service place that we loved. It's over in Frontierland. It is I don't know. I call it Coco's the Coco Cocos Place. That's what it's called in my mind. That's definitely not the name of it. It's burritos. They have a vegetarian burrito. It's very good. They have like a beef and a chicken burrito. They're very good. They're quick service. They're like wrapped up. They're probably made somewhere else. They're good. The nachos, repulsive. So don't get those there. ⁓ I would definitely want to eat there. For some reason, I don't know if the two of you will, but there's a lot of quick service spots that you can kind of there's also Toad Manor.

Mouselet A: I'd eat there.

M2: Which is like English, British food. We love Mr. Toad. So we have to pop in there. There's a lot of good options now. Jay Thaddeus, she just showed a Funko pop of Mr. Toad in case you're not watching on video. ⁓ there's a lot of pretty good quick service options. There's another place over in Adventureland that I really like that has like a really cool backstory. In general, the food is completely Magic Kingdom level.

Mouselet A: We love Mr. Toad. It looks like they've added a couple I know they've added a sit down restaurant in Adventure World. ⁓ I've had my eyes on this quick service spot that again with bread bowls, but it looks like they have a couple different offerings in bread bowls that actually look pretty good. So I'm hoping to get something there too, ⁓ on our trip.

M2: Yeah, there are there are good options. Snacks. They're decent snack options now, actually. They're kind of starting to incorporate like snacks, which they never really did before. Over near Ratatouille, they have really good crepes. So those were really good. ⁓ they also have stuff on Main Street, which were pretty good. They have a beignet in the shape of a Mickey. It's not good. It's garbage. It tastes like a donut from Dunkin' Donuts in like a not a good way. So only get it if you want a donut. Don't get it if you want a beignet. Do remember that?

Mouselet A: Yeah, I would say I don't know if garbage is the right word. It's a donut, it's not a beignet. Correct. They should just call it a donut, 'cause it's I think it's a fine donut.

M2: As far as a beignet goes, it's a garbage beignet. Yeah, it's a donut. It tastes just like a decent donut, yes. ⁓ they also have like fun Mickey shaped ⁓ like kind of pretzel bread sandwiches there. Those are decent. ⁓ they have some like the snack game is improving. That's what I'll say. The snack game is improving. The last thing I want to talk about related to food, Americans, the coffee. Okay. I know that many of us like to go to Main Street and we'll go to or Joffrey's or Starbucks and we'll carry our coffee around the parks. ⁓ you cannot do that. In Disneyland Paris, they will give you a plastic cup. First of all, they don't have any iced coffee, which is like whatever. But they'll give you a plastic cup with no lid because they don't use disposable cups there, which is great. ⁓ the coffee is not too good. It's not like a latte. It's like I think it's like a cup of coffee. They don't have any they don't have almond milk at all. They don't have oat milk anywhere in the Disney park.

Mouselet A: Did they have soy? Did they have s ⁓

M2: that at least they didn't even have soy milk at they didn't even have soy milk when I was there, but ⁓ they had nothing. I we went into some weird little place on Main Street. Me and Mouse Little One called like Victoria's or something. In my mind it was called Victoria's. And I'm trying to find it. There's nothing called Victoria's. So I forget it. I don't remember what it's called. And we ordered these like crazy drinks. Mouselit one got like a brownie coffee milkshake or something. And I got a giant blue stitch themed soda because they felt bad for me that there wasn't any coffee. ⁓ I mean I could have had a black coffee. I just didn't want a black coffee. So I know Mouselet one or Mouselet A, I and Mouselet L are huge coffee drinkers. In the Disney Village, which we'll talk about in a minute, there's a Starbucks. I mean, we're not anywhere near the Disney Village because we're staying at the Disneyland Hotel, but there is a Starbucks there. You can get coffee. You can get a cup of coffee. You're just not getting like your American like ice latte. Okay. So just

Mouselet A: True. Shoot. Mm-hmm.

M2: Bring that bring that mindset going in.

Mouselet A: It was just funny. I remember in twenty twenty three being there, we we did stop in the Starbucks in Disney Village and I brought my coffee in and I think it was iced. I think it was a refresher or something. Yeah, yeah. So we were in the we went to the Starbucks and I remember because I was waiting, you guys were in the bathroom, and I was waiting holding my Starbucks and this this girl in like a what I thought was a British accent came over to me and she said, Where did you get that? Where did you get that? And I said, ⁓ it's in the

M2: You can get you can get it from Starbucks. You can get it from Starbucks. Well. People are des people are desperate.

Mouselet A: I said, Disney Village She ⁓ right outside the park. I said, Yes. It was like, ⁓ my God, where'd you get that Starbucks? It was it was funny. So I just remember I remember that was like a big deal.

M2: Okay, I feel like we've been mentioning Disney Village a bunch, so let's just quickly do a little overview. Disney Village is like their downtown Disney. ⁓ it is I really like I think you you always love those little areas though. Do you remember it much?

Mouselet A: I do. yes, I do again, my only ⁓ quote unquote complaint, if you will, is I wish we had more time in it the last time because I think a lot of it are restaurants. So if we're not eating, then doesn't make sense. But I like I would like to explore it more, just to understand it a little more, go in the shops a little bit more, but I do kind of remember it.

M2: Shop, shop. I think there's like one shop and it's World of Disney. It's a great world of Disney, though. It's a really good world of Disney. ⁓ they have a balloon, like just like they have at Disney Springs. I'm like, it's called the Panorama Magique. It's a hot air balloon, which is fun. They have a Rainforest Cafe, they have a McDonald's, and I remember this because me and Mouse one were starving for some reason. And she really wanted to go to McDonald's, and I was like, Yeah, I can't do it. I mean, I don't eat McDonald's, but she got something, I think.

Mouselet A: Yeah. ⁓ okay. Okay, I wanna spend good time in there. Whoa.

M2: They have a American-themed restaurant called Billy Bob's Country Western Saloon, which is so funny because if you look at it, it literally looks like them trying to like stereotype stereotype America. It's it's funny. ⁓ they also have a a pub, the Royal Pub. It's it's fun. It's like a fun area. I think it's like a good spot to spend some time in. I wouldn't make a trip like from Paris just to go to Disney Village and not go to the parks though, to be clear.

Mouselet A: It's hilarious. America.

M2: It's just like if you're there, it's a good little area to spend time in. I think they also have a movie theater. I'm not seeing it on the map, but in my mind, ⁓ actually, you know what? I'm so stand corrected. They other stores. I forgot they added all these other little stores, and they actually have a couple of good stores now. So it is a cute. Okay. Couple other things. ⁓ pin trading. So pin trading at Disney World is scrapper central. Disneyland Paris has like a vetting process for fake pins.

Mouselet A: Correct. ⁓ good. We'll have to go.

M2: Which makes it really fun to actually trade because you're only trading real pins most of the time. ⁓ so I really liked that. And we'll see what we get with with pin trading and what we can find. I have a handful of pins that I'm ready to kind of trade. So I'm excited. You excited?

Mouselet A: Mm. Yes, I hope we get some good ones.

M2: Nighttime Spectaculars. My favorite fireworks show of all time is at the ⁓ Disneyland Park, the Castle Park. Unfortunately, they took away the drones because they moved them over to the Adventure World show because they only have one drone launch pad. But I still I that's a must see for me. I must see that show. I actually love that show so much I would consider seeing that show twice and not even seeing the Adventure World show, but I have to see that one too. So we'll be seeing both Nighttime Spectaculars.

Mouselet A: Mm. Ooh I wasn't mentally preparing for that.

M2: Well, we're seeing both.

Mouselet A: Okay.

M2: ⁓ okay, I guess my fine before I want to get into some FAQs that people kinda asked, what do you think Mousel L is gonna think kind of in comparison 'cause she's been to Disneyland by herself also for work trips. She's been to World a couple of times now. Good instinct, she's new. What do you think she's gonna think? I have some thoughts, but I wanna hear what you think 'cause you obviously know her better.

Mouselet A: I think she's going to find it fun to see to compare like how similar things are similar but different. Like for example, I think she found it really entertaining the first time she went to Disneyland to then compare it to world, like, ⁓ this is just different enough and this is how they put a spin on, you know, whatever. I think she'll find that fun. I don't think it's going to be her favorite park the way it's your favorite park. But I think I think she's going to have fun though. I think sh I I'm the one thing we haven't mentioned that I'm a little bummed about, there's construction going on right in front of the Disneyland castle. And I'm just bummed about that, just like for your first like it's a beautiful castle, so that part's a little bit of a bummer too, but I think ⁓

M2: I agr I definitely agree. Yeah, that's a bummer.

Mouselet A: Yeah, I don't know. I don't think it's gonna be her favorite, but I think she's definitely going to have fun. So I'm ex I'm just excited for her to to experience it.

M2: Yeah. I am super curious what she thinks. I feel like I will admit about Disneyland Paris, which you were saying to me earlier, we haven't really talked about it on the on the pond yet, but there's not I don't want to say there's not that much to do, but there's not as much to do. Like I touched on it with the castle park. There's only four lands. There's still a bunch of stuff to do, but it's almost like it's almost like kind of when you go to like Hollywood studios. Like there's not Hollywood, you're kinda gonna Do close to everything in the park, you know? Like you're not gonna do maybe all the shows, but you're gonna do most of the rides generally. Like you're gonna do most of the things. Whereas Magic Kingdom for us, you're not gonna do everything in Magic Kingdom in one day. It literally wouldn't be possible. It's more aligned with like Hollywood Studios that you're gonna do most of the things, you know? And that's different than like Disneyland or Magic Kingdom. So I wonder if she'll and then also the other thing is like obviously I I mean, obviously I'm like a a die hard Disney fan. I mean, duh but The details of the park I love. I think you have started to appreciate the details. I actually think that she has kind of started and her husband, brother in law mouse mouse ⁓ I think that they've started to kind of appreciate the details. So I'm curious if they do you don't think? Yeah. ⁓ so I'm very curious to see what she thinks. And I'm curious to see what we think of the adventure world. Anything else about her before we get into yeah.

Mouselet A: Sp Especially after going to Universal. Yeah. I think she's gonna like Adventure World. And I think that after being in like the city of Paris, if you speak no French, and you get into Disneyland, you'll be like, ⁓ because almost every cast member speaks English. Every single cast member there, it's b I I would say it's I think it's a requirement. It's like basically a requirement. A cast member told us this last time. They have to speak at least two. if not three languages that are spoken in like the European Union. So French, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, whatever it is, most of them speak two, three, four languages. ⁓ there are some cast members that English is not their strongest language, and they'll turn to another one. There's a couple of cast members I met that spoke English pretty poorly, but I mean mostly everyone speaks English pretty well. The

Mouselet A: And and also I don't know if you're gonna touch on this, but the park itself is like half English, half French. So it's not like if you're on a ride, some of the rides and like the music track, some of them are fully English, some of them are fully French, and some of them is literally a mix where like like one verse is French, the next verse is English, or there's one scene in Mickey's and speaking French and the next scene Minnie speaking English. So it's like a blended

M2: Yeah. Most of them are mixed, yeah.

Mouselet A: It's very blended.

M2: Like on the Buzz Lightyear ride, they have the Buzz Lightyear animatronic, and he'll speak in you know, instructions in English, and then he'll speak it in French. It's basically just in English and French, though. ⁓ they speak all and it's and it's it's British. Like it's ever all the English speaking is with a British accent. ⁓ so all of the like ride announcements and stuff, yeah, it's all it's br which makes sense. ⁓ every single restaurant has ⁓ an English menu or a French menu. ⁓ again, most of the rides.

Mouselet A: Yeah.

M2: And shows you can pretty much enjoy, like the nighttime shows. They're half English, half French. You can you can really enjoy it. There's only a couple of things. I can't even remember what they are that I was like, ⁓ this is almost all in French. ⁓ so you know, you do not need to speak French. You will be totally fine. Is it worth the visit? Yes. Yep. Skip that one. ⁓ the climate. It's cooler. It's cooler than Florida, it's cooler than California, colder. ⁓ and so like.

Mouselet A: Yes, yes.

M2: Disney knew that. Most of the resorts have indoor pools. I I think almost every single resort that has a pool has an indoor pool. In general, it just gets colder. I mean, it will snow sometimes in the winter there. So something to obviously like check the weather, but on those rainy days, it feels cold. Bundle up. I mean, I when I've been there a bunch of times, I'm wearing like a hat and gloves. That's why I would recommend to go ⁓ in the summer. I think like June and July is the perfect time to go if you can. That's like my favorite time. Do you agree?

Mouselet A: Agreed. I mean, we had an amazing time last July. Like I can't i i amazing. So

M2: Yeah, summer I think is like is a is a great time to go. ⁓ is the food really that bad? Again, it had this stigma that the food is bad because the food was bad. The food is not bad anymore. In my mind, it is very Magic Kingdom level. Magic Kingdom is Skipper Canteen, which is some good food, and then it has, you know, cosmic rays, which is not so good. It feels maybe even a little bit better than Magic in some ways. Like it's not bad. It's fine. Some of it's even good.

Mouselet A: Is there is alcohol, correct?

M2: Yeah. You can drink a glass of champagne on Main Street USA. I think it's the only park in the world you can drink a glass of champagne on Main Street USA. It's fun. Last time me and Melissa won didn't do it because she was pregnant. She was with a child. ⁓ how do you get there? All right. I'm gonna do a whole video on this. So you guys can like take take notes if you're going there. Honestly, DM. I'm happy to like type this out to people too. But if you're flying in directly to Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport,

Mouselet A: Wow, that's cute. She was with child.

M2: You can take the Tejve, the T G V ⁓ is what it's called. It is a high speed train line. It will get you there in like 15 minutes. It's super, super fast. It is by far the easiest. So, so so easy. Pretty sure like Mama Mousla did it by herself. Like it's super simple to do. So if you're flying into Paris, this is why I wanted to start when I told you I wanted to start at Disneyland Paris. We couldn't because we're getting 'cause we would miss part of a day. It would have been a waste of a ticket. It just didn't make sense.

Mouselet A: Yo. No, now that I'm now that you're saying this, I'm like, wait, why aren't we doing this?

M2: We would have been tired to do a Disney park on our first day into Paris.

Mouselet A: So when said we're gonna be tired in the city of Paris.

M2: 'Cause we'll have a break, we'll get to check it's different, it's different.

Mouselet A: I'm scratching my head with this one. I don't know about this.

M2: Paris is free to do those activities and Disneyland Paris cost a ticket.

Mouselet A: Hmm Well, it doesn't matter anyway, 'cause now it's booked, but I'm not sure. And if we did switch it, we would have gotten to go on Hyperspace Mountain.

M2: I recommend if you're taking a red eye to not start with Disneyland Paris. You will be tired and you will not have as much fun. but if you're flying Charles de Gaulle, the TGV, you could also take there's other types of transportation. You can take something called the magical shuttle bus, which is kind of like the magical express. ⁓ I would just take the TGV, honestly. ⁓ you can also take the RER. Don't take that from Charles de Gaulle. Just to be clear, if you're going from Charles de Gaulle, just take the TGV. Don't take an Uber, don't take a car. That's so, so, so easy. All right, if you're coming, well, yeah, I'm gonna talk about it. If we're coming from the center of Paris, then it's a little different. Currently, there's not a high-speed train that gets you there. That's going to change in about a year in 2027. But currently there's not a high speed train. You can Uber, Lyft, take a bus. I'll talk about this in a minute. But the best way to get there is something called the RER. The RER is basically the Metro but extended. I don't actually know what it stands for, but it's like like in Boston, it's like our commuter rail.

Mouselet A: And the RER, I just wanna make sure you said it is okay.

M2: New York it'd be like the Metro North. Like it just goes fur it's a train line that goes further out. Commuter rail. It's not that expensive. It's above ground. The trains are decent. They're like double decker trains. ⁓ it basically is used for people who live outside the city to like commute into the city. It's also goes directly to Disneyland Paris. It drops you off at Disney Village. It is the last stop, which is very convenient because you just ride the R E R A, the A line, don't take the B line. The A line

Mouselet A: Commuter rail, yeah. Above ground.

M2: Can ride it all the way there. The A-line even has a little Mickey mouse for you to follow because they knew that people would need help getting there. Don't be intimidated by the RER. It's really easy. There's a bunch of stops that you can get to it. It's you can get in met from metro stations if you know where you're going. I would just say keep your wits about you, or whatever that expression is. It's so much safer than I feel like people told us like 10 years ago. It doesn't feel really scary, but like. It is public transportation. I don't feel nervous on it, but I know everyone always says to like be careful about it. Like you were nervous on it last time we went on the RER. It's totally fine, but y I know you were a little nervous.

Mouselet A: Yeah, but when you compare it and when you when explaining it, comparing it to like a commuter rail, it does really compare to like a commuter rail if we're talking northeast, like going into New York City from from a suburb. Like it's more like that. I I think I at first thought it was like going on like a subway where it's a little bit different. So it's it's more like a commuter rail. If you have that in mind, like it was really smooth. Keep it wits about you just in general. So like I don't yeah, I don't want there to be a bad stigma, like Just in general you always should, especially when you're traveling. So, ⁓ yeah, it worked out really well.

M2: But what I will say about last time I was there, we were with Disneyland Paris. And so we took a bus, like all of us together. And the city of Paris has made some amazing, amazing improvements recently. I love them. That they've converted many of their roadways to be bike, pedestrian, bus, sort of, certain buses, and taxi only. ⁓ and what it means is that they've bottlenecked all of their streets. Like they don't want you to drive, they want you to Take the metro, they want you bike, they want you to walk. They don't want you driving in the city. So if you try to take a bus or an Uber or a Lyft or whatever, you know, a ride share, I don't remember what the name of the ride share is, but I actually I think Yeah. Yeah, my people. I think they have Uber too. If you take that, it took us an hour and forty. It took us basically a full hour longer and crawling, crawling through traffic to go 20 miles. ⁓ my god, you couldn't pay me a million dollars to ever take a car again there.

Mouselet A: Bolt? Isn't it bolt?

M2: No matter what, even with kids, even with the family, I would hop aboard the RER and pop on over. So much better. So so so much better.

Mouselet A: Do you remember for comparison what, like an RER ticket from like city center to Disneyland costs?

M2: No, I don't, but it was not. It's not as much as my commuter rail pass costs, which is I feel like it's like ten bucks I feel like it's ten bucks. In in my mind it's ten bucks. I don't know. The R E R I'm gonna look it up for you guys. RER A line ticket costs. I I don't remember exactly how much it costs. This this says it costs two dollars and fifty five cents, regardless of any distance traveled. It's not expensive. So ⁓ it's cheap.

Mouselet A: So say like under ten dollars one way? Say like yeah, like say like ten dollars a person. Wow, yeah, it's cheap.

M2: It is cheap. Okay, a couple of other questions. This is another one. A lot of people ask this. Are the cast members rude? I think that again, Disneyland Paris kind of has this reputation of like the food isn't good. The cast members are rude. No, honestly, the cast members are not rude ⁓ at all. Like I I I haven't experienced that at all. I think at Walt Disney World specifically, the cast members go like above and beyond. Like, hi princess, how like this. And French culture just necessarily isn't that, but everyone is very friendly, very helpful. I've never had that experience. So ⁓ okay. Booking process. This is just one last thing I kind of want to touch on, and then we'll get into our special segment or we'll we'll close out with any other thoughts. But just to just so you know, to book it, if you don't want to book a ticket and hotel package and say the reason I didn't want to do that is because, well, maybe this would have made sense actually, had we If you book a ticket in hotel package, you get for two nights at a hotel, you get three tickets. So you're getting the check-in day and the checkout day. So you're getting three days for two Yeah, for two nights at the hotel. So like that didn't really make sense for our trip because we're staying three nights in the hotel but only doing two tickets. So it didn't fully make sense for us to do that. And I actually I still kind of stand by that. Like it's hard to kind of truncate the day on either side. It makes you feel like you're not getting your ticket worth. Anyway, if you don't want to buy the package ⁓ you contact Disneyland Paris, you literally, if you contact them directly, because I did it before and I just did it again, they will tell you you need to go book on hotels.com or Expedia to book your hotel. And you do. You can buy tickets on their website, but you have to book your hotel on Expedia or Hotels dot com. ⁓ that is what Disney literally tells you. I know that's very different. That's the reality of it. There's no renting D V C points, there's no like there's no undercover tourists, there's nothing like that. It's Expedia and hotels dot com. And that's it. So I booked it off of hotels dot com. ⁓ and a lot of people are doing that, and I bought my tickets from the from Disney exactly. So I know that's kind of like a weird caveat. I just want to make sure everyone understood that. ⁓ okay. Anything else? Anything else we wanted to touch on, kind of with our big old overview.

Mouselet A: I think just the last thing is like if you're trying to fit Disneyland into your European trip, how long? Can you do it in one day? I think we would did you already touch on this, you're gonna say? I agree that I think, even though earlier I think I was saying like, ⁓ do we really need two days? But we've been there. But I I I'm saying that from the perspective of being there before. I do think two days. Two days, say one day per park, just just

M2: I No, no, I was gonna say two days. Thank you, thank you.

Mouselet A: to ⁓ make sure you have enough time to do everything you wanna do. Maybe you wanna go back and do something a second time. So if you have two days to be able to work it in, ⁓ that's what I think we would recommend. But I don't think you need more than that.

M2: If you don't have two days, yeah. If you don't have two days, I was gonna say the biggest advice I would give you is do not try to go from Paris in the morning to Disneyland Paris and then back out to Paris at nighttime. That's gonna just waste so much time. If you have one day, I would say you actually do one day in the park, two nights at the hotel, come in the night before. You can come in late. We always go in late. Wake up. The parks open kind of like oddly late, actually. Like the park's open very, very late, or at least sometimes much late like Not like our 7 30 Animal Kingdom time. You have time in the morning a little bit. I would come in, I would go or sorry, I would stay come in the night before, stay at the hotel, go to the park all day at nighttime, go back to your hotel and leave in the morning. That's what we're doing. If you only want to do one day, that's the best way. ⁓ that's the best way to do it. So three nights, three days at the parks. I mean, you could, but there's so many other things to see in Europe. Like I I really don't think you need to. Unless you were doing kind of a different type of trip. You want to spend a lot of time at your hotel, whatever, but yeah, I think two days is kind of that is kind of that sweet spot. So yeah, anything else?

Mouselet A: Yeah. No, not that I can think of. I think we covered it all.

M2: No, I guess that's ⁓ it seems like yeah, it opens at like anywhere between 9 30 and 10 o'clock, but there's extra magic hours if you stay on site just for reference to those park hours I mentioned. So all right. Let's get into a little short special segment. I've prepared a little miniature game, this or that, and I want us to basically compare and rank things between the different parks that are like similar between the different parks. ⁓ so I'll start off with the first question. We'll both answer, but I'll I'll lead it. Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris, which is ⁓ goes upside down and very, very fun. Space Mountain at Disneyland, which is two seaters and go is very different than our Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom, or Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. You can rank them, you can pick one, it'll I'll let you do whichever you want.

Mouselet A: So can I answer now? Okay. I ⁓ I'm having a hard time remembering Disneyland, ⁓ California. actually, I'm kind of having a hard time remembering it.

M2: Yeah. ⁓ Remember you go into the boarding area, you walk downstairs you walk upstairs for a while? No, okay.

Mouselet A: I'm having a hard time remembering it to be honest. So I think I'm gonna put that one last just because I need to refresh my memory next time I'm there. I'm going to put hyperspace at two because I've only read it once and I don't think I could take it all in. And there's like a Star, I think there's a Star Wars. Is there a Star Wars overlay now?

M2: Mm. Hyperspace, yeah, yeah, they renamed it the hyperspace. That's okay.

Mouselet A: ⁓ right, duh, sorry. ⁓ so I know that a lot of people love that one, but I'm having a hard time remembering details and I just know that you can't you can't miss at Space Mountain at Disney World. So I'm gonna go number one Disney World.

M2: I'm gonna agree. Number one at Disney World. Now, had they not I love Star Wars, but had they not re-themed Hyperspace Mountain to Star Wars and they left it as Space Mountain, Mission Two, which was like Lunar De la Terre or something. Terra de Terra La Lune, that was the name of it, had a really, really cool backstory. That might have been my number one, but because they redid to Hyperspace Mountain, that's my number two. And Space at Disneyland is my number three just because Although I like it, it just feels like a random roller. It doesn't have that same space feel to me. This is all right, I'm gonna put this one to the end, actually. ⁓ Main Street at Disneyland Paris. Disneyland or Magic Kingdom? I can start on this one. Magic Kingdom is the worst. Magic Kingdom Main Street is awful. It's so commercialized. They've stripped all character from it. ⁓ Disneyland Paris, I think is. I think it's my number two.

Mouselet A: think you should go yeah, you go first.

M2: Although I love the like arcades in the back, there's a lot of things I love about the Disneyland Paris Main Street. ⁓ the stores are so cute and they have so much character and they're smaller. Disneyland Main Street for me, it just can't be beat. It is just so quintessentially like Walt and Disney that that has to be my number one.

Mouselet A: I'm going Disneyland number one, Disney World number two, but mainly just because I can't remember Disneyland Paris. So I'm putting that at number three. We should do this again after the trip.

M2: ⁓ okay. All right. We should do this again after, I guess. ⁓ okay. I don't think you're gonna be able to do this, but there's like a lot of train lore last time we were at Disneyland Paris. I get train at DLP Disneyland or Magic.

Mouselet A: Okay. Land number one. Right? They have they have like the more scenes and Disneyland number one. I have no memory of Paris, I'm sorry, that's three. And ⁓ World is two for me.

M2: Mm-hmm, I agree. They have the like exhibits, yes, the Grand Canyon and the dinosaurs. I'm sorry, but I have to. When we were at Disneyland Paris, I think we were there for three days total, the line for the train at all times was insanely long. So much that I was like, what is so special about this train? It was like a bloodbath to get in line when they finally opened it. We sprinted across the park. We go and we get in line. It's a 40 minute wait for this train, a 40 minute wait. We get onto the train and it takes us around the park, and there's nothing to see or do. You literally are looking at like trees. You see small world. ⁓ it was so confusing that we were like, what are we missing? Like what is going on? I have some v I'm so I don't know. That is my number three. I it is a must do for me on this trip just because I'm like

Mouselet A: What do you think you were missing? Do you think there was something you were missing?

M2: I don't know no, I'm like everybody, what are you doing? No, I have no idea. It was crazy. It was so weird. We had no idea what was going on. And I remember the Lost Burrow said the same thing too. They that they were there and they were like, ⁓ my god, this the train is the most popular attraction. I mean, I love a train. There is nothing special about that. It's a train. That's number three. I agree with your ranking. Okay. I I I don't know if you'll do this one. The fireworks show, I'm just gonna say the Disneyland Paris fireworks show is my favorite fireworks show of all time. Then Magic Kingdom. I like never watch the fireworks of Disneyland. I've never seen Wonders of Whatever. That's my number three.

Mouselet A: Hey, I like World of Color at Disneyland. But f fireworks I would I think I would agree. I would say Paris one, World Two, Land Three.

M2: That's true. I like World of Color. Haunted Mansion or Phantom Manor?

Mouselet A: I'm sorry again. I I I'm I'm sorry, I d I don't remember the difference between ⁓ So, ⁓ I don't know.

M2: This is funny. You were only there a couple of years ago. You p Phantom Manor is incredible. No question. I think that I'm gonna try to get Miyu and Mousla L to fit three across in a Doom Bucky. Just cause it'd be more fun. I don't wanna ride it alone. But I don't wanna make either of you ride it alone either. So I'll ride it alone if I need to, though. That one's by far the best. Okay, this one I think you should remember. Small world at the three. Disneyland Paris wins for me, then Disneyland, then World. World's last. World's last.

Mouselet A: Yeah, I okay. Yeah, I wanna Think I'm putting Yeah, I was gonna say World's Last. I think I'll put Paris one, Disneyland two. Yeah.

M2: The one thing I'll say about world is that our water extends all the way across the scenes, and at Disneyland in Paris, you're just in a little canal, which I don't like as much. ⁓ okay, a couple more. Peter Pan's flight.

Mouselet A: I think Peter Pan's better at Disneyland, right? Yeah. Right?

M2: Ven World? Yeah. Well, yes.

Mouselet A: ⁓ but I'm sorry, I don't remember the rest.

M2: ⁓ my god. ⁓ okay. Yes, I think it's Disneyland then

Mouselet A: To be fair, I think I missed Peter Pan last trip when I was sick.

M2: It's very similar at Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, so I'll kind of put them like side by side. ⁓ okay, I added one. Blanche Neige, Snow White. We're gonna be able to do it at DLP because it's closed, but it's the old scary version. I mostly just wanted to say that, versus the new one at Disneyland. I like the scary version more, so that's my winner. But it's closed, which sucks. Two more. Tomorrowland or Discovery Land?

Mouselet A: Yeah, I've Tomorrow land for me.

M2: Discovery land for me.

Mouselet A: Hmm, Tomorrowland's still just like my v my vibe. So

M2: Well tomorrow land at magic, tomorrow land at Disneyland or Discovery Land. 'Cause I'm gonna go Discoveryland for theming, then tomorrow land at magic, and then tomorrow I'll end at Disneyland, which is abysmal. But you'd swap my okay.

Mouselet A: I Y I would agree with that. I w I would put magic one. I'll put DLP two.

M2: Alright, last one. The castle. Paris, California or magic.

Mouselet A: Ca Paris number one, Paris number one, world number two, land number three.

Mouselet A: Tomorrow when we're recording this. ⁓ but it's embarrassing and it's frustrating to me.

M2: We got it repaired and then it wasn't fully repaired and so I had to like text the repair man and then he's coming again. ⁓ when we were we went on a walk and we were walking back to the house, we were like loudly having a conversation, hoping our neighbors would hear, 'cause our neighbors I've mentioned this before, they're they're like they're around. They can hear us. Whatever. And we were like, ⁓ my gosh, like our lawnmower being broken, it's the worst just hoping that they would be like

Mouselet A: Thank goodness it's getting repaired soon or we would never can't wait to mow this lawn tomorrow.

M2: Tomorrow we'll fix this mess. ⁓ my god. ⁓ okay. Shall we end with a fact of the day? I'm gonna do a basic one. This is barely a fact. It's just something we neglected to mention, which is the fact that underneath Sleeping Beauty Castle is La Tenere du Dragon, which is the dragon's lair, and it is a giant animatronic dragon.

Mouselet A: Yes, we should.

M2: That is so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so cool. ⁓ there's gonna be something kind of similar in Animal Kingdom with like the Beastly Kingdom area. I guess that's my like fact, but I feel like we neglected to mention this. It's such a cool part. I'm gonna call that my fact.

Mouselet A: Good one. I'm gonna go on a similar ⁓ path that I feel like a lot of people talk about this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. You can actually see the Eiffel Tower from in Disneyland Park if you go on ⁓ the Swiss family I'm gonna say it in French, the Le Cabin de Robinson. Is that the ⁓ the treehouse?

M2: La cabinet, yeah. Mm-hmm.

Mouselet A: If you climb up there, you can really zoom in and actually see the Eiffel Tower. So that's fun.

M2: That's cool. It's gonna be kind of like a little cloudy when we're there. So I wonder if we'll be able to see it. But I'm hoping the clouds kind of burst through. But anyway, that is our that is our deep dive and our I guess our intro really into Disneyland Paris. So as I mentioned, next week we'll be in Disneyland Paris.
