M1: Welcome back to another episode of Sisters Sisters, or this week should I say, Sister Brother. Because I am joined today by my brother, Mouselit 3. Mouselit 2 is currently on her trip to Europe. As we have talked about, if you've listened to the last couple weeks' episodes, she is currently in Europe. ⁓ and so I am back from my Europe trip, and therefore Mouse Lit 3 is pinch hitting. ⁓ welcome, Mouselit 3.

Mouselet 3: Heyy Hey, thanks for having me. Yeah, it's very confusing to keep up with all of your trips, I will say. I know you do sort of the best you can, like trying to, you know, not announce the next trip before this trip, but yeah, just in case you're a little lost, Mouselit one last week was in England for something non Disney related, right?

M1: Yeah, for a wedding.

Mouselet 3: For a wedding and then mouse lit two and mouse lit A are in Europe right now. They're going to or they were in Paris, Disneyland Paris. And if you're listening to this on the day this comes out on Thursday, they're traveling to London today. And then they'll come home after that.

M1: Yes. We are going to actually do our quarterly bonus episode for our Patreon Peach Crew on our Europe trip. So if you're curious about kind of hearing the full deep dive on those and some of the behind the scenes and stuff, we're gonna do that there. But for today, the one thing I wanted to discuss about that trip was the London Disney store. I did an Instagram post about this. And ⁓ albeit we are not huge merch people. I'm not like keeping up with the merch trends because we're not we don't really buy merch like that. So like maybe some of these things I have just missed, but the London Disney store had such an amazing selection of stuff. Specifically, they had so, so, so many keychains, keychains and bag charms that I like swear they do not have in the United States. They don't have them in the Disney parks at least, or they didn't as of last time I was there last month for sure. And then my SumeSoom Flowers, if you're watching on video, I aren't they.

Mouselet 3: ⁓ they're cute.

M1: They're so cute. So I got the three pink ones, which is Lazzo, Marie, and Piglet. I got the three pink ones to match my office, but they had a bunch. And you can like make bouquets out of them. I have seen these on social media. I don't know where else they sell them, but I had not personally ever seen them in person before. And I think they're so, so, so cute. So they had these.

Mouselet 3: Wait, they are cute. I kind of thought that those were the flowers from Alice in Wonderland until I saw Lotso's face on that on that dark pink flower and then I realized these are actual characters. Who's the one in the top? The what the ⁓ Marie. Okay. Okay. It's giving Hello Kitty. But Piglet's giving Piglet looks like a pig. Not a Piglet, he looks like a pig. Lotso's the be Lotso's the best one. They a great job with Lotso. I love that one.

M1: Yeah. Marie from the Aristacats and then Piglet. well yeah. Okay, well they're su they're soomes. But I loved these, and then they also had so much like specific London and UK merch. So I will say I used to work very close to the Disney store in Times Square. So I'd go over there sometimes. And they do have like a good New York line. They have like mini as the Statue of Liberty and stuff. But I don't know why. I just like didn't really expect that in London. So they had like I'm holding up another little keychain. This is like Beef Eater Mickey, I think it's so weird that this is called a beef eater. Did you know that? Like it's like Yeah, apparently. Yes.

Mouselet 3: Me too. No, I it I like w a royal guard is called a beef eater? Like the proper noun for it is beef eater. I feel like I've only heard why wouldn't they call it Royal Guard, Mickey? I

M1: I don't know, I think it's really weird, but yeah, like this guy, the royal guard with the big tall furry black hat, Mickey. They had Minnie as the queen, they had Mickey as like another type of little like UK guy. It was so cute. They had so much merch. They had a Winnie the Pooh London line, and then they had some pins. So I got this one. Can you see it? Yeah. Which is Mickey and Minnie in London. It says London, England. It was like the st

Mouselet 3: I wonder if do they have Disney stores in what like what other countries where there are not Disney parks do they have Disney stores in? Like a like do you think there's a Disney store in Germany or Spain? And if so, do they have German specific merch? Like that how far does this go? I'm very interested in this.

M1: There are very few. I'm pretty sure they're they're right. There used to be a Disney store in the Champs d'Elysées in Paris. I do not know if it's still there. They've closed a ton of Disney stores. So I'm I could see them having like a Paris line, I guess. But yeah, like do they have like a Berlin line? That seems more niche, perhaps. ⁓ I don't know if there's a Berlin Disney store, to be clear. I've actually no idea. ⁓ but literally we got there. We weren't intending to go there. ⁓ C and I had the Micklet with us. And so we were only using accessible stations, like

Mouselet 3: I do too. Yeah.

M1: stations that are wheelchair accessible because it means they have ramps and stuff, elevators that strollers can go in. And so it just made it way easier. So we actually had to walk like a little bit out of our way to go get to an accessible station. And we happened to go by the Disney store. It was 9.50 PM the store closed at 10 PM I like went in and went on like an absolute yes.

Mouselet 3: You b I was about to say you bought all that stuff in ten minutes.

M1: I went on like an absolute spree. I literally was like going around the store being like, ⁓ my God. There actually was a whole second floor which had like Star Wars, Marvel, Funko stuff. I could that had a sign saying it. I didn't even have time to go up there because I like the store closed. ⁓ but so if you're ever in London, I highly recommend going. And speaking of stores, Disney stores, there's randomly a new limited time Disney store in Pittsburgh. Because you know they close like basically every Disney store. There's randomly a new like limited time Disney store in Pittsburgh, which apparently is like a new concept that they're testing and will be rolling out in other places. So it was a big deal. A lot of people were there over the weekend. It looked like a big it looks cute. It doesn't look super big or anything, but like I guess that's nice. I think nothing. Literally I don't think there was anything I don't know if there's anything like exclusive to that store. It's interesting to me that they closed so many Disney stores.

Mouselet 3: What's different do you know what is different about it from a usual like a st But like what's different Say you said they're testing something up. What are they testing?

M1: well it literally says like Disney store limited time. It's like pop it's like a pop up kind of.

Mouselet 3: Wow, interesting.

M1: Yeah, I'm not sure what the I don't know what the sort of business plan is, but it's interesting. ⁓ one other thing to talk about in this segment, drum roll, plea do we have a drum roll? We have a drum joke. Here we go.

Mouselet 3: I think yeah.

M1: Mouse Lit 3 is buying a house! Everyone say Woo I tried to play the cheering effect, it obviously didn't work because this platform is terrible. Is it gonna play? Can I clap?

Mouselet 3: The whee

M1: Congratulations, Maslow Three. Would you like to tell us a little bit about your home buying journey?

Mouselet 3: Sure thing. ⁓ it has been, yeah, it's exciting. M3, me, and Mouse Lit Jay, my husband, and I are buying a house. ⁓ it's not too far from where we live right now. And I don't know how many details to get into. I feel like maybe we'll share more details once sort of everything's said and done. ⁓ but hopefully we close, we're going to close next week. And ⁓ we're sort of gonna move there sort of throughout the summer. It's pretty close to where we are right now. ⁓ and yeah, we're we're really excited about it. A little stressed, a little overwhelmed, sort of as any first time home buyer might be. ⁓ but we're, you know, it's been a lot of work over the past couple of months and we're very excited to sort of kick off the summer. I mean, I feel like hasn't summer hasn't started yet because I'm like about to close and about to move. So feel I feel like I'll just have kind of a little bit of a shorter summer because for me summer will start in like July. ⁓ but we're excited to kick off summer and ⁓ sort of start this new chapter. So yeah, very excited.

M1: Something that I think is very cool is Mouse Mouslit J, which again is Mouslit Three's husband, is very much like an interest in like architecture and kind of like home design, I would say, or like building design kind of. And he was able to find some old photographs of the home that you're buying and sort of using those as inspiration as a way to kind of like restore the house back to its sort of like more original look. It's obviously been, you know, transformed over the years by various people. And so

Mouselet 3: Mm-hmm.

M1: They you already begun some work. Mouse three was the landscaper of the project.

Mouselet 3: Yeah, kind of randomly. Kind of randomly. We s the first project we started with is like the the house was built in nineteen sixty and it was it had a front porch, sort of open air porch, and then over time, I think the eighties or nineties, the front porch was enclosed, like with sort of like a seasonal enclosure, but it was glass enclosed and ⁓ like wood siding was put on inside and blah blah blah. So Mouselit Jay is working on again restoring the house. So we started with that project, but he was like, I've got the porch. Why don't you like, you know, trim those hedges over there? And what turned what started with like a one weekend task for me has just been over the past like two months, I'd say, month and a half, Mouse Lit Jay's exclusively doing the porch and I'm exclusively doing the landscaping. So I have filled every weekend I fill a on average about 15 trash barrels or trash. like bags or leaf bags of sticks and leaves and bushes and things and I'm just chopping like shrubs and hedges into tiny little sticks so that the town will come pick them up for free. And so I have been, yeah, a bit of a landscape architect, I'd say. About halfway through. I don't think I've I'm be I'm able to like reap the results of my work yet. ⁓ but we're we're on our way there. About halfway there, I'd say, in terms of the the front look of the house. so yeah, but what mouse let? One was saying is that Mouse Lich is very ⁓ sort of interested in in design and fairly handy or crafty. And so ⁓ this is it I wouldn't say it's like a fixer-upper, but it's definitely not like we're not gonna move in and leave everything as is. ⁓ there's some projects we wanna do both on the exterior and interior of the house. So and that's something we really like doing, is like home improvement projects or type of things like that. So over the next months, years, ⁓ probably like the rest of our life we'll be sort of fixing up the house, changing things, and we're very excited to be able to get started. Like we said, we started on the outside and in a couple of weeks we'll be able to move some of that work to the inside.

M1: This just made me think of something that wasn't on our ⁓ our notes. But Mouse 3 and I were actually talking the other day because in my backyard is an extremely large bush. And when I say extremely large bush, like I feel like you're picturing like a big bush. Like I actually can't even describe this sort of size of this bush. It is s

Mouselet 3: I would say picture picture like an in ⁓ an inclined hill and now park a car on that hill and then park like three or four cars next to it. I'd say it's literally like four cars wide. Yeah, and it's just like one gigant I mean, I'm sure it's multi but it's just like one huge mass. It's not ugly. It's it's and I would say it's like a an evergreen, low lying, it's probably like five feet tall, would you say? Off the ground.

M1: Then a bush usurps all those cars. Yes. It's No, it's fine. Yeah, but the issue is we really can't like trim it back much because right beneath kind of like the green evergreen is just like the sticks. So if we trimmed it back, it's just gonna be like a brown stick pile, which would look horrible. So it just sort of grows to its own liking. And it does take up a lot of our yard. And then also ⁓ sure.

Mouselet 3: Wait, can I tell you a fun fact about this? Did you know the reason that under the top layer of greenery it's just brown sticks? Do you know what the reason for that is?

M1: No.

Mouselet 3: Because the brown sticks underneath aren't getting any sunlight because of because they're being blocked by those. So that's what I'm doing with the hedges at at our house. And it definitely will be a little more severe if you guys do elect to do this. But technically, if you trim it down, yes, it will like look bad. It will just look like sticks, but you could trim it down depending on the the type of the exact species of shrub or bush. ⁓ you could take like just the green off and leave, you know, three feet of brown stick, or you could like honestly take like half of it off and it'll look terrible for a moment, but then it will start to regrow.

M1: Mm-hmm.

Mouselet 3: ⁓ and so you can sort it like a starfish. Like you can just kinda trim it down and then it'll just regrow back from there. So you could elect to do that, but honestly, looking at that large of a brown mass for at least a year or at least like six to twelve months would be probably pretty bad.

M1: Yeah. So I think it does take up a decent portion of our yard. And then also, I don't even know if I've ever mentioned this before, but Mouse Let C and I have a pool in our backyard and it's up at the top of that hill. And our entire yard is fenced in because of the pool, but we also want to get just the pool fenced in for like safety with kids. And the bush kind of like impedes the way that you would do the fence. So, anyways, we're gonna remove the bush. That's why I thought of this thing because of Mouse Lit Three and I were talking about. ⁓ the removal of organic matter and how you can like appropriately do that. But my other exciting update is that we're getting our pool redone. So when we bought our house a year ago, we had to buy our pool as is, which means basically the previous owners were an elderly couple. They hadn't opened the pool in many, many years. They didn't know the condition it was in and we just had to buy it sight unseen, literally. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: I sort of forget wait, I'm sorry, it wasn't was it covered and you you couldn't you weren't able to take off the cover?

M1: It was covered. No. And so once we bought the house, we got to have someone come take off the cover and be like, okay, so last year we focused on just like making it functional. We needed to get a new pump, we needed to get new lines put in. We whatever, all this work had to be done on it. It was pretty expensive. ⁓ we found out the heater doesn't work. We did not fix the heater last year. But this year, ⁓ well, I guess what I was gonna say is the issue is since the pool had sat for so many years.

Mouselet 3: I wow, my jaw's on the floor.

M1: water had just been sitting in it and it kind of turned into like sludge and it stained the bottom of the deep end of the pool very badly. So it just sort of looked like a big disgusting sinkhole. It was like didn't it was functionally fine. It was clean. But it didn't it didn't look great. It it didn't look great. And so this year we are getting the pool completely resurfaced, refinished. We're getting a heater put in,

Mouselet 3: It looked nicer than a sinkhole, but I mean it maybe it wasn't like br you know crystal clear water, but like it was

M1: And I'm very excited to have kind of like a new sort of like a new refreshed pool. And then next year I think is when we'll deal with removing this hedge and fencing it in because the miclet can't walk this year. So it's not really a danger at the moment. It just started.

Mouselet 3: When is that work being done on the pool? Do you know? ⁓ it did? How long of a of a process is it?

M1: Well, they did the demo and then the actual resurfacing takes two days. That has not started yet though. I don't know when that's starting. Mouse he's coordinating that and he's overseas, so

Mouselet 3: Sorry, so it's gonna be done in like two weeks? I kind of

M1: Well, it depend they they have to do some other pressure testing. There's sort of some other things, but once they start resurfacing it's very quick, yes.

Mouselet 3: Wow, that's exciting.

M1: So those are some updates, some home updates, ⁓ some London updates, but now before we get into the main episode, let's do a little bit of news. The first thing, I didn't know this, but at Saratoga Springs, one of the DBC resort options is a treehouse villa. We have stayed there before. We stayed there in maybe October 2024. I don't know, throwing that out there. Mouse L would know. they're cool, but they're dated. And apparently they're being redone. I did not know that. We just got our first look. It was on the like Disney Parks social media or something. So they said they were drawing on the last hundred years of Disney animation. I think the theming looks very cute. Some of the movies that they've showed that are featured are Mulan, Princess and the Frog, The Rescuers, Cinderella, Tangled, Fox and the Hound, and Sleeping Beauty. So like a big swath of them. I will say the living room does still have like a regular sofa, not a Murphy bed. I don't know how they would put a Murphy bed in that. They're like octagonal shaped with like a ton of windows. I I don't really think you could get a Murphy bed in there just because of the way they're shaped, which is unfortunate. but it looks it looks nice and refreshed, and I'm very excited to see more about that. ⁓ the next piece of news I've assigned Melsa three.

Mouselet 3: Next piece of news, Master 3 searched and found himself. Ogi Boogie Bash in Disneyland ⁓ won't have a parade this year because of the construction that's going on in the park. So instead they have like a new thing to replace that called Madame Leota's Swinging Wake, a Haunted Mansion Street Party, featuring, quote, multiple showstopping moments for Madame Leota to host her spirited seance and swinging wake, filled with happy haunts, ghostly dancing, and ghoulish delight, inviting you to partake in a ghastly good time that beckons all nine hundred ninety nine ghosts. I will say

M1: Okay, I actually think that sounds really fun.

Mouselet 3: I do too. I have I have two things to say about this. Madame Leoda is the like the woman's head in that floating ball, no? Will she be there? Out at this street party? I'm that's one thing that's one thing I would like to know. And two, this is making me I I just hope that they kind of learn from I mean, you guys have talked about Jollywood enough on this podcast, but I hope that they learn from Jollywood because this is giving the the Latin American street fair

M1: Yes. I don't know. The tip top club. ⁓ okay.

Mouselet 3: I mean either or just kind of like a little like street party and I just hope that they kind of do it the right way. Yes, the tip top club too. ⁓ but you know, I do think that this could go south. So I th I have I have hope. And again, Madame Leota, I cannot wait to see her there. Wait.

M1: I yes.

Mouselet 3: I was just gonna say, will will you or Mouse two be in Disneyland at any point during Okie Boogie Bash or no?

M1: Mel's lit too well on the way back from her honeymoon. And so she's like, obviously you're not invited, it's my honeymoon. Yeah, she's going to Oogie Boogie Bash with Terran. So I said, ⁓ okay. I mean, like, literally, I might, except that there's except that they're staying in a room that only literally sleeps two people. It's a special type of studio room. That's like a tiny mini miniature room. Or else, like, catch me baby popping out there. So they'll be there. I won't. Obviously, I'm not bitter about that at all. okay, the next thing

Mouselet 3: ⁓ right. You're gonna fli you're fly out there for one day, go to a Gibbiggy Bash, Madame Milota floating in the street? So

M1: The Disney often does this thing called a bounce back offer, which is when your if you do a resort stay, you'll get an email like right after. And it's like if you book another stay within like seven days of your stay finishing, ⁓ you get like a certain percent off. They've had a 35% off bounce back offer for a while and they just extended it for another year. As I was writing this, I realized we have never gotten this offer. So I'm sort of like, maybe it's because we book on like discounts. Like, you know, sometimes we're not booking directly through Disney, but sometimes we do. And we've definitely never gotten this offer. So I'm not really sure of the details of that. ⁓ but if you're Yeah, it's good. Yeah, I would love to have a bounce back offer. But I've I've never been offered as far as I know. So anyways, keep an eye in in case that applies to you. And then the last thing is

Mouselet 3: Thirty five percent is kind of crazy. Like that's a really good deal to if you know that Yes, if you know you're going back. And the last the last piece of news, as you and Mouslit one and as you and Mouslit two have harped on about, but Cool Kid Summer is underway and it has officially started. which Mouse Let one brings us into our main topic.

M1: Today. So Mouse Lit 3 suggested today's topic, which is ⁓ kind of a deep dive on Streetmosphere and sort of answering the question: Did Disney kill Streetmosphere? And why? So, as most of you probably know, Mouse Lit 3's background is in theater. So this is like kind of his specialty, and sort of so he suggested it. Also, Cool Kids Summer features a lot of streetmosphere, which is actually one of the things that like we love about it. It features more streetmosphere, at least than the parks traditionally have had of late. So like it's sort of relevant in that way. And this topic was also kind of exp inspired by the cruise that we took Mouse Lit 3 on. So for those of you who are not in our sitting on the ground talking Patreon segment, because we did just touch on this a little bit in that segment today. Mouse Lit 3 came on the Disney Wish with us in October, I believe. Yeah, October of 2025. He went on a cruise. And what are your what are your thoughts that kind of dovetail into this topic?

Mouselet 3: The cruise, well, first of all, I loved the cruise. ⁓ but I loved the cruise because it was it was definitely like Disney inspired and it felt very Disney, but it wasn't the you know the usual parks. And so one thing that I thought the cruise did really well ⁓ is there was always something to do on the cruise. And of course, there's a lot of lounges, you know, there's a lot of places to be, and there's the spa and things like that. But one of the main highlights of the cruise is the entertainment or the like event venues and the different things that are going on mainly at night, but I would say throughout the day as well. even like up on the top deck they'll have like dance parties and things. But there are a couple different I'm sure it's different like based on which ship you're on. But when we went on the Wish there were a couple different of a di different venues like bar bars or stages, a larger theater and then there there were I'm thinking of those rooms That were like much smaller, more of like an amphitheater, like almost like a seminar style room. and each night, like throughout the night, there are these little bite-sized pieces of entertainment, like a trivia show or like there might be a singer or some sort of musician performing out in the lobby. And then like a half hour later, there's a I'm trying to think of other examples. There there was a silent disco, there's characters that could sort of come out, game shows.

M1: Yeah, there were Yeah. Mm-hmm. There's yeah, little like game yeah, game shows, like little just like improved sort of skitty things. Yeah, c stuff like that.

Mouselet 3: And it feels really like non-committal because it's it's free and it's there and you can't do everything. And I think it's sort of set up that way intentionally, because if everybody on the ship did the same thing, ⁓ there wouldn't be enough space. And so there's a lot because of that, they're able to offer sort of a wide array of entertainment that's better for kids or better for adults, better for adults who are, you know, gonna go to bed early or adults who are gonna be sort of out late. And I thought that was one of the best parts of the cruise because during the day you want to sort of be laying out by the pool or going, ⁓ you know, disembarking the ship and ⁓ going out to the port or something. But at night, like that is what you do on the cruise unless you're sleeping. ⁓ so

M1: Like like mouse let too.

Mouselet 3: Like Mouse yeah, Mouse Two did Mouse Two even do like one single piece of entertainment in the evening last last cruise that we went on?

M1: I mean she saw like the shows. She saw the shows.

Mouselet 3: Right, well, I should clarify and say our whole family saw the shows, and by that I mean I was awake the entire time and then Mouselet J was next to me and he was awake most of the entire time and then it just sort of as you go down the line, like more and more people were sleeping more consistently throughout the whole thing. Then you ending with Papa Mouselett who was probably asleep the entire time.

M1: She slipped. That is true. Mm-hmm. Anyways, so I think this like brings up the fact that on the ships, it feels like there are a lot of these sort of things that you can stumble upon that are like these small little things that are just happening and you can like pop in and watch some of or whatever. And it's like so much fun. Also, I needed to mention, I have the note on this, our friends at That Park Life podcast both just went on cruises. And I found out that if you're on a cruise that's longer than three nights, which I have personally never done. There's a magician on the big stage. And I love magicians. And I need, need, need to go on another cruise to see a magician. I literally love magicians.

Mouselet 3: I feel like for the for the magician to be on that big stage means it has to be like kind of a big show. Like it, you know, usually a magician is I wouldn't be surprised if there was a magician in one of those like smaller rooms or even like a a what are they called? A strolling magician where they just like walk around and like they can do something, they don't need a table or anything. But a magician on w that big stage would I mean that's that's like probably a very talented, very like show worthy magician. Wow. Yeah, that's really cool.

M1: I know. Yeah. I know, I need to go. Exactly. So this kind of inspired like us to talk about the fact that the parks sort of have lost some of this sort of stumble upon, experience a short little thing, and then leave element. And so, in terms of live entertainment, Disney, of course, still has a decent number of shows, but today we're specifically talking about within the parks the streetmosphere style of entertainment. I looked up the definition in case you like don't really know what that word means. And this is what Google said quote Streetmosphere, a portmanteau of street and atmosphere, refers to lie. Interactive performances and costume characters that wander through theme parks and shopping districts to create an immersive living environment. Instead of watching a static stage show, guest experience, impromptu comedy, musical acts, and character encounters right on the walkway. Okay? So you kind of get the idea. Back in the day, the parks had a lot of this type of thing, and there are some of them that still exist. Mouse the three is gonna go over a couple, but the the sort of main one that I'll note that I think will help you kind of get into the minds of the streetmosphere is like the Dapper Dance. The Dapper Dance don't a set stage. The Dapper Dans are kind of out and about. They pop up. You don't know exactly when. Some some of these things are more scheduled. Some of these things are less scheduled. But like they'll pop up here and there. They'll do their sort of little thing. They're moving around. And they just make you feel like you're truly in Main Street USA as like a living, breathing place, because they kind of add to the atmosphere of it. Okay, muscle three. Go over a couple others that still exist today.

Mouselet 3: I feel like Divine in Animal Kingdom, the I feel like the whole idea behind Streatmosphere is you don't know when it's going to happen. It's not a planned thing and you don't know when or even really where it's going to happen. So there's that element of surprise. And seeing Divine, even nowadays when I see Divine in Animal Kingdom, it's like so special. And I take a like I take a million pictures because I'm like, ⁓ my God, like I I might not see this next trip. Like I feel like Divine is one of the To me, even as a kid and even now, like she's so rare and special. And it's like she comes out once a year, or she comes out like two minutes every day. ⁓ sure. Yes. Divine is a she's not IP Disney IP, right? It's just like sort of an animal kingdom thing. Divine is actually, why don't you tell them what Divine is? I think you're gonna be able to define it better than I.

M1: Yes. Do you wanna do you wanna tell people what divine is, who divine is, for people who don't know? No. Mm-hmm. Okay, okay. Divine is a woman, a performer, who is on stilts on both her hands and legs, and those stilts and her entire body is covered in like vines and leaves. So she kind of blends in with the trees, and her face is painted green. She sort of moves very slowly and does these like beautiful poses. So she kind of just blends in with the animal kingdom scenery, and her name is Divine.

Mouselet 3: And she's not like in her name's Divine, but she's not out in any specific section of it. She's like in those sort of walkways between two different Yeah, yeah. She's just like up against the trees, up against the actual greenery. Sometimes I feel like she's even like in it, and you can't see her whole body or all of her stilts. But it's honestly she she blends in so well. Like, obviously once you're looking at her, you know what's going on, but when you first

M1: Like the oasis area, yeah. She just sort of is like Yep.

Mouselet 3: There's nothing like that first moment that you see divine, honestly. It's so cool.

M1: Divine is so truly, it was like it's so cool. And literally, as kids, you know, she's not out all the time or every day by any means. So on our trip, like we didn't see her every year. And so when we did, it was like, ⁓ my god, Divine is out. Like we're running to see her. It was the most special thing, which sort of is is ⁓ alluding to a lot of what I think Streetmosphere brings and this loss of streetmosphere has caused. These like really special moments of like delight, of just like surprise. Like, ⁓ my God, this is so unexpected but so cool. Okay, so divine, who else still exists?

Mouselet 3: Divine, Dapper Dance, the the jamitors at Epcot, who were like the janitor are they actual janitors too? Or ⁓ okay, maybe dumb maybe a dumb question. But they are like dressed as janitors, but they're playing music. I feel like they're doing like percussion. I want to say like with the like yeah, like with their janitor tools. ⁓ I feel like I haven't seen the jamitors start.

M1: No, no. Yeah, like trash cans.

Mouselet 3: Like I I at that moment of seeing that, like I I think I sort of hear them and walk up to them, but I wonder if they is there like a bit that they like sort of pretend to pick up trash? And then they start to like actually play their music and stuff. But that yeah. they are in more in the in future world, not in in the world showcase, I don't think, at Epcot. What about the next one on this list with the Holly do you know what I'm talking about in the notes?

M1: I think they do a little bit. Yeah, I think they do a l a little bit. Mm-hmm. And then you Nestle Three added something to If you could hear him typing earlier, he added something to this list. Hollywood Studios group of characters walking around what's that called? Hmm?

Mouselet 3: There's like something and I wanna say it's in Hollywood Studios and it's like it was like only at six PM on Saturdays and it was like thirty Yeah, what's that?

M1: Character Palooza. Character Palooza. Character Palooza is a thing that they do still ⁓ is a thing that they do still do, I believe. And it's when on nights that they have Phantasmic, because all the characters are there, like already dressed up, they'll bring them out for kind of like a surprise meet and greets, but like it's not a listed meet and greet. It's just kind of random characters in a random spot in the park. It used to be back by like rock and roller coaster.

Mouselet 3: But hey, why didn't he say character police one more time?

M1: ⁓ now it's typically actually outside the gates of the park in like a little side courtyard thing that you probably have never noticed. ⁓ yeah, it's interesting.

Mouselet 3: Actually, really surprising that happens outside the park in terms of safety, like security. But I will say also sort of along those same lines, I want to- I'm only picturing this in Magic Kingdom, but it's obviously everywhere. ⁓ just anytime you're sort of walking around and there's a character and you're not expecting that character. But in Magic Kingdom in Frontierland, I feel like the country bears often kind of pop out, and that's like a fun.

M1: Yeah.

Mouselet 3: You know, it's not it's not listed on the app or on the map. ⁓ you can't really guess when's gonna happen. Also, I wanna say, and I could be making this up, but I wanna say that sometimes in specific situations, like Disney will sort of send a character out to kind of like distract from what didn't you guys mention on your last trip when the when Thunder Mountain was down and ⁓ Tiana's was down and Yeah, yeah. Right. So they can sort of use it.

M1: They had like all the country bears out, yeah, to try and be like, here's something, yeah. I had this as a note further on, but like further back in in the day, so the a lot of the street material I'm talking about today was happening in like the 2000s. This particular thing was kind of further back in the day. There used to be more characters roaming, just kind of like randomly roaming. This is still the case at Disneyland. If you are a Disney World or you go to Disneyland, There are characters just kind of walking around. It's so cool. Like in Fantasyland, ⁓ the evil queen is just like walking, or I don't think I don't think she specifically still is anymore, but actually, someone who walks around all the time in Disneyland, Geppetto. Yeah. Literally Geppetto is for some reason always walking around Disneyland. But it really makes you feel like you're like in fantasyland like that ⁓ world.

Mouselet 3: J

M1: doesn't really have that as much because people kind of like mob the characters in world. One of the reasons they're able to have the country bears still do that is because they're not as popular. So like people, you know, don't like rush them. ⁓ the only other character I can think of that consistently does it at Magic Kingdom is Peter Pan. He's usually often like running about in the morning. But anyways, that is some streetmosphere that kind of does still exist. But a lot more is unfortunately gone. And we're gonna dive today into like

Mouselet 3: I didn't realise that.

M1: why that's happened and our thoughts on it, but first I want to go over some of these things that you probably remember that sadly are not there anymore. And to start, there were a lot in the world showcase.

Mouselet 3: The World Showcase, I feel like, is like the pinnacle of Streetmosphere. ⁓ which is ⁓ we'll get into why that like it works. Like it's such a good thing for it. But Server Amusante in France was the that was like our family's favorite. I remember, I remember as a kid watching it, and then I can also picture like all of these photos of me in my yellow gap sweatshirt. ⁓ watching Server Amusant.

M1: And it and it was like Papa Ma one of Papa Mouse. It always reminds me of Papa Mouse Let. Like I feel like he really loved it. This is the one where there was like a mime who would blow on a whistle and then another mime and they would kind of stack chairs up in like a funny little skit, but the other

Mouselet 3: But it's like one is the chef and one is the like waiter or like busser. It's kind of like French restaurant themed, but it happens right outside, just like i in France outside. please.

M1: Waiter. And the guy would be doing like handstands on like chairs that were stacked up. It was so impressive. And so something to note with a lot of streetmosphere is they're specialized people. So like server amusant was the older guy who was the chef and this younger guy who was like the acrobat server. It was just those two people. Like there weren't like subs. It wasn't like you go this day, you see this guy, you go this day, you see another guy. It was those two guys. And so like we'll talk about this later, but that is one of the things that makes

Mouselet 3: Mm-hmm.

M1: this type of thing harder because it's not just like you can throw any cast member in there to do this job. Like it's these very specialized people. But Serber Amusant, he literally was right by there's like a tower in the France Pavilion that has like spikes at the top. It's like replicated after this like, you know, thing in Paris. And he would do these handstands on like six chairs stacked up that I'm sure had like some sort of ma magnets or something. But he could have easily fallen. I I'd

Mouselet 3: It was like a ch No, I I don't th no, he could have. I don't think that like I knowing what I know about a theater, ⁓ I just don't think that there's anything besides skill there. Like, especially Cirque du Soleil too. Like Cirque du Soleil does cr they do crazy stunts and things, and I think it's literally just that. Like, if he was to fall, I think he sort of knows which direction to fall. Because I I remember as a kid the fence around

M1: Yeah. Yeah. I know. You're like he's gonna fall on like

Mouselet 3: It's just like a little low, like but it's like a metal fence and i i ⁓ yeah, it's crazy. But that was

M1: He's gonna if you don't know what we're talking about, it look up Service. That was such a good one. Next one.

Mouselet 3: Another one in China, again in the world showcase, these are on the world showcase. In China, the Dragon Legend Acrobats. Maoza One, you should talk about this because this was, I mean, this relates to you as the gymnast you were, but it's also I feel like your favorite in the world showcase or was.

M1: It was it was my favorite. Yes, it was my favorite. They were the dragon leg gen acrobats. This one there were like there was a group of them. And so there was like always some girls, some guys. They each had different skills. Like some of them, literally, there was one who would hold this like tower of wine glasses like in on her nose or in her teeth or something and like do a balancing act. There were all these different types of balancing with different like there were wheels and like various things. And so there was like a troop of them. And depending on what show you went to that day, you would see like different acts from the troop. But it was still like a set number of them. And I mean, they were very young. It was like a young group of must have been students. Yeah. From yeah.

Mouselet 3: Yeah, it was a ki it was like teenagers. Yeah, like the people like under the age of twenty, I'd say. ⁓ but the w Server on Server Amusant like pretty much the same show every time. And there's like a volunteer, so it differs a little bit. But the the acrobats in China were pretty much something differ I feel like there was some different element all the time. ⁓ because they had

M1: Yeah, from China. They they were so impressive. Yeah, 'cause it was like a big troop. And I think probably with the fact that they were younger, there's like rules about how frequently they could work. So there's a lot of them. And so you're seeing whatever this person happens to specialize in. You're seeing that act or this group. They were amazing. I loved them. I'll never forgive them for taking that away, seriously. Ever.

Mouselet 3: Mm-hmm. Where it d t talk about sort of where this was in China and also answer my question 'cause I don't know the answer to this of what is there now? Like is there just an empty space?

M1: Nothing. So when you walk in like through the like gate of China, it was right on the right. There's just sort of like a courtyard and they had like a rug down and then there like a rope that roped it off and they always were on that rug. Now the rug is gone and it's just like s you know, open area.

Mouselet 3: It was and th these shows, these Streetmosphere acts are fifteen, twenty minutes long. Like ⁓ you know, not any longer than a half hour at most. Another good one is In the World Showcase in Italy, the ZD sisters. I wanna say I d they weren't singing, right? It was more of like a comedic thing or was it both? It

M1: Mm-hmm. I think they were s I think they were like singing comedy. This is so crazy, but later we're gonna talk about the Citizens of Hollywood, one of our family's absolute, absolute, absolute favorites. And we really got into the Citizens of Hollywood like around the kind of the time that we started the Mouselits, like 2017, 2018, I would say. And there is a specific Citizen of Hollywood who we like was our family's number number one favorite. And randomly we were going through Mama Mouse Lit's camera from like 2007, like our family's trip when I was in like middle school.

Mouselet 3: When I was seven.

M1: And she had a picture of she had a picture of the ZD sisters. And that citizen of Hollywood that we now love was one of the ZD sisters from like a decade before. It was we were like, wait, is that blah blah blah? It was so insane. I honestly don't even really remember the ZD Sisters that well. That was not one that we frequently watched, but they would dress it in red and they were like Italian. And then there was another guy in Italy who actually is still there. He's one of the ones, the only one that's been brought back.

Mouselet 3: Me neither.

M1: He has like a whistle and like a soccer ball. And he does like a little juggling act. He like brings kids in. He has like a net. He's like a comedian juggler type guy.

Mouselet 3: I've never seen or heard of that ever.

M1: I can't remember his name. He's good. He's fun. I'm I'm happy that he's back.

Mouselet 3: Also in the UK there are like storytellers. I feel like in the back is it in the back garden area, sort of behind the shop.

M1: It was like on the street leading between the two shops. They would have like they'd bring out this cart, yeah.

Mouselet 3: ⁓ and he had like a a cart. Yeah. And it was very much like, let's tell the story kind of thing. I think he like probably brought kids up and it was yeah, like the cart kind of like unfolded and created like, you know that was yeah, that was good. That was more kid friendly, I think, too. and then the drummers in Japan who I were those at set times or did it just like happen? Maybe it was like they ha from eleven to five, like they'll be out or something. But

M1: Yeah, doing like an interactive show, mm-hmm. Yep. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: The drummers in Japan, they're up on the sort of like the largest ⁓ tower structure in Japan, sort of up on the hill. As you're anyway, they were up they were up there and I don't I feel like we'd never really stopped and watched them for too long. I think we honestly wanted to get back to server Amisant or like up to the ⁓ Acrobats in China, because those were our two favorites. But all of those that whole list from the world showcases now, besides I guess the ⁓ Italian soccer juggler.

M1: No. Yeah. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: ⁓ are now gone and those went away. Well, we'll get into sort of why it happened. Yeah.

M1: Well we'll talk more about yeah, we'll talk more about that. But these ones, like they did have times on the time guide, but like it was very much still sort of the vibe of like you just stumble upon this thing. You know, like some people would line up, our family would, because we loved two of those. But it was still very much just kind of like this thing is happening out in the street and crowds are walking by and ⁓ let me go see what that is. ⁓ which I loved.

Mouselet 3: Yeah, it's like it catches your eye and you walk over or you like hear like I I can imagine like walking towards Japan and hearing the drummers and then it's like, ⁓ like what's that? It kinda keeps you moving or it like piques your interest and it's it's like a surprise, like right around the corner kind of thing. Yeah.

M1: Yes. Some other ones that you may remember. ⁓ there was a live band at Hollywood Studios, MGM, called Mulch Sweat and Shears. It was obviously themed around like a gardening group. I specifically remember seeing them in the backlot area of MGM, they had like a pickup truck with them that was like themed after mulch sweat and shears some sort of truck, themed after mulch, sweat and shears. And it was as though these like gardeners had randomly started singing. You remember dad really liking that.

Mouselet 3: Do you know do you know that why it's called mulch sweat sweat and cheers? Yes. I just feel like you like yes. It yes, it is that. ⁓ but it was like it was these I mean it like these performers were acting like dads or like gardeners. Like it was very like dad dad loved them. I think because of the music, but also it was very much like kind of like rocker and like yeah, yeah, like they're literally playing a guitar like

M1: Blood, sweat, and tears. Yeah. Yeah, like rock, yeah.

Mouselet 3: with a next to a lawnmower. ⁓ it was good. I I feel like that wasn't around for too long though. It kind of I feel like popped up right before a couple of years before the back lot of MGM sort of ended up going away. So I feel like there wasn't a use for it.

M1: Right, right. Yeah. I needed to do an honorable mention here. Speaking of things Papa Mouselit loved, this is like such a deep cut. But back before the Beauty and the Beast show used to start, if you got there early, there would be what looked like like tech people coming out and doing like a microphone check. And sort of like four of them would come out being like check, check, check. And they would end up going into like an a cappella show. It was our dad's one of our dad's favorite things. Obviously they took it away. ⁓ they took away everything that Papa Mouselit likes. That's kind of like some some deep ⁓ Everything Papa Mouse that loves gets removed. But that was one of his favorites. Not really streetmosphere, because it wasn't just like happening on the street, but again, it wasn't a listed thing. You had to be there, like it wasn't like one second before the show started. Like it was early before the show started, and then there was a break, and then the show would start. You just kind of had to be there. You kind of had to know that it was gonna happen or happen to be in the theater. Again, not on the street, but sort of like a similar vibe. another big one, the trolley show at Magic Kingdom. So the trolley used to come down. If you didn't realize, that's not there anymore. Where they go like ding ding ding goes the trolley. And then the girls in the hats and the skirts are out like doing the dances. That was one they used to have. ⁓ and then sort of the most important, the most important one in this category is of course the citizens. So in Magic Kingdom, there were citizens of Main Street. We interacted with these people far less than we did with the citizens of Hollywood, who I'm gonna get to in one second. And then there are citizens of Buena Vista Street and California Adventure. Those citizens actually do still exist. ⁓ in my Walt Disney, I know. They were so yeah. ⁓ yes, we don't have that. So citizens of Main Street and citizens of Buena Vista Street were similar. There are only a few of them, and they aren't really typically as like a group. You just will stumble upon like the mayor or like a male person or something. But this is citizens of Hollywood.

Mouselet 3: Boo. Boo. Hit the boo button. Big old boo. I mean I'm happy that they exist, but I'm jealous that in Disney World our citizens do not anymore.

M1: were our absolute favorite times, like a billion. Again, we didn't discover them until later, and I wish that we had known more about them earlier. ⁓ I actually remember the very first time I saw the Citizens of Hollywood. I don't know if you know this. The very first time I ever saw them, I don't think I even realized exactly what was happening. But it was like a rain must have been rainy day and I got off of Tower of Terror. And right when you get out of Tower of Terror, there was like an old, like I guess it was, I don't even know. It was like a little cutout in the wall when you get off.

Mouselet 3: okay.

M1: And they were like in there like posing, there was two of them in there like posing in the cutout. And then as we walked by, they would be like, ⁓ you know, like like chatting with people as he went by. And I remember being like, ⁓ my God, this is yeah, like inside. I think because it was raining. No, it was in the store. I think it was raining. And so they were like in a weird location. ⁓ and that was my first interaction ever with them. And I didn't even realize exactly what they were. But basically what they were was an imp they were improvisational actors.

Mouselet 3: In the in the store? Or like down right outside the s ⁓ okay, okay.

M1: ⁓ and each one was a specific character. So again, this is one of the things where like there was one actress who played Betty Shambles. And it was just her. It wasn't like there were multiple people who played Betty Shambles. This one actress was Betty Shambles. If that actress wasn't on that day, Betty Shambles was not around that day. There was a big cast of them. So Betty Shambles was like, you know, the new girl in town who just got into Hollywood and wanted to like make her way, but was kind of like nerdy.

Mouselet 3: They all they were like characters from the time period of Hollywood Studios. So like

M1: Like nineteen forty seven Hollywood, yeah. Yes.

Mouselet 3: Nineteen forty seven on the dot. Yeah, like f yeah. I I didn't is that the year that the park is set in?

M1: I just I just watched I just watched a video of them because I was trying to look up I was trying to remember one of the bits that they did and it was nineteen forty seven. There's like the movie star, there's like the assistant to the stars, there's the director, there like there was a huge cast of characters. and they did tons of different little style shows. So sometimes you would encounter just like one of them. For example, there was a character, Dormanesmond, ⁓ named after Norma Desmond, who would

Mouselet 3: Yeah. Okay. Mm-hmm.

M1: She was like an old school Hollywood actress, like an older woman or whatever. And she would like sit in a chair on Hollywood Boulevard and as you walked by, like be commenting on like your fashion and being like, ⁓ girls or whatever. It was like so fun. There was a director who would walk around who would like stop people and be like, Let's shoot a little movie or whatever. So there was like individual acts do something.

Mouselet 3: And there I feel like there also weren't Like usually when a character is out, there's a Disney cast member, like sort of right next to them, and it's very clearly like, you know, they're sort of right there. Maybe there was a Disney cast member or like one of the people who's ⁓ has the trash pick picker rubbers who are clear like a manager, ⁓ who are like important. Maybe there's somebody there, like sort of watching from afar. But the best thing about the Citizens of Hollywood and really most of the streetmosphere we have been going over, is that you for a second, it almost is like, wait, who is this? Like like this doesn't feel like a Disney thing. It's almost like it's like almost magical where it's Like it just it really puts you in the world of in this case like Hollywood. There's no cast member standing right there. It doesn't feel like official. They didn't like come out of a door. They just kind of like pop up or they're like sitting there and it's just like this character. Yeah, yeah. They would try. Yeah.

M1: They literally have had cars. They have cars. And they're just they're driving down Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, parking, wherever, talking to whoever, being like beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. Yeah, like it there's no one like guiding them. They're just doing it. And they're kind of like main act, at least in the time that we were watching them. They would do this like funniest citizen of Hollywood contest. And so all of them would be there. And the way it was formatted is that someone in the audience would give them an item. I had to like literally think of a joke to be able to tell this how it works, okay? The item that I thought of as a peanut because we call my son peanut because he's very little. And so the joke would always be in this format. It would be 99 peanuts walk into a bar and the bartender says, Hey, we can't serve you peanuts in here. And the peanuts say, Why not? And the bartender says, Because you're nuts, like you're crazy. And it was always that. Like they would make a joke in that format off of whatever the thing that the person had said as the item. They were so clever. It was a contest.

Mouselet 3: And it was like it was kind of set up as like a yeah, a show, a contest. So there was some there was one of the characters was the host, and so he's like, okay, like let's, you know, contestant number one, like come on up, and it'd be, you know, Betty Shambles in for example is like kooky, zany, kinda like crazy, but really funny. And then there's another, ⁓ who's the tall and the purple and the blonde hair? What's what was her? Evie Starlight, who would like sh I I'm not gonna imitate the voice, but like

M1: E. V. Starlight. The ditzy kind of like Marilyn Monroe, yeah.

Mouselet 3: Yeah, yeah. But they'd come up and they'd they'd I mean, on the fly, like come up with these jokes. And honestly, the best moments were either when it was a really good joke and you're like, How did this person even think of this? Or it was like such a bad joke that it just like completely failed and you know that it's just because they tried to come up with it like on the spot. But the best it it was so fun because it's audience participation, so they're asking for like a different word each time, but then it's a different joke, it's a different show each time. And one day you might see it with Dorman Esmond, Betty Betty Shambles and D.Vstarlight, and then the next day it might be three other cats, or like later in that day, three other ⁓ characters within these Citizens of Hollywood. So it was different every time, short, bite-sized, you could like hear it as you're just walking past. You could sit down as you see the car coming, coming by. ⁓ we absolutely loved, loved watching that.

M1: Yeah. You did not know when they were gonna come out, who was gonna be out, what type of show they were gonna be doing at that moment. And like it made Hollywood feel so alive. And I think that that's kind of like the what Streetmosphere does is it makes the world showcase feel like you're really maybe walking through France. Granted, you know, people aren't really doing handstands on chairs in France, but like, you know, it's like a really cool immersive little thing you're stumbling upon, or you're stumbling upon an actress on Hollywood Boulevard, and it's so sad. It is so sad that so many of these are gone. The Citizens of Hollywood being gone makes me like want to actually like scream at the top of my lungs. and it happened it happened for a few reasons. So we're gonna sort of dive into like why Disney has quote unquote like killed Streetmosphere. ⁓ so why don't you talk a little bit about like how things were back in the day? Remember, Streetmosphere was kind of at its heyday in like the nineties into the two thousands, and actually something that I don't have exactly on this on the sheet, but like I wanna mention is There was a time when Disney was specifically kind of trying to build the parks in this way. Build the parks in a way that people would kind of be like stumbling upon things and just sort of having a surprise moment. For example, when Animal Kingdom opened, it had no signage at all because they wanted people to just sort of feel like they were exploring and discovering, not like following a map to things. That didn't really go well. They had to add signage very quickly. But like in the nineties to two thousands, it was an actual initiative that they wanted people to be having these kind of like moments of surprise. And the way that the parks were set up at that time kind of also just like worked better for that, which I'm gonna have muscle three talk about now.

Mouselet 3: I feel like this is like pre, you know, smartphones certainly, and like really pre-technology, like modern day technology in a way. Think like paper, fast passes, wait times. You only know what the wait time is. I guess maybe there were those like boards at the front that would maybe like show the wait times for like all the rides, but that probably only was added later. You only knew a wait time if you walked up to a ride and looked at the wait time for that ride. So the day, a day at Disney. world or land sort of flowed a lot differently than it does now. You didn't book things in advance, like maybe you made a dining reservation in ad in advance again at a certain point, probably only by calling, but generally you were sort of surprised and sort of figuring things out along the way. It wasn't as rigid and pre-planned ⁓ and sort of really commercialized as it is now. And so as you sort of wandered around the park, stumbling into something like this, like a a some sort of streetmosphere, felt much more or or felt like a surprise. And these days, especially without streetmosphere, but you're not really surprised by anything. You know you have these three lightning lanes, then you have this reservation you can look up like, okay, there's a fifteen minute wait time. Like everything is a lot more scheduled out nowadays. And it didn't used to be like that. And that's why Stream Sphere used to work, I think, a lot better back then.

M1: Yeah, when people are like, the magic is gone, it's like, okay, I don't really personally agree with that. I don't think the magic of Disney is gone. But like the way that a Disney park day used to go was really like you'd arrive at the park and be like, ⁓ let's go see what we should do today. And you know, you'd go to whatever your favorite ride was and kind of whatever the wait time was, if that one was too long, maybe you'd look around and go next door or something. But like it wasn't this like optimize, optimize, optimize. You were just sort of seeing where the day took you. And so stumbling upon something about like Stream Isphere like, you there's this ex expression in like product development of like delighting people. You wanna like delight and surprise, you know? And that was like very much what Streetmosphere was.

Mouselet 3: Also I feel like too yes, you had a park map and you know, there was a a number on an attraction, then you could go over to the guide and like see what the name of it was, but you couldn't tap into it and read a description. You couldn't like see a video. And also just the idea that that sort of popped up over the last like ten, fifteen years of things being like a viral trend of like, ⁓ you have to go try this ice cream sandwich. It's like everybody's gonna go to the same thing. There was no like you couldn't really read or hear about as at least not as easily as you can today, of a a new attraction that popped up. So I feel like as as you because you knew less, you were expecting less and therefore the idea of Streetmosphere right around the corner was it just like was able to ⁓ surprise guests much more easily.

M1: Yeah, so today, obviously, so much is pre-planned and advanced. And kind of like the whole point of ⁓ what people are trying to do on a Disney day is like optimize their time, which makes sense. At Disney time is money, we say that all the time. And so you're pre-booking your lightning lanes, and then you're booking more lightning lanes throughout the day. You're checking the wait times and trying to zip over to a ride that has a low wait time. You're like mobile ordering, even rope dropping is so intense. Every minute is meant to be like optimized and scheduled. Streetmasphere. doesn't work as well in theory. I I I will say, like, we're gonna talk more later about like what we would do if we could. And like, I don't think that this is actually a reason to get rid of Streetmosphere, but like from the eyes of the Disney company, like when people when you're trying to allow guests to like optimize in that way and feed into that, Streetmosphere really works best when people don't have a plan and are like gonna stumble upon something and stop for 15 minutes and watch a little comedy bit when their heads in their phone trying to book their next lightning lane and they're running off to pick up their mobile order or whatever it is. Like the opportunity for those things is more limited. So that's

Mouselet 3: I also feel like well just now like nowadays Disney wants to sort of have not in a ne super negative way, but like control of you, like control of what you're doing. So like the more that they can sway your decision to do something or sort of like upsell you, like honestly, like the more money they make, or or just the better day you'll have, and so the more likely you will be to come back. ⁓ so it you know, I think Streetmosphere, there could have been like expectations of

M1: Yeah.

Mouselet 3: Streamphere and then maybe like Betty Shambles is sick that day, and then they're like now a customer is really upset. and being able to like lightning lanes didn't or fast passes didn't used to cost any money. Lightning lanes now do, like you have to pay for it. And so if if Disney like why why would Disney give you this like free thing that costs a lot, which we'll talk about in a moment, ⁓ instead of like, you know, having you pull out your phone and see like a list of itemized or like algorithmic things that you might be interested in or that like have a low wait time or seem very accessible to you, just at like a the click of a button kind of thing. So moving on sort of from that, that's that's one issue. But then another piece of maybe why streetmosphere isn't around today is that it's really expensive to to do this. Like we said, majority of the Streetmosphere, if not all of pretty much what we talked about is specialized not only skills, but like sometimes the person themselves, like server amusant is he is the only the one and only server amusant. So that costs a lot of money. And then when you're talking about stunt work. ⁓ like acrobats or ⁓ even like comedians and and actors, they're like highly trained and so they might be on specific contracts, union contracts, there are certain union rules that have to do with hours. And so constantly staffing that and keeping up with sort of the the legal and financial demands of those performers is a lot more expensive than just like a run of the mill cast member who can who's just gonna be a lot cheaper. So the return on investment For those Street Masphere acts that cost so much and the direct revenue, ⁓ it's just harder to measure and it's honestly probably a bit lower in general. And if you think about a ride or an attraction, like a large show, Beauty and the Beast or Phantasmic, there's hundred there's like thousands of guests, not hundreds of thousands of guests, but thousands of guests a day that are riding a ride and and flowing through Indiana Jones' theater versus Street Mosphere. only really hits probably a couple hundred guests a day. And so again, something's really expensive. ⁓ it's a very high cost for a very low reward. And so it sort of makes sense for it to not ⁓ be that sustainable from a corporate lens.

M1: Like, you know, if you're asking probably Walt, like the sort of the dreamer, the visionary in that way, I'm sure he would say it doesn't matter. Like, it's those type of things that sort of are what make Disney Disney, which is how I feel. However, Disney at you know, a period of time was really pushing operational efficiency. We saw that with the fact that they made Bob Chaype CEO. Everybody hates Bob Chaypeck, but Bob Chapeck did what Bob Chapeck was brought in to do. You probably don't even really know that much about this Nelson III, Bob Chapeck. When he was brought in, everyone criticized him so heavily, but they brought him in specifically to like cut costs within the Disney company and increase profits. Like he was not a parks guy, he was not a creative guy. That's what he did was operations. And granted, people hated what he did, but like, you know, that's what Disney wanted at the time. And Streetmosphere is like the antithesis of that. And so it w it was all kind of trending badly, but nothing had really happened until COVID. So once COVID happened, Live entertainment was basically stopped throughout everything because of social distancing. Like it was hard. I mean, if anybody remembers the Beauty and the Beast show when it came back and the Beast dying and Belle being like eight feet away from him, being like, No 'cause she couldn't go near him. It was they shouldn't have brought it back ⁓ like that. But so yeah, they didn't have live entertainment for a while because of that. And they also were just doing heavy b budget cuts. You know, the parks were operating at like Unbelievably low capacity. They had to cut things. Live entertainment is one of the most expensive. So so much stuff got slashed. And then it was easy for Disney to just not bring it back, which is so much of what COVID caused for Disney and is so unfortunate. It would have been much harder for them to take away all these things had something like that not happened. Where now they just simply aren't bringing something back. When before they would have had to actively take it away, which would have been a lot harder. But I will say, It wasn't like just COVID. I want to do a quick aside. This is really more Mouselit 2's domain, but Galaxy's Edge opened in 2019. Galaxy's Edge opened pre-COVID. And the vision there was to have like roaming characters and droids with immersive interactions and stuff. I know they do that somewhat, like Stormtroopers Roam, Ray Roams, the Tobacco Roam sometimes. And like I know they're doing more now on Disneyland, but I don't think that it's ever lived up really. To like the full potential of what people thought. For example, there's a little like pod racing area. There's like stages above that where characters are supposed to be just kind of like, yeah, walking around, like living on, yeah. They really didn't do that. They've never had roaming droids. Like that was the original vision for the land, and they definitely, it definitely was not fully executed, maybe partially, but not fully. And so, like, I think e even more than just COVID.

Mouselet 3: There's like scaffolding kind of, right? That they're supposed to be like walking around to make you feel like you're in the world. Yeah, yeah.

M1: COVID gave them the opportunity to like really make a big cut, but like they were trending away, anyways. And so, like we said up top, there are a few things that are left. The majority are gone. The ones that I can think of that are left are well Dapper Dance, Jamiter is Divine. The musicians in Africa to me are like Street Masphere. They come out and they they put on a little fun stage show. There's the Green Army drum core in ⁓ Toy Storyland. And then during Cool Kids Summer.

Mouselet 3: Yeah.

M1: Which is one of the things I love about Cool Kids Summer. There actually is more streetmosphere. So they have like magicians and jugglers in certain areas. I know back in like Storybook Circus, but there were some kind of like citizen-esque characters last year in Animation Courtyard, which granted this year is completely different. So I don't know if that will be the case. ⁓ but also at like resorts. I remember seeing a video, and it actually was a woman who used to play a citizen of Hollywood who Now was playing this character at a resort who was kind of, I think she was like a wacky tourist type person who was like pretending to be at the resort checking in. It was fun. I know. It was very fun. And but that's really it. And I think, as we've said many times, Streetmosphere brings the park to life in a way that nothing else can replicate. Like the rides, the attractions, they're great. But like walking down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, of course, you would encounter like a ⁓

Mouselet 3: Wait, that's so fun. Yeah, that is so fun.

M1: an a wannabe actress on the street. You know what I mean? Like that is what makes you be like, ⁓ my gosh, wow, I'm really in Hollywood. Writing the Hollywood Terror terror like is fun, but it's like, ⁓ my gosh, I'm in Hollywood. And so I wanted to like

Mouselet 3: It's also not well, it's not repetitive. ⁓ like, you know, the riding tower of terror, it's the exact same thing every time. I mean, I d I guess that's a bad example because technically like the up and down changes. But Rock and Roller Coaster, you know, before it it moved to what it is now with Muppets was the exact same thing. The Beauty and the Beast show, much to Mouse Lato's chagrin, is the exact same thing every time. So not only does it immerse you in the world, and it I know for

M1: Yes. Yeah, changes, but

Mouselet 3: Like the citizens of Hollywood specifically, and also like the Main Street trolley and the and the Dapper Dans and things, like Main Street does it well as well. It puts you in the world because it brings like the walls of that world to life. It it puts people like in front of you, around you, but it also is dynamic and it changes every day. And so it's it's more interesting that way. ⁓ because it's just less boring. You don't know what it's going to be that day, who's gonna be out. ⁓ like what an audience member is going to offer for that word, for that joke and things.

M1: Yeah. I have a few discussion points. My first one is what would you prioritize bringing back if you could? I said I think the citizens of Hollywood and the trolley show were the biggest losses. But then I was like, but actually a lot in Epcot. Server Yamizan and the Acrobats in Epcot like kill me that those are gone as well. ⁓ I don't know, but I think the Citizens would be my number one. And I just think the fact that they don't have the trolley show on Main Street, I'm like, are you joking? That's like one of the most mainstream it's quintessential Disney. I can't believe that.

Mouselet 3: Definitely. Yeah, that's like quintessential. Yeah.

M1: I also think it's very interesting that one of the things that they did bring back is the jamiters. The jamiters are totally fine. I I think maybe they brought them back because it doesn't require people who are quite as specialized. Like anybody can be a jamiter. And and it's yeah, it's they just need to be able to like be a musician. Yeah. And like it doesn't have any infrastructure. Like the trolley show, like needs the trolley moving around. I don't know. But I'm like, of all things, my pick would not have been the jamiters. Love no hate to the jammiters. Love the jamiters, but like, I don't know.

Mouselet 3: It's not a character. Yeah, they're just like, yeah, it's just a musician. Yeah. Yeah. You know what's another example of StreamAsphere? Push, the talking trash can. Like that was such a special. No, seriously, like it's I mean, that one was special too because it is. I mean, if you don't know what Push is, Push was a is it push the talking trash can? Isn't that sort of like what the full name is? Push is a trash can that looks just this was in Magic Kingdom, right?

M1: ⁓ yes, Raskin. Bring back push Yeah. In tomorrow land.

Mouselet 3: in Tomorrowland. It was a trash can that looks just like any other trash can ⁓ in Disney World. But it it's literally like moving around and it's talking. And I think the the like the flap of the trash can even can move up and down. And it's like controlled by, you know, somebody off to the side. But honestly w first of all, when you're a kid, you completely buy into it. But even as an adult, like it literally just looks like this talking trash can. And it was so fun because I will say that's yeah. I honestly think push is probably more special than Divine because Push would

M1: Seeing push was so special. Another thing that we thought was so special.

Mouselet 3: Divine is just there, and once you see her, you know, five minutes later you're like, okay, let's move on. But Push is like interacting with kids, like sort of rolling around and stuff. So fun. honestly, I would bring back push, but no, I would bring back the citizen citizens of Hollywood. I think I would bring back like how I would make the decision of what to bring back is the parks that are lacking. Like I know that, ⁓ Animal Kingdom right now, because of sort of all of the refurbished or renovations that are going on, can sometimes fall a little flat and just be like a half day park almost. So, you know, Divine isn't necessarily doesn't take up that much time. ⁓ but there are certain moments ⁓ because of new park expansions or renovations, like before Rock and Roller Coaster reopened, you have Muppet Show Muppet is that the animation courtyard had yet to open and then Muppet Vision 3D and the whole Muppet Cour Courtyard was down as Monstropolis comes together. And then I just feel like sometimes there are sections of the park or even entire parks that are just like really boring and there's like not much to do. If a ride is down, or if you've already seen this show, like that's where I would want to bring back Street Mysphere. But Citizens of Hollywood, definitely. And the world showcase I think sometimes can like jazzed up a bit. I think sometimes that gets a bit stale as there's just like less to do. ⁓ and obviously building an entire ride like Ratatouille or like ⁓ the frozen ride is so costly and surely bringing back something like Server Amu Zan or the Acrobats in China would be less expensive than building an entire attraction. ⁓ so I would bring it back where sort of where it's needed ⁓ the most, but definitely the citizens.

M1: I think yeah, it's hard to one of the questions I was like is like, how would you bring it back in a cost effective way? And I I don't even really know that you can c cut cost many more. Like, what would you say to executives who say it doesn't have enough ROI compared to rides? Honestly, like I don't really think there's anything to say to it. Like that I'm sure that's true, other than the fact that like it's what makes Disney Disney and it what it's what sort of brings breathes the life and the magic in and like There are so many people who now say, like, Disney's lost its magic, you know, and I think like, would they all necessarily just point to Streetmosphere because of that? No, I'm sure not. But like, I think that that is something that Disney does so uniquely well and makes the parks they have like an intangible value of making people sort of feel so immersed, so magical, so surprised and delighted or whatever, that it's like the ROI isn't counting. It's hard to count it in the same way as a ride. But also, you know, I know live entertainment is expensive, but building Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind was certainly more expensive. You know, like it it's about where they choose to invest.

Mouselet 3: Yeah. Yeah. I th I think it's like Disney has those values, not only about like the magic and and immersion, but also like really good customer service and like everything is clean. And there's always a trash can right here. There's always a bathroom right here. And so Disney, unlike maybe Universal or Six Flags or like somebody who just doesn't have those types of of values about the customer experience as strongly or as heavily as Disney does, should be more inclined to invest in like morale, like consumer morale and guest experience. Like, no, they're not paying for it. It but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a financial payout by implementing it. Because honestly, if you think about how expensive the rides are, like the more very good, very high budget, large scale rides that you put in, the more guests are going to want exact versions of that. Like people are already, you know, tired of Guardians of the Galaxy or asking, like, what's the big coaster going to be in the villains land in Magic Kingdom? And those are so expensive. Like you there, there are probably guests who are not booking a trip because they've already done a Already done everything that's in the parks. And so they're just waiting until Tropical America opens or until the new cars land in Imagine Kingdom opens. And so those guests might be more inclined to come back if they feel like a day at Disney is not the same month to month, year to year, because of those more delightful experiences and surprise experiences. You can't plan, you can't book or even pay for. I think like there is an argument to be made that that. is important like because you're not paying for it, because you're not waiting for that ride to open or something. ⁓ it's just like you said, part of a day at Disney, like part of the magic of Disney.

M1: Do you think that with Josh Tomorrow as CEO, like there's hope? Josh DeMarrow, you know, is a parks person and kind of understand seems to understand perhaps more of like the necessary intangibles of the park. So maybe we have like a prayer. Granted, I think some of the things we've had are probably never coming back, but maybe like some new versions will pop up, which the very last thing that I will get to is you had a thought about sort of a way to have streetmosphere, which I'll let you talk about now.

Mouselet 3: Well, just like we said on the cruise, there are these little pockets of entertainment that you can sort of hear as you're walking down a hallway and you can, you know, peek your head into the door and you don't need to you don't need to have been there for the start of the performance. Like you can sort of peek in, pop out. I will say another like part of Street Mosphere that Disney does really well, but it's not there year round is for the special events. Like Jollywood, something that's so fun at Jollywood is there's the What the tip top hotel, is that what it's called, right?

M1: Tip top club.

Mouselet 3: Tip Top Club, thank you, at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. But that is like ⁓ there's a singer and there's somebody dancing, or it sort of is this you very unique thing. ⁓ and I think she comes out like every so often throughout the evening, and there's multiple examples of that at Jollywood Nights, for the Mickey's Not So Scary, like pretty much every special event has those kinds of unique pieces of entertainment. ⁓ sometimes it's something you go to a specific location, other times it's characters walking around that you can meet that you can't usually meet. but I started thinking about Where like what real estate can Disney take advantage of that is currently sitting empty, such as Starring Rolls Cafe, which if you don't know is in Hollywood Studios.

M1: Boo to them for closing starring roles. No, boo to them for closing starring roles. I love starring roles.

Mouselet 3: You hate starring roles. Starring Worlds was a amazing. It wasn't Disney IP and it wasn't Starbucks. It was just a special bakery cafe. ⁓ in literally, like it was like I guess Starbucks is sort of why it went away. But anyway, it's can you describe where it is? It's sort of behind the brown derby as you walk toward down Sunset Boulevard on the left, right? but right now it's just

M1: We ate there every morning at Hollywood Studios. Bring it back. It is. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Mouselet 3: It's just empty. I mean, first of all, it's not that large of a space, but even the courtyard that you could sit in to like drink your coffee or eat your croissant in the morning is just pretty much empty. It's just like a walkthrough. So Disney could put a magician there, you know, for a twenty-minute act three times a day. And that would just be like a fun thing. Or they could even you could go inside ⁓ of that, you know, they could convert that space because there's not really much in there right now, probably. And they're not doing with it anything with it anyways. ⁓ also just think of anything that Mouse at One or Two has said about like abandoned Disney. So ⁓ above Figment in the in one of the two pyramids, I think one of them is a DVC club, but the other one is just, I don't know if it's empty or if there's still like infrastructure there from ImageWorks or whatever was there prior.

M1: It's like mostly nothing, yeah. It's like mostly nothing.

Mouselet 3: Yeah, but like it really wouldn't be that expensive, especially compared to those high budget rides, ⁓ like Guardians or something akin to that. Where, you know, they could even just put up like pipe and drape a black curtain. You can just like go up and see ⁓ like jazz singer, like or you hear somebody and you you walk up there and it's a comedian or something. Just taking advantage not only of the ⁓ walking around Street Mosphere, but also like peeking your head in maybe on a rainy day or again only maybe it's In Apcot, they tie it into one of the festivals like food and wine. It's related to that. I just feel like there's there's places that Disney has nothing to do with that are sort of like awkward, like Stitches Great Escape is just empty or it's like not really doing much. Like you could take advantage of that infrast existing infrastructure and delight guests. I'm very passionate about this.

M1: I I agree. I mean, I would say in general, our family's very passionate about Streetmosphere. And like to wrap it up, Disney taking away streetmosphere gets a giant weight. Bo bo bo bo. And I really hope that they like it's awful. It's awful. It's like one it's I actually have said this before. ⁓ most of the rides that Disney in my time has like taken away have never like super upset me. I've always kind of been like, ⁓ like I'm ready for the next thing. I think the one that I was maybe like saddest about was when they got rid of Happily Ever After, but it has since come back. Like I just have never felt like that that that upset.

Mouselet 3: It's awful.

M1: This is the thing that makes me like it makes me want to scream. It makes me so upset. I like would sign any petition. I would do anything to get that back. So this is our kind of did Disney kill streetmosphere? Kind of. They kind of did on purpose. They wanted to. And I hope that maybe one day, I don't know, Josh Amor seems to think that like we need to sort of bring some of the magic back to the parks. And I maybe he'll do something about it. Maybe not. But that is our that is my rant. That is our discussion on Streetmosphere. Also three is a final point.

The reason for that is like the format of TikToks that do well for us is just like not the type of content that I personally really enjoy creating. Instagram, we both agree, is where our audience feels the closest. Like we talk to people, they feel like they know us. Like they know Mouse Lip One versus Papa Mouselip versus the Micklet. Like they know the family. They know. ⁓ the trips, they know the story that we're like trying to tell. TikTok is kind of like like Mouselit 2 always says, if she was posting a TikTok about our dad, she would say, my dad, versus on Instagram, she would say Papa Mouselit. Like it doesn't feel like people everybody who sees us follows us. Everybody who sees us, it does not, to be clear, it does not feel that way. The ⁓ everybody who sees our content does not follow us, doesn't know us. They feel much more like distant and it's like maybe these are our followers, maybe these are random people. ⁓ it just is like there's like a barrier there. And then YouTube or newer at ⁓ YouTube is tougher for me because I many of you are watching this right now on YouTube. I don't really watch YouTube. So like I mean this is a podcast, so this is like easy. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: Boo button, boo button. I love YouTube. I'm a big YouTube guy. One of my favorite things to do is literally like eat breakfast or eat lunch and just like watch YouTube because it's just

M1: I don't even know what to I don't even know what I would turn on. But yeah, like YouTube for me, I I don't know it as well. So I find it harder to create content. ⁓ the audiences are also different. Like honestly, some of the people on YouTube are leaving crazy comments. Instagram the people are the nicest. However, in terms of where we make the most money, Instagram doesn't pay us a dime. anything that we make on Instagram is off of like brand deals and stuff. TikTok and YouTube do do actually pay. ⁓ okay, you're gonna read the next question.

Mouselet 3: Crazy. So this is from Alessandra, and the question is: how long have you guys been pin trading? Do you trade with other guests or just cast member boards? Trading with other guests terrifies me. ⁓ I would agree, Alessandra, trading with other guests terrifies me. I can remember one time that I traded with a guest, which is when I was probably ten years old and another 10 year old boy came up to me and asked if he could trade pins. And I honestly, if I remember correctly, I think I felt like forced into trading because I felt like weird saying no, and I was not looking to trade. And I I don't remember what pin I lost, but it was just like not I was not old enough to be able to or mature enough to be able to like handle an interaction like that. I think I probably gave away like a pin that was probably super special to me in that moment.

M1: The second, the second pin I ever traded was with a again, I was like 12, not even, and like another 12 year old came up to me and asked if I wanted to trade. And I traded with her for whatever she wanted. And then I went to the store and I rebought the pin that I had traded away because I didn't actually want to trade. ⁓ in general, trading with guests is going to be more stressful because most of the time you're probably not going to be trading with a child like that. You'll be trading with an actual adult.

Mouselet 3: Yeah.

M1: Who's going to be wanting a pin for the similar value of the pin that they're giving you? There are like, there's actually a lot of rules changing right now around the sort of professional pin traders who will put out their boards at Disneyland in this certain area or in Epcot. There's a certain area that they do it. The rules are kind of changing around what's allowed. That would be a more stressful experience. I personally would not probably choose to engage in that just because like I don't, I hate rejection. I don't know. I'd be stressed.

Mouselet 3: Well, because I feel like when you p trade with a cast member, I don't think they're allowed to say no, right? 'Cause it's also it's not yeah, it's not their pins. It's just they their pins for the day. So versus when you're trading with somebody else, I mean, if you find something you really want and they're willing to give it up, like that's probably gonna be super valuable and like even more valuable than finding just a random pin on a cast member's board. ⁓ but they I'd say like ninety nine percent of the time are probably gonna say no because they're y I feel like

M1: They can't say no. A as long as you have a Disney pen. It's not their pen. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: with a cast member, you're usually giving up a pin that is of way lesser value. ⁓ or at least, you know, value to you as sort of a park goer. So how long have we been pin trading though? I wanna say we've been pin trading sort of our whole life. Like since we've been going yeah, like since we've been going to Disney, I remember doing it as kids. I think pin trading in the parks was more popular then, or maybe I just was more in the loop on it. But I think pin trading was more popular like sort of year in the

M1: Like twenty years.

Mouselet 3: Really pre-technology, like pre-smartphones and stuff. But when we were kids, wouldn't you say there was a lot more pin training? Yeah.

M1: Yeah. But now it's like having a resur Yeah, yeah. It sort of went down and now it's like having a resurgence. okay, this is from Emily. Question for M1. Your makeup, even though Florida Heat always looks amazing. So nice. What is your Park Take Lamb Routine foundation setting spray? We need all the tips. I will say I actually have an old YouTube video of like my makeup routine. It's from years ago. I definitely look very different in it, but that is basically still the same. However, I will just say my main ⁓ my main like go to product that I think is the reason my makeup stays so well is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. So that I think that stays incredibly well and I I swear by it. Okay, next question.

Mouselet 3: Sorry. Yes, thank you. Big old boo. Navi River Journey is I mean, I'm not a like I have never seen the Avatar movies, but I'm pretty sure even if I did, I still wouldn't like Navi River Journey. It is way too long of a wait for way too short and boring of a ride.

M1: Yeah, it's it's like the shaman is amazing. The shaman animatronic at the end, but it is a long wait for a short little boat ride with not that much to see about a movie I don't really care about. Navi River is one I would very rarely do. Like if we can get a lightning lane for it, sometimes we'll be like, sure. But no, Flight of Passage is tough because Mouse C and Mouse Little Three both love Flight of Passage. It's like one of Mouse C's favorite rides. Like other than Guardians, it's like his favorite. The issue is that it's an individual lightning lane. And so or it has a really long wait time. Animal Kingdom opens so early that like we aren't frequently rope dropping sometimes, but like it's so so so so so early. And even then the wait for flight of passage is still kind of long. And we just don't always want to pay for an individual lightning lane for these days because yeah, it also makes muscle too sick. I don't know. And then so like not always. And then Pandora, we actually do go to Pandora itself a lot because we eat at Satuly Canteen a lot. Granted, Mouse Three does not like Satili Canteen.

Mouselet 3: I despise Setouli Canteen. I will say the breakfast of Setouli Canteen is fine and I have not tried the iconic Ube Latte yet that ever all the other mouselets love. ⁓ I don't think it was around last time I went, or at least I wasn't aware of it. Setouli canteen, I don't even know what this story is, but long story short, it makes me ill. Okay, one time I was ill and I had Setouli Canteen or I had it and I got ill and I literally cannot even think about the food at Setouli Canteen without feeling nauseous. So I'm we're gonna move right on past that, but I personally am not a Cetulli Canteen lover. ⁓ in fact I'm a hater of Setouli Canteen. So I love Flight of Passage. No, Satulli Cantine's disgust. I'm revolted.

M1: Which is insane. It Situl okay. Situe Santi is so good, so we do talk about it. But yeah, I would say in general, Pandora, like our family isn't really huge into Avatar. Mouse Let C likes Avatar, but like we're not huge into Avatar. ⁓ I would do flight of passage every time if it was part of like regular multipass, but it's not always good enough, just for me and Mouselit too. To get an individual lighting lane for because it's expensive. It's like Tron. Like, we don't do Tron every time. You know, we would do Guardians every time. We would not do Tron every time, we wouldn't Flight of Passage every time.

Mouselet 3: I also feel like sometimes The Animal Kingdom strategy is because everyone is going to Flight of Passage, I feel like we usually end up going to Everest first. Unless we've we are like up early and like rope dropping. But like I feel like Everest because everyone's going to Flight of Pass. Or we also, like I feel like a a mouse that's pro tip, or maybe this is just common knowledge, is to do the Safari early in the morning before it gets really hot because the all the animals are out and the safari is really good. So I think that's opens a little later, but still I feel like it's like Everest Safari. And by that point, like Flight of Passage is just such a long

M1: Yeah. Yeah.

Mouselet 3: line unless you do it first when you're like first in line. ⁓ sometimes it's just not worth it. Or you can do it like way later in the day, but sometimes Animal Kind of is a half day park. So yeah we do like it, but I would say Pand I think by the way, hot take, I think Pandora needs one more thing. I think it's two only having three and it's it even feels very small ⁓ of a of a land. I think that they needed to like add one more little attraction to it. Streetmosphere, maybe

M1: It does. I agree. Okay, this last one is from Yeah. They actually used to have drummers there and they took them away. Yeah. Also, hot take about Street Mosphere. Of all Street Mosphere, my least favorite is drumming. I don't know. I I'm yeah. I know the drummers are very talented, but just listening to drums is not that interesting to me. ⁓ personally. Okay, this is from Katie. This is our last question for today. My husband at the time

Mouselet 3: Didn't they ha used to have drummers? Up on the yeah. Come on, it's it's just it's totally I agree.

M1: 15 month old and myself are going on the wish in November. This is our first Disney cruise, and although I know a lot about the parks, we're not very experienced parkgoers, especially with a baby. We want to spend a few days on property before embarkation day, but this is where I'm stomped. Now that you've all been to the baby, what would you do for those few days? Do you think it's worth the money to go into a park, or should we resort hop, go to Disney Springs, etc.? Here are some thoughts I've had. I want to visit the boardwalks, I would love to stay, but it's too expensive for this trip. I'm dying to go to a Christmas party if applicable, or if it's worth the money with a baby slash toddler. We're staying on property at All Star Sports at the moment, but willing to change that. Okay, so here are some quick thoughts. The Christmas party I absolutely love, and I think that a kid would enjoy it from like a entertainment perspective. It's just late at night. It starts early, but like to get your value for the ticket, you really kind of do want to stay like at least to like 11 p.m. I don't know your child's schedule and if that seems feasible, but I would take that into consideration. ⁓ in terms of what to do, I would say it's worth the money to go into the park. I think that you would enjoy going into the park with your child. Like Magic Kingdom is great to bring kids to. There's plenty that ⁓ your child can do. And like seeing the magic through their eyes is like really, really fun. I don't think you need to be getting like a park hop I don't think you probably need to be going to like Hollywood Studios or anything, but I would go to Magic Kingdom. I think that spending a day at your resort can be fun. All-star sports, admittedly, is not my personal favorite, just because you can end up with lot of sports teams staying there. So it can be kind of like a more chaotic resort. However, you could go to any of the other all-stars if that does happen, if your resort ends up being like super crazy. ⁓ but I think the all-stars are a great choice. If if you want to be able to like relax, you'll be able to hang out by the pool there. I think you could do that. and then yeah, you should go over to the boardwalk for sure. Boardwalk is really fun.

Mouselet 3: And there's also talk about like 'cause it's during the holiday season. It's in November. So I know Grand Florida has the like gingerbread houses. So like what other sort of non park holiday themed things can you do around the resorts besides that? Isn't there are there other things?

M1: Yeah, gingerbread house. It's mainly the Grand Floridian gingerbread house, but they all have Christmas trees. Like Wilderness Lodge is really fun to go see their Christmas tree. And with a baby, like just going around the monorail, going and looking. There's a little gingerbread display at the contemporary, I think would be really nice as well. But yeah, I would at least go to Magic Kingdom. ⁓ whether that's for the Christmas party or otherwise. I think Springs is good too. Springs can just be more chaotic. We don't go there as much, but like I it's like a shopping center. So if your child is good with that, I think it they'd be totally fine.

Mouselet 3: Also if you are depending on the length of your cruise, I feel like something I missed on the cruise because I was trying to do so many of the other entertainment things was like just relaxing by the pool. So just like going to a pool, can you go to other pools or you're at a resort you're not staying at? Okay, we'll go to the All-Star Sports pool. Or ⁓ if you don't end up staying at All Star Star Sports, just like kind of

M1: Yeah. No. No.

Mouselet 3: Lounging and relaxing because although that's what you might do on the cruise, if it's a shorter cruise, you might find that you, especially with the baby, are like not able to spend as much time outside just kind of relaxing by the pool, tanning or something like that. So if that's more your style, you could definitely take one of those days ⁓ before the cruise to just sort of lay low and relax.

Mouselet 3: My pit is this week is kind of like super hectic with stuff going on with the house that I'm buying. And so there's a lot of like closings right around the corner. So it's like what's in between now and then insurance. There's I'm like going to the house very often and like getting quotes on like this renovation work being done or like this installation happening or or things like that. So it's just a lot of logistics to be managing. ⁓ and Mouse Let J is super busy right now ⁓ with his job, and so he's sort of like removed from From that stress. I'm sort of managing it for the both of us currently. ⁓ until his like chaotic period of of time at work ends. ⁓ so that on top of like my actual job is just a bit stressful to manage. I will pause there because I was gonna lead. Actually, I'll I'll go right into my peach. On the on the other hand, I will say my peach of the week is.

M1: Good, go to your peach.

Mouselet 3: We now have nothing between us and closing. And this is the first time that's happened since this process began like four or five months ago. ⁓ we have a bit of like a unique house buying situation, and so it's not as fast as some others have been. So this has just been like kind of a very slow burn since January, and so now, like officially as of yesterday, there's nothing between us and closing. We have like scheduled closing, and it's just a matter of time before that actually happens. So the peach for me is like really getting excited about the house and being able to be there during the week. ⁓ and even just like working from the house feels exciting because it's starting to feel like it's more so mine and not just like this random house that I'm in. So I'm really excited about that.

M1: I love it. My Ph is that I have a fun weekend. Mouse C gets home on Friday and I miss him and I can't wait to see him. Then our town is doing a little event like Friday, Saturday, Sunday, where like a lot of local vendors will be out. ⁓ and I love all the little events that our town puts on. I also am going to be seeing the people from my mommy and me class that ended again for the first time. I know we're all gonna meet up, which like I know. Yeah, we're we're gonna we're gonna go meet at a playground like hang out with the babies and stuff.

Mouselet 3: Thank God, is somebody or is somebody organizing a playgroup? ⁓ my god, yay.

M1: So that'll be fun. And then one of my friends who lives in Ohio is going to be in town and get to come see me and the Miklit in our house. So I have a very fun weekend plan and I'm excited. ⁓ now our final, yeah, well, I mean, please. But you know and then our final little bit, we're going to do our fact of the day. So my fact is that, and I'm actually considering doing my YouTube deep dive for the week on this. So maybe you'll see that on Monday. I don't know what I'm doing it on yet.

Mouselet 3: Better rest up between between now and then.

M1: But before there was like the Playoffs Disney and Disney Junior live on stage show and all that, in that section there was a restaurant that was called the Soundstage Restaurant. And up in the rafters of that restaurant was a bar called the Catwalk Bar, ⁓ which I think is so cool. And that bars yeah, and that bar space has now been turned into the Club 33 in Hollywood Studios. ⁓ but I wish that that was still present because I think that that's so cool.

Mouselet 3: I had no idea. Honestly, I will say on the topic of streamosphere and stuff and the cruises, like lounges, Disney's, I think, leaning more so into with what just opened up in the what is it Pirates themed in Adventureland? Like, yeah.

M1: Yeah. Beacon beacon barrel.

Mouselet 3: Lounges and those kinds of again, like bite-sized little pieces of things that are like better than quick service, but not as much of equipment as anyway. My fact of the day is has to do with the new rock and roller coaster that's been r Muppets re-themed. ⁓ I haven't been on it in person, but I've been sort of poking around and seeing other people's posts and videos and things. And there is it it's in the queue, the poster, right? It's like as you're waiting. ⁓ in sort of that last room, there's a poster about

M1: Mm-hmm.

Mouselet 3: a lost bunny. I forget exactly what the word is, but it's like l lost I guess it just says lost bunny. ⁓ and that is sort of a reference to Muppet Vision because Bean Bunny ran away. And so I think there's definitely a whole slew of other Easter eggs that are from either Muppet Vision or just like Muppets in general that are hidden throughout the Rockin' queue and I imagine the ride as well. ⁓ but yeah that was one that I saw ⁓ that I thought was cool.
