M2: Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of Sisters Sisters and a follow up to last week's episode where we're talking all things babies at Disney. M1: I am extremely close to sneezing. I have a sneeze so close. I have been sick since the Saturday of our Disney trip. It's currently Wednesday, May 20th. I got sick on May 10th. I'm so annoyed about it. I was telling you all so too. This is for, this is some. M2: You have been sick since our Disney trip. M1: some mouse let's one some mouse let's one more actually so what year was that 2024 it was 2024 yeah 2024 we spent a day working remote from epcot it was actually so nice it was a little bit hot but it was very nice you're working remote from epcot that was the day that i also happened to go to um france and buy my wedding perfume and i M2: eye rolling if you're not watching on video. 2020, it was before the cruise, yeah. Okay, the France Pavilion in Epcot. M1: ⁓ yes, not the country. And I was so stuffed up and sick. I felt disgusting to the point actually that I was complaining about it so much on stories that a follower offered to buy and bring me Afrin. And I said, you know what? I said, I said, that would be amazing. So nice. And I felt hideous because of this. And I texted Mouselet too about an hour before we were... M2: And you took her and you said yes, which is insane. So nice of them. Wait, let me interject to the Epcot thing. She looked completely fine. Okay, we're both wearing these black dresses. Yeah, that's what I was about to say. You refused to wear that dress. She literally looked completely fine. I'll like go to post those pictures and she's like, oh my God, the one thing I'll say. M1: I can't even wear that dress anymore. Guys, my nose was like rubbed red. looks like I had a big clown nose. Ugh. M2: It didn't it to be clear it didn't but what I will say about those pictures is I feel like I look which made me sort of sick I feel like I look incredibly incredibly young all right wait I need to just twice this week. Okay, once last week, some kid at this conference called me unk because I wouldn't come out with them at like midnight, which is what you call like an old person or something. And then today, I said something about how I thought we would have to wear hard hats. And they're like, No, we don't. That's not the rule anymore. And someone sent a meme of like an old man being like, back in my day. Are you M1: Hehehehehe That's what happens, that's what happens when you're 30. M2: I said, are you kidding me? Like, anyway, I feel, I don't know why that was even relevant. M1: Welcome to being 30 anyways. Because you thought you looked young in the pictures when I looked disgusting on that day. M2: ⁓ I do. It's like I wouldn't even post them anymore anyway because everyone would be like your post. I mean, maybe I would, but it looks like I was very young. M1: And I look very sick. And I told Melsyletoo about an hour before this, said that how I felt that day, so sniffly and disgusting and sick and just feeling so ugly is how I feel right now. So I'm doing a Jammie party tonight. Jammie pod. And Melsyletoo is doing a Jammie pod too. You just can't see them because they're under her sweatshirt. M2: I'm not. You know the day that I looked the most hideous. M1: Are you going to say that day at Epcot last year with the family? You looked, once again, you looked completely fine. M2: Yep. Ruined my entire day. It ruined my entire I looked hideous. Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. M1: You look fine. Anyways, a few other pieces of housekeeping. Mouselet 2 and I each have some fun travel coming up, which actually might include a surprise Disney trip. We're going to talk more about some of these things soon. There's also more about it on the Sitting on the Ground Talking segment that we recorded before this for Patreon. But for now, what you need to know is that most likely the next week's episode of the podcast is going to be just Mouselet 2 and Mouselet A talking. M2: because we are going to Disneyland Paris, which I'm very excited about. We're also going to Paris and London, but we'll be talking all about our plans for Disneyland Paris. Also, we've been to Disneyland Paris a bunch of times before, so talking a little bit more about that, kind of some of the fun stuff they have, some of the new stuff like the Frozen Land. So we'll be talking about that next week while Mouselet One is in Europe for a wedding, unrelated. M1: Yeah, unrelated to Mouseletoo's trip. And then the following week when Mouseletoo is actually in Disneyland Paris, I will be on, I don't really know with whom yet, Mouseletoo 3 probably. And we'll be chatting about something and then it will be unclear and then it will be business as usual after. So that's what you have to look forward to coming up. But a few other things I wanted to talk about in this segment. There are some new things happening at Disney and the first, M2: Mouselet three probably. M1: is kind of a womp, womp, womp, womp for us. M2: It's kind of funny that you didn't put this in the news section. M1: Okay, I had it in the news segment, but then I figured it was good to, it's more of like chit chat amongst us. It is technically news. I have that C that says, this is also news, but I want to discuss. M2: Okay, well the first piece of news, actually posted this on all social platforms on Wednesday, yesterday, if you're listening now on Thursday, it is Wednesday as we're recording, hence why I'm confused. Anyway, Everest is considering testing out a change in how they do their boarding process. So if you've ever written Guardians of Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, you might not even realize this, but when you get to the bottom of the ramp, they say how many in your party? And if you're an odd number, you go in one line. And if you're an even number, you go in another line. And it just makes loading a lot simpler because they can load all of the odd numbers and not have to try to find a single rider to like, if you have a three and then a two and a four or whatever. And it's very effective on Guardians of the Galaxy, Cawthon and Grewind, I think like to keep it as full as possible. Ever... M1: People have asked, like, isn't Guardians opening a single writer? And it's like, that's kind of why. They really don't need to. M2: They rarely need to. ⁓ Everest is a little bit different because they don't have that system. So they have a lot of empty seats and that's why they have, and they make such good use out of the single rider line. Same thing with like rock and roller coaster. So now Everest is testing a process. That's the same basically as Cosmic Rewind. They have an odd and an even, and they still have the single rider line to be clear, but people who have been sitting in it, waiting in it have said it takes like maybe five trains just to get one single rider on. It's taking like five, 10 times as long. I have to defend Disney. They shouldn't be prioritizing a single rider line. They should be prioritizing getting the actual queue to be faster. What I will question is the fact that I don't think that Everest is ever that long of a way. When does it go for like 50 minutes ever? maybe just because there's not lot going on in the park. Maybe it would be beneficial if people stood in the queue though. M1: Yeah. Yeah, I guess I know. I think the only reason Disney has a single rider line is not because they care about single riders. Unfortunately, it's because they want to be as efficient as possible with loading the vehicle and a single rider line lets them do that. However, it does make sense that like they just want the line actually to move as efficiently as possible. And this is a more efficient system. The reason I'm it's interesting to me that they're doing it on Everest specifically. Everest is I would say one of the most efficient loading coasters there is. It just moves. They have a lot of cast members already. It moves really fast. That single rider line flies in like a good way. And like you said, the line really doesn't get that. I mean, the line is usually like 30 minutes. I don't know. Yeah, it's not that long. M2: 30 minutes. I think the Everest has been sort of chaotic with the loading recently a little bit, but I do think they have they can run up to like five trains at once. I'm pretty sure I agree. I think it's pretty efficient. It's also been open for 20 plus years. M1: They should have done this with the Rock and Rollercoaster re-theme, which actually dovetails us well into next, what I wanted to talk about. Maybe they, yeah, maybe they did, but like, Guardians has it set up where when you get to the bottom of the ramp, they'll ask you how many in your party, and then you go in line one or line two. Line one is for odd, line two is for even. It's set up that way, so it's very clean. ⁓ Rock and Everest, they don't have the infrastructure for it, and like, I just think it could get very chaotic. M2: Well, and they might be. Probably not. They've definitely been doing some sort of study or something because even with Cosmic Rewind, when you exit the like the last pre-show, they're holding different groups. they're clearly the Imagineers, the efficiency people are out there trying to optimize things. But, ⁓ yeah, let's talk about Rockin'. There have been some previews, cast member previews, and others of Rockin' Roller Coaster, and they all were allowed to drop all of their stuff today on May 20th. M1: Yeah. M2: And so we got to see some of the pre-show and some of the inside. We didn't get to the ride, but we got to see some of the inside of the garage. M1: We, yeah, we basically, I would say we've basically seen everything except the ride. I've seen where the ride lets out, like the exit, and then the beginning. And pretty much, it's kind of what we said on this podcast. Like not that much changed. It is rock and roller coaster, now with Muppets props and stuff, which is honestly with me, for me, completely fine. I do not mind that at all. M2: It's like, oh great. I don't think we need to reinvent the wheel. Like the garage theming works. They can retrofit some Muppet. That's very Muppet energy anyway, so. M1: did hear in a video that I think Disney Parks posted, ⁓ one of the cast members was like, now let's go get you in your limo. So I guess that's like their funny Muppets name. I know, but it was like L.I.M.M.O. I didn't realize that it was going to be pronounced differently. They specifically said limo. ⁓ I love that they have the real animatronics for some of the characters during the pre-show. And I love M2: They already announced that it's called like levitating something movable object. turn today. and Settler and Waldorf. Me too. M1: They're my favorite part. I love that they brought Sattler and Maldorf over from Muppet Vision 3D. They brought a few things over from Muppet Vision 3D, which like obviously makes sense. But that to me was an amazing addition. M2: such a good ad and they had a little like similar dialogue like we're bolted to the seats or something. I'm happy because I liked Rock and Roller Coaster. It wasn't my favorite. also like I like Aerosmith, I guess, like I suppose like they're they're I like yeah I mean I liked them in the ride I guess some like because it's in Mrs. Doubtfire. That's the only reason we that's some big Mrs. Doubtfire. M1: Do I? I have no feelings on them, I guess. I like Dude Looks Like a Lady, that song from Mrs. Doubtfire. That's, that's um, we love, we love Mrs. Doubtfire. M2: I watched that movie like three or four times a year. Same. It's amazing. Every single second of it. It's an amazing movie. Huge project project. ⁓ Probably fans. ⁓ Yeah, I'm excited to write it. I think it's a good move overall. I think they did a good job. Muppet. ⁓ they also have a Jim Henson like Muppet picture up there. I think that certain people are going to be sad that Muppet Vision 3D is gone, but I think we can agree that it was not bringing in crowds and it was time and it is sad because it was Jim Henson's last project. But like M1: I love that movie. It's amazing. Rubber Robin Williams fans. M2: All good things must come to an end. The Muppets have something exciting now. The only thing that I'll give is that certain people can't or won't ride rock and roller coaster until they don't get to kind of experience the Muppets, which is a shame, but. M1: But they should go through the pre-show at least. Like you can still go see the pre-show ⁓ if your party is waiting. ⁓ yeah, maybe not like a little kid, I guess. M2: I don't know if a kid can. But they could go through the gift shop. I'm sure there's some details and stuff. I don't know. That's the only part that's sort of unfortunate, I guess. M1: I am curious to see what it looks like within the actual ride, like how much they kept of like going through Los Angeles versus have it themed to Muppets. Obviously everything in there has to just kind of be like a huge prop. So I'm curious to see. I personally like I didn't love Aerosmith. I don't personally love the Muppets. Like I'm not a Muppet stan, but I like them. M2: I used to think that I loved the Muppets until I met like Taryn and other Muppet fans and then I said, okay. Sorry, wait, no, like think it, like Mouselet1, like let's go a scale of like one to 10 about the Muppets. You're like a three. I always saw myself as a seven. No, I'm like a 3.2. Taryn is like a 150. And like, that's the like, I'm like, I couldn't even, yeah, truly call myself a true Muppet fan. I like the Muppets though. M1: You did, yeah. Never mind. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I feel no particular way about them, but I like that it's I like having Disney IP in the parks. Like I like that it's a Disney thing. Aerosmith was like, I don't know, kind of random. So those are her rocking thoughts. ⁓ yes. M2: Okay, wait, one more thing. A lot of people are saying should they have done Power Line? And I'm not a Goofy movie fan that much. So I'm like, actually would rather have the Muppets. M1: Me neither. Me neither. There was another really weird one that people were saying, ⁓ Phineas and Ferb. Like, mom, Phineas and Ferb are building a roller coaster or whatever. Again, feels random to me. M2: There's 104 days of summer vacation when school comes along just to end it. I actually, I sort of would have supported that. All right, the last thing is that animation courtyard opened early as a soft opening. I'm obsessed. M1: They could have done that song. Okay, the last. I'm obsessed. Guys, if you haven't seen it right now, go on your Instagram, go to Walt Disney World's Instagram. They posted a carousel. There are other creators who have posted it too, but ⁓ my God, I'm obsessed. M2: And just like to be clear, and I actually this is perfect because we're talking on the podcast and like everyone is a huge Disney fan or like almost everyone is. So this that really helps because it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea because you kind of have to get it. And I feel like like most of us will kind of get it. It ties back to the original animation building. They have all of the touches of like the studio and just the classics. And it's and it ties back to old MGM. And it's like they just it's it is quintessential. I will give you that. M1: It's quintessential. It's quintessential. It's it's quintessential. I love they have little like props of various characters just like peeking throughout the courtyard. They have like an old fashioned ⁓ street post sign that again, it like looks like the real ones and yeah. M2: I love that sign. I want that sign for like a little like desk thing. M1: literally same and like Burbank. It's so well done. It's nothing crazy. It's nothing over the top. It's not like you're stepping into Galaxy's Edge or something, but for what it's meant to be to me, it's like perfect. It feels so much better than the stupid open, yes, than the stupid open courtyard that was there before. It's so good. I'm obsessed with it. I cannot wait to see it in person. M2: feels timeless. I just thought of my fact of the day. if I forget, just say the word courtyard and I'll remember. There were actually some character meet and greets that were out in that area. So Disney has announced who would be inside. And we talked about that previously. It's like Mulan and Rapunzel and you know, the Fab Five. I have beef with that. I so strongly think that Oswald and like Mushu and stuff should be there. But walking around today was J-Ped-O. Oh wait, okay. Someone asked me what episode we told that story. And I listened. M1: I know. M2: until so many of our episodes that I could not find it. So if anyone remembers for some reason, let us know because I really want to respond and I just, was not able to find it. But Geppetto Pinocchio, the new, cause we call him Miko Dale question mark, no chip, Jasmine, Tiana and Navin were all walking around that area today. M1: Those were just characters that I have seen people post on social media as being around. There were potentially others as well, but that's fun. Who knows if they're gonna keep that up. Again, this was a soft opening. The animation courtyard, like building and experience is not opening yet. It will open later this year. So like, who knows how that's gonna play into things with characters, but for now I'm obsessed. M2: Let's get into the rest of the news and you know. We just talked about some cool kids summer has officially kicked off cool kids summer. If you don't know is, ⁓ it's almost like a little promotion that Disney is doing really just to kind of get people into the parks during the summer. I think they branded as cool kids summer because kids are out of school. That's probably where it comes from, but it's not just for kids. There's so much fun stuff. There's like activations all over the parks. We'll be at, we'll get to experience it. We loved it. So we'll be doing a lot of coverage. There's a lot of just small things that just like bring a little more life into the park. I guess that's how describe them. M1: Like there's like a little bit more like street-mosphere feeling, you know, just like sort of things happening in, in, yeah, in spaces where there's kind of normally nothing, which is really fun. Both water parks are open during Cool Kids Summer. ⁓ and you do get the free water park day on your check-in day. And then something that I think is cool as a, as a new mom who just traveled to Disney and was looking into this when I went. So Disney typically, and we'll talk about this more in the main episode. M2: jugglers and magicians and clowns. M1: Disney always will allow you to request a pack and play and or a crib and they will always accommodate that request. But they have some other things too that like can be hit or miss. But for cool kids summer, they have these available to anybody who wants them. They have a bottle warmer, a baby bathtub, diaper pail, bed rails. It's really nice. If you're going to the baby, like they want you to feel comfortable. And so they have all these things available for you, which I think is amazing. M2: I think it is amazing too. think that they should, I don't know, maybe that's too much to ask. I don't know. I don't really know what standard hotels have, but I think it would be great if they had these all time around, but that might be like a big ask for like, I don't know. I don't know how anything works with maybe, so. M1: I agree. I agree. They should. I think it's all organized by housekeeping, which is interesting. Yeah. M2: ⁓ I guess that kind of makes sense because they're stalking the rooms. All right. The last little kind of piece of news before we get into what's opening very, very soon is that the Millennium Falcon is on Friday changing to Mandalorian and Grogu. There'll be a Grogu mode instead of a Chewie mode. And you're trying to capture like ex-Imperial people also trying to get cargo. I'm excited about it. I think that while I like the mission that was there and I think you would agree. You can only get two containers of coaxium and I sort of feel like... M1: Well, can you get more in this new mission, do we know? M2: I don't even know if it's coaxium in this. saying in the original mission, I was just like, I didn't want to fall off that hill. I was piloting to perfection. Don't make me fall off the hill. I'm crushing it, you know? So I'm excited for this one. And you know, there originally were supposed to be four total, so. M1: Yes. Yes, I know. Yeah, I think it'll be nice. love a change. Disney often with their sort of screen rights that seems like they could easily make a change they never do. And so it's nice that they did for this one. ⁓ M2: On May 26th, Rock and Roller Coaster opens. Bluey opens at the whatever, the old Rafiki's, I don't know what they're gonna call it now, but Bluey's opening up. Very curious to see how that dance party kind of works and like. M1: People are loving it at Disneyland. But Disneyland has a stage, I know. It's different for us. ⁓ M2: But it's a show. It's a show at Disneyland. And what are they doing with the old petting zoo area? M1: But I think it's gone. But like, I don't know what's there instead. M2: I think I once said they were putting animals in it and then Mickey Mouse Clubhouse live on stage coming back. M1: It's new though, it's a new show. Instead of Disney Junior. M2: Do you want to Okay, I still call Disney Junior Playhouse Disney because every time I think that I know which one it is, I get confused. M1: Okay, here's a quiz. When you think of Playhouse Disney, who do you think of? I think of one character. M2: I think of Baron the Big Blue House and Rolly Polly Olly. M1: I think of Rolly Polly Olly always, always. I literally immediately picture Rolly Polly Olly, iconic king. M2: Do know my favorite thing about Rolly Polly only was was that I saw one specific episode where Rolly Polly only went to like a different space thing and they were all squares instead of circles. Okay. No, you know what I've talked about before and I need to tell the story again. have to, I have to. Lloyd something, Lloyd something and I watched one episode of it where a character got to shoot the alien. M1: I actually knew this because you've like talked about this before. It's so random. The alien. No, you've talked about this before. M2: The species of alien got to choose if they wanted to be a boy or girl and all the boys said be a boy. Here's why you should be a boy and all the girls said be a girl. Here's why you should be a girl and in the end that alien decided to wait until they were older to make the decision and that always stuck with me. The only one ever saw yeah, that's the only one I ever saw. And on that note Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is back. I said I would never go to it, but maybe I would because our main topic is talking all about. M1: And this episode really stuck with you, but you've talked about this before. M2: planning a perfect trip with the baby and also recapping a lot of what M1 and I guess the whole family experienced. ⁓ So let's get into it. I'm running the show. M1: ⁓ we both hit it at the same time. Okay, so for this, how to plan the perfect trip with a baby. I wanted to start talking a little bit about transportation because this is gonna tie then into choosing a resort. So my first question, do you recommend renting a car with a baby? What are your thoughts? Mine are, if you can, yes. M2: No. Okay. My thoughts are no. If you're asking, here's the thing that was tough with the car. Well, maybe you should say, yeah. Why do you think yes first? I guess that might make more sense. M1: So ⁓ when you have a baby, like I had a three month old, so he was in a bassinet stroller. That is just so inconvenient to have to fold up fully for Disney transportation. It was also inconvenient to have to fold up into my own rental car, but in my own rental car, like I'm not trying to get on and not stop a whole line of people. So it was just kind and you could like throw stuff in and it was just kind of like, okay, whatever. Trying to fold that to get consistently on Disney transportation. M2: Yes. M1: think would be challenging. If you have a baby that's a little bit older and is in a more standard stroller that just has like a more regular collapse than a bassinet would, I think that it would be less bad. But in general, collapsing your stroller, you have to then hold the baby also if baby's sleeping. It's not amazing. M2: I was going to say from the airport, you took mirrors and you don't need it on a bus in general. guess you don't need a car seat? Which M1: No, you don't need a car seat on a bus. Which is very nice because I did have, if you're renting a car, you will need to bring your car seat, which I had to do. So if you're taking mirrors and then you're just gonna use Disney transportation, you don't need to bring a car seat, which is a huge perk. I agree with that. M2: Like I would say, yeah, so in my opinion, don't, I didn't enjoy being in the rental car. There were six of us, okay, first off, including the baby. And there were two seats in the middle of the car, which means that two people had to sit in the back and the trunk was just small. It was a spacious car. just like, we were fitting a lot of stuff. I was pretty much in the back every single time. Actually I was, except like one time I sat in the front. The pit of my trip was that rental car. M1: It's funny because the, Mouselotou said in the vlog that she made, there's a clip of her being like, it's actually been so convenient having this rental car. And she said, and you know what? Why would I say that? Because I hated that rental car. M2: Yeah, it is. Two, two, two claps. I said it like. It was so brutal because the baby had to sit in the middle and it was just, it was, it was brutal. Um, I think that for us on that type of trip, it kind of made sense with our, like, we are changing resorts and stuff, but I was coming on like, say a six day long family trip, staying on site, saying it just Caribbean beach, whatever. I would take mirrors, no question to Caribbean beach. I would use the Skyliner to get around and then yes, to go to two parks, I would have to take a bus and I would fold up this roller and suck it up. like. M1: Yeah, well this ties into my next thing, which is the monorail and the Skyliner are the best forms of transportation when you have a baby because you don't have to fold your stroller. It is so nice. I do think it's a little bit hard getting the stroller on and off the Skyliner because it doesn't stop moving, but M2: I didn't have that issue though when I moved it on and off for you. M1: Yeah, but I did a little bit. The boat, it depends on the type of boat. So for some of the bigger boats, you do not have to collapse it. But for some of the smaller ones you do, it's kind of like if you're staying on a resort that has boat transportation, it kind of is just like luck on what boat you get. M2: Well, just the monorail resorts are the ones with the smaller boats and like wilderness lodge because the friendship boat, if you're staying at beach club boardwalk, those just have the friendship boats and you can wheel it on, correct? Yeah, I think so too. M1: Yeah. I believe so. Well, I think so. And then the bus is the worst. So that all ties into the resort. Because I would say one of the main things to consider when choosing a resort would be somewhere with convenient access slash transportation. I personally would not really want to stay at a resort that is only bus transportation if I could avoid it. M2: And not only that, a resort that has an internal bus loop. Like, no, no, no, no, M1: ⁓ my God, that would be awful. That would be really tough. Yeah, that would be tough. in that scenario, you're staying on maybe the monorail loop. So that would be Grand Floridian Polynesian Contemporary. You could do like Wilderness Lodge for the boat transportation, but it's not as good. Boardwalk area would be amazing. So Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Resort, but also Swan and Dolphin would be a great more affordable option over there. And then... Skyliner Resort so Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century or Art of Animation. Skyliner is honestly probably the best transportation with a stroller because you get your own Skyliner which is so nice. M2: I think that Caribbean Beach is the best resort to stay at if you're trying to get transportation to be the easiest because it's easy to get to Hollywood. It's pretty fast to get to Epcot. You don't have to transfer because you're at your resort. M1: Does it have an internal bus loop? Caribbean Beach? You could walk though. M2: I mean, it's... Yeah, you could walk to the main one. I mean, yes, it's great for two. guess the downside is getting to Magic and Animal Kingdom. M1: Yeah, art of animation would be good, I think. M2: or pop, they're all the same to me. M1: I just prefer animation to pub. M2: We've never, one of the only results we've ever stayed at. I agree though. think the folding it up on the bus, you have to take your stuff out. Like there, there is like an art to keeping the stroller. You got a lot of feedback online, some positive, some negative about your stroller. And I want to talk about this. this, M1: I have a point on that later to go over some of the stroller feedback. Resort. M2: Okay, fine. So we'll keep talking talking resorts. The biggest lesson learned for you, I think is do not book a king room. M1: Yeah, so I have a note on your room size. Something I did not think about when I got to, when I requested my room and it said, do you want a king room? I said, that'd be amazing. A king bed, I talked about this last week. I won't go on a whole rant about it again, but a king bed makes your room smaller. I think in general, if you are going with a baby and depending on how many people are in your party, you need to be very mindful of room size. So one of the things we'll talk about later you can get with a baby is a crib. in your room. A crib in a a pack and play takes up like kind of a lot of space. Like it just does obviously in the Grand Floridian. We were just able I didn't get one at All Star Music. I just use the stroller bassinet. But at Grand Floridian we were just able to slip in between the two beds and it was like kind of bulky at ⁓ All Star Music. I couldn't do that because I got a king bed. M2: I think you could have put it at, well, the Valley Resort just have smaller rooms in general, but I think at the Grand you probably could have put it at the base of the other bed. It would have been less convenient for you, but yeah. M1: Yeah, we could have, it just was hard to walk around. Yeah. So I would just be mindful of if you're going to be requesting that crib or pack and play, how many suitcases do you have? Like if you're going, honestly, as a family of let's say like three or four with a baby, I would not recommend staying in a value room. You are just really not gonna have space, I don't think. M2: I was about to say the exact same thing, but I was going to even add if you are going with a family of three or four plus a baby, I would 100 % either rent Disney Vacation Club points. So rent DVC points with David's Vacation Club rentals because you can stay in a bunch of different resorts for not that expensive and you can get a one bedroom and it will be a game changer or stay in the All-Star Music Family Suite, which is what I did with mom and pop a mouse on that trip. And M1: ⁓ my God, game changer. M2: That was so much space. There's a room, the king bed. Now I will say, I think you could fit the crib where the chair is. It might be a little tight, but you could fit it. Then there's like a main room or you could swap. But I really think people would really like having more space. It would feel tight. Even like the Port-A-Leans rooms. If you think about those, they're a little bigger, but with a crib and for other people, it'd be tight. M1: It would be tight, just like having places to put all your stuff. It just would be tight. I think you're right that having like, if you're gonna be in just a standard room, be mindful of what resort you're in and how many square feet those rooms are. But ultimate game changer is staying in some sort of suite or villa that has multiple rooms. That will really give you kind of the ultimate flexibility. ⁓ Another thing I said about thinking about the resort is like, this will probably be a trip with more resort time than usual. So consider like, do you really, do you want to be spending a bunch of time at the pool and have like a resort with a really nice pool? Or do you want a resort that maybe has more restaurants than other resorts so that you aren't just eating like a quick service food court every night or whatever it may be, if you really are going to be kind of planting yourself at the resort. M2: Yeah, I think that's, think that's a good point. It kind of brings us to the discussion, which is like, what would be our ultimate recommendation? And I think I sort of have three. I'll start with my first. I love staying in the All-Star Music Family Suite, but because of the bus, I would say that you'd be better off paying more money for the Art of Animation Family Suite. One downside, they have double beds instead of Queens for the Murphys, but I think you can make that work because you're on the Skyliner, which would be so convenient and you're in that Family Suite. you have more space and I just think that would just I think it would really just change the trip for the better. M1: I agree, being on the Skyliner is a game changer. Having that extra space is amazing. I think if you 100 % want to stay value, I would do pop because you at least get the Skyliner access and again. M2: I think I would do all-star music and stay in the family suite and then do the bus and have an organized bag or rent a car if I felt like I needed to. M1: and deal with the bus. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Because being in a value resort with multiple people and a crib is just, is gonna be tough. ⁓ For moderate, I would hands down choose Caribbean, okay. M2: Wait, one more thing about the value though with the two Murphy beds if it's just a couple and a baby if you got the two Murphy beds you can just leave that Murphy bed up and you'll be fine for space with a little baby if you have more than two people plus the baby then then I stand by the point. M1: That's true. Yes. I agree. For moderate, mean, art of animation or 100 % for me Caribbean beach because of Skyliner. M2: Okay, are you calling art? I hate that you call art of animation a moderate resort. It's a value resort. It's officially 100 % a value resort in the category. M1: It's not. Okay, but the cost of it isn't. I... M2: People are get confused though. It is a value. It was my choice for a value to stay in. M1: But it's only a value because of the Little Mermaid rooms. Like, it's not a value in terms of cost. M2: Okay, Saratoga Springs is like a moderate then. Let's keep it simple. It's a value. ⁓ My choice for a moderate would be Caribbean beach, as I said. M1: Yeah, Caribbean beach 100 % skyliner. M2: I think if not Caribbean beach, guess I would say the grandest, you know, at Coronado. You're taking the bus the whole time, but I don't know. M1: At least you don't have to deal with the internal bus loop. If you're not, other than that, you need to pretty much do Portolines French Quarter, because it doesn't have an internal bus loop. If you're staying in one of the casitas in Coronado or in Riverside, it's just gonna, you're you're schlepping it on the bus. That's tough. M2: Yeah, agreed. All right. M1: Deluxe for me, there's so many good options, but I think if I could choose one, honestly, I would choose one on the boardwalk. M2: ⁓ interesting. And why? Because you want to take the friendship boats? Because the boardwalk's not that convenient to the Skyliner. M1: But like you can get to the Skyliner, either Boardwalk or Beach Club, Yacht Club. I don't really have a preference. You can get to the Skyliner super easily and you can walk into the back of Epcot. And there's a lot to just like do if you're going back to the resort and you kind of need to like chill, get food. Like it's just a nice area to be in. M2: I think that I would choose contemporary. And the reason that I say that is because you can walk right to Magic Kingdom, which is so convenient. And I feel like with a baby, it's kind of the park you want to be at the most. And then also it's a quick hop on the on the monorail to get to Epcot. And you're just popping over quick. You're getting on the way back. Yes, you're going to go around a little bit more. But I think in my mind, that one's convenient. I also love singing the grand. M1: Me too, I loved staying at the grant. It was a really good, it was a really good place to be with the baby, I thought. It was very relaxing. Something I like about the contemporary one though, is being in one building, there's something about being in one building. It's rare. M2: You know what? What if though, instead of being in the main building, this could be so fun. This could be so fun. Instead of staying in the main building, like pictures of the tower. No. What if you stayed in a tiny little motel style building with much shorter? It's the same, almost the same price. It's like a little bit cheaper. You walk in, you can touch your hand to the ceilings. They're so low drop ceiling, a reeking mildew scent and you stay in the garden wing of the contemporary. M1: I love this idea. I love this idea. but it's still like $750 a night instead of 850. Little bit of a mildew scent. Guys, if you don't know this lore, you gotta go listen to, I don't even know, some episode from like over the summer or something. M2: thoughts? When we were saying in the contemporary and I mean, I'm grateful to the contemporary whenever but I just like if I was recommending a stay in the contemporary and I knew you were going to stay in the garden wing, I would say you're not saving enough money to justify staying in that room. Some people might love it. M1: But yeah, something, a benefit of the contemporary is that you're in one building and actually with the baby, being able to like have one person be in the room with the baby and you can walk out and literally take an escalator down to a food court, to stores, is staying in air conditioned, is being in like literally your pajamas, is just a different vibe than most of the other resorts. And I do think that that would be really nice. M2: I guess, yeah, you do have to go down the elevators, so that would be mildly inconvenient. I'll say the boardwalk to get down. Again, you have to do the elevators, which isn't quite as convenient. I'm also sort of leaning towards Riviera as a good choice with the single building and the Skyliner. I agree. think the single building versus the larger resort is a good size. All right, one last question I want to ask you, and I know what you're going to say, and I already took away your boo button, so let's see you can find it. Do you see it? M1: I thought of Rivera too, because of the Skyliner. see it. Nothing changed for me. No. Did you rename it? Because for me it says booing. Just like usual. Guys, Mouseletu tried to ban me from using the boo button in the sitting on the ground talking segment of the show. M2: Are you kidding me? Yeah She says... Cause she hit it like 10 times. So I'm going to just rename it knowing that you anyway, I would say my question is, would you do a split stay with a baby? Here's the thing. Pause. Would you do a split stay without a baby? So not even. M1: Hey. The answer is absolutely not never. No, I wouldn't. wouldn't. OK, but realistically, I would do a split stay without a baby. And I have many, many, many, many, many times. Not my favorite, but it's OK with the baby. We did a split stay. I would never recommend we did it to save money. And like, am I happy that we were able to save money? Yes. But it is such a nightmare having to pack all of that stuff up with the baby. It was so unpleasant. I would never, ever, ever, ever recommend a split stay with a baby. ⁓ M2: I just need to defend myself and say that this trip was originally just me and mama Mouselet. And so I wanted to stay at All Star Music to just like experience it because I haven't stayed there in a really long time. And so I booked that then Papa Mouselet was coming, we're staying in the family suite. Then M1 and MC came. What I will also... M1: I didn't even complain about the split stay beforehand because I was like, it is what it, like I knew that that just sort of was what it was. M2: But I was going to say, wonder, mean, the split stay was tough, but I wonder if we had had an adjoining room and there had been that extra room, if you would have felt like you had more space because you would have had more area to navigate with the baby. You might have even slept out in the living room area. Like, I wonder if it would have made a difference for you and made it more enjoyable. I still think I agree the transferring. Honestly, I'll say even kind of like with kids, like I feel like a split stay is great for like adults, but if, I don't know. M1: If you're mobile, if you've got your own little carry-on bag and like me and Melsa too all the time, we each have a carry-on bag and a personal item. bring like, yeah, three owner's lockers. We bring, but we bring like an extra bag or whatever, you know? And so if we're split staying, we just kind of like messily throw stuff back in and schlep it off and it's kind of like whatever. In general with kids, that process is going to be so much harder, so much more to pack up. I think it's just gonna make your trip less enjoyable. M2: And three owners lockers. M1: If you have to do it to save money, it's okay, but I wouldn't recommend M2: Then I sort of gave the example and then I promise you guys won't move on from resorts, but I'm going to Paris, then Disneyland Paris, then London. So I'm technically doing, and I'm sleeping on a plane for my red eye. So I'm technically doing three resorts. it's, I was like, I can't overload my suitcase because I'll never close it again. Like if I'm like, I'll organize it to perfection, I'll do at the end. I'm like, no, has to be, I just like, now that this is weighing on me, do you think that I can do it with just to carry on? Because when I was in New York City, M1: now. M2: No, I was bringing my bag around New York City and I said, ⁓ my God, if I had any bigger of a bag, I would lose my mind. M1: I wouldn't. Just to carry on the issue with just to carry on is packing and repacking it. M2: Right, if I just don't cram it shut. M1: Sure, if you cannot cram it shut, you can do just a carry on. Do I think you cannot cram it shut? No. Moving along, we're gonna now talk about the schedule for your trip and how we would set up a schedule. So for us, the thing that I got my mouth to do is already yawning and that is not a good sign. The thing that I think is kind of the standard is that you do a four day trip and you do one park per day. To me, that's kind of like the go-to standard. Of course, some people do longer. Sure. M2: Thank or like a five day trip and one resort day. M1: But does that to you, and this is a rhetorical question because I haven't actually thought of the answer. Do you think that that four parks, four days, four parks makes sense with a baby? M2: I'll kind of flip it around and say, what we did was we did a water park day, but then we did a full Magic Kingdom day, a combined Epcot Hollywood day, and then like, I guess a half day at Animal Kingdom, but like, you know, we could have spent the full day there. And I guess I'll ask you if you think that park hopping, because I think this will kind of answer this partially, if you think that park hopping with a baby is a good idea, because I know that you were worried about it after Magic Kingdom, we took that break and the baby really needed the break. Although it did go a lot better. Hollywood and Epcot to be honest, but M1: Yeah, I was worried about the Hollywood Epcot day the most. The day that we were park hopping and it wasn't clear if we were gonna have a break in between. We ultimately didn't have a break in between. It went better. That was one of the things that went better than I thought. Park hopping, like again, if you were taking perhaps the bus, you had to fold up your stroller. We took the Skyliner, right? We took the Skyliner actually. That was nice. That particular one was easy. It wasn't bad. However, I... don't know that I would recommend park hopping more because it's going to put you on a time crunch in both parks. And like, that's not something that works super well with the baby. M2: I was going to say, I think this happened most days, especially Magic Kingdom. I think that we were running three hours behind. And the reason that I say that we were running three hours behind is because we stayed at that park so much later than we ever would. mean, unless we're staying for fireworks, we're out of there like 8 p.m. Like we don't stay at the park super late ever. So I think that everything that we wanted to do would be like, oh, in the. blink of an eye, be like, it's 5 p.m. and it's like, we would be doing things that we wanted to be doing at like 1 p.m. I think I agree it would put a bit of a pressure on the day. Kingdom 100 % should be its own day. No question. I also sort of think the Animal Kingdom is a good park to bring a baby at, because it's just some shows, you can walk through like the exhibits. M1: Our animal kingdom day was actually, it was very nice. We stayed there longer than we expected because we were kind of finding so many things that made sense to do. M2: But Epcot and Hollywood, I don't know. I think those two almost, they almost worked on a park hopping day for us. ⁓ Like. M1: They did, we did almost nothing in Epcot. M2: I know, when I was watching our vlog or editing our vlog, was like, ⁓ we didn't do a thing. M1: Yeah, we like didn't actually do much. So I think the thing you need to remember is that with a baby, it has to be a slower paced trip. You just don't have a choice, especially if like you are going to be the one who's like feeding the baby for us. We would leave the baby a lot with Mama Mouselet or something to feed him. So at least we would we could go off and maybe do a ride. But if you're going to be she doesn't do it. More she doesn't do like 75 percent of rides. M2: because she doesn't do like 50 % of the rides. M1: So we would go do some rides she didn't want to do anyways, she would feed the baby, that was nice. But especially if you're going to be feeding the baby, just be mindful of the fact that you're doing things at such a slow pace that like having a half day at a park might make you feel like you're just missing so much that it's not really worth it. However, oh, go ahead. M2: I I was gonna say, think you're thinking about it now. Like I think you're right. Unless you have like all the different people and everyone kind of taking turns. If you, let's say you just did a full day at Epcot, that way if you sit in that baby care center for a blank amount of time where you have to go sit in Mexico, whatever, you have to go sit somewhere for a while, you're not gonna feel that much pressure because you know you have a full day there or you take that resort break. Yeah, I think I'm leaning now towards one park per day. M1: Yeah, I think one park per day and I think like, I think one park per day is okay. I don't necessarily think you need a full resort day. I think it would be nice, but I don't think you need a full resort day. But I think you just in general, and this will be like a theme throughout many things we talk about, you just need to like account for breaks. like you might be, you maybe will not be rope dropping this trip. You maybe will not be seeing fireworks this trip. You maybe will be taking a midday break every day. But I think doing just one part per day kind of gives you that flexibility that it's like, okay, it's okay if we get a slower start or have to leave early. M2: When are we talking about what time of year to go? Because I was going to say that if you're going in any in anywhere between May and September, you need a midday break no matter what. Like I was I was editing the vlog, so was reliving our trip in a lot of detail and I had to literally cut out so much of like the time that we were about to get on Dumbo when I was melting, dying in the absolute most. M1: I thought you were going to say melting down and I was going to say, yes, you were melting down. M2: I I was gonna say I was in the literal most awful mood ever and I said, know what? I'm going to tomorrow and I'm getting a cream cheese pretzel I was like losing my mind and then I left the park with dad cuz I was like I have to get out of here. I Needed a midday break. So it's not even a baby thing if it's if like in the summer you need one M1: You just need one. One other quick thing about the schedule is like, I was thinking about the water parks, especially with like cool kids summer. I was very unsure how it would go bringing the Micklet to the water park. Honestly, it was actually completely fine. Again, mama Mouselet does not do water slides. So she was like hanging with the baby a bunch. There always pretty much had to be someone back with the baby other than when we purposely were just taking him into like play in the pool. M2: I don't... Yeah, I don't... M1: But I wouldn't like go out of my way to go to a water park with a baby. M2: I would almost say I don't recommend a baby, a little baby, because I think I would say I don't recommend it because like mom missed the family raft ride, which I'm sad about. But then Mouselet C sat there for a while. Like someone was just sitting and someone was just sitting there. Like it was fun, but I think you can have the similar experience of the pool and like a splash pad area. Like, so. M1: He missed the lazy river. Yeah, someone always missed something. At the pro. I was worried that it would be bad. It wasn't bad at all. It was completely fine. It was just that someone was always missing it and there was really therefore no value to that person like being there. And like you said, I think you can get what you would get out of it just being at the pool at your resort. M2: Okay, last I guess thing there park hopper would you get a park hopper like just to have it if you're staying near Let's say the Grand Floridian to pop into Magic Kingdom at night. I wouldn't I'm anti park hopper most of the time M1: Yeah, I don't think I would not. You can always add a park- I always say this, you can always add a park hopper unless it's literally the last day of your trip. So if for some reason you're staying at a resort where ultimately that would be convenient and you find yourself wanting to do it, just go to the ticket window and add the park hopper on. I would not, I would not. M2: Agreed, especially with our advice, which is like one park per day. ⁓ OK, wait, let's talk about getting being at the park because I'm to tell the story, which I kind of told. And ⁓ when we were at Animal Kingdom, we didn't have any lightning lanes. We didn't purchase multi pass. We didn't purchase a single pass to do Flight of Passage. We did purchase lightning lanes for our Magic Kingdom Day and for our I'll call it our Hollywood Day because we only booked Hollywood lightning lanes. We didn't book anything at Epcot. And in fact, we couldn't have booked Epcot in advance just for reference, like with the way we did it. But we didn't book him at Animal Kingdom. We don't always recommend doing lightning lands at Animal Kingdom. M1: We actually typically are vehemently against lightning lanes at Animal Kingdom. M2: I've never heard that word pronounced before and I've never pronounced it in that way. I've always said in when I read it in a book, vehemently. How did you say it? M1: violently. M2: Is that how you say it? V- M1: I, yeah, I think so. gonna be really embarrassed if not, because I definitely say that word fairly frequently. M2: vehemently. Let's listen. M1: I can't hear it so you just report back. Great! Okay, perfect! M2: I can't hear. I can't hear. Well, we'll have to later, everybody. I'm sure everyone listening is like, how did you not know this? ⁓ Wow. I'm like turned, turned for a loop. Anyway, typically we don't, we vehemently recommend getting them at Animal Kingdom. ⁓ Me and Mouse Lit A on our last trip, in fact, did get them at Animal Kingdom. ⁓ yeah. We were park hopping and it made sense. We went to Tiana's. M1: and I sort of roasted you, but you only got them because you were park hopping later. M2: We walk into the park. We got a slow start. You're not going to be able to rope drop people deal with it. I had to learn. OK, you're just it's going to be tough to make it. ⁓ We walk into the park. Everyone's hungry dad because he didn't eat beforehand. ⁓ The Safari line is already 40 minutes. We're going over to Everest, but then we're trying to do Safari and I was like. This is ridiculous that we're sitting here trying to save a buck, save 80 bucks, whatever it is. OK, I understand that's not nothing. but like we're gonna have a bad day and do nothing because we don't wanna spend $80 on our trip that we're spending thousands of dollars on to be in Disney. So I sat there, I bought it day of, I sat there modifying, I just sit there and screw around modifying every single one. M1: because we didn't buy them in advance and the day of obviously there weren't good times available. M2: I think we didn't realize that. I mean, I think we knew, like, well, we could have rope dropped. You were just tired. It wasn't even related to the baby. You just woke up at 5 30 and said, I don't want to wake up right now. It wasn't even baby related, but, um, in general, just get like, this is a trip to get the lightning lanes. When we went to Hollywood studios and we had three rides booked, said, we're just going to go and we're going to do these three rides and yeah, get them for every park. M1: I said no, I said I don't want to wake up. It was a- It gives you, I would get lightning lanes for literally every single park, even Epcot. Yep. And it just gives you the freedom to not be being like, okay, I have to rope drop and run to a million miles in the morning and then like, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba, or you have to wait, you know, 50 minutes in a line, but you don't want to do with a baby either. Lightning lanes. M2: Even Epcot. Figment, spaceship Earth, living with the land. Done. M1: give you the freedom. And the other huge mistake that we made is because we didn't book our lightning lanes on time, which we got roasted about. ⁓ All of our times at Magic Kingdom were so late in the day that like we had like three, four hours in Magic Kingdom where we were just like dinking around being like. M2: But we had a multiple experience for poo and we didn't use it. I don't know what Happened I think what happened is that like everything we tried to go. Yes. We had this weird time of day We had nothing's really let's do a little mermaid. Oh, no, got longer. Let's walk over to haunted mansion like we were just like We're just going around the park. It was we should have done like country bears M1: I'm livid, I'm livid that we did, I don't know what, we were just like panicking. We were panicking, but book. We should have. We should have used that multi experience, but book your lightning lanes when you're supposed to book them, get them for the morning and then just like use that as your way to kind of have a guide for what your day is going to be. You can always modify day of if you need to, but use that as a way to get yourself on rides so there's something to do and you're not stressing about long lines, the heat, etc. I think lightning lanes of the baby are so, so, so worth it. M2: At the very least, I was going to say at Magic Kingdom, you could probably do like six things minimum, because you book your first three immediately after you use your first one. you can for sure book Dumbo. I bet you'd be able to book Pooh. You can even like some of like the shows like just to pop in there and bypass the line. I think so worth it. So, so, so worth it. M1: ⁓ Something I wanna jump to that I have further down in our notes, but is quickly talking about ride or swap and kind of how it works and why we never actually ended up using it. So the way ride or swap works is that one person or whoever, one person waits out with the baby and everyone else who's gonna go on the ride goes on. This can be the normal standby queue or the lightning lane and they do it. When they get off, the person who waited with the baby and one other guest so that that person doesn't have to ride alone. It can be anyone get to go through the lightning lane. Sounds really nice. Honestly, the issue is that most most not all most lightning lanes still kind of take time like pre shows or you know, eventually you merge together. We tried to do this mainly on Tiana's. ⁓ M2: Yeah, we also tried to do it on Peter Pan, but the baby wasn't with us because he was sleeping and so we were denied from it. You have to have the baby with you visible. M1: Visible. Yes, and you have to go up and set it up before anyone gets in line You have to go to the cast member and set it up like on a magic band or a ticket And so the ride that we actually did set it up on was Tiana's mouse so to wait it outside and she was gonna go after And I texted her while we were in yeah, but I texted her while we were in landing lane and I said slow pass ⁓ my god, it was taking so long In but you know by so long, obviously it wasn't that long M2: I say 20 minutes. M1: Yeah, but for a lightning lane it was like 20 minutes. So by the time that we got off the ride, that was probably, well, like a full 30 minute thing. And then Mouselette 2 would have gone and taken 30 minutes. So then we would have spent one hour doing Tiana's Bayou Adventure. And if that had been a priority, it would have been worth it. But for us, it was like, when my family went on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, I could have set up rider swap. And I said, it's fine. I don't need to do it. M2: We like had it on all. Yeah. Mouse. Let's see. Like sat out of stuff. It was when I was sitting out of town, we did set it up. So the reason that I said, I'm going to sit out of Tiana's cause actually do that's one of my favorite rides was because I said, I know that if mouse let's see or mouse of one or mama mouse, let's sit out. When we all get off, they'll say, it's fine. Let's just go. And I said, I'd the only one who would actually say, I do want to ride this. That being said, I did just write it like six weeks ago. I had just been on it and it took so long. And I was like, it just didn't make sense. for a family who's coming on a trip who doesn't get to do stuff, especially I think not every family, not every situation, but I do think that a lot of times the mom is the one who would get the short end of the stick. Not always, but I feel like that would happen sometimes. Like not for you and mouse, let's see. ⁓ But I think they should, you should use it. And I think, guess what? You can, when you're with the baby, you can go do something, walk around, make you, in that 30 minutes, I thought about going and see country bear jamboree. You can go do something and then do a swap and maybe you swap those two, like whatever it is, you can make it work. I said, if we did guardians and it was just me, you and mouse, let's see, I think we would have done it because we all love guardians so much. M1: Yeah, I think just plan for it and know that like, it's, you know, I guess in an ideal world in my head, the person who is then switching on would literally like walk in the exit and like walk on the ride vehicle. That's not the case. You're waiting in the Lightning Lane line. So just like plan for it, but don't, use it. It's an amazing benefit. Like you should use it. Just know again, it's a slower day. And that's one of the things that isn't like the speediest, you know, it's not the speediest. M2: It's funny that you say that though, because they actually, Disney was testing a process where everyone gets to go into the queue and then swaps like right by the exit. I think on like Space Mountain or something. Yeah. M1: ⁓ interesting. I kind of like that. OK, the next thing we want to talk about is some of our top rides and attractions in each park that we think you should do. Magic Kingdom is where we're going to start. And to me, this is kind of the easiest one, because like Magic Kingdom obviously has the most for kids. Like all the dark rides are going to be really good. M2: Okay, but what I will say with a little baby, with like a tiny baby, what's the best? Like I thought the people mover was great. With a three month old baby, I think that one would be great. I think that Poo would have been, he loved people mover. I think Poo would have been fun. M1: He loved People Mooper. Why didn't we do poo? Like, like giant boo to us for never doing poo. M2: I like, no, I don't know. I think that the Little Mermaid ride actually would have been fun. I don't think he would have seen anything on, I mean, he doesn't see much of anything anyway, but especially wouldn't see anything on Peter Pan. Cause you're so high up and like a little, ⁓ like Pirates is fun, but like the drop, you guys were a little nervous. M1: Yeah. Yeah, he wouldn't go in the carrier. He was like just didn't wasn't feeling it. So Mouseless, he was like gripping him. He was fine. But I wouldn't say it's not like like on people mover. I felt like his eyes were big and he was like really like ooh pirates. There's not as much like bright stuff to see. He wasn't like obsessed with it. Yeah. Yeah. He would have been like no he didn't go on that. was asleep. ⁓ But yeah, Magic Kingdom is more more obvious to me. M2: Yeah. Same with the Haunted Mansion probably. Actually, did he even go on that? ⁓ I was gonna say, you might think that Dumbo would be good. He hated it. M1: Guys, Dumbo, he hated because Dumbo is in the blinding sun and he's like so hot. This is when Mouselotoo was having her meltdown. She wouldn't even go on when I took the mikul on because we'd just gone on it. She wouldn't go back on. He screamed the literal entire time because he doesn't like being in the direct sun. You know, fair. So think about that. Like the direct sun was not a good run. How do you think he would have felt in the carousel? We didn't bring him on. M2: I was also suffering. I was suffering. Yeah. M1: ⁓ Sorry, Me Mouselet 2 and Mouselet C went on, but the Micklet did not. M2: I mean, you would have had to sit in one of those little seats. I don't think he would have thought about anything of the carousel. I think he would have hated the music. M1: Yeah. Yeah. So. M2: All right, let's get to Epcot, top riots. I would say living with the land for sure. I would say figment almost definitely. M1: Me too. Figment. Spaceship Earth, like he would be completely fine on. I don't think he's gonna be loving. It's not like a bright ride. M2: Can is right at two we have a height requirement. M1: I think it must because it has a lot. Well, I don't know. M2: things we never have to think about because we've never been to Disney with a kid. M1: Does Frozen, I bet Frozen doesn't have a height requirement because Pirates doesn't. Okay, Massachusetts. I feel like Ratatouille does, Frozen doesn't. Okay, so I bet Frozen doesn't. And then does Ratatouille? I think probably yes. ⁓ wow. Okay, I will say bringing him on Ratatouille would make me look, you're kind of like. M2: Frism is a little more, accidentally, sorry, I accidentally just Googled height requirement, Maelstrom, but Maelstrom did not have a height requirement, so. Rata 2-8 is not either. Nope. Infants can go on it. He was on Runaway Railway. No, he wasn't. M1: Nope, he wasn't. I would have brought him on that though. Yeah, Frozen would have been fine. M2: I would say the Mexican boat ride maybe. I would be a little nervous I'm frozen. M1: Yeah. Okay. Hollywood. I mean, there's not much. There is not much. Aliens, furling saucers, making minis. Yeah, again. I don't think there's a requirement on that. Toaster. And I said to Mouselessy, said, did he like it? And he said his head was like in the gun. He couldn't see anything. His head was just like in the thing like that. M2: Mickey Minis? He can't go on Aliens or Exhausters. There is a height requirement on that. Toy Story Mania. That was funny because he literally sat in front of Mels. Let's see, like with the lap bar over both of them. Aliens well and substance has a 32 inch height requirement. That's a lap bar. Think about you. can't go in the speedway. M1: Wow, I'm shocked. That's yeah, he can't. OK, so Hollywood doesn't have much. It does have shows, but like something we'll talk about in a second is, well, things to avoid and like, you know, be considerate things that are loud. So when we all went to the villain show, I think you probably would have liked looking at that. But he was like asleep and I was like, that show is going to be too loud. Like, it just doesn't make sense to bring him in that one. M2: Okay, Hollywood Mickey minis runaway railway, Mouselet A hates riding that although she likes to ride because she says the goofy is so loud and me and mama Mouselet and Mouselet C and papa Mouselet were all in the front and goofy was blaring. I'm like, ⁓ my God, goofy, goof. M1: I did get the Micklissom headphones, not that play music or anything, just like sound ones. He wore them during the Starlight Parade, during when the fireworks were going off at Magic Kingdom. We weren't like watching them, but they were happening. And then at Festival of the Lion King. And honestly, he seemed completely unbothered by the sound. So I do recommend that. ⁓ M2: Yeah, he's I mean, about mouse, he said he didn't want the baby getting used to wearing headphones. I can't remember where that was, though. M1: ⁓ I don't remember either. I think it was at Chef Mickey. M2: He was generally, yeah, generally pretty good with the sound, though, I feel like. M1: And then Animal Kingdom is actually a really good one. We did take him on the safari. He did not fall into the crocodile pit. Everybody. ⁓ M2: Well, there's not a lot of rides that you can take to take it on. Navi River Journey, we wanted to bring him on, but we couldn't modify our lightning lane. But all of the trails and stuff, it's just I don't know if it's special for the baby as much, but it's just easy. It's so easy to have a baby just like meandering. M1: No, but there's just like you're like with your stroller just like continuing to push your stroller there's no you're just walking it was very nice and also like we took him to the bird show which is just such a low-stake show that was actually where we had to I had to leave the show with him to go M2: That was the only time that he had an issue with his diaper while I was holding him. And I said, what's going on? M1: Yep. But like we just walked out of the show. It's like such a low stakes, like chill vibe. It like didn't matter at all. It was very nice. That park felt very approachable with a baby to me. M2: Yeah, agreed. ⁓ Okay, any other shows that we think like a big yes, we can do nighttime. Like I would say Phantasmac is a definite no. Phantasmac is so loud and so chaotic. I was crucified for saying I like to leave Phantasmac early. Okay, everybody, as you should know, if I could sit in the overflow seating every time I would. ⁓ And I do leave it early. And I stand by that. M1: I would never. She does. Yeah, I think like I would have loved to watch the fireworks with him. We watched the fireworks from our balcony and that was like very nice and he liked seeing those. But I think just the crowds of the fireworks make me feel stressed. Like the thought of doing that with the stroller. Starlight, I loved watching with him. He like that was so fun and such a good one. I think like. M2: with a stroller, with a stroller. M1: Beauty and the Beast is another one that feels very approachable to me, like easy to sit in the back and just like leave if there's an issue. It's like an open-air theater. We didn't do like, like... M2: Yeah. He like, Festival of Lion King, was easy, he slept, he didn't care. I think Finding Nemo, would have been fine and dark, cool. Last floor. M1: Yeah, like I think country bears felt her magic. Laugh-flur, he was fine. Yeah. But I wouldn't say he like loved. M2: I think it's generally easier to pop in. mean, I don't think how much he's, maybe that brings it to a good point is like, you have a three month old baby, at the end of the day, they are not gonna be that like interactive with a lot of things because it's a three month old baby. And so it is more for like the parents and just so you can take the trip that you wanna take. Like you shouldn't not take a trip because you have a baby. It's so doable with a baby. M1: Yeah, Disney is built for people to bring kids like it's so doable, especially in a lot of people told me this. They were like, it's easier to travel with a little baby than it is with like a one and a half year old who like now is walking and wants to walk by themselves and has an opinion on like, I do want to do this. I don't want to do that. It's throwing a tantrum. It was nice being there with a baby. M2: I agree. think like even with like with me being there, the auntie and mom and dad, like I think it was it was fun. It was different. There were some things that did not go as well. There were some things that did go super well. But I guess before we get into those, I think one of our kind of last bigger things is meeting characters. There were a couple of times that I like we saw Chip and Dale outside, way outside of Animal Kingdom. Interesting. And I was like, ⁓ how fun. M1: ⁓ yeah, that was. M2: but he was sleeping. So it's like timing the characters. The only way he really met characters was at Chef Mickey. That's kind of the character meet and greets that we did. M1: Yeah, it was. I wanted to do Chef Mickey's, well, our family loves Chef Mickey, but I wanted to do Chef Mickey for that. And I said, even if he's asleep, I will put him in the picture asleep. I'll put the, like, I don't care. Like I'll have Mickey lean down. You know, it doesn't really matter. I just like want some sort of picture. And that way I know like we're gonna be meeting those characters. We don't need to be waiting in line. I really liked that. Chef Mickey in particular happened to be really chaotic for us, but like. M2: But it was fine with the baby. The baby didn't add any layer to that. think us dressing as chefs that match the characters added a layer to that. They did all come at once. think so character dining say it was someone has to sit there. think I'll say I think a buffet is a little bit harder because if you're holding the baby, someone has to kind of get you food or you swap holding the baby. It was nicer just to have food. M1: Yeah. of a face tough. So what would you recommend? I'm trying to think. Like, Topalinos Terris is a much calmer character dining to me, and they bring food. I think that that could be nice. Like, for breakfast. M2: That's a good one. Yeah, I would say I don't recommend 1900 Park Fair. 1900 Park Fair is very, very chaotic at all times. I would say that one's a definite no. mean, Chef Mickey has a lot of space and a lot of kids. A lot of people recommend Crystal Palace, another one I find very, very chaotic. yeah, I Tusker House, that's a buffet. Cinderella's World Table, I would say no. Yeah, think Topolino's is... M1: No, that's chaotic. Chaotic. And again a buffet. Buffet. Topolino's breakfast might be my... M2: is a good one. think Crystal Palace would be fun with those characters. Chef Mickey was fine, but Mouse, let's see, like you were getting a bunch of his food for him and like that's part of the buffet vibe is that you want to go up yourself. M1: It was fine. Yeah, really quickly for like non-park moments, we talked about this with the resort, but with resort breaks, like consider how your baby naps and what they need. For me, I knew he naps anywhere right now. It doesn't matter. So like I didn't need to plan resort breaks around when he's napping, but like take that into consideration. Consider what you want to do about bedtime. Do you care? Do they need to be at the back of the resort, et cetera? And then my tips are request the crib or the pack and play. And if you are like me and you need to sanitize bottles, you can request a microwave to like sanitize them in. It's not guaranteed, but I didn't have problems getting one. Moving into some generic tips, yes. M2: Other things. Yeah, I was going to say, talk about your security process. M1: Okay, people were like hyping me up, freaking me out that security was going to be absolutely horrible. I did not think it was. It was like fine. So one of our friends, her name is Jessica, well hello, Magic. She suggested that we get one of those giant IKEA bags and keep it at the bottom of the stroller. And that was so convenient because I would just throw everything loose in the stroller into that bag and send it through security with someone else. And then I would just bring the stroller myself and they would check the stroller. but there wasn't that much left in or on the stroller, so it didn't really take very long. And then I would just go around and go through the metal detector. I found security to be not bad. It was huge. It was literally huge, but it was like a huge success and helpful thing. ⁓ In general, M2: I think the bag was a huge, yeah. And then other thing about your stroller though, do you think, so on your stroller you had two fans, Ryobi fans, which we're actually, you're gonna talk about soon I think, but one pointing to baby, one pointing at you or mouse, see whoever's pushing it. And then you had a bunch of other stuff. And did you feel like you had anything extra? I mean, you didn't use the rain cover because you didn't have to, but I you're glad you had it. M1: Yeah, I'm glad I had it. had to have it. The only thing we didn't use is I had this little, I have an airplane seat for the baby that I had brought. I didn't even bring it every day, but I brought in case we needed it for him to sit in with us at a restaurant, because he can't sit in the high chair yet. We ended up being able to bring the stroller in to like every restaurant. So we had a place to rest him because he was asleep. Yeah, because he was asleep. There was only one time at Grand Floridian Cafe that he was not asleep and we didn't bring the stroller in. But other, yeah. M2: because he was sleeping every time we went into a restaurant. Yeah. And I held him that whole meal and Mousel- and Mousel- one cut my food for me. M1: I did. But other than that, everyone was giving me like so much grief about the amount on my stuff. Everyone. Some people. M2: Not everyone, like several, like three people. M1: a few people about how much I had. like, frankly, to have a three month old there, you just need to have a lot of stuff. And like, I have no regrets about the amount of stuff I had. I would I use everything other than that one thing I mentioned, and the rain cover because it didn't rain. But I would rather be over prepared and like have the stuff that I needed just in case, then like not have a thing that I needed. M2: And it didn't really like the stroller was not heavy to push. Like it didn't really impact in any way. Security was generally easy. Like I feel like it was just about being organized and you guys were so. M1: No. It was, yeah. Yeah. If it's unorganized, it would be a mess, but everything was organized in its own little bag or pouch, so it was fine. ⁓ Other little tips for the heat. I had the Ryobi fans, which were amazing. We had a cooling mat. We had a UV sunshade, which was amazing because you can't really drape a blanket over it. It gets too hot. This was like mesh. I'll link it. UV blankets. Going with extra people, AKA grandparents, auntie. was so helpful. If you're going on a trip and it's just like you and your partner and your baby, you're gonna move slow. I mean, we moved slow when we had help for people to just kind of take the baby and sit to the side. So if it's just you, your partner and the baby, you're really gonna be moving slow, which is fine. But like, it's really nice to have the extra help of other people to kind of like take turns and stuff like that. ⁓ The last thing I wanna talk about in this section, well, two things. One, someone told me before I went, they said have one must do per day. and like plan around that and that was really good advice. Like for example, the day we did Chef Mickey, I was like, I just wanted him to go to Chef Mickey. And it'd be nice if he was awake at some point at Chef Mickey. And we were able to make that happen and like other things. M2: And he had a really special little meet and greet with Donald. Donald came up and revisited and sat there and like held his hands. It was so cute. Actually, I want to post that video because it was so, so, so cute. M1: Donald. He like loved it. was so cute. But yeah, like, you know, like Mouseletu said, we saw Chip and Dale outside Animal Kingdom. They had such a short line, but he was asleep. And like, I wanted him to go on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, but he was asleep. So you just need to know that like, try and pick one thing and you can... M2: I wanted him to see the gorillas on Kilimanjaro Safari and had they been out, I would have woken him up. But they were not. M1: and I would not have allowed that. They were not there. But yeah, like try and plan one must do per day and then other things just kind of go with it. The last thing, baby care centers. Everyone hyped these up. Did you see any of them? M2: I've been in the Magic Kingdom one, but that's it. M1: Everyone hyped them up that these were going to be my saving grace. I was going to be obsessed and I'm just going to be honest. I wasn't obsessed. I was not obsessed. Yes, it was a very nice place to change him. they have their huge changing tables with like the people are cleaning them. It's like it's way easier to just like dump your stuff and change them. We did change him in the Magic Kingdom on a bunch. But and like Mama Mouselet sat in there with him at one point. M2: You liked changing him in the Magic Kingdom one. M1: Mouselet C fed him in the Epcot one at one point. I changed him in the Hollywood one. The Hollywood one has like one leather love seat and the vending machine and then a room with diaper changing tables. But like people sort of hyped it up as a place that you're going to get to go sit and relax. ⁓ No, even the Magic Kingdom one had more places to sit, but like you're sitting in basically like a dining room table chair. It's not like you're in like a comfy chair. M2: You hated the Hollywood one, didn't you? Well, Mama Mouse told told the story. So when she was in the Magic Kingdom one, there are chairs. So she was sitting, you sitting in a chair feeding the baby, which like obviously you're holding the baby, you're holding the bottle. It's so much easier to be sitting. There is a family who is the mom was sitting and she had all of her stuff piled on another chair and another mom came in with the baby and she needed to I think she was breastfeeding. I'm not totally sure. That's what Mama Mouse was at. And she didn't have anywhere to sit because that other family wouldn't move theirself off the chair and like they clocked her and they just like didn't want to move it seemingly so mama mouse ended up getting up but like it seemed like they were close to full every time. M1: It was the Magic Kingdom one was so chaotic. had a little TV and little stools that kids could sit on and watch, which is nice, but it's very busy. They have high chairs so that you can go in there and like feed them. It's nice, but they're very, very small. is, I mean, the Hollywood Studios one had absolutely nothing in it. Like it was, it was like a a little tiny closet, basically. It's just, so my advice is think about other places that you might. be able to sit and relax with the baby. For example, at one point we had breakfast in Satuli Canteen and then mom and I also kind of hung out with the baby in Satuli Canteen. I hung out with the baby outside of ABC commissary in like a quiet little corner. It's just like the baby care centers aren't really going to be a place to necessarily go like super chill. M2: You know what's funny though is that I said, I said, gosh, when we're at Magic, I said, don't you wish like the perfect thing to be doing right now would be to take the baby either on the riverboat or Tom Sores Island. And you said, I would rather do anything else than take my baby on Tom Sores Island. M1: because like, it's not stroller friendly. M2: Okay, but the riverboat you poo poo that. M1: Well, the riverboat would have been okay. All right, final thoughts from our trip. We have a few questions that actually Melside posed to us. Her first question was, what went well that we didn't think would go well? M2: ⁓ okay. I think in general, I think in general, like in mama mouse, it might feel different because she had the baby a lot, although she doesn't do that many rides. But I felt like we were pretty effectively able to rotate who was holding the baby, who was feeding the baby. And that all went a little bit smoother that like, it didn't feel like someone was like missing from the group of us the majority of the time, even at Epcot, when Mouselet C went. M1: Do you have one? M2: to you know feed the baby and like we were all able to get his food for him so we didn't have to wait in the festival lines and we all met like i think overall that was a bit of a surprise i didn't know how it would go M1: I I think that was efficient. had randomly this vision in my head of like all six of us sitting in the area outside of the Cheshire Cat Cafe. Do know what I'm talking about? Those little tables to the side and like the Miklis sitting on the table being fed and all of us just like waiting. I don't know why that like vision was in my mind specifically. M2: I do know those tables. I wouldn't have minded that. All things considered, I wouldn't have minded that that much, I feel like. M1: No, it would have been fine, but that really didn't happen. I felt like things were able to flow very freely. The other thing that I think I was worried about is a lot of people told me, and I'm sure this does happen to some babies, that being on a plane for the first time and being so hot in such a sunny, hot place that he's never experienced before with all the stimulation, he was going to be a different baby and he wasn't gonna want... anybody holding him other than me and Mouselet Sien. He was gonna be really fussy and like out of his element. We didn't experience that at all. M2: He loved when his aunt held him. He wanted his aunt to hold him. He cooed and screamed every time I came over. He was so happy. M1: He okay, but like he other Other people were holding him. He was happy He was chill like he really didn't seem out of his element or bothered in any way Like he was just kind of like going with it. I'm sure it does M2: I bet it does happen to see he's pretty chill in general, although he had been screaming for like 50 % of this podcast. You probably can't hear it guys because the microphones are picking up, but I could hear it. The other thing I would say like maybe that's his TMI, but a lot of people said that he would have blowouts in his diaper. Was it the heat? M1: Yeah They were like something about the Florida Heat makes you have way, way more blowouts. He didn't have one blowout. M2: Which I'm sure has happened to their babies a ton. But he didn't do that. didn't. Because the only time, yeah, he had an issue was when he peed through his diaper and I was holding him. M1: Of course, he didn't have one. No. Yeah, because I think, yeah, like he was dehydrated and peeing a lot. Okay, what didn't go as well as we thought? Do you have one? Go ahead. M2: I do. Here's what I'll say. There's two different types of people and it's okay for, know, whoever is whoever. I'm always early. I'm always early in everything. You and Mouselet C are always late. Mouselet C especially is always very, late. You're late as well. Add a baby to the mix. You guys are never on time on our normal trips. You were later than like constantly so, so, so late. M1: I didn't think that we'd be on time, that wasn't a what would go well for me, but... M2: Right, right, right, but I guess like what I would say is like the animal kingdom day. I was tired when I woke up. M1: Well, I did text you guys inside early and I said, we're not making a rope job. Feel free to go without us. But yes, I mean. M2: And trust me, we wanted to. M1: You should have. I'm trying to think what didn't go as well as I thought. I honestly don't even. M2: I mean, I think, and I don't know if it's, I guess it's sort of because of the baby, but like the Magic Kingdom day, there was a time, because we've had one, in all of our time going to Disney, most of our days are good. I think I can think of two, I'm getting out of little tangent here, but I can think of two days that weren't too good. Yep. Yep. This Magic Kingdom day, sort of that midday time, I didn't anticipate that. M1: Hollywood Studios Day and an Epcot Day. M2: It wasn't necessarily because of the baby, but the baby was in the baby care center and it was hot. And maybe we would have just bopped into a couple of things. Like maybe we would just popped it onto the speedway and then to fill our magic and stuff. But because the baby was in there, we were all just kind of like, what do we do? That I didn't that I didn't expect. I don't even but I don't know how I would necessarily write that wrong. M1: That was weird. No, I mean our lightning lanes being late in the day were a big factor in that that like was so annoying. But yeah, I did not anticipate that weird because Magic Kingdom is the park also that has the most to do with the baby. It's just a lot of stuff was down and the wait times were really, really long and it was really hot. ⁓ M2: I have one more, which is I didn't anticipate that we would be waiting so long at almost every restaurant. And yes, he was kind of sleeping around a lot of meal time. So many times we did want to bring in the stroller and you have to have a spot with stroller seating. And we put the baby on the reservation, you're supposed to. So was like a party of six. So they kind of knew that. I don't know if that's why it was longer, but I think them trying to accommodate made that longer. M1: ⁓ yeah. I think so too, and I did not know that. waited, the longest we waited was over 30 minutes for Sebastian's Bistro. I have heard that that restaurant is slow in general, but I mean, even prime time, probably 25 minutes. Yeah, I would say I didn't anticipate that. The other thing I think like, I just didn't really think about so much is that, yeah, like he just sleeps sometimes. And so then it's like, well, you know, he could go on McKinney's or a railway, but he's asleep right now. So like, this is the time that we're going on it. He's not gonna get to go on. M2: Prime time was long too though, yeah. M1: Like that type of thing, same with like Haunted Mansion. That type of thing I like hadn't really fully thought through. So it's not that it really didn't go well. It just wasn't exactly what I anticipated, I guess. M2: Yeah, I'm all in all, though, like I feel like I'm kind of like looking for things that didn't go well. I mean, it went really well, and it's definitely a lot of it is credits like my own Papa Mouse up for helping and stuff and me. But if you want to say that. You're insane, but I do think that that really helped. And overall, it wasn't that different from the trips we take. The last thing I'll kind of say, and then we need to get into the special segment. OK. M1: Me too. What? M2: The last thing I'll say, you can have any closing thoughts as well. But the last thing that, now I forgot what I was gonna say as I started thinking about what I was gonna say for the special segment. M1: I'll say my closing thoughts while you think about it. I think that as someone who loves going to Disney, I've seen videos on social media that are like, people ask me, why do I bring my baby? And it's because I've never brought the same baby twice. And they show their baby, you know, like three months old, nine months old, a year and a half or whatever. And to me, getting to bring him at three months old was so special because I can't wait to see how his experience with the park. changes as he gets older. I think for me waiting until he was older would have felt like a mistake. Like I was waiting just because I was scared or something like that or like waiting for some, I don't know, some like for him to have some like level of recognition. M2: It's like, okay. Yeah, at this point, he'll be able to like, I don't even know, like, he'll have seen Cinderella and would recognize her in Cinderella's royal table. We'll recreate the moment of Mouse at three get like. M1: Know this, yeah, like recognize this. Yeah, I think waiting for that would have felt just for it just wouldn't have felt right. And I am so happy that I brought him when I did and that we like ripped off the bandaid. We've experienced it now. It was it was such a special trip. It was not like we said, we were really looking for things that didn't go as well as we thought. If anything, more things went better than we thought might not go as well. I would recommend I would recommend taking the trip like all of your memories with. your child at Disney until they're like five are only for you. You know, like your kid, your three year old isn't going to remember it either. So unless you're really going to wait until your kid is like truly older and will have memories, I think go with them when they're a baby. M2: But I was going to say, I remembered my point from before, which ties actually into what you were saying. I think that's true. But if you are a family that takes a trip once every four or five years, then no. Then like this is not, I mean, if you have three kids and like you're going to have a baby for a long time, sure, you're going to have a great time still. But if you're, if you have a right now, like a two year old at a three month old and you're like, is this the time? No, I would say it's probably not the time. if you're only going once over the next five years and maybe waiting is a little bit better. Cause the other thing I was going to say that I think benefited us is the fact that we do go a lot. We know a lot about Disney. And so when we went to Epcot, we did nothing. did nothing. We ate and we did like a ride. was like, okay. That's okay. Cause we know we'll be back soon and doing this, you know, I think. M1: Yeah, others might be more bothered by not being able to get as much done. I think... M2: Yeah, but I think the lightning leans will help with that and like yeah, just the planning of the day and stuff. Yeah M1: one park per day. But if you're like a family that goes on a trip every year or every other year and you're worried that maybe you need to skip because of a baby, I would say, I mean, if you have like a literal newborn, like no, but if you have like a baby, I don't think you need to skip. I think you should do it. And I think you're gonna love getting to watch it, watch, Disney through your baby's eyes and get to see that grow over time. Okay, that was a lot. I hope that you now feel like you can plan your perfect trip with a baby. We are going to do a fun special segment today. We're gonna do a little mouse slits lore for our special segment. M2: And this mouse let's lore is that we weirdly did Disney kind of differently than a lot of people who are our age who went as kids. We started going in the late nineties, but really we're like early two thousands Disney kind of babies, which like the time we went, even though we went in the nineties a little bit. And I look at people and I'm going to say Kate Killebrew ⁓ who we followed for a very long time. I look at Kate Killebrew, we're about the same age and we have a similar kind of experience going to the parks. And I'm like, ⁓ my God. So many of the things that she did, we never even considered. And so me and Mouselet1 put together, okay, totally disagree with the bullet you just typed, but we put together a bulleted list of some of the weird things that we've never done. We never did Spaceship Earth because mom, mom and papa Mouselet told us that the dome on the inside of living with the land was Spaceship Earth. They said. M1: We've talked about this one so many times. This is because... And we never referred to Spaceship Earth as Spaceship Earth. We called it the Epcot ball because we didn't know that Spaceship Earth was even a thing that existed because we thought, well, we did. It was called Living with the Land. There was a special ride called Living with the Land. M2: We didn't know there was a ride in there. And I remember asking, said, said, gosh, how do we get from here? I said, we must go under, down, then we pop up at the top of the ball and they were like, yup. M1: They were like, yeah, I guess so. M2: He said, yep, we're at the top of the ball. Hello? M1: Also, how did like when you walk into Epcot, the queue for Spaceship Earth is literally like, I don't even what did we see? M2: The first time I ever remember writing it was I think like the trip of the G's. Like it took us a very long time. We didn't know it was there. One would ask, did you not have a map? Okay, we never wrote Figment. We never wrote Wonders of Life or went in Wonders of Life. M1: We never, we never, our family, in general I would say, our family just like sort of loves like tradition, I guess, like routine, but not even so much routine, more like tradition, more like, ⁓ my gosh, we always rope drop test track. That's what we always did as kids. And like, we just did the park in a certain way, and therefore, figment wasn't on the list. In my head, we didn't do figment because Papa Mouse thought figment was annoying. M2: Yeah. Yeah. M1: But I don't know if that's actually true. M2: Yeah, in my head that's... I don't know if that's true. I mean, yeah, I know that your friend loved Figment and I was like, what? Huh? I like didn't... In like 2016, I didn't know what Figment was. Like I swear. M1: Me neither. Nope. And Wonders of Life, God knows why we never went in there. I don't think there was any rhyme or reason behind it. We just like... M2: I don't think they knew it existed. Did they look at a map and they just said, what's that? But then, well, I guess I shouldn't get into some of the weird things that we did because we're to get into that minute. A couple of other things. People mover. We didn't do that because Papa Mouse hated it. Now he loves it. M1: He said it. But back in the day, he was like, ⁓ lame, boring. Again, my same friend who loved Figment loved the people mover. It was like her favorite ride. And I was like, what's that? Never, never done that. Never seen that. M2: Yeah, yeah, I was like, I would never ride that. Frontierland shooting arcade. I mean, who did? M1: Do other people, did other people do that? Massey doesn't think so. I'm like, someone must have. We never did that. M2: I did it. did it. Oh, I did it in 2018. 2018. 2018. Laura, where's my... M1: You M2: Me and Mouselet3 did it a lot in 2018. M1: Okay, I've talked about this one many times, I think, but I feel like so many people our age, basically everybody that went to Disney has a huge connection to the show, the firework show, Wishes. Mouselet 2 and I have a connection to Happily Ever After because Happily Ever After started like right when we started the Mouselets and it was, and we started our photography era, if you know, you know, with Happily Ever After. But Wishes, we don't really have a connection to because this is how we would watch Wishes. We would stand right at the train station. M2: And we started our photography era. M1: a few fireworks would go off. They'd start star light, star bright. That song would finish, you know, for about 30 seconds then. Probably also would say, okay, let's go, let's go, let's go. We need to get out. You can watch fireworks on the monorail. Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run. We're running out of the park. We're sprinting up to the monorail. We're trying to look out the windows at the fireworks. So we never heard more than the first like 15 seconds of the song. I don't know the show wishes at all. M2: The little girl would sing. I stand by dad's choice on that. and Mouselette have said that our future children won't even know, they'll say, special fireworks show. You can only watch it from this resort. They won't know that it happens in the parks because I would never be in the parks attempting to watch that show and then braving the crowds. Maybe it's like a special treat once in a while. Like that one time that mom and dad woke us up to watch a commercial for the Winnie the Pooh movie when we were kids that they saw and they were so excited about, just like that. M1: I don't remember that, that didn't stick with me. M2: ⁓ that stuck with me. OK, downtown Disney. This is we have one that something we always did, which is Disney Quest. We'll get to in a minute. But ⁓ mom and Papa Mouser did Pleasure Island. We didn't step foot downtown Disney, though, for us. Never. I couldn't even tell you really what it looked like. Yeah. M1: We were, we like turned our noses up at it. We were like, downtown Disney, blech, no. I didn't know that the boardwalk area existed until like 2018. I said, oh my God, this is actually so nice. I didn't know like the international gateway entrance to Epcot existed. Like that entire, the same friend, the same friend. M2: Same. Until we stayed there and I said, ⁓ wait. our friends always stayed at the beach club, the same friend who worked with me and people over, they would talk about it. And I was like, I thought they were confused. You know what? I didn't know that there were boats to the monorail resorts until like 2018. Literally, literally. So you're totally wrong. M1: Me too. Me neither. Nope. Yeah, had no idea. Okay, I wrote this note. I wrote this note. In Magic Kingdom, obviously I was in Magic Kingdom during this time, but I could not tell you what the Rose Garden looked like. Like my brain was, for people who don't know is the, what like the area around where the hub is like used to be before, yes. M2: No, no, no, you're no, was this. How do you know the Plaza Rose Garden is like one of my favorite things ever. I remember every bit of it. I think you're confusing it with something else because I think you do know it. Yes, when you're walking towards headed towards the castle, it wasn't the hub. It was to the right by the old Swan Boats entrance and it had these beautiful winding walkways and. M1: I couldn't truly, I don't think I ever saw that in my life, even though I know that I did. I know that it, no. M2: You did! You did! Think about, think about... I find that shocking. M1: Okay, niche things we always did. We mentioned this before, Disney Quest, our family, Disney Quest was an absolute must do. Yep, it was an absolute must do for us. We absolutely loved Disney Quest. ⁓ We only literally hung out on like one single floor of Disney Quest, but it was like every single trip we did Disney Quest. It was like what fifth part? M2: We used a park ticket for Disney Quest. No question. It was so just to get into a tiny bit of Disney Quest lore. We recorded this song or mouse or three dead. think we did too, but I'm going to try to find it when I'm home from Memorial Day in Connecticut. It's a song boys are better than girls are. And if I can find it, I will upload it into here and play it for you guys in a couple, probably in a couple of weeks, because I don't know how to load a CD into a computer anymore. ⁓ Other things we always did Blizzard Beach. I think we talked about this. We never did Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach was our home, still is my home. M1: It's amazing. And we did it like every trip. Again, it was like another park. You always went to Blizzard Beach. M2: The next one is the best one, masks at Epcot. ⁓ We just talked about this. If you don't know, the KidKat stations used to have masks and you would decorate them and you would get these cool things that would hang down from them from each country. And you would also get a little circle with a punch card in the middle, a little token. And during the Epcot parade, you'd throw that token into like a little thing and make a wish. Iconic. M1: You got a stamp from each country on the post for this mask. It was iconic. You have to decorate your mask. It was so fun. M2: If there was masks right now, I would make one every trip. No question. No question. I smell the smell of the markers. M1: ⁓ 100%. I mean, it was so fun and KidKot has never been the same since they took the masks away. M2: Yeah, Club Cool. We like discovered Club Cool. Not that early on, honestly, but when we discovered it, we were those people that were like, this is the best kept secret. I feel like it kind of was a secret back then, no? M1: We were like, it was a secret back then. And like, you could get free soda. We didn't even drink soda as kids, but like, just the idea that you would get anything for free like that at Disney, it felt like the biggest hack. This was obviously 100,000 years before social media. Like, the only way you would find out about this stuff is walking into it or seeing it on a map or like seeing it in a guidebook. It felt like the coolest secret. M2: I remember the two, you won't find this any guidebook. Next time you check into a dark side of Hollywood, make sure you know just what kind of vacancy you're filling. I had a soda at my friend, that same friend actually, bowling birthday party. And I had a root beer float when I was a Girl Scout and I tried a sip of dad's Mountain Dew. And that's the soda I had until club cool. M1: Yeah, we didn't, I literally didn't drink soda ever. M2: wasn't like anyone yeah it just like wasn't a party but club cool was always very special we didn't know about the Beverly until like 2018 2017 maybe M1: Yeah. Cause I feel like that was like a social media thing. Yeah. M2: It was like a, yeah. Okay, cookie sandwiches. The like tollhouse cookie sandwiches, specifically sitting on the steps of what is now the Frozen Theater and watching Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade, best parade ever. M1: We were also big parade people. We watched Disney Stars and Motorcars. We watched the Jammin' Jungle at Animal Kingdom. We watched the parades at Magic Kingdom. I have this further on, but we watched Spectro Magic like always. We did not watch Wishes, but we did watch Spectro Magic like always. We were huge parade people. But related to Cookie Sandwich, the other thing they used to have in the parks was the It's a Cadoozy. M2: I'm a pig. We watched that Epcot Yeah, big parade people. You know when we were in Disneyland Paris two years or two or three years ago in 2023 and I got one over by that weird stupid cars tram ride and I got into Cadoosie. M1: They had an It's a Cadoosie? I wish they'd bring the It's a Caduceus back to Disney World. It's a Caduceus was iconic. It was like, you either got a cookie sandwich. M2: Now they just have that strawberry popsicle. like, the last thing I want is a plain strawberry popsicle. Yeah. M1: I want an It's a Caduzzi. We either got a cookie sandwich, our dad loved cookie sandwiches, or if you wanted a popsicle, you got an It's a Caduzzi. M2: so freaking good. M1: Next, we always did Ellen's. would like, and you know, don't know Ellen's wasn't like not in the Tay Day by this point in time. I feel like there would be like three rows filled in Ellen's and our family would be like obsessed. M2: If Ellen's, I stand by this, Ellen's should be there and Guardian shouldn't. If Ellen's was there, I would do it no question every trip. M1: I love Alan's. M2: Ellen's was amazing and Guardians should be ⁓ elsewhere. ⁓ M1: Ellen's Energy Adventure in case people are like, what is Ellen's? Ellen's Energy Adventure in Epcot. M2: Stupid Judy. Ineventions, and then I have specifically the segue thing. We're a big Ineventions family. Just like we're a Disney Quest family. Except we didn't know that the other side of Ineventions existed until like, I don't know, 2016. Like we had no idea. We only did one side. We finally realized very late in the game, the side that had some of all thrills. If you're an Ineventions high prize, what are you talking about? We didn't realize that for so long. Even on my M1: I loved. Everyone else is like, what are you even saying? M2: June of June 2018 trip me and mouse at three went in the carcass of interventions and did the remaining things that were in there. Bring back intervention seriously actually. M1: We loved interventions, but specifically in interventions, we were obsessed with the segues. Pop a mouse, here's some like really, really, really random. Papa Melsa's office is extremely close to our house. It's like, it was like a three minute drive or something. So he always said that he was going to get a segue, because he could take a segue down to the office. like segues were so revolutionary, I feel like at that time. They still are. So, but you could ride a segue in Inventions and Upcap, but you had to be 16. So Papa Melsa would always get to do it. M2: I still, they still are. can't believe like, yeah, they are. M1: and we would be so jealous. And I remember finally when I turned 16, I got to do it. And it was like the most exciting and thrilling thing of all time. This was when Innovations, this is when Innovations was like at death's door. But like the fact that I finally got to ride the Segway was like, ⁓ my God, the best thing ever. M2: I'm gonna try to find those pictures. Yeah. Okay. I'll add one more thing that we never did to kind of close out on this before we get into our pits and peaches and facts. We didn't ever go in Morocco for a very, very, very long time up in like at least beyond like 2010, 2011. We never before that we never ever went into Morocco. M1: I don't think we realized that there was like that extra layer that you could like go through the archway. We like didn't know. M2: No, we had no idea. Kidcot stand wasn't there. yeah, we never ever went over there really. So, all right, I think that's, those are it. Do you have any others? All right, pit and peach of the week. I'll start with my pit. My lawn mower broke a week and a half ago. I had to bring it, go through this whole process. The guy repaired it, picked it up. Mouse said I went to mow the lawn today. It broke again. I'm furious and so is she, so. That was my pit of the day. can't talk about it anymore. It's making me, it's triggering me. M1: pit is that I've been sick for 10 days and it's not going away and I'm traveling soon and I'm going to a wedding and I feel disgusting. I blow my nose 100,000 times a day and it's making me feel sick and tired and I'm really, really, really over it. M2: Sick and tired of being sick and tired. M1: Okay, peach. M2: ⁓ my God, earlier I was like, ⁓ that's my peach. I had a good hair day today. Not right now as I'm recording, just in case you were confused, but this morning I had a great hair day. That was a peach. ⁓ I guess my other peach is that I'm going to Paris soon. Okay, another pit is that I was supposed to go to Rehoboth with our family for Memorial Day and the weather is gonna be crap. I'm gonna be. M1: It's gonna be like 60 degrees and radiant sucks. Yeah, my peach is probably that like I'm flying to London on Monday and the Mikkel's gonna go to London, which I'm super excited about. My pit related to that would be that I have to pack. I'm absolutely dreading it. I couldn't wanna do that less. M2: I don't think about it as fun. I went to Nordstrom Rock today and ⁓ my god. M1: I went to Nordstrom today, twins, Nordstrom twins. M2: I went to Nordstrom Rack. Wait, I just have to say this. I tried on this white blouse and there was like a zipper on the side and there was like a safety thing that was blocking the zipper from opening completely, which I was like, Jesus. But I was able to get it on. Didn't look that good on me. So said, OK, I got trapped in it. literally was like for like 10 minutes. I was trying to like pull it over my head and I was like just standing there. like, I'm going to have to ask someone for help. Finally, I was able to get it off my body. I leave the dressing room. Some woman pops her head out right when I'm walking out. goes, ⁓ my God, I'm so, so, so sorry to ask this, but I have been stuck in this romper. And she goes, and it looks horrible on me. She's like, and it's awful. For so long, she goes, can you please unzip this for me? And actually it wasn't as bad as she was saying, although I'm sure she was hating it as she was stuck in it. And I was like, so I had to help her. And I said, I wasn't alone. M1: I have a similar story with TJ Maxx yesterday. I tried on seven things, okay? When I came out of the dressing room, and TJ Maxx is like really strict with how many things you bring in and take out. So when I came out of the dressing room, I hung them on the rack and the woman, let's say her name was Bertha, I don't know. She goes, taking none of these? And I said, yeah, no, she goes, so Bertha's gotta put them all back? I was like, ⁓ I was like, ⁓ like, sorry. And she goes, Bertha needs to go home. And so I was like, ⁓ okay. So then when I was back out, I found one other dress that I wanted to try on and I really didn't want to go back because Bertha had shamed me. So I decided that I would just try. I was like, I just slipped it on over what I was wearing and it was too tight. I literally standing in the like center of the store by the beer. And I'm trying to get it. I'm wearing an athletic dress. Okay. there's like biker shorts underneath. I'm trying to get the dress off. It's so tight. And the security tag. goes up my athletic dress and pulls the athletic dress up. So like the underskirt skirt thing is showing and I can't get the dress over my head. It was so embarrassing. It was so embarrassing. I'm standing in the store trying to wiggle out of it for probably like four minutes, which is way too long. M2: I was gonna say is like, cause I was in Primark in New York when my train was delayed and I was like, ⁓ pop into Primark. I got a couple things. The dressing room line was so long that I just, I was like, I'll just slip some stuff on the store. And I was like, there's certain type of women who will do that. And there were certain people who won't and we do that and it's uncouth. M1: It was humiliating. The dress was so tight on me. looked awful. And then I couldn't get it off. It was so embarrassing. That was a pit. That was a pit. M2: Being trapped in my shirt was a almost like I almost was like I might just have to buy this Oh one more pit and then I guess I promise we'll tell you the fact that I promised at the beginning of the episode I was checking out and there was I like obviously looked at all the prices. There was like a huge sale going on So was like, this is amazing There was a shirt that I was like kind of 50-50 about and then I talked myself into being like wait I actually love this Suddenly they bring it up. It's $109 and I'm like staring at it I'm like trying to figure out what they bring up There's $109 and I said, sorry Which one was $109? And she said, what? And I said, oh, so which item was $109? And she said, like, what, this shirt? And I said, oh, sorry, can you remove that, please? I'm not going to be purchasing that. M1: Okay, sorry, I must tell the story that it makes me think of. No, I have to, I have to. Before my wedding, we're looking for a cologne for mouth slit C. Low stakes, but we wanted a special wedding day cologne. We go to Bloomingdale's. Whatever, salesperson helps us. find a cologne. I'm like, great, this smells so good. She goes to ring it up. She rings it up. She goes, that'll be $585. I said, oh. And I had to be like, oh. M2: No, she's not a M1: ⁓ we, guess actually won't be buying that. And she goes, and she goes, okay, no problem. Like, do you want to just buy the small bottle then? And I said, ⁓ yeah, maybe like how much is that? And she was like $395 or something still asinine. And I had to be like, unfortunately, no, thank you for helping us for the last 30 minutes. We will be leaving. This is way too expensive. I wanted to spend like $30 on this. It was so embarrassing. M2: That's right. No. That's why I like that shirt. Had it been like 60 bucks, I might have just been like, all right, I'll get it. Because everything was like pretty cheap. But it was like $109. No, this is North Derm Rock. It was just like, but like there's like a bunch of like random designer stuff in there. I that store is actually like a wasteland of just like, it's like random clothing. It's like, you've got to be in there searching for a gem, but I really needed a specific white shirt. I was going to go to H ⁓ M1: $109 at Prime, wait, this is at Primark? ⁓ That's still kind of expensive. Bye. M2: but North America was closer, so I like, I'll pop in, and then I was like, I'm not going to H ⁓ My fact of the day is about the courtyard and the animation courtyard. I had forgotten for a moment. I was trying to think. ⁓ The animation courtyard, you know, if you know, it's like previous iteration to what we have now, which was that had the launch bay in there. And even if you remember what was there before, which was kind of the like you could meet Mickey in his phantasmic outfit, which I loved. M1: She forgot, she forgot. In case you weren't watching that video, she forgot. M2: But it was just sort of empty space the reason that whole area feels awkward is because that used to be the entrance to the back lot tour a long long long time ago Before they moved over to kind of behind where like Toy Story mania is today That was the entrance to the back lot tour The park was a lot smaller really the only area in the park you go to was Hollywood Hollywood Boulevard animation courtyard the lake area with a great movie ride echo lake and then they eventually opened up star tours and then like Muppets like a couple of years after But like there wasn't streets of America that wasn't really open. That was a part of the backlot tour. And so you enter through there after they changed the entrance. It was just like constant trying to like retrofit and make it work. I think this is the first time it's actually worked. M1: Thank God. M2: Thank God. M1: Okay, my fact is that when you're riding Expedition Everest, the mountain that you are going up is not actually technically Everest. And when you look at Expedition Everest, it's a three-peaked mountain. The big mountain in the center is not Everest. Everest is actually the mountain to the right. And that is supposed to be because it's supposed to be showing perspective that when you're not right up in front of Everest, it doesn't necessarily look like the biggest mountain. But yeah, you are going up a different mountain looking for the Yeti. I forget what it's called. Okay, that's the mountain you're going up. M2: called the Forbidden Mountain. That's a cool backstory. We should do like a deep dive on Everest because we've been talking about it. There's some cool lore there. But all right, as we said, next week it'll be me and Mouselet A talking all things Disneyland, Paris. The week after it will be M1 joined by potentially Mouselet 3 or maybe Taron. We'll see. Maybe Mouselet C. You guys could do like a deep dive on food. That could be kind of fun. Maybe he would come on. Someone will be there. TBD who? M1: Yeah, someone will be here. M2: And then we'll be back together in a couple weeks after that. So you'll see a couple of guests guest hosts coming up. But if you liked this episode, please be sure to give us a five star rating on Spotify and Apple. It does make a huge difference. And if you are listening on YouTube, which I know a lot of you do, make sure you subscribe to our channel. But not only that, make sure you're checking every Monday for Mouselets Monday. I just posted a full vlog of our entire trip. So if you want to kind of see how it actually went and our thoughts other than my meltdown by Dumbo, which I wish I will say I cut out. M1: leave you cut that out. You were so pleasant and jovial during that time. Thea Mintley. M2: ⁓ wait, and vehemently ⁓ Anyway, and then if you want even more sister sisters We do a big segment at the beginning of every episode sitting on the ground talking where we dive into More lore behind-the-scenes stuff so you can subscribe to our patreon for that But I will see you all next week and that's the one we'll see you in two weeks. Bye guys M1: Bye.
