M2: Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Sisters Sisters.

M1: Welcome back.

M2: We are going to Disney. We're in Disney right now, actually, when you're listening to this. And so we have an entire episode focused on our trip, all of the things we have planned, a bunch of mouse-lets lore, but we actually have a couple of things to cover first. ⁓

M1: We wanted to loop back first to something we discussed last week. Mousletoe was sharing about the noodle bar, if you know, know, and how it was like, because they wanted to add quick service on Main Street. And we realized, wait, what about Casey's? I'm excited because I don't know the answer to this.

M2: So Casey's is the hot dogs place, you know, on Main Street, if you don't know that, Popeye Casey's, but at Disneyland, they don't have Casey's. They have something called the Refreshment Corner sponsored by Coca-Cola. And I actually didn't realize that Magic Kingdom had that also. From 1971 through 1995, Magic Kingdom had the Refreshment Corner. Okay, I did read a lot of stuff about the Refreshment Corner to see, did they sell hot dogs? and I know that they sold drinks and some snacks. I did not find if they sold hot dogs or not. So I'm unclear if they sold hot dogs in the refreshment corner, but in 1995, Casey's opened. So it was not original to the park. ⁓ The refreshment corner was, and if you went to the refreshment corner and you know if it sold hot dogs, let me know.

M1: Okay, I feel like it probably did because multiple people commented on last week's episode being like, no, Casey's definitely existed. I was there in 1979, I was there in 1992. They probably were just remembering it as the refreshment port, know, misremembering the refreshment port, but I would assume that's because they got a hot dog and they remember getting a hot dog. So my guess is it did sell hot, my guess is it did.

M2: That would make sense. wasn't, it wasn't that different. It was themed similarly. There's still Coca-Cola stuff all inside there. ⁓ There's not that much like coverage on it. In fact, our friend Greg from that Parklife podcast was one of the people who covered it. So that was fun. So I just wanted to circle back on that. I do also want to lament one thing, which is that Disneyland has this little restaurant called Carnation Cafe, which is kind of where like the center of the Emporium is today. And Disneyland Paris has a restaurant on the second story called Walt's.

M1: Thank you, Greg.

M2: And I know we have the Plaza and Tony's. I just am craving like a better restaurant on Main Street, like a sit down.

M1: Tony's is just like Tony's. don't know. Tony's is like something else to me. The Plaza, I guess, is what that restaurant should be. The Plaza just is kind of mediocre.

M2: The menu is small. It's tiny in there. There's also no bathrooms in there, which kind of bugs me. Yeah, you have to walk outside to the bathrooms over in Tomorrowland. I think that if the plaza had like... By the noodle bar. If they had outdoor seating, maybe, I don't know, something about the plaza. I was just there. It was not my best meal. It was not my favorite place. I just wish that there was some quintessential Main Street restaurant and I don't feel like we have that, you know?

M1: And the restaurant is small. Yeah, everything about it is small. Hmm. by the noodle bar. Yeah, the positive to me is that restaurant I never even think of going to, honestly, because it's so small and so limited. I'm just kind of like, ⁓

M2: I probably won't go back for like five more years if I'm being honest.

M1: I haven't been in over five years.

M2: A chili veggie burger you can one one every five years. So anyway, OK, one more thing you need to talk about how unhinged you have been with those fans that you bought.

M1: Okay, so people have been giving me a lot of tips as requested because I'm going with a baby for the first time. It's been so helpful. I feel like I've gotten like so many helpful little tips and things. Our friend, WellHelloMagic, Jessica just gave me, she was like, buy one of those giant IKEA bags to dump stuff in as you go through security. I bought one of those. She gave me a link to like a cooling mat for the stroller that doesn't need to be like refrigerated. So I've been doing so many tips. But one thing is that a tip that I got was if you, Yeah, are you raising your hand?

M2: I raised my hand. Well, I don't get why you have to take everything out of a stroller when you go through security.

M1: Okay, I actually, I don't either. And people are probably gonna be like, people are, I think it's not if you leave everything on, they're gonna search every single bag in the stroller, but I'm kind of like, okay, go ahead. I don't know. I think it makes it faster if you take it out. I don't know. I'm like, but I'm like, do I have to unload the stroller or should I unload the stroller? Cause it will make it faster. I'm not sure. Me too. I would just be like, go ahead. And like, I know that security will take some time and like, that's okay.

M2: Cause there's metal detectors. But if. but you have to unload your whole stroller. It's just like a want. Correct. Because if not, I would not. I wouldn't do it. If I happen to get pulled, which I probably won't, but if I happen to, fine. I know.

M1: Yeah, I've like actually have been meaning to like look up a video. I'm sure people in the comments are going to be like, you don't understand. like, but the thing is, I genuinely don't understand. Yeah. And I'm actually very curious for that. But one of the things that people told me is that it's going to be, have you seen the highest temperature for when we're there? What do think that, what do you think that, mean, either mouse seated. What do think the peak, like the peak highest temperature on one of the days where there is?

M2: I'm sure you'll understand like the first time you do it. I don't really look at weather, ever. Like 87.

M1: 94, okay? It's gonna be 94. It's gonna be so hot.

M2: Here's the thing, every time I've been to Disney recently, I've been kind of a charl, cold, a chilly, chilly, willy. In my mind, I'm gonna be cold there. I said it every trip. I'm like, I'm worried I'm gonna be cold.

M1: Yeah, so the high is 94. So I'm like worried, obviously, I don't want the Miklet to be really, really hot. So people say if you buy like a stroller fan off of Amazon, it's gonna die, which makes sense. Like my handheld fans obviously die very easily. They, whatever. So people suggested that you get these fans that are by the brand Ryobi, Ryobi. It's like a lime green brand that makes power tools. You would picture it. Like you might have a Ryobi drill in your basement. They have like batteries that come out, whatever. They also make, yeah.

M2: Pretty sure I have a Ryobi drill in my basement.

M1: Exactly, we have a Ryobi handsaw. They also make these fans, these like heavy duty fans with these big lithium batteries and yes, I know I have to put the lithium battery in my check bag, not my carry on it. I know that one. But because otherwise people would tell me, but people are telling me that those Ryobi fans are like a hot commodity and that people are going to steal them off of my stroller, which is crazy to me. I cannot see that happening, honestly.

M2: Good thing you said that. I just watched a TikTok and I don't, and I'm gonna summarize it in 15 seconds. I actually, like stopped watching halfway through, but this family had rented a double stroller and rented a single stroller. The single stroller had none of their stuff in it, but it just had like their name tag on it. Someone stole the single stroller or maybe got confused, but probably stole it. They put all their stuff on it, including a bucket of KFC chicken relevant to the story in a moment, because then they ended up finding that their stroller was stolen. The husband who seems like he was crazy,

M1: ⁓ I watched this TikTok too.

M2: picked up the bucket of chicken, dumped it out on the ground, picked up all their stuff, threw it, and then launched the bag at like a woman and a baby. And then I stopped watching.

M1: Yes, I did too. This was the wife telling the story being like, ⁓ my god, I'm like horrified. Yeah.

M2: And she and she was like roasting her husband in the comments she was like this is awful But I was like that my point with that story was like really would people actually steal a single stroller. It's like ten bucks a day 20 whatever

M1: Which it was. I mean, I guess like stealing a stroller that doesn't have anything in it is like, a Disney stroller that doesn't have anything in it is like, okay, but someone's going to walk up to my parked stroller and take the fan off and put it on their own. So here's my thought, okay. People don't come into Disney to steal things, right? People would see an opportunity and steal it. then get it, presumably they would be using the fan. So I wrote all over the fan, mouse slits, do not steal.

M2: Disney stroller too.

M1: Exclamation point, Exclamation point, Exclamation point, do not steal. I wrote it three times on each fan. I tie, I knotted a set of ribbons around it a bunch of times. Like you could in theory undo the knots, but it would like take a long time. And then for the lithium batteries that pop out, cause I'm like, maybe those are a hot commodity. I wrote mouse lids on it, but it's black, so it's hard to see. So I put stickers all over them to try and deter people from taking something that's very obviously mine. Thoughts on if it will work.

M2: Well, in my mind, just, and I understand that like, I clearly think the best of people, because I know that this happens. I just can't imagine someone, you could be sitting right there, moseying up to your stroller and snatching something off of it. I know what happens at Disneyland, because after you did that, I was watching a bunch of videos and it was like, seemingly happens at Disneyland a lot. And I don't, I don't really understand why, other than like, it's a locals park. If there's like a, I am like, you're paying to go to Disney. I don't.

M1: Same. You're paying to be there. People also told me, cause so I have like a stroller caddy and I was like, this is perfect. I'm going to keep a bunch of my stuff in the stroller caddy, such as, such as our camera. Yeah. Cause I don't want to carry this in my bag. People say that someone will reach in and steal my camera. Like, are you joking? Yeah, I guess. But then someone could just take the air tag off. Like it wouldn't be like locked on. Like I'm going to write, I'll steal on that. It's like, what the heck?

M2: Okay, they said people would steal your camera. Put an air tag on it or something, honestly. I mean, but like, well. Don't... I don't know, I don't know.

M1: Mouset- wait guys, Mousetoo kept telling me to write to put a sign on the stroller that says this stroller is monitored by CCTV

M2: by CCTV because there was a bike in Boston that had a big sign on it. It was like a, it was a bike full of, it was like a dumpster bike. Basically it had like a crate full of stuff and it sat there and it said, this bike is monitored by CCTV and I would never have dared take something off that bike. So.

M1: I'm like what does that even mean this just stroller is monitored by CTCTV?

M2: It's like if I honestly you should do that that actually makes sense I wonder if Disney would be like you can't record CCTV in the parks anyway

M1: And I would be like, I'm not guys, I'm not, don't worry. Anyways, I'll report back, I'll let you know if my tactic works to try and deter people from stealing my very valuable Ryobi fans.

M2: which those feel like a lot, but whatever to keep the Mikulets safe. All right, let's get into, there's a tiny bit of news this week. I'll kick it off today that we're recording. It's May the 4th. So it's the it's the month of Star Wars and the biggest thing that came other than obviously some merch and new food and things is that Batuu in Disneyland. Some people call it Batuu West has officially changed their timeline so they are no longer in the sequels. They're in the original trilogy. You can meet Leia, Luke, Ellen DeGeneres, sorry, Han Solo, Luke, The Wig, The Wig.

M1: Oh my god, the wig. Did you see it? Yeah, did you see Luke's wig?

M2: I've seen Luke's wig since Luke came. Luke doesn't do it for me. I don't like that Luke is like the Mandalorian version of himself. ⁓

M1: don't even know what that means. Luke's wig looks like Vector from Despicable Me.

M2: But in general, so anyway, well, they're there, that Luke's Luke doesn't work for me too much. I think Leo is good. I think Han worked well. They also changed out even like all of the banners. Darth Vader has replaced Kylo Ren. He is out there looking for Luke Skywalker. It's it's really cool. I think how they did it. It is interesting because Rise of the Resistance is stuck in the the sequel. So like the timeline is funky. I think that they could have set up the land better to do a swap like that. And they like didn't set it up perfectly for that. Agreed. I, yeah. And now I'm like, when would they switch back? But I think all in all, it seems really cool. I like that they're different on both sides. I just think that they need to do a little bit more in Disneyland. So I'll be there in August and I'm excited to see it.

M1: I feel like they thought that they were never gonna do it. Which... Next piece of news, apparently the Haunted Mansion reopened. Was it closed? That's exciting. Okay. And another opening news, Big Thunder reopened. Have you seen any videos of it?

M2: It was closed and now it is open again. Yes, I watched Nick from The Theme Park Dad's videos on it.

M1: Okay, I started to watch this as well. I saw that, you they announced that they were gonna have a million bats. I saw the bats. I saw the two seconds of the rainbow. And I said, I actually don't want to watch this until I'm there. And I turned it off. Sorry, Nick.

M2: The rainbow. I saw the rainbow. I didn't watch anything else, but I saw the rainbow. I didn't see the baths the rainbow looked good I'm excited about it. I mean We we don't have a lightning lane for it. We'll get to that in a minute, but we are gonna rope chop it So we'll get to that but that there's other like various things of news But this that was kind of the big the meat of it the biggest news

M1: It looked cool! ⁓ yeah, we'll get to that in a minute. Mousletoo did the news this week, guys. You're not getting any of my excellent news like when Pop Century changed their Bell Services costumes.

M2: There's a brand a Custodian at pop century has a new pair of shoes like seriously, let's get into the main segment Wait, we're going to Disney and. We play what was that Disney bingo game? It's like sort of sitting in my mind that we used to play before we went on every single Disney trip and I also and I also made up a song but I can't think of what the song was I was gonna start singing go ⁓ yeah, here we come Disney lots of fun Mickey Mouse guess what? No, guess what you see his house

M1: made that game. ⁓ I know the song. It goes like, I'll sing it. Disney, here we come. Disney, lots of fun. Disney, Mickey Mouse. Disney, you see his house. Guys, it's very hard for us to sing together because there's a little tiny delay. So we're both always like, er, er, er, er, er, But yes.

M2: Yes, we used to get love to go to Disney and plan our trips out I made up that song and then mouse little one. It wasn't just a Disney bingo

M1: I I made Disney bingo. so I had like the like picture in a three ring binder. You would have like a little like clear folder, like slip papers into. I had those and.

M2: cellophane, Mr. Cellophane. Is that what it is?

M1: I don't know, is it cellophane? Yeah, I cellophane. And it was bingo with the word Disney on the top. And I had expo markers and we would play, I don't remember how I was like drawing the numbers exactly, but we would play bingo and it was like so fun. I loved it. It always made me feel like the trip is about to begin. I'm like, should we play? I'm like, should we play?

M2: Same it like even right now it like kicks we used to share a room literally We used to share a room we shared our our house had like the previous owners built like an addition And we shared that room in the addition. It was like a big room It was painted pink now green and purple and had a pink rug in there, which is still there today. Just fun fact and I Yeah, just to be clear and I remember sitting on the ground there I remember where the bookshelf was and it sat in the bottom of the bookshelf and that we would play it It's funny. Doesn't that just put you?

M1: The previous owners put that in, not us. I can, and I can smell the expo markers because we played with these like old, big expo markers, yeah.

M2: Same, same, it's like, I remember you have dad's company. anyway, that wasn't even planned. It just popped into my mind. But this trip, because the baby is coming, it's the first trip, it's like so interesting, kind of by chance, we ended up just sort of inserting a bunch of the things we did as a family for many, many years into this trip. Not that intentionally, but it's kind of become like an OG Mouselet's family trip.

M1: Yeah, so we're gonna go through, we're gonna tell you our itinerary for the trip, kind of the things that we're planning, any like tips we have, our thoughts on the baby, and sort of layer in a lot of mouse-let's lore, honestly, and sort of the nostalgia that we're gonna be bringing in, whether intentionally or not, for the Miklet. So let's start with where we're staying. When we were kids, we've talked about this before, we always, always stayed in the same place. We stayed in our parents Marriott Timeshare, they don't have it anymore, but it was at a place that we called Horizons, and it was like a two-bedroom, Villa, guess you could call it, a two bedroom like little apartment thing. And it's...

M2: It was really nice because it had a kitchen like a full-size kitchen. It had this booth iconic booth It had a bedroom with two double beds with these cute bedspreads and a bathroom That's where me and mouse lit one more and then I had a big king bed with another bathroom That's where mama and papa mouse it were mouse three He was so little when we started going that he's like barely exists in my mind there. I don't he's something to pull out I guess

M1: The booth was iconic, yeah. He slept on the pullout. Yeah, he slept on the pullout. But then sometimes he would sleep with us. Sometimes he would alternate beds between us. Yeah.

M2: Sometimes, yeah, but that was like iconic. We'd stayed there every year. It was so special. Then in 2018, 2018 lore, we started staying like me and Melsom went on site more. By 2019, we were staying on site a lot and post COVID, we almost always stay on site, like almost always.

M1: We always stay on site. Like we'll do a night off site if we're like getting in late on a flight or something to like save some money. We'll stay at like a random. Yeah. And it's weird to me that, so I love switching resorts now. Like it's so fun to experience the new resorts. That's like, no, no, no. ⁓ no, no, no, no, no, no. You misunderstood me. I love on each trip we stay at a different resort, switching resorts trip to trip. I do not love a split stay. It's like it makes, it's part of what makes it fun.

M2: or like swan a dolphin and stuff, but yeah. You love a split stay? Whoa! Yeah, me too.

M1: But as a kid, I would have been like, what the heck, we're not staying where we always stay. So it's interesting to me that for the Miklet, like, he won't have the tradition of always staying in the same place.

M2: I love switching resorts. think it keeps it fresh.

M1: Not split stays. We love, well, you might love a split stay. I don't.

M2: I don't I mean, I don't love a split stay, but I feel like it keeps it fresh and it is. mean, the Mikla won't know now, but it is interesting to think while we have a home resort of the Grand Floridian, we stay all these all bunch of different places, even like next year for our big family trip. We're planning on staying at Bay Lake Tower. ⁓ Well, this time this trip, I think the biggest thing we knew was that we wanted to stay in like a room together. We didn't want to mom and pop a mouse. Let's snore. It's awful. OK. The baby's gonna be there. Like we couldn't all, can't all be in one hotel room. That would just not work. I decided to book us.

M1: And we can't, and we actually can't even be in two rooms because like you need a room, mom and pop and Mouselet need a room and then me and Mouselet C need a room. If the Miklet wasn't gonna be there, Mouselet two would share a room with me Mouselet C, but the baby still kind of wakes up during the night. It's just like kind of disruptive.

M2: Yeah, I mean. Like I considered staying at like Port Orleans being like we get multiple rooms, but it just like wouldn't be the same There's not like a communal space for us to all hang out in anyway So back when the trip was just me and mama and Papa Mouse lit I decided that we're gonna do a split stay because we're staying at the Grand Floridian We rented points with David's I'll get to that in a minute But the other half of the trip I booked us the all-star music family suite never stayed there The only thing we know about them is from when we peered through a window when we stayed at the all-stars a while ago The room was empty. It was an un

M1: The room was empty and being cleaned, the door was wide open with cleaning stuff in it, yeah.

M2: Being clean just to be clear and we were appearing through the window and weird of us and I was like this seems like a great option I did some research and honestly, it's great. You can sleep six. It is too Queen I believe it's Queen beds and like kind of a living space that has a separate bedroom a one bedroom has a bathroom It has a little kitchenette the theming is simple, but I'm like this is it was under $300 per night

M1: The beds in the living space are Murphy beds. One is a couch, one is the table and chairs like they have at Pop Century. that's like an amazing space use. And I actually know the exact price because I had to extend my stay because I'm flying down, whatever, Tuesday instead of Wednesday, we'll get there in a sec. It was $292 pre-tax per night for a multi-bedroom suite, six people.

M2: that sleeps six like hypothetically, wouldn't again, because of this, like if people didn't snore maybe, but we could all share that room, the table and chairs. I'm like, this is literally, this is fantastic. I don't feel like anyone talks about it. I'm really, really, really excited to do that. We have a lot of fun stuff planned at All Star Music. Do you want to talk about that or the grand first?

M1: Well, let's talk about All-Star Music, I guess, a little bit. So I did request that my room be adjoining. There aren't that many family suites. So I'm not sure that they will be able to accommodate it. I did read something that like the family suites I think are all in the preferred area and my room is not a preferred room. So like it might be harder to get it to be adjoining, but I did call Disney. They put in the request for me. They were very nice. So we'll see if that happens. We'll report back.

M2: Okay. Yeah. Well, you're flying in on Tuesday. So say that, yeah.

M1: Yeah, so I'm flying in Tuesday night. I talked about this last week. I had a whole debacle with figuring out my flight. So me, Mama Mouselet, Mouselet C and the Micklet are flying in Tuesday night. We're meeting Papa Mouselet who's already in Florida. Mama and Papa Mouselet had already planned to stay offsite that night. They love Marriott, they're staying in a random Marriott. I didn't wanna have to switch and then switch again. me and Mouselet C and the Micklet are staying two nights at All Star Music and then Mouselet 2 gets there the next morning. But so, we'll talk about this in a minute. We're doing Blizzard Beach. But then Wednesday night we decided let's have a night at All Star Music.

M2: All-star music the last we've stated all-star music like twice I think now once was a while ago in 2019 and then on another split stay and then we stayed there more recently I Really like all-star music. I think the feet well, I like all-star movies, but I think the theming at the all-stars is fun I think that the food court is fun. I think the pools like it's a vibe. It's different It's not a moderate or deluxe resort. It's different, but I really like the the energy there I feel like there's just like a fun energy. I don't know thoughts

M1: Okay, last time that we stayed at the All Stars, I got there like before Mouse Lit 2, I guess. So I had to eat dinner in the food court alone, whatever. I was actually, I said this, I was so impressed with the number of options they had for dinner. It was so extensive. And I got like a chicken, like a roast chicken with two sides. And I got mashed potatoes and I don't even remember what the other side was. And the mashed potatoes were so good that I went up and I bought another side of mashed potatoes. And I ate them as I walked to our room. They were amazing.

M2: I don't think I knew that. ⁓ my God.

M1: I was very impressed with the food court there for dinner though, so we're gonna do that. And then I actually was wondering, I'm not sure, but like a lot of resorts have like a movie at night or like little things happening. Yeah.

M2: I think they'll have a movie and like even like the pool like it's gonna be warm. It would be fun to just do like a little nighttime dip in the pool and like

M1: And honestly sitting in the family suite like watching a little family movie like hanging out would be really fun.

M2: The thing that's, here's our issue with Papa Mouselet. He goes to bed very, very early, like 8 p.m. because he wakes up at like three, okay? And I told him and Mama Mouselet, said, take the one bed, take the bedroom. They're like, no, no, he has to, he also has to work in the morgue.

M1: Well, also Papa Mouse that wants to wake up, he doesn't want to wake up at three or four AM, he just does. But then when he wakes up, he like works out, but then he's done at four or five AM, so then he works. So he always wants to be in the living space because he wants to go sit at the table and work and that room has a table to work in. But it's like, but then nobody at night can be in the living space.

M2: I was gonna say like, we swap and you and Mouseless C are in that room? But no, I don't wanna hear the baby screaming at night. So I'll just deal with that work. But I was like, I'm not sleeping in the king bed in the one bedroom queen, whatever it is, and you're out. Like it just doesn't make sense. And so we'll kind of see, but.

M1: I'd love to have that king bed. Let's keep pondering on that.

M2: Nar, I do think it'd be good if he slept in that room though. I was going to say, because then we could watch a movie, get some pizza, watch a movie, relax like it'd be fun. I think it's just going to be we can learn to dance. I'm I'm very excited to stay there and I'm really excited to try it out because again, I personally don't see much coverage about this at all. Very rarely.

M1: No, I think it's a very, very, very hidden secret. Again, there also aren't that many of them. When I went to go add the additional room to my stay, this was like only like two weeks ago, it showed the Family Suite as an option and it was still available two weeks out. And you know, this is like a decently popular time of year. But I think normally perhaps they sell out more so people don't even know or see them as an option. But like, we'll cover it.

M2: Agreed. Maybe. They also have family suites of art of animation that are way more expensive. like, and they're more themed, but I'm like, you know what? I don't need the theming. If I'm staying in a family suite and I'm looking for a bang for my buck, 300 bucks about, you know, ish, that's a good deal. It's probably a little bit higher on like weekends and stuff, just, you know, to be clear, but still to sleep six people, like that's an amazing deal. The other, that's the, yes. And the other half, we are doing a split stay.

M1: but those are more expensive. So that's the first half of our stay.

M2: A split stay is basically when you stay at two resorts, for example, we once did all star music and then we stayed at the boardwalk and it's just a way to it's almost like bang for your buck a little bit. You're like lessening the cost. Do you want to stay two places? Whatever it is we're doing kind of like an opposite opposite. We're saying at the all star music and then we're saying at the Grand Floridian.

M1: You So I am very excited. We're staying at the Grand Floridian with David's Vacation Club Rentals. We've talked about them before, but you can rent DVC points through them and it makes Deluxe Resorts significantly, significantly cheaper. And it honestly like puts them, at least for us, into a range of affordability. A rack room rate at the Grand Floridian is not really affordable, in my opinion.

M2: It was. The Grand Floridian is very expensive for a one bedroom per night, just to be clear, but it using David's, we're saving $600 a night, which is a night, $600 a night. We're saving like $2,000 using David's to say the Grand Floridian. I'm not saying the Grand Floridian is cheap, but like it's so much cheaper renting DVC points. don't have to be a DVC owner. I know we've talked about it before, but like that is the best hack. We're saying in a one bedroom and then we're getting an adjoining

M1: A knight. Like, that's insane. Yes.

M2: single room studio.

M1: ⁓ a joining studio, not exactly what I would typically recommend, honestly, but again, we had had the one bedroom booked by the time I decided to go, there were no two bedrooms available. And so instead I booked a DVC villa, but I had to pay cash for it. There was no actual DVC. It's very confusing. Whatever, I booked a studio villa. Yeah, I thought that it wouldn't even be an option to get it adjoining. I asked on Instagram.

M2: Hopefully we can get it adjoining.

M1: People said it was, again, I called Disney and I put in the request. I should at least for this one be able to be very close to them if not adjoining. So we'll see how that goes. But I am very excited for this. I've said this many times, but the Grand Floridian is where I like dreamed of staying as a kid. We'd ride past it on the monorail. I thought maybe I'd stay there one night for my wedding. And so to get to have the Mikulet have his first trip there and like, not that he'll remember it, but I'll remember it, is special. That's one of the main reasons that it's,

M2: But the proximity is unbeatable. Being so close also with Papa Mouselet who doesn't like to like he can go back from Epcot. It works so much better to have this close proximity. And yes, obviously the Grand Floridian is super, super expensive. Understand that, but it is so special that we get to do this. And I mean, yeah, the Micklet won't remember it, but we will remember it. And I feel like that's part of it.

M1: Yeah, that it works.

M2: We love the Grand Floridian. We love to get like acai bowls in the morning and just like enjoy the ground. We'll definitely do some time swimming and just relaxing. ⁓ we don't have any specific plan per se, but I do know that last time we were there, Mama Mouselet really wanted to go to some of the stores, get into Basin more and go to some of the gift shops. I feel like we, we didn't have that much time to do it. So I wouldn't mind doing that. And even like me and Mama Mouselet getting like a mocktail or a cocktail, whatever at the, at the, what's it called? The birdhouse, the perch.

M1: Yeah. Yeah, but well, do you remember the last time we were there, the lobby was like under construction. So there was a weird little yes, because the the check-in desks were ⁓ completely blocked off. So they had this weird little sitting area that they were using for check-in, but it was very like only certain people were allowed in. was just the lobby was like not conducive to being in at all at the time. So I'm excited to be able to bring Mama and Papa Masa back. Now the construction is done.

M2: ⁓ yeah, that was awful. A little alcove.

M1: the purchase open and they can actually kind of like enjoy being in there. Last time it was just like, no.

M2: Yeah, and so that's that's our plan just all stars then the grand but we'll get into kind of our day to day we're gonna jump back to our Well, the first day you guys are just gonna be doing whatever but I arrive I like 1030. It's the only flight I could get so I ever ever 1030 in the morning and we're going to Blizzard Beach, which I'm Really excited about because we are a Blizzard Beach family

M1: So when we were kids, we went to Typhoon Lagoon like one time and said, that was horrible. Boo, literally like where's the boo button? We were like, that was awful. We had always gone to, at that, yeah, thank you. At that point, we'd probably gone to like Blizzard Beach once or something. And the next time we said, let's try Typhoon Lagoon. And we said, never again. And ever since we always went to Blizzard Beach. And so one of the reasons that actually we thought Typhoon Lagoon was so terrible is our family.

M2: Boo. Yeah. There it is.

M1: Loved the Blizzard Beach family raft ride. Loved it.

M2: Love we love a family raft ride and the typhoon lagoon one. Don't get confused. Don't get confused If you've been there recently, they have a new type. They have a new failure after I think it's called a gang blank falls Don't quote me on that. They only had this little tiny one at the time You have to wheel your raft up you get on there. You have to push it up a hill up the stairs you get on there It's you're getting pelted with water and it's like five seconds long We just did it recently and it wasn't even fun. It was it was unbelievably not fun

M1: two seconds long. We did it recently with Mama Mouselet, it was crazy.

M2: And for the past four years, me and you have just been living at Typhoon Lagoon because Blizzard Beach was never open when we were there. Well, it was open in the winter and we're not going to a water park in the winter. Yeah.

M1: because it's never open. It's well, we don't go in the winter. Yes, which and so we finally, Blizzard Beach is open. Have we triple checked? I have not. Have you? Please check right now. If it's closed, I'll actually, I'll actually like literally scream at the top of my lungs. No, it can't be. It's going to be. Please check. Okay. I'm actually really scared. We

M2: I mean... Stop. I'm checking, okay?

M1: I can't I can't even like move on to the next talking point. It opened today. Okay, no check because last time it literally like closed the day that we got there.

M2: It was open today. It was open today. It's open. You know, it was open today. It's open. It's open. No, it's open on Wednesday from 10 to five. Perfect timing for when I get there. 10 to five. It's only six hours. All right, it's open. Thank God.

M1: Exactly, exactly. Okay, thank God. So yeah, I knew that. I know, that'll be perfect. So guys, we just had a little mini panic. But when we were kids, if you've been to Blizzard Beach, there is a like kids specific area. This was another reason that we loved Blizzard Beach, not the like Little Tykes toddler area, the area with like the icebergs where there's training. Yeah, like the ski patrol training area, there's like

M2: The training, the training area.

M1: nets and these floating icebergs, like a little ziplining thing, that area, we always sat at that area. We spent so much time there. And then me and Mouselot were very tiny. We were very small kids. You can only play in the area till you're like 12. We would constantly, we would be a little bit older being like, we have to go play in that area.

M2: Well, mean, I think we also like we we look because I got tall but I looked young. I mean, we would do the same thing. Any playground we went to, we would be like, get in there. I'm young at heart. mean.

M1: And our brother was still playing on it. We were like, we have to play on it. 100%. It was so fun. No.

M2: If I could go on that right now, I would. I love an interactive type thing. I don't think we'll sit there this time. don't like, I guess we could technically sit in that little tiny baby area because of the miclet, but I don't know. Something I thought about actually that I wanted to bring up is our friends at Plus Size Park Coppers, they always get a polar patio at Blizzard Beach and they love it.

M1: Those are like the private, it's like a private patio basically, similar to how you can rent like a little, yeah you can rent like a little cabana at the pool, but this is their Blizzard Beach version.

M2: It's like a deck, yeah, like a deck. It's like safe and like soft drinks and someone will get food for you. We have to pay for it. I love watching them do it and I've read Bethany Vinton also gets them. ⁓ my God. I can't get on board with it. I feel like I just I'm you I think could kind of be like suede. I can't get on board with it. It does not look that enticing to me.

M1: Okay. My biggest issue with it is I want to be in a lounge chair in like a big lay flat lounge chair in the sun and they oft- yeah you don't but they often are shaded and they just have more like regular chairs like it's not big enough to have a bunch of sun chairs for people so it doesn't work for me.

M2: There's no sun. Yeah. I don't, so. Yeah. So I don't know. I thought about that because I was like, ⁓ with the Mikulet, that could be good. But now I think I don't think we'll have an issue getting a seat. I I need to be in the shade, but.

M1: We are not going to be there right when the park opens, so we'll see.

M2: I mean, I'm gonna wear a long sleeve swimsuit. My skin is so sensitive, so I don't wanna get scorched.

M1: The good thing is, Mama Mouselet doesn't really do the slides, so she can hang out with the Micklet. I talked to my pediatrician, the Micklet can go in the water, like he can get in, he can... The pediatrician was like, he's gonna love it. The pediatrician was a big Disney adult, so we were like really bonding over it. She said he's gonna love it. So we were like talking about that and having him in the water and stuff, which I'm very excited for. But for the most part, like he'll obviously just kind of be like hanging out.

M2: Your pediatrician was excited for the baby to go in the water. I think he can go in the lazy river, right?

M1: Yeah, I think he could be in one of the... he could be with us. He'd have to like be with us. Well, they have those little baby tubes, but I don't even think he could be in one of those. Yeah, tools.

M2: What obviously where do think I would say he would be? Those are those are kid tools tool things. Toops you can get one of those things he could sit in, but he can't sit up by himself. He's just too little. Where we know it's going to be kind of like I'm flying in. We're going to do. We're going to do the failure after I we're going to do a couple of the other like slides will do toboggan's. It's just going to be chill. We'll probably go back to all stars like on the earlier side and just relax, but it's just to like pop in.

M1: Yeah. Yeah.

M2: The reason we really planned it is because we thought that Cool Kid Summer had started, but...

M1: We thought it was gonna be free, it's not, but that's okay.

M2: Alas, but that's fine. Anyway, the next day we are doing an iconic Mouselets family thing, which is we're starting at Magic Kingdom, which we always used to do when we were kids. And now we've sort of changed that around, but we're doing it this time.

M1: Which, so when we were little, would take a, our trip was like over a week. We would go from like a Friday to the following Sunday, pretty much always. And so we would go to most parks twice and we always started the trip in Magic Kingdom and ended the trip in Magic Kingdom. And it-

M2: It was just like you had to kick it off. Like if we didn't, it would just be like, we're not at Disney. Like we had to just, we had to do it.

M1: And it was actually one of the things that when we started going to Disney, as the mouse slits on these shorter trips was the hardest for me not starting in Magic Kingdom for a while. I found to be like very jarring. I was like, the trip hasn't begun. Like we haven't gone.

M2: We started at Hollywood. ⁓ I like to start at Hollywood a lot because it gets busy. We start for years and years. But when we started the mouse, let's go to Hollywood first.

M1: Yeah, and I like really was bothered by it. I'm used to it now, but for the baby, we're like, his first park has to be Magic Kingdom. Like he has, I don't even know. People were like, what's his first ride gonna be? I think it's probably gonna be the people mover just because of like, but like, I feel like his first ride should be like Small World or something, something quintessential, Dumbo.

M2: People mover or buzz light year. Hey, we can do small, I mean, we can do small world. don't mean, I don't know. We'll see, we'll see.

M1: Something that we always did as kids that to me is like the most quintessential Disney ride is Peter Pan ⁓ and we don't have that to do with the Mikkel. I feel like we need to deal with that.

M2: Well, thing, OK, two things. Peter Pan is tier one. Thunder Mountain, which we don't have a lightning lane for in a moment. We'll tell you about that tier one. Space Mountain is tier one. So it's like I booked a Space Mountain. I really want to ride Space Mountain. I guess in hindsight I could have booked this Peter Pan. mean, like I don't have to ride space. It just sort of made sense to start with. And that's what we just thought to start with. One thing that I was thinking, though, just to kind of think about the morning that morning, we're changing from All Star to the Grand. In no world are you going to be ready? So I've already decided that I'm going to put my suitcase in the car and take the bus to Magic Kingdom because I'm gonna Well, I was gonna say mama papa mouse that would drive me but then I was like, well you're gonna want the car Like I just know you're good. So I'm just like, you know what? That's fine I'm gonna brace my morning and enjoy myself at the Magic Kingdom. And I mean, maybe we should try to modify to Peter It'll probably be really late though at this point

M1: I already knew that you would do that. for sure. Yeah, but maybe we should try. mean, all of our lightning lanes are kind of all over the place because...

M2: Also, do you want the baby that high up? I don't know.

M1: Okay, interesting, Carly Weisel, shout out, very amusing podcast, was giving me some tips and she was saying that pretty much every ride, as far as she could remember, you can wear the baby in a baby carrier. But she said that the two rides that she thinks you can't are the carousel, which like makes sense to me, and Peter Pan. And I'm like, not having the baby in a baby carrier on Peter Pan? What if he wriggles out my arms? Yeah, I don't know.

M2: Out of what your hands? I don't know if I would bring them on that you're high up on that. We're rope dropping space. have Buzz Lightyear.

M1: Well, we're not rope dropping space, we have a lightning lane.

M2: ⁓ yeah. I guess we can rope chop Peter.

M1: if I'm there for rope drop, which I, I mean I'm gonna try but it's also hard with his like eating schedule. No, no no no no no no no no.

M2: Wake up early. Okay, I'll rope drop Peter. Fine, I'll rope drop Peter on my own. We have a lightning lane for space. We have a lightning lane for Buzz Lightyear, which I'm very, very, very excited to do.

M1: because it'll be our first time writing the new one. We're huge at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger spin fans.

M2: We love Buzz Lightyear. And then we're doing, yeah, not 100 % poo, because for the baby, poo for the baby. Mama Mouselet is petrified of the baby riding poo. She said it like 100 times. She thinks it's too bumpy for him. And I said, no, it's meant for babies, I think. But it's fine.

M1: Yes. It's like, don't, yeah, I think it's literally made for babies. We do wanna try and get a Tiana's wine. Like once we use one, we wanna try and get Tiana's.

M2: And we also want to try to get Thunder Mountain, which I think that there's a chance we'll get Day of if we scan in for something right away. I think there's a chance, but we're going to just do a second rope drop. This is like our best strategy. If you're staying on site at Magic Kingdom, you can only go to Tomorrowland or Fantasyland to start the day. You get in 30 minutes early. After that first 30 minutes, you can basically rope drop Liberty Square or Frontierland again, or Adventureland. And it is literally the best hack to get on those rides with no wait. You're still gonna be with like a horde of people, but that's how we're gonna do Thunder, so.

M1: It's very odd that Disney only opens Fantasyland in Tomorrowland for early entry. I truly do not really understand why. Yeah, they don't want to pay people, I guess. But yeah, it means that there's a second rope drop because that land isn't open to anybody until the park actually opens. Hopefully I make it for that. We're going to play by ear and we're going to see. But that is our current plan for Magic Kingdom. We also, so we're switching to the Grand Floridian that day and

M2: think it's money, like, not, it's like paying people.

M1: our room will be ready hopefully by like four o'clock ish and so hopefully earlier but we'll see and so the plan is like probably sometime when our room is ready we'll go back to the resort let check in settle in our room a little bit let the mickle have a break and then we'll go back at night there's like a zero percent chance that Papa Mouse will come back with us he's just gonna want to relax at the resort I'm not yeah there's no way I'm not sure that

M2: Hopefully, hopefully earlier than that. There's no way. I think Mouseless C will stay with the baby too.

M1: I think so too. And so we'll have a little gals night maybe in Magic Kingdom. I really want to see Happily Ever After.

M2: I want to see the Starlight Parade again. I've only seen it, I've only seen it three times now.

M1: Me too, me too. because, okay, you said that just to be smug, because you know I've seen it literally once. And guys, you should see her face. Yeah, you should see her face. But okay, as kids, we were so dedicated to the nighttime parades. It is one of the things that I like have the most nostalgia for. I was a spectro magic, spectro magic is mine. We always say some things are mine, some things are Maslow Too's. Yes.

M2: I I did. Main street electrical parade is mine. I still love Spectre Magic, but main street electrical parade is... Nighttime parades are mine in general. For sure, no question, no question. Daytime parades are yours, nighttime parades are mine.

M1: I love mainstream electrical, but Spectra is mine, for sure. I don't think so. No, no, no. Disagree. Disagree. But anyways, we love a nighttime parade. To me, it just felt like it feels so quintessential Disney. It really does.

M2: Quintessential Magic King, yeah, it does. We haven't seen the new, the Peter Pan float with Peter and Wendy on it, like spinning around. So I'm excited about that.

M1: Well, I've never seen the Peter Pan float. was not there the one time I saw it, Mm-hmm.

M2: ⁓ yeah, I forgot about that. I'm really excited. I think the Magic Kingdom Day is going to be good to start the trip. It's going to be like a little more of a chill day. We'll kind of just see where the day takes us. We don't have a specific plan. We have lightning lanes and that helps us have a little structure, but like we don't really have this huge list of must-dos. I want to bring the baby on Small World. I think he'll like it a lot because of the colors and the shapes and like the song.

M1: Me too. I wanna bring him on Small World, I wanna bring him on Dumbo. And actually, I keep seeing this video on social media that apparently around like 9, around like 9.45 in the morning, the characters that I think then go on to be in the Storybook Circus meet and greet area, go and ride Dumbo and then like go and take some pictures and stuff. And it's like so cute. And I keep in my head, I would love to be over there to see that and then ride Dumbo with him at Glitch.

M2: Apparently. That feels stressful for me to try to like get that to work. But sure, we can do that. We're wearing Dumbo outfits. So the Magic Kingdom day in general, I think it's just going to be like, we'll see where the day takes us. It's the baby's first time there. He'll need plenty of naps and feeding. And it's just like, we'll relax. I'm fine popping off and like filming some content. Like even me and Moussel one could go film content and mama Moussel could feed him or Moussel C could feed him. Like I think there's a lot of flexibility, which is going to be, which is going to be helpful. So.

M1: We purposely did not plan a sit down meal this day because we don't know exactly when the room's gonna be ready. We don't know who's gonna wanna be where. And so we said, let's just take it easy. Like we can eat in the parks quick service if we want. We can eat at the Grand Floridian quick service if we want. Like this is a very sort of just go with the flow day. I'm very excited for it.

M2: The next day is a little bit different because we're headed to Epcot and we're doing a ⁓ two-park day. We did buy park hoppers for Mama and Papa Mauslet just because, well specifically because of this day. We're doing Epcot in the morning and Hollywood at night. So Epcot, mean, the good thing about Epcot is that yes, some of the rides are fun. We did do Guardians Lightning Lanes, obviously, but we don't really have must-do rides. It's Flower and Garden Festival. We wanna eat the food. We wanna see the stuff.

M1: This is the day I'm the most stressed about.

M2: I think it'd be fun to bring the baby on things like living with the land and figment and stuff. But if we don't, we'll all be OK if we don't do those rides.

M1: We didn't buy multi-pass, so we don't have like planned lightning lanes for any of those, would just be.

M2: Well, we actually did buy multi-pass, but we have it for Hollywood Studios.

M1: ⁓ right, we're not using it at Epcot, we're saving them for Hollywood. So, well the first thing I was gonna say about Flower and Garden is this is some... ⁓

M2: Ugh, you little sucker, I'll do it.

M1: It worked. ⁓ my gosh, it says preview. I didn't, I didn't, I didn't properly switch it to the live thing. Why did they even have, why do we even have that lever? Why do they even have that option? Seriously? But anyways, this is a mouse slits lore. When we were kids, we only ever went during flower and garden to the point that I did not know that flower and garden was a special festival. I just thought that that's what Epcot literally always looked like. No, I didn't think about it either. It also like.

M2: It didn't work. There you go. There you go. I never really thought about it to be honest, yeah.

M1: I don't know, the festivals weren't like so heavily promoted. feel like back in like the early 2000s, it just...

M2: I guess I remember our friends talking about food and wine.

M1: But I thought that Food and Wine was a festival, like layered on top of Flower and Garden. I didn't know that Flower and Garden was like a super special thing. So the first time that I went to Epcot and there were no flowers out for Flower and Garden, I was like, ew. Yeah, like it looks horrible. But so it's gonna be Flower and Garden is our favorite.

M2: It is. Huh? Yeah, I. And I was at Flower and Garden, so I already have a book with three checkbook check marks. I already have the things that I like know I really want to get, so I think I'm well set up to just kind of see where the day takes us. I have a couple of like foods I want to get, but I mean, it also helps like we're just going to. We're going to walk around the world showcase. We're going to start in Mexico and we're going to make our loop loop de loop around popping a couple of different spots. Go in some stores like. Maybe we would go see Circle Vision. I don't know. I think we are pretty chill. I would like to do Living with the Land, ⁓ but if we don't, like I did just do it. So it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

M1: would like to live with the land. I think that the mickle would probably like that. I have seen that babies love aquariums. Granted the seas is like the dingiest aquarium of all time, but I would be curious like maybe he would like that. He can see across the room, he can see across the room they say. ⁓

M2: I think he can see. I don't know if he can see that far though. Yeah, he's so little still. ⁓ wow, alright, maybe that could be. I yeah, I think we'll just kind of do whatever. think the.

M1: some additional. We didn't go on Spaceship Earth until we were like in high school because our parents told us that living with the land was inside of Spaceship Earth, which I think we've said many.

M2: They said that was the top of Spaceship Earth. And I always sat there and I said, so are we going underground? And I was like, that's so interesting because there's not really a drop. But I was like, well, we are in the bottom of the land. And I bought it. I said, yep, we're at the top of Spaceship Earth.

M1: undergrad to get there. So we shouldn't bring the McLeod on Spaceship Earth until he's like 15. Yeah. ⁓ Okay, we also didn't really do Figment as kids.

M2: I actually support that until he is 15. It's also, I think it's too dark for him, but. ⁓ Papa and Mouser hated that ride.

M1: They he hated it. But I think that the mickle would probably like it. It's like a very kiddy kiddy ride, like lots of sort of bright poppy things to see.

M2: Just really that last scene. Again, like I think Epcot will be fine because we're gonna walk around the world showcase. Like you'll feed him whenever we can branch off if we need to eat different foods. Again, we're not doing sit down for that meal. We're just gonna kind of see where it takes us. are then drop park hopping to Hollywood studios and we do have some lightning lane stacked. So we're doing Runaway Railway because mama mouse that loves that. We're doing Toy Story Mania, obviously, but you can bring the baby on and you can bring the baby on Runaway Railway.

M1: And yeah, runaway railway. I think he'll like runaway railway. Pelsy C said that too. He said, should we bring the baby onto our after? I said, yeah.

M2: And we're doing Tower of Terror, which you can bring the baby on to. Luckily, Mama Mouslet doesn't do Tower of Terror, so this works very well. ⁓ Those are gonna be good. I don't even know if we'll do anything other than those three rides. And I feel like I'll get my money's worth if we do those three rides. If we can fit in a fourth, great. Rock and Roller Coaster won't be open yet. I don't have to do the Star Wars things. If we can fit in another, fine. But if we can't, it'll be okay.

M1: It's fine. Yeah, it's fine. We were thinking as we were preparing for this episode and sort of thinking about like things from our childhood. So much has changed from in Hollywood from when we were kids.

M2: basically almost everything except Indiana Jones.

M1: Yeah, literally. They're like, I was like, what did we even do there as kids? And then I remembered shows. We did shows. And Malsitoo is it Malsitoo used to hate Hollywood Studios because like all we would do is go to shows. She wasn't a show girlie then. She's not a show girlie now, honestly. But get ready with the Miklet shows.

M2: I used to hate Hollywood studios. It's just like. I mean, I don't have to see the shows. I'll go to Galaxy's Edge. I'll see the villain show again. I love the villain show. think Mama and Papa Mouset would like that. That's fun. I would see that. I mean, it's a little loud. He has his headphones though. ⁓ God, I don't want to see Beauty and the Beast. Like, ⁓ my God, I cannot see Beauty and the Beast. I see that show. Okay, I mean, I'll be doing something else then. ⁓ The Little Mermaid show, boof, gnar. I don't think we'll see Indy just because it's kind of loud. Like that's a lot for the Mikulet, but.

M1: Let's see if you beat it in the beast, I'm kind of in the mood. Although I am, I would be curious to see it without the big boulder, just because like, I'm like, what are you, what are they doing? Yeah.

M2: It'd boring, it'd be boring. But then we have a dinner reservation at Primetime. We love Primetime. We talked about it a lot from like the last trip. Primetime is our family's like special place. I think it's gonna be so fun, so.

M1: Me too. And I think that like the server will probably love having a little baby there. Like it'll be fun. I know. Well, you loved her. Another tip that I heard is that if the baby is actively sleeping in the stroller, they'll let you bring the stroller into a restaurant would be so convenient because the micklet cannot sit in a high chair yet because he's so little. I could, but it's harder to eat. He ends up with food on his head. Our last full day.

M2: I hope you have Whitney. We're at Delain. We could wear him though. That's sort of gross.

M1: We are doing a half day in Animal Kingdom and then we're gonna do a resort day but we'll start with Animal Kingdom. So we're going to do, of course, the safari. That's one of our absolute favorites.

M2: Another thing that mama mouse is like petrified that the baby is coming on. She's like, it's too bumpy. It's too bumpy. Like it's like a car. I mean, it is, it is bumpy.

M1: It's a good car. It's not that I'll like hold him obviously. Well, like hold him. Melsitu wrote Everest in my Everest era.

M2: I'm in my Everest era. I am in my Everest era. I have like this appreciation for Everest. Everest is a must for me. We didn't buy multi-passes to FYI. I'll do single rider for Everest. We'll rope drop the safari.

M1: Papa Mouselet just sent me a video of people being evac'd off of Everest.

M2: I saw that too. I'm yeah. We're going to do the the Gorilla Falls trail. I saw this video. I can't get into it too much because I showed you the video and there is someone showing these gorillas a baby. If you saw this video, you know what I'm about to say and then.

M1: I saw this video too. ⁓ you showed it to me, yes. I think it was a chimpanzee, wasn't it?

M2: I mean, I don't know. I have no idea. Sure, it was a chimp, whatever. And they held up the baby and he was so impressed. And then he, to not be too graphic, I mean, it is an animal who did it though. He took, he spread his legs apart and smashed the monkey, spread his legs apart and smashed his you know what, against the window. It was insane. Now it makes us.

M1: The monkey, not the baby, the monkey. You said you weren't really gonna get into it and you kind of fully got into it.

M2: ⁓ I don't want that to happen and I sort of fear it happening But I have seen other videos of like monkeys gorillas chimps, whatever loving babies I do want to kind of hold the baby up and see what they do Can you imagine if a monkey monkey did that?

M1: We love the gorillas in Gorilla Falls. I love watching them. No, no, I really, really, really cannot. ⁓ Yes, and we will not be doing any like dining specifically here. I assume we'll eat at Satuli.

M2: I'm excited for the monkeys to see the baby. Probably will eat a situli. Okay, I I love dining. We thought about doing Tusker house. I really wanted to, but you said it was too chaotic. And then we decided that other things in animal kingdom quickly like we'll do some of the walks. You're like, maybe we would see finding Nemo if we felt inclined adjust office of the Lion King. So, you know, I need a break from that.

M1: I think Tuscaraw's is very chaotic, yes. But Papa Melsit loves that show. No, he loves it, he loves it. Yeah.

M2: He's seen it many times. No, he wants to see if I need any more. told me. We could see his utopia. Like that show was cute. I wouldn't mind seeing that again, but I don't have to. Again, we don't have a crazy itinerary. We're just gonna kind of see where the day takes us, which I think is the perfect way to be with the baby. If the baby just needs to pull off and rest, like that'll be fine. ⁓ At night, so then we go back to the resort. We're gonna do a nice resort day. It is supposed to rain that day. So TBD on what we'll do then, but.

M1: Yes.

M2: Then we are going to Chef Mickey's, which is our family's like number one favorite spot we went every single year. It's like iconic to us.

M1: To me, Chef Mickey is one of the plays that feels the most Disney. Like, I'm like, ⁓ I'm in Disney. Like, it's so, so, so nostalgic. The food, Papa Mouselet loves the food. Papa Mouselet's like a meat and potatoes kind of guy. That's like exactly what Chef Mickey serves. I, ⁓ okay, yay. I wanted the Micklet to be able to meet the main characters, but I know that like,

M2: The smell, the vibe, everything about it. Good news, no rain on Saturday anymore. No sun, but no rain.

M1: That can be kind of hard sometimes like if there are lines and stuff. I was like perfect Chef Mickey is the perfect way he'll get to meet all of the characters. We won't have to worry about like meeting Mickey elsewhere. ⁓ We're doing a fun outfit. It's a surprise, but we're going to do a fun little outfit for it.

M2: We'll see how it goes. And then, oh, I wrote potatoes on here, but you already brought up your love of mashed potatoes from another thing, but they have such good potatoes there. Here's the issue for me with Chef Mickey. I want to eat so much. So I like, basically have to be really, I mean, so Thule will be good, but I gotta get like a salad, because I have to be hungry. Maybe I'll go to the gym on our...

M1: They have amazing potatoes. We, because we overeat at Chef Mickey's.

M2: Like what are we gonna do on the, we'll go swimming, but I might go to the gym or maybe I'd swim laps.

M1: would like to sure go ahead I would like to lay in the Sun something you do not like to do I would like to lay in the Sun ⁓ we could bring the Mikla over to the little Alice in Wonderland like water splash pad thing

M2: He's a little there's a there's an actual baby pool also.

M1: Where? don't know, where is it?

M2: I'm picturing it but like I think I'm thinking of the Polynesian.

M1: and you're picturing it where? But the, well I was gonna say the main pool is zero entry and so like for him he can be in the little zero entry area easily.

M2: in the back of the zero entry pool, but I think. That's a hot tub.

M1: Okay, now's the, now's the two spreading rumors.

M2: No baby pool, no baby pool. Yeah, no baby pool there. I'm the kid of the poly. Okay, you also wrote kissing a fish. I never, I never did this just to be clear.

M1: ⁓ because I was saying that... So as kids again we stayed off-site at our parents time share a place called Horizons and we would go for over a week so we would always have one or two days that we called Horizons days. They were full resort days we didn't go to Disney and the resort had lots of activities and one of them was cane pole fishing it was just like it wasn't like a wind-up fishing rut.

M2: I never did this. need everybody to know that. think fishing is cruel.

M1: You would fish for just little fish in like a little river right there. You would throw them back in. they would. And then if you caught a fish, you got a little coin and at the end of the stay, you could trade your coins in for a prize. But if you caught a fish and then you kiss the fish, you got 10 coins, which was like an insane number of coins. And so me and Melsith Rood always kiss our fish. Melsith too was not, she did not.

M2: They were, they were hurt. I'm gonna pick you up on a hook. I wouldn't even go to Cain Bullfishing after a while. was like, I'm done. I think it was, was me. So, okay, last day of our trip. Here's what I wrote. The last day just hasn't been hitting recently.

M1: We talked about this with your last trip, like for a last day to hit, you'd really kind of need to go to Animal Kingdom and feel like you're having a full park day because Animal Kingdom, yeah, because then you can have a pretty much a full park day because Animal Kingdom doesn't have enough to do to fill a full into true day.

M2: Yes, you basically need to be at Animal Kingdom. You leave at like two o'clock. You've done basically everything. No, last time we didn't really know what to do. Like we didn't couldn't decide. Eventually we popped over at Epcot. My flight, I was struggling with my flight times. mean, there's just not there were not good flight times for me. I fly super early and by super early, I mean, I have to leave it like 11 for the airport like ish. And so I'm just like that kind of stinks. And I was we're going to Grand Floridian Cafe. which will be fun and I'm excited about, but it was like, how can I make this day hit for me? Cause mama and papa mouse are there till like 7 p.m. And I decided, hawker walk. In the morning, I will go on a hawker walk with mama mouse lit and if you wanna come, whatever. And I think that will make me feel good.

M1: We do love our hot girl walks, especially staying on the monorail loop is like one of the best, obviously, hot girl walks that you can do. It's like there's so much to see in the morning. The vibes on like Seven Seas Lagoon Bay Lake are amazing.

M2: Sometimes we'll pop into, we'll just pop into Magic Kingdom and do a little loop, pop out. Yes, you can, she has a park ticket.

M1: Mama Mousley can't do that so she would have to wait. No she doesn't. I didn't buy her a park ticket for that day.

M2: What do think she's doing until 7 p.m.?

M1: hanging out at the resort you think Papa Mousa is gonna want to go to Magic Kingdom alone without the kids? I don't okay well we need to figure that out cuz currently she doesn't have a park ticket for that day but yeah we like can pop into Magic Kingdom he's gonna want to leave by the pool

M2: Yeah. Wow, I do. You should ask them. think they will. I think they will want to. All day?

M1: Have you met Papa Mouselet?

M2: Have you bought a mouse that might not want to? What? When are you leaving?

M1: Okay, anyways, my flight is at like four. So I mean, I'm there a little bit longer than you, but not that much longer.

M2: I mean, I leave pretty early, but Grand Floridian Cafe, that will be fun. We'll see what the other, like, that was the only flight time I could take unless I had a 9 p.m. flight. And for me, I can't get back. I can't fly, land at midnight, get home at like one, get to bed at two. I wake up at five for work. So I'm just like, that will not work. So.

M1: It was a 7pm flight but you know it was. Nope it was a 7pm flight.

M2: I so. I think I got to the airport at seven. Still, you know what? I still say I'm bi. I land at 10, 10.30. I get home at 11.30. Go to bed at one. I think about five.

M1: Anyways, okay, I was just gonna say that is so when we were kids guys, had a family friend who like would be like, okay, first I'm gonna walk down my driveway, that will take 10 minutes. Then I'm gonna wait for the bus, that will take 30 minutes. Then the bus ride to school, that'll take 40 minutes. And like in actuality, this whole thing would take, you know, like 15 minutes or something.

M2: I know what you're gonna say, blank time. Like, pretend their last name is Olaf, we call it Olaf time. And we exclusively, we say that all the time.

M1: Yes, so Mouseletoo is doing Olaf time for that 7 p.m flight, but anyway, she didn't book it. She booked a 2 p.m flight. So that day's gonna kind of be like, see, but we'll be at the Grand Floridian and we can just hang out there and stuff. We do at some point on the trip maybe want to walk over to do Wylulu. We didn't mention this, but on our Magic Kingdom day when we're gonna take a break midday, Wylulu is like one of our favorite restaurants on property. And so it's very close to the Grand Floridian. So we are maybe gonna walk over there and do that at some point. Mom and Mouselet would like love to do that, I'm sure.

M2: I just ate there and it was great. I feel like I was just at the parks. But anyway, this trip is gonna be really fun. Obviously, if you're listening, you probably know this, but follow along with our Instagram stories. We're also gonna have a vlog on YouTube, so I'm gonna be covering all of it. It's gonna be fun, it's gonna be different, so I'm very excited. But now let's get into our special segment. We have ⁓ a little transition sound here. I'm gonna play this one called Whispers of Dawn.

M1: Okay, horrible choice. That's a preloaded sound to be clear. Okay.

M2: ⁓ wow, that was really not what I anticipated. Okay, those all suck. Any hoodles, we're gonna have a little meeting of the Dull Disney Club. If you don't know what the Dull Disney Club it is, it is a club that I invented when I wanna share a Disney fact that is so dull and boring that I genuinely think nobody will care. But of course, like there is a small genre of us who love everything Disney and like there's a small little segment of people who do care. So I invented this thing called the Dull Disney Club where we talk about things that might seem very dull and we're talking about... crowd control and this all stemmed from the fact that I was at a conference last week for traffic engineers. It was basically all traffic engineers at this conference and we talked about a lot of things. One being congestion AKA traffic on the road, bottlenecks, and I made a video. I filmed a TikTok about about that very topic. said, ⁓ this so relates to Disney. Everything I do with civil engineering guys relates to Disney and so I thought we would talk about crowd control. Last week we also talked about. Disney creating dead ends like at Hollywood studios with Municeburg where it used to enter into the backlot tour and they cut it off and like Muppet courtyard and they cut it off. But I'm gonna talk about the hub. You're gonna talk about, why don't you talk about the welcome show and train station first.

M1: Okay, so back if you went to Magic Kingdom, which I'm sure many of you did back in the day, you would wait outside the park before the park opened if you were there for rope drop. And then the characters would come in on a train onto the Main Street train station, and they would do a little show and that would officially open the park for the day. And it was seriously so magical. It was iconic. I absolutely loved that thing. But...

M2: so iconic and so special.

M1: Disney was having a problem. So many people were starting to rope drop that area is not that large. And also they didn't used to have those like permanent security stations like pre 9-11 those were not there. And so when they added those, whatever that area was just getting way, way, way too congested. It was like dangerous pretty much. So they unfortunately had to get rid of that. They changed it for a bit where you would be able to go on Main Street anywhere and then they would do a castle show. then you could disperse. Now it's like a version of that, they do still do a little Welcome Castle show but you don't have to stay on Main Street anymore, you can go like walk and prep to go wherever little entrance you're going into. So it...

M2: And it's like, it's a little, it's quick. It's cute that they do it, but it's quick.

M1: It does not have the same je ne sais quoi, the same magic as the original train show. And like, unfortunately, you know, the way the park was built in 1971, they just didn't really have an option to keep it the way that it was. They have to focus on Disney's very focused on safety. Basically, the risk is someone getting like trampled, which would be literally horrible. awful. So like what they're doing now makes sense, but it is a bummer that we had to lose that.

M2: Je ne sais quoi. I mean, that would, yeah, I was about to say that would be. It yeah, it is a bummer and it's kind of a good example of Disney worrying about crowds and starting to think about that. But the biggest area that had crowd control issues and the biggest crowds right that everyone gathers for the fireworks. Almost everyone in the park gathers for the fireworks in the hub area and for many, many years to get from the hub area to Main Street USA. There was a bridge. It went over this little stream that had the Swan Boats ride that used to be there. You had to cross over this it was genuinely a bridge look different than was today if you don't remember or there are these two little narrow pathways on the side one over kind of by like Crystal Palace Adventureland and then one over by the purple wall. That was it Those are your only ways to get across there were no paths around the green hub area because that didn't exist and this was causing such insane congestion for for Disney like there was no way to get the crowds out and So what they did was they did this huge? expansion of that area. They widened and created what you know is the hub grass. Now they put two bypass paths on the outside of that that helped like disperse the crowds. And then they also built a literal true bypass behind Main Street. It's where you enter the Halloween party and the Christmas party if you've ever been to those, but it's literally a bypass as huge gates. And when it's super, super busy in the parks, they'll open that. And when it's super, super, super busy in the parks, they'll let you

M1: They open the other side.

M2: the other side, is unthemed and you walk through there. And I just posted about this and someone said that they worked for Disney. And the reason that they did this is actually because of Disneyland Paris. Do you want to explain that?

M1: So in Disneyland Paris, behind Main Street USA, they have something called an arcade. It is not an arcade as you're thinking of in America. If you've ever been to a European country, yeah, like London or Paris, they'll basically, in the center of buildings, like a bunch of buildings on the street, have a little alleyway that's covered. It's literally carved out of these buildings, pretty much. And it's a little alleyway of shops and stuff, and it's called an arcade. And in Disneyland Paris,

M2: Europe.

M1: behind the main shops of Main Street USA, you can go out the back of those shops into an arcade. And it's just, it's fully covered. It's an additional walkway, up Main Street USA, and they have cute little theme displays in there. And you can enter. Mouselotou and I are so dumb because we went to Disney in Paris, and then we got really confused when we went back to Walt Disney World, and we tried to go into the arcade at Walt Disney World.

M2: Which is actually, which is so, think that was after our first trip to Disneyland Paris. It was.

M1: No, it wasn't. It was like after I think the second or maybe the third. It was very, it was absurd that.

M2: Maybe it was after my trip. We probably didn't wait. This is perfect It was after my trip in 2017 after I was in college and then we went back in 2018. Now I remember we're so stupid. We thought that those arcades were there. How did like that's crazy to me that we thought that. But apparently that was so successful for them that they wanted to build this. I kind of wish they had built the arcade.

M1: And we were so confused. Yeah, the arcade is really nice. It's covered so if it's raining, you can walk under there. It adds so much additional traffic flow, both like up Main Street USA, yeah, but also into the stores because you can go through the back and yet adds so much character. It feels very, very like fitting with the land.

M2: and character. Yeah, it's very very cute. So anyway, that's a little look at traffic flow ⁓ and how it relates I'm gonna do another deep dive on some of this stuff soon because I love Traffic and Disney, but that's your dull Disney Club meeting. Let's end with a pit and a peach I'll start I run over my toe with my chair right before we started this episode. M2: ⁓ My toe is killing me. So that's my pit. My toe is literally perishing.

M1: My pit is that it is 9.34 p.m. on the night of Monday, May 4th. I have to leave my house, may the fourth be with you, I have to leave my house tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5th, revenge of the fifth, leave my house tomorrow at like 9.55. Yeah, why wouldn't I know that? Okay, leave my house tomorrow at like 9.55 in the morning at the absolute latest to go to Disney.

M2: May the fourth be with you. I can't believe you know that. shocked.

M1: And I am not packed at all. I wish you could see all the stuff next to me. I'm so stressed. I haven't done myself Tanner. I have to edit this podcast episode. I also too might need to pinch hit. I literally have so much left to do and I'm very stressed.

My pitch was this weekend, got to go to Mouse Lutoo's house with a bunch of family, which was very fun. ⁓ And then we also got to see Mouse Lutoo's family. They had a big party, which was a lot of fun. And it was just, it was a nice weekend of like family. was a little bit too much travel. We were sort of zipping all around the Northeast, but like it was worth it. We are going to end with the fact of the day, Mouse Lutoo's furiously writing in the document, Star Wars facts and million exclamation points and writing in what my facts should be when I had a fact prepared for once.

M2: It's... Was it Star Wars? Scrap that fact. You can pick whichever one I wrote. I don't care which one you pick. I'll take the other.

M1: No, of course not. Okay, I'll, I don't even know what one of these is. So I'll say the one that I do know, which is that outside of that Doc Ondar's, is that what it's called? Outside of that like little store in Galaxy's Edge, where he sells a lot of sort of like artifacts and like he's a collector or whatever. There's a Bigfoot, a big sculpture of a foot. And that is from a Bigfoot and that is from the Great Movie Ride. And it's a little tribute to the Great Movie Ride. The Pharaoh, I think.

M2: a big foot. from what's in. the, ⁓ is that what that giant Egyptian dog is called? ⁓ my God, wait, I was just watching stories of us in London when we went in, or Paris, can't remember which it was, when we went inside, it was London, inside of Harrods, and they have these escalators, and me and you both looked at each other in those stories and said, ⁓ my God, does this remind you of the Egyptian scene in the great movie ride? I was like, no, and guess what, guess what, it does. It does.

M1: Yes. it is. It's like, because it's like the egypt- it does. It does. So if you miss it, you should go to Harrods in London.

M2: Okay, this is my fact. This is about lights, motor action. So if you're in ⁓ the Black Spire Outpost area, right over by kind of where you get like a coffee is probably the best way to describe it. There are these three little like pod racing little car things you can call them. Those are tributes to lights, motor action, which was a show that was in that general area at Hollywood studios. And they have these like words written in some Star Wars language. I don't know exactly what it called, but it are a bash. They read. LMA for lights motor action and their land speeders and apparently Those are made from parts from some of the cars from lights motor action I don't know if that's part true, but definitely the language on it is so that's a cool little tribute that I that I love so
