A heat dome settled thick and still across the land from coast to hill. The air stood heavy, skies turned bright, As records fell in blazing light. And wildfires burned in Canada's north, while smoke came drifting southward forth. Millions breathed the hazy air. A warning drifting everywhere. This summer's sky was quick to burn. Philadelphia watched records turn. A hundred plus on Freedom's Day. The heat had more than heat to say. El Nino stirred the ocean's core, warming waters more and more. Its ripple soon may touch the sky and shape the storms as summer flies. In Venezuela, the ground gave way, two mighty quakes in a single day. Families gathered, held on tight, as scientists worked to shed some light. Then Bavi rose with Cat 5 might, the Marianas braced through the night, a powerful storm across the sea, a reminder of what storms can be. Yet through the math and changing charts, we find the strength of human hearts. For neighbors' help when waters rise beneath the wild and shifting skies. So do not fear the changing air, for there is beauty everywhere. Keep moving on with hope and grace and see the good in every face. As I take pause, please keep in mind the gentle truths we hope to find. The science clear, the stories deep, the comfort that we wish to keep. So keep your ears tuned, never fear.
