Gillian Griffin: me out. Hi, I'm Gigi and she's Mimi. And this is Love Island Tea Time. Marissa Castillo: And hi, Mimi. Love Island Tea Time. She's already on on her bullshit, y'all. It is too damn early. Especially for her to be on BS. Gillian Griffin: This episode would get taken down from YouTube. Marissa Castillo: I was gonna say something so bad, but I stopped myself. Impulse control. Gillian Griffin: my goodness, well here we go. It was family day, y'all. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, 'cause there's so much to discuss. Gillian Griffin: You said you didn't have much to discuss. Marissa Castillo: I don't. That's that was sarcasm. Gillian Griffin: Well I have plenty to discuss. I don't know what you were watching, but I was like Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: family daddy Marissa Castillo: Mm, yeah. Gillian Griffin: where'd you go? Marissa Castillo: Also, there's a lot of construction going on outside because this godforsaken city doesn't know when to stop. So Gillian Griffin: Okay. Where did you go though? Marissa Castillo: Turn my Wi Fi off because it doesn't help us in this situation. Gillian Griffin: Okay. Well, for those who are listening and not watching, she turned her camera off, so I was very confused. And it's it's six thirty in the morning for me, so I'm a little loopy. Anyway, Marissa Castillo: And also G G has ex boyfriend syndrome. Gillian Griffin: Yes, yes. I yesterday watching the World Cup got a crush on the referee. And then even when I Googled him later, like hours later, I was like, Why did I have a crush on this man? And then someone told me he's he's canceled. So I was like, okay, never mind. So I'm sap, mourning my ex-boyfriend. Marissa Castillo: That's not what I meant by that, but okay. Gillian Griffin: No you meant my where are you going? Who are you with? Who are you talking to? Liar. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Liar. Always calling me a liar. Went over right your went over right your head. Went right over your head. Gillian Griffin: Well we were I we were talking about boyfriends five minutes ago before we hit record. And now I tried to go s straight into family day and here we are. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Gillian Griffin: We could just start over again, but I don't feel like it. Marissa Castillo: I don't think people would appreciate it either way. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, someone will be mad that there was no chit chat at the beginning and someone else would be mad that there's too much. But it's only been three minutes. I think that's fine. okay. Family day. Did you say boop because you thought your camera was bad? Marissa Castillo: No, are you okay? I said boop because you said and here we go. And I said boop. Gillian Griffin: Okay. anyway. Not even gonna say it again because it's embarrassing. I was thinking to myself that I hate when they force everybody to talk to everybody when they force the chats in the morning and it's every single person in the villa, like every single boy and every single girl. Cause it's annoying and it's feels fake. And then they were already sending family in and I was like, I it. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: It was also really funny because like halfway through they established that the islanders can all go go and say hi. Because the first couple of families, only the islanders whose families it were, went over and hugged them and said hi. And then like the last two families or three maybe, everyone started going over to say hi and they're like, we can do that. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: It was really funny. And you know what else is really funny? I was sitting there like, when are they gonna bring Ethan's family? Surely not with Priya's family. Then I was like, you know what? They're cowards for not sending Aiden's family at the same time as Ethan and Priya's family. And then I was watching the Tomorrow Night and actually. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Died died when I realized that Aiden and Kevin have the same. Marissa Castillo: my god. The fact that you're cracking up over this, yes. Did you know they're brothers? Gillian Griffin: Yeah. We sent in the same people for both of them. Marissa Castillo: Jesus Christ. Gillian Griffin: God. Marissa Castillo: I can't with you. Shirley. Why wouldn't they send Ethan's family? They're in a couple. I don't think they would diverge from the plans. Gillian Griffin: I love it. I I love it. I But then I was just thinking, they should send all three families at once. That would be awesome. And then I realized watching the first look, that's the same family for the two people. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Gillian Griffin: That's crazy. That's crazy, but it did. I was like, and I was laughing at myself so hard because I'm so silly. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, did your mind get blown? Something like that. Gillian Griffin: I Yeah. Anyway, there's the addition of the parents meeting each other out front before. Did you notice that? I liked that. Marissa Castillo: I mean they did it for USA, so I wasn't really surprised. But if they haven't done that in the past, I would see why other people would be surprised by it. Gillian Griffin: They have the parents meet each other out front on USA. I didn't notice that. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: I wasn't paying attention, apparently. I don't remember that at all. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Yes, the families met each other out front for USA each time. I remember 'cause Melanie and Sincere's family talked about what was going on in the front and then they went in. Gillian Griffin: They done it before? Marissa Castillo: You're the expert, not me. Gillian Griffin: Hmm. I don't I don't remember them setting up and letting them have like a full conversation. I know that I know they meet each other out front. I know they rock up together, but I feel like usually they just show them coming through the house. Marissa Castillo: Mm. I see. Gillian Griffin: Or they just say they're coming and they don't like show the chit chat. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Anyway, everybody in tears immediately. Lorenzo, I've never met a girl's parents. Yeah. Yeah, that tracks. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: And then, I do think of any of the couples, the least to talk about is Tommy and Yasmin, because they are just so loved up and happy and so chill and nothing's gone wrong for them. Like they haven't they haven't technically had a test in the villa, like really at all. And so their parents were just singing their praises. And I thought the most important thing was that I think it's Tommy's mom said she that Yasmine's brought out a whole other side of him. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: And so that feels really genuine to me and really sweet. And I love that they just let Yasmin chit chat with her mom and aunt. Was it her aunt? Marissa Castillo: I think I don't know if her aunt's name was Nan. So that's then I got confused. I was like, wait, is that your Nan? Gillian Griffin: Like Nancy, yeah. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Okay. Gillian Griffin: I definitely had a really hard time because I would get distracted by seeing who was who. And Ian would say who what was going on, and then I'd be like, I didn't catch the first half of who who's walking in, so I don't know who's who. I'm like, is that his brother? Is that his friend? Is that his cousin? I don't know. I don't know what's happening. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. thank you. I think I got down who who's who for who. Gillian Griffin: so that Nice, nice. So it was it was Tommy and and Yasmin's what? Yasmin's mom and aunt and Tommy's Marissa Castillo: Má melhor. Gillian Griffin: Yes. That's right. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I just said they're all happy. Everyone's emotional. It's so sweet. Blah, blah, blah. What I will say, I wanted to say this before we got talking about each little family meeting, is that I really enjoyed the fact that this was a surprise to them. Whereas in the US they announced to the islanders that it's family day. I would have much rather preferred that. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: Then have it be known that the family was coming 'cause I felt like then they were allowed to prepare a little bit in the USA for what was to come. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I mean, it's just like the first couple that doesn't get to prepare. 'Cause then in the UK the what? my god, what? Marissa Castillo: Right. my god. They are fully jackhammering right now. Gillian Griffin: Can't hear it. Marissa Castillo: Lovely. Gillian Griffin: It's a good thing microphone's inside your sweater. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I'm trying something new. Gillian Griffin: Also, I still can't see you. Marissa Castillo: I can see you. Gillian Griffin: Am I supposed to be seeing you? Marissa Castillo: I don't know, I'm on camera. Gillian Griffin: Fascinating. Okay. So yeah, Tommy hasn't not that much talk about me, Tommy's dad both looks exactly and nothing like I expected him to look. You know what I mean? Marissa Castillo: I d I don't remember what that man looked like, to be fair. Gillian Griffin: He looked like Tommy with less chin, if I'm remembering correctly. Marissa Castillo: Interesting. Gillian Griffin: I'm pretty sure. Pretty sure that was the man. but yeah, they were super, super cute. No no thoughts on them probably from you. Marissa Castillo: No, not really. I mean, they're fine. It was a quick sh like it was pretty short that interaction. Gillian Griffin: And then Lorenzo did this and then this did this. And did you see what I said to him about this? Like I've never heard people run through everything that happened on the show so quickly. And then Rom's like, I know you really like him 'cause he was giving you cuddles and you love cuddles and she was like, I do And I was like, that's cute. That's cute And then going, the thing with Aiden is funny now. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Yes, it is. Well she squashed the beef. Gillian Griffin: It's yeah, it's really funny. let's see, so then after that it was Angelissa and Simba's family, and it was Angie's brother, Simba's brother, Angie's mom, Simba's dad, right? Marissa Castillo: Yes, that was a weird way of putting it, but yes. Gillian Griffin: I thought I'd mix it up, keep it fun. Keep you guessing. Keep you on your toes. Tippy toes. Tippy toes. Yeah Let's see. Her brother wasted zero time. They got out front of the house. He said, I'm have to correct your son. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Yes. I would do the same as the oldest sibling. If that were my younger sibling, I'd be like, I'm here for business and business only. Gillian Griffin: Pretty true. It's pretty true. And Angie sobbed. Marissa Castillo: She's screamed. Gillian Griffin: Script. Marissa Castillo: The scream she screamed was insane. I n I damn near thought she was going to have a heart attack. I have never heard her so loud in my entire life. Gillian Griffin: this always makes me think every time I watch it, just for those of y'all listening, here some more lore to just spew out. I've always been from a home of divorced parents, and we've always moved around a lot, so I've always been away from a lot of family. I don't know that I would cry or get this crazy be like, hey. And every time I watch, I was like, would people think that I'm like the worst person ever with my family either? Do you think you would cry? Marissa Castillo: cry if my mom came. I feel like and this I guess is relevant but irrelevant, I feel like you wouldn't have family come, you'd have friends. So like someone like me and Hannah would probably go. Gillian Griffin: Obviously. Well, they wouldn't fly Hannah here from Australia, so it would be you and Hosue, obviously. Marissa Castillo: That's true. Or if I mean whatever the case. And for me I feel like it'd be like you and my mom. And then I would I would actually sob. I s I sob just watching them. So Gillian Griffin: Mm. I knew it, I knew it. I forgot to write down. Did you cry? But of course you did. We all know she cried. We all felt it. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Especially. I mean TMI, it's that time of the month for me guys, so I I be crying. Gillian Griffin: Mm, fair, fair, fair, fair. Fair fair fair. I bet you cried the most at Mika. Marissa Castillo: I surely did I did. Gillian Griffin: I knew it. I knew it because I started to tear up just a little bit for some reason. I was like, I don't know why. But this one got me. This one's getting me. Probably because she's had such a different kind of hard time of feeling bad in there from being in the bottom all the time. But I digress. Let's talk about Angelista more. Simbal's and Simba. Simba's little brother looks a lot like huh? Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I guess so. I like Simba's dad. He's very chill and old school. Gillian Griffin: Mm mm. Yeah. That's cool. I like I like their families. I I like it. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, this they seem to blend really well together. You know, each family embraced the other, they let the past be the past. Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Mm except for one mother. Exactly what mother? Marissa Castillo: Well, I mean, she's she said her piece, but at the end of the day she just wants her daughter to be happy and I think that's what matters. Gillian Griffin: that's not what I'm talking about. We'll get there. Marissa Castillo: no, I'm talking about some I know who you're talking about, but I'm talking about specifically Angelissa S. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: Ang Angelus' mom. Yeah, I think for the most people, most people came with letting the past be the past but bringing up. Did you gag like I gagged when Angelus's brother pulled him and w I have questions. Marissa Castillo: No, I fully expected it to happen. Gillian Griffin: No, the question after that Marissa Castillo: yes, yes. The question of so why do you need to sleep with someone in in the same bed as them to know if you like them? The infamous question we've all been asking this entire season. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, yeah. I was gagged. I was like, that's the question. And that's the first one killed me. Exactly. It was like hilarious. Phenomenal. No notes. Cause I was like, we've all been wanting he went, yeah, well it's more about the journey, isn't it? Da Come on, Samba. But Marissa Castillo: Yeah. The gag you gugged. And the environment. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gillian Griffin: You know, it seems like he's on the right track with them. He has made her really happy in the past few days and she really did give him a hard time for a while. She didn't take him back too easily, I don't think. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I think, you know, she she gave it to him. It was well deserved. What I felt weird about was when her brother said, you know, you don't ever try to defend yourself, you never make excuses, you take it on the chin and I was like, Are we watching the same show? Gillian Griffin: Feel like he starts trying to defend himself after he feels like he's copped to it, and then he gets irritated that other people keep bringing it up, even though he's gone. Yeah, I know I did that. But just to be clear, sincere on USA. Sorry, we keep bringing this up. It's still one of my favorite Love Island moments of all time now. I know I move disrespectfully. Does it really make it better? Marissa Castillo: No. Gillian Griffin: always makeup better. Marissa Castillo: Can't with him. Gillian Griffin: I don't know when I'll stop thinking about that. One day. Marissa Castillo: Never. Gillian Griffin: So Marissa Castillo: I'll I'll bring it up to you, that's why. Gillian Griffin: exactly. Okay. Well we're gonna be in the middle of a fight about something stupid. Marissa Castillo: So dumb. Gillian Griffin: And one of us is just gonna pop that out. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, and just end the fight right there. That'll end the fight. Gillian Griffin: Exactly. so then we had Mika and it was her mom and her sister, and then I totally missed who they sent for Sam Raj. I don't know if that was his cousin, his brother, his friend. Marissa Castillo: think those were his two friends. Gillian Griffin: Okay, that felt more right because fr I was like, did I hear them say brother? Looks nothing like him. Looks nothing like him. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, his friends. Close friends. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Nice. Nice. So he's like me. He and I are the same. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, that's what I'm s that's what I'm saying. Like, I feel like you'd much rather have your friends than your family. Your dad would probably say something so embarrassing. Gillian Griffin: The c not even embarrassing, like cooked, like upsetting. So it would be weird. Like my autistic parents can stay at home. I love them, but I would absolutely throw myself into the ocean. And here's the other thing. You can't get Charity and James on a flight to Fiji. Sitting next to each other. No, so let's and then you can't Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. You can't even get them in the same room. Gillian Griffin: Go picking parents. So let's just not They first had Mika's ma sister and mom. And the first person I saw was her sister. And for one second before I looked at her mom, I was like, is that her mother? Marissa Castillo: no. Gillian Griffin: for one second and then I went, that is her sister. I s can see who her mother is. I was like, okay, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. And then she cried so much and her mom started crying and now I'm getting emotional. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. It's okay. Gillian Griffin: They're really cute. Marissa Castillo: They are. I think, you know, Mika's mom was just she just loved Samraj so much. And talking about like hearing her it was it was her talking about Samraj that made me emotional. Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: And seeing Samraj Gillian Griffin: so cute. Marissa Castillo: get emotional with his friends. I think they both just needed a a mood boost, you know. Gillian Griffin: And they both just went, we got you, brother, and they just hugged him. Positive masculinity, thank you. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I think the masculinity how do I put this? Whenever I've watched Australia or UK, the men just move differently in a sense where like they're just so loving towards one another. Whereas I feel like because b like whereas Zach and Bryce's relationship from USA is seen as something else, not just like a very close Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah. Marissa Castillo: Friendship. You know what I'm saying? Like there's a s stark difference in cultures. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, absolutely. And that was my other thing. I kept telling people, I was like, and someone also sampled for that the song from Legally Blonde, Is He Gay or European for Zach, and put that on an edit. And then at the end it's like, it's both. And I'm like, if you watch Love Island UK, it's not even that Marissa Castillo: gosh. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Listen, they were going a little extra nuts, but I think it was just because the producers like saw that the people started liking it and they just put in every single moment they humanly could. But the guys in UK like kiss each other on the lips, not like Mac down or anything, but they'll give each other a peck. They hug. It's not like a weird thing. They just they jump all over each other. Like I don't even know. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. It's just more embraced. Gillian Griffin: So and I even thought Yeah, and I even f found it weird. Sorry for the digression. I found it weird that I would even talk to like 'cause I work in West Hollywood, so we have a lot of a lot of regulars who are very gay and very lovely, but they would start talking about Love Island and be like, All we know is there are these gay guys and I'd be like I was like, are we not all just like a little bit gay if we're not super gay? Like, I don't know, love Whatever. And they're like, That's a gay man. And I'm like, I don't know why you gotta put him in this box because him and his friend get along and like to jump on each other and fake hump like if anything it feels very straight. Marissa Castillo: That's true. Gillian Griffin: Very straight and twelve year old boy coated, you know what I mean? I don't think it's that crazy. But yeah, it's nice to see on the UK the men shed their tears, people are cool about it. They can have two of their best male friends there and they'll just give them a hug and be like, We got you. It's cool and and that's nice to see. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Yeah, truly. I just I love me I do love Mika and Samroche. I think they're really good for each other. I think they bring out the best in one another. I think they're navigating something new together in a way where they're not really running away from their fears. I mean Mika did at first, but not anymore. And even her family understood her. Gillian Griffin: Same. Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: And w and we're like, I think, you know, she fell into her old patterns, but she's here now. She really likes you. We really like him. Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: And even his friend said that Mika brings out a different side to him as well. Which you can tell 'cause I think Samraj entering the villa is way different than who he is today. Gillian Griffin: Yes. Yes. Absolutely. And I like that his friends also said that she brought a different side of him. To me, that's a huge sign. That's massive. I don't think your friends and family just say that. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Some people, it's not the same. People do bring out whole different sides to each other all the time, i.e. Jasmine and Kevin, which I'm very nervous about because it was the only people they left for the next day. Marissa Castillo: Mm. I've I've already seen some things. Gillian Griffin: Concerned. God. Well, here's the thing. I think unlike other girls on USA, if Jasmine's mom and sister said no and that they thought she was getting splayed, she'd walk out of there holding hands with them. She'd leave. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I just I don't think that's gonna be the case. Gillian Griffin: I don't think, but I'm very curious about this because like I said, I feel like I feel like Angelista and I feel like Angelista and Mika and blanking out Yazin. I feel like they all got like quite a lot of time and then Piaz was quite quick, and then Julia, Julia and Lorenzo's was lightning fast compared. Because Marissa Castillo: Yes. I didn't have anything to say about them at all. Gillian Griffin: I've got things to say. I've got thoughts. but yeah. The Mika Samraj situation, very cute. They continue to win me over more. And if people put Aiden and Bria in the final over them, I will riot. I will riot. Marissa Castillo: Hmm Well Gillian Griffin: I will go on a rant on Twitter for no one, for all one of our followers, and I will make Mika and Samraj edits until I'm dead. Marissa Castillo: I f I fear that Aiden meeting Priya's family was very cute, so Gillian Griffin: It was very cute and then he's sobbing with his family. It's gonna he he just might get the the most gr most distance travel votes. What is it? Marissa Castillo: I don't know. Gillian Griffin: The how far he the votes for how far he's come, most changed. There you go. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: He might just get those votes. Marissa Castillo: I see. What I did also see is like that he might have been flirting with Jasmine's sister. Gillian Griffin: You know what I mean? good. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: thought that it was him who said that Mika's sister was so pretty and I was like, Leave it to Aiden and I but I think it was Tommy actually and then I like, that's innocent. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Cause student men have shown they have two very different characters. I don't know about you, but I one thousand percent in my head, even though wait, who do they send in? They sent in a mom and a friend and a mom and a sister. And even though they said Priya's mom and sister, I thought I had the wrong people. I saw those two families out front and I went, Ethan's half light, crazy. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, no. Well because Prius so big Gillian Griffin: Greek is half white, she's half Greek. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, and then she bonded with Samraj over being Punjabi, so I was like, Okay, but yeah. Gillian Griffin: So cute. Marissa Castillo: Everyone's family's different. Very cute. Gillian Griffin: The way she lifted her sister in the air. So cute. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Her favorite part's the kissing. Adorable. Favorite parts when you kiss Aiden. She Aiden waved to her across the garden. They both look like this. It's an affair happening in plain sight, everybody. It's a very specific joke. It's a very specific joke. Marissa Castillo: No, I saw that. I was like gosh. Gillian Griffin: But yeah, super precious, so precious. Marissa Castillo: I thought the little sister was precious. Priya was kind of annoying me this episode, just from start to finish. Gillian Griffin: Have to know who's here. Marissa Castillo: Not even that. It's just like first she was like, Why is my coffee taking so long? Why are you why are you throwing a big stink over your coffee yet again, girl? Like if you want it that bad, go get it yourself. Gillian Griffin: They forgot about this. She does go a bit hard in the paint about being irritated. Marissa Castillo: And then just speaking with her mom, it just felt very like me, me, me. Gillian Griffin: Very what? Marissa Castillo: Like are you proud of me, me, me? Like are you proud of me? Do I look good? This and this and that? Like it's it needed it g it like she just needed validation and reassurance. Gillian Griffin: Mm. Yeah, instead of asking you, did you see that this happened? Do you see that it happened? Have I been kissing too much? Is it this? Not not it didn't really feel like how do you feel about it? It was, do you like it? So I understand. But this is this has always been my thing with her, is like it feels very that coded. Even when like I did feel like Jasmine and Mika were genuinely crying at the beginning. I feel like Priya went like this to just join in. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: 'Cause she didn't sound emotional at all, regardless of whether once again people are gonna pull Jasmine up on I didn't see one single tear. so I was kinda like I I don't know, it it's people have brought up that like Priya has like a thing about needing to be like make sure she's in the social order and that she's one of the group really hard. So sometimes when she just like Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: rocks up to things like I was saying about the time she like rocked up to that conversation. It was the last person you're like, I would have I'm like, yeah, but Priya has a record of being like, No, I'm going over there. So it always to me I'm just like I wonder. I just find her questionable for the same reasons. For the who do you want to be in the final with? For do I look good, etc. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah, which is fair. Gillian Griffin: And then I'll really like her sometimes. And then other times she'll she'll do one of these things again. I'll be like, hmm. Okay. I'm putting that in my little data bank. Putting it in there. Yes. And then Samurak did so good with Priya's mom. Skipping ahead a little bit, I guess. And her mom was like, You don't have to he was like, No. I'm apologizing to you. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Which I thought was well timed considering they did speak about it, Priya and her mom. Gillian Griffin: Your daughter's awesome. For sure. For sure. Meanwhile, Ethan's mom was not pulling her punches. She was not being forgiving. She said, You literally made me cry. And I was like, But here's my thing. Cause we even talked about the the me and girl trio was together that day commentating. And she had literally said to Ethan, I think I'm gonna pull Aiden for a conversation. He went, Yeah, you should. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: And she was like, it was right in front of his face, da da da and I'm like, Aw Fair enough. But mama, it's this is not Ethan's year and trust me, his DMs are full. Everyone knows he rocks. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, this just his mom did the most for me. I'm like, I know I get it, he's probably like your pride and joy, but you just need to calm down. And I think it was v very telling of his character still at the end of the day, he's like, I'm fine. Like it's not that big of a deal. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, he spoke so well on Priya when his mom was like ready to drag her. Yeah. But even his brother was chills. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And I just didn't think it needed to be mentioned. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I mean or not even that in that way. Like definitely the mom could have been like, I was disappointed, I could have seen it. I don't feel like you gave him like a full go, but I understand you you were s already set on Aiden. Like, you know what I mean? Marissa Castillo: Yeah, and and I'm giving Priya huge props for always communicating with Ethan. We cannot say that she didn't do that. So Gillian Griffin: Yes. She constantly told him to his face, I'm thinking about Aiden, I'm thinking about Aiden. I can't imagine this being better, but like I'm going to try, but I'm still thinking about Aiden. You picked me. I want Aiden. Marissa Castillo: Right. Like I think she gave it as best of a shot as she could while still being true to herself. I think a lot of people wanted to force her into something that she didn't want to do. Even if people think Ethan is obviously the better choice, you gotta let her do what she wants to do at the end of the day. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah. God, the way there's gonna be recoupling tomorrow night and Ethan's gonna be like, Goodbye. His parents are probably still in still in in a where are they? Majorca. Marissa Castillo: I know. Majorca. Gillian Griffin: Okay, on to Yulia and her Fendi earrings. She's obsessed with Marissa Castillo: my god. Gillian Griffin: Really has me wondering if they're hers or if they're part of the eBay Love Island package and she's just been like, These are mine now. Marissa Castillo: Probably. Gillian Griffin: So funny. She wears them every day, day or night, rain or shine. Marissa Castillo: I thought that she put them on in a weird way, but they're just like the Gillian Griffin: They are. And and that's part of the reason why I low key hate them. Those earrings drive me crazy having to look at them. That one F is up and one F is down. So it's the Finde logo. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. That's too much. But you said you had things to say. Gillian Griffin: Yulia. She She almost had a panic attack. Marissa Castillo: I think she's just dramatic. Gillian Griffin: When she saw her mom and her sister, she was shaking. Shaking. I can see where all her confidence comes from because her her mom and her sister really gass her up. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Truly I'm like okay. Relax people. Gillian Griffin: You are a star. This is your moment. Now is your time. I was like, my God. Okay. Marissa Castillo: Mm-mm. It's giving it's giving she wanted airtime. And she got it. Gillian Griffin: Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Also, not to be rude, but Why didn't anyone tell Yulia's sister? Marissa Castillo: about her makeup? Gillian Griffin: Too high contrast for TV. Too high contrast for TV. Marissa Castillo: It gave eighties. Her whole look gave eighties. The pink lipstick with the blue eyeshadow is a classic eighties look. Gillian Griffin: Just It was cute. It just very high contrast for TV. Very Marissa Castillo: I not to be rude, I don't think it was cute. I think it probably aged her more than she needed to look like. Cause I th I thought I mean if her mom wasn't there, I could have sworn that could have been her mom. Gillian Griffin: Interesting. Yeah, I was like to be fair, I've made the same mistakes. I would have a hundred percent. But it was it was just like seeing her next to Yulia, how Yulia does her makeup and seeing how her sister does her makeup. I was like, did y'all not grow up in the same house? What's going on? Marissa Castillo: That was her friend, not her sister. Gillian Griffin: That wasn't her sister? Marissa Castillo: No, Gillian Griffin: my god, I thought that was her sister. Okay, then never mind. Marissa Castillo: Mm-mm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Still, I as a producer I've been like, Hey girl, those producers are rude. Rude. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. my god, I sang something in my head. Gillian Griffin: I'll be like just be like just a little just let's take this down real quick for you. That's it. Marissa Castillo: Just change the lippy at least. Gillian Griffin: Know the root. Anyway, anyway. yeah, I see exactly why they where she gets her specific energy from. Lorenzo's parents are hilarious. I see exactly why he's hilarious. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: He walked away from the fire pit. Her mom his mom went, he's gonna your dad's gonna chat me up by the fire pit. His dad went, You should be so lucky. And she laughed so big. And apparently these people are divorced. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Which explains a lot. Gillian Griffin: Makes yeah, it makes sense why I like Lorenzo and also why he's scared of commitment. He comes from a broken home. Marissa Castillo: Yes. I wonder I wonder what age they divorced. Cause it kinda gave that they divorced later on in his life, which is why he asks, So how did you two rekindle things? I don't think he'd ask that if it were something that happened when he was smaller. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Although it does give a joke that Lorenzo would make every time he sees the two of them in the se same room. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: You two haven't rekindled things, have you? I like that his mom called him out. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, well she knows her son. Gillian Griffin: She was like, I will don't treat these people like this. I was like And he went, what? What? She's like, nothing, but I could tell when you were getting not bored, but you know, bored. Marissa Castillo: Lorenzo. Itchy feet, I think she said. Gillian Griffin: Yes, itchy feet. Just getting a what are we gonna do? What are we gonna do? also Yulia's friend calling out Lorenzo's business plan? Marissa Castillo: I didn't hear that part. Gillian Griffin: I think he came in here the nut you didn't hear it? Marissa Castillo: No. Gillian Griffin: my gosh, he said, I think he came in here to make contacts and connections, and then he didn't expect you to came in and his whole business plan went out the window. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, yeah, I remember her saying that. Gillian Griffin: Girl ate him up Ate him up. Marissa Castillo: So what? Yulia's in there for the same fucking thing. What? Gillian Griffin: Bye. but yeah, their interaction was actually so short. I feel like both their conversations with their parents were one minute long, or with their friends and family was one minute long. Then they met each other and then it was over. When I had looked at the time left on the episode, and before I remembered Kevin and Aiden were brothers, I was like, they're sending Kat Aiden's family in now for just him. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm mm. No, ma'am. Gillian Griffin: Ha ha ha Marissa Castillo: That's not how that works. Gillian Griffin: They're brothers. They have the same family. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I wonder if if Kevin's Gillian Griffin: This explains why they didn't kick Ethan out before family day. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I wonder if Kavan's twin sister will come. I would love to see what that looks like. Gillian Griffin: I think so. They were sitting with a mom and and a sister is what it looked like. Marissa Castillo: there. Gillian Griffin: I thought. also Lorenzo's dad is a famous bouncer and celebrity bodyguard. Marissa Castillo: He looked familiar. Gillian Griffin: He has been Ecken Sue's bodyguard before, apparently. That's what the that's what the streets are saying. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, he just looks like someone I would see like in a movie. Marco. Yes. Gillian Griffin: Mm, fair bodyguarding. so yeah, and then I also want to know I was like, what do the producers know that we don't know that they have shown like exactly th three and a half, four minutes of Lorenzo and Yulia's family compared to everybody else? I was like, what's going on? What's up with that? That time is not divided evenly at all. Marissa Castillo: No. Gillian Griffin: I suspect something is afoot. Marissa Castillo: I think something is a knee. Gillian Griffin: I'm sorry what? Marissa Castillo: Ani. Gillian Griffin: Good. Very good. Very good. Well, I suspect something is an ankle shin thigh. Like Something's like does it work? Marissa Castillo: Okay. Ankle shin thigh. Gillian Griffin: anyway Yeah. Cause you took the knee. Calf? Marissa Castillo: I did. That's enough. Gillian Griffin: Okay, I'm not well. yeah, nervous for Kevin and Jasmine tomorrow, and that's the tea. Marissa Castillo: City I'm exhausted. Gillian Griffin: And you thought we had nothing to talk about. Marissa Castillo: I didn't really have anything to talk about. I just kind of fed off of whatever it is you wanted to say. Gillian Griffin: Well then you talked and you had things to say. We found them. Sorry to y'all who've been disappointed by a G G heavy episode if it's just been me talking. Marissa Castillo: We hate you. I'm just kidding. Gillian Griffin: Awww Aya put that bag back on Marissa Castillo: my gosh, you just reminded me of my neck pimple. Gillian Griffin: Still there? Marissa Castillo: It's still here. I've just been really going through it. Can I tell my roach story really quick? Gillian Griffin: Your road story or your roach story? Marissa Castillo: Roach. Gillian Griffin: Roach. What happened? Marissa Castillo: I'll tell you, I if you guys have made it this far, you don't have to really listen, but if you want to listen to some personal stuff, here it goes. I'm dog sitting at this place and at this place at at a at a person's home and it's in a basement. And the place is not as kept as it should be. It's not as tidy. Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: And I woke up really early one morning to let the dogs outside. It's like 5 a.m. And I am met with a giant four or five, whatever. I was met with a giant roach, giant water roach. And it had to be at least an inch long. When I tell you, I have never sobbed harder in my life over this damn roach. Gillian Griffin: You said four to me, but okay. Marissa Castillo: It gave someone broke my heart, put it in a blender and fed it to me. I was on FaceTime with my mom sobbing. If you guys know that Kim Kardashian or whoever and she lost her earring in the ocean and she's sobbing, people are dying, Kim. That was me. I was Kim Kardashian, ugly crying on FaceTime with my mom and I made her come and kill it. I'm sorry. Gillian Griffin: The people are dying, Kim? You didn't tell me that Marissa Castillo: My mother drove my mother drove ten minutes to me to come and rid of Gillian Griffin: In the morning? Marissa Castillo: To come and rid of the roach. Gillian Griffin: I'm screaming. Marissa Castillo: Woke that lady out of her sleep and I said, I can't do this. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I don't wanna be here anymore. I'm gonna die. And I try I sent Gigi a picture. I trapped it under a glass vase so that I knew where it was at all times. Gillian Griffin: Just left it in there. Marissa Castillo: And left if Gillian Griffin: just left it in there, left the vase where it was. Homeowner came back and be like, just so you know, I caught a roach in your house. Is it alive under that vase? Is it dead? I don't know. That's as much as I could do for you. Marissa Castillo: my, I was so scared the dogs were gonna like kick the vase over and unleash it. Gillian Griffin: How fair there are dogs. Marissa Castillo: Yes, there's two of them. So yeah. And s I have never I have I haven't been right since. And thankfully Gillian Griffin: This is why you gotta have cats. Cats will kill it. Marissa Castillo: Thankfully tomorrow is the last day that I am here and I'll be back to my room, to my lighting, to all these things. Gillian Griffin: Applause. General applause.
