Gillian Griffin: Hi, I'm Gigi. Marissa Castillo: And I'm Mimi. Gillian Griffin: And this is Love Island Tea Time. You kill me. Ooh East hot. Ooh it's hot. Hot the tea, it's hot outside. I hope everyone's staying safe and cool out there 'cause it's crazy. It's crazy hot. There's fires. Marissa Castillo: yeah. It's crazy hot. There's fires. There's Mercury retrograde happening. It's there's sinkholes and I think the purpose of life is to know yourself, love yourself, trust yourself and be yourself. Gillian Griffin: There's sink holes? Marissa Castillo: Yogi tea bag. Gillian Griffin: was beautiful just really shocked me and then I got uncomfortable and laughed. Marissa Castillo: That's okay. Gillian Griffin: It just came so out of left field for me. I'm delirious. It's fine. It's totally fine. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Feeling all the feels I feel. Gillian Griffin: sweet thing I'm sure Marissa Castillo: Anyone else? Let us know if you feel the Mercury retrograde feels, please. Is I just need to know if anyone else is crashing out. Please, and thank you. Gillian Griffin: I mean the heat does that to all of us. I got into work yesterday and was ready to rip someone a new one and was just like, bring it down, 8,000 notches, be calm, and just be cool. And just say, Hey, this thing happened. I'm concerned about it. And then move on from there. And I preface it with, I'm just really annoyed. It's so hot. And I'm trying to keep it together. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: So here we are now. I don't know about you, but this real this episode, sorry, I don't know about you, but this episode really changed me on a lot of people. I'm not a full-blown stan of a bunch of people that I was really on the fence of, but I'm I'm more feeling more forgiving and more open to. Marissa Castillo: I get it. Gillian Griffin: to being mildly supportive. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, okay. So you're jumping on the bandwagon here. Gillian Griffin: What bandwagon? Marissa Castillo: I mean, I feel like I was feeling more supportive. I mean, for more forgiving and a little more supportive last time we spoke. Gillian Griffin: Okay. Okay, okay. Well, yeah, I mean I I would say more that we're on the same page than on anybody else's bandwagon. I think there were a lot of apologies this episode. I think people are being a little bit more I don't know. I also just hope some people are gonna give the Islanders some more grace too, because I mean it's the last week. We're about to get family day coming up, which I'm so excited about. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Maybe. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: the game was fun. Nobody did terribly. So get into it. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: kind of it basically kicked off right with Jasmine and Aiden apologize Aiden apologizing to Jasmine. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Very big of him. I was surprised. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Well, I think with the way that he's been acting, I'm not surprised. And with the way that Kavan has been standing up for Jasmine and their relationship especially, I think if there's any good quality about Aiden is he eventually can come to the conclusion that he was wrong. Gillian Griffin: Eventually. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: I still am not a fan of him as a significant other or someone seeking love, I don't think, or the way that he bigs boys up to do dumb, dumb, dumb things. But he seems to be coming around. And yeah. And Jasmine said she feels like he's on her side too. So as long as Jasmine feels that way, then I'm cool. I'm cool. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Seemingly Me too, because she did make a good point of at least he has he at least your brother does know me and I have one person not like in your family sort of on my team of like, I know how she moves. I know like I've seen their relationship grow. So hopefully he does do that. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and yes, and actually 24-7 in there, not just an edit where you see because depending on the couple, you see 30 seconds to 10 minutes of their relationship per episode. You know what I mean? Like, you don't really get that much more. Truly. But yeah. Okay, Aiden. I mean Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Him and Priette might actually be really growing on me now. Marissa Castillo: I know. I know. They might actually be perfect for one another. Gillian Griffin: They might actually be. It's kind of gross. They're kind of giving me the like love sick ick. Like, you know, when you see a really cute couple and you're like, Ugh Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: That's how they're starting to make me feel. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I wish I could compare them to s a like a well known couple, but I can't. Like I feel like I know who they could compare to, but I can't put my finger on it. If anyone else knows what Gillian Griffin: man. I mean it's giving Sean and Lucinda once they started really liking each other, just giggling all the time, just just absolutely breaking out into peals of laughter all the time with each other, like so cuddled up and like borderline unbelievable, but Sean and Lucinda are still together, so Marissa Castillo: Maybe that's it. Exactly. We w everyone was mad about it and they nobody believed that it was real, but they are literally so coupled up. Gillian Griffin: I know. And then even the fact that they had that little discussion where they're like, do you think it was the heart rate challenge that made you like me? And then they agreed to go the hideaway together and both of them wore their heart rate challenge outfits, that's like sickeningly cute, like truly nauseating. Marissa Castillo: I know, and I it wasn't planned. Like they both I don't think it was planned. Gillian Griffin: N I mean not like that. He they literally the boys were just like, Do you reckon she'll wear the heart weight challenge outfit? Whatever, whatever. And they're I think she's gonna wear it. I think she's gonna wear it. And then she's talking about and then he's like, I'm gonna wear mine. And then I thought he wasn't actually wearing it because he went in his regular shorts and then he popped out of the bathroom or whatever and he was wearing the little hot pants. And was like, was he wearing those under like two layers of clothing? Aiden. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: And Priya was really nice warning Ethan, even though Ethan was like, You don't have to tell me about this. And she was like, But I wanna be respectful. And then poor Ethan, alone in bed. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I think I know. Well he maybe enjoyed the space, but I do appreciate her still taking that title as like we're in a couple seriously enough to be like, I'm gonna do this, just letting you know. That shows shows her character a little bit more. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah. It does. I mean, she's still she did something that was weird today that I was like, huh? And she keeps doing a couple of little things where I'm just like, I'm like, dunno, but maybe it really is that she's just meant misunderstood and she's like a super fan and it comes off kind of weird because she has a weird sense of humor. But I don't know that they're my winners. but they are surprisingly loved up and I Marissa Castillo: He's so w iffy. Mm-hmm. No. Gillian Griffin: am kind of a sucker for a Love Island story where it's like we were always you were always there, but it didn't click until later. Marissa Castillo: my gosh. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Ugh. Sickening. Marissa Castillo: I know. Well, I wish them the best. I feel like maybe that thing that turned you off might have been I have a frog in my throat. when she asked like she asked Aiden, what do you like about me? Was that maybe the thing? Yeah. Cause I I felt the same way. I was like, man, she really had me like this whole episode. I was like, she's on her best behavior today. And then she did that and I got I got the ick from it. Ick ick is a strong word. But I was like, mm, I don't like that. Gillian Griffin: There you go. Yeah. Yeah, it's just very like, come on, he's been all over you. And he even said he's like, You don't need me to tell it it wasn't like when Jasmine was with Lorenzo and she was like, You never compliment me or whatever it was in the beginning, where she's like where he was like, I don't think you should have to compliment your partner, and she was like, I do think you should compliment your partner. And he was like, No, you know you're hot. but then this is different, I feel like for sure. And I kind of like, girl. Marissa Castillo: Right. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: yeah, and also she patch things up with Yulia, I guess. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Gillian Griffin: I just need Yulia to stay out of trouble from now on. There's a week left. Just stop. No more drama. Marissa Castillo: All I have to say to Yulia is who's the strongest couple now? Gillian Griffin: It's true. It's true. But I don't think that I think the public thinks you know what actually I don't know really what the public thinks of Yulia and Lorenzo's a couple, because I feel like all the comments and tweets and whatever are usually about loving them individually. So I don't really know what people think of them as a couple. Their double date was cute. Lorenzo was being absolutely hilarious. Marissa Castillo: Right. Gillian Griffin: my gosh, I think I may have lost you. I will keep talking. but yeah, Lorenzo Speak, absolutely hilarious to double date with Yasmin and Tommy. And then wow, there's a second one of you. That's gonna be fun. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I was gone for a hot minute too. Gillian Griffin: Well, this is gonna be really interesting for anyone who is watching on video. something happened with Mimi's connection and now there is a frozen one of her. no, there we go. Marissa Castillo: It'll I was gonna say it'll probably go away 'cause it's that's happened with you in the past. Gillian Griffin: It's happened with me in the past? Marissa Castillo: Last last retrograde, remember that? And we were having all those techie issues? Or there was like a shadow period. Gillian Griffin: Yes. I was like, last retrograde was a while ago. I was like, we haven't been doing this for that long. what apologies to the viewers slash listeners. What was the last thing you heard me say? Marissa Castillo: Yeah, the shadow period. That's yeah. Gillian Griffin: She doesn't know. I was I was saying that the Yulia and Lorenzo, I've seen comments about them separately, but not a lot about their relationship. The only ones I've seen which are on Twitter, which I feel like is like more like our point of view usually. It's a little more like I don't know, like people are feel a little bit more aware on Twitter. Marissa Castillo: I wish I knew. Right, right, right. Gillian Griffin: and to see through things really quick. I don't feel like there's a lot of like Jasmine haters on Twitter, etc. but there I've seen a couple times people say they don't really think Lorenzo cares that much about Yulia. But this episode kinda had me feeling like maybe that's wrong. Like they had that really cute double date. Lorenzo was being certifiably hilarious. And this first thing that I thought, I was like, they're on a double date, but Lorenzo used to be in a couple with Yasmin. And then he's like, We had our first kiss up here. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Well, they were all able to laugh it off, which I think shows growth. Gillian Griffin: For sure. And it's it was pretty cute. I cannot tell a lie. I can't. Marissa Castillo: I cannot I cannot tell a lie either. He was feeding Yulia and I was like, look at him go. Whatever. Gillian Griffin: yeah, everyone's so loved up. Like actually they're so loved up, it's crazy. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Yeah, they are. And they were tr I feel like they were trying to really do something with that game producers, but it didn't really cut deep. Everyone was pretty much on the same page. Gillian Griffin: No. And usually it does, but I feel like they usually do the game a little bit earlier, though, you know? I feel like this game came up a little bit late. I think it was to help stimulate the conversation between Jasmine and Kavan, because that question has never been to my memory. Please at me if I'm wrong. To my memory, that game has never had the question of who was more invested. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: I I can't recall a time that that question has come up before. and usually they ask who the boy would be coupled with instead. I did find it very interesting that Kavin said it was between Lorenzo and Samraj. I want to know what happened with Jasmine and Samraj. So bad. should we go over the questions and answers in the game? Marissa Castillo: Yes. Yes. Sure. Gillian Griffin: All right. You said you did not make a chart this time, you just kind of wrote things down. Marissa Castillo: wrote them down in an organized way. So I have like what what the thing was, who's who and what's what, and if they got it right or not, like if they were both right or on the same page. Gillian Griffin: okay, okay, okay. so first question was about the girls' middle names, and then Yasmin couldn't even spell her own middle name. Marissa Castillo: I know. Tommy was like, Do you even know your own middle name? Gillian Griffin: They're like, that's a really unique spelling of Monique. There's no U in it. And she went, huh? But Ethan, respectful king, respectful king. Marissa Castillo: Well Gillian Griffin: He got it right, Samraj, Simba and Kavan got it right. Marissa Castillo: Lorenzo, I don't expect h him to know her middle name at all. But Saskia, I don't know where he pulled that out of. But that was great. And Tommy Summer, that's like the most basic thing you could think of. Gillian Griffin: Yes. Absolutely not. Hm. Yasbin Summer Who? Marissa Castillo: Yes, meant summer. Gillian Griffin: I don't I don't know anyone with summer as a middle name. I've never heard of summer being used as a middle name. If you've got summer as a middle name, shout out to ya. Cause I would have that's never what I would have thought of. I you you'd think you'd at least like throw Anne in there or something, like something really common. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Marie. Gillian Griffin: yeah, Marie or Anne, like I feel like those are like top two. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: let's see. Then we went through body counts. I only wrote down two. Did you write down all of them? Marissa Castillo: I wrote down most of them. I didn't get Tommy's. Gillian Griffin: Tommy's was like thirty or something like that. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: everyone else's I thought were normal Sephora Ethan. Is he respectful king? Marissa Castillo: That's why I went that's why I said well because that one I was ten toes down for you, but I lifted up my pinky toe with that one. Gillian Griffin: I don't know, they've had a lot of people on this show that have been like up in the hundreds before, like who are like, yeah, it's but whatever, but like also you know he's living in Dubai, that's like a vacation city. People are on vacay, lots of people you don't gotta s ever see again. Marissa Castillo: that's true. He's he's fit. You know what? I'm I'm sure you haven't seen this movie, but I'm gonna reference it anyway. There's a movie on Netflix now called Voicemails to Isab No. Voicemails to Isabel and there's a character on the movie or in the movie that he's like a life coach. Gillian Griffin: Okay. People you meet on vacation? Marissa Castillo: Or like a love coach, but he ends up being like one of the biggest players, and that's what it reminded me of. Gillian Griffin: Okay. Interesting, interesting. Yeah, it's just kind of the thing though, but it just depends on how he moves though, and also maybe he is the way he is now and he's so ready to settle down because he's had his era. But it's it's also hard to tell, like there's a w I feel like there's probably a way to be as a semi-respectful fuck boy, you know what I mean? Like I said, if it's if it's between like travel and it really is just like casual hookups and one night stands, then you know Marissa Castillo: Okay. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Pretty sounds like it would be pretty mutual, but like who knows? Like that's a story we'll probably never really have the answer to, except if any separate girls coming out of the woodwork being like, I know him, you know what I mean. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: and then Sam Raj only has a body count of nineteen. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: Higher than Lorenzo. But still Lower than all the other boys, right? Marissa Castillo: One of the one of the lowest. I mean, Simba had like thirty seven. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, that's what I was saying. It like Samraj and and Lorenzo had the lowest body counts, and I was low key surprised. Marissa Castillo: Well, Kevin said he had ten or eleven as well. Gillian Griffin: he did, erased it. I actually read recently I meant to actually confirm this. Someone I know, I'm so sorry, Belle. Although I'm not because I saw like on her Instagram that she posted, watching the season of Love Island, knowing that none of them could touch my crash outs. And I'm like, girl, sit down. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Don't deliver fake news again. That's not something you should be proud of, Belle. Sit down. Gillian Griffin: Y yeah, and also I think that Ellie had much better crash-outs, very respectfully. She had them all in the dressing room, except for one. Exactly one. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: Okay, okay, okay. Marissa Castillo: She's searching. Okay. End reading. Mouth open read. Gillian Griffin: She Marissa Castillo: Which she we're still talking about Belle. Gillian Griffin: I'm talking about Jasmine. I just saw something Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: that she had my god this has just brought up a bunch of hate was just pulled up a lot of hate to be honest and I feel ill. Anyway, someone mentioned that she's been celibate for like four years or something like that. Marissa Castillo: I thought I knew that. Gillian Griffin: I think she mentioned on the show and I just forgot it. But either way, she said she d she does I remember her saying on the show she doesn't like maintaining a roster or that she tried it and she hated it. So Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Right. Because they did talk about this already. Gillian Griffin: Partially, my gosh, and then the frickin' the list n thing came up and everyone was like, Let's stop, let's stop. Marissa Castillo: This body count thing. The lists came up. Honestly, leave leave Priya to be weird on her own. That's her cup of weird. Gillian Griffin: Also, I wouldn't begrudge a man who kept a list. Marissa Castillo: There are worse things he could do. Gillian Griffin: I mean physical tokens? Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: Literal notch like I think someone being just a number is more upsetting. I would be more upset to find like a tally page in someone's like little black book or something. You know what I mean? Like if someone was keeping track of women as n as a number, I would find more upsetting than them having a list. Cause also like in like the nineties and early two thousands, little black book, little black book, like that was a whole thing that people had, you know. Marissa Castillo: It is Gillian Griffin: A separate contacts book of this four iPhones, y'all. and a separate contact book of like people to hook up with or people that they had hooked up with. And so, like, that's been a concept for a long time. And it wasn't I don't think it was ever like a taboo thing to my memory, like the little bits and pieces I recall hearing about it. Like, cause I knew of it as a concept, never had need for one. but Marissa Castillo: Right. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, it's just I would I would be more icked out by someone having just a a page of numbers. Like if someone was just writing one, two, like if their notes page just like went up to like if Ethan in his notes app has just like one, two, three, four, like that would be gross to me. I would be like, ill. Like that's unfortunate. I think there was a boy who did have that on a couple of years ago in Love Island, Kieran. I think he had a notes app keeping track of the number of girls he slept with, and I like, Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: Gross, but he also was like supposedly in like the two hundreds. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: Nothing? Nothing for that? Marissa Castillo: I can't. That's that's I'm too stunned to speak. Gillian Griffin: Everyone was at the time as well. Everyone was at the time. Pretty sure that was season eleven. So like two years ago. Okay. then it was Who is the most popular of the public, which is insane. It's an insane question to ask them. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I like, what is this? What are you doing? Gillian Griffin: It felt so shady. Marissa Castillo: Producers. So shady, you're trying throw shade. It's not nice. Gillian Griffin: Lorenzo picked himself. Marissa Castillo: He's honest. Gillian Griffin: He's brutally honest, he's crazy. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Gillian Griffin: then the only other one I had notes about was I felt like Kevin's probably wrong and Jasmine's probably right because with the general viewing public of the show, he is more popular. And how he's pulled it off, I'll never really know. Cause honestly, I don't know. I just don't know. And then I just feel for for her. Cause like I said, I just try to Google. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Gillian Griffin: about whether or not she celebrated and like sa like already the things that were coming up were so upsetting. Marissa Castillo: gosh. Gillian Griffin: Like, is she a performative feminist? I'm like, can you just leave her alone? Marissa Castillo: Let's just leave everyone alone at this point. We don't have time for this. It we're coming to a close here. There's no point. Gillian Griffin: Just hopefully everyone in the UK gets treated a little bit better. Cause on the US people are deactivating their accounts. And I just hope on the UK people be a little bit more chill when people get out. Cause I haven't seen that happen to UK people before. They did, however, stop letting family members run people's social accounts while they're in the villa. So that is a th situation that has developed from Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: The bad social media situations, which I I don't fully understand. But like, you know, if if the producers feel like that's the best thing for the islanders, that's the best thing, right? Marissa Castillo: Right. Gillian Griffin: how did you feel about Mika and Samraj's answers? Marissa Castillo: Mika, okay. they both said Samraj, but probably neither of us. I felt like that was a fair answer. Mika's Mika's been more in the bottom than Samraj has, and it just made the most sense. But it was sad that you know that they had to sort of Gillian Griffin: For for the popularity thing. Right. Yeah, I feel bad for them. Yeah. Marissa Castillo: Rub more salt in the wound all over again. Like open up the scab, basically. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, ugh. Poor thing. Marissa Castillo: I know. But they're they're okay. I know they'll be okay. Gillian Griffin: They're okay. I think they'll be okay. I don't think they're actually that bothered about being that popular. I think they'll probably both remain popular enough. We'll both do fine off of this. One or both of them will end up on this year's n next year's All Stars or something like that. You know, they'll they'll be around. They'll do fine. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, for sure. Gillian Griffin: so then it was guessing which boy each girl would be coupled up with if they weren't coupled with their current partner. Like I was saying, that's usually the opposite way around. They usually ask the girls to guess who the boys think they would be coupled up with. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Angie said Tommy through me. Marissa Castillo: Through me too. But I'm like, okay, I guess. Gillian Griffin: It's like he's on your radar. I guess she also couldn't say Ethan. No one could say Ethan because he's single. It's dangerous. Marissa Castillo: Not even Ethan? That's yeah, that's true. And no one's really talked to him besides Priya. At least I don't think like that. Gillian Griffin: If I was there, I think I would have thrown Ethan a bone just being like, there's no chance it would happen at this point, but you're so lovely. Like, if it had happened earlier, I'm sure we would have talked and maybe potentially coupled up. Like, you know, like I think that would have been nice for one of the girls to do. And it they said it the right way, the boys would be understanding and would like that for him, you know? Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. You know who I think would have done that? Gillian Griffin: Who? Yulia? Marissa Castillo: Lola. Gillian Griffin: Mm, you know what she probably would have. Marissa Castillo: She gives that. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yulia said Aiden Shocked me. He's a silly man. She likes a silly man apparently. Priya said Aiden, not a surprise. Also, I think Aiden really escaped the doghouse with this one because he could have been in trouble with this game. Don't you think? Marissa Castillo: He's a silly man. Yes, but he was single and he was made the host, so Gillian Griffin: Do you know how long it took me today watching the episode to figure out why there weren't the same number of boys and girls? Marissa Castillo: Ha ha ha. Gillian Griffin: Kept counting the boys and counting the girls and being like, wait, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, one, two, three, four, five, six. And I was like, who's missing? For way too long. And then I remembered Ellie made it an odd number by leaving on her own. Way too long. Yasmin said Lorenzo, which kind of surprised me, kind of didn't. Jasmine said Lorenzo. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yes. Gillian Griffin: I was surprised she would write it down because I thought she would not want to write it down. And then I was proud of Kavan for saying that he regretted writing it down in which he would change his answer because he feels like it was put to bed and he shouldn't have written it down. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: And the Mika said Simba still? Marissa Castillo: I Mika said well isn't I'm trying to think. Did she explore anyone else besides? Gillian Griffin: George Marissa Castillo: god. Gillian Griffin: been so long. It's been such a long season. Marissa Castillo: My gosh, I forgot about him. Okay. Well, I think she's just, you know, she's the one that she Simba's the one she got to explore with the most along with Sam Raj. George was there for like five minutes and then he was gone. So it it made sense to me and then he, you know, he did he has been on his best behavior, so Gillian Griffin: That's fair. But again, I feel like this a was a great opportunity to throw Ethan a bone and just be like, I would but also maybe the one hundred girls threw th threw everyone off from saying they'd be coupled with him. Marissa Castillo: It w it definitely threw me off. Gillian Griffin: man. How about the big winner for everyone's love language? Or at least all the boys love. Okay, boys. Marissa Castillo: Physical touch. Gillian Griffin: When Aiden when Priya went, Yeah, Aiden, yours will be physical touch and he went, What it? Mr begs for a kiss every second? Absolutely. Marissa Castillo: Please. Gillian Griffin: Couldn't with him. She's Louise. Marissa Castillo: Simba was the only one who had an original answer, which was acts of service. Gillian Griffin: Well Lorenzo's original answer was he doesn't have one. Marissa Castillo: And that's very on brand for him. Gillian Griffin: It's so on brand for him, but he was also like, I just like everything. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. I can't pick one. Gillian Griffin: Can't why bother? but my answer would have been kisses for Aiden. I would just said his love language is kisses. Everyone in the house knows it. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Kisses. Mm. Gillian Griffin: The X question was so funny. Marissa Castillo: the one with Ant between Angie and Simba threw me off 'cause that was very specific. Gillian Griffin: Flute around the edges of my mouth, white stuff in the corner of his mouth. I was like, listen, amen. I agree. Yuck. Wipe your mouth. Yulia's? Marissa Castillo: Right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. a firm tongue? Gillian Griffin: what does that mean? Marissa Castillo: I don't even even I don't know what that means. I've never experienced a tongue that was firm. Gillian Griffin: What was yeah, too firm. Is is is Florenzo's tongue too strong? Is he just Marissa Castillo: Right. Is it like is it giving turtle tongue? Gillian Griffin: Yeah, like is he like really activating the muscles in his tongue like Marissa Castillo: Right. I don't know what ew. Gross. Gillian Griffin: Like what is this? Like that's such a specific strange ick. my god, Priya. The hype question. Or when she brought up hype talked for way too long. Way too long. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I know. Everyone was like, Sit just sit down, girl. You're done. Gillian Griffin: He literally said I knew and then and then Ethan, bless him, he just went he's like, I thought you probably would say that, but I just went for one of your general icks which was bad hygiene. He like, I don't have b bad hygiene, by the way. This is just something I know that you'd be grossed out by. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. Gillian Griffin: he has been said sweaty. She doesn't care. Marissa Castillo: She d but she doesn't care. That's why she wanted to couple up with cuddle up with Lorenzo. But he was like, No, it's hot. Gillian Griffin: He still let her cuddle. Marissa Castillo: For a bit. Gillian Griffin: Jasmine's with tanning beds sent me. And then Kavin's reaction to it also sent me. I was like, so you like tanning beds? Personally, I'm like, what do you need one of those for? I guess it's England. I guess it's England. There's not a lot of like direct sun to get you tan. Marissa Castillo: So Mm. I guess so, but that's just ps I learned too much. Gillian Griffin: yeah. And then the nail biting thing when she was like, Yeah, but you don't do it anymore because I've stopped you. Marissa Castillo: Exactly. Thank God, because I think that's an ick for me too. If you bite your nails Gillian Griffin: This is why I have to have a manicure. Marissa Castillo: Exactly. Well, I stopped biting my nails because I started getting acrylics. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I would I would absolutely if I could. I'm even crazy if if I'm like and sometimes it just bothered me, I'm I can be a cuticle bit or too. If I'm in a weird emotional place. let's move on. Mika said Samraj's feet. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. This game hmm brings out the worst. You know what? I and then they panned to his feet. They showed his feet, which I hope he gets paid for that. Gillian Griffin: Mm. They sure did. He's about to be on feetpedia. What is it? Weaky feet. Marissa Castillo: Fe Feet Finder. Gillian Griffin: my god, even more. Wiki feet is a page dress of celebrities feet. And I only know about this because of Love Island. Marissa Castillo: okay. Well, I didn't see a problem with them. They looked maintained. There was an episode a couple episodes ago where it was someone's foot in in the view of s someone else that was talking, like someone else was talking, but it was a f there was a foot in their flip flop. And I think it was a man. And that man did not have nice feet. And I I to this day think about who whose foot was that? 'Cause I wanna say it was Finley's. Gillian Griffin: Good luck to you, Allie. Marissa Castillo: It was it was the episode when Alicia came in and they went on the date. I'll have to look at it again. Gillian Griffin: Then probably. I don't know. and then they moved on to oldest person you've slept with. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: A bunch of very normal numbers here. Kevin and Aiden, what are you doing? What are you doing? Marissa Castillo: It they're Murphy men. Gillian Griffin: They're averaging an age difference of seventeen years between their oldest partner and them. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Sounds about right for the both of them. Gillian Griffin: Aiden said forty ish when he was eighteen. Marissa Castillo: It's giving mommy issues and that's why Kevin can open up emotionally. Gillian Griffin: my god. my god. no. No no no. No no no no no no no. You're taking turning me into Nickian Obsession. No no no no no And then Samraj also said forty, but he's older than both of them, right? Marissa Castillo: Ha ha ha. I don't know how old Samurage is. Gillian Griffin: Mika was also like, ugh, but she was like, I'm not that judgy about these things, so I don't mind that much. I was like, Marissa Castillo: He's twenty five. Gillian Griffin: Aiden's probably the same age, but I don't know. Who it's just I think it depends on when it happened. Right? Marissa Castillo: Mhm. I guess. But I mean, I c I have no room to talk. When I was nineteen I dated someone Gillian Griffin: yeah. Marissa Castillo: Like thirteen years older than me, so Gillian Griffin: And my facts are diabolical, so we won't even go there. Glass houses, baby. Let's just And that's a rock fact. Let's move on to the family and friends' doubts, which is also diabolical to ask right before the family's coming in and they're surprising them with family. Simba said wandering eye, sad emoticon. Marissa Castillo: That's a rock fact. They both did. They both put down the wandering eye, which I was surprised at, but Gillian Griffin: Samurai and Mika said overwhelmed and like commitment issues potentially, 'cause neither of them have had relationships. It's a lot of new stuff for them. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Mm. Gillian Griffin: I worry about them on the outside. I cannot tell a lie. Marissa Castillo: I do worry about them, but Sam Raj seems to have hope that it'll work out. He we I mean he loves her. He said so. Gillian Griffin: He is pretty obsessed with her. He did. Everyone is so loved up except for Lorenzo. Marissa Castillo: In his own way I think he is. Gillian Griffin: I don't know. Lorenzo said because Lorenzo's answer is the next one, which is doubt about serious, about being serious and his relationship history, and he did not sound anywhere close to thinking he could make Julia, yeah, Julia his girlfriend. Right? Marissa Castillo: Yeah, p yes, but that's I feel like that's just who he is. I feel like he's a really slow burner as a Libra. Gillian Griffin: I just think that she is on the she's she's fighting a losing battle. What? What? no. I just feel like she's fighting losing battle because she's gonna have some of the least amount of time with him and they're about to get out of there and he can run away. He can. Marissa Castillo: my god. Finish your thought and then I'll tell you. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: I don't know that she's his person, like for real, for real. Cause she keeps saying, he's more obsessed with me than he thinks. He you like me more than you think, you're already love with me. And I don't know if maybe cause he doesn't seem to fully respond well when she says that. and I think if anything is pushing him away, it's that quality of hers and that she brings that up. And no, I lost the rest of the thought. I lost the rest of the thought. No, no, no, no. Marissa Castillo: Yes. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I think if anything's gonna if anyone is gonna lock him down, there we go. If anyone's gonna lock Lorenzo down, it will be when he comes back for All Stars this year. Almost certainly. It'll be that he has to meet someone early and have like a full six weeks with them in Love Island All Stars. Probably. I think he needs more time. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Okay. Okay. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: And even then, good luck to them once they leave the villa. Marissa Castillo: Right. That was sort of to my point as well. Like I think he is a slow burner. I think he needs more time. except for when he was with Jasmine, I'm just saying. Gillian Griffin: Everyone who comes out of the villa says that there it's not like that, that they are just friends. Everybody. Fitzy and Lola said it. They asked, they asked Fitzy and Lola if they thought that Lorenzo was in love with Jasmine and you should have seen Fitzy's face in the clip. He went in love with her. He was like, what? He was like, absolutely not. He was like, absolutely not. And they were telling him about all the edits of Lorenzo and Jasmine, and they're like, my god, really? Marissa Castillo: Okay, well Gillian Griffin: So it might just be a friendship thing, but also things change, time passes. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Things things do change. And what I had an my god moment about was that I find myself in Yulia and I need to relax. I need to relax. Gimme ten. Gimme fucking ten. Gillian Griffin: Can I ask in what way? Marissa Castillo: In a way where let's get personal for a second, we can do that. In a way where I am speaking to a Libra man who is a also a slow burner and I say things I say similar things like she does and I'm like hmm So Gillian Griffin: my god. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: my god. Marissa Castillo: But I think you know where it comes from? So my gosh, am I understanding her now? What is happening to me? Mercury retrograde. Gillian Griffin: Whoa! You we're living through you having a breakthrough about yourself and Yulia all at the same time. She's about to be like downloading a VPN so she could download the Live Island app so she can vote for Yulia and Lorenzo now. my god. Marissa Castillo: Ha ha ha my gosh. It is it's more of a mindset, positivity mindset thing of just like being Delulu is a little trulu. Sometimes sometimes it's nice to live in a state of delusion and gas yourself up when that other person isn't gassing you up. It makes you feel a little bit more secure. For me and maybe Yulia. Gillian Griffin: Okay, moving on, cause I can't even begin to unpack that. Marissa Castillo: When's her birthday? Okay. Gillian Griffin: yeah, when is Yulia's birthday? Is she a water sign? Is she a a water sign? She's giving me Scorpio or Taurus? Marissa Castillo: Looking it up. No, she's not. You know what, she is a Taurus and I think I wrote that down somewhere before. Gillian Griffin: Psychic. Could feel it. Marissa Castillo: While you're more water sign than anything, they are highly intuitive beings. Gillian Griffin: That's right. And our powers are stronger when the moon is full. Is it full? I don't know. I don't know the answer to that question. Marissa Castillo: You know, there's a new moon on the horizon. Gillian Griffin: Anyway, let's see. Marissa Castillo: I hope you all enjoyed that midlife crisis I just had. Gillian Griffin: We're really sharing a lot of personal information today. Tommy and Yas both said each other, which I think is the correct answer. Marissa Castillo: That is correct, yes. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: That's adorable. Priya said Ethan is God just this was a humiliation retroll for Ethan. I'm so sorry, Ethan. Cause he also proved he learned so much about her and really absorbed it and he had like a week with her and she could not give a fuck about him. Marissa Castillo: Wait, are you did you say who's more emotionally invested? Gillian Griffin: I I was going through I said Ethan Marissa Castillo: okay. Gillian Griffin: Priya said Ethan and I feel bad for him. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: and then we have the one that really ran the rest of the episode was Kevin said Jasmine was more emotionally invested. And Jasmine's like, Mm-hmm. Cool. Yeah. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Totally. Gillian Griffin: That's totally fine. That's totally fine. I don't know, man. It's just and she br brings it up later, and we'll get back to it again later. She brought up that she was trying to like gas him up in the challenge, and she really puts a lot of work into making him feel good. And I'm just like, babe, I don't know. I just I worry. I I hope they can work out just because I want her to be happy. I I hope he continues to figure it out. Marissa Castillo: Me too. I mean he eventually does. Gillian Griffin: He eventually does, but we'll get to that 'cause I have thoughts, I have feelings, I have concerns. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Keep talking. I can still hear you. My microphone's gonna die. Gillian Griffin: my god, the microphone's gonna die. I just think it this game, because then now we're on to like winners and losers of the game. Mika and Samurage won. You guys and then Tommy lost. It's such a crapshoot when they do this game because the questions are really specifically geared a certain way, and everyone was just like laughing off. I mean, Tommy was not laughing it off about the fact that they lost. But Marissa Castillo: No, I mean he did in the moment, but he really didn't mean that. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah, he took it personally. He was sad. He was bummed out about it. but this is what I'm saying. Like, Mek and Samarch have been growing on me so quietly, like we don't get a lot of them. We get like a lot of like little bedtime conversations and when she's been crying about them being in the bottom and about Ellie leaving. But they do feel so strong to me and like how much they adore each other. Whether or not they have other building blocks like Jasmine said to like leave the villa successful relationship, like 100%. Also given that he lives in Germany, and she lives in the UK slash has roots and Barbados. Like that's that's some stuff to overcome there. But they I mean they won this game and they I don't think they really they didn't get one single question wrong, did they? Marissa Castillo: I don't think so. Well, this I mean the whole commitment issues being overwhelmed thing, that was like kind of on the same page. But otherwise Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Wasn't exact, but it was on the same page. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Let's see. Yeah, I think so. Go then. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, they do really know each other. They really know each other. Yes, Minatami and Asla feel like really know each other, but they just are different and they've also had less time. Marissa Castillo: That's true. Gillian Griffin: So, you know. And they didn't ask any of the questions the girls were expecting to be asked. They thought they were like, What's a favorite sex position? What's their biggest turn on? Like they're expecting certain questions that did not come that usually do. Marissa Castillo: It'll be okay. Right. And I feel like they usually the couples usually meet before this game to go over things and I don't think that happened. Gillian Griffin: Yes. Yeah, they didn't. Marissa Castillo: Okay. See I know some things. Gillian Griffin: It was kind of giving. You do know some things. It was kind of giving that the producers decided a little last minute and needed to rush to get them to play it. That's just my opinion. That they were like trying to like figure out how to get the Jasmine and Kavan thing moving along, and then they were like, knowing me, knowing you, we'll use this question. Get over to the fire pit. loved Ethan hanging with the girls after this. Marissa Castillo: Right. Mm-hmm. Exactly. I did too. Gillian Griffin: Yulia was the only one not hanging with the girls and eat it was all the girls and Ethan. He was like, Okay. I'm just clocked in as a bestie. Marissa Castillo: Exactly. Well, sometimes that's the best. Gillian Griffin: He may literally end up being one of the most slept on bombshells of all time. Marissa Castillo: Yes, I mean the a hundred body count is a huge red flag for me. But everything else is great. Gillian Griffin: I it it's hard to like live on that red flag when everything about else about him has been so green so far and we'll never know unless he makes it onto an all-stars or something, whether or not like what he's really like, you know what I mean, as a partner in relationships. But he he just feels like otherwise he is like so attentive. He remembered all this stuff about Priya, even though she was so clocked out the whole time. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Yes. Gillian Griffin: Attentive, caring, lovely, just seems like an all around sweetheart. Marissa Castillo: Has his life together. Lives in Dubai. Gillian Griffin: has his life together, literally came in there saying, I'm looking for my person. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. I'm here. It's me, Jessica. Gillian Griffin: Opposite of Lorenzo. Yeah. hit her up slide in those DMs, girl. He's gonna be out of there soon. He's probably out of there now. He's probably out of there tomorrow. Why not? What could go wrong? Marissa Castillo: I said I would. Everything. Gillian Griffin: The worst that could happen is he never knows. He never replies. Marissa Castillo: That's true. In my head though, I'm his wife. And that's living on delusion. Gillian Griffin: my god. and then they have the triplets hanging out together again. Marissa Castillo: triplets. Gillian Griffin: I can't handle seeing them all three in a row. It's really upsetting. Marissa Castillo: I know, but at least they're trying to you know, they're giving good advice. Aiden with his whole just jump thing. Like, what are you, a hopeless romantic? Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Apparently, now he is. I just can't believe but also I don't know, I don't know. I'll believe it when they're married. I'll bo I'll be a hundred percent for Jasmine and Kavan when they've lasted a year. You know what I mean? Marissa Castillo: I will not say anything until after Family Night. Family night needs to give me something and it will be like the deciding factor as to whether or not I believe that they will be successful on the outside. Gillian Griffin: It's true. I also someone, Emily, who messages on Insta brought up that she worries about whether or not they would align politically. And I gotta say, I don't know that Kavin can rock with how Jasmine rolls, or vice versa. Like, really, like that could be a problem. I did think it was really sweet. I did think he was self-sabotaging the moment with the way he was saying it. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: I think Jasmine was totally justified and I'm sure there's hate comments and stuff out there now that she's that's like she was pushing him and forcing him to and kept asking him to say it over and but you gotta understand he really, really sounded like he was trying to self-sabotage it. Cause he couldn't even just say, I love you, he said, I think I love you. It's this, it's that, some evasive eye contact happening. Marissa Castillo: I'm sure. Yeah. Gillian Griffin: It was and then he just kept talking and the talking felt like it was more geared towards what about how things not that they were wrong, but how he was approaching things wrong. But it just seemed like the things he was kept talking about were more on the negative side instead of focusing on saying the things he loved about her, saying, I'm sorry it took me so long. You know what I mean? Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Cause like they're playing this romantic music and I was like, this doesn't feel like it matches the tone of what he's saying until the like for the whole middle bit of it. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Mm. Well, I hate to break it to you, Gigi, but Kavin's a Libra too. Gillian Griffin: Whatever. So is Jasmine. Marissa Castillo: Right. Libra women are different than Libra men. Gillian Griffin: Okay, fine, whatever, whatever. I'm just saying I really worry about them. Marissa Castillo: He they's just yeah, I mean he's very much in his head. He's very much too logical, not emotional. I get it. I get it. And Mika tried to offer a perspective which I thought was I thought it was a good perspective. She's like, I struggle to convey my emotions, but you and Samuraj do it so eloquent eloquently. Gillian Griffin: That's true. I just My number one concern is that Jasmine is poised to become incredibly successful. She's at 400,000 and some odd Instagram followers right now. Who knows how many she has on TikTok right now? she has almost 200k more than Ellie. Marissa Castillo: wow. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. And Ellie who's been boy been voted favorite girls over and over. where have all of you Jasmine fans been, by the way? When the votes have been happening, probably mad at Kevin, let's be honest. I just think she is about to take off like a runaway train, and she seems business savvy. I don't know if you've seen it, I don't know if I've mentioned it already. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: I watched the ad for her fashion brand. Amazing. It was a really amazing, like short film of a girl ranting about this date with a guy and like the this dating horror story. And then when she finishes talking, you realize she's talking to an AI bot on her phone. She's not even talking to a friend. And it just like really like hit me. I was like, my God, I was like, this is really poignant for like. this era and like the things the girl was saying and you know I don't know that I love her fashion brand to be honest but because it's it's giving skims to me like it's very basics but good honor for going for it and starting a business but it just seems like she's really tapped in I I think she's just a rising star and I don't know in my heart that Kevin will be able to take it. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. I don't Gillian Griffin: think it's gonna be where were you, what are you doing, who were you with? Marissa Castillo: I think at his age, yes. If he were older, I'd give him more credit. But because he's so young, he is dating Jasmine of she's a different caliber of woman. They've already had issues. But they're in love, so Gillian Griffin: Bless them. Marissa Castillo: Bless. Gillian Griffin: It's I think it's really gonna be a test on him of whether he can handle it because he's given a lot of overthinking, insecure energy, and she's just poised to blow up like really big right now, and it's it's gonna be a the the most massive test for them. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Being on that side. Gillian Griffin: And especially also, I don't know that his ego will necessarily being be able to take potentially her being the breadwinner, you know, like the one making more money, the one having more appearances, the one doing better. Like I think that could potentially eat away at him. And I could imagine it really hurting her that he can't handle it. Like this like I could see her face being exactly the same as in the other conversations they've had. Where she's just would be like, What the fuck? Like But that's that's just how I see that going down, to be honest. All his past behavior really says that he'd have a hard time. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. That's fair. Yeah, and I mean he was again, planning Christmas in New York with Charlene, so Gillian Griffin: And that's the tea. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm.
