Gillian Griffin: Hi, I'm Gigi. Marissa Castillo: No Mimi. Gillian Griffin: And this is Love Island tea time. Marissa Castillo: violent tea time. Gillian Griffin: my goodness, it's been a crazy episode. It's been crazy for us, made me so sick. You look absolutely despondent. Marissa Castillo: I I am from the Midwest and I don't even know what that means. I got a CPS education for those of you who know no. Gillian Griffin: What? Marissa Castillo: I don't know what that means. Gillian Griffin: means either what does have to do with you being sick? Marissa Castillo: What does despondent mean? Gillian Griffin: Sad. Really sad. Marissa Castillo: We're going through a literacy crisis, it's contagious. Gillian Griffin: I was like, what is Marissa Castillo: You know what? Gratitude leads to love. I'm so sick. I'm so Gillian Griffin: What? Marissa Castillo: sick. I'm so sorry, everyone. Gillian Griffin: Despondent means feeling very sad, discouraged, and completely without hope. Describe someone who feels that Marissa Castillo: That's exactly Gillian Griffin: a bad situation will never get better and that trying to fix it is useless. Marissa Castillo: That is exactly how I feel at this very moment. Gillian Griffin: Related forms, despondency, noun for the state of low spirits. You just look really upset. Marissa Castillo: I ha my spirits are so low. Gillian Griffin: Well, they should get a little higher because as soon as the Patreon team approves us, our Patreon will be up. By the end of the week, we will have a Discord for y'all. Lots of things are moving along. It's all very exciting. and this week starts our first like topics podcasts on Saturday, which will be nice for people to have a little something different. I think. I hope. we're pretty sure we're gonna do like what lessons we've learned from these last two seasons of Love Island between the USA and UK this summer. If you have other ideas, let us know. I also just found an article about where every single couple from UK whose one is now, which I thought would be really fun to talk about. but yeah, let's get to it. All the islanders are back and Lorenzo is exclusively dating. Marissa Castillo: Yulia. Gillian Griffin: Sir Yeah. Sir. Same thing, I'm pretty sure. Same thing. What's the difference between exclusive and exclusively dating? What is that? Marissa Castillo: I think he was just trying to find his wording. Making sure he didn't mess up. Gillian Griffin: Mm, it's giving commitment issues. Marissa Castillo: Well, obviously. I mean Gillian Griffin: What? Marissa Castillo: It's It gives he's a Libra and a slow burner. Gillian Griffin: Okay. so we had all of the Islanders come back, but not actually all of them. For some reason, no Priya and Aiden. Also, we didn't get George, Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I notice. Gillian Griffin: because assumably Marissa Castillo: right. Gillian Griffin: he's banned, which I finally find someone breaking it down flick cross from the sun. And she's talking about like all the tea from the whole season, everything she knows. She said the reason why she thought it was sus that he was leaving a new couldn't have to do just with someone in his family being sick is because he quote unquote turned down going on after sun and turned down going on the debrief, which are the official ITV Spinoff shows basically that everyone goes on right after, and they're like basically required to. So it's really strange that he's turning it down, but then did an interview with her, and I think he did another interview as well. So it's like, why would he be turning that down? Confirmed Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: he used gross language, unacceptable language, but apparently in the article, she was like, the sun doesn't repeat slurs. But she said she can confirm that the nature of the slur, which was not. racial, so apparently he said something about women? I assume. Marissa Castillo: that's even worse Gillian Griffin: W Marissa Castillo: almost. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, like he must have been talking terribly about one of the female con contestants, I assume. Marissa Castillo: That's horrible. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, so I don't know what's going on there, but I can see why he's not even allowed back to dump anyone. Marissa Castillo: I mean I dump him. We did dump him. We manifested it. Gillian Griffin: We did. We did. We all manifested that. I just think it was odd that Pre and Aiden weren't there because I feel like usually the last the most recent couple dumped is usually there for this. So I guess they were just sort of like there's no room. Marissa Castillo: Maybe or like they were like, It's too soon. Gillian Griffin: I don't know, they c they they brought back that other couple the next day before. They also had the like bench extensions on the fire pit. I don't know if you ever noticed that before. It was funny. Very funny. I thought, and this will probably be kind of short ish because of it. I thought we would go in the order of least voted couple to obviously who was dumped. Marissa Castillo: Okay. Gillian Griffin: Send Angie, no notes. Marissa Castillo: No notes. No notes for them. Gillian Griffin: The other islanders must be seeing something in particular that, you know, at this point that they didn't even get one single vote. I thought they would get at least one. I thought everyone would get at least one. And everybody said, No, Angie and Simba, you're perfect together. Marissa Castillo: Which I'm like Gillian Griffin: And you deserve a place in the final. I'm so sorry. I forgot to say they switched the the question from least combattle to to who doesn't deserve a place in the final, which is weird. Marissa Castillo: I didn't know if I didn't know it was compatibility at first. But sorry to everyone who had to hear me clear my throat. I don't understand why Simba and Angie didn't get at least one because of Simba. Cause I certainly don't trust that man at all. Like he's weird. Like he's a weirdo. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: Not that he I'm not denying that he loves Angelista. I'm not denying that she doesn't love him. Just saying There's something about him that sits that doesn't sit right with me. Gillian Griffin: Totally understandable. Agree. Marissa Castillo: But yeah, I guess everyone's like, No, he's changed. Gillian Griffin: Apparently so Marissa Castillo: He's great. Gillian Griffin: has Lorenzo because everybody someone on on X said that they felt like everyone was babying and congratulating him for going exclusive. Marissa Castillo: I had the biggest eye roll just now. You you guys Gillian Griffin: About peep. Marissa Castillo: yeah, I mean no, I'm just you guys are applauding him for going Gillian Griffin: Mm. Marissa Castillo: exclusive the last week of the show. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, there's no one there. There's no one there to try and date otherwise. Like Marissa Castillo: Right. I just Gillian Griffin: is really odd. And you know, everyone's like, my God, you come so far. You've got an exclusive. Da-da-da-da-da. Yulia's Hinch women were picking her up real big. Yulia had to make sure and Marissa Castillo: they're so annoying. Gillian Griffin: jump in when Tommy wasn't even actually talking about her couple, but started talking about her couple because Samraj accused him of, you know, looking out for his friends, which he probably was. And she's thank you for saying that, Tommy. Like, jumped in. I'm like, girl, I just think that it's wild that only two people picked them. Yulia brushed it off like you were always gonna pick us, it doesn't matter. But their reasoning and logic was completely sound. Lola said they see not they, but Yulia usually seems to be more involved in other people's business than focusing on her couple, which is concerning. And Fitzy said, There are four couples here who said, I love you, who are making plans to move. Da You guys are exclusive. You're Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: planning to continue to date. Like Marissa Castillo: Right. Gillian Griffin: some people here are really saying that they're gonna be distraught if they break up. They really simple saying he never wants to ever lose Angie. You know, comparatively to me, I think they're the weakest couple. Marissa Castillo: I agree. I agree. Gillian Griffin: It's crazy. Marissa Castillo: But everyone loves them. So it is what it is. Gillian Griffin: Apparently Marissa Castillo: And I did like Charlene and Alicia just sit sit down. Sit down and shut your mouth. Charlene went there with the intention of expressing how hurt she was. No one cares, babe. Gillian Griffin: I mean, listen, I was rereading her exit interview on The Sun. Guys, I got a script subscription to The Sun to get y'all tea. I just want you to know. I gave a British newspaper company £1.99 to get into all their articles that you can't get into otherwise and see these interviews. I just want you to know I did that for you. Consider joining our Patreon once it's up. Anyway, I was reading her exit interview with not exit interview, but you know, she got interviewed by the son, and she was saying that, you know, this is where she said the he invited her to New York for Christmas and like certain things that he was saying, and like how shocked she was to learn that Jasmine was such a big thing. But I think he really did fuck her over. But I do think Her beef should be with Kavan, and it seems like it's always about Jasmine. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I mean, nowhere in her explanation did she say Kevin did this and Kabid didn't that. I mean, like briefly, I think she said switch up was weird or whatever. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: But she had beef more beef with the girls than she did with the person she should actually have a problem with. You're talking about Mika. You're talking about Jasmine. And I'm so glad Jasmine didn't apologize. honestly. She's just like Gillian Griffin: She did it. She went, she went I do that all the time. She's like, that's just the way it is, which is borderline, like, girl, I don't know if you want to say that you constantly mimic people, but okay, whatever. Also, don't apologize. That's fine. As long as you're like, I did what I did, I'm not gonna get on soapbox and do an apology tour. That's fine. Respond, girl. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I don't expect her to apologize because at the end of the day, I don't think she did anything wrong. She c she could have been so horrible to Charlene and she wasn't. She sat down, she had discussions with her, she said nothing but nice things about Charlene. And she was she was sad that Kavan was, you know, quote unquote running it back, but she was gonna let it happen and she was gonna leave. If sh she wanted Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: to cause issues, she would. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Meanwhile Charlene said there's I could give you a thousand reasons not to go back to Jasmine. Marissa Castillo: And that's Gillian Griffin: Meanwhile, Charlene's best friend immediately called Jasmine a bitch, but Mika has to do an entire press tour for saying, I can't believe he brought that girl back. Marissa Castillo: Right, and she got a bad at Gillian Griffin: Hello? Marissa Castillo: it for laughing at Priya's comments about Alicia. Gillian Griffin: Which I think the Mika laughs at literally everything. Marissa Castillo: I mean, she's just I would too. I'm I'm that's just Gillian Griffin: But th and I don't I don't mean that like she laughs, she thinks everything's funny. I mean Mika is a nervous laugher. Like she is a very like vocal person. She shrieks and she laughs like all the time, constantly about everything. When George and Marissa Castillo: It's true. Even Gillian Griffin: Yasmin were gonna dump somebody, I remember Mika Jasmine read out the text or someone read out the text saying like, S your the other the two bombshells have been keeping something from you or whatever. And Mika went, and Jasmine went, I don't think it's funny, babe. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: And Mika was like, yeah. Like she she's a nervous laugher. I totally like don't I don't blame her. So am I. Marissa Castillo: I mean she's a nervous talker. Even when she speaks, you can hear like shaking in her voice. She I think she's just a nervous person in general. I think being in the villa was really out of her comfort zone and Gillian Griffin: Yes. Marissa Castillo: she did make it a really long time. and I mean, I'm proud of her, either way. Gillian Griffin: Same. Same. yeah, Charlene, I just think there's there's been a lot of talk, at least on the Twitter sphere, about how Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: much how male center this season of Love Island has been. Even apparently Lorenzo is Lorenzo's p positioned to be the biggest star from the season. So they think apparently someone from Vogue is talking well on him and saying that like he has Vogue's blessing. Like it's Crazy. And then it's just like everything is the girl's fault. And I just someone jumped in our comments on the video of Jasmine being sad, like talking about how she felt about Kavan and the Costamour coupling. Someone jumped in the comments and was like, if you can't see that Jasmine instigates absolutely everything and starts so many fights and I was like, What? And then at one point I was like, Well. She was like, she's the main cause of trauma. And I was like, Well, if she is, then so is Julia. Like, so I'm just gonna jump Marissa Castillo: Yulia Gillian Griffin: on a limb. Yulia, sorry. I literally have to write her name with a Y to remind myself to say it Marissa Castillo: So do I. Gillian Griffin: correctly. Like, that's just facts. I know I'm spelling it wrong, but I'm saying it correctly. And this is a podcast. but I didn't say it correctly just now. But then you jump jumps in the comments, like, just gonna assume that you're a fan of Julia. And yeah, I'm just like, well, if Jasmine's starting a bunch of fights and instigating, then Yulia is definitely doing it. And then they went on some other rant and they were like, I can't help you. And I was like, no, I can't be helped. Just like, what are we doing? Like, what are we doing? Like the scrutiny, the absolute scrutiny and micro lens that all the brown women on Love Island have been held under. Marissa Castillo: Uh-huh. Except for Angie. Gillian Griffin: is crazy. Except for Angelista, because she's quote unquote boring. She's quote unquote boring what people think, but she's been getting a bad edit as as well, editing out most of the stuff where she her personality showing and like everyone's come out and said she's hilarious. She passed out on the floor when Casa Moore happened. It's like Marissa Castillo: She is we we got little tidbits of her personality for sure. You know who I think got a not a bad edit, but maybe like more of a ghost edit was Vika and Samuraj, which we can talk about more when we get to them. But Gillian Griffin: Absolutely. Marissa Castillo: I don't think it really helped their case. Gillian Griffin: No, I don't. so our on the Jasmine and Kavan train was Mara. I was surprised, but I think Mara was speaking facts and looking out for Jazz because she said it was Mara and Cheedy. Let me just get that out of the way. Mara brought up that him saying he got a spark back, it's a happy says he's been Tina. Pulled him up on the sleepover shit. And he was like, What did I do then? And I'm like, You said you would sleep with her. Like Marissa Castillo: I know, I really wish Tina had spoken up more and been like, Well, he said this to me. Mara was speaking facts. She put it very nicely of like they have to really learn about one another. And it's the truth. You guys they don't know each other yet at all. They think they do, but they don't. Gillian Griffin: I just I just worry. I worry because apparently there's another brother. There's a third Murphy boy. he was on Tyreek Hyde's stream and the twin sister was like, yeah, I don't think you like Jasmine very much, do you? But like that's fine. And he's like, Yeah, she's not my cup of tea. And you're like, But you know, Kavan can maybe say that about my girl. And I'm just like, Help this family. I don't know how this is gonna go. Like I I could just already predict that even if the mom and the sister are on Jasmine's side, I was like, I doubt the brothers and the dad really are. And it's still gonna be hard. And that sucks for her. And someone wrote a little essay on Twitter going, you know, Kavin's gonna mess up Jasmine's opportunities because he's gonna freak out every time she's gone out. She has to like stay home and make sure he feels secure. And I'm like, I just hope she doesn't Totally fall into that. Marissa Castillo: Yeah, I hope that on the outside she remembers who she is, hopefully with having her friends. I I'm listening Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: I love you, Bella, but you didn't do what I wanted you to do. So I'm Gillian Griffin: No. Marissa Castillo: looking to her friends now to be like, What are you doing with this child, this man child? Because Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: he's dimming your light. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Look at your friends to the second he's she starts trying to stay home or not do stuff because of him, to be like, this is crazy. To be like, this is what we would expect you to be like 20 years ago, not today. It's 2026. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: You can go out with your friends and he shouldn't be freaking out. He should trust you and shouldn't be freaking out and convinced that stuff is happening that isn't happening. That's just facts. Marissa Castillo: Right, but he'll wanna be able to have the freedom of going out and being trusted, even though he's the one who moves so weird as soon as he's out of the main villa. Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Marissa Castillo: Like he moves like a frat boy. Gillian Griffin: He does. He really does. He's so laddie. He's such a lad. Chudie said j Kav and Jasmine as well and said things went smooth, but he worries about their power dynamic and it was cost some more. And it was like, and they were like, We don't think it's gone smooth at all. And what are you talking about? Power dynamic. I'm like, listen, we kind of know what he's talking about. But apparently he has beef with Tyreek and Tyreek X Islander, he streams watching every single episode since he's been off the show. Tyreek and him apparently have beef and Tyreek really likes Jasmine. Marissa Castillo: please. Gillian Griffin: So some people were like, did Cheaty just pick Jasmine and Kavan because he's got beef with Tyreek? Marissa Castillo: To be honest, Gillian Griffin: Hilarious. Marissa Castillo: Chitti was so irrelevant to me, I forgot who he was and his name. Gillian Griffin: I my god, I couldn't remember his name for the longest time when he got up there. I was like, I know it's in here somewhere. I know it's Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: in here somewhere. It was Chitty and then who else could I not remember their name for a while? I remembered Hallie right away because Marissa Castillo: Hallie. Is it Hallie? Gillian Griffin: yeah. Martha. I think Martha, I was staring at her for a second. and Fenley. Couldn't remember Fenley's name. Couldn't remember Femley's name. Marissa Castillo: got Finley too and he just left like a couple of days ago. Gillian Griffin: I know. but I think the consensus with Jasmine is Cat and Kevin was like the Kassa Moore thing mainly was what had people going like, hmm but then I would say, why didn't a vote like that come Simben Angie's way and why were there no logistics questions for Jasmine when she apparently lived in Dubai part of the time, like I think someone said might have said lifestyle something like Mara or someone, but still like you'd think they'd get another vote based on lifestyle or logistics when some other couples got a lot. Another couple got a lot based on that. So but moving on, the next mo the next most votes were Yasmin Tommy, they got Six votes is double Jasmine and Kavan. It was Opie, Sam, Tina, Victoria, Mibs, and Ellie. And it was all completely based on whatever is going on with Tommy and his ex situation. Every single person, there's not one single other reason they had for it. and they're s saying they don't deserve to be in the final because he left his ex two weeks before coming on the show. What he explained did sound like what you thought though. You said you thought they were Marissa Castillo: That's what I said. Gillian Griffin: like broken up on a break, kind of tried to see each other again, then he fully cut it off two weeks before. Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, Marissa Castillo: But Gillian Griffin: that's what it sounded like you saying, right? Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Like I they he said they officially broke up in December. They then he's like then we tried to, you know, work it out on and off and I said, and that's what I thought like it gave like situationship where they were kind of seeing each other but not in a committed relationship and it just wasn't enough for h maybe either of them to feel like they could commit to one another. Then finally He got a second opportunity to come on the show and he was just like, You know what? I'm actually gonna go for it this time because I wanna find someone for me. So Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: it doesn't it still doesn't sound good, but I do think maybe Gillian Griffin: No. Marissa Castillo: the emotional connection wasn't as strong in a situationship. You kind of do use it for the physical, so maybe he was still involved with her physically. Gillian Griffin: Yes. Marissa Castillo: but emotionally I think he was checked out for a while, not defending him, not saying what he did was right, because I don't think it's Gillian Griffin: Mm-hmm. Marissa Castillo: right. But I do see how yeah, yeah. Gillian Griffin: The logistics. yeah, I think I'm of two minds on this one. It does seem a little sus. If anything, he was emotionally out of it for a while. And then, you know, like he said, he's like, I'm gonna finally focus on me, which like, sure, fine. That that that tracks then. But also A lot of the other islanders look real confused by the concept of being approached by the show. And I'm just like, did y'all have to fill out applications? Cause Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: it's a known fact that they scout people and they slide in people's DMs and go, Do you want to come on Love Island this season? So I fully could understand how they months ago reached out. He said, No, I don't think so. Maybe another time. Like I'm in a relationship, whatever. And then that they went, hey, we're still looking to fill a slot, have a bombshell, whatever, whatever. And then go, Are you would you reconsider coming back? And then him go, you know what? Yes. So that's fully possible. I I just don't think. I just don't think that their connection is fake. I mean, there'll be egg on my face if it is, if they break up in a month. But also, this is definitely if anything is rocking their connection, it's this. And she said to him, if anything else comes up, like I'm out. Which is fair Marissa Castillo: Uh-huh. Gillian Griffin: enough. It's totally fair enough. I totally understand. but I think this this is literally the only thing weakening their connection. And some people are like, you said I love you too quickly, and I'm just like People move at their pace, they're around each other twenty four seven. And Yasmin and Tommy were literally glued to each other's size basically from the moment they met. Like glue. Absolute glue. Marissa Castillo: Mm. Mm-hmm. Like he literally didn't talk to anyone else. She didn't talk to anyone else. When you know, you know. I hope he means well and I hope that there's nothing waiting for them on the outside. And I hope that he's just been honest with her since this whole debacle started. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I hope so. I hope they've just edited out him explaining more accurately. And she just kept saying, you know, we know where we're at. We know where we're at between the two of us. that was the couple with the second most votes on to our dumped couple. Mika and Samraj, voted by Tommy, Marissa Castillo: We knew it. Gillian Griffin: Robin, Ethan, Alicia, Finley, Hallie, Jordan, and Martha. I just think you I just think that's a bandwagon. I think they know the public don't like them because I agreed with them. Marissa Castillo: Which I don't know why. Gillian Griffin: I feel gaslit. I really feel gaslit. I don't understand what Mika has done. That is so terrible. I know that Samurage is a little all over the place. The only person who I kind of agreed with said who said it was it Martha? Yeah, she said they kind of don't practice what they preach sometimes. Totally fair. Samurage can get up on a soapbox and really give a good speech. But then he doesn't always do the things he pipes up for. That's totally understandable. it's just like everyone else, though, was like, you live too far away from each other. Someone brought up who said that they only wanted to be only said they were in love because of Maya. Robin. Marissa Castillo: Robin. Gillian Griffin: My girl, you're letting me down. You're letting me down. I think to me, we had already seen them say I heart you. It's not like that came out of nowhere. Had just said that the last podcast cast episode before that happened. It's like, come on, guys, you're saying I heart you. Just say I love you. You know you feel it. And then Robin's like, I feel like you only said it because Maya made you say it. And I was like, No, I feel like they said it because they started. Talking about their feelings and were waltzing around it. And then Maya was like, guys, really. And then they were both like, because Samura said, like, we know that we we love each other. And then it was just kind of like, well, then it's just gonna snowball out, right? And just be like, Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: well, yeah, I do love you. I love you. Like, I didn't find anything wrong with that. I thought that was adorable that it took Maya knocking their heads together for them to both be like, Yeah, saying I heart, you stupid. Like, we love each other, we should just stand on. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I I had a point. I don't think they're getting enough grace for the fact that they've both never been in relationships and this is new to them. Everyone expects them Gillian Griffin: Off of that. And Mika is twenty one. Marissa Castillo: right and everyone expects them to move like they're twenty six, twenty seven, like they have some sort of life experience. They don't. They're trying to navigate all of these new things and I don't think That's taken into consideration. Getting back to my point about like the ghost edit, we didn't see much of them at all. We don't see any of their conversations really. But Gillian Griffin: That's their bedtime conversations, just their little mumblings before bed. Marissa Castillo: Right. But then people I think it was Jordan who talked about compatibility. Did the knowing me, knowing you challenge just slip everyone's mind? Like they won that game. Gillian Griffin: It did. That's what I'm saying. It's just very convenient. Samrance was giving a l- they were giving a little better, but like I it understandably better. Like it's crazy to have. But listen, granted, if you add it up, more people didn't vote for them than did. If you add it up, there there were six, nine. Eleven votes that didn't go to them. So at least it wasn't a total clean sweep, but it's just like I really thought, I really thought that it was going to be the last vote went to Yasmin and Tommy. They were tied and then they were gonna have Priya and Aiden come break it as a couple. I thought that was gonna be Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: the twist. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I could see that. Gillian Griffin: Like I was ready. but it didn't happen. And instead they just dumped this poor couple. Apparently they were making fun of me Con after sun last night as well for like reacting so aggressively about getting married. And it's like she would be twenty three in two years, like calm down. Marissa Castillo: She doesn't need to be married in two years. She she can date Samurage for two years and then live with him for two years and then be engaged for two years and then get married. Like it doesn't it's it sort of baffles me this narrative that we still have. I'm we're both in our thirties now and we're nowhere near marriage. I'm likely Gillian Griffin: Early thirties. Marissa Castillo: right. I'm more likely to be married than you are. But even then, I thought I was gonna be married at twenty four 'cause that's what society like embeds in your brain that you need to be married and have kids and have the house by the time you're twenty five. Gillian Griffin: also a Charlotte. You're also a Charlotte. Marissa Castillo: So it's just it's just like can we get rid of the narrative that we need to have our life together by a certain age and just embrace that not everyone's journey is gonna be the same. We don't have to all be married, we don't have to all have children, we don't have to all own a home or live alone. It's just not normal. Gillian Griffin: Also, some of those things are not possible. Like I'm literally just like the financials around having kids. I'm like, what are you talking about? First of all. Then second, I'm like, I don't know that that's what I want to Marissa Castillo: Biologically Gillian Griffin: Yeah, not everyone do it. Like just chill. Marissa Castillo: Biologically, that's not like everyone needs to Gillian Griffin: Also Marissa Castillo: sit down, stop coming for my girl's neck. Gillian Griffin: Literally. My bot that was also someone's reasoning last year was there was a girl who was like, after the baby challenge, was like, I did like I don't want kids. And someone was like, well, you're in this couple with someone who wants a kid and you don't want a kid, so that's a big deal. And I was like, calm down, sit down. That conversation happens all the time. People change their minds, also like relax. That being your reasoning on Marissa Castillo: Exactly. Gillian Griffin: this show, wild. And also, like Marissa Castillo: Exactly. Gillian Griffin: you have a what? Marissa Castillo: I was gonna say have a tw I have a twenty one year old brother who insists that he's not having children. I'm like, okay. But let me know if you change your mind. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, I mean it happened. I was I was convinced I was going I totally had that only child thing in my head where I was like, I'm gonna have a giant family and I'm gonna give them all the things I didn't get. And then I was like, how about give me all the things I didn't get? This is how I feel. Marissa Castillo: Right. Gillian Griffin: How about I have some extra money? I wanna be the cool aunt. I wanna be the cool aunt. And also like my boss brings his like kids to the restaurant all the time. And their poor mom, like she's just like The the two-year-old is c she's almost two. She's always like running away across the restaurant. The second I see her, I'm on it. I'm like, hey, cutie. Take her up to the host stand, break out the notes app on the iPad, let her call her and stuff. And then they're always like, Thank you so much. I was like, listen, this is why I don't have kids and plan on not having kids. Now I have energy for everyone else's kid, and I can be that extra person in the village that just takes a little weight on. And it's cool. And then afterwards I'm like, guess what? That's exactly the amount of time I was able to be chill with the baby. And now I can go have a glass of wine or something. Like, Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: just everyone's lives are gonna play out differently. I I genuinely think Mickey and Samraj are the most likely to last. Egg on my face if I'm wrong. Yulia and Lorenzo, please, please prove me wrong. Simba and Angie, like, you know what I mean? But I just think some of these people were clearly on a bandwagon. I think only a few people spoke really well. my god. Also, Victoria brought up the best point. The best Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: point. She said the guy should be more obsessed with the girl. Cause that was the other little thing was people were well, Samarch likes Mika more than she likes him. And then Victoria was like, the guy should be obsessed with the girl. Everyone says that. Like we Those relationships go a lot better when the man is obsessed with the woman. And she said, when the woman's obsessed with the man, it ends up being a situation ship. It's the way to go. It's the way to go. Let Sonaj be less in the sauce. I love her too. I think Marissa Castillo: Yeah. I love Victoria. I missed her. Gillian Griffin: I missed her a lot. She went too soon. I would have loved to see her and Sam play out. I think she spoke really well. I think Hallie spoke so well socially. She's literally like, I'm so sorry, I didn't want to do this. I didn't want to do this. Like she literally was just like. Please prove me wrong. That and that sort of the marriage thing. Fitzy spoke so well. Lola, I thought, spoke really well, considering that what's her name was ready, Yulia was ready to like jump up at her. But was like, was that good, Lorenzo? Was I calm? Marissa Castillo: Mm, you were aggressive, but that's fine. You can be aggressive and calm at the same time. Gillian Griffin: Absolutely. Also, just at the end Marissa Castillo: called passive aggressive. Gillian Griffin: like also at the end when Mika and Summars got dumped, I was like, Robin was like pouty face. It's like girl, what are you pouting for? You literally voted for this. Marissa Castillo: I don't know. I just I don't think Yes, I expected them to be voted off. Do I think they should have been? No. I So I wanna just say like Yulia's reaction to Lola and Fitsi I thought was just too much. I think if she was really the bigger person, like right. I think if she was really a mature person, she just would have said, I understand. And then left it at that. That's being the bigger person. When you give people energy and you give them a response, that's why Lorenzo didn't say anything. He knows. He's just like, I'm chillin'. I don't I don't need to say anything to these people. Gillian Griffin: Jasmine too, basically. And then she was just like, Yeah. And she would go, I see how it looks like that. And like, you know, I hope this works out. Like she never like said anything to the person and people's like, it's not personal. She's like, I'm not taking it personally. And she was so chilled. And most of the time she just let Kevin talk. So, you know what I mean? It can't and Kevin should have Marissa Castillo: Yeah. And she even told him Gillian Griffin: been defending himself for sure. Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Like one she even tried to tell him like don't bite, like don't take the bait. Just Gillian Griffin: Yeah. Marissa Castillo: just take it on the chin. I will say, Mika and Samraj have a big decision to make. Gillian Griffin: Dramas on the floor, and I really hope they do their big one. I really do get Lorenza and Yulia Marissa Castillo: So do I Gillian Griffin: out of my villa. Get them out. Marissa Castillo: I know. Gillian Griffin: Please, you're the only ones who know that Lorenza's been walking around going exclusively dating. You think Yulia's there for airtime. You think she causes a lot of drama. You're not, she's the only girl you're not friends with, like not close friends with, but people I saw an article that was like, fans think they figured out why. Mika was crying so much when she found out that they had a choose. And then I was like, What what secret thing could this possibly be? And they're like, We think she's crying because she's worried about public backlash from whoever she picks. Marissa Castillo: Well, if she picks Julian Lorenzo, she's gonna face a lot of public backlash. But you have to think about who truly, the question is who deserves to be in the final? Deserves Gillian Griffin: The couples that are in love. Marissa Castillo: right. Gillian Griffin: Who deserves to be in the final of Love Island? We have never had this many loved-up couples. I swear to God. Usually it's like one couple going into the final saying, I love you. I think that was in USA. Only Bryson Trinity had said, I love you. No one else had said I love you. You know what I'm saying? And then Marissa Castillo: Mm-hmm. Gillian Griffin: here we are, Love Island, UK. Five couples. Five, I cannot remember if Ellie and Finley said it. I don't think they did. But five couples, Loa and Sean, Mika Samraj, Jasmine and Kavan, Simba and Angelista, Yasmine and Tommy, five couples in one season fell for each other this year. Or claim to have, whatever. Maybe they're all scanning. I know. But five couples is absolutely unheard of. You're lucky usually to get one couple, maybe two, that say they're in love. So, in my humble opinion, quote Samraj, I just think that the couple that's not in love should go the fuck home. My microphone's not on. Marissa Castillo: I know. That's what I think too. Gillian Griffin: Uh-oh. Marissa Castillo: The whole time? Gillian Griffin: I don't know. Well, Marissa Castillo: Thought it was. Gillian Griffin: if my sound sounds drastically different right now, I don't know what's going on. I just saw that the light went off. My God, you've been able to hear me though, right? Okay, Marissa Castillo: Yeah. Gillian Griffin: well, at least sounds been recording. Apologies, apologies everyone, if my sound got weird and then good again. we're wrapping up anyway. we made it so long without technical difficulties. Marissa Castillo: So the shadow period. Thank you. Gillian Griffin: That's right. But yeah, I hope they do their big one. I hope they pick Yulia and Lorenzo. I do think it's crazy though that the final is tomorrow and we have no idea who the final three are. Marissa Castillo: I know. But I do feel like if there's not a couple if they don't pick them, I feel like maybe they'll choose Tommy and Yasmin since they're the couple that got the most votes. Gillian Griffin: Yeah, they're the they're the only other option. I totally understand the thing about Tommy's sus thing with his ex. I totally get it. to me, to me, the only two choices were ever Lorenzo and Yulia and Tommy and Yasmin. But I would have stood up there and said, I really do think y'all are in love. I think that you did make a mistake. I think that. Everyone's definitely already roasting you for. I'm not gonna jump onto that. And four couples are in love. One couple is not. And I'm voting for the couple that's has not said they're in love, isn't boyfriend and girlfriend, doesn't have anything but exclusive, which everyone knows it's a term we all hate and it seems sus. And I just, you know, that that would have been me. So that's that's where I'm at. So do your big one, Mika and Samura. Please make the right choice. Please. Marissa Castillo: Please. Gillian Griffin: Please. If they knock out like Jasmine and Kavan, again, I'll be like, okay, but damn. And Mika would never. Mika would never to Jasmine. She would never. Marissa Castillo: No, she can't. Gillian Griffin: and she wouldn't t to Angie either. She said they Marissa Castillo: No. Gillian Griffin: were the awesome foursome with Priya. So we'll see. We'll see tonight. sorry this episode came up late. Gonna try and get through like the housekeeping at the end right now. Set up top about the Patreon. It has not been approved by Patreon.
