I've not had this one, but looking forward to it. Chad, what about you? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Love stone. Gallery View: They didn't they just sell to Fire Firestone Walker? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like I feel like all the little microbreweries, if they get something right, it's not long before they're just like acquired, acquired, acquired. I mean that's true with most things these days, it seems, right? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: They didn't they just sell to Fire Firestone Walker this year or something? Dalton Audio: Yeah. Yeah. I feel like I feel like all the little microbreweries, if they get something right, it's not long before they're just like acquired, acquired, acquired. I mean that's true with most things these days, it seems, right? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Dalton Audio: You do something right, somebody comes up dangling a ton of money in front of your face and Yeah. Well you gotta Gallery View: You do something right. Somebody comes up dangling a ton of money in front of your face and Yeah, I'm still waiting. I'm over here. You got you got money. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: County firms. Yeah, I'm still waiting. I'm over here. If you got if you got money if you got Chris Audio: Ha ha ha. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: if you got money to dangle, you know. Gallery View: If you got money to dangle, you Chad, I said you gotta do something right to get that money. Dalton Audio: Chad, I said you gotta do something right to get that money. Gallery View: Fair enough. Fair enough. That is a fair criticism. All right. So yes. That's right. So I I just I told Chris before we got on, I I bought these a couple of weeks ago and so I've kind of forgotten what I Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Fair enough. Fair enough. That is a fair criticism. All right. So yes, that's right. So I I just I told Chris before we got on. I I bought these a couple weeks ago, and so I've kind of forgotten what I what I got. Those three things that I don't I've never had before. so this one, Loganudis Trooper, and it's it's West Coast IPA six point six, but it's check it out. You can't if you're listening at home, you can't Gallery View: What I got goes three things that I don't I've never had before. so this one, Loganudis Trooper, and it's it's West Coast IPA six point six, but it's check it out. You can't if you're listening at home, you can't Dalton Audio: yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Check it out, but Gallery View: check it out. But Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: it's got an Iron Maiden. It's got Iron Maiden artwork on the on the can. So created says created by Iron Maiden. So if you're one of the if you're one of the greatest Gallery View: it's got an Iron Maiden nice Iron Maiden artwork on the right on the can. So created says created by Iron Maiden. So if you're one of the if you're one of the greatest. Dalton Audio: Nice. Right. Chris Audio: Love that. No way. Gallery View: your most iconic rock bands of all time. I don't really see how you can't make a good beer. Really I they they have to go hand in hand. So this is what we're rocking with. I don't I did I did no research on it. I don't have any Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: your most iconic rock bands of all time, I don't really see how you can't make a good beer, really. I they they have to go hand in hand. So this is what we're rocking with. I don't I did I did no research on it. I don't have any Dalton Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: any background. I can't give you anything other than more than I bought it I bought the book for the cover this time. So we're gonna see we're gonna see how that goes. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Any background, I can't give you anything other than more than I bought it I bought the book for the cover this time. So we're gonna see we're gonna see how that goes. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: Nice. Nice. Dalton Audio: Nice. Nice. Gallery View: There's a lot to unpack there to be honest. Yeah. Probably. Chris Audio: There's a lot to unpack there, to be honest. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah. Probably. Dalton Audio: Well we had our Chris, you had your what was it? Your member championship, what's that called? Club championship, sorry, sorry, club championship. How'd it go? Give us a debrief. Gallery View: Well we had our Chris, you had your what was it, your member championship? What's it called? Club champion. Yeah, club championship. Sorry, sorry, club championship. How'd it go? Give us a debrief. Chris Audio: No. Club champ yeah, club championship. Yeah. You know, when the goal is don't embarrass yourself, it feels like the bar is pretty low. And I feel like I feel like I I feel like I passed. so I so three three rounds. Gallery View: You know, when the goal is don't embarrass yourself, it feels like the bar is pretty low. And I feel like I feel like I I feel like I passed. so I so three three rounds. Chris Audio: So we've got two courses at my in my club, south course and north course. Played south the first day, north the second day, and south s the third day. And I showed up Gallery View: So we've got two courses at my in my club, South Course and North Course. Played South the first day, north the second day, and south the third day. And I showed up like on two wheels coming in from a board meeting and I was 100% not ready to play golf that day at all. And it showed and I shot myself straight out of the tournament in like the first three holes. Yeah. So I went eighty-five, seventy-nine, seventy-seven. Chris Audio: Like on two wheels coming in from a board meeting, and I was 100% not ready to play golf that day at all. And it showed and I shot myself straight out of the tournament in like the first three holes. So I went 85, 79, 77. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Chris Audio: I was I was low on the last day. I think I may have been low on the second day, actually. course course was playing hard. Both both courses are playing pretty tough. it was just the first day, but positives. Gallery View: I was I was low on the last day. I think I may have been low on the second day, actually. course is playing hard. Both both cores are playing pretty tough. it was just the first day, but positives. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Right. Gallery View: So handicap is now sub five, which I lost. Here go. Yeah. Megan, we're we're progressing. I and I skewed a little bit on the higher end of like the club championship field as far as handicap. So I feel like I I feel like I had I not Chris Audio: So handicap is now sub five, which I love. We're making we're we're progressing. I and I skewed a little bit on the higher end of the club championship field as far as handicap. So I feel like I I feel like I had I not Dalton Audio: There we go. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Here's Dalton Audio: Okay. Chris Audio: done what I did and been really stupid for eighteen holes, and maybe maybe we could have accomplished something. got the driver working on the on the last two days. That was good. Brand new stick. It only hit it once. the recur putter was Gallery View: Done what I did and been really stupid for eighteen rolls. And maybe maybe we could have accomplished something. got the driver working on the on the last two days. That was good. Brand new stick. It only hit it once. the regrip putter was Dalton Audio: Right. Yeah. Nice. Gallery View: fine. Not great, but fine. And short game was getting better. But a lot of lessons learned. The company was really good, I'll tell you that. Played mostly with a couple of guys who I I didn't really know. And we had an absolutely fantastic time. So Chris Audio: Fine, not great, but fine. And short game is getting better. But a lot of lessons learned. The company was really good, I'll tell you that. Played mostly with a couple of guys who I I didn't really know. And we had an absolutely fantastic time. So Dalton Audio: Mm. Gallery View: That's kinda how that went. That's my golf life. Don, what about you? Dalton Audio: Nice. Chris Audio: that's kind of how that went. That's my golf life. Dalton, what about you? Gallery View: yeah, I played Friday a few days ago with a buddy and then my son and his son. kind of a modified shamble. We gave him three holes to start and I think we were winning after four holes. Maybe five. Like I just we won every single hole. It didn't take long. I was like, I should have given him like maybe fifteen holes. might have made it more fair. But Dalton Audio: yeah, I played Friday a few days ago with a buddy and then my son and his son. kind of a modified shamble. We gave him three holes to start and I think we were winning after four holes. Maybe five. Like I just we won every single hole. It didn't take long. I was like, I should have given him like maybe fifteen holes. might have made it more fair. But Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: No. Dalton Audio: no, we had a good time. I made it. Gallery View: No, we had a good time. I made it Dalton Audio: I'll so I hit the fourteenth T shot. It was fine. and then walking off, it's like an elevated T box. So it's like walking down the slope and just felt like a tug on my leg and I was like, Ooh, okay, like that's not that didn't feel great. And so like got in the cart, drove over to my ball, kinda got like quad stretch going, and like my whole quad started like like cramping, like seizing up, and I was just like, Yeah, we're gonna shut this down. Gallery View: so I hit the 14th T shot. It was fine. and then walking off, it's like an elevated tea box. So it's like walking down the slope and just felt like a tug on my leg and I was like, ooh, okay. Like that's not that didn't feel great. And so like got in the cart, drove over to my ball, kind of got like quad stretch going, and like my whole quad started like like cramping, like seizing up. And I was just like, Yeah, we're gonna shut this down. Chris Audio: Dude. Gallery View: so I think like in h I'm I'm trying to figure out like what went wrong. It had been sore for a couple of days leading into it. I had like flu symptoms two days before, like lost a lot of fluids. and it was a hundred degrees out when we were golfing. so I'm hopeful it's just like dehydrated, cramp, and that's like a weak muscle in my body, so that's where it showed up. it has been sore since. I did a little bit of like PT stuff tonight. Dalton Audio: So I think like in h I I'm trying to figure out like what went wrong. It had been sore for a couple of days leading into it. I had like flu symptoms two days before, like lost a lot of fluids. and it was a hundred degrees out when we were golfing. so I'm hopeful it's just like dehydrated, cramp, and that's like a weak muscle in my body. So that's where it showed up. it has been sore since. I did a little bit of like PT stuff tonight. And that was okay. Like it felt strong-ish. So I've got another round coming Friday. See how that goes. I'm gonna pull the plug if it if it's not good. It's not worth it. I have my member application round. I don't even know what to call that. Like pre-round, like to see if I'm a knucklehead and they don't want me joining their their club. coming up in I think that's a week from today. pretty much, yeah. Right? Yeah, yeah. Don't wanna fail that one. So Gallery View: And that was okay. Like it felt strong ish. So I've got another round coming Friday. See how that goes. I'm gonna pull the plug if it if it's not good. It's not worth it. I have my member application round. I don't even know what to call that. Like pre round, like to see if I'm a knucklehead and they don't want me joining their their club. coming up in I think that's a week from today. that's your asshole determination round is what it is. Pretty much, yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Don't want to fail that one. So Chris Audio: It's your asshole determination round is what it is. Yep. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. A D R. Dalton Audio: but in terms of playing, I was doing okay. I was playing fairly well. I lost, you know, I I think I was 13 over through 13. So bogey golf again. I hit a great drive on a short par four, and then where I ended up was this like down slope into the green. So if you hit driver, you can for sure like get near in and around the green, but it there's like a lot of trouble. So I hit a little hybrid and I was fine. It was maybe it's like 90, 95 yards out. So I was like, okay, I'll just do like a smooth sand sand wedge. Gallery View: but in terms of playing, I was doing okay. I was playing fairly well. I lost, you know, I I think I was 13 over through 13. So bogey golf again. I hit a great drive on a short par four, and then where I ended up was this like down slope into the green. So I was like, okay, I'll just do like a smooth sand sand wedge. Dalton Audio: And it came out, you know what happened is as I'm taking it away, the grain of the grass was growing against your takeaway. And so my club got like totally stuck. You guys ever done that? So like an inch behind the ball, I'm like taking it away. It's like like just totally stuck. And instead of like stopping and starting over, I was like, that's fine. And so I just kept going. Everything got out everything got out of sync. and it came out so low and hot. It like flew the green. Gallery View: And it came out, you know what happened is as I'm taking it away, the grain of the grass was growing against your takeaway. Dalton Audio: Out of bounds, couldn't find it. So that was a blow up hole that I was like, I was in like if I could have dropped a ball, I would have been very happy there. and then I was OB off number two. So that sucked. but apart from that hole, everything else was like pretty consistent, didn't make putts, but everything playing playing fine. So yeah, all in all progress. We'll see how this leg goes. That's kind of like the big the big hold right now. so. Gallery View: Out of bounds, couldn't find it. So, that was a blow up hole that I was like I was in like if I could have dropped a ball, I would have been very happy there. and then I was OB off number two. So that sucked. but apart from that hole, everything else was like pretty consistent. Didn't make putts, but everything playing playing fine. So yeah, all in all progress. We'll see how this leg goes. That's kinda like the big the big hold right now. so Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Your first like little setback for quite a while, huh? Chris Audio: You know. Gallery View: like little setback for quite a while, huh? Dalton Audio: Yeah, I've been doing pretty good on like managing it. So I don't know, like there comes a point with any recovery where you kinda have to like push through, you know, like it's like, okay, it is healed, but it's just it's weak or it doesn't know it. The the muscle fibers are like really rigid and you gotta make them more malleable again because you kinda have to like as a l a small element of pain to get through that. so I'm just trying to navigate like, is this that or do I need to like chill out and pump brakes a little bit again? So Gallery View: Yeah, I've been doing pretty good on like managing it. So I don't know, like there comes a point with any recovery where you kinda have to like push through, you know, like it's like, okay, it is healed, but it's just it's weak or it doesn't know it. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm-hmm. Dalton Audio: I have not done it. That was Friday. I've not done anything for like five days. taking it really easy. So today was the first day I did a little bit of PT stuff just to and it it felt pretty good. So we'll see. So little prayer up for me, please. Gallery View: I have not done it. That was Friday. I've not done anything for like five days. taking it really easy. So today was the first day I did a little bit of PT stuff just to and it it felt pretty good. So we'll see. So a little prayer up for me, please. Chris Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: For sure. But listening to you kind of like talk through that not so much the injury part, but it as somebody who's getting ready to join a club and is going through that process, it may be something that's interesting to unpack as far as what your experience has been so far and Chris Audio: For sure. But listening to you kind of like talk through that, not so much the injury part, but it as somebody who's getting ready to join a club and is going through that process, it might be something that's interesting to unpack as far as what your experience has been so far and and what that looks like in chat. Like you just joined one too, and I think you guys have had f reasonably different experiences. It might be interesting to unpack here for a minute. Gallery View: And what that looks like in chat. Like you just joined one too. And I think you guys have had f reasonably different experiences. It might be interesting to unpack here for a minute. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm-hmm. Gallery View: Yeah. I mean I can I can kind of get into where I've been. So I did I toured a couple of places nearby. the one I ended up settling on was closer. It was like seven minutes away instead of like twenty, twenty five minutes away. That that makes a difference each time you go. Dalton Audio: Yeah. I mean I can I can kind of get into where I've been. So I did I toured a couple of places nearby. the one I ended up settling on was closer. It was like seven minutes away instead of like twenty, twenty-five minutes away. That that makes a difference each time you go. it also was a lot more one of the important things to me, one of the the impetus of me joining a club is that I can't I've got four kids. I can't take them all out and play. Courses around me just won't let me do it because it's five. Gallery View: It also was a lot more one of the important things to me, one of the the impetus of me joining a club is that I can't I've got four kids. I can't take them all out and play. Courses just around me just won't let me do it because it's five. so that was like a big priority for me in this club that I'm I'm going forward with. They're like, yeah, if it's slow, like you can load them all up, just head out, it's fine. so I was very intentional about like what does it look like in practice? There are rounds. I've got a couple colleagues there. Dalton Audio: So that was like a big priority for me in this club that I'm I'm going forward with. They're like, yeah, if it's slow, like you can load them all up, just head out, it's fine. so I was very intentional about like what does it look like in practice? Their rounds, I've got a couple colleagues there. They finish four or eighteen in like three and a half hours. They'll do nine in like an hour and a half. so pretty fast play, which is nice. That's really appealing. Gallery View: They finish four or eighteen in like three and a half hours. They'll do nine in like an hour and a half. so pretty fast play, which is nice. That's really appealing. I've done a tour. I need to do my wife and I have to do a dinner. that's on the docket to like make sure we're good. the application process, you've got to know some members and then you kind of meet people. That's kind of part of the dinner process too. And then one of the th this this thing that's coming up is they require you to play around. Dalton Audio: I've done a tour, I need to do my wife and I have to do a dinner. that's on the docket to like make sure we're good. the application process, you've got to know some members and then you kind of meet people, that's kind of part of the dinner process too. And then one of the th this this thing that's coming up is they require you to play around with one somebody on their membership committee. So I'm going out with him next week. and again, I think it's just to make sure I can keep pace and I know the rules and I'm not a knucklehead and I'm not gonna hurt somebody or do something stupid. Gallery View: With one somebody on their membership committee. So I'm going out with him next week. and again, I think it's just to make sure I can keep pace and I know the rules and I'm not a knucklehead and I'm not gonna hurt somebody or do something stupid. so yeah, it's been pretty, pretty easy. I know Chris and Chad, you both helped me with like make sure you know like how they're set up and what their fee structures are like and all that kind of stuff and the questions to ask. but yeah, it's honestly my my feedback. I went into it not Dalton Audio: So yeah, it's been pretty, pretty easy. I know Chris and Chad, you both helped me with like make sure you know like how they're set up and what their fee structures are like and all that kind of stuff and the questions to ask. but yeah, it's honestly my my feedback. I went into it not having ever been part of a a country club or anything like that. and it was a lot less intimidating once I started it than I thought. Gallery View: having ever been part of a a country club or anything like that. and it was a lot less intimidating once I started it than I thought. Like going into it, I was like, my gosh, I'm gonna feel so out of place. These people are gonna be old and stuffy and just it just wasn't that way at all. so that was that was Maybe maybe you are old and stuffy and you just maybe you're the problem there. Maybe I am getting old and stuffy. That I mean my body feels old, so that's that that could be for sure. Dalton Audio: Like going into it, I like, my gosh, I'm gonna feel so out of place. These people are gonna be old and stuffy and just it just wasn't that way at all. so that was that was a a nice surprise. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Maybe maybe you are old and stuffy and you just fit right in. Dalton Audio: That could yeah, maybe I yeah, maybe I am getting old and stuffy that I mean my body feels old, so that's that that could be for sure. Chris Audio: Yeah, maybe you're the problem there. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, mine was mine's quite a bit different. Like we both had the benefit of having a a golf community HOA president as a good friend and Chris to walk us through the whole process. But yeah, mine was mine was nothing like that. There's actually aspects of yours that probably seem like a bit of a pain in the ass, but I I would have actually appreciated on mine. Like we mine's a smaller town. La Lawrence is like a hundred thousand people. So we have Gallery View: Yeah, mine was mine's quite a bit different. So we have two private clubs and Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: two private clubs and we just we just knew more people at this one so it wasn't a a huge debate for me but we so I would have I would have appreciated going out with a member, you know, first round this required round, whatever your your asshole detection round or whatever you're calling it. we we had the benefit my niece worked in the pro shop and she's Gallery View: We just we just knew more people at this one. So it wasn't a a huge debate for me. But we so I would have I would have appreciated going out with a member, you know, first round, this required round, whatever your your asshole detection round or whatever you're calling it. we we had the benefit my niece worked in the pro shop and she's Dalton Audio: Yeah. Whatever it's called, yeah. Gallery View: she's she's an absolute stick. So it was nice to it was nice to be able to go out with somebody and have her like Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: She's she's an absolute stick. So it was nice to it was nice to be able to go out with somebody and have her like talk through the course as you're as you're going through it, stuff like that. If I didn't have her, it would have just been like here's a cart, dude. Knock yourself out. So so that was that was that was kind of nice. But we had nowhere near the the hurdles and and things that that you have to go through. You know, it it's probably a different we're it's probably a different animal here versus LA or or Gallery View: talk through the course as you're as you're going through it, stuff like that. If I didn't have her, it would have just been like, here's a cart, dude. Knock yourself out. Figure it out. So so that was that was that was kind of nice. But we had nowhere near the the hurdles and and things that that you have to go through. And you know, it's probably a different we're it's probably a different animal here versus LA or or Chris Audio: Ha ha ha. Dalton Audio: Go figure it out. Yeah. Gallery View: or Hilton Ed, you know, certainly. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Or Hilton Ed, you know, certainly. So it's pretty i easy process, but but there there also wasn't a whole lot of guidance on the way through. So by like by now we've got the hang of it and and all that. But yeah, very very different, very different experience from yours. I didn't have to have dinner with anybody, so so Gallery View: it's a pretty i easy process, but there there also wasn't a whole lot of guidance on the way through. So by like by now we've got the hang of it and and all that. But yeah, very very different, very different experience from yours. I didn't have to have dinner with anybody. So so Yeah, Dalton Audio: Yeah, Gallery View: it's been it's been kind of cool 'cause since k since kind of starting this process, there's been I think three now Dalton Audio: it's been it's been kind of cool because since k since kind of starting this process, there's been I think three now. So that's that's it's taken me a little bit of time because of this injury. It's it's been kind of a slow play thing. So let's say it's been two months, maybe three. but there's like two or three connections where I'll I'll get referred it to somebody or somebody will reach out, hey, like I was talking to somebody, your name came up, and they're like, Can we get lunch? Gallery View: So that's that's it's taken me a little bit of time because of this injury. It's it's been kind of a slow play thing. So let's say it's been two months, maybe three. but there's been like two or three connections where I'll I'll get referred it to somebody or somebody will reach out, hey, like I was talking to somebody, your name came up, and they're like, Can we get lunch? And they're like, let's do it at this country club that I'm joining. And I'm like, are you a member there? And they're like, Yeah, I am. so like that's been kind of neat. that like I feel like I'm already Dalton Audio: And they're like, let's do it at this country club that I'm joining. And I'm like, are you a member there? And they're like, Yeah, I am. so like that's been kind of neat. that like I feel like I'm already on some levels getting like pulled into that community a little bit, amongst other professionals and kind of getting connected and networked into them. So that's been that's been it's been a welcoming community so far. Gallery View: on some levels getting like pulled into that community a little bit amongst other professionals and kind of getting connected and networked into them. So that's been that's been it's been a welcoming community so far. Nice. Cool. golf so golf wise for me not not much going on. Actually I I think this has to do with my all the changes in my swing, but I've kind like tweaked something in my hand. like my well Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Cool. gol so golf wise for me, not not much going on. Actually, I I think this has to do with my all the changes in my swing, but I've kind of like tweaked something in my hand. like my like my like well Dalton Audio: jeez. Chris Audio: What is with you guys? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: what what is with me what is with me is that I'm 48. So so like I'll I'll blow out an ACL just you know walk into the fridge. Gallery View: What what is with me, Chris? What is with me is that I'm 48. So like I'll I'll blow out an ACL just, you know, walk into the fridge. Dalton Audio: We're old, Chris. We're old. Chris Audio: my gosh. Dalton Audio: Sneezing. Gallery View: but court sort sort I think it's just like the way I'm gripping the club now is so different. It's cranking on different things that were never cranked on before. So I I played once last week and and played seventeen holes because there was Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: but court sort of sort I think it's just like the way I'm gripping the club now is so different. It's cranking on different things that were never cranked on before. So I I played once last week and and played seventeen holes because there was Dalton Audio: Mm. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: there was there was an older crowd, the whole the hole ahead of me that was didn't seem inclined to let me go through as a single. So I just Gallery View: was there was an older crowd the whole the hole ahead of me that was didn't seem inclined to let me go through as a single so I just I just went around. So I only got I did 17 holes but that that round probably like I as I've gotten more into golf I've gotten a little more I guess in tune with you know how it used to be all about my the best round I ever played was I shot X and now I'm like well Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I just went around. So I only got I did seventeen holes. But that that round probably like I as I've gotten more into golf, I've gotten a little more I guess in tune with you know, how it it used to be all about my the best round I ever played was I shot X and now I'm like, Well, maybe that might have been the best round ever. But I I think this one it wasn't the lowest score I've ever shot, but it was you know, you you're talking about the Gallery View: Maybe. That might have been the best round ever. But I I think this one, it wasn't the lowest score I've ever shot, but it was you know, you you're talking about the Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: how the handicap system registers that it probably was like I played played really well. It it it's it's knocked down the the handicap a little more. So I'm down I think I was at what I you guys at twenty one point eight in late July and now I'm a a seventeen and a half. So that's still Gallery View: how the handicap system registers that it probably was. Like I played played really well. It it it's it's knocked down the the handicap a little more. So I'm down I think I was at what I tell you guys, a twenty one point eight in late July and now I'm a a seventeen and a half. So that's still Dalton Audio: Yeah, that's that's a lot. That's a big move. Gallery View: Yeah, that's that's a lot. That's a big move. To Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: to be to to be Chris Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: be to be crystal clear that still sucks a lot. But at least it's not going the other way. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: to be crystal clear that still sucks a lot. But at least it's not going the other way. So Chris Audio: It's moving. Dalton Audio: Ha ha. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: so pretty happy with that. But but I didn't I didn't I've kind of been taking it easy on on the hands so I can get back out this weekend. But the other the other big thing, my my son and I have kind of decided to re redo or revamp a little bit of the the simulator that we've got out in the in the shop. And so we've Gallery View: so pretty happy with that. But but I didn't I didn't I've kind of been taking it easy on on the hand, so I can get back out this weekend. But the other the other big thing, my my son and I have kind of decided to re redo or revamp a little bit of the the simulator that we've got out in the in the shop and so we've Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: we've ordered a a new net and all that kind of stuff for what we're gonna do. And then he he told all of his golf buddies on the Gallery View: We've ordered a a new net and all that kind of stuff for what we're gonna do. And then he he told all of his golf buddies on the high school football team that we were doing this. So now I'm like now I've got like a timeline. There's people, you know, wanting to come use it. So like my my family would tell you I I like I'm well intentioned, but one of my huge character flaws is I I tend to start things and then, you know, I'll find something else going on. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: high school football team that we were doing this. So now I'm like now I've got like a timeline and there's people, you know, wanting to come use it. So like my my family would tell you I I like I'm well intentioned, but one of my huge character flaws is I I tend to start things and then you know I'll find something else going on and I'll do that for a little bit and then I'll come back to what I was doing. But that's not allowed in this in this case I guess. So so yeah not not a ton of golf. Gallery View: And I'll do that for a little bit and then I'll come back to what I was doing. But that's not allowed in this in this case, I guess. So so yeah, not not a ton of golf played for me this this week, but you know, the the hurt level I guess is is a is a little bit lower. So the injury. So you Chad, you said you mentioned your seventeen handicapping, you said that still sucks. I saw this thing on I think it was Instagram where it said like what at what point do you think a golfer's good? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: played for me this this week, but you know, the the hurt level I guess is is a is a little bit lower. So the injury. So Dalton Audio: Yeah. You Chad, you said you mentioned your seventeen handicapping, you said that still sucks. I saw this thing on I think it was Instagram where it said like what at what point do you think a golfer's good? Like what at what handicap number? Right? Did you guys see that? Yeah. So I'm like I and I was like, I wonder because you're saying seventeen sucks, and I'm like, dude, seventeen's like in my mind, like you're a solid golfer. Like I think twenty five plus and it's like, Okay, yeah, that's like I mean, I don't even know what handicaps go up to. Gallery View: Like what what handicap movement? Right. Did you guys see that? Yeah. Yeah. So I'm like, I and I was like, I wonder because you're saying seventeen sucks. And I'm like, dude, seventeen's like in my mind, like you're a solid golfer. Like I think twenty five plus, and it's like, okay, yeah, that's like I mean, I don't even know what handicaps go up to. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. I love that. Yeah. Chris Audio: yeah. I saw that too. Yeah. Gallery View: and then maybe like good is like single digit handicap. I don't I was like, I where do you guys draw your line of maybe good versus like, okay, yeah, you're solid, and then it's like no, you're Dalton Audio: And then maybe like good is like single digit handicap. I don't I was like, I where do you guys draw your line of maybe good versus like, okay, yeah, you're solid. And then it's like, no, you're you you kinda blow. You're not very good. Gallery View: You you kinda blow, you're not very good. I think my so the way I always look at it, if if you're like five or six and to scratch, that that's an that's an excellent golfer in my yeah, my book. If you're between like a six, seven and maybe like a twelve, I think you're a really good golfer. Twelve to kind of where I'm at good. I think below fifteen is probably good. I don't I don't think I qualify I don't qualify as a good golfer by anybody's definition, but Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I think so the way I always look at it, if if you're like five or six and to scratch, that that's an that's an excellent golfer in my my book. If you're between like a six, seven and maybe like a twelve, I think you're a really good golfer. Twelve to kind of where I'm at, g I think below fifteen is probably good. I don't I don't think I qualify I don't qualify as a good golfer by anybody's definition, but you get you get to single digits. I think you're a legit dude. I th when I say I suck, I think I'm probably Gallery View: you get you get to single digits. I think you're a legit dude. I th when I say I suck, I think I'm probably better than average. Like you it's tough using averages on that because half well over half the people I'm sure don't even have a handicap. So if you just go based on who has a handicap, it's you're excluding a ton of people. So I I think I I suck compared to people who golf as much as I do because I play a lot. So that's common though. I you're not for it. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: better than average. Like you it's tough using averages on that because half well over half the people I'm sure don't even have a handicap. So if you just go based on who has a handicap, it's you're excluding a ton of people. So I I think I I suck compared to people who golf as much as I do because I play a lot. So I don't know. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Right. Chris Audio: It's common though. I mean you knocked four four sh four shots off of me, that's pretty good in a short period of time. My answer, I would bifurcate this a little bit. so I mostly care if you're fun. Gallery View: For sh for shots off of me, that's pretty good in a short period of time. My answer, I would bifurcate this a little bit. so I mostly care if you're fun. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: Yeah, that's for sure. It's two different scales, right? There's a fun scale I want to play with again, and then Yeah, but you have to be at a certain level to be fun. Like if I'm looking for every if I'm looking for a got on every single shot, like you're not you're not fun. Yeah. I I I'm sorry. Dalton Audio: Yeah, that's for sure. It's two different scales, right? There's a fun scale wanna play with again, and then are you good or no? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Chris Audio: Yeah. Yeah. yeah, but you have to be at a certain level to be fun. Like if I'm looking for every if I'm looking for a got ball on every single shot, like you're not you're not fun. I I I'm sorry. Dalton Audio: That's true. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Dalton Audio: Yeah, no. Chris Audio: so that's one scale. And then I would say the other scale's single digit somewhere in that neighborhood. So if you're single digit, you know, you're probably shooting eighty five or better most days. You know, something like that. You're you're definitely breaking ninety. But Gallery View: so that's one scale. And then I would say the other scale is single digit somewhere in that neighborhood. So if you're single digit, you know, you're probably shooting eighty-five or better most days. You know, something like that. You're you're definitely breaking 90. But Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm-hmm. Gallery View: sing like single digit, I guess, is probably like the standard kind of kind of answer. Chris Audio: Sing I single digit, I guess, is probably like the standard kind of kinda answer. Gallery View: Yeah. Yeah. Nice. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Yeah. Nice. Gallery View: Yeah, what's funny, like I asked the pros that stuff, and I I think, you know, they were saying stuff like if you can break Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, what's funny, like I asked the pros that stuff, and I I think, you know, they were saying stuff like if you can break some of said like you can break ninety, some I think Roy said if you can break eighty, you know, and it's it's it's funny those guys b but when they're talking about shooting a score, these are people from play from the tips on difficult courses. So like, yeah, if I can break eighty where you're playing from, damn right I'm a good player, but so Gallery View: Some of them said you can break ninety, some I think Roy said if you can break eighty, you know. It's it's funny those guys but when they're talking about shooting a score, these are people from play from the tips on difficult courses. So like, yeah, if I can break eighty where you're playing from, damn right I'm a good player. But so Chris Audio: Yeah. Dalton Audio: Right. Gallery View: I it's all it's all relative. But I I think it's more important to be fun. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I it's all it's all relative. But I I think it's more important to be fun. So Gallery View: Yeah. Agreed. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Agreed. All Gallery View: All right, let's switch over to our approach here. Chad, you're gonna bring it to us. so reminder, this is scenario that you've seen. Give us what we need to know, nothing more, nothing less. Let's see what we think. Dalton Audio: right, let's switch over to our approach here. Chad, you're gonna bring it to us. so reminder this is scenario that you've seen. Give us what we need to know. Nothing more, nothing less. Let's see what we think. Gallery View: Yeah. So this is I don't this is this is gonna sound like something that's that I'm talking about my firm and this kind of thing has happened to me, but not quite to this to this level. So this example, I don't know the industry really matters. It's more like recurring. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. So this is I don't this is this is gonna sound like something that's that I'm talking about my firm and this kind of thing has happened to me, but not quite to this to this level. So this example, I don't know that the industry really matters. It's more like recurring work, so subscription work type of thing, or even a contractor that's got recurring clients, but like a six million dollar business, they've got one customer that of their six million, one and a half of that. Gallery View: work so subscription work type of thing or even a contractor that's got recurring clients, but like a six million dollar business, they've got one customer that of their six million, one and a half of that. So like 25% of their revenue is this one customer. So long term important customer, a lot of steady work. the customer has has told them that they're a little unhappy with a couple of things and they're gonna they're gonna put the Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: So like 25% of their revenue is this one customer. So long term important customer, a lot of steady work. the customer has has told them that they're a little unhappy with a couple of things and they're gonna they're gonna put the work out to bid next year, which I think can happen when you're when you're that when you know you're that big of a cog in somebody's entire operation. Gallery View: work out to bid next year which I think can happen when you're when you're that when you know you're that big of a cog in somebody's entire operation I think sometimes you you you're you start to flex a little bit on that on that position. So kind of you know told them he wants to stay. I think the price is too high. So like the owner was like I I I can't afford to lose a million and a half of revenue. So we're thinking about Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I think sometimes you you you're you start to flex a little bit on that on that position. So kind of you know told him he wants to stay, I think the price is too high. So like the owner was like I I I can't afford to lose a million and a half of revenue. so we're thinking about, you know, knocking like fifteen percent off of their off of their price, off of off of what we've been charging that. So knock that down to about one point two, one point three. Gallery View: you know, knocking like fifteen percent off of their off of their price, off of off of what we've been charging the so knock that down to about one point two, one point three. this is like thirty percent margin stuff. So that that alone would take the gross profit on their work from like four fifty down to two twenty five because that like the math on that if you feel like you're knocking fifteen percent off of what you're doing is cutting out half of your profit on that job. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: was like 30% margin stuff. So that that alone would take the gross profit on their work from like 450 down to 225. Because that like the math on that, if you feel like you're knocking 15% off of what you're doing is cutting out half of your profit on that job. So Dalton Audio: Right. Right. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: and there's sort of as customers when you when you have a customer that's that big you sort of have to design a lot of your workforce around it. Like there's not people that if they lose them, they can just lop them off. But it's Gallery View: and there's sort of as customers when you when you have a customer that's that big, you sort of have to design a lot of your workforce around it. Like there's not people that if they lose them, they can just lop them off, but it's Dalton Audio: Mm-hmm. Gallery View: it that opens up a gaping hole in in what they're what the what they have a lot of their staff working on. So this is one that I don't think has a right answer. I'm just curious how how you think through that process with them. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: it that opens up a gaping hole in in what they're what the what they have a lot of their staff working on. So this is one that I don't think has a right answer. I'm just curious how how you think through that process with them. Dalton Audio: Mm-hmm. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I think there's kind of two aspects of it. One is answering the immediate questions they've got of what do I do about repricing this work? And then the other is how have we structured our business? Is this how we wanna you know, do we wanna be in a situation where we've got this this these many eggs in one basket? Gallery View: I think there's kind of two aspects of it. One is answering the immediate questions they've got, what do I do about repricing this work? And then the other is how have we structured our business? Is this how we wanna you know, do we wanna be in a situation where we've got this this these many eggs in one basket? Dalton Audio: Yeah, I my first my first thought was, man, that the what it took to get to that point, you know, to be to to have your income tied, a quarter of your income tied to one other individual. it's like dang, that's not a great place, you know. so I think if I'm if I'm partnering with that company, I would try to segment my Gallery View: Yeah, I my first my first thought was, man, the the what it took to get to that point, you know, to be to to have your income tied, a quarter of your income tied to one other individual. it's like dang, that's not a great place, you know. so I think if I'm if I'm partnering with that company, I would try to segment my Dalton Audio: my staffing, my resources, like what it takes to to do that work, I would try to kind of like silo that as much as possible. so that like if something happens, it's like, okay, well, now if Steve is on that account, it's like, well, Steve, you're out too, you know? so that it's it's kind of like a clean break. It's almost like it's a division of your company that's not your main company. that's probably how I would set it up so that it's great when it's there. Gallery View: my staffing, my resources, like what it takes to to do that work, I would try to kind of like silo that as much as possible. so that like if something happens, it's like, okay, well now if Steve is on that account, it's like, well, Steve, you're out too, you know? so that it's it's kind of like a clean break. It's almost like it's a division of your company that's not your main company. that's probably how I would set it up so that it's great when it's there. Dalton Audio: And you can turn a profit. but if it goes, if something turns, then it's like, well, I can flip this switch and I know the rest of my business is still profitable with everything else that's going on. it man, try discounting I draw hard lines and like I don't negotiate my fees. so like if a client pushes back, it's like, well, you can go elsewhere. but I get the temptation of like, dude, it's twenty-five percent of my revenue. Gallery View: And you can turn a profit. but if it goes, if something turns and it's like, well, I can flip this switch and I know the rest of my business is still profitable with everything else that's going on. it man, dry discounting I draw hard lines and like I don't negotiate my fees. so like if a client pushes back, it's like, well, you can go elsewhere. but I get the temptation of like, dude, it's twenty five percent of my revenue. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Gallery View: That is a huge number. Dalton Audio: is a huge number. Yeah, I think I think if you're stepping into it and like you didn't you didn't line things up in the way that I described, right? Where like you could just flip that switch. Gallery View: Yeah, I think I think if you're stepping into it and like you didn't you didn't line things up in the way that I described, right? Where like you could just flip that switch. Dalton Audio: Yeah, I think i if nothing else, you gotta you gotta discount it for a little while while you make those transitions. But I would take that as a like spark to like, okay, I gotta not let this happen again. and I gotta try to like change things up so that I can be very profitable with the rest of what I have going on. Even if that means a lower margin on that big chunk. Because a lower margin as a percentage on the big chunk is still a good margin. Yeah. I think that's probably how I I I'd like kind of Gallery View: Yeah, I think i if nothing else, you gotta you gotta discount it for a little while while you make those transitions. But I would take that as a like spark to like, okay, I gotta not let this happen again. Yeah. and I gotta try to like change things up so that I can be very profitable with the rest of what I have going on. Even if that means a lower margin on that big chunk. Because a lower margin as a percentage on the big chunk is still a good margin. yeah. Yeah. I think that's probably how I I'd like kind of Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Dalton Audio: put my finger in the hole so that it stops leaking as fast, you know, but it's still it's still not great. and try to try to come up with some solutions so that you can you can get some mortar on there and get it get it fully fixed. Gallery View: Put my finger in the hole so that it stops leaking as fast, you know, but it's still still not great. and try to try to come up with some solutions so that you can you can get some mortar on there and get it get it fully fixed. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Gallery View: Yeah. I'd say that, you know, if you're a business owner listening to this, the first big takeaway is don't let one single customer become that much of a chunk of your business. Yep. Like we usually take a look at Chris Audio: I'd say that, you know, if you're a business owner listening to this, the first big takeaway is don't let one single customer become that much of a chunk of your business. Like we usually take a look at the Dalton Audio: Yep. Gallery View: the top five and we want the top five to be twenty five percent less for sure. Otherwise you've got a customer concentration issue. You have the kind of conversation that we're having right now. Also impacts your valuation if you go to sell. Like there's there's nothing that Chris Audio: top five and we want the top five to be twenty five percent or less for sure. Otherwise, you've got a customer concentration issue. You have the kind of conversation that we're having right now. Also impacts your valuation when if you go to sell. like there's there's nothing that Gallery View: there's nothing good that happens from that. I the thing that I would be thinking about is I wouldn't be looking at the 1.2 or 1.3 million revenue because I kind of almost don't care. I'd be looking at that bottom line. And so if the bottom line is now two twenty five Chris Audio: There's nothing good that happens from that. The thing that I would be thinking about is I wouldn't be looking at the 1.2 or 1.3 million in revenue because I kind of almost don't care. I'd be looking at that bottom line. And so if the bottom line is now 225, the thing I would be thinking about is is that customer even worth keeping? And is it worth the aggravation? So if they're going to be difficult, if they're going to ask for further concessions, if they're going to make you further change your whole entire business around. Gallery View: thing I would be thinking about is is that customer even worth keeping? Is it worth the aggravation? So if they're going to be difficult, if they're going to ask for further concessions, if they're going to make you further change your whole entire business around, Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm-hmm. Gallery View: and still take that that price cut, like is that even worth it? And then you gotta think about, you know, how many different relationships do I need to manage in order to maintain this customer? And is that worth it? You know? Yeah. Chris Audio: and still take that that price cut. Like, is that even worth it? And then you gotta think about, you know, how many different relationships do I need to manage in order to maintain this customer? And is that worth it? You know? Dalton Audio: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Chris Audio: So I would be looking at it from that from that perspective. I wouldn't be looking at the one point two or one point three and saying it's difficult to lose. Like, yeah, that's true, and it is difficult to lose, but is it worth keeping? So I would kind of reframe that question a little bit. Gallery View: So I would be looking at it from that from that perspective. I wouldn't be looking at the one point two or one point three and saying it's difficult to lose. Like, yeah, that's true, and it is difficult to lose, but is it worth keeping? So I would kind of reframe that question a little bit. Yeah. We we we had a lot of this. I know when I when I took over at our firm, we had we had some big big client, really big and small work that we that Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, we've we we had a lot of this. I know when I when I took over at our firm, we had we had some big big client really big and small work that we that Dalton Audio: Yeah, that's Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: it was it it was sort of like a something is better than nothing mindset. where we would price work on these quote summer rates, which is not a thing anymore 'cause I'm as busy now as I as I Gallery View: It was it it was sort of like a something is better than nothing mindset. where we would price work on these quote summer rates, which is not a thing anymore because I'm as busy now as I as I Chris Audio: Mm-hmm. Dalton Audio: Mm. Gallery View: in the summer is as not. But it used to be when summer was a a downtime allegedly, you'd discount some work just to kind of fill it. where me me my business specifically. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: in the summers as not, but it used to be when summer was a a downtime allegedly, you'd discount some work just to kind of fill it. where me me my business specifically, where we started to get, you know, started to hose ourselves on that was yeah, yeah, something is better than nothing. But if you keep going and down that road, you've got a whole book of business built on something is better than nothing. Gallery View: where we started to get, you know, started to hose ourselves on that was yeah, yeah, something is better than nothing. But if you keep going and down that road, you've got a whole book of business built on something is better than nothing. And it's all it's none of its your ideal client. So I I I just thought it I thought it was an interesting situation 'cause I don't know that it's that there's a right answer on it. Like the like it all it all has Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: And it's all it's none of its your ideal client. So I I I just thought it I thought it was an interesting situation because I don't know that it's that there's a right answer on it. Like the like it all it all has Dalton Audio: Yeah. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: it all has negative consequences, like letting letting that that much work go. We had like my firm had one three years ago where the owners couldn't get along and they were twenty percent of our of our business. Gallery View: It all has negative consequences like letting letting that that much work go. We had like my firm had one three years ago where the owners couldn't get along and they were twenty percent of our of our business ended up selling their company. So so I get it. Like I I understand when you're when you're bidding it and someone's knocking on your door, you're like, Holy crap, that's Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Ended up selling their company. So so I get it. Like I I understand when you're when you're bidding it and someone's knocking on your door, you're like, Holy crap, that's I can buy a new boat with that, you know, in like the first couple of months. That's that sounds pretty good. But it's I think the bigger lesson that I that I've kind of leaned to on this is more lean into the long term outlook on it. Like whatever you do in the short term, I don't know. There's not a both answers suck. Gallery View: buy a new boat with that, you know, in like the first couple of months. That's that sounds pretty good. But it's I think the bigger lesson that I that I've kind of leaned to on this is more lean into the long term outlook on it. Like whatever you do in the short term, I don't know. There's not a both answers suck. So do what do whatever you can. But like the long it's it's an opportunity to look at the long term and and structure yourself so that y you you don't end up in bad situations going forward. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: So do what do whatever you can. But like the long it's it's an opportunity to look at the long term and and structure yourself so that y you you don't end up in bad situations going forward. Gallery View: And I've seen a number of times both in my own firm and with customers of ours where that biggest client or second biggest client or whatever large chunk of revenue goes for whatever reason, it opens up a whole bunch of opportunity to focus somewhere else. And you didn't even have the bandwidth at the time or the resources to be able to focus there and it actually makes you better. So sometimes, you know, it's addition by subtraction. Chris Audio: And I've seen a number of times, both in my own firm and with customers of ours, where that biggest client or second biggest client or whatever large chunk of revenue goes for whatever reason, it opens up a whole bunch of opportunity to focus somewhere else. Gallery View: Yeah, I I I agree. I th that's been my experience too. I mean, even in our own firm, we Dalton Audio: Yeah, I I I agree. I th that's been my experience too. I mean, even in our own firm, we we cut probably twenty-five percent by volume, so not by revenue, but by volume, like number of returns. and our revenue grew, you know, because we were able to like better service our existing clients, do different work for them, fill in with like really good clients. we're just able to get some efficiencies and economies to figure out like what do we do really well. what's not a huge lift for us, but offers a ton of value. Dalton Audio: and now we don't like we don't have huge clients, you know, we've got a lot of like meaningful relationships, but to to Chris's point, our top five are nowhere near twenty five percent, you know. so if one of leaves, it's like, okay, well, all right, let's take those hours. We can either have more vacation now, right? Or we can go pivot to like fill it back in with some of our existing relationships. but yeah, sometimes those go ahead. Gallery View: And now we don't like we don't have huge clients. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: You j you just you just don't have the time when you're that when you're that when you're that Gallery View: You just don't have the time when you're that when you're that when you're that Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: stacked up with work to do, you just don't have the time to be creative and helpful with the clients, which is I think no matter what industry in, there very few of them are just paying you to, you know, do some sort of mundane form-filling task or whatever. They want they want some sort of value add to what you're doing. And if you're s if you're totally slammed with work, you just don't. Gallery View: stacked up with work to do, you just don't have the time to be creative and helpful with the clients, which is I think no matter what industry in, there very few of them are just paying you to, you know, do some sort of mundane form-filling task or whatever. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: You don't have the liberty or that freedom to really do those creative type things with with customers, clients, whatever it is. Gallery View: you don't have the liberty or that freedom to really do those creative type things with with customers, clients, whatever it is. That's right. One thing that Dalton brought up was the relationship aspect of it. So my advice would potentially change if that particular customer was referring a whole bunch of clients or a whole bunch of work and they were good clients. At that point you take the cut and it's like Yeah. It's fine. Right. but that's another thing to think about too, is is what kind of what kind of customer are they actually from that perspective. Dalton Audio: That's right. Chris Audio: One thing that Dalton brought up was the relationship aspect of it. So my advice would potentially change if that particular customer was referring a whole bunch of clients or a whole bunch of work and they were good clients. At that point you take the cut and it's like, sorry, like it is what it is. Yeah. I'm I'm right. but that's another thing to think about too, is is what kind of what kind of customer are they actually from that perspective. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Yeah, it's fine. You almost do that work for free, yeah. Gallery View: Yeah. Yep. Dalton Audio: Awesome. All right. Let's let's get into what we have coming up. What do you guys play in the next week or two? What do you got going on? What's life looking like? Gallery View: Awesome. All right. Let's let's get into what we have coming up. What do you guys play in the next week or two? What do you got going on? What's life looking like? Dalton Audio: Chris, what do you got? Gallery View: Chris, what you got? I am going to London tomorrow, taking the family. We yeah. We are gonna go see the Eagles Jags game. Go Birds. Well, what's left of anyway. Yeah, but we're gonna have a we're gonna have a great time. yeah, the Rams Rams did a number on We weren't we weren't mad about that. That was great. Well, and then Lane Johnson retires and then they traded away Cam Jurgen today, which I actually clapped and had a part of a had a little bit of a party. Chris Audio: I am going to London tomorrow, taking the family. We yeah. We are gonna go see the Eagles Jags game, go Birds. What's left of any well, what's left of anyway. but we're gonna have a gr we're gonna have a great time. either way. So Dalton Audio: Wow. Wow. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: nice. Yeah. Dalton Audio: Yeah, the Rams Rams did a number on We weren't we weren't mad about that. That was great. Chris Audio: Well, and then Lane Johnson retires and then they traded away Cam Jugen today, which I actually clapped and had a part of a had a little bit of a party. Dalton Audio: Yeah. Chris Audio: Worst offensive lineman in the league. whatever. But anyway, still go birds. I'm not playing golf this week. So the next time I talk to you guys, I will not have touched a golf club. But what I've got coming up is the member guest here in two weeks, which I'm getting emotionally prepared for. Gallery View: Worst offensive lineman in the league. whatever. But anyway, still go birds. I'm not playing golf this week. So the next time I talk to you guys, I will not have touched a golf club. But what I've got coming up is the member guest here in two weeks, which I'm getting emotionally prepared for. Dalton Audio: Okay. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. Are you already preparing your pre round re Jaeger bombs? What's what's Gallery View: Are you already preparing your pre round re Gager bombs? What's Chris Audio: A hundred percent. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: how quickly do you think you would need to hire an attorney if you showed up at the airport and you pulled your clubs out of the trunk on the way to London? Gallery View: How quickly do you think you would need to hire an attorney if you showed up at the airport and you pulled your clubs out of the trunk on the way to London? I don't think I would. She'd be on board. My wife would. Yeah, my my wife's pretty cool. she would be surprised. She'd be surprised. But she would she I don't I wouldn't need an attorney, put it that way. Now, if I brought my son's clubs with me, then it you know, we're we're we're good. No problem. Chris Audio: I don't think I would. my wife would. Yeah, my my wife's pretty cool. she would be surprised. She would be surprised, but she I don't I wouldn't need an attorney, put it that way. Now, if I brought my son's clubs with me, then it you know, we're we're we're good. No problem. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Should be on board. Cool. Would she though? Gallery View: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Gallery View: yeah. Chris Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: Yep. Awesome. What do you got? Or somebody. Dalton Audio: What do you got, Chad? Chris Audio: What about you, Dalton? Or somebody. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: yeah, I'll go. really nothing. I'll probably play I'll play this weekend at some point, I'm sure. But we've got I've I don't have this time of year like football gets gets in the way. Ooh, this is cool though. I did I've my new favorite thing is if there's a game so I'm a I I'm a KU alum and a Chiefs fan, and if there's a game that we're playing that that I either think shouldn't be close Gallery View: Yeah, I'll go. really nothing. I'll probably play I'll play this weekend at some point, I'm sure. But we've got I've I don't have this time of year, like football gets gets in the way. Ooh, this is cool though. I did I've my new favorite thing is if there's a game. So I'm a I I'm a KU alum and a Chiefs fan. And if there's a game that we're playing that that I either think shouldn't be close, so if it is, I don't want to see it anyway. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: so if it is, I don't want to see it anyway, or I think we're gonna get blown out, I will just go play golf because the course is wide open both those times. So I bought this little like analog radio to go to go listen and it's been it's been blissful. yeah, nothing nothing really going on for me. I just just this simulator project that I'm I'm told I need to get cracking on. So other than that, not not much for me. So Dalton. Gallery View: Or I think we're gonna get blown out. I will just go play golf because the course is wide open both those times. So I bought this little like analog radio to go there you go listen and it's been it's been blissful. yeah, nothing nothing really going on for me. I just just this simulator project that I'm I'm told I need to get cracking on. So other than that, not not much for me. So Dalton. Dalton Audio: Ha ha. There you go. Nice. Nice. Gallery View: Yeah, I've got I'm gonna head out Friday. I got a solo round. Dalton Audio: Yeah, I've got I'm gonna head out Friday. I got a solo round. Gallery View: that'll be kind of my final tune up before this member pre-round. I don't even know. Member membership scouting round. so and then that's that is next Wednesday. And he told me on the phone, I had a phone call with him. He's like, Yeah, we just overseed it and when they do that, they let the rough grow out like really long. So it's gonna play super hard. And I was like, awesome. And it's like Dalton Audio: that'll be kind of my final tune up before this member preround. I don't even know. Member membership scouting round. so and then that's that is next Wednesday. And he told me on the phone, I had a phone call with him. He's like, Yeah, we just overseed it. And when they do that, they let the rough grow out like really long. So it's gonna play super hard. And I was like, awesome. And it's like Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: We Gallery View: already a narrow course, you know. It's it's a good course, but it's get like I'm gonna shoot. Dalton Audio: Already a narrow course, you know. It's it's a good course, but it's get like I'm gonna shoot triple digits probably. but it's fun. yeah, so just trying to get ready for that. I did get I re-gripped my my 56 and my 60. My 60, I got it used and it was like a super fat, like oversized grip. and what's interesting is like I I learned that I I Gallery View: triple digits probably. but it's fine. yeah. So just trying to get ready for that. I did get I re-gripped my my 56 and my 60. My 60, I got it used and it was like a super fat, like oversized grip. and what's interesting is like I I learned that I I kind of liked it. Like I liked having it a little bit thicker but it it was causing pain on my hand. It was like putting too much especially if I hit something fat. It was like not yeah so Dalton Audio: kinda liked it. Like I liked having it a little bit thicker, but it it was causing pain on my hand. It was like putting too much, especially if I hit something fat. It was like not yeah. So anyways, I I did one step down. Gallery View: Anyways, I I did one step. We're gonna have to call this Chris Audio: We're gonna have call this like Gallery View: like the geriatric golfer like podcast. Like, what is happening right now? Telling you. but I w I ended up with a grip that's it's it's thicker than my regular irons, but not that, not as thick. So I I'll I'll have that for the first time. I did my sand wedge, I gripped that. It's more similar to my the rest of my irons. and then I got a new grip on my putter, which I'm stoked on. it's a pistol two point Chris Audio: the geriatric golfer like podcast. Like, what is happening right now? Dalton Audio: Right. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. but I I ended up with a grip that's it's it's thicker than my regular irons, but not that, not as thick. So I I'll I'll have that for the first time. I did my sand wedge. I gripped that. It's more similar to my the rest of my irons. and then I got a new grip on my putter, which I'm stoked on. it's a pistol two point zero by superstrup. So anyways, that that's been good so far. So excited to get those out. Gallery View: by superstrup. So anyways, that that's been good so far. So excited to get those out. Get them trying or get them get them swinging. all right, let's let's find these beers again, figure out what their what their rating's gonna be. I gotta hear with this sexy something or other beer hazy sexy cool. There you go. It is it is a seven five. Dalton Audio: Get trying or get get swinging. all right, let's let's find these beers again, figure out what their what their rating's gonna be. I gotta hear what this sexy something or other beer that Chris had was. There you go. Chris Audio: Easy, sexy, cool. It is it is a seven five. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Gallery View: Seven five seven five. Yeah it's a hazy sexy cool. It's a New England hazy Dalton Audio: Seven five, all right. Chris Audio: Seven five. Yeah, so hazy sexy cool. it's a New England hazy, Birdsong Brewery, Charlotte, North Carolina. There's a seven five, which would be, you know, we're s this is what, episode six. So it's like my third highest beer so far, I would say. Yeah, that's that's about right. Gallery View: Herdsong Brewery, Charlotte, North Carolina. There's a seven five, which would be, you know, we're s this is what, episode six. So it's like my third highest beer so far. Okay. So yeah, that's that's about right. Dalton Audio: Okay. Nice. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Nice. Mine, so this is the Logan Loganitas Trooper. Loganitas from Petaluma, California, by the way. So my wife's got family family out in that area. I like it. I actually I didn't do this because Chris just said seven point five, but I was gonna go seven point six on mine. yeah, so I like it. It's it's it's it's got very kind of pretty bitter, pretty dank. Gallery View: Nice. Mine, so this is the Logan Loganitas Trooper. Loganitas from Petaluma, California, by the way. So my wife's got family family out in that area. I like it. I actually I didn't do this because Chris just said seven point five, but I was gonna go seven point six on mine. Nice. Yeah. So I like it. It's it's it's it's got very kind of pretty bitter, pretty dank. Chris Audio: Nice. Total one upper. Dalton Audio: Okay. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: But it's not like crazy over the top, but nothing too super unique or wild about it, but it's it's it's it's just pretty solid, just like Iron Maiden, I guess. So Dalton, what about you? Gallery View: But it's not like crazy over the top, but nothing too super unique or wild about it, but it's it's it's it's just pretty solid, just like Iron Maiden, I guess. So Dalton, what about you? Dalton Audio: Yeah. Nice. Yeah, so I'll get let me let me get our ratings again. I forgot to do that. So just for for the listeners, one and two is no thanks, pouring this out, not drinking it. Three and four. I mean if it's free, I guess I'll drink it. Gallery View: I s yeah, so I'll get let me let me get our ratings again. I forgot to do that. So just for for the listeners, one and two is no thanks, pouring this out, not drinking it. Three and four, I mean if it's free, I guess I'll drink it. Dalton Audio: Five and six, that's solid. I'll drink this. It's good. I'm may not choose it, but I'll drink it for sure. seven and eight, those are good beers like these. I'll buy them, pay money for them, and then nine and ten are like the elite super good beers. so I've got Stone's Chill Villain IPA. It is seven point percent. Gallery View: Five and six, that's solid. I'll drink this. It's good. I may not choose it, but I'll drink it for sure. seven and eight, those are good beers like these. I'll buy them, pay money for them, and then nine and ten are like the elite super good beers. so I've got Stone's Chill Villain IPA. It is 7.0%. it definitely has that stone bitterness that they're kind of known for. The bite that they they're known for. it's Dalton Audio: it definitely has that stone bitterness that they're kind of known for. The bite that they they're known for. it's Gallery View: Okay, it's a little like monotone almost, you know, like I wish it was a little bit more complex and had a little bit more of a flavor profile. it's it's it's maybe just a little simple for me. It is better than some of their other beers though, like they're Dalton Audio: okay. It's a little like monotone almost, you know. Like I wish it was a little bit more complex and had a little bit more of a flavor profile. it's it's it's maybe just a little simple for me. It is better than some of their other beers though, like they're Gallery View: they're just regular stone IPA that's a black can with some green writing. It's better than that. Dalton Audio: They're just regular stone IPA. That's a black can with some green writing. It's better than that. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. Gallery View: really so I love that one. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Really? So I love that one. Gallery View: Do you? Dalton Audio: Do you? Yeah, I think this is better than that. I maybe I'm just a a harsh critic. I still remember the first time I had a stone. I was probably like 21, 22. My buddy was having a a party, he he was going, he either just got back or was getting deployed or something like that. and I had never had an IPA before. Like I it just like wasn't a thing. And so I think I was like, great, I'll have a beer. Open it up and almost spit it out. I was like, what the hell? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Gallery View: Yeah, I think this is better than that. I maybe I'm just a a harsh critic. I still remember the first time I had a stone. I was probably like 21, 22. My buddy was having a a party, he he was going, he either just got back or was getting deployed or something like that. and I had never had an IPA before. Like I it just like wasn't a thing. And so I took I was like, great, I'll have a beer. Open it up and almost spit it out. It's like what the hell what this thing is skunked. Like, what is wrong with this? This is horrible. Dalton Audio: What this thing is skunked. Like what is wrong with this? This is horrible. And it's funny to see like now it's like, no, I kinda like that and if I don't have an IPA I'm kinda like, Yeah, this thing's not great. Gallery View: And it's funny to see like now it's like, no, I kinda like that. And if I don't have an IPA, I'm kinda like, Yeah, this thing's not great. Chris Audio: Yeah. Gallery View: every beer on this list is an IPA. Except for I know, we gotta do better about not getting IPAs. Try to try to get some variety in here. How about next week? We we commit to no IPA week. Two weeks 'cause I've got I've already got mine for next week. So Chris Audio: Every beer on this list is an IPA. Except for the one red. Yeah. Maybe how about next week we we commit to a non IPA, no IPA. Dalton Audio: I know, we gotta do better about not getting IPAs. Try to try to get some variety in here. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Number one. Dalton Audio: No IPA week. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: About about in two weeks 'cause I've got I've already got mine for next week, so Chris Audio: Dude, you guys are gonna be high maintenance. Gallery View: you guys are gonna We'll start introducing some non IPAs. Dalton Audio: We'll start we'll start introducing some non-IPAs. How about that? That's just an emphasis. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I have a Gallery View: I have a Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: quick I have a quick Stone story that's Stone story that's funny. so like a few years ago for like Boss's Day or something like that, the people in my firm got me a case of Stone's arrogant bastard ale. Which was a not so subtle probably hint. I think it was bought for the name, but I was like, Well, joke's on you guys. I love this shit. So Gallery View: quick I have a quick Stones story that's Stone story that's funny. so like a few years ago for like Boss's Day or something like that, the people in my firm got me a case of Stone's arrogant bastard ale. Yes. Nice. Which was a not so subtle probably hint. I think it was bought for the name, but I was like, Well, jokes on you guys. I love this shit. So Dalton Audio: Yeah, yeah. Yes. Chris Audio: Nice. So Gallery View: Don't mind if I do. Thank you very much. Yeah. So Yeah, I would put this I'd go seven one. it's good. It's good. It's not getting into eights yet. but yeah, it's and it's it's it's not a six. It's better than a six. So we'll go seven one. Dalton Audio: Yeah, I would put this I'd go seven one. it's good, it's good. It's not getting into eights yet. but yeah, it's and it's it's it's not a six. It's better than a six. So we'll go seven one. Gallery View: Okay. Chris Audio: Okay. Gallery View: All right. All right, that's another episode of the RDT FM podcast. Thanks for joining us. See you next time.
