Chad, what do you got over there? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I have something I literally picked up less than a half hour ago. So I there's not a lot of research done here, but so your so I it's it's a little bit of a visual selection. Like as I told you before, I go not suit us well last time. Visual is not the play. It didn't suit you well, but you're you don't have the discretion of I'm older than you, so I've got no bunny rabbits. Yeah, you figured this is no there are no bunnies on this on this thing. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I have something I literally picked up less than a half hour ago. So I there's not a lot of research done here, but so your so I it's it's a little bit of a visual selection. Like as I told you before, I go well it didn't suit you well, but you're you don't have the discretion of I'm older than you, so I've got years of yeah. There's no there are no bunnies on this on this thing. Dalton Audio: That did not suit us well last time. Visual is not the play. That's right. No bunny rabbits. Yeah, you figured this out already. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: There's some colorful swaths of pastel colors, though. This is from Outer Range Brewing Company in, I believe, Frisco. yeah, Frisco, Colorado. And okay. So my so I've never I've never had this and never had anything from Outer Range, but I can tell you that my my so my in laws live in Colorado, and Colorado IPAs are Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: There's some colorful swaths of pastel colors though. So they can really do no wrong. So I'm I'm pretty pumped to try this thing. It's a DDH it's called so out of range. This is called Fresh Palette. It says it's a DDH hazy IPA, and I'm not an actual beer guy, I just play one on a podcast. So I had to look up what Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Like I don't know if it's just the water or me or what it what it is, but those are those are dialed for me. So they can really do no wrong. So I had to look up what GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: A DDH hazy mint, and it is to please the court, it is a unfiltered juicy IPA that has been double dry hopped during or after fermentation to max maximize tropical fruit aromas without adding heavy bitterness. Okay. So I'm excited. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: A DDH hazy mint and it is to please the court, it is a unfiltered juicy IPA that has been double dry hopped during or after fermentation to max to maximize tropical fruit aromas without adding heavy bitterness. So I'm excited. Dalton Audio: Okay. Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: This is the first time ever heard of DDH. Chris Audio: This is the first time I ever heard of D D H. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah. Yeah, me too. Me too. I didn't know what that meant. Dalton Audio: Yeah, same. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, me too. Me too. I didn't know what that meant. I thought I'd buy it anyway. So hopefully this works out for us. Chris, what what but how about you? What do you what did you bring to the party? It is six point two percent and it is a Vermont beer, as the the first two, episode one and two were. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Has been all Vermont all Vermont beers from you? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: It's been all Verm all Vermont beers from you. Chris Audio: It has been. Yeah, I got a Vermont four pack that I'm working through, so next episode will also be a Vermont IPA. I'm an I'm an IPA guy and so we're we're working through the fridge right now. But yeah, Shellburn Vermont, Fiddlehead Brewing Company. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: It has been. Yeah, I got a Vermont four pack that I'm working through. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: okay. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Nice. Nice. I've got it's El Segundo Brewing Company, so Southern California again, West Coast IPA. It's called Burnoff, it's a hazy IPA. six point seven percent. Dalton Audio: Nice. Nice. I've got it's El Segundo Brewing Company, so Southern California again, West Coast IPA. It's called Burnoff. It's a hazy IPA. 6.7%. It's got Sultana, Centennial, Columbus, Crayo, and Citra hops. hopefully better than last week. Last week, I mean, I I told you guys if I had to re-score that thing, I would. No, no rescoring. We've decided that's not allowed. but I did infect. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: It's got Sultana, Centennial, Columbus, Crayo, and Citrahops. hopefully better than last week. Last week, I mean, I I told you guys if I had to re-score that thing, I would. No, no rescoring. We've decided that's not allowed. well yeah, you didn't Chris Audio: Well, you didn't you didn't express on the podcast. So tell us tell us what you texted or tell the listeners what you texted us, you know, sometime midweek. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: express on the podcast. So tell us tell us what you texted us, or tell the listeners what you texted us. You know, so a couple days Dalton Audio: Yep, so a couple days GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: a couple days after Dalton Audio: a couple days after we recorded the last podcast, I cracked open one of those bunny marshmallow something or other beers. and I took one sip and I was like, Whew. I don't know I don't know if we're getting through this. Okay, well sometimes your mouth has to kind of acclimate acclimate to it, right? couple more sips. And I went, Yeah, no, I'm I GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: We recorded the last podcast. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I cannot finish this. So I poured it down the drain and then threw the other two out. So Dalton Audio: I cannot finish this. So I poured it down the drain and then threw the other two out. So per our scoring, it should be a one or a two, but I already gave it a three-two. So they got a little bit of an inflated score. we're not gonna change the scores, that's not allowed. But I I did in fact not finish it. And even though it was free, I I threw them out. So Yeah, yeah, for for sure. so that's been a long time since I have just willingly thrown out beer I paid for. that's how bad it was. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Per our scoring, it should be a one or a two, but I already gave it a three two, so it got a little bit of an inflated score. we're not gonna change the scores, that's not allowed. For for sure. so that it's been a long time since I have just willingly thrown out beer I paid for. that's how bad it was. Chris Audio: Ha Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Three three point two with an asterisk, huh? Chris Audio: Mm. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So Dalton Audio: So but we have we are starting off much stronger with this one. There's nothing weird about this. So we're we're we're looking a lot better tonight. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: but we have we are starting off much stronger with this one. There's nothing weird about this. Maybe our listeners hit it in the chat. Maybe it is. Chris Audio: Just just you. Yeah. Dalton Audio: Okay. Yeah, nice. Yeah, my buddy used to work in El Segundo. He actually does still work there, so head out that way every now and then. pretty pretty local spot. Good beer, good brewery. we'll see what the score ends up at. All right, so let's get into our scorecard here. That's our update where you've been playing, how life's been going, things that you've been working on, anything getting fixed, getting worse, new wrinkles, right? Whatever it is. Chris Audio: so I've been a little bit on the GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So I've been a little bit on the Chris Audio: charity scramble circuit as it as it were. so I played in like the home build the local home builders association tournament on Saturday. Then I played in the Tunnels to Tower or Tunnel to Towers tournament Sunday. That was cool. So Port Royal over on Hilton Head. and then Palmetto Dunes the Fazi of course on Sunday, which is like one of my GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: charity scramble circuit. Okay. As it as it were. so I played in like the home build the local home builders association tournament on Saturday. Then I played in the Tunnels to Tower or Tunnel to Towers tournament Sunday. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: One of my favorites mostly for sentimental reasons going back like thirty years or something like that. Okay. Nice. Yeah, going back going back a long time. Really good got really good golf course. Riz like resort, resort course, but like really good golf course. Yeah. And then yesterday I talked about this on the podcast a couple weeks ago, I think. Played in the pro official at Salinas in Columbia, South Carolina, which is like home of the Brian brothers. Chris Audio: One of my favorites mostly for sentimental reasons going back like thirty years or something like that. Yeah, going back going back a long time. Really good got really good golf course. Riz like resort, resort course, but like really good golf course. And then yesterday I talked about this in the podcast a couple weeks ago, I think. Played in the pro official at Salinas in Columbia, South Carolina, which is like home of the Brian brothers. Dalton Audio: Okay, nice. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: If you've or black brothers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they own that place. They're doing a bunch of work on it. course was course was good. I didn't know going in that I'd be playing the tips and played the tips basically by myself because what I also didn't know is that like if you're over fifty, you play one T up. So Chris Audio: If you've or Bryant Brothers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they own that place. They're doing a bunch of work on it. course was course was good. I didn't know going in that I'd be playing the tips. And played the tips basically was by myself because what I also didn't know is that like if you're over fifty, you play one T up. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: really? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: My pro what is is over fifty. He played one T up. And then the two guys we played with, over fifty played one. So I'm by myself. Yeah. And so like to be totally honest, you know, I'm not I am not twenty anymore. And some of those T shots like can't I'm not I can't hit it that far. I'm sorry, you know. so that was a little bit of a struggle. Chris Audio: My pro what is is over fifty. He played one T up. And then the two guys we played with over fifty played one. So I'm by myself. You know, basically basically the entire way around. Yeah. Yeah. And so like to be totally honest, you know, I'm not I am not twenty anymore. And some of those T shots like can't I'm not I can't hit it that far. I'm sorry, you know. so that was a little bit of a struggle. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. Dalton Audio: It's lonely at the tips. That's not that's not where you wanna be alone. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Dalton Audio: Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: but we ended up coming in second, which is kind of a bummer. And I made the tactical mistake after like roughly nine holes of his I could tell like I had just made an eagle and we had made a couple of birdies and like I could tell by the way that the interaction with with my partner who's who's our director of golf at my club, I could tell by how the interaction was going that things were going well, right? 'Cause he's got he's got the phone and he's got the inter he's got the scoreboard and like Chris Audio: but we ended up coming in second, which is kind of a bummer. And like a jackass, I said, Hey, how are we doing? And do you have a leaderboard? And he said, Yeah, it's stupid. And he goes, Yeah, we're we're doing pretty good. we're in the lead. And like, okay, cool. So we're like nah, well, I mean, whatever. So we're six under through nine. And like, okay, cool. And then we finish six under. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I could just kind of tell like things are going well. And like a jackass, I said, Hey, how are we doing? And do you have a leaderboard? And he's last words. Yeah, it's stupid. And he goes, Yeah, we're we're doing pretty good. we're in the lead. And like, okay, cool. You don't want to hear that. Well, I mean, whatever. So we're six under through nine. And like, okay, cool. And then we finish six under. Dalton Audio: Famous last words. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. Dalton Audio: You don't want to hear that. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And we lost by Yeah, we just you know, we just couldn't we and by we I mean mostly me. we just couldn't get together. But but the saving grace of it all was you got six hundred and fifty bucks in shop credit and a brand spanking new QI four D driver from TaylorMade shop was six hundred and forty seven dollars and fifty cents. Yes. We love that spot. Chris Audio: And we lost by two. Yeah, we just, you know, we just couldn't we and by we, I mean mostly me. we just couldn't get together. But but the saving grace of it all was you got six hundred and fifty bucks in shop credit and a brand spanking new QI four D driver from TaylorMade in the shop was six hundred and forty seven dollars and fifty cents. Right. Dalton Audio: yeah. There we go. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Hell yes. Yes. Jackpot. Dalton Audio: We love that. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: A hundred percent. And I'm playing a titleist right now that's ten years old. So and and my pro goes, just get whatever, come back to you know, come back to come back to the club, get fit, we'll trade it in and and whatever. Like perfect. that's and as as it were, the tailor made rep is gonna be at our club tomorrow. Chris Audio: A hundred percent. And I'm playing a titleist right now, it's ten years old. So and and my pro goes, just get whatever, come back to you know, come back to come back to the club, get fit, we'll trade it in and and whatever, like perfect. Love it. And the club championship is on the second of October. Chris Audio: Yes. And the club championship is on the second of October and the member and the member guest is two weeks later. So I'm I'm set. Yeah, ever Yeah, the whole thing aligned. So we came in second and I shit the bed, but everything's fine. It kind of sort of worked out. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And the member guest is two weeks later. So I'm the stars aligned. Look how that worked out. Yeah, the whole thing aligned. So we came in second and I shit the bed, but everything's fine. Hey, you Dalton Audio: Yeah, I love it when the stars align. That's a big time. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Look look how that worked out. Dalton Audio: Hey, you got a new driver. That's there's worse there's worse outcomes. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, I think that that works out just fine. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: got a new driver. That's that works out just fine. Great. Chris Audio: Right? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yep. Don, what about you, man? Chris Audio: Yep. Don, what about you, man? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, kind of continuing my my road to recovery here. I have hit every stick in the bag pretty much free. so drivers back, hit hit the wood last week. Dalton Audio: Yeah, kind of continuing my my road to recovery here. I have hit every stick in the bag pretty much free. so drivers back, hit hit the wood last week, little hybrid club, that's all been pretty good. I got two virtual nines in at Top Golf. I didn't want to go full full course just yet, just in case. but those both went pretty well. That scoring is so unrealistic though, because you hit it in the rough and there's like no penalty. You hit it behind a tree and it like doesn't matter. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: little hybrid club, that's all been pretty good. I got two virtual nines in at top golf. I didn't want to go full full course just yet, just in case. but those both went pretty well. That scoring's so unrealistic though, because you hit it in the rough and there's like no penalty. Yeah. You hit it behind a tree and it like doesn't matter. Yeah, Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: yeah. So not the only thing that that was realistic is if you hit it like OB, right? Like that's that one. Yeah, okay, that tracks, that's still out of bounds. Dalton Audio: So not the only thing that that was realistic is if you hit it like OB, right? Like that's that one. Yeah, okay, that tracks. That's still out of bounds. but yeah, shot fairly well. I think I shot a 40 both times, which was fine. Obviously I wouldn't have shot that in real life because the short game and stuff and the penalty of being in in a bad lie wasn't wasn't really a thing. but the yardages were pretty consistent, flight was pretty consistent, the driver still massive slice, so I gotta figure that out. What was interesting, this is maybe not fix it here, but but GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: But yeah, shot fairly well. I think I shot a 40 both times, which is fine. Obviously, I wouldn't have shot that in real life because the short game and stuff and the penalty of being in a bad lie wasn't really a thing. but the yardages were pretty consistent, flight was pretty consistent, the driver still massive slice, so I gotta figure that out. What was interesting, this is maybe not fix it here, but but my little rescue hybrid club that I have, which is like a three-iron hybrid type of club, pretty much dead straight. The three wood that I have. Dalton Audio: My little rescue hybrid club that I have, which is like a three iron hybrid type of club, pretty much dead straight. The three wood that I have off the deck, off a T, pretty much dead straight. But the driver's just these huge slices still. And so I'm like, man, those are like especially the three wood to the driver. It's like I would think that would be more similar than it is. so I gotta figure that out. I gotta figure out what am I doing wrong, what it what's different. Is it a shaft issue? Is it I got I just gotta GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Off the deck, off a T, pretty much dead straight, but the driver's just these huge slices still. And so I'm like, man, those are like especially the three wood to the driver. It's like I would think that would be more similar than it is. so I gotta figure that out. I gotta figure out what am I doing wrong, what it what's different, is it a shaft issue? Is it I got I just gotta dig into that and figure out why. Is it a mental thing? Probably. so yeah. Dalton Audio: dig into that and figure out why. Is it a mental thing? Probably. so so so yeah. Chris Audio: Always. Dalton Audio: yeah, right. So that was that was pretty good. the first time I did it felt a little bit of pain kind of through, but nothing like major. So I I kept going. But then the second time I did it, yeah the chat's laughing. It was fine. No, no, no no setbacks or anything like that. The second time I did it it was like totally pain free. Like no issues, no drama. So GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, right. So that was that was pretty good. the first time I did it felt a little bit of pain kind of through, but nothing like major. So I I've kept going. But then the second time I did it, yeah, the chat's laughing. It was fine. No no no no setbacks or anything like that. The second time I did it, it was like totally pain free. Like no issues, no drama. So Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: that was pretty encouraging. Dalton Audio: that was pretty encouraging. you know, i at at top golf what they do there because you can't putt, right? Like you the short game it's like you can't do it. you chip to one of their like one of the two fifty yard targets, and depending on what bay you are, like some are closer than the other. So it ends up like somewhere fifty to sixty yards. and I tell you what, my I was using a sixty degree most of the time on those. and I was throwing darts in those. So like that was kinda like, Hey, like I'm that that GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: You know, i at at top golf what they there, 'cause you can't putt, right? Like you the short game, it's like you can't do it. Right. you chip to one of their like one of the two fifty yard targets. And depending on what bay you are, like some are closer than the other. So it ends up like somewhere fifty to sixty yards. and I tell you what, my I was using a sixty degree most of the time on those. and I was throwing darts in those. So like that was kind of like, Hey, like I'm that that Chris Audio: Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Right. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: built a little bit of confidence for when I get back out there, like, okay, I've been pretty consistent hitting a target with with this shot. because I know I'm not going to be on the green in regulation when I get back out there. so that should build a little bit of confidence to like get the ball close. So once you once you get on the green, they they have you chip at one of those? Yeah, it's it's within I think I figured it out. It's within 25 yards. So you get within 25 yards of the hole, then you do Dalton Audio: built a little bit of confidence for when I get back out there, like, okay, I've been pretty consistent hitting a target with with this shot. 'cause I know I'm not gonna be on the green in regulation when I get back out there. so that should build a little bit of confidence till I get the ball close. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: So once you once you get on the green, they they have you chip at one of those targets? Dalton Audio: Yeah, it's it's within I think I figured it out, it's within twenty-five yards. So you get within twenty-five yards of the hole, then you do one of these chips. But the close so there was one shot, I think it was a par three, and I hit it like two feet. Like I hit it so I was like, I'm gonna hole out on this on this par three. And I was now I got a chip from 50 yards for like a birdie into this like little tiny I was like, that's messed up. Like this is for sure a birdie. But to to top golf. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: one of these chips, but the close so there was one shot, I think it was a par three, and I hit it like two feet. Like I hit it so I was like, I'm gonna hole out on this on this par three. And I was like, now I got a chip from 50 yards for like a birdie. And this like little tiny messed up. Like this is for sure a birdie. But I've Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Right. Right. Hey, listen, I've GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I've had a few where I'm you know putting six feet and all of a sudden now I'm chipping from thirty. So don't know so Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I've had a few where I'm, you know, putting from six feet and all of a sudden now I'm chipping from thirty, so don't worry. Dalton Audio: Yeah, it's right. So to Topgolf's credit, what they did in that scenario is the birdie like target instead of being a small circle was like gigantic. so they do kind of like if you're really close, they do reward you. so it it and if you're really f if you you're like twenty-two yards away still, then like the the best score is like a tiny, tiny target. so the it does kind of track a little bit, but not it's obviously not putting, right? And if you're in a bunker. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: To Top Golf's credit, what they did in that scenario is the birdie like target instead of being a small circle was like gigantic. Yeah. so they do kind of like if you're really close, they do reward you. so it it and if you're really f if you you're like twenty two yards away still, then like the the best score is like a tiny, tiny target. so that it does kind of track a little bit, but not it's obviously not putting, right? And if you're in a bunker, Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, okay. Chris Audio: Mm. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: there's no penalty. Dalton Audio: There's no penalty, right? If you're so there it it doesn't it definitely doesn't translate on the short game stuff, but but yeah felt good felt good to get through all the sticks. yardages were like pretty good. Gap wedge carry like one thirty three, one thirty four. eight iron carry one sixty three. driver had one carry was like two eighty. so yardages were definitely coming coming back. which is pretty good. That felt that felt that felt nice. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Right. If you're so there it it doesn't it definitely doesn't translate on the short game stuff, but but yeah, felt good. Felt good to get through all of the sticks. yardages were like pretty good, gap wedge carry was like one thirty three, one thirty four. eight iron carry one sixty three. driver had one carry was like two eighty. so yardages were definitely coming coming back. just pretty good. That felt that felt that felt nice. Well your ball's already your ball is already crapping on top of mine as it flies over it. So and I'm and I'm allegedly fully healthy. I'm just old. So Chris Audio: Pretty good. Dalton Audio: But Chad, what about Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Well, your ball's already your ball is already crapping on top of mine as it flies over it. So and I'm and I'm allegedly fully healthy. I'm just old. So Dalton Audio: No GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: what have you been playing, Chad? Dalton Audio: What have you been playing, Chad? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, so last last I had a couple rounds last week. I played so for the first time since I joined, I played the the public course in town. I you know went slightly out there, you know. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, so last last I had a couple rounds last week. I played so for the first time since I joined, I played the the public course in town. I you know went slightly went out there, you know, with all those slack jaws, you know, those those non private club members. No, I'm just kidding. That that I I've always liked that place. That's actually where I've shot my best round ever. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: With all those slack jaws, you know, those those non private club members. No, I'm just kidding. That that I I've always liked that place. That's actually where I've shot my best round ever, was the is the public course here in town. That was I think I was in college when that happened, but but it but had a great time. With played with a guy that I used to play softball with, but they they're candidly they're Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: was the is the public course here in town. That was I think I was in college when that happened, but but it but had a great time. Wasn't played with a guy that I used to play softball with. But they their candidly their GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Some their greens overall are better shape than ours. wow. I mean I know they're trying real hard at our place, but Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: some their greens overall are better shape than ours. So I don't mean to I know they're trying real hard at our place, but Dalton Audio: wow. Chris Audio: A for effort. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: calling a spade a spade here. So so did that did that day after Labor Day and and then Friday last week had had another round at the course, brought a brought a guest out there, a guy who's who's who's played a couple times with me out there, good Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: call on a spade a spade here. So so did that did that day after Labor Day and and then Friday last week had a had another round at the course, brought a brought a guest out there, a guy who's who's who's played a couple times with me out there, a good good golfer and just a good time to play. And and and so those were those were fun. Played played pretty well. And the fun thing about being a high handicapper is you can GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: good golfer and just a good time to play and and and so those those were fun. Played played pretty well. And the fun thing about being a high handicapper is you can so I think in like three days which was playing two rounds, I think I dropped like a full stroke off my off my handicap. Which is hard to do when you're a you know five. It's not as hard when you're a nineteen but Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: So I think in like three days, which was playing two rounds, I think I dropped like a full stroke off my off my handicap, which is hard to do when you're you know, five. It's not as hard when you're a nineteen, but Dalton Audio: That's awesome. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: so that that was that was fun. So and then the other the only other thing I've I've done is you know, so did that did the GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So that that was that was fun. So and then the other the only other thing I've I've done is you know, so did that did the lessons last weekend and and got some drills and things to do. And then, you know, as as we talk, you know, Chris mentioned the ten thousand reps is like is like ten thousand is like the that's the the key to everything. I think it's like that's that's where you become a Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: lessons last weekend and and got some drills and things to do. And then, you know, as as we talk, you know, Chris mentioned the 10,000 reps is like is like 10,000 is like the that's the the key to everything. I think it's like that's that's where you become a a professional in 10,000 hours is in in doing your job. This become a professional, blah, blah, blah. Ten thousand reps. sounds like a lot, but it's probably GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: professional in ten thousand hours is in in doing your job, this become a professional, blah, blah, blah. Ten thousand reps. sounds like a lot, but it's probably probably true. So so built this because we are nerds, built this spreadsheet of, you know, how many how many you know, reps with feedback I've had you know working on the the things that I'm trying to get rid of in my swing and and how many days we've got until Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Probably true. So so built this because we are nerds, built this spreadsheet of, you know, how many how many you know, reps with feedback I've had, you know, working on the the things that I'm trying I'm trying to get rid of in my swing and and how many days we've got until GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: you know, like March first, like opening of next season, and then this the big the big tournament that the three of us and our homie Kanji play in Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: you know, like March first, like opening of next season, and then this the big the big tournament that the three of us and our homie Kenji play in. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: over the summer. Does your club close for the winter? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Over the summer, Chris Audio: Does does your club close for the winter? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Actually don't know. I don't know if it actually closes, but I can tell you it's really damn it in so it's hitting the frozen golf balls, maybe not. They might be a bad time. Fair enough. If if they don't, I do. So Yeah, I don't know. I mean we we'll have days where it's like, you know, certainly nice enough to get out there and play. And I don't even I I this this'll be my first winter. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Actually don't know. I don't know if it actually closes, but I can tell you it's really damn cold here. So it's if they if if if they don't I do. So yeah, I don't know. I mean we we'll have days where it's like you know, certainly nice enough to get out there and play and I don't even I I this this'll be my first winter. Chris Audio: You're packing it in. Dalton Audio: Hitting a frozen golf ball is maybe not my idea of a good time. Chris Audio: Okay, fair enough. Ha ha ha ha ha. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: being a member here. So I I have no idea. I would I would think you can probably get out there at some point. But but yeah, it's there there's I there there's gonna be significant chunks of days where it's I don't I don't care how open it is or what kind of drink specials you got going on at the course I ain't going. So so we'll see. So so it kinda built all that and try to try to get an idea of how many how many reps I need to get per week, you know, to get to get right by these Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: being a member here. So I I have no idea. I would I would think you can probably get out there at some point. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: made up goals that I've got in my head. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: very important goals. Yeah. They are they are important just to me, but they are important. So Dalton Audio: Very important goals. We play to win. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. They are they are important, just to me, but they are important. So so GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: yeah. Nice. All right. Well let's head over to our approach scenario here. We got it from Chris and just a reminder, this is our you're teeing up a a scenario for us. Give us everything we need to know, no more, no less. you'll hear what Chad and I think on how we would approach it. Dalton Audio: Nice. All right, well let's head over to our approach scenario here. We got it from Chris and just a reminder, this is our you're teeing up a a scenario for us. Give us everything we need to know, no more, no less. you'll hear what Chad and I think on how we would approach it. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah. Chris Audio: Yeah. So I've actually had this come up a couple of times in the last couple weeks. starting a new business and or a new venture. So existing business. maybe that's bringing on a partner, something like that, to do something else or something that's related. Or just some new businesses getting started, you know, two people or more this decide, like, hey, you know, want to do this thing, want to make some money. So the question inevitably inevitably. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So I've actually had this come up a couple of times in the last couple weeks. starting a new business and or a new venture. Chris Audio: gets to what should we open? Should we have an LLC? Is this a partnership? Is this an and it always goes to, you know, should we have an escort? so I'm kind of wondering like how do you guys navigate that conversation and how do you think about how to advise a potential client on, you know, how how should you organize yourself and and how do you just kind of go about GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: gets to what should we open? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: that? Yeah. I'll Dalton Audio: Yeah, I'll I'll take the lead on this because I'm a I'm assuming, Chad, given your line of work, you may not run into this one as much, but you you jump in, but I'll feel feel free to correct me or or or disagree where where I misspeak. yeah, I literally have an email from an hour ago from a client. This exact same question. Exact same question. This one has to do with trying to fund musicals in New York, right? They're gonna start investing more heavily into them and they're trying to figure it out. So weird, right? Apparently. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I'll take the lead on this because I'm a I'm assuming, Chad, given your line of work, you may not run into this one as much, but you you jump in, but I'll feel feel free to correct me or or or disagree where where I misspeak. yeah, I literally have an email from an hour ago from a client. They're gonna start investing more heavily into them and they're trying to figure it out. So weird. You're gonna invest in musicals? Apparently. Chris Audio: Yeah. All the time. You can invest the musicals? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I guess and then if they're profitable, like you make money on top, right? Like think about like a movie, I guess same idea. That's the thing. It's like like PE for like musicals. Dalton Audio: I guess and then if they're profitable like you make money on top, right? Like think about like a movie, I guess same idea. Chris Audio: Okay. That's the thing. It's like like PE for like musicals. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Sounds like it. Somebody's gotta fund it, right? Yeah. Wow. I had no idea. I mean it's probably probably more profitable than what I do for a living. Dalton Audio: Sounds like it. Somebody's gotta fund it, right? Yeah, yeah. So yeah, so Chris Audio: Okay. I had no idea. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Wow. I'm in. I mean it's probably probably more profitable than what I do for a living, so I'm sure. Chris Audio: Ha ha GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah. So my my first my first like kind of kick is like, okay, are you doing anything where like you think you could be sued and it would be bad? Dalton Audio: Yeah. So my my first my first like kind of kick is like, okay, are you doing anything where like you think you could be sued and it would be bad? Right? Like are you a brain surgeon? Do you have something where like people are gonna be in something you own and it could break and like hurt them? right. And if that's a thing, then it's like, okay, do an LLC. Right? Like no no doubt about it. Ask your business attorney because we can't give legal advice at CPAs. But GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Right. Like, are you a brain surgeon? Do you have something where like people are gonna be in something you own and it could break and like hurt them? right. And if that's a thing, then it's like, okay, do an LLC. Right. Like, no no doubt about it. Ask your business attorney because we can't give legal advice to CPAs. But Chris Audio: Mm. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: if if you have exposure, go LLC. Because as an LLC, you can always elect to be treated as a corporation and then make an S election, right? So you can end up as an S Corp tax-wise i and have the the protection of an LLC. Dalton Audio: If if you have exposure, go LLC. Because as an L L C you can always elect to be treated as a corporation and then make an S election, right? So you can end up as an S Corp tax wise i and have the the protection of an LLC. so that's always my first question. Like, are you doing anything where like you think you're gonna get have exposure? and would that liability in quote unquote insurance give you any kind of value? Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So that's always my first question. Like, are you doing anything where like you think you're gonna get have exposure? and would that liability and quote unquote insurance give you any kind of value? let me ask you this. Is there ever Chris Audio: Let me ask you this, is there ever a GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: a situation where you where your first your first inclination isn't is to is not to tell them, hey, go talk to an attorney? Chris Audio: situation where you where your first your first inclination is is to is not to tell them, hey, go talk to an attorney. Dalton Audio: not maybe not first inclination, but it's definitely like, I don't want you to I don't want you to do anything without talking to an attorney. Here's what I think from a tax side. You need to bounce this for a legal side and kind of see what what they think and if you have any kind of exposure. I mean we hit on this last week about the TikTok advice. Like I'll tell my clients, man, if you are if you are super bright and you really GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: not maybe not first inclination, but it's definitely like I don't want you to do anything without talking to an attorney. Here's what I think from a tax side. You need to bounce this for a legal side and kind of see what what they think and if you have any kind of exposure. I mean we hit on this last week about the TikTok advice. Like I'll tell my clients, man, if you are if you are super bright and you really Chris Audio: But high on the list, right? Dalton Audio: got this stuff figured out and attention to detail and you kinda have a general understanding of stuff, maybe, maybe you could set something up really dog simple on legal zoom or something like that. Maybe. But if this is gonna be your like, this is what I make my money doing and this needs to be right and I need to sleep at night, then you should pay an attorney to do it right. Right. Like that's that's kind of my that's that's my general and I'm not an attorney. I don't get any money from that, right? That's what I was telling like I get no money from this. This is what I think. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: got this stuff figured out and attention to detail and you kinda have a general understanding of stuff, maybe, maybe you could set something up really dog simple on legal Zoom or something like that. Maybe. But if this is gonna be your like, this is what I make my money doing and this needs to be right and I need to sleep at night, then you should pay an attorney to do it right. Right. Like that's so that's kind of my that's that's my general and I'm not an attorney. I don't get any money from that, right? That's what I was telling like I get no money from this. This is what I think. Chris Audio: Maybe. Yeah, but and legal Zim is kind of the same as Chat GPT. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: and legal Zoom is kind of the same as ChatGPT. Yes, exact if you know exactly what you need and you put in everything it's turbotax. Legal Zoom is TurboTax. If you know exactly how to answer every question, you understand what every like significant question means if you say yes or no, then you can probably do it. If you don't, probably not probably not a good option. Dalton Audio: Yes, exactly. If you know exactly what you need and you put in everything, it's like turbo tax. Legal Zoom is turbo tax. If you know exactly how to answer every question, you understand what every like significant question means if you say yes or no, then you can probably do it. If you don't, probably not probably not a good option. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Chris Audio: Yeah. Yeah. Dalton Audio: okay, so that's that's question one is like the liability side. And then it comes down to profitability for me because the S Corp, I say if you're not consistently clearing 100K. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Okay, so that's that's question one is like the liability side. And then it comes down to profitability for me because the S Corp, I say if you're not consistently clearing a hundred K, the administrative quote unquote, costs to having to run payroll, having to in California we have an eight hundred dollar I mean you have that for LLC either way, you have an eight hundred dollar minimum tax. you gotta file a corporate tax return. If you have a single member LLC, that's a that's a a more streamlined filing than a whole corporate tax return. at least at our firm, we bill differently for those. Dalton Audio: The administrative quote unquote costs to having to run payroll. Having to in California, we have an $800, I mean you have that for LLC either way. You have an $800 minimum tax. you've got to file a corporate tax return. If you have a single member LLC, that's a that's a a more streamlined filing than a whole corporate tax return. at least at our firm, we bill differently for those. and so if you think about the the quote unquote tax savings of an S-corp, it's on that distribution percentage. Let's say that's 30K out of 100K. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And so if you think about the the quote unquote tax savings of an S-corp, it's on that distribution percentage. Let's say that's 30K out of 100K, right? If you have 70 K as your quote unquote comp, 30K at 12.5% self-employment tax is about 3,500 bucks. I think, ish, right around there. and so you think about like, okay, you got to pay somebody to process payroll, you gotta pay somebody to file a tax return. those fees add up, and until you're consistently clearing 100k. Dalton Audio: Right, if you have 70K as your quote unquote comp, thirty K at twelve and a half percent self-employment tax is about thirty five hundred bucks. I think ish, right around there. and so you think about like, okay, you gotta pay somebody to process payroll, you gotta pay somebody to file a tax return. those fees add up, and until you're consistently clearing a hundred K, S Corp may not be worth it. You may pay you you'll pay less in tax, but you'll pay more overall between tax and administrative costs. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: S Corp may not be worth it. You may pay you you'll pay less in tax, but you'll pay more overall between tax and administrative costs than you would by just having an LLC. Dalton Audio: than you would by just having an LLC. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, I think I think I think that's Chris Audio: I actually got a I actually got a really good follow up question this week on that exact same thing. But what do you mean by clearing a hundred K? Is it gross or is it net? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I actually got a really good follow-up question this week on that exact same thing. But what do you mean by clearing a hundred K? Is it gross or yeah. Yep. So so basically, like if you have a business and let's say you're bringing in $150,000, in between Dalton Audio: yeah. Yep. So so basically like if you have a business and let's say you're bringing in a hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and between Chris Audio: Revenue grubs. Dalton Audio: gross, yep, so so all the money in, no, no, no expenses, nothing coming out. And then by for any kind of supplies you need or labor or anything, right? Like any cost going out, let's say that's another seventy thousand dollars. So you're left with eighty, hundred and fifty, take out the seventy of the expenses, you're left with eighty K. That's GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Gross, yep. So so all the money in, no no no expenses, nothing coming out. And then by for any kind of supplies you need or labor or anything, right? Like any cost going out, let's say that's another $70,000. So you're left with $80, $150, take out the 70 of the expenses, you're left with 80 K. That's what you have available to pay yourself. If that number that's left to pay yourself isn't consistently a hundred K. Dalton Audio: what you have available to pay yourself. If that number that's left to pay yourself isn't consistently a hundred K, it's not worth it for me. In my in my calculations when I've run it to do the S election or the S Corp. now if you hit let's say you're sixty K, sixty K, sixty K year after year, and then one year you hit a hundred and fifty K, but you know you're gonna go back down to sixty K, it's still not worth it. so it's until you get to a hundred K and you're like, this is my new normal and I I I'm GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: It's not worth it for me. In my in my calculations when I've run it to do the S election or the S Corp. now if you hit, let's say you're 60K, 60K, 60K year after year, and then one year you hit 150K, but you know you're gonna go back down to 60K, it's still not worth it. so it's until you get to a hundred K and you're like, this is my new normal, and I I I'm projecting based on the deals I'm closing that it's going to keep increasing until you're in that model, it it's not worth it. Dalton Audio: projecting based on the deals I'm closing that it's going to keep increasing until you're in that model, it it's not worth it. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, I think I think for us, like what I've always I've always heard that hundred K number two, and that's so but so for my practice, I do a test work. So by the time people get to me, that they're well down the road in this yeah, you know, decision. Like they've they've been operating long enough that banks want they're by tax you mean you mean audit. audit, reviews, any of that stuff. Like like by the time you get to me, you like there's someone wanting you Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah, I think I think for us, like what I've always I've always heard that hundred K number two, and that's so but so for my practice, I do the test work. So by the time people get to me, that they're well down the road in this, you know, decision. Like they've they've been operating long enough that banks want they they've got banks audit, reviews, any of that stuff. Like like by the time you get to me, you like there's someone wanting you Chris Audio: And by test you mean you mean audit. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: To use people like me for something otherwise, why would you? You know, why would you? No, that's I c I never never mind. but I've always heard that hundred K threshold too, and that's just kind of loosely where where we start. But and and this is mostly for like friends who started up businesses, thing things of that nature. So like what I always talk to them about is is it the two key things in this are legal aspects. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: to use people like me for something otherwise, why would you? You know, why would you No, that's I c I never never mind. but I've always heard that hundred K threshold too. Chris Audio: Ha ha GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Like I I really want that to be if not the driver, one of yeah, want it to be in the in the fr the front seat, either not driving, but it's definitely the passenger if it's not. And then and then the admin costs. like admin costs are third I think those are such those are thrown away so often in all this crap advice that just gets spewed out on social media and things like start a whatever for Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Like I I really want that to be if not the driver, one of yeah, want it to be in the in the fr the front seat, either not driving, but it's definitely the passenger if it's not. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: to do this business. I'm like, okay, you're you're gonna make X and you're gonna pay X plus a hundred in administrative costs for your your filings. You gotta file a tax return, you gotta do all these state filings. Like that stuff is not free. So those those are the those are the two the two things that I always I always talk about with them. And then I and then obviously I usually defer once we get to what specifically works best for you. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: to do this business. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: in your s in your situation. But but though I think those are the two key things that you have to put right at the forefront and figure out early on and and not involve all the sunshine and rainbows that are that are barfed out on social media about all these different entities you can set up. I think that's one of the worst things that there's a lot of really bad things that have come from social media. That's one of the worst. Yeah, I I I totally agree. I think Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: in your s in your situation. But but th I think those are the two key things that you have to put right at the forefront and figure out early on and and not involve all the sunshine and rainbows that are that are barfed out on social media about all these different entities you can set up. I think that's one of the worst things that there's a lot of really bad things that have come from social media. That's one of the worst I think is Chris Audio: What do you mean? Dalton Audio: Yeah, I I I totally agree. I think one of my one of my big I don't want to say a pet peeve, but almost is when I get a client like, yeah, I formed an LLC in Montana or Delaware or Nevada. It's yeah, Wyoming, sure. And it's like, but like you live in California and you're consulting and like you never leave the state. Like everything you do is gonna be in California. It's like, yeah, but I heard I saw online if I say, dude, you you are like GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: one of my one of my big I don't want to say a pet peeve but almost is when I get a client like yeah I formed an LLC in Montana or Delaware or Nevada. Wyoming yeah Wyoming sure and it's like but like you live in California and you're consulting and like you never leave the state like everything you do is gonna be in California. So like yeah but I heard I saw online if I was like dude you you are like Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Chris Audio: Wyoming. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: you are like the most simplified business. You don't need any of that like Dalton Audio: You were like the most simplified business. You don't need any of that like complicated stuff. All that's doing is increasing costs, increasing filings, increasing complexity. Why? Like why why did you go close that thing down and form one in California where everything is gonna be anyways? GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Complicated stuff. All that's doing is increasing costs, increasing filings, increasing complexity. Why? Like, why why did you go close that thing down and form one in California where everything is gonna be anyways? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Right. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I honestly think some of this comes down to just almost like ego reasons to do things because like it it it apparently feels better to say I own five companies or I own I started an LLC this year, and every time we get to the end of the year and somebody's like Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I I honestly think some of this comes down to just almost like ego reasons to do things because like it it it apparently feels better to say I own five companies or I o I you know I started an LLC this year and every time we get to the end of the year and somebody's like, Dalton Audio: Mm. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: We spun up a entity to do this, I'm like, You dumbass. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: We spun up a entity to do this. I'm like, you dumbass. Chris Audio: Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Maybe this'll work out for you, but probably not. Okay, tell us about it. What you do. Yeah. It seems like the the forming an entity is like the precursor to like proof of concept. You know? It's like they haven't even figured out if it's gonna work and they formed it. It's like, my gosh, the headache to form it and to file and to unwind it. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Maybe this'll work out for you, but probably not. Okay, tell us about it. What you do. Like Dalton Audio: Yeah. It it seems like the the forming an entity is like the precursor to like proof of concept. You know? It's like they haven't even figured out if it's gonna work and they formed it. It's like, my gosh, the headache to form it and to file and to unwind it. Chris Audio: Mm. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Right, right. Yes. Yeah. How do I get rid of this thing now? Like, well, you you gotta pay us another thousand dollars for that. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: How do I get rid of this thing now? Like it's like pay us another thousand dollars for that. Dalton Audio: Yeah, it's like, well, maybe we should have figured Yeah, right? Maybe we should have figured out if we could actually make a little bit of money before we we form these things. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, right? Maybe we should have figured out if we could actually make a little bit of money before we we form these things. By the way, one of the things we didn't talk about is allocations. If you've got weird allocations, S Corp is not your thing. yeah, for sure. You've got to go partnership. Yeah. Yeah, 100%. 100%. Which is kind of where I was going. But like if you've got you know, if you're fifty fifty, but you're Chris Audio: By the way, one of the things we didn't talk about is allocations. If you've got weird allocations, S Corp is not your thing. Dalton Audio: yeah, for sure. Yep. Then you gotta go partnership. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: like partners and Yeah, yeah. I think Chris Audio: Right. Yeah, a hundred percent. Hundred percent. Which is kinda where I was going. But like if you've got you know, if you're fifty fifty but your your profit split is not gonna be fifty fifty, distribute distribution split's not gonna be fifty fifty, like you are not that's not an escort for short. Nope. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Your profit split is not gonna be fifty fifty, distribu distribution split's not gonna be fifty fifty. Like you are not, that's not an escort for sure. Can't be escort. Nope. Everything's Dalton Audio: Yep. Can't be escorp. Nope. Everything's gotta Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: gotta be even. Even Steven, you know. I I think that's a massive sometimes awkward conversation that that needs to be had up front, regardless of what type of entity you have, is do you like if you're so I I don't know if this is a the hot take or not, but I am Dalton Audio: be even. Even Steven, yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I I think that's a massive sometimes awkward conversation that that needs to be had up front, regardless of what type of entity you have, is do you like if you're so I I don't know if this is a the hot take or not, but I am in the camp of if you don't need a partner, don't have one. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: In the camp of if you don't need a partner, don't have one. If you can do if some if there's not somebody who's bringing something to the table that enhances the overall pie, just own it yourself because there like there are my god, how many wildly profitable companies have we seen sell out because the partners don't get along? They disagree on something along the way. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: If you can do if some if there's not somebody who's bringing something to the table that enhances the overall pie, just own it yourself because there like there are my god, how many wildly profitable companies have we seen sell out because the partners don't get along, they disagree on something along the way, Dalton Audio: Right. Yeah. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: and and so it doesn't even really always come down to GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And and so it doesn't even really always come down to you know, allocations and things like that. Some of these some of these are just personality conflicts that develop over time. I don't know what the stats are on businesses, but it it wouldn't stun me if it's if it's similar. So I think that's so spot on. So spot on. Like one of the one of the biggest common mistakes that we see is Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: you know, allocations and things like that. Some of the some of these are just personality conflicts that develop over time. They're like it's like a it's like a marriage and half the marriages in this country and in divorce. You know, I don't know what the stats are on businesses, but I it wouldn't stun me if it's if it's similar. So Chris Audio: I think that's so spot on. So spot on. Like one of one of the biggest common mistakes that we see is you you pick the wrong partner. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: You you pick the wrong partner. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Or or pick one you didn't need it to begin with. So yeah. I think I think a lot of people are are are freaked out about doing something on their own, which I I totally get. or or get put in these almost kind of arranged marriages and and owning a business together. And like it's it you really need to be aligned strategically. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah. Right. Or or pick one you didn't need it to begin with. So I think a I think a lot of people are are are freaked out about doing something on their own, which I I totally get. or or get put in these almost kind of arranged marriages and and owning a business together. And like it's it you really need to be aligned strategically Chris Audio: Yeah, a hundred percent. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And conceptually on what you're gonna do as a business, what your goals are, what you Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: and conceptually on what you're going to do as a business, what your goals are, what you w you know, what you want to do with with profits and money at the end, because that's usually where, you know, the the fights come from. if you're not aligned on that stuff, then then I would seriously rethink what you're doing before you even get into it because it is wildly expensive to get out. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: you know, what you wanna do with with profits and money at the end, because that's usually where, you know, the the fights come from. Yeah. if you're not aligned on that stuff, then then I would r seriously rethink what you're doing before you even get into it 'cause it is wildly expensive to get out. Yep. I think complimentary skill sets too. Like Chris Audio: I think complimentary skill sets too. Like partner A is really good at this thing, partner B is really good at this thing, and never the two shall meet and it's very complimentary and you're you know, those two things work well together. When that's not the case, that's that's kinda when you get the butting heads and all sorts of stuff. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Partner A is really good at this thing, partner B is really good at this thing, and never the two shall meet and it's very complimentary and you're you know, those two things work well together. When that's not the case, that's that's kinda when you get the butting heads and yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yes. Dalton Audio: Mm-hmm. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yes. Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Cool. Awesome. Well let's let's work our way back to these beers here, kind of wrap up and do some final scoring here. again our our scoring one and two, no thanks. Three and four, only if it's free. Five and six, solid. Seven and eight, that's a good beer. Nine and ten, holy grail. Chris, what are you what are you thinking? Dalton Audio: Cool, awesome. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So I'm an IPA guy and I think you know, if you ever watch like the Port Noite Pizza Reviews and he's got his like base he's got like his base rating, you know. I think a base rating for me is six on an IPA scale. Chris Audio: So I'm an IPA guy and I think you know, if you ever watch like the Port Noite Pizza Reviews and he's got his like base he's got like his base rating, you know. I think a base rating for me is six on an IPA scale. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Dalton Audio: yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Okay. So you know you're probably even a bad IPA. You're like, yeah, I'll have this again, but I'm mad about it. Dalton Audio: Okay. Yeah, you already know you're probably gonna like it. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: So bad even a bad I even a bad IPA, you're like, Yeah, I'll have this again, but I'm mad about it. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Unless it's a marshmallow bunny IPA, then then probably no. Dalton Audio: Unless it's a marshmallow bunny IPA, then then probably no. Chris Audio: It's just it's a zero. So I'm gonna say that this is like a five s this is a five six. Yeah. It tastes more like a core's light than it does an IPA. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: It's a zero. So I'm gonna say that this is like a five s this is a five six. okay. Yeah. A little little underwhelming. It tastes more like a coors light than it does an IPA. Dalton Audio: Okay. So a little little underwhelming. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Mm. That is surprising. Dalton Audio: That is surprising. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: It is surprising. And I'll and I'll drink a lot of coors lights, but that's that's not good. Chris Audio: It is surprising. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: See and I'll and I'll and I'll dr and I'll drink a lot of Coors Lights, but that's that's not good. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yes, but what in fairness, when I was handed this four pack of beer, the person who handed it to me said, You're gonna like these two, you're not gonna like these two. And sure enough, here we are. Okay. Chris Audio: Yes, but w in fairness, when I was handed this four pack of beer, the person who handed it to me said, You're gonna like these two, you're not gonna like these two and sure enough, here we are. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Okay. Dalton Audio: Fair enough. Okay. All right. All right. Question question for you on that one. Would it be would it be it's hot outside, you're golfing, easy to drink. Would that would that make it like a hot 'cause I'm I always think like Corz Light, I don't really like drinking those, but if it's hot outside and I'm thirsty, they're pretty good. Chris Audio: Yeah, so fair enough. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Okay. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: All right. Yeah. Question question for you on that one, would it be would it be it's hot outside, you're golfing, easy to drink. Would that would that make it like a hot because I'm I always think like Coors Light, I don't really like drinking those, but if it's hot outside and I'm thirsty, they're pretty good. No, if I want a course light, I'm just gonna drink a coarse light. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Mm. Chris Audio: No. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Chris Audio: No, if I'm on a course light, I'm just gonna drink a course light. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Okay. So this is just like an an oddball, not worth it. Dalton Audio: Okay. So this is just like an an oddball. Not worth it. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, like if I want a late beer, I'm gonna drink a coarse light or a Miller light, and I'm gonna say that it's mostly water, I'm gonna be hydrated and everything's gonna be fine. Chris Audio: Yeah, like if I want a late beer, I'm gonna drink a coarse light or a Miller light and I'm gonna say that it's mostly water, I'm gonna be hydrated and everything's gonna be fine. Dalton Audio: Okay. Yep. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah. this is this is not that. Chris Audio: this is this is not that. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Five six. Chad, how about you? Okay. Dalton Audio: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Five six. Chad, how about you? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Okay. So the the the outer range fresh palette here. so just just for the record, whatever DDH does to things, I'm a I'm a fan. I'm gonna I'd seek it out. I am yeah, I don't know what that means, but I am on board. I've I Chris Audio: Ha ha ha. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: So the the the outer range fresh palette here. so just just for the record, d whatever DDH does to things, I'm a I'm a fan. I'm gonna Okay. Loving the DDH. I am D D H does a thing. Yeah, I don't know what that means, but I am on board. I've I've Dalton Audio: Okay, we're loving the D D H D D H Chris Audio: Whatever DDH doesn't make. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: feel and fear that I'm already becoming the cheer the beer cheerleader here and all my ratings are gonna be wildly GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: feel and fear that I'm already becoming the cheer the beer cheerleader here and all my ratings are gonna be wildly wildly out of range and that's fine because I'm you guys know me, I'm such a positive and happy person all the time. So I think this is pretty damn good. I really, really like this. Like c it's probably the fact that it's Colorado I s Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Wildly out of range, and that's fine because I'm you guys know me. I'm such a positive and happy person all the time. So I think this is pretty damn good. I really, really like this. Like call it's probably the fact that it's Colorado, I s you know subconsciously probably already had my mind made up that this was gonna be a banger, but I I really do think it is. it's got like a GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: you know, subconsciously probably already had my mind made up that this was gonna be a banger, but I I really do think it is. it's got like a Dalton Audio: Yeah. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: it's got a lot of dank qualities to it. It's it's almost like a so cannabis is illegal in Kansas. So I don't know what this is like, but it's almost got like a cannabis like hashtag don't do drugs. Like a restness like quality to it. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: got a lot of dank qualities to it. It's it's almost like a so cannabis is illegal in Kansas. So I don't know what this is like, but it's almost got like a cannabis like like a resin like quality to it. Yeah. Dalton Audio: Hashtag don't do drugs. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: some pine taste so I I I love it. I think it's I think it's it's awesome. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Some pine taste. So I I I love it. It's a very wandering beer of you. I don't even know where we Chris Audio: This is a very wandering beer review. I don't even know where we Dalton Audio: This is yeah, this is this is going Chris Audio: are right now. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: are right now. Dalton Audio: places. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: And Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: And before so I haven't even checked. 7.2. It's not that's not that that's not that bad. So you said that and I was like, my god, did I pick up like a ten percenter? but I love it. I probably liked last week's from a cigar city a little bit better, but not a not a lot. This is really good. I'm I'm gonna go GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: before so I haven't even checked. 7.2. It's not that's not that that's not that bad. So you said that and I was like, my God, did I pick up like a ten percenter? but I love it. I probably liked last week's from a Cigar City a little bit better, but not a not a lot. This is really good. I'm I'm gonna go Dalton Audio: Ha ha ha. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go eight point four on this. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: I'm gonna go I'm gonna go eight point four on this. Okay. Nice. Last week like a nine two or something like that? Yeah, nine it was it was it was high. We we'll have to okay, we'll have to get the scale up. No, you eight four. You locked it in eight four. Eight four. Chris Audio: Last week like a nine two or something like that? Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Nobody's I'll go I'll go eight I'll go eight seven then. No, just kidding. Eight four. Eight four. Eight four. Chris Audio: Part of you. All Dalton Audio: Nice. yeah, so I'm working GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Nice. All right. Not a bunny beer. Chris Audio: right, Dalton. Non bunny beer. GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Not a bunny beer. We we significantly improved. I got the El Segundo burn off hazy IPA. it's good. This is best beer I've had on the show. they're doing everything I like. so I did not disappoint. I did my homework, I brought a better beer as I was called out to do. you gotta have low ones too, right? For the people. Like you gotta have a scale that's you know, you don't think so? It's all good beer. Dalton Audio: Not a bunny beer. No, just all good beer. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Yeah. Chris Audio: No, you don't actually no. Yeah. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: Well GMT20260917 010359 Recording gallery 1280x720: Yeah, we'll have to check the bylaws. It's not no, okay. I hope not, because that last one was horrible. I'm gonna go eight point good beer. Yeah, for sure. My my best beer on the show so far. awesome. Well that'll do it. That that wraps up another episode of RDTFM. Thanks for hanging out with us, and we'll see you next time. Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA: I'll have to check the bylaws, but I we'll check the bylaws, but I don't think we have to do that. Dalton Audio: I hope so, because I don't wanna drink another one of those. Chris Audio: Ha ha ha. Dalton Audio: It's not no, okay. I hope not, because that last one was horrible. I'm gonna go eight point good beer. Yeah, for sure my my best beer on the show so far. awesome. Well that'd do it. That that wraps up another episode of RDT FM.
