You know, whether it's our families, whether it's our friends in different mediums. So I'm not gonna get in too deep into it as to why we've kinda been like away and why we kinda been like, you know, not really around. what I wanted to say is if there was any sort of if you felt like if you've been watching this podcast for a while now, if there's anything that you want to address that we might talk about that you feel may not be appropriate, please, you can DM me or you can DM AJ and we can talk about it further. but please try to keep that private. like I say we we we've strived a lot to to make sure that everything that we talk about is clean and it's it's appropriate for everybody. We don't we're not trying to set any trends. We're not trying to make any money. The whole point of this podcast really was to just catch up. It's literally in the name that it's been a minute podcast. You know, just two friends catching up on life and talking about sports and pop culture and what have you. So with that being said, I don't know if you want to to kinda like add to that or we can just kinda move on. I just wanted to speak my piece on that. Angus: Man, I appreciate that kind of sums up how we feel as a group. So, you know, we try to keep it you know, very neutral and wholesome as as possible. We just want to touch on certain topics as far as that is relevant in our lives and as we are two best friends, you know, we constantly are are growing as men. So we we share things of how we feel. And things that we see, we talk about it. We thought it would be a pretty cool project to record it with video and audio and post it, which is pretty vulnerable for both of us. But we do that for you guys. so you know, if you guys have any suggestions, maybe if there's things that you want to talk about, maybe you want to come on and talk about, we definitely encourage. but you know, at the end of the day, we just chopping it up as boys, man. We're gonna have fun doing this thing, so and we don't have to record. We don't have to post, which is something we did last night. You know, I just called up Trev. I said, I wanna do a podcast, but I said, you know what, I just I just wanna chop it up. We s we were on the phone for Trevor: Mm-hmm. Angus: about thirty, forty minutes to chop it up about just random stuff, man. So Trevor: Yeah. Angus: we we choose when and when we don't want to do this. And it and it's really for you guys just to enjoy our conversations 'cause we feel like we have great conversations and we want you guys to be a part of it. so with that being said, man, Trev, get us and get us going. Trevor: yeah man, NBA free agency. It has been a it's been a wild wild couple of months for free agency. Angus: Yeah. Trevor: And so so you wanna address the elephant in the room? Angus: You kn you know what's crazy? Trevor: Ryan J Ryan J Angus: You know, y you know you know what's crazy is that Like I think yes, the majority of us would have thought it would have been cool to see him play with Stephen Curry. As a huge Stephen Curry fan and a Warriors fan, you know, just to remind you guys, I know it's been a while, I'm a Buccaneers and Warriors fan, I like the Tampa Bay Rays, I like the Oakland A's, I like the Washington Caps, I like the the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'm not sure if Trevor likes hockey and baseball as much. But I do know that he likes the Jacks Jacksonville Jaguars and Orlando Magic. So that's just a recap on our teams. But I'm a I'm a huge Warriors fan. And so it would have been nice to see him play with LeBron just to see Stephen Curry actually have a real chance at contending for a championship. 'Cause the last few seasons is just it it hurts to watch. And it's like I want him to retire as a loyal Warriors member. But i I I'm getting to a point where I feel like how I felt with Mike Evans. I actually was one of those that advocated I wanted Mike Evans to go find him a healthy contract with a title contending team so that I can see him actually use the last bit of his good health and skills left for a good team that's actually gonna possibly Trevor: Well Angus: get him another ring. And I'm not gonna lie, him and Brock Purdy look good. You know what I mean? So Trevor: Yeah. Angus: that's how I'm starting to feel with Steph, because after we we missed out on LeBron, man, it's just It it it it sucks. It it really does. But to kind of bring it back to LeBron, man, it it it was an interesting, interesting, very, very chain of events is because we didn't really know how he wanted to play. I thought he could have went to Miami or Cleveland just to play a ball handler position. but then when I heard he picked the chance to go to Philly, I'm thinking, wow, he just wants to be a three and somewhat of a D type of guy. Maybe he he wants to start playing You know, maybe start off playing the first eight minutes and then be on the bench until like maybe the nine minute mark less than the second quarter. and maybe he comes in for situationals, but you know, then all of a sudden there's reports that he's actually gonna beat the point guard. And I'm just like from the initial reaction of him joining the team to even those news of hearing that he's gonna play the point guard position, the one person that I feel bad for in this whole situation is Tyreek Maxi. Because Tyreek Maxi has been playing incredibly. Outside of his mind, and Trevor: Okay. Angus: he has shown that he is about to be a a part of the new generation, a force to be reckoned with. You know what I mean? And it's like you know who I kinda compare him to? A more scoring like De'Aaron Fox, like in our era. 'Cause you had like you had Steph, you had Russell Westbrook, you had Chris Paul, you have Ray John Rondo, you have all these different type of point guards from a different era, but like Within like Steph's era, you've had a lot of different front guards and Steph was like the shooter, but De'Aaron Fox was like the speedster guy that can get to the to the bucket, he can dunk, and he can shoot every now and then, but he doesn't have a great shot. I think Tyreek Maxie is kind of like that De'Aaron Fox ish in this generation where he's a speedster guy. He can run circles around you, he can get to the to the cup and He's only better with the ball in his hand and setting up other players. I think Joel and Bede showed us last year he's still really, really good when, you know, when you're you know, giving him the proper time management. and then JB played his best year. He's a finals MVP and VJ Edgecomb looked absolutely amazing as a rookie last year. So I think with Jalen Brown, it was a perfect team. I think you guys can compete with Detroit, Boston, and New York, and then with an emerging Toronto and Orlando. I think they would have been fine, but then you add LeBron, it's a little overkill, and I believe it kind of puts them over the edge. So I expect a LeBron team with other all stars to be in the finals this year. I'm not even gonna sit there and play around with it. I think Philly definitely will be at least in the conference championship game. But it's just it was very, very surprising to see, man. Very, very surprising. he's doing a two year, eight million dollar deal. I mean, he doesn't need money. We know that. it's very surprising Trevor: No. Angus: that he would pick Philly, but I mean it makes more sense when you hear that he's gonna stay in New York and then travel. so I mean it i it kinda falls in line for him. I I'm not going for the narratives of ring chasing either. He doesn't have anything to prove left in his legacy. This just if he's able to get a ring, he's able to get a ring. Now if say if he goes back to back in these years, which is a possibility. Those six rings won't have the same credibility as Michael Jordan's does. Neither will it have the same credibility as the five that Magic Johnson has. But they will be legit. And and it will Trevor: Yeah. Angus: add to the legacy that he already has, which is a great legacy and it and he still is the best in this area. He's still a twenty one five and five guy. I think this year he goes down. I'm making my prediction and I'll pass it over to you. I I think he's if he's being the point guard, I I I think he'll probably end up scoring like twelve points. I think he'll I think well sometimes he'll pop off for fifteen to eighteen. We'll see him score twenty here and there when the game requires him and and and maybe you know, Joel Embiid is not playing. but I think he'll definitely average close to like six to seven rebounds a game, if not ten, and he'll definitely get like twelve to fifteen assists. He he will av he'll probably be he will be the leading assist leader. I I have LeBron James being the assist leader next year. Because I mean he's the smartest player in the game. So it's it's it's gonna be interesting. I my only thing is, before I pass it over to you, is athletic and condition is of LeBron. He's still 41 going on 42 this year. As the leading point guard in this league, can you at all times control the pace being the ball handler? Especially when you have other players on your team that like to run. So I get it, him and his outlet passes. He he he loves his little Tony Romo, his little Dallas Cowboys. But it's Trevor: Yeah. Angus: just like either the outlet passes have to be on point this season or they gotta be hitting that three man weave and they need to be going. But like I wanna see him at the end of the third quarter going into the fourth. Will those forty two year old knees by the time it's springtime, will you be able to pace yourself up and down the floor as the main ball handler? Will will we see him start off as the ball handler or end as the ball handler in situational? And will Tyrese Maxie ever get a chance to to control the offense again? Trevor: That's my you know, that's a couple things. I I was extremely honestly as far as like what I what I thought he was I thought he was gonna go back to Cleveland just just for the storyline itself. I thought he would try to end it in Cleveland. you know yeah, just for the Angus: Yeah. That was another decision. He met with all the background. Trevor: Yeah. Yeah, I I thought for the storyline he would just try to go back and and maybe him and Kyrie team back up, but I think, you know, Dallas they pr they pretty much shut that down. You know, they Angus: Mm-hmm. Trevor: they're trying to Dallas like, nah, we ain't about to help you out. think Washington Angus: Yeah, no. Trevor: said the same thing, like we ain't about to send A D to you. Like, nah. Angus: No reason to. Trevor: I yeah, I mean, he he's kinda like you you kinda almost train like another player, like a another Joel and B, like can he stay healthy? You know, Angus: Yeah. Trevor: if you bring A D back back with you. you know, honestly I think it it's it's gonna be like another situation in Miami where it's gonna be like who's gonna touch the ball most? Tyrese Angus: Mm-hmm. Trevor: Maxie really He Tyrese Maxie had a he had a coming coming out party like last year. And he was averaging what, twenty five shots a game at least. And Angus: Well, he he was having a coming out party in the playoffs before that, then let it into the last season where he really was like, Yeah, I'm here to stay Trevor: Yeah. So that I mean Jalen Brown, like you said, Jalen Brown had like an MVP caliber season. Angus: Mm-hmm. Trevor: Joel and B is Joel and B. We know what he can do when he's healthy. Angus: Yeah. Trevor: I just I just have concerns. obviously I mean I feel like they have ball handlers already, so I just I thought if he didn't go back to Cleveland, Miami would've been a good spot because at least he can be able to facilitate with Giannis and and Bam. I Angus: And bam, yeah. Trevor: I mean, listen, I'm the I don't mm I don't know why Miami didn't try to go after Steph. Honestly. Like as a ball hand. Angus: Well, they were trying to bring Clay. They went with they were trying to get Clay. They thought if they can get LeBron, they're gonna bring Clay. 'Cause you know LeBron loves his shooters. He has to have a shooter. You need to have Trevor: Yeah. Angus: a c he needs to have a corner guy and he needs to have a slasher and he needs to have a Trevor: Yeah. Angus: big man. That's I mean, that's just the recipe in this in this NBA. And I think that's why, you know, he was gonna get a shooter out of Steph. He was gonna have his slashers, he just needed his big man with A D and and and Golden State. You had everything you needed in Cleveland. I just don't think that they I don't think he liked what he heard at the meeting. I I think maybe he was just like, No, that's not for me anymore. This place is not I I I don't I don't think that Cleveland's the same place that he left in twenty eighteen. Trevor: I also don't think like Cleveland was willing to like give up certain people too. Because I don't know if they would have been able to keep everybody with that cap space. Like Angus: I think that they wanna I mean James Harden is still a free agent. I I think that either they wanted he maybe wanted them to bring him back or I I don't know. I really don't know. And LeBron's the type of person he wants to get his friends rings too. And he he he him and James Harden are are pretty good friends. So it's like I can see maybe him wanting to bring them back 'cause they haven't brought back James Harden yet. So you know, I would love to see the Warriors go after DeMar DeRozan. Trevor: Yeah. Angus: Possibly, but see what happens. I mean to have DeMar DeRosen and Jimmy Butler eventually together with I want to see how Trevor: Yeah. Angus: Yaxel plays, you know, but at least get together for like trade stock so you can go get Laurie. I don't know, something. Trevor: Yeah. Angus: But yeah, it's a very interesting decision that LeBron made, man. I mean it's it it's gonna be a a great NBA season. You know, one thing I kinda got past that whole like the NBA's not the same anymore. and the NFL's not the same anymore. I mean, for me, the NFL's a little different because it's one game every Sunday, but like with the NBA, you know what I realized? Like, we're in good hands, man. We have some really good young players that I'm excited to watch them develop. And Trevor: Yeah. Angus: I think that we came up to see some of the greatest air of like GOATs. 'Cause I I get it, like our fathers and our grandfathers got to watch some really great foundational players of the game. But I mean, look who they were playing. You know, that's no not to discredit them, but I mean they were playing like firemen and plumbers, you know. Trevor: Ha ha. Angus: And drug addicts and alcoholics and stuff. So it's like Yeah. Trevor: Don't forget the crackheads, yeah. Don't forget the crackheads. Angus: Yeah, the the addicts. You know what I mean? So it's just like You know, I I say like with all due respect, I just think that, you know, the people that we have, excluding like Michael Jordan and a few others. You know. But I feel like the the people that we have, like the goats of our era, you know, was some of the most great greatest basketball that we've ever seen. So but I do think that like the the kids that grew up watching them, they're they're really good, man. So I think the NBA's in good hands. LeBron hopefully retires in twenty twenty eight. We'll still have Steph for maybe like another season or two after that. we're still gonna have K D. If K D gets a team, I K D's a free agent soon. Trevor: Yeah. I mean you can bring them you can bring them slow, K D, anything too. Angus: And I was actually ho I was actually hoping that Warriors sign him, maybe, but I doubt it happened. Trevor: Then he ain't going back to c nah, he ain't going back to go on the street. Angus: He may go to like Shanghai in the way he can't keep off his Twitter. Like, dude. And now you got Klay Thompson. Like Klay Thompson just dated Megan Stalin, so you know he's feeling frisky. And and he and he coming for KD, talking about keep my g why you got my whole government in your in your mouth. Like Klay talking like a dark skin. Like crazy. Crazy Trevor: Yeah. Angus: one. Trevor: Listen, Clay Clay Angus: It's crazy. Trevor: didn't listen, Clay need to get him a rag and soap. Washed. Washed. Angus: Yeah, yeah. You know, th the thing about it with Clay, he's one of those players where He had a he had a game early on in his career, right? But he never really developed it past that. And when you have a particular game that you don't develop past a certain point, injury could refrain you to a specific like role and just type of playstyle that eventually will kind of just diminish your whole value altogether. And also, I just think that like I didn't notice it at first, but Klay has a lot of ego and pride. Cause I mean l let's just go back to leading up to him getting off the team, him throwing up four f fours in people's face. At first we were like, the quiet guy, Clay, you know, he's always constant seeing him do that. It's like, all right, yeah, Clay, throw your fours up. But now it's like, you know, you're doing it to someone that was like busting your behind the whole game. It's like at that point it doesn't really matter. He's still burning. Just because you have four rings don't mean nothing. I mean, you gotta you gotta stand on those four four rings. And he even Trevor: Yeah. Angus: admitted that was corny. And then going further, him like not liking that Steve Kerr benched him because he can't make a shot but thought he should be respected because he helped win for like like your productivity. It's like what can you do for me right now, not what you've done for me, you know, in the past. And and then if we're really looking at it, right? When he asks for money and we're looking at the two contracts that he only got from Dallas and Golden State Excuse me. Golden State gave him exactly what he wanted. He gave they Trevor: Mm-hmm. Angus: gave him more money and a longer contract. They gave him four years. I think it was like four years one eighty or four years one sixty. But he only took He took he took Dallas's three year one thirty. He took less money. Cause he just wanted to leave at that point, 'cause at that point he just burned Trevor: You want to start? Angus: the bridges. Yeah, like he so he wanted to start too. So but look what they did. They put him right on the bench. Trevor: My thing is and then when he came off the bench he was averaging what, like eight points maybe. And like they offered you like this is the thing, like you gotta sometimes players have to realize like when they when you get to a certain age, your roles are gonna be reduced. I don't care how many rings Angus: Yeah. Trevor: you have, like, yes, Clay, you got th you got us those four rings and we appreciate everything that you've done, but you you getting up there. You're not gonna be able to You're not gonna be able to th have the same productivity that you had at one at one time. And there's nothing wrong with that. You c still contribute. It's like Westbrook. You know what I'm saying? Like he just he he he had this thing about like coming off the bench. It's like, bro, we appreciate all everything that you have contributed to the league and to our team. But sometimes you have to be humble and sometimes you just have to Sometimes you just have to accept a lesser role for the sake of the team. We'll happen. Angus: Yeah. You know, and the and the crazy thing about that as well is that Steph, someone that got older, continued to change his game to be able to be more productive. So he can play off ball, he's well conditioned, he can shoot it in so many different ways, he can take it to the rim. He's not necessarily a liability on defense as people think, it's just that when He's still kind of a smaller guy. So if they want to post him up or use all body or try to blow past him with his older knees, it it's a little bit easier than before. But I mean Steph has led the league in steals a couple times, or at least been runner up. So I mean he plays those passing lanes. He he can move his feet laterally, better than people think. But you know, we we we've seen even Draymond Green as his productivity has gotten lesser and lesser. He becomes more smarter on defense and more effective passing every single time. It's like those and and to be honest, this is my last year with Draymond Green. it looks like he's about to get another long deal. Me personally, I was okay with them letting him go this year. I thought I I wanted I I was trying to be super loyal for Draymond Green 'cause I I personally don't think like everyone has their guy that they won rings one with, right? So Trevor: Yeah. Angus: like I mean like everyone has their guy. You know what I mean? LeBron to me, I think the reason why he gets so much hate because he's never stayed somewhere and found his guy, but instead going other places and brought another guy with him. but I mean, Steph had his guys. and and that just happens to be in the same thing as Michael Jordan had his guy with Scottie Pippen. So it's just like Steph to me, his greatest step is Steph needed Dre Mongring and even Clay Thompson and even Andre Igadala. To be able to win Trevor: Yeah. Angus: rings. And when things got even harder, I mean, even though he was averaging twenty seven in the finals, he still needed KD in his thirty three, thirty five, or whatever. So it's like, I just think that Draymond Green is that much valuable. And but at the end of the day, I mean, dude, we need someone that can play defense and score. So I really hope that Yaxel is able to actually do something. But Trevor: Yeah. Angus: I know I keep making it about the Warriors, guys. I'm sorry. I I'm just I would love to see Claire come back. Trevor: He can't help it guys. He can't help it. Angus: I I I would love to see Clay come back actually, to be honest. I would love to see a reunion, maybe trade him back over. I mean he's a free agent, so I would love to see him come over. I would love to see DeMar DeRozan. Sorry, my throw is dry guys. But yeah, I would love to see a lot of these guys. Trevor: Yeah. How do you feel about about Will Richard, the Gator? I know he he he y'all drafted him, how y'all I know he did pretty good for y'all. Angus: Well Richard? Trevor: Yeah, he was like he was a forward. He was he was coming off the bench. Angus: I didn't actually to be to be honest, I haven't looked at our second round pick. My apologies to Will Richard and I'll have to do some research and maybe next week we'll talk about it. I've only really kind of put in a lot of my efforts into Yaxel and that's because he comes from Michigan. Go Blue. That's my team. so it's like that that's that's really why I I I you know what? I'm so sorry. s hey, Will, my bad dog. I know exactly who what Trevor: He was drafted like last year. Angus: Yeah, he was drafted last year. I know exactly who Will Richard is. I know exactly who Will Richard is. I have my and you know what? I love Will Richards' energy. I love the way he runs the floor. I love how he's a smart veteran. I believe he played four years for Florida. So he he's a veteran player. Trevor: Yeah, he was on he was on the national championship game. Angus: He was on the national championship team the year before. So I d I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Will Richard. Yeah, I I know exactly who Will Richard is. And and the thing about it is I thought he made some really great plays last year as well as far as just being in right p place, playing some good defense. He can make some shots. I think he is you know, with Moses Moody being hurt and still recovering. Trevor: Yeah. Angus: I th and with Jimmy Butler also being hurt, I think Will Richard will play another big role this year. I think they just signed again Gary Payton the second to another, I think, one year six million dollar deal. So I can see him eventually trying to take that role of being that slasher guy, as well as that three and D guy. but yeah, he to me, you know what, he gives off, he gives off like a young, like, you know, how JP was. JP came in with like good energy, but he kind of was like, how can I say this? JP's first year, people thought he was a bust. But mind you, it was the twenty one season when when Steph broke his hand and the Warriors only won twenty one games. games that season. So and then the next season they went on to win the finals and JP kinda had like a breakout year. Will Trevor: Yeah. Angus: Richard to me had a way better first year than JP, but he gives me that kind of like progression type. Like I can see him being a really good vet. And I would love to see him a second year player getting more minutes this year, behind Jimmy Butler and his And Andraymond Green's leadership as well as Steph, because Steph is one of the smartest players in the game as well. People who don't mention that enough. And but yeah, I I I want to see him and Yaxel play. I Yaxel's gonna have a great season. I'm very excited to see how he plays. I I hope Porzingis is a little healthier this year. I know he's dealing with more than just an injury, it's more of a sickness and disease that he's trying to take care of. So it kind of sidelines them lot of games. but yeah, I'm man, the Warriors have potential. They're just old, and there's a huge disparity. They're either really old and kind of broken or really young and inexperienced. And sti and Trevor: Mm-hmm. Angus: Steve Kerr is trying to have to deal with that. If you ask me, Bob Myers really, really ruined that team. he made a lot more free agent pickups and signings and then he did actually drafting well. And that's why he jumped ship right at the perfect moment. I think Mike Dunlevy Jr. is doing the best job he can to try to rebuild the team, but it's a really, really tough situation. and then you even had Jonathan Camingo. That was a Bob Myers draft pick. Mind you, I think a lot of people get things wrong. A lot of people didn't get things wrong, right? So they blame Trevor: Yeah. Angus: the coach. That is not that is not the coach's fault, right? The thing is the general manager's job, the general manager and and this is this is the the crazy part too, right? If we really want to talk about this like whole structure of a team. Usually the general manager is hired by the off the front office, then he goes out and get his coach. Now he will have these interviews for the coaches, and he is trying to basically like he wants to run his franchise a certain way. He's the manager, just like a restaurant, right? You want to run your Trevor: Yeah. Angus: franchise a certain way. So you go out and you get yourself leaders that are gonna run it the way and and and they have an idea of how they want to run it, the way that aligns to the way that you want to run it. what your goals are, the the type of culture that you want to have. And then those leaders go out and hire their staff based on what you guys have talked about. It's harder when a general manager hires a coach and then the coach or and then the general manager leaves and then another general manager comes in and has to take the other system that another general manager has Trevor: Yeah. Angus: and tries to get along with a coach that he didn't hire. So 'cause Trevor: Yeah. Angus: now they're not really aligned as well. So, and the thing about it is that people don't mention is that the general manager is supposed to draft players that align to the coach's system is because the coach the coach has a system. I hear when people say that Steve Kurt needs to change his system. For what? He got hired for that system. He's won four times for that system. When they go into an interview, they say this is my system, this is my X and O's, this is how I'm gonna use Steph, this is how I'm gonna use Clay. This is how I'm gonna use Dre. This is how I'm gonna use Andre. This is how I'm gonna use Sean Livingston. This is how I'm gonna use these guys. And this is what I plan on doing to get us to the championship. This is and then every single year they go over a game plan, off season and stuff like that. They go over game plan of how I'm gonna use certain draft picks. And then they try to get the guy that they want. And then they go out and they use him. But then when you have a general manager that goes out and gets another player that doesn't align with the coaches system. Now you have why is the coach why can't the coach, you know, give him more playtime? Why like why why isn't why doesn't the coach change the system? the coach is stubborn. We need to fire this coach, we need to give this person more playtime. Why? Because he could dunk the ball? Like, come on, man. Like Jonathan Kaminga did not he he's the type of player that needs the ball all the time. And that's not the system that the Warriors have. The system is Stephen Kirk. That and that is the system. You get players to align yourself around Stephen Curry that can move in his system and get Steph the ball, or take up tension off of Steph, or maximize when all the attention is on Steph. If you can't pass that ball and get out the way, then you won't make it on the Warriors team because the ball needs to go back to Steph every single time. You pass it to Steph. If he's covered, he's gonna pass it to you. You need to wait until you get to opening game. If you're gonna shoot that ball, you better make it. Because then Steph is gonna call for you to get out of the game. So it's like That that's the Warriors system. They're over there trying to bring in, you know, the last GM trying to bring in all these players that don't really work, trying to sign these one year veteran minimum deals that don't really work. Steph doesn't Steph would have a big man that can score and play defense and get him the ball the whole game. That that him, Jamal Murray and and and Joker's actually would be really nice. I I'm trying to Trevor: But they but the thing is they if they if they trade they're gonna want Jamal Murray. That defeats the purpose. Angus: Well that's fine, we'll get the ball more. I think Steph may be this is Steph's last year on a on his contract. He's he's the highest paid player in the sea in the NBA right now, sixty two million dollars right this year. He's a free agent next year. If I'm Steph, based on this this season right here is so important for not only Stephen Curry and his family, but also the Golden State Warriors. Because if Steph if the Warriors are not even a bit successful. If they're another play in team It don't even matter if they win. If they're another playing team, mark my words, Stephen Curry's going to the free agent market. Trevor: Especially when it seems like it does they're not trying to like they're not trying to do anything like free agent wise. I saw an article on Twitter that Angus: It's not even that they're not trying to do anything. They don't have any equity. They don't have no skin in the game. And they never win anything. They never win anything. They were supposed to get Giannis. They were supposed to get LeBron. Who else were they supposed to get? Lori Markinen? Jalen Brown? Like, they were supposed to get all these guys. Insane. So Trevor: And then I I saw an article that was basically saying that like they the the front office is basically okay with the team that they have now. I'm like, Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are. Yeah. I'm like, Yeah, Steph out of there. Steph is out of there Angus: This It's a and and another thing is Joe Lacup just came out with a quote saying that they're right now they're planning on for the team after Stephen Curry. So which means they're not they're they're trying to prepare and and and and this is the thing, right? I wanna take that with a grain of salt. You're supposed to want to be the you're if you're a a successful businessman, you're always planning for the future. If you want your franchise to be as good as it what it was with Stephen Curry, you should be looking to the future and who you can bring in, especially With the way that these teams are going now, Stephen Curry's a little bit more banged up these days, as productive as he is, and he's gonna be on his way out. He's also on his last year. And they probably may sense the rumblings that are coming from him and maybe that he may test the free agent market. I of course they have to do that. But at the same time they also have to build around him that young core that can put him back into the fight of also being a contending team again, just like what they did with JPP. And Trevor: Yeah. Angus: And and I forgot his other or they had GP2 there as well. They had Jonathan Kaminga. They had they had quite a few guys. Wiseman. No, Wiseman Trevor: Wiseman Wiseman's in the G Lane now though, isn't Angus: wasn't there. It was Kavon Looney that was there. Wisem Wiseman was already Trevor: A looney, yeah. Angus: gone. Yeah, Kavon Looney was there. But Wiseman was another bust. That's there's so many draft picks that were bust for the for the Warriors. but this is this is in a very, very important year for the Warriors if Stephan Curry is not Like if they're a play in team or if I think if they're anything lower than the sixth seed, he's going he's gonna test free agency. And if you ask me if it's not Denver and the West Coast or even San Antonio, which I saw as well, why not go play with Wemby? The only thing is is that San Antonio is gonna build around Vassell and Stephon Castle, which I I would do so as well. But I mean if you got Trevor: I would say yeah. Angus: Fox, if you got Fox, you can plug that in for Stephen Curry. That's a huge upgrade. You know what I mean? so and that's overkill, and they went to the finals last year, so they can be another final contending team with him. But I think Orlando or even Miami is a good pick for him. He he plays good in Florida. I think Aisha Curry, I don't think she has a restaurant over here yet in Florida. So I mean she just opened up one I think in in Texas. and she has plenty in North Carolina, so I'm just saying she can spread her portfolio. Steph is a really big investor. Miami's known as like the South like billionaire capital, you know what I mean? So it's like he can come down here and invest his money in certain things. Or there's plenty of golf course out here in Florida. Plenty. Really like high skilled, high-rated ones. You know what I mean? So he has everything he likes over here. You know what I mean? Good weather, just like Cali. You got the beach. So I mean, you got you got properties and stuff like that. No income tax, you know what I mean? So it's like, why not Florida, dude? Why not Florida? And I would love to go see Steph play. Trevor: I think like if I think Miami would would probably be better yeah, I think Miami would probably be the better fit though. Angus: The thing about it, Stephen Curry, Stephen Curry in a pick and roll with anybody is dangerous. Anybody. So and Trevor: Yeah. Angus: it's any pick and pop, and this is the thing. Go to Miami, retire old nice man. Cause the thing about Stephen Curry, Stephen Curry can go just as long as LeBron with the type of style that he plays. He doesn't jump a lot. He doesn't jump high. He doesn't have to keep running the rest of his career. He can he can be in the corner. Because you know what that's gonna do? That spreads the floor. Because Trevor: Yeah. Angus: people are not gonna leave him in the corner. And when they do leave him in the corner and that and that defense breaks down and someone rotates and forgets to rotate to the backside, Steph and Curry's gonna be right there waiting. And right as he gets the ball in his hand, everybody knows what happens. So it's like and he can get twelve to fifteen points just like that every single game. It opens up the floor, big situational moments. They put him in situations for two minute drills and stuff like that. Like you need a shot, you need a bucket, get Steph. Steph can even it just depends on his knees and his ankles, but Steph could probably make it to forty one. Staff can make it affordable. Trevor: Especially if if he invests in his body like LeBron does, yeah. I can see that. Angus: 'Cause he's about to be what, thirty eight years old? So it's like and and LeBron's about to be forty two, so he's like four years younger than him. Trevor: What's like three or four more years? You know? Angus: I think he can do it. It's just will he do it for the worst? 'Cause this is thing. Don't waste your years not contending. You know, and and I seen a quote like this that says in sports, loyalty, or what was it? What was it saying? It was like basically like on sports teams, when you're too loyal, the reward Is is to essentially retire on a on a sorry team. It's because Trevor: Yeah. Angus: you can only be you can only be so loyal and be like, I'm gonna stay here and give the rest I can even to the next. You could be a whole Udanus Haslan. But it's just like for s that's only for certain players. Like for Steph, he needs to be like he as long as he plays like that, he has to be on a title contending team. I only see him going to one other place if and if he doesn't win within the first two years, he'll probably retire. I don't see him being like a LeBron and keep like 'cause I to be honest if you ask me, I don't think this is LeBron's last team. Trevor: I think I think it might be like he no, he might like sign with Cleveland and retire like a little ten day contract, but I think yeah, you you're probably right. Like I just I would have chose the easier path going to a West another west coast team. That's just me, but Angus: I think and the thing about it is with the West Coast, there's only really three teams for the last three years that are kind of been real contenders. And that's I mean, you never know what happens this year. Dallas may take that leap. but it's it really is just Minnesota, Denver, and O K C but now you even have San Antonio. I think Denver's kinda taking a dip. So it's like San Antonio, O K C and Minnesota. With like Trevor: Yeah. Angus: you know, and the Lakers were kinda like in there at like four and five here and there. But Trevor: Yeah. Angus: We'll see what happens. I was gonna ask you how do you feel about John Morant going to to play with in Portland where Damien Lillard went back. Trevor: I was gonna ask you the same thing. Angus: Yeah, I mean, I I kinda agree with you. When I heard about it, I was like, okay. It's like you know Trevor: All right. Angus: You know what I thought about it for Sha for sh Ja it was like not Shay but like Ja was I was gonna say it's like second chance you. Essentially. Trevor: Pretty much, yeah. Like everyone and without me like really touching too much on it, I understand the rights of bearing a firearm in the United States. I understand it's Trevor: Yeah, of course. Angus: not a crime, it's not a crime, but you know, at the end of the day, certain people like high profile figures and celebrities and athletes have a higher standard. And when you are employed and if your employer has rules where you can't be branding a firearm on social media or through, you know, video, especially pointing in and and and using it. 'Cause this is the thing. To take out your firearm not to use it, I believe is a felony, or if not a Trevor: Yeah. Angus: misdemeanor. I I I could be mistaken. But I you know, when last time I heard taking out a firearm And you don't have any intent to using it and you're just waving around. I believe that is a felony of some sort. So Trevor: Right. Angus: I understand I don't know if there was any type of you know, legal matters that were, you know, taken after that. And I understand that also as the NBA being your employer, you're not supposed to be getting into any legal trouble of any sort, but I mean, I know he was in the club with it at one point, he was in the car, like there's you know, and I don't want to be that person to bring it up, even though I just did, but it's just like Where where is she going from this? 'Cause it's like from the person that they've researched and understand Ja to be, like, why hasn't kind of just got along with or just kinda like essentially been like, you know, all right guys, let me chill out. You know what I mean? Cause now he's like doubling down. But it's just man, it's it's just sad 'cause I'm just like, I would really like for him to kind of just get back to just giving us sports center top ten plays and really competing again instead of just being this person that's like, all right, you guys gonna brand me to like this evil villain, this this crazy rapper. Angus: Alright, guys, a little story time. I just started my career. Just like a little feedback. I had like a career change at the age of 26, going on 27. been trying to do it for quite some time. I was in hospitality management, I was also in customer service and training and things of that sort, onboarding, things like that, for a lot of different companies. and you know, kinda just got tired and bored of that, so I always have like a love and interest for the healthcare industry. I got into EEG. It's a long story of how I got into working with seizure patients and things of that sort, but that's a story for another day, 'cause you guys know I love the ramble and yap. you know, it's been quite some time that I've been in this program since last November and I graduated in December. I've been doing my clinicals for the last eight months, nine months, eight and a half to nine months. at Advent Health Downtown Rollins Street in Orlando, Florida. For all those that are listening, you know where that's at. I now I work at Orlando Health. Not gonna tell you the exact location just in case some of you guys are weirdos. But I worked for one of the Orlando health facilities and I just got my first job, been able to start my career. It's been amazing. So, you know, at first I was dealing with like a lot of sick patients, right? Very like if anything, they would have surgery scars and drainages and things like that, sutures. But, you know, now I'm dealing with like really insane injured patients, like a lot of crazy falls and lot huge laceration, broken bones, all different types of stuff. So Trevor: Yeah, you ready? I'm back. Okay. Angus: I think the recording just stopped all of a sudden. I think it stopped recording and uploaded. Trevor: Yeah, I don't know why. you're back. Angus: I'm gonna be ready to kinda stop it a little bit. Like my allergies are really bad in this corner. Trevor: Right. Yeah. I'm also about to start another program just to finish the rest of my school and so I can hurry to get it over with. so it's a lot a lot of things going on. Also trying to relocate as well.
