Jakayla Snipes: In the middle of the afternoon, the sun is going to go out. Not forever, for about what four and a half minutes if you happen to be standing in Iceland or northern Spain. ⁓ for those minutes in the middle of the brightest month of the year, in the loudest sign of the zodiac, the light kind of technically, you guys, gets cut. And know, I already know what the feeds will say, what the feeds are gonna look like. ⁓ I like course astrology is like is the common denominator across any of my accounts that I have because it's always my interest. so not be like facetious I guess if that's the right way to use that word. but I kind of feel like I know what the feed's gonna be looking like. Okay. Like I feel like half of it is gonna be telling you a portal is opening and your soulmate is arriving at twenty degrees Leo with luggage. ⁓ And then other half will probably be like bit don't leave your house Which to be honest with you, don't leave your house is a fair for anybody. I think you're typically well, maybe not for everybody, but for a lot of times ⁓ safer if you don't leave your house. So ⁓ the worst advice. But, ⁓ know, it's probably also saying, like, don't sign anything, wrap your crystals in a towel. And honestly, I think both of those are wrong. And today I wanna tell you why, because I think this eclipse is actually one of the most interesting sky events of the whole year. And ⁓ what I just kind of made fun of. I kind of call it like panic content. I I think it buries the good part. That's that's all I'm kind of trying to say. But anyway, this is Jakela with the astrology of it all. Let's get into it. So strip off the drama first, okay? Because ⁓ I the mechanics is kind the meaning. So A solar eclipse is a new moon. That's it. That's literally the base ingredient. Every month, the moon passes between us and the sun, right? And we call that a new moon. So most months, the moon's path carries it a little above or below the sun. So nothing really visible happens or occurs. But twice a year, the geometry lines up exactly. And the moon crosses directly in front of the sun and the light actually gets physically interrupted. So when astrologers say an eclipse is supercharged, like sometimes astrologers will say ⁓ eclipse is like a supercharged new moon. That's not really hype, that's actually the literal description. A regular new moon is a reset you cannot see. An eclipse is a reset you can watch happen, and the sky kind of acts it out for you. And this is a dramatic one. August 12th, 2026. Total solar eclipse at 20 degrees of Leo. This is the first solar eclipse visible from Europe since 1999. I was barely here. and so were a lot of you guys probably as well. But the path of totality, it basically runs across ⁓ Greenland, and strip of northern Spain. Twenty-seven years since Europe ⁓ last if I'm getting my math right, underneath one of these. So There probably will be photos around a lot. and you know, if you have a rain light and an opinion, you'll probably be posting about it. And that's kind of why I want you to understand it before the noise starts. So here is a frame I kind of want you to hold for the whole episode. If you're a note taker, write it down, boys and girls. An eclipse an eclipse does not give you a new life. It takes something out of the room so you can finally see the floor. Let me explain that. So interruption is not destruction. When the power flickers in your house, for example, with the power is, you know, going on and off, nothing's destroyed. But maybe you suddenly notice which machines are humming because the humming stops. You know? That's kind of what an eclipse does with the sun. in your life that may have been running on autopilot. ⁓ something tied to being seen for this season, being validated, being lit up. By other people's attention maybe, that will go quiet for a beat. And in that information, in that quiet, you get information that you might not have been able to even hear before. Let's talk about why Leo and why August. So, this is the part that a lot of people skip. Because this eclipse is not happening in a random sign at a random time, it's happening at 20 degrees of Leo in the middle of August. And that timing is the whole story. So, quick refresher for how I read the Zodiac for anybody new here. the Zodiac is a symbolic system humans built by watching the earth what it does as the sun moves through the year and developing a language for how each Phase of that cycle shapes experience. like to see it as pattern recognition. I'm like I don't s honestly like I I'm no different than any other astrologer. I just like the seasonal element to add a little bit of layer, a little bit of softness, a little bit of ⁓ to it, if you get what I'm saying. ⁓ and a bit of glow Glorilla. Okay, I can't be Glorilla, I'm Jekela. but I like to be as cool as Glorilla. You know? I re I I don't really know Gorilla like that, so I don't know like where her morals and morality lies. but I like her energy. ⁓ anyway, ⁓ act no, that's my friend's energy actually. She'd be like but So, getting on topic. Sorry you guys. so ⁓ What does a zodiac claim about Leo? This is why I have the slides. It keeps me on track. So, what does the Zodiac claim about Zio? Leo. Zio. Zio. New Zodiac sign. You guys didn't know. Zio is the new Zodiac sign to join. I'm just kidding. so what does the Zodiac claim about Leo? It says that Leo is self is radiance, self-expression, the courage to be visible on purpose, ⁓ open-hearted performer of the Zodiac. And when we look at what the world is actually doing in August, in mid-August. at that point of time we are in the peak of the light year, light half of the year. So the sun has been climbing since December, the days are long, the heat has fully accumulated, and everything that has been growing all year is out in the open. This is when the world is ripe and exposed and on display, and there's nowhere for anything to hide in August. ⁓ the world itself is at maximum expression. I like to think about like if you're Looking at like a desert landscape with like no trees on it. It's just bright light exposing, everything is exposed, everything is able to be seen. this is why for me, the zodiac descriptions of Leo it tracks. Cause I'm not saying that August weather manufactures confident people. ⁓ saying when you look at what this phase of the year is doing, the zodiacs read on it makes sense. The season is the receipt, not the source. So now put the two pieces together because I think this is where it gets good. An eclipse is the light being interrupted. And this eclipse happens at the exact moment of the year when light, visibility, and expression are what? The entire theme. And the sun is at his most exposed in the sign that is about being seen, going dark in the middle of the day. think the sky could not be like more on nose if it tried. Are you with me? Because this eclipse is a reset in how you take up space and it's arriving during your loudest season. So the questions I find this eclip asking is not what is coming, but more so like where am I performing a version of myself instead of expressing one? Whose attention have I been running on? What applause stopped feeding me a long time away? A long time ago, and I kept chasing it away. Anyway, I I never can read right. but let me read that question again. By the way, you guys, these questions are like actual questions from for myself for myself, from like my personal writing, by the way. So if you're one of those going on in my life, you can kind of look at my questions and kind of get an example of it. but what ⁓ I still do, ⁓ ⁓ say, if nobody was watching at all? And now listen, let me tell you something. The clips, it don't got no answers for you. Not one. Don't have it doesn't have one ⁓ for you at all. It's only gonna be cutting the stage lights for about four and a half minutes. So you can hear your own voice in the dark. And that's now that's me being that's me being very like literal. gonna feel the effects of it a little bit deeper than that. But ⁓ Anyway, ⁓ let's talk about who feels it and runway leading in. Because degrees do matter with the clips. So let's get specific. This ⁓ one lands at 20 degree Leo. So if you have your sun, moon, rising, or personal planet between roughly 15 and 25 degrees of the fixed signs, that is Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio, this is your eclipse. So pull up your chart. Also, if you see a placement in that window, the reset is personal this year. Everyone else gets the ambient version, the mood in the room, rather than the tap on the shoulder. And I want you to see the runway, because I think the sky has been walking us here all month. So is probably gonna open a little tent because we have a Venus and Mars quearing and it's gonna have a lot of people's relationships running a little a little spicy in the first week. ⁓ then around August the sixth, Venus is gonna be moving into Libra, her own sign. So the temperature it kind of like drops a little bit, where things will be more diplomatic, more balanced. A little taste, a little early taste, a little light taste of ⁓ season to come. And then on August ninth. Three days before the eclipse, we're gonna have Mercury entering Leo. Communication will probably warm up. Maybe actually get a little theatrical, honestly. Get on that stage, y'all. People will probably start saying things with their whole chest. And that window, roughly August the 9th through the 11th. I think that's actually a really beautiful stretch to talk and to launch and to be visible. Because the eclipse has not landed yet and the air is very warm and expressive. So I find the choreography of this month to be tension, then like softening, then warmth, then lights out. More of a sequence than chaos. let's sign by sign. But before I run through the list, I want to show you the actual math because I'm not just ⁓ like vibes here. There's an actual mechanic. And once you see it, you hey, guess what? Y'all can even check my work if you want to. So your chart is divided into 12 houses, right? And each house governs a different area of life: identity, money, communication, home, and so on around the wheel. Your rising sign sets your first house and the rest count from there in the zodiac order. So the eclipse is one event at one address, right? It's like about 20 degrees of Leo. But that address it sits in a different room of everyone's chart depending on where your count starts. And that's why the eclipse can mean 12 different things. And I'm going to tell you which room the lights go on for you and why. So we're going to be using your rising sign first because the houses are basically built from them. So that's why we're starting right there. your sun sign can also work as a backup if you don't know your birth time because ⁓ does not know their birth time, and that's perfectly fine. So let's get started. Leo Leo is your first house. It Leo, for y'all you Leo Risings, you're experiencing eclipse in your first house, right? So this is the house of identity, body, your name, how you show up in a room. This houses is typically associated with Aries. So let's say little Leo with the little Aries energy. Excuse me. This eclipse is gonna be direct landing directly on the you part of your chart, which only happens about every nine years by eclipse cycle. So the reset is not about your job or your relationship, it is about the self underneath both, specifically the version of you that got built for other people's consumption. If you've been feeling like a brand, maybe instead of a person lately, that is the exact type of thing that this eclipse will be pointing at. Aquarius rising Aquarius. Did I say that right? Aquarius, or for all my Aquarius risings, ⁓ will be in your seventh house. It's the house of Libra. Partnership, one-on-one, ⁓ business partners, the best friend who functions like a spouse. ⁓ this is why this matters for you specifically, because the seventh house ⁓ where we typically find That you will give your light away. And Leo being here, to me, it means that you probably tend to partner with big, shiny, main character people. Well, this eclipse, it wants you to think about if this exchange is actually two-way. If someone in your life only works when you're the audience or only works when you're the show. And I think that dynamic, it can lose this lighting for a minute, and maybe you'll get to see it. plainly. Tars Rising. For you Tarz Rising, Leo's in your fourth house, the house of cancer, the base of your chart. ⁓ family, housing, your private foundation. So the fourth house is literally the bottom of the wheel, ⁓ this is the part where nobody sees. And for you, the eclipse happens down there, not in public. So watch home and family specifically, maybe a living situation, a family role you've been performing, ⁓ an obligation that could be dressed up as roots. See, I think the tell is the difference between this is where I rest and this is what I maintain. Whatever's in the second category, I think is what you're gonna find is what surfaces. Now, Scorpio rising. Leo is in your tenth house, the top of your chart. 10th house is the house of Capricorn. This is your career, your reputation, your public role, the things that strangers know you as. See, here you're the mirror image of Taurus. Because their eclipse is private. Yours is the most public one on the list. If the title no longer fits the person holding it, this is when the gap becomes impossible to ignore, I think. Not necessarily a firing or a quitting, but sometimes just the quiet realization that you've been performing a job description instead of doing work that you actually may feel that you're proud of. So then we get to Aries Rising. Leo is in your fifth house. So this would be your fifth Leo's the fifth house. Dud Kayla. But this is the house of creativity, romance, pleasure, play, and children. The things you do because they light you up, not because they actually produce anything. And I think there's a little bit of a trap that the eclipse may expose for you because the fifth house is joy. And joy monetized or posted can become performance. Which is actually like kind of a Tenth house activity wearing a fifth house costume. So if your hobby becomes content, or if dating can become maybe a numbers game, or maybe fun can become optimization, I think the eclipse will cut the light on that so you can remember what you actually enjoy. Then we get to Gemini rising. Leo is in your third house. So this is actually very interesting because Gemini is the third house. so ⁓ Being in your third house, which is the house of communication, siblings in close can, your immediate neighborhood, the daily narration running in your head and out of your mouth. specifically should care about the Leo flavor here, I think, because Leo in the third can kind of mean that your voice is part of your identity. So maybe you narrate with style. Maybe you say things to be heard saying them. ⁓ this eclipse, it wants you to see which of your words are expression and which are more performance. A conversation you may have kept rehearsing. But never actually having, or maybe a story you tell about yourself that maybe stopped being true, a commitment made out loud that your gut already left. Try to say less during eclipse week and notice what actually needs saying. Now we get to Cancer Rising. Cancer Rising, Leo's in your second house, the house of Taurus. so second is your house of money, income, possessions, and underneath it all, ⁓ self-worth. Because the second house is like more what you have and what you think you're worth. So this is financial for you, but not in a scary way. I think it's an audit for the exchange rate. Maybe what you've been trading your energy, hours, and care for, and whether the price you've set on yourself is even honest. An underpaying job, an underpricing habit in your own business, a pattern of giving for free what people would gladly pay for. I think that's the material. And now we get to Virgo rising. Me. Hi. I'm a Virgo rising. ⁓ so Leo is in our 12th house, the house of Pisces. And this is like kind of the more subtle on the list. And I really kind of thought about it, so stay with me. Okay. The 12th house is the room behind the stage, right? Rest, solitude, endings, grief, the inner life, everything that happens with the lights already off. Now, an eclipse here doesn't take something public from you. Instead, it surfaces something private you've been carrying. Maybe an old war a worry, an old story, a burnout you haven't admitted to. So It can finally end. For you, the instruction I think is literal to get rest during the eclipse week. You hear that, Jaquela? We're not doing it. Do you hear that, Jaquela? But get some rest, okay? Because the work is internal and it does itself if it makes any sense. If you get quiet enough to let it. Which is very hard for us Virgo Risings, I think. Very, very difficult for us to be still and let the quiet seep in. But we can shut up for a second. And now Libra rising. So count it with me because I think this may you know surprise people. Libra first, 11 houses along, you would land on Leo. So Leo is your 11th house. Friend group. It is House of Aquarius. Friend group. Communities, networks, your long term hopes. And this is why this is matters for you specifically, because you're the Zodiac's. partnership sign wired to keep every room comfortable. And the 11th house is where that instinct scales up from one person to the whole group because it's about community. So the Eclipse audits which circles feed you and which ones run on you being the agreeable one. Because when the lights cut, I want you to notice which rooms you'd still choose if the membership fee wasn't self-editing. And those are going to be your people. The eclipse, they test whether you still actually hold them or if you've just been performing certainty because people may expect it from you. Maybe a belief you've outgrown. A stance you took publicly that privately went soft. Updating it out loud is the assignment. And that's not weakness. That's the ninth house just doing its job. And now we get to Capricorn Rising. This is the eighth house. and eighth house is the house that is associated with ⁓ so. Eighth house is the house of shared resources, debts, loans, inheritance, other people's money, and the deep end of intimacy. This is the house of entanglement. Everything you cannot untangle from another person with a simple handshake. eclipse, I think it clarifies that there's maybe a little bit of imbalance there. Maybe a debt that's more like control or a shared account that's more like dependence or intimacy where one person ⁓ fully seen and the other performs. So I would like you to keep an eye out on what gets illuminated about who owes what in money or in vulnerability and settle with honesty. Okay. Now, last one, Pisces rising, Leo's in your sixth house, the house of Virgo, work, routines, health, the daily grind, everything you do because every single day you do it on repeat. Routines are honestly invisible precisely because they repeat, right? And eclipse here makes the invisible visible for a minute. So maybe audit your autopilot. The standing meeting that may produce nothing. The health habit you may perform, but you don't really feel. the way your workday quietly expands to feel your whole life. See the sixth house, it rules the eclipse enforces. Not everything you do every day deserves to be done every day. So that's all 12. And now you know ⁓ I said what I said for yours. One eclipse, one address, 12 different rooms. If you heard your eclipse and felt something drop in your stomach, I think that's good. And that's the note to take into eclipse week. So, practical session. What should you actually do with an eclipse? I think four things. One, don't launch on that day. Cause the signal scrambled. There's nothing wrong with holding on, okay? Eclipses I think are for noticing, not initiating. The old advice about not starting major ventures on eclipses, I think is less about curses and more about signal. Because that These days the signal will be scrambled. If you have something to launch, maybe do it before August the ninth through eleventh while Mercury is is still warm in Leo or wait until a few days after the twelfth. Nothing wrong with it. You may actually find that you needed to wait and do some revisions. or you can launch it before the ninth and then see signals you get ⁓ and after the twelfth. You know, just just thought. Number two, honestly. Skip the manufacturing manifestation rituals on this one. I just solar eclipse is not a wishing moon, you guys. don't need to go plant seeds during the blackout. Just go plant seeds if you want to. But like you wait for the light to come back on and then you look. Honestly, at what the dark showed you is my opinion. Number three, watch the window. Not just the day. Give it about August 8th through August 16th. And during that window, pay attention to what leaves. What goes quiet, what suddenly feels like a costume instead of a self. And take notes. Don't take drastic action. Notes first, move later. Now number four. And when I say journal, you can just like literally write it in your phone. I think that counts as journaling. Your notes app can definitely count as journaling. But This is the whole episode I think in one question. What would I keep doing if no one ever saw me do it? I think whatever survived that question is you. Whatever doesn't is the performance. And the performance is what the eclipse came for. So, eclipses travels in pairs. So the story's not over on August the 12th. A lunar eclipse follows it through at the end of the month, and lunar eclipses are the exhale, the release that answers the solar reset.
