Major League Minute: Hey, welcome to the Major League Minute podcast. I'm and this is GMP and today we're talking all things MLV and maybe a little hot tea if we got time. Or no, maybe we'll start with some hot tea and get to the other stuff. Hey, you control the conversation. It's up to you. What's in your, do you have any hot tea in your water bottle today? It's just water. Little Wodka? No, it is just water. Let me be clear on that. Hey, please like, share and subscribe. Follow us on Instagram and TikTok at the Major League Minute. We'll see you. This is episode, what are we doing? 19? 19. Week 10 recap, week 11 preview with plenty of hot tea on top of that. But before we get into that, you want to make your announcement in terms of your moving up the Valet, the Fantasy League? Yes. So I am so excited. There was a huge discovery in my life this weekend. We have a team in our league named it's ZPO. he brought to my attention that I'm looking at the season leader board. So that's why I was like, it seems like we have the same people every week with in the same positions. Well, that's because I'm looking at the season leader board. If I go by round, it's different. And I'm ⁓ so I took a screenshot. Guess who finished number one this last round? Can we check the receipts on that Mr. IT? ⁓ we'll put them up. Don't you worry. yeah, so I actually finished first this last round. I've been looking this whole time at the season leaderboard. Okay. And as far as in reference to our team, our league. Because we're now up to 44 teams in our league. Did you see that? Yeah, we're slowly, you were almost there. And there's still time to get in our fantasy league. How would they do that if they still want to be a part of the fantasy league? as before, just playvolley.com forward slash MLM and then they'll be prompted to make an account. Then they go to the fantasy section and they join the MLM, the Major League Minute League. And you pick your own team every week or every two weeks or every three never too late. I'm so excited. We're almost to our 50 goal. But yeah. I just was like, so when I actually know it's ZPO person, or I know him personally and I saw him in person on Saturday. And so when he showed it to me and I was in first place, I'm pretty sure I like jumped up and down. Like that's how excited I was. So did he actually listen to the podcast? He is a listener, dedicated. Figured out that we really don't know all the nuances ⁓ of own league. Pretty much. He's like, Hey, let me help you out a little bit here. So yeah. ⁓ So this week you were first, but the bigger question is you being first this week, did it move you up in the standings overall in the league? did. So last week I was sixth and now I'm fifth. So I'm slowly creeping up there. And what other hot takes on the, as it relates to the fantasy league, middle blockers are big. Also picking week to week seems to make a difference. I guess it depends, but yeah. I help a brother out. I fell to 16th. I don't... I don't know what's right and wrong because in this league we could have someone perform amazing this week and then not play at all next week. that's why I'm like, I like the one week contracts. I like switching it up. I like giving other players the option to really boost my numbers and win for me. But when you do one week contracts, then when you go to remake your roster, you can't pick. those people again. So that's why you have to sign them. If you want them again, you have to sign two or three week contracts with them, which again, it's my fault. I should have taken the time to read the fine print on that. But I just learned that maybe last week. Bottom line, we're up to 44 teams looking for 50 plus by the end of the season, people to join our league and we're well on our way. Yeah, aren't we going to give the winner a prize? What did you say is like a loaf of bread or something? A holiday pie or holiday ham, a holiday ham or a slice of pizza, whatever works. Yeah. I don't know. Stay tuned. We'll have to wait till the end of competitive to find out. So how does that work? Does the league run through the end of the season into the final four? And I would assume it goes until the championship. Okay. Because you'll have to tweak your Yeah. I was like, by that final four, maybe we should ask Molly. Because then you obviously are a lot more limited on players when it's Final Four. But if you haven't joined yet, please join our Fantasy League. It's tons of fun. You will not be disappointed. is a lot of the players I feel like don't know about this. The ones that you've talked to? And how do you know that? Well, speaking with maybe one or two Omaha players, but then also... Because I spoke to some too. With Lydia last week, she never heard of it. She heard of the Valiant, but didn't know about the Fantasy League. Okay, is what I heard saying okay, so it's like they don't even know Maybe it's intentional. They don't want to be it might be like a conflict of interest for them to be like Well now it would only be a conflict of interest if someone's paying her I play for Dallas, but I put my name as supernova my team name supernova My whole roster is Dallas Poles It's possible do we still know what the locked out sign means that when some players you can't pick them They have that lock they're on lock Well, I think it's because did you pick them the week before? Is that what that is? Yeah, but it could be. It could not be. But Volley told me there's always like a circle with a question mark, like the info icon. And you can always click that and it will tell you. Specific to your situation. Tell you why this player's not available. Got them. That helps. Yeah. Especially for the new people that are. I mean, there's still people joining in as of yesterday. jumped up two people. So yeah, let's have fun together. to the MLM League. Why don't you talk about the top scores for the week? To no surprise. Number three. yes. So ⁓ first all, one player. Have you seen the second player on the top three? It's kind of surprising. I don't think I've seen her. That would be surprising. But when I say that I'm like, there's no way. But anyway, third place. Very, very, very familiar player. PBR. She is consistently in the top three, so good for Paige. For the new players, I would give them the cheat code. Check PBR, put her on your team. She's going to be all possible. She's in the top three week after A highly contributing player. And the reason why that is, is because she kills. She digs. She blocks. She can get an ace a time or two. She passes. Yeah, all the things. so she had 80 points this last week. And then the second place, again, this is someone who it shouldn't surprise me, but I feel like it is because I don't know if we've seen her before in the top three, but that is Sophia Maldonado Diaz. Lightning. She 81.5 points. she always the kills match after match, but she must've done some other things really well this last week. Yeah. I bet you she got some major blocks and some digs cause that's blocking is how you score the most points. yeah, so she's obviously like a huge scorer in this league, but yeah, maybe she's only kills. I don't know. So then first place, we have seen this player before. I don't know for sure if she's ever taken first place before, but that is Carly Snyder with 87.2. And she is the ⁓ Outside. She's an outside for Grand Rapids. For Grand Rapids. Yeah. So we got two grand rapids. Carly is the one who, yes, we have two grand rapids in the top three this week. Did they win this week? I can't remember off the top of my head. They did. They upset Atlanta. that the only match that they had? That is the only match that they had. So it must have been a five setter? No, it was four. So yeah, those were our top three scorers week. Good them. Let's get into MLV tea, hot tea. Is there any hot tea happening in the MLV that you're of? ⁓ Dude, you're like setting it up like there's this huge, ⁓ this cup that I'm about to pour and it's like, I don't even know what you're referencing. Well, that's what our audience seems to think that you have all the hot tea regarding everything as it relates to the MLV. So let's talk about this weekend or yesterday or when, when, did it? Saturday, Saturday. We got to meet the commissioner. Did you get to meet her first hand? I did. I was really excited that I got that opportunity. I wasn't sure if it was going to come about, but she was here in Omaha for as was everybody else. seemed like everyone and their mom. ⁓ so. She, excuse me, she flew in. She was sitting caddy corner from me, so like far on the other side of the arena. So I was like, ⁓ don't know if I'll get a chance to meet her. also don't want to be weird and be a weirdo, but I had the opportunity. ⁓ actually my daughter over to that side after the set to talk with Jen Spiker. ⁓ and that's when I kind of sat, stole Jamie seat. And so then when Jamie came back to her seat, ⁓ I was like, ⁓ get up by the way, I'm Gina. And so I got to talk to her. And then after the match, she actually came up to me as well. and she was like, great job on the mic. do you do that all the time? And I was like, yeah. What was she talking about? post-match interview? Yes. The, the player of the game interview on the Jumbotron right after the win. So. She seems great. ⁓ nothing. ⁓ was all but positive at first impressions. Just was talking to Jen about her a little bit and she just was emphasizing just like the marketing aspect that Jamie will bring to the table. ⁓ she from the NFL? Yep. She a lot of connections with that as far as like sponsorships and marketing. And so she's really excited to see what Jamie does for the MLB. And she's already plugged in and up and running. Yeah. She's already involved in gauge. Yep. is. So she was great. didn't like ⁓ to talk to her for 30 minutes by any means, but mean, great opportunity to rub elbows with the new commish. Yeah. The new commish of the league. Yeah. So that was fun. Exciting things in store for the MLV heading into, ⁓ the second year of the MLV next year, as she gets her feet and her wits about her, I'm sure she's going to do big things. I can't wait to see when she plugs herself completely into the program or to the league. What's- It makes me think like, what big sponsors are we gonna have for the All-Star match or the finals next year? If it's gonna be someone huge like Spotify or Netflix or I don't even know. I'm just throwing- Was that hot tea or is that cold tea? No, that's totally just Gina's tea. There's nothing, no hints or anything about that. I'm just saying like- being part of the NFL for 15 years. You build those relationships, those bridges. You have built relationships. And so just excited to see who she brings in. Shout out strategic move by the MLV to bring in the new commission. So let's move right on into ⁓ talk about some personnel changes. ⁓ you familiar with Adana Rollins? I am. It was just Rollins. ⁓ it's Shad. Yeah, I'm wondering if she got married. I haven't had a chance to go creep on her at all. position? She's an outside. Okay. So I first interacted with Adana in Puerto Rico in 2023. Okay. So she played actually for the team that beat us. Pinkin? Yeah. She for Pinkin. Okay. ⁓ So they, that right? I'm having a, I'm drawing a blank. I'm pretty sure because, ⁓ she was with Tori. Okay. Dilfer. Man, I, I got a fact check myself. My memory is foggy, but it doesn't matter. She played in Puerto Rico in 2023. So that's where I first met her. And then last season when I went down and played in Puerto Rico, you know, after having Charlotte and I was five months postpartum and I was down there for that short term sub contract. She was down there playing for another game. Okay. Yeah, was she playing this year before the Valkyries picked her up? No, that's why I'm wondering if she started down there and she didn't want to be down there anymore or if she's just been waiting When I saw this transaction that Orlando picked her first of all, was like why like well Hannah Maddox has been out Well, what do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? Like out out as in season ending in how do we know? Yeah, that's, don't know. bigger concern is Brittany Abercrombie still out. I know, I'm so curious to see if she makes it to the All-Star because she's been out a majority of the season. Right. But she's skilled enough, she should be in that All-Star match, but I also then I'm like, it's not really fair ⁓ to let's her teammate, Shemei. if Brittany gets chosen and plays over Chame because Chame has been carrying the load the last many weeks. So that'll be really interesting to see. The announcement out tomorrow. So it's gonna be public tomorrow? ⁓ How does dynamic work? A certain amount of players from each team get chosen or? I don't know I don't know if it's like... For sure two players from each team will be chosen. I don't know You do not know that. I do not know. We'll find out tomorrow though for sure. Yeah. Okay. So when you start bringing back up Hannah, Automatics? Yeah, ⁓ sorry. we know, she's clearly not injured. Otherwise she would, there would be a, it would ⁓ be transaction as season ending injury. You mean she's, clearly she's not. injured for the rest of the season. Correct. If she has an injury, she won't be on that. But have you heard them mention that? I have not. Yeah. think it's more of a situation of Courtney Schwann is like really starting to elevate her game. She's playing a lot more consistently and a lot stronger. And then Charity is back in the game and Charity is also strong and for the most part consistent. I know she had a little bit of a She needed a little bit of a build up coming back. So my thought on that, the whole purpose of bringing in Adana Rollins is because Hannah Maddox is injured. And you're saying not necessarily? why I saw this transaction, I was like, why? What's the thinking behind that? And that's what we don't know. Maybe there are fans out there who do know, but we don't know. You got to go to Reddit to get all the hot tea. Exactly. Probably red air. Somehow, someway they got all the don't know. So that was really, really interesting because Adana also to me isn't like this huge like by any means threat. I wouldn't I would say that it's it's a lateral hire, not like a grade higher. And I mean that with respect because I think Hannah Maddox is very good. I think Lindsey Van Der Weide is also very good. She's been helping a little bit more on the opposite lately because of Brittany. So why I'm just like, I don't think that Adonna is necessarily above and beyond what they already have. ⁓ So just an interesting transaction to me. You never know. They're currently sitting in fourth. Orlando is, so. I mean, it's never, it's not too late for them. mean, hopefully they'll get Brittany and Hannah back and, you know, everybody back and be to make a late season run. Do you think they need Hannah back? I mean, Courtney and Charity are doing great. I think they're better with her. You think so? I do. She was playing really great at the beginning of the season, so. To me, she's the best, one of the best row attackers in the MLV. Best back row attackers? What'd I say? Best row attackers? Best back row. back row attackers in the ⁓ of E, especially from the BIC or the pipe. that's just my perspective. No, wish there was, I wish there was some injury update, know, something that we could track all the injuries, but I don't necessarily see that. They only on the transaction page, they only do season ending or ⁓ So if someone like Caitlin Hoard, who has an injury currently and we didn't see, we didn't get to see her play this last week. That's maybe just like a week injury and maybe she'll be back next week. So that's nothing that they report, but that's something that I I want to know. I want to know that like who's, it'd be hard to report that because some of those decisions are just based on load load management. ⁓ also it's like, it's an it's an advantage to the opposing team if you do announce that because then they're going to know not to scout for that player. So I totally get why that's not public knowledge until like game time. but yeah, just selfishly as a fan, I'm like, come on. lines, been tracking the strength and conditioning coach. think that she calls herself something else on, the Instagram, but her platform is extremely beneficial for conditioning, training, volleyball specific moves to help dynamic training movements for it seemed like every position, but I don't know. ⁓ don't think you mentioned what team. Indie Ignite. There you go. I wish I could pronounce her last name, but I would recommend everybody to follow her on Instagram. Very good detailed analysis ⁓ strength and conditioning specific for volleyball players. Along those lines, what has been your experience in terms of younger and younger kids have been conditioning for volleyball? At what point do you start moving from just body weight things to weight training for you, your experience in that area? I think what we see Zuzza doing with like, you know, I just think about when you're laying on the bench and you have the weighted ball in your head and you drop it and you catch it. That's something you can do at a super young, early age that will immediately help that flexibility in your shoulder and strengthen those tendons and whatnot. Because especially as an attacker, for me, even just doing this, I'm like, ⁓ gosh, my shoulder. you're heavily using your shoulder. And so to get that strength and that, I struggle with this word. familiarity of that movement in your arm at a young age, that's only going to help you. So if you are a mom or a dad with a kid who is just starting their athletic journey, like this is free access to these movements. High level with explanations and videos and photos and diagrams. And so this is something every parent or coach should really. really follow because it's really helpful and beneficial. And then, of course, it obviously must be working because Indie Ignite, we've talked about this, is such a strong dominant team. they don't seem to be injury-laden from what I can tell. Well, Azani was injured, but I don't know how or why. And then ⁓ we that Kayla Lund has that horn. is playing out. But she's playing. ⁓ still, ⁓ mean, I think that's it. And we saw Indy play this week, I just was like, there, we know this from the TV screen that they look strong, but you see them in person and you're like, people are built. They're intentionally investing into their strength and conditioning and it's paying off. Yeah. But you about strength. Personally in my life, I didn't get to strength till much later. Right because you're still growing right? mean you don't want to I mean I showed up to college like a buck thirty like I was super skinny and frail and kind of looking like a giraffe is what that Dan Bambi yeah Athletically awkward or what was it? He called me awkward, but I'm still unsure if it was physically or personality but Yeah, so for me, I didn't get into the strength really until my junior year in college, I actually was awarded the female lifter of the year. And I have that statue still so replaced the Gatorade trophy with my lifter of the year trophy. What it got a giraffe with a barbell on her shoulder? It's a girl with a huge barbell on her shoulder and she's got thick thighs and putting up 105. No, no, no, be here on the table next week. But so really I didn't get to the strength aspect till much later. Don't know if I would do that same route again. At Nebraska you're talking about they had a strength and conditioning. didn't they didn't start you. No, no, no, it was more so like me. Like you can't just like go from zero to 100 and strength strength training. That's you know, little by little. Yeah, it's little by little. And so it really took me you know, the two solid years, three years, because it was really from junior year to senior year. But that I finally was all in, ⁓ mentally too, because it's when you walk up to something that's heavy and that you've never done before. Why are laughing? It can break you. So anyway, it took me while. Right. But looking back, I don't know if I would change anything. I think that I would. see my nieces who are 19 and 17 years old and they've done, they've competed in powerlifting meets and I'm just like, yeah, that would have been really cool when I was in high school to be that strong already. You think that would have helped your volleyball? I do. Yeah. Powerlifting moves? I mean, I can't, I would think that it would definitely help. Okay. But I'm not... I'm not doing only power lifting. It's a lot of accessory work and like the flexibility. Yes, exactly. And stretching is so important as I learned two weeks ago, because I'm that old, but I'm an old mom now. And so I don't even take the time to stretch anymore. I threw out my back just vacuuming. So said all that to say this, that I think Zuzo would be a good resource for anybody out there. And I feel like based on the quality of products she's posting on Instagram that she would be glad to be a resource. Inform. Yeah. Inform, resource. So we actually need to connect. I probably need to connect with her and see where that relationship goes. Lastly, on the hot tea, I was asking about is there any incentive to be on the All-Star team? I looked and it looks like there is no incentive to be on the All-Star team from a compensation standpoint. it's more just a resume booster. For the next year. I think so, yeah. But there is compensation related to player of the year, rookie of the year, outside hitter of the year, these postseason accolades. There is compensation for that as well as championship compensation. yeah. Yeah, I think if, man, I wish I could remember the exact number. It's probably better that I don't say. Maybe it is better than I say, but. It's legit. It's. It's a chunk? It's five figures. Okay. One hundred? So it's ten thousand or more. Ten thousand or more. And that would be like if you're the rookie of the year. I'm assuming outside of the year, if you're a player of the year, it's the most. but yeah, interesting. Different companies, there is compensation for that. I think for the All-Star, the compensation isn't in the form of money. It's more so like you get this all-star jersey, you get this special treat because, you know, depends on who's the main sponsor the all-star, but maybe they give you like a gift package, you know. So it's more things like that versus compensation. And congratulations, you get to jump on a plane and travel to Orlando. I bet you're going to look forward to that. I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but they probably are looking forward to it if they're in Nebraska right now because this crazy bipolar weather, it was eight degrees this morning and on Thursday it's going to be 80. It's like, why do we live here? So the goal is to, we want to talk to somebody that's going to received the All-Star votes and to have them on the podcast. Yeah. So we'll work that through and see if we can make it happen. Well, hopefully we can do a twi- a quick turnaround because we won't know until tomorrow. And so then we'll have to know. The game's not till the 28th. Oh, yeah. OK. Should be good. But that's next week, right? I don't know. Yeah, that's next week. 16th. Next weekend. That'd be 16 plus 7 is 23. That's on Monday, but then you go to the weekend. Well, stay tuned. We'll see. Yeah, we'll see. Let's jump right into week 10 recap. Tuesday. Was there a Tuesday game? Yeah. Remember it was a weird. Oh yeah, that's right. We're recording on that day. Omaha versus Columbus. You picked Omaha. I picked Columbus and? Omaha one and three. It was so relieving. It was really just like. in a row or? Yeah, I think it was, I think it was six. would have been seven, but we put an end to that. think this was just the for who knows why, but this was the spark. Don't know what created it, but ⁓ I think it was a great back to normal performance for the Omaha Supernovas. We all know, I guess maybe I can't speak for everybody, but I know that they have it in them. just don't know what it was going to take to reveal it or get it back. to the court, but I think it started on this Tuesday night and we'll explain more when we get to Saturday's match. But it never hurts to break a losing streak with the eighth place team. It doesn't matter. It does not matter who it is as long as you came home with the dub. That's the main thing. we've seen this season, you can lose to anybody. it doesn't matter that Columbus was currently an eighth. We still pulled out the win. ⁓ wasn't the game. I was going to say in my opinion, it wasn't the greatest game. the stat sheet, it's just like, but will for Omaha, Sarah Parsons was another incredible performance by her. Yeah, the ebb and flow. Now she's back. She started the season starting on the outside. Then they went to Cooper for several matches. Now we're back to Parson starting. Yeah. don't... Yeah, I don't even really know what to say to that, but... Doesn't a lot of it have to do with passing? Yes. I think that is the only thing that has to do with it. I Sarah is a very consistent passer. And Regan, a dominant attacker, not a lot of people can defend her. It's just kind of unorthodox, I think we've talked about. Like you just don't... know where she's going. she's ⁓ highly successful attacker, but as far as passing, think Sarah is ⁓ a bit more dominant in that area. And she had a great match. Yeah, she set ⁓ a record. She broke, think it was her own franchise record from the very opening match of the season with 18 kills hitting 441. And it was a match high of 12 digs with one block. So this was her second straight double double and fifth of the season. Okay. So she, she did great. I was in three sets. I would consider that a three set stat sheet stuffer. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. When I say it wasn't a great game, I still don't think it was a great game, but Sarah individually, her game was on point. And then Janice Leo. Establishing herself in the middle. mean, she started again, started the season, middle blocker, series of matches, didn't see her, didn't hear from her, nothing. It's part of the whole question jumble package that we have for the Omaha supernovas this year. What do you make of that though? I don't know, Doc. I don't know. just, know I've said it before and I'm sorry to say it again, but it just could be for so many different reasons that we don't know. But I think the bottom line is if you're not starting, it probably means that you're not performing in practice as well as the others. That's, if had to make an assumption, that would be the reason. And just because you didn't start this week, this month, doesn't mean you're not going to start next week. or next month, just keep practicing, just keep putting in the reps, just keep being a good teammate, keep being a good cheerleader, because you never know. You never know when it's going to be your time. You never know when you're going to get the call. And so what do you always say? Stay ready. So when your numbers called, you don't have to get ready. You're welcome. But Columbus Raina Terry could not get it going whatsoever. I know. I was like, dang, this is... They never took her out, but I'm just like, man, poor girl. She's just struggling. She could not lead her team like she normally does. And when she struggles, they struggle. Yeah. That's the bottom line. I think Regan Pittman Nelson gave it her best. I think I really applaud her emotional leadership. I feel like she's really fiery for her team, but it just wasn't enough. In light of all that, I think those are my two picks for If each team gets two, I think I'm going with Reagan Pittman and Raina Terry as all-stars from Columbus. I would agree with that. I think those are good choices. on to Thursday, Orlando versus Indy. Indy wins in three in a sweep. Yeah, we saw Natalie Foster just again, her serve is just so impressive. And we saw that this last week, she is the first MLV player to reach a hundred aces. Okay. Is that in two seasons or three seasons for her? Do you remember? For her? Yes. I think two. So she was a rookie last year. Yep. So that's 50. She's going to be well over that. She's averaged probably two or three a match. or more. Or more. Yeah. So she's, that's really impressive because I mean, we've had players in this, in this league for all three seasons. I think of just on Omaha alone, have Brooke and Sydney who have been all three years ⁓ I don't even think they're close to 100. And ⁓ mean that respectfully because Natalie is just so above and beyond her serve is just ⁓ a weapon. As a former player, are you a former player? Do you still play? Does it count when we play ball? don't think it counts anymore. What's it like from both points of view to have a server on your team like a Natalie Foster? What's the value for that? then when you're trying to pass that, how does that impact the rotation? ⁓ you set up, how you receive that serve? Can you speak to it from both sides of the net, please? So being ⁓ her side, on her team, it's like, You have this mindset of like, our biggest weapon is up. We have to do everything possible to keep her serving. Keep her on the line. We have to keep her back there. So if that's like helping her out in defense or making sure we're disciplined on our block or, you know, all the things. That's like the mindset you have as a teammate is like, she's going to get us through this. Like we got to do our part and keep her back there. From a serve receive standpoint. From the opponent's side, it is a mental game. ⁓ you got it. There are times you're back there and your legs are shaking and you're Are you moving pieces around, knowing what kind of serve? Are you moving people around, around? I would say ⁓ depends team by team. OK. And it depends on what rotation you're in. if you're, ⁓ know, if Natalie Foster's serve is really your biggest concern as a coach, then you're going to try and do the best matchup that you can rotationally. So you have your strongest passer probably in the middle of the court. So there's just a lot to think about. don't necessarily, I wouldn't think that there's a coach out there this year that's doing that just to match up with the serve. I think they would be matching up with hitters instead, but who knows. But with an elite server, I wouldn't be surprised. mean, because we only know about the aces. We don't know about how many times she got him out of system with her elite serve. Yeah. And which, yeah, no, that's a great point. So, but back to the perspective of being the opponent, mean, passing serve receive is a mental game. It, it really is all mental. doesn't matter how athletic you are. If your mind isn't right, like you're not going to nail the pass. so ⁓ if have, holy moly, like you're the best server. I'm you just start to downward spiral in your head. ⁓ ball is probably going to find you. It does when you're like that. And when it doesn't, you're like, my gosh, like sigh of relief. ⁓ I didn't to pass it. But then when you lose the next point, you're like, here we go again. ⁓ It's like, really hard as an athlete to not think those thoughts because you're like, okay, here we go. ⁓ I would Yes, it's hard not to do that, but it's definitely possible to not do it. If you're an elite player, which hopefully we see a lot of elite players in the league, but you're thinking instead of, please pass, or please don't make me pass it. You're thinking, all right, what you got? Here we go. And if pass it, great. If I don't, well, I get another opportunity. Just hit me with your best shot. Fire away. Is it safe to say from the offensive side of the net, keep her on the line. Yeah. From the other side of the net, get her off the line. opposites. But good for her. mean, she's establishing herself as the by far the best server in the MLB. And I would put her up against maybe any other serve in the other league. You can say it. The LOVB. You can say it. So I love it when someone's like, love B. Love B. Love B, you know that league? I'm like, yeah, love B. Anyway, the team, Indy, they swept Orlando and they hit three, what's that say? 381. 381 as a team, is amazing. That's too good, right? You can't be hitting that. Especially with Kaz Brown and Natalie Foster in the middle. I let's get some blocks going. Let's go, let's do something. Let's cause some challenges. No Brooke Moller, it Blake? Brooke? Blake. MOLAR. M &M. Blake. No Blake. MOLAR. No problem. I mean, but no disrespect to her. mean, she's still, that's what I think. Sorry. When you say like, no, no Blake MOLAR, no problem. I'm like, oh, like she's not as good. I don't know the- No. Okay. That's what- Okay. Just making She's the other part of the M &M. She's the other M. Martin and MOLAR. Yeah, Exactly. Exactly. The point is- Catch up, kid. Yeah. You're talking to someone else, not me, but- The point is that Indy's roster, they could literally plug in anybody that they have and they- No Molar, no problem. No Tealer, no problem. No Lekitor, no problem. but Tealer comes in, she gets subbed in sets one and two. She didn't start either of them. then she started the third set. So arguably she played only one maybe a couple extra points. Girl comes in. Gets 11 points hitting 529. And hasn't played in how many matches? I don't know that, but it's been a while. She came off the bench fresh. Just like what the heck? Just looking to do damage right from the get go. I would love to just talk to her. How hard is that as a player too? But I mean, she knows in the back of her mind, I'm a starter. All that. But that's everybody on Indy could be thinking that. And that ain't wrong. Yeah. That's not a bad mentality to have. It's not a bad mentality to have if that's the only mentality that you have. If you have that mentality on top of, be, I am the starter or I am all that, but not starting. That's okay. I'm going to cheer on someone else. And I'm going to rest my body. I'm going to rest my mind. I'm going to watch for a little bit, ⁓ you just taking advantage of being on the bench, being a good teammate. But yeah. So, ⁓ Tealer. Just so good. then the beer was hitting the bombs. Yep. She was hitting the moms. led 14 points. Lydia does what she did. 769. Are you kidding me? That's what she do. I like, we got to see her this weekend and we'll talk about that in a little bit. like to, I like to see her. like Nancy to get to Saturday. know. still to do Friday. How we doing on time here? 40 minutes. I know you got a lot of, you got to say about Saturday, but I like how she makes herself available all the time. She's not assuming the ball is gonna go to the pin. Even if it's a bad angle, even if it's Mia somewhere else, there's a strong possibility that she may get the ball so she's ready. I noticed that this weekend She's really quick too. Her arm swing is really Quick arm swing? Yeah. That helps. Definitely. Let's move on. Grand Rapids at Atlanta. Grand Rapids wins in four. They dropped the fur, the opening set and then came storming back. Yeah, so I thought Atlanta would win this one, but you picked Grand Rapids. good for you. Good for you, Doc. back to my original point last week, I love Cameron Turner's setting. Did get to watch this one? I did get I didn't get to see the first set. OK, but I did watch the rest of it. I feel like she's really athletic. I feel like she speeds up the tempo. I just think she's doing a good job. I think they're a better team with her than Sage. Yeah, yeah. I think Cameron's doing a really good job despite her size. I think she be the same size as Nati. But don't feel that. No, she's athletic. Yeah, she's a good job. would second your applause towards her. What Grand Rapids was led by Carly Snyder with 15 points and then ⁓ Candelo Alonso Corsales 15 points and five blocks. That's impressive. And actually the Grand The rise out blocked the vibe 18 to nine. 18 to nine. Yes. No, I'm sorry. was thinking of a different match, but yes, I remember watching like, wow, we're actually watching a block party right now. Grand Rapids was everywhere. And like they were shutting down Leah. Like Leah was getting like roof block. It wasn't just like lucky blocks. Is Grand Rapids leading the league in blocks? Grand Rapids? Don't know for sure. And I always thought it was Columbus. It's either one of those two. Yeah, Columbus has been. I don't know if they currently still are. But either way, Grand Rapids wins in four. They beat Atlanta. Atlanta was led by Iko, who had 25 points on 24 kills. Iko is doing really well right now. To me, she's the best opposite in the league. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know if I can confidently say that as much as you, but I would say she's up there. She's one of the all-stars, for sure. I hope that she got picked, yeah. Right. That would be my guess. She's been really playing very strong the last few matches, which is, don't know, a few matches ago, maybe like a week, two weeks ago, I'm like, who's going to start? Anna or Iko? But Iko is really like... Anna DeBeer? No, Anna Dixon. come ⁓ ⁓ could. have been starting for a while and has been playing well. But I'm getting subbed in and was doing really well when she got subbed in. Regardless, I go has been the leader of their team, arguably more than Leah lately. Definitely gives them another option so that they're not so pin heavy with Leah. Yep. I agree. ⁓ move right along. Dallas beat Columbus in three. Yep. We both picked Dallas. Akasha led the team for Columbus with 12 points. love Lindsey Van Buskirk right now. She's a very consistent player as of late. Right. Her and Nati seem to have a good connection. Yeah. And she's Canadian. So they're a coach. is familiar with her as well. I've played with her on the ⁓ coached her on the national team, but she's just really, doing her job well. ⁓ van Buskirk, I'll say. In this match, she hit 6-11 with 13 kills out of the middle. That's pretty good, isn't it? Yeah. And scored 14 points. Very strong. And ⁓ ⁓ on the commentary that apparently she was like a big time tennis player or like she loved playing tennis. At like 6-6? I believe it. And so they mentioned like on her serve, like that's that top spin. She does have a top spin. Yeah. Looks a little funky. It's pretty hard. It does. It's like to me, it looks so awkward. Right. Like just the approach doesn't seem natural and like her arm swings both of them. Like it just does not look natural to me and that she's not going to make good contact. But It works for her. You talk about an unnatural serve. have Van Buskirk, which looks unnatural. have Phoebe, looks unnatural. What would a natural serve look like? We got the unnatural in Phoebe and Van Buskirk. I think of ⁓ of Mia and her, how natural her toss is and her approach and swing on After this weekend, she was tossing up to the rafters. I was like, how are you going to ever hit this on your hand? I know, actually, I- I was like, ⁓ down 50 feet. But regardless of her height of toss, everything about that is like from slow to fast and it's natural. With Phoebe's and with Lindsay's, it's choppy. It looks like the arms and the legs don't connect. of like you back in college. No, like my freshman year, I like led the big 12 and aces or something like that. But and it was because I was natural. I wasn't awkward. Okay. ⁓ But Take that part out. We don't need that in there about me, but gosh, now I don't even know what we're saying. What does a natural serve look like? Oh, and I was just saying like Mia would be a great example or even someone like Lecator. Who does it? I'm thinking of a jump spin. Yeah, you are. that's what Lindsay does. OK. So I'm just comparing those. When you think of a float serve in Phoebe's case, you think Sydney. I think Sydney is a very consistent, ⁓ Hilly, ⁓ float server ⁓ how it's just like ⁓ One motion. One motion. It's very smooth. Fluid. And like contact high. Sometimes I don't know how Phoebe gets it over the net. Same, especially when it's- It's so low, but hey, it works for her. very tricky sometimes. let her do it. It's something that you can't coach. She's just got to do it on her own. Take notes from Natalie Foster. She's got a fluid serve. What does she have? A jump? She is like a hybrid. Hybrid? Yeah. Good luck with that one. I've tried that before. It's tough. High risk, high reward. led with Maldonado Diaz, led with 17 points ⁓ that three set win over Columbus. Saturday, San Diego versus Orlando. Orlando swept. San Diego. had them. Did you have them sweep? I picked Orlando. You picked San Diego. I was not anticipating a sweep. Me either. thought, know, San Diego has been really feisty testing some people left and right these days. And so I thought that it would have been it would have been a little more competitive. Was not anticipating a sweep. No, because I mean, San Diego got pretty much nothing out of most of the team other than Loweburg with 12 points. But Orlando Foster add another tick to her ace. And Shemay and Charity, 17 points each. That's in a three set. I mean, man, they must have been the only ones who were scoring. That's pretty good. That's pretty, pretty good. good. Let's go to Indy versus Omaha. In Omaha. Finally, we get to talk about the luck of the Novas match. I can't wait. You were sitting on the court rubbing elbows with all the I got to sit next to Matt Ruhl, but I didn't get to talk to him one time. That one I was too nervous for, admittedly. Matt Ruhl, head coach for the Huskers. I can't do it. Thanks for joining us for this record breaking match. Also, are so many people that want to meet you. I just want to give you a break. Sometimes that's why I'm like, just let him enjoy the game. Was he there with his daughter? He was there with his daughter, Okay, that was cool. But man, I don't even know where to start, Doc. Let's talk about the record. the record that was broken, went down for real in Omaha. It was incredible. So if you were there early, you got to see the gym, which you got to see it because I heard you helped set out all those rally towels. So we had 17,000 rally towels on every single chair in the arena. It was beautiful. It was like not a single towel had fallen off. Like it just looked beautiful. Picturesque. I know it's weird to describe like a gym is beautiful, but that's really like the symmetry in the place and the colors and it just was so beautiful. was sold out. So had dollar beer night. did you any feedback from the dollar beer night that only went from 5.30 PM ⁓ to seven? game started at seven in order to get a dollar beer. You had to stand in line pretty much from 5.30 to seven to get a dollar beer. Listen, I think it's wrong, but it's not our just it's not up to us. It's a up to CHI. No, it's not a right or wrong thing. This is how the games play. And I was going to say this is how they do it for Creighton men's basketball and for what else? beer and that's how we did it last year too. So yes, I got some feedback that it was a little misleading to call it dollar beer night, but this is this is how it was last probably don't want it during the match. You want them there early. and often get their beer, get your seat and enjoy the match. We're not contributing to you getting smacked. seats during the match. You know what I mean? Because we had those lines, only so many ⁓ you can buy the beer And I've seen the line that was... And so the lines, they get pretty ⁓ We didn't want people doing that during the game. But I will say it helped contribute to the rowdiness of the crowd. So keep going down the description. So, Did you say 16,850? No, I'm trying. on a tight schedule here. So, first serve happens, know, people are still coming in. It just was so electric so fun. And the best part of all is that the Omaha Supernovas ⁓ showed The volleyball team? The team. Yes. It was from point number ⁓ one. was like, this is to be good. Right. ⁓ They just, I know they talked about playing with joy. I feel like that's been talked about a lot this season. Not even, no, you see it on socials all the time. And that is ⁓ I would describe Saturday as. I feel like they finally let go of whether it was pressure or ⁓ don't know, different expectations, but they finally played as they should be playing. I didn't see that playing with joy. What I've seen is there is no way in H-E double hockey sticks we are going to lose this match. The world is here. but when you have that mindset, feel like joy comes with that. Okay. When you're winning. It's a byproduct of that? Yeah. Because I would, I... And it helps to get a good start. They got a good start. I would say that I intentionally was watching players and I think... they were a lot more emotional as far as like celebratory. And so I think playing with Joy was definitely a change in their performance, but they played so well, so strong. We thought they were about to get a sweep against Indy cause they had won the first two and then the third set was neck and neck. ⁓ they only lost by, wasn't it 27, 25? look. I'm pretty sure it was 27-25. It was competitive. Then the fourth set, same thing, thought maybe they were going to win that because it also was very close. And then here we go, set five, and I'm like, oh my goodness, what is going to happen? But the crowd was just so loud. They stayed. It was like 930. It was 9 p.m. when the third set ended. Right. That is crazy. That's two hours just for three sets. So super great volleyball, so competitive. The crowd was, know, chucking the rally towels around. I have a video of, took a video of going side to side in the arena and then I panned to my forearm because I had goosebumps. I had actual goosebumps just experiencing like the livelihood of the crowd. Did you put that on your socials? Put that on our MLM socials. Okay, I'll send it to you. Not to me, to Mason. I don't know how to put forward that. Yeah, true, true, So it was, you know, the luck of the Novas match is always my favorite match every year. Every season it's my favorite one. I don't know if it's the Irish in me or what, but it is so special every single year. And this year did not disappoint. We upset the number one team. We got 16,838 people in the building, sell out, crowd. Jacob told me like the morning of we only had 400 tickets left and they were standing room only. So I'm like, this is gonna be wild. Got to meet the commissioner, got to talk with Jen Spiker. I mean, it just was ⁓ fun all Like just never a dull moment, never any panic or negativity or anything. It was just. fun from the get-go. So such a unique experience if you were not there and you're from Omaha, FOMO, because you missed out for sure. so cool that we could be a part of that historic moment. I feel like the players responded like what you mentioned. From a player's point of view, what's it like to have, have you ever played in front of 17,000 people? Maybe the I think so. Are you kidding me? You've never been? No. Whoops. Geez, get that knife out of my back. think I've played in front of that many in Indonesia. wow. Yeah, they have a crazy amount of fans. What's it like from a player's point of view? I wouldn't want it any other way. OK. I would love... Is it harder to play in front of no people, ⁓ no or a couple, few hundred or a couple, few thousand? Not harder in the sense of like my performance is going to change. for me. I'm speaking individually, but different for sure in the sense of am I playing with more joy, more excitement when you're playing in a gym where there's maybe 500 people. I think of season one back in San Diego when there's like 500 or less people in this huge like bowl. It's not as fun. Not even really close. It's like you're practicing more than playing. So I would, if you're asking me, my personal opinion, I would rather have 16,000 people every time. That's what I'm talking about. What is it about Omaha and Nebraska? Because it wasn't just Omaha people that were there. We knew people that came from Lincoln. A lot of people came from Lincoln, probably from the surrounding. We have a season ticket member from Connecticut. How does that even make sense? They gotta be making a donation. Maybe they got a client here or something, who knows? I don't know. No, we've like we've seen them. OK, so they actually I don't know. I don't get it. So what was your question? How are you going to finish that? How do you how do you? What is it about the Omaha Supernovas and maybe volleyball in general? That draws that's able to draw 17000 people to a volleyball event. I think it's twofold. I think Nebraska itself doesn't have like a major did not have a major professional team like we don't have the Chiefs. We don't have. I don't know. A lot of factors. A lot of weather was beautiful. There was nothing competing that night. Nope. Yep. All of that. ⁓ so fact that we are the only major professional team, have some minor professional teams here, but I think that really excites the people who live here. on top of that is we are known as the volleyball state. So, they want see volleyball. But another, a third part, I should have probably said first is props to our team and our staff because they did an incredible job of promoting this, thinking strategically, putting all plans in place. it just, everything came together beautifully and we set the record. And thankfully the supernovas showed up and what do you say, showed out? Showed up and showed out. And I got to give shout out to, well, Sarah Parsons also another incredible performance by her, but Janice Liao. how Lance always says it in ⁓ the PA. ⁓ ⁓ it. Liao. Another good match by her. ⁓ Where did that come from? They were blocking everything. I got to do the pre-match interview with her ⁓ that day. Maybe that's the key. Okay. No. you do the pre-match interview goes off. I guess I'll take no. I'll look back and see. She was, you know what really, what really, what's the, ⁓ can I of it? What really stuck with me ⁓ is I her like, hey, it's no secret. We're about to have a sellout crowd. tell me what does it mean to you as a player to be able to play in an atmosphere like this? And she talked about how she has immigrant parents and how this was never even a possibility ⁓ ⁓ ⁓ for her, she never thought that something like this could happen. And so that really stuck with me because I was like, wow, that's a really unique perspective that not everyone can say. And so I'm wondering if maybe that was what really motivated her to have this dominating performance. She was the player of the match setting a franchise record ⁓ blocks for a single match, which was nine. And, just what a beautiful story for her night. Like a night she'll never forget. And so I was so happy. She was blocking everything, got the match winning point I'm I'm kinda getting goosebumps all Goosebumps or choked up? But mean... No, goosebumps. Well, they out-blocked Indy 18-9. And she had eight of them? She had nine of them. Nine, okay. So she had half. Which, I don't think we've seen that this so far. I don't think there's been one match where we've out-blocked I mean... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but just from thinking back, ⁓ think we're the bottom of the league in blocks. Okay. So ⁓ was huge. And we were talking afterwards, a couple of us, and it's like, that must be the factor because Indy outperformed us in every other stat except blocking. So what does that tell you? That's what we're like, okay, blocking must... Someone that I speaking to told me that they think blocking is why you win or lose. Really? They didn't think it was necessarily the serve and pass game, which I think 99 out of 100 coaches would tell you it's the serve and pass game. Because Indy had 15 service errors in the match. 15 in a five setter? I think Mia had like five on her own. She struggled. I think it was like a tour maybe or maybe it was Azani. was another top spin server that they also missed a lot. I don't know. I don't want to call out names, I guess, because I don't know for sure off memory. Blocking the key difference of this match. On one hand, we have blocking being the toughest skill to master, but on the other hand, we have blocking being the most important In this match. In this match. That's why I'm like, I don't know if you can say the most important thing. I would say that there is truth to it though, because I've always said how a middle blocker is like your biggest difference maker. And they do all the blocking. an outside hitter standpoint, how does that change the way you approach hitting when you have, when you're getting blocked ⁓ right after the other? ⁓ does that change your mindset, your approach, your be always trying to swing line from then on out, which is very interesting because Brooke and Sarah, the outsides for Omaha, they didn't hit line one time, not one time on ⁓ Saturday. to them, the blockers for Indy weren't necessarily blocking them. would be Kayla and Anna, were they attacking line? And I would say that they did. They definitely attacked line at times They were almost always successful when they did swing line. So as an attacker, if I'm consistently getting blocked by the middle blocker, I'm either going to tip over her or swing line. Those are my only options. Make it happen, Captain. Unless I'm confident that I'm higher than the middle, but that doesn't happen often. So you got Sarah Parsons back in the saddle on the outside. What do you make of that? mean, she's a mom. I feel like she's got her strength back. She's got her mojo back. ⁓ getting acclimated postpartum to the MLV, you know, what it takes to travel, the demands, the mental demands. I feel like she's getting her traction, getting her rhythm. Would you agree? I would definitely agree. And ⁓ a mom who also went through that, ⁓ wondering, like, I don't know for sure, but when I was doing that, it was breastfeeding was really hard. That's what really drained me and was tough to keep sustaining like strength. And so now that we're halfway through or over halfway through and her son is growing, I'm thinking maybe he's eating more whole foods now and putting less stress on her body. I don't know. That would just be my assumption. she's definitely looking like her full self, full strength again. Really helped the supernovas. She led with 21 points. Landau had 17 at the opposite. And then you mentioned the libero. Talk to me what you seen in her play on that night. I think that she had key, huge digs and key moments. ⁓ I think that she had like an outstanding number of digs. I would to go check that, but ⁓ she just was she dug when she needed to. they were ⁓ like momentum shifters ⁓ my opinion. I thought she did really well. Thought she passed well too. So, other that was everybody, everybody on that team did their part that night. So what does it mean? So Omaha doubled up on blocks on them, but then you look at the digs, Indy had 85 digs. Omaha had 59. That's almost a 30 point discrepancy. Well, you have to take in consideration the blocking. If they're getting double the amount of blocks, that means they don't even have opportunity to digs. To dig. Okay. Excuse me. But I mean, that's 30. There's a nine block discrepancy and almost a 30 discrepancy in digs. What is that telling you? it tells me that blocking is the only reason why we won that night. It does. So it all leads back to that. I think so. Yeah. I think that that's really, I mean, that's it. Because according to some of our fans, the debate is whether the block is becoming the most important weapon in the league, more important than serving, more important than any other. I don't know as a player and as a coach. I don't think I could ever say that blocking is more important than serving. I think serving will always be the most important thing because that's the start of play. Okay. So number one serving. You want to get them out of system. Okay. So that's, I think that's the most important thing. Can we go then number one serving for sure. I would say. Number two passing. Now here's, here is the interesting part of the conversation is passing next or is blocking next? Because we've seen, we're at a level now where we have elite athletes outside hitters. who can put away out of system balls. So now if that's the case, then we don't have this huge emphasis on passing, which will always remain an important skill. No questions about that. But if I am ranking, now would I put blocking in front of I think I'm leaning that ⁓ I think I'm a believer in that now. I'd be interesting for our audience to kind of rank those because then you got setting in there. What's the value of setting? mean, we got the two top setters in the league from my point of view and Mia and Natalie. It just so happens to be that they're the top two teams in the league. you mean ⁓ Nati, what I say, Natalie. Nati and Mia. Yeah. Settings got to be up there, right up there too. So I'd be interested to see what other people think. That is, we need to put that up for debate and see. Maybe our IT guy could create a poll or some kind of. Let's do a poll. Because that's, mean, everybody is going to have a justifiable argument on which one, why this one is more than this one and why this one is more important. Like there's, I could see an argument for every skill. So it's going to see, it'll be interesting to see what the majority is. I don't know. I'm still old school defense. Offense wins games, defense wins championships. So I'm ranking defense over offense. OK, but when you say defense, do you mean only back row digging? Digging, blocking is defense. OK, that was my question. Yeah. OK. But the jury's still out. I'd love to know what our audience thinks. How do we go from 40 minutes to an hour and eight and only we're getting ready to shut it down. two minutes has gone by. What happened? ⁓ have the Sunday napternoon match. This is trap match for Atlanta. Yeah. I mean, it was competitive the first two sets, this is kind of a shocker. Leah Edmond getting subbed out. You don't really ever see that often or ever. Pia and were the outsides when the game ended. So that was really interesting. know, I got to say you're a human. You're not going to play perfect every single match. So It should never be an expectation that you put on yourself, but on someone else. we're all human. We can't play perfect every time despite our efforts. I'm not saying that the effort wasn't there. It's just sometimes just like we look back at Raina Terry this last week. Didn't play best. It happens. On the other side of the net, Nati does what Nati does. She did what she does. Man, I texted her and I was like, I am just so proud of you. don't know if like, I don't know if like this was a change that I don't want to say that she needed, but. You mean going from Omaha to Dallas? Like, but in the sense of like, she's just ⁓ this new team, this new thing that doesn't have any expectations where, you know, this this coach really trusts her and Nati really trusts her in return and you know, her teammates really trust her and look to her to lead their team. It's just a, it's just a lot of different things. But I'm like, this is who you are. This is the player that you are and I'm really proud of you. You know, I just don't think that Even when we won the championship in season one, I don't really think we saw Nati at her full capacity. I think it's just awesome to see her raising her level as she ages. She's just getting better and better and better. I know, I know. And that's tough because I know she wants a family as well. So it's like that's such a hard thing to to battle through. But you're absolutely right. She's like fine wine. She is just getting better with age. Which how? It never hurts to have thunder and lightning on your team. Yeah, they're doing so good as rookies. I'm just curious what they're going to perform like in the end when it matters. Obviously, they're one of the top two teams in league. I don't see anything changing. think they don't change their lineup a lot. They're plugging and playing like Indy is. They kind of roll with who they put in there. Do you see it? Or am I wrong? ⁓ No. mean, they... put Kaylee Cox on the opposite. So we saw Tristan Savage back in the lineup, which she started in the beginning. But your point, I feel like they are one of the teams in this league who hasn't changed their lineup too much. So how do you think that impacts their team if it does down the stretch because they've been having the same either positive or negative the same players week in and week out as we get late into the season. It's a long season. Get down to the final four. Yeah, they're pretty much locked into the final four at this point, I would guess. I think so. I think on the positive side, if their starters are playing well, then they got nothing to worry about and change. They're they're youth. And they're going to perform based on their history, they're going to perform well. But on the opposite, ⁓ they don't perform well and now coach is going to have to be forced to sub in everyone else, then it's like, boy, ⁓ we have a lot of experience with this. So ⁓ it'll interesting. ⁓ I think Dallas will still, I am, I'm anticipating them performing well and being, you know, stand out. But it's a long season. It is. they're young. Yeah. We don't know much about their bench. We'll see how it plays out in the end. Yep. Good for them though. They're still in second. Rookie of the week. You want to talk about those? Yeah. I think from now on it's instead of saying, calling rookie of the week, it's going to say Sophia or Mimi. Which one's better this week? Yeah. For me, Sophia won this week. I just really disappointed with how many serves Mimi misses. It is frustrating me because in my opinion, they don't seem like, I mean, when you're hitting the net. They're not competitive misses? They could because I haven't seen them live in person other than when they were here once, but I'm just very disappointed with how often it happens. I'm like, you got to limit yourself, girl. trying to go for it, that's great. But if you're up to three misses already, then you got to tone it back a little bit and help your team. Because it's like, I don't know, I'm just that for me is an irritation. Okay. I can get with Sophia as the rookie of week because of the two sweeps, Dallas swept both matches this week and she played outstanding. Player of the week, this is kind of boring, but. It's boring because we have the same answers on all of these. questions. High-key impressive player, the player of week you want to? Sarah Wilhite Parsons. Outstanding back-to-back performances this week did an amazing job. Good for her. Low-key impressive player or the lip. Lip. We both. You got to say it like you're supposed to. does he say it? Janice Liao. Liao. Yep. Yeah. That was just her just rising out of nowhere and shining like no other. She was amazing. She shined bright like a diamond. She was a diamond that night. played awesome. Good for her. Match of the week. No surprise here. brainer. The Omaha Supernovas versus the Indy Ignite. This is your last chance to talk about that match. Is there anything else you want our audience to know about? Do you still have goosebumps? That was so good. It was so good. You want to run it back? I think- I'm just daydreaming right now as I look into the sky. aren't they? Indy is coming back. Yeah. That was their first time here in Omaha this season. So they'll be back. Not this week, next week, I think. It's pretty close turnaround. But Indy, I will say Indy played well. Like, did we say that yet? I don't know if we even highlighted any of their players. We don't have to now because we're short on time, but just throwing that out there real quick is like they played well. It's not like they just were terrible all over the place and that's why Omaha won. No, but I thought Omaha played well. Yeah. is the best. That's the best with the most stank and the most swag and the most grit that I've seen him play all year. Absolutely. And if it takes 17,000 people to bring the best out of the supernovas, let's show up. Run it back this Friday night. show up. All right, guys. League standings. Not a lot. ⁓ we still got that log jam in the middle. is a big difference. Yeah, in a week. a few days ago, Omaha was sitting six. Right. Now we've slid up with that win against Indy. We've slid all the way back to third. So it's Indy in first, Dallas second, Omaha third, Orlando fourth, Atlanta fifth, San Diego sixth, Grand Rapids seventh, and Columbus staying in that eighth spot. So the big jump is Omaha jumps up to third and kind of hopefully with the win this week can separate them from the rest of the middle of the pack and then they can solidify themselves in the third spot hopefully and then those guys can fight it out for fourth. All right. Yep. week 11 preview week 11 preview Wednesday match this week. We got Dallas versus Grand Rapids 6 PM on YouTube. I am picking Dallas doc. Who are you picking? I'm going with Dallas too in four. Okay. You got the next one. Yep. Thursday Orlando Atlanta. GMP picks Orlando and I pick Orlando. Oh man. We're going to work this episode we're all in agreement here Columbus with versus Indy at Indy we both got Indy Yeah. And then Friday's match is Grand Rapids versus Omaha. This one will be interesting. I mean, because it's like, is Omaha going to maintain this spark that they have? Was it a flash in the pan or was it, is this going to here to stay? That's the big question. And Grand Rapids has been performing well. mean, they just swept, not sorry, they didn't sweep, but they upset Atlanta. I'm going with Omaha too. And before that, they beat us. So this is an interesting be the homecoming for the Morgan Hentz effect. Yeah, that's right. it's how it her first trip back to Omaha, how she's received to see if we have any awkward video presentations or. Like bird. Any awkward. I guess we'll see. Who are you picking? Welcome back home Omaha. You're going to Omaha? And then Saturday, San Diego versus Dallas. No Sunday match. No Sunday match this week. No Dallas on that one too. Oh really? Yeah. I you loved San Diego. No, I gotta go with Dallas on that one. Okay. Second best team in the league as far as I'm concerned. But I do have some hope for Omaha moving up in the standings and moving up in their level of play. So hopefully they can secure more of that final four position stacking up some wins here down the stretch as we get maybe we're over halfway moving to three quarters of the way through the season.
