Stephanie Stephan: Welcome to a new episode of Purr Sparks and Tweets with Love. My name is Stephanie Sefan. This is a podcast for animal lovers. All animals are beautiful beings. They're sentient, they're magical, and they have lessons to teach us. Today I would like to talk about crows. I would like to set the record straight regarding their reputation. I believe that in media, especially classic such as Alfred Hitchcock, ⁓ got a really bad rap and it was ⁓ awful they are associated with violence. ⁓ Instead, these ⁓ these ⁓ are intelligent creatures. ⁓ They the intelligence of a human being about seven old. They can, in fact, do different tasks to achieve a specific goal that they have in mind. So for example, I was chatting with a person just last week was me how he admired ⁓ watching the go to the top of an electric line, ⁓ drop a ⁓ let the ⁓ go by, crash that ⁓ And then there were no cars on the road, go back down on the street and pick up the food. without having to go through the effort of cracking that nut themselves. Isn't that incredible that a bird has that level of intelligence we associate them with violence just because in movie they were portrayed as being violent creatures? Another ⁓ cool trait about that I would like to share is that they ⁓ have an memory. If for example, you ⁓ walking the street and for some reason you hurt a crow ⁓ intentionally, that will always remember who you are. ⁓ And time that you pass down the street, ⁓ that will potentially throw things at you ⁓ to you know ⁓ you dangerous. Please keep away. ⁓ For own protection and also... ⁓ as a way of letting you know that that was. you That is also another way that Crows will teach us a lesson. For that reason, what I would like to say today is not one particular story necessarily, but just in general, when we are seeing these beautiful this bluish reflection on their feathers the sunlight. ⁓ are really beautiful birds they do fly in groups ⁓ which I how they are named in English language when they are together because again I do not like that they are associated to violence when they fly in groups ⁓ have a sense of family just like people have ⁓ is a sense of community and there is this connection that they have with each other ⁓ not just this group of birds just flying together and they do not know each other they actually do know each other and these bonds and these connections are as strong as the ones that we as humans we have with friends and family. When you stop for a moment appreciate that ⁓ it outstanding ⁓ how we just undermine ⁓ other that ⁓ do look like us. ⁓ Crows particular, are really deserving of ⁓ our and also admiration because ⁓ in ways they are feathery beings around us that are constantly observing what we're doing. They are learning from what we are doing and they are actually able to replicate some of those tasks in order to achieve what they need to do in order to survive, to eat and to fight shelter. It's incredible. Next time that you see a anywhere where you are especially in the winter time when they are quite visible because most of the trees have lost their leaves and you can see them gathered in the tree branches that are bare they're more visible then every time that you see them stop for a moment and just appreciate and admire their intelligence not only their beauty not only the fact that they are sentient being cohabitating this world with us but also to admire how amazing it is that they do not have arms they do not have the same body that we do and yet they are able to accomplish quite a few of the tasks that we do ourselves it's incredible ⁓ may give you another tip. ⁓ you are in fact admiring them ⁓ you send them a telepathic message of love, ⁓ guarantee you they will notice that ⁓ will remember you ⁓ being a loving human that passed by ⁓ gave them a gift of love. ⁓ know that. They feel it. ⁓ pretty sure they can see it. ⁓ importantly you will know that they know you and you can establish a relationship with them in that moment. it's a way of saying hey I'm inviting you to come and be my annual companion inside my house they like to be in nature they like to be outside they like to be in groups obviously it's not a good idea to have them inside the house and restrain their freedom it's not that kind of relationship I'm talking about but it's a relationship of just like when you see a friend ⁓ street and you say hi how's it going and the other friend responds and there is this exchange with smiles and love and you just go on your different your different paths for the day you can actually have the same with a crow they are that smart they will know who you are the next time that you pass by and they will know that that was you that sent them love and they will feel that love every time they see you So isn't that magical to realize that we can establish that kind of connection and establish a relationship with animals around us? it doesn't have to be ⁓ animal that lives in our house. ⁓ doesn't. ⁓ can be all the animals that we encounter ⁓ ⁓ cross our path every day. ⁓ can be that magical. And ⁓ we pay attention... ⁓ and if we are listening from the heart, they may give us messages as well. We may even have a hint. something in particular when we have an encounter with a crow. subtle ⁓ little nudges we feel are messages that are being delivered. I'm not going to tell you one particular message because every time that I encounter birds there is different things that will be... to have a little bit of curiosity and practice this and see what kind of information over time you are able to receive from this beautiful, incredibly intelligent animals that surround us that we call crows. They are beautiful. They are deserving of our respect, obviously deserving of our love and Why not? Perhaps our friendship? Because just like us, they have the right to be in this world and make the most of their lives and thrive and fly and be free and happy. Next time that you encounter a crow, just keep that in mind and always look out for their safety, for their protection. and whatever you can do to make your life easier, do. They are our fellow creatures here in this world. ⁓ messages. you They sign be kind to all beings ⁓ this planet ⁓ especially ⁓ to next week. Thank you for listening. if you love this podcast, ⁓ you would like to listen to more stories, ⁓ tuned every week that we have an episode about a different kind of animal. And if you would like to learn more about connecting with the animals, ⁓ out my book. ⁓ called The Path to Unconditional Love. you can find them everywhere online of your choice. ⁓ If would like to ⁓ support...
