Dr. Dean Alley PhD: Alright, Chaplain Dean Alley here. I had a moment. Hope you guys are doing well. I had a moment as my day ended. and had an I look a little tree got me. I guess I gotta pay attention where I walk. Anyways, I hope you're doing well. I'm excited to bring this message of Jap Genesis twenty five. I hope you're enjoying the Verse by verse. Sorry, gotta make room. Verse by verse through Genesis. And we're already at chapter twenty five. Big chapter. Huge chapter. Get excited. It's the old testament, it's the Torah. All right. So we need to talk about a couple things. Again, I hope you're doing well. I have some people that we're praying for and may Lord the Lord hear our prayer. Some people in some serious positions right now. But Pray to our faithful God, we pray to our Jesus. And he says this in he says it in Matthew, with man it's impossible, but with God it is possible. So as much as we look at things and go, whoa, there's no hope, God could do anything, folks. And I have seen things. Now, we cave caveat. Does God answer all my questions, all my prayers? No. But at least I got a chance. At least I got a little hope, opposed to somebody that doesn't believe in God. So there is no hope. But at least I have hope that he'll answer those. He hears them because he says it. He hears the prayers of a righteous person. So anyways, couple people on my mind. I don't want to name They watch this, they'll know who I'm talking about. But I pray for you and your families. And if there's anything I can do, please, please let me know. I know it's a tough time right now. Okay, always heavy to start that way, isn't it? All right, let's just talk about a few. You know how I love the context. Because if you don't know who's being talked to, what are they being talked about, why are they being talked to? How does that fold? What does that mean to me? If you don't have all of that, and you just read the verse, you're lost. So I I'd love to put some context in. So Abraham, he is going to take in this chapter Ketra after Sir Sarah has six more sons. We see that it's Admidian. So he receives the gifts and he sent East Isaac, he's gonna inherit the first first. Parts of the verse, he's going to inherit everything that Abraham Abraham had. Abraham was a wealthy man. He lived to be 175. We should see this in the scripture. He was buried at with Sarah at Melchapel, Pekalah, Micah, by Isaac and Ishmael. God blesses Isaac. In verses 7 through 11. This is a short verse, short short chapter, only 18, but there's a packful things here we need to unpack. so Isaac gets the blessing in 7 through 11. Ishmael's 12 princesses are are fulfilled with the promise to Hagar. We see that in verse 12 through 18. Isaac marries. at 40, he marries, and he waits 20 years and The twins struggle in the womb. We're gonna learn about two great nations, Esau and Jacob. And the elder shall serve the younger. We'll see this in verse twenty three. Am I reading that right? yeah, it was thirty four verses. I said eighteen. I don't know why I said that. anyways, so the elder will serve the younger. We'll unpack that. In verse twenty-three, we learn about Esau being the red, comma, hairy hunter. We're gonna talk about that a little bit. We're going to talk about how Jacob Jacob or excuse me Isaac okay he was loved by Isaac, Jacob the plain twin tent dweller by Rebecca. So Esau, he's gonna shut sell his birthrights for lentil stew and have some despised thoughts behind that. And that's in 19 through 34. And we're gonna talk about that. And why that is important. So stick around. I hope it's a blessing. So let's talk about patriarch patriarchal, meaning the fathers of 2000 to 1900 BC. Abraham is 175. It's a hundred years after he gets and enters into Canaan. Isaac is now sixty. See how time flies? You know, you hear that w with w with a with a thousand years is a day to a day to us is a thousand years to God. That's an idiom. I don't think that's actual, but it's more of an idiom, or a saying or just a Point being made. Isaac's at sixty, he has twins that birth, and then Ketra's line produces the Midianites and related Arabian tribes, and then Ishmael has the twelve sons become princes of Havilah to share to sheer sheer sheer. I'm trying to use my pronunciation. Pronouncing some of the the the vernacular in the Hebrew. the birthright is included, it's a double inheritance, and the family headship is priesthood. So being named the patriarch of the family is a big honor. the Abrahamic we learned that the Abrahamic line, land seed and messiah, is all gonna come through that. And we know that Esau named Edom, which means what? Red. Alright, so the covenant promises a couple things here. I am not gonna cover the well, I could do the doctoral. Doctoral is the covenant is the promise that continues through Isaac, not Keterah, the sons of Ishmael. That was his mom. And Sovereign election of Jacob and Esau before birth, not of works, but of him that is calleth. And that's in Romans 9. We see that nine. Birthright was spiritual as well as mini material. Let me hold I want you to hold on to that because I'm coming back to it. I'm gonna come right back to it. Esau's type was a natural man, and Israel is after the flesh. Jacob, though flawed, He desires the promise. Abraham's death is fulfilled in Genesis fifteen, fifteen. And God blesses the next generation. So Israel has always been blessed. I would say from an inspirational standpoint or context would be Abraham finishes at a good old good good old age. he gathered to his people. God kept his word across the generations and the patriarchs is is gone. Rebecca is inquires of the Lord in the barren and the stri strife. And the younger is chosen in contrary to the custom. Custom normally is the firstborn is the one that catches the rights. But we're going to come back to that. That's important. So God's purpose is independent and it's a parental per preference. He's gonna prepare, he's gonna prefer something, and I'm gonna tell you why. and then he's gonna, or is he gonna look at it from a human merit? But we're gonna talk about that. We know that in the womb there was struggles. This pictures two nations that are struggling right now in that moon. Immediately, or the appetite is the stew versus internal inheritance. So if we look at this from a spiritual standpoint, the immediate stew was going to fulfill him, but the long term eternal is live is lost. And that's kind of the the the the thinking here. And Jacob's values What Esau despises and both act in the flesh, yet the promise holds. So what Isaac excuse me, what Esau despises, Jacob doesn't. It's complete different. And so that's kind of the thought I I had there. So let's just read the scripture. I'll read through and then we'll come back to it and we'll talk about some things. And and remember Ketra was a contraband, so I'm gonna start out with Then again Abraham took a wife and her name was Ketra. She was a concubine. That went on in creating large families, and she bare him Zimra and Jok Jokins. Midian Medan and Midin Medin Ishbak and Shuak and Jokan begat Sheba and Didan and the sons of Didan were Ashiram and Lakashim and Lahomin and the sons of Midian, Epha, and Ephra and Hanak and Abidath, Ilada, all these were the children of Ketra that she bore. Sorry if my Hebrews a little off. And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac, but unto his sons of the concubines which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts and sent them away from Isaac his son. So this suggests that I'm talking about Ketra here, that she was alive when Sarah was living. So Saranu just kind of gives us that sense. And many of the names listed here are identified in these these names that I just listed, folks, those are Arab tribes. That's that that lineage of Arab Arabs. Alright, so of those tribes, fulfilling what? God's promise. He said he was gonna do that. Make a great he was gonna be a he would have great nations. And fulfilling God's promise to Abraham that he would be the father of what? Many nations. That's that's key. And He was fulfilling that. And the fact that Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac indicates that Isaac was the principal heir, cast out the bondman and her son, Ishmael. Isaac was the principal heir and cast this woman and her son out, for the son of a bondsman shall not be the heir with my son. Even with Isaac, so only if they had legally adopted the sons and the concubines by pronouncing my child or my son, my child, would would they inherit the earth I mean the wealth. And Abraham was gathered to his people, which interpreted a concubine or a euphism to death basically gathering. that's what happens when people getting ready to change locations. People gather. A reference to the multiple burials or as the majority of the commentators will assert that it references to the immortality a witness of life after death. Going on, finishing up six. So while he yet lived, Eastwood the east of the country, east is a big deal. you hear it all the time. Death and burial of Abraham. So in verse seven it says And these are the days of the years of Abraham which he lived a hundred and three score and fifteen days Abraham gave up the ghost and died in the good old age of an old man and full of years and was gathered to his people. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave. Of Melchaba Mechalah. You gotta get the guttural sound, Mechalah. In the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Manre. The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth or Hech there was Abraham buried and his son Isara was too. And it came to pass after the death of Abraham that God blessed his son Isaac, and Isaac dwelt there in the land of Laharoi. Verse twelve. Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son who whom Isaac, the Egyptian, you remember she was an Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid at the time. We we covered that story, remember? Handmaid that beared unto Abraham, and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by the names of their generations, the firstborn of Ishmael. Nehaboth, Kedah, Abadil, Milsham, and Mishmah Dumah. And Mishai and Tima Kedah Neprish Keradaba and these are the sons of Ishmael. And there and these are the names by their towns and by their castles, twelve princes according to their nations. We're talking about Abraham. We're talking about the Abraham, the nations of the Arabs. Arab. Sho a short for A Abraham. Alright. Hopefully I don't have any more Hebrew words. Alright, so And these are the years and lives of Ishmael. A hundred and thirty-seven, and he gave up the ghost. So we know Ishmael, he was a hundred and thirty-seven, he died. And he gave unto his people, he gathered his people. So we do that today, right? Somebody that's close to death. and having dwelt in Havalah, Hala, and Shura, that is Egypt, and thou goest to towards Assyria, which is north, and he died in the presence of all his brethren. So this was those were the descendants of Ish of Ishmael. And the birth of Esau and Jacob. So verse nineteen, and these are the generations of Isaac Haisach. Iac, I don't know if I can say it right. Abraham's son. Abraham begat Isaac. And Isaac was forty when he took Rebekah. Remember we had that story earlier. When he took Rebecca's wife, and the daughter of Bethel, the Sarion, from Pandaramia, and the sister of Laban, the Sarion. A lot of different ethnics there. And Isaac entreated her, we think of entreating is pleaded with her, the Lord for his wife, because he had she he that she was barren, and the Lord was entreating him, and Rebecca, his wife, she did conceive. So God heard that prayer. Why is it so important to talk about you know the Torah, the first five books of the Bible? the old testament because these are these are foundational for today and they only transform into the new testament but it's important these stories come alive when you really spend some time looking at it and realizing the magnitude of of this and the children struggled so she Rebecca conceives and their children struggled together with her and she said it If it be so, why am I thus? Or why am I like this? She couldn't understand that. if it be well, why am I this way? And she went to inquire of the Lord. She's gonna go pray. And the Lord had said unto her, Two nations are in your in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from the thy bowels, from your your body. And the one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve the younger. And when her days were to be delivered, were fulfilled, behold there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red all over like a hairy garment, and they called his name Esau. Meaning red. I'll elaborate a little bit in a in a few minutes on that and how important that is. But Esau means Harry. but He was red when he came out, but he was hairy, okay? All right, and and after that his brother out and his hand took hold of Esau's heel and his name was called Jacob and Isaac was three score when she bare the son bare them. So his name in Jacob and Isaac was 60 basically when she beared them. And the boys grew up, and Esau, the hairy one, was a cunning. He was cunning. He was a great, skillful, he was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. Jacob was kind of a kind of a plain man. He was kind of one that would take after is a mile, he kind of literally. He would be, I guess the word I would use is mild. Jacob was mild, Esau was skillful. And then we see the dwelling in the tents. And Isaac loved Esau because he did eat of his venison, but Rebecca loved Jacob. So the dad likes. The hairy man and Rebecca, she she favors Jacob. And Jacob and Jacob sawed pottage. Okay, so we're gonna get a sense here when I I talk about he cook he's cooking basically. Why is he cooking? We're going answer that question. And Esau came out from the field, and there was a faint. He was feeling faint. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the same red pottage, for I am faint, therefore, because I'm faint, was his name called Edom. Okay, so he was red Edom Harry. Alright, so and Jacob said, Sell me thy birthright today. Esau said, Behold, I am at a point of to die. And the birth and what profit shall the birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear me to this day. Swear to me. And he sold his jer his birthrights to Jacob, then Jacob gave Esau bread, and then he gave him the pottage or the stew and the of lentils, and then he did eat and drink, and rose up and went his way. Thus, or this Esau despised his birthrights. Okay. A lot of to unpack here. I'm not gonna kinda talk. Let me just give you a sense here. So this gives the account of the sons of Ishmael. 12 through 18, the descent descendants. We just we just did that. he's been a subject of particular divine promise. He was promised, made to Hagar. Remember that promise he made she God made and Abraham. These were fulfilled with the descendants, and it was noted of the of the Abrahamic kingdoms and the preceding. So what God promised Hagar and what God promised Abraham has been fulfilled. So the Sarion of Panaer, the sister of Laban, the Syrian, the word Sarion is translated best as Aramean, and does not refer to the Syrian of which Damascus in the capital. It was called Mesopotabia. You see that in we can go back to twenty four. And lay north and east of Palestine. Its chief city was Haran or Haran, and the town parent and the children struggle together within her womb. The struggle was typical of the years to follow. We're gonna find that they're gonna be a struggle even today. They're struggl they're still struggling today. And I'm gonna tell you why. The Arabs are wrong or misguided, let me say that. I don't wanna put anything in anybody's mouth here. So so they contended they will contend even up to today. The elder shall serve the younger, which was a startling rev revelation because normally the firstborn got a double portion. They were the heirs of their father's estate. So this is a profet this is profound in this this situation. It's a it's a revelation startling because it's contrary to any of the ancient Near East Standards of what we learn from near East City customs. The forms that base under the understanding of the New Testament application of the term firstborn to Lord Jesus Christ. We find that we use firstborn where Jesus Christ, when he was born. He's the firstborn, remember? And Firstborn, the Lord Jesus Christ refers to a rank, not the origin. Normally the eldest son was given that proven would would get the the provincial or would get the all the treatment, the positive treatments from being the heir. He assumed more responsibility, and the reward and honor was given in two share, remember, double portion. and the family inheritance, instead of a single reward, with an honor given to share to his younger brothers, received. Occasionally the elder fell out of favor and was replaced by the younger brother. We're gonna notice that Jacob replaced Esau. Ephraim replaced Man Manasseh. Joseph replaced Reuben. I remember what Reuben did. He was a firstborn, but e e violated e violated is Customs by sleeping with his father's concubine. So he lost his b birthright. He was I love the story. He says he was unstable as water. He says unstable as what you ever hold b thing of water and it's all over the place? That's Reuben. All right, and Solomon replaced Adonijah in kings, and the younger began the firstborn, that is, attained the first rank. The term applied is a sense of the nation of Israel. Okay? We're gonna cover I'm gonna come right back to this. And God considered it's sacred, and he Made it common, being del totally concerned with the temporary and the material needs, he gave up his priority to his rights. Remember, I said in a spiritual sense, he wanted the now. We think about today, what do we want now? We don't think of the long term, the long game of eternal life. This is the the analogy or the curriculum of learning through this. And when we look at What God considered sacred and he made it common. So God God was making this position a sacred position, and what did he do? Esau was making just was nothing, it was just common. Being totally concerned with its temporary. So he gave his rights over to the firstborn, his responsibilities of heir, the blessings of Abraham's covenant. So he doesn't get that blessing that we find that Isaac will get. Every Christian, and that's Hopefully you must beware lest he count the unimportance of what God considers sacred. Sacred and holy, right? That's the important thing. We are to be sacred, for I am holy. Be ye holy. That's what we're told. All right. I'm gonna give some points here. Yeah and you have some high levels here. Deeper than I thought. Okay, so let's see some highlights. So in the beginning, we learned that Abraham, Abraham and his pilgrim, and then he dies, right? The triumph of faith. We see this account, God fulfills his promise to Abraham that he would be a father of many nations. We learn also, picking up at five, that the division of Abraham's estate in strict protection of Isaac and the promised seed. That seed, that lineage is where Christ will come from. And it was under strict protection. So Abraham gave all to Isaac but gave gifts to his sons. He just gave him gifts. He couldn't give what Couldn't give all of the blessings. Abraham sent his his children away, basically eastward, to the east country. Abraham the death of Abraham, I know he died, fulfills all these things. Ishmael's sons, Ishmael and Isaac reconciled and planned the funeral together, so they must have been getting along. He buried his dear wife. So we know that Abraham, Sarah dies first, and then Abraham. God fulfills his promise with Abraham that he would bless Abraham with two sons. And that was Ishmael and Isaac. God blesses Isaac. As we saw, God blesses Ishmael. So it's not like he didn't bless him, and he was a great, he was a father of great nations as well. And he gathered his people and they joined the believers in eternity. So this was just an act of you know gathering your family, gathering your relatives and friends, and everybody, as he's getting ready to depart. So in nineteen We he talks about the marriage was the foundation of the family, right? He's he's giving us that foundation. Isaac marries what? Or who? Rebecca. These are being retold for our edification. They're being retold to understand the marriage and the sacred and and all these things. There Isaac, he was married to Rebecca for what, 40 years? And then the prayer was significant of the family life. And When Rebecca was childless, what did she do? She went to her Lord and Savior or Yahweh or Jehovah in the Old Testament and prayed for a child. God blessed her, was showered upon her family, and chose and then basically God chose the family to give rise to the two nations, and God chose the younger son over the older son to teach man. That God is merciful and gracious and sovereign. So God is the one who determines the blessings that we have. God confirmed his blessings with the twins. They were healthy. Two healthy boys. Big deal in the Middle East to have boys. Were born Rebecca and Isaac. Healthy two. Okay, so two boys to Rebecca and Isaac. So Esau was red and unusually he was hairy. And he was rugged and sturdy in appearance. So he was definitely the buff. And then we learn that Jacob, he was born holding the heel, which would symbolize it's a symbol of being replaced. He's gonna replace Esau. That's he's grabbing his leg when he's coming out is a symbol of him replacing Esau. That's the first choice, and God promises through his through Abraham. Then we see the carnal behavior of the parents. So and the two boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter hunter, and the carnal behavior of the parents. Esau was a sports minded, irresponsible, not caring for the family affairs. That's important. Keep that in mind. Jacob was mature and he was looking after his family affairs. The parents were irresponsible and carnal, showing favoritism, so they were not. in the good gracious I would say. The carnal behavior of Esau and Jacob. Esau's physical verse Jacob's spiritual hunger. So we see Esau desired food. Esau desired to confirm his name. Jacob is the spiritual hunger, desired the birthright. Esau's physical and Jacob's spiritual commitment. So Esau car was after the cor carnal things, just like today, people are after the carnal thing. Jacob was was after the spiritual things. He coveted to be much he demanded as an oath. Esau committed to the physical, the carnal, to the flesh, and Esau spiritually interference, and Esau despised his birthright. Well, to we just read Why? Esau lost his birthright. Number one, he was he was carnal. He was not spiritual. He was not grateful. Do we ever get to a point where we're not grateful? So let's just talk about how we get the Abraham pagan. He calls out the Hebrew Declaration. The word splits God's people and everyone else. So Isaac, the firstborn, Hebrew, Ishmael, same father, different mother, still cut off by a declaration. Jacob and his Esau, same parents and twins, nearly identical DNA. The only difference was what? Spiritual. What does God want? He wants your heart. He wants you to seek him and to love him. Jacob kept as a Hebrew, Esau was stripped. God declares Jacob. as the one that will lead the Hebrew nation. So from Jacob's son onward, the Hebrew law of birth, there was no more sibling exclusions. What does that mean? So there's a physical rendering, and there's a spiritual rendering. And God, being sovereign, made a spiritual decision to choose Jacob. So Let me give you something so so Sierra which or Sikare is the same as hairy. So Mount Sear is a hairy mountain. Esau's later land. So think about what I just said. Mount Seir is a hairy mountain. And Esau later lands and he stays in that area. Jacob grasped the heel, trying to prevent the first word. So he was trying to keep him from going out first. Edom, when you think of Edom and the red, the complexity and the lentil stew. Edomites, Esau's line, ongoing enemy of Israel, still today, includes the last days. They'll fight, they'll fight right up to the last days. one thing you need to understand: I believe Sarah had passed away and they were in mourning. So they were they were mourning, and the culture or custom was the family was not supposed to cook or do anything, but a son. could and that's what he was doing. He's taken care of his family. He was cooking for everybody. And they were mourning their time was with the loss, I think you know, maybe it was Abraham. But The problem was Esau didn't care. It didn't bother him. It wasn't a big deal to him. The father of nations, Abraham, you know, and So he was cooking, he was cooking, providing for his family because he put first. Esau's out hunting, doing his fun he having fun, doing his thing, living it up, like he always does, like we do today in the flesh. So Rivka or his Ref but it's Rebecca. It's called Reb Rebecca. Rebecca is Rebecca in Hebrew. So Isaac and the boys okay, so Rebecca tells, or Rebecca tells the boys, or told Isaac, I'm sorry, and the boys God's decree before they grew up. So they knew what was going on. The stew is a deal that is not surprised election. It is two sons who already knew and Lack the faith to rest in. Isaac favored Esau Esau and Yeah, so they already knew in the faith though e so Isaac favored E Esau that's and and Rebecca favored Jacob and that was kind of a Jacob the quiet tens. That's it was a sin. It wasn't it wasn't because God was choosing Jacob and they both were split on that and they weren't in the same camp. so Jacob nicknamed Quiet Quiet Tense. So the father wanted the firstborn and he preferred the firstborn. But what did God do? He overrode both Abraham and Ishmael, Isaac, and Esau with a declaration. Catch that? So when it comes down to the birthright, Jacob, whose cooks, Esau's famished, he says something, he says, I'm about to die. What good is my birthright? The oath given, the scripture verdict, Esau despised his birthright. He wanted honor and wealth, not the burden of the covenant. Jacob tried to seize what God had already assigned. He didn't care. I mean he even used the idiom, I'm about to die. What does it matter? Well their father, or Abraham was dying and they were in mourning. It was kind of like he was kind of not making it taking it seriously, so that was a big deal. And from Hebreatic custom or circumstances, which we sometimes can miss, Jacob cooking is unusual, right? Because the women usually do that. the context is in mourning. And Abraham had just died. I was saying Sarah, but Abraham had died. Lentil stew and eggs equal a meal of mourning. So eggs and lentil is a meal of mourning. That is their that is the culture. in that time frame, rounds the foods and pictures the cycle of life and generations. Immediately the family does not cook during the seven days of sitting in Shivia or Shia. Shavia Shia, which is mourning. A grandchild can, that's what I was saying earlier. Not a s not a not a son, but a grandchild can cook. Esau went hunting and never mo mourned the way he should have. And And and instead of staying mourning and comforting Isaac, his dad, I'm about to dive. That's graveyard talk, folks. It's it's it's the wrong time frame. I'm gonna give you a good a good laugh. We were flying once, the whole family. We're getting ready to land into Dallas Fort Worth. My youngest child, as the we're getting we're we're coming down and that you can hear the propulsions and everything reversing and everything, and my Youngest daughter screams and yells out, We're all gonna die. That's graveyard talk. You don't say that on a plane that's getting ready to land with everybody can hear you. So it's kind of the wrong timing for that. So I'll give you that example. So only two men in scripture that are labeled hunters. That was N Nimrod and Esau. Tai Syed is the word for hunter. Nimrod and then negative killer is. For the love of killing. So the negative part of that is killing for the love of kidding killing. Jacob, a quiet man dwelling in the tents. Rashi, or one of the sages, would say, righteousness, what am I here to accomplish? Wicked says, Let's eat and drink and worry about that tomorrow. That's that's that's good good advice there. All right, so the election which precedes the work of Romans 9, the birthright, the double portion, a clan rule, the priestly headship headship, Abrahamic promise in the seed, the land and messiah, the physical firstborn can be set aside, right? That's what God did. Took Esau and He set him aside. The spiritual identity by Yahweh. W his word. So he spoke that Jacob would be younger will be taken over the the the old eldest basically so not by DNA alone so that's important. So God has now set that complex you don't have to be born in that lineage to have a relationship with God. It can be spiritual. History is circular. That lint egg Is kind of the the whole circle there. Why I'm telling you that the portance of the spiritual is because when I say that we are as Christians, as Paul says, we're grafted into Abraham's seed from a spiritual standpoint. Okay, you don't have to be Hebrew or or you don't have to be from the Middle East. God set a ro set that away. He moved that away and he said, Went right past all of the customs and said, No, this is the deal. Jacob is going to be the leader of this great nation of Israel. So God divides and chooses. That's the point. And then he promises on the line, and then he names it. Feelings, favoritism, a teenage bitterness, a People that fight all the time, these people, not the stained figured glasses, the holy can be treated as common when the appetite resent is ruled. So if you're resenting things, you're resenting and you're bitter in things, that stained glass figure there. It's something you want to get right with God. And he's talking about how God divides and chooses and he makes his promises and he stays with it. So it's important to keep that in mind. So from a practical standpoint, don't despise the covenant's duty for the immediate appetite. Okay? So sometimes we see things that we want it now, when we should be waiting and thinking long game. Easier said than done if you're young. You're older, you've got a little more you got a little bit more patience. Maybe not. So we tell children we tell the children God's word early. We teach We are hiding it is not kindness. So if you are not telling your kids, as we know it says in the in in the first Bible, tell your kids when they wake up, when they stand up, when you're with them all the time, tell them about God. Teach them when they're young. You're not being kind to them by holding it back. Favoritism will wound a situation. Mourn with a family instead of escaping to what you enjoy. Sometimes you have to mourn. It's appointing for one man to die. And it it it is something that I don't control, and God controls. And we wish things didn't happen, but things do happen What's what's the massive? Believe on Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and put your faith, hope, and trust into God and Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. And come before Him and turn the way you live today and be Christli. Be ye holy. Why? Because I'm holy. So we gotta ask sometimes, what am I here to accomplish? I I say that all the time, what am I here for? It's not to gather things a house, boat, all these things. No. No, no, no, no. We're not here for that. It's not how much you can get before you die, folks. And I know a lot of people are doing that right now. And they're saying, I'm living my best life. I got my best life. Go out there and live your best life. If you watch a commercial and they and they're showing you a Mercedes or something, and then you see at the end, you deserve it. You need to go get this Mercedes. You deserve it. Go get it. Well, I'm just gonna go do it before I die. You gotta trust in the declaration already given rather than the scheming or the cynical of discarding it. You've got to put God first, our Saviour first, believe on him. and live for him. And live for him in a great way. So as I wrap up here in coming for a landing, folks, this is chapter twenty five, it's big. What's so big about it? Doesn't mean you have to be born. into a covenant of being the firstborn to get all of the rewards. God deep selects right through that and chooses who he wants to choose from a spiritual standpoint because he looks on the heart. Genesis 25 talks about what he's doing in the New Testament. He wants your heart. Folks, I hope this was a blessing for you. I hope it wasn't too painful. Painful for me. And I hope you have a good rest of the day. If you have any questions, please reach out. I love you. God bless.
