Dr. Dean Alley PhD: All right, Chaplain Dean Alley here. I had a moment. So I hope you're doing well. It's Monday. Congratulations. It's in the afternoon, later, late afternoon. So I hope I hope you're doing okay. I hope your weekend was a good one. it's always good, I think, anytime you get any downtime and put some priorities in place. But so today in chapter 10 of Genesis, and if you remember. We did chapter nine nine last excuse me, last last time we did our podcast or so the podcast talked about chapter nine. And you know, it it was it was a basically talking about the covenant, the rainbow. We talked about the terms of the covenant, we talked about many things, and we talked about the commands, we talked about it was a very, very Message from God, a command from God, a promise from God, all of these things were noted in our Bible study. These are things that you would break out and you would do a study on and make sure that you're understanding exactly what it's saying, you know, and For instance, I'll just use chapter 9, verse 1. And it says, And God blessed who? Who did he bless? He blessed Noah and his sons. And he said, What is this? This what is this set up? This sets up a message. And he said unto them, Be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth. Okay. So that's an example of a message. How do you know God taught that God talked to these guys in this message from God? Those are how you can you can deter. Now Well, see this the old testament, the gospels, they are written for us to get the precepts, learnings, devotions, the meanings behind it, the important thing. It was not written to us. Paul's letters were written to us, and it was written to the Gentile and to the church. But that doesn't dispel the whole Bible. The whole Bible is profitable. Remember what he says? Profitable for correction. And It's important that we read the Bible. We don't want to be just a a one sided view of the Bible and say, Okay, that's all I believe. That well, that's not not the case. You have to believe the whole counsel of God. You have to believe what God put in this book for He wanted us to see it and He wanted us to know about it and teach it and show people. Now, granted there's differences between how we'd interpret Peter's gospel and and Paul's gospel, but at the end of the day, it's still one gospel. Okay. The message at that time was going to the Israels and in in in the gospels, and the message to the Gentiles, us, and to the church that leads up to today was from Paul. And that's the ones that were written to you. So it's always important to understand context and understand how this all flows together, you know, as far as salvation. You hear me always say first Corinthians fifteen one through four is the clearest examples. But don't forget Romans Road. Romans three twenty three for all of sin and come short to the glory of God or Romans six twenty-three and then ten ten five and then I mean I'm sorry, five eight, but God commendeth his love towards us and yet will he died. So I've I kind of jump around on the Romans road a little bit, but they are all profitable and whether you were saved in the Romans road or you were saved through first Corinthians fifteen, the key is being saved and having that there. Okay, so this study, I got into it and I was breaking it down and I was like, wow. You know how you get into the lineage and you talk about you know, such and such, begat such and such, had a son and all these stuff. You got a treat today because I broke every last one of them down and there was a lot. So to make it easy for ya. So let's just read chapter ten. and then talk about a couple things. And let's kind of go through it. I remember when I was first starting out in a job in the aeronautical field there or the aviation field, I remember had an electrical engineer, really good guy, his name Peter Beck. he hands me a piece of paper and I looked at it and I said, What's this? He said, This is a number to go to get glasses. And I I said to him, I said, and this was twenty years ago, I don't need glass I don't wear glasses. He goes, You will. Well guess what? He was right. Okay, so starting off in chapter ten, the generations of Noah's son. What's going to be important here is I'm gonna talk about his sons, which we know are no well, we know Noah's a dad, but we know Shem, Ham, and Jap Japheth. But what I wanna do from that is talk about their sons and then find out how they became the table of nations and where they went in the world. So, So it's important that I'm I I'm able to show you that and it's easier to show you and I'll share a screen when I get ready, but it really gives you kind of a a a snapshot of exactly what and where they went in the scheme of things with You know, this message and and and where we're at here. So and it starts off with now these are the generation, the generations, which is basically he's talking about the family history, essentially. Okay, so he says, these are the generations of Noah, Shem, and Ham. Remember what we talked about? Noah, Shem, and Ham and Japheth. So Noah's the dad. Shem is where the lineage of Christ comes through. And then we we learned last chapter that Ham was the bad guy, and then Japheth was another decent son, and it was over a parental covering of their father, seeing them naked. some would say there could have been more things there, but for the most part, that's all we're told. It's enough to say that he ashamed the family. So he became the servant to his brothers. And he was cursed. And you remember what the curse was? that the land that he goes to will be cursed. And you know that because it starts in Palestine. That's where the land is, and there was a fight, you know, for those lands. But anyway, so let's continue. So and unto them the sons were born after the flood. So this is post flood. The sons of Japheth, and I'm gonna read them. I may Pronounce them wrong, but I'll do the best I can and stay with me. So the sons of Japheth, he's a decent guy. go his he has a son, Gomer, and Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, and Meshak, and Tyrus. What I find interesting, and that's I'm not done, but they talk nothing but sons. They talk about the men. They took because that's the one that carries on the gene and the And carries on the lineage of their fathers, their father's father. And that's the reason why you don't see these people doing a listing all the daughters they had. They had plenty in between. So we go on to chapter three, and he says, in the sons of Gomer. So now we we we we said, This is the sons of Japheth, the very firstborn was Gomer, right? The firstborn typically gets a double portion of what the father's estate is. And he's the one that passes the torch, if you will. So now his son Gomer is having children, and he had what he had Ashkenaz and Ripeth, Togar Togarmouth, and the sons of Javan, Elishia, and Tarshnith, Kidam, and Dodam. But these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their land. every one of them in his tongue after the family in the nations. So to slow it down a little bit here, let me give you a view here so we know I don't blast you all over the place. Let me give you I'm hoping you could see that. I'm gonna blast that wide. I'm hoping you can see it, but I'm gonna bring it into all right. So Gomer, here he is, right here. So Gomer, we're looking at the table of nations here, and Gomer is Cell Celtic people, Scottish, Welsh, Irish. Would you say that that would be probably Britain, UK? I would say so. So the now remember these are the what do they call it? The progenities, these are the beginnings of those nations. So Gomer would be the g beginning of the nations that came from Japeth. The J's right there. Now I I built this map. Using the Bible. I pulled the information from the Bible and I built this map. This I did the Bible didn't have a map like this. This is one that I was able to produce. But it's important to point that out because this gives you a kind of an understanding. Like, you know, here's here's Atlantic Ocean. Now let's look here, and then you got Tarshius, which we talked about. That's a Japheth son, that's Spain. So Spain began with the son of Japheth. His son was Tarshus. And then they had families, you know, long, deeper, deeper families after that. So then you come over here, Germany, Tyrus. Tyrus was Japheth from the descendant, the progenitor, the start of this nation was Tyrus. And he was from Japheth, the son of Noah. Dodam. Which is another one, which I didn't see where it listed, but that's Italy. and I didn't see it listed here, but they list Italy as Javon. They gave Javon Italy. here's the boot. You remember the boot we have that we look at right here? I I think that's that's Dodam, I think is what that is. and then I think this over here is the Greek stuff was Javen. So you had the Greeks and the Romans. So here we go. Japeth again. So Japheth had Alicia. So he's over in in in you got Libya, you got Egypt, you got Ethiopia, which is Africa. I don't know exactly that country, but we'll just say that that is let's see if Alicia shows up here. Alicia. Yeah, I'm not seeing it. Yeah, I see it. Alicia, I'd have missed it. It's not on my it's not on my list here. Anyways, I don't know that country right off the top of my head. All right, so again, that's a Japheth guy. that's his son. That's his son here. Then you had Kidam, Greeks and Romans. Then you had Javon. Javon was in the Greeks, Romans as well. Then you had Tagen. Tagan was another nation right here. So what is Tagan? So Tyrus is Germany. I don't see it. Unless you see it, I don't see it. All right. So another one. This is just Mediterranean. I would definitely say all Mediterranean here. I would say Turkey. I would say you know, is the Black Sea. I would say for sure that that's Jacob. Then Askipah is another one, and then Tubal, and then Meshach, and then Magog. Which I can tell you that this is Russia. appears in Russia. But Japeth he's all the way over here in the Indies. He's he his his son Media started the Medes, the Indians, the Afghans and the Kurds. And and that's the J then Askbin and Rapieth, Tubul, I mean you're talking these are like Czechoslovakia, this is all these coun Ukraine, all these countries, Russia, all these different areas just north of the Mediterranean area here. This is great Mediterranean right here. So there's a lot of people just in the Japheth side. So let's let's look at let's look read the next one verse six. And the sons of Ham was Cush and Mitzaram, Put and Canaan. And the sons of Cush, Sibin, Ahavilah and Beta, Sabetah, and then Rama and then Sabatakya and sons of Rama, Sheba and Dedin. And Cush, he got Nimrod, Nimr Nimrod, that's gonna be a big one. I'm gonna do a character study. I already have it present. I've already been researching Nimrod. and then that's coming in the future here for you in my Facebook. But he became to be the mighty one and the mighty hunter before the Lord, where wherefore is said that even Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord, he he basically wanted to be a god and he was killing people. but he he he took everything by force. And in the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Arech, Acha, and Kaah and the land of Shinar. And we're gonna see that over here. Here's Nimrod. So let's look at the H's. Let's let me finish up here. And then out of the land when Ashar built in Nineveh, city of Rehoboth, Kalah, Rasha between Nineveh and Kalah in the same great city, Mitzah, Mitzram the begat Laban or Ladim and Anaim and then Lahabim and then Nahapum and Patharusium Ka Calalusum out of who Philistum and Caliphum and Canaan begat Sidon for the firstborn. And then he goes and Jes and the Jesuits The Amorites and the Gigarites in verse 16, 17 says, and the Hid Hivite, these are lineage, these are the sons that they produced, and Ark and Sinite, and Arvik and Zimat and Hamathi, Hathamite, and afterwards the families of the Canaanites spread abroad in the borders of Canaanite from Sidon or or Zion, Zidon, and as thou comest to the to Gir unto Gaza. So we know they're in Gaza. And thou comest goest to Sodom and Gomorrah, Adama, Zeboim, and Lahasha, and these are the sons of Ham, after their families, their tongues in their current or in their countries and in their nations. These are nations. Remember now, remember what I said up here? These are the table of nations, okay. Descendants from Noah. These are his children and his children's children, his grandsons that are going out there. So what's remember I said the first son is always the one that gets the double portion. So when I said Ham, I said Ham's first son that he talked about was his was son of Cush, right here. This is it right here, Cush. Cush in Ethiopia, Africa. So this is where. So just so you know. This is where you're gonna find you know these these Hebrew people that are descendants in this area. Now when you talk about an Israelite, you talk about somebody that i is Islamic or you talk about different things. I mean, I think Islamic is more of a religion, but typically there were they were Hebrews or they were they were people of those descendants. When we say Israelite and and and we say Jews, we're talking specifically one region. Kind of like like if you say I'm from the I'm from New England, somebody knows right away that you're from that northeast part of well if somebody said hey I'm from Cush, people would know right away in that day he's talking about Ethiopia. He's in Africa. Okay. So let's look at let's look for some H's. So put is the Libyans. in Libyan which would be I'm I'm assuming Lebanon maybe I'm not sure I could be corrected for that. Mizram with the Egyptians, so Egyptians right here, they're the ones that took and enslaved Israel back in the day. Cush, which is the son that gets the double portion. And then you have let's see I don't think I have anything down here. Nope. Okay. Then you have Canaan that's an H Ham So Palestine Palestine, and he and you're gonna find that this is where the sa decidants see all the S's down here, they're gonna come here and God's gonna give them this this region. So when you look at Ham, you come up here and you can see that he's got Nimrod, his H, which that is Babylonia or Babel, which means confused. Then you have his son. So these are his sons, by the way. Babel, Erect, Akaidah, Kalena, Nin Nineveh. Nineveh is going to be over here somewhere but near the Assyrians, which I don't know how Shem got into that, but Nineveh, Re Rehoboth, Iar and Kala and and Rezin, etc. So there's no other H's other than that. So he's pretty much in this region in a little bit of Africa. is Ham. Now remember, he is to serve his older brother. Who's his older brother? We're getting ready to talk about it. That's Shem. Shem is the one that received the double blessing. So we look at Shem and we see he he was his tribe or his lineage started the Assyrians and you say well Chaplain Dean didn't the Assyrians attack Jerusalem? Absolutely. Yes they did. This is I'm talking about this is the start. This is not even the they haven't even formed the Jewish nations. Abraham hasn't even come out yet. This is this is way early. This is chapter ten of Genesis. We haven't talked about how they get into the Babylonians capture and the is you know, the Assyrians and then Alexander and all these different other kings that took over. So excuse me. Elam was the Persians, that's would be modern day what Iran. Lud, I'm not sure exactly, that's in the mountainous region there. Then Aram. Aram here, Syrians, Syrians over here. then you would see one other thing, Japan was over his he is the Indians here. okay, looking for Seth. So Seth had a fax a fax ad, which were Hebrews and Arabs and Babylonians all together, and then Jokatin. Which is the Arabian descent of Alamon Day, Shalepe, Hazar Mahaz, Jireth, Hodaram, Azal, Dakarilah, Obel, Abal Abamail, Sheba or Orfir, Halava, Joab, Tolbit, Oa, Almadad, Hazur, Mavith, Jera, Uzl, and Bizl, Oba and Uzel. And that is all of those guys. So this is kind of the map here what we're looking at. And you know again the little breakout to the left here is Javin Javin Javin we know was Japeth and he took Italy Greece Turkey we know that was Asher so Let's see, where's Asher? Right here. Asher. Asher and Toburg. So that's the that's Turkey, modern day Turkey. And then we have Russia, which is right up here. I told you it was Magog and Tubal. Germany was Tyrus over here. the German people, and then the cultures that shifted from there, different countries and stuff. And then then you had Tyrish okay. United Kingdom was Gomer. Remember we talked about this up here earlier. Spain, Tarish. then we said France is Gomer. Gomer was also part of France. And Egypt was Mizoran and then Li Libya was put, which was Libyans, Cush was Ethiopian, Saudi Arabia was Jokan, Iraq was right here, alphax, and Iran was Midia in Elam and so forth. So folks that is the the breakout. I wanted to show that to you because it's important. I kind of read through what Shem had for the brothers. But just to finish it up, once Shem also the of the father of all of the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth and the elder, he was older than Japheth, and even to him were born these these children. Children of Shem were Elam, and Eshar, Aphaks, Lad, Am, children of Am, Uz, Hul, and Geth, and Mash, and Aphravex, begad Salah. This is just giving you the lineage. So you didn't have a courthouse to go down to and see what the birth certificates that were recorded. They used these names as to understand where they're from and what their lineage is. And the children of Aram, Azam, Hal, and Gath, Gather, Mash, then it says Eber, born to the two sons, named of Peleg, Pegleg. he's actually gonna be something we'll we'll t I don't know if we'll get to him, but he's he's another good character. So I'm doing a couple of character studies on these people. on my morning Facebook, just so you guys get a sense of who they are. and his days were on earth were divided. His brother's name was Jokan, and Jokan begot Alaman and Shaileth, Hazarmarth, Jerah, Hadadaram, Elzel, Dekela, Obal, Emal, Sheba, Orphra, Haleah, or Havla, Joab, all these were the sons of Jokitan. And the dwellings from the Mesha as though unto the Shefar in the Mount of the East. So they were east of this area. And then the sons of Shem after them, their families after their tongue in the lands in the end of their nation. So they all spoke one language, and these are the families of the sons of Noah and his generation, or after their generations, in their nations by These were their nations divided upon earth. So when they talk about the nations, the table of nations, we just talked about it. Again, chapter ten was really about geography. It was all all about the lineage from the son to the oldest son to how many sons they had afterwards and what that looked like for them. And so it's it's so important sometimes. Again, I'm I'm doing a verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and I'm trying to break it out so you get a good understanding of exactly what you kind of get a good start, a good foundation of a start. and We once we get there, and I get through that, I'd like to go and just talk about, you know, it's all about Jesus, themes Jesus, and how this all takes place and how Jesus ties into this from the New Testament to the Old Testament. And you saw me when I talked about in Genesis three fifth three fifteen, talking about the heel will bruise the head of the snake. That is talking about our Savior in chapter three, verses fifteen. And then when it says in the word was and I was where in the beginning. So he was with, he was in the beginning when he was creating as well. So even though we know him as Jehovah, and Lord in all capitals in the Old Testament, we know the New Testament tells us it's Yeshua, Jesus, and it's a change over there from the Aramaic and then some of the Greek there. So important to break that out and talk about it. but I hope that was a blessing to you. I hope that give you some kind of context, I guess, is the word. And I hope it was a blessing.
