Kane: Well, here we go. Here we go. One more time. Everybody's feeling fine. Here we go now. I think that's 98 degrees. Am I crazy? Old school. Yeah. I'm about to say it ain't 90 degrees ⁓ 98 degrees outside, brother. It is not. It is it is hot as hell outside. Yeah. 105 right now, but the high is 111. It's 100 and fuck off. It's 100 and fuck off. Yeah, baby. I ain't down for that. It's too hot. Ain't nothing like the A Z heat, brother. It's nothing like the A Z heat. It's crazy. Did you see that we watched a video yesterday that they're for a while now they've been doing this ⁓ cooling ⁓ for the asphalt. It's like a special spray that they've figured out is like sunscreen for the road. What what about what about cooling the human beings off? Well, 'cause it makes it ten to twelve degrees cooler on the asphalt and since there's asphalt everywhere, ⁓ because we live in a car dependent society. So so so let me ask you this. D did that video have like like what's the success rate on that? ⁓ successful. Now they have two hundred plus miles of it here in Phoenix. Okay. And they're gonna continue to do more. Okay. So I I it ended up working well enough to cool down enough. Now I think the only downside that we'll see is that like that's it'll it's going to continue to get hotter. So that ten or twelve degrees with a point where it doesn't really matter. Yeah, that's it Well like even for today Even ten degrees less than this is still 101. So so I I was gonna say, so if they're cooling that shit down, it's a hundred and eleven. That's gonna be the high. So you mean tell our high would have been one twenty? One twenty one? If we didn't have it. If we didn't have it. Well, no, no, no. No no no. No no. It's still a hundred and eleven. Now to maybe say, ⁓ it's it's ten degrees cooler, but only around the asphalt. Okay. The other thing about everywhere else that doesn't so it doesn't really like make It makes a difference. But we live in this motherfucking desert. So like this is the desert, bro. I I ain't gonna lie though, I'll still well nah because it's been it's been humid and muggy 'cause we've been getting storm after storm after storm. Super humid, yeah. ⁓ you know what I'm saying? Can't wash no cars, can't do nothing, bro, cause it's just it's just another another dust storm. Another dust storm. Yo, no joke. It's like Oprah. You get a dust storm, you get a dust storm, you get a haboo. You get a haboo, you get a fucking car. That's ridiculous. That's what you get. Broken trees, dirty car, can't drive because of low visibility. Dude, ⁓ my gosh. And also it's still hot as fuck. Still hot as fuck. But I want to go swim? No. Nah, I can't do it. Can't do it because the water is, yeah, so you're gonna be cooking in there. ⁓ but I would still take the dry heat though over being somewhere like in the south, somewhere where it's a hundred degrees, but it's also a hundred percent humid humidity too. I don't want that, bro. You just walk around wet. Wet, bro. You gotta take weird. You gotta take yeah, yeah. No, thank you. Yeah, you're walking around moist. No, thank you. But if you are over y somewhere that has high humidity, thank you for listening and watching to the IGK podcast. Hopefully you your towels and shit. Hopefully you your towel so you can dab yourself down while you're listening to us 'cause you're like, I gotta get it in. We're about to heat you up with this next episode. We're about to heat you up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So ⁓ welcome to the IGK podcast. The podcast that marries our two cool professions in fitness and entertainment and delivers them to you anywhere you get your podcast. For your listening or viewing pleasure. My name is Kane. My name is Pat. That's Pat. So, ⁓ this episode today is ⁓ called Scripts and Calorie Dips. Okay. It rhymes. Okay. That's why we're doing it. Okay. They don't correlate at all. They just rhyme. So Yes. Yes. We're going to talk about two different pieces of our profession that we have quite quite a bit of knowledge on. Okay. And I think that this is ⁓ it's a great time for the for us to educate the people. ⁓ on other aspects. Cause when I simplify it in our in our intro, when I'm like, you know, fitness and entertainment, it's that umbrella is huge. Broad, very, very broad. But we have to know everything in our industries. Yeah. Everything about our industries and every meticulous little thing within our industries to be a a great coach or a great actor. Yes. so today, ⁓ being able to speak on some other things that I don't think We ⁓ we haven't spoken on scripts before. We haven't spoken on ⁓ calorie dips is is is fun and playful 'cause it rhymes, but ultimately I w I would love to see your point of view, your thoughts, your expertise on you know, the myths around eating less, eating more. There's a lot of function. You we talked a little bit last time or a different episode about, you know, the you know, it's all starting in the kitchen, like how much that matters and yeah, so ⁓ That was the intro into now our ⁓ say let's fuck it. Okay, okay. Let me let me let me let me let me Let me let me ask this first question to you. We're gonna get started. I'm with it, man. Let's do it. ⁓ so ⁓ okay. Yo I'm gonna go right in the fucking Yeah, trash can make you have to throw up for this bitch. So my question to you is what is a common myth about food and exercise? A common myth about food and exercise. I'm sure we all have some that we don't even know were myths. You know? How much fucking time do we got? We have about an hour. I mean, really we got all day, but our phones are gonna run out of storage and Yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right. Especially mine, bro, because every video that I send you is like it's like a hundred fucking gigs. It's nuts, bro. It's like a hundred gigs. But the biggest Myth. That carbs are bad. They are not bad. Yeah. We need them. You need the carbs. For energy. This is so I yeah, carbs are bad. That's probably the biggest one, cause that's the one I hear the most. Like I'm trying to go no carb, no carb, no carb. How would you do I'm bro, you ain't gonna have You're trying to die? Yeah. Like, ⁓ yeah, so so you're trying to to meet your makers, but you're telling them okay, okay. Failure is is what you're aiming for. That's what you're aiming for, right? Yeah, it's like, but yeah, carbs are not bad, everybody. ⁓ you need carbs. It's Not the carbs itself. It's the type of carbs that you're having. Right. ⁓ yeah, the reason why I'm overweight is because of carbs, bro. So I'm you what? No bread. Right. You know what? No fruit. Oof. You know what? No, like, dude, like that's not the reason why you're you we're we're having this weight issue now. Right. Right? You keep going to fucking Taco Bell every night. That's why. That's why. Yes, there's carbs. No, that's the yes. But it's not the carbs itself. That's why you have an issue. Right. You know what I'm saying? You having that. Big ass how how many ounces is that? Just thirty ounces. You know what I'm saying? This is 60 ounces, right? This is what people are putting their coffee in. Yeah. This is why you're having a problem. Soda. Which is way worse. The big gulps? Yeah, that's crazy. Bro, that's the amount of sugar. Bro, the amount of sugar, and you're having one of those every single day. Which is nuts. Right? And most people's jobs, you're sitting a lot, right? So they've been burning it. Like you're not you're not as active as you should be. Right. So Yeah, that's probably one of the biggest myths that carbs is ⁓ is bad and they're not. Matter of fact, if you know how to use them ⁓ to your advantage, you'll find that like, okay, this pretty cool. Right? Like, for example, you like candy. Right. There's a lot of people love candy, right? It's like, okay, you're gonna have candy, you like having candy every now and again. Okay, cool. Instead of just having that shit on a random, you know what I'm saying, Saturday night at midnight. Right. Right? Okay, let's like, okay, you w you coming to the gym on Wednesday, you're gonna be in here at about one One in the afternoon, you know what? Let's have it let's have a handful of those Skittles right before you come in here. You're gonna be burning the sugar off anyway. Right. So you might as well give yourself a little bit of energy if you if you feel like you absolutely need to have some candy. Well, I'm also not gonna eat the whole bag. Exactly. I'm having I always ⁓ the kids and core already know. If I go and reach in I'm like, I just need six Skittles. I just need six. It's always like I just need six Skittles real quick. And that's all I need 'cause it satisfies my sweet tooth. Yeah. And it it and working hard In the gym as I do already, I feel comfortable doing that. There was a point in which I did not. Right. Because I believe the myth about carbs being bad. And then also I have a weird thing with like any food. It could be good food, but if I feel stuffed, ⁓ yeah, you're like then I'm like, ⁓ no, I'm fat. Yeah, I'm fat. I'm fat, bro. I'm I'm fat. I gained it all back. And like I just I just gained twenty pounds price. Right. And all you have is chicken and broccoli and rice. And you're like, yeah, that's what I do. But yeah, that's a that that's a big one. Like I said, we can go on for hours talking about all the different myths out there. Yeah. and that's why I'm not the biggest fan. And I've had people in my like ⁓ my wife had a time where she was doing keto. ⁓ my ⁓ I believe my I don't know if my dad was doing it. My my mom for sure was doing keto at one point. Okay. ⁓ because you know, there's all these different fads and stuff like that. And I'm not and I'll I'm the coach, I'm never opposed to trying it. Right, 'cause you gotta learn it yourself, right? Of course. I might tell you like, yeah, I I wouldn't do it, but hey, like you like you're already it seems like your look, foot's already in the water. Go on there and swim a little bit. See if you like you can try. But here's what happened with ⁓ I'm not saying this is for everybody, but th here's what happened with the with the keto diets once they started implementing carbs back in. The weight came right back. Uh-huh. It came right back. Well, they probably didn't know how to keep the balance. That's that That part, but also keto diet, you're you're depriving yourself of of carbs for however many or you're only having like, yeah, I'm only having like somebody told me one time like, Yeah, man, I'm trying to aim, I'm trying to get like, you know, thirty grams of carbs. I was like thirty grams. Right. They was like, Yeah, man, you know, carbs are bad, man. So I'm doing the keto, man, so I'm only trying to get no more than thirty. I'm like, Okay, so I was like I'm like, So where's your energy coming from? Right. ⁓ yeah, the ⁓ the protein and the fats. Sure. Okay. Sure, but you need those for other things too. Yeah, like it's the the energy that you need, you need it now. Nothing burns faster, gets to you faster than carbs, right? It's like, you know, so yeah, just you know, put the damn you know what I'm saying? I'm not I'm not even gonna say put the cookies and shit down. Cause if that's what you like, like have fun, yeah. Have it, bro. Have it. But look, let's be honest. Like, ⁓ no, it's not the carbs, bro. No. It's like that that late night snack that you having. You gotta either change it if you feel like you need to have a snack or you need to get rid of that. Yeah. Or you need to put your carbs. If you're a carb person, cause I've told you plenty of times, you and Core, I'm like, bro, after this workout, man, y'all gonna need some some in and out or something. And which we do. And we feel phenomenal. Afterwards, bro. And then even the next day, we're using that that using that ⁓ those carbs again. Yeah, like I'm glad you had that. Like I'm glad you had that, bro. Like you got the perfect amount, you got your protein, your fats, you got you got a little bit of the bad shit, if you will. Right? And all the nutrients, like you got All that in one meal and then the stuff that the those carbs are ready to go the next day. Right. ⁓ yeah, we and we go in there and we're crushing it. Right. I have a client right now. I kid you not. I kid you fucking not. Shout out to Stacy. Shout out to Stacey. I'm a name drop. Shout out Stacy. For so much of our earlier years, I guess, 'cause it's been almost four years since I've since I've trained her. ⁓ she had a hard time eating. Like she was just like, nah, not like I'm ne like I'm not really hungry. Or when I do, I just snack. Right. Right. And I'm like, Stacey, like it got to a point where we wanted to go up and wait or we wanted to push her a little bit more and we couldn't do it because she just didn't have the energy for it. Mm-hmm. So I was like and she started, you know, training in the mornings. I'm like, you gonna need something. She's like, but I don't like eating in the morning. I th gonna have thug it out and to find something. So I'm like, I need you to eat something. Yeah. I don't give a shit what it is. Yeah. So we found out, and I kid y'all not, we have the best workouts. When she has, once again. When she has pizza before a workout. Pizza. Pizza. And she don't go crazy because she's not a big eater. But she'll go like let's take the little like mod pizza. You know, the slices, you and she'll have like a slice and a half. And she has, and then during her workout, I say you like candy. She's like, yeah. What's your favorite candy? Peanut MM's. Have like a handful of those next to you during the workout. So just in case you're feeling like your energy's dipping, you can have that sugar, spike your glucose up a little bit, and you feel fine, bro. I kid y'all not. The shit that they talk about online and what you need to do and what you can't do, a lot of that shit is false. It's not real. I'm gonna tell you here firsthand. Yeah. That shit is bullshit, man. That makes sense. And you just need to figure out how you can make those things work for you as opposed to against you. And also moderation. That too. Moderation is is the key for literally anything and everything, including all of the healthy foods. Bro. Because it's like, yes, you can enjoy all have your servings of vegetables and have your servings of this and have your. Yes, all the things your body needs, but you're also depriving yourself of all this good. Yeah. That's still good. It's not bad. I think labeling anything bad is is not smart. Cause even soda itself isn't necess isn't inherently bad. It's high fructose corn syrup ⁓ corn syrup not great. Yeah. Yeah, 'cause it's it's immediately fat. Your body keeps it, stores it, doesn't get rid of it. Yeah. So but in moderation, you want to grab a soda, grab a soda. Don't grab a soda. Maybe don't get the thirty ounce one. Yeah. Just get the can. Yeah, get the can. And have the can once a week. Yeah. You know, like why not? Yeah, like don't buy a case. Don't buy a case of it. Just grab a quick can. Buy a quick can, a little bottle, whatever the case is, bro. Moderation. For us in our household, we have a secondary fridge in our ⁓ garage. Yeah. And which is full of drinks. Yeah. But all of the sodas, all zero sugar. Yeah. So that's even more of a it took a minute to get used to. Yeah. Because it tastes like it, but not all the way. Yeah. And now I'm fully used to it. Now there's no way I could go back. Yeah. ⁓ but like, yeah, like w I'd rather have that. So then I'm still enjoying and ⁓ not having not but not feeling too bad about it if I am using the word, but like not feeling too bad about it. No. So but yeah, moderation is key. Moderation is key, bro. Like my wife and I, we have our little sweet treat. Like we'll you know, we'll get something from like Trader Joe's, whatever some of our favorite stuff. And it's like all right, that's our sweet treat for the day. Right, right. Right? Because look, I'm gonna tell y'all. I've been a coach for quite some time. I ain't gonna be there. I've said it before. I ain't gonna be the one to say, yeah, eat salads and shit. Unless you like salads and all that. But I'm like, bro, like, if you get to a point like, man, I don't know why I'm feeling like this. I'm like, bro, you probably need a fucking cookie right now. Right. Ref cookie that burger. Yeah, you probably need that shit. Eat the burger. Right? Because like you you're doing all this activity, which is great, it's cool, but like we try to get you to a certain point. I need you to be Energized, ready to go. And sometimes the coffee or the Celsius and shit just ain't gonna do it. You need some actual food in your system to kind of get you through if it's an hour, right? We need that, we need that extra to get you through that hour. So there's plenty of myths. But that one, cars being ⁓ bad and all that, yeah, that shit is yeah, that's that that that shit is trash, you what I'm saying? Okay. But you know, pivoting, right? 'Cause I wanna talk about scripts, man. Okay. Cause he's like, okay. ⁓ Right? 'Cause I've had my experiences just like very small stuff, but like reading script plays and stuff like that. ⁓ and I'm curious, do you prefer when you get the script, do you prefer to improvise lines or do you prefer to stick to the script like whatever it says there and that's what you say or that's what you ⁓ convey as far as that? Do you prefer Like, do you prefer somebody tell you like, yo, man, you got free reign, like this is the script. Feel free to make it your own. Or like, hey, stick to the script. Like, what do you prefer? Okay, so yo, yeah. ⁓ I feel like this is a I feel like this is a good one. It's a good question. I know what I would prefer. Yeah. Like I prefer to improvise whatever's natural in the moment. Yeah. But you know, you you actually in the world like you get you've gotten paid to do this for a long time. So what would you prefer what's worked best like? Curious. So there's what I prefer versus what the client prefers. Okay, okay, good. Because there's a there's a big difference, man. Good fucking differentiation. There's a there's a big difference because do I do am I down to improvise and have fun, please be playful, all that stuff? Ad lib, absolutely, but not every client wants that, you know? So yes, for me, it's so much fun to get to be to improvise, be playful, and try something new. I'm also dyslexic. So I do it on accident all the fucking time. Okay. Okay. And so, and this has been I didn't know I was dyslexic until not that long ago when a director pointed it out. Because it was it was it it like I noticed that I don't see the word there or the words are switched, or I'm just adding in what I think should be there. no idea that that was what it was. I did not see myself as dyslexic. I also am a slow reader. Did not know that that was because it is difficult to make sure all these words stay in focus and in line. Right. ⁓ and so I prefer to improvise and have fun and and be able to express a character or even a script for a commercial in in a different way than what's written. Right. 'Cause often it's it's a way to add personality, it's a way to add to the character, it's a way to give room. For something else, it's also a way to have a different interpretation that maybe the client or the producers or whoever didn't know would be the case. Right. Cause often when you're voicing anything, the the client, the casting director, doesn't know exactly what they're looking for. So you're gonna give it. So if that that little chuckle that you did in the middle of this line felt right to you, it might feel right to the casting director going, hmm. I didn't even know that the character would be that's a little cynical. Yeah. ⁓ I I didn't interpret it that way, but you did. Okay, I like that. I like that one. ⁓ so personally, yeah, I love improvising. I love to get and have fun with that. I used to do improv in in high school or b in muddle s middle school and in high school, and it's an improv as an adult. Okay. And then of course in my job, so much of it really is like, well, whatever what what do you think? Yeah. You know, I'll do a commercial, and at the end of doing the whole session, they'll go, Can we get like one more take? So now I've started adopting this. I'm like, can I do one more take after I've heard other People do this. ⁓ I do one more take where I s you know, just whatever. Yeah, whatever. Just like sure. Yeah. And then I do that and I go, Wow. That was actually pretty good. That was pretty good. Yeah, that's pretty good. Okay. Okay. And so 'cause it's like I'll get to play around 'cause that now I'm sitting here for an hour, we're doing it the certain way every time. Let me try it this way. We're like my interpretation is is this other thing. Okay. Now back to what clients are when they're picky, when they're looking for something. ⁓ You know, like it's it's smart to stick to what the client wants if they are letting you know that's what they want. Yeah. it's also smart when you're auditioning. If you're going to do if you wanna do ad libs or if you want to give the character a little something extra, or sometimes because I'm dyslexic, I will accidentally do it anyway. And so I'll go, I'll save that for my take two. My take one will be because they're not saying I can add lib, they're not saying I can do more or reprovise. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that's my take two or take three. ⁓ so I'm gonna do one that I make sure I do per the script. Yeah, pardon. The client might be like, I don't want you to mess with this. We wrote it this way for a reason. For a reason, yeah. ⁓ but then I'll save that other one or I'll do another one that I'm like, this is my interpretation. Yeah, it's my interpretation. This is I think this little this little ad lib is helpful. Yeah. Or in something in my industry it's called ⁓ there's something in an addition that's like that, but that ⁓ it's called pre life. Pre life, okay. So it's like pre life is a is a is a sound effect, a sentence, a word, Whatever it might be, right before you go into the script. So if I'm going to if I'm going to say, It's about time you got here, yeah. If I go, it's about time you got here, okay. It's now a different it's leading me into the what needs the the the the character's ⁓ point of view or the way it needs to be said. And that's it's helpful a lot when it's like if I were to do about time you got here versus About time you got here. Yeah. Now that pre-life in the editing room, yeah. I cut out that pre-life. But that helps me set up myself for that line. Yeah. Because often in voiceover, you're doing it alone. Yeah. So it's helpful to get what you're looking for within that pre-life. Okay. And it also changes the the the the line itself. Okay. That was two different interpretations right there. That's an A and a B. Yeah. So if I wanted to do a C, it might be like a ⁓ Yeah. So but having that breath in between. So it's the pre life. Okay. It helps me get into that. Okay. I like that. I like that. Okay, with that being said, ⁓ and I knew and I knew when we was talking about this, I knew this would lead me to other things. So I'm gonna ask you my second one. Okay. When it comes down to scripts, because and I totally forgot about you being, you know, dyslexic and all these other things, right? With that being said, how many times do you have to or do you feel you need to read a script before you're like, okay, I got it? ⁓ man. Like it might I know it might change based on the script, but like like if you had to give a gauge, like how long would you say it takes for you to be like, you know what? Okay, I got this shit. Improvis improvision or not. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It it would probably take I can be a one take wonder, which is great. Yeah. But not all the time. Nor is that like the best thing in the world. No, I would say. It's because you can you're missing out on interpretations of the lines. Yeah. Or of the script or of the character. When it's like, okay, one shot. Done. Wow, great. That's all we needed. It's like, do you know that? Because you might like take how often do I do ⁓ a session, and they're using take fourteen s B. Yeah. Because like we finally got to, and it's like, ⁓ this is exactly what we're looking for. Like, ⁓ this ⁓ that is perfect. I've already done it so many times. ⁓ so but for me being dyslexic and also having to Make sure that I'm getting through the script. Maybe it's like for a commercial and there's a certain time frame. Like if I'm doing a commercial audition or even a s let's say I'm in session and it's supposed to be a fifteen second spot. Yeah. Well, I need to be able to get what I need said in that amount of time. Actually less than that. Usually I need to get it done in about twelve seconds for whatever pre and whatever post in the in the spot. Yeah. Whatever sound effects or maybe other voiceover or whatever. And so I have twelve seconds actually to say what what's here, but not not to speed it up. I need us to have a good pacing. Good pacing. So it it might take a few times to read through to be able to understand that. And these are all little these are little little things that you have to learn along the way. ⁓ because do I know do I know that it's twelve seconds from experience? Apps of fucking looting. Yeah, right. Because if you go into it going, I have fifteen seconds, it's like nigga, no, you don't. No, you don't, bro. You really you don't. There's never a fifteen second spot that you usually that you would utilize all fifteen seconds for the voiceover. Yeah. They need room. They need yeah, they need room they need room to breathe too, yeah. And so you need to usually get it in like twelve, maybe thirteen, you know, so then there's space. And then if you do it in that twelve and they go, We I I liked it. But can we you can you know give it a little bit more room than you have you have that room to play with? Yeah, now you you even see more professional when you got that room to play with, you know. Rather than being like, Okay, you came in at seventeen, let's try again. Yeah. Came in at eighteen that time, try again. Damn, you was at 30. It's too slow. Like it's it's you look pro more professional if you n if you have these these little bits of knowledge already. Okay. You know, that's helped a lot. So yeah, it takes me a few times to look over and then also making sure that because of my dyslexia and now that I can label it that it's helpful. You know. Because before I thought I was I thought there was something wrong with me. Okay. I thought I was broken, bro. I mean shit. Because I was like, how am I I could they'll say, Great take. Can you do it again now? But well, let's remove that word that I threw in because I thought it was there. You're like, where's it in the script? So I look back and I go, Damn. No fun Yeah, no problem. I got you. I got you. You're like, I got you though. And so then I do it again, I do it right, and that's it feels good, but it yeah, we took that director who I've worked with for the past four years or five years on multiple projects. And he was like he's like, I wanna let you know. He's like, And you were in a safe space right now, so I want you to know that I'm mean this from from love and support. Yeah. 'Cause I don't think you've realized yet. Yeah. But you're in a safe space. So and we and we had like Forty five minutes left of our session. Yeah. So I'm glad like the opening of that, and he's a great director. And like I and the opening of that being like, You're in a safe space, so I just want you to like this is not a I'm not pointing something out that's bad about you. I've worked with him for years. He's like, I think you have dyslexia. Who the fuck are you talking to? Man, like, wait. What yeah, what dyslexia? And the zoom camera. What? Yeah. Look, you calling me slow? Like you're calling me slow. So like it was like, ⁓ You know, I'm like, I think you're right. Yeah. He's like, it probably was like, ⁓ you what? That makes all the sense. I didn't realize. But yeah, but then also there's so many actors, you know, that that have dyslexia. Tom Holland i is is is ⁓ huge actor, biggest actor in the world right now, man. Major sleep majorly dyslexic. Majorly. Makes sense. So that he has to I mean, he's probably really great at memorization, which has gotten easier for me in the booth as well. Yeah. Cause I get the script right in front of me. He's different. He's on camera. He has to memorize. But even the like the taking it in of the of the memorizing has to has to be difficult, you know, because if if everything's always mixed up and jumbled, that's gotta that's gotta it's difficult. I have the script right in front of me, so then I end up just jumbling it right then and there. And I can do that multiple times over until I'm like, sh no, that's not what it says. Yeah. Boom, boom, boom. It's four words. And why do I say why is there five to me? Yeah, why is there five on that? Yeah. And so ⁓ but yeah, like even Even big actors ⁓ have a hard time too. Yeah, you know. ⁓ who is it? I think it's Stellan Skarsgard. What the dad of the Skarsgards. ⁓ can't memorize anymore. If I'm not please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm not mistaken, he's had a condition for a long time now that he he can't memorize, so he has to get fed his lines. ⁓ So incredible actor, but can't memorize anymore. Yeah. That's hard. That's hard to n to navigate. So yeah, like it having dyslexia has been quite the battle and I really didn't see it the way that I see it now. Yeah. Which I now I'm like I I'm so grateful that he gave me the safe space. Yeah. 'Cause it it could have I've had I've dealt with other directors and ⁓ producers in my past that have definitely harmed my journey ⁓ by the way they've approached me. and so the him him deciding to be very gentle to help me out and feel know that I was in a safe space. was so beneficial. Yeah, and I feel like it's it I feel like it's always cool because you hear those stories, whether it's voice acting or you know, ⁓ you know, like famous scenes and movies or TV shows, and they're like, yeah, that was all improv right there. Yeah. Like that was all improv. ⁓ man, I love that. I love that shit. And I think you get like I think you get a good chance to see like the the true creativity of the of the actor or the actress in that moment. They're like, yo, ⁓ this might be the premise, but hey, improv it. Yeah. Like improv. Like the whole, like the whole I say it's movie cause we both know about hard, but bad boys too. Yeah. The whole Reggie scene between ⁓ with Will Smith and and ⁓ Martin Lawrence was was improv. Like the kid was genuinely was genuinely scared. I think the director told him, like, look, like ⁓ ca we need we need raw emotion, like we want him to really be scared. Yeah. ⁓ so I think like before they they was like fake arguing, yeah, or whatever. And that's why you got the whole like You know saying who that is at the door? It's Reggie. Who the fuck is Reggie? Who the fuck is Reggie? He said, he said, he said, this is your uncle. He just got out the joint. He was like, yeah, don't don't disrespect me in front of the couple. Like and that's how you get Chitty Chitty Bang bang, nigga. That's what's gonna be. That's what's gonna be. Have a home at ten o' one. And she's not home by ten on one, I'm in the car. And you know, floating and hunting your motherfucking ass down. That whole scene was like, ⁓ I like obviously the scene, like that was the scene, but the director was like, yo, we need like we want him to be scared. Easy to do, because at the time he's a young actor, he's new, you got these vets, right? So and they're like, yo, just I think they were argue like they were even fake arguing on set like the whole day. They're like, yo, what's going on with these two? Right. And then it was like, all right, just roll. And then they went through and do that, which is dope. Genius to see. Genius. ⁓ and I I I just love seeing actors and actresses work. Yeah. Like obviously having the script and making it come to life, but when it's ⁓ when it's ⁓ you know, when it's improvised or whatever the case is, that shit's dope, man. It is, man. It really is because it's ⁓ it does that takes a lot of skill to improvise. And it's also like knowing your character. Yeah. As you know, and that d doing improv on on on your own. Like if you want to join an improv trooper just go for a class or two and learn. If you're an actor, like it's great to have that under your belt. Usually those classes are are relatively cheap and affordable. ⁓ and it's it's worth doing that a few times. So then you understand the improv muscles. Like they're already built in. Yeah. Like you know that if you were asked to just start talking, you could do it you could do it. Yeah, you could do it, yeah. Yeah. You could figure it out. Yes, doing it within a within a certain, you know, parameter. Yeah. Or something like that. All go. Yeah. So i I think it's definitely worth it. So yeah, I I've definit I've definitely ⁓ I've enjoyed ⁓ improv myself and been utilizing my career every step of the way all the damn time. I like that. ⁓ so ⁓ I think I wanna ask you this 'cause this is ⁓ it's ⁓ it's super simple, but I wanna I wanna know. I wanna know the people wanna know. Give me a hot take about your industry. Damn, how much fucking time do we got, man? We got about we got it all day. You know what? They'll wait for us. They'll they'll they'll they'll watch. A hot take. Damn, man. I think about this all the time too, because I talk about it all the time. ⁓ man. Damn, man. You know what, na nah i it's a hot take. Fitness is not as hard as everybody makes it out to be. You heard it here first, folks. Fitness is not as hard as everybody makes it out to be. You are correct. You do not need the super fancy shit. Is it cool to have? Cool. Like ⁓ but you do not need you don't even need a fancy diet, per se. ⁓ like it's fitness is very simple. ⁓ the only difficult part about fitness and getting to whatever your fitness goal is is consistently doing it. Yeah. But you don't need all of these other things ⁓ that people tell you that you need and stuff like that. Like yeah, you need to get up mad early and you need to do all this stuff. Like it really and people hate when I say this because they'll ask me you know different questions and stuff all the time. But if you're truly in fitness, if somebody's being honest with you, they're gonna tell you it depends a lot. Because it does depend on schedule. It depends on person. It depends on what your goal is. It depends on what your aim at. Like it depends on all of those things. So I can talk to you and get your goals and what you want to do and get to your lifestyle and develop a plan. Not just kicks your ass as far as the workouts go. It's not just like, ⁓ yeah, here's the meals and everything like that. But you have a lifestyle, you have a structure outside of the gym. How can we make that as and like I already know? If it was up to you, like, bro, I'm not going to the gym. Right. Right? Like I can like. And that's most people. Most people are like, bro, I fucking hate the gym. And that's okay. Yeah. We're not here to like it. Like you don't have to like the gym, but it's it's a necessity to your health and you. I'd rather be healthy. Right, exactly. You'd rather be healthy. Okay, I have to do I have to do this. Be healthy, I'd rather have my mobility. Everything. I'd rather have the the f the body that I want to feel good in. Like it helps my mental health. Like there's so many benefits. I eat better, like this, I sleep better. There's so many. I hate the gym, but I my life is so much better because of it. So fitness is not I know it's kind of overwhelming because you see so many different things and like, yo, you have to do this, so you need to do that. ⁓ who's to say? They might be right, they might be wrong. Who knows? Yeah. ⁓ but fitness is not as it's not as difficult as people make it out. If I had give my professional advice to any of you out there who maybe early on in your journey or maybe ⁓ you're looking to get back in your journey, but you don't know where to start because like I said, you got maybe you listen to David Goggins over here do this. ⁓ I'm not saying his is wrong, but like, you know not for everybody. It's not for everybody. And he has so much experience underneath his belt within ⁓ how he likes to do about things. So mentally he's already in that space. Right. Physically he's already in it, like he's ⁓ well oiled machine. He's a master at that type of stuff. Yeah. Or if you're listening to whatever fitness influencers or whatever the case is. A lot of them are also athletes, ex athletes. Ex athletes too. Where's like this is what I've been doing for years or decades. So this is this is built in. Built in. This is what my schedule always is made made for. Yeah. So new person being like, I don't have that built in. Yeah, I don't have that built in it seems scary, especially like you said, consistency. Yeah. This is already built into so many people. Especially they're giving you that information. Yeah, man. So then it's hard it's easy to say, like, yeah, like you know, just show up. Yeah, just show up not stop. Like, bro. Stop being the bitch. Yeah, stop being Just show up. And it's like, well, you show up because you were you did football from peewee through college, and you just maintain that, and now you're a trainer. Like it's that good for you, but like I did not. So it's like get to get to the deeper level of that. Like, okay, yeah, just show up, but how do I get over this? Like, how do I get over this this gym anxiety? Yeah. Or having people. This ⁓ this idea or this fear of people like looking at me like, ⁓ look at her, look at him, they're out of shape, like they don't know what they're doing. Like how do I like how do you get a person over that? ⁓ and I think that's where from a coach's perspective, I think a lot of coaches and trainers, ⁓ either they're not focused on that element or they don't care enough about that element, ⁓ to help somebody else do that. ⁓ 'cause it's deeper than just like if it was just like, ⁓ yeah, just Just show up. Then they wouldn't have this, like there would be no need for them to pay me or pay you or whoever to to help them train if it was that easy. There's something else going on within that human being right there to where showing up is not just as easy. So we have to start there. Yeah. Right? We have to start there. Like, yeah, we can formulate this plan, but if we can't even get this person to show up in the gym for two, three days, however many it is, ⁓ we're gonna be we're gonna well that's a uphill battle. Yeah. Pivot is necessary. And then and it's a it's it's a lot of frustration and things like that. So that would be my hot take. That's a good hot take. yeah, that would be my hot take is that you know, fitness is I'm not gonna sit here and say it's easy, but it's a very simple process. Right. You start with something very small, and you go like, okay, if you got access to a gym, that's okay. Can you get in the gym twice? Right. Can you get in there twice a week? Right. Right. Other days, maybe you walk or something. That cool you focus on twice a week. Yeah. Right. And then it's okay. Once you get comfortable to where it's like a kind of like a second nature, then it's easier to add the third. Yeah. You do the same process. Absolutely. Then at some point it's like, okay, fourth. Right. And then if five is your goal, okay, then you work up to that. And then once it gets to a point where you're like, I can get into the gym, I can stay on routine, I can do that. Then we can start getting to nitty gritty, like, okay, let's focus on what you're doing in here. Yeah. Right? Let's focus on ⁓ how we can progress you from point A now to point B. But the the biggest thing is just kind of unlearning the idea of the man fitness is just is just so hard like and it's just so difficult and it's just so complex. And it's like nah it's just different from when you were eighteen. Yeah. They had more time at eighteen. Yeah. You're you're forty. There's plenty people that used to go to the gym. Yeah. Like myself who was like in and out, on and off. Years. Yeah, for a long time. And even being an I was an athlete, but I wasn't like that wasn't my focus. Yeah. So like after I was no longer doing athletics, I was like, I'm gonna stop spelling. And that's most people too. That's most people. So then even in my adulthood, it like, ⁓ yeah, on and off, on and off, on and off. So then joining at EOS, I've already been at EOS. Yeah. For a while. Yeah. But it was like if I'm not if I wanna progress, if I wanna like solidify, the only way I'm gonna do that is if I have some help. Yeah. Because I really cannot if I allow if I'm listening to myself, me says no. Yeah. Right? And that's most people. Yeah. Most people are like, Don't do it. Don't don't do it. Yeah, don't do it. But even when you started, right? Yeah. Even though you had the experiences and stuff, and that's why I always ask, like, what's your previous or prior experience with working out or training? You know, ⁓ let's go, you know, most people are like, Yo, in high school I played football or I was soccer, basketball, right? And then I'm like, Okay, what about adult adult life? Like what's it been? And then that's what you start hearing, like, Okay, I've done this, I've done that. And then I kinda already know, like, just from Talking to people like some people are like no I'm I'm like I'm avid, Jim Gore, like I go, I just don't know like I'm not doing the right shit. Like I I come in here, I do the treadmill, my cardio, I maybe do a couple machines, but I leave after that. Or it's like some people, like in your case, you're like, Okay, you know, you might get two good weeks, like I'm in here two or three times a week and then it's like, okay, you don't see Kane for like a month and then you come back, right? I'm like, Yeah, I'm back. So then it's like but then it becomes a whole different thing from a culture's perspective and then getting you guys to understand because You guys be the first person like, damn, how come I can't fucking get this? Yeah. I used to be able to do this. Right. How come I can't do it now? Or it seems simple. Why can't I just do this? Yeah, why can't I just do it? I get to the weekend, I to do I want to do it. It's changed now. I have the habits. So it's easier to show up and it's also easier for me to now to be like, I don't think today's it. Yeah. And that's okay. Yeah, it's a even this morning was like we were gonna go for just doing cardio. Mm-hmm. And then we were like, Well actually, we're okay. Yeah. Then it's okay. We have a different Then the workout y'all did yesterday was a hard one. Hard as hell. This shit sucks, man. That shit sucks. It was hard as hell. We were so tired. Listen, I'm like, I'm laughing because I made this shit. Yeah. And it's called This Shit Sucks. Yeah, that's what the workout's called. This shit It was because it does. It does sucks. But like today was easy to wake up and go, you know what? That's okay. Because we'll be busy. We're gonna go to the gym tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with the boys. The boys, bro. Because the boys will go to see you on Fridays, and then we'll go together as a family in the morning just to do cardio on Saturdays. So it's okay now. But in the past, that one day would turn into multiple days into multiple weeks. I'm good. I don't want to even do it. And then I would get mad, like, ⁓ I can't drink. I can't eat what I want. Bro. I can't do what I want. And it's like, no, I do that now. I drink when I want to. And I eat when I want to. It's now in moderation. It comes and goes. Sometimes I'm like, Yeah, I'm good. I don't need all that. Yeah. Sometimes I don't want it at all. You know what's crazy, you guys? The crazy part about this? Even early on, like him and his fiancee were super strict. To restrict, right? And I'm look, I was like, cool, like go for it, you know, saying we doing the thing. But then I saw with him specifically, it was with him specifically, it was like it got to a point where it felt more like a chore. Yeah. ⁓ with the journey, as opposed to like ⁓ enjoying every aspect of it. So I got to a point I said, dude, if you want to fucking drink, like have a drink, bro. Like have a drink. You wanna ⁓ You want you want a cookie, have it bro. Like you get like whatever. I went a long time without drinking, without eating anything. It was a it was a good period, but then I was suddenly like depressed about it. Yeah, man. Like I'm not enjoying life, I'm just working out. Yeah, man. And that's not and that's not as much as I love working out and I'm in the field and it's great and all that. Bro, everybody has their thing that they enjoy to do. Yeah. ⁓ but just like we talked about in moderation, you just have to that's the element there. ⁓ And that's where a good coach or good trainer comes in just to remind you of that. Like and I had to tell him, I Dude, I never told you to stop drinking. Like that was something that you had already that that was already there. It's like, dude, I'm just not drinking. I'm like, Okay, like cool. I'm I really thought I could lock in that way, and which I did. You did for a little while. Only to then be like, This is that's not worth it to me. Yeah. And for some people it is. And for others, for myself in particular It's like, no, I really would rather have some wine every once in a while. Yeah, like every every couple of weeks now. Every couple weeks now I have I have my couple glasses or whatever. Sometimes more. ⁓ Yeah, he can't he in. He can't I'm gonna tell y'all right now, let's put him on black. He came in last week, had a ha what, a half bottle? Half a bottle. Half a bottle of wine, but his face was swollen. I couldn't get through that workout, bro. Drag dragging ass, bro. Right? And I was look, he looked like I got some sense. He looked I got a good heart. 'Cause look The old me would have been like, no, we're outside, we got sled, we got like we're gonna work this goddamn wine about you. But, but I'm gonna tell y'all right now, that's not always, that's not always the the safest nor the smartest thing. Right? ⁓ especially if you just saw the way he was moving. He got through it. Yeah. He got through it, he was doing it, but man, you could just tell him like, bro, you take the rest of the day, take a shower, right? Get a get a get a some liquid IV, something, bro. You know what I mean? It was rough. And then get and then get back. ⁓ you know what I'm saying? But to to that point though, yeah. ⁓ You can still enjoy the things that you enjoy and get to your fitness goals, man. Like I'm not a big drinker, but on on like a Saturday or something, hey man, look. Have fun. Hey, the wife wanna have a margarita? I'm gonna have one too, shit. I'm gonna have one. Look, I want some ice cream, I'm gonna fucking have it. Have fun. I'm gonna fucking have it. You can still have fun and be on your fitness trip. Like it's cool, bro. You just gotta like I said, bro, don't let them people lie to you, bro. Unless the doctor told you something different and you they're like, bro, you have to stop doing this. That's the only time, like, all right, we gotta be strict on that because If you don't, you're gonna die. Right. You are not gonna like if you're on blood pressure medication, right? Like, hey, there's certain things that we can't do. Right. Because we're trying to get you off. Until we get you off of it, we gotta be strict on it. But fitness is simple. It takes a lot of work, yes, but it is simple, bro. Yes. It is simple. And like I said, we can be here all day talking about this shit. ⁓ 'cause there's a lot, man. I hear a lot of shit and I'm just like Yeah. No, I feel that. I feel that. That's why I wanted to ask, you know, what's a what's a hot take on your industry. Yeah, man. Yeah, that's that fitness is that's that's not simple. Like that that's that's real good. Yeah. Also too, I'm gonna say this 'cause I'm thinking about it. The the other hot take man that I got, man, is the the whole like, ⁓ yeah, this is the workout. This is if you want six pack abs, this is the workouts you gotta do. ⁓ I hate that. Yeah. I hate that, man. How many YouTube videos, shorts, Instagram, TikTok? This is what's gonna look if you do this and you'll get it. You wanna be built like Chris Hemsworth? This what you gotta do. Nigga, no, I I can't be built like Chris Hemsworth. I I I'm not Chris Hemsworth. You know what I'm saying? I'm not Chris Hemsworth. Can I get can I get muscular fit and shit? Yeah. But can I do that? No. Bro. Can I have solid? Can I have the ab show? Yeah. But after so much time and these particular things, and like you mentioned before, it's so much in the kitchen. It's so much about what you eat, when you eat, how you eat it. How you eat it, bro. Like, bro, and that's why I stopped because I used to do ⁓ like like I said, when I was young and not and naive and didn't know no better as far as in the business, I I used to, you know, do stuff like, Yeah, this is this is gonna get you shredded. ⁓ yeah. Right. And from a trainer's perspective, from a business perspective, I get it. Like I said, I ain't trying to take away no from nobody's business and and they how you get your money and all that. But the truth of the matter is, right, whether you are a trainer with a trainer, you're a trainer yourself, or you're just a you know, you're a person who's in the gym going. There isn't just one workout or one exercise that's gonna get rid of that stubborn belly fat. Or that's gonna lose you know, help you lose the man titties if you got ⁓ Yeah. Right? Or the the little the little ⁓ you know, chicken chicken wings down here, the little bat wings. There isn't just one workout that's gonna help reduce those areas. You can't target those areas, bro. Like you can't target them. You train everything together, bro. You train, you train your legs, you train your arms, and you eat. Well, 80-20 is my rule, bro. 80-20. 8020. And even with that, and look, it's not gonna be 80-20 all the time. You're gonna have a bad week. Yeah. Where it's like, all I did 60. And that's okay. I did 6040. Right. Like I did 60-40. Okay. Like it's cool, bro. Like, let's just get back on track. But yeah, that's another one of those ⁓ hot takes, bro. Not saying those workouts don't work, but there isn't anything out there besides just getting in there and doing the shit that's gonna help. Ultimately. And doing the things that you enjoy when you're in the gym, 'cause I know that's like if you were to walk incline at twelve at three miles an hour, it's better than running for thirty minutes at the six miles an hour. Who cares? If you like running, run. Run. If you like walking, walk. If you like walking with incline, put the incline on. Whatever you like. Whatever you to do, bro. Whatever you like to do, bro. It's it w yeah, whatever look you're you're you're gonna have some similarities with everybody else as far as like what you do and what you're not doing. ⁓ but If it's truly your plan and it's truly your goals that you're worried about, that it's gonna look different. Yeah. It's gonna look different. Like for example, in my own workouts and stuff, I do a lot of cleans and shit. A lot of lot of athletic stuff, 'cause that's what I that's my background, that's what I know. Yeah. I don't have any of you knowing none of that shit. I fucking hate cleans. Yeah, hate cleansings. You see that shit all the time in football. Man. Right? That would cleans every day. All the time. All the time. So y'all know. Y'all know. But it would be it would be irresponsible of me to be like, yo, this is what I do, y'all gonna do too. It's like, yeah, but I'm not yeah, I'm not you. So like you, and nor nor do not say I don't wanna I don't need to nothing wrong being explosive, but it's like, okay, there's other things that we can do instead. Just like burpees, for example. Right. Like I know A Burpees is I know some of the worst. Granddaddy of exercises for a lot of people. Me personally I can look, I can go out there, crush a burpee set. I can give you a hundred. I ain't gonna lie. I'm not gonna do it. I can give you a hundred. But from a coach's eye, and even even from my own workout, there was a stretcher I was doing that. Right. But there's no need now to take you through, take you guys through burpee anything. Right. No. We can get the same effect, if not more effect, with a with a ⁓ carefully structured workout regimen. ⁓ yeah. As opposed to just doing burpees And then a lot of people use societ burpees as punishment too. Yeah. Yeah, that's punishment. ⁓ yeah, that and ⁓ what they're called back and forth now, right? What the ⁓ Suicides. But I think they I think they're called back and forth now. Back and forth now, yeah. The the the mind drill for the kids. I it's not really I call them pacers for the kids. Pacers Yeah, love that, yeah, but those in the for me In the past in sports, it was that was the punishment. Hey, I'm like, look, you know what I'm saying? Remember last Friday, ⁓ man, they was out there the whole the rest of the time because I had to get in their ass and I'm looking I'm not gonna yell at you, I'm not gonna do none of that. Yeah. I'm like, yo, go outside. Let's get it. And then it's everybody too. You can be, but coach, I did good. You part of the team. You part of the team though. So we all doing man. Get your ass over there. Yeah. And everybody gonna touch the line. Everybody better or be running again, bruh. So ⁓ on that on that slight pivot, ⁓ but also in the same vein with ⁓ you know, doing doing what you want to do is key to progressing in your fitness journey. Yes. It's the same with voiceover, and I'm gonna tell this to anybody out there that wants to be a voice actor or that is a voice actor and is frustrated by certain aspects of the journey. Yeah. ⁓ it's do what you want to do in the industry too. Yeah. I'm a voice actor that does everything. Yeah. Because I can and I want to. Yeah. But that doesn't mean that you have to. If what you want to do specifically is like Honestly, I just want to do commercials. Yeah. Then just do commercials. You don't have to worry about well, I don't do a bunch of different voices and I don't do ⁓ this I don't really care. I don't watch anime so like I don't wanna then don't do anime. Don't audition for that. Like don't you don't have to do these things. Yeah. Sure, is it not is it more opportunity? Yeah, but if you're not gonna like it, then don't do it. Yeah. You know, like I'm I'm happy to do anything and everything. And I'm grateful that I get to do all of it. Promos, commercials, ⁓ anime, video games, and I would love to get into more animation. That is you need to be in LA for. ⁓ but like you can do it all, but you don't have to. So do what feels good to you. Yeah. And do as much of it a that feels good to you as well. Because I do this full time, but it took a long journey and there's plenty of actors that I know that do it because they have their their other job. They love that they they're in real estate. Yeah. ⁓ but they do this and this ⁓ this is just extra. Which fun. Yeah. They just enjoy it. This is true. And that's their that's their journey. Yeah. And that that's all right too. Yeah. ⁓ do it doesn't have to be that sure, do we want to be the next big thing? Do we want to be the next big Mick Ringert or the next Terra Strong? Sure. Yeah. But ⁓ that's not going to be for everybody. Yeah. And also you don't have to break your back in the industry trying to make that happen. If you don't genuinely want to do that, yeah. It's not even about it being the next big thing. It's more so about where where do you find comfort in your in your journey. This is true. If like from myself learning from my mentor is is like the the voice actors ⁓ I think I mentioned this last episode was voiced act the vo the dream of a voice actor really is to have the consistency of one job that you get to do nonstop that you enjoy that pays your bills. You get to have or even more so you get to have contract. So whether you did the job Last year, you still getting paid for the job. That's the goal. Yeah. That's like for me and for other actors, that's that's the j that's what you want. You want to be able to just like, yeah, I already did the job. Yeah. And I'm still getting paid for it. Still getting paid for it. And I c I can live with that, so I can just go ahead and do whatever else I want. Yeah. Like that's the goal. Gratefully, I have had this pocket and I'm having it again. Hell yeah. Where it's like, ⁓ now I can just do whatever I want. Yeah, you work hard. And that's that's like so if you don't want to do everything in the industry. You don't have to do it. Yeah. You really don't have to. Yeah. If you want to just be the person that does his commercials, be do commercials. Commercials is great money. It's lot of fun. I love commercials. Yeah, man. It's cool, man. It's cool to see. And plus you always I think it was Samuel Jackson that said this 'cause they were talking about like you probably know do you he been you know how like the exact number, how many movies he's been in? No, I don't. It's a crazy fucking amount. He's been he's been in the industry for so long. And he he got his big break in his forties. Man. Crazy. In the nineties, which was when he was in his forties. Dude, was crazy. But he but I think he said I think it was an interview or something or like magazine, something shit like that. Yeah. He was like, bro, all you need is is one movie. Yeah. And then that's it. And I think at the time he's talking about Nick Fury. Well, you need one role. It was it was it was Bruce Willis that told Sam. ⁓ yeah, Bruce Willis told him that. He told him all you need is one role that you can always go back to. ⁓ and it was Nick Fury for for Samuel Jackson. And he been in shit. Now he's at the point now where every movie he's in, ⁓ like him, then z there's only a handful of people, like if they're in a movie, nine t ten times out of ten they crush the whatever role at the ring. Yeah. ⁓ but to hear him and Bruce Willis talk about that and those are some those like some of the godfathers when it comes down to the entertainment acting ⁓ business, ⁓ that's all that's all y'all need is one. One. One role, man. One. Hey, you do as hey, you do as many as you feel necessary. But all you need is one row, one opportunity that no matter what, like you just like you're like you're good. Yeah. Like I I I can only imagine, this is just a thought. I we got an end. But like I can only imagine, I don't know why, maybe because like we still refer to like SpongeBob and stuff. But the but the guy who plays SpongeBob. ⁓ Tom Kenny. Tom Kenny. Tom Kenny's been in a in he's been in the industry for well before SpongeBob. But he can he's SpongeBob. One fucking role. Same thing with the guy who plays Patrick and all those guys. Like one role and you are s like they've been good what when the show come out, like ninety ninety nine ninety nine, right? So they've been good for almost thirty goddamn years for as far as just SpongeBob alone. Yes, they probably did other things and things like that. He does all the time. But he's but if he didn't want to, wouldn't have to. And you just never know what which role or which opportunity that's gonna be. So it's like it's the same thing with the ⁓ Simpsons, you know? Like ⁓ yeah. They've been going since the eighties. Dan Castellanta, the voice of Homer. Yeah. Is still the voice of Homer. He's done plenty of things. And they got like a hundred fucking seasons. And they got a movie coming out. And a a second to their movie that they had come out early in the two thousands, in which they've had other things and they have all these branches. Yeah, they're the that they're good. That's all you need is and it's all you really only need the one and the same thing with and this is funny 'cause we're mentioning voice things in particular, like the cast of Bob's Burgers or even the If you want to go on camera, the cast of Friends. Yeah. They're set. They make money. Ev they make ⁓ what is it? I think six million million dollars every year. They don't have to do nothing in in ⁓ in r not r royalties, it's ⁓ licensing. Yeah. Like it's something was they pass around the license. They get paid six million dollars at I think it's six or eight every single year. Don't have to do shit they don't want to. They still do because they can, but they don't have to. Like it you it really is one. And for myself, I've been searching for the one for a long time. Yeah. And I I thought I had a one. It ain't it wasn't the one. That bitch wasn't the one. And that where that bitch wasn't the one, and that's okay, cause now I have a new one. And I get to just chill. But yeah, man, it's just yeah, all it takes is one, bro. Yeah. Voice acting, coaching, all it takes is one opportunity, man. And then you are you you can always if all else fails, you're like, you know what, this I I know I have this. I know I have this. So just to kind of simplify it, 'cause you don't need all this extra shit, right? The extra shit is cool, but like Do you just want the cherry on top or do you or do you want the cake? Yeah. Right? Like what which one do you want? Right. You can ha look, you can fight for the cherry and have no fucking cake. Yeah. And no and and no and no cake. Or, you know what I'm saying, you can have the cake and it's like, yo, where your cherry at? Nah, the cake is good though. The cake's good. Cake's plenty. Look, it's red velvet. It's plenty. I can be cool with this right here. This is cool, man. I like I I got it, bro. I agree. You know what I'm saying? Well, goddamn. It's a good episode. Scripts and calorie dips. We were all over the place and I loved it. Yeah. You know? So this is the part of the episode where we go into our highly recommended. Highly recommended. You have a highly recommended, my good sir. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. My highly recommended since we're on the topic of calories and stuff, for those of you, if you're out there And you're working out and you're looking for something that I wish I had one with me, but if you're out there look if you're Vogue. If you're if you're looking for something that's light but gives you just enough energy to get through your work on this is not sponsored by the way, but I love ⁓ so much, is Honey Stinger Waffles, bro. ⁓ Honey Stinger Waffles. Honey Stinger Waffles, bro. You go to your you can go to their website ⁓ and get ⁓ there, but you can go to your local Walmart, Target, Costco, even Sam's Club, wherever you got your local grocery store. Typically they have ⁓ in they either have ⁓ with like all the protein and everything like that, or they have ⁓ with all the workout stuff. Yeah. Like with the workout equipment. Honey, stinger waffles, they got a bunch of flavors and stuff now. ⁓ my go to is the salted caramel. ⁓ Yeah, man, for those of you out there looking for something light, you maybe not a big eater before you work out because you feel like, all right, I don't want to feel like I have a goddamn thirty pounder in my stomach. Yeah. ⁓ a honey stinger waffle. Yeah, man, it's good shit. It's it's it's it's like runners use it a lot, but it's great for like if you if you just going in the gym and lifting, you got you can have your little pre, your little celsips or whatever you like. Add that to it, dude. It's a game changer, I promise you. Yeah. Wow. Yep. Fine. That that honey pack. That honey pack? Yeah, it's good shit. Okay, so my highly recommended for this episode is going to be ⁓ in in line with Scripts. ⁓ so I'm a screenwriter as well. And so I have adopted different ways of understanding story structure and whatnot. And one of the biggest things that I utilize ⁓ is called ⁓ the story circle. Okay. ⁓ essentially the hero's journey, if you know what that is. But the story circle, I use Dan Harmon's story circle. Dan Harmon is the creator of the show community. Okay. ⁓ Rick ⁓ he's one of director or co found co creator of Rick and Morty. ⁓ and a lot of other stuff. Okay. ⁓ two classics though. Two classics right. ⁓ and so but his I'm a huge fan of community. So Dan Harman Story Circle. So it's ⁓ eight points. It's you need go find take return change. Okay. ⁓ and that's essentially the hero's journey. So it it it had the way that the visuals are is that circle, ⁓ and then the you know the top half is ordinary, so you And return, you you return change. You need return change. Or all on the ordinary. This is how you know this this is the the the regular st story. This is how things are supposed to be. And then below that is the chaos that you go through. That the st that the character goes through. So usually the you know, the you is you know, it's comfortable, you know, the character they're they're good where they are, you know, but then ⁓ something happens. That need. There's a there's a shift in their story, and now they need to Go. So now they're d getting into that chaos. They needed to go and go on this search. Yeah. And so they're on this big journey where that's getting even more chaotic and things are getting ⁓ more difficult even. ⁓ or they might have a small win, but it's just not it's not enough. Then they then they find. So they finally get what they want, ⁓ but at a cost. And then they take what they found, ⁓ but it's going to cost even more. And so the the journey continues. So even though they found what they needed, they're now taking it. ⁓ Usually that's like act three, you know, ac it's mid act three where they they take, they they they they get they achieve what they got, but it came at this cost to return. They return home, they return back to where they were, ⁓ only to be changed by that journey, change, the last one. And so it's a great tool to to to to know, to learn, to understand, ⁓ so that when you're creating a story, when you're writing a story, sheesh, even when I'm doing social media for my son's school, it's still the circle. Man, that's interesting, man. Yeah. Look, I I know we gotta end there, but all I heard in my head when you said ⁓ he eventually comes home, I I'm thinking like I said listen to a lot of music, man, but Kendrick Lamar, man, to Pip a butterfly, bro. But he has throughout the album he has the little poem that he has that ends after every certain song. Right. And then he's like, you know, I the whole I remember you as conflicted, abusing your influence and then towards the end of it he's like, you know, he's That same thing that you just did, I and I wonder I'm wondering, cause, you he's he's saying he's He's a storyteller, man. Yeah, he's a storyteller. He's following the hero's journey. Cause at the end of it, he's like, then I came home. Yeah. And ⁓ then he's talking about, you know, telling the homies what he learned. And but it it to your point, it came at a cost. It came at a cost him getting to a certain So that that just that just sparked my shit. So yeah, that's my highly recommended story circle. Dan Harmon Story Circle specifically, but story circle. So If you laugh, if you learned, if you cried, if you ⁓ enjoyed, please ⁓ follow us on Instagram and TikTok.
