Jason Corley: Welcome everybody to the travel dad's podcast brought to you by Bardstown bourbon and green river whiskey. I am your host, Corley my amigo. Jacob Moreno: Jake Moreno. Bienvenidos al otro empezado de Travel Dance Podcast. Jason Corley: Ice cream bro, ⁓ Ice cream? Jacob Moreno: Yeah, yeah, we got a little lazy today and went ahead and ate. Jason Corley: ⁓ like 70 outside. It's hard not to. Jacob Moreno: after dinner. It's was 74 here man it was 74. The ice cream shops are open now so let's get ice cream. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. We were in a daze. We didn't get home until like, don't know, nine 30 last night. ⁓ was, ⁓ it was tough for us. you know, we left the hotel, obviously, you and I talked Saturday night and we had Sal on and we had some of the boys on and I think they enjoyed it. that was a weird setup to like, I've, I learned a lot that time, doing the podcast on. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: What did you learn? Jason Corley: I learned that I don't need half of the shit that I took. That's what I learned. I learned that I'm never taking this arm. I'm never taking this mic. Like taking like very basic things. because order to, in order to utilize this, this stuff, I have to have a lot of other stuff. ⁓ And, wasn't, wasn't necessary outside of having two, you can't have two kids on at the same time. That's for sure. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. No, yes. Jason Corley: Okay. And also with the way we're doing it with the split screen, it's so hard to get other people in to the frame for the podcast that having that many mics, you can't fit everybody in. So it's going to just be one extra mic and you're taught, you're having a conversation with them or we stagger it to where the cameras. So I learned a lot. I learned a lot that I don't have to take as much stuff on the road. I'm going to take way more. Jacob Moreno: Yep. Jason Corley: basic microphones like church microphones, um, for them to just hold because, or, have, have them just on the stand like Sal's, uh, for Sal's microphone, I had a church microphone and a little tabletop stand and that was perfect. You know what I mean? Cause the, thing is, is that, um, if they're not listening into the machine, they'll never be able to hear what you're saying. So we can't, you know I mean? So, and there's only Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, that worked out good. Yes. Jason Corley: Or there's only four outlets or four inputs. So there's only a maximum of three people, you know what mean? To do that. Because the one input is for the phone line. So I just, yeah, I learned a lot. And I also learned that trying to do it at a table like that was not good. It would have been way better had I been, but there were no couches in this place. So I didn't, I mean, that's the first place that everything was like, it was set up to where everything had a table to it for breakfast. Does that make sense? Jacob Moreno: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Jason Corley: So they were all like small little one seat or chairs kind of thing. ⁓ yeah, I just, ⁓ I wouldn't have done it where I did it, but Hey, it was, I was in a hurry. It was what it was ⁓ was nine o'clock Saturday night when I talked to you. It was late. So I had that going on. ⁓ and then we have not, we didn't get a chance to recap, you know, Sunday and how that went, which we'll get into, Jacob Moreno: Nine o'clock? Yeah. Jason Corley: Yeah. So I just, ⁓ we got on the road. we got on the road ⁓ night after the games. So we finished, we played our second one at like two ⁓ or almost three o'clock because the whole day started late because of a fog delay. There was fog, ⁓ just the humidity in the air. So the eight games didn't get off until almost nine. So it pushed everything back throughout the day. Jacob Moreno: Mmm. Yeah. Jason Corley: So we got on the road and I don't know, we got like three hours in and I was literally in the passenger seat trying to edit this while using a hotspot. And it just wasn't, I was getting mad. Well, it wasn't just that, but the amount of time it took like for everything to process as I was making edits, there was such like, it was so slow. Cause I was on the road that I was just sitting there and I was just, I was just dozing off. It was just, it ⁓ Jacob Moreno: ⁓ I'm sure you were up and down, up and down. Jason Corley: I go, you got to pull over. We got to get a room. Like, I got to finish this because I knew that the kids wanted it. And I knew that we were the only ones that were leaving because we were the only ones that drove. we're everybody else was going to be stuck back in the hotel room waiting to hear what they sounded like on the podcast. So I didn't you know, I mean, I just I wanted to get it done. And that's me, too. I didn't want to sit on it. didn't. I wanted to get it out there for everybody. So we pulled over and I went right to bed because by the time we found the hotel, it was Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Jason Corley: I don't know. It was almost 11 o'clock and I went right to bed and I got up at like five and finished it. So when it was dead quiet and there was nobody on the hotel wifi and you know, I could hammer it out and get it done. So, yeah, but, ⁓ Sunday was a bust. I mean, the first game wasn't bad, but the second game we just wouldn't show up. So typical, typical 12U baseball. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, yeah, I mean, and you faced a good team. Jason Corley: Yeah, I want to have a conversation about that, but before we have that conversation, I gotta get something off my chest. Okay. I got to get this shit off my chest. I need you to just be, I need you to be my therapist. Okay. So you and I have had conversations in the past about these gate fees, right? We still to this day, we've heard, I've, I've read comments online where people are like the gate fees go towards umpires and that's bullshit because ⁓ last weekend before every game, one of the coaches was Jacob Moreno: I'm here. I'll be your ear. Jason Corley: Hand in the re the umpires their money. So our ump, like the way it works out with us, our coaches, I don't remember if it was home or away had to pay for the umpire that day. And like they paid them literally before the game, just like, it's like old wreck ball, just like at the ⁓ fields. Yeah. So I don't know what the gatefuse are going for this weekend. I really honestly don't now granite. Boomba park ⁓ beautiful. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. ⁓ huh. Right at the coin flip. Jason Corley: It's absolutely gorgeous. What, what an incredible complex. the fields are immaculate. The location is perfect. It's just beautiful, beautiful thing, but I don't know what the gate fees go for it. Cause I can tell you what they didn't go for Jacob. You know what they didn't go towards? You didn't go towards baseballs. They did not go towards baseball. So we had this and I'm going to give we, you know what I realized the other day, you and I give a lot of credit to PG. Like there's a lot of things that we love. Jacob Moreno: that? ⁓ Jason Corley: about the way they do shit. And one thing that was getting on everybody's nerves this weekend. So we had teams, we had us, we had JSM, SBAX, Golden Prospects, and I think there's another name in their name somewhere. I don't know. We had that team. That was just one team, just in case you missed it. All those I just listed was one team. And then we had SBAX, we had them, and then we had the Scorpions, which if you don't remember, The scorpions were leading. What's going on over there, bud? Jacob Moreno: I don't know, go ahead. No, you're good, sorry. Can you hear that? Jason Corley: It's okay. just cuss somebody out over there to your right. Jacob Moreno: No, there's like, sounds like my dog is dying, but I know it's not my dog, cause he's outside. Oh no, you're good. Go ahead. Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off. Jason Corley: Well, we can't hear it. So yeah. ⁓ that's no, that's no, you didn't cut me off. I cut you off because I seen you look over to your right, pull the headphone back and give it to somebody out over there. There he is. Hey buddy. Jacob Moreno: I say hi, it'd be Jason said hi. Hi. He said, what's up? just got home too from baseball. He was with the varsity team. Jason Corley: What's up, bud? How you doing? Yeah. You can tell by, Did he ride his motorcycle or something? Cause his hair looked like he just got off of the dumb and dumb remote bed. That's right. So, ⁓ we had us and then the scorpions who, if you don't recall, the scorpions were that team that Jacob and I were trying to figure out last week in Houston that were the number one seed going into, I think Monday morning before bracket play started. then was it Sunday and then Jacob Moreno: Alright man, I'm sorry. didn't to cut you off. No, on a Sunday, on a Sunday. then they dropped down all the way. Jason Corley: And then the practice started. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, and once I saw them, then I realized who they were. Cause I recognized their uniforms, one of those things. And I recognized a couple of the kids and the coaches. So, um, yeah, big, uh, their big program. forgot their, their, their big program. Scorpions. Yeah. I mean, they got a lot of teams is what I'm saying. Um, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, anyways, you had, had all these teams. Okay. Jacob Moreno: Okay. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Jason Corley: And especially between our team, can't speak for anybody else, but our team, the S JSM ⁓ SBA X, you, on. ⁓ I'm trying to of how many names are in that one team. the golden prospects, something slash forward with, to the third power Rodriguez. Okay. That team. then. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: And then. Jason Corley: And then SBA X there were, there were a few home runs hit folks. were a few, few home runs hits. When you get these 12 year olds with fences at two 75, uh, there's going to be some balls go into the Palm trees over there. Okay. And, um, my, my thing was, was that after we got there, um, SBA was the first game that morning. And I don't, I think they, I think that, I think they hit. seven or eight home runs in that one game. And I think the umpire started the game with four balls, four baseballs. Okay. Like I'm pretty like he had his pocket full and that's like, was his allocation. That was his allocation for the game. Right. were gone. ⁓ those balls were gone before the first inning was over because it took them an hour and a half to play the first inning. That's how I mean, yeah, that was the game that was 31 to one. So what I'm getting at is, this, okay. you have these parents. Jacob Moreno: That's it. Yeah Ugh. Jason Corley: paying a lot of money to not just travel, but to pitch in to pay to register for these, for these tournaments. Okay. The very least you could do is not bitch and moan about parents keeping home run balls. That's the very least you could do. And I am going to give credit to PG because PG does not do this shit. PG has their PG person behind home plate, keeping score with a box of balls there. There's a dozen box. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, they got at least two dozens of balls. Jason Corley: Right. And they're, they're only a walking distance away from the canopy where they can get another dozen balls and they put their logos on them for the kids. Like hit this one in a PG event. Like they do it right. These U-triples, I don't think this is a Ripken thing because this tournament was, was ran by U-triple S-A. Like the officials walking around had U-trip shirts on, not Ripken. Jacob Moreno: Or they just text or pager or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jason Corley: Now the kid filming was a Ripken and a contractor, but outside of that, this was all you triple SA. I do it. got to the point where the umpires were getting so mad. They were getting so frustrated and they were like asking us for baseballs and other teams for baseballs. And we're just, had to go to the umpire specifically asked me, me, just me three times over the weekend to go knock on the door for balls three times. And the last time I was like, you know, you really, you've asked me three times, right? And he goes, I'm sorry, sir. goes, but I don't know what to do. I'm like, well, I can tell you what to do. Tell them to give you a dozen ball. There should be a bucket of balls here. If you're going to have these type of teams here hitting home runs, because I can promise you every time we K we hit a home run, we didn't give the ball back. So HUD came home with what? Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, but how many, I guess in their defense, how many balls do you really need after one home run or two home runs? Jason Corley: I don't give a shit all 12 if we hit 12. How many of all people are the wrong person to be asking that question because you are a baseball whore. You are a Jacob Moreno: Yeah, but I wait till after the game. I know, no, no, no, I get what you're saying, but that's a perfect game of that, we know they got balls. Jason Corley: This was a Ripken event. This was a, this was a Ripken qualifier. So. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, I mean, no, this was a U-S-S-A event. And I understand it, but it ran by U-S-S-A. So, them don't, I mean, even in Florida always wanted their balls back, whether we hit home runs or not. Jason Corley: This was a ripped in qualifier. They got a free ticket. I get it. I understand. agree with you. And I'm saying, that shit. Like knock it off. I'm just saying like, if we don't know where the gate fee going, at least put the gate fee money towards baseballs in. All I'm saying is, is going forward, knock this shit off. Like, because thankfully PG doesn't do this. I would like to see U-triple-S-A, USA baseball, Ripken, whoever else, knock it off with being stingy in the baseballs. If my kid, after that first home run that HUD hit, I go, Jacob Moreno: No, I get it. Yeah. Jason Corley: The umpire said, where'd the baseball go? And Dom, you know, Dom looked over and he goes to his dad. I go, yeah, to his dad. Cause that might be the only one he hits all year. Now, granted he had a great week and he hit more, each one of those is coming. Each one of those was off a different kid in a different team. In a different moment. So I don't know. I am never going to subscribe to the fact that, how many is enough? single one of them is go. I want on that shelf behind me. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Yeah. Jason Corley: Cause those are moments that we'll never ever be able to replay again in our lives. So if they're going to be that stingy, then they need to figure it out because I just. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, get with the ball supplier and start getting more balls. Jason Corley: There's you have you have you have Boomba as your supplier. Why don't we throw Rawlings in on that or Wilson and throw you like it just so that's that was just frustrating. It was something that and it wasn't just me. Like there was a lot like everybody was getting irritated with it because the balls were flying out of the park. You know, I mean, it was a great weekend to hit baseballs at that park. I don't know what it was. I don't know if it was the humidity. I don't know what it was. I know that the turf was hot. So you had heat, you know, coming out of off the turf. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, rising, yeah. Jason Corley: Yeah, a lot of that stuff. anyways, ⁓ yeah, as far as, ⁓ as far as Sunday goes, we ran into ⁓ ⁓ an absolute juggernaut. So, we had a parent come up to us after we played our 10 o'clock game, to get to the semi-finals. Do you know, did you look, did did we finish up fourth or third? Jacob Moreno: force. Jason Corley: So we finished fourth. Okay. So four out of 10. All right. So, yeah. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. That's still good. That's good for the first tournament, That's good for the first tournament. I mean, usually we come into teens going down to Houston. Jason Corley: Yeah, yeah, we just. Yeah, no, yeah, we do. And that was an easier trip to, that was an easier trip to, guess, to, get your feet wet. I felt like that was, I felt like it was a great decision that we made to go there. I really did. Cause we got to play good baseball. First of all, our first two games were great, great warmup games. And then it got to put us in a position for Sunday against JSM to see where we're at and to see, you know I mean? To see what's coming down the pipe for us to the year. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Jason Corley: because is not going to be the last time we see JSM. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: No, that's the number five team in the country too. Jason Corley: Yeah. And they're going to be in East Cobb a lot. Probably every time we're there, they're probably going to be there. So. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, I'm sure. mean, everybody's, I think we're at the age group now where you guys are all just going to follow each other to the big tournaments. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. I, yeah. mean, we're not going to see a lot of the Houston teams coming over until, you know, the world series, ⁓ in beast to the East and stuff like that. But we're not even going to the BCs cause didn't qualify for it. you ⁓ that, ⁓ that what it is. ⁓ I did see, did you see that, ⁓ more rankings came out, updated rankings came out. Did you see that? Yeah. Did you see that? Yeah. I think we ended up in their honorable mention. Jacob Moreno: Yep. Through TBS? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you did. But I mean, that has to do with probably not going to Houston. Jason Corley: Yeah, and then. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Jacob Moreno: Like, I mean, I'm sure that's what, and then how the fall, you know, how fall ended. I'm sure. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. And then there, we didn't even make the other one. We didn't even make the list for the other one. Um, I don't remember which one it was. It was the other, the other was it TBR. We didn't even make that one. So it'll be the last, it'll be the last time I say anything good about that, about that. I'm just joking. Just joking. Like I'm pretty sure I thought I went like above and beyond to defend their asses and they didn't even, they didn't even throw us out of it. So noted. Yep. Noted. Noted. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ TBR. I know I saw that. I'm like... Hahaha! Yeah, I'm get no love. Yeah. Jason Corley: It's a future podcast. Yep. Yep. The only rankings that matter are PG folks. I'm sorry. Was that out loud? ⁓ I didn't mean that out. Jacob Moreno: So how was the rest of the tournament? were the rest of the teams? Jason Corley: Um, didn't get it. It was hard to get a chance to watch much of them. mean, the scorpions obviously did great. They made it to the finals. beat, you know, SBA. Um, so, you know, they ended up playing JSM in the final. Um, so I don't know if, I don't know if SBA just ran out of gas, ran out of arms or what happened, but, uh, that. Yes, the rebels. Yeah. The rebels, they, yeah, they lost to the scorpions. So the scorpions played JSM in the finals. Jacob Moreno: all that other SBA rebels. Yeah. Jason Corley: ⁓ so, ⁓ but yeah, as far as that goes, man, I don't know you and I talked and we got yelled at because we were on the road and we were driving and we were frustrated and Lindsay yelled over and said, Jacob Moreno: I wasn't frustrated, you were frustrated. Yeah. On the pod, yeah. Jason Corley: No, Lindsay was frustrated. Lindsay was frustrated that we weren't having this on the podcast. So she was like, this is why you started the podcast is to have these conversations over there. ⁓ and she was right. So, yeah, we have got two different points of view. Let's get into it. I I have come off the ledge slightly, ⁓ not the way, but I have come off the ledge. I just, I have an issue with this and my is, is that this, so first of all, Jacob Moreno: So let's get into it. Jason Corley: Next weekend when we're in Georgia, what is that tournament? What I know it's a PG event, but what is it? What is it? Is it, well, it's not an NIT. It's not, it's just a tournament, right? It's just a, okay. It's just a tournament. means nothing. Right. Okay. Like, like it doesn't go towards points for any for PGI or an. Jacob Moreno: What's it called? No, no, no, no, no. Yes. Mm-hmm. No. I mean, I'm sure you still get points PG points, but Jason Corley: Yeah, but it's not an NIT or any of that stuff. Okay. Okay. Okay. Good. Good. Cause it's going to make my argument even better now. So the reason why I'm asking is, is because this last weekend was a national qualifier for the Ripken All-Star Village. Okay. So the winner of that event got free entry into the All-Star Village tournament, which is two weeks before we go to dreams park for Cooperstown. Okay. So my issue is this. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, no, it's not a super regional or nothing. Jason Corley: You have teams like us, have teams like the scorpions, you have teams like team Orlando, Florida elite. You have all these teams that enter these tournaments and that are in hopes of, making a run. I'll even give the rebels cause I don't even know. I don't even know who all was on the rebels that might've been different. They might've, they might've had a completely, completely foster child full of, of Ross. ⁓ I'm sure. Yeah, ⁓ I'm sure. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, I get what you're saying, they might have been deroster. Jason Corley: I'm not sure because I didn't know who that team was. Thought I did, but I'm not sure. team? Jacob Moreno: ⁓ who thought they really were. my Jason Corley: right. So anyways, this is making my point. Okay. I don't know ⁓ I don't know who these teams are. I honestly don't. So ⁓ I have known of JSM ⁓ SBA X. I've known of this team for now, I think two years, three like they're in a lot of places. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: ⁓ second season. Jason Corley: This is their second season. Okay. I thought that this team coached by Xavier was Xavier. It's not even the same Xavier total two totally different human beings. I it was the Xavier who coaches the 13 U team. That's who I thought we were facing. Okay. Well, we go to play, we go to play this, this JSM team ⁓ and half these kids that are going out to warm up plus. Jacob Moreno: No. Jason Corley: extra coaches. Now, before I get into this, dude, I want to make sure that I, I want to make sure that's perfectly clear. I have nothing, nothing but respect for coach Xavier, coach Rodriguez, and all the other coaches that were part of this fee, this thing that was happening over the weekend. I, the Sears, my kid would be honored to play for any of you. So that is, I am not mad at the teams. I am not mad at the coaches. I am mad at the system. Does that make sense? Am I making myself clear? I'm frustrated at the recipe that all these teams get. I'm frustrated at the groceries that all these teams get to go and make their own recipes with of however they want to. They get to just pull this flavor and this flavor and this flavor and make their dinners with it. Okay. That's what I'm frustrated with because you had kids from the golden prospects. You had kids from SBA bolts and you had kids from JSM. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Jason Corley: all coming together to whip everybody's ass and take the seed and to take that free entry away from Cooperstown All-Star Village by winning that tournament. And that's what was frustrating me. And I was not the only one that even, I was not even the maddest. Like there were way more parents than me pissed off about this saying that they, know, that they, I had parents come up to me saying they respected so much. of how we went about our weekend and that we are still the same core group. ⁓ think the one, I think the one dad said, goes, goes, I recognize seven of you guys out there right now, cause we've dropped, you know, obviously some kids. And I just, it's just, yeah, not just some kids, but I mean, ⁓ well, mean, we've lost Peyton. Well, we've Peyton, we lost Brantley, we've lost Paxton. ⁓ You know, we've, know, we've lost a handful of kids. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Not just some kid. my kid yeah Yeah. Jason Corley: And it's just one of those things where we were having a conversation on the fire. And I said, and I know, I know for a fact, you're not the only one that disagrees with me because even Pat Robinette disagrees with me because he made it clear sitting around the fire that, you know, that he's like, well, he's like, I've listened to every one of them. goes, I agree mostly with what you guys say. He goes, but I do disagree with some of what you say. And I guarantee you he disagrees with this because Andrew plays on like three different teams. He plays a T3 Warhawks, us and USA Prime. So not everybody's going to agree with me, but I just have a problem with it. Like. Jacob Moreno: Well, why? Why though? Explain. What's the problem with it? I mean, if your team's not playing on a weekend, you could do it too. Jason Corley: But I don't. I don't because I don't think it's, don't. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ yeah, but that's because, because that's, I mean, that's because you choose not to. Jason Corley: I know, but I mean, at same time, like I'm going to be a walking, talking hypocrite right here, right now. Okay. I'm giving you billboard that says I am, I'm a hypocrite because next weekend you guys might need HUD down in Georgia. ⁓ ⁓ ⁓ doesn't, that tournament doesn't mean anything. Like that's a non. Jacob Moreno: But neither, mean, okay. So just because Golden Prospects, JSM, but that's what I'm saying. But that's what I'm saying. The Golden Prospects, JSM, ⁓ I don't even know who else you said that that team was. ⁓ like, I mean, just, so my kid's not playing and then that coach calls me. Yeah, of course I'm going to go play. Jason Corley: Why didn't Golden Prospects then come to the tournament? Why didn't they enter the tournament? even know I think I made I think I'm gonna open ⁓ a rhythm Jacob Moreno: Even better if it's better if it's for Cooperstown. Now let's say, ⁓ many you want, as many as you can afford. Jason Corley: But how many coupons can you go to? No, but I'm seeing like, that's what I'm saying though. Like I know Robinette's going to go to two. Jacob Moreno: But if the Golden Prospects going to Cooperstown, then what's the matter? If JSM Elite's not going to Cooperstown, what's the matter? Now you're with a team that is gonna go. Jason Corley: then why don't you just stay with that team for the rest of year? Why do you gotta bounce back and forth? The bouncing back and forth is what I have a problem with, Jacob. I don't have a problem if you wanna go be a golden prospect tomorrow, then go be a golden prospect, but I don't think you should be able to do this all season long. Jacob Moreno: But what if they're not playing? Yeah, but if the golden prospects aren't playing, why can't you go play for another team? That's not a problem. mean, if you want to keep playing baseball, I mean, at ⁓ Go do it. You can afford to. Jason Corley: I don't I Okay, then why didn't he go play for team Orlando? Team Orlando could have used him a whole lot more than JSM. Jacob Moreno: Maybe Team Orlando didn't have the contact. You also gotta remember, man, some of these kids, they all started together with these coaches, and then they all branched out and did their own thing. And obviously they keep the Rolodex. Jason Corley: Well, yeah, no shit. No shit to Rolodex. I it's all... gonna watch my words. I'm not gonna say it. Jacob Moreno: So I, I mean. So, have at it. Jason Corley: I just, have a problem with it. Jacob Moreno: the more they marry. mean, you can't be mad at them. Be mad at the sister. No, no, no. That's what I'm saying. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Jason Corley: I'm not mad at them. I'm mad at the system. I'm mad at the system. Like that's the thing. I love those kids. I that my kids get to play with those kids at some stage of their life. You know what mean? At the next level. ⁓ never know. I'm not mad at them. I'm not even mad at, and I'm not mad at the parents, because the parents are obviously giving the kids, I'm mad at this system that we don't have, like no wonder the NIL in the portal is as effed up as it is. Like it's no wonder that this, ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Jason Corley: All this stuff trickles all over the place. It all, it all influences everything because like, I, guess to me, I would love to see a max of, I know, I know Sean's rolling, rolling over right now. He's rolling his eyes with the pickup portal because we're I'm completely, I'm completely dismantled. guess dissing his entire business profile and I don't mean to be, and I'm sorry, but I got to get this off my chest. Like I think there should be a cap. Jacob Moreno: Going again. Jason Corley: of how many, I know you already, I already know your response to this and I don't have a rebuttal. I don't. But what I'm saying is, is that like, I feel like there should be a cap of how many teams you can be rostered with. I know. I don't know. One. One is the cap. One. And if you're gonna, if you're gonna, if you're going to like here ⁓ a perfect world, you get to be rostered with one team. ⁓ if you're going to roster with another team, you gotta play up. Jacob Moreno: So what's in your head, what's the cap? No. No. No. Well, if you're going to roster another team, you could just go as a guest player. Jason Corley: you I just, have a, like you've got the system all worked out. Yeah. You've got it figured out. You know how to use it. I'm just saying that don't like the system. I don't like it. Like I think the JSM, I think the JSM should have showed up with JSM and that's what they should have done. And they should have left the kids that they brought in on the team. they couldn't. What? Then I guess they couldn't come just like the golden prospects couldn't have come. That's what I'm saying. Jacob Moreno: No, I get it. I get it. let's say. But what if their full team couldn't come that weekend? Jason Corley: If you can't field your team, if you can't field your team, why do you get to go cherry pick to fill a team? Jacob Moreno: But they're from Florida. because they picked up kids from Florida. It's not like they went. Jason Corley: Then where are their kids? So where's the rest of their kids? Their kids weren't good enough to come? Jacob Moreno: But what I'm saying is what if they couldn't? Prior commitments or what now? Jason Corley: And I guess you can't enter the tournament, Jacob. That's the point. You could you just told me you said you said, I guess the Golden Prospects couldn't come. No shit. OK. They couldn't come because half their half their teams with the other team. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Well, obviously they, so if they, so, you're going to, so you're going to know, but what if the golden, this, what if this wasn't on the prospects schedule, but it was for SBA JSM. Jason Corley: You are, I mean, I swear to God, dude, you are pulling all you're pulling them all out of your pocket right now. Jacob Moreno: Dude, I'm giving you all the scenarios. mean, it is what it is, man. This is that loophole. This is that 501C3 loophole. Jason Corley: I just feel like a JSM criticism. Well, we don't know. We don't know what they are. I don't know. Jacob Moreno: No, no, I'm not saying the team is, but the loophole that teams use it for, that's what this is. It's another loophole. But you can't be mad. can't be upset that they went ahead. Jason Corley: I'm kidding. ⁓ I'm allowed to be upset. am upset. I'm pissed off. I don't like it. I'm allowed to be you can't tell me how to feel. Jacob Moreno: so be mad but Jason Corley: Yeah. I'm just mad because I feel like if you can't feel, if you can't come to that tournament with your team that you've had rostered for the fall and that you started the season with, if you can't come to the tournament because you don't have enough kids to go to that tournament, then don't come. Then don't come. Don't go cherry picking other teams just so you can come in and win the bid. If the golden prospects didn't have enough families to get on board to make that tournament, they didn't show up. Jacob Moreno: But what if. But what if, let me throw you something here. What if another team only is gonna play a select amount of events together? And this wasn't on our schedule. Jason Corley: You can just pick the biggest ones and go to those and just. Jacob Moreno: That's what they, I mean, it sounds like they, they did. Jason Corley: The Wildcatters don't do that. SBA Bolts don't do that. No, I am comparing it. I am comparing it because then, so then when we go to the World Series and we go to the PGI and we go to Cooperstown, those are the, so then the kids from the Golden Prospects don't get to go because team and their coaches are over here with this. Jacob Moreno: I'm nuts. and then they'll be there. No, no, no, what I'm saying is I'm gonna say probably Golden Prospects will be at the World Series, the PGI, the Beast of the East or whatever, you know what I mean? ⁓ Jason Corley: So then they won't have that kid on those kids on the SBA. It does it folks. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, probably. They probably won't. But once again, but once again, like we talked on the phone the other day, this is a U-S-S-A roster. This isn't a perfect game roster. So what if this team is a U-S-S-A team? And then they have a perfect game. They have a PG team. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. have two dogs. I have two dogs. have a Labrador at home and I have a Cocker freaking spaniel at work and they don't know about each other. And yeah, one of them is a work dog and one of them is a work dog and one of them is a home dog. Jacob Moreno: I mean, I'm just, I mean, you and I, you and I had this, we had this conversation the other night on the phone. I mean, one's a perfect game roster, one's a U-Triple-S-A roster. If you're gonna say you can only, let's say, in perfect world only roster on three, then is it three on perfect game? Because then I can go do three more in U-Triple-S-A. Now you're at six teams. Jason Corley: Yeah, I just I don't like it. I just that's it just comes down to the fact that I don't like it I don't think it's healthy. I don't think it's healthy for the boys But what do I but what? Dude because I don't because I think there's something to going through the grind it with with with your group I think there's something to that I think I don't think that it's healthy to jump all over the country and in sleeping ⁓ six different beds in six different hotels I don't think that's healthy Jacob Moreno: Why not though? Why not? I'm just asking. Jason Corley: But that's just me. But what do I know? I clearly suck at this. I'm saying, mean, clearly I don't, clearly I'm not doing it right. Clearly, clearly I don't have my son asking me which Jersey with which team am I playing for this weekend, dad? Like I, that's just not how we're doing it. And now I'm not going to do it. So it's fine. It's there's, that's why there there's Coke and Pepsi. And that's just, I mean, there's just different ways. I'm just saying that I didn't like how it, how it played out for an event that had such ramifications as it had. That's all. If this would have been next weekend, In Georgia, I wouldn't have given probably two shits as much, but this ramped up my give a shit a whole lot more because it was a bid for Cooperstown. And then they had the audacity to name the MVP of the whole tournament, that kid that doesn't even play on their team. Like, I was like, dude, seriously, like you guys are so tone deaf to the parents that are out here doing this. So it's fine. I mean, it's fine. It's it's you guys do what you want to do. That's fine. We're still going to play. Jacob Moreno: Yep. Jason Corley: We're still going to pay. We're still going to show up. is what it is. I just don't like it. I don't think it's healthy. I don't think it's a good idea. And I don't think it teaches them anything. So whatever, you know? Yeah. I mean, if, if, ⁓ if anybody can jump and do whatever they want to do, then have at it. It's, it's your prerogative. So I don't, I don't care. I'm over it. Jacob Moreno: But we've been sick. Jason Corley: I, mean, I know, I know you laugh at me because so, ⁓ because I'm so adamant about it, but it's just like, ⁓ Jacob Moreno: But we've been seeing it since 9U. Jason Corley: I'm literally doing exactly right now with you on this call that I did with you on the phone. I'm not, can attest to this. I'm just pissed off today as I was then. I know that's why you laughed. You laughed when we were sitting on the tailgate and we talked about this shit. I hate it. Like I just don't, I'm just not a fan of it. Like, and it has nothing to do with the resources. If I wanted to stress out about it, I could have HUD. Jacob Moreno: I know you are that's why I'm laughing. That's why I'm laughing. That's why I'm laughing because that was Jason Corley: I'm 17, however many teams you want to have on, if I want to do every weekend and go get the flavor of the week. But that's literally what it's turned into. It's turned into the ice cream shop and the flavor of the week. Who do you want to go with? Okay, let's go. Feeling sure, Bert? Well, let's give her a lick. So. my God. What? ⁓ Jacob Moreno: because you know what, I'm laughing right now and that's what I did the other day on the phone and I know it pissed you off even more because I was laughing and then all I heard was, we're gonna save this for the podcast, I gotta go, bye. Jason Corley: Yeah. Because I know that we were, we both represent completely different sides of the aisle. There's a lot of people that agree with you and there's a lot of people that agree with me. And I, this is a man, this is just, and I know Sean don't call. I don't care what you have to say right now. Okay. I don't care what the pickup portal has to say and how many openings are. So I don't want to know. I just, I you, but don't call. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Sean, Sean, just can you just give him a pass this time? He's a little, my elf is a little angry right now. Jason Corley: I'm telling you what, dude. So yeah. So. Yeah. at the same time, here's again, at the same time, I'm doing this exact thing next weekend with both of my boys. But I guess maybe I feel like, I feel like less of a hypocrite because I'm playing, ⁓ I'm staying in the organization at least. And ⁓ Jacob Moreno: I don't know, man, I just... You're staying in the organization. Jason Corley: Brooks is playing up, so he's playing harder competition. Hud is not really getting to play. I'll be real honest you. said today that he's gonna roster him, but he does not, he bring his stuff, but I can't promise you he's even gonna play. And if he does, we might throw him or we might stick him in the outfield. And I was like, well, you can do whatever you wanna do. My kid's always gonna show up to play, but if you don't need him, he's gonna be at the 10s. And he's gonna be in there dug out helping his little brother. So. You know, but I get it. Like I'm, I'm a walking, talking hypocrite when it comes to this, cause there is no difference because just because the, the, the last tournament, no, no, no, no, no, that's not what I was going to say. What I was gonna say is just because the last tournament meant a lot to me. Doesn't mean that Georgia doesn't mean a lot to somebody else. So, you know, and, and, and I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I'm just, I'm just. Jacob Moreno: Just because the organization is the same, it mean... Oh. Yeah. Jason Corley: I'm working through it. just working through it people. ⁓ I don't... mean bro here's the... Jacob Moreno: man. ⁓ need a cigarette break? Jason Corley: first weekend of the year. It's the first weekend of the year and I'm already losing my shit. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Huh? Who are you telling? weekend's not even here. I'm already losing my shit. ⁓ Jason Corley: Oh, the first weekend of the year. And I'm already losing my shit. Hey, I will say this though. So out of, you know, the JSM team, they're so good. They're so good. They're so good. And coach Rodriguez is over there, you know, and he's always so nice and he's so pleasant and he just, he's got such a good family. Jacob Moreno: But you know what? yes, oh, they're a great team. Jason Corley: the white, I'm the whitest of the whites. Okay. In the world. Jacob Moreno: you. Jason Corley: And I love them. love them, you know, and, um, I just, we're great people and I don't, like I said, I'm not faulting them. That's just, I'm faulting the whole system. And it starts with the damn Dodgers. That's who it starts with. The Dodgers started this shit. Um, cause they go out and buy all the free agents. They go out and buy all the free agents. So we're not getting into this because I, my brain's not big enough. I don't, I'm not smart enough to have that conversation. Yeah. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, yeah. Great people, Why? They got the money. It's okay. I don't have that problem either. Jason Corley: But, I was going to say, Hey, listen, I was going to say this though. And that is, that, ⁓ I know that we didn't see all the teams, you know what mean? This, this past weekend, but we saw, we saw three distort. We saw the scrape, the scorpions. We saw a JSM and we saw SBA X. Okay. The rebels, those three teams, the two JSM and SBA, ⁓ rebels X apostrophe. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: I wish my red socks would do it. Yeah. handful. Rebel's blue. Rebel's blue. No, Rebel's blue. Jason Corley: I don't even know. I don't even know folks. ⁓ they were ones they were big kids, big boys, big boys, full of testosterone. Clearly clearly got puberty by, by the gonads. Okay. ⁓ with that being said, with that being said, boys, boys were right with them all day. Like all week, like we put, we put, we Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Mmm, okay. Jason Corley: I don't even know how many, I don't even know how many balls we put over the fence too. You know what I mean? I don't know how many like, wasn't like ⁓ nervous as what I thought I was going to be coming into this year. Like our boys haven't hit that growth stage yet, but they didn't back down. I guess that's the Michigan in them. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, I mean... blue collar, Telling that's what it is. Jason Corley: at that midway. ⁓ like every one of them stood in the, but not a, not a single one of our kids stepped out. You know I mean? Not a single one of the kids stepped out. and you know what I mean by that, you know I mean? There can be an intimidation factor. And I did have a parent come up to me, after our, our quarterfinal game, before we got into the semis, I had a parent come in, come up to me and say, would you please relay this message to the boys? Jacob Moreno: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Jason Corley: You guys look so fluid, which was the first time zombies ever used the word fluid with me. She said, you guys look so fluid and you guys look so sharp from the start of your warmups to the end of the game. And I said, well, thank you. I will pass it along to the boys. I walked right over the dugout. You know how I do it. Walked right over the dugout. Told guy, read all the ⁓ no, I just had a parent come over and talk to me. And I told him. And ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Hey boys, come here. Jason Corley: I was very impressed with our, ⁓ approach to the tournament after seeing, because we had to go when we got there Saturday, bro, we had to sit and watch SBA hit runs and we had to, so, I mean, that can be, that can be a tad intimidating knowing that they're in your pool. You know what mean? So anyways, I know. It was what, what are you laughing about? Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. Cause I feel like you're still like, I could see the smoke just still lingering a little bit out of your ears. Jason Corley: I, I gotta be honest with you. gotta be honest with you. I'm coming down. I'm coming down off of it. Like, yeah, I'm down off of it. that I was able to get it out there and I was able to get it out there ⁓ more ear ears than just yours. Cause sometimes ⁓ we disagree with things, you totally tune me out. ⁓ cause I totally tune you out. Like if I'm like, yeah, it's kind of thing. Right. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ I know you are, but I still see it like. Or I just laugh and it pitches you off even more. Jason Corley: Right, right, right, right. And then it just irritates me and then I got to look for somebody else to dump that on. And hopefully I can find somebody, whoever I dump it on, hopefully they agree with me. Cause then they agree with me. I'm like, yeah, see, I told you. So, know what he's talking about? Um, so yeah, no, but, uh, anyways, um, yeah. Uh, anything else going on anything else with the feedback, uh, from the last time we had a conversation or. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, fuck Jacob, he's wrong. Yeah. Jason Corley: Anything new we got to cover before this weekend? Jacob Moreno: no, but I, I mean, I'm lining up, hopefully somebody that come on and talk to us and that's a high school coach as well. Try coaches travel ball. And just, want to get his perspective on where things have gone and you know I mean? Where he's seeing things and please. mean, if I'm not mistaken, he's got over 300 wins as a high school baseball coach. So, I mean, very knowledgeable and Jason Corley: Okay. Okay, okay, where's he from? Jacob Moreno: No the stuff. Jason Corley: Where's he from? Jacob Moreno: He's from Michigan, a baseball coach. So yeah, I mean, I really haven't got no feedback since the last time. I mean, think it was more our last conversation was more about the tournament and the boys on there having fun. But. Jason Corley: Gotcha, okay. Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah. We, was, it was weird. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ I do, I did get a message, I'm sorry. I did get a message about as a parent how we handle when our kid gets hurt. Jason Corley: What was it? Okay. We did. Hey, listen, that's a good thing because we had a kid get hurt this weekend, but before we do that, Jacob, why don't you tell everybody about our sponsor? Jacob Moreno: And I I was ready this time. This episode is probably brought to you by Barstown Bourbon and Green River Whiskey. There's something about the end of a long tournament day, the sun going down, cleats kicked off, and the parents swapping stories in the hotel lounge. That's where a good pour of Barstown Bourbon delivers that deep layered flavor that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Or maybe a glass of Green River Whiskey. Jason Corley: Thank Jacob Moreno: smooth, dependable, and built on tradition, just like the game we love. Jason Corley: So speaking of, speaking of Bardstown, okay. So Friday night, Friday we're sitting around the fire. got the Bardstown out, got the green river out, sitting there. All the dads are sitting around the fire. Before that, went over to the ABC liquor store. Cause, ⁓ Lindsey wanted some, I don't know, wanted some mom waters or something. I don't remember what they were. And I was like, know what? I'm going to go find them. I'm to go see if they're in here. You know what mean? Uh, when I wanted to go see where walked over and, looked through all of them, like all the, all the bourbon aisle and all the whiskey aisle. And finally I found, I found some green river and it was somewhere in the middle, you know, and it was that, I don't know, is that 40, 40 respectable 45, $49 range. I don't remember what it was. don't remember what it was because folks, it's not just one. Like there's, there's what Jacob there's 50 different styles of green river. So I found it. Jacob Moreno: Mm-hmm. ⁓ yeah. Yep. Jason Corley: But then I look over to my left. sent this video to our sponsor, by the way, look over to my left and there's a glass case. Yeah. There's bottles inside the glass case that are not for public. Like ⁓ don't want public fondling. Okay. Guess what's in there, pal. Jacob Moreno: That Bartstown I Well that's good to know. Jason Corley: Hardstound. I walked over to the glass and I took the phone and I'm like, yep, that one was not in the sponsorship box right there. He laughed. He laughed so hard. He was like, no, it wasn't. No, it wasn't. Jacob Moreno: Hahaha! What response did you get? Let's make it happen. Let's make it. Jason Corley: man, was, yeah, it was, it was a good, I mean, it was beautiful. It was like one, it was like the barstown bottle. It was up there, but it was silver oak, silver oak is what it ⁓ It was barstown silver oak. Pretty sure. So I want to say it was like 150, 160 a bottle, something like that. So I'd to try that. We, ⁓ but we sat around the fire at the hotel ⁓ yeah. And dabbled in the Jacob Moreno: Ooh. That's why we didn't get it. Jason Corley: dabbled in the green river for a while and had some conversations that were fun and interesting. And it's a really good thing that the podcast wasn't rolling. Cause there was a, there were a lot of things that there were a lot of things said that should never be repeated. Yeah. I mean, was best. Yeah. It was best that that one was off the record. So, yeah. But, ⁓ what were you going to say? were going to, you were going to ask, say something about a parent, something about a kid getting hurt. Jacob Moreno: I can just imagine. sure. With that group, I'm sure. Um, I had a parent reach out to me and they've been listening. She's been listening to the podcast and she said that, um, she wants, she wanted to know we were ever talk about how handling the injury, you know, when your kid gets hurt. And I said, Ooh, that's a lie. Just because I'm guessing she said she had a daughter that had an injury in high school that transformed. Jason Corley: I don't, are you, like, handling what? Jacob Moreno: her playing that sport anymore. So I'm guessing, I don't know if it was like a mishandled or a misdiagnosed. Jason Corley: I mean, I had that with, I had that with Jayden in soccer. She never returned to the field after, after her, her knee surgery. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, I mean, I didn't get into death, will, know, message back and I will, just on like handling it as a parent and you know, when to, I'm guessing, I'm guessing when to. come back or whatnot. Maybe I'm going to have to elaborate more. Maybe we have a, maybe on the next podcast, we talk about it when I elaborate. Jason Corley: Yeah, I I don't think there's anything wrong with with talking about it. I think that that's also we'll have to be careful with that one because I think that's ⁓ that's a that is something that you feel out as a parent. Like, I think that that's like individualized between each parent on how they. Jacob Moreno: separate every every injuries different and that family selects I mean that was us Jason Corley: Yeah, dude. Yeah, dude. Because it's not just that, man. You're also talking about some parents have unlimited resources financially and health insurance, and some parents don't have any health insurance. So that's Jacob Moreno: Or some can just pay for it out of pocket and just go in. Jason Corley: Some can go to the, some can fly across the country and have a specialist take care of their kid while somebody's down at the local ER. You know what I mean? Hoping to get some. Yeah. You just, I just, that's a, I think that that's a, yeah. I mean, yes, I get what she's saying. Like she wants, she probably wants some different opinions on, on maybe experiences that we've gone through. ⁓ but I'm not gonna, and I know you're not either. We're not going to tell anybody how to deal with, cause we're not. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, county hospital. Yeah. No, no, not one bit. mean, I can... Jason Corley: I would say the biggest thing that I would, I would key in on this one is, that we're, you know, kids in youth sports, I would say the only thing that is universal is trying to decipher the bullshit factor of like, are you hurt or are you just mad because you're losing? You know what I mean? Cause there's a lot of that that goes down in youth sports where kids Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yep. Jason Corley: kids are things are not going their way. They're sore freaking losers. And yeah, that's it. I didn't even think about that. And that's a really with all pun intended. They're sore losers. that's about the only universal healthcare advice I can give ⁓ just get really good as a parent. You're not doing them any favors by co-signing. Well, no, by co-signing that like ⁓ that your kid is full of shit and it's just saying that they're Jacob Moreno: They're sorry losers. I'll say it. They're sore losers. Yeah. rushing them back. ⁓ yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jason Corley: you know, that they twisted their ankle or that their knee hurts or that, you know, that they're light, lightheaded. That's another famous one in baseball. They're lightheaded or their arm hurts. Like as a parent, you're not doing them any favors by cosigning that and helping them get out of any situation. Like they got to go through it and fail. And if they got to cry in front of their friends and feel a little embarrassed, then they got to go through that. Like that's just that's the only universal health care advice that I can give. Jacob Moreno: their arm hurts or... yeah. and so be it. Jason Corley: of that outside of that it ⁓ injuries are tough because you never. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. I mean, we dealt with it. We dealt with it last year. Jason Corley: You dealt with it last year and you, dude, you're dealing with something. It's not like it's a, it's a break where you're dealing with something that you are dependent upon the imagery from the hospital to tell you what's going on inside. Outside of that, you have got to like, you got to walk this tight rope of eggshells with your kid to be supportive, but yet make sure that it's not a bullshit factor. Yeah. So that's tough. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, be strict about it. Jason Corley: You know, Jayden's thing, ⁓ Jayden's happened, her knee issue happened, her, the end of her junior, no, the beginning of her senior year was in a scrimmage, her senior year of high school. And she had hopes and aspirations of playing college soccer. And she absolutely destroyed her knee in a scrim, in a meaningless scrimmage. And she was out her entire senior season she had a decision to make. Was she going to go through rehab and try to go to some showcases and stuff like that, you know what mean? With her travel team in the summer and make a roster or get an invite to do something. And she just, to her credit, she's like, nope, I'm going to go to school. I'm going to get my degree and I'm done. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, she knew she knew what she wanted already. Yes, that's what I meant. Jason Corley: She knew what she didn't want. She knew what she didn't Yeah. She knew that she didn't want rehab. She knew that she did not. She didn't love it anymore to the level that it was going to require. Does that make sense? So, you know, and then there's other kids that we know that, I mean, we've had kids, there's a kid from the golden Hawks and I don't want to say his name, but there's kids from, up there in Michigan that have had. Elbow surgeries already ⁓ under age of what 16. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Jason Corley: You know what mean? Am I right? Jacob Moreno: I'm thinking in my head who you're talking about. Jason Corley: Gosh, Tommy, remember we all thought it was Tommy John from Hawks Gold? The kid that throws ridiculously hard. Jacob Moreno: No, he's never had surgery. I know him personally. No, he's never had surgery. No. Yes. Yeah. ⁓ you're right. He fractured something. Yes. Yeah. He didn't have. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He didn't. Yeah. He didn't. No, no, no, no. Trust me. That's the. No, I know that kid personally him and Brinkley have played fall ball together like. Jason Corley: Okay, so he didn't have surgery, maybe he would, was he hurt? Okay, okay, okay, okay. So it was hurt. It was out for a while. Well, the rumors were circling that he went and got Tommy John surgery. Welcome to travel baseball drama folks. Yeah. Jacob Moreno: I know dad, he, no, he didn't have time to do it. No, that's why when you said that I was like, hold on, because I was like, I know this kid, you know, fractured, it's hogs gold. I was like, golden hogs, you got this golden in your head for no reason. Jason Corley: And I screwed up by saying Golden Hawk too. It's Hawk's Gold. Yeah. Yeah. The poor golden teams are screwed all year. Hey, bro, I did hear this. Did I tell you? Did you already know this? Did you know who the golden who the golden futures are? Jacob Moreno: But no, no he... Yes. Yeah. Jason Corley: Oh my god! What? Jacob Moreno: But you know what? But you know what? They're not gonna run two names. running under that. The Golden Futures. Yeah. Yeah, they're gonna run under that. They're not gonna run of what they ran under last year. Jason Corley: No, they're the futures. Yeah, they're the futures. They're not the prospect. No, I mean, I know that, but I'm just saying like they, like they jumped ship and went over to the, you know, the collectibles world. so, ⁓ got, Hey, ⁓ talks bullshit walks, right? ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Amen. And they're gonna, I mean, I don't know the, I don't know the sitch. I was gonna say, I don't know the agreement or the sitch, but I mean, they're gonna take care of you. Jason Corley: Yeah, no, I mean, I get it, but I was just like floored when I found this out. I, I think I played it off pretty good as though it didn't like it wasn't sitting there in my call. Just, wouldn't just, chewing on it, but I was chewing on that. Like you hip cut to be shitting. And it's funny because then one of these, the sweetest little kid from the, from the scorpions. All right. So we're finishing up our game with JSM. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ it didn't. Jason Corley: and scorpions get done beating SBA. So they come over to watch the end of our game, you know, and they're all behind, you know, home plate sitting around, you know what mean? And the sweetest little kid, I swear to God, I've never seen a kid. He was like a skinny white version of Brantley. He asked 10,000 questions in about 14 seconds. You know what I mean? Like just the most social kid I've ever seen in my entire life. And he was just like, he's like, you guys in Michigan? We're like, yeah. You know, and we're all of us dads are standing back here. We're getting our asses kicked. Jacob Moreno: Mm. Jason Corley: So we're not in a very, we're not in a very social mood right now, especially not from the team that's going to play in the championship game. And we're sitting back there and this kid's just like, are you guys from Michigan? And we're like, yeah, yeah. Okay. You know that, you know that Kenny, you know that Kenny, I'm just like, I'm like, uh, yeah, yeah. How did they, how did they get to be hit dogs? I'm like, I don't think they are buddy. I don't think they are. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ you don't want to entertain this kid. Jason Corley: And he was like, what? go, I don't know who they are, but they might be somebody different next week. Like, I don't know. You don't even know. I don't know, but oh my God, this kid, he was asking a thousand questions. And then one of the dads come over and they're like, they're like, sorry about that. And we're like, no, no, it's like this kid's clearly like, if there was a development program for future salesmen of America, that kid should be in it. Yeah. That kid would be a super select right there. That one right there. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Him and Brantley would be there. That's funny man. ⁓ man. Yeah. I found that out Jason Corley: So, but ⁓ anyway. Jacob Moreno: Three weeks, four weeks ago, a month ago. I thought I told you. Jason Corley: Okay. No, no. Cause when I, when the information came to me, I was floored. was like, what? like, wait a minute, because you got to understand too. I going to Florida and through the, under the impression that one of them, ⁓ one them other ones was going to be pitching for us. Jacob Moreno: Mmm. Jason Corley: So yeah, get where, do you get what I'm laying down right now? Because yeah, because originally Willie wasn't going to be there because Willie was going to be in hockey, but then they changed their plans and, yeah, they changed their plans because we went to Florida and they, yeah, had parents that weren't happy about that. but, ⁓ yeah, so I was, I was told, ⁓ yeah, ⁓ ⁓ our is just not. Jacob Moreno: Mm-hmm. Your parents can never help you. Jason Corley: not where it should be. yeah, you laugh all you want, but it's just not it's just a fax man. We just we don't have very we don't have good communication with our which thankfully we've got kids that communication doesn't matter. We just tell us where to be. We'll be there. But I was under the impression we were going down there. Willie wasn't going down there and that we were going to pick up ⁓ another kid our program from our program to step ⁓ in. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. Well, not no more. Jason Corley: Yeah, no, no more. that they could make 10. Yeah. Yeah. Nice one, Jacob. We'd apply that one in there. But, uh, Oh, Hey, have a question. Since you just did that to me, are you guys leaving the organization and going to USA prime? I mean, you posted, you posted that. Like, that, is that that means? Is that what that means? You guys are having, you guys are having a little marital, marital dispute between. Jacob Moreno: it What do we... No. No. No, no, we, I mean, we're here. We're, okay. I mean, we're here. I mean, we're here. That picture, that picture, that picture really stirred the pot and boiled over. Jason Corley: who you're committed to and who you're not. I think that's horseshit. No, I don't think you are. I'm just joking with you. Hey, hey, there's bad precedent. Good press, bro. Jacob Moreno: You know? My kid goes, I'm posting this. I said, at it. You can tag me in the picture with it too. ⁓ Jason Corley: Yeah. Right. Yeah. As Sean would say, Sean Holbrook, you can collaborate. Jacob Moreno: was a no we went up there Saturday and we were in their facility ⁓ one of their coaches goes Do you want some gear to train him? Yeah, why not? Jason Corley: Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Jacob Moreno: I mean if the next thing is a $30,000 check, I'll be depositing that bitch tomorrow. Jason Corley: Ha ha ha ha ha ha! as long you're keeping it real, ⁓ ⁓ send your farewell cards too. Yeah. ⁓ Hey, know you are. I'm just giving you shit because you give me shit. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ man, no. No, we're here, man. Yeah, there'll be many of those. ⁓ No, man, we're here. We're here. I I know you are. I know you are. But it's funny you say that because that picture there, when he shared it, I shared it, and his trainer shared it, was Instagram on fire. Jason Corley: Yeah. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: My Instagram was on fire. Brainly don't read his messages because, you know, I run his account. So he knows not to open his messages, but he had several messages from other boys from across the country too. And then I was getting texts then I got a phone call like, I didn't know you were on the national team anymore. Looks like USA prime national, you're going on. I'm like, no, no. I ⁓ Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I want to say this because this is something that, you know, that I said earlier too, that, just my cup of tea, man. Like I know that I get fired up and I get, I dramatic about it. but it's just, it's just our cup of tea. Like I am, I want to make, I want to make this perfectly clear. Okay. And that is, is that everybody has a prerogative and everybody has the ability. and the free will to do whatever they want play who where am I salty because we lost hell yes I am like that's why we do this because it matters what's that Jacob Moreno: I was gonna say that. I was going to say that earlier, but you were so fired up. I think you would have came through the screen and choked me up. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah, like, I mean, I mean, a lot of it is the competitive nature in me that it's frustrating, but at the same time, everybody has their free will to do and make whatever decision they want to make for the best interest of themselves, their child, their club, their, their state, their country. I, yes, I just get irritated with it and it just fires me up and it makes for a good podcast. Okay. ⁓ I would rather, I would rather have the conversation here than have it out loud in front of a bunch of kids. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, no, yeah. Jason Corley: and make it sound like I'm pissed off at other kids and other families when I'm not. I love them. I'm envious as shit of them. So don't ever make like, yes, like I'm envious of the situation that you have and that you can run ass through everybody. You know what I mean? Of course I am because I'm competitive and so is my kid. But the funny thing is, that it bothers me way more than it bothers him. Oh my God, he could care less. He's like, yeah, we got beat. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. than it does your kid, yeah. HUD hour after the game was probably over ready to get home. Jason Corley: He was over it. He was just over it. and that's the difference in the DNA where he's going to end up being successful and I'm stuck doing a podcast with my fat friend. I mean, I don't know. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Goddamn! I won't be fat for long. I won't be fat for... Yes sir! Jason Corley: I know you're not playing a fitness shot out, but I want to say this is that, ⁓ it just goes back to something that Harrison told me a while back. you know, Harrison said to me, he said, don't ever undervalue. And I actually brought this up this weekend. Don't ever undervalue. Going through the grind with your boys. Like he didn't want, he doesn't want HUD. Jacob Moreno: No. Jason Corley: to undervalue like he doesn't want HUD to ever get in a position where HUD thinks that there's more value to top of the hill than it is to come through ⁓ climate up with like through all of the hurdles with your group of dudes. we, I'm yes, I've made this mention before and no, Brantley's not with us, but Brantley has been with us and Brantley hasn't left the organization. He's still here. Jacob Moreno: Climbing up. Yeah. Jason Corley: And at any moment he could be back or one of ours could go back. We don't know at any moment, Hudson can get in there and we could be going through it still with you guys. So there's just, think to me that's the, it's the sentimental side of it of like going through it with your dudes. And it's like, I never see the same group of dudes on these bigger teams, except for the wildcatters, the wildcatters do it right. Like an SBA. Yes. Yes. Jacob Moreno: No. them and SBA. I mean, I'll give it to SBA because they've kept the core, you know, probably six, seven, eight guys the same. Jason Corley: Yes. Yeah. And I know that we're leaving other ones out. It's just, we're just not that familiar with them. You know what mean? But like DK is going to do that now. You know what I mean? Like Jay and DK nationals are going to do that now. Like they're going to go through it the rest of the way with the, the, the grind. So I don't, I get, I get animated and I get pissed off about it, but it's just, it's just me as a dad because I want them to be successful. And I know that it's going to be. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yep. Jason Corley: Damn near impossible with the way that the system is set up. So don't don't take my animation as though I am I'm just frustrated with the system. Damn it. Frustrated with the system. I'm frustrated with the tax. Throw the tea in the ocean. ⁓ Like, yeah, well, I was going to say something else, too, and I forgot I forget what I was going to say, but I was going to say something along the lines of. Jacob Moreno: It was just frustration. Hehehehehe ⁓ Jason Corley: shit i don't remember i don't remember i don't know i don't know there's gonna be something but it doesn't matter Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Let's do it. Jason Corley: I had it. I had this like, I had this like little itinerary in my brain of like three things to cover quick before we say goodbye. And that was one of them, but that overtook all the other shit in my head. I know what it was. I think that I can, I think that I can get to the nitty gritty with your attitude towards this. If you answer me one question and one question, Okay. Did root for Mexico or USA last night? I'm sorry, I didn't hear that. I didn't hear that. Jacob Moreno: I'm an American, but I'm also Mexican. Jason Corley: What? I'm just. give me a goddamn answer. Which one did you report? ⁓ guarantee you Brantley had that Mexican headband on last night watching the game Jacob Moreno: I didn't root for neither, honestly. No, but we did pull it out. No, man, in all honesty, we rooted for America. We rooted for the US. you're 100 % right, but even with that, it's like... Jason Corley: I know I'm just giving you It's hard not to root for all of them. That's the problem I mean, the easy ones are, I'm not rooting for Italy. I'm not rooting for Great Britain. I'm not rooting. Jacob Moreno: You're not. Yeah, no, no, no, no, I'm staying on the Western hemisphere of this world, like. Jason Corley: Yeah, no, but I mean, bro, if we get to the situation where USA is playing the Dominican, is, you know what mean? Like, Jacob Moreno: ⁓ you know what? I'm a Dominican papi. Jason Corley: No, I'm saying like what an amazing thing for baseball. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ yeah, yeah, if you can leave it on the Western atmosphere. Yeah, ⁓ yeah, that's a great look for baseball. Jason Corley: If we can just eliminate Japan, mean, they don't need it. Shohei does not that that continent does not need. They don't. If we can ignite this ship between the Western or the Southern and the Northern hemisphere, will be incredible for our game. Incredible, incredible. Jacob Moreno: He's done enough. He's done enough for that. Yeah, yeah man, even if you can get a Puerto Rico Dominican game, a Puerto Rico Mexico, to me, that's very good, that's all lies. You know what I mean? Jason Corley: Dude, was seven, that crowd was 75 25 last night, Mexico. It was incredible. And I don't know who would have ever thought that it was a wise idea to host that thing in, in Houston. Come on. Have you never been to the Houston metropolitan area? No, I know that's why they did it. Yeah. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ I know. I know. But you gotta remember that's why they did it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you know, mean, so, you're looking on Facebook and Instagram. Jason Corley: They didn't have no games in New York? They didn't have no games in Boston? Yeah. Jacob Moreno: No, Miami, Miami, you know, but just watching it. Jason Corley: I know those dome dome those dome fields too. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, and it's cold. It's cold to come up north. Jason Corley: Yeah, I know. I know. I know. Jacob Moreno: But yeah, I mean, watching that, saw a lot of people I knew went to that game last night. A lot of, in Houston, yeah. Jason Corley: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Yeah. It was just, it's, it's, it's going to be, ⁓ it's going to be an interesting final few days as things unfold. I think that it's, I think that it's cool that they're not Jersey swapping and shit. They're not broing it up. I think that that's really cool that they're keeping it like Kyle Raleigh, you know, refused to shake hands with or whatever. Yeah. You're not going to kick Kyle Raleigh, the big dumper in his face. Jacob Moreno: Yeah, that's bullshit. I would have kicked him in his face. out of picked up dirt, out of picked up dirt. Jason Corley: No you're not. Jacob Moreno: Ha Jason Corley: He did that to Kiki Hernandez, is that who he did it to he didn't dab him up I think it was Kiki. I don't remember Jacob Moreno: I think so. No, no, no, Randy, Randy Rosarino. Yep, yep. Jason Corley: Rosarina. That's what it was. That was what it was. Yeah. But then it happened another time too. I don't remember who it was, but it happened. ⁓ Will Smith Buster was it Will Smith in the last one didn't do it and it caused a rock and stuff. Yeah. So, and then some of these guys, dude, how about that freaking Roman, ⁓ that from. ⁓ No, no, no, no. The lefty hitter on the U S for from Boston. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. Brazil, that 17 year old. ⁓ yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Roman Anthony Jason Corley: Roman. Roman Anthony. Holy. Dude, dude. Yeah, I know that 17. And then did you see the guy from Italy last night? The professional electrician through four and a half. ⁓ that's awesome. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Yeah. He had to use PTO to come to play. Yeah, he had to use his vacation to play. And what about that man dude, that 17 year old that broke Aaron Judge's bat? Double play. He's ⁓ from Georgia. Yeah, he's from Georgia. Jason Corley: No, he did not. That's hilarious. Jesus. my. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's going to, it's, it's going to get good. is he? Okay. Okay. That's impressive. I also think it's impressive too. Like for those of you that haven't been paying attention to this and for those of you travel parents out there, ⁓ matter what sport you're in. don't forget. Aaron judge was never invited to any of this shit as a junior. So just take that. ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Don't tell them that. Just keep, just keep giving them the money and go. Jason Corley: Just, mean, is, is judge the only one that wasn't on a junior team growing up? There's not very, I tried to Google it and it couldn't no Bryce was Bryce was a big part of the junior team. Cause there's, there's cards of him out there. So Bryce is out there. Skeens is out there. They got, Kershaw is out there. Will Smith. Yeah, they had a picture. Yeah, they had a picture of skeens. Yep. And his junior, and he looks, he ⁓ a big. Jacob Moreno: I... Maybe... Maybe Bryce Harper? Was skeet, no, was skeet on there, on the junior team? Did you see what he did? Jason Corley: He had a big post about kids not giving up, you know, in the dream of like, you know, when he was, I don't know, on the junior team, but I don't know. Shout out to all the, we'll make it. Jacob Moreno: He had that Air Force, he brought all the Air Forces baseball team out. That's sweet. Jason Corley: Yeah, that's cool. Yeah. How about Roman Anthony at the last one was bought a ticket with his minor league buddies and sat up in the bleachers. And now just hit one out there last night. Yeah. So, all right, man, let's get out of here. We don't have to have these things. Don't have to be 90 damn minutes every time. So, Jacob Moreno: Yeah. And now he hit one out there, Yeah, so... What do you got planned this week? Jason Corley: Let's see Brooks has got his last basketball game Saturday. So we're not going to Columbus to practice on Saturday. So we will hit it hard and we can hit it hard here locally now that the weather's breaking. So, I told we have turf fields and as long as we go over when they're not being used, we can use them. ⁓ also, ⁓ I, know, HUD, HUD is feeling good about the work that we're doing. So that's translating to Brooks. Brooks is like, okay, well that shit's working for big brother. So. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ you guys got turf yields. That's good. Jason Corley: whatever dance. Yeah. So, ⁓ excited to see, but, huddle, keep throwing to Brooks, keep getting his bull pens in. HUD's really enjoyed, you know, really enjoyed throwing last weekend and through good. So he's got his confidence. Yeah. Throwing his confidence up and, yeah. So, and then, ⁓ we'll go to, Brooks has got basketball and then, ⁓ we'll get right back into the routine, you know, Tuesday, Thursday and leave. Jacob Moreno: Now it's gonna be his turn and. Yeah, he threw real good. Jason Corley: Friday for Georgia and see you in Georgia. So, yeah, we'll, um, I don't know. Will the world baseball classic be over by the time we know that's the 17th, isn't it? It's a couple of weeks next week, like next Wednesday, it's over something like that. So, yeah. Jacob Moreno: Yes, sir. No. Yep. Jason Corley: on. I'm not sure what we'll talk about on Sunday, but we are going to talk about something that has to do with you guys calling into the brand new TDP. Hit dog hotline. That's right. The hotline is sponsored finally by Hit Dogs. yeah, so we are thrilled to finally be sponsored by our own organization ⁓ and ⁓ they ⁓ wanted to be part of this some way, somehow. ⁓ And it was a perfect fit for them to be of the Hit Dog Hotline. So. That's what you'll be calling in to from now on. And, ⁓ we really, really appreciate that. And, ⁓ we'll do something, we'll do something in the next couple of days to announce it and strike up a conversation and see if we can't get five or six phones, phone calls to come in and also, and then respond to those, ⁓ topic. So, you know, there's, ⁓ a lot of people that have, there's a lot of people that have started season now. So I'm sure there's a lot of, a lot of things. ⁓ ⁓ Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah, I want to hear from people. want to see other seasons going or what they're seeing. Jason Corley: I want to feel the temp. I want to feel the town. I want to know what the temperature is like in Arizona. I want to know what it's like in California. I want to know what it's like out in Iowa. You know what mean? So hopefully parents to call in and talk to us about how baseball is looking out there. Yeah. The okay fuel, somebody call in from the okay fuel out in Oklahoma. and, ⁓ so forth. yeah, ⁓ than that, man, we'll, ⁓ I'm sure we'll hang up and probably. Jacob Moreno: Yeah. Yeah. Nebraska. Jason Corley: dive into more of this conversation, but probably not because I'm tired and I gotta, I gotta be up early. I gotta get to work tomorrow. So, so yeah. All right, man. Well, listen, if I'll talk to you sometime in tomorrow. All right, buddy. Love you. Love you. See you. Bye. Jacob Moreno: ⁓ okay. So, alright, man. Okay, yep, sounds good. All right, love you, see you, bye.
