Jason Corley: Hey everybody, Jason here from the Travel Dads podcast. Listen, I just wanted to take just a couple minutes of your time and I wanted to go over how to navigate the website and a couple of the features that are on the website since we started this petition. ⁓ for those of you that don't know, yes, we started the petition. ⁓ you know, I've always, I've always, I've always to live by kind of a mantra that you don't just talk about it, you be about it. And I want this podcast. to be something more than just a couple of dads bitching and moaning about the things that we don't like. I want this to be a place that we can grow the game for the boys. know, I've got a little one as young as eight years old who's got a lot of years ahead of them this game that they absolutely love. ⁓ I would like to grow the game as much as possible and I would like to see it flourish. But with flourish comes change. else. So the other night we did our podcast, Jacob and I talked about possibly starting a petition ⁓ because one of the things that was ⁓ very, very apparent in the comments is the frustration with the state of play policies throughout ⁓ all of travel sports. It's not just travel baseball. It's travel softball. It's soccer. It's basketball, AAU, it's football, it's other recreational sports where these event organizers are implementing these massive stay to play hierarchies of regulation. And it's complete bullshit. It shouldn't be legal in any way, or form. So we talked about it and it's something that we definitely get frustrated with. And I would say that 90 % of parents have a problem with this as much as things changing on a daily basis. And things have changed already so fast with places like Grand Park in Indiana and their policies are changing and getting more stringent on and so forth for their state of play season coming up. So I said the hell with it. I ⁓ want to just be a talking head that says stupid shit on here that you guys tune in to listen to. I want to be a voice for possibly some change and I want to leave a mark with this. So ⁓ we start with just ⁓ our voices be heard that we're all against this state of play. ⁓ folks, I don't know if anything will ever come of this. I have no idea. Who knows if they're going to give two craps what we have to say or how we feel. but you would think that they would take this into consideration and think, hmm, we would really like to be the organization that stops this and then watch the flood of people start to come and enter their tournaments because they don't implement that and people want to support that while the other people stay put and people stop going to their tournaments. The only way we can affect them is through affecting their bottom line because all of this trickles back down to money. as parents, we want to give them the opportunity ⁓ to change this. We don't want this to get ugly. I don't want this to get ugly. That's not my point. My point is for them to just know that it's more than just two dads talking about a podcast. We ⁓ the ball community, the travel sports community to understand, the organizers to understand ⁓ that this is not cool in any way, shape or form. And only way ⁓ we're gonna get it to change is for you to know we all have a problem with it. So with that being said, went ahead and put my name on it. like that song says, I don't know who sings it, but there's a song out there stamp your name to it or something. ⁓ put a ring on it. I mean, that's what it was. It was put a ring on it by the I don't different thing. Same, I think same idea. Probably not even the same idea. I don't know. But anyways, put my name on it. We started the petition and it is live. It has been live all day long. ⁓ what we've done is to make it super easy on everybody. We've put this on the website. So there's no like, well, do we go to Facebook? Do we go to Instagram? Do we go to X? Where do we go? Just go to the Travel Dads podcast website. It's right there on the home page. It really easy to find. And I want to show you guys that now because there's some other things that I want to show you on the website of different ways you guys can support us and support the show. We get it. We understand that not everybody can sponsor the show. We we definitely have room. for sponsors we definitely need sponsorship dollars going forward so that we can continue to, ⁓ I guess could say, put ⁓ on a of metal and a bulletproof vest for the arrows that are going to come and that are already coming our way due to the voices that ⁓ we're having how we're expressing ⁓ your voices these microphones. So we definitely, definitely need sponsorship dollars. I'm not going to pretend like we don't. We need to be able to keep things going. And the only way to keep things going is with the support of sponsorship dollars. But we also know that there's a lot of parents out there that would love to just, you know, throw us 10 bucks here, 10 bucks there. So there's a couple different things that you guys can do to support the show and keep this snowball rolling down the hill, because we will press these issues that you guys want us to press. We will absolutely talk about them. We may not be able to get them fixed. but we will talk about the issues that you guys wanna talk about. That's what we're here for. That's what we wanna do. That's why we're doing this. So let me show you guys over here on the website how to go ahead and navigate through some of this stuff and show you some of the things you can do to support the show. gotta get the glasses. So if you go over here to traveledadspodcast.com, okay, right ⁓ and. It is gonna load and right at the very top, you're gonna see my handle, Jacob's handle for Instagram. And right here, the very first thing is that we did a, we up with this company called Buy Me a Coffee and it's an easy way for you guys to go in ⁓ and throw us a bone, really, honestly. I mean, called, you buy you cup of coffee. but it's also a way for just parents out there or ⁓ type of support that you wanna give, ⁓ can obviously give it there and we can know who you came from and you guys can leave us a note. ⁓ that's the first thing that we did. And then right underneath of it on the homepage ⁓ the link, a massive link, stop mandatory stay to play and use sports. Stop mandatory stay to play ⁓ and use sports. This is just basically a screen grab from the change.org website. But if you click anywhere on this picture, it will take you over to the petition. ⁓ And can then take this petition ⁓ and it with the tournament organizations. And hopefully one of those is gonna be the first one to say, you know we're actually gonna change and we're gonna stop this and we're gonna see what kind of support we get by not making people do it. So that is right there on the homepage, like right there. And then it goes into the rest of the website ⁓ links are right here on the website. The is right there on the website as well. The Hit Dogs hotline is there and then at the very bottom, there's a little message for me talking about sponsorship opportunities. It's kind of probably a little outdated to be honest with you. If you go to the very bottom, here is the link for our merch store. Now, we do not make very much off of the merch store. I'll just be really honest with you. The merch store is just an opportunity mostly for branding. I think we get like, I don't even know. We ⁓ a couple bucks off of a shirt and a hat, stuff like that. We're not making a bunch of stuff because this is ⁓ drop shipment company that works with us. So. but it is a great way to spread the gospel of travel ball. And that's just really honestly what it is. But we just every little bit helps. So if you guys want to support the show, if you want to support Jacob and I and allow us to be able to keep doing this, then we need your support. We need your sponsorship dollars. We need your just your your donations of buying us a coffee or buying a shirt and a hat. You don't even have to wear the shirt and a hat for Christ's sake. Just, I don't know, put it in a garage sale this fall and get your money back. I don't even know. But any ⁓ help, any financial help that you guys want to provide goes towards the podcast and allows us to keep this truck rolling. I will tell you that this we're going to be doing podcasts from East Cobb, where Jacob and I will both be at. ⁓ And there are some throughout the year that we definitely want to be able to get to, but we're not going to be able to get to unless we have sponsorship dollars, because it's going to involve flights and ⁓ and hotels and stuff that. obviously not stay to broadcast. We won't be signing up for that stuff. most importantly, get over to the website, go to the homepage, sign the petition, sign the petition so that we can let our voices be heard. ⁓ listen, ⁓ not going to get anything done. If this thing sits at 11 people ⁓ 20 people for the next month, then the tournament organizations are just going to laugh. And they're just going be like, we told you, everybody just bitches about it, but nobody's going to do anything about it. Here is your chance. This is just like complaining about election, but not voting. In order to get changed, you have to vote. And this is an easy, easy way to vote. And we did all the work. We did the petition. We started it. We stamped our name to it. So nobody's going to come back and get mad at your little Johnny because the heat is coming to me and my boys and Jacob and his son. We're the ones that are willing to take the arrows for everybody. ⁓ all we're asking you guys to do is to Just keep filling our quiver so that we can go to bat for you guys is all we're asking you guys to do. And if you want to buy us a coffee in the process, that'd be really, really cool. So other that, man, we'll talk to you guys in a couple of days. ⁓ We've got some ideas coming for the podcast, but hope you guys have a great, great Monday. Love you. See you. Bye.
