justice for: Between 1965 and 2024, more than 352,000 homicides in the United States were recorded as unsolved. And according to national estimates, nearly one of every three murders in 2025 was not cleared by law enforcement. That's hundreds of thousands of victims whose families have been left searching for answers. Families who have spent years, sometimes decades, wondering who took their loved one from them and whether they'll ever see justice. But here's something else to think about. Behind those numbers are countless people responsible for taking another person's life, who have never been brought to justice. People who may still be out there living their everyday lives while the families of the victims are left wondering if they'll ever know the truth. Because for every murder that goes unsolved, there's a family still waiting for answers and someone who has yet to answer for what they've done. Welcome back to another episode of Justice Four. We are your host. I'm Jackie. And I'm Sam. I haven't done in a cold open like that for a while. No, you haven't. And that's that's may I take a guess that this is an unsolved case? No way. Because I do that a lot to you? Yes. Let's get into this shit, you guys. April eighteenth of twenty sixteen in Midlothian, Texas. twenty sixteen fucking sucked. This was right before Harambe happened. I Harambe happened in the summer. The whole year sucked. It's true. That's when our timeline jumped. It is. But continue. it's early on a Monday morning and most of the town is still asleep. Rain has been moving through the area overnight, and the sun hasn't even started to come up yet. Where are we at? Midlothian, Texas. Okay. I don't know where April in Texas. Mm-hmm. But in the parking lot of Creekside Church of Christ, a small group of people were preparing to start their day with a workout. They are there for 5 a.m. Camp Gladiator Fitness Class, led by a woman named Terry Missy Bevers. my gosh, this was totally the time of like the booty booty boot camp. Yeah. Workouts and parks and like other things. I remember this because Nicole's a toddler. I used to do things like this. Okay, I'm sorry. The fitness marshal is my jam. I got sucked into Herbalife and we had a free gym type thing down here. I didn't see I did Herbalife a little bit. It was so good. It was really good. But twenty sixteen was the year of the boot camps. And CrossFit. CrossFit started coming along and booty boot camps in the park. But yeah. So just keep that in mind. This is not a weird thing to have a a gladiator workout thing in a church. Gladiator Camp Gladiator. Yeah. That was a totally normal thing in 2016. Yep. Missy is known for arriving early, getting everything organized, and making sure her clients are ready to go. And despite the weather, she made it clear that the class is happening. But when the first participant arrives at 4:35 in the morning, something seems a little strange. Missy's truck is already parked outside the church, and the truck is open. The tailgate's down, and her keys were left near the back of it. Some of her workout equipment appears to have already been unloaded as well. Everything this everything suggests that Missy had arrived and started setting up for class. But there's one problem: Missy is nowhere to be seen. And at that point nobody has any reason to believe that something terrible's happened. Maybe she just went inside to turn on lights, use the restroom, or get something ready before everyone arrived. After all, the weather had forced the workout to go indoors. they used to do it just in parking lots. Yeah. Parking lots, parks, whatever. Yeah. Well and also the other thing could be that she was carrying stuff in. Yeah. And then went to the bathroom or Exactly went over here to do this. So it just makes sense that she would be inside this church since that's where they were moving their workout to. The first participant Reportedly tried to get into the building but has trouble opening the door. She also could have been running late that morning and so she was still moving stuff. She could. Mm-hmm. He did attempt to reach Missy by phone, but she didn't answer. Okay. So we're smaller community where like we have each other's phone numbers and stuff. Yes. Okay. Yeah. And I think because she was the fitness instructor, everyone had her number. Yeah, we probably had a group chat type thing for if class got cancelled or location changed or any of that, she's sick. Yeah. Yeah. So he decided to just wait outside for everyone else to show up or Missy to come outside. Yeah. All right. As five o'clock approached, more participants began arriving. there was also a couple who was participating who was familiar with the church and actually helped get the group inside of the church. And almost immediately they noticed something unusual. There was broken glass scattered throughout portions of the church. Okay. I don't know about y'all. Was there any like broken door or window? we'll get into it. Okay. Yeah. I don't know about y'all, but like walking into a church before sunrise first and foremost, that's terrifying in itself. but finding broken glass all over the floor would be enough for me to start questioning, like, what the hell's going on up in this church? So the curses are just very silent and echoey when no one's there first. I remember helping set up for vacation bible school. Yeah. Or being like going in early to do the bread. My mom would help out with doing the bread and so we'd get there early and sometimes we'd get there as they were coming in and to like walk into the totally silent churn to have to start turning on the lights and stuff. As a kid it was a little eerie just 'cause it's so open. So everything echoes all the noises. It's creepy. But no, I feel you on the glass in the church and being a little creepy. Like especially because like they're not being like, the front door shattered. No. Cause I saw the in the picture she showed me there's a crime scene tape like across a door. But the doors are intact, I remembered. Yeah so that's why I was like what was broken. so The group began calling out for Missy, but there was no answer. They continued searching throughout, and then inside of one of the rooms, they find her. Missy is lying unresponsive on the floor, surrounded by blood and broken glass. She suffered devastating injuries, and it's immediately clear that something terrible has happened. Emergency services are called and police and paramedics rush to the scene. But despite the response, there was nothing they could do. Forty five year old Missy Bevers is dead. Officers immediately began searching the building to determine whether anyone else is was inside, but they found no one. Somewhere between Missy's arrival and the time her students discovered her, somebody somebody had brutally attacked her inside of the church, and nobody knew who. At this point, investigators had a murdered fitness instructor, a building with no signs of forced entry, and very little information about what had actually happened. And very early in the morning, and I'm gonna say probably in a very small window of time, because I talk about the time frame. She's there, like this is 445 when he gets there, right? This church. He gets there at 435. So for her to have already been dead, clearly dead, not still clinging to life. Correct. And no one to be seen anywhere. Not even a car leaving by this guy coming in, not a person leaving, like nothing. Nope. Like this is this is crazy. We get into timeline and stuff here in a bit, like actual time frame. So Before we get into the investigation of what the hell I just told y'all, I want to tell you about Missy. 'Cause I'm apparently getting ahead of ourselves. That's okay. Terry Lann Strickland was born on August ninth of nineteen seventy in Graham, Texas, to James and Norma Strickland. But she went by Missy? She went by Missy. I don't know where it came from. She grew up in Jacksonboro, Texas, with her older brother Clifford, whom she affectionately called Bubba, and her younger brother Clint. Clifford? Clifford. Clifford. Clifford. Really? Yeah. It was it was my favorite client. She was born in the sixties, man. From the way her family described her, Missy had a big personality, even when she was little. She was outgoing, loved making friends, and had a way of making people feel welcome. Her obituary described her as someone who never met a stranger. And I think that tells you quite a bit about the kind of person she was. Yeah. She graduated from Jacksonboro High School in nineteen eighty eight and eventually attended, I'm really sorry if I say this wrong, y'all know me, I can't say shit. Tarlaton. Yeah, Tarleton State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nineteen ninety five. After college, Missy worked in retail and it was during this time that she met the man who would become her husband and his name was Brandon Bevers. Okay. according to the family, Missy was working alongside Brandon's mother named Marsha, who thought the two might make a good couple. look, she was right. I know. She helped introduce them and the relationship just took off. Mamas always no. Mm-hmm. Missy and Brandon ended up being married on June twentieth of nineteen ninety-eight and began building their life together in North Texas. before she became a fitness instructor, she was actually a teacher. Okay. Mm-hmm. After getting married, Missy went back to school to earn her certification in special education. She spent several years teaching students with special needs, which when you think about it seems to fit perfectly with how people described her personality. She enjoyed helping others, encouraging them, and seeing them accomplish something they might not have believed they could do. Then in March of 2001, Missy and Brandon welcomed their first daughter, Hannah. Okay. Then their second daughter, Allie, arrived in March of 20, sorry, of 2003, followed by their youngest named Sarah in November of 2007. Okay. Mm-hmm. After Hannah was born, Missy made the decision to step away from teaching and just focus on raising her family. And if there's one thing that becomes clear when you learn about Missy's life, it's just how much her daughters meant to her. You saw all the pictures. yeah. I there was more. I bet there was. They were so cute. Together the silly face pictures that they were making. I like that. There was so many pictures on her Facebook. Okay. Her Facebook is still up, you guys. Obviously. I already told you she died. her Facebook is still up and you can still see all of the pictures. All of I only grabbed a few just because otherwise you wouldn't see our face the entire episode 'cause I would just be pictur picture pictures. So yeah. She spent years taking care of her children, supporting their interests and helping them grow. Her family describes someone who loved deeply, encouraged people to chase their dreams, and believed in making the most out of life. But as her daughters started growing older, Missy began pursuing another passion, fitness. You guys see how buffed she is? Yeah, but like also, when does she sleep? my god, I know. You have three daughters, you are on your third career. What my gosh. I mean, get it, way to go, but like Yeah. Confirm it. Right? But what started as a personal goal eventually became an opportunity to help other people, naturally. Missy had experienced firsthand how difficult it could be to balance motherhood, family responsibilities, and taking care of herself. She understood that getting healthy wasn't always as simple as deciding to go to the gym, especially when you had children and a million things demanding your attention. So she started working on her own fitness journey. And as she became stronger and more confident, she realized that she wanted to help other people experience the same feeling. She became involved with Camp Gladiator, a fitness program centered around group workouts, accountability, and community. By 2015, Missy had become an instructor herself, and she fucking loved it. There's actually pictures on her Facebook. of events that she had her daughters come to her come with. Yeah. Her. You know what I'm saying. Yeah. And they're like in a pyramid in front of the Camp Gladiator like table. It's so cute. my gosh, they were adorable. She wasn't just interested in helping people lose weight and get stronger. She wanted them to feel better about themselves, build confidence and recognize what they were capable of accomplishing. And I think it's really interesting that Missy had essentially found another way of being a teacher. Yeah. Yeah. So now this brings us back to our rainy Monday morning. All right. Well well, kind of. Actually, I'm gonna talk about the night before. Okay. First. On Sunday, April 17th of 2016, Missy was preparing for another week of fitness classes. The weather in North Texas How many classes a week were we doing? Girl, I don't even know. The weather in North Texas had been wet and rain was expected to continue into the morning. Normally Camp Gladiator workouts are held outdoors, often in parking lots or open spaces where participants had plenty of room to exercise. Okay. But Missy was not planning on canceling class. She said hell no. she had permission to use Creekside Church of Christ for her workouts. And when the weather was particularly bad, her group could move indoors. That Sunday evening, she posted a message to Facebook letting participants know that they were still meeting that morning in the church. Okay. Her message included the words, quote, if it's raining, we're still training, end quote. no. Yeah, she was one of those. You got time to lean, you got time to clean. Ouch. That hurts. Yeah, I know. That hurts. She had a schedule to keep. She w was very a very organized person as well and people were counting on her. So she was set to do this. Meanwhile, her husband Brandon was out of town on a fishing trip in Mississippi. Okay. That meant Missy was handling the morning routine back home while preparing to teach her early workout session. The girls were still at home and Missy planned to return after her classes to continue with the family's normal school day routine. Okay. Nothing about the evening suggested that this would be her final night alive. So early Monday morning, Missy got up and prepared for work. She needed to be at the church well before her five o'clock class so she could unload equipment and prepare for the participants. At approximately four sixteen AM, surveillance and investigative timelines placed Missy's arrival at the church. Accounts of the scene describe her truck. Pooling into the parking lot with workout items being unloaded. Her keys were left near the tailgate as she moved things into position to move inside. Missy would have So do we have a camera like in the parking lot? Yes. Just point at her truck. Do we have any cameras at the door, anywhere else in the church? We're gonna get there. Okay. Missy would have had several things to do before the class began. She needed to get the space ready, organize equipment, and make sure the building was accessible to the people arriving for their workout. So at some point after arriving, Missy did enter the church. And it was actually fairly quick. Yeah. After she arrived like within two minutes. Okay. And this is where the confirmed timeline becomes Little less clear. We don't have a publicly released recording that shows the complete interaction that led up to her murder. The investigators have not provided a detailed minute by minute public account of what she may have saw or heard after entering the building. So while it's tempting to imagine that she heard a noise or followed someone down a hallway, we don't actually know that happened. Okay. I will explain this momentarily. What we do know is that she never returned outside. Okay, so we got out of our truck. We moved stuff down to the tailgate of the truck in order to make it easier to move in. She probably went inside to prop doors open so that she could carry stuff in easier and did not come back out. Correct. Okay. And then at approximately four thirty five AM, the first participant reportedly arrived and waited outside after being unable to locate her. Then just after five, her students discovered her body and called for help. And when I think about that timeline, I keep coming back to how little time had passed. Nineteen minutes had passed by the time she got there to the first student arriving. And then around five AM, so forty four minutes later, her body was discovered. So do we have video of that student who arrived in the parking lot the whole time? Not that I know of. Okay. So like my thing is that like she got there at four sixteen. He got there at four thirty five. Four thirty five. And they didn't go in until after five o'clock. At five. Or at five o'clock. So like He showed up and said this, but do we have proof of this? Yes. Okay. I'm suspicious of everybody. I know, that's fine. While police were responding to the church, Missy's husband Brandon was hundreds of miles away in Mississippi on a fishing trip. One of Missy's fitness class participants actually called Brandon to tell him something happened to his wife. Initially, she described it as an accident and told him he needed to come home. Brandon misunderstood and thought Missy had just been involved in a car accident. When he explained that he was in Mississippi and couldn't get there right away, the woman struggled to explain how serious the situation was. Yeah, I don't you know, we don't know how well she knows him. Yeah. And I don't Well enough to have his number. I mean somehow I yeah. I mean I guess maybe. I don't know if I'd be able to tell somebody that over the phone without you know what I mean? Just be like, listen, I think you'd trust me. They have no idea what actually happened. Yeah, and they just found her in like it could have been an accident, especially if she's surrounded by glass. They could have she hit her head. Yeah. There was an accident, you need to be here. you don't know. Yeah. I don't know. Shortly afterward, another participant called Brandon and told him the devastating truth. Missy had not been in a car accident. She had been found dead inside of the church, and he needed to get home as quickly as possible. As Brandon scrambled to arrange a flight back to Texas, his family began making phone calls of their own. His mother contacted other relatives, including Brandon's sister, who went to the family home to be with the girls. Well, yeah, because we're gonna need somebody there. Yeah. Missy's mother and additional family members also arrived at the house knowing they were about to have to have a conversation no family should ever have to have. No. At the time Missy's daughters, Hannah, Allie, and Sarah were just fifteen, thirteen, and eight years old. They had been asleep when their mother left for work that morning, completely unaware it was gonna be the last time she walked out of the door. Family members gathered the girls my gosh. Bro, I'm already tearing up over here. You're about to destroy me and I know this. Family members gathered the girls in the living room and explained that their mother had died. According to relatives who later spoke about that morning. The girls were absolutely devastated. They cried, screamed, and held tightly to one another and their family members as they tried to process what they had just been told. Yeah. That's Yeah. When Brandon finally made it back to Texas, he returned to a house filled with grieving family members. He immediately embraced his daughters and together they just What do you even do? They were left trying to make sense of a tragedy that happened so suddenly. Yeah. We got we got through it guys. Yeah, that was While Missy's family was struggling to come to terms with her death, investigators were beginning the difficult process of determining exactly how she had been killed. Yeah. Her body had been transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office Where an autopsy was performed on April 19th, 2016, just one day after she was found inside the church. Initially, authorities released very little information about the extent of her injuries. Early search warrants indicated that she had suffered a fatal head wound, but additional details wouldn't become public until several weeks later. According to the search document, the search warrant documents. released in May of twenty sixteen, investigators believe the puncture wounds to Missy's head and chest were consistent with injuries that could have been inflicted by a tool, possibly a hammer. That's what I was just thinking. Mm-hmm. However, the exact exact weapon used to kill her has not been publicly confirmed. Despite those findings, investigators chose not to release the complete autopsy report or disclose the exact weapon that has been used to kill her. Certain details were kept confidential to protect the integrity of the investigation and preserve information that could become important when questioning potential suspects. Or is it all still Yes it is. Okay. I really hate that because I feel like after a certain number of years we should just release everything because at this point what's yeah. Maggie Long is my biggest one with that. Like why do we still have things kept held to the chest? Can we just release it? Yeah, I agree. Meanwhile, detectives were continuing their work at the church, examining the physical evidence and trying to piece together what happened between the time Missy arrived and when her students discovered her. The condition of the building would raise several questions about what had taken place that morning, and investigators were about to uncover evidence that would provide their first real glimpse into the events leading up to her death. As investigators began processing the scene at the church, they quickly discovered that Missy's murder was wasn't the only disturbing thing about the building that morning. There were clear signs of forced entry, with broken glass scattered throughout several areas of the church. The damage extended beyond a single door or a window, and the church's office area appeared to have been searched with files and other materials scattered around everywhere. Okay. Initially investigators considered the possibility that someone had broken into the building to steal something and that Missy had unknowingly interrupted them. That that's what I was thinking was that somebody had broken in and was in there and she happened to come in to start setting up and they were caught off guard. Or possibly like a homeless person or somebody like to stay warmer 'cause like I mean, know it's April and it's been rainy and wet. Mm-hmm. But like I mean, just to get out of the wet and everything like that. Yeah. So I do also want to point out this was a Monday, Sunday church service. They probably collected. Yeah, that's the other part that I was gonna say was with the office being tossed, they were looking for money. But there's one detail that made the examination a little harder to understand. Despite the damage throughout the church, investigators hadn't identified anything had actually been stolen. If something had or I'm sorry, if someone had broken in looking for valuables. They apparently hadn't taken anything. She was also wearing jewelry, like pretty expensive jewelry, that was still on her. And if a robbery wasn't the motive, what exactly had this person been doing inside the building? Okay, so my next thought is now a teenager just fucking around and got caught. Yeah. Keep keep keep your keep your thoughts here. Yeah. Okay. As detectives continued examining the scene, they began piecing together Missy's movements that morning, trying to determine what happened between the time she arrived and when her students discovered her. They also wanted to know whether anyone else had been seen entering or leaving the property during those early morning hours. That's when investigators turned their attention to the church's security cameras. I've been waiting. I know. Although the surveillance system didn't capture every area of the building, investigators were able to recover recordings from several cameras inside the church. They began reviewing the footage, hoping it might establish a timeline. Or provide some clue about what had happened to her. And what they discovered was far more disturbing than anyone could have imagined. Because nearly half an hour before Missy ever arrived at the church, the cameras had already captured someone moving through the building. Someone who had absolutely no business being there. And investigators were about to get their first look at the person they believed. was responsible for Missy's murder. I'm confused. Why is this still unsolved? I'm about to show you that video. this is where the case gets unbelievably creepy, you guys. Well, because it's so straightforward right now. Like I'm so confused. It's so straightforward. We have video surveillance. We have somebody in there. Why I have the footage. I have this security footage and I am about to play it. I'm gonna play it for you, obviously. and if you're just listening. What? You said you're gonna play it for me and I said and you. I mean, yeah, I'm gonna play it for you guys too. But if you were just listening, it would it will be linked in our show notes. I have the whole video, y'all. Or you can make your way to YouTube right now and it's gonna play It'll be on the same time stamp as if you're on Spotify or Apple or wherever you're listening. Whatever timestamp you're on right now, switch over to YouTube to that exact same timestamp and you will get the video because we use the exact same file until YouTube yells at us. At approximately 3 50 AM, about 26 minutes before Missy arrives, the church's surveillance camera captured an unidentified individual moving through the building. And this person wasn't dressed like your typical burglar. They appeared to be wearing police style tactical equipment. A dark helmet, gloves, a face covering, bulky protective clothing, and a vest displaying the word. police across it. Right, gear, if you will. Yep. And they were carrying tools, including what appears to be a hammer and a pry bar, a crowbar. But what makes the footage so unsettling isn't simply the clothing, it's the person's behavior. As they're moving through the church, they're seen checking doors, entering rooms, and breaking glass panels and drywall for some reason. At times this person almost appears casual. They're not visibly sprinting through the building or desper desperately trying to get away from someone. They're moving through the hallways in a way that has left people questioning exactly what the fuck they're doing. And then there's the walk. The person has a very distinctive like gat. Yeah, like a gape like Yeah, it's it gave money walks. Yeah, it's it is distinct. Yeah. Their feet appear to be turned outward and there's a noticeable side-to-side movement as they walk. It looks almost exaggerated in a sense. At one point, the individual appears to touch or steady themselves against a wall, which has led people to wonder whether this person had some kind of injury, physical condition, or difficulty walking. But here's the problem: a person's walk can also be affected by all sorts of things, including footwear, heavy clothing. And the way they're moving like at a particular movement and also riot gears fucking heavy. Or they were intoxicated. So even though the gate seems distinctive, it hasn't been enough to identify the person. Investigators also struggled to determine the individual's height and build because of the bulky tactical clothing. Police have described how the height can't be determined because we can literally put at the angle of the camera with the doorway height and match his height up. So the height should be easier to figure out. I dun Listen, I can't do that math. I'm sure someone out there could do that math. That's not math. I c I mean if I thought about it long enough, but I don't want to we don't want to do that the steam will rise. but no they could figure out his height. Police described an estimated height range of approximately five foot two to five foot eight. Which feels wrong to me. So from that video. And also you could tell his weight because he's not a skinny dude. He's he's a big We don't know if it's a dude. Whoever it is is a little bit bigger with the way the riot gear is on them. I riot gear's heavy and bulky, but you could see the way it was sticking out sticking out on him. I've looked at enough police videos on TikTok, don't ask questions, that you can tell like the way it fits someone. And also like I know that I did say like maybe a teenager like just kind of fucking around. This doesn't really seem like a teenager per se messing around the way that they're walking and doing stuff because I just feel it would be a little bit more swingy in here with things. like a Bianca Ellis situation. Yeah, yeah. I could definitely see it I mean maybe like late late teens, early twenties. Mm. But I don't Yeah. I definitely was not ready for full riot gear man walking around. and perhaps one of the most important details is that investigators have not established whether this person is male or female. I know that might sound strange because so many people watch the video and immediately form an opinion about the suspect's gender. I've been trying to be really good about that. But that's a dude. I think it's a dude. One thousand percent that's a male. Yeah. But an opinion based on the way someone moves or their clothing what they're wearing isn't the same as proof. I think it's dude. I genuinely believe that is a man in my heart of hearts. But police, the investigators are all very much like, we don't know. Now another detail that makes this video particularly interesting is the activity around the church offices. the person can be seen entering office areas. Investigator and investigators documented damage in those spaces. You can see this person clearly. hammering away at a fucking wall. If this really was a burglary, could they have just been searching for cash or valuables? But if they weren't trying to steal anything, why were they going through the building and breaking glass? And that's where we start getting into some of the the theories surrounding this case. I just it just it doesn't look like there was a plan or anything. Yeah. I think we just They were meandering in the church. Yes. I think they I'm gonna go with it's somebody who isn't either either isn't a fan of churches. Uhhuh. Could have just got divorced somebody or had something with a somebody who was in the church and higher up in the church and was just like, This is what we're gonna fuck up and fuck around and do or I don't know. the flamingo incident in Vegas, maybe he was just really, really, really drunk and doesn't even remember he was doing it and was like, I don't even know what I was doing. He's all seeing the v the video on the news and shit. You know what I mean? I do. I do know what you mean. So but somebody knows in this small town, somebody who has full riot police gear. Yeah, that's because if I had full blown riot police gear, you bet your ass I'd show that off to people who came to my house. I would totally be like, Look what I got. Same. I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of you. Let's get into some of the let's get into a couple of the theories and then you and I can discuss our theories. Okay. one possibility investigators had to consider was the person inside of the church had broken in looking for money. And when you consider the timing, it's an interesting theory. This happened early Monday morning, just hours after Sunday church services, when donations and offerings would typically have been collected. This was after Easter Sunday. Yes, it was. Someone looking for an easy target might have assumed there was cash somewhere inside the building waiting to be deposited at the bank. That could potentially explain why the church offices appear to have been searched with files and other material scattered around. See, but the file part is what makes me think that it was like related to somebody like in the church because like they were looking for something. And like I don't necessarily know if it was money or not, and if they couldn't find what they were looking for, they were like, Well, let's fuck the church up. Yeah, period. I feel like they were kind of fucking the church up before they fucked up the offices. Yeah. I don't know. And considering it was the middle of the night, they probably wouldn't have expected anyone to show up for several more hours. I mean, who who anticipates a fitness instructor arriving at church at four thirty in the morning? Yeah. On a Monday morning to be exact. If this really was a burglary, it's possible that Missy walked into the building while this person was still searching, doing whatever they were doing. The intruder may have been caught completely off guard, and what started as an attempted theft could have been turned into a violent confrontation. There has never been confirmation that money from Sunday's offering was actually inside of the church, but it does provide one possible explanation for the damage investigators discovered. However, There are still some details that make this theory difficult to piece together. The person was dressed in police style tactical gear, spent a significant amount of time moving through the building, and apparently left without stealing anything. About a half hour twenty six, twenty nine minutes, something like that. Okay. Under a half hour. This person spent moseying around. of course that does not necessarily rule out a burglary. They may have found what they were looking for, and Missy's arrival could have interrupted whatever they had planned. Or whatever they took, nobody realized they took. That's very true. This was a massive church. Like you could tell from the pictures and the video itself. There's all of these hallways and doorways. Like this was a big fucking church. It wasn't a tiny church. I don't know, he honestly could have already found what he was looking for at that point. And I could see that if he was caught off guard by her coming in there either she her cell phone and threatened call nine one one or something or any of that and he just Yeah. I I don't know why I haven't put this in here anywhere, but it was confirmed that this person broke in through the kitchen. of the church as well. Interesting. Yeah. So Okay. Just a heads up on that. There is another possibility that has been discussed since the beginning of this investigation. What if the person inside the church wasn't looking for money at all? What if they already knew Missy would be arriving that morning? they were just like killing time. Another possibility is that Missy's murder wasn't the result of a burglary gone wrong, but something that had been planned specifically for her. One thing investigators had to consider was how predictable her morning routine had become. Missy regularly taught early morning fitness c fitness classes at Creekside Church. Okay. And she had even posted on Facebook the night before confirming that the class was taking place despite the weather. Anyone familiar with her schedule who had seen the post could Have known exactly where she was planning on being that morning. Yeah. And when you consider the intruder was already inside the church, nearly half an hour before Missy arrived, it's understandable why people have questioned whether they were there waiting for her. The person had concealed their identity beneath layers of riot gear, brought tools into the building, and spent a significant amount of time moving through the hallways. It's possible that all of this was intentional with the damage throughout the church. Meant to make the crime look like a burglary rather than a planned attack. But there are also details that make that explanation difficult to understand. If the intruder knew Missy would be arriving, why spend so much time wandering through the building instead of positioning themselves somewhere near an entrance? And why choose a location where other people would have shown up shortly afterwards? The surveillance footage doesn't reveal whether the person was watching for Missy, and it's possible they weren't even aware that a fitness class was scheduled that way. Yeah, every time that you think there's something else that doesn't match up with that. And then it just keeps going. That's what makes this case so frustrating. The same evidence can support completely different explanations depending on how you interpret it. Yeah. The intruder's presence could suggest someone deliberately arrived ahead of Missy, or it could mean she interrupted a person who believed the building would be empty. And without knowing who was underneath that riot gear or what brought them to the church in the first place, investigators are still left. trying to determine whether Missy was specifically targeted or simply encountered someone who didn't expect her to be there. Yeah. It's it's so interesting. Yeah. Cause like, I don't know, I I personally I don't believe this was a burglary. I think maybe it was very specifically planned and I'll ex I get into it a little bit more here actually in this next part. and I think they were their Early trying to make it look like a burglary? I I don't know, I kinda just think it's somebody vandalizing a church to fucking vandalize a church and Missy came in. Yeah. And caught him off guard. I think it's just it's weird. they were that would be the most fucking serendipitous ass shit. Well, remember, it's always usually the answer is the most mundane thing that could have happened. It's never the most salacious thing you're gonna hear. You know what I mean? Yeah. And and that's we we go through that so many times. Like with so many different cases that like you think that it's all these complicated scenarios when really it's like they walked in the door and tripped over something and hit their head and now we panicked. You know what I mean? Yeah. As investigators continued working to determine whether Missy had been specifically targeted, they began taking a closer look at her personal life. Yeah, see that's where I was going to next. I I need to know more about her personal life, her husband's including her marriage, friends, and recent communications. Like does she have a stalker? Let's get into this. Search warrant documents revealed that Missy and her husband Brandon had experienced both financial difficulties and problems within their marriage. Investigators also learned that Missy had reportedly been involved in an extramarital relationship, which naturally raises questions about whether jealousy or some kind of personal conflict could have played a role in her murder. According to reports, Missy and Brandon had attended marriage counseling and were working through those specific difficulties. Although Brandon was in Mississippi on a fishing trip when Missy was killed, investigators still examined his whereabouts and communications as they worked through the possibility that someone close to her could have been involved. His location at the time of the murder was supported by evidence, but that did not stop people online from from developing theories about him and other members of his family. One person who received a significant amount of attention was Brandon's father, Randy Bevers. After police released the surveillance footage, some viewers began comparing Randy's walk to the unusual gait of the person seen inside of the church. Randy was actually traveling in California at the time of Missy's murder, but the comparisons continued, especially after investigators received a tip from employees at the dry cleaner about a blood stained shirt he had brought in shortly after the murder. Well, that's suspicious. Uh-huh, uh-huh. But when police looked into it, Randy explained that his small my god, this hurts my heart so much. I remember writing this. Okay. Randy explained that his small dog had been seriously injured during a fight with a larger dog and the blood had gone on his clothing while he was trying to help the dog. Unfortunately, the dog did not survive. investigators tested the shirt and confirmed that the blood belonged to a dog, not Missy. There we go, that's That's really sad. I know. Despite that explanation, speculation surrounding the family continued. People compared body shapes, analyzed interviews, and tried to match Randy's movements to the person in the church surveillance footage, but none of those compare comparisons established that he or Brandon were involved. Investigators also started digging into Missy's online activity, particularly conversations she had been having through LinkedIn. my god. And this is where they uncovered some information that raised even more questions about what might have been happening in her personal life before her murder. According to the search warrant released in May May of 2016. One of Missy's friends told detectives about a strange message that Missy had received less than three days before she was killed. The two women had been together when Missy showed her friend a private LinkedIn message from a man neither of them recognized. Okay. Both women found the message creepy and unusual, although the friend couldn't remember the name associated with the account when investigators later interviewed her. unfortunately, the actual contents of that message have never been publicly released. So we don't know exactly what that man said or why Missy and her friend found it so unsettling. But considering she received it just days before her murder, investigators wanted to find out who had sent it and whether there was any possible connection to what happened. There wasn't. Spoiler alert. And that actually wasn't the only LinkedIn conversation detectives looked into. During their investigation, police identified another man who acknowledged that he and Missy had been exchanging messages through LinkedIn since approximately January of 2016. What may have started as ordinary communication eventually became much more personal. With investigators describing their conversations as flirtatious and familiar. When detectives examined the phones belonging to Missy and the man, they confirmed that the conversations had taken place. No way. But they also discovered that some of the messages had been deleted. Shocking. Shocking. Also on LinkedIn, that's that's crazy. If we had a nickel for every time someone had an affair on LinkedIn, we'd have two nickels. It's not a lot, but it's still really weird that it happened twice. Suzanne Morphew. I totally forgot it was on LinkedIn. Yes. They started on LinkedIn and then when they realized that it'd be safer they'd move to WhatsApp or something like that. That's wild. LinkedIn though? That's Yeah, they s all the they would start on LinkedIn and then move to their other apps. My gosh. Forensic investigators were able to recover portions of those conversations and according to the search warrant, the recovered exchanges appeared intimate in nature. Yeah. I am shocked. Yep. Police wanted to reconstruct her communications and identify the people she'd been speaking with within the weeks leading up to April eighteenth. They even submitted an emergency request to LinkedIn for additional records, concerned that the person responsible for her murder may have contacted her through that platform specifically. And when you consider the possibility that Missy was specifically targeted targeted, it's understandable why those messages received so much attention. And that's Okay, but like her having these extra fears, like I'm not looking at the men that she's talking to. I'm looking at her husband. Yeah? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Why do I feel in my bones that he he put someone onto this? he's very conveniently on a fishing trip. He was. But despite the search warrants, forensic examinations, and interviews, authorities have never publicly established that either set of LinkedIn conversations were connected to Missy's murder. The identity of the person who sent the unsettling message has not been publicly confirmed. And there has been no evidence released proving that the man involved in the much more personal conversations was responsible for what happened at the church. So investigators were left with another troubling possibility, but still no confirmed connection to the person captured on surveillance cameras. As investigators continued searching for clues, another piece of surveillance footage that raised even more questions. came through. This footage came from SWFA Outdoors, a sporting goods and firearms retailer located approximately a mile from Creekside Church of Christ. Okay. At around two AM that morning, nearly two hours before the unidentified intruder was captured on the church's security cameras, surveillance footage recorded a light colored sedan Entering the store's parking lot. You remember that picture? Yeah. Mm-hmm. It's here. It's there, if you need it. Rather than simply parking or passing through, the vehicle spent several minutes slowly circling the property. At different points, the driver appeared to turn the headlights off and back on, maneuvering around the parking lot before eventually leaving the area. Investigators believe the vehicle could have been a light colored Nissan Ultima, possibly from the twenty ten to twenty twelve model years. Another I'm sorry, although another similar looking vehicles couldn't be ruled out, but they very specifically think it was the Nissan Ultima. I owned a twenty twelve Nissan Ultima and that's what it looked like. I also owned when you showed me that picture I was like, That looks like a Nissan Ultima. Yeah. Okay. What makes this footage particularly interesting is the timing and location. SWFA Outdoors was only about a mile from the church and the vehicle was recorded shortly before someone dressed in fucking riot gear, police riot gear, entered the church. This led to speculation that the driver might have been scouting the sporting goods store before moving on to another location, considering SWFA sold firearms and related equipment. Some wonder whether the driver had initially intended to break into that business but changed their plans for some reason. I'm also wondering with the way that it was driving in circles and like turning its lights on and off, if he was like practicing how to approach whatever other location he was going into. Yeah. Or like, you know, like a little like test of like driving around the cameras or whatever, turning lights on and off. Yeah. But also I could see him thinking that was a good idea and then noticing the cameras or realizing there's probably a hell of a security system for a firearm store. Yeah. Another possibility is that the driver had absolutely nothing to do with the murder, but may have seen something important while traveling through the area. They could potentially have noticed another vehicle Someone walking nearby or activity that seemed insignificant at that time. But one reason investigators were so interested in identifying whoever was behind the wheel, like that's what they wanted to know if they saw something. You know. Unfortunately, the surveillance footage wasn't clear enough to identify the driver or read the license plate. Police released the video to the public hoping someone might recognize the car or come forward with information about why it had been in that parking lot so early in the morning. Yeah. Despite the attention surrounding the footage, police have never publicly established a connection between the sedan and Missy's murder. The driver's identity has not been publicly confirmed, and there is no verified evidence that the person behind the wheel was also the individual seen inside of the church. Still, the circumstances are difficult. to ignore. Despite the surveillance footage, the numerous investigative leads And the national attention surrounding Missy's murder. The person responsible has never been identified. No arrests have been made, no one has ever been charged, and investigators have never publicly established a motive for why she was killed. On April eighteenth, 2026, the tenth anniversary of Missy's death came and went, leaving her family with the same unanswered questions they've been living with since the devastating morning. In twenty sixteen. this is what makes the case so frustrating. Somebody knows something. obviously. somebody knows something and I hate when we have so much footage and so much evidence, but nothing at the same time. Yeah. Investigators have actual footage of the person they believed to have murdered Missy. They spent years studying that footage, examining evidence, interviewing witnesses, and following thousands of tips. Yet somehow an entire decade has passed without anyone being held accountable for her death. But while investigators have spent those 10 years searching for answers, Missy's family has learned how to live without her. When Missy was murdered, her three daughters, Hannah, Allie, and Sarah, were just 15, 13, and 8 years old. Today, they're young women who have graduated, pursued their own goals, and experienced some of life's biggest milestones without their mother there to celebrate alongside them. In April 2016, Missy's daughters and her husband Brandon sat down with CBS Texas to speak about the last the past decade and how their family has changed since losing her. During the interview, the girls showed photographs of their mother that they keep displayed in their home, including what they described as the only complete family picture they have together. Which is a little crazy because I have multiple. Interesting. I don't know. I'm not gonna question it. They shared memories of Missy, laughed about funny moments captured in old photographs, and talked about how they're how they try to focus on the happier memories rather than constantly revisiting the circumstances surrounding her death. Allie explained that when she's feeling overwhelmed or particularly misses her mom. She'll sometimes go back through Missy's Facebook page. Missy had been extremely active on social media while the girls were growing up, and these old posts have become another way for them to revisit moments they shared with her. Sarah said she does the same thing, finding comfort in those little pieces of her mother's life that are still there for them to look back on. But the girls also talked about how grief can catch them off guard, even after 10 years. Hannah recalled recently running into a friend who was out shopping with her mother at Target. It was an ordinary interaction, something most people probably wouldn't think twice about. But after leaving the store, Hannah found herself crying in her car. She explained that seeing them together reminded her of something she'd lost, saying, quote, I forgot that people do that, end quote. that's so sad. I know. Another particularly emotional part of the interview came when the girls began talking about their future weddings. Huh. While looking at a photograph of Missy in her wedding dress, Allie became emotional as she thought about having to experience her own w her own wedding without her mother. She explained that while getting married would undoubted undoubtedly be a happy occasion, it would also be incredibly difficult knowing Missy wouldn't be there. As Allie put it, quote, milestones are hard, end quote. Hannah agreed, admitting that she was already dreading that experience. And Brandon acknowledged how difficult it would be to watch his daughters get married without their mother beside them. Yeah. Yeah. The family also spoke about how much the girls had depended on one another after Missy's death. Brandon admitted there was times when he struggled to navigate everything on his own, and his daughter stepped in in ways that no child should have to. Sarah recalled being in second grade when her mother was murdered, and how Hannah helped her get ready in the mornings. Took her to school and picked her up afterward. Looking back on those years and everything her sisters had done for her, Sarah said, quote, I wouldn't be where I am without them. End quote. Brandon also opened up about the impact the investigation and public speculation had on him personally. In addition to losing his wife and trying to raise their daughters, he became the subject of accusations and theories suggesting he might have been involved in Missy's murder. During the interview he explained that the scrutiny took him to an incredibly dark place and for years his anger over the accusations made it difficult for him to properly grieve his wife's death. I watched the entire interview. Him sp it was heartbreaking. Okay, I take back my things I said about him being involved in this. It was incredibly heartbreaking. I mean it's just with like, did he know about the affairs or did he learn about that afterwards? He knew about it 'cause they were going to marriage counseling for it. Okay. I don't know if he knew about the LinkedIn conversations. Yeah. Unless that was the affair part of it. Yeah. 'Cause an emotional affair is still an affair, Did he remarry at all? Not that I know of. yeah, I take it all back, my bad. the second he got on camera. Tears. Yeah. Yeah. It was genuinely heartbreaking. Yeah. That's how I felt watching any time Deborah Nick Deborah Nichols was Doing it. I was harsh to me. I was harsh to Deborah. You were har harsh to Deborah, but like we've done enough of this at this point and we've watched enough things that you can really tell when it's genuine, especially after years. And there's a difference between a family dealing with shit for so long and now just being so matter of fact because they've had to just become that way in order to deal with what they have to deal with. But for me to still be like losing his crap like that. Yeah. Yeah. It was genuinely heartbreaking, it really was. I will I have a little bit more to talk about just because this was the first time they had spoken publicly, and so I took a lot from this interview to tell you guys. this interview will also be posted in our show notes. Okay. You can hear all of it, see all of it yourself. I think it was like an eight minute long, eight or ten minute long interview. It really wasn't that bad. So, but I will make sure it's in our show notes for you. Brandon also credited both his family and Missy's family with help with helping them survive all of the diffic difficult years. Despite everything they've experienced, Brandon expressed pride in the women his daughters have become and the way they've continued supporting one another throughout their lives. And I think hearing directly from Missy's family gives an entirely different perspective on this case. We've spent so much time discussing the surveillance footage, the strange behavior of the person, and all of the different theories investigators have considered, but for Missy's daughters, this isn't just an unsolved murder. This is their mother. Yeah. It's the woman whose Facebook posts they still read when they miss her, whose pictures they keep displayed in their home, and whose absence they'll continue to fill during some of the most important moments of their lives. Ten years have passed and the girls have grown up, but the questions surrounding their mother's murder remain unanswered. And while the family has found ways to move forward and support one another, they're still waiting for the day they'll finally learn who took Missy away from them. Despite 10 years passing without an arrest, the investigation into Missy's murder remains active. In April 2026, the Midlothian Police Department released an update confirming that the case has not been classified as cold and that detectives are continuing to pursue new information. In fact, the investigators report reported reviewing more than a hundred leads in the preceding year alone, showing that the case continues to receive attention even after all this time. Wow. Yeah. The department has also been working alongside Texas Rangers and other law enforcement agencies to re-examine evidence and explore advances in forensic technology that could potentially provide new leads. You have no idea how difficult this was for me. as a sports person to read this. The Texas Rangers. It is a thing and it bothered me. I was like, the baseball team? And then I kept going. I was like, no, that's definitely not the baseball team. According to No. What? No. No. No. I'm sorry, ma'am. Mr. Chuck Norris himself did not go through I don't know how many seasons of Texas Walker Ranger and we did not we did not have Talladega nights where they were named. Texas and Walker. Walker Ranger, yeah. W I c I s I had to stop for a second. Sh Kay. Huh? For you to just think of baseball. If the Walker was in there it'd be different. Texas Rangers. It's it's you obviously did not watch it. You obviously don't watch baseball. Ew no, I watched the Savannah Bananas. I'm gonna keep going. She knows baseball and I know Chuck Norris, What a life According to reports from April of 2026, a Texas Ranger investigator had been working directly with the Midlothian detective assigned to the case, bringing additional resources and experience to an investigation that has now stretched across an entire decade. Although authorities haven't announced any major breakthroughs or identified the person responsible, they remain hopeful that the new evidence or information from the public could eventually lead them to Missy's killer. For now, investigators continue asking anyone with information about what happened at the Creekside Church of Christ on April 18th of 2016 to come forward. After researching this case, I think one of the most frustrating things is knowing that investigators have actual surveillance footage of this person believed to have murdered Missy. They've spent years studying that footage, examining evidence and following leads. Yet more than 10 years later, they still have not been able to identify who was underneath that riot gear. And while there are plenty of theories about what happened that morning, we still don't know whether Missy was specifically targeted or if she unknowingly interrupted someone who had just broken into the church. We don't know what brought that person into the church in the first place, or exactly what happened during those final moments of Missy's life. But what we do know is that Missy went to work that morning expecting to teach a fitness class, just like she had done so many times before, and she never made it home. before I get into our favorite part. Do you have anything you would like to say? I've been I've been saying it the whole time. I've I've I've not saved anything in this. I don't know. It's it's it's so weird to have so much information, but no information at all. Like I Is that whoever did this is related to an officer. Mhm. To be able to have that gear. That's the thing that's like it that it's it's God, I feel like a cliche just being like, It's a cover up. But like it's so weird, like there's so much and like so we only have surveillance on the part of the parking lot where she went and parked, but we don't have any surveillance around it where we can find another vehicle coming or going from the scene. We have the one parking lot but we don't have any like gas station. Like we got a timeline really quick to go ahead and pull gas station surveillance. It's twenty sixteen, it's not two thousand. So here's my thought on this really quick. before you continue with that, I genuinely believe that the police have a lot more than what they are releasing. And it's been ten years. What's the point of hiding it at this point? What I don't understand. They've kept the autopsy to themselves. They've kept Yeah, they they haven't even released like how she's actually died, like what actually happened. All I can tell she died from a fatal head wound. Yes, but like they don't they obviously have more surveillance of inside. I genuinely believe have surveillance of Of whatever altercation occurred before getting into that room. Yeah. I genuinely, genuinely believe that they have more surveillance footage that they have not released. And I don't understand why. It's just like Maggie Long, if some of the information they had would have been released within the first couple weeks, it would have been so much different. Yeah. And I feel the same with this because There ha there couldn't have been that many cars on the road at this time in this area. And I know we have intersection footage, I know we have gas stations. It's twenty sixteen. There is way more C C T V footage out there that they could have had within the first twenty four, forty eight hours that they needed it. And if they have it, that's fine. But like why wouldn't you There's just in my mind, there's just no way they don't have a car. Or at least a couple car options coming in and out of the church at that time or in that area that they can run and look through. Unless they can't get license plates, which I get, or being grainy. Yeah. But like that's what I'm saying is that like is this the son of a police officer? Is this a nephew? Is this somebody related in there? Maybe with like some learning dis you know, like mental disabilities. Yeah. I wanted to tell you I had to look this up really quick, because I usually do. I don't know why I didn't. The population in Midlothian, Texas in twenty sixteen was twenty eight thousand and thirty four. Twenty eight thousand. Twenty eight thousand two eight zero three four. As of twenty twenty six it has almost doubled of forty eight thousand eight hundred and thirty four. So it's not tiny tiny tiny, but it's not fucking huge by any means. I just made myself think of something with what I said there. Say it. Do it. Do it. It just looks like somebody just messing around in a building, right? Yeah. And and they look to be older. Yes. Not teenager. Yes. I agree. And we have an interesting walk. Yes. Nobody's coming forward with information. What if this is a mentally handicapped adult with a police firefighter session like that, parents have bought him things or Halloween costumes or yard sale, whatever. And this parent has recognized that this is their child and doesn't want it could be very possible. Absolutely could be. I feel like we'd have a lot more to go off and stuff like that. But it would explain the nothing being taken, stuff being thrown around, the just randomly doing stuff here and there. The and if the car in the firearms parking lot is related, driving around turning lights on and all you know what I mean? we have Mm-hmm. So yes, there could be somebody out there with information, but they don't want to Expose the Expose with who it is because also they're probably gonna get held responsible and accountable as well. At this point probably. Well, in general because you have You know. Yeah. So I don't know, that's just kinda thought I had whenever I said that I'm not gonna lie, when I one of the first times I watched this footage, my mind instantly went to Bianca Ellis. Instantly. At the like with the knife just like kinda slashing around, swinging. Like that. Yeah, and like walking 'cause the way she was walking, like teenage boy careless of like because they're way more destructive. They would have been really destroying in doing stuff. Yes. But at the same time, what really gets me is that fucking riot gear. That's why I'm thinking that maybe... It's April. There's no way this person has had this for Halloween. That was six months one way and But that could be six months the other way. But if we're talking about a mentally handicapped adult who lives at home with his parents who let's say his mental age is fit. It could be. With how scrutinized the surveillance footage was, if this person was walking around that town though, they probably would have noticed it and said something. Or the tunnel vision was so heavy on Brandon and Randy. That nobody was paying attention to other people. And they could have possible could've moved. And you know what I mean? I'm just From what I'm understanding of where this town is as well, is that it's near Dallas. Yeah. I figured since it's a this person may not even be from here. I don't we don't know. We genuinely don't fucking know. Could be somebody passing by, could be somebody visiting a relative. Yeah. We had that one case where the guy literally was just driving and stopped and murdered the family. Yeah. So I mean there's just there's so Mm-hmm these cases are the ones where I'm like, listen, you guys have so much evidence and you're not getting anywhere with the public. release more evidence. at this point it's been ten years. How many of these details are really going to only be known? yep. Give more so that people can do it. Like if they would have given more, like maybe things would have triggered people in their day that morning, later in that day of somebody or something. I completely I genuinely, genuinely believe that this these police have more than what they're telling the public. And it's a little frustrating 'cause I guarantee that more could help. Yeah. But I I don't know. Maybe it couldn't. I don't know. I think it could. Release some shit, guys. I promise you it'll probably help. I just don't understand why keeping things like some some cases that are like this ten years old have so much kept close to the vest and then other ones absolutely everything. Everything fucking everything. And I'm just like Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And the ones that don't release everything Kinda give me a little bit more vibe of the police fucked up somewhere in the investigation and handing everything over would expose that. Sorry about Maggie Long, but we we we learned that that part of that was that. You know what I mean? And maybe they're also terrified that it is one of their own and that releasing this information could fuck that up. And then turn everyone against them. Just because there is so much kept. Yeah. And it is like that. That's what's making me think that it is somebody in one of these officers' families and it's gotta be a higher up one. Yeah. Kendrick Johns, I don't you know what I mean? I do. Just something is off. Yeah. I want to hear what your guys' theories are. Because you guys come up with theories that we don't even think about. So if you have a theory that we haven't thought about, or if more on top of a theory we're talking about, tell us. Please. Leave it in the comments. You guys are great on YouTube, leave it in the comments. If you listen on Apple, put it even in a review. I love I love podcasts that have theories and questions in the reviews because it confuses the crap out of you. Spotify, you can actually comment on our Spotify episodes. Do it. so go ahead and do that. We want to know what your theories are on our Facebook, on our Instagram. posts. We also have that for the episodes. Go ahead and comment there if you want to. Please. As we come to the end of this episode, I want to shift our focus away from the investigation for a moment and remember the woman Missy was outside of everything we've discussed today. Missy was someone who genuinely enjoyed helping other people. She spent part of her career teaching children with special needs before eventually discovering another passion in health and fitness. And even though those careers might seem completely different, they both allowed her to do something she loved, which was encouraging people, helping them grow, and showing them that they're capable of accomplishing anything. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a wife. But above anything else, she was a mother to three girls who meant the world to her. Missy spent years raising her daughters, creating memories with them, and supporting them as they grew. and through the stories her friends and family have shared, you really get a sense of someone who loved life, valued her relationships, and enjoyed bringing people together. Whether she was helping someone through a difficult workout, spending time with her family, and encouraging a friend who needed a little extra support, Missy had a way of making people feel like they mattered. Her passion for helping others wasn't limited to her career. It was part of who she was and it was something the people closest to her have continued to remember. And that's the Missy Bevers I want everyone to remember. Not just the woman whose case has received national attention, but the outgoing little girl from Jacksonboro, the young woman who became a teacher, the fitness instructor who believed in her clients, and the mother who loved her daughters. Which brings us to the question we ask at the end of almost every episode, we forget a couple times. Did we get justice for Missy Bevers? Nope. Unfortunately, no. More than 10 years after Missy's murder, the person responsible has still not been identified or held accountable. Her family continues to wait for the answers they deserve, and investigators are still working to determine who took her life. If you have any information about the murder of Terry Missy Bevers, Please contact the Monlothian Police Department. at nine seven two seven seven five three three three three or Crime Stoppers of Ellis County at nine seven two nine three seven seven two nine seven. Even information that seems i insignificant could potentially help investigators move this case forward. My hope is that continuing to share Missy's story and keeping her name out there, someone who knows something will eventually come forward. Because Missy deserved to make it home that morning. Her daughters deserve to grow up with their mother, and her family deserves to know who took her from them.
