St. Philip Catholic Church: Jesus says in today's gospel, do not let your heart be troubled. That's something that we all need to hear. Because even in good moments like this weekend when so many of our children receive their First Holy Communion, ⁓ still feel uncertain. But right ⁓ that, ⁓ says, ⁓ me. And then says something even more powerful. I am the way, the ⁓ and life. Not just guide, not just a the way. Now think about what just happened here this weekend. Our First Communion children came forward. Hands open, ready, and receive Jesus for the first very time. That's not a milestone. That's the beginning a new time in their relationship with Christ. Do you remember your First Communion? or no? ⁓ Me I was Because the same Jesus who says, I'm the way, is the same Jesus who now comes into them in the Eucharist. Let me speak to the children did their First Communion yesterday. Where are kids? Did you receive First school meeting yesterday? Raise your hands. Okay, we have one here. Okay, got it. ⁓ Parents, they wake good today? Fast? Okay, good. Yes. So you guys receive Jesus. means ⁓ you are never alone. When you feel afraid, ⁓ is with you. When you don't know what to do, ⁓ is with you. When life ⁓ confusing, Jesus is still the way. And for the rest of us, there a gentle reminder too. Sometimes children understand something we forget. They come forward with trust, with openness and with joy. No complicated question. Just, I you. And that's faith. Now look at the first reading. The early had problems, real ones. People being overlooked. was tension. But the apostles stayed focused on what mattered most, prayer. and staying to Christ. And the Church grew. That connects directly ⁓ we saw this weekend. If we want the student to stay more close to Jesus, if we want that First Communion to mean something long-term, ⁓ we, as community, have to show them the way. And we have Adeline being baptized today. ⁓ parents and godparents. You have a great job to do. Make sure the airline keep in line. And that's what St. Peter reminds us in the second reading. We are leaving stones. means for us, ⁓ children, the parents, Godparents, we building something together. A church ⁓ where is real. Where Jesus is known. Where the is loved. Here's an invitation today for our First Communion kids. coming back to Jesus. This is just the beginning. was talking to them yesterday to be very excited about their second Communion that's gonna be today. For parents and families, help to stay close to Him. Bring them Mass. It's so hard I'm in confession and you know some kid come and say, father I haven't been to Mass for three weekends. I said, how old are you? 11, 12, whatever. He's yeah, that's not in you, it's in your parents. Pray with them. them what faith ⁓ like. And for all of us, to that simple truss we this weekend. Jesus says, not let your heart be troubled. Why? Because He ⁓ the way. And now, ⁓ the Eucharist, ⁓ is ⁓ us. So we pray, Lord, help to close to You, to walk ⁓ in Your way, never take for granted the gift we receive each Sunday in the Eucharist.
