GLP Will Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Green Lanterns podcast. I'm your host, as always, Will Smith of Sector 2814. And on today's show, it's the big one. It is the Ring review that everybody has been looking forward to. About a week and a half ago, I did my first ring review for a Lantern's Ring, which was these cool guys right here, made by Willpower Made, and it's Lantern Rings. put it on, it looks good, got a cool feel. These are the rings that I would define as like if you're trying to ball on a budget. These are $60. They've got plenty in stock. Quick turnaround time, WillPowerMade has been ⁓ very responsive to anybody messaging him looking for a Lanterns ring. Again, Decent quality. Overall, I would give it like an eight out of 10 if there was any negative feedback about it. I only had that obviously it doesn't feel like a very expensive ring, and it shouldn't, but also on the bottom and on the bottom of the inside, it's got like these dots or bubbles that threw me off for a little bit. That being said, everybody had been waiting for the Ring Foundry ring to make its way to my mailbox and for me to give my thoughts and opinions on said ring. Ring Foundry in the fandom is viewed as a very, very much high-end ring maker in terms of the quality that they put out, customer service, excellent, like people rave about their Ring Foundry rings. So when they were making Lanterns rings, I was very excited that they were just putting one out, but they were also iterating and making changes to it based on more and more footage that we have seen. And they've gotten to the point where In my opinion, they've nailed the look completely for what the ring looks like in the show. starters I gotta give props because they ship theirs in some Green Lantern you know bubble wrapping and I think that that is for I mean there's nothing Green Lantern on it but it's green green bubbles and I think that that is dope that's just like the start of the presentation then I learned some feedback from the last ring review I did I'm gonna show this to the camera slower I'm gonna try to be less distracting with my movements so you guys can get a good look and the camera can focus on the things that I'm talking about. And then in post, I'm also gonna add HD photos to the screen so you guys can see them in all their glory. Plus, if you want more detailed pics, go to my social media. But what does the ring box look like that the Ring Foundry Lantern's ring comes in? Boom. I thought I was in like, House Targaryen type. This waxed seal of the Green Lantern logo. That, that's classy. When I saw that, I was like, dang, that is so cool. Well done, right off the bat. Good first impression here. And then, You open it up and again, I'll try to show it slow. There's the baby. There she is. ⁓ yeah. That's getting a good shot right there, boy. And yeah, mean, everything about the moment your fingers touch this. Immediately, you know this this is high end I Said on the other one like you wouldn't try to do damage with it You wouldn't really like fight with it But if you're trying to cosplay and take it somewhere and show off and like I said ball on a budget More than okay to do that This this is the ring that you're gonna want To take with you. This is the ring that you would wear to the cons and people would be super impressed This is a ring that is going to last you a tremendously long time. I have... I wore this for like six hours today when I was at work. I worked for an airline and I tried to put it through its paces and you know, see if it would start to get like distorting in terms of coloring. If anything felt cheap or that it will like get knocked off. I have really no complaints with this ring. I've said when it comes to the Willpower made ones that I feel like anywhere you go, people who watch the show people who are into the Green Lantern fandom, they're gonna see you wearing the Willpower made ring and you are going to get a passing grade. It's not much of an issue. However, if you wear the Ring Foundry ring, this is like getting A pluses across the board on all of your schoolwork. I... The base of the ring itself, it also has that weathered damage look that I liked for the Willpower made ring. This one has it as well, but the actual part that goes around your finger, this is much higher quality. This is not just A tier, but maybe two or three tiers above that. This ring cost, I believe it was $279 or $289, and it's kinda hard to see here, but maybe you'll see it better in my pictures, but like, The crushed emerald look that's in here is so slick. And when the sun hits it, when the sun hits that baby, I'm trying to see if I can get as close as I can get it where it will focus. If I click that, boom. think this centerpiece, whatever that is, I think it's made the same as the Wellpower made one. But everything else on here is like a metal of some sort. It is significantly heavier. You feel this in your hand immediately. Like if you were to, it's not gonna hurt you if you drop it on your foot, but you will definitely notice when you are wearing this and when you're not. And not to a bad point either. Like you're not gonna put this ring on and think to yourself, like you're gonna forget that it's on. You know, you feel it, it is there. ⁓ When it comes off, your finger definitely feels like you just had something heavy that you've been wearing for a bit come off of it. It is not the most expensive ring that I have. I have this ⁓ Manly Bands ring that I got for the wedding. That's more expensive than this ring. This Ring Foundry ring for lanterns is a better ring. I have a Rings of Power... That's probably not going to focus at all. But that's... This ring is called like a Ring of the Gods or something. And it was worn by a dwarf in the show. This ring is the most expensive ring that I have. The Ring Foundry Ring for Lanterns is by far the most impressive and best feeling ring of every ring that I have. and to be completely honest, it is not close. And now I know I sound like a shill for the Ring Foundry. But I want to be clear. I have been telling people on social media that, look, if you don't want to spend a bunch of money, but you want to collect every new Lantern Ring that comes out, definitely get the one Willpower made. $60, you cannot go wrong with it. But if you want something that you are going to be ultra proud to put into your collection and know that it's gonna last a long time and feel good about it, know that it looks good. If somebody were to go to like your ring shelf or drawer or whatever and pick it up, they're going to be impressed by it. Say what you want for, like another thing, it's so hard, I know it's not gonna focus. I'll just have to show you the pictures of it. But even down to, if you can see, like the actual green, it's raised up. It's raised up in the, ⁓ that showed it a little bit. off of the base itself. Like the attention to detail, the effect that that gives the ring, makes it look even more 3D than what it is, but it's like, if you had it in person, you would see it, you would notice it, other people would notice it too. It's just another thing that I think that they really nailed. And again, look at pictures side by side, maybe I'll be able to put one up, of this ring foundry ring and the lantern's ring in the show that they put on that dash that they're wearing throughout. This looks just like those. And my favorite part is that crushed emerald look that they have going on. And when I'm out walking the baby in the stroller, trying to get my steps in every day so I can maybe be in better shape by the time ComiCon comes around. When the light hits this thing, it is a thing of beauty. ⁓ If you get this, you would be proud of this. Now, having said that, to get this ring right now, it is not for sale. If you go to Ring Foundry's website, which I will share here, I'll try to. Chrome tab. When you get to their homepage, which is just theringfoundry.com, when you get to the homepage, they're gonna ask you to join their newsletter. If you want to know when this ring will be available for sale or if he's got any leftover from the current batches that he was working on and you're interested in buying them, being on the newsletter, putting your email address in there and getting the alert is the one way to know. So if it does come back up for sale soon, you can get it before it sells out quickly again because let's face it, the more people that know about this ring, the quicker it is going to sell out. It is an absolute one for one match for what they have in the show and the truth of it is... The truth is, DC, if they make their own lanterns ring, and I expect them to, why would they not? They had a website up that was a placeholder for some merch for the show. I assume that they're gonna make a lantern, I assume that they're gonna make rings. I'm sure they're gonna be decent, but if we look at, I might knock a bunch of stuff over. Ignore that. But if we look at what they had for Superman, for Guy Gardner's ring itself, it's decent. It's something that you would get and you wouldn't be ashamed of having it, but it is absolutely not the highest quality. What the Ring Foundry has made is 100 % going to be better quality and a better ring than what DC puts out on the shop for mass consumption. And that's just the truth of it. My recommendation, again, has been if you are ballin' on a budget and you don't have a lot that you are able to spend towards a ring, because, you know, the economy is what it is, you gotta save your money, I understand, get the Wellpower Made $60 ring. But if you are not in need of any sort of penny pinching or being frugal and you just wanna get what is the best and probably what will be the best for a long time. Go to the Ring Foundry, sign up for their newsletter, and when these become available again, hop on the train and get one because you will not, I'm telling you, you will not get a better Lanterns Ring than the one that they are selling. If I could grade it, I like to always have negatives that I can point to to not give things a perfect score, just so that there's always something that can be approved upon and I don't look like a complete shell, but. I would give this a nine to a 9.5 out of 10 in terms of a grade on the ring. And the reason I'm doing that is because the only thing that I think that they could have done better, and I don't know how they would do it, because I'm not a ring maker, but the only thing that I would have liked to have seen is if there was some way for it to still look this pretty, feel this good in the hand, but also be able to glow somehow. I know there's glow rings out there and they usually don't look as good, just being honest, but if they were able to find a way to do that, this would be an absolutely perfect, perfect ring. I can't give higher compliments to the ring foundry than what I've already shared in this video. They did not know the score of this review or anything like that beforehand. You guys are seeing it the same time as they are. It's as perfect or as close to perfect as you can get for a lantern's ring. They should be super proud of their work. And DC, you should probably hire them or reach out and try to work with them because you should want people to buy high quality stuff of your stuff and they're making the highest quality of the stuff that you would in theory make. But maybe y'all can work together. I don't know. That's it for me. Again. by Heavy Grey this, it's a nine to a 9.5 out of 10. It's damn near perfect. Would love to see it glow. but I really don't have an honest to goodness real critique for the ring compared to what we have seen in the show, at least in the teaser so far. Beautiful, well made, well worth the money. I don't feel any regret at all getting it at that price point. Very happy and excited that I got it when I did and I don't have to wait for it to come in again. You can compare this to the other review for the Willpower made ring. You decide what you want or maybe you don't want a Lanterns ring at all, but then. Why would you be watching this? I don't know. When this comes back, buy it. You're gonna want it.
