brandon: And welcome in to two guys down two hundred pounds. I'm Brian. I'm Brandon. And we're gonna jump right in here. We wanna thank Ryan for last week. Came in, did a little talking with us. Can always be kind of nerve wracking coming on, even though we're not, you know, we're not live TV or live action, but it is a little me and Brandon had to get used to it. Yeah. Kind of weird. Took a few times before we got I guess you wanna say normalized to ⁓ talking on here. You you get a little nervous on the first first few episodes before it starts become ner nerve wracking or stop being nerve wracking. So ⁓ Yeah, I mean it can be nerve wracking at first, but ⁓ thought Ryan did a good job and we're gonna check back in with him here in I don't know, ninety days or so. Yeah, ninety days. I mean he may be on a few times just to check in on him and ⁓ we gonna get a five K in, Brian. Mm. We're gonna get a five K in with Ryan. And you gonna get in one one with him too. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I I know that ⁓ I'll tell you this. I he normally weighs in on Saturday and I think it was Think it was Thursday. I don't know, it really irrelevant what the day was. It was Wednesday or Thursday, but he always weighs in a couple days early just to get like a pre-check, I guess. And I think he texted me Thursday and was like, ⁓ the scale lies. The scale lies. And I said, you know, I've already told him don't don't jump on before you have to or whatever. But I I think he jumped on and he he hadn't lost anything as of like Thursday. And ⁓ and not to mention he's been sending me messages and texts about him out walking, out out there at football practice. So ⁓ he's putting in the work. I know that, so that's how you know the scale lies. Mm-hmm. I'm gonna text ⁓ first thing. I didn't ⁓ got a little busy today, but I'm gonna text him ⁓ tomorrow morning and see what the see what the scale set on all ⁓ Saturday. But but an issue we touched on last week, didn't really dive into it. And I know I get a lot lot of questions about it. I know Brandon does because it happened to him, but ⁓ we're gonna kinda dive into what happened to Brandon and even the effects of or you know, the effects of losing weight and doing the surgery and I guess just what happened in general and kinda go through some things there. Yeah, so ⁓ I told Brian I know w we had planned to have Ryan also I really didn't talk about it last week and I was figured that, you know, every time I go out in public and everything, everybody's always asking me what the story is and I still haven't seen a lot of people, so what better way d doing it than doing it on the pot? Get it all out in the open, baby. So ⁓ I mean obviously surgery's been two weeks now. ⁓ and before that I'd went I I'd went to work on a Wednesday and I had a early meeting and ⁓ the meeting went great. I thought I thought the meeting went great. I felt great. I ⁓ I left the meeting. As most of you probably know, some people do know, some people don't know, but I like to stop by Starbucks before I start my day. And I got Starbucks or ordered my my same old coffee I always get. And ⁓ I started driving down the road. I drank the whole thing. I I'm not the type of person who just slow slips So s slow sips coffee. I take it down as quick as I can. And I was headed to my first client for the day and I got to their house and I felt kind of like shaky jittery. So the first saying it clicked in my head, I was like, Dang ⁓ did this lady just give me like a triple shot of espresso or something? Like I I was like, I've never felt this way before. And I I kept just putting it off on this on on the Starbucks lane, maybe she messed up my order. I had it mixed up with somebody else and gave me a bunch of extra shots of express espresso. And ⁓ because I've had energy drinks to where I drank too much and I get the little jittery, the little shakes, and that's kind of what I have. So I I had gotten to my first stop and I I had ⁓ took care of that client and ⁓ my shakes and started feeling cold started getting worse and it's like, you know, it's like By then it's like nine o'clock in the morning and it's shoot, you know, Georgia weather we're ninety degrees probably in the morning, probably felt like a hundred. And so like I'm a little cold shaken at this point. I'm like, well, let me go to my next client's house and let me see how I feel. Maybe I'll start that client and ⁓ just see. Maybe it just wears off. Maybe it was just the the three shots of espresso I thought the lady had gave me. And ⁓ Well, I wasn't feeling too hot and so I called my boss, I was like look, man, I think I need to go home. Something's wrong, something's not right. ⁓ and the first thing that comes out of his mouth was, Bran, you got any Advil in your truck or tyinol? Like just pop something and just go. Get it done. Yeah. I mean, kinda co kind kinda calling me out like I was a sissy or something, Brian. I'd asked if you needed something else, but we we we ain't gonna go down that road. Yeah, I told him, I said, Man, I I this ain't this ain't a Advil situation. This is like I need to go to primary care and get this taken care of. So I jet back, get my car, start going to ⁓ to my primary care, and it just starts going out of control. I start shaking, I'm freezing, it's a hundred degrees outside. Like I could legit put on the heat in the summertime driving this appointment. It just gets worse and worse and it may bend my nerves too. I get to the doctor's appointment. ⁓ they do my they they do my blood pressure. My blood pressure, my heart rate was like one forty. I mean, dude, it was booming. From just driving. You ain't working out. Nah, that yeah, that w yeah. Well no working out. There wasn't. I mean, unless that lady gave me us three shots of espresso, then ⁓ yeah, no, it was nothing. So I get to the doctor, they do it. And then they immediately pull in the EKG machine. The first thing that pops in my head is, dude, there must be something wrong with my heart. So I start freaking out even more seeing the EKG machine pull in because I'm thinking, now they think there's something wrong with my heart. Now I'm thinking I'm gonna die. So then my heart rate goes up more. Then they run the EKG, everything comes back normal. My heart rate starts going down to 129, which the 129 is still super high, but it's better than 140. ⁓ at this point she was like, I don't know what's wrong with you. They've tested me for COVID and the flu and ever you know, all your simple viruses, all of it came back negative. At this point I'm like, Okay. And she's like, Okay, well, you know, if you can walk downstairs and do the x ray, you I'll I'll just let you go home. Or you can just wait it out, you know, see what tomorrow what you feel like. And I was like, Fine, yeah, sure. I can get up and walk, no big deal. She was like, but I need you to stop and make an appointment at the front desk. I g I start walking to the front desk and everything turned white. Like in my eyes, everything. I bend over, I put my hands on my knees, I thought I was gonna fall out. I told her, I said, I said, I'm not walking down to the X ray machine. There's no way. I mean, you're talking about me getting on the elevator, going down, I think I'm on Level three, I gotta go down to level one level one and still walk to the x-ray room. That that right there, there was no way I was gonna make it. So I was like, Y'all are gonna have to push me in a wheelchair. And Grant, like I told the the girl that was helping me, the same girl who actually got me in for an emergency visit, which her name was Aliyah, super nice girl. ⁓ I was like, You gotta push me in. I was You're gonna make me feel like a nine year old dude who can't walk. And I go on down there and they're giving me crackers and and juice as if like, you know, I I don't even know what the point I guess I mean your blood sugar low, something. ⁓ For whatever reason. So she wheels me down there, put me in the x ray. X ray comes back normal because they're checking me for ammonia pneumonia at that point. So that comes back negative and they're like, Bran, you really need to go to the hospital. And I'm like, dude, I'm not going to the hospital because they're probably gonna tell me, they're probably gonna give me a bag of fluids and send me back home. ⁓ so they call my wife because they said I couldn't drive. So Nett comes up there and picks me up and they're like, ⁓ Brandon, we really want you to go to the hospital. I'm like, I'm not doing that. And I told him, I was like, just take me home. We'll figure it out. Yeah. So I go home. I start just pounding electrolytes, water, everything you think of as if maybe I had the flu or something. My heart rate's going down. I've got it down to 98. The the doctor calls me again later that evening. It was like, I've been watching you, and I I see you didn't go to the emergency room. If you're not gonna go to the emergency room, at least come up here and do your blood work. So I'm like, all right, cool, you know, yeah. I'll do the blood work. I go up there, do the blood work. have to wait until the next morning. So I go back home, I sleep at the house. ⁓ as low as I've got my heart rate at this point is ninety two, which is still super high. Especially for resting. Yeah, I mean you're talking my average heart rate I think is As low as sometimes seventy-two. It could be lower, but I mean you and I don't never even watch it at that point. But yeah, yeah, I'd say around seventy-two. So you're talking ninety-two. I mean, that's still high. And so I get the results of the blood work before the doctor calls me and I see and everything in the blood work says abnormal. Everything. Well, the first thing I know is the look at for myself is white blood count. And the boy for normal white blood count cells, it needs to be a seven. My white blood count was at twenty four. So you're talking triple. Triple the amount of the normal rate. So I knew it was something wrong. So I figured, once again, I just thought my body was fighting off a virus, but I wasn't 100% sure. Well, by later that afternoon, the doctor calls me again, was like, you really need to go to the emergency room. If you don't go. You're probably looking at in three or four days, you're gonna need a blood transfusion. So at that point I'm like, ⁓ god, okay. Maybe she is a little serious here. Maybe this is more of a s bigger situation than I thought. Well I calling it was like, I gotta go to the hospital. So I go to the hospital. We run all the same tests. EKG comes back normal. They swab me for like 27 different viruses at one time. By this point, I'm sitting in the hallway of the hospital. They got me. They don't have a room for me in the ER. They literally just have me in a recliner with Annette sitting in a chair next to me. Looking like a poor little old dude. Well, the lady comes back and says, Well, we found we found something out. You have rhinovirus. And you know, the first thing we do is we Google rhino virus. And the net looks at me and goes, Brennan, I swear to God, if we're here for you to have the common cold It ain't gonna be good. And I said, Annette. This ain't no common cold. I was like, there's there's something more going on here than just a common cold. So a few hours later they end up getting me into a room, doctor comes in, doctors like, Honestly, Brandon, we have no idea what's going on. You have the rhinovirus. ⁓ you're probably gonna be here a few days, but what we do know is your goma septus. So we're gonna start you on IVs for antibiotics and, you know, try to figure out where where I'm leaking from. Mm-hmm. And ⁓ So they give me another they give me a CT scan of my chest. Everything comes back to normal except for I did have a little bit of liquid around my heart, but that could be from the infection. Yeah. So at this point, they still didn't know. This is this is Thursday. So ⁓ they they're doing blood tests on me, I felt like ⁓ every two hours at this point is what it felt like. They've been giving me antibiotics. Thursday comes around around. We get to Friday. They're like, the antibiotics is working, so so we know you do have an infection somewhere. Well then Friday morning the doctor walks in and he literally he's like he's like and the number one question they all kept asking me was, Have I been out of out of country? 'Cause at first they were thinking it was like I I don't even know, some crazy virus, I guess. So then ⁓ Doctor comes in, he's like, Can you think of any scratches or bruises on you? And I'm dude, I can't think of nothing. And he literally he rips the freaking covers off me and he starts at my toes and just starts pressing everywhere up my body. So he gets to my stomach. Well, the left side of my stomach didn't really feel anything, but on the right side, it didn't hurt. It felt, I don't know, maybe a little sore, maybe. I I don't even know. But At this point in my head I was just trying to help them. So I was like, I am a little sore in my stomach when you press down. And then he and I don't even know if he truly felt anything, but he was like, I think I feel something maybe, but let's get a C T scan on your stomach. So I'm like, Cool. Well the dye from the from the ⁓ C T scan of my chest, I think you have to wait twenty-four hours. So I literally had to wait twenty four hours from Thursday to Friday afternoon to get my C T scan on my stomach. So then they ⁓ it was like four o'clock they do a C T scan, said it take an hour and a half of two hours to get it back. Well, two hours come rolling around, this guy in a full on surgeon outfit comes walking in and at that moment I knew I was like, this ain't I mean anytime you see not the doctor but a surgeon walk in and he's fully suited like he just got out of surgery, you know it ain't good. So the general surgeon, he comes walking in and he said, Well, we have good news, we have bad news, and ⁓ the good news was is that they found the infection or found where they thought the infection was coming, which the bad news was is they had found a mass that was eight centimeters for you know, from people don't know what eight centimeters is, basically size of a baseball. And ⁓ he he says you the mass pushed on your stomach, which caused a tear in your stomach, which caused the septus. So we're gonna have emergency surgery on Saturday at three o'clock, which end up getting pushed back later. So ⁓ dude I start freaking out. Never have surgery before. I mean the biggest surgery I've had, which ain't even a surgery, is getting getting my ⁓ my teeth pulled. My my ⁓ wisdom teeth wisdom teeth out. So that's about as far as the surgery's come for me and I knew what was going on, so it wasn't nothing that I wasn't getting put under like I was here and the doctor told me it was gonna be like a three hour, four hour surgery. I ain't never done that. I was terrified. Yeah. And ⁓ So couple people come visit me in the hospital. My best friend Seth, my brother came, ⁓ my mom and dad were there. ⁓ I felt like I was on my dying bed. Everybody's coming to see you at the hospital. Nobody I mean, I'm I'm going under and you know, you just got everybody by your bedside and you're like you know, you're you're scared to death, but you're also trying to be a man even though you're like a big teddy bear and like a big baby. I did shed a few tears, I'm not even gonna lie. ⁓ But so they wheel me down and just to get a little funny story here, I will get a little funny funny little story. So they will me they will me down to prep me to get to get ready for the surgery. And they start talking to me and asking me all these questions and then all of a sudden I was like, Man, I gotta pee. And ⁓ I was like, What you know, what do I gotta do? I was like, I gotta pee or whatever I was like, you know, can't I need to go before we go to this. Go to surgery because, you know, I mean, obviously I didn't know, but you know, I was like, if I go to sleep, probably gonna piss on somebody in the surgery. So I probably need to let them know I need to go pee. And the next minute I know, this lady hands me a canister. Well, now two ladies walking in. They're not leaving. They're just staring at me. I'm staring at them and this is kind of awkward because I'm like. I'm thinking they're just like, okay, we'll put it under the covers, piss and let's get over with it. But you know, you get pissed shy. You're like, I have no idea what's going on. And I'm like, you know, as scared as I am, I'm like, ⁓ ma'am, ⁓ and she's like, What? Spit it out. And I was like, Well, ⁓ I gotta pee. You gave me this cancer, and I don't know if you want me to pee with you in here or out, but I was like, I'm kinda pissed shy and like we're like we're all locking eyes and they're Finally they kind of pause like, ⁓ no, no, no, we're leaving. And this whole time I'm thinking I gotta piss in this cancer with them watching. Watch. Watch. I mean, we were like the whole time we're locking eyes, and when they gave me the cancer, they just sat there as if I was like, Okay, just piss away. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So ⁓ So anyways, make a long story short, I go in there, ⁓ they're talking to me. Next minute I know I'm out. ⁓ he did say He did say he told me before I may need a ileostomy bag just in case, ⁓ if he couldn't connect my colon back together, which he did end up connecting it, but I didn't know I was gonna wake up with the ileostomy bag. So, I mean that was a chan that was part of the chances that I was gonna have to I guess take, but so I wake up, I have this ileostomy bag, come to find out he did connect my colon, which is great, which means, you know, I can I can't poop later on. And the ⁓ the ileostomy bag is there just for safety precautions just to let my colon heal they connected. I'll go back in six to eight weeks and he'll do a reverse surgery, which then I'm you know back in the hospital a few days after rehe ⁓ reverse surgery, but ⁓ so I do have a ileostomy bag pretty much kinda like a poop bag, except for it's not poop, it's all liquid. It is kind of very awkward and I also have a beach trip coming up. So a poop bag on the beach with no shirt on is kinda weird. ⁓ but I don't really have any restrictions eating or I can go swimming, thank God, 'cause I thought that was gonna ruin my vacation. ⁓ I did buy some swim stuff to cover up my cover up my bag so nobody can just see a poop bag. But ⁓ that that's pretty much my story. ⁓ I know kinda going into it, I don't know maybe I don't know what maybe Brian was thinking when Brian was sitting there with me. So I mean what'd you what'd you think what was all going on? I mean, I don't know. I th I I just I I I guess everything happened so fast, right? It was just you know, it and for people who don't know or do know, right, me and Brandon live in the same neighborhood. We don't live but ten seconds away from each other. So normally, you know, I talk to Brandon Every day, every other day through text or whatever. ⁓ but I get home like I don't know if it was Wednesday or Thursday from football practice and Lauren's like, You know your brother's in the hospital and I'm like, No. You know, I I I guess I hadn't talked to Brandon that day and he had gone in and been doing all that thing. He didn't talk to me. so Lauren tells me a matter of fact I I don't I don't know if it was Wednesday or Thursday. I don't remember either. I know I did get a text from you saying why didn't I tell you I was in the hospital? And I'm like, dude This is like I'm trying to go through everything, trying to figure everything out, but also trying to and I did talk to his wife. I did tell his wife that I was in the hospital. So I I would just assume the message had gotten delayed or would get to Brian, not knowing that, you know. Yeah, and and I just by the time you get home from work, get ready for football, go to football practice, you know, you don't I don't get home till nine o'clock or whatever. So anyways, Lauren told me that. Still didn't know what it was. Right. I know Annette's texting the group, you're texting the group. Once we found out, I don't know if it was Friday, ⁓ but then it you know, the first thing was rhinovirus, like you said, and I'm like, you know, I already I already knew what rhinovirus was and I'm like, Come on, Brandon Cold. You had to go to the hospital for a cold. Give me a break, right? And then rhinovirus turned into sepsis, right? ⁓ Which the infection in the body and then I like, All right, we're getting a little more serious here. And then like Friday night or whatever, you know, you were like, Well, now I gotta have surgery ⁓ Saturday. I thought it was at noon, but three, it didn't really matter. It didn't happen till later on in the day. Well, Abigail had ⁓ Abigail had softball Friday night and softball Saturday morning and Tate had a football game and ⁓ we ended up watching know, Brody and Gabby, ⁓ you know, the weekend. So we're rocking five kids that weekend. ⁓ five kids. Five kids. I'm changing diapers and I ain't changed a diaper in eight years, it seems like ⁓ but ⁓ it n nothing honestly nothing even really I didn't really think much of anything until the surgery thing came out and then Friday night I was like man I I need to go see Brandon, right? Like not that not that I mean I g I guess you don't see kinda see me on my deathbed. Yeah, you don't you don't really know, right? Like anytime you go under the knife, you get, you know, sedated and you and you're under. ⁓ I mean you don't ever know what's gonna happen. So then obviously things run through your mind, like, man, did I talk to Brandon enough? Like does does does br does Brandon the you know the Does he know that that I'm worried about him, blah, blah, blah. So I'm like, man, I gotta I gotta get up there and so me and Tate before his football game we go up there for a couple hours or hour and a half or whatever. And sit with him and it's it wasn't a like a a heart transplant, right? It wasn't I so I f I assumed y you were gonna be all right, but still getting up there ⁓ talking, but it just all it just all happened so dang fast and then you start Someone goes under you're Man, you you just it really hits you and you think about it and you're like, Dang, you know. Because it it it it really did. When and people say it all the time about things can change so quick and you don't know because Brandon's fine one day, and next day I know he's got a poop bag on his stomach. So we we you know, it just all it that you know, and granted we knew that was a possibility, but I'm just saying, you don't know and then You know, we're still Brandon didn't even say but but we're hoping, we think. The doctors halfway think, but we we we don't have results on the mass yet. Yeah. So we're still waiting on that. Yeah, so I went to a doctor today. I was ⁓ for most people I don't know, I do have anxiety. I do take anxiety medicine and so with my anxiety I think of the worst. So as of s you know, Sunday, Sunday I'm like And my appointment's on Monday and we're recording this on a Monday or Monday night. And so going into it, like I was terrified. Like like I've never been so scared to go to the doctor just 'cause you just don't go in there by yourself, you just don't want to hear the any type of bad news. And you know, you've just been thinking of nothing but the bad things, even though you wanna think positive and it's just just not good. And I get to the doctor today because he removed my staples. I had like twenty staples in my stomach from where they cut me open. And he's like, We don't have the results. Yeah. And I'm like, to me it was like a relief 'cause it's like I don't even want to know, really, to be honest, at this point. It I feel better just not knowing, but at the same time, of course you wanna know. Yeah. So yeah, at this point we still don't know. still The best thing the surgeon could do and he called the pathologist and he just said it was still gonna be a little while. Best answer he could give me was it just hopefully we get results soon. Yeah, well I mean I mean the the best news when you get the results is just that it was benign. It was just a growth, right? Like some weird growth. Yeah. I mean, you know, you could go down the road of the worst news too, but ⁓ I know that I believe, if I remember right, the Surgeon took it out, acted like he didn't think couldn't be guaranteed, but he didn't think that it was cancerous looking. Yeah, so the doctor, I I mean the general surgeon, I mean, you know, he does a lot of this a lot of the times. He did say that when he pulled it out, he didn't notice anything cancerous really about it. The only thing that that was really, you know, worrisome was just the size of it. Yeah. But I mean the size could be anything. Yeah. But, you know, who knows? I mean that's the reason why they send it off to really know, but I mean we're just hoping it's nothing. If it is, I mean I'm gonna be positive. We're gonna fight through it, we'll get through it. ⁓ Yeah, and obviously, yeah, we'll all we'll all figure it out. But if in it and s same way goes if if it is benign, right? Then ⁓ yeah, maybe it's a little setback, right? Maybe Brandon can't go to the gym, you know, for the the eight weeks or ten weeks he's out, but it's just something. A little setback. Little set you'll be you'll be you'll be right back in it here soon enough. It'll fly by. I mean, the the positive today was when I seen the surgeon, he did upgrade me to working my way up to forty pounds. I can lift forty pounds. So so we're getting somewhere. You need straps for that. ⁓ I may need some straps for that. But the only blessing in all this, and like I told Brian and I told my wife is that. A year and a half ago had that had I found this out being four hundred pounds basically, like I don't know that I'd have been able to go through the surgery or if they wouldn't even be able to pers ⁓ perform the surgery or put me under being that big because that's always the risk they always talk about. And then just the recovery, like I don't know that being four hundred pounds, I would have been ever been able to get out of that bed to even do all the stuff that I was able to do to get me out of the hospital. I mean I I wouldn't hundred percent agree. I d I think the recovery would have been way different had you been four hundred pounds versus like they still I mean they still do surgeries on big people. Yeah, absolutely. Right. I mean they don't they if it's an emergency surgery, they're gonna do it. Whether you're four hundred pounds or eight hundred pounds, so I I still think they would have done it, but I I agree that I think the recovery would have been way different. Yeah, I mean who knows? I mean being four hundred pounds instead of Me being in the hospital for six days, I could have been in the hospital for freaking fourteen days or twenty-one days because my body's so big. Yeah. Not to mention like this ileostomy bag's already hard enough and I'm not I mean, like I said, I was in the hospital and I was weighing two twenty one. I mean I my belly is I mean, I'm not gonna say it's flat by any means, but when you got a big belly and and all the rolls and everything with this ileostomy bag It's not gonna connect and it's always gonna leak and with the liquid that comes out it's pretty much acid and it just eats your skin up 'cause I went through it for you know, a week or whatever. But yeah, I mean that you know, I mean that's kinda where where Brandon's at. I think we covered everything. and I know that everybody's asked me, always asked how Brandon is. He looks fine, he seems fine. I mean other than you know, not working out or or doing whatever, seems like a normal dude, doesn't look any different, still acts the same, you know. Yeah, and I I I do wanna I know I keep putting it out there on social media and everything, but I d I do want to say thank you to everybody that's prayed, called me, texted me. I mean, y'all people that I never even thought would have would have even been by my side through this all ⁓ have come out of nowhere. People that me and my wife didn't even know we had a village with, that now we have a village with that's done everything for us. Brian and Lauren took my kids on. My kids had a blast at their house. I didn't even think they even wanted to come home or didn't even think they would want to come home from Uncle B's house and La La's house and then they got all their cousins, which their cousins are freaking always amazing to ⁓ Always wanting to play with ⁓ always taking care of ⁓ So the I they had a blast where we were gone. But I mean the main thing is I just appreciate everybody praying, calling. And even I know we set up a GoFundMe. And I appreciate everybody from the bottom of my heart for ⁓ contributing to the GoFundMe. ⁓ at some point in time when I do get better, if there's some way I can help other people out or pay it for it, I I will do it. Most of the time, even myself, if I know the person and they have a GoFundMe on on it, I usually already contribute. But I mean, ⁓ but going forward, ⁓ now since being in this ⁓ and everybody giving me a hand. If there's anything I can do once I get better, I definitely would love to pay it forward and ⁓ do anything I can to help people. Well yeah, that's where we're at on that. Got a good up good got a good update on that. So hopefully that answers any questions. Got any more questions about a poop bag or whatever, just send send Brandon a message. He'll he'll help you out. But if we're about to get a poop bag, I can probably give you a Yeah, we'll we'll try to dive in to get a little more. That was that was a little ⁓ you know, twenty, thirty minutes of series, but we'll we'll get into our ⁓ over under. Yeah, so ⁓ Jumping into our overrated, underrated segment is brought to you by Power Washing by Chris. Gambakov for all your pressure washing needs. ⁓ he has his own Facebook. I say it every week. He's got his own Facebook, ⁓ Power Washing by Chris. We usually post my social media. I've been lacking on some things lately. Social media has been kind of slow because ⁓ of everything that's going on, but ⁓ give Chris a call. The dude will do it. Pretty much any type of pressure washing. The dude does a great job. Just give me a call at six seven eight six zero five six five six five. Again, that's power washing by Chris. ⁓ and we're also give him huge thanks for ⁓ sponsoring the overrated underrated segment. ⁓ we do this every week, but we really don't even give the guy thanks for it. So we really ⁓ like to give the dude thanks for ⁓ supporting our podcast. All right. First question, Georgia Tech becoming a big rivalry again. I mean I personally would say I I guess it's kind of a mixed question here. Do I want them to become a big rivalry again? Probably so, but as it stands right now, I still think it's overrated. I know there's been last year and the year before, it's been a little close, but I I need to see a little I need to see a little more. I still think it's a little overrated. ⁓ I mean we'll we'll we'll see what they were or see what they are this year. But I mean even last year, right? They started off hot, and then they lost felt like nineteen games in a row, you know. Yeah, you know, 'cause everybody was talking about them making the playoffs and then they fell off big time. So I just need to see a little more I need a little more proof in the puddin there. So I'm gonna say overrated. So ⁓ Yeah, I mean I've gone the last few years to the games. The games have been freaking amazing. Usually they've been crap, but the last two years that me and Annette's actually gone, they've been really good. Do I think they'll become a big rivalry again? If it stays on the path that it has been, then yes. ⁓ the last two years has been great. It's been a lot of fun. I to me it's probably overrated just for a simple fact is they did have hang Haynes King, which was a baller. They had their offense corner who left and went to Florida. I think they lost a lot. I don't know that they recover from that. I don't know that it'll ever really be a true big rivalry. So for me, it's overrated. The talk of the talk. We hear it all the time on ESPN, everywhere. Arch Manning. I don't it's a tough one for me. And I and the only reason there's only one reason that I'm gonna give this answer. ⁓ I think I'm gonna know where Brandon's going here, I think, but I don't know. Arch Manning, I he didn't play at the biggest, you know, high school ever. Gotta get it gotta get his feet wet. Didn't play what I mean, last year was his first full year, right? ⁓ starting. He played really well at the end of the year. ⁓ and then you got Peyton and Eli. Mannings. There's no way this kid can't be good, Brandon. I still think he's underrated. I think this year's gonna be his year. There's no way Peyton and Eli, they got the money, they got the genes. There's no way this kid isn't gonna be good. He played great the last like four or five games of the year. I think this year, as much as I don't want to lose to Texas or play Texas, I'd love to beat him. I just think this is maybe Arch Manning's year. Well, geez, Brian. You kind of surprised me on that one. Arch Manning overrated. Overrated. Over. This dude, I ain't seen him I I mean I ain't seen this kid do nothing. Honestly. He might have had four great games. This dude's been playing, was he, a junior this year? Yeah. This dude ain't done nothing. He he's been overhyped. Maybe, maybe he makes me my words, and I I'll come back on the podcast and apologize. But I'm telling you, I ain't seen this kid do nothing. And I don't I don't even know I still don't think he does nothing. Texas is loaded, but I don't I don't think Arch Manning's it. Overrated. Lane Kiffin being the elite head coach. So I I personally think that ⁓ Underrated. I'll say underrated because I mean I I think Lane is an elite head coach. I mean, I know he's had his trouble at Tennessee, right? Then what USC? Yeah. but then he goes down and and does all he does at Ole Miss. I mean, you can't say Ole Miss wasn't great. NIL maybe helps, maybe doesn't, whatever, but he turns Ole Miss into a really good program. I think he's very offensive-minded. I I I think that being at LSU, I will say this. If he does great, and there is no, I don't want to hear any of this rebuilding nonsense. There is no more rebuilding with NIL. Lane Kiffin, to be an elite head coach, he has to come into LSU and win right now. It can't take three years. If you're an elite head coach and you got all this money. To pay, you gotta win right now. And I think he will win right now. That's why I think it's Lane Kiffin's a little underrated. We ain't gonna agree on anything. So far starting out great. Lane Kiffin as elite head coach, he's a elite play caller. That's it. Elite play caller. I'll call him elite play caller. Head coach, not a shot. The dude, yeah, he he took all miss and the dude ran in Ran and ditched El Miss. We'll never know what the true Ole Miss team was because he ran out on them. But the dude chokes somewhere every year. Every year he chokes somewhere. He kind of reminds me of Dan Mullins and there's one other coach I can't even think about it. The dude chokes, man. He's elite offensive play caller. I look at him as elite caller. I don't look at him as elite head coach. Therefore, the dude's overrated. He's coming into LSU. I think he's bit off more than he should than he can chew. I think he should have stayed at Ole Miss. NIL will pay for the players, get you the players you need. There's no reason to leave Ole Miss. ⁓ And like Brian said, if dude's elite, he's got to win this year and there's no excuses. And I don't see that happening. So for me, overrated. Crystal burgers. And I don't I really don't even I don't even know where Brandon's gonna sit, but I know that there is not a more overrated fast food burger than Crystal. And I don't even know if I'd call it a burger. I mean it ain't big. It's tiny. It's more like an hors d'oeuvre, Brandon. Feels like a appetizer. But I don't know. I don't like them. There's nothing about a crystal burger that I like. I think they're gross. Wife Lauren is on the complete opposite side. She loves crystal, but I I mean it I think it's the worst thing on the planet. Well, to to go off of you, Brian, there's a reason why there's only like one crystal burger around in us in our town. I don't think there's another crystal burger around. There's a reason for it. They're all shut down, majority of them. It's because they're trash. May there might be one little thing I think was it like a little chick or something they call it. Yeah. Those may be the only thing that I might go there. But I couldn't even tell you the last time I even went to Crystals. Chris last time I went to Crystals was like ten years ago for my buddy Seth's wedding when his dad bought us a sack of Dadgum Crystals. Yeah. And I mean I I don't even know which e I mean, one burger, two burgers, little little crystal burgers. I I If you want to see how many hot dogs you can eat, I want to go into a contest to see how many crystal burgers I can eat. Because I guarantee you I can put 25 of them sun guns away. 25. Whoa, now. Overrated. They taste like trash, but I can put down 25. Don't believe me, buy a sack and let's do it. overrating. Leftover cold pizza. I I mean I I'll say this so I Cold pizza to me is great, but I also think it depends on what pizza it is. I like if if you got extra sauce on the pizza, then I think ⁓ leftover cold pizza is amazing. It is underrated, but like kids just get a cheese pizza, ain't a lot of sauce on there. You know, maybe a double answer here. I'd say overrated. ⁓ but for the most part, a You wake up in the morning, even for breakfast, Brandon. Cold slice of pizza is probably underrated in my books. Cold pizza to me, I mean, I'm not much of a leftover person as it is, but cold pizza and the freaking refrigerator, going in there, grabbing it out. Nothing great about it. There's nothing. There's nothing there's nothing about cold pizza that makes me want to wake up and look forward to grabbing a c cold slice of pepperoni pizza in the fridge. Kinda gross. Overrated. A one on a good steak. And I'm not talking about a sirloin good steak. I'm talking about we going down the little alleys or shoot the ⁓ we get we'll even say my favorite one of my favorite steaks that's that longhorns, the was it the Outlaw Ribeye. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I d I mean you could go down any steak place you want to. House, go to any any of these little alleys, like Brandon said, these big steak places. Who have really good steaks. And I'll say this can I eat a very good steak without A one? I can, but I'm not. That's terrible. I'm not. I I may love A one more than I love the steak, but I don't have to drench it on there, but I will put a little A one on there. As bad as that sounds. So I'm saying A one on a good steak is underrated. ⁓ I do love A1. I put A1 on everything. But I will say, me and Annette down in West Palm Beach went down to this five-star restaurant. Her ⁓ cousin was dating or could still be dating them, dating a guy that owns a five-star restaurant. And this dude gave us like this 50-year-old Wagyu steak. And dude, you ain't touching that thing with no A1. That steak was the best steak I ever had. And I'm like Brian, I put A one on everything, and that's the first steak that I'll tell anybody that I wouldn't touch with A1. It was cooked so good. And even the outlaw ribeye at Longhorns, just the taste of it, the juiciness of it, I can I can eat that whole thing without A one. But you give me matter of fact I cooked steaks tonight. I had a fillet mignon. And I put A1 sauce on it. ⁓ but I I definitely think it it's overrated. I mean, yeah, I I agree. I not I don't mean I agree. I can eat it without it, but I promise you, unless they don't have A1, they do not have A1 sauce, and I'll eat it. But if they have it, it's go. Well, I doubt if you go to Lily Alley Lily, Lil' Alley steaks. I highly doubt they're gonna have A1 sauce on that. been there yet but and if you did it if they did and you put it on your state and the chefs don't come out there and slap you at your right you're probably right so ⁓ the next one is sitting in your car ten minutes after you get home or longer in Brian's case. Yeah that I mean this this is an easy one for me it's it's underrated ⁓ I mean and I know Lauren Lauren will disagree and maybe a lot of other people disagree but Man, it's getting home, kids get out of the car, sitting there for ten, fifteen, twenty. Just decompressing, Brandon. Just just chilling. Decompressing or getting caught up on all your conversations. ⁓ whatever. It just nobody's yelling. Kids ain't fighting. Wife ain't asking you no questions. You just sitting there by yourself. Just sitting by yourself, underrated. Give me a solid fifteen twenty sitting by myself. Overrated, man. I get home. I don't want to sit in the car. It starts to get a little hot. I gotta turn up the air conditioning. Man, I don't want to be sitting in my car for 20 minutes. Matter of fact, a lot of times I'm talking to my best friend Seth and I'm pulling up in the driveway. I'm like, look, dude, I just pulled up. I gotta go. I ain't sitting in my car for 20 minutes. I'm gonna pull up, get out, get inside. Overrated. ⁓ next one is this. Wife saying I don't care where we eat. Yeah. And I think that I think a lot of people have seen this on social media, right? All the same and it it's not just about where we wanna eat, it could be at home on what do you want to eat. Yeah. And the problem becomes is that I say, Hey, what do you want to eat? She says, I don't care. And then I name out five things and none of those five things are good enough. Yeah. Well, if you didn't care, then the first one on the list should have been all right. Right. But there's always a reason. So her saying I don't care is overrated because she does care. Yeah. She she wants to eat what she wants to eat, which is fine. Which is fine with me. Just tell me what you want to eat. A and I think they do that because they're hoping the first thing that comes out of your mouth is something that That they wanna eat, but then when they realize it's not, they're like Yeah. And it ⁓ honestly, a lot of the times now, Brandon, Lauren, you know, I'll say, What do you want to eat? And she'll say, I don't care. And then I will purposely throw Taco Bell out there or something that I know that she doesn't like, just so I can hear her say, No, I don't really want Taco Bell. Well well, if you didn't care, then Taco Bell would have been just fine. Taco Bell would have been nice. But so, yeah. ⁓ Definitely overrated for me too. ⁓ we go same thing as Brian. We go through the same thing. And that says I don't care. And then you name something and she's like, I don't really want it. And it's the same thing. It's like, well, I say I don't care. It just like once again, just tell me what you want to eat. Mm-hmm. ⁓ majority of the time I'm the one that really don't care, and I'll eat whatever you want because half the time it's pretty much whatever you want anyway. Yeah. It I it don't matter. So I say that all the time. She's like, what do you want to eat? I don't care. And I promise you, the first restaurant she names, I'm okay with ninety nine point nine percent. I'm like, all right. Yeah. Unless we ate it like two or three days in a row is probably the only time that I'm like, nah. Yeah. But other than that, dude, I really I half time I can eat anything. Well, we got we got Sports here. We're gonna do ⁓ college football. I know we had I guess technically week zero. I guess that's what they're still calling it, right? This past season. Yeah, week zero. ⁓ I guess the biggest game I felt like was really the TCU and UNC and then you had ⁓ Virginia versus NC State. Yep. And Virginia blew out NCA NC State. Virginia looked pretty promising, but the big big story here is UNC beating TCU. Chapel Bill beating TCU. Yeah, that that was ⁓ that was a wild one 'cause, you know, TCU was favored seven and a half, six and a half, eight and a half. Yeah. I think you told me at game time it was around nine and a half or something. Yeah, for ⁓ for me it ended up being like, yeah, nine nine and a half or nine or something. Yeah. And at that point I decided I'm like, I'm not I'm not betting on that. Yeah. So I did take the money line and I lost. God I told Brian and them to put the put their house on on TCU and I mean it was a ugly game, but Chapel Bill won. So real quick, what we're gonna do here. We told you we would a few weeks ago. ⁓ we're gonna go down the list here. Georgia's football schedule, right? Both of us are big Georgia football fans. So I don't know if we're gonna all agree on this, ⁓ but we're gonna pick our winners real quick all the way through the end of the season. I can tell you first two weeks, Brandon, I don't think we have to really talk about a lot. Yeah, and and just for you viewers out there, I I would like to say that me and Brian aren't the biggest homers. Yeah. I mean, yes, we are doing the Georgia football schedule, but I mean we'll really if we really think we're gonna lose the game, I mean we'll we'll really say it. Yeah. And I mean it is hard to do preseason. 'Cause you don't really know what everybody is, right? There's always gonna be surprise, you know, you don't know who it is. But, you know, Georgia won and week one, you know, Tennessee State. Week two is another high school team. West Virginia. I mean West Virgin Kentucky. Kentucky. ⁓ so you know, I can only imagine me and Brandon both both both think wins there. You know, that's not and and and we're gonna go back over this w towards the end of the season just to see where we both ⁓ both go. But obviously you can't spend a whole lot of time on this, but Georgia at Arkansas, week three. What you got, B G? I mean, Arkansas really ain't been that good. Even with Sam Pittman was there. I know he got fired. I I I mean, first year head coach, Georgia. I mean, we're we're coming off two easy games. We're building momentum to going into Arkansas. We take a W. Yeah, I I mean I'm right there. I don't even think I need to say anything else. I don't I don't really foresee that. But this this this this week four could be a tricky one. Oklahoma at U G A. Yeah, so ⁓ their quarterback, Oklahoma's quarterback does come back, which, you know, is big for Oklahoma. ⁓ their defense is usually pretty solid. ⁓ I just think me personally, we're at home. I like us being at home. Not sure if it's gonna be a night game or whatever, but I w I would assume it's probably gonna be probably a night game or a three thirty game, regardless. I take home field advantage. I'll take Georgia's offense being better than Oklahoma's. I think we squeak it out. Yeah, I and I mean I'm right there. My biggest factor, my biggest factor for that whole game is just being at home. Yeah, being at home. Georgia doesn't lose at home. Right. There may be some Bama fans who would say otherwise, but typically Georgia doesn't lose at home. So I'm gonna go Georgia as well. I don't think Georgia loses at home. to Oklahoma and I gotta imagine probably gonna be a night game. It's gonna be rowdy. Crowd's gonna be in it. ⁓ and some of these some of these games too, I gotta imagine oughta be a pretty quick decision, right? Next game, Vandy at Georgia. ⁓ Vandy at Georgia, Kirby Kirby's Matt Matt about them flipping this Q B. I they lost a lot. I mean not much to say, I think Georgia takes Probably a twelve o'clock game. Yeah, easy. I I I would say Georgia routes them and they won't they won't admit to having resentment or whatever by them taking what the Curtis kid in something Curtis. Yeah, Jared Curtis. Jared Curtis flipped him from Georgia to Vandy. They they ain't gonna act like that, but that's gonna be that's gonna be Billboard material in the lock. Here here's your your your next big, big one for me is Georgia at Bama. At Alabama. ⁓ this is a tough one for me because I feel like Georgia's just now starting to get to ⁓ beating Alabama. I'm pretty consistent because Nick Saban's not there. ⁓ but I I know this is probably gonna be a night game. And I feel like I feel like Georgia, ⁓ Kirby can't let Bama beat them again like this like they did last time. I mean, beat the brakes off of ⁓ I I I I I I think we have a Bama problem, Brian. Yeah. I think we're taking a L. Sadly. I hope they prove me wrong, but I just until until we can start beating them consistently I mean w we beat ⁓ last year, but we beat ⁓ in the S C game after we, you know, for a second chance. After we lost to ⁓ at home. Got our butts beat. At home. And it seems like every time we're on the road to Alabama it's not good. Mhm. Yeah, I I mean I don't know. And I'm right there with Brandon until Georgia proves it wrong. I mean, I if you're gonna take an L it's probably gonna be at Bama, at their house. Like Brandon said, maybe a night game. ⁓ it just hasn't gone well down there. As much as, you know, Debore, he's not sabin, but I don't know, man. I just can't There's something weird w it it's a Bama thing, man, and I don't know what it is and I mean, it used to be my excuse used to be it was Nick Saban and now it's like they ain't got Sabin and they've still somehow out schemed us, outcoached us, everything. And it's hard for me to still hard for me to roll with it. Now if we seen them again in the SC championship, we would beat the brakes off of them. Yeah. And I I I'll go for that every time. ⁓ Auburn at Georgia. ⁓ Auburn, you know, once again it's a it's a rebuilding year. Rebuilding years for them, new head coach. ⁓ they're at Georgia. It's gonna be another big game. ⁓ I don't necessarily think it'd be a night game, but it'd probably be a three thirty game. But it's it's another big game at home. I don't see Georgia losing it. They're coming off the Bama. If they lose the Bama, they're coming back up for revenge. I'm taking Georgia. Yeah. Yeah, I'm the same way. I I'm right there with Brandon. I mean, Auburn Head coach rebuilding. I guess I just said earlier, not really a rebuilding year with NIL, but it it's still Auburn doesn't have Lane Kiffen. They don't have a ⁓ super proven head coach. So I'm going Georgia at home. ⁓ next game's a little different. Yes, Halloween night. Halloween night. Even though I mean the game's at three thirty. We already know that. Florida versus Georgia, but it's at Mercedes Benz ⁓ on Halloween, three thirty. Halloween ought to be a pretty sweet day. Yeah. ⁓ but a lot going on. Braves could be in the playoffs or the World Series and it could be a big huge weekend for Atlanta Sports. Yeah, it could be huge 'cause I th I belie I don't know what game I think it's one one there is a game. I don't know if it's six or seven. Yeah. One of the two games, World Series games, is on that. So if If Braves do yeah, if they're in it. It's gonna be a wild weekend for Atlanta Sports. But go ahead, BG. ⁓ for me, Florida, Georgia. ⁓ I'm actually gonna try to go to this game, maybe. Not sure. Thinking about it since it's in Atlanta. ⁓ I do feel like it's gonna be more of a Georgia fans there since it's in Mercedes Benz. ⁓ not sure I I you know I've never seen this game played outside of Jacksonville, so ⁓ I know typically they go half and half. I know Florida's gonna do well. I mean, you know, they typically, you know, fill it half, but they are once again, they're rebuilding to new head coach, new quarterback, I believe. ⁓ once again, I feel like it's more of a home game for Georgia for this one, so I'm gonna take the debut of Georgia. Yeah, and I I'll say this, I know it is a you know you know, they what Faulkner, Buster Faulkner went over there and you know, new head coach, but I And and they took Georgia Tech's back at P. T. Philo. Yep style, I don't know. And he didn't look bad at Georgia Tech. No. I don't really know what they got going on down there. I think the game's probably gonna be closer. I think, you know, Faulkner knows Georgia. Yeah. He's played ⁓ you know, at Georgia Tech, he's he's gonna know what's going on. I think it'll be a close game. I do think it'll be a close game, but I think there again kind of got the the the Georgia home field advantage even though it's not at UGA it's in Atlanta but next one Georgia at Ole Miss Georgia at Ole Miss They got Trandad old Chambliss dude's a baller man ⁓ had is It'd be easier if I could see Georgia play a few few times to really know how this defense I know the defense is supposed to be really good. Offense should be good. And it's hard not knowing what Ole Miss is really gonna be. I mean, we know their offense is probably gonna be pretty high power. ⁓ it's at Ole Miss. Mm. That's hard, man. It really is hard because I want to take the win, but your at all miss at their high power, man. We played them. They beat us in the playoffs. ⁓ this is gonna be a huge game. Probably a night game too. We might take an LBG. Yeah, un unfortunately, Brendan, ⁓ I don't I don't have to take as long as you do. I I'm I would love to go one and one if we're going Bama because that's the two games that I look at that I think losses. Bama and Ole Miss. If you can go one and one in those two games, I think you're doing all right. I just Trinidad is a dude, man. Yeah, it was shootout. And then and then the second game was j we couldn't stop ⁓ and they beat us in the ⁓ playoffs. No, we had some, you know, Bobo was missing and and what Christian Miller was missing. I mean, we had some dudes missing, but I don't know. I you know, I gotta imagine, you know, Trinidad's gonna turn it up, night game at Ole Miss, and I'm probably gonna go with an L there too. Damn BG. Sure, but I gotta think I'm gonna try to get through these two real quick. Just you got Missouri at Georgia. Not much to say I think they're gonna win that game. I I agree too. There's not nothing. Not a lot there. ⁓ South Carolina. I mean, we say there's not a lot there. Let's back up a little bit because we did You're right. And for say even when we're way better than them. Some reason they hang around. There's one year they were up ab up on us, a couple of touchdowns we had to come back. But yeah. I still think we take the win pac and we're at home. Yeah. The ⁓ next game, Georgia at South Carolina. Georgia out South Carolina is what Shane Beamer's still there. Georgia once again, I don't really care if it's out South Carolina. I think I think they route South Carolina. This is He's gonna be on his way out this year. I I just my only thing is that's fine, Brendan. You wanna give him a win and I I agree. I agree that Georgia probably beats him, but you know, South Carolina's got l ⁓ Lenora Sellers. Yeah. He's supposed to be a dude. He and it may be all they have. It may be. I don't know. I'm gonna have to see. But if all you got is one dude and that quarterback, you know, he's he's projected first round. you know, quarterback. So but if you only got one guy, I mean, I I think we can beat him. But if he is that dude, it may be tougher than we think. So you may want to star that one as a Yeah. I mean we'll circle we'll question we'll circle back around to it. Yeah. Final game, Georgia Tech at Georgia. Georgia Tech at Georgia. I mean like I I mean me and Brian talked about an overrated, underrated. I don't think they have enough. They lost their probably their best backup QB. They lost their offensive play caller Faulkner. I just don't think they're I A, I don't think they have the players that beat Georgia. Two, they just they they don't have the monkey. Yeah, I agree. I think losing ⁓ losing Haynes King ⁓ to me is almost like South Carolina in sellers. Right? I mean Haynes King brought them About as far as he he could go, right? I mean dude's a baller. Haynes King's a baller, but they ain't got him no more. I think that we go back to Georgia blowing out Georgia Tech. And it's at Georgia. And it's at Georgia. ⁓ next thing I'll say, I think we ended up with me and Brian both pretty much agreed on everything. ⁓ we ended up with two losses. Yeah, so ten and two. Both of the So ten and two and two. I mean, that puts us in the playoff. I do think we make the playoffs. Yeah. I think Brian makes playoff. It was up to me. I'd rather just miss the SC championship. Let's just go in and play. ⁓ but yeah, I think we legit have a shot at national title this year. ⁓ that's of course without seeing everybody else, but ⁓ ten and two, it's a great season. Yeah. Ten and two, not bad. I could easily see it at eleven and one. Even though I predicted the loss at Bama and Ole Miss, I do think they can win one of those games. I mean they could win both of them. I don't really know, but those are the two games that if you're gonna lose, you're probably gonna lose there. ⁓ but anyways that'll go back. We'll we'll touch back, you know, we'll get back on that. ⁓ we're fixing to get, you know, sports is fixing to get fired up, man. I mean, Georgia starting this weekend. You know, Braze Braves have been on a heater. I know they lost today to the Giants, but they've been on a heater. Blew out the Dodgers, swept them, swept swept the Rockies. ⁓ I mean, they're on fire. Yeah. And then Falcons start up. I don't know. You know, there's we there's probably gonna be a good good amount of talking on the Falcons just because, you know, I don't even know if they know who their quarterback is. I don't really know who it is. ⁓ but you know, we got another week for that. ⁓ we'll go down the the ⁓ Falcons schedule ⁓ next week ⁓ before they start. I think the podcast come out on Tuesday. The season starts on a Wednesday. Mm-hmm. So that'd be it. But anyways, ⁓ appreciate everybody listening.
