brandon: And welcome in to two guys down two hundred pounds. I'm Brian. I'm Brandon. And this week we're doing a little bit of a different episode. We got a lot of people who seem to just love the overrated, underrated. so it's always, hey, can you do this? Can you do that? so me and Brandon said, well, let's just do an episode with overrated, underrated. first, though, we're gonna thank Sean and Olivia with dockside nutrition. which is the one in Ackworth and it's TSP up in Canton. they run both and we were there last week doing an episode. Went great. thank y'all for coming on with us. And we'll try to do it again later on. but first we're gonna touch on a couple things real quick because we don't update all the time me and Brandon you know where we're at, where where we're you know what we're trying to do. so Just real quick, I'll t I'll tell you where I'm at. I'm still trying to lose as much weight as I can. still at the 130 pound mark, maybe a little give or take here or there, but I did, Lauren's been on me and on me and on me about doing the inbody at burn. suckered you into the in body. Suckered me into the in body. So I did it July seventh. July seventh, I think, or July eighth. But it's coming up. I got about one more week and then I think like next Monday I'll do another in body. so I'm kind of excited to see where I'm at, what I've lost, muscle gain, all that stuff. We'll see. I'm I'm hoping to hit the hundred and forty pound down mark. but still trying to lift heavy. burn up there where I go now. I've added a lot of bigger dumbbells. So we're doing we're we're we're we're able to Did you add straps? We're we're able no straps. We're not no straps, but little heavier weights added some hundreds and things like that so we can you know, getting up there. But where you at, Brandon? What you doing? So For me, I actually I went up and waited a little bit. I'm actually currently at two thirty eight. I'm trying to dial in on my micros this month. you might have seen me posting on Instagram my watch fitness app on the socials. I've been kinda lacking a little bit. I mean I mean I'm still doing good. I haven't missed a week or anything. I still go multiple days, but I just haven't been hitting it like I should be hitting it. Gram. I'm hoping to hit the gym about every day this month. That's with kids getting back in school, us getting back in routine. Gabby starts school tomorrow. So some things change. She's got cheer sideline cheer cheerleading and competition cheerleading. So I don't know what my gym schedule's gonna look like. That's gonna be coming up, but I'm trying to focus on I'm trying to get in a cut phase. I'm actually going to take a picture of the scale tomorrow to see exactly where I am. And then like I said, I'm dialing on my macros. I'm gonna go a full solid probably month, month and a half without weighing myself and just relying on eating right and trying to cut. So that's where I'm at. Two thirty eight, I think. I'm gonna take a picture. Maybe I'll post it on socials and just kind of weigh in on where we're going. I just need a little accountability. I need I gotta be gotta be in the gym. I did a race last month. I haven't ran that much as I have been in the gym, so I told the dude I work out with all the time that I wanted to switch up my workouts and start adding in my running back in again. So after that race I was a little winded and a little down on where I was in racing form. you would think not running as much wouldn't hurt you that much, but Little did you know. Yeah. That that race was a doozy. Yeah. Talking about races, we haven't touched on it in a long time. Brennan don't know. I wanted to talk about it this episode, so it kind of works out perfectly. But we got we are forty-nine days away from the beach. Now we may be fifty-two or fifty-four days away from the actual race. We don't ever know what day either. We don't set a date, we just kinda Brian just waits to see how many beers I put down that day. And then he's like, All right, we're racing. We we just we we just kinda go off the fly. But forty nine days to the beach. I have been so football started ac I guess actual practice started two weeks ago. First day we went five days a week and I know where this is going. And then the past past week, we went four days this week. And I don't do a lot of running. I just go to the gym and I work out and that's what I do. But so I told the boys that I gotta get ready for my race. So when they condition, I condition. So if they're running sprints, I'm running sprints. If they're bear crawling, I'm bear crawling, right? Somebody's somebody's running the workout. I'm doing it with them. And I'll say this I haven't done a lot of running, and I have been more sore than I've ever ever been in my entire life. There's not a day that I'm like, my God, I don't know if I can run. And I texted one of my football coaches, Jeff. We've talked about him on the on this podcast, but I texted him and I think it was, I guess it was Thursday. The kids had open house, so we didn't have football practice. Yeah. And I texted him and I said, I don't know if I can run Friday. I am so give the kids a day off. I feel like my Achilles are going to blow out it Any second. I'm sore. Everything is sore from running. because I don't think if you don't run, yeah, I think you're using different muscles than you than you do. So doing these sprints and and matter of fact, at the very end of Wednesday practice, I think this is what did it end. The dude running practice, he was like, All right, hundred yard sprint, and I'm like, hundred yards. Like, this is insane. So we do the 100 yard anyways. I text Jeff and said, I don't know if I can do it. And he replied back and he was like, It gets easier every day. And that's what I tell my football players every day. Because got the big boys out there huffing and puffing, and I tell them all the time, it gets easier every day. So I guess I gotta practice what I preach. And if I tell them it gets easier every day, then I need to listen to the advice. So, anyways, I've been running, I've been sprinting for about two weeks. That's been That's been under the radar. Brandon don't even know that's been going down. No, I I haven't, but which is kind of funny that all of a sudden now I ramp up my running and now you're ramping up your running, which my or me ramping up my running really would didn't have anything to do with the beach. But honestly, I guess it kind of does. But two, if I remember right, you did say Jeff listens to the show, right? Mm-hmm. So Jeff, if you could please, if you listen to this Send it to our socials of Brian running a sprint down the football field, please. Well, Jeff can't do that because once I started running. He started running with you. He starts running with me. And then another coach out there. Well, then there's another coach who started running. So we got like three coaches doing sprints with all the boys. All right, Jeff. One day at six something. I just take off, take off one sprint. Let's get one video of Brian. We need it for the socials. And the question is, Brian, are you beating any of the football players out there? Yeah, I I I beat some football. I don't beat the skill guys. You know, there's beating some linemen. I I I can beat some linemen, but I will say the other day it was Wednesday or Tuesday, we're doing a forty yard sprint. man. I did something to my knee. I something to my knee. So I think Wednesday I was going a little slower. but there's always a kid I don't know if they I don't know if his parents listen, but Eli. He's a lineman, big kid, but he he's always he always wants to bet. Hey coach, if I beat you here, we get to stop running or or hey, you know, and I'm like, I I'll take the challenge. he beat me last time. but there, you know, you gotta think those kids are also I'm 40, they're 10, and they're 200 pounds less than me. You know, they're 160, 170 pounds, they're smaller than me. So I gotta get it. I gotta try to get it. Man, there ain't no excuse to be letting kids out there ten years old smoking your butt. There's there there's there's some kids that'll smoke me, no doubt. I mean, at this point it's so embarrassing. I'm I might just tell that you need to line it up with them on the line. Why don't you come out there? I might need to come out there 'cause if I come out there, first of all you gonna get a little taste of what it's gonna be at the beach. Getting smoked. Yeah, you wish. But yeah, no, I just I mean I tell to run every day. We run twice a day, we run at the beginning of the practice and we run at the end of practice. So you're running both times. I usually I usually only run at the end. so you're cheap. So even Eli's over here, he's already a little worn out after practice while you just been standing around and he still smokes you though. He don't nobody smokes. We don't have any we don't have any I well, skill level kids smoke me, but linemen when we're talking about linemen Nobody Brian, they've been out there pushing the sled. And at the end of practice, you've probably been standing on the sled. Hey, well. And he still smokes you. Embarrassing, dude. Nobody smokes me. But I gotta find new co hosts for the pod. Well see, it'll get better. Bren, I just started running two weeks ago. My I gotta get my my my muscles back in go go time and breathing right. Brian, what one thing I don't need you to do is Blowing out a knee out there. No, we ain't gonna blow out a knee out. my knee, my knee, I ain't brand Brandon, I ain't gonna be able do this race. No, knee's all right right now. We're good we're back to good, but there was I did a a forty yard and I don't know. And not moving that knee rarely. But anyways, we'll jump into this. We'll do a little a lot of over unders today. We'll do a little bit of sports talk, but let's go ahead and Yeah, we're jumping into the overrated, underrated segment. Segments brought to you by power washing by Chris. Give a call for all your pressure washing needs. sidewalks, fences, houses, driveways, porches, gutters. Give a call. You can also find him on his social media at Power Washing by Chris on Facebook. Or you can sorry, man. If if anybody hadn't noticed, right, you can find him on his so socials. You can give him a call at six seven eight six five six five six five. Brandon's done came down. I don't know, something's out in the grass or something's growing. Brandon Brandon's a little sick. So if you hear some coughing and some Sniffling going on, Brandon Brandon got something. Yeah, working outside I don't know what's growing, but something's growing and it's getting every part of me. Mm-hmm. But the first first over under question we got is group text. And I I look, I I'm a big I'm a big proponent of group text. If I can send out one text and hit five people, I like I know there's other people out there that don't want all the notifications, blah, blah, blah. But, you know, me and Brandon have you know, and there's always the the there's always the dudes who never respond, right? Me and Brandon got a group text with me, Brandon and guy named Seth and and Brian and and it's like me and Brandon are the only ones replying and we gotta we gotta send out a search a search machine, search people to get Brian and Seth the answer. So sometimes we get a little we we we get a little get a little backed up because Brian and Seth don't don't answer. But I personally group text underrated, I love Dude, when you're in a good group text, it don't matter what it is. I think we're we're in a group text with all of our buddies on I think it's group me. Yep. For football. Hey man. They it the it is so funny and giving so much crap. If you're in a good group text, I love a good group text. if it's anything else, I really don't want to be in it. I don't want to hear my phone going off. If it's like just a bunch of girls like my wife and her friends and stuff, I don't want to be in it. Yeah. Yeah, now our our football our football our football group text for fantasy, you know, I mean there'll be times where I don't look at my phone for And I get I guess this is probably why people don't like group text, but I'll I'll get on my phone, I hadn't been on it for a while, and then there's seventy nine messages. 'Cause Brandon and Ant are going at it or you know whoever's going at it. But I maybe it may be that, but I still like a group text. There's a lot of smack talk on that, so I like it. Yeah. Group text good. Family matching outfits. That's whether you're going to the you got to take a family group beach picture that I'm sure we might be a part not we we are gonna be a part of that. family pictures, anything. I don't so I this is this is my thing. First of all, I'll say overrated. Now that's with a caveat of saying like a family picture. If you're just doing a family picture on the beach and the girls wanna do light blue or whites or whatever, that's a little different. But what I don't like, and I know there's people out there that do it, I got friends that do it. But if I go to Disney, I'm not wearing I'm not wearing a matching shirt with the family, right? I don't need a mama bear, a papa bear, and you know, three little bears, whatever it is. I don't want all that. so I'm gonna say overrated. Matching outfits overrated. Alright, for me and the beach, I first of all I hate taking pictures. I hate getting every family out there trying to take pictures, all matching overrated. If you wanna wear matching if you wanna wear matching stuff to Disney for the kids, I'm all for it, dude. I know you over here wanna be a bum and don't wanna you know, give into the matching outfits to Disney because you just want to be a hum bug. I'm matching. Give me give me Daddy Disney. Give me whatever. I'll go out there and support it for the kids, man. Don't be a hater. Yeah, I don't I just I don't know. I've seen too many family photos wearing those. I just don't like it. I don't know. But maybe maybe one day we'll we'll find out. the next one, I'll I'll take it. I'll take this one. yo mama. overrated, underrated, yo mama. Yo mama. I don't care how old I'll be. I might be 90 years old. And I'm still gonna say yo mama. You can bet y'all, but underrated. Get I it never gets old to me. Yeah, I I mean I'm the same way and there's probably I mean, anybody knows if anybody knows me and Brandon, we both say yo mama to everything. Lauren, my wife, absolutely hates it. I say it all the time. Matter of fact, the kids. I mean, Tate says it all the time. Abigail, she don't really care. But McKinley, my youngest girl, she is the queen of your mama. I mean, we can say anything and she'll always say your mama. We always do your mama. So I'm gonna say underrated. If you know me and Brandon, we're gonna say it, so you better you better just get used to it. I mean, not even that though. Our dad who's about almost seventy years old. Still dropping your mama on you. Yeah, yo mama. God, this one might get a little controversial here, but pumpkin spice. We're getting close to Halloween here in the fall season. pumpkin spice lattes, coffee, whatever. I personally this this is I know there's some haters, and I think I know where Brandon's gonna go on this, but I pumpkin spice to me is underrated. I will take I will take a good pumpkin spice anything. Give me a as soon as Dunkin Donuts brings out their pumpkin spice donut, I'll be the first one to grab one. I I I want you throw a pumpkin little pumpkin spice in my black coffee, I'll take it. Anything pumpkin spice, I am all about. I love pumpkin flavored items. I did not expect that to go to where it was going. I re I and the reason why I even picked this one is because I knew me and Brian were gonna be opposite on it. Or I thought we were, but not anymore. I'm same as Brian, believe it or not. I love pumpkin spot. Matter of fact, when Dairy Queen does their pumpkin Blizzard Pumpkin Blizzard, dude, that is the best thing ever. that's a fat guy move. It is, but man, I'm telling you. And I'm the same way as Brian, like pumpkin. I I really thought Brian was going opposite. I didn't I thought Brendan was going opposite as well. I never knew that Brian was about pumpkin, but dude, I look I mean, not so much in my coffee. I don't really care about coffee, but I'm pumpkin with everything else. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin, it don't matter. I I'm I'm all about it. I'm honestly surprised you went that way. I d I thought you didn't like pumpkin. I really thought we were gonna argue that one out. That's the reason why I put that one on there. But hey, I expect to hear some haters because I'm definitely gonna release that one out and see what everybody else thinks 'cause I I know. Pumpkin spice is almost like God I might have slipped my mind. What's the band? the band we talked about the other day. Nickelback. Nickelback. It's almost like that. Yeah. I don't know the hate on Nickelback and I don't know the hate on pumpkin spice. Pumpkin spice is a fall flavor, man. Just I never thought that would come. I'm telling you, I'm like sitting here baffled by this because I really didn't think Brian liked anything pumpkin spice. the next one is tattoos. Yeah, I don't know. I know there's a lot of people I know there's a lot of people with tattoos and and and I have a tattoo. I have a tattoo that I got when I was eighteen years old, you know, pr I don't know, few days ago. Put it on the socials. Everybody see pretty big. A few days after my eighteenth birthday, blah blah blah, I got an a tattoo, probably just because thought it was cool to have one. But I me personally I think tattoos are overrated. If I could go back I would take this tattoo off and not do it. I'm not gonna pay you to get it removed right now, but I just 40 years old, you aren't been this long. I'm not swelled. I ain't worried about it now, but I just think tattoos in general are overrated and I don't like Well, dang. God, what an awful take that is, dude. I got three tattoos. Honestly, I I don't regret a single one of them. I love all three. Matter of fact, I want to get A few more. I actually wanna finish out left one. I wanna add more. I wanna do as most of y'all probably do or don't know, I have a Georgia Bulldog on my left arm and I wanna add a Braves and like Atlanta skyline and I wanna add the kids initials on my arms and stuff. be underrated. I I think good tattoos look good if y if they look good. Now I'm not talking about these jail house tattoos or Basement tattoos, but a legit good looking tattoos I'm all for. I guess my thing is my whole thing with the tattoo is it looks great when you're thirty and forty, you're in good shape and you're rocking and there are some good looking tattoos out there. I'm not denying that, but I just what happens when you're what happens when you're eighty? When you're eighty and you you got a tattoo? Then all of a sudden you're wrinkly and it don't look good. Like that's my whole thing. Who who's looking at you at eighty years old? Your grandkids. Who's looking at you and be man, that's a good looking grandpa right there, that tattoo. Woo doggy. I'm I'm just saying that's why I I just think about the old you know, when you get old You got a full sleeve or, you know, you got I don't know. I just Just what, dude? You're eighty years old. You're if you even make it eighty, but two, did your A few months away from being six foot in the ground. Who cares what you got on your body? That's just me. That's why I think no. No, no go for me. That's terrible. next one is is we can do like a two part take or I am together. Family reunions or high school reunions. Yeah, this is another one I'm gonna say overrated. I mean, I just I like family reunions Family reunions maybe. Maybe. But it depends on how often you do High school reunions, you know, you do your ten year, your twenty year, and I guess we just had our twenty year a couple years ago or whatever, 'cause what, now we're graduated when I was eighteen. So now we're coming up here soon on fifty year. I just look, Most of the people in the high school reunion, when we go to a 20-year high school reunion, I ain't seen them in 20 years. So I don't really That's the whole point. I don't know. I ain't seen them in 20 years. I don't really care what's going on right now. If I ain't seen you in 20 years, it it's it's irrelevant to me. Now the family reunion's a little different. If you do it every year, I could see the point, but we don't do family reunions, at least in our family. We don't do them. So I'm gonna say overrated to both. And especially high school. I just if I haven't taught to you in twenty years Why do you want to start now? Why do I wanna start now? man, what a terrible take, dude. family family reunions I mean, I'm kinda like Brian. We we ain't never done it. I've never really been a part of a family reunion. I if there's good ones out there, yeah. w I've just never been a part of family reunion, so I don't really, you know, s see the benefits or whatever. If I'm gonna see you, we're gonna see Saint, you know. High school unions though. I'm all for high school unions. And the reason why Yeah, there's people I haven't seen in twenty years. There's people I ain't seen since I graduated. There's some I seen not too long ago. But I still like seeing everybody. Also think it's a great networking tool because you may see a friend you had great connections with that maybe y'all's businesses could conjoin or maybe you could end up being he's looking for a position and maybe you're that person that could fill it and that rec you know it reconnects y'all. I think there's a lot of benefits to things. also man, it's just fun reminiscing on old times, man, and seeing there y you know, some some reunions involve you know, kids and just seeing like what their kids are like. If they're like them, if they're as crazy as them, if they're wild as them. and just, you know, just reminiscent on old times. so for me it's underrated. I I think you could benefit a lot from a high school reunion. sadly, I think I'm in the younger generation where kinda like Brian where our our generation don't really care for reunions. I think everybody's like, well I see on social media. So yeah, Facebook. you know, if I want to keep up with somebody, I'll just get on social media. But I definitely think it's underrated. next one is is video games. I mean I think this is this is an obvious one if anybody knows me or Brandon. I think it's probably obvious. I mean I haven't played a video game. Every now and again I'll play Fortnite or N C double A with Tate, but for the most part I don't play any video games. I stopped playing those when I was a kid, Brandon. So I'ma say overrated video games and adults are overrated. Man, screw you, bruh. Video games. All right, so I Okay. Let's get let's get to where this is really going. Yes, I'm a 38-year-old man. Yes, I still play video games, but this is the only thing I'll say. I do not play like these fantasy games or whatever. Like I'm not playing these I mean, they're all essentially they're all just make believe games, but I'm only playing football and then I play Call of Duty. And that's it. Like there's no I mean, you can look on my thing. I don't play anything else. If it's not sports related or somewhat realistic, I'm not gonna play it. So but I do think and I just play it in my spare time when the kids aren't home or and you know, when that's doing something, it just gives me time to be a kid, I guess. But underrated for me, I don't th I don't see anything wrong. I mean, takes the time out, whatever. But underrated. I'm still a kid at heart. Give me some video games. Next one is this five inch shorts. So this one here, I I've always been I and maybe I I say maybe because I know the answer. I've always been the big guy and I've always worn basketball shorts that go three inches past my knees. But now that I've lost the 130, 140 pounds, I bought my for I bought, I think it was six pairs, I don't know what it was, but six pairs of shorts that were all five inch inseam. And now I've worn those so much that if I put a pair of normal shorts on that go over my knees, it feels weird. so I do like the five-inch shorts. I would say underrated, a good pair of shorts. Short shorts. Not super short, Brandon. I'm not talking I don't wear mine super high, but they are a few inches. A few inches you know, up above my knees. I am underrated. I like so much now I don't wear anything else. Yeah, I actually started really before Brian started wearing and I and I might mention something to Brian about it before he started wearing them. Dude, underrated, man. I was just like Brian. I I guess, you know, you just being fat, as I would say I was, or I definitely was, you just try to hide everything. Yeah. And now that I lost this weight, and I'm not saying my legs look good by any means. They they don't. They're not muscular or anything. I mean, it might be a little bit toned up, but definitely skinnier. Bro, I'm Thy what do they say? Sun Sun out. Suns out, guns out, normal for you. Thighs out. Mm-hmm. Bro, give me those five inch shorts. I'm putting them on. I used to hate on this dude all the time at work. All the time his name's Jeremy. Matter of fact, I I he's a listener. And that dude, he he will he would wear five inch seams. And honestly, sometimes I think he wears three inch, because I'm like, dude, there ain't no way That I could wear those shorts without my package sticking out. Mm-hmm. And I I gotta apologize to him because now I wear and I think they look good and I I I used to give crap from day one and he's a he's a bigger dude. And he had every right to wear and maybe it was a little jealousy on my part, but definitely underrated. I think five inch are awesome. Yeah. I agree. the next one is Halloween. Halloween, I I I personally think Halloween's underrated. I enjoy our especially in the neighborhood we're in now. I mean, there is one point two million people coming to this neighborhood and they got the four-wheelers out pulling the trailers with hay and everybody's walking around. You talk to everybody, the kids are running around like crazy, getting boatloads of candy. I think it's a fun night. It wasn't like Like even me and Brandon when we were kids, we had a bigger neighborhood, but it wasn't like this one. No. There are people everywhere and I think it's a fun night for parents and kids. So underrated. Brian also says it's underrated because that's the month of his birthday. Yeah. So come on, don't let nobody fool you now. Brian's like, Yeah, we have Halloween, I'm getting my birthday. I would say overrated, but I'm like Brian, things change for when Me and Brian, if y'all don't know, we live in the same neighborhood. but you you know as a kid, you know, you always went to those neighborhoods that were the best neighborhoods to be in to go trick or treating, and I honestly feel like our neighborhood is that neighborhood. Like people come to our neighborhood to trick or treat in. and like Brian says, I mean, we have four wheelers, we got freaking side by side side by sides pull pulling trailers. I mean, dude The amount of candy you gotta have for this neighborhood is ungodly amount. And I tell people all the time, I told my neighbors that moved in, I was like, Look, I know we're on the new part of the neighborhood, but if it's anything like like the other part, that you better be buying a couple of hundred pounds of candy because it's coming and our and even just our our side of the street is slammed with kids as well. Yeah, and unfortunately, like my side of the neighborhood, which it ain't but a you know, it ain't but a one minute drive to Brandon's house, but big neighborhood, but we're never there, right? Me and Lauren, we buy all this candy, dump it into a bowl. That's the only thing I don't like. So we we're not there, we're out with the kids, but we buy a hundred dollars worth of candy, dumping it in a bowl, and it's gone in about two seconds. Two seconds, 'cause nobody's there to monitor it. So you got teenager and all them, they just come and dump it all in their bag. That's the only thing. But Halloween in our neighborhood is under. New Year's Eve party. I I mean, me personally, I like a good New Year's Eve party. I guess it's more of just getting people together event, kind of like you and birthday parties last week, right? but New Year it just seems like in we typically will go back to Halloween. Typically we have a Halloween party every year. New Year's Eve party, somebody else in the neighborhood. Usually Jin, they do another pod, snatched up so catch them. But they do they do their Jen usually does a New Year's Eve party. We always go. I like it. So I'm gonna say New Year's Eve parties. Yeah, New Year's Eve party is overrated. honestly, it was fun, like my twenties, twenty one. It was awesome. Now that I have kids, younger kids, not so fun. I I mean I do go to don't get me wrong, but I could go without I mean me, Annette and the kids, we could be in bed at eight o'clock on or nine o'clock on New Year's Eve. It ain't that big of a deal. I I think I just think it's overrated. I I don't you know, whatever. It's a new year. Hey. Happy New Year, Brian. I mean, it doesn't change nothing. I I kinda like giving Brandon a kiss at New Year's. So That's disgusting. Lord. laughing emoji after everything. You know those people that text and they always gotta put the laughing thing after. I I I I'm I'm gonna say underrated because I I don't know. I I feel like sometimes I feel like I use emojis. I definitely use gifts, but emojis too. I mean I use emojis all the time, whether it's laughing or the big bug eye. I love the bug eye, emoji. I think emojis are underrated. I think you can kinda give a little context with your text because sometimes text can be, you know, misunderstood. So I I like to give a laugh or a, you know, something. Bird, give Brandon a bird every once in a while, something, you know, but emojis to me are underrated. yeah, I mean I emojis I I love good emojis. I love good gifts. Mm aftertex. underrated for me as well. I mean, I don't really have much to say on it other than I mean the next one I I don't know where we'll stand on this, but superstitions like for You know, if you guys have superstitions with baseball or football or whatever. Yeah, I'm gonna say underrated just solely because baseball and football, very superstitious. I mean, I write the lineup the same way, I do things the same way every single time, especially if you're on a and it doesn't just go for good superstitions, it's bad as well, 'cause if we're on a losing streak, I'll try everything In my superstitious power to change that up. I'll do things a different way. It will warm up a different way. Something is gonna be different. I'll change the baton lineup, like I'll do something to try to get something going. And then if it sticks, then it'll be a good superstition, and then I'll do it that way. So I am a superstition is underrated. I have a lot of Overrated. Overrated. Overrated. So who cares? Who cares about a superstition? You ain't gotta wear the same pair of socks or wear the same shirt or write the freaking line up the same way. Five if you're gonna win, you're gonna win. Why in the world do we have to change something up or keep doing something a certain way and hope for an outcome that's gonna change, like wearing your same Georgia Bulldog shirt or Wearing your same Alabama shirt every game. I think it was like Cal Caitlin DeBore or whatever wore that pull over all time. Cause they always won, then he loses with it. It all comes to an end. You just been lucky. You've been lucky the whole time that you had this superstition. Eventually your superstition is gonna run out. And then guess what? Then you gotta change that up and you're gonna come up with a new one. I got a new shirt. It's on a five game win streak. Here we go. then we lose. We got another one. Here we go. Like No, dude, there's no such thing as freaking superstitious. Whatever. It's stupid. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Get rid of it. Just go go about what you normally do. If you're not hitting good, guess what? Yeah, you're gonna change your lineup. If you're not doing something, if you're not playing good, winning, yeah, you're gonna change your practice. It's not a superstition. It's just something you're knowing you're gonna do. Change it up, but it's stupid. It's not a superstition, it's just changing something up. It's not it's not freaking a superstition. You you we could go on for days about this. Get me fired up. Let's go. Overrating. College offers before high school. I mean, I this is an easy one for me. College offer before high school, you know, is overrated. You don't even know what that kid's gonna be. He's thirteen, fourteen years old. Yeah, maybe you got, you know, Tim Tebow's brother or something, you know, something going on. You just wanna try to lock somebody in, but dude, that's way too early. You have no idea what these kids are gonna be. Let let play out. If you wanna offer sophomore junior year, that's fine. But eighth grade, get out of here, man. You don't know what that kid's gonna be. Overrated. I I agree with the same thing. I think eve even give you a plain example. I'm not just I mean, I I don't I always say I'm not a homer anyways, but for instance, like Kirby's smart kid Andrew got offered, I don't I th I think he's going into ninth grade. But it's like and he may be good, but come on, dude. We don't know what he's gonna be until he gets there his junior year. Like the dude ain't even played a snap on varsity yet, where it's actually better ball. And it's like we're gonna just throw these freaking college scholarships out there like they're candy. Like we have no idea what these athletes are gonna be. Yeah, they may have the tangibles, they might they may be six five, two hundred and fifty pounds. But dude You still don't know. I mean, what if he turns in this lazy piece of crap kid? Like I think it's stupid. Well, and it depends on the competition you're playing as well, right? Like you you offer a not seeing anything's wrong with this, but you offer a private school kid who plays in only private school divisions who maybe the talent level's a little lower and he's ballin' out, but he ain't playing against these seven A schools who got, you know, three thousand kids and are got these big six foot five D linemen and Got all these big talents. So I just think until you see him play a little bit at at least the high school level, man. And this is this is kinda going off of a tangent because this kind of goes I think me and Brian both felt this same way about this certain player. it's not no hate to him because he decommitted from Georgia and went to Vanderbilt, but the Jared Curtis kid. It's the same I've said the same thing even before he came to Georgia or committed to Georgia. he's a prime example. Like this dude Played in freaking private football. Mm-hmm. Private school football. He's not playing in freaking seven A football here in Georgia. Like the competition's different. I I mean, do I think he's a great QB? Probably. But him hi I I don't even know that the kid even starts this year, but I mean, everybody's all up in arms talking about how good this kid is. And it's like the dude was playing in private school, dude. Come on. Yeah, you don't. Anyways, off on the tangent there, we're gonna jump over to Super Bowl halftime shows. I mean I'll say this, I don't know what y you know, during the halftime, I don't know what you're gonna do. I like a halftime show no matter who it is. So I'm gonna say underrated because I do like to see the shows. I wanna see the people perform and what they got going on no matter who it is. I'm gonna say underrated. Halftime super Bowl shows are overrated. I I could care less. I don't care who's up there. I don't care if it's Bad Bunny. I don't care if it's Beyonce. I don't care if it's Justin Turnbull. I I I don't and I don't even care if it's Morgan Wallen. I I don't care about a halftime Super Bowl show. Honestly, let's just cut it out and get more football for all I care. Add another quarter in. I don't care. Let's play more football. I'd rather see more football. I don't care about Super Bowl halftime shows, really. Let's just see the game of football. That's it. Mm-hmm. I'm there to watch football. I didn't watch Super Bowl to watch halftime shows. I actually I'm more there to hopefully see a good commercial than I am a freaking halftime Super Bowl show. the next one. A good old mullet, Brian. Old mullet. So I you know there's a few good ones. I think you gotta have a mullet. I think a good mullet, a good, good mullet, not a bootleg mullet, a good mullet is underrated. I mean, I got two kids on my baseball team. I can't even now I'm Easton and Cooper. they both have mullets. Easton kind of does the whole perm, curly hair up top, long on the bot, but Cooper has a dang mullet. I mean long, super long. I feel like the dude's been growing it out for seven years. But it is a mullet of all mullets. I think it looks cool. And why not have a cool mullet when you're ten years old? Now, I can't grow a mullet. Brainen probably can't grow a mullet either. So it may be overrated for us. Don't try me. But a good mullet is pretty cool. I I have to say underrated on a mullet. I agree with Brian, dude. If I freaking I if I could grow one, I would love to have a good one. I don't know if I could, but freaking Just a good flowy mullet. I tell I tell Brian's son Tate all the time, dude, let's get a mullet going, man. Let's get a good mullet going. But I think Lauren kind of shuts that down a bit. But a good flowy mullet, man. I'm down for that. Brian's favorite here, Brunswick Stew. Yeah, this is an easy one for me. We talked about it. on previous podcasts, but Brunswick stew is probably the one of the most overrated. I mean, I'm sorry. Whoa. Whoa. Brunswick stew is probably one of the most underrated. Underrated foods. I could eat Brunswick stew just as a meal. I don't need nothing else. Give me three bowls of Brunswick stew. I'm good. Underrated. Brunswick stew I mean, I do like it, don't get me wrong. But it's not one of those things that I mean to me it's another soup. I eat soup in the wintertime. I don't eat it in the summertime. Yes, if somebody has a cookout, I'll grab it. But realistically, I I could care less about Brunswick stew. We can friggin' eat it in the wintertime, whatever. It's just another soup. I don't like soup. I'm not a soup guy unless it's chili. Other than that, dude, overate. I mean, first of all, real quick little tangent here. Chili is not a soup. Chili Some people call it Chili is not a soup. I mean, maybe some people make their chili soupy, but chili's meant to be in my eyes a hearty stew. I would say stew. Stew, not soup, because it ain't soupy. Mine ain't soupy. I don't know about everybody else's, but not soupy. Chili is a stew. Like Brunswick's do. I agree because I'm not I I said I don't count chili as a as a soup. I just hate soup in general. Even even in wintertime I could really care, but if I'm gonna eat soup it's gonna be in the wintertime 'cause it's so hot. I don't wanna be eating soup in ninety degree w weather. But yeah, I mean if we had say something Yeah. this one would be for the the ladies on the show. Brian, Taylor Swift. I look, maybe I'll get some hate on this. I'm not sure, but I don't see a problem with Taylor Swift. I'm gonna say underrated. People are gonna try to say my God, Brian's a Swifty. Her and her and Travis Kelsey being shown blah blah blah. Taylor Swift has some good music. There's nothing wrong with Taylor Swift. Underrated. I can jam out to some Taylor. What a Swifty. This is embarrassing. I this is so embarrassing right now. my goodness. Look, I'm not a Swifty. My wife's a huge Swifty. She went to her concert when she came to Atlanta. I wouldn't I wouldn't go. I her music halftime is annoying to me. I don't really care. Annette tries to play it in the car. I'm like, let's get this crap off. I've actually gone to a concert way long time ago live. She sounds terrible to me. I guess all the Swifties come attack me. But I'm just I'm not a Swifty, man. I'm not a Swifty. I'm and mentioned football. Once again, I watch Kansas City football. I watch it for them. I don't watch it to see Taylor Swift. Get every chance they get on camera they gotta show Taylor Swift. I could care less. Yeah, she's big, she's got a lot of money, but overrated. grocery shopping is shopping with the family. Hi, this is this is a this is a sore subject in my house. I know that just because of the last two weeks we you know, back to school shopping and we gotta get football cleats and softball stuff and cheerleading stuff and Lauren always wants to go together. And to me, there is nothing worse than grocery shopping or clothes shopping with a whole family. There I I don't want to do it. I have it stresses me out. I don't even have a lot in my life that stresses me out. I'm normally pretty go with the flow, but there's something about five people shopping. Like we went grocery we went grocery shopping today and All the kids wanted to come and Lauren wanted to come. And normally I do it myself. I go by myself. It's too much. We go to the grocery store. If I go and this is grocery store, I don't close shop. So I can say that. Well, first let me just say it's overrated. So if I haven't said that yet, it's overrated. But like grocery shopping, I do the grocery shopping. I can go in with a list and I can spend $200. If I bring Lauren and the kids, then it's gonna be $400. Right. They're gonna grab stuff and throw stuff that we don't need. It's probably gonna go bad. There's probably not gonna eat it. I don't want it. Same thing with going to Costco. We talked about Costco last week. Like I can't go into Costco with all them fools and spend under five hundred dollars. If we go to Costco and I have the family with me, it's five hundred dollars. I don't wanna do it. Stresses me out. We spend too much money. Grocery shopping with the family is over. Sound like we hit a sore subject. It's a it's a bad one, man. Somebody get it somebody get my man a beer. It is a god. Man, I didn't can maybe get you a counselor on this. I need something because it is I didn't know that was such a sore subject that we're we're bringing in here. Then I sorry, Lauren. I just don't want no part of it, man. I didn't mean to ask that question. I didn't know we were gonna I gotta put my waiters on for that one. Brendan, it just turns into all three kids want to push the buggy. Then we're fighting over who wants to push the buggy. And then Kiki pushes it and she's hammering some poor old lady, you know, walking down the aisle. Like I I just wanna run in, get in, get out. Dang. All right. Glad that's over with. think it's overrated too. I mean I said in the last podcast I think shopping's overrated. I'm all internet. I if Annette net just matter of fact today Annette made a grocery order, she asked me what I wanted, that's that's it, man. I I don't need to go in there with my wife or the kids and listen to them arguing or chasing Bertie down the aisle, trying to run fifty miles an hour, just trying to catch him running down the aisle. I j I don't want to do that. I don't have time to do it. If I do, I'd rather just go by myself and get what I need. but I'm not gonna go on a tangent like Brian. It sounds like Brian needs to go see a therapist about this. overrated. Well that that kinda ends that kinda ends our overrated over Underrated, overrated topics. we're gonna touch a little real quick on some sports just because there's a few things that I say a few things, two things that me and Brennan want to talk about. One thing big just because we're such big football fans, but the Atlanta Falcons, Brandon, they come out and we, you know, we sign Tua, and we got Michael Penix that we don't know nothing about, and we start training camp and we ain't even got a freaking quarterback. Yeah. 'Cause we knew coming in once we signed Tua, we already knew we had the most injury prone QB room that there could be. I mean you can ask for worse QB room than there could be. Yeah, so you start training him, you need we ain't even got a freaking QB brand. They have to go out and they sign Cooper Rush, which I'm not He's a backup I think at the Ravens. Yeah, I'm not even saying I'm not right, they sign him solely just to get Somebody to throw passes at practice. Instead of Matt Ryan. Yeah, Matt Ryan's out there throwing practice and he's 40 years old. And I mean, I heard a lot of the radio saying, man, he that dude can still sling a ball, but how in the world can we start freaking training, you know, training camp with no quarterback? W I mean they're saying that Michael Penix is still four weeks out. And and l and don't get this wrong. I think that Tua will be the starter. He's got some back at Back issue. I don't know what he is out there throwing. Yeah. They're both out there. Yeah, they're both out there throwing. But why is why is Michael Penix not been cleared yet? I know this is his ninety second ACL surgery. So so I get it. He may take a little while longer, but still, like we were expecting two at w just somebody, Brandon. I mean, and you got guys going on the PUP list that we signed, you know, the Juwan Taylor, he's on it. I mean It just like training camp day couldn't have been worse for the Falcons. It it don't even make sense 'cause you you you already knew what you're kinda getting with Tua anyways. You knew he was already banged up like from previous years, much less probably probably have CT. Yeah. And now now this dude's out with a tight back. I don't even know what really that means. I don't know what a tight back is. I I don't know how long that means he's out for. I don't know if that means he's back on Monday and then you got Bijan. He's out a hold out. Hold in. Yeah. I mean they assume they get his contract done, but it just seems like you know, y you get a new coach and we need everything to be flowing going into the season and Just nothing no good news has come out. Yeah, I mean it it it and this is I mean, we knew something had happened, but even your your defensive coordinator, right? He wasn't their first day of practice, and I'm not Nobody knew. Nobody knew what was going on, but we had then found out his wife passed of cancer. So obviously that is a legit reason. But Monday, whatever it was, you ain't got Penix, you ain't got Tua, you got all these dudes that go on the the the PUP list you got your defensive coordinate everything that was coming out was bad and then the dude they drafted second round or whatever Troy Anderson linebacker that we all I know me and Brandon did comes from I may be wrong here but comes from like Montana State or something. Right gets drafted before N'Kobe Dean, before these other SEC type linebackers And the dude hadn't played anything, and he's already starting this year again on the physically unable to p perform list. There was no good news on training camp. And it's just like, here we go again. Starting back over again. All over. Well, with that being said, Brian, Vegas came out came out with six and a half games this year. Falcons win six and a half games. What you got? I don't know, man. It's such a hard one. Being a homer of the Falcons it's it's it's it's hard for me to say that they can't win seven. That's what I think. Because it what Two is gonna be ready. I mean, how how many games do we say play? Play like what? Sixteen, eighteen games. They play eighteen games. You're telling me they can't win. And we will go in more depth. We'll we'll we are gonna get into the schedule once we get a little bit closer, we're gonna dive into it a little bit more and my initial say would be over. I would go over the seven and a half because I think that two is gonna start. I'm sorry. Yes. Over the six and a half, so they gotta win seven games. I'm gonna say over, but just because I think that two is back's gonna be all right. He'll get some wins. and then at some point they're gonna probably wanna start Penix. I know he they gotta know what they got. But if if two is on a heater, then we're gonna ride two out. I I think seven wins is possible. I like to say seven wins would be possible because How many we get last year? Like eight, I think. What we got eight, nine, I think. Yep. Same mediocre play, but I I mean, I just don't know where we got better at this year. So it's hard for me to say we'll win seven. That half really sticks it to me. Yeah. I'm I'm gonna take under. I I mean it's always hard the half. The hook will get you, man. I I mean I I I'm got s you know, we'll we'll sit down and we'll take a look at the schedule and try to look at and see w you know, where our wins and losses are. But I still think under for now. Yeah, we'll see. I don't know. This is another little quick topic. We'll end on this topic, but Scoobel, right? Braves fans got had to want Scoobyl. If you didn't, you're an idiot. we needed another pitcher. Now they did sign an outfielder. Yeah, and and and a left handed I mean I didn't even look into it. The dude but ERA is like a fourteen. The d the the batter they sign is hitting like two thirty. But Double A always seems to have some things figured out. So I'm not gonna put he signed those dudes for a reason. Now we all wanted Scoobyl. And I don't even think that my my big problem with the Scuba deal is that the Dodgers didn't even give up too much. And I heard all week that the Dodgers didn't their main reason they wanted Scoobyl. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure they wanted him 'cause he's a good pitcher, but one of the big refactors that they wanted him was because they didn't want the Braves to get him. Yep. But for what they gave up, which what I'm reading, what I'm seeing, is they're paying the rest of his thirty-two million dollar contract this year, and they gave up three minor league prospects. So I I don't there's no reason the Braves could have gave up four. Yeah. Five. I don't know what, but my God, there had to be a deal that you could have got him away from the Dodgers. And and my thing is, is like my whole thing with Scuba was is yes, it was only just for one year. Right. But the question is, is like as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't look like we're gonna have baseball next year. Yeah. so why not go all in? It and I'm not saying you had to give our top prospects away, but what it sounds like is they didn't even had to give away that much, that good of prospects. I don't even I haven't even fully looked at it yet. But my understanding the prospects that the Dodgers gave wasn't even that great. And two Like the rich gets richer, right? Like the Dodgers just keep loading and loading and loading. And it's almost to the point it's like, why don't we just hand him the World Series trophy at this point? I mean, it don't it gives me no hope for the Braves. Yeah, Brian says AA has whatever up his sleeve or, you know, he's always come through. But let's be honest here, dude. We're we're we needed pitching. We needed another bat, and I'm not saying we're not done. I think it ends on Monday, the deadline. trade deadline. But I don't I don't know why we can't add something and then like I said, if we know I mean we don't know, but i if the chances are we're not gonna have much baseball for freaking next year, then why not go all in and try to get what you can out of your players this year? Yeah. Chris sell. How long how much longer are we gonna have Chris sell, right? Let's go ahead and add somebody. But for people who don't know, right, Brennan's talking about going on strike. They're already talking about going on strike next year, you know. Players union, all that stuff. So they're expecting some kind of strike. And I and I don't think that this deal helps it because you're just letting the Dodgers add and add and add. And granted, everybody can do that, right? You can, if you want to spend the money, you can. But the problem is is some of the lower level franchises, you know, they're not going to spend that money. So I think they're going to need to go to some kind of, you got to have a low cap. Yeah. You gotta have a low cap and you gotta high gotta have a high cap because right now you can sign, sign, sign and pay the the luxury tax or whatever they call it, and you can have a million great players. But I think we gotta have a cap at the top and a cap at the top. We always talk about NBA super super teams, but I mean the Dodgers is a legit like super team for an MLB. And it's like good if your team, you know, has got the money to spend that. But I mean what What's the point of us knowing every year, well the Dodgers are gonna win? The Dodgers are gonna win it. And it's like, dude. And then a free agent comes available. Not a free agent, but a trade, and then they just snatch them up. For me, it's like if I'm the organization, I'm like, I'm not sending nobody else to the Dodgers. Why would I? Why would I want to make the Dodgers better than they already are? Yeah, I just me from a Braves fan and and how it is, I just can't believe That they didn't do everything in their power to get this guy. Right. I know we struggled pre-all-star break, but we're we're doing pretty well right now. We still have a team that can go and win the World Series. And you add another arm or two to the rotation, you're now right there as a World Series favorite. I don't know why we don't do that. It doesn't make sense to me. I know. And and you wouldn't be having these questions and worrying about the Dodgers because when you add somebody like Scoobyl to your lineup, you're like, Okay, now we can play with the Dodgers. Yeah. And now you get these two bums that come in and it's like you you just get it's like, what are we doing? It's like you might as well just throw the year away. Yeah. Yeah, and I mean I still think they're they're gonna be good. The Braves are still gonna be good and you need your Riley to get going. I know we've been waiting on that all year, but that's another thing. At at what point are we gonna sit Riley? At some point you gotta sit that dude down and ha And play somebody else at third. You gotta get another bat there. Yeah. But we'll we'll get we'll get more into sports are starting to really ramp up. I know we haven't done a lot of sports talks lately in the last shoot pretty much thirteen, fourteen episodes. We've done a little bit, not a lot, but now it's all starting to ramp up, right? We're getting to Braves postseason, we're getting to Georgia football and Falcons are training camp. So sports talks really gotta ramp. Sports talk, I was just telling Brian, For all you sports people out there. We are gonna do like a weekly we're gonna go through and probably do the SEC games, maybe add in top games. And we may I mean we're gonna pick the winners and then maybe do spread. We we haven't got that far yet on that, but maybe we'll do spread picks or maybe not. But yeah, we're gonna go through the SC schedule every week and pick the winners and stuff like that and tally it up and see who's the winner between me and Brian each week. To add in some sports. So once football gets going, we get to the postseason. we're really gonna start ramping up with sports at least a little bit more than what we've been doing. Yeah. and then hopefully we're gonna try to get some other guests on the show too as well. So that's it. But hope y'all hope y'all enjoyed this little underrated, overrated episode. We'll get back to next week, you know, doing a little more weight loss stuff and a little sports talk. But until next time. See you.
