speaker-0: Welcome to such a good call pod. speaker-1: With your girls Bracha and Jackie. Thanks for being here today. Welcome everyone. Welcome back. Sorry about last week. speaker-0: Thank you for being Back air. I'm not sorry, one bit. We're back and better than ever. So I'm very excited. Jackie's sister in law moved to my neighborhood. She lives very close to me and I'm feeling very excited. I feel like you're gonna come a lot now. speaker-1: We just spent Yantiv together. By the way, like we have a bar mitzvah here coming up soon and Daniel's like, ⁓ like we're at his sister's house and he's like, Where are we gonna stay for the bar mitzvah? Probably Braha, right? And we're literally at his sister's house. She's like, Are you kidding me? He's like, ⁓ my god, why didn't I think of this? It was so funny. speaker-0: No, I'm so excited and it was so nice to have you. speaker-1: Yes, it was lovely. The girlies had a sleepover. So So cute. They're like, we're best friends and our moms are best friends. speaker-0: Such a braha. But I was thinking about it. I asked the girls, I'm like, How come you guys get a sleepover? And like the moms don't. Good point. I want a girly sleepover too. The men are in the sukkah anyways, so we should speaker-1: That's a really Dev sleeps in the sucker. Yeah. Even when it's raining? speaker-0: No, not when it's raining. No. They so they slept in the suka the first night. Whose day? My kids like to sleep there too. ⁓ And then they came in in the middle of the night 'cause speaker-1: Wow. What kind custom is that? Hasidish? Litvish? speaker-0: I don't know. Well, you don't do it. No. And I do, so I'm gonna say speaker-1: So much has happened in the past two weeks, I feel, even though you have nothing documented. speaker-0: No, I I literally have two things on my notes and Jackie is a very long one. ⁓ we'll see we'll see where this goes. speaker-1: Well, I was thinking about Yom Kipper, which like who wants to think about anymore? My big thing on Yom Kipper is like the shoe fashion. Like that's what gets me through Yom Kipper, you know? Like what is everyone wearing on their feet? Crocs have really taken over Yom Kippur. They're the Yom Kipper shoe. Crocs kept speaker-0: I I personally wore brunch slippers. And I loved it. I'm like I hear that. Because like all the girlies are wearing those out like to the pizza store and like I'm not gonna do that. Yeah, yeah, because that's like socially acceptable for them, like as they should. Yeah. But that's not socially acceptable for me to do. Like for me, I can wear it outside of my house when I'm watching my kids and like you can't go further than that. You know? speaker-1: You did. Same. I want to like pick up my daughter my baby from like this. speaker-0: Nanny. Right. Like that's where we're going. Like maybe like a carpool when we're not getting out of the car. Like we could do that. speaker-1: I got more than here. speaker-0: But Yon Kipper. Perfect. Also my shoals are on the corner, so it's not like I had to walk far. speaker-1: Perfect. I I wore my enclouds because like if I have an excuse to wear sneakers to shul, like I'm gonna take it, I think. Like people were wearing flats. I had flats that were non-leather, obviously, but I'm like, but I could wear sneakers because it's a kipper. So like I'm gonna do that. but I really do want to invest invest lol in a pair of like white keds with like a tie, like on the you how like a tie? Yeah, like they have like Half of it is a tie, like it goes like this and then over Okay. There's there's like a specific version of Keds that like are Young Kipper to me. Okay. speaker-0: ⁓ yes, I know what you're talking about. Like the old school one. Yeah, okay. I would like totally speaker-1: I want just have those and I only wear them on Young Kipper. I never wear them unless it's Yom Kipper. If I speaker-0: to think of you as a sneaker, it would be that. I can't explain it. No, no, no. I can't explain why, but that is you. Like I think you really need that. And not only for Dom Kipper. Like that shoe kind of looks like you. speaker-1: Old school. No, I do feel like I need that. It does? Yeah. It makes me think you think I'm like boring and neutral. speaker-0: Really? I feel like it's like really distinct and different and like true to yourself and your roots. And nostalgic. speaker-1: The OG. Yeah. Okay, that's a nice way of looking at it. speaker-0: Like I wouldn't say those are boring. I would say those are the classic and like I like that. And it's not the classic heads that everyone's picking now. Now everyone's doing like a platform or like the plain speaker-1: I like no platform, like really loaded. Yeah. Yeah, I really want that. But like I'm only I will not wear them unless it's ⁓ kipper. So every year of my life I wear them only on ⁓ kipper and then you see like all the ⁓ kippers. Did it rain that young kipper? Right. speaker-0: And I think that's very you. That's like my uncle always had like red high top converse. Yeah. Or maybe they were black, I don't remember. But like high top converse, like I don't care, that was his show. speaker-1: My dad just got white Converse. He's and I'm just like, What inspired this choice? It's quite cool. He's like, It is? I'm like, Yeah. Same. Laceless. You definitely had laceless Converse. That was like the most important like the No, there were no it was like a tat there were like slip ons. Me and my friends all had they didn't fit. We were just all like our foot was popping out of them. speaker-0: I had white converse. With like curly with like the curly Yes, yeah, dude, those were bad. ⁓ my gosh, I personally loved bands. speaker-1: Same. I t we spoke about this. Did we speak about our vans? Probably. I had one pig spy. speaker-0: Problem. ⁓ yeah, yeah, we discussed this and I had the ones that I colored. speaker-1: Yeah. But now vans are back. The white platform bands, like ever all the girlies wear them. That's what I was Vans. No, I'm talking about cats. speaker-0: I know, I know. But when I said platform, that's what I was talking about. But also another Yom Kipper thought, and I'm sure I've shared this in the past. I'm literally like the best version of myself. Like I am the healthiest version of myself on Yom Kippur. Jackie. Jackie, I don't drink ever. Like I'm never properly hydrated. Before Yom Kippur, I'm I'm hydrated. Like coconut water, like up the wazoo. speaker-1: It's bizarre. It's like the hardest thing. You should treat every day like it's a day of Orion Kipp. And then speaker-0: I have my you know what? With Tylenol and caffeine, like it's a g speaker-1: By the way, yeah. I'm good ⁓ I just want to say, like, there's when you're like slow release, the solo release pills, like Bill. Yeah. Sometimes they hit at the wrong hour and like you're up at five thirty AM and then like like there's nothing you could do. Like I was sitting obviously next to my friend Toba again, 'cause we had the same seats, and like hers didn't hit her caffeine didn't hit till like ⁓ twelve o'clock. So she was like falling on her face till twelve o'clock and then she's like, ⁓ I'm here. She's like, it just did. That's crazy. She's like I can do the rest of the day now. I was like, ⁓ amazing. ⁓ but that's the problem with the slow release is you know speaker-0: Yeah. Well my stomach like was grumbling. Like I didn't feel hungry actually. What when was Jung Kipper this year? The night what day? It was Monday. So that night I ⁓ was in school and my dahlia, like I just got really hungry. Like I felt like a little kid. speaker-1: Yeah. And it's like, okay. speaker-0: Like it just started and I'm like, I'm really hungry. What if I break it? And then like I go to shool and I say I'm sorry? Like, does it count that I broke it the night before? I didn't break it, don't write. But I was thinking about it. speaker-1: My daughter's like aging towards about midstay age and she's I'm really gonna try this year. I'm like, You don't have to try. It doesn't matter. You're gonna have to do it anyway. There's no practicing. Right. You have to do it, you have to do it. It doesn't matter. And she's like, I did really good. The whole night when I was sleeping, I did it to eat. And then I woke up and I ate breakfast. I'm like, so you did nothing different than any other night. Right. ⁓ speaker-0: It's like our like kindergarten or like when they have homework, which by the way is crazy, like kindergarten like it's Nebach for children. speaker-1: Yeah. My son's like, I have four days behind on my sook is homework. I'm like, that's fine. Like, don't worry. speaker-0: The homework is so intense in kindergarten. But like they come home like really excited. Like I have homework and I'm like, you know, how long is that gonna last for? Mm-hmm. It's the same thing before you have to fast. Like actually V AJ fasting is so like Yeah. speaker-1: She by the way, I who was I talking to I was talking to someone about this because like you're at when you're at this stage of life, yeah, where like you your kids aren't fasting, like that's really hard. You have to feed them, you have to be on with them, whatever. But when you have like a new fasting kid and they're like, I'm so hungry all day. I'm so sorry, I'm so like that's so annoying. Like, yeah, that's the next stage for us is like the newly fasting kid. speaker-0: So hard. Sounds terrible. speaker-1: Right? 'Cause you remember you were like that also, like when you first had to start fasting. Five the whole day. speaker-0: Yeah. It's not hard for us anymore 'cause everyone takes stuff. Like what do you speaker-1: Do other people can the kids take We drug up the kids? speaker-0: But like do we want our kids taking caffeine? Like what are they taking? Exactly. Like what are what are they taking? They're not in speaker-1: Electrojoids. He's non FDA approved electrolyte. I take electroids. Yeah, that's help. It will help. speaker-0: Before you're saying like ⁓ I don't know, but I didn't even think about that and that's speaker-1: So true. A freshly fasting kid sounds like the worst. For us. Yeah, we're annoyed and cranky and hungry. Like talking about it all day is not gonna do anything. It's all I know. speaker-0: Terrible. We'll have to ask our parents like what they also gonna make our fast so much harder. ⁓ you're making me hungry. I don't need you to sit there and be like hot big old like they're gonna think of all the things that like I used to do that, you know like it on speaker-1: ⁓ What am I gonna I remember on Tisha Pop like watching Charlie in the chocolate factory and being like, ⁓ my gosh, I need it like like the whole day I was whining about chocolate. I was like watching Charlie and the Factory after age thirteen I saw they have like a new reality T V show where they do like Willy Wanka in like real life. speaker-0: What does the winner get? speaker-1: The golden ticket? I don't know. What do you get? It's a cash prize, no? Yeah. Probably a cash prize. Also, did I tell you about the dog walker in my neighborhood? I think so. ⁓ yeah, that she like only talks to me when I'm with Bentley. Okay. Okay. So and like otherwise I don't exist. Like it's so crazy. I see her all the time and like she won't even acknowledge my presence. It's wild. But she walks all the dogs in the neighborhood. speaker-0: Sounds like it. speaker-1: I saw her on Rosh Hashanah. She was wearing a t shirt that said Shofar so good on Rosh Hana. speaker-0: ⁓ my gosh. She's not Jewish. speaker-1: Sweet, like yeah, I'm like, is she Jewish? Or is she just like so in the culture? speaker-0: Yeah, she's showing everyone like speaker-1: And I wasn't sure if I should like, Love your shirt Should like, Who's that stranger? speaker-0: Someone just say something, puppies? Did you guys hear something? ⁓ speaker-1: also if you know her it makes it even funnier. speaker-0: You have a lot of like very interesting. speaker-1: Very interesting. She rides a bike. speaker-0: Like you can read a book on speaker-1: the characters yeah I interact with. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. I really truly could. Like really. ⁓ I never even acknowledged on this podcast, but I wanted to formally acknowledge the death of Brunson Simon. Thank you for your well wishes. speaker-0: Yeah. I'm really sorry. What do you do with the bowl now? speaker-1: I just put it with my like serving things. speaker-0: Kinda gross. Why don't you just get another fish? speaker-1: I don't can I tell you how much stress that fish caused me? I wanna tell you, remember how speaker-0: How jacky is that? ⁓ I'm sorry. Just let me just the fish causing you so much stress and you haven't a whole thing to like this is so jacky. speaker-1: Okay. I'm gonna tell you everything. First of all, well let's go through how it died. I went to my friend Sons Bar Mitzvah out of town for two days, came back. That's they said they fed him. I think they overfed him because he was bloated. ⁓ I did. It was quite disturbing. The whole process was like he was all bloated. I don't know. He didn't even speaker-0: Daniel couldn't just Well the kill clearly did it. Did you flush him down the toilet? Who did that? speaker-1: Float to the top. He was at the bottom. That's why was confused. I'm like, bro, like move. Basically, like keeping one more being alive in my house proved to be way too much for me. Like, I have my hands full with the beings in my house currently who I have to keep alive. Yeah. I don't need another one. And it and every day it was like, ⁓ who fed the fish? No one fed the fish. I have to feed the fish. Did you feed the fish? speaker-0: I hear that. speaker-1: I don't wanna overfeed the fish and ⁓ it's just like another thing to remember every day that it'll just not downsworth. speaker-0: And it's not like the reward is like worth it. You know, it's like you have to take care of your dog and you love your dog. Right. Like it brings you joy. Like the fish is just there's nothing. Like you get nothing from it. Get nothing from it. Okay. I have a question for you. What is with this trend of the flats that look like like hooves? speaker-1: You're a tecta dog. But can't touch the fit. Some never even acknowledged the fact terrible. ⁓ what are they called? I don't called something. speaker-0: know. What is that? And I know that this is like the same as me saying a long time before those jellyflats were a thing, like what are those jellyflats who'll never see me and then I never took my red ones off? So I better not be wearing them. speaker-1: Called tabby shoes, tabby flats. Flat T A B I speaker-0: Hey Swat. Why are they called that? speaker-1: Happy flat. I see those like the most uncomfortable idea. What people do for fashion, honestly, if it's comfort that I speaker-0: So some brands are like more of a split. speaker-1: I hate this. Wait, if one's in the middle, do you put like two toes on one side and one three toes on the other? No. speaker-0: No, c do you think you feel them on the inside of the shoe or it just looks like that? speaker-1: Look how gross that is. On a pair of loafers they have that. speaker-0: Like, do you think these are like we're gonna be wearing these soon? What do you think? I think No, 'cause we really said this about the jellyfly. I did. speaker-1: I will not. I never wore jellyfly. I don't think the I don't think speaker-0: Will this look normal? 'Cause that happens a lot that you see a new trend and you're like that looks crazy and then it becomes just like normal. But can this ever become normal? Like it's very creepy and ugly. speaker-1: Cross. I feel like you would love these. speaker-0: I don't it looks like an animal. speaker-1: Renala to split hooves. What's it called? Does it chew it's card? I would never wear those. That is sacrificing way too much of my comfort. I don't even like the shoes where my to put my like a flip flop. speaker-0: I'm just curio yeah, no, I'm just curio I didn't realize that that's when you wear it, it's like that. I I just assume that speaker-1: What do you mean? How else would you wear it? speaker-0: I don't know, I didn't think much about it. I just thought that felt like a regular shoe and it just looked like that. But you're speaker-1: Right. Your toe, it's like a flip flop. It's like a constant separation between your big toe and wrist. speaker-0: I need to go to Lomingdale's underhead on. I just need to see. speaker-1: Ouch. I'm not into it. I don't think the Yidden are gonna be into it. speaker-0: ⁓ but this one's interesting 'cause this one is just the big toe and then those on the side. speaker-1: They're all just the big toe. speaker-0: ⁓ this one doesn't look as bad than the other ones that are like in the middle. speaker-1: Add. I hate all of them. But what they represent, discomfort for women. speaker-0: Like these Steve Madden ones. Steve Madden, like copying every single shoe is really so iconic. I'm so Like look, this one's different. Split down the middle. The original one is more to the left. Whatever. Moving on. speaker-1: Hmm here for it. My son's had a new one this week. Yeah. He goes he goes, Mom, can I wear sleeveless? Can I wear my sleeveless shirt? I'm like, sleeveless? It's like, yeah. I'm like, no you can't wear it. I'm not correcting it. It's too cold, no sleeveless for you. Did you see Jake Shane's haircut? speaker-0: Yeah, let's No, it's too cold. Of course I did. I'm holding in Jake Shane. I love Jake Shane. He looks like a Jewish boy, no? speaker-1: Bring back the buzzcut. speaker-0: He got so much love for that buttons. speaker-1: I need him to influence the young boys. I need him to be the influence. I don't want this mu speaker-0: I don't think he's influencing any young boy. Like he's just influencing the girlies to like know what No, to just like be into that. speaker-1: But like that's what boys looked like when we were in high school. Right. Boys looked like shaved heads. Like that's what they w had on they didn't have long hair. Maybe spiky. speaker-0: The hair spiking spiky Jackie. This is so embarrassing. My son had like spiky in the front. Yeah. And the spike poked me in the eye yesterday. I got poked in the eye from his hair. And it really hurt. And I was just like dying. I'm like, I just got poked in the eye from his hair. Only me. Only me and it really hurt. speaker-1: Yeah. My sons call them a chap. speaker-0: I think we said that. I think that's like the name for it. I didn't know that. speaker-1: ⁓ my s one of my sons is really, really into his chap, ⁓ which probably is not a good sign. Like speaker-0: But yeah, the boys' haircuts disease are really crazy. And also I'm like not into like I just see like so many Jewish boys with these speaker-1: That's just the style. I know. And I don't like it. I I'm not familiar with that. Do you know what I'm saying? That's not that's not what I'm used to looking at. The boys I knew had shaved heads. Yeah. They had a number two buzz cut. Like literally. So I don't I I'd love for Jake Shane to be a haircut influencer here and stop with the nonsense. speaker-0: Like it. I agree. I really agree. speaker-1: Great. Hair's for the girls. Like let's just be honest here. Like I don't want a man styling their hair. Like I don't want that. Right. I don't want you spending time on that. It should be a non issue. Agreed? Agreed. speaker-0: So I had a really great house. ⁓ I feel like going to the gym is like a great excuse to like leave the house. Like nothing can get me to the gym. Mm-hmm. But when I asked Sab, like, ⁓ you're taking the kids, do you think like I I'll go to the gym? He was like, Yeah, like you could do that and I was like, ⁓ like this is amazing. Like speaker-1: Do say I'm going to the gym. Yeah. speaker-0: Okay. I think so. It's just like, ⁓ okay. Like that's if you're going to the gym, like I'll watch the kids here, like you'll go. And it's just like perfect time to just have time for yourself. So speaker-1: ⁓ I ⁓ well I could give you my perspective on this. I get a FaceTime Arab Shabbos one, I don't remember when it was from Bracha and I see she's like moving in a weird way and I was like Bruca, where are you? No, that's not I s and she just kept going and I was like I said, Are you on the treadmill? speaker-0: Yeah. Jackie, that's not even how it happens. I called you before I went to the gym. You didn't answer. Okay. So then I FaceTimed you, or you FaceTimed me when I was on the treadmill. I answered. Now I don't I didn't have AirPods, which I need to get. And Jackie screams, are you on? speaker-1: Yeah, she doesn't have air. speaker-0: She's a busy She's on the track What isn't ⁓ she? ⁓ speaker-1: Literally in my whole life I've never seen you on the treadmill. ⁓ speaker-0: Screaming so loud. Okay, I'm glad every person in the gym just heard Haki and that they all know I don't belong here. And that this is a funny sight. Yeah. You're reaction. You just said the story and you were like, I said Braha, where are Like, no no no no no. You didn't say Braha, where are you? I don't shout. You were you shouted, you were in shock. You were like, I didn't s if I don't hear from you for five minutes, I know that something's up. I'm like, I literally called you and you didn't answer. speaker-1: It was just really No. ⁓ speaker-0: But like I was not there for long. But it was a good hack. speaker-1: think a lot of people have that same situation where you say like can I go to the gym? They're just like speaker-0: It like it just worked out. Like you'll take the kids there and I'll go to the gym and it's like sure. Sounds good. Like if I say, ⁓ you'll take the kids and I'll go shopping, it's it's not the same. Or you take the kids and I'm gonna go speaker-1: Like I really I'm taking care of myself. I'm a healthy person. Are you okay? speaker-0: Make I would just say meet up I'm gonna go out with my friend. Yeah, I'm not saying I'm gonna go out with my friends, like you're not being like sure, but it's just like I'm gonna go the gym. Also, we were going to the same place, like whatever. It just speaker-1: Jackie gets out of the Not as appeal. I have to go to the gym. It worked. I'm glad for ya. Do you know the best song? Sorry. It's called The Best Song. I thought you were about to say like the best. speaker-0: No. I was about to say that which one? What is it? speaker-1: question. Let me look at my Taylor Swift playlist. Do you know the song, The Best Song? Okay. The boys, the Boys, hold on, let me search it. Came off, came home from school and said, Can you put on the best song? Okay. Are you looking up for it? Yeah. Can I play it for you? Yeah. speaker-0: Ever made in the world. This is the best song ever missed in the world. Songs are good, even some are really good. But the best songs ever missed them in the world. It has a lot of good data and a lot of good singing, and the music is so good and even scientists don't know what it is. You can listen to it anywhere on a bike or on a different bike. You can dance to it anytime in the morning over with your arms. You can also dance to it pulling the animal. speaker-1: It's Napoleon Dynamite. Is that no? It's not Napoleon's dynamite, but it's the same idea. Yeah. He does look like him, so I was like, what on earth is this? So I asked chat. Okay, so they said that this guy's like they're like ten years late on this song. Like this song came out ten years ago. Like it's not more. He this guy's like a YouTuber. I'm like, this is his thing. He does these like nonsense songs like that. But she's like, do not speaker-0: And he looks like him. speaker-1: Chat's like, do not let an auto it autoplay like his YouTube videos or his songs because most of his other songs are extremely inappropriate. But this specific song is fine and I get why your your boys are upset. They're just ten years late unlike classic like speaker-0: The Jews like speaker-1: Like why are you guys asking me this now? Like ⁓ speaker-0: You guys are ten years late. You always say that. That's so funny. speaker-1: Literally. I was cracking up. ⁓ but like it sounds like the type of thing that like I would also be obsessed with when I was in middle school. ⁓ my gosh. That's good sound. Choose. Choose. Yeah, I liked all of those. Like those were hysterical to me. ⁓ so that's like this generation's version slash ten years ago. So I have a feeling some people are gonna know that song, but now that's the song in our house. speaker-0: It was like choose. Shows. Yeah. speaker-1: Wow. Let me know when it reaches you. Speaking of throwbacks, my daughter came off the bus the other day. She goes, My friend told me about this brand new movie, Mom. It's she said it's so good. It's called Camp Rock. I said, What? She's like, Camp Rock, it's brand new. speaker-0: Yeah, I'll let you know. ⁓ my gosh. speaker-1: ⁓ Sweet, sweet girl, that is not a brand new movie. She's like, she said it's really good. Can I watch it? I'm like, ⁓ I can't believe we're here. And I can't believe you think that's brand new. speaker-0: I love that. It's new to her. speaker-1: To be honest, if I could speak my truth, I've never seen Campera. Really? Is that weird? Yeah. Which is why I'm not really holding in Jonas Brothers, I would say. Or Demi Lovato. But I have no idea if it's appropriate for my daughter, but like now I have to go check if it is. speaker-0: We'll have to watch it. We can watch it after this and see. Just for research purposes. speaker-1: I don't know what it's about like I know it's about, but like I don't know I know the music from it. Were you like a camp rock girl? speaker-0: ⁓ I don't think I was a camp rock girl, but like I watched it and like we speaker-1: Yeah, like I could quote you things like that. speaker-0: Yeah, no, it definitely wasn't speaker-1: One of Was did was it like past our time? Like were we too old for it? speaker-0: I think that we were too old for like the Camp Rock two. I I know the first speaker-1: ⁓ This one. Like the girls a few years younger than me, like love Jonas Brothers and Cam Brock. Like, but I never it never hit me. I don't know. I think I've I hear that. ⁓ speaker-0: I definitely wasn't obsessed with it, but I've seen it. Could I talk about my latest hyperfixation? speaker-1: Right. Which one? They change so quick. I don't know, Braca, I don't think. speaker-0: Not in specific that part. speaker-1: Okay, I don't know. You're gonna have to make the call here. speaker-0: No, no, no, it's okay. I feel comfortable with the Gwiggies. Sit it on like a bag. Exactly. So I don't know if you just heard that, but I just the aged girls will relate to this. You don't get to pick your hyperfixation, and when it comes, it comes. It hit it hits you. And and like there's nothing you can do about it. You're just stuck in it. And again, you don't get to pick what it is. So it could be speaker-1: If it's home. speaker-0: a bag. It could be a candle or it could be now my obsession with wanting to adopt a baby. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: I always said that I wanted to adopt a baby. Like my whole life. Like you can ask Dahlia, like everyone knows that. And then I recently met this girl who adopted a baby with Down syndrome. And I'm like, ⁓ my gosh, like I was asking her a million questions and she's like, There's one more baby. Like there's another baby looking to be adopted. I'm like, this is a sign, like do it. And then I called Jackie and she was just like, No, Raja. And just it happens to be that like I speaker-1: Don't make me sound like the worst person on the planet. No, you're just hair. speaker-0: About the No, you're just the most responsible. You're just most I think that it happens to be that like there's two reasons that I wouldn't like whatever. And just like you have to be really on top of all the appointments and stuff like that. You have to be really, you know. But I can't stop thinking about adopting a baby now. Like that's my whole child. speaker-1: So how do we how do we pass through the hyperfixation? speaker-0: Know and then like today I was with Ariana and someone like brought something up and she's like, Was that a sign for you? I'm like, That's what I'm saying. but it's just I'm so in it. Like I'm at lunch. speaker-1: I have a solution. I have a solution. What? I just thought of it right now. What? In high school we had a program called Adopt a Bubby. We'd go to the old age home. No and you would ⁓ make a friend with Bubby. So instead of topping the baby, you adopt a bubble. You just switch one vowel. It's the same thing. I think it's such a good solution. Perfect. speaker-0: No. No. And then I was like, I have like embryos. Like, should I find like a surrogate? Like, you think Michelle will carry my baby? What's wrong with you? No, this is like during lunch. I'm having these like I'm literally like asking people at the table on Java. It's like I can't like overhand it today. Like, I'm really sorry, guys. Like these, I just can't get these thoughts out of my head. speaker-1: Circuit's not like that. I need to figure out how to get you onto something else. Like I need speaker-0: No, it needs to pass. It needs to pass. And then I was like, everyone's like, what did Zev say? And I'm like, honestly, like Zev is the only one that when I said this, like he wasn't like Braha, you're crazy. And then Zev's like, yeah, because I know you. Like it's gonna pass. speaker-1: Yeah. So speaker-0: I don't know. Someone was like brac last month it was a cat and now it's like a baby. I'm like, I feel so bad. Like I sound like Yeah. Yeah, I just it's not good. So that's where I'm at. I don't know, guys. speaker-1: Escalating. Fixation seems to be escalating. Things you'll only hear on such a good call. speaker-0: Yeah. And speaking of, like my nine year olds has been walking around saying, I'm not okay. And Jackie just heard her and she's like, Braha, she's saying your lines. And I'm like, it's not good. Braha. Yeah, I heard her say it, I'm like, don't ⁓ my gosh, it's me. I'm not okay. speaker-1: Like she sounds like you brought My okay. My son is a big Yankee fan, and for his birthday, he decided he wanted to go to a Yankee game with a friend. But like his Yankee his birthday is in November, and like the Yankee season's not gonna be going on that long, so we had to do it like earlier. Okay. So Daniel decided he was gonna take all the kids and like he could take a friend also. And my son was telling my dad about it, and he's like He's like, Yeah, like we're all going. I'm bringing your friends. He's like, ⁓ that sounds so awesome. And then he goes to my dad, I'm sorry I can't bring you. It was too expensive. speaker-0: I know it's dying. ⁓ speaker-1: Like, don't worry about it. It's totally bad. And he also did that to Daniel's dad. He's like s he said the same thing, but he said to Daniel's dad, he said, Sorry, I can't bring you there were no seats left and he goes my father in law goes in the whole stadium Like he's trying to be so nice. speaker-0: Like so cute. speaker-1: So cute. ⁓ my gosh. Sorry I couldn't bring you. It was too expensive. It wasn't too expensive to bring my friend, but it w speaker-0: Would be for you. It's like, yeah, we can't afford that, but it was the thought that counts. speaker-1: It's too expensive. But also I speak of my dad. Me and my dad had ⁓ Yes. I have to tell you. ⁓ my gosh, where do I even begin? Okay, my dad is a fan of Zoe De Chanel, right? Zoe D Chanel we know as like Jess from New Girl, right? Yes. But no, apparently she's also a singer and she has a band called She and Him. speaker-0: Apparently she's just in real life. speaker-1: Totally, she's just in real life. But so my dad likes her music and he's like, ⁓ does anyone like Zoe D. Chanel? And I respond to the family chat and I was like, ⁓ I do. Like I think she's great and he's like, ⁓ do you wanna come with me to a concert next week? Whatever and I'm like, Sure. I don't know one song of hers. speaker-0: I need to check out her music 'cause I take like our boy music rocks very speaker-1: Yeah. I would say it's like Ingrid Michelson type music. Yeah. very like oldie. I love that. She covers a lot of ⁓ like Beach Boys and what ⁓ speaker-0: I love that. But that just brought me back to think about the drone speech thing, I don't know why. speaker-1: Who by the way, we were discussing what to do with Holmoid. I was like and my dad was like, Should we go to Jones Beach? I was like, It's open Like there's wars. There's wars. You know no you don't know. You don't never know. It'd be crazy. Okay, yeah. So that's her. speaker-0: I wanna come to the next one by the way. And crash in the next like that, daughter of speaker-1: ⁓ we had a father-daughter night ⁓ in the city. We went to Town Hall to see She and Him, Zoe De Chanel's concert. Okay. Yeah. And I was like, listen, like I don't like I don't I I listened to a few of the songs in the car on the like that week. I was like, it'll be a nice night with my dad. Like he likes it, it'll be nice. We went to dinner in Queens where someone this like teen was like Do you want a Lulu love and Esther? I like, Yeah, like I could use it for my boys. And she's like, Okay, they're fifty dollars. I was like, No, no, you just asked me if I wanted it. Like you didn't tell me you were selling it, whatever. And classic. and then we what like we stopped for dinner, we went So you think it was like, Do you want one? And I was like, Yeah, like I want one. It seems like he was giving them way for free. speaker-0: He was just giving them out for free. I'm just trying to think if someone's asking me. speaker-1: We're just sitting at a restaurant and he comes up to our table and with a lula vanestrobe and was Do you want this? And I'm like, Yeah. Are you giving it to me? speaker-0: Right. hear but it would be weird if he was just like, Do you want this? Like why do you have it? speaker-1: The the whole thing was weird. I didn't understand what was going on. Okay. It was bizarre. speaker-0: Also queens it makes sense, you know. Yeah. And speaker-1: It was so clean. And then also, like, my dad tapped to pay. I was Dad, I'm so proud of you. I didn't even have to set it up for you. You did it all on your own. My dad's pretty good with that. Yeah. I had set it up for my mom. but we went to the city, we parked like quite far, and we walked. It was like a beautiful night, but Brahma, the crowd there was Zoe De Chanel. has quite the crowd we didn't know what it was gonna be like my dad's like I wonder who's gonna be there like I don't know like who lists listens to this type of music and I'm like yeah I have no idea. My dad said he was like the oldest there by like 20 years. Like everyone there was like young. probably like teens, twenties, thirties. ⁓ you mean old. No, like actual freaks of nature were there. Like I'm not even joking. Like know the people with the big holes in their ears. Yeah. Like lots of that. Really. ⁓ lots of like I think Zoe De Chanel's messaging is like, be yourself. You know, like don't be scared to be yourself. And it was like a lot of people being themselves to a point that like made me uncomfortable. You know, like like you don't have to be yourself that. speaker-0: Like furries are like no they call it furry for fuzzies. It would be there. ⁓ speaker-1: fuzzies like yes people who like have like animal faces of course but like everyone there but first first I was like noticing like a lot of girls in preppy dresses because like she dresses like that a lot with like tights and like heels and like everything was red from head to toe like very Zoe Deschell and then I was like really getting like a sense of it but they were with like guys who was like all black goth you know like just like really wild like all speaker-0: There's like you and your dad. Literally We're the weirdos here. We're the ones that stick out and that everyone's gonna stare at. Like speaker-1: We are we are the It was a sitting concert and the seats were quite tight there. Quite tight. And I all I could think about is how horrible it smelled. It smelled like body odor. The entire place smelled like body odor. It was body odor and weed. Like that was the whole place. I I couldn't breathe. I literally like was holding my breath the whole time. It was nausea. And my dad's like, I don't smell anything. Like he was like totally fine. speaker-0: Fuzzies are I need, you know. ⁓ I wouldn't be able to handle that. Actually, these are my people. speaker-1: He's like, I'm very used to these things. ⁓ the people next to me were like screaming out things to her. ⁓ my god. Like a lovely Zoe. Like they I'm like, ⁓ god, this is the home. Like this is so embarrassing. And the person in front of me was obviously seven feet tall because like that's my luck at concerts. And he had like a cur something wrong with his neck where like he constantly had to like move his neck to the right. So then like every time he moves his neck, like I can't see because like he's seven feet tall. Like If he stays in one spot, I could find my angle. He's constantly moving his head. So I'm like, I can't see a thing. speaker-0: What do you think she thinks of her crowd and her fan base? speaker-1: I'm so curious. She must know that they're absolute freaks of nature. speaker-0: Right. Do you think she's like I have the weirdest, coolest handbase? Where is she like ⁓ speaker-1: I don't know. I feel like I feel like 'cause she's I feel like she's actually just in real life, but she's way more like quiet. Like I thought she'd be like on stage like chit chatting with everyone. Like she was unbelievably awkward. Like she said probably like two words total and she's uncomfortable. Yeah, but she's usually like a little more like go with the fluffy. I need to do something. You really do. Yeah. And then like I had to look up the whole concert. I'm like how converted to Judaism also. Well I speaker-0: You don't think that's like part of the step? I didn't speaker-1: She's married to a property brother. I know everything about her now. She has two kids. Can I tell you her name her kids' names? Yeah. Eloise Otter. Eloise Otter and Charlie Wolf. She names her kid Otter. speaker-0: Wow. Well like she's the face of weird. So like fantastic. speaker-1: She probably she's like not super talented. Like what I was discussing with my dad afterwards, first of all the concert wasn't good. If she wasn't Zoe D. Chanel, she would not be able to have a music career. speaker-0: Right. Why does she look so different? I'm looking at speaker-1: The same always with her bangs. Lots of bangs. Lots. speaker-0: Like she looks different here. ⁓ speaker-1: Lot she probably got some face stuff done, but like lots of things. Anyway, the crowd was interesting. The music the music was average at best and like she would really not be able to do this if it wasn't if she wasn't New Girl. Like if she wasn't who she is, if she wasn't an actress, she would have no career. Like she wasn't that talented, in my humble opinion. speaker-0: Maybe she really is, but she can't even show her talent because she has to be like Jess? Yeah. Why? Because these people don't want to see perfection. They wanna see someone not good up on stage, you know? speaker-1: My god, I forgot to tell you about the opener. speaker-0: No, Car, if you hear me eating soup right now, and Jackie, you were just louder on that part. Yeah, I'm sorry. speaker-1: The opener was this girl, her name Jordana. speaker-0: Okay. Mm-hmm. speaker-1: And she had all these songs. Like one was called Jordana Land and it was like In Jordana Land. And we'll always like, this one's about summer camp. She's like, I love summer camp. No, my dad was like, This is brutal. ⁓ we were dying of laughter. Can I tell you one of the lyrics that Jordana in Jordana land, I'd trade all the trucks for turtles. speaker-0: Cam creeped. Dad say during this he was enjoying. Okay. Were you guys the only ones that weren't high there? speaker-1: Me and d me and me and my dad looked at each other and burst out laughing. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: All the drugs for turtles? Like what are you talking about? Like nothing makes sense. And she happened to have been a good violinist, but other than that, she had like it was so bad. ⁓ it was it was quite the experience, let me tell you. What did my dad text me? She texted me, I hope you're functioning okay today on such little sleep. Tickets are available for tonight's show. We can go to see Jordana. speaker-0: Sounds a She's just her danna. speaker-1: I wanna know what happened to the turtles. speaker-0: Isso aqui speaker-1: I sent him a picture. I'm like, no, thank you. We got back really late. Apparently it was UN week and there was lots of traffic. speaker-0: Maybe I'll go with R to see Jordan. I'm very proud of myself. I don't know if I told you guys this last time we recorded that I finally watched a TV show. Do we discuss this? speaker-1: No. She's so proud of herself she watched the T V show. speaker-0: ⁓ pr first of all we once got hater mail being like Braha always talks about how she doesn't watch T V, like we get it. Something like that. speaker-1: And shut in, Jackie Love never listens to music. We understand. We say it every week. speaker-0: So to that one hater. I want you to know I watch the T V show. speaker-1: And I listen to music. speaker-0: ⁓ and I was able to like focus on it. I don't know, it was a win. It was like a day where I felt like ⁓ I wanted like what I needed for myself was just to relax and like put on a show, which I never do. I'm usually just like, I need to go here and I need to do that, whatever. And I asked Jackie, of course, what I should watch. And she suggested the four seasons. speaker-1: It's just like an easy good. Not I mean, it does get heavy actually. Well, you got up to the heavy if part. But like overall pretty light, sweet. Mm-hmm. Funny. speaker-0: It does. If you're like me and need something like you just like want to get your mind off something and you wan don't want to watch a show that's like inappropriate or like intense or heavy, it was perfect. speaker-1: Also she thinks I'm Tina Fay. speaker-0: Literally Jackie's character Tina Faye's character in the show is legitimately Jackie. It's like every single thing that she says and like the things that she gets upset about or like thinks is funny. I'm like, wait, this is sh it's Jackie. speaker-1: But I think she's really the worst character that shows one hard. It's a compliment. speaker-0: It's literally you. Zeph. Come here. Come here. Can you just say he did the Grease? speaker-1: Say tell the wiggies if you have any background noise. It was Dev cleaning the house, and we are grateful for that. speaker-0: Yeah. Think it is up. And he's gone. speaker-1: I wanna tell you that like I feel really grateful to Hashem that I've learned the error of my ways and I'm back to Inkle Socks. speaker-0: You are? ⁓ in Closex, yeah. Mm-hmm. speaker-1: Yeah, like I wasn't doing the right thing. No now actually Tucked into tights, yes. Tucked in sorry, tucked into leggings, yes. speaker-0: Other But even still, not when you're so small. Like it's just Yeah. speaker-1: Ankle socks is where we need to speaker-0: That was a while ago when we were right. speaker-1: I like every time I put on ankle sock, I'm like, it feels right. It feels right. It's fine. That's where I'm supposed to be. I can't do more than that. Like my ankles need to breathe. speaker-0: millennials and that's okay. It's not for me that my ankles need to breathe, which like I guess it is, which is like it's not made for me. Like that is really just speaker-1: You need to have really, really thin lower legs. speaker-0: Yeah, I don't. It's just not for me. speaker-1: For those of you who told me to read yesteryear, what's wrong with you? Genuinely, I can't I I finished yesteryear. And when I finished yesteryear is nobody's business. Cause maybe it was on your kipper, maybe it wasn't. But speaker-0: Mm-hmm. speaker-1: What a horrendously disturbing book and that's coming from me. speaker-0: Yeah, the fact like I I know you guys always tell me like you've told me a billion times what this book is about and I still I obviously don't remember, but if you are saying that, I don't wanna know. Like I don't even want three cap. speaker-1: Can't first of all, I can't believe someone thought of this idea. Second of all, I don't understand what the purpose of it. I thought we were having a commentary commentary on the trad wife culture. Like, I do think trad wife culture is a response to like progressive liberalism. You know what I'm saying? Like all this, like well, all the gender stuff or whatever. I think trad wife is like the opposition to that. Like it's a response, it's like an extreme response to that. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: ⁓ and they were talking about the manosphere again. ⁓ my god, how that played in. But like I don't understand what they were trying to say. I d ⁓ the messaging was so unclear. Like, I don't know if you're there there was no commentary on culture. It was just about Tradwife and you just wanted to tell a disturbing story, which like, okay, do your thing, but like what's wrong with you? And second of all, like there was an opportunity to say something here, and you didn't say anything. There was just A bunch of nonsense. I had no clues having 90% of the book trying to figure it out. And then when we figured it out at the end, I was like, ew. Why? Why would I but why'd I just go through all of that? Like, if you enjoyed that book, explain to me what was interesting about it. None none of that was interesting. It was all disturbing and horrifying. Wow. Zero. I mean, I did give it 3.3 stars because I'm just the most generous reader on Goodreads. speaker-0: Three point three. speaker-1: Three point two maybe. But like would not recommend. I can't believe it's a popular book. There it's speaker-0: I think I want you to change your rating. speaker-1: To like zero point negative ten. speaker-0: Two maybe like three is still speaker-1: The thing is, like the read trying to figure it out, like, ⁓ hm, what's happening here was like ooh interesting. But then like as I kept grabbing the book Yeah, it wasn't hard to read. Right. Like it was interesting to read until you get to a point you're just like, Ugh, ew, that's terrible. And then also the point was lost. Like I I didn't I feel like we missed the point here. speaker-0: Yeah. I can use a good book if any of the giggies ever act. speaker-1: ⁓ I just started the Calamity Club. ⁓ no, I just did it 'cause I I my mom gave it to me and I was like, what does calamity mean? I couldn't think Godzilla defined it for me. Remember what she said, but like destruction no. speaker-0: You keep talking about that. And I Calamity is like all over the place. speaker-1: It's a calamity. Like how do you use it? Calamity. speaker-0: Okay. speaker-1: I should know what it means, but it's six hundred and fifty pages. It's very intimidating. speaker-0: Wait, a calamity is a terrible event or a disaster that causes a lot of damage, suffering or trouble. speaker-1: Lot of The Calamity Club. It's about orphans. speaker-0: no. speaker-1: Top hard. We'll see how it goes. But I've definitely been in a reading slump and yesteryear did not help me. I I'm so disturbed by that. speaker-0: And if you're saying that, then that's really bad. speaker-1: Why do we call it chat slop? Like who can't AI slop? But why do we say slop? Yeah, but ha we don't say slop for anything else. Like if something is ugly, I just think like, yuck. Yeah. I don't say like ⁓ slop. Like I never say that. Like what is that? She's like, look at that chat slop. Like who invented that and why is everyone involved? speaker-0: That's just the word that we're Like the just the It's not even a I never heard chat slot, but like I speaker-1: When I see it, I'm like, ⁓ it's AI. I don't say AI slop or chat slop. But why? How did we come up with that? It's not sloppy. It's just slop. It's just identifiably AI. speaker-0: No, I say AS Top all the time. That's just the Yeah, it's just it's Right, or just like bad. speaker-1: Chat badge. I just don't know how we ended up with slop. speaker-0: I have like bedroom slot. ADHD slot. speaker-1: There's different ways we could use slop that might make more sense. Hog slop. Yeah. Yeah. When your house and ⁓ speaker-0: Like I could just like Yeah, yeah. ⁓ I'm gonna start using that. I feel like growing up my mom would have th like said that to me all the time. speaker-1: Maybe you're thinking of slob. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, that's fine. ⁓ I was al my mom was always telling me that I'm such a slob. I'm sad. That's what it felt. It felt very like natural. Like why do I hear my mom just scrolling me like slap? Yes, slap, Jessica. speaker-1: I don't know. Jusqu'Lum BB Jessica Slav. I had the Zuchos to hang out with Bracha and Karen over Yemeth. It was so lovely. We had girl talk. speaker-0: Was it fun? Yeah. Yeah. speaker-1: This is the highlight of Daniel's yante. speaker-0: Also, like I'll tell you what was nice for me. I I'm usually like always on the phone, Jackie. ⁓ it's doing that thing again, Jackie. Always. I don't think we could have an episode where my phone doesn't write. The entire episode. Doing it still. I never over there. ⁓ It's recording. speaker-1: ⁓ recording everything we're saying and putting it in a test. speaker-0: Every time. Okay. So I was saying that I'm usually like on the phone with Jackie and it will be like me being in Baby, like, ⁓ I have to get up, you know? Like you know my morning. Like you see me at every like part of my day and stage. And this morning I was sleeping. Zev was at Shual. And my mom, someone maybe my mom came up and said, Jackie's here. Mm-hmm. I was sleeping though. And then I like just like called up. I'm like, Jackie, come upstairs. So she came. And it was fun just like getting to hang out with you like in person like that, you know? Like when do I ever get to like speaker-1: Karen came back up and she's like, Who made the beds? No, she's she's like, Jackie made the beds? I was like, No. She's like, Who made the beds? I was like, Rapha. She goes ⁓ speaker-0: And then I come and I'm like, what happened? She's like, You made your bets? ⁓ Because basically, like when my mom comes, like she'll do everything for me. And like she'll make my beds and and then like Zeb will be like, ⁓ Brotha, wow. And I'm like, Yeah, thank you. Like, you know, my mom like is fine with me like taking the credit, you know? So like shh but It was really helpful. It was like putting everything away. Jackie was sitting there. Like I Yeah, we were having some like girl talk and I was making the bed, putting everything away. And then I used my spray that you really like. speaker-1: I was drinking my coffee. Yeah, I need the spray. What is it called? It's are we not are we gatekeeping? speaker-0: ⁓ we don't gatekeep that. Come on. It is called The Unstopp Unstoppables. Like you know the the bead, the scented beads. So it's like that brand. And it's the Lux Scent Wrinkle Releaser number twenty six. speaker-1: You send me a link. Also, what are the beads? Like tell me more about beads. speaker-0: Yeah. The toxic people hate those things. I love them. speaker-1: But what are the beads? What are we beating? speaker-0: It just makes you the clothing smell better. You put them in in the wash. First you put the beads in and then you put everything else in. speaker-1: ⁓ you put it in the washer or in the dryer. ⁓ but like everyone wants like scent free everything 'cause of like and you're like scents. speaker-0: And I once said it give me all the sense. Yeah. It happens to be that the beads, I don't like need to use the beads. ⁓ it's just kind of part of the routine. I don't know if I necessarily like smell a difference with them. But the the wrinkle releaser spray, most of my lip is already like wrinkle free. So I don't really use it for that. I use it more like it's I smell like the smell and it really lasts. speaker-1: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. speaker-0: Like the smell last. And you also really liked it. You're like, What was it? speaker-1: Yeah, I really liked it. I also liked your mom's perfume. Wait, I think ⁓ I think there's something different about me. What? I'm like, think about like all what I've been talking about. I'm so sensitive to smell. Like the concert when I had to leave shul because my sm my my sweater smelled. speaker-0: Yeah. The girlies are gonna think you're pregnant again. I promise you. speaker-1: That's not the case. Just joking. No, I think like first of all, I think it's genetic. My aunts are very, very crazy about smell as well. I was telling my dad, I was like, I'm like turning into my aunts now. They're just it's just starting now, but like even like my kids' feet, you know, like I can't everything real but it really bugs me. Like I can't get past it. I need to clean it. Like I can't speaker-0: always been like that. It's interesting randomly getting that. speaker-1: I have to change if I smell, you know? Mhm. Like even from cooking, even from like I'm really sensitive. What is that? Could it be like a postpartum thing? speaker-0: He'd be. Could be. I feel like these days I hear everyone's still talking about like it's from the vaccine. Like speaker-1: From the vaccine? You mean the COVID vaccine? speaker-0: Yeah. Like I feel like over around if that came up a lot. Like different things. We're like, It's from the vaccine. Okay. You wanna see something once I can? I bought this limited to sweater. Do you like it? speaker-1: Where? I do like it. But where? speaker-0: Unvinted, I can't stop on Vinted. speaker-1: ⁓ no, but wait, is that actually like limited to it doesn't look like limited to? speaker-0: It's limited to speaker-1: Like it's from nineteen ninety seven. speaker-0: So speaker-1: Michelle keeps telling me she can't get off whatnot. speaker-0: I haven't I haven't started because I know that it literally is the type of thing that I won't get off of. speaker-1: Literally the the opposite of what I would ever do. speaker-0: No, I know that it's like everything in one app that I won't be able to get off of. What is she getting? Everything. Like what? I don't know. speaker-1: Don't ask, I don't want you to know. speaker-0: I know, 'cause I'm like really debented. What speaker-1: What is vintage? Poshmark, no? Vinted? speaker-0: This Pashmark, but like Pashmark has like seven dollar shipping and vinted does it first I was selling on Vinted, like I Okay. I love the people that are like, no, I I only sell on Pashmark and Vinted. Like I only sell and I'm like, ⁓ no, I buy everything like I'm buying everything. Everything. It's so fun. It's so fun. speaker-1: I would say like seventy percent of clothes for Yantef were second hand for in my hand. Really proud of that. I'm gonna use my scent beads if I want to use my scent beads. I'm saving the environment in other ways. ⁓ but these are hormone disruptors actually. ⁓ yeah. speaker-0: Yeah. Me too. Me too. It's Different issue. Yeah. speaker-1: Ugh, there's only so much something to do. I need to see something. speaker-0: The full time. Yeah. speaker-1: Who's gonna come over that? speaker-0: Where are you going? If I did this in the middle of a recording, you would have my head. Jackie just left. No guys, like you know. speaker-1: Eve, I smell. speaker-0: No, but you got up. You left. You got up and then you spilled it when you got up. That's speaker-1: I got ⁓ because I think I see my name. speaker-0: Where? What are you looking for? speaker-1: Why do I see my name here? speaker-0: I'm not wearing glasses. I see it too. Jackie. I can't explain it. Yeah, J A C I I see it. I see it. I see it. But when I'm ⁓ that's weird. Jay speaker-1: to it I can't see it. Yes. speaker-0: Yes, we yeah. Wait, that's weird. That's weird. Me too. It's so clear over here. This is weird. speaker-1: Okay. I see Yes. I'm really freaked out. I see my name. In Bracha's house there's a painting of three rabbits. speaker-0: ⁓ I'll tell you why you're not allowed to say it. Can I please say like the backstory on this? Sure. Zeb ⁓ had a student like years ago, I think she was either in sixth or eighth grade. And she was really, really artistic. And Zev asked her if she would make a painting for our house. And she was so excited and she was like, I would love to, which is so nice of her. And she said to Zev, like what kind of art do you guys like? So I sent her a few of my favorite paintings. And I was like, this is the vibe, like this is the kind of stuff that I like. So I thought she would like make her own thing, but instead she ended up copying one of the paintings that I sent her. Like she she completely copied it. Like it looks looks like the original. So you can't post it because I always get so nervous that like the original artist will speaker-1: I'm not gonna s show it, but I there are three rabbis and one rabbi's holding a Torah and the top of the Torah there's like lines, but the lines look like the word Jackie. And I kept looking at it, I'm like, why is my name there? Yeah. Is the student's name Jackie? And she like put her initials there, her like when you go up close, you don't see it. Yeah. speaker-0: Really weird. It's really weird. ⁓ It's really creepy. I know. Like it's like an optical really weird. I promise we're not high. speaker-1: I know, it's really weird. No, that was real that's very interesting. And I ca I've been staring at it for the past hour to see like maybe it's just in my head. Anyway, now that I'm looking around your house I see it too. I know. Now that I'm looking around your house, every piece of art has a story. speaker-0: One doesn't. speaker-1: Mazal Brah Simfa. Mazha. What's the story? Yeah. Story. That's a story. You made it. Jeffers art. That art. Yeah. Everything has a story. Those over there, the weird ones. speaker-0: For Braha. I made it. What's the story? ⁓ Jeff Bushner's eye. Yeah, these have stories. Well no, that's good Deutsch. speaker-1: Uh-huh. Everything's got a story, snakes? speaker-0: Yeah, but do you see how like I need a like how I'm ready to change? No, not at all. speaker-1: Well, I think you should keep going with what you're doing. ⁓ You like it? I love it. speaker-0: Really? Yeah. And like now that I'm like not an Israelite music. speaker-1: Just I think you should hang up Roz Hartman live at Avo de Cisral. speaker-0: We love Ross Hartman. we had Ross Hartman concert and I think it was actually Neil, he made that really cool poster and it's just been like sitting here since. speaker-1: So hang it up. ⁓ Frame it, put it somewhere. Here's the thing. I don't know, I'm not familiar with his work. speaker-0: Rahs, you're in my house. You should. I liked him. You'll never know what you would find here. Just my name. Yeah, that's weird. Okay. speaker-1: ⁓ so you know how it's been raining the past two days? speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: Like do I talk about on here how like I know I sound like Karen from Mean Girls, but I know when it's gonna rain. My body tells me when it's gonna rain. My arms and my My arms and legs, I get like joint pain. speaker-0: Jackie. I'm sure we've discussed this before because my mom and sister have the same thing. They get really big headaches. speaker-1: I don't get headaches. I get like really like what you would whole life since I'm a kid, if it's like really snowy, really rainy coming, like I don't have to look at the forecast, meaning I do every day anyway, but before I look, I so I knew this storm was happening before we speaker-0: Your whole life you've had this? You know. Interesting. Hmm. speaker-1: And I've gotten I went to a rheumatologist, I got tested for arthritis, I don't have it. speaker-0: Okay, this is my theory. You know, so first of all, again, like my mom and Amanda have that too. Like they get really, really bad headaches. Thank God, like, I don't have it. Or maybe it's a cool thing to have. I don't know. But this is my theory. You know how the body keeps the score. So maybe in a previous life, something happened in the rain. speaker-1: And that my body can tell when it's Yeah. speaker-0: Yeah, so like the body keeps a score, like there's like a some sort of connection. We thought you were on the Holocaust, maybe it was like raining. I can't be talking. speaker-1: Maybe it rained. I feel like that was not the biggest problem. But you're facing ⁓ speaker-0: Mm-hmm. speaker-1: It was amazing. speaker-0: We can't keep this. ⁓ Is that okay? ⁓ yeah. It was very dang if your body remembered that. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ speaker-1: No, I I have like I get like f like body aches in my arms and legs. Did you ever get growing pains when you were a kid? speaker-0: I don't remember but Margot gets them. speaker-1: my kids get them. I've I like really remember getting them very badly, which you'd think I was like much taller than I am. How many like growing pains I got. ⁓ but like they feel like growing pains. Like that's what it feels like. I have to take like Tylenol terrible sometimes. But so like maybe I should have been a weatherman because like I can't tell when the re speaker-0: is coming. Yeah, you should. But like back to the body keeps the score. speaker-1: Guys, what's wrong with me? Like could someone diagnose me like the doctors? Like what to do? Like I when I was thirty, like I went to go like all my doctors, like I started taking care of my health. I went back to the dentist, you know. And that was the one thing I wasn't able to figure out. Like I went to a bunch of different doctors. No. speaker-0: No, it's like Do that. That's a good start. Okay. ⁓ the body keep the score thing is so crazy. I had a traumatic thing happen to me. Mm-hmm. And then randomly this year I just like wasn't feeling like myself. And then on my phone it was like a picture, like Yeah. On this day. Right. And I was like, that's weird. I speaker-1: Was an anniversary of that. Right. Right, you weren't connected to that. speaker-0: I had no idea that happened on this day. But my body knew. Body always knows. Right? speaker-1: Body. Really I've really tried to read that book so many times I can't get past chapter speaker-0: I don't need to read the book because I get it. Your body keeps the score. Like I don't need a book on it. Like I get it. Like your body Yeah, like your body remembers things that like we our minds might not like allow us get it, but like our body gets it. So even though you think it's not a big deal, the body remembers. I don't need to read the book. Like I fully get it. speaker-1: Inside speaker-0: And I'm saying, I don't know if there's a chapter on this, but I'm saying it could even be from years later that the body will remember that day. Believe her lifetimes. speaker-1: You've been lifetime. ⁓ I'm sure that's a summary of it. ⁓ Spark Notes version. speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah. And Jackie's. speaker-1: What do they do for Sparknotes these days? Did we figure that out? Chat? That name is really freaking me out. Why is my name there? speaker-0: Chat. And it's this let me just say, like it's so clear from where we're sitting, it looks like it's black, Jackie. And then when you look up close, it's just a bunch of lines in different colors. Like it's not even black. Body keeps the score. The painting keeps the score. That was so weird. But I'm off. speaker-1: That was such a weird thing that do that. She'd literally just like walk around on walls of the whole school and write Jackie Jackie. speaker-0: That boy. And also like the wall wasn't a wall, it was stone. speaker-1: Yeah, but also like was I was it like funny because like I would never do such a like speaker-0: I think so. I don't know, but like that's mean. But also you didn't care. It was just like the shtick. Yeah. Jackie Nad boy. speaker-1: Imagine that like came back to help me, you know, like you will be arrested in this role. Vandalism. speaker-0: Sha kids. If you're like in seminary for the year and just like finds a Jackie Nadboy like original speaker-1: Country and all over the country. speaker-0: That's cool. Well Jackie. ⁓ wait, I have a question for you before we end. Is it gonna rain this week? speaker-1: Yeah. Tomorrow. speaker-0: Are like are you do you need an advil right now? No. Like are you you're not gonna hear, okay? speaker-1: Sorry, I'm good. You're hi. I also get it like two to three days before the rain. speaker-0: Okay. So are we good for Okay. And when it's actually raining, are you feeling better? Okay. ⁓ wow. Okay. I totally believe you. A hundred percent I believe you. I'm wondering if I would ever be able to connect the two if it w if something like I I don't think I could ever c connect anything in my life like speaker-1: No, tomorrow's gonna rain. Okay. Yeah. Unless it's gonna rain the next day. ⁓ Do you not believe me? When you feel a certain yeah connected to certain things happening. speaker-0: Yeah. Like that's like the magical part of therapy for me, I would say. Right. For real. Yeah, like my therapist being like, Well, remember when you said this? Like that and I'm like, first, like that's crazy that you remember, but also that's so true. Like I don't connect speaker-1: something so interesting about being ensured. They're saying like some that like there's so many different dynamics to being in shul. There's Daviding with the minion, keeping up with the minion, also having your own personal prayers, but also like wanting to be part of the minion. And also like being in a public setting but having personal feelings that like feeling comfort level of expressing that in a public setting. Like there were so many dynamics to being in shul. And I was like, wait, that's so true. Like I'm way more comfortable dominating at home just because like that's my that's like where I'm doing it most. Or like on my own because I also I'm a woman. ⁓ but like when you're in Schul like there is so much so many dynamics going on at the same time. And like balancing that, you know, how much of your own versus C-Bor it's like a lot. Yeah. I was like, that's an amazing point. speaker-0: True. ⁓ Yeah, and totally related to that. That is a good call. speaker-1: Such a we don't say that enough. Every time I hear other people saying it, I'm like, ⁓ my god, we're so relevant. speaker-0: no people always do that to me, like but I recently did it myself and it was so embarrassing. Like I did, I like said, like, that's such a good call. Then I said, ha ha, and I'm like, ⁓ fuck. Yeah. Well, Jackie. This was so much fun. Thank you for being here and for listening. speaker-1: Yeah, we can't do it. ⁓ yeah exactly so Do this again sometime. Please give us a five-star reading on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It gives us plenty of pleasuck to do more episodes. speaker-0: Yeah. And I just want to say we love hearing from you guys. Bye, Gwiggy. speaker-1: And that's a wrap. Love ya.
