speaker-0: Hello, hello, welcome back. speaker-1: Hello, welcome back to catching up with Liz and Evi. speaker-0: Here we are. It's been a it's been ⁓ a couple of weeks honestly. speaker-1: It really has been. Three. At least two. At least two. It was lovely. I was home for a cousin's wedding. It was so sweet. It was so like very Michael, who is my cousin. Like he was it was just like me and Liz are cousins, but I have other cousins. ⁓ other side. ⁓ and Mike Mike and me were like really close at a young age and ⁓ it was just like it was so sweet to be there. I feel like speaker-0: How is the wedding? Not my cousin. Abby's cousin. The others. speaker-1: You know, you get kind of jaded when you have these big families and you're like, ⁓ another wedding. But like every event you do get to go to, which I do take I I take it a little less for granted since I do have to like put a lot of effort to show up. But it it's just every time I'm there, I'm like, ⁓ this is so worth being here. Like it's such a good thing to do to show up, you know, and like Yeah. And just like being there and seeing Yeah. speaker-0: I can yeah. Like if you're speaker-1: You would know. Liz has been to how many weddings? ⁓ You should count so many. You should count at some point because I think speaker-0: Like twenty-seven or something like that. Since like we were adult, like as yeah, it's ins it's insane. But I will say this ⁓ it is obviously like there it's sure there's a thing as like wedding burnout, wedding burnout. Once you get yes, once you get there and you're just like it's like a couple you love or you're friends with, and it's like there is something s always so special about the two people getting married. Like every time you go, I'm like, ⁓ this is like really nice that we're here. speaker-1: Wedding burnout or social engagement. Yeah, because people put so much effort into their weddings. Like we've talked about this, but like anyway, just seeing seeing the little differences that everyone has for their weddings, that's what makes you it that's what hits me in the feels. And I think like like Mike, Mike and Haley, I have to send you some videos. ⁓ my god. Cause they they were just like it would it became very clear to me that they are the same kind of crazy and the same kind of weird. Like they were on the dance floor just You know how Michael is. Michael is intense and like all over the place. And I love it. I love you, Mike. Shout out, Mike. And but they were just mashing each other's freaks and it was awesome. And it was so cool. Haley seems like and I don't know her that well because, you know, they met and dated while I have lived away, but she is just like super sweet. And like I think Mike has found a very good partner. Anyway, so the wedding was very nice. It was a Byzantine mass, which I had never been to before. We were raised Catholic, but Mike now attends a Byzantine church, which is like in the Catholic rite, but it's has its own kind of things. The mass was like No. You don't have to wear like a a doily like you do for a Latin mass or something. I don't know. That's what they look like. speaker-0: To wear like a thing And a piece of lace. speaker-1: Yeah, you know. You don't have to do anything like that. But you do stand pretty much the whole time and the whole thing is like just the priest chanting and ⁓ and singing and like at one point at like speaker-0: Like I'm picturing like something just like really funny. Like almost like Wolf of Wall Street. speaker-1: ⁓ my god. Now I want that to be what it was. That would have been better. But no, it was very it was very nice. But at many points during the mass, ⁓ one of the priests, there was like three up there, and it like has like these ornate gates and like the way they like design the altar is very different. ⁓ it's very gilded, like a lot of gold and iconography and whatever. But speaker-0: As soon as he said chairs, like we speaker-1: the priests every fifteen minutes would be like, Please be attentive, be attentive, pay attention And you're just like, Okay, bro, I'm paying attention speaker-0: wedding where not everyone is here because of the church. They're here for the couple. speaker-1: Like no one's ever been more paying attention. speaker-0: Nothing nothing ⁓ stands out more when you're at a wedding. And like from New Jersey there's lot of like Irish Catholic, Italian Catholics, like there's a lot of church weddings. Nothing stands out more when you're at a wedding and one side of is the family that goes to church and they like are cueing literally everyone else. Everyone else is like, ⁓ shit stands out. Like, okay, yeah. Yes. And it's been like since like they were like two, I don't know, in grade school that they speaker-1: Right. They're like Wait, we don't sit or stand no more? And you're like, wait, hold on. It's and with your spirit these days, okay? Mm-hmm. ⁓ Yeah. So it was but it was it was very cool. It was very cool. They d there was a few other different customs in there. ⁓ and the day before or no, the day of the wedding, I got my hair cut, cut it probably like at least twelve inches off. speaker-0: Talk me through what what was the It's cute. Let me I think it's really sweet. Really cute over with the headphones. Thank you. speaker-1: Did you see this cover? I really like it. Thank you so much. ⁓ I wa so I've been cutting my own hair over the last like Island life. Island life. Just like over the last year and a half. 'Cause I've just wanted trims and like I wasn't doing anything crazy. I was growing out some whatever I had bleached my hair, ⁓ like four years ago and I was still growing that out. And ⁓ so I was like, I'm just gonna trim it a bunch. And so I was cutting it myself. And so I was like, All right, I'm gonna trim my hair again, it's time. speaker-0: I don't speaker-1: And then I was looking at these videos and I always rewatch YouTube videos to make sure I remember what I'm doing. And ⁓ I just watched this one hairstylist give herself, ⁓ some kind of bob, like a choppy, like slightly angled bob. And I was like, That sounds nice. Like No, I did not. It is a good story in a way. So I was so I had this bob in my head now, and I was like, Okay, I'm gonna try and do this myself because why not? Right. But I have speaker-0: Wait, did you do this yourself? speaker-1: The trimming technique I use is very simple. You basically just split the hair down the middle, pull it in front, and you can just trim it as you pull it in front because then when you push it back, it'll be layered because of you know, the hairs in the back are gonna be pulled from whatever. Blah blah blah. ⁓ I can't do that with a bob because I have to be able to see and you have to and I didn't have enough mirrors. So I was like, Okay. I was in New Jersey and I was like, I know Ulta over here, Ulta just takes appointments. I was at my sister Katie's for ⁓ dinner. We were having like the most Jersey meal ever. Her boyfriend made us chicken parm. Ben brought a pizza. yeah, there was like ⁓ sauce and noodles and, you know, just so much sauce and so we were all sitting around there. Amy was there, my friend, and she was like, I was like, all right, I'm just gonna book for Ulta to tomorrow morning. My mom was like speaker-0: Matter. speaker-1: complaining because sh her hairstylist was on vacation and she needed to get her hair done for this wedding and then Olga Olga. So then Amy just goes, guys, guys, guys. Evie, stop. Arlene, stop. I have a girl. Her name is Olga. She works. She's like, don't, don't judge me. She works at the Supercuts. No. But I had never been to I've never been to short ⁓ supercuts. Then my head I'm like I don't know I don't know about speaker-0: Not judging at all. I was pregnant supercuts. Okay. Well it was like one of like I was like on leave. It was approaching my due date. I like, I just need a tr I just need a trim. speaker-1: Yeah. Well now I kinda get the hype 'cause they're so fucking fast. Anyway, so I go to Olga So I'm like, Well, I'm gonna trust Olga. I gotta go to Amy's girl. I gotta see. Meanwhile, Anna is like laughing at us. Like a supercut from every corner. I was like, I didn't go to supercuts, I went to see Olga. Amy was like, She's just known she's a clergy. Yeah. I mean, that is what I did. She was like she was like, Her schedule's free. Her schedule's free. Arlene, let's go. ⁓ So yeah, we went to Olga, who is from Poland and is very nice. And I was like, Can you do this? And I showed her the the exact YouTube video that I wanted and she was like, Okay. She was like, Do you want the color too? 'Cause the video had dyed her hair and I was like, Not today, Olga, not today. but yeah. speaker-0: And I also have I I trust your cuts. speaker-1: Right. I d I don't know about your die jobs. But ⁓ yeah. And then when she made that first cut out. She made the first cut, like the base of my neck for this angled bob is like the shortest that it ⁓ length that she cut. And it is like when she made that first cut, I could feel it like above the base of my neck and I was like, This is terrifying. This is truly harrowing. speaker-0: It's like you anyone speaker-1: I've had long hair forever. speaker-0: You hear scissors behind your ear and you automatically are like, ⁓ my god speaker-1: No, it was literally a thrill. speaker-0: Everyone has that fear. I don't know where it can't c if you're born with it or the grade school thing, but like everyone has that fear. The scissors by your ear, you're like speaker-1: Shout out to Olga. How about you? How has it been for the past two weeks since we've last chatted? speaker-0: Good. I have my birthday. I turned thirty one. speaker-1: Happy birthday, Liv Wooheo. Thirty one baby. speaker-0: Thirty one. Yeah. It's it's like Andrew's like, You're in your thirties now. I'm like I am. ⁓ no, it was very nice. We did yeah, went ⁓ the day before my birthday to a brewery that's up the road from us with ⁓ some of my siblings. ⁓ I don't know what day it was. But got ⁓ like a nice diner, brunch, breakfast with some of the girls. Some of the girls we grew up with. speaker-1: And then speaker-0: And then we were supposed to do there was like a nice beer garden by our house. ⁓ we're supposed to do like a a thing there, but it was yesterday and it was like extremely crappy weather, just cold and raining all day. So we did it Friday night. ⁓ and not everyone like, you know, yeah switched it last minute. But it was very it was really nice. Very chill. It was cute. Nice birthday. That's what it was on a Monday too, which is always a weird day. So There I feel like there are like things the weekend before and the weekend after. But it c it's so nice. That is so nice. You always feel loved on your birthday. I think that's everyone should feel loved on their birthday. I agree. speaker-1: I think like the whole like birthdays don't really matter later as you get older. I kinda like disagree. Like like because if you don't acknowledge your birthday, it sucks. It doesn't feel like speaker-0: There to acknowledge. Yeah, it doesn't feel good. So like I have like our friend Mary, we were like randomly in the group chat talking getting brunch and she's like, ⁓ Liz, we'll celebrate your birthday. Like she's very on top of it and aware. And I'm like, I that's what I want to be. No. I wanna be more like that. I agree. And then my sister Hannah also was like, Let's get together with the siblings on Sunday for like, but like specifically for your birthday, even though we were just hanging out. No. But like I'm like, that's super nice thoughtful, like that, put things together. speaker-1: It's super I know. I'm trying to think of like what's like why don't I why I don't know why I don't like proactively celebrate other people too. Like I don't know. speaker-0: Exactly. Yeah. You can get carried away with like, ⁓ I need to plan like a whole thing, da da da. Yeah. That it does not need to be like that. speaker-1: No, there's a there's a fine line, but it doesn't mean like you're not like more mature because you ignore your birthday. You know what I mean? I feel like somewhere in my head it's like I don't know. speaker-0: It is not a sleigh. speaker-1: Is that the kids? Are we back to Slay? Is Slay back? It's fun. It is. speaker-0: No, no, I still say play. ⁓ wait, what other updates did I have? One other one. I've been watching Call the Midwife on that speaker-1: ⁓ did you start from season one? It is so good. speaker-0: It's so like here's what I was thinking about it. It feels like you're reading a book but you're watching it. Yeah. It's so sweet. speaker-1: And like No, I love Call the Midwife. I used to watch that with my mom all the time. Love it. No, she loves it. She did love it. Arlene loves it. Shout out. speaker-0: Your mom would love She already does love Yeah, I can yeah, it does give Arlene vibes. It's like it's so it's so good cute and good. Perfect for like when your husband's out, just throw it on. speaker-1: I will I could easily start that from scratch. Plus it has some actors. When you re when you start season one, there's actors that you're like, ⁓ you're famous now. And you're famous now. Like one of the or maybe she joins later season, but one of them is like Engagement. Yeah. I think anyway. ⁓ that show like reminds me of ⁓ some like PBS Masterpiece The or BBC Masterpiece Theater. Whatever the fuck acronym it is. It reminds me of that, but like it's a little bit more elevated, I feel. Like it has more like mature themes, whereas like masterpiece theater can feel very like G rated. speaker-0: Yeah. Mm. I've never watched the masterpiece things. But I do speaker-1: Me and my mom watch all all God's creatures great and small. And that is like basically like a bedtime story for adults in my opinion. No, it's like so cute. speaker-0: Birthday parties and bedtime stories. speaker-1: That's thirty one, baby. Thirty one. Cheers. Please. God, I miss my mom. Ugh. Anyway. She is the best. ⁓ yeah, what else has happened, Liz? You turn speaker-0: With your mom. She's the best. Those are really the biggest things. If you want to watch him call the midwife. Yeah, watch him call the midwife. ⁓ if you want a real update, he's sleeping in his crib. ⁓ speaker-1: Rio. How old is he now? speaker-0: For bed, he's five months. He was five months on the twenty third. Wow. speaker-1: Time keeps time keeps going. speaker-0: There's also more songs named Rio than I thought that I know. Like Duran Duran. Sure. Is there a song called Rio? speaker-1: ⁓ It's a great song. Not to Glee, because that's how I know that. They did Hungry Like the Wolf and Rio. it's a great, it's a great did a mashup and it's so good. You have to listen to it. Okay, I'll look it up. That's it's ⁓ it's the best people. It's Matt Bomber and ⁓ not Dylan, ⁓ such the D. speaker-0: Yeah. It is a great song. ⁓ like a mashup? Who does it? Who are they? Okay. speaker-1: D. speaker-0: Are you talking about ⁓ Dale? Chris, yes. Okay. speaker-1: Darren Chris. Darren Chris. Anyway, great. I'm pretty sure it's the two of them and they fucking destroy it. It's amazing. ⁓ I hope I'm not wrong. Anyway, wait, one other thing I wanted say. when I was flying home, so after the wedding, it was just me. Connor stayed here and I had an or airport an airport trip all to myself and I was in the airport like with like two hours to kill. And I walked into Hudson News as one does just to peruse the books. And I probably perused the books for about an hour. And I ended up bringing buying two books. And I brought home about six books from New Jersey. And ⁓ my God. And then something else. So I just like have ⁓ and then I borrowed a couple books from friends like recently. So what my TBR in person, my physical TBR is like 10 books right now. And it feels Awesome. Like I'm excited to find all of it. It feels good because I feel like excited to like dig through it. Like yeah. speaker-0: Sure, does it feel good? You know what's hard for me whenever I finish a book, if it's like one and done and there's it's not a series, is like ⁓ my god, I don't want to do I have a whole new story. It sounds so overwhelming. Yeah. Like you have to like start a new book. speaker-1: Yeah, I do understand. speaker-0: It's the best. Yeah. And there's nothing better. speaker-1: Well, the book hangover is the worst, right? Like if you read a great book and it feels satisfying to finish it, it's really hard to start something new. Yes. And you like kind of need to to like feel better, but at the same time it's like Yeah, it doesn't hard it's very hard. I will say the books I brought back all vary in genre. Like there's at least half of them are like nonfiction. Half of them are like there's a couple essay books in there. There's a few so I feel like speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: There's a good mix where if I get tired of fiction speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can speaker-1: One thing. I'm reading like two at the same time already. I picked I picked a different fantasy novel up and I'm reading two at the same time. So there we go. And guess what? I have a book club tomorrow that I had don't even know what the book is. So like I'm a horrible book club member, but I'm a great reader. speaker-0: Know what I saw today? For any book people out there? The Everflame book, Spurn of the Everflame and all those The next book comes out I think early September. speaker-1: Is it though? ⁓ speaker-0: I know I know. And I kept checking. But I think it was like reannounced and like that would be shitty to do again. So that's supposed to come out like early September. I think late September. I might be wrong on this. I might have to look it but I think late September is the next Empyrean series, so like fourth wing of the next one. And then there's another book. speaker-1: ⁓ my god. speaker-0: Of a different ⁓ series that I've never read, that there's one coming out. I think it's like Faye and Alchemy or something like that. If that sounds familiar. But then the next Avatar book in like October. She's read each And then January is the next Avatar book. It's like one book that's basically coming out in two. speaker-1: She's like ⁓ my god. Okay. So a lot's coming down the pipeline. Yeah. speaker-0: The fall is gonna be fantasy. Okay. Yeah. Roman. speaker-1: I even reread the entire Eberflame series like a year ago. 'Cause it's really easy to. Like the first two books are very short and then the third book is very long. But that's okay 'cause the third one was the best one. speaker-0: They're good, I like them. It's like stupid at first and then they get good. speaker-1: Yeah. Agreed. Agreed. She did a really good job of like making the characters like just have a ⁓ my God, I can't figure out what I'm trying to say. Like she they had a redemption in the eyes of the reader, I think. Like I think both characters are extremely one sided. And then she really figured out how to make them three dimensional and like give them lives that make me care about them. I think she she did a really good job, in my opinion, of creating like that. that ⁓ star cross lover thing where like you're dying for them to get together. And I feel like a lot of authors try to do that. You get a lot of cheap like situations like that now where it's just like speaker-0: It feels so forced and speaker-1: feels really forced, like why can't they be together? I it and it feels that way in this series too. But I like there's like this like reverence that that main character, the guy has, that really sells it for me. Like his reverence to her, like 'cause it there's like a a deity involved. And that to me gives it a whole new light when he like he has this obsession with her. And I just like that. I like I like when the Law of Interest has an obsession. I don't know. And but the deity makes that like mean something. Yeah. speaker-0: Yes, I know what you mean. Yeah. ⁓ I don't know. Lutzer, I think is is the name. speaker-1: Yes. Also, she fixed the name Luther for me. All of a sudden I like it. Never fixed that name before. Luther. speaker-0: One name this is so a little bit off the random. One name Andrew really liked for the boy that he liked for a while was Lucian. And I said which is so funny because we Andrew I'm like that because that feels so random. But I was like, Do you do know that's from I was like, you know those fairy porn? speaker-1: Interesting. Very southern. Okay. Let me ruin this for you real quick. speaker-0: It didn't ruin it for him. speaker-1: Hey. ⁓ sex ⁓ with speaker-0: He's like, Do like him? Is he a good character? And I was like, He's okay. speaker-1: Is that spelled L U C I E N? speaker-0: Yes. Lucy and Lucian. Yeah. speaker-1: And I'm like, is it Lucian? Lucian? I guess whatever. However you pronounce her name is how you pronounce your name. I like names that start with L for a boy. There's not that many. Luke. Luca. Mm-hmm. Variations of Luke, yes. But like, other than that, what do we got? Larry? Larry. Larry the cucumber? The silly sauce Larry. speaker-0: Yeah. ⁓ anyway. Anyway, should we get into the topic? speaker-1: Let's get into the topic. What are we here to discuss today, Liz? speaker-0: But today we're gonna discuss how to have your best day. I made mine very generic. Like this could apply to pre kids, with kids, post kids. Ideally it's like a nice weather out, but it could work for for cold weather too. speaker-1: Okay. Versatile. Mine is more like a dream. Like what I dream a perfect day can be for all of us. Two different vibes. I like it. ⁓ so speaker-0: Vibes. First, if you really want to have like like I'm thinking like Saturday. Love it. I love it. Saturday. Friday, you need to be a little bit intentional. Do a little bit of pre-work. Ooh. And everything shower. Exfoliate. Shave. Wash your hair. Moisturize. The whole nine yards. Change your sheets. Ooh. speaker-1: Sar I don't have a good ⁓ Ooh, sorry. I'm just gonna react to this. I'm turned on already. Amazing. Okay, good. speaker-0: Fresh seats. ⁓ and you don't have to like clean, clean Friday, but like tidy up. Set that ground. You're you're gonna wake up to a fresh house. So laundry is put away, dishes are like at least clean. If they're left out drying, fine. They're at least clean. It's tidy. Your room, tidy. Launch like again, laundry is away, nothing's sitting on the dresser, like Again, it doesn't have to be like a deep, deep clean, but it's it's tidy. That's the Friday. speaker-1: Obsessed. speaker-0: You go to bed whenever you have your Friday, chill, whatever. But you wake up and there's morning light. You're well rested, but it's not like super late. You didn't like sleep in. Because you're gonna go make yourself a cup of coffee. You come back up to bed, you're cozy. Like change your socks, maybe put some cozy socks on, get back into bed with your coffee. And you have a good book. You're with the morning light, a good book, coffee. That's how you start speaker-1: Temperature question, what's the temperature? Outside. speaker-0: In your room? Outside. I don't know. Maybe it's snowing out. Maybe it's like a beautiful like spring tray. It's crisp. Or it's crisp. Or or it's that feeling on a summer day when you know it's gonna be a scorcher. You know it's gonna be hot. But like it's not hot yet. You feel it coming. Or it's that. Ugh. So again, across all seasons, but like Yep. Yeah. It's a good one. Either way you're enjoying yourself. Okay, that's how you start the morning. Wow. Heavy. speaker-1: Yep. Either way you're enjoying yourself. Got it. I feel like my perfect morning is very similar. We're we're having we're coming out to a peaceful environment. We're waking up, peaceful environment, tidiness. We are having a hot drink with a crisp morning. This is like on my best day, probably because I'm always so hot here. You wake up, you're cool. You're you're you go outside on a porch that hopefully looks out over something green. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. speaker-1: We're we're surrounded by nature. We hear the chirping of the the birds and the bugs. There's such a difference in sound past like ten AM. You don't have to like s wake up early. You just have to like wake up before the morning changes. You know what mean? I love what you said about morning light. I think the light is everything. And like, especially where I live, the the the temperature changes drastically when the sun hits certain speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: certain areas, right? But in the morning my backyard is shaded and there's like whatever coolness came in the night is lingering. speaker-0: I'm gonna interrupt you. What are you wearing? Is it like crisp? Is it like a hoodie? speaker-1: I was gonna say this and then I was like, I don't know if that's weird. So in my perfect morning, I'm wearing as little as possible. Like certainly no bra. honestly sleeveless tank top, baggy shorts. And definitely some shoes. I'm wearing slides at least. And I love, I love a sock with a slide, obviously. speaker-0: Not weird at all. Certainly. Amazing. Mm-hmm. speaker-1: I mean, if I was in a different environment, my perfect outfit in the morning is socks, slides, like comfortable shorts, and an oversized sweater, obviously. Yeah. speaker-0: I have to say, hoodies, sweatshirts, when you find like the perfect fit, nothing else can compare. It's hard to find. Yeah. But like you have other cute ones that look nice, that like you know, they're cute, whatever, fun color. No matter what, you're gravitating towards the one that feels cozy, good, but also like you like it looks good 'cause you feel speaker-1: No. Yeah. speaker-0: That good that one. No. Everyone's picturing it in their head right now. speaker-1: Like I'm wearing one of my favorite t shirts right now. It's just like super comfortable, super baggy. But like just not having to think about what your body looks like as you shift from like sitting to standing and like laying. Does that make sense? Like just not being aware of your body at all is like such a mental break. ⁓ that I find I really I really need sometimes. But yeah, very similar morning to yours, which I feel like is very just like it is your own time. It's slow. It's slow, but like I would put like block all my social media on my phone so I can't touch it. And like time moves differently when you don't have your phone on you. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. Hopefully in this case it would be slower. And you can have just like a super nice slow morning, maybe a little reading, maybe a little writing. But like on my Adirondack chair in my backyard, coffee, shade, maybe a cow comes by. That would be lovely. speaker-0: I love your cows. I love my cows. That's great. One thing I forgot to mention coffee and like s a pa like some type of baked good. There needs to be food. Like I need carps with my coffee. speaker-1: There needs to be food. Yep. Okay, I'm glad we said this because okay, now I'm gonna add into my perfect morning fresh sourdough, toasted carry gold butter. Yeah. Enough said. Delicious. That's my speaker-0: Delicious. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I'm thinking like a little sweet treat like a cookie baked the night before or a muffin. Don't ⁓ I'm gonna bring that up to bed, but like enjoy the coffee downstairs for a second, look out the window, then bring the rest of your coffee and read. Yeah. Also, ⁓ your point about the phone, do not disturb on Friday night. Leave it on leave it on do not disturb. It's important. Okay. Going into speaker-1: And Going into mid morning. speaker-0: Transitioning, yeah, mid morning. Mid morning into midday. So you had your nice slow morning. You're feeling like okay, relaxed, you're ready to get going. ⁓ you get ready. You're ready. Safe time, brush teeth, maybe some makeup, light makeup, but like we're putting on acute, comfortable, workout esque attire. From here. speaker-1: Obsessed with this like thought speaker-0: Something outside. You're either gonna go for a long walk or walk to a workout, a workout outside or in like an outside area. Maybe you're meeting up with friends for a walk, but like active and outside. If you're going to work out like at a gym, windows are down, good music, good playlist is on. Like, but like active outside. You are leaving the house. You're going. speaker-1: Check yes. speaker-0: Yes. You come back. You had like a really good activity. If you were gonna walk, maybe with someone you love, like a good friend, you're meeting up with someone. If not, like your favorite podcast or music or audible book, you know, your workout, ideally you're working out with a friend on this day because it's gonna be a chill, you're not you're in no rush. You're not on a schedule. So ideally if you're working out, it's with someone that you like to work with. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. Who's making the experience a little better? Heightening it. speaker-0: Exactly. Not too many people, like one, maybe two people. Yeah. That's the ideal workout. You come home, you're making breakfast. Big breakfast here. Like three eggs, toast, spinach, chicken sausage. It's filling. It's good. You sit really, really big drink of water. You already had your electrolytes at the gym with your creatine, of course. You come home, you're feeling like refreshed, you're feeling hungry. speaker-1: Ha ha. speaker-0: Good meal, like good nothing tastes better than like water with food after a workout. Nothing to me. Nothing. So that is your morning. You had food beforehands and now you're having like your big meal after some type of activity. I'm obsessed. ⁓ and then shower. Like middle of the afternoon or or start of the afternoon, you have that like afternoon light coming in. Mm-hmm. You don't need an everything shower because you did that yesterday. So it's like either a body shower or like a quick hair rinse, but it's like you just all you have to Exactly. You yeah, no like deep shave, whatever. Like you're done with that. You can spend as long or as little as you want, but like it's refreshing. There's nice light coming in. It's the day now. You come out and now you're like, okay, the rest of the day, like you got your workout in, you got your activity in. speaker-1: Could you refreshed? speaker-0: The rest of the day, you are like like you're already winning back to you. speaker-1: You paint quite a picture. Okay, so from the Adirondack chair. So this is interesting because I do like to work out most days and exercise. ⁓ and I normally do it first thing in the morning, which is normally like a rushed, like, ⁓ like I'm waking up, I'm moving, I'm getting out the door. So it's nice, all right. The difference in my perfect day is that I've had a slow morning, but now it's time to move my body. I think on my perfect day, me and Connor go for a walk. We go for speaker-0: Yeah, by crap. speaker-1: Or a bike ride. Yeah, a walk or a bike ride. We just went for a beautiful walk this morning, ⁓ which like a walk we had never done before, which is up ⁓ at Dome's Beach. It's actually like a bike trail, but we w walked up it, had beautiful views, and ⁓ it was just like a really nice day to do it and like so and it was like it's 10 minutes from my house. ⁓ Yeah, amazing. It was so beautiful, and like we just had never done that walk before. speaker-0: You posted that picture on speaker-1: So I think now me and Connor would both get out of the house. We go on this walk. We stopped by, we walked but nearby there was also like a coffee shop that had sandwiches. We got some sandwiches. And up above the coffee shop was a bar. So Connor went and got us two coronas. We walked with our sandwiches and our coronas to the beach. We sat, we had a beautiful lunch looking at the ocean, had a beer, and then went home and ⁓ continued on with our day. So I think that would That would be put into my perfect day. Now I will say, somewhere in here on my perfect day would also be after that, we would then go to the beach and hang out with some friends. ⁓ and this would be just before it's getting a little too hot out. so it wouldn't be like we're roasting our asses off. Maybe at like 11, we meet at the beach, we hang out, we we go for a dip, maybe I have another beer, we're playing some good music. We're chilling. Someone's really funny. I've laughed a lot. But someone. But we all know that it's going to be just like a two hour hang. It's not going to be an all day hang. I'm having like one beer and then chasing that with like some water. ⁓ and then we head back to the house. And as the sun gets really hot, we're I'm heading back home. I'm showering all that sand off, that sweat from the wet from the walk. ⁓ I'm not hungry yet because I've already had my like my delicious sandwich, ⁓ some beers. So I'm feeling like chill and ready to like maybe sit and read again now that I've socialized, moved my body, ⁓ and I'm clean again, which is so important. I think on my perfect day I am taking three showers. speaker-0: That sounds so lovely. speaker-1: I mean it's very close to what I did today and that's that's really nice. I know. speaker-0: What's nice about like ha like it's not hard to have a good day. You just need to be a more intentional. Yeah. speaker-1: And and set yourself up so that this isn't unattainable, right? Like you already have your gym, you already have your friends that you know like to walk, you already have your walking paths, you know. You live in a place where it's not hard to to find beautiful nature, you know? Not al speaker-0: For sure. I think for me, it's like even ⁓ like it's worth it to get out, like pack the baby up and do it because you always feel so good, like going on a walk or something. I'm like, you know, it's worth it. Get in get in the stroller, we're going. It takes that extra step. I'm like, ⁓ do I really want to like go out with him? But it's always worth it. And he enjoys it. So that is this is a reminder. It's not hard. You just have to be intentional. speaker-1: As a mother I agree. Yeah. And like sometimes you just have to get past that like, Ugh, I don't really want to. So what, you don't want to right now. Will you have wanted to in fifteen minutes? Yes. speaker-0: ⁓ okay. This is like where this is like afternoon leading into the evening. Could go multiple ways here. So this is where I'm gonna wrap it up. So you had your shower, again, chill, take your time, throw in something like comfy, like a night like a light pair of sweatpants, not too thick, but like flowy, they feel good on your legs. Remember you just shaved yesterday. So like they like have a nice flow to them. ⁓ maybe a robe or like a just like something like relaxed, a relaxed fit that's comfortable. And then either you're A ⁓ getting ready to like go out to dinner maybe or meet some friends somewhere. So like you can do your makeup, pick out an outfit, like I don't know, something easy, like a nice dress or something you kind of already have in mind that you're excited to wear. It's not like ⁓ shoot, what am I gonna wear to this? It's like you're kind of excited to you have it already in your head what you're gonna wear. It's not it's not a process getting dressed. Like maybe you have like options and like like two or three options, you try them on, you know, one of them is good. Yeah. But it's fun to try on the other two, you it's not you're you're not overwhelmed. speaker-1: 'Cause you already have something you love. You're playing with your options. speaker-0: Exactly. You're playing with your options. And you're like, what mood am I in? Do I wanna go kind of fun, frisky, risk it a little bit? Or do I wanna like know it I feel good and and wear that? So that's the vibe. So you either, yeah, maybe it's like dinner plans where you're going out, you're meeting friends, you're going out with, you know, like a date night, whatever. Or you pour yourself a glass of wine and you're cooking at home. speaker-1: Obsessed with speaker-0: But same thing. You already know what you're cooking. Ingredients are already there. Everything is is there. You don't have to go to the store. Again, Friday comes into play here. You have to be intense. speaker-1: Set yourself up for success. speaker-0: Yeah, set yourself up for six for success. So whether you're going out, it's like fun, get ready, make up, good music, maybe a glass of wine, or you're cooking, you can stay in your chill, comfy outfit and then you head to the kitchen. You put your music on, again, maybe like a glass of wine or like seltzer, like something like a nice fun take a drink but like spice it up a little bit, put it in a cute glass. You're having fun, dancing around the kitchen a little bit. So either way, either you're going out or you're cooking. But ⁓ like you know what you're cooking. It's not it's not a stressful thing. You can take your time with it. Ideally, whether you're in or going out, it's a somewhat early dinner, like five ish, five thirty-ish. This way, you're either getting home early or you can like clean up early and then you're ending the night with a cozy movie. A cozy movie. speaker-1: Ooh. speaker-0: Popcorn and then up to bed. And like you had the best day. You're tired. Your body feels tired from the activity you got in the morning. Your mind was stimulated from good conversation with friends or with your partner or whatever. And like you were very pr like you did good things for yourself. ⁓ So again, early night or early dinner and then like a nice movie night. speaker-1: What a day, Liz. You've had yourself quite the day. okay. So for me, I've come home from the beach, I'm showered, the sand is gone. ⁓ and I'm I read for about I read for a little bit, right? I'm relaxed, I'm into my we I might even have a little midday glass of wine, okay? We're having a little wine, we're reading, we're having a little like it's almost like a siesta in between the middle of our perfect day. Okay. And now now we're gonna have friends over for dinner. For me, this is very like I think I prefer this more than going out. It depends on the day. But like I just really it gives me anxiety to host. ⁓ but in like the best possible way because I feel like I'm like learning how to create the environment that I loved as a kid, which like I loved when my like we had family over for like a birthday, baptismal day or something, when I was like fifteen and going on, twenty three. I have I like loved having it would be like my aunt and uncles and like the cousins that I saw all the time, like you, like someone, anyone. And but we would just like my mom would make these dinners. It our house was tiny, but everyone would just crowd into the table. We would they would we would drink wine if I was old enough to drink wine or whatever. And like it was just such a like community vibe. Like there was no like it didn't even need there was no event happening other than like someone's birthday, right? But like Everyone showed up and just created this atmosphere of like we are together, we are being, you know, we're creating this this beautiful community environment. So anyway, that's my dream. And so my dream is that on this perfect day, this is like recently we had people over for Easter and I felt like we were getting there, but I didn't I still have tweaks I wanna make. So on my perfect day, I'm like, okay, I've have this setup I know works really well for having people over. I have enough places. I have an indoor and outdoor spaces for us to sit. Everyone has a place to sit so everyone's comfortable. So then, okay, so Connor starts making dinner, prepping food, because Connor will Connor does that super well. ⁓ he'll be doing that. I start to set up. I'm setting a nice table. I have my outfits. I start to put on a little makeup, music's going. There's a perfect playlist happening. There's a vibe, probably a little bit of like. I hate to say it, but I love to say it. Michael Bublet. That for me in cooking is again goes back to just me growing up. It's nostalgia. I mean, I'm I say Michael Bublé, also Frank Sinatra, obviously the the OGs. I'm playing crooners. The crooners are here. I'm drinking some wine. I have like a dresser's skirt on, something cute. I put some eyeliner on, always with a lip. speaker-0: That's the nostalgia of it too. speaker-1: The house is already clean. I've cleaned. I've been out of the house the whole day. I haven't messed anything up. ⁓ so the house is clean and now I'm just like setting things up. ⁓ Connor starts to cook. The vibes are great. And then so I'm inviting, I'd say, two couples over. So a total of six people, not too crazy, but like people who know the vibe, people who are gonna add to the vibe. We're just gonna have a great night. We we're cooking for them, but they're gonna bring some wine. They might even bring some games. So after dinner, we're sitting at the card table, we start to play some games, we're hanging out, ⁓ maybe outside and we're just we just have a great time playing some games. speaker-0: Lovely. And like as the sun goes down. Turns into night. So fun. speaker-1: Yeah. You know? ⁓ It's so fun. Or just like or even maybe it's not case, maybe it's just good conversation. Yeah. And like but no one's in a rush to leave. Everyone has their drink of choice. You know? It's just speaker-0: And like it's like that you spent enough time together that like everyone's like comfortable at that point. Yeah. It's not that you're not comfortable together, but it's like you're like you achieved the level together of like speaker-1: ⁓ It doesn't take a lot of effort. There's no effort really. speaker-0: Did the dinner, you d you hosted, you did the conversation, and now ⁓ everyone's like relaxed together. speaker-1: It's just a pleasure to be together, to spend our time this way. Everyone's happy. speaker-0: And then your third shower. speaker-1: And then my third shower. ⁓ I'm sure yeah. It's key. It's key, you know? Yeah. Keep the clean. And also I will say, my perfect day, at the end of it, when I'm cleaning up, the AirPods are going in, something stupid's going on my phone, a show, a podcast, anything. And I'm just gonna disassociate. For a little bit. I get some I get some me time at the end of the day with AirPods in. And that is like very speci like I really need that to happen at the end of the day. I I like sleep with headphones and it's like it's probably bad. Yeah. speaker-0: No, I speaker-1: Most nights most nights there's one AirPod and at least I wake up always on top of an AirPod. speaker-0: Where are your ears? They're fun. That would like bother me so much. I could see the I can see the appeal to it because I do like falling asleep to something. Like I'll put something on a sleep timer, like a book or podcast or something. But it just it would bug me so bad. Like I can't even sleep with earrings in. speaker-1: don't know why I'm okay with it because most stuff does bother me. You know what happened is that like I got addicted to AirPods because I just cannot I can't if I because I try. I try to put my I put my phone on a sleep timer always, so it always turns off. I just like fall asleep with them in there and then they fall out and I roll on top of them. But ⁓ Yeah, never have an issue. That's great. I know. But I really get frustrated if I can't like I find myself speaker-0: Find them, you have no issue. speaker-1: ⁓ staying awake because I'm struggling to hear what's being said, even though I don't I don't care what's being said. I put on like I've listened to Jane Austen books like to fall asleep all the time. I've listened to them over and over and over again. So it doesn't matter that I can't hear them, but something in my brain is like, you can't hear, so it like keeps me awake. So here I am with the AirPods. speaker-0: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I want I'm like this with Sunday night right now. I know. speaker-1: I want this right now. Come over. speaker-0: I know. Like that walk that you were talking about, I want that. The view like a little bit on the beach with a beer and a sandwich, come on. I mean I want that. Yeah. It's okay. Let's go, everyone, have your perfect day. speaker-1: Mm. Yes. It's important everyone to have a perfect I mean this might have been our first perfect episode. I g feel like there's nothing to cut from this. Pew Pim PM. Alright, that's I'll cut that, but speaker-0: Yes. ⁓ actually let's do a a sign off. speaker-1: Okay. speaker-0: Thanks everyone for listening. Make sure to give us a five-star review. and tune back in next week for catching up with Liz and Emmy. speaker-1: And that's been another perfect episode. ⁓
