speaker-0: A dirty chai is a is a chai latte. Do you know what chai is? Okay. Dirty chai is putting espresso in it. speaker-1: Yes. ⁓ And the flavors are nice? speaker-0: ⁓ yeah. Okay. Obviously. Yeah, no, the flavor is speaker-1: to guess what a dirting chai was, that's what I would guess, but no one had to clarify. You know that chai just means tea, so if you say chai tea, it just means tea. speaker-0: Here too, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. speaker-1: Okay, Zach, we know. speaker-0: Exact. Everyone knows that. But guess what? Sometimes it just feels nice to say chai tea. speaker-1: Everyone knows. Well, welcome back everybody to catching up with Liz and Evi. We hope you had a fabulous week. speaker-0: Welcome back or episode probably like fourteen. I don't even know. speaker-1: Yeah, I don't know either. You would know more than me. I have done nothing except really show up. I've done very minimal at least the that's part interval. Yeah, but I'm gonna give you credit for where credit is. You've done a lot. Yes. speaker-0: That's nice. ⁓ it is a n it is a labor of love, 100%. I am enjoying so much our vibe. I think we we're really we're hitting a stride, Miss Liz. speaker-1: I think so too. I think so too. It's it's getting more and more fun. speaker-0: It's super exciting to feel like episodes are getting better, like we're getting better at this. And that's cool. Because I'm not really sure what it takes to get better at this. I couldn't tell you why it's better. It just I don't know. It's cool that way. speaker-1: I agree. It's interesting to me because we don't see each other often, obviously. And growing up we did see each other often. So like in our adult lives the last couple of years, we haven't had as many in person touch points. So now meeting at least once a week, if not more, and just like texting throughout the day, I feel like we're like getting more and more of those touch points, albeit virtually. But still, I'm like, ⁓ yeah, like we're getting our like groove in. And like this is how, yes, this is our vibe. This is our speaker-0: It's like our literal group back. Like we're rekindling our our relationship. And it's very nice. It's like 'cause obviously, like obviously we love each other forever and ever ever more, no matter how many touch points we have in our lives. But you know what it is? Like you can like you can second guess what what being funny with people is like and like like it's like speaker-1: Askly, exactly. It's very nice. Special thing. speaker-0: Do you remember that I didn't mean that, that that was a joke? Or like, do you remember that like this is like this is my sarcasm and I'd like you to jump on board with it? And like it's just fun to get that back where you're like, No, no, no, I know exactly what you're doing in this moment and I miss tone and this it's just fun. It's just fun. speaker-1: Agree. We definitely read each other well and vibe off of each other well. Yeah. speaker-0: Exactly. And I don't think it took long to get back in the swing of that. Yeah, yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Not to compliment ourselves too much. speaker-0: But I think we're fucking rad. Yeah. Okay. My week was a marathon. It was it was a great week. You know, it's funny. I woke up this morning and I expected to be like extremely low energy. I expected to be in bed until like right now. And ⁓ I woke up just kind of like excited for the day and excited because it's the first day in a while. It's been my own time. I can do whatever I want with. And that made me really excited. speaker-1: Yes. Well how was your week? speaker-0: ⁓ and so what I did was watch TikToks for an hour. But speaker-1: Because you could and you chose to. speaker-0: Right, in my air-conditioned room, snuggled in all my blankets. And you know what TikTok did for me? It gave me the playlist of my morning. I don't know what was going on on TikTok, but I get so into the music on TikTok. Whatever people are vibing to on there, it just makes me want to like hit the playlist immediately. So we were listening to You Could Have Whatever You Like by T.I. on the way to get coffee. We hit a little Alicia keys while waiting for coffee. I was singing my heart out. in this parking lot of this coffee shop just putting on a performance for everybody. Amazing. And Burn by Usher came on. I took that off and replaced it with what did I replace it with? ⁓ beautiful by Akon. We had an Akon morning. ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ so good. It was so good. So the vibes are the vibes right now are exquisite. But let me tell you about my week real quick. So I had to work all week, obviously, but it was like a shorter week due to the fourth of July and people on vacation and things. So like I kind of needed to front load the week a little bit. So I was doing a bunch of work. But on Tuesday evening, my friend Mysko's mom was in town and I've never met her before. She lives in Slovakia. So we went and did a salsa dancing class on like a cli like a cliff overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico. 'Cause that's where this guy wanted to do this also lesson because he doesn't live by the beach and he wanted to see the beach. I was like, Aww, okay. So Connor and I went up there and did a little dance class with her mom, her sister, ⁓ and Mishka and her now fiance. No. They got engaged. They got engaged last night. speaker-1: ⁓ my gosh, congrats to them. That's so exciting. speaker-0: No, it's so exciting. And while they while we were doing this dancing lesson, I knew it was coming. Paula was like sending me looks and I was like, This is just it was so sweet to like meet her mom. And her mom is like literally I I like I miss my mom so much because she's so much like a mom. Like we just got along so well. I feel so happy to have met her because like I love Mishka so much. I know like I just wanted her mom to love me. And we just got along so well. She had she told me I I am like one of her cousins. I was like amazing. She's like, you remind me of my cousin Susan. And then I got to shout out Susan. Shout out Susan. So Tuesday I saw Mishka. And then Wednesday I had something. ⁓ Wednesday I got a three hour massage that like changed my life. It was so long. speaker-1: Yeah. Three hours. speaker-0: And I did get like I really was wondering what I would be doing for that amount of time. Right. And I really I did like meditate. Like I went somewhere in my head. And it was a very like spiritual massage. There was like sound baths and aromatherapy and like a meditation. Anyway, it was wonderful. speaker-1: It was, I'm assuming, full body. speaker-0: It was full body. It was almost like and like it was she's a friend of mine, but she's an extremely talented masseuse and she's like gifted for sure at this. She's a insanely ⁓ like well studied, like she like really continues education on this and like it's like her whole life essentially. Anyway, so she like asks what you you know, she asks about the history and what's going on with your body, blah blah blah blah. So and I realized I really do have like so much tension in my arms. For whatever reason, my hands and my arms are like the worst parts of my body. speaker-1: You do have really like wrist problems, which speaker-0: I really do have wrist problems. Yeah. And she confirmed that and that was nice. But anyway. So like and she like went in on like my forearms and like ⁓ it was awful. But she kind of spent like half an hour. She probably spent like an almost an hour on like every part of my body. Wow. Like it it felt like real like twenty minutes on the heart on everything like to start and then like did it all like on on laying flat and then flipped over and did it all be again. You know what I mean? So it was like just like full body like twice at least. ⁓ and like all in the hair too. Like she brushed my hair at one point, Elizabeth. And I and I it was it was insane. And it it was just like one of an experience where just when you're kind of like I'm always trying to guess what's happening next, right? And she would always do what you wanted to happen next. Like at one point she'd put hot towels on my feet. Wow. And I was like, That's so nice. And then she took it away at one point and I was like, wait. And then and then she reapplied them and she put them right back on. And I was like, ⁓ my God, that's what I wanted you to do. speaker-1: She probably reads people's energy so speaker-0: No, she really does. She's ⁓ well. And like we're in a book club together. Her name I won't I gotta stop saying people's names. and I've heard her like talk like people ask questions about this, and I've heard her perspective on the different things she does and the choices she makes a couple of times throughout the years. And like she's just so convicted in what she does that like is one of the reasons I went and got the massage, because I like, if anyone can do this energy kind of healing thing, I would believe it to be you. ⁓ and I like, she really knows what she's doing. She's like, there's a lot of energy trapped in your in your arms and your hands. And I was like, that is kind of what it feels like. There's a lot of energy trapped in there. Like there's so much like weird tension in my wrists. And she was like, yeah, like, you know, you really need to start to take care of that. And I'm like, okay, tell me. speaker-1: How do you r how do you release energy from your like obviously the massage, but like do you have to write more? Is that what it means? Be more creative. speaker-0: She said to do she said to like use the shit out of the sonic cold plunge that I have access to. She was like, that's really gonna help like release tension and things like that. But it's a good question. Some energy healing work. I don't know. Like she asked in the beginning too, she's like, what do you want the goal of this to be? Like what's what's the intention that you want to enter into this with? And I was you know, I had a few ideas like mindfulness or just like trying to speaker-1: I wanna get this massage. speaker-0: at once be present but also like a little bit detached from where I'm at during this massage. I don't know. I don't really know what that meant, but I was like, those are good words. And ⁓ what ended up happening was that like I just kept thinking of everyone I wanted to experience what I was experiencing. And like I just kept seeing everyone I loved, which is very dramatic. But like I just like kept seeing the faces of the people I love and like wanting healing for them, which is I don't know. That's what I that's what was happening. And then at some points I was like, because you know, I was really I very much was trying to like go with the flow of whatever she was doing so that for the best chance of getting whatever energy was in my arms out. You know what mean? So I was really trying to just like go. So at one point I really felt like a flower who was just like I was like seeing myself as these things. At one point I was like a fish. You know and like a fish like gets scared and it like goes away really quickly. Mm-hmm. That's what I was doing when she was working on my arms. I was like this little like fish that anyway, it was trippy. It was really trippy. speaker-1: I love that. It you're painting the picture really well though, honestly. speaker-0: Good. ⁓ good. And then and at one point, you know, I went from laying with my face in the in the face hole to turning over on my back and I was like, it was insanely bright. Right coming out of that. And she was like, Don't worry. And she put an eye mask, a weighted eye mask over my eyes. Yeah. Of course you already know that I need that. It's just beautiful. Anyway. I you know what? I did a few tears leaked out. Mostly. speaker-1: You cry, I feel like I would have cried. Yeah. speaker-0: Mostly from the pain of my arms. But ⁓ it is. I remember Emily Emily once giving me a hand massage and 'cause she's a hand therapist and and she was like, F, what's going on with your hands? I just I should probably I should probably do something about it. It is a little interesting. It's probably just where my tension ends up, you know. speaker-1: Yeah, fair. No I Yeah, yeah, mine's definitely like in my shoulders, but I think most women are there. speaker-0: She I think I think it's the result of that. It's just like traveled farther down. And I think like Annie, she was like, I think it's in your neck, and I think your neck is I think that's where it is. And there was like this intense I went and saw the chiropractor the next day, 'cause hello. And ⁓ he like instead of he couldn't crack my neck and instead he like put a finger on this like insane knot and just like pushed it all the way down my neck. It was so painful. Yeah, I bet. I don't even know. Anyway, that was Wednesday and then the rest we got socializing. Thursday night I went out with Mishka and her mom again. Paulo was like sweating bullets in a taco shop like Evelyn. Evy, I gotta propose. I just gotta do it. Like I can't even sleep anymore. ⁓ and then Friday we went an hour and a half. I woke up at four thirty in the morning. I slept like two hours on Thursday night. speaker-1: Mm-hmm. speaker-0: Woke up at like four thirty in the morning, went down to this beach I'd never been to before, had a beautiful morning, did shrooms again. I gotta stop doing shrooms. And then had had a like an amazing morning, like an amazing like eight AM to twelve PM because Connor went scuba diving and the significant others who's were going scuba diving who didn't go scuba diving, we all went to this beach and we all did a little shrooms. And it was super fun, had a great time, but then we met back up with the scuba divers and our energies were so different. I was like, I need to like go home and like be alone, like please God. ⁓ but it was super fun. But that was exhausting and Connor was exhausted. And then the next morning we'd a wake up and we had to get up and go. We like woke up all of these car rides with Connor and me yesterday were like silence. There was no music. There was nothing. We're just like holding hands in silence as we moved through the world. Just like zero energy but needing to show up. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: And like we showed up we woke up at like seven, packed the car, out the door by like eight thirty, drove up to the Beach Roy Myshka's house. Normally we go way later, but it was July fourth. Everything was fucking packed. Everything. Which July fourth isn't a Christmas year. It's just water And so we got there early. We got like the spot set up. We brought a grill. We brought a propane tank. We got we were set up and then as soon as we all got there and speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Pawa's friend showed up as well. Paolo like pulled her aside and like proposed to her and the beach and like everyone on the beach clapped. It was like a such a sweet moment. I was so happy to be there. And then we we had a really nice beach day. We grilled, we hung out, we we we we just hung out, it was great. And ⁓ but we were there for like six hours probably. And Connor at one point looks to me and he's like, If we can go, I need to go. speaker-1: If the opportunity arises, we're speaker-0: And I was like, All right, let's start packing it up 'cause we gotta pack up this grill. We gotta pack up this table, we gotta pack up yeah, yeah. Gotta hike these things up to the car. All this stuff. And then 'cause we had an engagement dinner last night for them as well. We chilled out for a second. We went to dinner and like the dinner was lovely, but it was like three hours long because these waiters could not would not bring us our food. They were just like it took half an hour to get drinks, which is crazy. So anyway, and then I fell asleep and I was like, I'm never gonna wake up again. Like I'm just gonna wake up and like Have no energy, but I'm alive and I survived and speaker-1: It's because they're all super fulfilling things. You might crash later, but speaker-0: Yeah, I think so. Yeah, but also just being knowing I have no responsibilities today with other people is a dream. So speaker-1: Do whatever you want. Hang in the backyard with your cows. speaker-0: Exact dude, they're here. Anyway, that was my week. How was your week, Liz? speaker-1: It was nice. Definitely not as hectic as yours. but it was nice. We went to our friend's parents' house on Friday. Their birthday was shoot. I it was either July first or second. Anyway, but we went down on the third to swim and celebrate the birthday, and it was cute. Rio just loves the water and it's very sweet. Like I'd be like holding him. He doesn't like to sit in a floaty. We brought one. He doesn't want to sit in a floaty. He like wants to be held and be able to move and splash. Because the floaty we had, it like I don't know, he's like a little bit restricted. ⁓ so then I'll be like holding him and I just feel him like almost like he's trying to crawl, like kick and like almost like doggy pad with his arms. And he's like literally trying to like swim to get it was like an orange pool noodle, or like swim to like the side. But he just like starts moving, like he's like literally trying to swim. It was so funny. So it's gonna sweep I hope so. It's really sweet that he loves the water. And then we ⁓ I also went to a thrift store with my sister Celine, she's a big thrifter. Got Andrew some really cool shirts that like fit him nicely that are just good like button downs, casual but can be dressed up. ⁓ so definitely a really good find there. And he's hard to shop for. speaker-0: So early. speaker-1: Especially with shirts. Just like I don't know, like like the whatever. He can be hard to shop for. So got two shirts that fit him well, which I was like perfect. So that's a win. And then got myself a couple things which are cute. Also, it's just fun to go thrifting. ⁓ my gosh. Celine got we're like leaving. And she goes, ⁓ my god, these lamps. Literally two very clean, perfect Ralph Loren lamps, twenty five dollars each. speaker-0: ⁓ speaker-1: I know. What a side. And I'm like, you are more eclectic than I am. Like they'll they won't really I don't think they'd really fit in my house. But anyway, I was like, they're all yours. Obvious. So that was a really good find. speaker-0: Yes. What town was this in? speaker-1: Morristown. Yeah, of course. They're all florin. ⁓ and then ⁓ we had a barbecue at my parents yesterday. My dad got a smoker for Fourth of July, so he smoked some meat for the first time, some ribs, some brisket. ⁓ so that was really nice and tasty. And yeah, it was just a chill, nice week and a good weekend. speaker-0: Who's been re speaker-1: Really hot, huge heat wave. ⁓ my gosh, we had these crazy storms in New Jersey. Tell me about it. Like crazy storm. And then another another one last night, like so July third and July fourth. We were driving home from our friend's house and literally eighty ⁓ mile per hour winds. We were ten minutes from home and it just like and you can see the cloud we're driving into. As you're driving into it, you like can feel the car moving. We don't have like a small car but you can like definitely feel it moving. Everything like debris flying over leaves, sticks, and then so many downed trees. Crazy. I hate scary. I know, I know. That's the scary part. And we have a lot of trees around ⁓ our house. So we saw some that like fell in the river like further up. But luckily no trees in our yard. speaker-0: That's crazy. The downing trees. Mm-hmm. speaker-1: We do have a big dead tree where I'm like, You can fall and that would be fine. ⁓ And I'm surprised it hasn't. But anyway. Kind of power and it was so hot, so I feel bad for them. speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah, one of them being our friend. speaker-1: Yes. Yeah, I know. Although they're down the shore, so at least they have power down the shore. But still, yeah, my food and everything. Like some of my siblings don't have it. They weren't supposed to get it till July eighth, is like what's predicted. I was just in speaker-0: Damn. Yeah. Try for those swift winds. Those swift speaker-1: Swift wins and then Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey got married. I still can't believe this. They got married at Madison Square Garden. Like I just Adam Sandler officiated their wedding. I'm like, what virtual reality are we living in? Like I just can't believe it. We're not Swifties. Right. We're maybe a little bit. I know. He's speaker-0: I can't co-sign that at all. I hate to bring her up. Like the tackiest thing I've ever heard of in my entire life. speaker-1: And like I wanna believe that they made it so nice and beautiful and of course they did, but like you're not gonna get married in Europe. at your wedding, you don't even get married at your house in Rhode Island. It's just shocking. I'm so surprised by it. It's not at all what I yeah would have predicted. But I mean like if you're happy and this is what you want to do and you can do it obviously. Sure. Go for it. But I yeah, I want to know the reason. And if you really you just wanted to invite everyone and that it just made the most sense. Okay. Got it. speaker-0: If you wanted a spectacle, I guess, this is what you would do. If you this is the thing. Unless someone made her do this, this just completely confirms why I don't like Taylor Swift. Because I really think she just really likes spectacle, the drama and wants to the attention. Which is whatever. speaker-1: Take but i I I ⁓ speaker-0: You make everyone say NDAs. You have your wedding in literally like this is the most corporate ceremony I can think about. Like everyone's in what? Like in in the stands watching this? speaker-1: I know. I'm like do what is the point of this? Your your ticket, your seating ticket? Do you have your own like I'm just speaker-0: Baffling. Were you on stage? Like, how many performances do you need to have? Like this is just crazy to me. And also like, it's not like anyone can see. Like the spectacle is how little people can see. So speaker-1: Well, I'm sure there was a screen. Can you imagine it? speaker-0: No, yeah, I just mean like people are if people are like outside, they can't see shit. So it's not like she's putting herself on like the camera in Times Square. It's like it's like creating exclusivity for exclusivity's sake. Like I I don't understand it. Like why would you want this gray box? Like I don't speaker-1: There's no like it's not like they were hiding it. Like people knew it was happening on Friday at Madison Square Garden. And then right afterward they had like the signs like Justin T married. speaker-0: No, yeah, and what was that? That's the stupidest thing. Literally Amy sent that to me and I was like, Yeah, that's a really bad ATT commercial. What do you mean? I didn't even I didn't even know it was for Taylor Swift. I literally I was like, just T and T married. I'm like, that's like a really weird ATT commercial. That's what I thought. Because that's the stupidest. I was like, who the fuck okayed that? What they should have done is like just married with two T's at the end. speaker-1: But he speaker-0: Just T and T. Connor was like, Well, I guess it's their names, Justin and Taylor. I was like, his name is Travis. His name is not Justin. Like it makes no sense. It makes the least amount of sense I've ever seen. Justin T It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life. speaker-1: His name's Travis. N T Also make it look a little nicer. Like the speaker-0: It looks like an A T and T commercial. speaker-1: Black and white, like yeah, I I that is hilarious. But so true. It looks like an ATT commercial. Saw it with the caption, so I didn't think otherwise, but I was confused reading it. And I like in my head convinced myself his name was Justin for a second, but I know it's not. And your brain is working so hard to make it make sense. speaker-0: I Exactly. speaker-1: Interesting. They did have a crazy storm after like the c lot of cool lightning strikes. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, I think I saw was it a rainbow and a lightning streak? is that a guy? speaker-1: There was a rainbow, a real rainbow after. ⁓ speaker-0: But again, I hate to have an opinion on Taylor Swift, but I just like it it is shocking because you don't prefer something beautiful. This is very confusing. Like 'cause part of her image is this like lover girl fairy tale thing, right? Like, right? Am I wrong? Like But then another part of her is her like speaker-1: Yeah, it's so You're right, you're absolutely right. social. She has friends with every like so many ⁓ speaker-0: ⁓ That's the other thing. I'm like I didn't think of her as someone who was really like in celebrity friendships. Other than like speaker-1: No, she definitely has a lot of celebrity friendships. and she does have big Fourth of July parties like in Rhode Island. So she does like Fourth of July. And it has to be in the summer because ⁓ training for the NFL for Travis. speaker-0: Okay. speaker-1: Reasons it makes sense. ⁓ I guess it's easy for people to travel to New York City and places to stay, but at the same time people could have traveled anywhere. It's just like and I understand they I'm sure like a big wedding makes sense. Like you have you have a five hundred person guest list and then everyone gets a plus one, that's a thousand people. Okay. All right, sure. And that's many people. speaker-0: Sure. speaker-1: Like I'm like, okay, the pieces sure it makes sense. It's just like how it all came together. I'm like, wow, that is not what you would picture at all. Cause again, she does have that fairy tale. speaker-0: But like why would you not I mean whatever. She made the choices she made and that's fine. People should do that. I guess this is what she wanted. If it wasn't what she wanted, then whatever. But I would just it it is shocking because I would sooner believe that she like created a county fair scenario for the thousand people, put them all up, bought out of town, put them all up in a hotels and B's, and like created a magical speaker-1: Once you've done it, yeah. speaker-0: outdoor wedding scenario with tents and shit. I I would much sooner believe that than this. This is crazy. This is some billionaire boring ass shit. This is boring. It's boring. And it's like just so corporate. Like I just can't get over that. speaker-1: Yeah, it's boring. Boring and corporate. That's de more corporate than boring because it's like ⁓ how did MSG look? I'm very curious how it was transformed. Like, was it magical or was it like dark and lights in there like we're used to? Right. Also, like your wedding venue is Madison Square Garden. Any like game event you go to there, it's like, ⁓ yeah, remember when we got married here? But it's never gonna look like that again unless you pay for it to look like that again. Is that is yeah. speaker-0: Yeah. Sure. I mean, ⁓ speaker-1: So interesting. speaker-0: I feel like there's a lot of slander toward type B people. ⁓ and I feel that because I am a type B person. However, some of it is valid because I came home the other day and I had worked like seven hours or something and I was tired, but I hadn't eaten in a in a bit, and I was making food, and I just like noticed, I was like, My I have two type pairs of glasses and they feel very different on my face. And I was like, I reached up to touch my glasses and I was like, whoa, whoa. I'm wearing I'm wearing the glasses that I don't normally wear. Like I definitely wore my brown glasses to work. Like, what's when did I put on my green glasses? And it like really freaked me out. I was like, I don't remember switching glasses. And I was like, and I went to the bathroom to go find my other glasses and they weren't there. And I was like, I don't know what's going on. And then like I just like had zero memory of switching glasses and then later on I found the brown glasses like next to the toilet paper that I must have like just like taken off while using the bathroom because they like fall off my face more likely and then I put on the green glasses 'cause I forgot where it fucking put my brown glasses. And that's just part of living my life. ⁓ But I'm like, what would a type A person even do with that? I don't I think like I don't speaker-1: Part of being type A. speaker-0: I don't know if that could happen to them, if they understand this experience. But I am just like s so forgetful. I did a huge deep cleaning of my house last weekend and it was fantastic. However, it would like took all of my energy to focus on one task at a time. I did I do like four four cleaning tasks at a time and it takes double the time to get it done and it's just a hard knock life. ⁓ Yes. But people this is my thing. I think the type A's feel like it's a choice. Like you're choosing poor systems. You've set up your life poorly. That's why you have chaos. But it's not really chaos. They just see it as chaos. And I'm here to say it's not a choice. This is how my brain works. It's a struggle bus. What's your take? What's your take type A's and type B's, Liz? speaker-1: Yeah, I think type A's have a specific spot where they put their glasses and they only and always put their glasses in that specific spot. speaker-0: So I have two pairs of glasses. One of them always stays in a specific spot and one of them travels the world with me. speaker-1: I but like there you go. I think that mostly works. I do type B's get a bad rap? I don't know. Naturally, like type A, type B were the second letter. It's like second best. Exactly. So like maybe. But there's so many positives to being type B too. I think things are generally more relaxed, including like in your head, you don't tend to need things to be done a certain way 'cause you can be a little bit more flexible with how things are done. speaker-0: Agree. speaker-1: You can let go of certain things. But the downside is yeah, forgetfulness or placing things where you're like losing things more easily. But here's my thing. I don't think anyone is fully well, some people might be fully type A, some people fully type B, but like many things in life, I think it's a spectrum. And like when it comes to different aspects of life, I'm a little bit more type A and a little bit more type B. speaker-0: Yeah, I think I've like ⁓ yes, I think it's dumb to like pigeonhole yourself. Like I like I just did. But when I was younger, I definitely was like this like I wouldn't say I don't know. I think like it's good to accept the way you do things sometimes and also leave the door open for a little bit of wiggle room to change. So it's like putting up these different they're gonna look different, the structures that you put in in your life for yourself to make yourself productive. And like I have little hacks all over the place. I'm not allowed to use my phone, but my phone needs to be playing a podcast. You know what I mean? Like it needs my phone needs to be busy so I can be busy. Mm-hmm. ⁓ And things like that. speaker-1: Audible books are great or podcasts great to work to, like physical work to to get things done. Like even a YouTube video while you're doing the dishes or something like that is very, very helpful. I agree. But good audible book, you want to keep going. speaker-0: And never Exactly. One of the hacks I think too, if you can get fixated on a task as a type B person, that task is gonna get done. No matter the time, no matter what else is going on in my life. I like if I'm like, Okay, today is the day everything that I want thrown out of my house is getting thrown out of my house, I won't sleep until it's done. I like that how I like that part of my speaker-1: function like and yeah sure it gets done all at once rather than maybe being done like in segments throughout the week but it gets done it's just a different way. Yeah. I find myself I'm definitely more type B but like for instance moving into a new home granted we moved a year ago but it's tough because so many places when we as we were moving were unfinished. So I was like speaker-0: It's just a different way. speaker-1: We were living in chaos for months. So it was so hard to stay organized. And then once we got like, okay, we got this furniture piece where we organized the cabinets and we organized the things in that furniture piece. Okay, like these go here. Once it's done and organized in my head, I'm like, okay, now it's permanent. I'm a little bit more type A about putting things back because I spent the time organizing it. So for example, like one of the cabinets behind me, I have all our glasses in. The glasses go in a very specific order. And they're always going in that order when they're clean. The that like has not been messed up since. But then there are other things where they're a little bit unfinished. We're not sure what to do with. So I'm like, okay, I can just put this here for now and then until it has a permanent place. A con is that you're sometimes holding all of those things in your head. And that speaker-0: Mm-hmm. speaker-1: is a lot. It's like multiple tabs open. You're just holding holding space for every like item. But speaker-0: I like that. Multiple tabs open. I would yeah, that is the way that it my brain is for sure. Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah. But like my clothes, we have less closet space than we did in our apartment in this house. So having to reorganize where all our clothes go, even our coats. Like we don't we got rid of the coat closet to open up more space in the downstairs. So we got like a storage, like a build up storage rack that we keep in the basement for all our coats. But even like under the bed storage, shoe storage, all that stuff. Now that they have a spot, everything is in that spot and goes there, but until it had a spot it was definitely a bit chaotic. speaker-0: Yeah. And we need this we need the organization, like obviously. I'm not I'm not a I need organization. And the more I give myself organization, the better my brain feels, the better my space feels. It's just getting there that always looks a little different or it's just a little bit more speaker-1: Something that I think is not so straightforward. Something that I think is being a a really big pro for type P people is ⁓ like a weekend with no plans or maybe like one or two plans. Like you it's very freeing because you can do things as you feel like they should be done. And it can be a con, sure, if you're feeling lazy or procrastinating, but for the most part I think it's a pro. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: ⁓ speaker-0: To have like activ some activities but some free time, is what you mean? speaker-1: One hundred percent. Yeah. And to not be locked into specific times. Like even with Rio's naps, he does decently well on a schedule, but we have more like routines set in place for his naps rather than a strict schedule. Like he naps around the same times each day. Yeah. ⁓ but like he knows when we go in, we put like the fan on, sound machine, pacifier in and like give him a little hug, rock him a little bit, and put him down. Like that's his like he knows it's it's time to sleep. And it works pretty well every time, even if we're kind of off with the schedule. ⁓ Yeah. So it's definitely gross. speaker-0: No, I like what you said about spectrums. I feel like we're all somewhere in that spectrum. Obviously, I'm not a type B person. You're not a type like that doesn't really exist. But we all have certain tendencies and and regular roadblocks or whatever. But I like some people are so to the extreme on that spectrum. Various decides. And those who are a little bit more chaotic just like haven't tried to become more organized or try to put some systems in place that that help fight that chaos a little bit, I think. And ⁓ which isn't, you know, you gotta you gotta organize your life. You also have to hate to say it. speaker-1: Train your brain. Your brain likes short circuits and and you literally are your habits. So when you train your brain to like do things a certain way, you don't you think less about it. And that is literally how your brain works at short circuits. So you don't need to think about it. So you're requiring less brain energy. So you're saving energy throughout the day when you have good systems and habits in place. speaker-0: You know what's something I'm like noticing about myself? I could generalize, but I'm just I'm gonna say about myself, is that like like it's actually embarrassing how quickly my mental state deteriorates when my routine is taken away. Like and I've said I think I was a little bit ignorant to the fact that I have such strict routines. That I didn't know I really gave myself. Like even like this week, for instance, my routines were completely shaken up because on Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to point fighting. On Monday and Wednesdays, I have free time in the evening to do what I want. Fridays are like normally either I socialize or me and Connor hang out. And then like weekends, I try to do something so that I'm not always just at home because then I do go a little crazy. And ⁓ you know, that's really my routine. I work two jobs. And I work around that and that's my routine. And it got so shaken up where to the point where I was like so anxious for like multiple times, but then also so freed by it in a way. Because you had just let go. You gotta let go at one. You gotta let go. And that and that's really nice. It really gave me like a new experience, which really breathed life into me. I that's why I feel kind of like awake today. I'm like, life is for living. We we're doing things, we're out here doing things, you know what I mean? Like it's good, it's good. But it is crazy. And I think something that more structured, more like organized type A ish people do well, maybe with that structure, is that if your routines change, they can easily like be like, okay, but you know what's not changed? This five things. Cause I'm very okay, give me information. And now I have this information, I feel routine again. Like they can kind of create a new safe space very quickly, I think. That's why they ask for so much information. That's why they're like plan, plan, plan. ⁓ we're doing this. Okay. That week is already planned. Therefore, I know my routine will be disrupted. Therefore, I know I want this and this and this to be comfortable. You know what I mean? Like, I think that's where they thrive too. I I see what their like, ⁓ I don't know what the word I'm looking for is other than structure. I've said it so many times. But like their way of doing things, their way of getting to that. speaker-1: Yeah. you have set expectations in your head of what's going to happen next and when. And I think that is really what a type A person needs. Whereas me for type B, it's helpful to know, but I don't need to know what's happening and when. Like I like to know that things are happening and maybe a general idea of when, but it doesn't need to be like I'm here for three hours. Okay, next. Ta da da da. It doesn't need to be that way. Sometimes it's helpful when it's that way, but it can definitely not a need. speaker-0: It depends on who I'm with. Like if it's people where I know I only have like three hours of good energy to give them then I need to then I need to know how long we're gonna be there. But that's really just for me so I can like you know ⁓ Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And speaker-1: Yeah. regulate Another thing let's say sometimes you go somewhere thinking you're only gonna spend like maybe two hours and then you're like, I'm having a lot of fun, I wanna stay and you pick up and there you go. speaker-0: Which I feel like I know people who aren't doing that and that obviously whatever. But I do find like I feel like they cheat themselves out of a good time half the time. And obviously maybe they're not having the same experience I'm having. So but I'm always surprised by people who who don't listen to the vibe and change according to the vibe. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. speaker-0: If we're all having a good time and you were planning to go home at seven but you don't have to, why are you going home? But obviously not everyone is actually speaker-1: thing like you need your bedtime routine, you need your yada yada. You're looking forward to reading your book before you go to bed. Whatever. But I need to have something I'm looking forward to if I'm leaving a good a good vibe. speaker-0: Right. And most of the time if I end up leaving something early 'cause Connor wants to or needs to or something like I'm never mad when I get home and I'm in my house. Yes. Never. You know what I mean? Like it's fine. No. Not after a shower. speaker-1: No FOMO usually. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. Not after an hour and you're in bed and it's still kinda early in the night and you're like, ⁓ no, this is a win. ⁓ god. This is a good thing. speaker-0: It was like euphoria last night. I got into my shower. I had an amazing shower. My bed was so soft. speaker-1: I did have this a little bit off topic, but I did do an outdoor workout the other day. And I'm like, yep, this tracks for having a good day. This definitely is involved in my best day somewhere. Working out outside. Like it was hot, but it wasn't so hot yet, but it was starting to get hot. So sweating a lot and like there's just something about it. It feels good. And then taking that shower after. And then you have energy 'cause it's still early in the morning. speaker-0: Ugh. speaker-1: And you have energy from your workout, but you also feel like I could sit and read my book for a little bit and feel good, or we could like s sit and eat and you it just all the options sound good and I love that. Yeah. So I do stand, I reaffirm that an outdoor workout is absolutely a part of my best day. speaker-0: All the options are good. Dude, I would love to do an outdoor workout in your driveway. I would love to do an outdoor workout that's not in the Caribbean sun right now. Yeah I would love that. Technically I do an outdoor workout every day and it's it's a struggle. ⁓ speaker-1: A fall a fall morning. When you're here, we'll have to do one. Come lift. Anyway, so I think that kinda yeah, type A, type B. Type B isn't maybe a bad rap, but speaker-0: Can't wait. And so do type A, though. Type A gets being too uptight and then type B gets judged as being too chaotic. But you know what made me think about it? It made me like a TikTok of like, you know, you go to the airport and there's the friend who planned everything and the one who just shows up. And obviously it's going to be the type B person who just shows up. And I feel like there's that stereotype of like, you know, it it kind of feels like speaker-1: Yeah, speaker-0: saying that type P people don't pull their weight in situations. ⁓ And I don't think that's true. ⁓ it can be, but like we do our we pull our weight in other ways, I hope. speaker-1: Also, if everyone is type A, if we're talking specifically about a trip, if everyone is type A and everyone's like planning and wanting to have their own thing, there's some butting heads for sure. So type B is do allow for type A's too. I love how much we're saying type A, type A. I know. But they do allow for those people with the plan and who really care about the plan more to be happy. And then we're happy I'm like mostly happy to do whatever. Maybe I'm like, can we add like this one or two thing in or eat here or do this activity? And like I if you don't want to come, fine, I'll like work it into the itinerary. ⁓ but like it does complete the trip. You can't have everybody making all the decisions. speaker-0: Exactly. Like you can't have too many cooks in the kitchen. And that's how I feel. Yeah. Like if someone likes to plan or like just is going to do the planning anyway, I'm happy to put input in. Feel I I'm like here's my thing. Even in a relationship, it's like, okay, are you directing or am I? If you're directing, I won't give input unless asked because I just don't enjoy butting heads. I don't enjoy that. But if you want me to lead, I'm very happy to do so and I'm very capable. speaker-1: Kitchen. speaker-0: It's I it's not like I don't, you know what I mean? speaker-1: One hundred percent. It's good that's a good point in relationships too. Like do you want to take the lead on this? Great. I will come with a good energy. Right. speaker-0: That's what will feel. And that's and that's how I feel. If you are directing, I'm absolutely putting on my my best supportive face and all that shit. Like I'm not here to be critiquing what you're doing at all at all. So I think that's good. speaker-1: Exactly. That is a very healthy thing. For sure. speaker-0: Right. Anyway. speaker-1: Well, I like that take. speaker-0: Yeah, and like I am trying to cross over into type A territory like twice a week. 'Cause I I what I started to do speaker-1: It's very type by you to twice a week I'm trying to do this. speaker-0: And and that we're giving it our best shot. I'm trying to I'm trying to tell Connor like what I'm doing every single day and trying to run through it at the start of every day or at the end of the day before. I'm finding that very helpful. I'm just trying to I'm trying to like there's so many systems you can put in place for yourself so that I can be free to be a little chaotic and be a little whimsy. speaker-1: Nice too. This is so hot take of me, but lists are so nice. speaker-0: That's a fucking hot take, Liz. speaker-1: List I know. But something where you have a list for the week. It's somewhere where it's written out separately, maybe like a notepad on the kitchen or something, but where it's not in your head. So you'd be like, Okay, this doesn't all need to get done today, but I would like for it to be done this week. So you write it out somewhere, put it somewhere, and you just kind of cross things off as you go and you're like, This I really would like to get done today. Like today is a success if these two or to three things get done. And then here's more if the vibe is going that way and we're feeling productive, there there's more there, but also we can break it up. speaker-0: Right behind me is is my list. ⁓ my whiteboard. I write a whiteboard list weekly of it says two fucking do on top. And I've found that to be my favorite list. speaker-1: Yeah, And I do love writing a list. speaker-0: I have to. If I don't write something down, I will never remember it. Mm-hmm. I also just ordered a bunch of notebooks. I think I already told you this. But I'm gonna write on the notebook cover what's inside it and that's how I'm gonna track what I write about. speaker-1: Maybe I'll do something too. Okay, something new to try for me this week. I think I'm gonna try to thrift at a new place or a different place, but try, you know, thrift. ⁓ because that's something I did. I'm like, I want to do this more, curate either things for the home or clothes, but I definitely want to do that more. And then ⁓ try new recipes. speaker-0: Ooh, I wanna try a new recipes. speaker-1: I did cook with couscous for the first time, like instead of rice, and it was so good. The whole recipe was delicious and so easy. I'm like, we need like I need to experiment more with new flavors and foods because this was delicious and so worth it. speaker-0: Okay, let's each do a new recipe because I'm I've I just saved a bunch on TikTok last night. Same, same, same, same I forget what they were, but I'm so into them. speaker-1: Well you save ⁓ you go back. Got it. Okay, so to do for everyone this week is cook one of the recipes because I know everyone has done it. Cook one of the recipes you saved on social media or if you don't have social media and and whatever, try a new recipe. That's everyone's to do and we're gonna reconvene next week and talk about it. speaker-0: Perfect. Last week I did this. I well, I shouldn't say that You're right. Never mind. Never mind. Shut up, Evelyn. speaker-1: Talking about last week. That was so perfectly timed. Wow. Yada yada. Okay. Mama hunger. speaker-0: Yeah. Same Connor, like for We have to do like a wrap up of Love Island. I know, I know. The last two episodes They've been insane, Elizabeth. And I really I really I think so. No, yeah, let's just keep recording. Yeah. I speaker-1: And insane. Just keep recording real quick. speaker-0: Like and I knew they were gonna dump five pe like I'm so glad they dumped the all the people they dumped, 'cause I really needed them to get the fuck out of there. They're driving me nuts. Did you have any opinions on who they sent home? speaker-1: I was starting to like Jen a little bit more just 'cause she was like cracking me up a little bit. So I am a little sad to see her go. But I'm happy. I'm like, what a fuck you to gall that he has to leave the same night. speaker-0: Thank God. He I don't think I've ever had such a visceral reaction to someone like he is such a dick. The way? speaker-1: He came in completely normal conversation. I don't know, that's just coming across a little aggressive. Was crazy. I did say he posted a TikTok of him on his flight home and he said, I'm in the back row of the plane, ⁓ and my seat doesn't recline. Like, can we is this enough of a punishment for me? Can we end it here? And all of the comments were like, I don't know, that seems a little aggressive to me. Like speaker-0: Amen. I love the internet. Honestly, I love the internet. speaker-1: It's like okay, gallbladder. There were so many comments. It was so funny. That's that's real. Internet is fully winning. speaker-0: That's fucking hilarious. The internet, my God. I watching thank you for making me watch Love Island because I did feel in touch with the world and I I've deepened relationships. Like this is it's been a lovely time and the internet is goaded forever. I just I'm I'm obsessed. speaker-1: It's so good. Here's a few of my takes. Anaya, Trinity, Kata need to back Melanie up. She clearly wants them to tell, like, be like, I want to break off the sincere and I need your support. I feel like she's basically trying to say that, and they're like, I'm team sincere. I'm team sincere. speaker-0: Perfect. Which is absolutely insane. speaker-1: Watched everything he did. The fact that Corbin and Parmita called them out and the way Corbin said it was perfect. We've all been lied to. Yes, you all have been lied to. So love that they called them out. And then Melanie's saying to Parmita that ⁓ Parmita said the relationship is toxic and that I think Corbin actually said. speaker-0: Yes. speaker-1: The person that Sincere hurt the most was the person he's in a couple with. Like, come on, people, it's not clocking. Melanie said to Parmita, that's what a good friend would tell me. I like that's what same. speaker-0: Yeah. Hate to agree with them. Anaya, I I really you have terrible judgment. And someone someone commented on on TikTok and they were like, Anaya would have stayed with Casey if he came back without anyone. After in even after hearing all that. And I was like, They're fucking right. They're fucking right. So Anaya and Melanie have terrible judgment. And but I mean Melanie is being honest. Like I totally see she's but you're right. She needs the help of her girlfriends. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: She needs support to leave him. You know the reason they're behind him is because this is a T V show and they don't want her to be kicked off. They don't want their boy kicked off and they don't want their girl kicked off. Yeah. And like, yeah, they might you might have to fucking leave. But guess what? You should. speaker-1: Support to leave him because everyone's sincere. Why Yeah. I don't see how any of them can listen to sincere talk and like really believe what he's saying after seeing how he lied. speaker-0: That's what Melanie said. She was like, I really can't hear your speeches anymore. And I was like, Good. At least like Melanie's actions and what she says makes a lot of sense because obviously she likes him so much. She wants to forgive him. That's not hard to understand. It's not hard. And Naya and Gada, like, I'm so you guys are failing your girl. speaker-1: You're the ones who need to be mad at him more than Melanie, 'cause Melanie has those feelings involved and she knows she needs she needs the backup of her girl. It's speaker-0: Cruel, to be honest. And Anaya, you have no judgment. I'm sorry. Carl, you can probably do better. Like Anaya, I'm so you really need to grow up. I need her to grow up. I like her so much. I just think she really she's really naive and immature. She doesn't understand the things she thinks she understands. speaker-1: It's I think she's it was very obvious with K C but when they were dating before it cost up more. But she definitely is very insecure. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: out in in her relationships with the guys. She also is very quick to forgive him, which I understand you're living with these people. So I'm like, okay, like you want to be on good terms. I get that. And Casey did have a nice apology. Like speaker-0: I I was very shocked. speaker-1: Same. I was like, okay, like you're the KC I remember from before Casa Amoor a little bit. Like you're showing some accountability. Right. speaker-0: And I it was really honestly after hearing how they and how they acted in Kasam War was like so gross, so bad. And watching get them getting to watch their own behavior and them being so embarrassed by it really like let me have a sigh of relief because I was like, ⁓ my god. So people can understand wrong, right and wrong. Like, thank God. Because speaker-1: sucks that you have to see it and see it back to back in order to realize it, but thank God you are realizing it and how much you're hurting someone versus sin sincere. speaker-0: Who can't even say I fucked up. ⁓ my god. speaker-1: watching his clips and he's still getting defensive. And I forget when he said it, but he said to Melanie, he said, What you did and he's pointing his finger. ⁓ my god, when he stood up and was pointing his finger speaker-0: And it we're it. Yes. But I was like Corbin. What? Like what? speaker-1: What, during a challenge and she like had fun? Okay. speaker-0: I think she was like Yeah. They were a couple at one point or something, right? speaker-1: There were a couple at some point I think on the bed when she was going back and forth kissing them. speaker-0: Right, right. Yeah, that makes no sense. Shut the fuck up. No, ⁓ the audacity. speaker-1: And pointed his finger at the girls. speaker-0: Unbelievable. No, the the audacity he had to even speak is insane to me. He is not embarrassed enough. That's the crazy part. Is that like he does and like you could see his face when like when he realized like he is in like he is in deep shit, you could see how unhappy he is. And it's just you can't I could not tell. You can't tell if he really feels remorse or if he's just like, How do I get out of this? How do I get out of this? Like speaker-1: I think he's thinking, how do I get out of this and like what lies to spit? speaker-0: 'Cause he doesn't have many left and it's like speaker-1: Yes. When he made Melanie the breakfast date. Yeah. First of all, shows up with a rose, Kata. Aww Shut up, Kata. speaker-0: What, he made her breakfast in a different location? This is not cute. This is not cute. speaker-1: But he brings her and she says, What do you like to do after a bad day? You can see him like thinking, I like to go to Rita's and she's like, ⁓ what's your favorite flavor? And he's like, They had really good watered ice. First of all, it's Italian ice, but like, yeah, that's what Rita's has. Like, what do you mean they had good water like that's what they serve. Like that is what it is. And what's your favorite flavor? She says sour patch kids. I'm like, I'm not haven't been to Rita's that often, but pretty sure that was like Or a special flavor. Like they Swedish fish. Is that what you meant to say? Again, because it really seems like you are. There's nothing about what you're saying seems genuine and you're talking about fucking Rita's. Like again, how speaker-0: Right. Yeah. speaker-1: Maybe he's been like a couple of times. But he's like trying to relate to her. Maybe she mentioned speaker-0: Even trust his readers order. That's yeah. Yeah, he's just so terrible. I really and like I feel like it would have sucked for them to be like voted out that way and that's how they get dumped from the island. Uh-huh. But it would have been a fair consequence for both of them, unfortunately. Yeah. For putting your trust in the wrong people, Melanie, and sincere for being an absolute liar. speaker-1: Absolute liar. I really, really hope Melanie and Parmita can have a conversation in the next episode and she can get some backup from Melanie. But even like Corbin to be like, Look, like I thought we were bros, but we've all been lied to in this villa. Everyone else was so quick to forgive him. It's like they forgot. speaker-0: Yeah. It's because he lied he lied to Yeah. Exactly. And it but because he lied about speaker-1: about women that it's not that big of a deal. Like, come on. speaker-0: I think he's sad that he got caught. I think I think he's sad to realize that ⁓ yeah, he was being recorded. Like it's like he totally forgot that. Like what did you think was going to happen? You would thought he would do this and that he does. speaker-1: Even when he was doing it and talking like in his confessionals, it's like he thought it was normal and fine. speaker-0: I thought if you get one fish, you could also just get another fish because you're fishing and that's what fishermen do. ⁓ my god, Rio. ⁓ my gosh. Hola Rio. speaker-1: Let me grab him. speaker-0: Come tamo ⁓ sweet baby look at that smile speaker-1: Melanie and Sincere, I think they especially Melanie can like genuinely see herself outside of here because they're from the same area. So like they both know the city, like Philly, they both know the Jersey Shore, I'm assuming. Like they can really see that and there's like a little piece of home. But season six, Love Island, USA, was so popular and that's what made you ⁓ Love Island USA more popular. And I think season eight is getting some of that speaker-0: Uh-huh. speaker-1: Similar, like crazy episodes. But the difference is season six, the girls took none of the guy's shit. And I'm not saying they didn't like forgive the guys eventually, but like they took none of the guy's shit. There was one person, one girl who got disrespected one time by one guy, and she picked someone else over him, even though they had a connection. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: Like took no shit. With each other. They call like the girls called best friends still. Like you see them on social media. They see each other all the time. But they also called each other out on shit. And you're not seeing any of that on season eight with the girls and it's so frustrating, especially because the guys are doing much worse than the season six guys. I think. Maybe not much worse, similar, but speaker-0: Stand on business or get a fuck up. Dangerous. Yeah. Caden should not be with Zack anymore. speaker-1: ⁓ Truly similar work that I've seen. speaker-0: He's so toxic. He's so so toxic. speaker-1: And like it's just hidden well enough for for the people in the villa, not on T V. Right. Like 'cause his personality is charming. speaker-0: And that's the most toxic part is that he can do shit like say I love you and then say I'm joking. speaker-1: Everything he does says I'm joking. What the fuck? But when they announce movie night joking. He's like following Kata around, like, okay, I did this, okay, I did this, okay, I did this. And she's like, What the fuck is this? speaker-0: But then she's like, ⁓ you're perfect for me. It's like, What? Why are you accepting less than you like?
