Sam Wall: Alright, welcome back to the topic. I'm Sam. Zach: I'm Zach. Sam Wall: And we are back again with a Friday episode. this is our first time doing two episodes in a week, and this is how it'll be from now on. So let us know how you guys feel about it. Make sure that you are subscribed and you follow and you leave a comment, all that good stuff. And we're just gonna get straight into it pretty much. Zach: Sam cooked up something special today. Sam Wall: Yeah, so today we're doing something, obviously something we talk about a lot. on our pod is if things are peak or weak. So much so that last episode we even asked you guys if we should name the podcast that. And this game is essentially a game of takes. If you've ever watched a podcast like the escape pod or something, this is kind of our version of what they do called agree or disagree. I will say a take and we'll say whether that take is peak and we agree with it or if it's weak and we will argue with each other. So, that's kinda the idea. I think we're gonna agree on a lot of them, but overall I think I think it's gonna be a good time. So Zach: We're also not fluffing up the podcast at all. We're getting right into it. Sam Wall: We're getting we're getting right in there. also, we've got the Patreon and there will be a Patreon episode next Wednesday and then Wednesday after that, Wednesday after that. So make sure that you're over there. Okay. Zach: Yes. Sam Wall: First question or first take. Lanterns is a top three superhero show and deserved the hype that it got. Peak or weak. Zach: I'm gonna say peak, but there's a caveat because I haven't watched like Daredevil from Netflix or like some of the other really good ones that people say are really good, so and I haven't watched Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: X Men ninety seven. There's a couple that I haven't watched yet that are definitely probably in the running. Sam Wall: I would say right now with my recency bias attached, I would say peak and that I agree, but not by much. Like if it's in the top three, it's number three, I feel like. Zach: I can't think of two shows that are really better. I know we talked about Loki being pretty good, but Sam Wall: I mean I've watched Daredevil and I think Daredevil is handedly better. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: and like yeah, I prefer Loki. I'm Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: trying to think of what else I mean, if WandaVision didn't fall off a cliff at the end, then it would be in the conversation. Zach: I still just enjoyed like the vibe of lanterns a lot more than Wandavision, even though Wandavision was good. Sam Wall: I remember though during COVID when it was coming out week to week and me and my brother were just like chomping at the bit for the next episode. It was it was like Zach: Yeah, a hundred percent. Sam Wall: such a peak experience. Maybe if I watched it without that experience though it wouldn't be as good. Who knows? Zach: Yeah. That was good. Sam Wall: Take number two. Mace Windu easily could have killed Palpatine and won the battle handedly if Anakin hadn't intervened. Zach: I'd probably say I'd probably say he could have won. Sam Wall: Okay. Yeah, I'd I'd probably say peak. I Zach: Pete. Sam Wall: I mean it's always up for debate. Everybody's always like, Well Palpatine wasn't even trying. But Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: low key, I really do think Mace Windu could have taken him. Zach: The way it was portrayed in Revenge of the Sith gives us the vibe that Mace could've fucking won. So I'm gonna go based on that. Sam Wall: Yeah. I mean he was going in, bro. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: He also like before Anakin came in, he like had him at the throat, bro. Like he wasn't even touched. He was cooking. Zach: I also think that like Mace was low key a little bit more level headed than a lot of the Jedi Council toward the end of the Clone Wars. And like I feel like he was like a smart guy. I don't know. Like out Sam Wall: And I feel like he had a lot of reason not to trust Anakin. Like maybe you should have given him more, but Zach: Yeah, a hundred percent. A hundred percent. Sam Wall: yeah, he he seemed to be the one that was like not up his own butt a little bit. Okay. Zach: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Sam Wall: since you just watched the Spider-Man movies, you can you can give a good take on this. J.K. Simmons is J. Jonah Jameson is easily the best comic book casting of all time. Zach: Best comic book casting of all time. Okay, here's the thing. I have not huge like I'm not hugely read in comics yet, so like I can't really say how good the depictions of the characters are from from page to film, but it's fantastic. I would probably say peak, honestly. Are we including like all the heroes and everything too? It's just like okay, for Sam Wall: Yeah, I would say peak. Yeah, yep. I would say peak. I think he's absolutely perfect for the role. Perfect. Zach: To be fair, I've won I've read one Spider Man comic, even the Spider Hunt comic that I read had a lot of Jay Jonah in it and it was like I could hear the voice on like I could hear the talking, you know what I mean, of the comic. So yeah. So like in Sam Wall: Exactly. Exactly. So peak. Zach: that sense, yeah, I would I would say so. I don't have anything right off the bat that I'm like, okay, yeah, definitely something else, but yeah. Sam Wall: Okay, next take. In terms of acting chops, Aaron Zach: Uh-huh. Sam Wall: Pierre as Jon Stewart in Lanterns will be DC's version of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Zach: peak, yeah. I mean that was like an absolute master class if you're asking me. I'm not like Sam Wall: Yeah, I Zach: one to grade acting. Like I'm really not. It's just like, was the movie good? Like did everything go well? Like that's that's how I rate movies, honestly. I'm not like super analytical about it, but he was like so convincing as Green Lantern, so I don't know. Sam Wall: Yeah, I think he was absolutely awesome in in the role. And Zach: Also Sam Wall: as far as like continuing into the DCU franchise, like I feel like he'll be the one that we consistently look at and be like, Man, Aaron Pierre killed it in this. You know what I mean? Zach: Did did a hundred percent. And also I'm pretty sure he's casted in Starfighter. Sam Wall: Yeah, he is. Yeah. Zach: Dude, that him and Gosling that's a fucking convincing ass duo right now. And d Yeah, Sam Wall: That's two of the most attractive men that have ever lived, bro. Zach: dude. also, did you see that? a hundred percent. And also, I Sam Wall: Starfighter's gonna be a feast for the eyes, bro. Zach: think that they I don't know if it's confirmed or not, but there is a rumor that Aaron Pierre is a Jedi in Starfighter, which that's pretty fucking cool. So yeah. Sam Wall: Yeah. That would be insane. And, you know, just everybody seems to have decided that they should just give him the most aura roles that they possibly can. And Zach: Yeah, a hundred percent. Sam Wall: you know, I'm behind that. Okay. Zach: the more I think about Starfighter, the more I'm optimistic, but we'll see. Sam Wall: I'm a little worried that we're gonna argue about this. but we'll see. The Zach: All right. Okay. Sam Wall: Phantom Apprentice in the Siege of Mandalore is handedly the best episode of Star Wars media we've ever gotten. Zach: I thought you were gonna say C John Mandalore and I was gonna agree, but now I now I have to say weak because I don't think that's I don't think it's it is. But it is top three for sure. It's actually after rewatching it just recently, it's the best episode of Clone Wars for sure. Sam Wall: It's what a lot of people say is is the best episode of Star Wars Media ever. Zach: No law, no order except what is going to replace it or whatever the fuck. Sam Wall: I I strongly think that it's weak. I strongly think that's a weak take. I think this this is definitely a hot take, I think. I don't think people would be angry at it, but it's definitely a hot take. I think that One Way Out is easily the best episode of Star Wars media that we've ever. Zach: I I think I think there's like six and or episodes that I'd put over the Phantom Apprentice, honestly. Like Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. Zach: I'd putting the I, I'm putting the finale of season one one way out. putting the three episode run of the Gorman Massacre with the Mon Mothma speech, like that's six episodes right there, so I would say. And then the only other things Sam Wall: Yeah. I think that one Zach: that go go ahead. Sam Wall: One Way Out, I think, is like a perfect episode of TV. Like, I don't think Zach: It is. Sam Wall: there's a single thing wrong with it. And outside of Luthien, like I think that Andy Circus's performance as as a Zach: Kino Loi. Sam Wall: Keno Loy is like one of the best performances I've ever seen in Star Wars ever. Like he's so good, bro. He's so good. Zach: Yeah, it's fantastic. It's literally so good. But dude, just the casting we can make a whole podcast about the castings of Andor. Literally every buts everyone is good in that show. Everyone is good. Yeah. Sam Wall: Yeah, everybody's everybody's going crazy. All right. Next. DC's rollout for their movies and TV shows makes sense Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: and will be good for their franchise in the long run. Zach: okay. I'm not gonna lie. I actually I'll say peak right now, just because like I don't know enough about I've watched nothing except lanterns. Preface that answer Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: with that. however, I've heard people say decent things about Peacemaker. I heard people say decent things about the first season of Superman. Supergirl was like people were saying it wasn't good, but if that's like the worst that we're gonna get out of the DCU it's not really a big deal. Like that's fine. Like it's better than some of the worst in Marvel. People were saying it from what I saw. Then there's like one animated show that I don't know anything about. That was a sleeper, apparently. Yeah, I was gonna say that Sam Wall: It's really good. Yeah. Zach: people said it was a sleeper. And then we have lanterns and then Sam Wall: Yeah, creature commandos. Zach: the rollout for Superman is already David Corn Sweat saying it's the Empire Strikes Back of the Superman trilogy is already kind of convincing me. So and yeah, and Sam Wall: And Clayface coming out. Zach: Clayface and Lo Clayface trailer has me convinced. So I don't know. Sam Wall: I'm gonna say weak because I think everything is has potential to be good and I think that they've been cooking so far. I haven't seen enough and I'm not convinced that the genre hopping is going to help them. Cause Zach: Yeah, there. Sam Wall: like I think when you jump from genre to genre like you are with like the true detective style and then Superman and then all that stuff, like I think it's really good for getting people hooked onto a certain project. But I'm not Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: sure that all of those people that loved lanterns are going to be like, Aaron Pierce and Superman, that's like a comedy action film. They're gonna be like, now I'm gonna go see that. Like Zach: But if Aaron Pierre shows up in Superman, he's like, You fucking dumbass. Like like what the fuck are you doing? Like that would be lit. Sam Wall: That would be crazy. That would be crazy. Zach: Yeah. He wouldn't do that though, 'cause Superman's not R, but I don't think it is at least. Sam Wall: Yeah, and I mean Guy Gardner was talking like that in lanterns and he did not talk like that in Superman at all. Zach: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Sam Wall: So I I like but I don't think it'll ever be as crazy Zach: I gotta watch Superman though. Sam Wall: as like 'cause Punisher in his own show and in Daredevil is like off the handle, super intense, and then he was like totally a comedy character in brand new day. So it also just might be one of those situations where people either love that or they hate it. Yeah, kinda. Okay. Zach: It kinda worked though, so yeah. Sam Wall: A solo Vader movie. Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: would be an entertaining and more impactful film than a grievous movie. Zach: I'm gonna say I'm gonna say like technically speaking probably peak, but personally speaking I would say weak. Sam Wall: I think I think I feel the same way. Like I Zach: Because it's like I've seen enough of Vader to love the character. However, like that like if they did a movie before A New Hope and it was like Darth Vader's castle, a lot of setting in Darth Vader's castle, like a lot of like cool stuff with the apprentices, not the apprentices, the inquisitors, like all that would be a really cool movie. However, I think that if Grievous got his own movie, it would be way fucking cooler if it was done correctly. Sam Wall: Yeah, I think I think Vader's movie would be better for the franchise. But I think a grievous Zach: Yeah, they would never do a grievous movie, that's the thing. Sam Wall: movie would be better for the fans. Like Zach: Yeah, no, a hundred percent. Sam Wall: especially if like you get him like being changed slowly and then the layer of Grievous and he's like crawling around his lair and stuff, that would be crazy. Zach: yeah. I I one thing I'm curious to see is like if they did anything prequels or Clone Wars or anything related back on the big screen, how it would perform in relation to a new timeline because I'm always like conflicted as to how many people actually fucking love the prequels and how many people actually love the OT. Like I know there's a lot of people who love both, but like do people really care that much about Grievous to go see a movie? Or is it just us? Like, I don't know. Sam Wall: Yeah, I think all the all the Clone Wars people really love him. But Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: yeah, I don't know. All right. that's a great point though. Star Wars Legends is overall good and should be canonized in the Star Wars EU. Zach: peak peak for sure. Peak for sure. I haven't read enough Sam Wall: Yeah, peak. I think that's I mean Zach: legends, but it's definitely convincing so far. Sam Wall: So much of it used to be, right? Like I I thought that Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: the Air to the Empire trilogy, the like Thrawn trilogy used to be canon and then Disney removed it. Like there are certain things like that. Like we used to have backstory to Grievous that like was canonized in the universe and then Disney came in and removed it. Like Zach: Well, I think like Shadows I think there are some canon projects that are still good, like that are considered canon. Like I think Catalyst is canon, Master and Apprentice is canon. Sam Wall: Yeah. Yeah, it's canon. Zach: Yeah, there's good ones, but there's a lot of other shit. Like it just makes no sense why it wouldn't be. Like for example, I just read Rogue Planet, not a canon Star Wars novel. It's basically just about like it it's like about twelve year old Anakin and Obi Wan going to a planet. It fills in more about Moff Tarkin and his brother. It's a cool book. Like it's nothing crazy, but like why not have it a part of the lore? It's cool enough. Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. everybody's already going to know our answer to this. Andor is easily a top three best written show of all time. Peak. Zach: peak, peak, peak, peak, peak, peak. Sam Wall: Peak. We don't even need to explain that. It just is. Go watch it. Zach: Bro, I can I can sit here and argue against every other show, say it's the best show written of all time. Sam Wall: And there's so many people that I've spoken to that are like, it wasn't for me. The first two episodes were really slow. And I'm just like Zach: All you needed to do is watch one more. I know. Yeah. Sam Wall: Bro. You don't know what you're missing, bro. and the first two episodes not that slow. Like really not. Like you need to look at it like as a movie. Zach: Not that slow. No dude, the the opening scene, he's the opening scene, he like fucking mops the floor with two dudes in the first five seconds. Sam Wall: Yeah. And I do think that confuses some people because the first the first ten minutes you're like, this is gonna be such a fast paced show and then it goes immediately Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: into slow burn. But people need to look at it as like a movie, you know? 'Cause Zach: Everything is methodically placed though. Yeah. Sam Wall: it it like Andor is scripted and written and filmed as if it is like seven or eight movies. Like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: it's an entire Star Wars franchise on its own. Zach: Hundred percent. And then Rogue One's like the finale kind of. Sam Wall: yeah, it's crazy. the John Watts decision for episode ten makes sense and will be good for the franchise. Zach: Weak. Sam Wall: I think you yeah, yeah, yeah. Weak. So weak. So weak. Like Zach: So weak. Look, I'm coming around a little bit. I'm coming around a little bit. the more I think about it. I Sam Wall: I'm not coming around on John Watts at all, bro. Zach: I'm not coming around on John Watts. I'm coming around on the fact that if you are not going to make Ray Skywalker the main character of the new trilogy, but you want her to have some involvement. It is a pretty big time jump after Rise of Skywalker, and Starfighter is the prequel to it, kind of setting the scene of the world we're gonna see. I think it could be done. However, I don't trust the keys being given to the two that they're giving him to. That's my biggest problem. Sam Wall: Yeah, I mean I can I can get behind the plot. Like I can get behind the idea for the movie. John Watts is Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Sam Wall: the like one of the worst choices. Like what Zach: Yeah, no, a hundred percent. Sam Wall: you either need is you need a young director that's hungry and really wants to do something different. Or you need one of the goats. Like this is Star Wars. Like, say what you want about George Lucas. Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Here's the other thing too. Sam Wall: He's ruined the franchise in a lot of ways, but he is one of the most visionary directors that like we've ever had. Zach: A hundred percent. Sam Wall: And like we're just handing the keys to the most bland like Sean Levy too, as great as Starfighter may be, one of the blandest directors that there is. Zach: Yeah, and also here's another thing. we pointed out multiple times that John Watts has not made good looking movies. And if we go from it say the movie's actually pretty good, like say episode ten's pretty good, but it looks like shit, then people are gonna be like, Yo, the rise of Skywalker looked amazing. We can at least give it that. Like it looked really good and we went from a shitty movie that looked amazing to a good movie that looked like shit. Like we don't want that to happen either, so Sam Wall: Dude, do do you also I'm just realizing this now. Plus, I mean, Star Wars fans have been united over the past few years over our hate for the sequels. Like we all Zach: Uh-huh. Sam Wall: think the sequels are bad. But I remember when the sequels were coming out, that was like the start of people's turnaround for the prequels. And everybody's Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: like, we love the prequels. Bro, if episode ten comes out and it's bad, everybody's gonna be like, the sequels were peak. The sequels were peak. Zach: Yeah. Well, here's the thing too, if Ray's involved, I gotta be honest, I fucking loved Ray after The Force Awakens, actually. Like genuinely thought it was a great character. Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: And also, I will say, the the scene of her the first scene of her ever in Star Wars, of her rummaging around in the Star Destroyer with that mask on, is one Sam Wall: yeah, it's great. Zach: of with Rey's theme in the background is one of the most like holy shit, this is an awesome character like moment ever. Like this is a great introduction. I loved it. Sam Wall: Yeah. All right. Winter Soldier easily has the best action in the MCU. Zach: I would say yeah, for sure. I would say it's my I'd say peak because it's my kinda action. Sam Wall: Yeah. I think it's close, but I would say weak, just because I think Brand New Day's action and Shang-Chi's action is like so well filmed and well done. I like I think Destin Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: Daniel Cretin does it the best. But I think the hand to hand combat is easily some of the best in the MCU. Like I think the elevator fight the the elevator Zach: I was gonna say I think it's kind of a little bit different. Yeah. Sam Wall: fight could easily be the best fight sequence out of anything in the MCU. But Zach: Well, the street sequence as well is like really good. There's there's a lot of good. But I mean when I wa re watch that movie I'm just like, Yeah, like this this thing is as good as I remember. Sam Wall: The escape pod are LARPers and only care about docking. Cake. Zach: Peak. I mean on paper on paper it's what the podcast is about, but you know. Nah no. I mean they know a lot more about superheroes Sam Wall: I guess we'll never know. I guess we'll never know. Zach: than I do, so Sam Wall: No, no. We love the escape pod. Just to get that out there. Zach: Yeah. I know. Sam Wall: The Patreon is sick and everyone should sign up for it for Wednesday episodes. Peak. Agreed. Yeah, it's Zach: Peak. It's a huge one. It's a huge one. Sam Wall: so cheap too. Who would have thought? Okay. Zach: Save don't buy coffee one day and you'll be fine. Sam Wall: Star Wars is at its best when it widens to being for an adult audience. Zach: Mmm this one's actually the hardest one yet, I'm not gonna lie. I actually I actually would say weak. Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. I think I do say peak and I I put one word in here that I think specifically makes it peak is the word widens. Like I think when it can be for kids, but it's widened so that it's entertaining for adults, that is when Star Wars is at its best. Zach: Okay, so you're s you're more so saying like season seven of the Clone Wars is like pretty damn like mature in tone, I would say, but it's still for kids, kind of. Sam Wall: Or even before that when they're like pulling tumors out of clones' heads. Like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: that like, you know, I I I just feel like Star Wars doesn't have to just be for adults. Like, Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: obviously we both love Return of the Jedi. You like it a lot more than I do. But we both love Return of the Jedi, and that's like a kid's movie. Just like straight up. Zach: Yeah. Well Rebels is like really kid friendly, but I love it. Sam Wall: And yeah, Rebels is very kid friendly, but I I do think it's at its best when it's it widens to an adult audience. Zach: I think we just need more good projects and I don't really care like if some are adult focused and some are not. Sam Wall: Yeah. Okay, four more questions. Four more takes. Hal Jordan's death was the right decision and he should not be brought back. Zach: peak. Sam Wall: peak. I agree. I think it's the right decision. Also, a lot of people I don't think caught they said like as soon as he recharges the ring, like the halogram is gone. Like Zach: Yeah, forever. Sam Wall: he's not coming back. and I think that's a good decision. Zach: No. But people were just mad that you wasted a or from what I saw, wasted Sam Wall: Pete casting. Zach: a peak casting and only one season of T V. Like I don't know. I saw the Escape Pod talking about doing a prequel movie to have more backstory on how with that casting. Like, I wouldn't mind that, but I mean, I just feel like Bro, it was clearly written for like Jon Stewart to pop off and like I feel like Hal just added so much to John's character that it did exactly what Nintended to do. I don't know. Sam Wall: I mean it was always a John Stewart show, not a Hal Jordan show, you know? Zach: Yeah. And Houston brought up a great point as well in my comments on my video where he was like Sam Wall: Ugh, love Houston. Everybody go follow follow Houston. Shout out. Zach: Yeah, Houston Skywalker. he was like, People need to let creatives see their vision all the way through. Because if they gave us the finale that we wanted, a giant CGI space battle or whatever, like Green Lanterns going crazy, fighting bad guys, like it wouldn't have fit with the story. You know what I mean? Like and and and like the reason I like they committed to what they were doing. Like that finale made sense in the story that they told. And if they did it any other way, it would have been weird. And they would have been sucking up to the fans, honestly. Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. I think I think that's a fantastic take. Zach: No, it is. Sam Wall: Tazm two is a great Spider Man film and is easily a top three live action Spider Man. Zach: Peak. Sam Wall: Peak. I like I Zach: Hundred percent. Sam Wall: get people's criticisms, don't care. Just don't. I really don't. It's so good. Zach: I don't care at all. I like both Tasm movies. Andrew Garfield is that good to me. Sam Wall: Yeah. Okay, two more questions. Lord of the Rings is easily the best book to movie adaptation ever made. Zach: easily peak. Easily peak. Sam Wall: Yeah, yeah. I I feel like even though it it's probably not the most accurate, like there are movies that are like like the movie I love the book Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the movie Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: for that is like almost word for word. Like it's crazy how close it is. Zach: I would say let's be a little bit honest here. I would say the only thing rivaling it is gonna be Dune. And honestly, if Dune three is good, then I would probably say they're on the same level of adaptation. Sam Wall: Yeah. I agree. Zach: Also, I have no problem mm, the Odyssey's up there for me. I'm not gonna lie. Like really high up there for sure. But Sam Wall: I wouldn't consider that a book to movie adaptation, Loki. Zach: I mean it's still a retelling of the Odyssey. Sam Wall: Yeah, it is. But it's only like twenty five percent of the Odyssey. Like, I I feel like for it to like successfully be a book to movie adaptation, like it needs to keep at least like fifty percent of the bones, you know what I mean? Zach: I have no issue with like taking the core of the story and like retelling it in a modern way though, because like the changes that were made in Lord of the Rings and Dune almost make the movie trilogies like their own entity based on like the way that it was done in the books. But like it's you watch those movies and you're like, What what do you want to change it to make it more boring? Like parts of the books. Like I'm not calling the books boring, but it's like it was done so perfectly. Why would you change it? Sam Wall: Dude, I will say, if they included the dinner scene in Dune, it would have been peak. It would have been so Zach: Yeah, that's fair. Sam Wall: good, bro. But, yeah, I think Lord of the Rings is is easily the best book to movie adaptation I've ever seen. Easily. I mean, I haven't seen Zach: Yeah. It's just the best movie trilogy probably ever. Sam Wall: I haven't seen No Country for Old Men yet, so maybe that'll be up there when I read it and watch it. Okay, Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: let's finish on this one. Let's finish strong, shall we? Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: Twilight of the Apprentice justifies Simon Kinberg being hired for episode ten. Zach: Absolutely not. Weak as fuck. Absolutely not. Sam Wall: Weak. Weak. It because here's the thing. I've seen people arguing this, like genuinely seen whole videos. I need to try and send them to you later. Like I've seen whole videos of people being like, This guy wrote the best episode of Rebels ever. Like like obviously he can do this. It is a twenty minute episode of a kid's show. Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Sam Wall: Like we're giving him a live action movie that he needs to write. Zach: Also, you take enough swings and you'll hit one and he hit one. Sam Wall: Exactly, bro. A broken clock is right twice a day. Like what are we doing, bro? That doesn't make any sense. Zach: Yeah. I mean he definitely hit on that one, but it's like like he he wrote some of the other Rebels episodes. Like I like all those episodes. It's just like it's not moving the needle for me. Sam Wall: Also, like, it's completely different to actually that doesn't even make sense. What I was going to say is it's completely different to take incredibly written characters and like write a good follow-up story for them. But he Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: did that for X-Men and he ruined it. Like he wrote two of the worst X-Men movies ever. I and I Dark Zach: Which ones were they Dark Phoenix and Sam Wall: Phoenix and Apocalypse. Which I haven't seen either of them, but they're like the some of the lowest rated ones. Zach: And Fantastic Four is unwatchable from what I've heard, so Sam Wall: Yeah, fan four stick is awful. Awful. So bad. So Zach: So I'm not gonna like and those are movies, by the way, not shows and not episodes of four seasons of T V that are good. Like it's not also Sam Wall: And he wrote one good X Men movie too, but it's just like Zach: Which one? Sam Wall: the ratio here is is not working out. He wrote one called Days of Future Past. Yeah. Zach: he wrote that one? No. I heard that one's peak. Sam Wall: Yeah, it's supposedly, but like bro. Broken clock. Zach: Okay, here here's here's my thing too. The movies are all on his back. Like, and he ended up doing a good one with Days of Future Pass, whatever, but like that's all on him. He did the finale to a show where 21 episodes were written for him before he did the finale. Like, like, that's not impress. Yeah, I'm sure they I'm sure he was. No. No. I'm actually Sam Wall: And he was probably in the room with all the other writers. Like it there's no way it was just him. There's no way it was just him. Actually, I'm just realizing that now. Cause shows have writers rooms. Like just cause he Zach: Yeah, like a writer's room, yeah. Sam Wall: was in there does not mean that he wrote the whole up dude, what are we doing? Why are we giving it to this guy? Zach: Yeah. I'm actually more you can you can convince me more that John Watts is the right director 'cause he made Skeleton Crew than Simon Kinberg doing Twilight of the Prentice, to be honest. Cause like Skeleton Crew crew overall had a really good direction and vision and I feel like it executed on what exactly what it wanted to. I'm not saying it's the best show ever, but it's good. And Simon Kimberg is like there's nothing convincing enough there. There's not enough meat on the bones. Like it's just not it's not doing it for me. Sam Wall: Yeah, terrible. Well anyways, guys, this has Pika Week.
