Sam Wall: Welcome back to the topic. I'm Sam. Zach: I'm Zach. Sam Wall: and today, we're pretty much gonna get straight into it. We're gonna be drafting today. So our draft today is gonna be Clone Wars arcs. we're if you haven't seen Clone Wars, that's fine. We're gonna probably I mean, we explain everything too much, so we'll probably explain a little bit Zach: We're gonna spoil the f shit out of this show. Sam Wall: what's what's happening. And Yeah, Clone Wars is broken up into these like two to five episode arcs throughout every single season. some of them are one episode actually, so I'll say one to five episode arcs. And so if you've never seen a draft before, the way a draft works, we're gonna flip a coin to see who gets first pick, and then I'm gonna pick one, and as soon as I pick one, Zach can no longer take the arc that I took. And we're going to compile lists of five arcs each, and you guys are going to decide whose is better. Zach: If I lose this draft then that says a lot about me 'cause I just rewatched the Clone Wars and Sam hasn't rewatched it in a little while. But the next draft we're doing, Sam Wall: I haven't seen it in years. Zach: Sam has the advantage on me. So it's it's all fair and good. It's all fair and good. Sam Wall: for sure. Okay, so only housekeeping we have, Patreon on Wednesdays. Patreon is officially back this Wednesday for the first time since I broke my knee. And yeah, subscribe, like, comment, do all that stuff. Zach: All right, let's get into it. Let's go. All right, or flip Sam Wall: Shall we? Okay. Heads or tails. Zach: it I I'm taking tails all day. Sam Wall: Chaos. Zach: Damn. Okay. Sam Wall: Okay, bro. That's all you. Zach: The the one one pick of the draft. The one one pick of the Clone Wars draft. I actually have a little piece of it right here with me. I'm taking the Siege of Mandalore. It is just Sam Wall: Gosh, you misled me. You made me think you wouldn't take it. I hate you. Zach: Hey, I can't lie, there are two two arcs that I would say are like not as good, but they're really close. but anyway, C John Mandalore, just like perfection. the way that it's done, I feel like, is special because not only do we get Maul and Ahsoka being two of the best written characters in Star Wars, like that totally solidifies them for me. And also We get to see the Order Sixty Six stuff happen. But the cool part is when you're watching Clone Wars for the first time, like you're just realizing that, this is what was going on during Revenge of the Sith. Like you don't know like what was happening with Ahsoka and Captain Rex and all these main characters. I love that part of it. And there's just so many cool moments. Like I I think we can all agree that I I don't know, at least I think the Phantom Apprentice is the best of the best episode of the four. What do you think? You Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. Zach: agree? Okay. Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: I don't know, some people think that the victory and death is the best. And I I think I had it there, but then I think after re watching I think I have the Phantom Apprentice better. I like it better. Sam Wall: I mean, we talked a few days ago and you you told me that Victory and Death was your favorite and then you finished the rewatch. I I think the Phantom Apprentice Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: just like Maul's speech like Maul obviously is always spewing speeches, but Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: it's not often that like we really get him like being honest about something that he feels and it's so peak. But even victory Zach: That lives s rent free in my head, bro. The no law, no order. That one is just Sam Wall: and death, Victory and Death crazy, bro. When he like Zach: Dude, victory and death is just the one that hits you in the heart strings. Sam Wall: When Maul throws the door and it like cuts the dude's head off, crazy. Crazy. Zach: Yeah, no. Is that the one is that the one with the mall hallway scene or no? Sam Wall: Yeah, bro. Zach: Yeah, that one's that one's tough. Yeah. Sam Wall: Insane. Okay. my first pick, I'm gonna pick another Ahsoka heavy arc, and I'm gonna go with her trial arc. in my opinion, Zach: Yeah, that's that's definitely top three for sure. Sam Wall: it's easily the second best arc in Clone Wars because we while watching are kind of wondering like, well, since Ahsoka is such a big part of Anakin's life and all this stuff, like where did she go? And like we finally get the answer and we really get to see some really important Star Wars lore, like the corruption of the Jedi, Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: how the Sith have gone in from the inside, Jedi Paris, and Anakin starting to like really lose control, which are all peak. Zach: Yeah. And that I think that set off a little bit too, obviously. Sam Wall: Also, when I was compiling this list, not to spoil anything ahead, I realized I really have a soft spot for arcs where Anakin starts to lose control a little bit. Zach: All right, that's her. I mean, dude, also, I think that, yeah, like you said, it's like the turning point in the Republic for me. And honestly, it all just predicates on this event that Ahsoka's leaving the Jedi Order on her own terms. Like she was literally brought into this, she was a part of this. Like it was a whole big thing. And for her to be able to do that on her own terms, it just speaks volumes about what was going on during this part of the Clone Wars. And I think like that end of season. Sam Wall: Yeah, that she steps away. Zach: Yeah, exactly. That end of season five ish area, like that's when I feel like things really start to heat up. Like that's Sam Wall: No, for sure. Zach: when things no, that's in the top three of my arcs for sure. For sure. Sam Wall: That's when it goes from like a kid show to like something more, you know? Zach: Yeah, I exactly. I said that in my video. I said the the tone just gets like crazy mature for like a kid's show. Like other than a couple filler arcs, but you know. okay. Sam Wall: After you. Zach: Second pick. Second pick. I don't even think I got it on my shelf right there too. I got another piece of it right there. Taking the Umbarra arc all day long. That is I was the Sam Wall: Okay. I figured. Zach: I was literally debating Sam Wall: I figured. Zach: taking that as my first, like not even kidding. Just from like a pure enjoyment of the arc standpoint, I could watch that arc a hundred times over and not get part of it. I love it. I think Star Wars Vietnam, but also like the humanity of I mean the humanness of like the clones that we get to see. Like for so long it's just like clones are all clones follow orders, clone fall clones follow orders. And it's the first time not the first time, but it's like the first I would say detailed time where we get to see how they think they have different personalities. They're looking out for each other. They're wondering why their general is turning them against each other. Fuck Punk Krell. All my homies hate Ponkrell. But like, no, it's like the just on top of it being so awesome, Umbar is a really cool planet. And the the battle scenes are incredible too. On top of it being like heartfelt and like you really feeling for the clones in that in that arc. Like it's just it's just so good. It's so good. Sam Wall: Yeah, I totally agree. I I mean, it's one of the best T V show arcs. Zach: And when they come in to arrest him, that's one of the a hundred percent. And when they come in to arrest him, that's some of the most aura I've ever seen in a show. So sick. Sam Wall: yeah, it's crazy. It's crazy, bro. Krell, say what you Zach: Yeah. Yes. Sam Wall: want about him. He's kind of a dog. Zach: Yeah, and if anyone has a Pong Krell Lego mini figure they wanna send to me, feel free because I need him for my arc my my mock right there, so. Sam Wall: Okay, number three. I'm debating which one on my list I want to take first. Zach: Wait, you're number two. You're on number two. You're on number two. Yeah. Sam Wall: number two. Yeah. I'm still debating which one I want to take next just because Zach: Okay. Sam Wall: I'm gonna go with the the Clovis arc. Cause I think first of all, yeah, it's an underrated pick. Zach: Okay, that's an underrated pick. The banking arc? Which one? There's two. Sam Wall: it's the one it's been so long. It's the one where Anakin lets him die. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's definitely the second Zach: okay, all right, okay. I think that's the second one with the with the bank. Yeah. Sam Wall: one. I I think, first of all, it's some of the best politics that we get in Clone Wars. Zach: Yeah, it's good. Sam Wall: I think Anakin is is crazy in it, which is awesome. I I honestly think there are some characters in Clone Wars that are just annoying sometimes. Like, where Zach: Yeah, fair enough. Sam Wall: arcs tend to get very kid like. But I think consistently, Padme has some really good material in the Clone Wars. And I think the Clovis Arc, Zach: Mm-hmm. No, she does. She has the best material in that. Sam Wall: yeah. The Clovis Arc is like very mature, especially for Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: a kid's show. It's really sick. Zach: Yeah. Well, dude, there's like a lot going on in that arc. And I actually was like trying to break it down to my little brother. And I realized that like honestly, the best way to teach a kid about politics without getting political is to watch the Clone Wars. Like I'm dead ass serious. Like it's crazy how much it teaches you. Like Sam Wall: No for sure. And and or Zach: Yeah, and and or that like for sure. But that arc, it's like the first time they realize that both sides of the war are being funded. And at the same time There's like an whole nother thing going on with like Dooku trying to raise I think it's like tax rates so that the economy crumbles because he's simultaneously trying to take down Emperor Palpatine. So like the Republic's like, what the fuck's going on? Dooku at the same time is trying to take down Palpatine. So like there's there's like a lot of moving pieces and the way they make it like super political like that is so sick. And and it's like go ahead. Sam Wall: Well and like the crazy thing too is like no kid is gonna understand that. Like no twelve year old's gonna watch that and be like, yeah, I'm like tracking everything that's happening right now. And that's Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: why there's this like emotional through line of like Clovis trying to like convince Bad May to like run away with him. And Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Sam Wall: like it's just so peak. It's so peak. Zach: Hundred percent. Dude, my next my next one is like the hardest because like I have like three that I could flip a coin on and be okay with. I'll I'll I'm gonna steer away from one that I wanna pick because it's similar to my other pick. But I'll go with the second battle of Geonosis as my third pick, actually, which is probably like not what most people would put as their third pick, but that If we want to talk about like pure just just all out fucking battle in Clone Wars for like four episodes straight with every character that you love, basically, that is definitely at the top of my list. And it's like you just get everything. Like the stakes are high. There's ups and downs for the whole four-episode arc. And it's just some of the best battle scenes in all of the Clone Wars. and I have to pick it for that. I picked the other two cause the writing's good and whatever, but like this one is just a pure you turn on Clone Wars, this part this this just embodies what what makes it so electric to watch when I was ten years old and still at twenty five. Sam Wall: Hmm. True. Zach: So that's my pick. Sam Wall: Okay. Here's my number three. I feel like I'm still wrestling with like which one because there's so many that I want, but I feel like we're kind of going in different directions. And so at my number three, Zach: Yeah. I have a lot. Sam Wall: I'm going to pick Maul taking over Mandalore. Zach: That was the one I was gonna pick. That was that was the one I was gonna pick. That was literally Sam Wall: Okay. Okay. Zach: right next to it. Sam Wall: First of all, we've got like a lot of peak mall here. Like obviously when he comes back into the Clone Wars, like it's this crazy, like it's a huge up for the show, you know, Zach: Uh-huh. Sam Wall: like as a whole. Even though the show's good before it kind of like is where the show starts feeling like, we're like going somewhere, you Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: know? but the way that he's winning people over. to his side, pushing his way into the city and then ending with the Darksaber fight, bro, is just insane. Yeah. Yeah. That previsla fight is crazy, bro. Zach: Yeah. Rip Paz. I mean not Paz, pre Rip pre Vizla. But no It is crazy and also like it's just it's one of those arcs that's just so electric. Like Maul on the throne, like he's just like I'm the fucking man. Like and I'm gonna Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: make everyone feel it. Like and I'm gonna go get everyone on my side. Is the Sam Wall: Well, and like we've been talking a lot too about like tone shifts in the show. And I Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: feel like that's another big one because I remember watching it with my family and my mom Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: like almost being like scared of what we were watching in shock because Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: like even though like there's this weird night sister stuff in the show and stuff like that, like that fight literally ends with him like cutting Pre Vizla's head off and then like strolling Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: up to the throne. Like it's so dark. Zach: Yeah, isn't the I dude I the one part about that too is don't you have the Yeah, that that's where Sidious fights Mole and Savage too. Which is like I think Sam Wall: Yeah, which is a crazy fight. Zach: that might be better than the previsla mole fight. So no, I was just confirming that it was in that arc. Sam Wall: Yeah, I think so too. Dude, Palpatine's got some crazy, crazy fights in the Clone Wars. He kinda mocks. Zach: No, he does. He does. That that fight and that episode alone, yeah, that gives you some major points, I'm not gonna lie. I should have probably picked that, but whatever. Alright, number Sam Wall: Got him. Zach: four, now that I have a battle arc off my board, I'm definitely without hesitation going Order sixty six arc, the fives arc, in the beginning of Sam Wall: Come on, dude. Zach: in the beginning of season six. how could I not? It's so good. It's so good. Sam Wall: I'm pissed. Zach: It's like really like Rip Fives first of all, but like he was the closest Sam Wall: rip. Zach: he was the closest of any of the clones to unraveling what was going on before it actually happened. And there's just like so much mystery to it. I think that like the well I forget which cloak what cloak which clone went rogue. What the hell is his name? Tup. Tup Tup's the Tup's his name. Tup goes rogue. Sam Wall: Yeah. RIP tough, dude. Zach: Yeah, they're like, what the hell's going on? Fives is fighting for his brother. And like just going back to Camino, like where it all started to try to unravel the mystery. Like there's something about just Shock T being in Camino and all these like it's just it it's it's amazing. And just his actual death with Captain Rex holding him in his arms at the end of that episode's just that's a that's a heart wrencher for Sam Wall: Plus, Zach: sure. Sam Wall: whenever we get a good droid in Star Wars, it's like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: peak and that arc has a good droid, which I love. Zach: Is it what's his name? a is it a AZ I think his Sam Wall: He's that little surgical droid. I I don't remember what his name is. Zach: name's A Z forte A Z now I need to know. Alright, Sam Wall: Let's see if you can get it right. Quick trivia. Zach: I didn't I think his his name I think his name is his A Z, I think they call him. Sam Wall: See if I can actually find the droid. Hold on, stall. Zach: I could be wrong. Unless I'm thinking of a different droid. No, I think I think that there's there's definitely a name for him. I think I'm thinking of the right droid. Sam Wall: Okay. He's AZI three. Full name Zach: All right. I said A Z Sam Wall: AZI three four five two one one eight nine six two four six four nine eight seven two one three four seven. Zach: Holy crap. That's crazy that they actually gave him that name. But Sam Wall: Ha ha. Zach: I mean A Z is what I said. So I think they call him that in the show. Yeah. All right, bet. Europe. Sam Wall: Yeah, you got it. You got it. I'm gonna give it to you. All right. Number four. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: Pressure's on. You've got one left, I've got two. Zach: Yeah. The last one is gonna be like a fucking toss up. There are definitely like two or three that we are not that we did not pick that it should be on there though. Sam Wall: I'm gonna go with Obi Wan's undercover arc. Zach: That's on my list. It's on my list. That's a good one. Sam Wall: it's it's great. I love good bounty hunter action, which is something Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: that we get from it. we get to see like I don't know, I I feel like it's not often outside of Clone Wars that we get to see like how smart Obi Wan is. And Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: he's like quickly going up the ranks, we get some good Cad Bane action. Zach: Yeah, Cabine's peak in that. It that actually shows you how boss he Sam Wall: Which is which is peak. And then we also get like Zach: is. Sam Wall: yeah. We get Anakin as like a detective Loki, which is sick. Zach: Yeah, and a also Anakin's like a little bit off the rails in that arc, a little bit. Yeah, he's Sam Wall: yeah, it's awesome. I love it. Zach: like kinda like, what the fuck is going on? also Rakko Hardeen, kind of underrated character, cool ass character. Sam Wall: Yeah. Rako Hardeen is so sick, bro. Zach: Also, like we give we don't give Star Wars enough credit for just coming up with cool names. Like you're gonna name a bounty hunter Rakko Hardine, that's sick. Like a part of that whole circle. Sam Wall: Yeah, that's tough. It's a good name. Zach: The whole circle actually, Rakahardine, Embo, Cad Bane, Aura Singh, all fire, all cool. Sam Wall: Yeah. Aura sing is crazy. Zach: No it is, it's sick. We need another minifig of her. She only has one, but okay. I need like five seconds to think of what I'm gonna do. I have three that I could do. I have three. Sam Wall: I'm in between two for my last one that I can't decide on, which might be in your three. Zach: I have a feeling that if I pick this one, you have one left that you can pick. there's one that people would say is top five that is not in my top five for sure. But I'm gonna go with the Bad Batch Arc. I'll go with the Bad Batch Ark. Cause I'm Sam Wall: Okay. Zach: I'm a hu first of all, I'm a huge Bad Batch fan. I also have the Havoc Marauder right there. But yeah, I just love the Bad Batch. I love their introduction. The theme song when they come in is awesome. And also just like the whole like saving echo thing and then him becoming a part of the Bad Batch because he fits in more with the Bad Batch than he does with the 501st because of the way he thinks is is a real that's really good writing in my opinion. And it was also there's all out warfare like throughout that entire arc, which is awesome. There's also some of the coolest like Bad Batch moments. It just shows off like how cool their expertise and their skills are. Like when Crosshair puts all Sam Wall: Yeah, they just mog everybody, bro. Zach: Yeah, when Crosshair puts all those like deflectors across the tunnel and then just like snipes and it just hits all the droids going down the tunnel. It's so sick. I love that. Love Sam Wall: Yeah, it's wild. Zach: that part. That part's awesome. Sam Wall: Okay. Number five. I'm still in between my two 'cause I d Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: actually didn't have the Bad Batch Ark. but Zach: wow. We can do honorable mentions after this too. That that could work too. Sam Wall: I'm just trying to decide if I want to do like importance or like personal enjoyment. Zach: Mm. Sam Wall: I think I'm gonna go with the mortis arc. Zach: See, that was the one I was talking about. That's probably not in my top five, but a lot of people would put in their top five. That's what exactly what I was referring to. Yeah. Sam Wall: Yeah. I mean personal enjoyment, like it's not one that I'm always just like, my god, I have to go to the next episode, like right now. Like Zach: Uh-huh. Sam Wall: but as far as like the grander scale of Star Wars, the whole time you're watching it, you're just like, my gosh, like what's happening right now? Zach: Yeah, like the daughter, the son, like Qui Gon shows up for the first time. There's a lot going on. Sam Wall: Yeah. and I remember watching it the day it it came out on Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: on TV, like and just being like Confused, but also like this is sick. Zach: Yeah, well I have good news for you if you like the mortise arc. What are you gonna what do you think I'm gonna say? Sam Wall: You should watch Ahsoka. Zach: No, it's gonna be heavily in Ahsoka season two though. Sam Wall: Same thing, bro. It's the same thing, dude. What's your honorable mention, Zach: Yeah, but you're you're gonna watch it anyway, so Sam Wall: bro? Go ahead. Zach: Now let's get all right, we'll do let's do two honorable mentions. We won't talk about them as much, but I'll I'm gonna take the forced ghost arc as an honorable mention, Yoda. Yeah, I'll take Sam Wall: That's a good honorable mention. Yeah. Zach: that. Sam Wall: my honorable mention I'm gonna say the Trandocean Mark. Ark. Not Mark. What am I talking about? Yeah. Zach: That is a good one. That's a good one. Sam Wall: It's like very like Predator. It's crazy. Yeah. Zach: Yeah, for sure. All right, let's just rattle off and talk about a few that we didn't get on our boards. Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: Citadel Arc. Citadel Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: Ark I don't feel like is talked about a ton. That's a really cool arc and Evan Peel loses it in that not loses it, but he dies in that and that's kind of a sad death, not gonna lie. Sam Wall: one episode arc, but one of my favorite episodes, the layer of grievous arc peak. Zach: Yeah, that is sick. I think that's actually a part of like a the new Gunray arc technically, but it is it is like that whole arc Sam Wall: Maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zach: is pretty underrated, honestly. I have I have two arcs from season one in my list, and there were the Malevolence arc, which I just love the malevolence, and Sam Wall: Mm. That's a good one. Zach: like Grievous being at the helm, and the Ryloth arc. The Ryloth arc is really good in the at the Sam Wall: Ryloth Archisek. Zach: at the end of season one. the Onderon arc. Sam Wall: I mean, as a kid, even though it's not like one of the best, I I did love the Zillow Beast arc. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's really good. Zach: Mm-hmm. Well, that's on my list too. No, it's it's it's good. It's a good arc. the the only other two that I had that we didn't mention are the water arc. I d people don't love the water arc. I think it's sick. underwater Sam Wall: Yeah, I don't love it. Zach: warfare is awesome. I don't know. I just love it. I wish we got like more kit fisto 2D style clone wars when he goes to help the Monkala and just is Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: an absolute wrecking ball. and then the last one that I had that we did not mention is the Onderon arc, in the beginning of season five, I think, which Sam Wall: Yeah. Yeah. Zach: is saw Guerreras start to learning how to be guerrilla warfare tactic guy. And probably honestly is the reason that he started to go extremist rebellion because of learning all that stuff. So that was cool. And then he gets to watch his sister die right in front of him, and that definitely didn't help his extremist mentality. Sam Wall: Bro, am I crazy? How did I never realize that that was Saga? Zach: Yeah, no, Anderon literally it's like his home planet and and there's like a separatist war. Sam Wall: I I literally just I never put together that that's him. Zach: Yeah, dude, there's a separatist war on his planet. They're learning how to become like kind of like tacticians with guerrilla warfare. Sam Wall: Well, I know that arc. I I literally watched that arc it had to be in the past year, like maybe a few Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: months ago. Wow, I can't believe I never realized that. Yeah. Zach: Yeah, and then his si his sister dies, but that's like a big like point for him to be like, Holy fuck, I hate you know, I hate I'm a rebel, like I'm a rebel at heart. Like that's how he became such an extremist part of it. Sam Wall: I wish I had put that together because then watching Rogue One in the theater would have just been insane. I would have been like, Yo, that's him. Zach: Well, dude, I think Saga's arc is I think if you watch that arc and then you watch his arc in Rebels, he becomes more extreme and then you watch him in Andor and then Rogue One. It's a pretty complete, like obviously you don't get filled in with everything, but it's a pretty complete, like, I would say, just storyline. Like more and more happens to him. You can see him become radicalized over time. It's cool. Sam Wall: Yeah. All right, y'all. we're gonna do a second draft of Marvel or not Marvel, superhero fight scenes over on the Patreon. so make sure that you check that out. And we will see you guys on Friday. Zach: Let's go. Like, Sam Wall: Alright, see ya. Zach: comment, subscribe. Sam Wall: Like, comment, subscribe. And comment who won. Zach: Let's go. Sam Wall: Alright.
