Sam Wall: Welcome back to the topic. I'm Sam. Zach: I'm Zack. Sam Wall: And we're back at it with episode fourteen. Everybody give it up. Zach: Yeah, not there. Sam Wall: So we've got another Friday episode here, which obviously means it's game day. so we're playing Peaker Week today, third Friday in a row. the first week, I came up with the peaker week takes. Second week, Zach came up with the peaker week takes. This week, you guys came up with the peaker week takes. I posted a poll on my er, I posted like a question board on my Instagram. You guys gave me all of your best takes. So we're gonna go through some of them. We're gonna say, not just whether the take is peak or weak, but whether you are peak or whether you are weak. And Zach: No hard feelings. I'm not, I'm not holding back. So how many do we get? Or how many did you get? Sam Wall: all hard feelings. All hard feelings. I mean, I'm gonna be waiting through well over a hundred responses. So and I posted it like an hour ago. So we're gonna people have thoughts. Zach: What if we just do a double episode this week of two peaker weeks split up if we have that many? That's crazy. Sam Wall: Yeah, okay. So you guys will have it on Friday and then you will also have it continued on on Monday. Zach: I feel like that makes most sense 'cause this is the first time we're doing fan peaker weeks too. Sam Wall: Yeah, for sure. I agree. Actu yeah. Yeah, Friday and Monday. So tune in for both, I guess. And then yeah, other thing, we've got the Patreon new episode every Wednesday. This Wednesday we're actually posting an old Patreon episode of us reacting to a bunch of scenes that we were showing each other that just never got posted because I broke my knee and it slipped through the cracks. So hopefully you guys enjoy that. Zach: Yeah, it's fun. Sam Wall: it's a fun episode. rewatching it was super fun to edit it because it took some editing. but yeah, we're excited to do it. Okay, let's get into it. Are you ready, Zach? Okay. Zach: I'm ready. Let's get it. Sam Wall: Starting off strong, this one's actually my take, so you already know that I'm saying peak. But Zach: Okay. Sam Wall: starting off with my take, Biddy Bliss is single-handedly bringing back the Star Wars hype. Zach: Peak. I've never seen I've never seen this much chatter around anything in Star Wars since I don't know. It's been a while. Actually, Biddy Blaze back to back with Battlefront 3 developments is like really, really, really rocking the Star Wars world. Sam Wall: And I mean fans have been saying, I mean, I've been saying, I don't know if you've been saying, but I feel like we've been saying for years, like if you just do Battlefront 3, it'll bring you back. Cause like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: the stories of the Battlefront games have been awesome. They're iconic games. And like people people fiend for Star Wars games, because they're always electric. Zach: There's also this Sam Wall: But who would have thought that a racing Star Wars game would have destroyed on the internet? Who would have thought? Zach: Alright, let's be honest though. I bought the game. I've probably have 15 hours on it already. It's a fucking banger. It is so unbelievably fun. It's the mechanics are elite, the sense of speed is elite, the characters are elite, the campaigns are elite, everything about it. It is so much fun. And I honestly can see why it's as popular as it is. Sam Wall: Mm. All Zach: So good. Sam Wall: right. Zach: And you should get it. Sam Wall: Take number two. You're gonna like this one. Zach: All right. Sam Wall: The Acolyte is a great show. I really enjoyed it and mad that they aren't making more seasons. Zach: No, it's a weak take. I'm sorry, it's a weak take Sam Wall: Weak take. Absolutely a weak take. Zach: because I am you're the I you're talking to the most open minded Star Wars fan ever. Like I have a video coming out of me glazing the Force Awakens. Like I have literally done everything to defend everything Star Wars has done just so we keep getting good content. The accolade is just not good. It's just not good. There's okay Sam Wall: Well and Zach: moments, but it's not good. Sam Wall: It's got a couple good fight scenes, but like if you're actually like thinking of it like as a Star Wars show, it's like almost a hard watch. And I will say Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: this, I'm not gonna say how I feel about it because I'm gonna save it to talk to Zach about later. But I have one episode left of Ahsoka season one. And Zach: Okay. Sam Wall: no matter what people feel about Ahsoka, that show looks so gray and so colorless and like Like some of the costuming is a little bit wonky, which seems like Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: something they've sorted out for season two, but like I feel like that's like why would you put so much effort into making something like Acolyte look so awesome and then like bomb on Ahsoka? It's just crazy to me. It's crazy. Zach: No, I I agree. And also like there's like cool premises, like the fact that Yoda appears at the end, like that could have been cool. The fact that it takes place a hundred years before the Phantom Menace, you're tapping into a timeline that is basically unused and has a lot of potential. And then also Chimere's a sick, sick villain, but he's like ridiculously powerful and we don't know why. And then there's rumors or theories about him being under Darth Plagueis. Like that's cool, but we don't know anything about it. Sam Wall: Yeah, I totally agree. Zach: So yeah. Sam Wall: Okay. Another take. They made Thanos in the MCU way too powerful. Scarlet Witch easily could have killed him. Zach: From the power scaling I've heard in Marvel comics, I'd probably say peak. Sam Wall: In my in my cause it is specifically talking about like in the MCU. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: I think the power scaling is so inconsistent for Thanos in the N MCU. Like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: Infinity War Thanos, way different than Endgame Thanos. Like completely different. Especially apparently the Russos said endgame with Fat Thor, like Fat Thor is peak Thor in power is what they said, which makes no sense to Zach: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Sam Wall: me. And so the power scaling is just really, really weird and feels really inconsistent. But I would Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: say I don't think they made him too powerful. and I I think you're underestimating that he has like a whole army in the scene where Scarlet Witch actually approaches him. So Zach: That's true. I just thought that like s from what I heard, I haven't read any Scarlet Witch comics, but from what I've hear heard, it's like Scarlet Witch gets talked about as like one of the most powerful like superheroes of all time. So when I hear that conversation, I'm like Sam Wall: Attack of the Clones is the best Star Wars movie. Zach: I'm gonna say weak, but I don't hate it. I'll get behind the agenda. No, no, no. No, weak Sam Wall: No way dude. No way. He's gotta be joking. He's gotta be joking. Zach: disagree. It's a weak take, but I respect the agenda for sure. Like I would support that. Sam Wall: Okay, bro. You say so. Zach: I'll support Attack of the Clones. You're not gonna see me online hating on Attack of the Clones, so Sam Wall: Yeah, I hate sand. Okay. This is the best Star Wars watch order. Four, five, rogue one, one, two, three, six. I think that's honestly Zach: Weak. Sam Wall: a very bad wash order. Zach: It's bad. And I've seen so many people talk about that being the watch order. If you're going to do that, I this is my most liked talking video of all time is how to watch Star Wars. So I don't know if it's because people agreed with the way that I laid it out or if it's just controversial and it and it whatever people were interested. I said if you're gonna do it like that, watch a new hope first because you have to watch a new hope first. Like you have to. In my opinion, if you watch anything before a new hope, it's gonna ruin your perception of Star Wars. Then you could go back and watch Andor and Rogue One to see what it was like leading up to a New Hope. From there, I recommended a New Hope rewatch right into Empire, right into return. I think that gives you the full scope of how the Empire came to be. And then it brings you right through the original trilogy. It's a cohesive story and it ends, you know, it ends in a very cohesive way as well. Sam Wall: I also don't know if this is a hot take, but I think when you treat Rogue One as if it's like a standalone movie. Like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: it's just not. And I don't think peop Zach: No, it's not. Sam Wall: people can enjoy it if they're not like attached to the story of Star Wars as a whole. Like Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: I think if you go four or five into Rogue One, it's gonna kill momentum. Kill momentum. Zach: Yeah, I think you at least have to watch four before you watch Rogue One because you just won't know why you like Rogue One. Or it won't mean as much. Sam Wall: Totally agree. Okay. Marvel stopped being good after Endgame. I'm going to say weak purely because of the wording. Cause I don't think it's like stopped being good. Like the like we've gotten good stuff post end game. Loki Zach: Yeah, I'll say weak. Sam Wall: is good. Thunderbolts was good. I enjoyed Fantastic Four. I thought that that was pretty good. Zach: I I like I even don't mind Brave New World. I liked Fantastic Four. I thought that what was the other show? There was something else that came Guardian Street is good. I like Guardian Street. Sam Wall: I will you change you change one word. If you say Marvel stopped being as good after Endgame, I would agree. Like one hundred percent. There's a quality dip, but you know. Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, a hundred percent. However, I think the X Men are awesome. And I think that like more implications with Spider Man in Secret Wars sounds awesome too. So like if Brand New Day and all Brand New Day did come out as well. But like if all this shit starts going in the right direction and these movies hit like they should, we can have a conversation about it coming back to that level, I think. Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. Okay. Both of us are not exactly qualified to answer this, but we're going to anyways. Zach: I'm qualified. Sam Wall: DC has the best comics, Marvel has the best movies. Zach: I'm not qualified. Okay, wait. Sam Wall: From what? Zach: Actually, I've only read one DC comic, so all right. Sam Wall: Yeah. From from what I've read, I have enjoyed the DC comics more than I've enjoyed the Marvel comics. Zach: I'll say the same. I think the long Halloween and I think Absolute Batman will be better than X-Men Dark Phoenix, even though it's really good. Sam Wall: And obviously Marvel movies are better than D C movies, so unless it's like a separated Batman Zach: For now. For now. Sam Wall: movie. Zach: Bro, Clayface's reviews are off the fucking charts right now. So I don't know, but Sam Wall: I know, it's crazy. It's crazy. Zach: if they continue Okay, I'm not gonna get into this right now. Keep going. Sam Wall: Okay. This take I need to shout out the person because I think it's such an egregious take. This is from our friend Caden Love, who's an upcoming author. Zach: Yes. Yeah. Sam Wall: And he says, The Joker is the lamest villain ever and should be discontinued. Batman has so many better ones. Zach: Yeah, week. Sam Wall: S I think that's so weak. Zach: I can't possibly watch the dark night and say that sentence. There's just no way. Sam Wall: Yeah. Has he been like slightly overdone? Maybe. Maybe. But like saying he should be discontinued I think is an egregious take. Crazy take. Zach: Yeah, no, I agree. I like I like other Batman villains in his Rogues Gallery probably a little bit better. I think from what I've seen, I think like Bane's cooler, but I don't know. That's not like Sam Wall: Have you seen the deleted scene from The Batman? Zach: No. Sam Wall: Dude, after we film this episode, I'm showing you that scene. It's Zach: All right. Sam Wall: easily if it had stayed in the movie, it would have been the best scene in the Batman. It's Barry Kyogen is Joker, and he's in jail, and Batman's like asking him questions about the Riddler. It's insane. okay. Zach: Why did it get deleted? Sam Wall: I think they thought that it was too distracting from the actual villain, the Riddler plotline. Zach: Mm-hmm. Sam Wall: And Part of what makes it so great, but also probably why they took it out is Batman brings to him the case file on the Red the Riddler. He's like, Who do you think this guy is? Where do you think he's coming from? And he sets it down in front of the Joker and he Joker looks at it and literally immediately clocks it. He's like, Maybe he's a fan of yours, which is just like perfect Joker. That's perfect Joker. It's Zach: Yeah, yeah, that's sick. Yeah. Sam Wall: so sick. Okay. You probably wouldn't know that one. let's see. Okay, after Doomsday, I think the MCU should take a long break, other than the Miles Morales Spider Man movies. Zach: Week. Sam Wall: Yeah, I I don't think that I agree with that take. I like Zach: I wouldn't agree with that. Sam Wall: I also don't think like taking like a five to ten year hiatus is gonna fix the quality. Like the quality is the problem. Like Zach: No. It's not gonna fix the quality. And I think that honestly, I think that DC is kind of like an example of that right now where they are seemingly getting they're not necessarily just going with the direction they want to go with. It's like some guy comes up to him, says they want to make a body horror movie who's really good at making body horror films, it works for Clayface, they make a Clayface movie. And I think that you're gonna get a high quality film when that type of stuff happens. Like even if it's out of order or doesn't have like a complete process behind it or like a you know looking down the line path. But like Marvel Marvel had good projects mixed in with the bad ones. It doesn't mean that like it's just stopped making projects. I'm always a fan of getting more projects for Star Wars too. Sam Wall: Yeah, and I also think I think the the problem that this comment is or this take is addressing is the wrong problem because I think if you take a break you're addressing superhero fatigue. You're not addressing Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: like how people actually feel about the movies and with the DCU like being up and coming, like the fatigue is going to stay for those that it's already affected. Like it's not gonna Zach: Yeah. Well I'd even Sam Wall: go away if they stop. Zach: I'd even say like coming off of what did everyone just hate with Star Wars? what did they just do that everyone hated? like the accolade w wasn't that file f followed up with something really good? I forget what came out right after it, but like eight no everyone just Sam Wall: Yeah. I think it was Andor season two, was it not? Zach: what? Sam Wall: Wasn't it Andor season two? Zach: I think it was Andor season two. So it's like Andor season two kind of just made everyone just be like, yeah, whatever, Acolyte was whatever. It's not like it Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: was like left a bad taste in her mouth where they couldn't stop talking about it. It was just like Acolyte sucks. End of story. Sam Wall: It was also so bad that everybody just forgot about it. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: Which is crazy. Okay. sorry, some of these takes are wild. Clone Wars has better storytelling than any other show slash most of the movies. Zach: At like Star Wars show? no. Week. Yeah, I was gonna say I can't Sam Wall: Mm. I'm gonna say weak just because I think Andor has better storytelling than Clone Wars does. Zach: put it over Andor for sure not. Sam Wall: But for the most part, I would agree. For the most part I would agree. Zach: When you really re watch the Clone Wars like I just did, it's like you really do realize how what they were cooking up. Like they were really getting into the intricacies of everything and how everything mattered and one thing affected another and it was it yeah, it was really well written for sure. Sam Wall: Okay. Emperor Palpatine was a misunderstood hero and was just trying to prepare the galaxy. Zach: Wait, hold on. I gotta process that one. Emperor Palpatine was a misunderstood Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: hero, just trying to prepare the galaxy. Sam Wall: Weak dude, what are you talking about? That doesn't even make any sense. Zach: Yeah, I was trying to just like process I I was trying to process what that person actually meant by that. Sam Wall: Yeah. Zach: yeah, I agree with you. Sam Wall: Okay. Next. I mean I love this take. The Last Zach: Uh-huh. Sam Wall: Jedi is a good movie. Peak. Zach: You know what? I'm gonna say pass on this because I I just filmed my Force Awakens rescore video. Should be coming out in the next two or three days. But next up is The Last Jedi and I am going to rescore it. So I'll come back at this I'll come back with this take. Right now I'm gonna say it's a decent movie. It's okay. Sam Wall: This next take is from our dear friend Jonah. and it says Bringing Mace Windu back in Star Wars is a stupid idea. Peak. I agree. Let it be. Let it be. People act like Zach: Yeah, I don't think he needs to come back. I think you did that. You pulled that off one time with Maul, and that is literally the only time it should ever be done. Maul's Sam Wall: Yeah. Yeah. Zach: story's compelling, it makes sense, it wasn't too far of a reach. The way they developed him after the fact made it all worth it. I mean, you try to do it with Palpatine, it's literally the worst thing they've ever done. I mean, it's ridiculous. Sam Wall: Yeah, I agree. I have a strong feeling about this next one. Zach: Okay. Sam Wall: Sam Whitwer should be the one in charge of the entire Star Wars franchise. Zach: Peak, peak, yes, peak. Sam Wall: I think weak, honestly. Zach: Peak. Sam Wall: I I think weak because he knows all of his stuff, obviously. He has Zach: Mm. Sam Wall: good takes. I think I only trust him with the animated stuff. Zach: I think he's way too tapped in to not give Star Wars the general direction it needs and is also tapped in enough with the fan base. That's the important part. He's the most tapped in with the fan base to know that, hey, we need to get this director to do this project, or we should not be getting we should not be doing this in this sort of fashion. Sam Wall: Like point guy. I could say that. You might be convincing me with that. Yeah. Zach: Yeah. Like I just think he would be he would be the one like Tom Holland on the set of brand new day being like, yo, I saw what was done in the Odyssey. That's how we have to do things here. Sam Wall: He would make sure that they don't break lore, which is great. I appreciate that about him. Zach: That's the most important part though, honestly. Sam Wall: Yeah. Three MCU movies a year in a season of a T V show is too much. I mean, yeah. Peak. Yeah. Zach: Three is too much too many movies for sure. Sam Wall: we haven't gotten that in years though, I feel like. Like I feel like the last time that happened was like twenty twenty four, like two years ago was the last time that Zach: However. Sam Wall: we got a ton of stuff. Zach: However, I do think one a at least a year is good. Sam Wall: Yeah, I say one movie a year, one season of TV a year. Cause I I also hear that Vision Quest is is crushing right now. Like Zach: I could I could be convinced of two of either and one of the other too. If that Sam Wall: Mm. Zach: makes sense. Like two TV shows in a movie or two movies in a TV show. I'd be I'd be fine with either, honestly. Probably one movie, two TV shows. Cause you could do one animated show, one live action show, one movie. Sam Wall: Yeah. Okay. maybe like three more questions for for Friday. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: this person said Captain America's the most Avenger. I'm I'm assuming they mean Captain America's the best Avenger. Zach: Or or he means like the most Avenger Avenger. I don't know. You know what I mean? Like I don't know if that's what he actually meant. Probably the best, but okay. That's a Sam Wall: Let's go with best because I think that's easier to do as a take. Zach: that's a definite no from me. That's a weak take. Sam Wall: Yeah, I think weak. I think weak. As far as like the original Avengers, Zach: Captain America is the best movies for shore. Sam Wall: yeah. I think as far as original six, I would have to go with Iron Man. Zach: I would say Iron Man Iron Man Thor Hulk. Captain America Black Widow Hawkeye. Sam Wall: 'Cause I think Thor is great in one of his own movies and like pretty good in Avengers. I think Iron Man has the most consistent movies and when he shows up in other people's projects, he kind Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: of mogs them, low key. Zach: I actually think I actually think I remember Black Widow being one of the most badass like Avengers in that first Sam Wall: She's cool. Zach: in those couple phases of the MCU before you know, she didn't make it. Sam Wall: Yeah. this is like a take that we had earlier, but it's intense, so I I'm going to bring it in. The Last Jedi is actually a top three Star Wars film. OG fans just got mad because they've aged out of the franchise. Zach: I'm gonna I'm gonna say weak, however there's a huge caveat there because I actually agree that the stubborn mindset of nothing will touch the original trilogy ever and it is the best thing Star Wars has ever done and it's the only good Star Wars that will ever exist mindset is literally so toxic to the Star Wars community. Like 'cause it's just not true. Sam Wall: Yeah, I totally agree. And I I don't even necessarily think it's like aging out because aging out implies that it's like for kids or whatever. Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: which some of it is and and can be, but I think yeah, the stubborn mindset it has been killing Star Wars for a very long time. And I I also Zach: Dude, it's like, why would you watch with that mindset? I go into everything like i like I hope I enjoy this. Yeah. Sam Wall: Yeah, expect to enjoy. Yeah. This person says, there's no right order to watch Star Wars. You just have to accept being confused. Zach: Definitely weak take. Super weak take. It's not Sam Wall: Super weak take. There's absolutely a right order. Zach: like comics where there's so many things that you just like should just jump in wherever you want, kinda, and figure it out. Like that's what a lot of people who are into comics told me to do with comics. Like Star Wars, there was a clear cut first movie. Like you should watch the first movie first. Sam Wall: Hmm. Yeah. Okay. Iron Man was right in civil war. This will be our last one. Zach: I like Team Ironman, but Honestly don't remember exactly what they were fighting over. Sam Wall: Okay, so basically it's the Sokovia Accords. Zach: Been a while. Sam Wall: And basically what it does is it gives the government kind of a check of like when they actually need the Avengers to show up to like do what they need to do to like get everybody Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: out. Because they just had Sokovia with Age of Ultron where like ha half of like a country dropped back onto the earth and killed Zach: Right. Sam Wall: a bunch of people and Wanda Blew the like let that guy blow up next to a building. Zach: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sam Wall: I honestly I do think Iron Man, like at a bare bones level, is right in Civil War. Like I think the Avengers Zach: Yeah. Sam Wall: do need to be checked because they do cause so much destruction. Like they literally have a giant green guy who's like just supposed to smash stuff, which like is gonna kill people, but also Zach: Well yeah. I think it's the same thing with like X Men ninety seven was kind of the same way. Like like not to switch topics, but it was a similar thing whereas like we like everyone was trying to keep the mutants in check. It's like how much destruction are you gonna cause? Sam Wall: And and something important to remember though is like this is the same government that like sent a nuke at New York when aliens were invading, which is like Zach: Yeah. Yeah. Sam Wall: so it's a corrupt government, but I think on a base level, Iron Man was right. So this has been Zach: I agree. Sam Wall: back to the topic. Thank you for tuning in. Clap it up. We're answering more of these on Monday's episode, so make sure that you tune in and Zach: Kick. Sam Wall: yeah, Patreon Patreon is up and so enjoy that and Zach: Hit a little L C S, little like, comment, subscribe. Sam Wall: heck yeah. Heck yeah. And yeah, comment what you thought of the takes and we'll see you guys on the next one. Alright, bye.
