Vanessa The Vivacious: And we are live in 3, 2, 1... you And welcome everyone to another episode of Vanessa vivacious show for Nessa vivacious files. Every day we are recording a brand new episode to update you on daily life, but also to just get in the practice of recording every day as a podcaster. It's important to record not just your episodes, but also other maybe solo cast just because it just keeps you fresh in your skillset, but also it helps you to let out whatever it is that you need to express. So for me, this is almost like therapy. Free therapy. Well, actually not free because Riverside does cost, but still you get the gist. Either way, welcome wherever this episode finds you, whether it's morning, afternoon or evening. I am so glad that you're here. If you know this show from 2012, you will know that we used to do wacky news, interesting news. And so today in commemoration of the show, which I have to go look up what the actual official start date was, but let's just pretend it's today. Cinco de Mayo. Yeah. Pretty sure it's not. But anyway, I digress. So I'm going to go over some quick news that is good news. I found this website that all they produce and all they put up online is good news. So here we go. In Poland, there was a Polish streamer. We're just going to call him Peter because I can't pronounce the name, but Peter streamed over the internet, did a live stream and raised $68 million for children's cancer. He was online for, I think, eight days straight. or nine, nine days straight, was online live streaming. And then he had several people push out the stream. And so it got attention from athletes and even Coldplay, Coldplay came in, played a set and then money was raised left and right. People were just really embracing this fundraiser that was very impromptu. There was a particular song by a rap artist that was present. And then that rap artist also came in and said, Hey, thank you to the people that donated. And so it was really uplifting to see this young kid. I think he's 18 raise money for cancer just because. he's quoted as saying along with the artists that they asked the media to publicize the fundraiser and awareness that cancer is not a death sentence because that's what they care about. So they care about raising cancer awareness and they just want people to know that. It's not a death sentence and there are lots of developments and therapies and cures that are going on. So it's an exciting time to be alive. And also for those of us who have cancer, it's a difficult journey, but as long as we have our support systems and as long as we kind of keep our positive attitude and just keep moving forward, there's nothing we can't do. So thank you, Peter in Poland, and thank you ⁓ for being an amazing human and showing us how amazing humans behaves. Amazing news. I'm going go ahead and put the link to that story because I chopped it up pretty badly. I'm to put that link in the description of the episode so you can check it out, but also so you can subscribe to that website and their news portal. It's pretty amazing. Moving on. As you know, we have been doing a soft challenge, a challenge with Riverside in which we record on Riverside the entire episode. And then we published from Riverside and that's been going fine. The problems. that we encounter, like to highlight them as well as the good points. I like to highlight them as well. So every episode I try and I don't do it on every single one, but I try to do at least one small area that either I think is awesome or needs improvement. So today's little tutorial tidbit factoid is actually really fun. So enjoy and we'll be right back after this. Welcome to Vanessa Vibesious versus Riverside where we test Riverside platform to the max and see if it can handle our vivaciousness. actually not really, but that sounded really cool. What I'm doing today is that I am going to test out that animated clip thing. Isn't that cool? Have you heard of it? The panda? Yeah. Let's go check it out and see if it actually works. So I'm going to go into the recent episode that I just recorded and we're going to take a look and see if in fact, if I can go ahead and modify a clip and turn it into an animated clip. So let's check this out. I'm heading into the project. that I just recorded this morning. I'm going to go ahead and see and edit, find out where it is that I need to go to access this wonderful tool of animating things. I'm just going to try this guy. Animate. Hey, oh, nice. All I did was literally click that little button there. Okay, so you saw it. We just scrolled down and then I clicked that little drop down and animate. So that's going to be so exciting. Okay. Let's see. No, do we want to be a panda? Don't want to be scary looking. ⁓ let's do this girl and then we'll do a panda. I just, ⁓ my God, that's amazing. Okay. It requires credits. All right. This might take a few minutes, several hours later. Right? Well, it's been a few minutes and I don't see, wait a minute. Wait a hot darn minute. I don't know why it's counting down. I don't know I can't see it yet is it there yet is it there yet we ran into a problem okay and by the way this is the brand new MacBook Pro so there shouldn't be problem but understood understood Riverside understood you're running before you can crawl it's all good I'm just kidding you're not you're doing fine so we will check this out again later and see if maybe it'll work its bugs out but that is the way that you animate a clip. You hover above whatever clip and then you click the drop down and hit animate. So that's pretty freaking amazing. And I you wonder if it does it with these guys too. Magic segments, no. Hooks. You can animate your hooks. Very cool. All right, so a giant flop for the moment. unable to completely animate, we'll again, we'll check it out later and see if it works. Thanks for joining us on Vanessa the vivacious versus Riverside. Vanessa vivacious wins today. Sorry, Riverside. Look forward to seeing if the animation actually works a little later today. Enjoy the show guys back to Vanessa the vivacious files and welcome back to Vanessa the vivacious files. I hope that you enjoyed that little tidbit. It is so much fun when you can play around with Riverside in addition to making your content and then pushing it out on just one platform. So thank you, Riverside for being awesome. And thank you for letting me challenge you and also say things that, you know, sometimes need improvement. So I appreciate the openness and the willingness to work with me on this. Now I'm not even sure if Riverside is really watching or listening, but I found that sometimes things that I comment on are fixed really quickly. So somebody's listening out there. There's a, there's a Riverside angel somewhere anyway. So I also, utilize this podcast to go over things that happened recently and just kind of discuss them. And some people are interested in it and I hope that you are too, but most importantly, I find that working very hard on a daily basis and being creative is, is very interesting in the sense that it's a very lonely activity, but also if you don't have sponsors, if you don't have commercial partners, then you're not really bringing any revenue in, but you're working like 10 times as hard to put out the content because you love it. You're passionate about it. It's what you want to do, but you you're not getting funded quite yet. Being in that in-between spot is kind of rough, but it's not forever. It's just temporary. I've set aside at least one day a week and it'll probably become two days a week. We're actually seek out sponsors. and also send out letters to people that would be potential sponsors, potential donors. So that way I could gather the funding needed to produce this show, also add another editor, but then take it international. I would love to interview humanity outside of America and really embrace humanity and just put. what everyone has to say on display for the world to see because in listening to each other's experiences and absorbing them, we become better humans, more empathetic, more compassionate, and that humanity 2.0. So I'm really looking forward to getting sponsors. Sponsors, if you're out there, people, if you know sponsors that would be applicable, send me their info or vice versa. You can find. Our podcast on humanity pod.org. say that again, humanity pod.org. even have on the top, says sponsor humanity. When you click on that, there's a nice info page as well as a document. And when you click that document, it'll show you the tier levels in addition to a link where you can go through PayPal and make that payment. And after which you'll get an invoice. So I would really love to have sponsors. And if you know of any, please send them my way vice versa. It is our mission to go international and to add more to the team so that way we can have a greater impact on the world and create that humanity 2.0. So thank you for listening to that plug. Now I would say on the other end of it, I don't often talk about myself a lot enough. So when I get interviewed and I'm asked about what, what about you tell me about yourself? I tend to not sell myself enough. And that can sometimes have a little bit of effect on the whole sponsorship journey. But I can tell you that during the course of being interviewed, I tend to really shine and bring out so much yet. The sponsors are not there yet. So sponsors wake up, come on over. I would love to have you. We'll have a sandwich, know, bada bing, bada boom. Anyway, other recent events that happened. Super cool. I found a film festival when I was in San Antonio for about a week. I was over there visiting family and, know, doing my thing. And I had found this film festival that's really cool, had like a 48 hour deadline from when I saw it. And of course, naturally I was like, we should totally do this. And so I started working on this film that I had previously filmed. And I knew that I could probably cut it and maybe gather some additional footage with the Hail Mary and then make that into a documentary. And so I reached out to them to ask if the deadline was at 12 or 1 a.m. that day or next day or what the deal was. And then I also sent them my links. I figured, why not? said, you know, I'm in town for this week. Let's have a meeting and see whatever way I can help you out with your festival. And I sent them my media kit as well as the link to, you know, just socials that's where my work is. So then I get this email back saying, hey, thanks so much. The deadline is actually being extended until May 15th. And I'm like, yeah. And then here's the kicker. They were like, hey, we are so impressed with your background that we want you to be a judge. What? Like, seriously, I was like, heck. Yes, I would love to be a judge. So ⁓ I'm a judge for the San Antonio Film Festival. Like what? That's amazing. It's amazing. I'm excited. They're excited. We're all excited. And I can't wait to do some interviews from the San Antonio Film Festival. And I hope that you guys will support. Go over to their website, follow them on Instagram. I believe it's SA Film Fest and find their website, follow them, support them. If you're in San Antonio, head on over there because they're still looking for volunteers, I believe, and let them know Vanessa, the Vibascia sent you. And yeah, I'm super excited. So more to come on that. Also more to come on the film that I'm submitting to. It's, it's pretty good, but I still got to work on it. Got to work on it. And actually I think I have 10 days, so I really need to work on it. In addition to that, I was supposed to have dental surgery and clearly I did not have it yet. ⁓ something came up and needed the funds instead. And so no dental surgery for me at this time. Hopefully it'll happen. next and that will be great because it was really going to be life-changing. For those of you that don't know, there are a few tees of mine that had some unfortunate incidents while I was interviewing in the field back when I was doing field work and I wasn't able to fix them at the time and so that led to eventually me just, you know, losing them and so there's a few problem areas that I need to attend to and it sucks because when I talk to people that's usually all they look at and it pisses me off because I have so much more to say. yet they're staring at my mouth and I'm just so upset. Like I need to wear a sign that says stare at my mouth again and I'll cut you. I'm kidding. No, what I need to do is just like wear a mask that says quit staring at my mouth. I don't know. I don't know. But anyway, I digress again. So yeah, dental surgery canceled and it'll get rescheduled. I'm still waiting to find out if I'm moving or not. I am living in Airbnbs as you see here's a new one. and hotels and that's been really fun because when I was on the road traveling as a field reporter, journalist, visual journalist, I was on the road all the time and I loved it. I love traveling and staying in random ass hotels and Airbnbs. really do. And so this is fine to me, but I'm really curious on if I'm moving and yeah, so more to come on that. If I don't, it'll be very sad, but I will move on. And if I do, it'd be amazing and I will do awesome things. You know, I was thinking to myself the other day and I thought, okay, if things work out and you know, if things work out, I'll just say that broadly. If things work out, I will do awesome things. If things do not work out, I will still do awesome things. So the bottom line and the common denominator was I will do awesome things. And it doesn't matter where I am or who I'm with. Of course we want the best scenario that we wish for, but if it doesn't happen, then we're going to be okay. And we're going to do awesome things. So. that that was very cool. Very interesting. Speaking of interesting, that moves on to the positives. I've decided to kind of make a list of positives and share this with you. So in addition to all of these random hodgepodge subjects, at the very end of the show, I'd like to list, I'd like to give or provide a list of positives. So here we go. Positives. I'm alive. That's a good one. Just one cancer. I was supposed to have, well, I wasn't supposed to have, but I had a mammogram thing, a second one, cause they found something and then They left me in the, in the waiting room for like three extra hours and forgot that they discharged me. And then they were like, Oh, you're fine. And I'm like, thanks. But I was stuck in the waiting room for three hours. Like what? And they forgot me. Wasn't like they were backed up and sorry about, no, no, no, we discharged you hours ago and we just forgot you were there. Oh, I was a little bit, I was a little bit up, but I'll tell you what though, after I talked to everybody in every witch department, they're going to remember I was there. Just the same. Okay. Living the dream. Not too long ago, but I think that in 2025, I had left my job. It was making me sick, like literally sick. And I was having nightmares and I was angry and depressed and all sorts of feelings. And it felt like I was failing because I wasn't trained enough. And it was just the worst environment ever. And so one day I got angry and said, you know, if I die at my desk, I'm going to be really pissed off because I've had a pretty cool stellar life. Well, I mean, stellar in some moments, but you get the gist. And so I sent my manager an email, cashed out my 401, took my last paychecks and I said, let it ride. And so I started doing my work with podcast and video and my production company full time again in October of 2025. Previous to that, I had a serious burnout and I was not doing any work. ⁓ I think it was May. of 2024 until October 2025. So quite a long time. I, when I quit that job, I was like, no, that's not where I belong. And this is where I belong. This is where I knew I belonged in my heart of hearts. And yes, it's hard. Yes. You know, if you don't have a bunch of money coming in, it's so freaking hard, but you work hard and you just keep going and you do it because you love it and then everything else will come. So, but it also takes part work from you. though, too. It's not just like, if I do the work, someone's going to notice me like that's that might happen, but it doesn't usually happen. You do have to market yourself and you do have to put yourself out there and you have to take up opportunities and whatever places that they are, like judging film festivals and networking and networking. That's a big one. Sometimes we don't have time to network because we're working on the work and it's a lot. But time management is a big deal. And that'll help you helps me sometimes. Sometimes I'm fixated on the work. But above all, I'm fortunate to be living the dream in the sense that I'm not having a regular job right now and I'm literally doing anything I want 24 seven. So that's living the dream to me and tells you how lonely that is. I said this in the beginning, it's pretty lonely because it's literally just me in a giant house and I'm cool with that. But at the same time, sometimes it'd be nice to have someone run through and make me laugh, you know. I'm super excited that I don't have breast cancer. My great aunt died of breast cancer and I didn't understand what death was until that time. So breast cancer always reminds me of her and she was a really nice lady. That's what I remember. She was a real nice lady. so yeah, I'm glad that I don't have that. I just have uterine cancer, still have that. ⁓ I, I have trouble sleeping and I wake up at either two 30, three 30 or four 30. And the other day I was talking to my therapist about this and she was like, ⁓ pretty sure it's attached to something like some kind of trauma. And I was like, yeah, probably. And so she gave me this tool, this YouTube video and said, hey, watch this. It's 10 hours of black screen and it plays music. And I did it and didn't work. So insomnia on me zero. I've always had insomnia my whole life. And according to the therapist, it's because of trauma, which is probable, highly like 99 % probable. And so we're working through that stuff or we will be, and hopefully eventually I'll be able to sleep no problem. But at the current time, ⁓ sometimes I can't sleep after I wake up, which is what it is. And so I come into work and hang out with you guys, or I go work out. Just depends where I am. If there's a gym at the hotel that I'm working out, if there's not, then I'm drinking coffee and I'm working on podcasts or videos or something. What's five. No, it's 617 right now in the morning. And I started recording this around five something, but I hope that you enjoyed this impromptu episode. I know it's been a minute. I was supposed to release this episode on April 30th, but I didn't. I was just exhausted. And so this is kind of like a mashup of April 30th through May 5th. You didn't miss a whole lot. I went to Fiesta when I was at home in San Antonio with my best friend. And I saw my family and that was wonderful. I saw my brother's grave. That was wonderful. I miss him. And my mom is in a tiny little where and she was cremated. So we all have a piece of her and I put her on the gravestone with my brother and took a picture. So that was pretty cool. That's basically it. It rained the whole time. It was very sad. And now I'm back in DFW at a different city at a different house doing the same thing. Lots of video, podcasts, production. If you need production assist in terms of editing, post-production, any production management, any infield journalist work, let me know. I am available for hire. So yeah. Thank you guys for joining us for another episode of Vanessa the Vibacious Show, Vanessa the Vibacious Files, and we will see you tomorrow. I'm going to make it happen. We'll see you tomorrow for a brand new episode. Thanks so much. Above all, join us next time on Vanessa, the vivacious podcast. And don't forget to be by.
