Vanessa The Vivacious: Good morning, afternoon or evening wherever this finds you. Welcome to Vanessa the Vivacious Files where we have been staying in an Airbnb for a week's time doing nothing but creative work. As you've heard in the previous day, I did know said creative work. I actually stayed in bed all day and it was wonderful. And then yesterday I did get to work. Yesterday, I got to work on editing a podcast as well as hosting a podcast, being a guest on another show and then working on video edits for interviews done at the No Kings protest. What I've observed thus far is that it is really easy to get distracted but more so by other people and notifications and requests for your time and energy and and I discovered that that sometimes we have to stop everything and just close the phone and just send a note saying, hey, I'm unavailable and I just need this time. So in the past, I would not have asked for the time. I would have tried to juggle everything that was going on and taking care of everyone, being there for everyone and succeeding admirably. But in this particular time, it is a brand new chapter and it is time to take care of oneself. And so That being said, I have taken this time in the Airbnb to do my work and to focus on the work, but then also to enrich myself by reading books, by listening to motivational speeches and other perspectives than my own. So along with my little dog, my trusty sidekick, Elizabeth Taylor, I've been working, I have been growing or starting to grow and laying down the foundations for a very successful and creative future. I found that in taking time for myself and making it a priority to just focus on what's at hand, the task at hand, I've been able to reduce stress a little bit. And that has been exciting. So if you are typically highly stressed, you understand that you stay in a heightened state of stress for some time, even after those things that stress you are out of your life. And so then begins the work to de-stress, but how do you come down from that? I've talked to a few people about it and the consensus is, is that you simply just put one foot in front of the other and you let yourself feel the stress, but then you also recognize as it's coming down. And for myself, when I took that day off and I did nothing, I understood that that was the stress starting to fall off. That was the stress fragmenting and saying, hey, I'm no longer part of your life and so I'm going to start to fall off.
