Vanessa The Vivacious: Good morning, afternoon or evening wherever this episode finds you. Today's date is April 18th, 2026. This is Vanessa Vivacious on Vanessa Vivacious Show, Vivacious Files. As you know, we've been recording every single day just about for roughly not a month, but maybe like two weeks. But the deal is we're recording every day because recording is like eating an apple a day. And if you do it every day, then you may not have to go to the dentist, which I don't think it's actually true, but it's what we were told. So I'm just going to go with it. Now I have been recording also observations on Riverside and I've been testing the platform because initially I had issued a soft challenge having to do with testing the platform for a full length episode. So basically Riverside indicates that you can in fact go into Riverside and produce an entire episode with it, which is in fact true. There are just some caveats where you want to import footage for intro and outro. maybe some static visual cards if you don't want to use video, but you want to have a audio file look like a video podcast. So lots of ways to, to, to get creative. And so the item that I'm focusing on today is actually captions. So while the captions in Riverside are very good, they're very, very good. In fact, there were times where I would be working in premiere and then I would just upload into ⁓ Riverside because Riverside did such a great job with their captions and then I'd export it back So very funny, but now that Riverside is getting a lot more functionality I can just do a lot pretty much everything now inside Riverside. So I Still have an issue though my issue which we will tackle here in a second I'm going to switch on over to Vanessa vivacious versus Riverside and then we'll take a look at that and come right back Now that we've looked at that, let's talk about episodes. So I have another problem with Riverside, which I'm so sad about because I was trying to upload an episode yesterday and it just did not work. I literally exported it six times and it failed six times. So it could have been a file issue. Who knows, but I'm very sad because we missed a whole episode day because of Riverside. So I'm very sad about that. Now, could I have probably found the files and sent it to another platform and then exported it and put it out on my own? Yes. Did I want to? No, because I've kind of gotten used to Riverside, you know, having files for me. So I need to make sure I have a backup. That being said, I'm going to read you some information that I had written the other day or had spoken on this episode that would not would not export because some of it was really awesome. So I wanted to talk about yesterday. The fact that I've been traveling in between residences and that even though I technically have been doing it since March 25th, for some reason I, I referenced April 4th. It's hilarious. And I don't know why, but March 25th was when it all started. I also talked about working on a really important episode for humanity 2.0 podcast, my flagship show. And I interviewed Vanna White's brother, Chip White. And he's amazing. He actually has a podcast called, ⁓ relatively famous where he interviews famous people. Famous people's relatives, relatives of famous people. And so he's a great guy. He's a great guy with a fascinating history and it was a wonderful interview. And we recorded it inside a comic book store in San Antonio at the time. It was amazing. Met him at Podfest. I love Podfest, shout out Podfest. And it was just wonderful. So I worked really hard on that and I was really proud that I finished it. I worked all day, all day. And then the day before as well because I really wanted to get it right. So I really worked hard on that one. Speaking of podcasting, podcasting is a passion of mine. I've been doing it since 2012. I had an interview with a girl the other day on, I don't know, the day before yesterday, and I was asked for questions and answers, wisdoms on podcasting. And so when I was talking to her and answering these questions, I realized that I was learning from myself at the same time. And that was kind of inspiring. was inspiring to hear things come out of my mouth that I was like, ⁓ yeah, that's a great idea. And now I can go incorporate them as well, but it's just really interesting to hear yourself say something. And then also on top of that, be like, okay, where did that come from? That's actually really smart. There is something I saw somewhere. I know that means nothing to you, but there was something that I saw where they said that whenever it happens that you have an idea or you say something and it. doesn't feel like it came from you at all that it's, it's, it's as though there's like another you that's talking to you. can't remember exactly what it is, but it's really fascinating because it was saying like, it's like this elevated part of you that exists within you and it knows more than you do. so whenever you say something or think something that you're like, Whoa, that's genius. Where'd that come from? It's actually that elevated part of you, which is really interesting. I wish, I wish I could tell you more. Maybe I'll research it and tell you more tomorrow or later on this week. So anyway. I enjoyed being on this young ladies podcast and it was really amazing. I think that she has such a great future ahead. So favor shout out to you. ⁓ I also noted yesterday that when we take a moment and stop and think clearly before we answer that sometimes we're able to really put our thoughts together and make an impact on what we say as podcasters. I also referenced starting in 2012, having a variety of experiences and a lot of stories as well. but I'll never forget where I came from, where I started, what I started with, which was next to nothing. I carry it all with me all the time. Has a good luck charm. I carry this little stick microphone. My very, very first one has a three and a half Jack at the end. I carry it everywhere because it's like a memory. a, it's a, it's, it's something that, symbolizes where I came from, which was nothing. Now it's so funny because when I, when the girl asked me, what did she ask me? She said something to the effect of like, How did you get started? Something like that. But I chose to share that I got started from like literally nothing. I mean, now I have computers, I have a mixer, I have really bad ass microphones. I have a giant ass green screen. And yes, I'm cursing. I really don't care this morning because I'm kind of mad. So I have a lot of equipment now, various things, and I'm still acquiring more because I love equipment. And so I told her, you know, I literally started from nothing. started, was dirt, ass poor, dirt, ass, but that I'm dirt poor. And I had this tiny little microphone that I can't even remember where I bought it from. And that was it. I had my desktop computer that was so old. I think I had it since the nineties or maybe like early two thousands. I don't know. Early two thousands. And this, this tiny little Q-tip looking microphone. that you plug into a desktop and it was really hard to record. So yeah, I have episodes, like kind of like an archive. If you go way back and even kind of mixed in because they're kind of out of order, I had to rerecord some, but you'll hear the quality and you'll be like, ⁓ my goodness. So it's fun to explore. But my point was that I brought up the fact that I started off with absolutely nothing and that I, even with video, I was absolutely poor and had nothing. I used to utilize Windows Movie Maker to even make little visual things. And there was an audio program on Microsoft at the time. This is, you know, in the early 2000s. And so I had nothing, but I used whatever I did have to manipulate and create things that I wanted to to be expressive. And I think that was a big deal because, oh, hi, Elizabeth. Elizabeth says hi. So I think it's important to remember that You can do anything with nothing. You really can't. In this day and age, you really just need your phone or you can have someone else record you. You know, there are so many options on how to create something. The thing is, how bad do you want to create it? And if you want it bad enough, then you'll find a way to do it. If you don't have a phone, someone else does. Someone else, you know, does. If you don't have a camera, someone else, you know, does. Or you can go to library or go to a nearby university or college. enroll in a class, you can use those cameras. There are so many options. If you want it, there are so many options. And I think that's the key is that if you want it bad enough, then you're going to make it happen. Also, I talked about practicing every day and hitting record every day if you can, just because the more that you record, the more that you create and turn out episodes, whether they're amazing or not, that's experience that you can pack on and just really, really thrive from. I talked about dogs. Why did I talk about dogs? I'm not 100 % sure. ⁓ I talked about dogs at the dog park and how I've been taking my dog to the dog park. And it's like, I put her down, she runs and tries to pick fights and nips at other dogs, cause she's not socialized, not quite. Well, no, she's not. And then she runs back to me like mommy, mommy. And then she tries to crawl up my arm and cause she's overwhelmed. So it's just really funny to watch her. We have like this butch cats to the Sundance kid thing going on and I really love my little doggy. I honestly, I don't know why I brought that up yesterday. So. I'm just going to read you some additional. ⁓ okay. ⁓ Something interesting. If you're a book reader, I recently picked up Stephen King's on writing. It's his memoir on writing, but it's not even really a memoir. It's writings about his experience while writing his life experiences and then how he that contributed to his writing style. And it's funny because as you read these stories, you kind of see similarities and parallels in between his movies and also his books. So it's really interesting. The minute you start reading it, you don't want to put it down. and I wish I didn't have to because it's good. His stories are adorable. His life stories are adorable. And I never thought I would say that. I never thought I would say Stephen King's life stories are adorable, but they really are. And I don't mean to say this, but it kind of reminds me of David Sedaris and his style of personal writing, but not quite. Not quite the same. the previous day to yesterday when I went to the dog park with my dog, I actually brought my book and I only got to read one story because she's a little terror. So. Yesterday was a really big day for me personally, because it was a landmark decision day in the sense that I was at the end of my 60 day waiting period to finalize my divorce here in the great state of Texas. You have to wait 60 days once you file for divorce. And then once the 61st day comes, you can rush to the courthouse and request your final hearing. Now, what was funny is that when I get to the courthouse and I and I go up to the clerk and I said, I'm here for the big show. And he's like, what? And I said, I'm here to turn in my final paperwork so can get my court date. Sounded more fun when I said I'm here for the big show. And so, he takes the paperwork and says, okay, just call us in two weeks. And I was like, what? I just told like get a court date and he goes, ⁓ well, the judge is really busy. So they're pretty much just like, you know, reviewing them and then contacting if they need anything else. And if they don't, then they will sign off and you'll be good. And I was like, what? Okay. So apparently I don't have to possibly go to court and. In two weeks, I can check in and see if everything's cool. If it is, I am divorced and I get my name back. So it's pretty sweet. ⁓ Now, just kind of like thinking about marriage as a whole, I noted that we don't mean to lose ourselves when we get married, but sometimes that kind of happens. And sometimes we forget a lot about what it's like to be yourself and what it's like to do and for do for yourself. what it's like to do things that you wanted to do all the time or be as creative as possible all the time without needing to have a hard stop because you have something to do with your significant other or somewhere to be and so forth. And I'm excited about this future and the unknown of what's coming next. But ⁓ turning in that paperwork was just a start. Every time I go to that courthouse, I have some feeling of anxiety or relief, just many different feelings. And I promise you, I was filling out the final paperwork yesterday. My hand was so nervous. It was crazy. So my final hearing date will not really happen. It'll just be a phone call, which is kind of funny. And then I don't know what's next after that. I do know kind of, but I'm still waiting to hear on a few things to see what's next. So till then I will just be creating every single day. I will be working on the films that I need to. the one that I was hired for as well, and just working hard every single day. And hopefully, hopefully I can also get some excellent clients or sponsorships to make sure that my burn rate does not increase. So hello, sponsors, people, yeah, clients. I can do a lot. So let's talk. Oh goodness. Now, since this is April 18th, I can just recap yesterday what happened on the 17th. As I said, Riverside, I'm sorry to say that you failed me tremendously because I was trying to publish an episode every day, sir, ma'am, them, people, and I couldn't. So you kind of broke my my rhythm. You broke my mojo. Not really, but anyway, so I'm kind of upset at Riverside right now, but hopefully this pub, this episode will publish if it's because I said that I can't stand the captions process in the video tutorial. That's kind of conspiracy, but I'm pretty sure that's not it. It's probably, probably a corrupted file issue. Now, not a whole lot happened yesterday. It was really more so the courthouse and then just running some errands, hanging out with my dog and then just chilling out. It was a really nice day yesterday. Actually the podcast episode. ⁓ and then I had a car service appointment, which costs so much more than I was supposed to pay, but safety is important. I'm going on a road trip. We are relocating to the next location today, people, today. So as of tomorrow, we are in a whole different city for a week, and that's going to be exciting. We're going to have lots of fun. Maybe we'll bring people onto this show. That would be cool, right? Or else I'll do some in-field interviews and put those clips on the show. Either way, it's going to be a beautiful day traveling today, even though it's raining, lots of good cartoons. So we get to sing in the car, me and Elizabeth, my poor baby Elizabeth in her ears. ⁓ goodness. have a wonderful weekend. However you spend your Saturday, I hope it's creatively. And if you are a podcaster, hit record. Don't even think about it. Just hit record. All right. Talk to you guys later. Have a great rest of your day and don't forget to be vivacious.
