speaker-0: Welcome everybody. Welcome back to Podcasting One-Nerdy. And as you're going to notice, if you've known me from the past, you may know a familiar face who happens to be right next to me for this episode is my sister, is Pony. guys. How's it going? How you guys doing? How you doing? speaker-1: It's been a weird day for sure. I started doing like a little bit of reading and I realized that I have like these moments where I'll be reading something and I'll have to go back and reread the whole paragraph because I'm like, I don't even know what I just read. And that's like, that's literally been my whole day because I've just been so excited for this. speaker-0: been excited to. It's been forever. As I mentioned the last time we had her on actually was under a different umbrella. It was a whole different podcast, a whole different company at that. And we've come a long way and figured like why not kick off early to 2026 with bringing back familiar faces. And we've already brought back Uncle Black. If you guys are familiar with him, he's been on the channel, Never Got Pony. And I'm hoping to do a lot more of this in the future because like we just have such a good time and This is Rollercruiter Talk, guys. So join us, get comfortable, get your drinks, because we got a lot to talk about. The biggest part we're talking about, the biggest thing about this episode is the whole Warner Brothers being bought out yet again. Going to a whole another company, sounds like Paramount's going to get it. Netflix was originally supposed to get it, but Paramount came in the last minute and made a better offer. And how do we feel about that? Because you got the house of Disney that owns Marvel. And they're very much, know, if you want to use political terms, probably very more liberal and like democratic, you should say, like more progressive. And now you've got Paramount, who is getting their hands on Batman and Superman. And they're a lot more conservative, if we're just being truthful. They're a lot more, you know, pro-Trump, pro-administration. And how does that affect our comic book movies? We talked a little bit about this off-camera, Pony, but... I like to dive into this and really get into how we feel about this. Me and my sister actually watched Superman together during Christmas. And was first time she was seeing it, it was my second time. And I want to start by saying, what was your initial impressions of this so far, of the new direction at DC under James Gunn? Did you like what you from Superman? How did you feel with the movie? speaker-1: Yeah, we definitely did. That was so good. think it was a really nice take on it because they were very true to like the origins of comics, like what we know is canon. And then there was also, you can see a little bit of like new wage stuff. Like I liked my... speaker-0: Nicholas Paul Exother. speaker-1: Yes, Lex Luthor, that was my favorite part of, I think, the entire movie because I've seen him in so many different roles. Like, I mean, he was Beast, you know, and then I've also seen him in a couple of other films where I forgot what that movie was called. It was like this diner horror movie thing where he like ends up being one of the victims of this horror movie. I mean, just seeing him in this role, it was so insanely good because it's definitely not who like that actor has played in the past. And I liked that the way that they made, they made you hate him. And like, he's such a lovable character usually, like not Lex Luthor, obviously, but like, you know, the actor, yes. And I absolutely loved the fact that it was so easy to hate him. I was like, ⁓ my God, he did not just say that. Like you can't say that on movies. You can't say that on TV. And like just the depth that he brought to that. And I'm so nervous, like, what are they gonna do at Paramount? are they going to take away, like, all of that? You know, that depths that the character building, the arc that we're, you know, coming into. Like, I'm so nervous that it's just going to turn into something so politically driven, and we're going to lose, like, the trueness of those characters, you know? speaker-0: And that's my biggest worry too. And, you know, I think about James Gunn, who is a polar opposite to what, like, the leaders of Paramount are as far as his political... He's like the most one, most progressive directors, I think, there are. Like, he slaps in the face of that sort of stuff. He totally doesn't agree. If you follow him on Twitter on X, or I used to call it X, because X sounds like something different. But if you follow him on Twitter, like... speaker-1: Yeah, I don't speaker-0: He's very political. doesn't shy away from his beliefs. He's very anti-Trump. He's very anti this administration. And now his bosses are the exact opposite. Like I said, they're pro this administration. They're pro this initiative. They're pro ICE. They're pro all this. And how does somebody like Gunn, if he keeps his job, mesh with that? How do you work for a boss that's totally against everything you believe in? How do you follow those marching orders? speaker-1: It's not just that either. It's also, do you have the backbone to be like, no, this is why this works. Let me keep doing what has been working. know, how do you fight for not only your vision, but also the fans because he's found a way to put his vision, his spin on everything that he's touched and it's worked. mean, there's been a few things that, you know, obviously people are like, ⁓ why'd you do that? But like, for the most part, everything he's done, his whole vision has been great, you know? And I'm gonna be honest, like, I'm actually really stressed out because one of the major movies that I've been so looking forward to is Constantine. I want Constantine too, and I'm thinking, like, if this is gonna be political, if it's going to be, because it's already so, like, faith-based, a lot of religious concepts, you know? Going back to the first movie was, like, speaker-0: Zzzzz speaker-1: you know, Gabriel and you know, Satan and everything that was like Constantine and Constantine too, like I'm just, I'm so, I want that movie, but I'm also worried like what happens if they put like their spin, their current face, their current like views of, you know, what religion should be to them into this instead of letting it be true to what it is, you know? speaker-0: No, I totally see what you're saying. And also like you think about the type of movies that Paramount has got behind. I can't think of the name of the studio right now, but they also own that studio. puts all those like religious movies a couple of times a year. They own, I'm pretty sure they own that and they're big about that. That sort of thing. I also just came out with that Melania Trump movie documentary thing that was under Paramount. speaker-1: flop. speaker-0: ⁓ So you see kind of where their mind is focused on and like, and I think that's what we're talking about is having that. I don't want that in a Batman movie. I don't want that in a Superman movie. I don't want that in a Constantine movie. speaker-1: Was it Muse? Muse Films. Yeah. Yeah, I think that was it. speaker-0: I think so. I don't want that in my superhero movies. speaker-1: No, me neither. That's, I mean... speaker-0: And I think the argument is made to people who do side with Paramount Undo's side with the zero ideology. I think the argument that's been made, and I can already see it in the comment sections, is how is this any different from what Disney does with Marvel? Because they tend to push a lot of progressive stuff. You know, can be TQ and stuff like that. And I would say that you somewhat have a point, because I don't totally agree with that either. I think political views on either side of the equation need to be left out of our movies. speaker-1: Well, and if there is, mean, let's say they do have a reason to do something, you know, LGBTQ, they want to be inclusive. Okay. So break down that storyline of like Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Dive into that. The stories that are already there, that we already know that are already canon, do that instead of changing things that everyone already knows and loves. You know? I mean, there are already situations where they could speaker-0: Let's calm our broken memories down. Yeah, but don't try to tell, don't try to like feed in a message to us or our kids, you know. Don't try to like, you know, and that's what I'm afraid of. And that's how I think it's going to happen is Constantine is going to be a tool to push an agenda. speaker-1: Right, right. And then they're just going to ruin it. that's not because like our generation growing up, we had the first Constantine movie and that was insane. It was one of the best movies I've ever seen. And I still rewatch it to this day. I think I've seen it at least 10 times. It's so good. And ⁓ I want that to be my kids, their generation to be able to have something like that and be like, this was such a great movie. Like it had this big influence on like, you know, Like how I view movies and like what I see as you know a comparison for these other movies and you know Like how well it's written and that sort of thing and I don't want to see them Taking something and completely changing it into you know something that it's not especially especially Constantine but the other side of this is like what about some of the other movies and the shows that they were planning to like try to reboot? those going to be shelved now? Are we actually still going to get them? The shows that they were canceling? Are they not going to cancel them now? Like, is Paramount going to keep those around? speaker-0: I think that it really just depends on what they do with gun. Does he keep his job? Is he able to keep his 10 year plan? And I honestly think if gun stays or goes, there's going be more dependent on gun than paramount. It's just like, going back to what I said, does he feel like he can work with paramount? Is that something he's comfortable with? know, and that's, ⁓ and I think they're going to do anything and they can in their power to want to keep him because not only what he's done already for DC in the little time he's been the head of DC, but as you were alluding to Pony, like, talking about like his time at Marvel, you he did the Guardians movies. He was like, you know, basically the right hand man and like learning under the learning tree of Kevin Feige, the leader of Marvel over there, Disney. And they're, him and Kevin Feige are really good friends and he considers Kevin Feige basically a mentor and he brought all that knowledge and brought it over to DC, brought it all over to Warner Brothers. And I think Paramount is not gonna wanna let that go, you know, but it's a question on if. Does Gundam want to do it? speaker-1: That's not just that either. mean, they could try to force it through the contracts, you know, adding it into like their purchasing agreements and stuff, like keeping his contract. And then could that potentially lock him in to that same contract, you know, if they just continue it? I don't know exactly how that works, but you know how people can like, you know, grandfather certain things in. And like, are they going to attempt to do that? speaker-0: Yeah, but then at that point, do you have a gun that's kind of coasting, right? It's of like the planet quitting at that point, right? speaker-1: Right. What is it? Buy it quitting? it quitting. speaker-0: By quitting. quitting. I can see that being, he's like, yeah, I'm like, I had all these plans, but I already don't give a shit. You know, like type of, you know. speaker-1: Yeah, and when you have someone who loses that drive, that passion, you're left with nothing. know, was honestly, I'm going to tell you, I was really looking forward to the lanterns. I really wanted to see it, you know, a better version of Hal Jordan, not the, the Ryan Reynolds version. That was terrible. That was. speaker-0: No, I'm excited for lanterns too. People are like dogging it. Did you see the trailer? speaker-1: I haven't seen the trailer yet, honestly, because it's still not solidified that it's for sure happening. So I don't want to get my hopes up and get so excited. Like, I don't know, I'm that person who's like, I really like this show. Everyone's talking about it. It's been the first season. I'm not starting it yet. You see if it gets picked up for another season, then I'll watch it because I'm the kind of person like I get emotionally invested in these shows. So when they end like, ⁓ it just breaks me like when ended I was so sad. Oh my gosh. That was so it was so good. I felt like they were finally leading up to you know, this really good story that they could start and then nothing. It was the end. speaker-0: Yeah. And I feel like they came out with the first trailer, but I see what you're saying. Like with Paramount, with everything being at limbo right now, I think it's to come out and tangibly like, I want to say like August, September, something like that. HBO Max, but. speaker-1: And that's the thing you also have to watch out because HBL Max has been in talks trying to buy out Paramount as well. So then it could potentially be you B gets bought out by Paramount that gets bought out by HBL Max. And then what are we doing? speaker-0: And I see like, I see like Paramount and HPL Max becoming one big service similar to what Disney did with Hulu, you know, in Disney Plus, where Hulu is being phased out and it's this, Hulu is just a tab on Disney Plus now. And I see that happening with HPL Max with Paramount with this merger is Paramount Plus will be the main streaming ⁓ app. And then you have HPL Max underneath that. Potentially. And what does that mean for HBO Max original shows like Lanterns? like does do they still put it out? Do they quietly shelve it? You know, like you said Even though it's set to come out in late August September. I'm pretty sure of this year That's still a long time away speaker-1: Right. That's right around the time that they're supposed to be solidifying the sale, you know. speaker-0: and a lot can happen to me now and then. like, what does that look like? I'm really excited too, because like, you know, you have how Jordan in it, you have Jon Stewart in it, you have all these lanterns in it. And like, I am super excited for the show. But I think people had their expectations up like super, super high. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: And, and they had this revision of what they thought it was going to be, but like gun all along, it was going to be like a true detective shorter story, more ground lanterns. a lot of people are talking about with the trailer, ⁓ that there was like for being a green lantern trend or you never want to green in this trailer. ⁓ like it's all like very grounded and real like looking like more like a West world or something like that. ⁓ and people are a little up in arms about that, but to me, it's a trailer. doesn't mean that they're not gonna be green in the show. It doesn't mean that the suit isn't actually green. You know, those sort of things. Like, I think it's just, you're watching it and like giving it a chance. Right. And, you know, but my main worry with all of this is Gunn is just getting started. Yeah. And I'm worried that we're gonna have yet another reset. We just got done with one reset. You we just got done with the Snyder, Zack Snyder stuff. And now we've got Gunn in and all he's been able to do is put out Superman and Peacemaker and Supergirl comes out this year. And then Lanterns comes out this year. But that's where we're We're so early stages of this version of the DCU. I don't know if fans, I don't know if I as a fan, I see what you think can handle another reset. I don't know if I'm, I think I'll be over it. speaker-1: Honestly, I feel like that because just to, I know it's always, always compared to Marvel, but just to compare it again, every new time, every time there's a new phase for Marvel, I'm just like, are they changing now? What characters that I love that I thought their story was ending is coming back and like, what are they going to change? What are they going to shift? And it's a lot because you fall in love with the stories, you fall in love with the characters and then the things that each person loves. gets changed, then you're kind of having to be like, okay, are they still my favorite character or is this who they are now and do I even like that? And that changes your whole perspective of their story going forward. I understand that people have different creative visualizations of what they think this story should be and what they think this person or this character should be doing. Let's take this for instance. the Deadpool from X-Men. I mean, that was trash. And then you see what Ryan Reynolds turned it into what he wanted it to be. And you're like, that's Deadpool. That's actually Deadpool. If they do something like that, yes, I could get behind it. Like if they take that character and they take him even more into like what he truly is, like truly comic book, like their true roots, I can totally 100 % get behind it yet. I could get excited for it and I could love it. I truly could. But that's not where it's been. Like what they've shown us from all these reboots has just been so far off and it's been having to acclimate myself and like, like re love that character because there's just so much that's different. And yes, they're bringing in certain things that maybe haven't been shown before. Like I really loved in Superman, you know, the dog crypto. Yes. Thank you. speaker-0: Crypto, yeah. speaker-1: having crypto in there, that felt so good. It felt so nostalgic to like when I was a kid and we were watching Superman cartoons, you know, and crypto was in it. ⁓ That was so good. I loved that. And then even Lex Luthor's character, again, I just I can't get over that. It was so true to like who Lex Luthor is. Like he's just diabolical. He's just disgusting. He's just, you know, this menace. And the fact that they were able to bring that into a live action film. I loved it. absolutely did. So moving forward, if they do another reboot, how, how do you recreate that? You know, how do you, how do you make it even better than that? I just don't see it happening, you know? speaker-0: The only thing I could see working is because like I alluded to, cuz gun is so early on in this vision and like really we haven't even really truly got started. was really just the, it was the kickoff point of this new version of the DCU. We don't even have a Batman introduced yet, stuff like that. Like, because we're so early on, I could see them being like, well, guns out, we get this new person. But what we want, what we want this new person to do is take what gun did and build off of that and use that as kind of like. a Bible, so to speak, of the blueprint of, yeah, we're not recasting Superman. Superman, James Gunn's Superman, James Gunn's Peacemaker, James Gunn's Lanterns, et cetera, is canon, and we're building our new version, our new 10-year plan off of that. Because really, as ⁓ viewers, as fans, we're none the wiser, really, of that 10-year plan. We really don't know what that 10-year plan was. So I can see somebody come in and pair them out. being like, we like what Gunn did here, Gunn made the map, now follow. speaker-1: You know, I could see that. if, mean, if they actually stay true to that, maybe if he doesn't want to do it because of, you know, the conflicts and his beliefs and everything, maybe see if they can hire him on in the early stages of the transition as like a consultant or something, you know, something like that, just so that they can make the transition more seamless, you know, and actually, you know, keep what they've started building. think maybe I could get behind that, you know, as long as it wasn't like. like chop it off, you know? speaker-0: Yeah, yeah. And we're putting out a whole new Superman movie. We're putting out a whole new this, know, like, as long as they kept the same actors and like, like I said, kept the blueprint of what Gunn already has done, I can maybe get behind that. Yeah. Doesn't mean I don't like the movies because especially if we go back to like what we were saying, if they end up like laying very hard on hidden messages and political stances. speaker-1: Right. speaker-0: You know, I don't want to pro-Trump Superman who is like... speaker-1: Yeah, no, there's a place for that and our comic book movies is definitely not it. speaker-0: Right. I wouldn't want like a pro-Biden Superman either. ⁓ speaker-1: No. speaker-0: The point I'm making, this is not me dogging Trump and putting out my views out there. This is more of just stating like, don't want politics in my superhero movies. speaker-1: Exactly keep that out of it. There's just there's no reason for it. These movies are supposed to be feel-good They're supposed to be nostalgic like there was a whole reason why? The comic books were written at the time period that they were written in and it was literally to bring light and and joy and like help people get through the day to day because of just how Crappy everything was around them. We don't need to we see that every day We see it in the news. We see it in our daily lives how it's affecting you know, countless Americans, all of that. It doesn't matter. Trump, Biden, Harris, nobody cares. This is comic books. Superman is Superman. Superman for president. Fuck it. Right. ⁓ sorry. speaker-0: I would say Batman for president. speaker-1: You know what? No, I want Barry Allen for president. ⁓ No. Are you crazy? Catwoman for president. speaker-0: Captain Cold. ⁓ speaker-1: Captain Cold, yes! ⁓ I'm down. It's done. Bring him back. Let's do it. speaker-0: Leonard snark? speaker-1: It's snark. Yeah. ⁓ my gosh. Bring him back. I'm down. What was up? about Cisco? Cisco for president. Yup. Yup. And he'd have great hair. speaker-0: Is the campaign this house is bitchin' if that's this guy thinks? speaker-1: ⁓ my gosh you guys that was literally our Netflix password for like six years because we were watching The Flash and Cisco was like what does this say? What does this say? He was like this house is bitching. That's like that's perfect That's our new password and we would sit there every every week We were watching The Flash every week and Gotham man, and that was like our that was like our sibling bonding time You know, so don't mess up my DC I'm coming for you. I will put nasty mean messages on your ex. speaker-0: Speaking of Flash, one of my fan castings for the new Flash, for the new Barry Allen, as far as the new Flash universe, as far as the reverse Flash goes, is Grant Gustin. To me, that'd be so meta if he's the reverse Flash. speaker-1: No, 100 % because I absolutely love him. He's my favorite Flash. He will always be my favorite Flash. Honestly, my favorite scene was him like zooming around the kitchen making pancakes. Like, yes. And then singing into the spatula. Yes. speaker-0: I have the evil version of him, like him being the reverse flash. Yes. To whoever. feel like. That'd be great in my opinion. speaker-1: I feel like I would root for him more though. What? I would root for him more than Barry Allen. I'd be like. speaker-0: Have him be the new Harrison Wills. ⁓ speaker-1: He'd be so easy to love too. He's, he's so cute and he's so like, he has it nailed down like the quirkiness, you know, and the self-loathing. He definitely was able to nail that down. And I feel like him as Wells, that would be a cool twist. I would love that. speaker-0: Cause he's older now, so he could do it. I mean, maybe a new role for him, but having him back in the DC, especially in the flash universe would be so great. Yeah. speaker-1: I think that would be really cool seeing him like maybe with a little bit of a beard Like maybe give him like a professor vibe, you know speaker-0: Right. Yeah. And for people in the know, it's just like he was buried because they could do that in the show, you know, with the original Flash was his dad. speaker-1: ⁓ yeah, I forgot about that. You're right. He was. And then when they did, what was it? Flashpoint. Didn't they even bring in, ⁓ that was somebody else. Who was that? speaker-0: They brought in, ⁓ they brought in somebody from the past. Yeah. speaker-1: Right, and he was supposed to be like, I don't remember. I'm gonna have to re-watch it now. speaker-0: But yeah, the original Flash played his dad in the show, so. I thought that was super cool. So you could do something. speaker-1: Who would they get to play frost though? speaker-0: be a good frost. That's a question. speaker-1: Who would you want to see as Frost in a new flash? speaker-0: think you go with a young actress. I think you go with somebody younger. speaker-1: I am gonna throw this out there just because I've loved her little I know they're not really cameos, but she didn't get much time McKenna grace. I like that. I she would like she's got the quirkiness. She's got the attitude. I loved her in scream 7. She did really well. I loved her in five nights at Freddy's too. That was good too, you know speaker-0: I'm ⁓ stranger things. I'm Ethan Hawke's daughter. speaker-1: ⁓ yeah, that she could do that. You know what though? Maybe I could see her more in like a Iris role though, you know? Cause she's got that fieryness. I feel like she would be able to really bring that into like that journalist, you know, kind of role. I think that would be cool. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. I think that's ⁓ what's her name? Asweeney is her last name. You don't like her? speaker-1: Oh no, I hate her. No, I hate her. No, she's basic and trash and nah, not it. I know and I don't watch any of her stuff. I'm like, I get so excited for something and then I'm like, oh, I'm not watching that. It's just I have no desire. I don't know. Y'all can hate me. Sorry. It's not a thing. think, you know, she's very beautiful, but her acting skills are so basic and you know, she basically plays the same. speaker-0: She's in walks though. speaker-1: like her temperament, the way she talks, she doesn't really change anything from character to character. And so it's very easy to just like forget her, you know? speaker-0: She's kind like the modern Megan Fox. speaker-1: Yeah, I think so. And I just think, I don't know, maybe if she changes it up a little bit, know, got a little more, put a little more sass into it, maybe a little more attitude into some of her like roles, you know, really change it up. Otherwise it's just still a little bit forgettable, you know. speaker-0: Yeah, she plays like the girl next door a lot, like the, you know, the mixed-race, like slutty. speaker-1: A lot of her, a lot of her roles, she's a girl who plays the victim. And I'm like, give her something with some like power, you know, people like a good strong, like play that part at the beginning and then show the transformation into the strong, powerful, you know, attitude woman, like. speaker-0: Speaking of strong and powerful woman, I am really excited about Megan Alcock's Supergirl. speaker-1: Yes, that's gonna be great. speaker-0: Going back to SuperMama and seeing with her. speaker-1: ⁓ my gosh, it was so funny. speaker-0: Being introduced as Supergirl, was this great? speaker-1: And the way their relationship was so iconic. It was so brother sister. Like, bro, give me my dog. What are you doing? The dog is so naughty. You could totally tell she does not discipline that dog at all. She doesn't train it, like nothing. speaker-0: Why'd you move the door? You know, the whole, you know? speaker-1: Dude, he goes through this whole thing and she's like, bro, her movie's gonna be great. I can't wait. It's gonna be so. speaker-0: No one believes what she says, you know. Thank you for watching my... speaker-1: He literally went to another world for that dog too. I'm sorry for those of you who haven't seen speaker-0: But no, like I'm excited about that movie. Like I see it being like very much, cause Jason Momoa is going to be in it as Lobo. speaker-1: ⁓ that'll be good. Yeah. I'm excited about that. speaker-0: very much like a buddy cop sort of thing, where it's just like, like they're going around to different like bars and space and getting drunk together and like. speaker-1: Man, you know, that's going to be so funny. I cannot. ⁓ speaker-0: And most people probably know her from, ⁓ Game of Thrones, well, House of Dragon, right? Yeah. She was in Game of Thrones, was in House of Dragon. speaker-1: I think it was House of Dragon to Google this. Google's like my best friend. speaker-0: She might have been in both. I don't think she was. I think it was just House in the Back. She played a pretty special role in one those shows. speaker-1: That's not her. ⁓ my gosh. It pulled up the old DC Supergirl show. speaker-0: ⁓ And Megan Alcock is her name. speaker-1: I'm so bad at names, it's so bad. speaker-0: I wanna say it's Megan. Millie. Millie. speaker-1: Okay, let's see. ⁓ yeah, no, she was in House of Dragon. I loved her. She was such, you know, funny thing. She did so well and people loved her so much that they actually kept her longer when ⁓ her best friend's character who became her stepmom, very awkward. She like, her character was the young version and then in the next season, she was the adult version of her, right? And they kept the younger, they kept Millie because she did so great. And people loved her so much. And I don't know who did that casting for that, but they were on point. That it was perfect. But yeah. speaker-0: I heard you killed it in House of Dragons, so... speaker-1: ⁓ she did. She absolutely did. She was fierce and vulnerable and you really like got pulled into what her character was going through. So I'm excited because she's a very good actress. This is she's going to bring a lot of life to this movie. I think she's going to be able to really bring out, know, that fun, quirky, like sassy side of Supergirl. Yeah, it's going to be great. speaker-0: So out of the movies coming up, that's one, the biggest one in the DC Universe I'm excited about is Supergirl. Just because of her, a little bit I've seen of her and also the fact that Jason Momoa is in a key role. I love Jason Momoa. speaker-1: I do too. He always brings this really great comic relief to every role, even when it's a very serious role. Like, he's just, he's a really good actor. I'm so excited. Like, I can't wait to see them two like together, you know? speaker-0: And Lobo can be a very scary role in a very like, he's a comic but serious character. He's like an, he's an alien bounty hunter basically. Yeah. If you're familiar with Lobo. So I'm excited for him. I think Edtion Momoa was kind of made for Lobo. More so than he was made for Aquaman. speaker-1: Yeah, and you know that's something too because he did really well with Aquaman. I really enjoyed it. speaker-0: But I'm also worried because are people going to be able to him as Lobo and not really think about Aquaman? Because I don't know from enough removed from Aquaman for him to make Lobo his own and people not associate him with Aquaman. You see what saying? speaker-1: think it's gonna all come down to the way that he chooses to portray it. If he can change his like energy, his dynamic enough, I feel like we would be able to. I think it's gonna come down to him and his acting ability. I think that's what it's gonna come down to, you know? speaker-0: Because my worry is if you pay these like Lobo like very bro-ish like you pay the Aquaman, it's just Aquaman is Lobo. You see what saying? ⁓ And that's my worry. And I think that's kind of what you're getting at. Like he's really going to have to come in and like set this role apart for people to buy into the character, I think. Because if he comes in and plays it similar to Aquaman, then that's going to be a detriment, I think. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, look at, look at his role in like the Minecraft movie. He played this crazy, you know, ridiculous character and he was able to pull it off so well after coming off of just all these roles of being like this big buff, like tough, smart, like main character, everyone's drawn to him kind of person to now he's like, who are you? Like, why are you talking right now? Kind of character, you know? So I think he is capable of it. It's just. as long as he doesn't suck himself back into that role. I think that's a challenge that a lot of these actors face when they're playing a different role within the same universe. They're gonna have to figure out, who is this person and how do I become them? How do I embody them? It's gonna be a challenge for sure. speaker-0: Yeah, because there's a lot of actors from the old DC, from the Snyder version of DC that I would love to see get new roles because I think they're good actors like Gal Gadot. speaker-1: Yes. speaker-0: Like, I would love for her to come back as Wonder Woman. I think that'd be cool. But if she is not Wonder Woman, I think there's a lot of other rules that would be perfect for her and make sense. speaker-1: You might not agree with me on this one, but I feel like she needs to play a villain. speaker-0: I would agree. I was kind of thinking like a poison ivy or... speaker-1: Yeah, she would be so good. speaker-0: or a cat woman or something like that. speaker-1: I would love to see her in a villain role. I really would. I feel like she would bring so much to the character and like it would be fun because did you see her as the evil queen? Dude, she killed it. She was so good. It just made me want her to be in a role where she could actually like, you know, pull more of that out. That would be fun. speaker-0: I Like do I think I would give her like Harley Quinn? No, because I don't think that's her. speaker-1: But I would love to see her next to Harley Quinn. That would be a cool, you know? speaker-0: But I think I would bring back also honestly, I'd bring back Marco Robbie. That's Harriett Quinn. I think she. speaker-1: Yes, 100%. She's the perfect Harley Quinn. I never thought I would say that, honestly, but Suicide Squad, she nailed it. I mean, she did so well. And then Birds of Prey, I loved that she was able to take that character and just make us love her even speaker-0: Like, and this is me saying, like, going back to people who made, trying to kind of talk, talk about who's kind of made rules from themselves. I'm not saying that nobody could do Harley Quinn as good as Margot Robbie did. Cause I do think there are some people out there, like Kelly Coco, like she does it in animated form right now, know, Penny from Big Bang Theory. I can see them giving her the live action ones that she's already doing animated. Right. Cause if we were to do an animated, you probably could do a live action. speaker-1: Yeah, and that's kind of their trend right now is doing everything, you know, like that, make the live action after. I think that you need to have the right, like the right people producing though, for sure. And I don't know, the James Gunn thing just makes me so nervous, like what's going to happen, you know? There's so much potential. There's so much potential for greatness. There is. But it's also so easy to fumble it, you know? speaker-0: especially right now, especially in transition, things get lost in transition. When buyouts happen, know, layoffs are bound to happen. And I think we're full to think that DC is going to look the same. It's just like how different is it going to look? Because, know, Paramount is going to have their people in place. They're probably not going to want to hold on to a lot of WB people because they're going to want the people they trust. It's the same any business. And they're probably going to have somebody who's going to be above gun, who's overseeing gun. at the bare minimum, is that person in lining with guns vision or not? That's what we're going to come down to. speaker-1: And you know, they could potentially, because Paramount does have some really good hits. They really do. Like I am obsessed with Wednesday. I love it. School spirits. I don't know if you've seen that. So good. It's literally riveting. And if they can do what they did there, I feel like DC could potentially grow into this massive, you know, even bigger than it is now. But it just depends on if they're willing to put in that kind of effort, you know, and also. Don't do what a lot of these are doing and get us going on all these new series. If they do lanterns and they keep it and they stick to it true, don't put out one season, then wait a whole entire year and put out another season. Don't do that. Don't do that to us. Do smaller seasons if you have to, but keep it going. speaker-0: Right. Right. And I agree with that. What do you guys think? did, if you want to know, leave your comments in the comment section and hit us up on social media as well. We like to interact with you. But what do you guys see WB's future looking like? And keep in mind, like right now, things could change. The deal could fall through because the government decides like there's a monopoly. It's like almost ⁓ how Disney wasn't able to buy Fox because they decided like there was this question on was Disney getting too big, they could have that question with Paramount. there's a chance that Netflix could come back in and scoop in at the very last minute. But it's looking like Paramount's about to buy WB and how you guys feel about that? What do you think that's going to do to your Batman? What do you think that's going to do to your Superman? Do you not care? Do you not worry about snow? But another thing I want to talk about in the show is I want to get a little bit of gaming talk as well. Because I know you're a gamer. speaker-1: I love gaming. speaker-0: I am. And I know you're playing some things. Yes. And you're constantly introducing me to stuff. What's there? What's on the horizon that you really are diving into right now? speaker-1: So there's Quarantine Zone. It just got released on Steam, a full release finally. I played the demo. was all over anybody who watches Twitch and YouTube. Like you guys watch the streamers. Quarantine Zone was everywhere. I think I played the demo through three different times. It's so good. It's literally apocalypse. You're scanning people, trying to keep people safe, you know, and then zombie game, you know, you're trying to like... You're drone attacking. It's very addicting because there's so many different parts to it that you have to do. And you you get attacked too by people who are all upset that you're putting them in quarantine instead of just letting them go, you know? And ⁓ so it's actually really interesting game. And then another game I'm obsessed with, I've got over 200 hours locked, is Seven Days to Die. Cannot, that's the one I keep trying to get you on, but you're like. Sorry, my little fidget. I can't get you to get on it because you don't like keyboard and you need to do it. You just you have to. It's so much fun. So it's it's a co-op game. We get online. It's cross-plat. So you can play it on Xbox. We've been playing with one of our friends and we honestly we played it out like normal where you're you know, you're building your player up. You're doing all the little quests and everything. And then we also played it on creative mode, which let me tell you, creative mode can get wild. We literally went through all these different worlds and we're just blowing everything up. We had huge craters straight deep down. We couldn't get out. Like it was so funny. We had to like, when you have it in creative mode, you can like transport people. So we were having to like transport out of these giant craters. We're blowing each other up and making bases you can. There's a blood moon every seven days and that's when everything gets crazy and you just have all these zombies coming in at you from all angles. And we finally maxed out all of our XP, all of our characters, they're maxed out completely. ⁓ now like these zombies are different colors, they're glowing and they're insane. You've got spitters, you've got boulder throwing zombies. You have these cowboy zombies that spit bees at you. Like what? Yeah, it's crazy. And then these bees are attacking you. You zombie birds flying down and trying to eat you. It's so much fun. And the dogs, they have zombie dogs, zombie bears, saber-toothed tigers. Yeah. Well, I don't think they're, they might be mountain lions. I don't know. They look like saber-toothed tigers because they're pretty crazy looking. I think they're just zombified to be honest. There's, there's dogs. There's, I mean, you've got to get in the game. It's so much fun. And I literally, I could play it all night. I'm literally like this sometimes, I'm like, ⁓ I gotta get off. It's such a good time, it's such a good time. And then you know, gotta play horror games. That's where the fun is. speaker-0: and maybe we can advance my sister to get into streaming in the future. speaker-1: I bust streaming a little bit, you know, I'm more, don't hate me. I'm more on TikTok, you know? And I'm not very creative when it comes to like editing. And so all my videos are pretty basic. speaker-0: But that's I got your brother speaker-1: Yeah, it got me little bit of followers, you know? But yeah, I think I do need to ⁓ get back into streaming and maybe playing some video games online for you guys to watch me completely get demolished by these zombies and run for my life screaming. speaker-0: be great. But I also want to talk to you about, well, I have asked you, have you had a chance to play Enzo Hidalgo? speaker-1: I downloaded it. started making my character and then I got gifted a different game. And so I haven't really gotten to play it. It looks like a lot of fun. speaker-0: Cause the question is, I would like to get your point in, this may be another episode, like, you know, it sounds like Enzo is where he's trying to come for Sims 4's throat. speaker-1: I know, and I'm addicted to Sims 4. I have like 800 hours locked on that game. I don't know, I guess I haven't really gotten into it yet, so I really need to like give it a chance. But I haven't yet. And so I can't really give you a very good like idea of what I think, but you know what, I'll get into it this next week or so, and then next time we'll do a full breakdown of what I think. speaker-0: Cause from what I know about my sister, you're more of a builder in the sense than like playing. speaker-1: And you know what's crazy? I just finally got the for rent edition pack on my Sims, which is crazy because it's literally you just, you're building houses to rent out and that's, that's it. And I get so bored with like playing them. had, I had a couple of Sims that I had played and I had them for six, seven years. And then Sims four did that update and everybody lost their stuff. And when I lost it, I was like, okay, well that made me angry. And so now it's been like. I just kind of bounce around and I'm like, okay, well, this house is built. Let me go buy another one and move and, you know, do it again. And, ⁓ I did the one box challenge. That was difficult. So far I have a two story house in that game. speaker-0: The racks of riches mounds is fun too. ⁓ speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, I literally went in and I deleted all my money, all of it. And I was literally standing in a one by one, like box, taking selfies, like all sad, like trying to smile. It was terrible. I'm like, who's buying these pictures, by the way, you're selling all these pictures and Sims to get money. Who's buying them? Like, I feel like Mortimer has them like in his dungeon or something, you know? Yeah, the little gothic guy Mortimer. speaker-0: Saki, ahahahah. speaker-1: Oh my gosh, I swear or it's somebody weird like the soccer mom down the street or something. She's like, ha ha. speaker-0: The River Rehails mom sippin' out. Yeah! speaker-1: Yes, dude. ⁓ my gosh. My Sims in that was definitely, I had a bush because it was cheaper than the toilet and the toilet kept breaking. So she had a bush. She could take a nap in the bush. She could use the bush. That was what she had. And then she had a sink because the sink was cheap. So she was washing her hands to get that hygiene up. Like, ⁓ my gosh, the struggle was so insane. But when she got that easel. speaker-0: One thing I do love about Enzoi is like, putting a lot of stuff in the base game that are packs in The Sims 4. So, it already has seasons, it already has cats and dogs, it already has like... speaker-1: Really? I don't have cats and dogs. I did get the horse one though. speaker-0: Yeah, I always have already has pests and seasons and all this stuff that like since before you had like nickel and dime. ⁓ and I think that's part of their model is they're like, Hey, look, like we're just giving us to. speaker-1: Buy them, yeah. You know, I'm going to be honest, I think I might actually be looking towards getting away from Sims a little bit because I have the packs for the mountain living. I have the mermaid, I have the witches one. ⁓ And the reason I got that was because it was right before the Harry Potter game came out and I was like, ooh, I want it. you know, and then I had Island Living so you could be a mermaid and I downloaded, I have it on, if those of you who know it's on, what is it? Rockstar, I think. Or no, easy. Yeah, okay. And you could also get it on Steam and they're supposed to be together. You should be able to play. And I do not have half of my packs that are any of my packs that are on EA. I cannot access any of them anymore. So I have all these characters that I can no longer play because I'm, it says I'm missing those packs, but it shows that they're downloaded, but it's inaccessible. And it's been that way for months and months since last year. ⁓ I thought, okay, well, maybe if I download another pack, and it was one that I wanted was on sale, it'll, it'll fix because that's what happened last time I downloaded like a little pack and it fixed it. don't know why, but it fixed it, patched it. I downloaded it. Nope. It's still gone and it's been gone. And I'm like, I'm not rebuying this. Like I already own it. I'm not rebuying this. And it's just frustrating. speaker-0: That's been the biggest problem with The Sims 4 is like every time they put out a new pack, every time they do something, they break their game. And it's been, and that's why like at Christmas, like we were looking at that and I was just like, think like, to affect you, so I was just like, just get enjoying. speaker-1: Yeah, I think I did that. That was the night I downloaded it too, wasn't it? Man. speaker-0: Cause I've just They don't care like about Sims 4 anymore as far as like, cause it's just so fundamentally broken. And I don't think we're getting a Sims 5 because I don't think if we do, it's probably going to be like basically Sims 4.1, you know, like it's going to be like, they're just going to try to like give you the same game with maybe. speaker-1: Maybe just fix the game since so many people love it. Just fix it, you know? And if your developers are the ones who are breaking it, maybe, I don't know, get new developers. That's a thing that jobs do, right? They get better people. speaker-0: can't do your job, they fire you. speaker-1: Yeah, like your game isn't working. Can you fix that? Because it's kind of a necessary element of gaming is for it to work. speaker-0: Yeah, like I feel like they have some developers who like, like, like lied on their resume or just chat GPT for, I got a developer degree. speaker-1: They all copy-pasted it, made it with a Cricut. It's embossed, I swear, look. It's like all Cricut embossed. speaker-0: Yeah, they got tab open, they're frantically Googling things in chat. speaker-1: Quick, how do I do this? And it like step by step walks you through how to fix it. Like most people said this worked. Let me tell them that. They're going off of Reddit posts. Well Reddit says, what do mean Reddit says? Didn't you code this? Like just fix the code. speaker-0: ⁓ I feel like that's what's happening at this point, honest. speaker-1: What about you? What have you been playing? speaker-0: Um, so I'm a huge WWE 2K25 person. Um, I've been paying that a lot. I'm a huge Red Dead Redemption 2 person. K25, I'm a huge, I'm a huge MyGM mode person. I've talked to our Brandon and Uncle Black. We thought about honestly, creating a subsection and let us know what you guys think in the comments about this idea by the way. Creating a subsection of gaming, of streaming and bringing people in to our camp. That's what I can't teach you about for you. like, like us having like an MGM series where we're like, like I, I, I like to control the brand ECW. Brandon's going to WCW and Uncle Black's going to do like 90s nostalgia raw, like 90s raw. speaker-1: probably would be there. speaker-0: and see who will win at the end of season. So I'm thinking about buying W2K26 for that reason, because W2K25 kind of has ran its shelf life. But yeah, so I've been playing that. Red Dead Redemption 2, I could play that for hours. I love Red Dead Redemption 2. ⁓ speaker-1: those games where you can just get on it and lose yourself. speaker-0: Yeah, I like, I love open world games. So I like, like Red Dead Redemption 2. like, like Grand Theft Auto 5, you know. Like things like that where I can just get lost in the story. I'm a huge story based person. So story and open world. So like the mafia games were the greatest games to me. No, but it's been on my list. speaker-1: love that. Have you played Destiny? I just started playing that and I'm telling you, Destiny 2, it's pretty great. I also started playing Elden Ring, which is so difficult. I've died so much. But apparently, you gotta get used to that when you're playing it. But Destiny 2, I like the storyline. It's a lot of fun. The character that you pick at the beginning, it kinda like leads you down a different path depending on which way you wanna play. It'll literally change your whole game. And it's controller. speaker-0: You just sold me there. I am not a keyboard person. just am not. don't, it's uncomfortable to me. speaker-1: You know, I get that because when I first started PC gaming, I hated it. I hated it. I couldn't get my fingers to do it right. And now when I'm typing, I like, I put my fingers to game instead of to type and I'm like, ⁓ crap. Okay. I got to fix that. But yeah, honestly, there are some games where I'm like, I hate this. I'm going back to my freaking my keyboard. cannot with the controller. It's just too difficult. Whereas the keyboard simplifies it, you know? speaker-0: But what games are you guys playing? Also, like I said, let us know if you're interested in a gaming part of podcasting on Nerdy, where you guys can watch the stream. We're playing. Exactly. And trust me, it's going to be a whole lot of laughs and fun ⁓ if we do it. I was thinking, like, who's your daddy? Would you have me play that one time? speaker-1: together. Oh my gosh, yes, that was so funny. That was so inappropriate. Oh my gosh. That would be a funny one to stream. Honestly, Who's Your Daddy is such a ridiculous game. You literally play as a pair, a mommy or a daddy and the mommies look wild, like wild. And the babies, I mean, you're just trying, you're trying to do whatever you can to, you know, yourself. And we were, we were doing everything from electrocution somehow. Somehow Adrian flooded the entire house and we were drowning in the house and you open the door and it's like you go out and you're good. You're just fine. And then didn't did you eat dog poop or a diaper? Yeah, you ate a diaper too, right? ⁓ my speaker-0: And then like I made like, like it was like this box of like baby poop and I made it explode. Remember? speaker-1: Yeah, and it went everywhere. ⁓ my God. And no, and then he killed me. I don't know if we could say that, but he offed my character. And then there was a slight bit of baby cannibalism where Hila's like, and just gobbled it right up. Like just dragging my, you know, round and I'm okay. I was like, I didn't realize that was a thing they could do. speaker-0: I was jumping off a balcony and stuff like that. speaker-1: He went into the dishwasher. He crawled into the dishwasher while I was sticking a fork in an outlet. speaker-0: But no, if you guys want to those sort of things, we definitely will post them. I'm pretty sure we can make a gaming night sometimes. But yeah, so let us know in the comments what you think. Before we let you go, I want you guys to that there's a lot of cool things happening this year. We look on social media for some drops for some guests who are coming up, some guests you may know, some guests who have been on TV, if you're wrestling fan, I hear. He's American and he's a nightmare. So be on the lookout for those sort of things. I hear that he likes money. A lot, lot of money. That's a hint for another one. Yeah, there's a lot of cool things happening. A lot of cool people that we're going to be able to talk to potentially this year. Looking to have Daven Hammond back on. If you don't know him, he is the voice of Kenny from the Walking Dead Telltale series. Furby in about 60 different languages. As well as speaking of Destiny. forgot the character, he did some voiceover characters for Destiny. And also Outer Ring. Oh, that's cool. May have him back on. a lot of cool things. So stay tuned and be looking out for those things. And like always, keep it nerdy.
