Robert J Dunbar: Hold on, I need to ⁓ leave the lobby. I'm sorry, I can't forgive you. This relationship is not gonna work out. I'm not gonna go I'm not gonna I'm sleeping somewhere else tonight. Jeez. Gonna go sleep on the streets. Rather get eaten by the fing animals in the road than deal with your stupidity. Welcome to Co op Chaos, a game life balance podcast. Here are your hosts, Bob and Aaron. Hey there people. I'm Bob. Hello, hello. I'm Aaron. With us today, our crew, Todd Soap Milk. Welcome. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello, hello. Thank for having us. Yes, thank you for having us. Of course, of course. But if you haven't listened to us before, Coop Chaos is podcast about Goofy immature adults trying to stain each other's lives through games and other forms of media. Each episode we talk about games, movies, books, food, or anything else we feel like is keeping us sane in these crazy times throughout the episode. ⁓ we will be playing an online co-op game. The goal is to keep the cost of that game under ten dollars. We'll share our thoughts on it, and generally just talk as much nonsense as possible, just like your typical gaming group. And this particular episode we will be playing Sledding Game. Let's go. Let's go slitting! Yay! Snow in my butt crack. ⁓ that is a wash tub sled that you almost landed on me with. Whoa, wh where'd you get that hat? I don't think I have that hat. ⁓ I don't know where I got this hat. I don't even know what's on it. The hat is ⁓ is it a little frog on a sled. It's a frog on a sled. I look like my hat. It's you on your hat. Are you in a bubble ball? I am. And there's a f like a fried egg on it. Hold on. How do I get it back? ⁓ there it is. ⁓ there you go. ⁓ there is a fried egg on it. What? ⁓ I don't even remember doing that. It's the magic of sledding game. I switched to my Princess Donut glasses. ⁓ nice. ⁓ look at you. ⁓ my god, it's the ones you got from Empress Denadia. No spoilers. Yeah, I have no idea what that means. Sorry, sorry. Gotta remember that. ⁓ who's gonna know what Princess Donadia is anyways? You guys want to set up a ⁓ launch pad up at the top? Sure. Yeah. Where do you go to switch sleds again? You go into your menu or do you have to go talk to a You go back to the Lodge. There's ⁓ chest locations throughout ⁓ right outside it. Yeah, if you if you teleport to Lodge and then to teleport to Lodge, if you hit escape, those sh there's a button that says teleport to lodge. You just click it and then you just walk up to this little treasure chest looking thing and that's all your unlocked gear. How has everybody's week been? Pretty good. Yeah. Todd, why don't you go ahead and tell us what have you been doing this week? I started a new job two weeks ago. ⁓ so now I'm like really getting into the the nitty and the gritty. We're knitting and gritting. I like it. But yeah, ⁓ smaller company, good people. Other than that, just normal stuff. But that's the that's the big news. Nice. Okay. Well congratulations. Thank you. Yeah. Congrats. I'm trying to remember what this past week was like for us. I think it went by so fast I can't even remember. Did you fart at soap at all? ⁓ I must have. Soap, can you confirm? I mean, it's like when is she not farting at me? That that would be especially weak if that didn't happen. Just a constant stream of slapping them all out of there. Farting farting is my love language for you. I love you, Milk. Exactly it. Every time. ⁓ There was a thing that he used to do that like I'd like give him a like a quick kiss on the cheek and he'd go like It was based on ⁓ one of the YouTubers we used to watch. So like we have like a interesting way of showing our love to each other. Apparently. Yeah, I had a weak Today worked, but then today was pretty nice. Had a nice relaxing morning and then I went out and donated blood at my favorite video game store and they give you a gift card when you donate blood there. And I got a pretty nifty new game controller. Ooh. Ooh. Sweet You know, all the Hall Effect sticks and wireless dongles and all the fancy stuff. ⁓ them fancy jingle hoppers. I love that place. Whoa. I tell ya, if you find a g a place with good dongles, don't forget it. Yeah, seriously. Bob has actually been there before. I have been there. It's a half huge video game store with a giant selection of all these retro games and then the other half is like a old arcade that has all of your favorite games from the nineties and eighties. Yeah, and they've got like a couple like systems like consoles set up too. Yep. In the middle they have like a little area. Yeah, they got like N sixty four and Super Nintendo and Xbox. And then they have like a a stage area where they have all the like rock band things that you can all play together. Right. I think they got both. ⁓ Guitar Hero is totally my jam. I was always terrible at those games, but I still tried. Well someday if you come to visit we We'll absolutely take you there as the main priority. Yes. Yeah, I mean we'll have to see. The ⁓ third oldest has mentioned that she wants to go there when I take her on her trip later this year. Yeah. We'll have to take her to get pastries at her namesake coffee shop. Her little cafe. ⁓ yeah. Yeah, she's very excited. DDR was my jam. And when they did get a dancing game in the arcade section, it was like a Korean version that I was not familiar with and the the step pads were like in a different orientation. I was like, I don't know how to do this. I don't wanna do it. This is not my jam. Well very specifically not your jam. Yeah. Maybe it's your j more your jelly. It could be. D D Rmulus two things. Yeah. Not this again, no. No. This is like a a very long term callback. Yeah. ⁓ man. I didn't even know it was possible. ⁓ yeah. But yeah, have you guys ever played a game and then you just y you play it so much that you end up like dreaming about it? ⁓ yes. ⁓ yes. Very Left for Dead too. So that happened with me in like ⁓ in ⁓ with Guitar Hero and aver s ever since that horrible weekend 'cause I could not sleep. Just you know, colored balls flying down at the bottom of my vision, very stressful. But ever since then I've been really good at Guitar Hero. Yeah, well I think the brain can go through things a little faster and in the dream state it's like I think something and there it is. And so you can just like simulate run through simulations. Wow. I think maybe that's just your brain. ⁓ no, that's the Tetris effect. This is something. I don't know I don't know if I've ever gained anything from it though. Just No, it's like what is it? They actually did this test with mice that ran through a maze and then they can't really watch their dreams, but they like you know what, I could be talking on my butt here, but I'm pretty sure they like watched the patterns and like noticed that they they in their dream state they were like basically running the maze. Hmm. Interesting. That makes sense because like when we go into the dream state, our brain is trying to get rid of like the mental garbage, like trying to filter out all like the garbage stuff. And but like it also like reflects on like what you've been doing that previous day. But it's happened to me. I know what you're saying, ⁓ completely about like played a game so much that you dreamt about it or you're in the game itself. Yep, that's what it is. I don't think anything I just said made sense. Now that I think about it, I'm sorry. We should sleep on it. Yeah, I should sleep on it. So how was your week, Bob? ⁓ my week has been all right. Had some stuff going on that not gonna talk about just because it's life stuff that ⁓ I wanna have kick in kick in the dick? Yeah, yeah, just some tough stuff. High level 'cause this is just gonna gain more curiosity and questions. ⁓ yeah Family member of mine is dealing with some significant health issues and you know, just trying to work through all of those challenges and figuring out what the next steps are. But besides that, it's been pretty good week. I got my hair cut today, and my old our second oldest got his hair cut, and like he's had super long hair for like A couple of years now and he decided to just chop it like all off so he's got like ⁓ a much shorter haircut. Yeah, and it looks really good. Any pictures? I don't have a picture yet, but I am going to get one and I will show I mean, let's be real, he's not sleeping right now. He's laying in bed on his phone. Just ⁓ bring the wireless webcam in there. Say smile! ⁓ You're on camera, b no Dad, is that going on the internet? No, of course not. It's a live stream. You're on Twitch. You're on the YouTubes. Yeah, no, so that that was good. He's pretty happy with it. And then the oldest got his braces off today, so that was exciting. That is a big day. Yeah, yeah. Tell him to wear his retainer because they'll all go away if he doesn't. I had a I had a patient that he didn't wear his retainer, we had to put the braces back on 'cause his teeth shifted so badly. ⁓ yeah, no, we're Well mine I just like they shifted and I didn't get braces again. Wait, do you need a retainer after braces? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ that's gonna be some bad news for my son. You don't have to wear it all all all the time. Obviously. In in the beginning you you should. Yeah. Until it comes to a point that okay, just nighttime is okay. Yeah, the oldest has like the ones that are like I don't know like what they do, like cement them onto like the back of his like top and bottom front teeth. ⁓ it's a a lingual arch. Yeah. My wife has that too. So she was like, I know all about this. ⁓ that's good. That's like a surefire way to prevent the teeth from shifting because They have the teeth have a tendency to go back to the original position before braces. It's like kinda like muscle memory. Yeah. So without the retainer, they just go, ⁓ I wanna go over here and over there. Right. Sporadic calcium chewing devices. You know, one Interesting thing that we had learned. I don't know if this is like an every state thing or if it was just here in Wisconsin, but I have dental insurance through my company. And two years ago the wife also got dental insurance through hers. And the way that it works here is they'll apply one as the primary and then they apply the other one. You can like overlap them. So like we paid next to nothing for a lot of this like orthodontic stuff which is great. ⁓ fantastic. Yeah. Yeah, I'm glad like ⁓ you could do that with medical too, like list one as ⁓ primary and one as secondary. But it's always nice and one ⁓ doctor I used to work with, like they only had like one primary insurance for medical. But the husband got supplemental insurance through his job and they were curious like how'd it work. But like they end up not paying co pays or any of that or Deductibles or co insurance or something like that. I was just like, Wow, that is fantastic because I hate all that stuff. Right. I want that. Yeah, it doesn't work like that here. It's like if we have like my health insurance and ⁓ my wife could get health insurance through her company, but it would only be applied to her and she would get kicked off of mine. And then th she wouldn't be able to like use it with the kids. So it's like they would have to be either on mine or hers. They wouldn't be able to like wall. Is that a brick wall? No. Let's find out. I went over it. Yeah, let's see. Anything else this week? I'm almost done with Dungeon Crawler Carl. So there's that. I think I'm Yeah. I think I just died. Book one. That book is made for you. Yeah, the the amount of times that I've read a line that is like a Carl line, I'm like, I'm sure I've said some very close variation to what he's saying right now, just in real life. Exactly. Like I I I feel like the entire time I'm reading that series, I'm thinking like, this is Bob. This is Bob right here. That's Bob. Take it inside your pocket. ⁓ man. There were so many times there's like little snippets here and there in the book that I wanted to like to send to you, but I was like, ⁓ that would be spoilers. But I'm glad that you're reading it. Thank you. Thank you for satisfying my heart. ⁓ man, no, it's a good book. It's definitely number one on my list, the whole Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I think Project Hail Mary is my second favorite book. Okay. ⁓ number three is ⁓ tied with Exiles Starter villain. ⁓ yeah, and Exile Which is also your favorite book. ⁓ just like tapped into our soul with that one. It's somewhere in our one of the county libraries and I was like, maybe one day when I finished all like the books in my reading list, I'll touch in on that. Torture yourself. Just see like I because I'm curious, like How bad is it? It is I I'd rather shove my head up a skunk's asshole than to read that book again. ⁓ my goodness. That's very something that was a line from Dungeon Crawler Cross. He did say something about a skunk's in one Yeah, that was probably my favorite line so far. I'm pretty sure that I one of my common ones that I throw out that my wife is always just like, like, why are you so disgusting? I'm just like I'm like, yeah, you know, like this I'm like, it smells like a dead raccoon's asshole that's been laying out in the sun for a month and she's just like, Why do you say things like that? I'm like, listen, I have talents. I can't control how they manifest. All I can do is present them to the world. Ain't it the truth? You were put here for a raisin. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What else ⁓ we I took my third oldest earlier today to after all the other stuff that happened today to pick up her bass because she's gonna be playing bass and orchestra this year. ⁓ nice. Yeah, and it's massive. Yeah, I was gonna say it's big. Like do they have like a a Children's size or kid size? Yeah, so she's got I think the second smallest size, which is a one quarter, and it's about as tall as I am, so it's like almost six feet tall. Is this like a viola? ⁓ a viola? It's like a cello? Yeah, it's like similar to like a cello, but ⁓ my wife has a cello and this kid's base is bigger than her cello, like an adult cello. It's huge. It's not a contest. It's not the size that matters. Yeah, so the oldest plays percussion, but but he never practices at home, so it's not a problem. But seriously, buddy, you need to practice at home. You gotta stop not practicing at home. He's such a turd. Yeah, when when your parent is telling you to play drums in the house, you're lucky. Yeah, he doesn't have like drums just yet. He does play them, but ⁓ he has like a ⁓ my god. I think it's called like a bell kit. It's kinda like a xylophone. Nice. Yeah. And he's good with that. He's good with all the other ones that he plays. He's got the timing and stuff. Then second oldest plays the violin he's been playing for a long time. And I I played I play the butt flute and make farts. And then the littlest just randomly breaks out into song and she's like, Guys, I'm gonna do a performance right now. And then she she she did one earlier today and she was just singing all this random stuff and like there was like some part about like I don't even know, like like she's like, and we're gonna jump together and eternity and we're like, What have you been watching on YouTube? ⁓ Like this sounds weird. Sounds like an anime intro. Yeah, an anime intro. ⁓ yeah, she's yeah, she doesn't have a a headset mic, but she probably would want one, but ⁓ yeah, I'm not gonna we're not gonna let that happen. But yeah. That's reasonable. ⁓ Yeah, yeah. Aaron, how was your week? ⁓ not bad. You know, ⁓ another week of work kicking my butt. and you know, just getting home and being absolutely exhausted. I still have not finished editing. Last week's episode at the time of this recording on Saturday evening. ⁓ sorry everyone. ⁓ I will be trying to spit that out later this evening. Well, at this point, maybe ⁓ maybe tomorrow. If if you want us to get the episodes out earlier, you can join our Patreon that we don't have yet. Yes, ⁓ w it'll be the sugar daddy tier. Yeah. ⁓ no worries. Yeah. But let's see. so one of the things like we are kind of struggling with at the moment is the boys used to share a bedroom downstairs. Okay. And we are trying to put them in their own bedrooms now. ⁓ 'cause you know, they're getting older and they're, you know, needing their own personal space. Yeah. Which means moving them to the upstairs. Now, our house is an old New England house, so it's kinda wonky shaped. Mm-hmm. So we kinda have like two separate upstairs. One is one sec one upstairs and they're not connected to each other. ⁓ one upstairs is an unfinished attic space. And the other upstairs is just two bedrooms. Like you go up the stairs and like your only option is to turn left into a bedroom or right into a bedroom. So but That section of the house is usually kind of like closed off and kind of feels a little separated and you know, kinda makes them feel uncomfortable sleeping up there. Yeah. You know, so they're like, ⁓ like they've been sleeping on the couch for a while. And it's like, ⁓ I got we gotta gotta make their rooms like more homey, more like so they're more comfortable in them. You know, so been trying to do things to push that. And one of the things I did was I bought each of them their own little like display cases. for their rooms and those have lights in them and stuff. So there's like these it's like this glass display case that is about like shelf height. ⁓ like if you're standing up to it like ⁓ l or or I should say counter height. So they can put like, you know, their display like their Legos or whatever it is, whatever project or train set they're currently working on. ⁓ cool. And it also provides more light for the room. So I put those together this weekend. And I bought a cheap little wood chipper to try and get rid of the the giant pile of branches that has been in our yard since we moved to this house and has only gotten larger. ⁓ man, please give us a wood chipper review. Soap, did you hear that? Soap, did you hear that? Did you hear ⁓ all right. ⁓ Discussion about wood chippers and we we have a need for mulch a lot of plant debris. What did he get? You know, bonus, ⁓ you can use it to get rid of a body. So That's exactly what I was gonna say. Thank you. Thank you, Bob. ⁓ What I got was a a TikTok purchase. Like it it says wood chipper on the front. ⁓ that's amazing. What? It was like under 200 bucks. I would have never thought to get a wood chipper off TikTok. They sell some random stuff, man. Yeah, that's wild. It they sell everything. It's it's just another general marketplace. Like it's a dumping ground for cheap products. TikTok's kinda gone down yeah, TikTok's kinda gone downhill. Like it's all like ads and stuff now, unfortunately. The honest review of TikTok. They're successful ads at least. Yeah, at least the ads that I get is stuff that I actually buy and want, and I'm like, ⁓ that is cheaper than I would get it here. Yeah. So I mean, ⁓ so far I put a nice little dent in my ⁓ wood pile. It doesn't do very large sizes of sticks and I jammed it a few times already. But I think it's can get the bulk of the stuff which is the main issue. I could probably take some of that off your hands. The biggest stuff. ⁓ the biggest stuff would just burn. Okay, well good, there you go. But you know, I I was trying to burn it all before, but because of fire laws in the town, like I was just doing it in like a little brazier so I didn't have to try and like take out like a permit or something and not get like a call from the fire department or a visit from the fire department. Yeah. Be like, ⁓ you you have to put that out. But that was taking forever. So My hope is with the wood chipper I can just kinda Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, two birds. Yeah, and and I'm also making wood chips now that I can kinda put in spots that I don't wanna mow anymore. Yeah, we get ⁓ free mulch through our county. ⁓ we just have to go to one of the sites to pick it up. Unfortunately we live very close to one that's like less than five minute drive. But after a while, like it becomes a little bit worrisome and then That one time last year I used that service chip drop. Yeah. ⁓ As mentioned in a previous episode. Yes, in a one of the early episodes. But I don't need that much 'cause like it's it's just It's a mountain. It it is, it's a mountain. And we have a pile of wood and plant debris building up and I was like, you know what, we'll just have it turn into ⁓ compost on its own. But after three years we're like, okay. ⁓ I still need more mulch. I always need more mulch. I could use it for browns for my c compost or I could just use it for the our flower garden. And off and on like I get the weekly emails from Hazard Fright about the coupons that they have. One of the Harbor Freight by the way. ⁓ sorry. Harbor Fre I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. ⁓ please don't sue me. Hazard Fright Yeah, don't sue our hazard fright. being so hazardous. if if we could do this in post and change it to Harbor Friends. I'm I'm gonna guess that they're not listening. Spooky season Harbor Freight. But ⁓ they have ⁓ a sale the coupon ⁓ sale like Their wood chippers that they have is like a coupon for ninety nine dollars for a wood chipper for like small like diameter sticks and branches. And I was like, I'm like that would take like a small dent like good dent out of our pile that's building up in our backyard. Yeah. But like we s we need so many other things, so it's like kinda like n it's one of those nice to have quality of life things, but not like high priority. That and a pressure washer, that would be nice too. I have a pressure washer. ⁓ you do. I chip it over. I do. I got it from Aldi 'cause every once in a while they have them and I think I paid like sixty five bucks for it. Not bad. Yeah, and it works super good. It I mean it's you know, like you have to like plug it in and walk around with the extension cord, but like I mean it's you know, in the hose too, but it it's pretty powerful. Nice. ⁓ Bob, you know the ⁓ birdbath that that you you got ⁓ from Aldi? Yeah in your yard. Such a good deal. We we ended up getting ⁓ one as well. ⁓ nice. We got two actually. Okay. ⁓ but in our our front yard in the Florida sun, the plastic melted and bent No cleaning tower pizza, like literally Yeah, like within like a few hours. 'Cause it gets over a hundred degrees in our front yard. Yeah, like it we don't have any trees and we're trying to grow shrubs, ⁓ like tall shrubs to create shade, but like without like i it gets over like a hundred degrees in our front yard. ⁓ and so like within a few hours like soap noticed that it's kinda leaning. We're like, ⁓ and then like it rained the next day and it all that water made it tip and lean even more. We're like, Okay All right, maybe it's it's good for heat but not subtropical Florida heat. Yeah. Luckily they have a really good return policy. They they do. They do then. Yeah. We're like, we want a birdbath too. I guess we'd have to make it like a stone birdbath, I think is w what's in our future. Yeah, you gotta get one of those concrete ones. Or a fancy stone one. Wow, that's crazy. Yeah. We're like, ⁓ wow. Just picture it like a cartoon, like it's just slowly like drooping over. It's like you ⁓ Didn't believe me at first. He's like, ⁓ you didn't stake it in well enough. I mean that's that's fair because like I put ours like on like a little uneven spot and when it filled up with water it did start to pull itself out of the ground and like fall over and I was like, ⁓ I wanted it to work. I was like, Ooh, we got one finally. Like we wanted one in the front and backyard. Yeah. So we we tested front yard first and ⁓ one in the front, one in the back. Wow. I think my birdbath I don't remember it broke somehow. I think maybe I left it out in the winter and it cracked. What material is it made out of? ⁓ it's plastic. Okay. Other thing I did this week I I haven't really I didn't really watch anything. But I've been doing the audio books as well 'cause I was trying to keep up with you, Bob, for Dungeon Crawler Carl. And then Since I was listening to it on Audible, it just like they did this added this thing where they're like, Here's the next book in the series and they just auto like downloads the next one. I'm like, Well, all right. Okay, fine. I actually I was trying to like stay on the same book with you so that way we could like go through them at the same time. I'm already on like book three now. ⁓ man. So No, you just have to keep re-listening the same book over and over and over again. ⁓ that's thoughtful. No, I was like, I think I'll do that too. 'Cause I'm I'm on the eighth one. Just I just finished through the halfway point of the eighth one and I ⁓ I like to go back and reread them. No. What is that? ⁓ that's the most recent one, right? Yeah. In inevitable no, not inevitable. Parade of Horribles. Yes, Parade of Horribles. That's the most recent? It is. ⁓ there's there's a bunch of new books that came out recently. What were they? And I I didn't listen to any of them. There was a new there's so there's the new Dungeon Crawler. Carl, who else came out with a new book? There we ⁓ Martha Wells. ⁓ really? I th I want to say I saw a new ⁓ a new murder box. ⁓ yeah, earlier in the year, yeah. Yeah. I i I just saw it pop up on Audible. And then there was another one. That came out at like the same week as Dungeon Crawler Carl book eight. ⁓ a n ⁓ there's a new there was a new Bobiverse book. ⁓ I I haven't listened to any of these new books yet. Because like I I was I was originally trying to listen to the the new dungeon crawler Carl and it been so long I'm like I'm lost. I have no no frickin' idea what's going on. I forget who all the characters are. Like so I I needed to start over anyways. I've been sucked into He Who Fights with Monsters. That's a really good In fact I haven't I'm not caught up on your pot ⁓ on your podcast episodes. I'm actually glad to hear that there's only one to catch up on right now. God what versus Monsters? What was the book you said? ⁓ he who fights with monsters. Aaron had ⁓ pointed me to it. And it's ⁓ really fun to listen to. Like the guy's got a anti authoritarian like attitude and he's just really goofy. Yes. It's still a lit RPG, but it's at least in the beginning, only he has that kind of like video game style interface that he's aware of. Yeah, so he he he gets like summoned to another universe by accident. From a you know, a summoning gone a Rai, the main character, ⁓ in this story, Jason. Because that world is ⁓ you know, inherently magic, he gets he ends up with some magic, and the magic he ends up with they say they're like, ⁓ yeah, the magic tries to like shape itself to something that you can understand. So ⁓ like and and make and make it inherently like intuitive. Yeah, intuitive, some kind of familiarity. Mm-hmm. That's a cool concept. Yeah. So because we have video games. So he gets a video game interface, yeah. That's awesome. Yeah, he gets a c he has a quest system. Interesting. Nice. We've got the video book edges. I haven't listened to it yet. I'm on book ten now. ⁓ well. Yeah, that that's that's a series that's been going for a long, long while. It's it's similar to Dungeon Crawler Carl in that there's a lot of humor, but there's also a lot of like heavy s heavy parts. Yes. So it it's an it it's a yeah, it's a nice balance. I like the I really like those kind of books that give you like yeah, there's real life heavy stuff in it, but also like mostly just a lot of silly. I was talking to my buddy, ⁓ who reads a lot of books, and he was s somebody tried to get him into a lid IPG, but apparently the like fight scenes were just like and then he rolled a ten. And and like ⁓ this and then this happened. And it was just so bad. Boring he said. I said, Well no. I I got him book one of He Who Fights With Monsters, and I was like, Yeah, just read through this. It's much more like the story. You know, there's characters, there's like things that happen. It's not just one fight after another while they describe like a poor dungeon master would. Yeah. Yeah, that doesn't sound like that would be very exciting to listen to. It's like if I'm gonna do that I might as well just go play like Dungeons and Dragons with somebody. Yeah. Exactly. Right? Mm. That's why I don't really watch like a lot of like gaming streamers because I'm like I'd rather just be playing a game if I'm that interested in it instead of watching someone else play it. Well that's because we're old. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if that's a big a g age thing. Yeah. But yeah, I don't get it either. A lot of people apparently do it there's a term for it, ⁓ A lot of people second screen things. ⁓ yeah. So they will ⁓ ha like, you know, have something on to have like background noise or whatever while they're actively doing something else. Okay. Yeah, but how well does that work? ⁓ on o honestly, for people with ADHD, like very well. Yeah, it probably does work super well. ⁓ okay. ⁓ because it it it gives you it gives you a degree of like Like you're like, ⁓ I need to like do the dishes. Let me put on like a v you know, a video games, you know, playthrough or a or a let's play or ⁓ you know, someone streaming and it it gives you that like I can split my focus enough that I'm getting enough outside stimulation that I can do this boring ass task and get it done. Or I I guess some people like watch multiple things and have dip multiple screens going at once. That right. ⁓ okay, I've done that too. ⁓ actually There 'cause like there there are times where I'll be playing in Power World and ⁓ it's like, ⁓ let me sit there and build and it's gonna take a minute. ⁓ what's let me switch to my phone for two seconds and scroll TikTok. Well that sounds different. I don't know. Like my son will I I s I hook my son up with two monitors and he just has like YouTube on the right or a Discord on the right with a stream and he's like playing on the left. And I don't know. I guess it's efficient, but I don't know, I wouldn't be able to produce anything. Yeah, me I'm in the same boat. Like I I don't mind like well before we had like we could custom make our playlists with streaming music. Like, you know, I'd have the r back then like I'd have the radio on or now I can just have my own music on with like Apple Music. ⁓ Or I'd have like a T V show or movie that I've like watched a million times running in the background. That I could do. Like but I c hearing or watching s someone game, like I feel like that's different. What you guys one of you guys said earlier, like instead of you'd rather play the video game than watch someone play. I'm the same way with real life sports. Yeah. For some re e even when I was a kid, like I'd I I'd watch football or basketball or wrestling with my dad. I just fall asleep. Mm-hmm I d I that's a good equivalent. And but like I but I love playing this actual sport. ⁓ wrestling I've never played but ⁓ other sports I've played. But ⁓ I l I enjoy that but I just can never sit and watch or even a live game. Like I d I don't know what's for why my brain is like that. But ⁓ I don't I don't know. I agree. ⁓ thank you. Yeah. Yeah, I Yeah, I don't like watching sports. I can watch them occasionally, but like I'm not paying a ton of attention when I do. ⁓ I just yeah, I'm the same way. I remember like it'd be like the Super Bowl and like my dad and my brother would be like, you know, like yelling at the T V and I'd be like playing a video game and they'd be like, Like, why aren't you paying attention to the game? I'm like, 'Cause I don't like this. No I did it just to be with my dad when I was a kid 'cause I was I knew he'd liked watching That stuff and I just want to be with him, but like as I got older I'm like, I can't do this anymore. I guess there were times like when I was sitting on his lap, I might have peed on his pants when I when I fall asleep. That's fair. So every every once in a while he'll wake me up. He's like, Did you pee? This this is five years ago, by the way. Yeah, okay. It was like when I was five and under. I swear, audience, whoever's listening, I am a grown up. I'm an adult. I mean you were just talking about birdbaths. I think that pretty much clears you. Milk is cold as ice. She's actually a serial killer and we just bring her on so she doesn't kill all of us. It's a contingency plan. A contingency plan that don't kill us. It's to help keep soap alive. ⁓ yeah, I there's one streamer that I will watch. I think his name is like Old Time and he just does like Call of Duty prop hunt and he does Mecha Chameleon now too. So like Mecha Chameleon I'm just kinda like, Well, I'll play this game. So like but that's how I found out about that game was like watching him play it a couple times and I was just like, ⁓ that looks like fun. But like I am never gonna play prop hunt. Like it's just it's like a PvP heavy game. It's just not what I want to do. But like watching people like hide as like these props throughout a level and like other people running around like trying to kill them is hilarious to me. Okay. Yep. I've seen that in Fortnite and Roblox. Mm-hmm. My son'll play that. He'll record it and stream it and stuff. Yeah, it's super interesting to watch for me, but That's only because I'm like I would never play this, but I think the concept is entertaining enough that I can like occasionally watch like Instagram video or like a TikTok of it. Mm-hmm. Gotta be careful with them Roblox. Yeah, Roblox is dangerous. I saw ⁓ you saw what was it? There was a dude was doing ⁓ a th I well there I I don't I I d I don't know who this guy was, but he was showing Chris Hansen how dangerous it is on Rainbow. And they were doing like a doing a thing with Chris Hansen specifically about a live thing on a stage and watch how fast it takes before we get approached by somebody. And it's like we're gonna make an account right now, live, in front of everybody, and we'll see how long it takes before somebody comes up and sa asks for like our age and details or whatever. And it was like minutes. ⁓ It's predatory in more ways than that too. And and then and then because somebody at Roblox saw the stream, minutes later their account got banned. ⁓ man That's a way to solve the problem. So yes, because so Roblox is not dealing with that predatory issue. They are just shush shit up. They they're making so much money too. Like it's like these kids playing on on like their parents phone or computer or whatever and they just like all these things that you just click okay and then suddenly it's a five hundred dollar charge. man. Yeah, we you know, a couple of the kids played it for a bit and my third oldest was like really upset, but like I had like all the chat stuff shut off and all that, but like still I was just like, Hey, listen, like there's just like too many like bad people doing bad things on this game and it's just not safe for you and she was like, Okay. We grew up on the like wild west right of the internet. Yeah. Yeah. Crazy I mean the biggest thing we had was like multi user domains. Mm-hmm. Just like like text based. ⁓ yeah. It was basically a chat room with some game architecture layered on top of it. Right. That was bad. Yeah, th that was a fun time. I miss I miss Dragon Ball X Man. That ⁓ those are some fun times. They were text based games. Don't scoff. Yeah. You don't know what it is. I couldn't get in it get into it. Yeah, it's alright. You are in a room. There was a tapestry on the wall. Look tapestry. It is a tapestry. Well that Wild West, that's how Soap and I met. What? Yeah. ⁓ yeah, just back before it was cool to meet people over the internet. Yeah. Well, so you guys are you you may have like started that trend. The the original hipsters. like the tracks. One of my friends had this website and he made a forum and I found soap through that forum. But our friend like took down the I guess he couldn't maintain the the forum. But there is also this other forum that we know of, so we just end up ⁓ regrouping there and that's how we met. So it's kinda like mutual friends. It's a whole community of weird music and flash cartoons. Yeah. Newgrounds. ⁓ yeah. It wasn't Newgrounds, but it was adjacent. Yeah, it's adjacent to Newgrounds. So that's like it was like a mix of You didn't know him in person, did you? How did you find Pain and Wagon? ⁓ through another forum. Forum Yeah, I guess mutual mutual forums. The the that forum I was downloading a song from somebody on Napster and and they Totally legally you owned the you owned the disc. They messaged me like, Hey, you download a couple of songs from me and and ⁓ you know, you like Cool music, you should join this forum. And ⁓ that's that's how ⁓ all this got connected. That's like I've also got some free beer and ice cream in my basement. Why don't you come over? The the bulkhead's unlocked. Meeting strangers on the internet. Yeah, yeah, we'll get there. It's a it's a hallway, but you know. It's ⁓ pretty straight. Theme of the month is mental health. ⁓ it's a good theme. Bob, do you have a question? Do I have a question? ⁓ no, I can't no ⁓ Alright, so my my all right, so my question, I want you gu all everyone and listeners, think about this. There is one thing that you could do tomorrow, actually do tomorrow. Not like if you could do, no, what can you actually do tomorrow for yourself that is something nice for yourself? I'm not saying you have to go do it. I'm just saying think about that. Yeah, just conceptualize. Yes, conceptual yeah, exactly. Is it like a I can answer that right now. That's an easy one because I already did it today. I went to Cranky L's and I got a donut and I got a f coffee too. ⁓ And I and I could do it again tomorrow if I wanted to. You deserve a donut. Maybe I will. You do deserve a donut and a and a coffee that you would enjoy. That's kinda nice. Took my one. I was gonna say I'm gonna get a egg and cheese bagel sandwich and a coffee at my local bagel shop. ⁓ that sounds good too. Think I might actually do that. Yeah. Right. Well that it's inspi it that's an inspiring question. Thank you, Aaron. Yeah. I don't think I'm gonna do what what I'm thinking of though. Like I've never gotten a massage and that would probably be like pretty badass. It is. Milk's like, no, Todd, do it. Yeah, do it. Do it. Well, I mean, you you could you could make you could ⁓ make an appointment for you and the wife and you know, make it a make it a date. So ⁓ my wife is weird about that kind of stu like strangers touching her. Just just like nope, nope, nope. No, listen, like the door to it is like through an alley and you go up a flight of stairs and like they have this thing called a happy ending and they say it's great. They might want to examine your kidney too. Yeah. You know they'll lighten the load. You'll you'll walk away with only one kidney. ⁓ my goodness. Wow, what a loadoff. They really like the left side of my body feels so much lighter today. Yeah. They're they're magicians. And the sepsis is almost healed. ⁓ god. None of this is in any way is meant to disparage people who are masseuses by trade. I got my wife a gift card to ⁓ massage. Okay. And ⁓ and she just let time pass because she was unsure. But I don't know, she needs a massage. A professional massage. I can only do so much. I call it Squizzlin. I just poke her back basically. Squizzlin. You you you need you need you need this done by somebody who knows what they're doing. Yeah. And so like she so she let a year pass and then the place closed down and so that was it. That's too bad. Shazam. Storytime. Would she be able to wanna do a spa day with a friend? Be able to want to? Yeah. I think she has the ability to want to do it, but she will not want to do it. I only did that once in my life and it was like one of the best investments I made ⁓ like it was with one of my good friends in Massachusetts. We used to work with each other and we're like, you know what? Like we're always like trying to get things done, be good at responsible like just splurge on ourselves. So we found like a I can't remember where it was. Was it in Braintree? It's just like some like spotty like had like a sugar scrub massage and like exfoliating. What was their spaghetti policy? ⁓ very good spaghetti policy. You can bring your own A spaghetti and if you want you can use their sauces or you can bring your own sauce. Yeah, I mean do they allow Ziploc bags full of spaghetti? It has to be the zipper kind. The one with the little zipper on it. None of that like click and s seal with your finger things. It's it yeah. ⁓ man. Now I wanna know what it ⁓ Aaron's is. ⁓ I don't know. I mean if you wanna think about it, I've got a funny story related to that Ziploc bag it just reminded me of. Yeah. Please. So ⁓ so we do at my job without giving too much away about company or anything like that, we do like a lot of like reviewing of like customer comments to see if there's anything that could be like improved or changed or whatever to like make the customer experience better. And a lot of times it could be related to like an issue with a product or like, you know, somebody suggesting, ⁓ you guys should sell this or whatever. One of my coworkers sent a picture in like our team chat and it was somebody had like complained about like a Ziploc bag that they bought that was leaking, and it clearly says leak proof on the copy on the website. And the picture of the bag though was what drew everyone's attention because it was like a gallon bag. And it was half filled with this translucent orange liquid. And this this coworker of mine was like, who the hell is putting tang in a Ziploc bag? And I was like, I don't know. It could be someone was like, it could be high C. And I was like, no, it's like an adult that wanted Capri's son, but they didn't want the little pouches because it's not enough. So they had to put it in a gallon bag. Yeah, once you stick the straw in, that's pretty much it. Right. I was like, Yeah, they need to make these with the little like straw like target hole like they have on those. Yeah. Also like it was very like concerning, like what is this orange liquid in this gallon bag? You know, that could be something. Like your company could produce large straws with like a point and sell those Bags, you know, Ziploc is a brand, but I'm sure they got their own thing going. Yeah, they do. With that foil ⁓ square on it. Yeah. You could corner the market. That's right. You know that giant with the help of anonymous company. I thought you were gonna say that it was soup. No I mean who's putting soup in Ziploc bags? But it didn't hold. I think that's the that's the real like crux. Like you get the R and D tool. Well yeah, once once you once you put the straw in, it's not gonna this is a legitimate thing though for for like broth. Like people put it in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer. But so like here's but ⁓ here's the worst part about this though is that like The the picture wasn't like the customer sending a picture with their own orange liquid in the bag. Like this is the picture that is on the company's website. That's what the photo is of the item. So it's like here's this bag and it's just a hand holding up the bag with orange liquid in it. And I'm like, Why do we have this? Why? Yeah. So the corporate office is hoarding gallons of tang pre mixed. And there weren't any part of the bigger. How many bags did it take to get that shot just right? ⁓ yeah, it's ⁓ probably too many. That was very strange. Very strange. What is I wanna know. I need to know what is the orange liquid. Maybe it's acetone. ⁓ you know, it could be. Maybe it's mayable. Maybe it's maple beans blended up and ⁓ filtered so it's translucent. Explains why it's leaking. So, Aaron, what's your you could do tomorrow then? I still don't know. I mean I'm I'm trying to think of s something like non money ⁓ related. 'Cause I mean, like, I guess I could go spend money on myself, but I don't know. I feel like there's gotta be a b an answer that doesn't involve that. But we were raised in this capitalist hellscape, so what else can I think of? Is there some kind of like woodland area around you could go climb some trees? Hm. That's free. At my age At my age that sounds like a free trip to the hospital. Not a not a free trip. Free. Well it's yeah. For now. Yeah, free until you get the bill. And then you gotta change your name before then so you don't get the bill. That reminds me of something my father always told me. It's only illegal ⁓ when you get caught. Right. Yep. ⁓ boy. Yeah, I mean, I definitely could do I have plans tomorrow? I mean, besides editing that I have to finish Yeah, I mean I guess if I could tomorrow, something I I could do is ⁓ go spend some time out in the in the natures. Yeah. I always f that's something I always forget to do is I mean, a lot of time I'm outside for work, so I'm like, I've had enough outside time, thank you. Yeah. But I don't re I'm not really enjoying it. I'm just like sitting out there like taking photos and like having the sun beat down on me. Yeah. Yeah. No, you need some trees over here. Mm-hmm. Yeah, exactly. Some trees, a lazy breeze, and ⁓ maybe some tunes and a a brewski. I have those in the fridge. ⁓ there you go. You could do this. Nature by choice. Yeah, are you are you guys all gonna do these things now? I am I might. I might go back to Cranky Owls and get another donut 'cause that donut was so f good. It's always good. Nice. What kind of Yeah they're they're so good because they've got that like nice like sugary glaze on the outside too and it's like a big donut. Like you could like you could like beat somebody to death with that donut if you put it in a sock. It's so big. A big donut. You gotta get a the you gotta you gotta get a long john. Uh-huh a dick donut? Yeah, the the d donut. You know, a dick donut, right? You know, like in your mouth up your ass. Clearly you guys haven't played dispatch enough. No. Got to watch the second episode. That was sweet. ⁓ it's so good. You g always gotta pick a d donut every time. Yeah, maybe I will get a d donut. I almost got a d donut when I went there, but I got the lemon filled. Lemon is also excellent. If I could treat myself, ⁓ but the place that I would like to treat it doesn't exist anymore. ⁓ well then you can't do it. Yeah. Yeah, that was the thing. It had to be something that you could do. Yeah, something that you can tangibly do tomorrow. Or could conceivably do tomorrow. Unless it's you could find do your research and find a place that could emulate whatever it was from that place well enough. Yeah, nobody could try to relive it. ⁓ you know, my wife makes very good banana bread. ⁓ we made banana I made a whole bunch of banana bread last year 'cause like We have our house came with a banana tree and last year's batch was such a good batch. I was like, ⁓ my gosh, these bananas are gonna go bad like like what am I gonna do? So I just I like made banana ⁓ bread like every week to sew the bananas and I was just like I w I wanted to send it to you guys but I don't know how it would hold in shipping 'cause ⁓ my gosh, like but it was like one of the best batches of banana bread I've I've ever A maid. But ⁓ thank you. I don't know. I feel like the other thing is it's depending on the weather. I wouldn't mind doing like a nature walk thing or just like leisurely walk around, but it all is depending on the weather 'cause we still have hot subtropical heat. Right. Yeah. Yeah, if it's muggy and gross out. 'Cause if i at a certain threshold then my immune disorder starts to get triggered and then it's like, Okay, gotta get back home in Reverse this or it's just gonna escalate. Right. Maybe at the at night when it cools down or something like that. ⁓ a sunset walk at the pier. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Did we bring you to this? ⁓ yeah, we did, Bob, when you visited. What the pier? Yeah. It was like when you guys went to the ⁓ the restaurant. Yeah, the restaurant that was down at the end of the pier. Yeah, that was fun. Little beach there. Yeah, that was a nice spot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it was a really good time. Well, ⁓ we did a sunset. Sunset walk there. Was it a couple weeks ago? Yeah. There there's a ⁓ baby dolphin that hangs out around there with its mom. ⁓ yeah, it's been on all ⁓ that's cute. On all the social media like for locally, like on Reddit and Instagram and we got to see it and we're like I saw her I saw the baby dolphin. ⁓ it's a whale. Is it a whale? What is that what is that video? It's herd or something. Yeah, if ⁓ Todd was still here it'd be quoting that. Think you gotta call the aquarium or something. Like the these two guys with thick Boston accents on a boat and there's like a sunfish that's like like floating on its side. Jay. Yeah. That's what it is. I was in Ravia today. ⁓ did you get to go see ⁓ Did you see a baby whale? ⁓ just my brother in law. Yeah, I I almost said his name but I didn't know if that was okay ⁓ to say. I don't know, he'd probably be fine, but Okay. But ⁓ yeah, it goes by Big Boss online. ⁓ okay, yeah. Yeah, it was nice when he was able to join us for Mecha Chameleon. He helped guide us through ⁓ Sons of the Forest like Whoa. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, he was our OG tour guide for that one. Yeah. Thank you very much for your guidance. It is much appreciated. Thank you, big boss. Yeah, stinky big bus. Did you say stinky? Stinky Big Boss? ⁓ okay. Thanks, Stinky. It's a weird way to thank ⁓ Did you have a question? I am gonna come up with a question on the fly because I love that. And you know what? I was inspired by the dick donut. Thank you for reminding me of that precious gift to the world. For your mental health, you have the power to eat the donut of your choice, and it will bestow upon you the capabilities to completely soothe your soul and ease your mind of all the problems going on. What is the donut that is going to do that? ⁓ I mean Boston cream generally already does a pretty good job of that. In in round form or in in long john form? ⁓ I don't know that I've had a Boston cream in Long John form. I feel like it it's always been like a what's the other one? It's like a Bavarian cream or whatever? Yeah. Nobody nobody does a proper Boston cream in like other Bavarian Donut forms, I feel like. Yeah, I mean it's kinda like a potato tomato situation, right? Like they're kinda similar, but like kinda not. But I mean basically it's just like actual nice vanilla custard in a bavarian cream versus like pre like, you know, shake it in a container, mix it up like vanilla pudding, like jello style. So a trashy dick donut is what you're saying. Probably, yeah. The dick donut from the the wrong side of the tracks that you might get a disease from it, but you're willing to take the risk because it it's still just as good as as the other donuts. ⁓ my god, yeah, what what what can I say? I'm not a classy girl. You know what? You don't have to be. I like what I like. Yeah. Sometimes you like a dirty dick donut. I'm wondering, is this too grown up for my grown up years? No, I'm I'm I'm gonna be. kicking myself next week when I have to edit all of this and I'm like like bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep. ⁓ my goodness. That's all right. It's worth it. What's your donut milk? What would be your mind easing donut? I haven't had a donut in a very, very long time. Because my diet has changed in the past ten years, but having to think back what I used to like. ⁓ gosh. There is this one at Donkey's what I really liked as a kid. Is it like butternut crunch? ⁓ yeah. Yeah. They don't have those anymore, but they were good. Seasonally. I think they come around seasonally. ⁓ Do they? Okay. That and the French Kruller. Cruler? Crullas are good. Crullah sorry, Krella. That Krulla guy. Give me a Krella. Crella. A Krella and a medium regular. Yeah. Yeah. Jay. It's a baby Krella. You go to Cumbies and get a pack of Mobies while I get a crow. ⁓ my gosh. Yeah, those were my go to's as a kid. As I got older I I just donut was like more of a treat, I guess. Kind of transitioned into bagels. Mm-hmm. The adult donut. You still get your statues. Yeah. Hey, what is a French crawler? It's like a it's like a ring shaped, but it's kinda like like ribbed around the side for your pleasure. For the pleasure ⁓ of And it's like it's glazed and it's almost kind of like I bet it is eggy custardy inside. Like it's it's definitely it's more like crepe in consistency, I feel like. So what makes it French? I think just like the the actual batter ⁓ I think is like a French style batter. It's not like you stick a tongue in there. You're not you're not making out with it. ⁓ my god. What else are you sticking in that French crawler? A duck donut. Ooh. You could duck a a jelly stick into a French crawler. ⁓ ear mouse, ear mouse. It wouldn't be jelly though, it would have to be a jam donut. ⁓ man. What did you do with that dick donut? I jammed it. It's gonna be like right in the donut hole. It's all pleep beep beep beep. This this might be another time where I'm just like, fuck it. Like it's I'm putting the explicit tag on. It's too much. ⁓ I think like my my go to, ⁓ not not even joking, like at Dunkies was ⁓ the the chocolate stick. ⁓ yeah. You get more once you go charge every dollar. ⁓ but you Yeah, I think the the world saving donut, sadly the local bakery doesn't exist anymore, but there's a Ube donut that they had that was amazing. There's a new donut place that opened up near us called Milky Donuts and it's like they call it like a California style donut. I don't know what that actually is. I haven't looked it up yet, but they have ube donuts, matcha. I don't know, maybe. No, I was being being a d I was trying to make I was trying to make a joke about California like the the sushi rolls. ⁓ I see what she did there. You're nasty. The way you said nasty even made it better. ⁓ Ay, ay, ay. We are all grown-ups. We're having grown-up conversations. We sure are. Okay, so an ube donut. I like that. What is an ube donut? These all these donuts, like I don't know the details. Ube's like a s a purple sweet potato. Really? Yeah, so I've I've had ⁓ actually Dunkin' Donuts a couple years ago. They had an Ube iced coffee drink that it was just like purple and it It doesn't really have like a very strong like sweet potato taste, at least like when they use it for flavoring like that. It just kinda tasted like marshmallow to me. But it just sound it sounds it sounds like pig Latin, like somebody trying to communicate like that they're in trouble. That's that's what a a ghost would say if they Yeah. If they only spoke pig Latin. ⁓ Ube. ⁓ she may or yeah ube's it was real trendy like a few years back. Like everything was Ube. Like Trader Joe's, like they had like a a whole thing that was like Ube for all the different things, Ube pancake mix and crackers. Ube for life, bro. Interesting. So good though. I enjoyed it. Todd, how about you? What's your mind refreshing donut? Mind refreshing, okay. I'll go with a coconut. Ooh not my favorite, but I f feel like it fits mind refreshing better. I feel like that that's like a nice, light, delicate one that could like cleanse the soul a little. Yeah, that's that's what I'm thinking. Something cool, refreshing, light. I guess if you get a ⁓ if if you get a coconut donut, it's gotta be one of them cake donuts. 'Cause as you all know, there are like two different types of donuts. There's the cake ones and then there's those airy, doughy ones. Right? Yeah, like the yeast like raised Dunkin' Donuts or Christmas creams. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ I think the the variety. Donkeys. Donkeys. Donkeys. Donuts. I think you can kinda pretend you can kinda pretend that it's food. Right? I feel like both of those options are kind of like pretending it's something. Yeah. I guess it'd have to be like what kind of mood I'm in. But like ⁓ what was the one in ⁓ when I was in college, my friend and I we'd go drive all the all the way to the one that was like in the Wellington Circle. ⁓ wouldn't that be Krispy Kreme? Yeah the Krispy Kreme, yeah. ⁓ 'cause it was like Wednesday nights or something, you get like they give out free Donuts or something and we're like, ⁓ we're poor college students, we're gonna drive that extra half hour for the free food. ⁓ man, I just had a flashback to when we all worked at Blockbuster and ⁓ the Dunkin' Donuts next door when I had a closing shift. Like sometimes they'd give you like a garbage bag full of donuts. ⁓ my god. Yeah. They're like, We're just gonna throw these out anyways, and there'd be like bagels in there sometimes too. ⁓ yeah. The muffins. That was awesome. Yeah. Back in the day. ⁓ I hope my wife never listens to this. I dated a girl ⁓ who worked at Ducka Donuts and like she would come visit me after work and she would just smell like coffee and she would have donuts. Like I mean, how can you ask for anything more? Yeah. Sorry, Todd's wife. ⁓ she won't listen. I'm gonna DM her right now. This will be the one time she listens and she'll be like, You fucking asshole. I knew you smelled like coffee and donuts the other night. That was like please, I swear. Jeez, that was many, many years ago. Mm which is what you're talking about? I don't think so. Okay. I've been with my wife for twenty different three different lifetime ago. Yeah, I remember when you started dating her. Yeah. Which was after the coffee girl. Yeah, for sure. We all know this. How did you guys meet? ⁓ through a friend. I went to a vocational high school and made friends with somebody there who worked in culinary, who was friends with my wife, and through circumstances after high school, met her and then we ⁓ stayed up playing emulators. ⁓ And then everybody else went home and she stayed up and played more emulators. Awww. Is that what you're calling it? ⁓ Super Mario Three. ⁓ nasty. Yep, that raccoon tail. ⁓ It was too much. I didn't know girls were doing that at that point in time. Nobody does the raccoon tail anymore. No, I was freaking Mario and I got that stupid leaf. ⁓ I can't believe you no longer I don't. Wait, did did everybody get their mental health down at it? I think everybody did, right? Down down. Donuts. ⁓ life co-op In in your mouth up your ass. ⁓ life co-op. Ready set go. I think the donuts are the life co-op this week, so That's fair. Okay. Transition No, we can do we can do legit life co ops. We can do legit life co-ops. ⁓ well fine. Donuts Donuts at your life co-op. I haven't had any donuts this week though, so I can't it. This is why you need to come out here so I can take you to Cranky L's and you can just pick like as many donuts as you want, whatever flavors, and you can just eat them. Yeah, I'll come in with like a ⁓ Red Sox cap and you know, holding the dunks coffee 'cause and I don't drink coffee and I'll be like, Yeah, you got a Boston cream and it'll be like, What? Yeah, ⁓ yeah, they they call it a Bavarian cream and Okay, so there there is a difference between Bavarian and Boston. It's ⁓ it's very similar to the whole ⁓ jelly and jam thing. But I think that it you could probably one goes in your mouth, one goes up your ass. You could probably save the planet a little if you got one d donut and like four regular donuts and just like inserted them all. And then onto onto the jelly stick. And make the ultimate donut, which has actually consisted of five donuts, four ring of donuts, and one stick. I see now. I see. You might even need to like cut it with a knife and serve it on a platter. Okay. This is like the Voltron of Donuts, but it's like one of those like spicy games that we find on Steam. ⁓ my goodness. So Bob, who's your life co op? Invisigal because of the No, I'd say my life co-op this week is my wife. Actually I I have like a handful of people as a result of my life circumstances that I'm not going into detail on at this point in time, but like you guys for sure, cause like I immediately just wanted to like talk to you guys about what was going on and looking for support. A few other people, a couple co-workers were like really good about it because like I got the news about what was going on fifteen minutes before I was supposed to be going into a meeting and like talking about a bunch of stuff. ⁓ so I had to like message a couple other people on my team and I was like, hey, can we push it off till like nine? Because I'm dealing with something right now. And then they were both just super cool about it and you know made it work. And then my wife, she's been very solid throughout all of this and very helpful and You know, I couldn't ask for a better partner. So, you know, thank you guys. Thank you, awesome coworkers, thank you to my wife's family too, who all have like reached out to make sure things are okay and offering to help in whatever ways they can. So much appreciated to see that kind of kindness coming back through. ⁓ I'm glad to hear that you've got so many people around you that are willing to support you. Yeah. 'Cause I mean, you're far away physically and it's not easy to like just read what's happening. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, no, it it's it's hard, you know? Like it's hard having like all these people spaced out that I would love nothing more than to just like be like, Hey, can we all get together and just talk? But like obviously we're miles apart and all that, but just like knowing that I can reach out to like certain people and it's just immediate support. That I think has been like the most impactful thing through all of this. Well you you you give that all I hope it's awful. Well you you were there for us so many times. Like yeah, like you're you're you know got your family to us. Yeah. Well put I don't even know this guy. I just do a podcast with this guy, he's a fucking stranger. I'm like d donuts all the time. ⁓ Asked me my age and if I wanted to join his podcast. ASL. ASL, yep. He wants to crank me with a donut? I'm like, what are you talking about? You know, in your mouth, up your ass ⁓ my goodness. Best part of that game. Who else has a life co op? In my co op I always say milk, ⁓ over anything else, just 'cause But what are gonna say this time? What about you, Milk? Does your lift go up? I don't think the audience wants to hear my answer. I think they're tired of my answer. it's definitely It's Princess Dona! Yes! No, no, no, no, no, no. It's it's it's Princess Dinadia, right? The Queen and Chonk. ⁓ wait, no. Yes, Queen and Chonk. It's definitely soap. For those who don't know, I have this very weird immune disorder that does spontaneous things and it's really hard to just go through life when s all this random stuff just pops at you when you just wanna like move forward and just get stuff done. But like I'm just thankful that soap was here to support me and get me through it while I recover. So thank you, Soap. And my cats for keeping me company while I recover. Our stinky senior cat babies. Excellent. How about Todd? I'm gonna say Bob. But not the Bob that's here. I kinda feel like ⁓ butthole for saying it like that now. No, so I got my new job thanks to a guy named Bob. So there's more than one good Bob out there, just so everybody knows. Amazing. No, he's he's got a last name that sounds very much like a a funny word. I don't want to call him out, otherwise I'd say it. Yeah. So he pretty much got me this job that I'm very excited about. And so ⁓ he's gonna be my life co op this week. Awesome. Thank you, Bob. Yeah, he's training for f Todd into his new job. All over the You're like actually Can I modify my life co-op, add some additional ones? All you guys. Our little core gaming group. I look forward to this every Saturday. Same, honestly. Sorry to sound corny, but like it just helps with so many things. It's just so good for like all different aspects, like when times get tough or Yeah. You know. Thank you guys. Absolutely. Thank you as well. Thank you. ⁓ No, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Go go thank yourself. Yeah. You mother thanker. All right, Aaron, do you have a life co-op? Yes, you are my life co-op, Bob. You are the life co-op. I know we already kinda did this, talked about this on the last episode, which we haven't aired. Yet because I'm still editing it. But I think or at least I think I think it was that episode, but we were just getting back into this has been really enjoyable and we're we're fumbling all over the in the same usual spots and that's okay. It doesn't matter. It's still fun. So I'm glad we're we're doing the thing. Yeah. We're consistently inconsistent. Yes. In the best way possible. Yeah. Yeah. The one constant is change. Yeah. I look forward to doing This podcast every week. I look forward to gaming when I can get on to game with you guys. It has been a very positive spot of my week every week. So I appreciate y'all. We appreciate you too. No, you. No, you appreciate it harder. Try it. Try it. That got me thinking of something that it's a thought I have on and off that comes through my brain. ⁓ ⁓ have you guys ever seen the what if series from Marvel? I know about it. I think s the first season. So like with that concept, every once in a while my brain would be like, What if my parents never immigrated to the US? What if I never met my friend who kinda like got me introduced to Soap? And if I never met soap, I would have never met you guys. Like the I my my my brain starts thinking like that, like what When I have eventually gone to the US is their fate and I would eventually met soap in you guys. I know what you mean. Is it's hard to think of a life without you guys in it. You know, like you it's hard to think of like the what ifs 'cause it's like you're you're just living in life as it is now and that's like Exactly. You're a Nowsville bro. Yeah, always Yeah. Yeah. Always pondering the the what ifs. Yeah. You know, I actually when I was in college I took a philosophy course and There was a couple of weeks where we talked about like free will versus determinism and that was some of the most entertaining discussions in a classroom. Hmm. Yeah, I can imagine. I'm curious. Yeah. My favorite part of the conversation was regardless of your like religious beliefs, there was somebody in the class who was like, you know, the teacher was like, So like what do you think is is it determinism? Like is everything just like already predetermined for us and we're just going through the motions without realizing it? Or do we have free will? And this one girl was like, Well, I think it's both and he was like, Okay, but here's the thing though, is that it can't be both. You either are in control or you're not. And like she just like couldn't really articulate it and it was kind of funny because she got mad at him and then she left the classroom. Well, that's one way to solve the problem. Walk away. Right, right. I'm gonna go start my own determinism free will, blackjack and hookers. ⁓ man. It goes back to one of my favorite movies of all time. It's Terminator Two. No fate but what we make for ourselves. Yeah, thumbs up in the lava pool. ⁓ That scene brought me to tears. See? Soap. No Z not the only one who got tears from that scene over and over again. That was that was the first movie to make me cry. Yeah. Like that scene I'm like, Arnold's like you can't do this. Like The world needs you now, but not ne not like the last movie. Not the last that sucked. Like you shouldn't have been there at all. But that's not that y that's not what we needed. But I but I guess like that kinda leads into what I end up telling people anytime we talk about stuff like this is like you wouldn't be here now if you weren't there then. Like Yeah. Like the now is because of then. And that's where we're at. Like is now. That's exactly it. 'Cause we experience Time linearly. Yeah. If things were different, then they'd be different. But they're not, so they're not. Yep. The that's the expression, you know, if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass when it hoped. ⁓ like ⁓ like my frog is about to do is he lands on the pine tree. ⁓ I thought he meant a real life frog. I was like, ⁓ that guy could have taken care of that thing on your eyebrow earlier. If you just had a basement frog. Yeah, that have been nice. Where's my basement frog? Wrong episode. Legally distinct frog thing in this in this ball that I happen to have that is red and white, but not that red and white. Different shades. We are playing sledding game. ⁓ we had talked about this one in the past, but we never actually did an episode, and we didn't have anything ready to go that was gonna fit five people, and we just wanted to do five people tonight. So we picked this type of game. This is a casual game. This is a social casual game. It's a cozy game. Yes, a cozy social casual game. There's no real objectives. There are achievements that you can get, but that's kind Kind of about it. And unlockables. Yeah, there are that's true. There are things you can unlock new sleds and hats and sunglasses and a little neck scarf thing. There might be other things too. I'm not sure. Yeah, you just explore the map ride around on the sled. Yeah. That's pretty much it. Get points. Make smart. Awesome. I love it so much. The number of players this goes up to what is it? Eighteen? Thirty ⁓ two? I think it's Depends on what who's hosting and what it can handle, but I yeah, I think it can go pretty high. And then the system and platform, this is just a ⁓ Windows. It's on Xbox too. Or or PC ⁓ game. Is it on Xbox? Nice. ⁓ that so PC and Xbox. I'm not sure if it's on another console, but I know for a fact it's on Xbox. Okay, well that's excellent. Interesting. Any games that are crossing. Actually I want to say it's on the Nintendo Switch too. Really? Yeah. Let's get to the bottom of this. Fact check. Let's get our best man on this. I don't have ⁓ what's it called? Released on Steam in Xbox on April thirty. It's on Xbox Game Pass. Yeah, it's Okay, that's awesome. So the base price for this game is already under ten dollars. think what is it? ⁓ seven ninety nine. And then it's actually it's actually on sale right now. Twenty percent off it's six thirty nine, which I believe is the historic low. ⁓ no, it says lowest recorded ⁓ four ninety five. But honestly, like this is a fun game. That was the intro price when they said that it was launching like officially after like the demo phase. Objective and story, ⁓ there is no story. There's not really the objective is just to kinda sled Sled, hang out, ⁓ maybe unlock some things, er earn some points, and then there's also like ⁓ they have like a little ticket spin wheel thing back at the lodge. You can play a bunch of little mini games. Well not a bunch. There's a few. Yeah, we usually end up setting up like some booster ramp or some circle to get points and just rinse and repeat and chat. ⁓ yeah, the fishing. ⁓ I'm gonna go fish now. Controls. I haven't tried this with a controller, but I I'm using keyboard and mouse, ⁓ standard kinda third person WASTY controls. They're you know, I have no complaints with the controls, they're very responsive, they work fine. Has anybody controls are good. Has it is anybody using this with a controller? I have. And it's available for Xbox, so it's it's definitely works with a controller. Like when I pick up my controller and start playing all the ⁓ little like things that say like click here for inventory, click here to you know, respawn. It changes to Xbox button icons instead of keyboard icons automatically. ⁓ that's good. Mm-hmm. Yep, I've always played controller on this game. I've And how do you like it? It's good. Yeah. ⁓ sorry. I like it's it's very comprehensive. Just left click to sled and move around with the sticks. And then yeah, all the just like Soap said, all the buttons replace with like their actual button label so I know what to what to pick for different things. If you want to build something on my controller it's Y. Pretty straightforward. I always have to invert look though. That's just me though. What were you gonna say, Milk? ⁓ yeah, I'm just ⁓ keyboard and mouse, same as you. It's it's simple to use. I like that. Art style. It's very very cartoony, very ⁓ cutesy. Yeah, cutesy. It's very cutesy. You get this these derpy little animals with these like you know, like Little tiny limbs and beady eyes and they just look very funny. Yeah, I think the the whole charm of the game is that it's like you so easily rag doll while you're sledding. ⁓ yeah, the physics. Yeah. Right. But yeah, these little pudgy animal characters with big butts and they waddle around in sled get launched off and go flying. And you can for sure play this one with the kids, which I think is a couple of my kids have played it and they think it's hilarious. What do people like? What don't they like? If anything. I think if there was anything I would say that I don't like, I wish that the map like maybe there were like different maps, but I do appreciate the simplicity of there not being too much to have to pick from. I agree. I like the simplicity. I like how you could just as you know, you can just Pick it up and go. Like was was there a tutorial? I can't remember. It's just a little like jump. I don't I don't think there was one. ⁓ I ⁓ after updating my or erasing my computer and I ended up having to start fresh and it gave me a little tutorial at the beginning. ⁓ okay. But it wasn't like a long tutorial, right? ⁓ no, no. Just like press here to jump. Okay, now you jumped, press tab to do this or you know. show you the keys and then sets you loose. Okay. There's really not much to it. That's the thing that I I love about this game is there's tons of games that are are just like non stop shooting things or whatever. It's kind of r refreshing to just hang out and do goofy things and you know, find little exploits like ⁓ you know, you spinning in a circle on the lake to to get points. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Yeah, I I just I like to just hang out every once in a while. It's it's ⁓ very enjoyable. But yeah the It's like one guy that is making this and ⁓ he's still working on it. So they're gonna add like a nighttime with other things you can do at night. Yeah, who knows? There might be more map stuff too. I mean, I would say my only complaints I always want a mini map. Yeah. ⁓ yes. W it there is a there is a big map. It's interesting to use it. There's no key you have to like go to your inventory and then select it and then you have to look at it. I I agree with that. Yeah. It's a very weird thing to do. ⁓ they might have done this in what was that camper game that we played? RV there yet. Yeah. They might have that it might have been a similar similar thing in that, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure. But and then as far as like co opness, I mean like today we were all just kind of like doing our own thing. But I mean this this game is meant to be like a social game where like people are just hanging out and chatting while they can play and do a thing that's kinda communal. So it's not really a proximity based big gripe. Yeah. It does have pro proximity based chat. Yeah, we've had multiple times where we just go in, allow anyone to join and just have like random conversations with random people. That's really what it's about, is just having conversations Just a scaffolding for social and vi ⁓ interactions. Yeah. Yeah. Well said. I would argue that that that's co op, right? Because you're you're like working like with other people to ease each other's souls by being human and talking to each other, where it's like go to any PvP deathmatch game, you're not gonna get that experience. You're gonna get a bunch of toxicity and and waving competitions and racism and it's like they're all terrible. Yeah, somebody gets called a Nazi. Right. And somebody else gets called other words that shouldn't be uttered by any human and it just degrades very quickly. Well, I mean that's the internet. It's nice to have an escape from that though. Well I mean you know, it y you you gotta be care even on this game, you you can get like people coming in to be trolls. Yeah, yeah. We've encountered that. ⁓ you haven't ⁓ no. No, what what have you seen? I've seen people like just come in and like break stuff that we were building and or just say vulgarities really loud. Yeah. Yeah. Just just start just start typing obscenities or you know chicken spears, chicken spears in the chat. But I've definitely seen I mean it it it's inevitable, but I've definitely seen a lot less of that in this game. I think it kind of I can agree with that, yeah, from what I've seen. I just remember whenever we do play and we try to make the particle accelerator thing, there's always one person that comes in and takes it down. why would anybody do that? Which yeah. One thing I wish they would add to the game is that when you go select the store part in the lodge when you wanna buy like stuff where you can buy sleds or accessories, I wish when you mouse over it it gives more like a detailed description 'cause the It's like a silhouette. Yeah, it's just a silhouette and you sometimes you can't really tell what it is. Maybe when you mouse over it it gives like a like a pop up box that says like with a clearer picture and says like, ⁓ this is a a whatever XYZ 'cause like sometimes I'm like, What is that? And I end up having to like save up money to buy it just to see what it does or what it looks like. Just to be disappointed in point. Like there are a few accessories or hats, I'm like, ⁓ I really want it and I get it and I find out that it's like very tiny on my head and I'm like, ⁓ my I didn't know it was gonna be that small. Yeah, if there was a way to try stuff on, that'd be sweet. Yeah. Like you mouse over it and it gives you a preview of what it looks like on your character. That'd be simple to do too. Yeah, would be a good feature. Yeah, I just I just like having things to unlock, so I just unlocked all the things. Yeah, exactly. Big spender. I have to get everything. It is kinda nice to it's like I wonder what that like shadow is. ⁓ it's like a double inner tube. That's cool. Like you you know, it's a nice surprise. ⁓ yeah. Yeah, I I love this game and I I'm I'm the one that is constantly trying to convince everybody else to play it, so I'm I'm glad we got a chance to play it today. Beat that Jamokes. Nice. This was a this was a good week to do this kind of game to just because it I think a lot of us have had like long weeks, so it's like don't have to think a lot. We're not like running for our lives, we're just like chillin' and getting up on sled. Yeah. I agree. Wait, how did I I don't remember changing my sled and I'm I'm in a different sled now. Alright. Milk is drunk. When did I get on the sled, baby? All right. Everybody go and make sure you have ⁓ in your settings turn peaceful mode off. Okay. Off. Got it. ⁓ no. ⁓ are we doing the ⁓ the bus? Yeah, I'm trying to see if I can pick somebody up. Where are you? Okay. Peaceful mode was. Yeah, you just you're doing something to me. Well now I can walk into you. How do you pick someone up? I have a question. You can throw me. What's up? Just when you go to the chest at the lodge to change your sled or accessory. ⁓ in the sled tab, there's like an two different sets of numbers. Like in the upper right no on the upper left corner I have one number, and in the lower left corner I have a different number for like for various types of ⁓ sleds. Like and I I'm wondering what those numbers mean. I think when they get higher you can unlock different colors. ⁓ yeah, it's I think it's like what levels your sled is. ⁓ Because whatever sled you have equipped, w the any points that you earn from any tricks you do go to leveling up that sled. Okay. Well is is it the number on the upper left or lower left? Lower left is like level on that sled. Yeah, lower left is level, upper left is ⁓ number of seats. ⁓ I see. Okay. Thank you. So yeah, the bus has six. Yeah. Okay. How did you do that glitch where you like make people ride in the bus and then you can just carry them around? I think well they ha they ha they have to get in the bus. But I don't I haven't been able to see I think peaceful mode has to be on. I thought peaceful mode had to be off to s ride in somebody's somebody else's sled. ⁓ no, peaceful mode's off and I got on. I I don't know how to get on. Is there a button back to pr F? Okay. I'm on So then if I get out of the bus I'm still a pr yeah, 'cause Todd has peaceful mode on and I have it off. I have it off too. ⁓ okay. So you guys turn peaceful mode off. Yep. No, I have peaceful mode off. ⁓ Okay. Don't you I think you cannot touch your controls at all. ⁓ I can I can move my mouse around. I mean I can look ⁓ okay, I just got launched. Minus I turned mine back on. Alright, I'm gonna take the bus away. That's alright. I got my own business. Here we go. Yeah. With hookers and blackjack. And then we go over here. I'm riding next to you. And that's how everybody goes up the thing all at the same time. We're riding together. This was fun in the canon, I remember. Yeah. In the canon. ⁓ yeah, that's a good idea. Can't canon tab. See, we'll so we'll take the bus down. Didn't we notice you guys jumped off. Todd, come back. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ you teleported back to the lodge. There you are. I'll pick you up here. Beep beep. Oooga ⁓ no, you fell ⁓ that's unusual. Todd! How do you jump on? I'm just running next to you. I think I got on for a second. You did? Yeah. Yeah. no. It's it's because he he has peaceful mode off. Wait, I thought you guys had wait, so you guys you guys have it on or off? Peaceful mode needs to be on to to be on the sled and stay on. Yeah, I had it off and then when I got on the bus I turned it back on. Mm-mm. Yeah. So I'm gonna take the bus away. Carry me. Okay. I don't want to walk, Dadsy. You'll have to carry me. Poppy. Here we go. We So Aaron is just flailing in the air. Yeah. Like a madman. I had to take a screenshot of that. ⁓ that's the end of that. Fell through the map. I crashed through the ⁓ the ground and ⁓ when that happens you just get teleported back to the lodge. Final thoughts, games that sustain. It's a pretty good game. I know, Bub, you've complained about this about past games where people end up going off all on their own and doing their own thing. Yeah. But you can do that in this game, but I don't I don't have an issue with it. It is a good game. It's a lot of fun. I like it. Would recommend this is different in that respect where it's like not like we're going off and completing missions without each other. You know, this like feels more like when you're like a little kid and you're at like the hill sledding and you're just running up and going back down with your friends. And you come back and I can see that you you're showing off some new sled that you got and everybody's cracking up. Right. Like we're all in the same playground. Yeah. Yeah. That's excellent. spontaneous things happen where like yeah everybody's trying to get the higher points or something like that. Everybody's working on building something crazy. And then so those are my final thoughts. Any games that's sustain ⁓ I've just been playing a lot of Helldivers lately. But ⁓ I feel like I played something else recently. Pellworld. Been playing that a little bit less lately. ⁓ v I w I was I was going back to Vampire Survivors. I saw that. Just Just because it's like there's just so much to that game. I'm looking at it like I think it came out with like a new update or something, and I'm like, I haven't even unlocked I don't even think I've played like the DLCs that I have. There's a lot to unlock in that game. There is. Yeah. So much. It seems like such a simple game. Yeah. The more you play you see like you find out like, ⁓ my gosh, there's more. ⁓ there's even more than that. Like it's a whole genre of games, but like so like Dragon Ball Z is to anime as Vampire Survivors is to Bullet Hell Games. Like it is it is the bullet hell game. Yeah, I I can agree with that. Anyone else? ⁓ games that sustain. I was doing some Left for Dead 2 and Sons of the Forest, but mostly for Maximus Host stuff. Let's try I can't remember the name of it right now. Aaron Bob. I think I made mention of it to you guys. Something to try hosting? ⁓ yeah, it's something that I'm like just about to host. It's in there on under page. Yeah, so Sons of the Forest and ⁓ Left For Dead two are now available for public. Ooh. So now they can be your games to sustain Yeah. For you I'm trying to remember the name of that other game though. I'm sorry, I can't remember. It's it's okay. It's late. We're doing this late. It's pretty late. Well that's why my head feels so funny. It's gotta be it. Killing Floor Two. ⁓ I was playing a little bit of that. Yep. ⁓ when I tried that other game that you guys played, what was that like Synth Zombie game? ⁓ synth. Yeah, Synth Wave Z like When I first got into that game I was like, ⁓ this is just Call of Duty zombies 'cause it's got a lot of the same mechanics. Very similar, yeah. And it's a shame that you guys didn't have audio playing because the music is definitely like the best part of the whole game. I yeah, maybe. Well you think from the title, that's ⁓ what that makes it ⁓ I don't know, they even tell you like, hey, the radio's over here. Like when you go into the map. Right. Aaron didn't have the audio for recording purposes, but I had it on and I was like, Yeah, this music's awesome. Yeah, it's a real shame that you couldn't capture it. Yeah. No, I'm just trying to keep us out of trouble. ⁓ sure. Yeah. That's good. It's reasonable. We don't need none of that that legal trouble. So my life co-op this week is synthwave Z for their badass music. I'm gonna have to check it out. Yeah, soundtrack on it's great. ⁓ gameplay is work. Yeah, like it definitely wasn't as clean as Call of Duty Zombies. Like Call of Duty Zombies, I would play that with My son we used to do that on Friday nights and like we just run circles and ascension and just like keep on pushing it till we died 'cause there's waves and waves of of ⁓ baddies coming at you. Yeah. Yeah, let's see. Soap and milk do you have Yeah, not not necessarily a a a game, but ⁓ still enjoying reading. Somebody recommended ⁓ like coworker recommended a a book called Sixteen Thirty Two, which is like an alternate history kind of book. Basically it takes place in a town in ⁓ West Virginia in the year two thousand and they it's around when the book was written. The whole town gets transported back in time to sixteen thirty two in Germany. ⁓ so it's like during the Thirty Years' War. And ⁓ yeah, so it's all about like how the people in this town react, how the Germans react and you know how they're Technology, like modern day technology. Like they're all like part of a mining union, so they have all these big trucks and like tools and things like that. Yeah, it's very interesting book. It was it was fun to read. ⁓ so it's the whole town that gets transported back in time, not just like a certain main character kind of thing. Well spoilers. Spoilers. no, that that that is like, you know, I think on the back cover. The synopsis. Yeah, that way I'm just joking. But apparently it's a it's a whole series, ⁓ called the Ring of Fire series. The Ring of Fire is like the circle that like was transported back to Germany. Does Johnny Cash get involved? No. I was gonna say the Ring of Fire is what happens after you eat too much Taco Bell. Chipotle way. You don't even need too much now. You just need ⁓ the right bag of lettuce. ⁓ yeah, that's right. Yeah, just get it supreme and you're done for now I'm reading a ⁓ Kaiju Preservation Society by John Skaldy. And if you like Starter Villain, it's like that. It's very entertaining. But it's like a guy down on his luck that through some series of events gets offered a very strange job and then it's him having this job at the Kaiju Preservation Society. I don't want to explain any more, but it's ⁓ enjoyable. Is that the same Author is ⁓ Starter Villain. Yep, Starter Villain Redshirts. John Skalze ⁓ it you know, the way I I think of his books, it's like a like an entertaining T V show. And I like that. There's not too much gravity to it. They're not that heavy of a book. And I guess it makes sense he he writes T V shows in addition to these books. So he did like Stargate and stuff like that. ⁓ I didn't know about it. ⁓ yeah. Yeah, I I enjoy them for that. Like they're just kinda light, happy books, amusing. But they're they're not too heavy. They're nice. Interesting. That sounds like a good read. Yeah, they're pretty short books too. Highly recommend it. Yeah. ⁓ for me, I guess I banked a lot of hours in Pal World. it's so similar to the other games I've mentioned in previous podcasts that sustain me, like it's like a mix of Minecraft, a mix of satisfactory, like all those games, like they have the same elements that I love that just like ticks all the boxes for me. So I was playing that for a while. And going with what Soap said, like ⁓ for books, ⁓ still reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl ser series, like definitely so far my favorite book of on my list of all the books I read. It's so entertaining. It is. It so is. Like I'm on the eighth one and I can see myself rereading all the books in the series again. I'm gonna have to get some physical copies so I can read this pineapple whatever. ⁓ yeah. Pineapple cabaret. Even if you just go to your local library and and just like read each thing is like it's really short at the end of the book 'cause it's just Yeah, it looked like it was maybe like five to ten pages. Yeah, yeah. It's pretty short. I think it's worth it. And with what Soap mentioned earlier, like squ John Scalsey, he got me into ⁓ the starter villain book. I really enjoyed that. And ⁓ after I finish this eighth book of Dungeon Crawler Carl, I think I might revisit John Skullsey in his other books like Redshirts. ⁓ there is another book that what was that? The Checker's Guide, you I I finally got you to read that. Yeah. ⁓ wow. I've read the first one and I'll go for the second one. And there is this book what was that book that your uncle mentioned? ⁓ Prisoners of Geography. Yeah. It says ten maps that explain everything about the world by Tim Marshall. I think I might pick that up. I used to like geography and maps when I was younger. But now you hate them. I hate you used to unless now Unless the revenge my enemy No, I still like Don't you tell me where to go, Map. I'll go wherever I please. I used to do drugs but still do whatever. No, I still like it's just intensity, it's not still like drugs. Yeah. but ⁓ and ⁓ another ⁓ author I really like is John Green. I read a good chunk of his books. There's a couple more I haven't read that I would like to touch on. Yeah. So books and games. Those are sustaining me. ⁓ This podcast has been brought to you by books. Books and games. Support your local library. The letter F. The letter. We're gonna transition ⁓ co op chaos to book chaos. Yeah, it's just it's just a podcast book club. BO hyphen okay chaos. Yeah, I don't know. Final thoughts on this game. I like it. It's fun. We're probably gonna periodically play this one over and over. And the kids like it, so that's a plus. Things that are sustaining me. Have not really played any games this week. I have obviously been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl since my game was done. Yeah. And then the other thing that I've been doing to sustain the things is there's this podcast that I listen to That's called Scoops Ahoy. That's like a Stranger Things podcast. And they were really good. I would I started listening to them, I think, when I was listening or watching the fourth season because I discovered them and I was like, ⁓ they're nice. They're really good. I like their approach to things. And so like that show ended, obviously. So they were like, Well, we're not sure what we're gonna do now because we were a podcast for this show that's now over, and and people were like, just do a rewatch, and they're like, ⁓ kinda wanna watch something else. So they are now doing an X Files podcast. ⁓ wow. Yeah, and they're gonna go every other week they're gonna do ⁓ just like their full review of one episode. They're gonna go through the whole series. I think they're gonna do the movies and like the like reboot that came out. Did you guys ⁓ there was a reboot? Was there yeah, there was. I think it was two or three seasons long and they're talking about bringing it back again. Wow. Yeah. With David DeCuffney and Chill Gillian Anderson. Yes, Gillian Anderson. Who recently came out as bi. Well that's no longer relevant, but did you guys watch Fringe? No. No. No. No? So like I I watched I think I've seen a few episodes. So I watched Fringe and I was getting like X Files vibes from it. The first season. I don't know how many seasons there were, but they ended up getting like way into the whole like canon of the story and it departed from the whole X Files vibes. It was decent. Yeah. It was I guess good is probably better to put. But it you know what I hated it. I don't know. But it was like I was definitely getting some like modern X Files vibes from it. Yeah. That's cool. I'll have to check it out. I was a big X Files fan when I was in high school. Yeah. And I ⁓ went one of I went to I think there was a yeah, there was a convention in Boston and my friends and I went to it. The music producer was there. Can't remember his name. But ⁓ man, I was such a nerd. I guess I still am. No, that's awesome. With all your dental knowledge. I mean you knew exactly what kind of Vertana transfiguration there was. I'd be hating myself if I didn't. I would I was in that field for like eighteen years. Right. Yeah, I'd I'd beaten myself if I couldn't remember it. Yeah, so the name of their X Files podcast is gonna be Skeptically Yours. So I would recommend Checking it out. ⁓ they obviously their their first episode comes out next week. So they the way that they do it is they'll have like a list of like superlatives that you can pick for each episode. And they did this with the Stranger Things podcast too. So like if you want, you can like email and be like, Here's what I liked about this episode for these categories. That's kind of fun. Okay. Yeah, so I I sent mine in because I like X Files, let's go. Scully Cubney can believe in me all night long. Scully and Mulder. Back at it again. ⁓ I had such a big crush on him. ⁓ Yeah, I don't know if you'll remember this one, Todd, but Sluggy Freelance did a small parody on X Files at one point. No, was it like Maldy? Yeah. Yep, it was it was Maldy and Crawler. Yes, okay, I do remember. Gosh done. Sluggy Freelance was like an online comic that we would just check out. It still exists. It still exists? It's still he's stopped it and restarted it so many times, but yeah, it's still going. ⁓ man, that's like Homestar Runner. Right. That comic strip is gonna outlive all of us. I hope so. I mean, ⁓ we're not that important. But Sluggy Freelance, I mean, that is like Terminator level importance right there. Like like no matter where the timeline goes, Sluggy Freelance will always be the anchor that holds us together. Yeah. A beer every year. Yep. ⁓ that's so good. ⁓ emergency pants. Yes, I actually still talk about emergency pants and will bring emergency pants places. They should people are there should be like like a poncho style emergency pants that you just keep in your glove compartment. Absolutely. 'Cause you never know when you're gonna shit yourself. Yep. Let's face it. You never know. You're like you're like, man, that fart felt ⁓ a little a as my youngest likes to call it, she's like, that was a melty fart. ⁓ my daughter calls them bubble farts. ⁓ my goodness. ⁓ he has some Seinfeld parts. Do we get everybody? I think we got everybody, right? He who fights with monsters. I didn't say that, but I've been listening to that like crazy. So much so that I have not been listening to this podcast. Okay, well maybe. It's on Audible. This podcast is not on Audible. That's yeah, I mean, exactly. So there's that right there. Yeah. Yeah, standards. But ⁓ no, it it's it it that's a great one. I would recommend it to anybody who enjoyed Dungeon Crawler Carl and is like, what now? if they get to the end of the series. That one's got quite a few books in the series, so it'll keep you busy and it's pretty good. Dungeon Crawler Carl is a bit more just constant. How do I put that? You know how like in a Seinfeld episode, 'cause it's on top of my mind with the the pops and stuff. You know how like they're everybody's doing their own thing and at the end of the episode they all come together and do something like wicked crazy? It's kinda like that. Like every book, there's a whole bunch of things that are happening. Well, I guess beyond like the first or second book. There's a whole bunch of things that are happening. And then it all comes together at the end to form a whole big what the f moment. Yeah. Yeah. And and then meanwhile dungeon crawler Carl is always sunny in Philadelphia. Yeah. That's a good way of putting it. Yeah. Just terrible things happening. Constantly. It's like off the wall like so unh unhinged. Unhinged horrible things. Yeah. Like, hey, is that a dumpster fire? Yeah, it's right next to that other dumpster fire. All right, let's go. Wait. Wait, what's in the what's burning in that first one? Babies. And there's a big elephant. Yeah, yeah, poor car. ⁓ man. Burning babies. ⁓ yeah, without giving too much away in that book, I a few days ago I'd gotten to this part and I messaged Aaron. I was like, So this is where I'm at and it was like the part where like the old guy like whips his dick out and peas in the hallway. ⁓ my god. And I think if you've read it you know what happens. Yeah. Is that before or after the dumpster fire full of babies? I think that's after. Yeah, that's way after. ⁓ thank goodness. ⁓ did anybody have any shout outs? Sorry to cut you off, Bub. ⁓ no, you're good. I I was just gonna keep the tangent going, but we should probably wrap it up here. Any other shout-outs? You know, I do have one shout-out that I'm gonna give give at random here because we had a developer reach out to us on Reddit and asked if we would be willing to once they have a demo ready ⁓ play their game on the podcast and talk about it. ⁓ And I said that we would. And then she asked if in the meantime we'd be willing to plug their game on the podcast. So I was like, yeah, we can plug it. It is a game called Mayhem a la carte. They have a Reddit page, a Discord, I think, and they do have a Steam store page for the game, but it's going to be an early access game in early 2027. And let me see. It is, as I'm reading this message, described as a cooking first-person shooter up to four players where you're Preparing orders while defending the kitchen. Burnt food becomes a weapon. ⁓ They have a live stream going on right now. ⁓ do they? That's hilarious. Watch the developer play and they're just cooking food and eating it. It kinda reminds me of shotgun farmers. We grow the food and we use it as weapons. Right. Chef's kiss. That game was so good. Wow. Hey, what a great concept. Yeah, so ⁓ check that game out. Once they have a demo out for people to try, we will be playing it on the podcast. And that's all I got. Todd, did you want to plug your spicy magic? Yeah, so the spicy magic I gotta read here. ⁓ Maximus Host. I mean Todd, vote for Todd. ⁓ thank you. Yeah. Well thank you for having such an awesome service. I mean we use it for our Power World server and I I think one or two episodes ago we were playing a game where we were like, ⁓ this would be great if we could get like a private server for it and I was like, Duh I d I don't think that game supports Yeah, I think so. And then it resets at the end of the season or something. Yeah. Was that was that once human? Was that the one? I think so. Yeah. Yeah, I I it's called Maximus Host, but there are limitations to the ⁓ reach of my power. ⁓ Yeah. It's gonna be a game that actually can be hosted on a independent server? Yes, yeah. Which there are a lot out there, but there are also a lot that aren't. There's so many games. Yeah, there really are. Soap and milk. Did you have anything you wanted to plug? ⁓ yes. It's this very cool website. It's called MaximusHost dot com. Thank you, Milk. Yeah, we've we've been playing Pow World constantly. That server and it's been rock solid. Yeah, if you're looking for like, you know, a service to like set up like a simple server or you know, like it ha having like just good, solid, genuine customer support, check out Maximushost.com. Thank you. Absolutely. You know what I will say about Maximushost.com is that like unbiased opinion here, like I am a complete dip shit when it comes to server stuff and I was able to make it work. So it's gotta be it's definitely simple to use. If I can do it, so can you. Thank you guys. Yeah. And on that note, I'm gonna say thank you to Matthew. Thank you to Afterlife Boy for all of our show music. Thank you to Todd Milk and Soap for Being here with us. Thank you to anybody who's made it this far and is listens to us at all. Yeah, yeah. Bob music. Let's hit that outro, baby. I don't know. All right, we're gonna whip out that outro and we're going to thank everybody. Thank you guys once again for being on the podcast. Just didn't even miss a beat. It was so good. ⁓ my god.
