speaker-1: So we're here with one of the hardest working men in the hobby, is that what you're going with? speaker-0: That's what I'm being told. Yeah. I'm n I'm not sure about that, but I try. speaker-1: I think and I mean this I I think you used to work harder when you had you seem to work smarter now. A couple of years ago you were definitely working speaker-0: Too many robots is speaker-1: Every London car show was that coming up with speaker-0: At least ten for speaker-1: mental. So yeah, where we frogly if you don't already know. Yeah, that's going back in it. speaker-0: Yep, Gorilla Brakes. Yeah. It certainly is. speaker-1: So how did you how did you start with the buying and flipping to start with? Because that was that's what I know you for, is mainly single. speaker-0: So I was selling football shirts to start with, and then I don't even know how I came across cards. I think I must have seen them on eBay, I bought a few, and then I eventually just started selling, buying and selling from that. Started with brakes, then I moved into singles, now I do a bit of both. Yeah. speaker-1: So it was it was in a lot of volume as well, wasn't it? speaker-0: so much I think at one point I had twenty eight roeboxes, four roeboxes of gold. Was that speaker-1: While you were student or did she speaker-0: Yeah, so I'd start when I was sixteen, I think I would have been yeah, that would have been my last year of college. Yeah. Doing speaker-1: Not doing it full time. speaker-0: it full time, I've never had a proper job, so can't complain. Nah, you can't count it. speaker-1: This is really a proper job, isn't it? How do you explain to people what you do as a job? speaker-0: With a lot of difficulty. I mean I've all my older relatives have said when I tell they think I sell sports cars every time. But yeah, I I think now people seem to know more about cards. Yeah, speaker-1: It's coming a lot more mainstream. speaker-0: especially when I first started. Yeah. It's quite small. You were one of the first people I knew from cards. You were early. speaker-1: Yeah, we were when it was small halls and round wasn't it and like I remember when we did the we were gonna we did a charity stream didn't we? Yeah. Do you remember that one? speaker-0: Yeah sold some my world we sold the twenty twenty three Disney. my word, how much would that be now? that would have been a lot more for charity. Yeah well it up. speaker-1: I've I've still got the video somewhere but we went to go edit it and it was the first time I think any of us have done prop content It was it was a lot of like if you if you like charity do you will give me this card for this prize? speaker-0: Yeah, I think I did go down that go down that way. Yeah. speaker-1: It was it was definitely interesting. So we're here at London. Yeah. What's the mission for for this weekend? speaker-0: Looking to buy cards in and around the £50 range, maybe some higher end ones as well. Yeah. Any speaker-1: Thanks, right? speaker-0: mostly football, but yeah, any sports really. Maybe some Disney, maybe some Marvel. See what I find. speaker-1: And is that that's the end to flip on stream or? speaker-0: Ideally, yeah. Maybe some speaker-1: And what's in the clutch? speaker-0: What's in the collection? Well I'm looking personally for Callum Wilson, but I think we might we might struggle with that one. But yeah, Callum Wilson, maybe some niche United stuff. Marcus Rojo, something like that. Yeah. speaker-1: That is that is Do you have quite a big collection? speaker-0: I've tried to narrow it down because I was trying to complete every single rainbow for Camus and ever. Yeah. And I had there were some sets I went through and I I did a whatnot stream of all of it. I had like ten duplicates of the exact same number. But now I only have one of each numbered. I used to have so much. It's a bit better now. A bit more speaker-1: everyone goes through that stage with hobby though, they collect it. speaker-0: Gotta Yeah. Be careful. Clear up. It gets crazy. speaker-1: One thing I've I bought off your stream a while back I think. We were in Germany for Carb Magnus. Yeah. And we went to the B Brothers shop and we got the French fries. Do you remember that? I remember you buying it and then I remember you put it up a picture going to go on the stream I was like three bit. It was up in the shop bus. speaker-0: Awesome car awesome car, memorability. Yeah, the Jordan McDonough. That's why I went there, I saw that, and that's why I bought one. Yeah, yeah. speaker-1: And then I bought did you put that one on for sale? speaker-0: I think I did. I didn't know where to put it, so I got rid of it in the end. But it was really cool. speaker-1: That's where I bought it from. So yeah, that one is is up there. So looking at the the show and things like that, there's obviously a lot of new people. What's your advice going into it? Because you do a lot of deal. speaker-0: Shows? Yeah. Firstly, I'm what you enjoy. Everyone says that, but I do agree with that a lot. Don't get caught up in how many sets are being produced either. I would try and I don't even know, this is gonna be a horrible clipper. speaker-1: No no it's one of my speaker-0: But I'd say do a an initial walk round first and then then maybe if you've got a strict budget go back to the tables. Because it's easy to come in and you see a card and you want to buy it and then you've blown on your budget. I would say walk round first, look at everything and then decide. speaker-1: It it's so easy to do it. I did it today. I I blew my budget before I show him started. speaker-0: I I mean I did quite a large deal before showed even speaker-1: Then you just have to sat there to do films. But do you do you think there's a lot of space in shows for people to make money still or is it speaker-0: I think there is, but I think it's becoming a lot harder to make money in the hobble. I think people think it is quite an easy thing to do, but it requires so much more time. So much you've got to be a lot more on the ball now, especially with how many sets coming out. You've got to sell things quick because the prices drop off a cliff pretty quickly. Yeah. speaker-1: I think we've seen especially after the national, like we were at Leeds Cowshow last week. Yeah. And everyone's talking as if they're a YouTube influencer. So everyone wants to buy at the same percentage, sell high. And it it's always the more people doing that it seems to get tougher and tougher to speaker-0: For me I I kinda buy up percentage but if I see something I just think I know it can move on easily. Yeah. I don't think you always have to be at a strict percentage. I think you just go car by car basis with it. speaker-1: Yeah. If you know someone that'll take it then speaker-0: But that's something you'll pick up over time I guess, no? Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, it's an experience, isn't it? we've all been you're all sat with that one card that you can't sell. speaker-0: I think it is easier now though, I think I mean since I got in I genuinely think it's there's ten times, if not more, people in especially speaker-1: Yeah. There's a lot more revenue to sell. speaker-0: in this country. Yeah. I mean you started in I started in twenty twenty. There was no online sal sales platform apart from like eBay but like live selling. Yeah. That's so good now. Yeah. So many different avenues to go to speaker-1: you can put a card on Instagram now and get so many eyes on it and it it speaker-0: Remember doing it like fifty stories, you wouldn't sell a single car. speaker-1: But yeah, I think it it speaks for the growth 'cause like s we downstairs when we were small speaker-0: Yeah well is this the first year it's upstairs for the day? speaker-1: No, it was upstairs last year but it was only half a half. And then obviously the speaker-0: yeah, that was it. I would say it's much cooler up here, but to be fair, I don't think the weather's helping us. speaker-1: No no. So I won't take take up too much of our time but like going into the on online selling, big on to whatnot, you've become there, you seem to be on there all the time. speaker-0: Yeah, I think to start on whatnot's gonna be slow, but I think you just kinda wanna keep going, building a community. What I'd suggest, this might not be taken very well, and you're gonna lose money at the start, but would suggest doing one pound auctions. Yeah. To start off, I think you'll get a lot more people in you'll grow a community a lot quicker. speaker-1: There's a a lot of traction. speaker-0: I think you get way more people in if you're doing stuff like that. Keeps people Yeah. speaker-1: Because what not we did a little bit at the start but we've gone eBay live for night. We kind of figured that it was easier to do it was easier to start a in a a space where no one else had the upper hand if that makes sense. Yeah for sure. So we're able to do that. So we've never really we never really conquered whatnot. we sort of got to a point and then just went out. So it's interesting to hear that 'cause like you see everyone doing it and you see speaker-0: it's I guess it's easy enough for me to say that I have always been on a relatively big page but I still think if you wanna grow your streams, if you wanna be in this for a long term and wanna be and wanna put some stuff. Really, really think. speaker-1: Yeah, I think it works on all fronts 'cause you're getting through boxes more and more. speaker-0: yeah, you fly through stock. Even if you just break it even. I mean buying more cards in, I think the more and more you string, the more people you more community you build. speaker-1: you on what you build your C V of hits don't you? Yeah. Because I think a lot of streamers get known for the big hits. Yeah. They're the person that pulled that one, that one. Yeah yeah. So I think the more that they do so it's it's an interesting tick. But last one. Last question. Worst pickup you ever have. Talking about speaker-0: if I can say the bloke's name, to be honest. I'll think of another. speaker-1: Is that the one you pulled? No different one. speaker-0: pickable to an Ganacho 101 Rookie Super Fractor Auto had offers of like 15 grand it ended up selling for one and a half. Yeah speaker-1: Just sit on it too long? Yeah. It's always difficult. speaker-0: But Blind Wheel Space Grab Museum, tag him in this video if this goes up as a Get him in, get him in. speaker-1: We'll have to get him on what's yeah. Thank you very much for your time and enjoy All good? speaker-0: Yeah, my
