Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Welcome back to the Uncomfortable Triathlon podcast. ⁓ We have had a week off because basically Harry and I can't get our shit together, but we are back and I know you guys are very glad to hear our voices. We've got a pretty exciting show today. We're gonna basically give you a bit of a catch up of why we didn't record last week. ⁓ And then we're gonna do a little bit of chatting around the amazing kind of scary field that is Ironman Texas. Harry: You Andrew Horsfall-Turner: and then also run through a little bit of my preparation for Iron Man South Africa, which is on Sunday. But obviously, always joined by my co-host, Harry, how are you doing? Harry: Hello mate, ⁓ I'm very good thank you. I also think you're being rather kind and generous by saying we couldn't get our shit together because in fact the truth is I couldn't get my shit together which I think comes as no surprise to the people that listen to this podcast because I'm fucking useless. So essentially... So I've missed quite a few of these essentially. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Hahaha Do want to tell them the story or? Harry: We rolled them on a few days now. Was the first one, cause I had a date, I can't even remember. And then... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: The first one was the date and then packing and travel, I think. Harry: Yeah, packing and travel for training camp and then it was because we had a barbecue at the training camp and then yesterday was because we showed up to new accommodation and couldn't sort wi-fi and everything was just a bit hectic and tonight I've had three beers and I'm absolutely shit-faced so good luck to everyone listening to this. So I've probably... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Hahaha So this is either gonna be like the best content you get ever or not, or some of the worst. Harry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've probably had Andy pulling his fucking hair out trying to organise this because he's off to South Africa tomorrow and he's actually got a tight schedule and he's got a reason to potentially miss things with having kids and family and stuff. I've got no reason, I'm just a bit of a dick. So that's my intro. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: haha ⁓ mate, you've alluded to it there. You've alluded to it there, you're obviously on training camp. ⁓ Where are you, what are you doing, talk us through it. Harry: You Yes. So I've come away on a Mallorca training camp. We do this every year with the T3 training group that I coach for. And I wanted to come out, we normally do a week with the group of athletes that we coach. And I kind of always find a week is not long enough for a training camp. So I decided to come out a week earlier to make it a two week camp. And we just stayed in some Airbnb accommodation that will crutch. managed to source and so it was basically a week with myself, Will Crudge, Harry Lelou, who I've actually just recently met for the first time. Insanely nice guy and also insanely good athlete. It was unbelievable to experience a week of training with him. Unbelievable. ⁓ And then Will's uncle, Graham, who's an absolute bloody legend. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: ⁓ and then Will's girlfriend and her friend. it was quite chilled. Like it was, it was really nice to get a decent week of training here now. I think I've banked some decent bike volume this week. ⁓ runs feeling good, swims feeling good. And now I'm going into a week of essentially good training, but also coaching for the T3 group. So we've got some fresh faces and some new accommodation and, ⁓ unfortunately today and tomorrow look like shit weather, but we'll, Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Nice. Yeah. Harry: make do and it will still be a good camp. But yeah, how are you mate? Because you've got travel tomorrow, haven't you? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: So take me through. Yeah, so I've had a good couple of weeks. I have been just basically in that kind of like final prep for an Iron Man where you're kind of like wanting to kind of still hit a few sessions, but also like very cute, like cautious that you don't kind of cook yourself and overdo it. But yeah, ultimately I've been going pretty well. I've been trying to stay away from illness. I have... Harry: Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ticked some really good sessions off. even like this week on Tuesday, I had a kind of like a four hour turbo with a hell of a lot of intensity in it. And it was like, you know, four hours at like average was like two nine two or two nine three normalized, like normalized like three 10 Watts. So was like pretty full gas. It also had 10 by two minutes at 405 Watts in the middle of it for no reason. I don't know why that was there. Harry: ⁓ my god. Jesus Christ, have a word with your coach mate. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ And then that led into a pretty solid run on the Wednesday, which turned out to be the nightmare of my week in a way. So the session went really well. It was three by 18 minutes, kind of like... Harry: So nice. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: The intensity is like sweet spot I guess like as you would do on a bike so like maybe like 90 probably right around so like 93 to 95 percent of kind of threshold like LT2 and I was running them so I did like 3x80 minutes at like I think average 330-329 per K so like nothing crazy but like felt super good. Try learning out some new race shoes this year ⁓ because I just wanted something different. Harry: Mmm. Go. Which ones? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: a different feel. Well, this is going to be, I don't know if I should mention the brand because then it's obviously going to have to mention the negative of the week. So on the first, on the first rep of 18 minutes, I felt a little bit of Achilles rubbing from the shoe. And I didn't think much of it. After the first 18 minute rep, I kind of like readjusted the shoe. On the next rep, it felt absolutely fine. And then on the third rep, Harry: You Okay. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I got about eight or nine minutes into it, so about halfway through the rep, and again, it started to really kind of like, you know when you feel that like, burny feeling of like a blister coming along, sort of like, really, yeah, so I was getting that feeling, I was like, oh no, but I was halfway through the final rep, and I was like, you know, what's like eight, nine minutes of running, so I just cracked on. Anyway, my Achilles is ripped to shred mate. Harry: Yeah, it's not nice. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Absolutely, I completely obliterated it. I don't know how I managed to do such a bad job. It's like, I'm looking at it now and it's like half healed. But we're like four or five days on now, so I've got seven more days to get it healed up completely. ⁓ But yeah, long story short, I'm not gonna be wearing those shoes on race day. ⁓ Harry: Is it seriously fucked? ⁓ no. You Yes. I think everyone listening wants to know what shoes they are. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Okay, and I- So, they are- they are ONs, the Cloudboom Strike. I... don't think it's the shoe, because I actually used the shoe a week before, and did like 20 odd K in it, and had zero issues. ⁓ what I think I did is I was getting some like, ball of the foot pain, like kinda like impact pain, ⁓ Harry: Mmm. ⁓ Mmm. Okay. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And I have no idea why that came on, but I was then worried that it might be the shoe that was doing it, or maybe I'd like laced up too tight. So then I think I laced it up looser because I was worried about how tight it was. And then that's then led to the blister. So I really like it because it felt, it feels so good, like underfoot, like the bounce off it's really good. It feels so stable. Harry: Right. ⁓ Mm-hmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And I think I'm gonna come back to it. So what I think I did wrong is I used, obviously it was slightly looser, I used an old pair of socks as well, which I think are just a bit worn down. So I think it's kind of my fault it happened. But I'm hoping, I'm gonna go back to some old race shoes that I kind of know are reliable for this race. And then after South Africa, I'm gonna come back to them and try them again, because I do think they are very, very good shoe. Harry: Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And I think it's maybe more user error than... ⁓ You'll know this mate, it's very difficult when super shoes these days are like 250 plus quid. Because you don't know... Yeah, exactly. don't... Until you buy them and try them, you don't know if they really, really work for you. So they might not be the right shoe for me. But unfortunately, you don't know until you bloody worn them. Harry: or you can't just go around buying them willy-nilly. Yeah. Exactly, exactly. It's really hard. Like I remember doing the same for the, was it the second generation Alpha flies? And I remember as soon as I put them on, I hated them. And I was like, right, I've just spent nearly 300 quid on these bloody shoes. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: But hey. Yes. And you feel like such an idiot as well because I came in like I was like I came back after that run My my foot's bleeding the the on shoe is a lovely like white color and now the back of it's red because of my blood Yeah, and I come in I'm having I'm like sulking sulking to my wife. I've just spent 250 quid on a pair of shoes. can't fucking use Harry: You I've covered in blood. Oh, that's so disgusting. She's probably thinking, what the fuck is wrong with this guy? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: She's like, 250 quid, we need a new mattress. Harry: Yeah, she's like, hang on a second. ⁓ no, mate. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ But yes mate, so other than that healing up Everything is as I showed you earlier. My bike box behind me is is Pretty much packed. I'm flying Monday. So when this podcast comes out and fly Monday night to South Africa body's feeling good just need this blister hit to heal up and Yeah, looking forward to to doing that and we'll talk a little bit more about South Africa probably later Harry: Good. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: in the pod. But first of all I really wanted to, I haven't actually watched the video yet, but I really want to hear about a KOM attempt because when I saw it I assumed this KOM attempt was going to be on the bike. So tell me, tell me more. Harry: Yeah, I thought you did. So mate, I'm still actually slightly speechless from just witnessing what I don't think people necessarily understand how incredible it was. And I am hoping that the video gets a lot of traction because not just because it's my YouTube channel and I want the videos to do well, but also I feel like it. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Obviously do, yeah. Harry: Yeah, I obviously do. That's the priority. ⁓ But it's more because I feel like Harry deserves the recognition because I feel like was such a good effort and he's such a nice guy. He's such an incredible athlete. It's awesome to see him do something like that. So essentially, we allude to this in the video, but basically we were looking at the Saqlobra KOM time and he accidentally on the app, he accidentally had it on run instead of bike. And we noticed there were only like 200 people that had done it. And the guy who had the KOM is some German ultra runner, like Red Bull sponsored athlete. And he did it in 4430, I want to say. But we had a look and he did it during a 60K ultra marathon. So for anyone who knows the island, basically what he did was he started in Solaire. He ran up Pogmoyeur. So essentially the longest climb on the island to the highest point of the line. He ran down Sacalaubra, back up Sacalaubra, back down Pugmoyeur to Solaire. And so that's how, and he set the KOM. So we were like, well, surely Harry's like such a good athlete. Like he's done it. He's done a 28, 50, 10 K. So we were like, surely if we do it as a single effort, he can get the KOM. Like it was, I think it was the equivalent of Andrew Horsfall-Turner: That's nuts. Harry: I think it was 4.30 per K pace, but obviously you have to take into account the elevation, which is like 7 % for nearly 10K. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, that's nuts. That's- if you put your- say you put your treadmill on 7 % and try and run, like, it's so hard. It's so hard. Harry: Yeah. Yeah, like, so grade adjusted pace was something like three... ⁓ I want to say it actually was like four minute case, grade adjusted pace, which we were like, that doesn't sound that hard. So originally, I was going to do it with him. was like, fuck it, like, I'll do that. Like, I think that'd be really cool. And then part of me was trying to be sensible and I was like, actually... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Easy. Wait, wait, can I stop you there? Can I stop you there? I was gonna say, you've just come back from an injury. You cannot be running up a mountain, mate. Harry: You're on. So literally I was like, yeah, we'll fucking give that again. And I did it for two days. I was like, yeah, I'll fucking do it. And what's funny is I called, I remember calling Josh Lewis. He's always like my voice of reason. And so I called him, I had a chat with him and he was like, yeah, probably wouldn't do that. And I then thought about it for another like couple of hours and I was like. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: is right, but I hate that he's right. And so essentially then the idea popped into my head that I was like, well, I can make a banger video out of this. I've got a car so I can get to the island, get to the climb, I can drive Harry. But I was also like, I want to get my run session done. And I don't want to do it later in the day, because it was meant to be a really hot day. there was like, I know after filming for like a few hours, I'll be tired. So I was like, Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Mm. Harry: I then get up at like half four in the morning to do my run session on these pitch-backed black lanes and all I've got is my phone torch and I'm trying to run like 330s in the pitch black and it was just like, it was carnage. It was absolute carnage and I swear every house that I ran past there was a new guard dog that would just get set off every time I run past. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: What are you doing with your life? Harry: I'm running in the pitch black, I've got these dogs barking at me. I don't know which way's up. I'm like, what am I doing with my life? I then get back and we go off to Sacalobra. And mate, it was just crazy. Harry runs past me at like 3K in and he's like, mate, I'm running 3.45s and I feel good. I was like, okay. It was just... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: You Okay, enjoy the next... Harry: unbelievable. Yeah, I was like, can't wait till you blow up. And so yeah, he does it and he does it in 3836. So he knocks off six minutes off the KOM and grade, yeah, grade adjusted pace was 306 per K, which was unbelievable. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. ⁓ my god, that's nuts. Harry: ⁓ And I think he's honestly, I think he's put it out of touching distance from most people. But what's awesome is the guy who had the KOM originally has now like commented on the channel. He's messaged us on Instagram. He's like, I'm going to give it another go. So I'm really interested to see how he would go and try and make like, yeah, try and make the run KOM like a thing, which would be, which would be really cool. I want people to like go for it and see what happens. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: No, nice. Yeah, no, that is cool because the bike one is already such a big thing. So if you can create this level of excitement around the run one, yeah, it'd be cool to see some ultra runners go and tackle it. Even some pure runners, guess in off season if they're going for a warm weather training camp to Majorca just to get out of the rain in the UK or whatever, it'd be cool to see some pro runners like a Phil Sessman or someone like that give it a go. Harry: Yeah. Yeah. 100%. That would be so, so cool to make it like quite a popular thing. And I just love the fact that a lot of people in the cycling world know of Sacralobra and they've tried it. And so they will know that like even 38, 30 on a bike is quite quick. And so the fact that he ran up it is like, Andrew Horsfall-Turner: is decent, yeah yeah. Harry: What I love is the fact that there's comparison there, like people can be like, holy shit, like he's running faster than I can ride up it. That's unbelievable. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: How many cyclists did he run past when he was going up? Harry: He literally ran past a group of cyclists within the first K and they took a look at him, looked down and then looked at him again. They were like, what the fuck? Yeah. It was so funny. We did have to go. That's the reason why I had to get up so early to get my session in, because we wanted to make sure that we beat the traffic. Because if anyone knows the... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: That's so good. They're like looking down and seeing like 300 watts and they're like, why is this guy running away from us? Yeah. Harry: the island they'll know that it gets super busy after like I don't know 9 30 10 o'clock so so we did get that I think he started the effort like 8 45 9 o'clock ish um so it wasn't crazy busy with cyclists but there were a few cyclists descending when we when he was going up and they they had to take like double takes him they're like what the fuck is this guy doing Andrew Horsfall-Turner: fair. The thing is as well, if everyone who was there kind of understood what was going on, they'd probably be like... If I knew what was going on and I was cycling around, I'd jump off my bike and start cheering the guy along, you know? Harry: Yeah, yeah, It was so cool because when he comes around the final stretch, there's two lay-bys at the top of the Strava segment and as he came running past and I was cheering him on, everyone just got involved. I feel like they had no idea what he was doing, but they just started cheering for him. It was actually really, really cool. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah I'm gonna, yeah, literally I need to watch this video. So as soon as we finish recording, I'm gonna jump on your YouTube and have a look. But yeah, everyone who has listened to this, I'm definitely keen to watch. Harry: Mate, it's so funny. Yeah, I think it's such a cool video, not because the video quality is good for me by any means, but it's just the fact that I feel it's just such a cool effort and Harry's such a good athlete. I can't big him up enough, honestly. Watching him train that week was unbelievable. And the fact that he was three weeks deep into a camp and then he knocks out a 38-minute, 10k effort up a bloody mountain, it's just wild. So yeah, it was like a privilege to watch them do it. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: That's nuts as well if you think about it. Like, like you obviously, you and I both work with lot of athletes, but if you go to kind of the average run club or whatever for a male to run sub 40 for a 10k, like on the flat, that is, that's like a good level of running. So to run it up a hill, what the... It's crazy. Harry: Yeah. yeah yeah that's a decent club runner yeah it was was it was funny because crud was riding next to him and he he was like he was having to ride lt1 to just keep up with him Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ love ⁓ it. Harry: That was so good. So yeah, that's what we've been doing. We've just been mincing about basically and watching Harry run up hills. but yeah, if anyone listening wants to give that a crack, definitely would recommend running up Saclobber. Just make sure you get there early and give it a good punt and yeah, tag us in your content. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, I said that to you as well, like just watching it. I know that I would probably get nowhere near like the time Harry did, but I'm still like interested in doing it just to like understand how good it is. Harry: Mm. Yeah, 100 % because Harry was saying before, he was nervous not because of doing 10k uphill, he was nervous because he had no reference points of what it should feel like. He was like, oh, if someone asked me to run a 10k flat out, I know what that should feel like. So I'm not nervous about it. But this running uphill for 10k, he's like... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: I have no idea how it's meant to feel. I have no idea what's gonna happen. So was like the unknown. And I kind of, I love the idea. yeah, I think his calves were a little bit sore. But to be fair, like he looked decent at the top. He didn't look too bad. I don't, like I said, I think he's put it out of touching distance for a lot of people, but I would love. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Was his coughs on higher? Coughs must be not absolutely burning. for Harry: to go and try and, I don't know if I'll get close to that time, but sub 40 up there would be pretty cool. so mate, if you're keen, let's organise a camp and let's do it. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Let's do it, mate. Let's do it. Yeah. Cool, mate. No, that's epic. think it was more COVID at the time where everyone was doing these big challenges like Everesting and stuff like that. I think because racing has come back over the last few years, we see a lot less of these epic challenges coming around. So it's cool to take it back away from like... Harry: Yeah. Mmm Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: the normal structure of like this race or that race and just kind of like these KOM attempts I think are you know they are kind of like what sports about it's not for like a medal or anything it's not for money it's for like just like pushing your body as hard as you can and seeing how you stack up I love that Harry: Mmm Yeah. 100 % is for like the legacy. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. ⁓ Right. Harry: I just know full well what's gonna happen is this German guy's gonna turn up next bloody week and smash it and rip it away from him. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Hey, if you start some beef that'll be cool. Harry: Yeah, yeah, that's why I tagged him in the social media stuff because I wanted to get him shivering. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Right mate, shall we move on to doing a little bit of a Ironman Texas, I guess? Brief, but maybe just more like kind of our thoughts or preview. and maybe we could just do maybe a quick podium pick at the end and maybe a wild card a bit like we did for Oceanside. You've never been to Texas. I- Oh, you have never been to Ironman Texas? I've done it a few times. Harry: preview. Yeah. Let's do it. I have never. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: So, Iman, Texas is a pretty big North American race and because it's been pro series, I raced a pro series race there last year and it kind of just doubled in size. So I think we had like 68 odd men last year and I think there's meant to be 70 something this year. So it's kind of ridiculous in terms of the scale of like who turns up, but also it's hot. Harry: Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: It's humid, it's fast on the bike, or it can be as long as the wind's not blowing, ⁓ and the run is kind of like deceptively hard. It's kind of like hard packed kind of concrete you're running on. And also can get really kind of stuffy as you run around the lake because there's not much breeze. ⁓ But yeah, mate, ⁓ who's on the start list? Have you got it up in front of you? Harry: Mmm. Yeah. I've literally just looked at the tri-pole Instagram and it's actually crazy, man. literally like, pretty much is a World Champs, isn't it? And I just think what's crazy is I'm pretty sure I saw, and I could be wrong by saying this, but I'm pretty sure I saw someone say the top 15 at World Champs last year. There's 13 or 14 of the guys. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: in the top 15 at World Champs last year are going to Texas. So it's just unbelievable. You look at the names, you're like, if you scrubbed out Ironman Texas at the top and put Ironman World Champs, you wouldn't be surprised. Unbelievable. So ⁓ I think it's going to be awesome to see. I think it'll be really interesting. I know that we chat about this quite a bit. The last few pods, but like the 20 meter rule as well, like Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: how that will affect such a big group and also such a deep group with regards to like the quality of athlete because I feel like this is a new style of, this is a new race where the 20 meter draft effects, it'll be interesting to see how it affects things. I wanna see what your thoughts are on that. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Yeah, and being in the race last year and experiencing, especially the front group last year, I think 13 of us broke four hours on the bike course. I was actually the last person to make it. I think I went three hours, 59, 58 or something like that was my bike split. But it kind of showed how quick... Harry: Wow. What kind of power did you put on, like what kind of powers were you holding for that? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I I normalized 3.9 something. Average was a bit lower, but the way it worked with the 12 meter rule in that, because obviously Texas is literally up and down a highway, there's a few overpasses, but mate, it's so surgy. It's literally 420, 450 watts at times just to kind of like hold your gap and then the next minute you're literally like freewheeling or like even tapping a brake to try and slow I remember Harry: Okay. Really? Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I remember like, you I rode sub four hours, but on some of the flat sections on the highway, I was literally breaking because you have to smash, you smash 450 Watts for 20 seconds or so to make sure you don't lose the group. And then all of a sudden, like 30 seconds later, the kind of that, that Constantino like sucking in like kind of aerodynamic effect comes in and you're like, ⁓ shit, now I'm gonna, I'm gonna go into the red zone. So you kind of like slam on and then like, again, you end up surging again. So it's. Harry: Really? Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: think that's why there was such a big difference between like normalized and average as well. In terms of the 20 meter though, think it will make it a little bit easier in terms of just less surginess and more steady watts, which I think means that a lot of people might run better. I also think that, yes, it's more spread out, but I also think that that front group's still gonna have... Harry: Yeah, yeah. Okay. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: It's still going to start with 20 guys, 25 guys, and it's, reckon, pretty much till the last turnaround at a hundred and, I think it's 130 odd K at the far end of the hardy toll road, I think it's called. I think you're going to have best part of 15, 16 of those guys still together, even though they're 20 meters spaced apart. I guess the only question is, do a couple of athletes get away? Harry: Yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: which no one could last year. Like Christian Hoganard had little bit of a go-ya, like a try to get away last year. And he was just like pulled back. So it'd be interesting to see if someone like Schomburg or Hoganhard or Werff or anyone like that could kind of get through and get away. But yeah, mate, it's gonna be absolutely like on the men's side. Harry: Yeah. Yeah. be interesting. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: it's going to be absolute lightning quick from the get-go. We also got Fraser Minnican doing his pro debut, ex-GB swimmer, so I'm expecting to see him at the pointy end on the swim. ⁓ And then, on the women's side of the race, it's, you know, we've got three, well, I say three big hitters. We've got like four or five really big hitters with Kat, Solve, Taylor. Harry: Nice. May. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Hannah Berry and Lisa Pertera. So it's gonna be interesting, like Kat's obviously on fire this season, but you've also got Solveig who won the Ironman World Champs in Kona and you've also got Taylor Nib who is Taylor Nib. So I think it's gonna be interesting to see the dynamic. I think the ladies will be way more spread and I think they almost will ITT a little bit. Harry: Yeah. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: But yeah, there's some ridiculous power, if you ask me. Harry: It's just crazy. Yeah, like absolutely crazy. And I watched Lionel's new video earlier today and he said, and he's right, like he said that there could be like 20 to 25 guys getting off the bike at the same time and just taking chunks out of each other during the marathon. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. To be honest, that's what we want to see. As fans of the sport, obviously we're athletes, but as fans we want to see that. Harry: 100 % yeah Yeah, like 100 % you want to see guys getting off the bike together and just running full ham and just seeing what happens. like, you know full well they will. Like, it will be incredible watching, I don't know, KB just take it and everyone just try and keep up with them. And that's going to make the race interesting, in my opinion. And I mean, I know a lot of people will be like, KB's got it won, blah, blah. But you know, like, there are still a lot of decent Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yes. Harry: runners are like, know, Patrick Langer is like, an unbelievable runner. So he could still be in the mix. Like you've got Casper who ran a sub 230 last year. So like, it's not just KB has got it like tied up. Yeah. That's interesting as well. You've got someone like, I don't even think he's on the start list, but you've got Kieran Linders who, you know, like he's a phenomenal runner as well. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yellow Gains, know, doing his debut. Crazy. Yeah, yes, yeah. Harry: So like, Antino Benuto, I've butchered that. Spanish geezer. yeah, it's gonna be wild to watch. are your, go on, what are your predictions for Texas? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Lopez. Ha ha ha Or, should we... do you go... men's or women's first? Harry: Let's go men's first. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Okay cool, let's go through it, we'll go our top three and a wild card. So my top three are going to be, I think I should have probably thought about this a little bit more before I started. I think we're gonna have a Norwegian one too, so I think KB and then Casper. Harry: Yeah, cool. ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I think Patrick Lang might get third, you know? I just... He's won Texas twice before, I think he has. He knows how to run on that course. He's run a 2.32 there. I think he stays in the main group. I don't know if a few people get away, but I he stays in that main group. And maybe he gets off the bike behind Casper and Christian. But I don't think he's gonna be off the bike more than... four. Harry: That's a good call. Yep. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: five minutes and I think his run is good, you he's very good. My wild card? my wild card, that's a hard one. There's so many like fun athletes. Yeah, yeah. I think my wild card is going to be, and it really shouldn't be a wild card, but Rudy Von Berg. Harry: Yeah. There's so many good athletes on the start list. Yeah. I know it's crazy the fact that Rudy is a wildcard. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. I know. So Rudy was third there last year. He also finished third at Kona, I think the year before. ⁓ And he's just like, I've raced against him a couple of times. He won the first time I ever did Ironman Texas was back in 2023. And there was a league group of four of us and he was in that group. And mate, he's a super solid TT-er. ⁓ Harry: Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I know he's kind of known for his like mountain skills when he got a medal at 70.3 Worlds, but he's super good on a bike and he's just like an all-around consistent guy as well. So he'll be in the front group on the swim. Not many people can kind of ride away from him on the bike. And then, you know, when he puts his run together, I think he's dropped a 238 before. I think he won Florida in a 238 a couple of years ago. So yeah, I could see him. Harry: Yeah. Yeah, I think that time that year that we were in Florida together Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, yeah, So I think he's probably, if you had to put him, I think like he's my dark horse to get on the podium, but I would, at the very least, I see him in like a fourth or fifth kind of place. Harry: Yeah, 100%. It's hard because Rudy, he always is there or thereabouts, but he's never quite winning. I think it's because he's so solid swim, bike and run. He does not have a weakness, but he also doesn't have, this sounds savage, but he doesn't have a strength. Yeah, he's really good at the swim. He's really good at the bike. He's really good at the run, but he's not as good as the best swimmers. He's not as good as the best bikers. He's not good as the... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: A weapon. Yeah. Yeah. You Harry: best runners and so it's like he's always there. He's probably one of the most consistent athletes on the circuit but he's never quite winning races because he just doesn't have that superpower. I know that's a bit savage. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, no, no, think it's, but I guess like he is kind of though that, that all around triathlete that like a lot of people aspire to be, you know, ultimately those kind of athletes, you know, not necessarily like not saying that he can't win a world championship, but those kinds of athletes have a lot of success and that's because they are super consistent like across the board. Yeah. What about yourself, mate? Harry: 100%. 100%. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's what you'd rather. Yeah. Okay, so it is really hard to against KB. So I feel like as much as I said that Patrick could and blah, blah, like, I'm gonna say KB for the win because that's just, I mean, if I was a betting man, I'd probably put my money on him. ⁓ Andrew Horsfall-Turner: You Yeah. Harry: Then I'm going to say second place. feel like Patrick, if he plays his cards correctly, if he gets out of the swim in a good place and he surfs the wheels appropriately on the bike, he will have a close to 230, if not sub 230. He will be contending for the win and so I feel like he'll probably get second place. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: for sure. Harry: then third place, this is really bloody hard. ⁓ I want to say, who do I want to say? I, you know what, I'm to go a little bit, a little bit obscure here, but hopefully he does, he does well. ⁓ Yellow Gains, obviously his first Ironman, but like the potential there is, is massive. He's obviously current 70.3 world champ. He, he knows how to race. whether he's going to do well in an Ironman is yet to be confirmed. But he is obviously a phenomenal athlete. It's hard to bet against someone like that. And I feel like that's that'll be an interesting third place. And then my wild card is going to be big up Kieran Linders. I feel like this course does suit him. So it's similar to the course. Was it Hamburg? Was it Frankfurt? I always get the two mixed up where he came third or second. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yes, good call. Frankfurt a couple of years ago yeah yeah Harry: Yes. This course really suits Kieran because he's a really good swimmer. He will get out, hopefully, for him in the front pack. He is very good at surfing the wheels on the bike. Admittedly, he's not the strongest biker. I think he'll be the first person to admit that he's not an Uber biker, but he's got the minerals to stay with the group, which is all he needs. Then he is capable, for sure, of running a low 230. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Mm. Harry: Although I don't think he's going to be close to the win or maybe even the podium, but I feel like he could contend for top five if he plays his cards correctly and he runs to his capabilities. He could contend for top five for sure, which would be a career best result. Like in that field would be a career best result for sure. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ yeah, yeah, for sure. And I think Kieran raced last year at Texas as well and he was right in the mix at like 130k. Kind of like just... Harry: Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: behind where I was. So he was kind of like not there. We kind of splintered. There was a bit of there's a few athletes ahead and he was kind of just in that big group with Daniel Bakker-Garden and myself and a few others. And he actually crashed into an age group, I believe, or a bottle or something like that. He went down. But it's kind of dangerous where if he'd come into transition with us, he Harry: Yeah. Shit. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: and ran really well, yeah, he would have been super dangerous that day. So if he has a similar swim and bike combo and obviously stays willside up, willside up? Is that right? And then... No, willside, willside down, willside down. ⁓ Harry: Mmm. Rubber side down, I don't know. Yeah, you do not want your wheels in the air. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: But yeah, he can be right in the mix. I think Wildcard's a good call. Right, what about the women? Mate, think we're gonna have the same top three. It's just the order in which we see them. I'm gonna go Solvig for the win. Harry: Okay, straight. Let's go for the women. Go on. I know, yeah. Mm-hmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Cat second, tail a third. Harry: Interesting. Ooh, that is interesting. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And the way- the reason I see this happening is I think Taylor's off the bike first and I, for some reason, after watching Solveig runner Oceanside just think that she's gonna outrun Kat but I have- I mean I have no authority saying that because Kat is an absolutely incredible runner. ⁓ But I just feel like Solveig, she's just dangerous. She just feels dangerous to me. Harry: Yes. She was unbelievable, wasn't she? Yeah. She was super impressive in Oceanside, so I mean that's a good shout. And I would like to see that as well, to be fair. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Right, and then my wild card, it's a nice bias pick. ⁓ India League, I think, yeah, get a Brit in there. But I also like, it's a bias pick in the sense that, yeah, we've got the same coach and she's British. ⁓ But it's also a pick that I think everyone kind of knows in these class in terms of just as an athlete, but she's also had like a pretty epic... Harry: Okay. Thank you. Yes. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ Ironman career. I think that year we were in Florida, she finished second ⁓ and then also I think she did, I think it was Ironman LaSabs last year and she absolutely obliterated the field. yeah, I'm a wild card again. I think it's gonna be hard to knock any of those three off the podium ⁓ but I think Indy will be in the thick of it, especially on the swimming bike. Harry: Mmm. Yes, that was it. Yeah, no. Yeah, I mean those are great shouts and Indy is a great athlete. it's hard, like you say, it's hard to pick wild cards because these also are athletes that can contend for the win as well. So it is difficult. I am definitely picking the same athletes as you, but I'm going to go Kat for the win. It's just hard to against Kat. She's like KB. She's just like... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Yeah, no, I don't disagree. ⁓ Harry: Yeah, it's like putting money into the S &P 500, you know? So Kat, then I think Solvig, and then I think Taylor. feel like Taylor, similar to you, I think she will probably come off the bike first, but Solvig, the way she ran in Oceanside was super, super impressive. I feel like she can contend for the win, but I do feel like Kat. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: You Harry: probably can run away from her, but we will see. And then for the wild card, I'm going to do the same as you with picking a Brit, but I'm going to pick a different Brit. I'm going to go for Kate Curran ⁓ because I wanted to pick a Brit. And she is, she is a very good athlete. She's obviously coming back from, yeah, yeah, because I like British people. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Nice. Good call, yeah, another good call. Because I am bias Harry: she's obviously coming back from a pretty howling ⁓ injury, you know, the bike crash and for anyone who doesn't know she was out with a pretty horrific situation but she is a great athlete and across the board like swim, bike and run so it would be nice to see her at the pointy end of a race again and showing her potential. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, for sure, for sure. ⁓ Cool mate, should we quickly touch on Iron Man South Africa before we end the show? We'll just have a little, not necessary as much of a preview. Harry: Let's touch on the fact that ⁓ I'm now chatting to the future Ironman South Africa champion. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: When did ⁓ I'm trying to pick someone off the name list. When did Florian Angert join the group? Harry: I'm currently chatting to Jamie Riddle. Go on. Okay, so give ⁓ us your rundown of like, what are your... Obviously you're traveling tomorrow. What are your sensations going into the race? Like, how do you feel your training, your whole Ironman block has gone? What are you... What's your kind of... How are you going to navigate race week? And just talk us about the thoughts going into race week. Because I'm sure... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Harry: Race week for anyone is pretty daunting. You go to a new place, you go to a new country. You're obviously going there to try and, you know, this is your job. You're trying to pick up prize money. You're trying to get points. You're trying to get position, whatever, bonuses, whatever it is. So like, how do you, how do you navigate that? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, for sure. So yeah, no good questions. Yeah, I guess start with how the block's gone. think we kind of see this podcast has been quite nice to kind of document a little bit of like what goes on over time a little bit with us. So as you're like older podcasts of would have kind of alluded to two young kids trying to stay healthy has been kind of the one of the biggest challenges. And I think Yes, I've had bouts of illness, but I think I've still done a relatively good job of even when being sick, being consistent and not necessarily like training through illness, but it's been taking those days off when I needed to take those days off. And it's been, you know, if I've been under the weather, but not like fully ill, it's kind of been, you know, adapting training with my coach and being sensible throughout that period to make sure that, you know, hopefully I get to South Africa in the best possible fitness I can. Harry: Yeah. Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And I think we've done a really good job of that. ⁓ you know, never, I don't think you can ever say perfect. If you, you know, if you said to me like, what, what would you want to do? say it like, maybe, ⁓ I want to bank a few more, you know, hard long runs, or I want to do this or whatever. But actually I think it's so easy to overdo as well. So, you know, I've kind of got what I've got now and I'm kind of, I'm kind of at peace with whatever for my then show on race day. ⁓ which I think is a good place to be. Harry: Sure. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: ⁓ But yeah, I think going into South Africa is really nice because I went there and I raced last year. So first of all, kind of like, as you said there about the kind of anxiousness of like going to a new place. I'm a bit of a creature of habit. So I love to go back to similar places that I know because they feel kind of like... Harry: Very. Mm-hmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: not at home, but it feels like I know where the food shop is, I know where the swim start is, the easy things, it makes my life a lot easier because I haven't got to think about where the pool is, I know where the pool is, I just got to go through the race week of ticking off these taper sessions, of going to race briefing, checking the bike, I know where the bike shop is because I needed it last year to index my gears a little bit, so I feel quite relaxed about... Harry: Yeah. Yeah. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: traveling there, which I think is really nice as well. But yeah, as you said, think the start, there was kind of a couple of reasons for going to South Africa instead of, know, normally I would go over to Texas. And I think this year I've decided obviously not to race the pro series, ⁓ which watching them already, I'm like, ⁓ definitely want to do it again next year because it is great to kind of be in that environment. ⁓ But there was kind of the idea behind this season is like, right, what do I really want to achieve in Harry: Mm. Hmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: know, triathlon this year. And one of them is, you know, potentially try and get a slot for Kona, which is, you know, ridiculously hard now. And, you know, I definitely know that it's not like a make or break, you know, if I get, if I don't get one, it's not like make or break of my season. ⁓ But I felt like South Africa gave that opportunity and I, like knowing what the start list is now, I think it's still a possibility. I don't think it's, I don't, wouldn't go into it and say it's likely I'm going to get a slot. Harry: Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: But I think if I have a really, really good race and things, you know, luck falls my way a little bit, I think it's possible. So I think I go into the race with optimism of executing my best day. And if that results in a cone of slot, then great. ⁓ Also, there's like 30 odd athletes of us, 30 odd men racing, and it pays 10 deep. So from a financial standpoint, ⁓ Harry: Mmm. Mm. Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I definitely want to be in the top 10. I think it goes without saying, like you obviously always want to come away with at least, you know, trying to earn some cash. But yeah, in terms of like, do you want me to run through a little bit about like what I anticipate or like, not necessarily like my race tactics, because I don't think they're like super secretive or anything. Harry: Yeah. 100%. Yeah. Yeah, no, think ⁓ it's interesting because, ⁓ yeah, you've just mentioned, like, hopefully get a bit lucky on race day. And I think we've touched on this before, you know, but ⁓ it's almost like I don't feel like people get lucky on race day. feel like you get opportunities presented to you. And if you take those opportunities, it presents itself as luck. But it's like you've actually had to make Andrew Horsfall-Turner: You Yes, yeah. Harry: a decision, whether it was a tactical decision or whatever, it presents itself as luck. But actually, you've had to force that you've had to do something. So I'm excited to see race because I feel like you're in a really good position. And I think the race itself was the start list. I think everyone thought that it would be super soft, but actually Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, 100%. Yeah. Harry: There's some really good athletes on the start list, which is awesome. It's cool for you to get involved in the mix with that. Why don't you just talk us through, how do you think the race will pan out knowing now the start list and the caliber of athletes that are there? How do you think the race will pan out with you in it? And how do you see yourself navigating through the race? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Yeah, no, good question. I think again, it's fortunate I've done the race last year because I kind of had a good taste of, you know, what kind of output gave me kind of what in a sense. And last year it was pro series race. We had a few athletes up the road, some big names. So you had Ditlev, Martin Van Riel and Schomburg up the road. Harry: Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: And I basically did 180K completely solo on the bike. So, and actually what was really, I guess, not frustrating, but what was a little bit frustrating last year was that there was a group maybe three to five minutes behind me, the whole kind of ride. And that group had maybe seven to 10 athletes in, kind of all riding 12 meters apart. Harry: Yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: So I kind of like, it's funny because we all got emailed our race ranger data at the end of the season and South Africa I got like zero, zero, zero percent in everything. Like overtakes, yo-yo. It was like, basically my data was like, you did not get a draft. You got zero mate. Harry: Mm-mm. Yeah. It was just nothing. Yeah, yeah, which is good. But you're also like, you see the other athletes and their numbers, you're like, for fuck's sake. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. But I truly believe that if I approach the race in a similar way, so think there'll be people up the front, so Jamie Riddle, myself, Ollie Turner, Matthew Marquardt maybe, ⁓ maybe Matti Signorelli, ⁓ maybe Florian Anger, so like there could be a swim group with anything between three to say six. Harry: Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I think Jamie Riddle has got this ridiculous get out speed over 200, 300 meters. So, and I do believe that if he wanted to gap us, he can, but I don't think he's actually a better swimmer after that 300 meters. So I think I was speaking to someone about this earlier. I think there's a possibility where he gets a 25, 30 second gap and then he just swims 25 seconds ahead of us for the rest of the swim. Harry: Yeah. Mmm. He could. Yeah. Mmm, and then holds it. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, yeah. I'm like, I also know that he really, like Jamie is desperate to win this race and I think he's going to go super hard on the bike. And I don't think I actually want to ride with him. So I'm like, if Jamie's hanging 20 seconds, 25 seconds ahead of us on the swim, do we want to burn loads of matches to try and close him down? Like, I'm not too sure I do. ⁓ You know, maybe someone in the group does. Harry: course. Yeah. Well, so this is actually potentially an opportunity for you and other athletes because you know what it's like when you're dying to win a race and obviously Jamie wants to win because he's South African. But if you take yourself back to the first year in Swansea, you were desperate to win and you rode like a fucking idiot. so it like it. So he could it almost could be. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. You blow yourself to bits. Harry: it could be an advantage for you because he could race outside of his capabilities and obviously he's an incredible athlete but if he races way too hot on the bike and he tries to dick swing and he's like yeah I've got this cleaned up you I mean yeah he's beatable like he's you know he could just fuck up his tactics Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. And that's what... And that's what I kind of, yeah, I almost in a sense, in a tactical sense, want him to kind of do that because, you know, that kind of plays to everyone else's advantage. And I think from my perspective, I'm not too fussed about riding with, like, there's no one who I see who I go swim with, like, maybe like a Florian or something like that, but there's no one I'm like, I'm desperate to ride 180K, 20, 25 meter space with you. Harry: 100%. Yeah. Mm. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: So I'm actually going into it with the mentality of like, I kind of want to solo TT it again, be it, you know, in second position or be it in third or fourth, fifth position, but stick to what I did and knowing how I executed the bike last year and knowing how, how easily I can make a big improvement on that bike split. Just if I just individualize it and just say like, right, I know I did this time last year, this was the power output I did. Harry: Yeah, Faf. Mmm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: This is how this is what I did wrong, basically. And I basically want to try and just do it right and see what that gets me. ⁓ and then if I get that right and get off the bike and then run to, you know, not maybe not like the top, top level of what I think is possible, but like a good level of which I'd be satisfied with. I think that I will put myself in a position to be competitive and I'm not sure if competitive is, you know, Harry: Yeah. Mm. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: fighting for third to fifth place or if competitive is you know coming in like tenth place and like sneaking in the money because to a certain degree I kind of have no control over anyone else on the start list and I obviously I did the race last year and if I can go say 25 to 30 minutes quicker because I execute a good marathon and I save a bit of time on the bike actually if I finish 20th Harry: Mmm Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I can probably look at that result and be like, wow, I had a really good race. So I kind of like, in my mentality, I'm definitely going into this race very like, I guess, Lionel Sanders style, like I'm going to do the best that I can do. And yes, I'm going to, obviously my race head will come in a few times and I'll definitely follow a few wheels and I definitely will do a couple of things I say I'm not going to do before the race. But... Harry: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: But I think if I can be mature, if I can be sensible and put myself, you know, look after myself and put myself out there all day, I'd be disappointed if I wasn't competitive and I'll kind of have to leave what is competitive after the race. You have to ask me if I feel like I was competitive or not. Harry: Yeah, well, that's it, you know, like you can have a... ⁓ I think it was, who was it? Steve Profetain or something? This ⁓ old like old school runner who was always like a front runner. And I think it was his coach or something would say something like, you know, a mediocre effort can get you a win, but a spectacular effort, maybe you get second or third or... Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Okay. Harry: whatever, 20th place, you know, like sometimes you have an amazing race and you do everything right and you hit your numbers and you PB and all of this and you still get, I don't know, 15th to 20th place. Like we talking to Josh Lewis the other week and like he had an incredible race at Oceanside. For him, epic race, but he still was out of the prize money and it kind of sucks. But also you've probably had races before where, you know, like Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Harry: maybe things didn't quite go right or you weren't quite as powerful as you could have been but you got a top three or you got a top five and you got in the prize money you're like oh well it was an average day but I actually did okay. So it's really hard because yeah sometimes you can have such a good race but other people are just the level is just a little bit higher so it would be very interesting to see but what's I mean Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I okay, yeah. Yeah. Harry: There's a lot of talk about like the marathon times at the minute, obviously with people consistently knocking on the door now of like 2.30. What would be a good time for you? Like, yeah, no, I don't think so either. What time for you would you look at and be like, that was a banging run? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah, I don't think anyone's going to be doing that in South Africa. So yeah, it's gonna actually... To be honest mate, I've officially never broken three hours in an Ironman marathon. So I'm not gonna lie to you, I will be happy if I saw 259.59 because again, like yes I have the aspiration of going to Kona and I have aspirations of like, you know, being super competitive, podium winning races, whatever. But I'm also like a realist in the sense that I know that I need to make an improvement, so... Harry: Okay. Okay, fair. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: that improvement is just stepping forward a little bit and I kind of sound like a broken record because I have this conversation with my dad for the last couple of years which is like, I just fucking need to break through hours. I just need to break through hours. I just need to get through that barrier and then hopefully I break through hours and then I never run over three hours in rest of my career. ⁓ But it hasn't happened yet. So that would be like, I will be satisfied as long as I do that. Harry: Sure. Hmm Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: I think I can run a hell of a lot quicker than that. And I think like, if I'm honest, I would be very satisfied if I ran more like a 250. I think my capability is a lot better than that. Harry: Okay. I always think so as well. I think you can go 245 to 240, 245 to 248, I think is where you're at. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Oof. Mate. I- I- Yeah. Yes. I- I- I think I can. ⁓ But I'm not gonna- I'm not gonna give myself that carrot and get too excited about it, I think. Until- until- You know, ultimately, as- as I said, if I run sub three hours, if I run like 2.50 this weekend, I think that will give me so much confidence going into my next one this year, that maybe... Yeah. Harry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just a barrier broken down, you know. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Yeah is. And I'm like, you know, it might not happen next weekend, like shit can happen, like anything can happen in these things. But I do believe that when I crack it, you know, think, I think that I think the possibility, the capability is there to run really well. Cause I think I suit the longer, I suit the longer kind of durable kind of running style, especially like, I love getting into like a long run in training. I love getting like stuck into like, just like Harry: Mmm. Yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: solid running work. I don't think I like speed. ⁓ So yeah, I think let's get my head down, get working and see what happens on race day. Harry: Mmm. Yeah. Mate, I'm looking forward to it. Given that it's in African Champs, is there a live feed or is it just on the app? Andrew Horsfall-Turner: There is no live feed. I'm not sure if there would be anything like on their social media. But yeah, I think it would just be an app watcher, a dot watcher. But yeah, mate, it's a, you know, ultimately it's a big prize purse field. So it's 150k compared to Texas, which is 175k. So it's 25k more in Texas, but you know, I'm racing 30 men, whereas like Texas, they're racing like 75. Harry: Mm. Yeah. Massive. Yeah, yeah. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: So I feel like ⁓ from a earning potential, this was a much better call. So anyone who did decide to come to South Africa is definitely making a better call. ⁓ But mate, yeah, I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm gonna be watching Texas on the Saturday when I'm, you know, got my legs up ready for Sunday. And I'm definitely gonna have a bit of envy that I'm not, you know, not there, but maybe I'll be back there in 27. Harry: ⁓ 100%. Yeah. I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure it'll get you fired up. Well, it sounds like we've both got the same sort of plan for 27 with the Pro Series. So we're doing Texas together. We'll take the one and two. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: We'll have to line up, yeah. The, well, I was going to say what hype train are we, but I don't think ⁓ the British hype train just has the same effect as anything. Harry: I don't think we've got any hype around us. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: We're British people, zero hype. Harry: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what they call us. So, sweet Azmeh, I think the next podcast will probably be after you've raced so we can chat through how things have gone. Fingers crossed you've cleaned up, you've got all your prize money, you can spend all your lovely new money on something nice for your wife. And we can chat through how it's gone. Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Ugh, love it mate, love it. Mm. I think I'm not I could I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure like South Africa. I'm a suffer sponsored by that South African car companies it like is you or something like that And I'm sure that a few ⁓ I'm sure a few years ago the winner of like I'm a South African used to get given a car But I think they've got rid of this now, so I think so Harry: I have no idea. no way! Oh that would be men, imagine! Andrew Horsfall-Turner: Can you finishing on my South African and then handing you a key and be like, this is your car? I'm like, right, how am getting this on the plane? Harry: Yeah, imagine like, good luck, get it back to the UK yourself, dickhead.
