Ashton: And this is Accessibly Ever After, where we talk all things accessible beauty, inclusive design, and what it really means to make beauty work for real people. Kailey: Every week we start with our crown and curse of the week, also known as something good that happened to us this week and something bad that happened to us this week. Ashin, I'm gonna start this week because I mentioned something to you that made you gag, and I need to give you more information on it. Ashton: I do need more context. Okay, tell me about your crown. Kailey: Okay, so I was traveling and I went to Maine over the weekend on a little girls' trip and every night we would have a sweet treat and often it would be ice cream. And yes, sweet Ashton: my god, I love sweet treat o'clock. That's so cute. Kailey: it happened every night. It was so fun, but I often am pretty sensitive to milk. So like lots of milkies lactades were being consumed. And then We got to Bar Harbor there was this ice cream shop and they had vegan ice cream. And my friend is dairy free, but she's also allergic to nuts. So depending on what milk is used in Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: the ice cream, she can't always eat So she asked what it was, And it was lentil soft serve. So it was vegan and it was Ashton: I don't I don't know how to feel. Kailey: No, you should feel good. It was vanilla and chocolate. So I got the vanilla chocolate swirl with rainbow sprinkles, vegan lentil ice cream, and it was so good. Like so good. I truly need to Google where I can get lentil ice cream in Baltimore because it was Ashton: I'm just mind blown a little bit. I know that lentils can make things creamy. We blend lentils into our pasta sauce to like make it creamy and also add in more fiber and protein. But I I have never had or heard of lentil ice cream. Kailey: No, I y I hadn't either. And so that's when they were like lentils. We were like, All right, let's go for it. Let's see what happens and it was so good. I got a second one the next day. It was so good. Ashton: That's honestly crazy, but now you know. Apparently we're plugging lentil ice cream. If you have the opportunity to try lentil ice cream, you should, I guess. Kailey: Highly recommend. Highly recommend. Okay. What is your crown? Ashton: Ugh, I signed a new lease after literally Kailey: Yay. Ashton: house hunting, apartment hunting for forever. I I've been exhausted, but it's so nice to like know where we're going and we moved like half of our stuff last weekend, which was so great. So we have about Kailey: Nice. Ashton: half of a move left and I'm just really excited because our new home is actually accessible and I've never gotten to live in a fully accessible home. it made me like low key emotional. It's been it's been a really long time. Like this house that I'm living in now is great. It has a ramp, you know, so we do have at least that to like get in the house. There's no steps unless you go through the front. but there's carpet all throughout and the rest of the house is definitely not set up accessibly. So I'm very excited for that. What is your curse? Kailey: Yay! Okay. I this I don't know. I haven't had like a ton of cursed things happen to me this week, which is Ashton: Hey, that's good. Kailey: which is really exciting and thank you, universe. But Ashton: Thank you, universe. Kailey: I did fly home on Monday night and there were a ton of delays. And I did my first attempt ever at a standby flight. my original flight was supposed to leave at 7 50. but me and my friend, we ended up getting to the airport like way earlier than expected. And so there was an earlier flight that I was like, maybe I can make this one. But then as soon as I got to the airport, my original flight got delayed an hour and I was like, no, all the people who like the this is gonna be nuts. so I waited in security. And can we talk about how airport security is like the worst? Ashton: No, it's so bad. It's so bad. Between like all the why do they have like the most horrible, heinous, like fluorescent lights in there and like everybody's stressed, Kailey: I don't know. And then they like Ashton: everybody's yelling. Kailey: Yeah, and then specifically and I I know the TSA agents are probably all stressed out and like I would not want their job, Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: but they were so bad at communicating this time that like they were like, No, you you can't do that yet, or like you have to do this. The lady was trying to like figure out like how to get all of these suitcases on, you know, onto the little machine and then but like people were like trying to push them forward, but then she wouldn't let push forward. What whatever, that that's always a mess. But then I think they're like the big like where you put your arms up. I think it needed to be rebooted or something because we were waiting a little bit extra. Meanwhile, this entire time I'm like, I have to get to the gate. I have to get to the gate because I need to get on the standby list. And Ashton: Right. Kailey: so we're waiting, then finally it like gets rebooted or whatever. And the lady like gestures for me to come inside. And so I do the arm thing and stuff. And then I put my hands down because it's done. And I look and she's talking to someone else. So I'm like, okay, well, I guess it's been long enough. So I walk out a little bit, but then apparently it wasn't long enough. And then she was like, no, go back through. And I was like, okay, well, can you not pull me in then if you're gonna then turn Ashton: Right. Kailey: and do which again, I'm sure she was juggling five thousand things at once. But I was just like, This is so annoying. Just a minor inconvenience, you know? But then so I finally get through and I'm waiting for my bags to come through the little machine. But I had to like wait to be approved or s whatever, whatever. And then the girl from the original comes back and she's like, Grab your stuff. And I was like, I can't yet You guys need to talk to each other. and so then I finally got my stuff and I busted ass to the gate because it was like a good like probably half mile walk to the gate. Ashton: You were hustling. Kailey: And I was sweating. And then I get there and I get on standby, but I'm like the 15th person on standby and I was like, Ashton: I'm not gonna lie, Kailey: what? Ashton: that's like when I turn my smart drive on full Kailey: Uh-huh. Ashton: speed ahead wheelchair privilege, I guess. Kailey: my god, it was just crazy. And then I finally got to stand by I was like fifteenth in line. I was like, there's no way this is happening. because also at this time my flight had been delayed, but then there were all of these connecting flights because Southwest Hub is Baltimore. Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: so all of these other connecting flights were getting delayed. So all of these people who had already been there went now we're going through the flight that I wanted to originally get on. So that they could so Ashton: no. Kailey: it was just like a huge cluster. Ended up not getting on the standby lit or like not getting on the flane, which was fine. My flight really was only delayed an hour, which was perfectly fine. I Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: went, I sat at a bar, I had a glass of wine, I did some editing. so it ended up fine, but it was just it's just stressful in airports. I just Ashton: It is, it is, and God forbid you're like neurodivergent. It's just really truly an experience. honestly as a disabled person, TSA is a humiliation ritual and there's Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: literally like no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It's horrible. Like it's it you obviously can ask to go in a separate room, but the pat down is crazy. You usually wait for freaking forever for someone of the same sex to Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: Do your pot down. Anyways, I hate it. It's horrible. It sucks. And also, just like generally, the airport is like one of the most overstimulating, anxiety-inducing places already. it's bad. It doesn't I'm I'm glad you made it home safely. Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: but yeah, it's it's rough out there. I honestly I hate flying. I'm gonna be so I hate flying. I'm going to Harry Styles in August and I think I'm gonna take Amtrak because fuck that. Kailey: You Yay. Ashton: Now I'm gonna yap about my curse, which is not very specific, but just like generally, my body is revolting. I think it's from moving like half of our stuff because it was just me and Julie. Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: and I definitely overdid it because I was like, I just wanna get this done quickly. I wanna like make this longer than it has to be. It was like Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: on and off raining, so I didn't want to be rained on. So I was like, Well it's not raining, we have to hurry. we move we moved like half of our stuff into our storage unit. because we don't have our lease yet. Like it starts on on the first of the month. but Kailey: So you're gonna have to move, move, move, move. Ashton: Yeah. Yeah, it's not over. But like the nice thing about that is we have a truck for the day of move. So we'll like move in the stuff from that we're moving from the house here. a lot of what's left is like what we actually need in our space, obviously, because it's what we like haven't moved yet. and so we'll move that stuff into the place and then we can like gradually take loads from the storage unit. We don't have like a ton over there that we have to move to our place, but it's like all non-essentials. Again, it's like stuff I'm dealing with out for, you know, a handful of weeks. So it's not urgent. when it is over, I will be so glad and so grateful it's already hard to move if you are able bodied but Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: My chronic illness, like this summer, my pots has just been really, really rough. Like all of my pot symptoms have me like fighting for my life right now, just like on the regular. I feel like I'm having hot flash. I also think I'm maybe going into I have like premature ovarian insufficiency from having one removed when I was young. And so I think I'm having like my first bit of like. Perrymenopause symptoms, because they told me to expect it in advance of 40, and I'm currently 34. they never like replaced hormones or anything. So like I knew this was coming. just some things are like showing up that are like not my normal. So that is also happening. I'm just exhausted. I can handle my jobs on a regular basis, but I'm spinning so many blades right now because I'm also balancing the move and I'm also balancing like what the move has done to my body. realistically, I knew this was coming, but like, girl, I'm tired. It does. I just want to be done with it. I will feel Kailey: It's gotta still suck to be like going through it. Yeah. Yeah. Ashton: so relieved. And like unpacking, I can also kind of do at my you know, slowly. Like it doesn't have to be immediate. We just have to get the things in the space so that I can unpack and I've also been just like we don't where we don't have like curtains and stuff. So we went in and like measured our whole unit this past weekend too when we were there putting stuff in the storage unit. And we found out that our place has like optional roll unders and we don't need them under every 'cause like it there's Like the bathroom sink is already like honestly decent for getting my wheels under, but like we could add more of a roll under there. We are leaving that though. But the kitchen sink, that's like somewhere where I'm sustaining like a lot of time. Like I'm washing dishes Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: or I'm cooking. so we are gonna have them convert that, which is great. at first we were looking at it, I've never seen like optional roll, but it's a new build. It so it was built with the regular. shelving underneath but then you could see like the tilted it was so weird and we were like what the heck did they just like not finish building this then we realized that no it was Kailey: It's accessible. Ashton: it was accessible it was just very confusing looking at it but now Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: we have all that settled so I'm very excited again it's gonna be so nice to be an accessible space and like we'll be close to our amenities and there are so many amenities and I'm so excited I just need to get through Kailey: Yay. Ashton: this part and like get through my body being running my body into the ground a little bit. Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: and then I'll be fine and then I'll be good. Kailey: And then it'll be in a nice new accessible home. Ashton: Yeah, it'll be so worth it. But right now I'm in the trenches, guys. Kailey: And while you're in the trenches, let's just like brighten your spirits a little by talking about new makeup drops. Ashton: Hear ye, hear ye. New beauty drops are on the way. Kailey: Emco Beauty is reviving the original All Nighter setting spray formula with Skindenavia after Urban Decay cut ties. Yahoo! Ashton: This is so petty. Calling it the all dayer, this is actually so petty and I am I'm not Kailey: I know I know. Ashton: always on the dupe train. It's fine, like it's whatever. Kailey: This isn't a dupe though. This is This is the OG Wardlock. Yeah. Ashton: No, this is the actual like OG. But no, I'm saying like as far as like Inco and like the brands that are like constantly duping, I feel like kind of nuanced about it. But this, Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: this is petty and I am actually very much here for this. Kailey: if you didn't know the drama, Urban Decay is owned by L'Oreal and they cut ties with the Scandinavia supplier who was making their all-nighter setting spray for years. So then they basically said, We're gonna use our own labs, our own suppliers, whatever. This Ashton: Yeah, 'cause Scandinavia is still selling it. Kailey: yeah, Scandinavia has always sold their own version. Well the exact same product in their own packaging for a little bit cheaper. So it was kind of like a unlike a known secret. So it wasn't a secret, but it was something that not everyone knew. we don't know all the details, but it seemed like it was kind of unexpected. Scandinavia is, I think, somewhat of a smaller company. And so they were just kind of like a slap in the face, right? And like what is going on? Cut two now. MCO Beauty comes out and says we're partnered with Scandinavia and we're making the all dayer, which is the exact sa it's the same Scandinavia formula, but sold at a lower price point, and it's called All Dayer. Ashton: I honestly this is so funny to me. Kailey: it'll it'll be like twenty USD, we hope. previously was like what, forty something. So it's like fifty percent. Ashton: Yeah, it was like thirty nine dollars and thirty five cents, roughly, USD. Kailey: Yeah. Yeah. So it's like fifty percent less than what Urban Decay was selling it for. Ashton: just have to like laugh a little because it was like not an amicable split. also I think great for a lot of folks who did love that original formula. And like yes, you can get it from Scandinavia, but now you'll be able to also purchase the exact same thing from MCO. For again, like twenty dollars. Kailey: And so the Scandinavia bottle is typically a little bit more slippery packaging, like it's Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: that shiny, whereas this packaging looks like it's gonna be basically very similar with that like soft matte Ashton: Mm. Kailey: cap. The again, the nozzle is your typical. still gotta figure out an accessible way around that. Is it petty or is it just business? Ashton: I think it's business and also maybe at least mildly petty. but I mean again, Imco, Kailey: The name. Ashton: yeah, the name. The name in particular, but I will say that Imco does do a lot of that where they do like kind of like play on words with brands products when they're duping Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: something. that's not really like new to them either. but it yeah, the name's a little petty. Kailey: Yeah, the name's a little petty, but I'm really glad Scandinavia has found a new home. and I Ashton: Same. Kailey: hope that it continues and I definitely once it's available in the US because the Scandinavia setting spray is so good. It Ashton: It is. It is so good. I love the like cooling technology Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: that they use. And I mean it's it's got a cult following for a reason. Like this has been around since like the 2016 era, Kailey: If you haven't tried it, we highly recommend especially if it's the price has been a barrier it is it is a great formula. Ashton: All right, now the next launch. the future IQ hair longevity serum from K18. this serum is really targeted towards like hair thinning, towards reducing then like targeting like graying. and supposed to help with just like your scalp health as a whole. So, like, supposed to help with also like flaky or dry scalps, which we know that you get some of those benefits, like as far as like less shedding and all those things, like if your scalp is healthy, if it's hydrated, that's important. the thing I was immediately excited about is this is a serum, just like their hair oil is in one of these like push to dispense droppers. Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: the serum is also in that. Kailey: Yeah, thank goodness. Which just makes it easier to get the correct dosage into the little pipette Ashton: I agree. I also just like generally I think it's easier for me than like pinching and squeezing. So I do Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: really appreciate when brands use this packaging. This does look like it might be a little glossy, like the actual body of the product. Kailey: Yeah, I would agree. Ashton: But and obviously the the cap as well. It's like a a silver glossy situation. I'll have to try this out for myself before I can obviously fully recommend it. But again, I really wanted to talk about the packaging and it's fragrance free. So if you're sensitive Kailey: That's nice. Ashton: to fragrance, that that's another bonus. Kailey: Do you have grey hairs yet? Ashton: Yes, do you? Kailey: No. Ashton: I color my hair so Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: I don't see them very often. Kailey: I don't think I'm gonna pick this up because I don't think it's something that I specifically struggle with yet. I am seeing a little bit of thinning as I get older, but not to the extent that I would need $120 product. to support Ashton: Right, so valid. It says that the key benefits retain up to nineteen thousand more hairs. 70% showed pure grays, 100% showed improved scalp barrier. I'll definitely try it out, give it a a go because I am working on something I've been working on for like the last year is my scalp health because I have Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: had a lot of shedding and thinning. I've struggled with hair loss. I've talked about this on my platforms, but I have PCOS and I have, you know, several medications that also cause hair loss and On top of that, as I mentioned earlier, I have premature ovarian insufficiency. So I am lacking a lot of those hormones that, you need to continue growing hair at the the level that you know, someone with normal hormones would. so yeah, I mean I would give it a go. I would give it a shot, but If the price point is inaccessible, totally get it. but this could be a great option if you are looking for scalp serum or something to you know help with thinning and are looking for a press button option because I will say that the competitor that I use does not have a push dispense. Kailey: Mm-mm. Yeah, the push dispense is really nice. And K18, I mean, their formulas are fabulous. Like, I love their dry Ashton: Yes. Yeah. Kailey: shampoo, their spray dry shampoo. So good. it's Ashton: It is so good. Kailey: just it's just a a good time. right. Moving away from hair, we are switching to a concealer. This is the Dibbs Beauty Concealer and Brightener Duo. this is a two-in-one complexion stick. It's called the Edit Stick, their first ever two in one concealer brightener. Two formulas, two edits, one perfected complexion. So the one side is for concealing, and then the second side is to brighten. I love this. Ashton: I like the idea definitely because I'm like, I love anything that's like a two-in-one, less products to interact with, et cetera. One thing I want to note though, I looked all over. I could not find any marketing photos with the caps on these. Kailey: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ashton: I thought was weird. like, where where how am I supposed to find Kailey: I will say based on the cap off look, Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: it looks like it's just like a pull like a pull because it has that tiny little plasticky protrusion in the middle, which is normally Ashton: Gotcha. Kailey: where it like clicks on and like to pull it off, and then I'm they're probably twist up like most other components of this nature. Yeah. Ashton: Yeah, I would assume definitely twist up, but I I just thought it was interesting and like something that bothers me, I guess, like in marketing is like when we can't see the tops to things Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: because we know that often when we go into a place like Sephora or Ulta, they also a lot of times don't have those caps available. So Kailey: Yeah. Yeah. Ashton: if I can't see it in your marketing and I can't see it in the store, how am I supposed to know? How easy or difficult it is for me to open something. Kailey: Yeah, I completely agree. It you're not gonna know is the answer. You're gonna have to either break the law, which it's not the law, but open one of the ones that you shouldn't be opening and trying it, which I am not recommending you do because that's means someone else is gonna buy a used product, which is gross. Or people have said like you can ask them to make a new tester, but I could not imagine being like, hey. Can you open a new one for me because this isn't this isn't doing it? Like what do you do it. Ashton: No, literally. I mean you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess, but this reminds me a lot of the I don't know about you, but this reminded me a lot of like the merit minimalist complexion stick. Yes, same. Kailey: Yeah, which I really like. And I just want to go back to the like the the do it as if if you're comfortable with asking someone that, go for it. I don't think that should be the onus should not be put on you to have to Ashton: Right. Kailey: go out of your way to ask for someone and create a potentially awkward situation where you're like, Well, I don't know if I can open this or not. And the person might or might not understand. Like, it's just something I personally would rather not have to deal with, which just means like Put the caps out, you know? Put on a put on a string. I don't care. Ashton: Real. Yeah, we also know like that makes the product like cleaner. Like, I Kailey: Yes. Ashton: I just like, why are guys? And like Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: also prevents things from drying out. Like, there's a reason we have caps on products, okay? I hear it's because of theft. I hear it's because they get lost anyways. I hear all these things, but also, girl. So Athena Club, who I honestly have been really loving what they've been putting out recently. been very excited ever since they came out with those new body mists that are with the I did a review on these, but with the like sh like chubber body, Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: With the like little cloud lid, they're so easy to Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: open because they're so ergonomic. if you want Kailey: Yay. Ashton: to see more about that, go go dig on my page somewhere. I did a review of a scent that I really loved that I thought was a nice dupe for glossy you. Kailey: Ooh. Ashton: yes, it smells really I something letter letter love letter? it's love letter. highly recommend it. It smells really good. but they just Kailey: okay. Ashton: came out with two new fragrances, banana sun milk. Now, this caught my attention immediately because I love banana fragrances. I Kailey: What do you mean? Ashton: was so excited about this. And I think that this is like creamy banana. That's the vibe I get. the scent notes are banana milk, coconut cream, and soft serve. and I'm like, that sounds actually delicious. I hate when things are like too coconut heavy, which I know I talk about on here a lot because I just feel like we get served a lot of coconut fragrances in the summer. but I I I feel like I could get behind this. The description is banana sun milk is a tropical escape in every spritz, sun drenched and deliciously creamy. Banana milk and Tahitian Minoi blend with coconut cream and jasmine, setting into a warm sugar cane and vanilla for a tropical gourmand that feels sunny, smooth, and indulgent. I really want to try this one. I at least want to go spray this in store and like make sure it's not too coconut forward. And then the other one that they came out with, we can talk about both, but the other one they came out with is Pink marshmallow, which I'm hearing is a la like a kaali, like yam bougie marshmallow dupe. Kailey: Okay. Ashton: top notes of fluffy marshmallow, wild strawberry, and crisp apple, mid notes of whipped cream, sugar crystals, pink chantilly, and base notes of vanilla bean, raspberry meringue, and soft must. This sounds like you would hate this, but. Kailey: can I say something crazy? Ashton: Yeah. Yeah. Kailey: I got vanilla ri what is it vanilla rice? What is the new one? Ashton: Yes, yeah, vanilla rice from Alice Brooklyn. Kailey: Ellis Brooklyn, I got vanilla rice and I actually I liked it. I know. Ashton: Did you like it? Kailey: It's like the one milky fragrance all do. Ashton: Guys, like you don't know how big of a development this is. Kailey: I know I really I have to make a video about it because this is this is this is a big deal. I like I didn't it wasn't so creamy that I was like I feel Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: like I'm wearing milk. Ashton: Yeah, okay, that's fair. I mean I feel like if it's like sweet almost like a sweeter milk or a sweeter cream, maybe that's like the difference. Because I feel like sometimes Kailey: But it wasn't even Ashton: like the milky almost like has this like sourness to it. Kailey: Yeah, it I I have to sniff I have to sniff it more. I have to try it again. But I put it on and I was like, wait, I smell good. I like it. So maybe Ashton: Wait a dang minute. Kailey: I'm expanding my horizons. Although the banana milk I still think is gonna be too sweet for me. The wild Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: strawberry and crisp apple is what's like making me think I might like this, but then when you look at like whipped cream, sugar crystals, again, it I think it might be too sweet. Ashton: Pink chantilly. Like yeah, that's a very sweet fragrance. It literally is. Kailey: Yeah, that's like a cake, which I love a strawberry shortcake. That's like my favorite, but I don't know that I wanna smell like that all the time because then I'm gonna wanna buy that all the time. And Ashton: That's yeah, that's so real and so fair. I I really want to try I want to try both just for the sake of trying Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: them because I did really like the packaging. and again, like love letter, I really enjoyed. have purchased so many things in that scent now. I have the body wash, I have the lotion. I just really enjoyed it. and it is a la. It's definitely like the pink peppery, like a la glossy AU, but The banana sun milk is I've seen a lot of brands doing banana fragrances this summer or spring, and I am very intrigued because I don't currently own one, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I like fruity scents and I love like anything that's like creamy, milky. feel like I might like this. Kailey: Yeah. And the packaging itself, like you mentioned, it's like a little cloud top. So it gives you a good amount of space to like pull it off. I'm assuming the actuator your typical. Yeah. Ashton: It is. Your hand, I I don't know if you've like actually felt these, but your hand fits perfectly like in the the like ridges of the cloud, like the bumps of the cloud. That's how I'm trying. So you can get like Kailey: Mm, okay, so it's like three, yeah. Ashton: the best grasp over this. It fits perfectly like my hand just barely wraps around the little cloud and my Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: fingers have a place to go. So I feel like I have in a like a really great grip. And it doesn't take a lot of strength to remove these tops, I find. Kailey: I love that. So definitely more accessible version if you are someone who can handle the actuator but needs some help pulling off tops. Ashton: We're sticking right in the realm of fragrance. Tell me about our next launch. Kailey: is a new collaboration with Bath Body Works and Hillary Duff. Hilary Duff's everywhere right now. She's having a resurgence. I love that. Ashton: She is. She's getting her bag. Kailey: I loved Lizzie McGuire. That was my show Ashton: Same. Kailey: as a kid. And so this is a fruit fusion collection. There's four different scents, and each collection has a body wash, a body cream, a perfume mist, a body lotion, a lip oil, a pocket spray hand sanitizer, a hand cream, a coin purse, and a pocket spray holder. The scents are watermelon whirl, banana blend, another banana, a berry bliss. Ashton: I'm excited. I want to try it. Kailey: And a tangerine twirl. Which one is calling to you the most? Ashton: Well, banana blend, naturally. as I saw the marketing for this, I was like, I think I fear I do actually have to try this. I love bergamot, which is in the top notes. And I thought I made up the word emo because I thought Ashton: Hmm. Kailey: it sounded cool. I didn't know it was connected to like I didn't know what being emo was. and it really couldn't have been further from what I actually like my vibe is. Ashton: That's okay. I will say the little pocket spray holders are so freaking cute. Like the little Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: watermelon slice. What why are these so cute? I've this whole collection really kind of reminds me of like the 90s. I'm Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: getting a lot of 90s vibes, which I guess makes sense with the Hillary Duff. The lip oil is like ridged. I think the whole collection has like a matte texture ish. Kailey: Mm. Ashton: Mmm. It's like somewhere between a matte and a glossy and I don't know how to to to describe that other Kailey: Yeah, so I think it's kind of hard to see in marketing pictures because they're all spritzed with water. So it's Ashton: T. Kailey: all wet, which makes it look more shiny. I think it's gonna be a little bit more glossy packaging, just knowing what Ashton: You might be right. Kailey: Bath and Body Works is naturally. But I will say, again, their like body mists also have those ridges. Their lip oil cap has those ridges. the body wash. Actually has like a press down pump, their hand cream is a hex cap, which I posted Ashton: Have scop. Kailey: a video saying that I don't like hex caps. And I did have a few people say they like them. So if you're one of those people, tell me more because they said like it makes it easier the ridges to hold on to, which I Ashton: Like the grip points, yeah. Kailey: completely understand. And I think if it was a larger cap, I would have a different story. But I think because the ridges are still so small, I find it painful to open these. Like it hurts my fingers and then I lose the caps immediately because I accidentally drop them or throw them constantly. Ashton: Real. Kailey: But other but again, like if you find that to be a more accessible feature for you, I love that for you. Get it. I Ashton: Right. Kailey: personally I don't know that I would recommend it, but if you're a fan and if you have like more insight into why it's better, please let me know. Mm-hmm. the one last thing before we move on to the next product is with the I think this the body sprays and like the hair sprays are definitely the most accessible, in my opinion, of the products in this line because they also have little charms on them. So if you are someone who needs like a tactile cue or you have low vision. and you want multiple scents, you can potentially use the little charms to feel like what the different scents are Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: so that you know. And they also are all different colors, but depending on your specific needs, I think the little charms on each is just like a really fun, cute, accessible element. Ashton: Yeah, and it's whimsical and we love that. Moving on to our next product, we have the lip toy staining brush lip liner from Urban Decay. looking at this and I know there is a smaller business that I purchase a staining lip liner from that does use a brush tip that this looks very similar to. But I will say that this packaging versus the other one is seemingly matte and I do Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: appreciate that. Like I feel like it might be a little easier to hold. I wish it had some corners or something because obviously like it's very round. It's still gonna roll around. But it's coming in six shades. flaunt, which is a pink berry, Timped, which is a warm brown, Koi, which is a muted golden brown, banter, which is brick red, Hose, a muted rosewood, and sass, a nude pink. How are you feeling about this? Give me your thoughts. Kailey: I I like that it is matte. Like you said, the other product is the Buble, Rudy Berry's Buble, which one, Ashton: It is. Kailey: I love Rudy, two, I Ashton: Same. Kailey: love her products, are gonna be hard to beat because the brush like loads product really well. It's really easy to put on. It like glides. Ashton: It's so good. Kailey: If you are someone who wants lip liner, but you kind of like struggle with controlling sometimes it doesn't sound like it would be because it's like a stained color but sometimes the brushes make it easier because there's not as much strength required like you can glide it on a Ashton: Right. Kailey: bit easier. If you have tremors, I don't know that I would recommend this kind of product for you. I'd probably honestly recommend the road blending liners or like the Revlon blend like the blendable ones. Ashton: Yeah. Where you have more room for error. Kailey: Yeah, there's more room for error there. But if you're someone with like low strength Who wants that more like defined outside lip look that's gonna last. I think also this is a good kind of energy conservation piece where they do stain. So hopefully there is like a lasting stain there. So you don't need to reapply as often if you are someone who Ashton: Right. Kailey: likes to have a fresh looking lip every day. So I I am interested in these. I think I'm gonna have to see how they hold up. I know like the summer Fridays one, I I couldn't get the product out of that tip. Ashton: I didn't like it. I just tested it in store and I did not like it. Kailey: I bought it because in store I liked it. And then the one that I brought home, I could not get enough stain. So it was just like more problem than it was worth. So again, it's gonna be to dethrone my top. I don't know that it's gonna do it, but I am interested. Ashton: Yeah, and I want to talk about Rudy's for a second. If we're getting into it, we're gonna get into it. I was at the launch Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: party for her lip liner, and when I first tried that, I would I was mind blown because I didn't own any product quite like it. I came home that night after the party that I tried to take it off with an oil cleanser and it was not budging. And that's how you know it was good. Like I was using the do Ethereal. That stuff was not budging. It did not go anywhere. And fun fact, she's about to launch some new shades. So Kailey: I know. Ashton: I I will take the opportunity to plug that here. She is a, you know, it is a small business. She's done a really great job with listening to her customers and, know, making packaging changes. She's done a lot of like research, like groups with her products. they recently Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: she has her berry freckled pen as well, and they recently redid Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: the cap because of community feedback. So I I would say that that is currently also my number one and it would be really hard to dethrone it. I'm very excited to try the new shades. I mean, if you're looking, if you are in need of something that maybe is a little more matte, this might be a good option for you. All in all, though, I do love a lip stain personally. Kailey: talking strictly the urban decay I do like that it's a matte packaging and they do Ashton: Same. Kailey: have a wide range of shades. So we'll see if it's as juicy and easy to use. I have a limited range of motion in my shoulders, and washing my hair in the shower has become almost impossible some days. I love how it feels to have clean styled hair, but I'm getting to the point where I dread wash day. Are there tools or techniques that I could use to make this easier without giving up the routine I love? Kailey: in my experience, hair is harder to adapt than makeup There's a lot of different lengths, a lot of like it, it's it's fatiguing. So can be really hard. tool wise, I forget the name, but they make a long handled lotion applicator. have do they make specific ones? Ashton: They make ones that are long-handled hair washers. They have like the silicone kind and then ones that look a little more like a traditional brush almost. Kailey: Yep, yep, yep, yep. Ashton: like ones that are like the little scrubbers that we sometimes use in our showers. Kailey: So equip me OT is the one I was thinking about with the long-handled lotion. It would totally make sense that she then created ones for actually washing your hair. I love Equip Me OT. Yeah. Yeah. Ashton: Yes. Yes. And it's like nineteen dollars. It's eighteen ninety nine. So love that. Kailey: So good. So good. I think that is probably the best option for like shampooing because you're just doing it without moving your shoulders as much, especially if you're talking about having clean styled hair. Ashton, did you have any other ideas? Ashton: No, I was just like thinking too about just like generally like hair tools when your range of motion might be limited with your shoulders. I was thinking about like dryer stands and like, you know, maybe having a dryer or like a one of the like sharks where you could like curl your hair a little more Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: easily because I feel like those have long you can get the like long barrel ones. Kailey: Yeah. Ashton: and I feel like you don't have to take your arm super far for for that because the air like pulls it. Kailey: I think finding those long handled is gonna be your best bet. if you can't afford the new tool and you need to kind of MacGyver a situation if you already have some sort of like handheld scrubber, I know those a lot of people seem to have those these days. Ashton: Yeah. Kailey: you can like glue it onto like a ruler or some sort of like you you can Ashton: I was like a paint stick. You could get that for free. Kailey: Yeah, you can you can make your own. I don't think it'll last as well as the the Ashton: Right. Kailey: ones, but there are ways to kind of like figure it out. The other thing was taking those, again, that kind of same scrubber head, but putting it on the wall of your shower so that way you don't even have to use your arm at all and you can just like use your head. But again, that's gonna be a more Permanent solution because to actually like affix that to your wall, like is is gonna take some finagling of maybe duct tape to try it out or something. But that is another kind of potential. I think to choosing hair like shampoo and conditioner that is easy to pump out for you. So we're trying to again just reduce the overall amount of motion and strength you're doing so that you have more strength. and energy to really go in with a scrubber brush. So finding like Ashton: Right. Kailey: easy pump shampoos so you're not squeezing, go into your shower on a non wash day. And look at your space and try out these different techniques without wet hair so that you can kind of play around and see, what's gonna work for you so that when you actually are on wash day, you're not like trying to figure it out in the moment while water's pelting you in the face and you're wet and like that just made like practice first and see because I think that also would make it feel better, so that if you do need a little bit of trial and error. You're not dreading wash day because you're trialing and erring like at another time. Exactly. Ashton: At the same time you need to get the thing done. Yeah. Kailey: Exactly. So you're giving yourself time and energy. Ashton: Yeah, I think removing any points of of friction overall, Kailey: Mm-hmm. Ashton: because that's also just gonna help generally when it comes to being able to wash your hair, like just making all parts of your bathing shower routine more accessible, requiring less energy is also helpful.
