jonathan: What's going on, everybody? Turn up the volume and let's get into it. This is the Popcorn Power Podcast. My name is John, and with me, as always, is James. James: What's poppin', everyone? jonathan: All right, guys, The episode today, very special one. Sequels for films in the franchises. Now, my co-host. is giving me a lot of shit before this episode's even starting about the definition of sequels. So a sequel to me for this episode is gonna be anything that goes after the first film. Now I know someone here has a very strong opinion about what we're gonna rank and everything when we discuss this about how it has to be directly to the original, but that's not what we're gonna do. We're gonna talk about all the good sequels and franchises. We're gonna talk about shit franchise sequels. And I know James has strong opinions on sequels. So James, tell us what you think makes sequels to the originals and in the franchise, how it they differ, how they differentiate, and also what they can bring towards a franchise. James: Absolutely. First off, I wanna start the episode by saying, Fuck you and coming jonathan: Yeah. James: out my opinions like that. but yeah, so a sequel. To me sequels are a lo Yeah, choke on it, I'll be choke. sequels are are to me a very loaded task for any f movie franchise to do. Especially if the original movie stands the test of time. I'm talking about things like The Godfather, Alien, Terminator, things like that. You know, if you if you're gonna make a sequel worthy of a movie like that, it needs to come with the big guns. Now I gave t three really good examples of that. But the whole point the whole point of this episode is to talk about other films who've had subsequent films, ergo the definition of sequel subsequent films. But my co-host here wants to dive a little more into it. They want to do the whole film lineage, which I guess is fine. You can go that way. You can absolutely go that route if you need to. full caveat though, there is when I jonathan: Fine need to okay. Go fuck yourself. James: When I was making this list, I actually discovered there's a lot of solid sequels out there. Ones that I jonathan: Yes. James: I didn't even think about when I first started this list, and I was like, you know what, that's actually worthy of a note. especially when we start going back and forth about what makes a good sequel and things like that. And then later on in jonathan: Yeah. James: the episode when we do our draft. I'm gonna I'm gonna stand by my list. I am proud to say that I have no three, fours, fives, nines, twelves on mine. But but jonathan: my god, Christ almighty. James: but we'll debate it. So so John, I'm gonna kick it off to you. What what do you think makes a sequel worth watching? jonathan: it has to be a very solid follow-up to the previous film. Now, again, we talk about the lineage of films and franchises, so sometimes a sequel will shit the bed. It'll be like part two is shit, and then part three does it better than the second one. So in that case, I understand what you're saying with you know, the follow-up to the original. It's gotta especially when you have something so impactful for a film that you're pumping out a sequel, it better you have to live up to the original, but the problem is I feel a lot of sequels don't really live up to the original. It's very, it's very tough that you see a sequel surpass the original. Now we're we're gonna get into like the discussion of sequels, like you said, of That, we'll go back and forth like what's a good sequel to you, what's a good sequel to me. There are very few that have ever surpassed the original film in the franchise, to me. maybe, you know, when you bring something up, we'll debate it. I'll stick by my guns, you know, if I think it's not passing the original. But it's very few and far between. And the flow of the movie has to connect with previous films as well very well. If you're just gonna take liberties and with the f what happened in the first film or the previous one and you're gonna go a different direction. That kind of like it kinda like takes it away from me. So like I said, it's very far if you few far in between that a sequel has really surpassed the original. There's some, but it's not that many in my eyes. James: No, I agree. I have another question for you. When we're defining like what makes a great sequel, I I like what you said about how it needs to to continue the story. how do you feel about sequels that completely change the direction of the film? Like, if the original movie had a great story, a great plot, a great idea, the subsequent film did not just make another cookie cutter film in of itself, but it stood alone as its own movie. Do you feel like that hurts or Helps a sequel. jonathan: I feel that it really If it's done right, it could work, but I I don't think it really does it doesn't really connect with the film. Like what is I don't know what people are trying to do sometimes when they're like, we're gonna take this vision and go a different direction and Okay, give me an example. James: Can I give an example? Alright, I know obviously it will be on our draft, but I want to give an example. would you consider what they did between Alien and Aliens? It's a completely different story, completely different genre of movie. It went from a horror science fiction to an action film. jonathan: Okay. James: It completely pivoted from what made the original so good, but it worked. Do you think that it was a rare unicorn or do you think it jonathan: I I yes. James: it it you think that was a rare one and done thing? jonathan: I think it's I think it's a very rare occasion that you could completely shift gears on a franchise and go James: And make it work. jonathan: and make it work. You you have to like It's it's rare. I I I besides Aliens, I don't think there's been that many sequels that have completely shifted and as success and again, it may maybe it did okay, but when you're comparing it to a previous film that was good, like you Alien was groundbreaking at the time. And then to you got you you gotta have you gotta have a a backbone. To really go, no, we're gonna all right, we went from horror, we're gonna go to action sci-fi now and hope it works. James: Mm. Uh-huh. jonathan: And it and it did. And they bravo, they did it well. Again, I don't I can't think of many sequels that have changed gears in the direction of their franchises that have worked to that capacity that I know of. And again, maybe when we discuss, I'm old ears and I will listen, but I don't think it's gonna happen. That's just me though. James: Okay. jonathan: So the direction I would like to go for this episode, we're gonna James touched on it, we're gonna do the sequel draft towards the end. we'll obviously we're James: I can't wait. jonathan: gonna have stellar team drafts and everything. We've been doing that in the previous episodes, and it's been a lot of fun. And right now what we're gonna do though is I would like to go back and forth with you. We mentioned I would have the sequels that improved on the original. Not necessarily better, not saying all this film surpassed the original. Obviously we can mention some of those, but just continued the flow of the franchise very well. And then what we will do is we will have sequels that disappointed the franchise. James: Mm. jonathan: So I know there's a couple of things and there's different topics and stuff. We we have a lot to go over with this episode. So James, I'm gonna let you kick it off. I will be a gentleman. And yeah, I tried, James: gee, thanks. jonathan: what's I'm sure we're gonna have a bunch of different sequels that are similar on our list. What's a sequel that you could that you think continued their franchise? Good and we'll discuss. James: Yes. Yeah, so when we do a draft, obviously we're gonna be repeating some of the films we're doing during the discussion, but this is just for the discussion purpose. So if I'm picking a movie that did not surpass the original and just continued the franchise to make it better, the first one I can think jonathan: you are you you're not you're not you're not putting those in. You're just gonna I'm talking I'm talking about all sequels that that were good. Just give me hit hit the audience, hit the audience with the sequels that obviously we're gonna there's gonna be a few big boys that we're gonna we're gonna touch on. We don't have to go into detail, but we gotta for the for the audience, they're gonna be like, you didn't mention this. I don't wanna hear that. Let's let's James: so if we're if we're if we're going to talk about all right. I I just want to confirm, you're saying we're talking about sequels that improved or sequels that surpassed? Which one? Both? Alright. So if you I mean jonathan: Both. Both. We're hit we're hit we're hitting both. We're covering all angles on good sequels here. Let's get it out there. James: Right, if w if we're gonna talk about movies that had a second that surpassed, I mentioned aliens, you cannot have this conversation without Godfather two. Godfather two jonathan: Yep, I agree with the James: I think probably stands as the greatest sequel ever made. and by sequel jonathan: W James: aga by sequel again I mean direct second movie. It it's it's got a tie and I'll let you touch base on that one. But the Godfather Two took what everybody loved about the first movie and just continued it. It brought it to modern day. It expanded on the story a little bit. It gave you a fantasti So two was was a sequel and a prequel. So it's a little hard to talk about that and putting it in the in the sequel sense because it did go back to Michael Corley sorry, Vito Corleone's upbringing, jonathan: Mm-hmm. James: the whole thing with Italy and then coming to America and bouncing back and forth. But that kind of just solidified the story in that sense. but as a sequel, if you're if you're talking directly about the Michael story with him going to Cuba and Fredo and the guys, you know, in Vegas, it it's it stands up to one if if closely surpassing it. yeah. jonathan: Okay. I agree with that. I James: I w jonathan: like I said, there's really nothing that I could add to that 'cause it's it's arguably the greatest sequel of all time. I I'm gonna get this one out of the way as well. I'm gonna say Terminator two judgment day. We all know that that film Are you are you looking at me like you don't agree with me on this? James: No, I agree with you. I agree with you. But I'm I'm very hesitant to put T two over Godfather two. That that's what I'm saying. Yeah yeah. jonathan: No no, okay. I I you could you could you could I I listen, Godfather two, I it's up there as one of the best sequels of all time. It's one or two. T two, you could make the case that it's gonna be up there. The continuation from part one, you know, there was a switch, how now Arnold was the hero instead of the villain. James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: the story, Linda Hamilton being brought back, Arnold Schwarzenegger coming back. the introduction, Robert Patrick as the villain, Edward Furlong as the the the kid, the young John Connor, the story, the technology at the points, the action scenes, if not equal, surpassed the action in the first one. And James: I th I could comfortably say T two surpasses Terminator. Yeah. jonathan: Yes, I hands down think that. And again, quotes that, you know, we still come with me if you want to live. the I'll be back again. I'll be back was repeated. Asta La Vista baby. James: Yeah. jonathan: so you know, stands the test of time still as one of the if not greatest equals of all time as well. And I'll put it right there with the Godfather part two. James: I agree. And of course we talked about aliens. Aliens has to be in the conversation jonathan: Yeah. James: when we're talking about great sequels. I jonathan: Right. James: think I think those three yeah, are like hands down jonathan: They have to be. They have to be James: the top of the top of the crop. I have a couple of more in here, but I do want to save some for our debate. Our little our little draft. I don't want to keep just throwing sequel names out here. But the way I did it I actually categorized mine by genre. I have plenty of there's plenty of animated franchises that had sequels that are halfway decent. Comic books, obviously, you know, the comic book film industry it's Yeah, anime yeah. Yeah, animated. What the fuck? jonathan: Animated. Yeah, yes. Actually there's there there's a couple. There's a coup I as as I'm as I'm looking down I'm like, yeah, yeah. Alright, so for this James: But I I wanna I wanna give a shout out to one specific movie because the fact that this is very rare to me, and especially since we're living in like an age of movies where there's not a lot of great ideas, a sequel to come out almost thirty years f almost forty years from the original and have it even be a modicum of good. Top Gun Maverick was fantastic. jonathan: Bro, bro, bro, I have that on I have that on my list right here as good sequels. F phenomenal. James: Yeah. Considering right. Considering that movie was forty years its its predecessor and it still was a fantastic acted movie. The action sequences were sequences were on point. Tom Cruise was still phenomenal in it. that's r jonathan: So good. James: that to me is rare. That you could take a movie, wait forty years to come up with a sequel and have it be that good. I just wanted to give a a special shout out to that one. A lot of people are shitting on that movie because of its supporting case. People didn't jonathan: I who's chin on that? Stop! James: like Miles Teller in it. People didn't like jonathan: He looked exactly like Anthony Edwards. James: I agree. And people didn't like what's the other guy that's in it? The guy that's in everything now. Glenn Powell. Yeah. jonathan: Glenn Powell. bro, he's awesome in it. James: I agree. I think the entire movie was fantastic, but people jonathan: Well the James: shitting on it. I think people are shitting on it 'cause people shit on Tom Cruise. Yeah, I agree. jonathan: They to stop shitting on him and give that man his flowers. James: I agree. jonathan: Okay, so you said Top Gun, Maverick. I'm gonna give another I'm actually gonna give you another Tom Cruise movie. I know it's not number two, it's not the second one. James: here we go. jonathan: But no, you you have to you have to we talk about franchises. The Mission Impossible franchise James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: has been getting better as they have gotten later in years and my pit I didn't I'm not gonna say part seven six seven Mission Impossible Fallout is a phenomenal sequel to be whatever it is in the franchise the the sixth one or the f I think I believe it's the sixth one if I'm not mistaken with Henry Cavill that bro the scenes in that the action scenes the story again the it's You can you believe that what he's doing still at it's the sixty they got better. They got they James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: got so much better as it went on. So I we talk about Tom Cruise. If I'm gonna mention Top Gun Maverick, and I I think Top Gun Maverick is definitely better, I agree with you, than Mission Impossible Fallout. But I'm gonna give I'm gonna give him his roses there, yeah, franchise is thirty years still going and his sequels are s to me, surpassing the original. So I'm gonna give that pretty pretty honest question, pretty honest review on that. That to me is just I love that film. James: No, I agree. and since we are gonna dive into the other movies in the franchise, so how do you feel about franchises where you have so many subsequent films afterwards, but they're not good and then later on in the franchise, like you mentioned Mission Impossible and they start getting good. You know what I mean? jonathan: Well James: Like Mission Impossible two was mid. jonathan: Goofy. James: Mid at best. jonathan: But but the problem is is because of how good the rest of those films are, like when Mission Impossible Three came out, where Philip Seymour Hoffman's in it, James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: you will everyone was like, like, this is miles ahead of Mission Impossible Two. And then you don't think that it could get better, and it does. So it's it's tough because Make it Impossible too by itself if that was just it's just a it at the time it was like a two thousands action movie. we we James: Uh-huh. jonathan: got tons of them and it was just over the top action, but it's it's so hard and it's it's very rare again. We're we're listening like we're listening one of the rare exceptions that as the films and the franchises go on years down the line, they get better. There's not a lot and but Mission Impossible is one though. And I gotta give Tom Cruises I I'm gonna give him a round. Gotta give him a round of applause, bro. James: I agree. I agree. But then I'm gonna I'm gonna kinda pivot a little bit on this one. I think there's some films where the subs the subsequent film afterwards, the sequel, the number two, was actually just as good as one, but they should have stopped at two. jonathan: Okay. Where are we going with this? James: I'm just saying, like the way I was doing my list, like there's a lot of great sequels, like movies where the number two is good, but they kept Cash grabbing it and just kept snowballing. I'm gonna give an example. Shrek two. Shrek two should have been the end of the franchise. Obviously DreamWorks was never going to drop the ball. Yeah. Right, right. It is so good. But they should jonathan: I have I have Shrek 2 as one of the best sequels made. It's so good. It's so good. It's so good. James: not have just continued it. You know what I mean? They could have done something else, but they just kept cranking out Shreks. And then after a while we all got Shrek fatigue and the movies just sucked. They were terrible. jonathan: Yes, the third the third and fourth one compared to one and two. The problem is when you have such success with a fr with two with films that are being made. And James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: again, if I'm I don't know the exact numbers, but if those two films gross the combined eight hundred million dollars, they're James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: they're gonna take another shot for a third. They're gonna and it's James: Yeah. Yeah, it's a catch crab. jonathan: it's a thousand percent a crash grab. I can't fault a studio for doing that if the first two are so successful and they're making they're they're blowing out like the budgets that they're that cost the movie to make if it's like two hundred million dollars for both those movies and it's it's a six hundred million dollar profit they they're ahead they're way ahead so they can take a shot with the third and fourth and yes as the films go on in franchises as we just mentioned they're the value and the the story and everything, it's gonna go down. It's not as entertaining. It's not as captivating to the audience. So it's just it is unfortunate because it's like you said, it's a cash crab. There's movie franchises that have fucking 10 sequels. And I don't understand why, but James: Mm. jonathan: they they still make money and the quality of the films are bad, but people still want those They just also it comes down to there's no new original ideas anymore. So James: Ain't that the truth? jonathan: that's the problem. So they're like, well, this nothing's working. Let's all right, Shrek 5 20 years later. we no, come on, think of something else. Come on. Get give me some give me a new character that I could get invested in. James: Right. What else you got? jonathan: So I'm gonna have we discuss this. You I you in the one of the previous episodes of how it's one of my favorite films of all time and you gave me craft for it and said blah blah blah, how it's not The Dark Knight is one of the best sequels made. James: No, I agree. jonathan: And it to me James: What jonathan: beats out Batman Begins miles. James: No, I okay, yes. So I would put Dark Knight on that hill where the sequel surpasses the original. I would give it jonathan: You have James: I would I would agree with you on that. The thing I'm not agreeing with you with is saying that the Dark Knight is the greatest comic book movie ever made. Like like everybody needs to fucking relax. It's not, it's not, it's not. It's not. It's not. jonathan: Okay. It it is. It is. We're not we're not getting back into this because it's about sequels, James: Ha ha ha. jonathan: so we're not gonna do that again. But okay, that's for a different day, which we will get down the line. But as James: Anyway, but I do agree with you, so if if you had to have five movies that the sequel surpass the original, I think w everybody in existence would agree with the five. You have jonathan: What do we James: you have Terminator two, Aliens, Godfather Two, jonathan: Okay. Yes. Okay. James: Dark Knight jonathan: Mm hmm. James: And I would put the second Star Wars. Empire Empire Strikes. jonathan: Yes. I don't hate I don't James: Not not Episode Two. Empire Strikes Back. jonathan: I don't hate the Star Wars pick. Do I think it's definitely like Star Wars and Godfather part two, the problem is those films before it, you can make the argument that it's better than the f second. That's why I won't say they're clear. But they are I will say they are you could say they're the greatest sequels. of all time. I won't say that they're mu in stone better than their predecessor though. James: Yeah. jonathan: That's that's just me but like I I understand like when someone says I like Godfather two more than Godfather one. I I respect it. it's not like someone coming up to me and saying Back to the Future part three is better than the original. That I would never I would never allow that to be said in my presence. I'd fucking smack somebody. James: No, I agree with you. Listen, w there's there's a lot of twos that are not as good as ones, but just as good. and again we'll we'll get jonathan: I I I have I have another two. Direct two that's better than one. Spider-Man two. James: Toy Story. jonathan: Yeah, not yeah, I yeah. Hmm James: They mm mm. jonathan: no, no. I like Toy Story 2. Don't get me wrong, it's a good sequel. I will say Spider-Man 2 is ahead of Spider-Man 1. Toby McGuire, Spider-Man 2 is a better film than Spider-Man 1. So that's don't you f me don't you James: It's a it's a hot it's a hot take. I do agree with you. But I do feel I do feel jonathan: Heartache. Hot hot my ass. Yeah. James: what what? Anyway. It's a hot take. It's a hot take 'cause there jonathan: That's what do you mean it's a hot take? It's clear That's not. James: is Spider Man two is such a phenomenal film and I do agree with you, it's one of the better Spider Man films. jonathan: It's the best Finaman film! Don't go there. Don't do that. I love William Dafoe's Green Goblin. But the the movie is better than the James: Alright, I'll I I will concede to that one for now, 'cause I I get a brewing sense there's going to be a comic book episode coming up soon where we're just going to rip each other apart. I know. jonathan: I can't wait for that. But is there any other I mean we we will do a draft and everything discussing. James: bro, I got so many sequels here where the sequel is just as good. If maybe not a little bit better. I I got X Men two. jonathan: That's I do too. That is I James: X-Men 2 is fant is a fantastic movie compared to the original. Captain America Winter Soldier Far superior. jonathan: my goodness, we are James: I have stupid movies like American Pie 2. Was better than the original. Shut up Okay. jonathan: I I no no no. I I I agree with you. I laugh I laugh more James: And again, I I I jonathan: at the s I laugh more at the second one than the first James: Yeah. jonathan: one. James: Again, I I categorize mine. I have the second Austin Powers on here. jonathan: Yes. James: I have the second Avatar on here. jonathan: Get the fuck out of here! James: fuck you, Way of Water was good. Stop it. Stop it right now. Way of Water was a good movie. jonathan: It's not it's not even near the first one. James: I didn't say it was as good or better. It's a good sequel though. It is a good sequel. Okay. jonathan: It's not. It's n it's really not. It's my goodness. James: Yes, it is. jonathan: Please stop. James: We're not gonna talk about the third one. Third one was was bad. jonathan: Th listen. It's and it James: What was w what was wrong with it? jonathan: it's y I guess I'm comparing it to the first one. But that's b but James: You can't, you can't. The first one was groundbreaking. jonathan: I yes, and you you got it. You have to improve on that. You can't just no, no, they didn't. James: They did. Bro, the whole fucking thing was on fake water. If you're gonna talk about improving it visually, they did that. The story was a little mushard. jonathan: that's the thing. Like the story, like it's James: But the thing is, you can't just keep having humans come from Earth to the same planet to do the same shit. jonathan: I I I I get it, but I feel like and I understood that they were gonna make a sequel, that it was coming. Avatar was Avatar was a film you could have done one and done to me. Like the ending was I felt like they had they had a good ending and they could have James Cameron was like, That's it but I underst I knew that there was more coming because it was James: agree with y I agree with you, but the fact that he built this world, created these characters with their own language, their own religion, it made jonathan: I I get it. I I get it, but I'm James: a stupid amount of money. jonathan: I I get it and I understood it. I understood why it came out. And then when I watched it, I was like, this is it took away from me from the first one. It didn't like I was like I was like I d I didn't need this. I wasn't leaving Avatar. Like I need a sequel to this. Maybe that's what maybe I'm jaded. I didn't. I didn't. I was content. James: I did. I a hundred percent did. I a hundred percent ended that movie with his eye opening going, I can't wait to see what they do with the second one. jonathan: I don't know. You could have left you could have left it alone. You could have left it alone. You could've le James: That's your that's that's your rebuttal? That's your rebuttal jonathan: But like I I understood why people wanted a second one, but it's just it was such a great movie that could have just been one and done. That James: I have a sleep I have a sleeper sequel that I don't think a lot of people talk about. jonathan: Okay. James: Ted two. jonathan: I don't hate it. I it's funny. It's fun. It's funny but James: Bro, Ted Two was just as funny as the first one. It was just as funny as the first one. Replacing Mia Kunis with Amanda Safried didn't even skip a fucking beat. Ted two is just as funny as the first one. jonathan: All right. James: Now hot take. Hot take. I think Hangover two is just as funny as Hangover One. I know I've I've said this before and people are like, you're out of your fucking mind. Hangover one jonathan: It's James: is a classic now, it's considered a classic. Yeah, jonathan: It's it's very tough to live up to that first one. James: but number two has some of some of the most craziest outlandish shit that had me rolling. Rolling for a sequel jonathan: I don't I James: to have me laughing that hard is h jonathan: I James: is hard, you know what I mean? jonathan: I get it. I I I do. I don't I don't think it's too much of a hot take 'cause it's a very solid sequel. James: The whole lady boy scene crying jonathan: Yes. James: crying laughing. jonathan: Okay. I have another one directly to the first. I have Kill Bill Volume Two. James: I disagree with you a thousand percent. I think Kill jonathan: What's wrong with killbill volume two? James: Bill Volume 2 was Quentin Tarantino blowing his load saying that anybody will go see my movies if my name is on it. And that's exactly what it was. Kill Bill jonathan: Get? my god, kill Bill Volume. James: did not need to be two parts. That could have been one fucking movie. Quentin Tarantino was strapped for fucking cash, so he made two goddamn films. Fuck jonathan: Wow. Wow. James: the Kill Bill movies. I have no problem saying that. It it it's bigger than jonathan: That's that's silly. That's James: No it no jonathan: so silly. James: it's not. I would if you want if you rank Quentin Tarantino films, both jonathan: Yeah. James: of those are very close to the fucking bottom. Very close. Number two might actually jonathan: Okay. What James: be the worst. jonathan: Of all his films, get out of here. Get cut your James: I prefer Jackie Brown over Kill Bill Volume two. jonathan: mic. Cut your fucking mic off and end this episode right now. Jackie Brown. That movie's hot that movie's James: Absolutely not. Jackie Brown. jonathan: hot dog shit. James: Jackie Brown was groundbreaking for his time. What are you talking about? I'd rather watch jonathan: my god. James: Deathproof than Kill Bill, volume two. jonathan: That's now I know I know you're just trying to get a fucking that's absurd. James: All that reaction out of you? jonathan: Yeah, bro, that's why? What's what do you have against Kill Bill Volume Two? The action scenes it's James: It's stupid. There's no point. Again, you could have c you could have combined both of those into one fucking movie. I didn't need to waste six hours of my fucking life watching Uma Thurman do whatever the fuck she did in that movie. Come on, give me a break. jonathan: No, no. Kill Bill Volume Two is better than Hateful Eight. It's better than Death Proof. James: Absolutely not. jonathan: Hateful a hateful it can kick rocks. James: Absolutely not. Have a has a fantastic fucking story. And if you don't get it, that's on you. jonathan: I do get it. And the fucking people under the foot stop, stop, don't okay. Fucking killbill volume two. The fucking story was good. The fucking the coffin the coffin scene was all amazing. The training the trainings that was dumb and when and when James: Absolutely not. Absolutely not. If you have that if if you had the the coffin scene. Give me a fucking break. Bruce Lee wannabe. That's all that was. jonathan: when he when she fights the the the the the other female in the film, I forgot her name. That one on one fight scene, that's one of the best fight scenes in the film. That that's your rebuttal? A fucking fart James: Garbage. jonathan: noise? Okay. That's your rebuttal. A fart noise. Yeah. Fucking groundbreaking fucking rebuttal right there. fucking James: Okay. At least I don't sound like an old Jewish guy ordering a bagel. Me me jonathan: Bagul? Yeah, I forgot about that. James: Ha ha jonathan: You fuck. Okay. Do you have any others that you wanna continue? James: I have plenty of sequels on here. I I'm not doing any discernible aura. I haven't touched the jonathan: All right. James: horror movies. Horror movies are a hot take. jonathan: you gotta put a couple. James: we're we're gonna agree with Halloween 2. We're gonna agree with that. And Friday the thirteenth, Friday the 13th, part two. I'm talking twos! I'm talking two! Fuck four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Get the fuck out of here. But I genuinely think I genuinely Only twos, bitch. jonathan: And and there's another one in that franchise. Mmm, there's one in that franchise. I know, I forgot you only fucking do twos. Okay, okay. Suck that suck suck salt, bro. Suck salt. Only twos, only twos, okay. James: I genuinely stop, we gotta be professional. I genuinely jonathan: Yeah, okay. James: think parallel activity two surpassed jonathan: What what was that? Paranormal activity? James: paranormal activity two surpassed the original. jonathan: I disagree, but that's just my preference. But I underst James: You disagree. jonathan: I I like Paranormal Activity 2. I'm not I'm not saying it's a bad sequel. I just prefer I like the original better. Because technically technically Paranormal Activity 2 takes place before the first one. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm I'm not, I'm not, I'm not. I James: so what are you saying? It's a s it's a prequel? okay. Actually they take a they take place around the same time. jonathan: I I know, but it's a little be it's a little before, but but I d I I James: Mm, okay. jonathan: I'm not I'm not gonna shit on that. I I like the paranormal. We talked about that franchise and all the sequels actually do a very good job to stay steady with the franchise pretty much. So I I don't hate that. I just prefer the first one, but you know, I I I respect the second one. I'm not gonna say it's a fucking terrible take. I don't hate it. James: Okay, we need to we need to dispel from this part because we're just throwing our draft picks out there. So jonathan: Okay, so James: let's let's let's pivot a little bit. jonathan: How about we go with sequels that disappointed the franchise right now? James: have a number one and jonathan: Wow. James: if you and if you argue with me I'll cut the feed off right here. jonathan: Wow, okay, so I have to agree with this fucking statement. It's the James: Yes, and if you if you say jonathan: it's the definitive worst sequel of all time. James: A thousand percent. And I'm not even jonathan: Okay. James: talking about speed two. jonathan: Where are you going? Don't James: Joker two. jonathan: I I don't hate that pick. I don't. James: is hands down, the worst sequel ever made. jonathan: I don't hate it. I it's it's definitely up there. It's a thousand I don't know. James: Todd Phillips said I made this fantastic fucking movie, watch this shit. And we all bought it. We all went to the movies, we all bought a fucking ticket. That movie made a stupid amount of fucking money and we all walked out of it like this. What the fuck did I just watch? Horrible. jonathan: I don't yeah. I don't know what he was I don't know what he was going for. I don't understand the the direction of it. I don't understand why you're taking this this iconic this iconic villain, James: He killed it. He killed that franchise. jonathan: this iconic villain, and you're just I don't get it. I Harley Quinn in the film was I what the fuck was the I I James: Todd Phillips could have turned the Joker into its own Dark Knight trilogy and he fucked it up. And I can't I'm jonathan: I I agree with that. Yeah. James: so mad at that movie because I loved Joaquin Phoenix as a Joker. I never want to see him in that makeup again. jonathan: No, there they're never there's there's no there's no James: But that's what I'm saying though. he did that himself. It's not like it went to a different director, they didn't change studios. That was all him. He said, I had this masterpiece that won an Academy Award. jonathan: Yeah. James: Garbage jonathan: Pete. James: Puckin' trash Thinking jonathan: All right. James: about that movie still makes me fucking mad. jonathan: Yeah, that's that's a good one. I it's definitely up there. I it's okay, it's it's up there. James: No, it it's the there. jonathan: It's definitely up there. you can also make the case for other sequels as the worst of all time. I'm gonna say James: Listen, th there's a there's a f there's a fine line between a sequel that we were looking for that didn't deliver and movies that they made sequels and we're like, why? this didn't need a sequel. You know what I'm saying? jonathan: That's that's a s that's the next topic I wanna talk I wanna touch James: Okay. All right. jonathan: on, but I'm gonna give a terrible sequel to a franchise. Well again we'll do we'll do the draft and everything. if you for the best sequels and everything. I would like to have a discussion with you after we touch on the worst sequels of all time. That James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: we're we're gonna have a we're gonna have our five worst sequels ever made. I wanna touch on that. James: Yeah, no mine. jonathan: But yes, but there's four other spots. That you have to fucking fill. You can't just go, it's one. That's it. No, one, two, three, four, five is choke or two, choker two. Yeah, James: J O K E R jonathan: there you go. That's that there you go. That's a good one. I'm gonna say one that has to be mentioned. you touched on speed two, I won't even put that up there yet. Jurassic World Dominion was an ab. James: Okay. jonathan: was an abomination to that no falling James: Is that the second one? Yes. Fallen Kingd no, Dominion was the third one. jonathan: the dominion was the one where they brought everyone in that is that is one of James: yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Mm. I think jonathan: the was that is one of the worst sequels I ever sat through. I the di the dinosaurs are now living in the world with them just James: Which was a great idea. jonathan: and they Fucking fumbled that so James: Yeah. jonathan: bad. The characters did not play off each other well at all. You had Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, San San Neal is if I'm not mistaken. James: Sam Neil. Yep. jonathan: Too much. And they did not play off each other. Look, yes. Just it was it was a mess. It was a the James: Lord Dern Bryce Dallas Howard. They so the original trilogy Yeah. jonathan: original trilogy met the new trilogy. And they thought it was gonna be a cool concept. James: What was what was the whole thing with the bugs? I don't even remember that fucking movie that much. jonathan: I don't bro, I don't I don't understand. After Fallen Kingdom. Fallen Kingdom was James: Fallen Kingdom was bad. jonathan: Fallen Kingdom was very bad. But when they James: Yeah. jonathan: they tried to redeem and it's bro, it's James: They said hold my beer. jonathan: here, hold this. Watch like watch how we can continue to destroy this great franchise we had. And it's just this again stop forcing it down people's throats and trying to make it something that it just was so sloppy, so poorly done, and I really am I was so disappointed when I watched that because when I saw in the trailer how they were all coming in, I was like, all right, this could possibly be a great story, a great redemption of the franchise to bring it back. And they f fucked it up. Still bad. James: How do feel about rebirth? jonathan: I listen, it's better to me than Fallen Kingdom and Dominion. I didn't hate it, but the the genetic mutation and stuff of how now I'm I'm over it. You you I'm over James: It's it's I'm so over that. enough with the genetically modified dinosaurs. jonathan: it. Leave the the it's done. It's done. The franchise is done. It's dead. Let it die. James: My thing is dinosaurs are scary enough. Why do we keep making genetically modified versions of them? jonathan: I don't yeah, I don't know. I don't know cause they gotta be scarier. No one's no one wants that. No one has ever said, hey, James: Exactly. jonathan: hey, I want a fucking Spinosaurus. I want a T Rex that can camouflage. I don't think anyone James: Right. jonathan: wants that. James: Well Spinosaurus is a real dinosaur, but the other ones aren't real. jonathan: But but what I'm saying yes, in the J I'm sorry, in Jurassic World, I liked Jurassic World the first one. But when they were like, Sheiki Cap this this dinosaur can camouflage. Why? Why do why James: Yeah, yeah, yeah. jonathan: are we doing that? James: It's part raptor and then the raptors all turn. That was so stu I'll be honest. jonathan: Yeah. I'm watching it, I'm like, no paying no paying customer in that park said, Hey, I I want a camouflage dinosaur that is gonna No. I didn't need that. James: Right. I wanna pay money to not see the fucking dinosaur 'cause it's camouflage in his background. Dumb. Okay. I have another jonathan: Yeah. So that's yeah, I so James: I have another sequel that disappointed. The second Super Mario movie. jonathan: Get out of here, you don't mean that. James: No, I didn't like I I think they they were trying to do too much and it took away the charm from the first one. Listen, was it good? It was it was enjoyable, but it was nowhere near the original. But like I would jonathan: So y but you can't put you're gonna put that in one of the worst sequels made of all time? James: No, not living up to the hype. jonathan: Okay. yeah, I I get it. I I I liked it 'cause I'm like the Easter eggs and stuff about other games and I I love that shit in movies. I I was like like James: so do I. But again I think I think in the second one they were trying to put too much in it. They threw every character that they physically could in there. jonathan: Listen, I loved I loved when Star Fox came on screen. I fucking lost my shit. James: I think they should have kept that a surprise. I don't know why they put that in the trailer. That was so stupid. jonathan: I I I agree with that. It would have been a better surprise, but James: Yeah. jonathan: I I agree with that part. So we just touched on some sequels that disappointed with the franchise that were bad. We'll we'll get to the next topic in a little bit when we do the first five sequels ever made, we'll touch on James: Mm. jonathan: those. what were some sequels that you feel were not necessary for the franchise? What's a what's a a franchise that should have been one and done? James: One and done. jonathan: That would not that yeah, that they made a sequel and you were like, N I this wasn't needed. James: Blair Witch Project first comes to mind. That should have been a That jonathan: Yeah. James: should have been a one and done. There's no reason to have subsequent films after that. That should have been a one done found footage film and it. there's a lot of horror movies that shouldn't have had subsequent sequels. Sinister is another one. jonathan: Yes. James: Sinister should have just been one and done. But I will give Sinister credit for this thing. They could have had sequels if they made it good. jonathan: Mm-hmm. James: The sec the second movie was just trash. So that that's just a movie that flopped. Th there's a couple of animated series out there that really didn't need a sequel. Incredibles is one of Like there was no need to have a sequel to that. It could have been a one and done. It that was a cash grab. jonathan: Incr Incredibles Incredibles was a was a good. It wasn't as James: The first one jonathan: good. It wasn't as good as the first one, but they they waited a while for the second one. They did. James: Yeah. jonathan: So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna agree with that. I understood James: Okay. jonathan: why. I have for one of my picks for that, I'm gonna say Greece too. Did anybody did James: yeah, that was garbage. jonathan: did but did anyone leaving Greece James: X for that? jonathan: Did anyone in gr from Greece when you left watching Greece once say, damn, I need a sequel to this? Who who who the fuck wants that? And you had only James: No, I agree. jonathan: you had what two characters come back from the first? And I think I Yeah, Michelle Fife is in it. James: I I'm gonna be honest, I've seen it once, maybe fifteen fifteen years ago. jonathan: Michelle Fife is in it, and it's it's terrible. It's god awful. So To me, that's something that was also not necessary for a franchise. I have James: thinking just stupid sequels that came out. The the Flintstones movie, the second one. There there was no but yeah, there was no need for the The Fer the first one was funny. For what it for what it was. jonathan: Yeah, no one asked for that. The Flintst the Flintstones the Flintstones one's a fun movie. It's a funny movie. And there's some names. There are some names in that movie. James: yeah, John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Halle Berry's in it. the butt about the butt Rosel Donald, jonathan: As much as I hate her, Rosalie O'Donnell. James: yeah. no, that was a good movie. jonathan: I'm gonna say a film franchise that should not have had sequels and all the sequels I feel were not necessary and definitely not near the original. You could have won and done Jaws James: Yeah. No, no, I agree. jonathan: I d I don't think I don't think after they fucking killed the shark, how do you how do you come up with the fucking I James: It's been a long time since I've seen Jars Two. I forgot how the shark ends up there again. jonathan: Jaws Jaws two is not then then you had the third one. You had the third one in a fucking James: The revenge and three D jonathan: aca in an aquarium and the James: Yeah. jonathan: fourth one where the shark knows that's the that's the sheriff's wife. James: Yeah. we we talked about it in the franchise episode, but it was it's bad. I do agree with you. Jaws didn't need a sequel. You w you know what jonathan: That's that's that's bad. That's that's that's that's that's you didn't need it. James: else didn't need a sequel? Twister. Twister didn't need a sequel. Independence Day didn't need a sequel. There's this jonathan: Yeah. Yeah, I agree with that. god, no it did not. James: there's so yeah, there's so many of that just did not need a sequel. Like I wasn't holding my breath waiting for Independence Day two to come out. You know what I mean? jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Leave it alone. Less is more. Now James: Yeah. jonathan: this is gonna I'm gonna pivot. What's James: Tá? jonathan: movies what's the movies that you wanted a sequel to come out that never did? James: There's a lot. I mean yeah, I jonathan: All right. All right. James: mean there's a lot, but this that's a kind of a loaded question because like movies that I want to see continuations of, not everybody else might have. jonathan: Yeah, that g listen, that's fun. James: I'll give you one Inception. I think that I think they jonathan: I don't hate that. James: could have done so much with that world, but Christopher Nolan, besides the Dark Knight trilogy because he was contracted contracted, he doesn't like doing sequels. I get jonathan: He's yes. Yes. James: that. But Inception could have been amazing jonathan: Okay. James: if they found out he's trapped in the dream world. You could create a whole other crew to go get him. You know what I mean? yeah. jonathan: Go get him. I don't hate it. I don't hate that. James: So that's one jonathan: I'm gonna give you one. did you James: Go for it. jonathan: ever see District Nine? James: Yes, I did. jonathan: I would have loved a sequel to that. I would have James: I agree. jonathan: loved to find out what the fuck happens to him after he changes and everything, James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: and then I wanted to see them try and fix him to come back to James: Can we talk about District Nine a little bit? That was that was an odd fucking movie, man. jonathan: It was odd and it was a c a different take on alien films that we ever saw at that point. they were living in fucking camps. Yes. That is James: Hmm. That was that was a Peter Jackson film, right? I think. jonathan: that's a film that I believe he directed it or he was definitely on production James: Yeah. jonathan: with them. James: Starring yeah, Peter Jackson produced. jonathan: Yes. So I feel that that had potential. You could have maybe got w one, if not two. You could have got a trilogy out of that if you did it right. So James: Mm. I agree. I agree. World War Z is another one that I wanted to see a subsequent film from. jonathan: okay. James: I wanna see more of that. I think Brad Pitt really really killed it in that film. there was a whole lot more story to tell with that. You could you jonathan: Yeah. James: could have told the story of those zombies from a different perspective. It didn't have to be Brad Pitt. You could have did it from another part of the world, you know what mean? just because the way jonathan: Yeah. It okay, I I I see where you're James: the zombies were were good. jonathan: fuck that, man. I'm dead. I'm dead. James: Yeah. yeah. Well yeah, World War Z zombies, I'm done. nine of the living dead zombies, I'll live walking dead zombies, I'll be around for a little bit. World War Z and I Am Legend, those zombies. Not I am legend, I'm sorry. Those those aren't zombies, those are like fucking mutants. jonathan: Well, no I am Legend I could f I just s night night speaking of I am Legend, I know it's coming out. I Am Legend is a sequel that I want. James: So are they going off the original ending or the ending jonathan: Nope. James: that came out in the D V D? jonathan: The ending that came out on the DVD, which is much which is which they should have James: movies have to stop doing that. They got they gotta stop ignoring it. jonathan: they but like what why would you pivot from that original ending? Like the original ending that not the original the DVD ending. Why why is it he sees the butterfly and then no no James: Exactly. No, that's what I'm saying. why are movies saying, Hey, we had an original ending, we're gonna go with that for like the subsequent films. Like, that's not what we all saw. If you don't own the fucking end the D V D to I Am Legend, you have no idea what we're talking about. And you saw I am legend jonathan: Yeah, you have to watch. James: in the exactly. It's it's stupid, it's pointless. I'm gonna be honest, my days of watching Will Smith movies are over. I'm not looking f I'm not looking forward to that. Bad boys, the new Bad Boys was not great. jonathan: no, that that's that's different because you're s you're trying to play a character you were when you're 30 years old and Bad Boys 2 is James: Yeah. Another Bad Boys Two is good. That's a good sequel. jonathan: great. there's one or two more just quick that I want to touch on that movies that should have had a sequel. I'm gonna say another time I'm listening I got I mentioned Tom Cruise three times this fucking episode. Edge of Tomorrow James: Yes. jonathan: definitely could have gotten a sequel. That movie is fucking fun. James: Absolutely. Slept on. That movie slept on. Yeah. jonathan: It is and it's and it's fun. It's a fun action movie for fans. So I wouldn't have hated a Edge of Tomorrow 2. And I would say True Lives 2. James: I agree. they've talked about making a true lies too, but well jonathan: Way too long now. Way too late now. Don't do it. James: yeah. but James Cameron said he doesn't want to do it. He flat out said he doesn't want to do it, just let it be. jonathan: I get it. But you definitely could have, if done right, bring that cast back. that would have been much that would have been a lot of fun. No, I'm saying but no what I'm saying no, what I'm saying is James: They're all old. I don't wanna see them now. Bring a new case. Start start anew. Not a reboot. jonathan: what I'm saying is it came out in the mid nineties. If you would have done it by the early two thousands, had James: Yeah. jonathan: that done, it it would have been great. But now, yeah, I d I don't want to fucking see Schwarzenegger. James: Yeah, I don't wanna see it now. jonathan: Okay. So we James: I I will I will say a movie I recently saw, you probably haven't seen it yet. It's a stupid movie but enjoyable and I would love to see a sequel, jonathan: Mm-hmm. James: Street Fighter. I know you probably haven't seen it yet. jonathan: I haven't seen it, I've watched so I can't shit on it. James: It it's not a great movie, but it's one of those movies where you just go, you eat your popcorn, you shut your brain off, you laugh, you enjoy the fight sequences, and you just go home. And I would jonathan: Yeah. James: like to see more of it. jonathan: Would you like to see a Step Brothers part two? All right. All right. I had that on my list, but I I was like, it it would have been too much. James: No. No. I I think they cap I'm gonna tell you I'm gonna tell you why. Cause Step Brothers was the first time Will Farrell and John C. Riley would take a team like that in the film and they were great. And I was like, I think they're fantastic together. Pivot now to Talladega Knights and I never wanna see them on screen together ever again. They were no, they were obnoxious jonathan: they're funny in that. They're funny in that. James: in that movie. I was like, Alright, I'm done. jonathan: I'm I'm a little confused by your tactics. All right. James: Teabag your fucking drum set. Yeah. jonathan: It's so good. It's so stupid. It's so good. All right. James: Each shit, Derek. jonathan: So we have touched on a lot of films so far. We lot we kept a lot still too close to the chest 'cause we're gonna do the draft in a little bit. But before we get to the draft of our f favorite sequels. Okay. I'll go I'll go fuck myself. Okay. Okay. James: Pause. Pause. Pause. Pause. Pause. Pause. we didn't talk we didn't yeah, you go fuck yourself. We didn't talk about these movies. It needs to be taught. We were talking about subsequent films that were just bad. Can we talk about the Terminator franchise for a second? jonathan: does it really have to do we have to waste the audience's time? Do we they don't they don't know it's bad? If they don't James: Yeah, ca because Because we hyped up Terminator two and w it jonathan: Okay. James: sounds like we're in love with this franchise and we're putting it on like an echelon 'cause jonathan: I d I James: we're like one was good, two was even better. That's where it ends. No. That's where it ends. Because jonathan: I did did I talk did I say yeah, did I say anything about the fucking Fran Rise of the Machines was cool 'cause it was years later. After that James: Yeah. jonathan: after that it's fucking awful. James: Yeah, because I was just thinking about this the the the franchise as a whole, 'cause I was thinking about what if we did a Terminator episode, but it's just going to be us praising one and two and shitting on everything else. I think Terminator Dark Fate was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. jonathan: Hmm, that there's there's one in the franchise wars. Yes. Genesis is James: The one right before that. Yeah, yeah, I I agree, but the beginning of Dark Fate, again, it took the other movies and just said that never happened. We're gonna kill John jonathan: Yeah. James: Connor off and make it all about women. Cool. Cool. Cool. Good job. Fucking stupid. Sorry, I had to go on my sub box on jonathan: Yeah. No, no, didn't need it. Okay. So now I I James: that one. jonathan: I I have it w it's leading into the next segment, which again, we're gonna do the worst five sequels we feel are ever made, and then we're gonna do before we draft, we'll give our top five sequels, we'll see if we have anything similar before we do a draft. So give me start Give me a couple of of your worst sequels of all time. If you had to narrow it down to five, give me one at least. James: you y my number one. Joker two. Worst sequel ever put on fucking film. jonathan: Joke Chocot Choca Two is on my list as well as one of the James: Are we doing a draft almost? a back and forth, no doubles? Alright. jonathan: No, we'll do no no no. We're just gonna this is just a discussion. I have Joker as well. So that's James: God. jonathan: we both have it on there. It's no there's no discussion. James: I don't wanna talk about these movies, man. I I I'm gonna need a drink. this is bad. jonathan: We're just gonna we're just gonna hit we we're just gonna hit it. We gotta tell the audience, we gotta tell our audience what the worst sequels of all time. So you know what? They don't have to sub they don't gotta subject to this. I don't want them to. So you said one. I'm gonna say James: I guarantee you there's somebody in this sister's basement right now going, mmm, you know, Joker 2, you don't just don't understand the plan. It's about the dichotomy of mental illness. Shut the fuck up. jonathan: Okay. So bad. It's so bad. James: It's it's no. Fuck you. Fuck you. jonathan: So one of my worst equals of all time, you mentioned Joker two. We both had it, so now there's spot left. I gotta get speed two out of the way. James: Yes. jonathan: it's a fucking complete miss from the first one. she's randomly now Sandra Bullock is this fucking hero on a boat trying to s James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: save this cruise ship. Just just James: Fucking cruise ship. jonathan: what the fuck? W no one what no one needed this. If you James: No. jonathan: would have done Speed 2 and it'd be following Keanu Reeves character as like he's James: Mm. jonathan: the cop and he's got a now Okay, maybe, but it probably would have still sucked. I'm not gonna shit on just Sandra Bullock for trying this. So Ki Keanu Reeves wouldn't have been able to save it either. So this is just just a bad concept and a bad tried a catch crab from a good James: I agree. jonathan: a good action movie that didn't need didn't need it. James: I agree. I have another number two, that shouldn't have been made. We talked about it a little bit, Blair Witch Two. There was no need for it. Was t was terrible. It's awful. It's awful. jonathan: Play Witch 2. Yep, that's him. That's up there. So we have three for three. We're both three for three. Now, this is where we might differ a little. James: we're a hundred percent. jonathan: I am gonna say this is a random, random. Actually, you know what? It's not gonna be random. I'm gonna say this. It's not number two. It's not a number two. But it must be said. And I'm sorry to say this. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Can fucking kick rocks. It is hot, hot, hot, James: Yeah. It's bad. It's bad. jonathan: hot, melted in the fucking garbage can dog shit of a film. James: I agree, it's bad. It's bad. jonathan: It's it's brutal. And I will never forgive them for that fucking scene. James: Yeah. jonathan: That fucking scene that he survived an atomic bomb in a refrigerator. James: you don't think that can happen? jonathan: I will never forgive them for that. It James: Yeah. jonathan: is and Charles Boeff was awful in that film. And I and he's I I'm not gonna go that James: Shot the buff's awful in anything he's in. I said it. jonathan: far. All right, all right. And that to me is it has to be mentioned as one of the worst five worst sequels of all time to me. James: Okay, I'm n I'm not mad at it, but I agree. It's it's terrible. We're go we're doing all time or b or per or our personal hates. jonathan: Yeah, d whatever whatever you want. Dazzle Dazzle James: Gee thanks. jonathan: Dazzle the audience, James. Tell us what you James: I go fuck yourself. jonathan: wow. Okay. James: if I if if we're if we're not doing the the direct sequels, I thought Alien Resurrection was an atrocious fucking movie. That's jonathan: Oof oof. James: a rough bad boy to get through. jonathan: Is that that's the one if I'm not mistaken with Ronorada? And James: Yes, yes, with the alien humid hybrid fucking thing. And they s yeah. And they no, no. That wa that was jonathan: Yeah. I I don't hate that. Okay. Okay. James: a really shitty way to end a very iconic character's arc. And I don't want them to bring Ripley back in anything, just let it end there. jonathan: So that's four now each, right? That was our fourth, if I'm James: Yeah. jonathan: not mistaken. So we both had Joker. We both had Speed 2. We both had Blair Witch. We pivoted on that. I don't, I don't hate, I don't hate the Alien Resurrection pick. My last sequel that is the worst of all time, just because of my absolute hatred for the For the franchise that no one has to this, Space Jam two can fuck off. James: Okay. That's a solid pick. jonathan: Space space sham two no one fucking asked for. No not I yeah, they they they can kick rocks. James: Yes they did. who asked for it. No, they did. There there is a very large contention of very uneducated people out there that believe jonathan: I I James: that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan, and I don't fucking get it. jonathan: I what whatever the film overall is so bad. It's cheap. James: It's cheap. It's a cheap film. jonathan: It's cheap. It's a cheap c try and copy of it's not funny at all. The first Space Jam was actually like enjoyable. it was funny. You had you had James: Yeah, it's cheesy nineties. jonathan: Exactly. You had all that stuff and then the the Michael B. Jordan plug. I like James: Ha. jonathan: so dumb. So Space Jam two you could kick rocks and never be seen again by anybody. James: Yeah, I agree. And in the same breath as that, you can chuck Coming to America 2 in there too. jonathan: Wow. James: That was awful. Awful. jonathan: That's that's a that's that's tough I Alright. Alright, alright, alright. I'm not James: Coming to America too is awful, bro. It was terrible. jonathan: I'm not gonna shit on that too bad. That's it's James: Hey while you're at it, throw Iron Man three in there. You can chuck that in the fucking shithole. Thor Dark World. I'm jonathan: Nah. James: not gonna get into the MCU when it comes to bad sequels. Th there's a jonathan: All right. All right. James: lot of jonathan: All right. I get it. You're right. You're right. I don't hate it. I don't hate the picks. I think James: Ha ha ha. jonathan: all right. So now we both discussed our worst of all time. Let's knock these out of the way before our draft with the top five sequels of all time. I think we're gonna have the same three of the same. We have to put James: Yeah. jonathan: it we mentioned it earlier, T two, Godfather two, and aliens. There's James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: no debate. There's no need for us to go into this again. They are arguably better than their predecessor and they all they have to be mentioned on everyone's list. Yes. Now, what's your James: You put Dark Knight in there because again, we're gonna agree with that. I'm gonna be on yeah, I'm gonna be honest. jonathan: what's your fifth best sequel of all time? James: Z I told you mine, it's gonna be Empire Strikes Back. It's up there. It's up there. jonathan: I don't hate it. I don't hate it. James: I mean, if I have three that are just as jonathan: I don't. James: good, if not better, than the original. It's Godfa jonathan: Don't hate that perk. James: I'm sorry, it's Empire Strikes Back, Toy Story jonathan: Okay. James: Two, and Back to the Future Two. We haven't even mentioned Bat to the Future two yet. jonathan: I won't put the second one near the first. I won't. It's good. I like it a lot, but it's not it's not near the first one. To me to me, to me. I I enjoy it. James: Okay. And then you gotta you gotta chuck Spider Man two on there. Yeah. jonathan: Yeah, have to put Spider Man two on there. my last spot is I would say a different Toy Story. I would put Toy Story Three. James: Okay. jonathan: I I like that. I also meant you mentioned Empire, that definitely could be up James: Uh-huh. jonathan: there. Spider Man two. I also like Rocky too. James: I agree. Rocky two. I think Rocky Two is a superior film than Rocky. but that's just my opinion because I like a happier ending. But that's just me. I'm a sucker for jonathan: Yeah. James: that. jonathan: so if on my final spot I would have to probably put it between Toy Story Three James: We are completely forgetting about the Lord of the Rings franchise. Return of the King is a fantastic sequel. Again, it's a third. jonathan: I but but it's it's it is, but it's it's not a it's not a it's not a top five for me though. It's it's just not I'm I love James: Yeah. jonathan: those films. I I I don't get into them the way other people do, but it I will say the Lord of the Rings, they are good films though. I'm not gonna say like I can't stand them. I James: Yeah, I agree. jonathan: I don't I don't get into that fucking world of shit though. I I just don't. James: I pl I played your game where it's like you did other movies besides the two, so I have a completely separate list for that. That's jonathan: Okay. James: me. I have movies that are not direct sequels that are superior than the originals. You have Logan. jonathan: Okay. James: Avengers, both endgame and Infinity War are better than jonathan: Ha ha ha. James: the originals. They are. They are. Avengers, yes. Yes. jonathan: Better than better than the original Avengers. Yeah, yes. Okay. James: both Spider Man No Way Home and Brand New Day are better than Homecoming. jonathan: Yes, okay. That's fair. James: Superman two is superior than Superman. Yeah, but we're not jonathan: p fucking right it is. That fucking right it is. James: gonna talk about Superman three. Superman three is just mm mm. Mm mm. But I think jonathan: Ha ha ha. James: I think I think Mad Max Fury Road is better than the original. jonathan: yeah, I have that in here too. James: Yeah. so again, Return of the King, yeah. So th there's a lot out there. I see why you wanna add threes, but again, like twos, there's a decent solid list of twos that can make jonathan: Okay. James: up your your draft. jonathan: Okay, so you tell me I'm gonna give you the first James: First pick? jonathan: pick in the draft. We are drafting James: Godfather too. jonathan: c wow, those I even finished the intro. Okay. Fuck me. Godfather too. James: I'm sorry, I didn't I didn't know you had an old intro to this. Please. no, please, please, I wanna hear it. No, no, no, no, no. jonathan: No. That's right. It's it's it's we're we're it's we're gonna draft, we're gonna do ten sequels each, and we are gonna see how this matchup goes. He's James is gonna be very I don't know if you're sticking with just twos. I'm not I I'm James: A fucking y hell right I am. That's a sequel. jonathan: go go go right ahead. I'm not sticking with twos 'cause there are threes that are better than twos and that are better than one so We're gonna mention the greatest sequels of all time. We're gonna do this right. We're gonna do this amazing and perfect, okay? So you can suck salt with your first pick. Nah, it's Godfather too. Godfather two. Godfather too. James: I'm so I'm sor I'm sorry. You're you're gonna dr you're gonna draw out the third, fourth, fifth, sixth movie to make yours perfect. jonathan: that you just did. It perfect? James: Perfect. jonathan: Okay, so you took Godfather to there's listen, it's gonna be one A, one B. I'm taking James: A hundred percent. Go ahead. jonathan: t I'm taking Terminator two judgment day. James: That's a solid pick. Do me a favor. Lift your neck up 'cause I'm about to hit you in the jugular. Halloween two. jonathan: I'm very surprised that you took that. James: Nope, Halloween two is the perfect horror sequel ever made. And it a hundred jonathan: I'm not mad at the pick. I'm not. James: percent deserves to be high on the list. jonathan: I'm not mad at the pick. I'm just surprised you skipped one. James: I needed to take yours. Sorry. jonathan: Wow, so you you just deliberately like, no, fuck you. You're not getting this film. So you're gonna leave this one on the table for me. James: Nope. Bro, I bro, you took the entire Halloween cast for your horror icon. For your horror jonathan: That's right. That's right. I think I listened. James: icon. jonathan: The e the evil is gone from here That's right. James: I just watched Halloween 2 again. It's phenomenal. He he is so much Y he's so jonathan: It's so good. It's so c it's so good. And you pick up right where the fucking film ends. I love it. James: much more sadistic in that movie. he's vindictive jonathan: Yeah. James: in that one. it's so good. jonathan: Alright. So Halloween two I like the pick a lot and it's it's all it's the greatest horror movie sequel of all time to me. And this is James: Yep. Yep. jonathan: now not a horror movie anymore because they pivoted to a different direction. So I'm gonna take James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: aliens. I'm gonna take aliens with my second pick. And we discussed earlier why this doesn't need to be mentioned again. James: No. jonathan: So the f those those three that we mentioned, they're they were gonna be at the top three in Pix anyway. So James: you gotta you gotta throw this one into the top four, Dark Knight. Dark Knight is Hey, hey. jonathan: MOTHER FUCKER, MOTHER FUCKER! James: Dark Knight is the quintessential comic book sequel that everybody talks about. Some people dare say it's the greatest of all time, but you know. jonathan: That's right. Yeah, that's right. James: But yeah, we've talked about it at nauseum at this point. There's no point in continuing that conversation, but jonathan: I'm very s I'm very surprised you took that. But I'm very happy you did. You I'm very happy you did because James: I'm not. Again again, if we're drafting the greatest of all time, my list is pretty fucking solid. jonathan: Okay, I I'm not knocking it. I'm s I'm agreeing. You James: N now it's gonna start to get into the deep water. jonathan: That it's the third pick only. We're not that deep yet. Okay. James: Go ahead. What do you got? jonathan: I'm gonna take with my next pick. I'm gonna go Rocky Two. James: Okay. That's that's high. That's high, my friend. jonathan: I I but but I am I'm a Stallone fan. And James: Yeah, we know. jonathan: yeah, okay. Suck salt. Anyway. Rocky II to me, it's like you said, the first one ended with him not getting the victory. The second one it's such a it's such a different story now. Like he may have to retire. He doesn't no his wife is sick, they ch It's so uplifting. That fucking scene when she's in the hospital and she goes, win. Beauti I James: Yeah. jonathan: love that scene. And Stone wrote, directed it, produ whatever. He brought everyone back. They all worked together perfectly great in the film. Even Carl Weathers. Carl Weathers was James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: everyone no one talks about how good he was in that franchise and the acting he did. So I love Rocky too, and I definitely think it has to be mentioned in the top ten sequels of all time. It may be a little high, me taking it, but I'm okay with it. James: Okay. I'm gonna go with Empire Strikes Back. jonathan: Okay. I don't hate that. Empire Strikes Back, you got. Alright, that's very solid. Okay. So for my next pick for top sequels of all time, I am gonna go with Mad Max Fury Road. James: That high? Holy shit. Alright, good for you. That's crazy. That was wild wild pick. May I XY? jonathan: Yeah, I I I I I'm a I'm very high on it. I like it a lot and it's gonna it's gonna again, it might be a stretch, but again for me it's a very enjoyable film that James: You're missing a lot of sequels there, but buddy. jonathan: that I'm not I I know where I'm going, don't worry. Alright, where are you James: Okay. All right. jonathan: going next? James: Spider Man two. jonathan: I should have taken that one first. James: Over Mad Max, that's what I'm like, damn. Mad Max. jonathan: I should have taken that one. I thought I could s I thought that was gonna fall a little bit, Spider-Man 2. And shame on me. Okay. So for that, because you took Spider-Man 2, I'm gonna go with the original sequel that it copied from. I'm gonna take Superman 2. James: Yep, nope, that's good. Superman two is a far superior film. General Zod. I don't think Superman one holds up nowadays if you watch it. It's so weird. jonathan: It's James: Like Gene Hackman's not a great villain in that. He's like a real estate mogul trying to buy out parts of Los Angeles. It's weird. jonathan: the the what what makes it hold up is just how good Christopher Reeves is as that's James: Yeah, I get that, but jonathan: that but I'm saying he car that whole movie like you saw him like being super like that's superman like that like the whole film James: No, I agree. jonathan: and that scene when she dies like it's goofy that he ro reverses the earth and everything. But the James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: when he screams in the anger like that I I I like the first one, but the second one to me definitely is better than Superman one and I like Superman two because Spider Man two's story and everything of struggling, having his powers, wanting to lose them, to get to give them away for a woman, it's Superman two did that first. James: No, I agree. jonathan: So but I I I liked I like the fact that we both got a Good Spider Man two the sequels to those. I'm like I'm h I like it. James: All right. I'm gonna go Top Gun Maverick next. jonathan: Okay. I like that pick. It's very good. For a movie s like you said, thirty years later, forty years later, it's still fucking good. James: So what is that? Six? jonathan: We both have six, yes. So for my next pick, I am gonna take Infinity War. Shake your head all you want. You took the Dark Knight, so I gotta get an Avengers film in there. And Infinity War is miles ahead of Avengers 1, Avengers Age of Ultron, and it blows Endgame still out of the water. Endgame has. Endgame. James: Oof Oof. jonathan: Yes, it does. Endgame has. We all love that film because of And I'm not saying it's bad. I'm not saying it's a bad film. But everyone has it h so high that portal scene That is one that that's James: Yeah, because no w nobody knew where they were going with that. jonathan: Exactly. So I will give flowers, but Infinity War, the whole movie, the flaw, the action, the ac the the story is better than Endgame. James: Okay. jonathan: Okay. Yeah. James: Hey you you do you boo. jonathan: Okay. James: I'm gonna go with X two. jonathan: hate that. I I like X two a lot, so I'm not gonna shit on that pick. A lot of people James: Can't sit on it. jonathan: a lot of people sleep on that film and they need to really go back 'cause that's it might it's arguably the best X Men movie. It's up there. James: I would say it is the best X Man movie. Logan is not an X Man movie. Logan is a Wolverine movie. jonathan: Yes. Yes. Yes. I agree with that. James: it is hands down the best. The only one that comes close to that is Days of Future Past. jonathan: Days of Future Past is good too. James: Yeah. But X Two is top tier X Men movie. jonathan: I am going to take back to the future part two. James: Okay. I get it. on that same breath jonathan: Yeah, you you sh you should get it. James: on that same breath I'm gonna take Toy Story Two. jonathan: I don't agree with that. I like it. I like it a lot. James: Okay. You ki there is no Toy Story three without introducing the characters into, so jonathan: I get it. It's a good film. It's a very good film. But I'm not I'm not sold on it that it's the best film in the franchise. I don't think it's I I yes, James: That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about subsequent sequels. jonathan: yes, I get it. But I don't think it's better than one and I don't think it's better than three. So that's why I'm not putting James: I a hundred percent think it's better than one. It may not be it jonathan: No. You don't you don't have you don't have two with that you don't have the second one without the first. James: You could have because it gave backstory to Woody. It did the whole thing with Buzz Lightyear again with the with the other thing basically everything from one is in two. jonathan: Alright. Don't think, but all right. I don't hate it. I I was I'll go I joke around with it. Torch Story Two is a good film. James: Ha ha jonathan: Twice Story's good two is a good film. I just pre I prefer the third one to it because I I just like that story better than the James: Mm-hmm. jonathan: second one. So for my next pick, I am going to take Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade with Sean Connery. Make that fucking face. James: Are you serious? Are you smoking crack right now? jonathan: Proco. James: You think Last Crusade is a good sequel? jonathan: With Sean Collery? Yes! James: my god, this fucking guy. jonathan: Are you are you alright? Are you alright? James: I can't believe you just said that with a straight face. What is good about that movie? jonathan: The action in the movie is good. The the chemistry between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford is amazing. James: They're t on screen together through maybe the last thirty five minutes of the movie. jonathan: Def bro, stop. Go again, I'll I've quote you I say this a lot to you. Educate yourself. Educate yourself. James: Yeah, go research, yeah, go educate yourself. They called the dog Indy. Get the fuck out of here Terrible pick. my god, that was an awful pick. jonathan: Okay. Toy Story t if if I I would dare say Indiana Jones Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is better than Toy Story Two and dare I say X two. James: Bro, you gotta stop fucking huffin' paint. You've lost your mind. You've lost your mind. My god, this guy's doing this guy's jonathan: Huffin paint. Huffin paint. Okay. Where you go? Where's next? James: doing fucking whippets in the car. I swear to god. you you fucked me up. I don't even know what to think about that. Jesus jonathan: Alright, get to the fucking pick. James: Christ. Anyway, what number is this? Nine? jonathan: Yeah, we're at nine. Nine nine nine James: Alright, so we're at the bottom of the barrel here. jonathan: nine comes after eight. James: Go fuck yourself, John. Guys got my fucking b got my blood pressure up. jonathan: No, you you got me the other the one of the fucking previous episodes. James: Yeah, I know. You got I got you sound like fucking cookie monster on this bitch. jonathan: I mean James: Alright, I'm gonna go with fuck. I'm gonna go with Shrek Two. jonathan: I don't hate it. I like Shrek 2 all that. We we got James: Shrek two is superior than Shrek. jonathan: that's no it's not. No it's not. That's James: It is, yes it is. Trek Two is a much better film. jonathan: And I'm the one fucking huffin' paint. Okay. Stop. That's we got catnip. that's not mine. It's funny. It's funny. It's very funny. It's not a better movie. James: Exactly. You see what I'm saying? It introduced puss and boots. jonathan: Yeah, but the first one's the first one's so iconic. I don't hate the pick. It's a very good sequel. So with my ninth pick, I'm gonna take Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. James: Fucking God, what is threes? jonathan: my god, it's a fucking sequel. It's a fucking James: According to your definition of it. It's the end of a trilogy, it's not a sequel. jonathan: Okay, I'm sorry, I didn't tr my god, bro. Kick rocks with your fucking Webster's dictionary definitions of sequels. James: And I'm the one that's gotta educate myself. jonathan: my god. dude so it can only be the second one in the franchise. There are no better sequels in the movies. Stop. James: I swear to god I am sound clipping this and putting it on Instagram. jonathan: I can't wait. I can't wait for that. And then I can't wait for James: Did jonathan: you to be like, go fuck yourself, John. James: If I could have jumped to the fucking computer screen, I probably would have. and then for jonathan: All right. So James: the last pick, last pick, last pick. Yeah, jonathan: Last p yeah, last pick. James: I'm gonna go with a comedy. I'm gonna go American Pie too. Yeah, yeah, I am. I am. American Pie jonathan: my fucking god, get the fuck out of here. James: two. jonathan: my god, dude. That's absurd. I like it. I I I like it. I like it. I like it. James: What's your what's your next one? What w what fourth movie are you gonna pick? jonathan: Nah, I I like that. I like I like America Poetry. I won't shit on it too bad. James: Go ahead. Go ahead. jonathan: was it soft now? yeah. No, no, go, no, go ahead. No, what what the fuck was that? James: never mind, I'll let you take your pick. I'll let you take no no go ahead. No, take your pick. Take your last pick. I can't wait to hear it. jonathan: Go fuck yourself, you fuck. Alright, so I have This is very tough. So I'm tossed I'm torn between A couple of films here and I'm gonna narrow it down. I The Bride of Frankenstein, but I'm not gonna go that route. I'm not gonna go that route. I'm not gonna go Bru You can't tell me it's not a good fucking James: Frankenstein? jonathan: sequel. You can't tell me it's not. Bride of Frankenstein, I know, I know, I know. it's so fucking I am gonna go with This is really tough. This is tough. I kinda wanna say Logan, but I don't want you to fucking punch the screen here. James: Today, Junior. jonathan: I don't wanna punch I don't want you punching the screen here that, I took Logan at SM. So I'm gonna go with I James: I have my own I have my own theories about Logan. I don't think Logan is a sequel. I think Logan is its own movie. jonathan: I am gonna say Captain America, the winter soldier. James: You think Captain America went to soldiers better than Civil War? That's fucking crazy, but alright. jonathan: It is better than civil war. James: Get the fuck out of here. Absolutely not. You jonathan: It is better than civil war. Civil War? James: you're rage baiting me. There's no way you're fucking saying that with a straight face. The fucking movie that's got Iron jonathan: I'm not a thousand percent s winter soldier. James: Man fighting Captain America, the introduction of Spider Man, the introduction of Black Panther, the whole Sokovia things that causes the jonathan: Okay. Yeah. James: fucking and Wow. Speechless. Speechless. jonathan: okay. Speechless. what ten what has the better action in the movie? What which movie? James: Which movie has the better action? The fucking movie where the entire Avengers fight each other. What do you mean? That airport scene? again, with the fuck it with the fucking educate yourself. The chase scene alone between Bucky jonathan: Nah, that's not no no. Educate yourself. The the car scene on the freeway yeah. Yeah, and also the elevator scene. How about the elevator scene? James: That's one fucking scene and they parried it jonathan: Stop. James: in fucking endgame. jonathan: That's no. Go back. James: Absolutely not. jonathan: Winter Soldier is the best Captain it's James: It's a good sequel. jonathan: it's the best Captain America movie, hands down. James: my god, you didn't just say that. jonathan: Yeah, that's it. James: Bro. Best Captain America movie? jonathan: Yes, it's better than civil war, a hundred percent. James: Jesus Christ. I don't know how anybody's gonna listen to us. They're gonna be like these guys are fucking idiots. And it's not these guys, jonathan: yeah. James: it's this guy. jonathan: Okay. James: That was crazy. Hi jonathan: No, it's not a hot take. It's James: Okay. It's your pick. you got your opinions. They fucking roll. jonathan: Yeah, there you go. James: man Bro, bro, what jonathan: it's listen, I get it. I get it. It's James: are you doing? jonathan: it's I like I like the the version of Winter Soldier better, like the spy thriller action. I didn't yeah, it's like Avengers two point five Civil War. Yeah, whoopde do Aveng yeah, Civil War is good W Avengers Civil James: Yeah What dee do What de do jonathan: Civil War is good. It's good. James: Civil War is fucking great. Whoop de fucking do you literally have Iron Man fighting Captain jonathan: It's it's not better than Winter Soldier. Okay. James: America? jonathan: That doesn't make it a better movie. James: yes it fucking does. The chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Christopher Evans in jonathan: My God, bro. James: that fucking movie was phenomenal. Phenomenal. jonathan: Stop, stop. The fight scenes, the fight scenes in it, the hand to hand fight scenes, the the knife fights, the gun fights. It's much better than Civil War. Stop. Yes it is. James: No it's not. No it's not. You buggin. We're gonna have to have jonathan: I'm not bugging. I'm not. James: a fucking MCU fucking episode now. my god. jonathan: That's fine. That's fine. Set it up down the line. And I will fucking say Winter Soldier is one of the best in the fucking MCU. James: done. I'm done with you. Yeah no I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. It's over. It's over. jonathan: What do you mean? What do you mean? What? What t tell what's tell what's what what's Winter Soldier's not better than? What's better than Winter Soldier? What what films? I wanna hear this. James: Fireman. jonathan: Okay, I'll give you a I man. James: Ragnarok. jonathan: Won't give you that. No. No, I won't. James: yes you will. Spider Man No Way Home, Spider Man brand new day, Black Panther two. go fuck yourself, yes it is. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. jonathan: Black Black Panther 2! Black Panther 2! This shit ho ho ho! no! Yeah, you're rage-bating me. Yo. Did you d no it's okay, James: Black Panther two is a better film than Winter Soldier. jonathan: okay. Joe my god. Whatever you're sipping on, fucking pour me some because that is the most outlandish fucking statement I've ever heard in my life. James: No it's not. jonathan: Okay, Black Panther 2. That's ridiculous. That's absurd. James: Guardians Guardians one, two and three are better than with the soldier. jonathan: give you maybe one and I've I'll I'm not giving you two at all. And three, nah I'm not giving you that either. No, Winter Soldier's better. No it's not. No it's not. James: Yes you fucking are! Guardians 3 is a superior film. Bro, we've been talking about for an hour and a fucking half. How do we how the fuck did we end up on this? Whoo! Whoo! whoo jonathan: Because you're talking about sequels. You're talking about sequels. You have to put Winter Soldier as one of the best sequels made. It has to be up there. James: You didn't say Spider Man two but you said fucking Winter Soldier You said Mad jonathan: I didn't say spot I Spider Man. James: Max Fury Road. jonathan: Yeah. W I are you fucking James: Why? How how are you gonna sit here and tell me your less is superior than mine? jonathan: You have Shrek 2 and American Pie 2! Are you fucking James: Iconic movies. jonathan: they're not better than anything on my list! James: American Pie two is better than with the soldier. jonathan: Yeah. okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Now I know now I know you're just like you're just fucking punching yourself repeatedly in the fucking throat. James: Pabe Babe Pig in the City is a better sequel than Winter Soldier. jonathan: Okay, yeah. And and and fucking Rambo two is better than fucking Shrek two, okay? How about that? Yeah, okay. Yeah, all right. You could see Yeah. James: Predator two is better than Winter Soldier. Donald Glover and his bad knees. Danny Glover. jonathan: Donald Clover, yo, you fucking high. All right. Yeah. James: I wish. Bro, your microphone just got really loud. I don't know what you did, but your microphone just w just skyrocketed in volume. That was awesome. You did. God. jonathan: That was a great ending to the episode. wondering what? James: I Yeah, deep breath, my guy. jonathan: Yeah. Yeah, so my list is my list is great. I appreciate it. Thank you. Where'd I put it? I lost it. There it is. Solid, solid, James: Woo woo Yeah, okay, wipe your ass with your fucking list. There you go. jonathan: solid, solid list. Solid list. Very solid.
